Transcript
- 0:02Speaker 1: This is a Bramble Jam podcast.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Welcome to Girls Gone Hallmark, a Hallmark review podcast. I'm
- 0:25Speaker 2: Megan and I'm a longtime Hallmark fan. I'm Wendy. I'm
- 0:28Speaker 2: a former Hallmark hater. Today we're discussing the latest Hannah
- 0:32Speaker 2: Swenson mystery, A Pie to Die For, which originally aired
- 0:36Speaker 2: on Not What You're Thinking, the Hallmark Channel on Sunday,
- 0:40Speaker 2: June twenty second, twenty twenty five. It is currently streaming
- 0:44Speaker 2: on the Hallmark Plus platform. We'd love for you to
- 0:48Speaker 2: pop on over to Instagram and give us a follow.
- 0:50Speaker 2: There we are Girls Gone Hallmark. You know, if you
- 0:54Speaker 2: were following us today you would see the behind the
- 0:56Speaker 2: scenes photos from the Hallmark question. Un kut. We just
- 0:59Speaker 2: participated in this. We Megan, We as in Megan collectively
- 1:04Speaker 2: Megan on behalf of Girls Gone Hamemark.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Oh yeah, did you share?
- 1:08Speaker 2: Did you share? Like those behind the scene photos? Others
- 1:11Speaker 2: shared theirs and I re shared them?
- 1:15Speaker 1: Got it?
- 1:16Speaker 2: Got it?
- 1:16Speaker 1: Got it? Got it? Hey?
- 1:18Speaker 2: We have a Facebook group if you're looking to find,
- 1:21Speaker 2: you know, conversation with like minded Hallmark fans. Admittedly haven't
- 1:26Speaker 2: been over there in a couple of days. Have you
- 1:28Speaker 2: been over there? Maybe? Not. Life's coming at me fast
- 1:31Speaker 2: right now, for real, for I'm barely treading water. Do
- 1:38Speaker 2: you remember about a month ago we were like, oh,
- 1:41Speaker 2: can't wait for summer. I can't wait for summer. I'm
- 1:42Speaker 2: so ready for a break. And now it's summer and
- 1:44Speaker 2: it's just been like, you know the water parks that
- 1:47Speaker 2: have that giant bucket of water that fills and fills
- 1:49Speaker 2: and fills and fills, and then it dumps on you
- 1:51Speaker 2: and you can't catch your breast. That's what summer feels like,
- 1:55Speaker 2: which is so funny because historically we've always kind of
- 1:58Speaker 2: had a very free, kind of loose summer by design,
- 2:03Speaker 2: and this year we did not do it that way. Nope. Yeah,
- 2:08Speaker 2: Wendy usually quits in January, but this year it might
- 2:11Speaker 2: be a July. A July exit, will see. No, I
- 2:16Speaker 2: haven't threatened to quit in a long time, not since
- 2:19Speaker 2: we started podcasting. Actually it was more it was more
- 2:22Speaker 2: YouTube fueled. Oh those are the days. Those were the days.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Hey, did I say come join our Facebook group? Yeah?
- 2:31Speaker 2: I haven't been over there. I don't even know if
- 2:33Speaker 2: anybody's talking about this movie over there. Well listeners could
- 2:37Speaker 2: be the first, right, Yeah, come on over Girls Gone Homewark.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Can I tell you? I just had like a recent
- 2:43Speaker 2: panic as well. Oh tell me, because in like nearly
- 2:47Speaker 2: three weeks we're going to South Carolina for the Deck
- 2:51Speaker 2: the Hallmark. Oh my god, I need to add that
- 2:52Speaker 2: to our list. Uh huh for the bramble Fest event
- 2:56Speaker 2: hosted by Deck the Hallmark. I'm very excited about it,
- 2:59Speaker 2: and but I had this like panic. I'm like, Oh,
- 3:02Speaker 2: we're going to be like in front of people, like
- 3:04Speaker 2: doing this like what we do, Like We've never really
- 3:06Speaker 2: done that before, So what's that gonna look like? Yeah,
- 3:10Speaker 2: we're going to need to be extra prepared. We're always prepared.
- 3:14Speaker 2: We come with notes. I mean, we've got a run
- 3:16Speaker 2: of the show. But this also isn't live, so we
- 3:18Speaker 2: can edit anything out and if we need to pause
- 3:20Speaker 2: and look something up and correct ourselves. It's going to
- 3:22Speaker 2: be a different a different experience.
- 3:25Speaker 1: It sure is.
- 3:26Speaker 2: But I'm excited about the movie that we're reviewing. Me too,
- 3:29Speaker 2: I'm excited for it. So uh and I'm unsure of
- 3:33Speaker 2: right now, like is that going to be recorded? Are
- 3:36Speaker 2: we putting that out in our Girls Gone Homewark feed?
- 3:39Speaker 2: Eventually that's a good question, I believe I asked, and
- 3:42Speaker 2: I'm not sure if I got a final answer on that,
- 3:43Speaker 2: so I need to follow up. But I really hope
- 3:46Speaker 2: that episode will be recorded for us to share here. Yeah, well,
- 3:50Speaker 2: well we'll find out. We'll keep everybody. We'll let you
- 3:52Speaker 2: know as soon as we know. Let's talk Hanna spincent
- 3:55Speaker 2: a Pie to Die For. When Hannah's customer and Dolores's
- 3:59Speaker 2: the your rival is murdered, Hannah must find her killer
- 4:03Speaker 2: in order to save her mother's reputation. Chad and Hannah's
- 4:07Speaker 2: romance blossoms. PI to Die For a Hannah Swinson Mystery
- 4:12Speaker 2: was directed by Crystal Low. Of course, we all know
- 4:14Speaker 2: Crystal as Rita from the fan favorite Signed Sealed Delivered franchise.
- 4:19Speaker 2: This movie, however, marks Crystal's sixth directorial project. She directed
- 4:23Speaker 2: Ali in last year's holiday romantic drama This time each year.
- 4:28Speaker 2: We're so happy to see that she's continuing her work
- 4:30Speaker 2: as a director Ali since when he starts as Hannah,
- 4:33Speaker 2: we just saw Ali in back to back Barcelona movies
- 4:35Speaker 2: this month. Not only does Ali star in PI to
- 4:40Speaker 2: Die For a Hannah Swinson Mystery, she is credited with
- 4:43Speaker 2: the screenplay as well. Hey, I did not know that
- 4:48Speaker 2: Wowie's Auie. Victor Webster returns as Da Chad Norton. Victor
- 4:51Speaker 2: has unimpressive ninety seven acting credits, and we last saw
- 4:55Speaker 2: him outside of Hannah Swinson in last year's Sugar Plumbed
- 4:58Speaker 2: FOYI if you didn't know, Victor will be joining in
- 5:01Speaker 2: Christopher Palaha on their own fan cruise in early January
- 5:05Speaker 2: twenty twenty five. I wonder what the status of that
- 5:08Speaker 2: is like? Is it sold out? Yeah? I wonder is
- 5:11Speaker 2: the room for us? Please?
- 5:16Speaker 1: Please please tell us there's room.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Barbara Nevan returns as Hannah's meddling mother Dolores, with one
- 5:23Speaker 2: hundred and fifteen acting credits. Barbara is best known for
- 5:25Speaker 2: her roles in Chesapeake Shores, North to Home and last
- 5:29Speaker 2: year's Leah's Perfect Gift. Lisa Darupt returns as sister Andrea.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Lisa has seventy six acting credits and was last seen
- 5:36Speaker 2: in Our Holiday Story from Last Christmas, but was absent
- 5:40Speaker 2: from the last Hannah s Winson movie, Reality Bites. Mike
- 5:44Speaker 2: Dupad plays Sheriff Ealing with two hundred and three acting credits.
- 5:48Speaker 2: He has previously appeared in the last four Hannah Swinson movies.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Juliana Wimbles returns as the cookie jar co baker Lisa Herman.
- 5:56Speaker 2: In addition to her forty five acting credits. Juliana is
- 5:59Speaker 2: a screenwriter who wrote the twenty twenty four movie This
- 6:02Speaker 2: Time Each Year, starring Alison Sweeney and directed by Crystal Low.
- 6:05Speaker 2: She's also the writer of this Weekend's new movie, Amachu
- 6:08Speaker 2: Pichu Proposal. Laura Celstice co stars as Delores's theater rival.
- 6:15Speaker 2: If her dimples look familiar. Laura has been in many
- 6:17Speaker 2: Hallmark projects, including Season's Greetings from Cherry Lane, This Time
- 6:22Speaker 2: Each Year and Holiday Crashers and That is just from
- 6:25Speaker 2: twenty twenty four. Zach Santiago, the One and Only Ramone
- 6:29Speaker 2: from scien Seal Delivered, also appears with one hundred and
- 6:32Speaker 2: sixty nine acting credits. We're thrilled to see Zach in
- 6:34Speaker 2: this Crystal Low movie. Sharon Taylor also appears as Tanya.
- 6:39Speaker 2: She has seventy acting credits with roles in Guiding Emily
- 6:42Speaker 2: and Christmas Under the Lights. Sharon also appeared in the
- 6:46Speaker 2: Last Hannah movie as Tanya Pi to Die for Hannah
- 6:50Speaker 2: Swinson Mystery is based on the novel Banana Cream Pie
- 6:53Speaker 2: Murder by Joanne Fluke, and finally, according to IMDb, the
- 6:58Speaker 2: next Hanna Swinson mystery is called Cooked to Death and
- 7:01Speaker 2: is currently in pre production. Hey, now, let's take a
- 7:05Speaker 2: quick break and we're gonna come right back with our
- 7:06Speaker 2: first impressions of Pie to Die For? Hey, Wendy, what
- 7:17Speaker 2: was your first impression of Pie to Die For? A
- 7:22Speaker 2: Hannah Swinson mystery without Norman is a mystery one oh
- 7:25Speaker 2: one without Graham Winslow. Where the freak was Norman? Well
- 7:28Speaker 2: he wasn't here last time either, right? Yeah he was?
- 7:32Speaker 2: Oh he was? Yeah he was. I remember specifically like
- 7:36Speaker 2: him hanging out in the cookie jar, like yeah, right,
- 7:41Speaker 2: but love his bib. Where is Norman? Well, my first
- 7:46Speaker 2: impression is forget a pie to die for? That was
- 7:48Speaker 2: a kiss to die for? Oh my god. I even
- 7:52Speaker 2: texted Megan. We were like chatting about something else as
- 7:55Speaker 2: I'm watching the movie, and I'm like, uh, off topic,
- 7:57Speaker 2: this kiss is pretty stinking good. Yeah, so much so
- 8:02Speaker 2: that I didn't even notice that Norman wasn't there. What. Yeah,
- 8:07Speaker 2: I mean, we don't need a love triangle, but I
- 8:09Speaker 2: just want Norman's presence, Like, I know, I like him
- 8:12Speaker 2: a lot. Let's throw Norman a bone and give him
- 8:15Speaker 2: a love interest. He had one. What Happened to Diana?
- 8:19Speaker 2: That was movies ago? Oh I know, right, Okay, can
- 8:22Speaker 2: we talk about what we liked please? And my number
- 8:25Speaker 2: one thing is what you just talked about is a kiss. Finally, finally, finally.
- 8:31Speaker 2: And it's not like it's been ten movies. It's been
- 8:35Speaker 2: a handful, right, five or six. But I'm so glad
- 8:41Speaker 2: that we got this kiss. And it wasn't just a
- 8:43Speaker 2: quick peck at the end. This was a mid movie,
- 8:47Speaker 2: well earned, genuinely romantic with Chad like touching her face
- 8:53Speaker 2: and brushing her hair back. I was like, Okay, this
- 8:57Speaker 2: is the payoff I've been waiting for. I was into it.
- 9:00Speaker 2: There's a reason we call him Wowi's Ali Webster, both
- 9:03Speaker 2: on and behind the scenes.
- 9:05Speaker 1: For sure.
- 9:07Speaker 2: It really does bring the heat. And I also it's
- 9:09Speaker 2: not just in that moment. There's so many moments just
- 9:11Speaker 2: where they look at each other. When they're dancing and
- 9:14Speaker 2: he dips her and he sticks his hand in her
- 9:17Speaker 2: hair to support her head as he's dipping her. That
- 9:22Speaker 2: was a swoon worthy moment. My friends, listen, I'm wondering
- 9:26Speaker 2: if Alie Sweeney or Crystal low is listening to our
- 9:32Speaker 2: podcasts because we've been saying for a good solid year.
- 9:36Speaker 2: I think it really came up with the Seine Sealed
- 9:38Speaker 2: delivered stuff last year was like the subtle touch of
- 9:42Speaker 2: the hair. I mean, the most nuanced move really makes
- 9:51Speaker 2: me feel things. I agree. So I'm wondering if they're
- 9:56Speaker 2: putting it into their movies now because we've been talking
- 9:59Speaker 2: about it for a straight year. Look, we are not
- 10:01Speaker 2: the only ones who feel that way, I'm certain. On
- 10:04Speaker 2: the other hand, I this movie has a lot of
- 10:07Speaker 2: the romance and sweet moments, and you know, brings the heat,
- 10:10Speaker 2: as I said, but there's a ton of humor in
- 10:12Speaker 2: this particular installment. It might be one of the funniest
- 10:16Speaker 2: in my opinion. There's a lot of little elements. The
- 10:20Speaker 2: interactions between Hannah and her sister while she's getting ready
- 10:24Speaker 2: for her date so good, so funny. And when he's like,
- 10:29Speaker 2: one of your sisters is in the pantry, right, I laughed?
- 10:33Speaker 2: So good. I mean, it's like right on the border
- 10:35Speaker 2: of two HYJIINXY. But it was perfect. She was like yep,
- 10:37Speaker 2: and then they just leave.
- 10:38Speaker 1: I love it.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Dolores is hot flash and she's like not now, so great,
- 10:45Speaker 2: and then Hannah choosing all of the wrong utensils from
- 10:47Speaker 2: the drawer in order to ward off the intruder. It's
- 10:50Speaker 2: like this serious moment, Chad's getting his ass handed to
- 10:53Speaker 2: him by this guy, and she keeps She's like whisk, Nah,
- 10:55Speaker 2: and like, great, were are the knives?
- 10:58Speaker 1: Hannah?
- 10:59Speaker 2: Well, speaking of like I thought Chad was holding his
- 11:02Speaker 2: own with the intruder, and you're right, You're right. It
- 11:05Speaker 2: was that that military training was really coming in. But
- 11:08Speaker 2: in the efforts over he was like, I really need
- 11:11Speaker 2: to work out, and it was so funny.
- 11:14Speaker 1: I thought that was hilarious.
- 11:16Speaker 2: I agree with you. There were a lot of like
- 11:18Speaker 2: little zingers, and all throughout the entire movie. I think
- 11:22Speaker 2: this the scenes with Hannah and her sister and her
- 11:25Speaker 2: mom are some of my favorite. Yes, they're like banter.
- 11:30Speaker 2: It's really good. I agree with you about Hannah and
- 11:33Speaker 2: her mom and her sister. I actually think this movie
- 11:35Speaker 2: is so much more about their relationship than it is
- 11:38Speaker 2: about the murder. The murder stuff is handled fine for me.
- 11:40Speaker 2: I found that interesting and enjoyable. But they do such
- 11:43Speaker 2: a good job building all of the relationships Hannah and Chad,
- 11:46Speaker 2: Hannah and her mom, Hannah and her sister, the three
- 11:48Speaker 2: of them together, that you're so in because that's what
- 11:52Speaker 2: makes this watchable as a series, that you care about
- 11:54Speaker 2: these recurring characters. Yeah, And I just thought they did
- 11:57Speaker 2: such a great job building those real relationships that were
- 12:01Speaker 2: already in place. Yeah, I agree with you, That's what
- 12:05Speaker 2: I was thinking. I really like the Hannah Swinson franchise. Now,
- 12:09Speaker 2: granted I've never seen one of the Murder She Baked.
- 12:14Speaker 2: I think we've seen one, just one, I think, yeah,
- 12:18Speaker 2: like the very first the very first one or very
- 12:21Speaker 2: last one. I don't remember it. It doesn't matter. But
- 12:23Speaker 2: you know, with the big shake up in the cast,
- 12:27Speaker 2: of course, like they're gonna need some time to like
- 12:30Speaker 2: build these relationships, especially between Chad and Hannah. But I
- 12:34Speaker 2: think it's coming together. I think it's really coming together.
- 12:37Speaker 2: I totally agree. I like that we're getting a little
- 12:40Speaker 2: hint out a love interest for Dolores.
- 12:43Speaker 1: Same the same, same.
- 12:45Speaker 2: I'm going to move that story forward. Hopefully she doesn't
- 12:48Speaker 2: have to wait as long as Hannah did, and they do.
- 12:51Speaker 2: You know, we talked about Norman being missing, but they
- 12:53Speaker 2: do reference the other sister and Lannie being away together
- 12:56Speaker 2: on a cruise so they are existing off camp Murrah, Yeah,
- 13:00Speaker 2: but why not say something throw wine in there about normal?
- 13:04Speaker 1: Sure?
- 13:04Speaker 2: Totally? Are they phasing him in Norman Gosh, I don't know.
- 13:10Speaker 2: I hope that it's sad if they did. I want
- 13:13Speaker 2: to talk about Dolores for a second. Uh huh. I
- 13:16Speaker 2: know she's super polarizing, like I see on Reddit. Yeah,
- 13:20Speaker 2: but not here, not here, not between us. Now. I
- 13:24Speaker 2: love Dolores. I think Dolores is. I'm team Dolores all
- 13:28Speaker 2: the way. When she answers that door and she's got
- 13:31Speaker 2: that face mask on, it just feels very relatable. And
- 13:35Speaker 2: then when she was in the janitor costume and she
- 13:37Speaker 2: was snooping around. Yeah, she just brings like a fun,
- 13:42Speaker 2: frantic energy but keeps it light. I love Dolores me too.
- 13:47Speaker 2: I especially love Barbara Niven, but I love her as Dolores.
- 13:51Speaker 2: So I feel like I'm gonna fight people. I have
- 13:53Speaker 2: one more little like yeah, and it's more of like
- 13:57Speaker 2: a it's not even a digitsy that it's a question
- 14:00Speaker 2: for you. Though, I felt like, was it me or
- 14:04Speaker 2: was Hannah a little bit shocked by Chad's interest in
- 14:09Speaker 2: her in this movie? Like when he calls and checks
- 14:12Speaker 2: in on her, and she's like, oh, he called to
- 14:15Speaker 2: see how I'm doing or whatever, and then or when
- 14:18Speaker 2: he hugged her after the whole intruder at her house,
- 14:21Speaker 2: Like I felt like her face was a little bit
- 14:25Speaker 2: she was in disbelief that things were actually progressing with him. Mmm,
- 14:30Speaker 2: did you pick up any of that. I didn't read
- 14:33Speaker 2: it as disbelief. I thought I read it maybe more
- 14:38Speaker 2: like she's impressed, like uh, look at that, not like
- 14:43Speaker 2: not like disbelief, like I'm shocked that he likes me
- 14:46Speaker 2: this much, but more I think in a this is
- 14:50Speaker 2: actually happening sort of way, yeah, kind of in a
- 14:53Speaker 2: this was yeah, not like she's not worthy of yea
- 14:56Speaker 2: or anything, but yeah, like I can't believe this is
- 14:58Speaker 2: actually finally somewhere. Yeah. Yeah, Because I think when she
- 15:04Speaker 2: tells Andrea that she's going on the day, and Andrew's
- 15:06Speaker 2: like rud al art, right. I think Hannah herself hadn't
- 15:10Speaker 2: quite gotten to that point of like, oh my gosh,
- 15:11Speaker 2: this has been building for all of this time. Who
- 15:13Speaker 2: knows the actual timeline? And Andrea's like, hello, like this
- 15:17Speaker 2: is a big freaking deal. And so I think she
- 15:21Speaker 2: kind of has a slower realization that it's all it's
- 15:24Speaker 2: all happening. Mm hmm, exactly exactly are you ready to
- 15:29Speaker 2: talk wishes? I am. I only have one. Oh, okay,
- 15:34Speaker 2: what did I miss? I don't know. It's such a
- 15:36Speaker 2: small thing. Turn your camera, shut her noise off, Hannah, Like,
- 15:39Speaker 2: you're not sneaky, and it's like kitching every time you're
- 15:41Speaker 2: taking a picture of someone sneakily. Oh totally. When that
- 15:45Speaker 2: guy was like doing art and she's like snapping pictures
- 15:48Speaker 2: of him, I'm like, this is dangerous. Yes, yes, totally, totally.
- 15:55Speaker 2: We already talked about it. My wishes are one, Where's Norman? Yeah,
- 15:58Speaker 2: not even a single line about him, a throwaway explanation.
- 16:02Speaker 2: I don't need a love triangle, but I need to
- 16:04Speaker 2: know where Norman's whereabouts are? Sure otherwise yeah, I don't
- 16:07Speaker 2: need a love triangle either. If Norman not there, are
- 16:10Speaker 2: they like maybe Norman got murdered because everybody gets murdered.
- 16:13Speaker 1: There, you know?
- 16:15Speaker 2: Yeah, how come Norman was in that aspect?
- 16:17Speaker 1: Right?
- 16:18Speaker 2: The other thing is I did think the this the
- 16:24Speaker 2: mystery part of it was kind of predictable. It wasn't
- 16:27Speaker 2: the strongest who done it because one delores isn't she's
- 16:32Speaker 2: not gonna be a real ste of course, no, right, Graham, Yeah, exactly,
- 16:37Speaker 2: it's not happening. So like you narrow it down when
- 16:42Speaker 2: you take her out of it, either the nephew or
- 16:45Speaker 2: the theater manager. I thought Lisa's cousin was an interesting take,
- 16:50Speaker 2: but not enough to like make me actually believe that
- 16:54Speaker 2: she was a real person of interest A great agree,
- 16:58Speaker 2: So I was like, we could have maybe dug a
- 17:01Speaker 2: little deeper here. But on the flip side of that,
- 17:04Speaker 2: I always complain that there are too many suspects, so
- 17:11Speaker 2: I guess I can't have it both ways. Huh. My
- 17:13Speaker 2: next wish is I was a little surprised that Laura
- 17:16Speaker 2: Solstice was the victim in this movie. I can't be
- 17:20Speaker 2: hearing us. She's such a familiar face on Homewark, and
- 17:27Speaker 2: I thought I maybe expected more from her role. It's
- 17:32Speaker 2: like killing off Drew Barrymore at the beginning of Scream,
- 17:35Speaker 2: you know, but she's like a big deal. Yeah, I agree,
- 17:38Speaker 2: he's a big a big deal totally. Yeah, sure, yeah,
- 17:42Speaker 2: Usually our our murderies are kind of the unknowns, right,
- 17:47Speaker 2: and then it also means that we don't have that
- 17:48Speaker 2: rivalry with her and Dolores anymore, right, right, right, right. Lastly,
- 17:54Speaker 2: I do think the mystery and it's not even a wish.
- 17:57Speaker 2: I kind of just was like a I'm here for
- 18:01Speaker 2: Chad and Hannah storyline at this point, like I'm not
- 18:04Speaker 2: really here for the mysteries, just like I'm here for
- 18:11Speaker 2: Amy and Travis and one alone, I'm not really there
- 18:13Speaker 2: for the mysteries either, So.
- 18:17Speaker 1: That's okay.
- 18:18Speaker 2: But I do think like if you are turning, like
- 18:21Speaker 2: if you are tuning in for a mystery, this one
- 18:24Speaker 2: might not put it for you. Oh yeah, that's a
- 18:27Speaker 2: good point, Curious mystery fans, Way and Girls Gone Homark
- 18:31Speaker 2: at gmail dot com. Yeah, all right, are you ready
- 18:36Speaker 2: for did you see that? Yep? And I have but one,
- 18:39Speaker 2: let's hear it. I need to know where Hannah got
- 18:44Speaker 2: her cat printed house coat. Look, I always complain, if
- 18:50Speaker 2: you've listened to any of our other projects Patreon mostly Patreon,
- 18:55Speaker 2: I'm complaining about how I'm cold all the time. And
- 18:58Speaker 2: I see her in this fuzzy cute robe that she's
- 19:03Speaker 2: just wearing over her clothes to stay warm in her house,
- 19:07Speaker 2: and it has a cat print on it, and I
- 19:09Speaker 2: was like, I need it. I not with a.
- 19:11Speaker 1: Cat, but with a dog. I would love, love, love love.
- 19:14Speaker 2: I need Homewark Wardrobe to drop a link. I was
- 19:19Speaker 2: super jealous that it was cold in this movie and
- 19:21Speaker 2: they're in coats the whole time because I'm the opposite
- 19:25Speaker 2: of Wenday. I'm always hot and I am I have
- 19:29Speaker 2: a paper chain counting down till November first. You know
- 19:33Speaker 2: what is funny. I was trying to think when we
- 19:36Speaker 2: saw we saw Dolores, when we saw Barbara and Nevin
- 19:40Speaker 2: talk about this movie, it was while we were in
- 19:43Speaker 2: Kansas City, and that was December, right, Yeah, so they
- 19:47Speaker 2: must have filmed this in like October November around that time. Yeah,
- 19:51Speaker 2: because when we spoke to Crystal Low about this time
- 19:53Speaker 2: each year, which was the first Thursday Night movie that premiered,
- 19:56Speaker 2: she was leaving to go work on hannahs Wedson and
- 19:59Speaker 2: we to her about it, but then we had to
- 20:01Speaker 2: cut it out of our episode because it wasn't announced
- 20:04Speaker 2: that she was directing it yet. That's right, So it
- 20:08Speaker 2: was cold where they were actually at Yeah, when they
- 20:10Speaker 2: were filming this, Yeah, I know. I noticed Hannah had
- 20:13Speaker 2: this big gray jacket and at one point, like the
- 20:16Speaker 2: in the inside you could see like the brand name
- 20:20Speaker 2: of it. Oh, I can't recall what it is. You
- 20:23Speaker 2: know that brand like it has something like degrees and
- 20:26Speaker 2: it you know, I'm talking about, oh like thirty two degrees,
- 20:29Speaker 2: yeah something. It was something similar to that. Uh huh.
- 20:32Speaker 2: So I'm like, she was legit cold. She was legit cold,
- 20:37Speaker 2: all right? Did you have a digits that I have
- 20:39Speaker 2: a real random list here, No true digitsu. That's just
- 20:42Speaker 2: some thoughts. Hannah charges fifty dollars for four pies Lake
- 20:45Speaker 2: He didn't must be the land that time forgot. Oh god,
- 20:48Speaker 2: I did the math in my mind. I'm like, where
- 20:51Speaker 2: can you get a pie for twelve dollars and fifty cents?
- 20:53Speaker 2: Not even marine calendars. I don't think.
- 20:56Speaker 1: Where's the freaking marine calendars at these days?
- 20:58Speaker 2: Yeah, but much less like a big I know, because
- 21:02Speaker 2: if you get a cake from like Susie cakes will
- 21:04Speaker 2: cost you fifty bucks. I know. Even a sheet cake
- 21:09Speaker 2: at the grocery store for my daughter's birthday was fifty dollars.
- 21:12Speaker 1: Dang.
- 21:13Speaker 2: I know. We have a new member of the Barbondiven
- 21:15Speaker 2: Skincare fan club, and that's my husband because when she's
- 21:19Speaker 2: on screen with her two daughters, he's like she must
- 21:21Speaker 2: have had these girls when she was thirteen, and I
- 21:22Speaker 2: was like, no, she's legit old enough to be their mother.
- 21:25Speaker 2: She just has great skin. We mentioned Zach Santiago is
- 21:32Speaker 2: in this movie. He is, of course Ramon in the
- 21:34Speaker 2: Science Healed Delivered series I. When he comes on screen
- 21:38Speaker 2: as the dance instructor, I was like, it's Ramone. And
- 21:41Speaker 2: then when he says the line, I do have a
- 21:43Speaker 2: cousin in Denver who's very popular, I laughed out loud.
- 21:46Speaker 2: I did too. I'm so happy that Crystal like infuses
- 21:49Speaker 2: her SSD family in these movies. Yes, I have two
- 21:52Speaker 2: more little things. One she's like I took a photo
- 21:54Speaker 2: of Eduardo, who's Zack Santiago, and she holds it up
- 21:57Speaker 2: and it's like him standing against a wall. It's not
- 22:00Speaker 2: like a candid, surreptitiously taken shot in his dance studio.
- 22:05Speaker 2: It looks like a mugshot. It's very weird to me.
- 22:08Speaker 2: And finally, Chad tells Hannah a story about when he
- 22:13Speaker 2: was in the Marines, how he slept on the floor
- 22:14Speaker 2: in order to avoid having to make his bed. Yes,
- 22:17Speaker 2: the timing of this is very coincidental because over the
- 22:20Speaker 2: weekend we were speaking to my neighbor who was in
- 22:23Speaker 2: the Air Force, and he talked about how when he
- 22:25Speaker 2: was in boot camp, they had to have they had
- 22:28Speaker 2: to you know, iron their sheets and have hospital cars
- 22:30Speaker 2: and the whole thing. And so what they would do
- 22:32Speaker 2: is they would have either a sleeping bag or a
- 22:35Speaker 2: blanket and they would roll it out over their bed
- 22:38Speaker 2: and sleep on that and then wake up in the morning,
- 22:40Speaker 2: roll it up, put that away because he said they
- 22:42Speaker 2: had a cabinet that wouldn't be checked, like two of
- 22:45Speaker 2: their cabinets could be checked and two of them weren't,
- 22:47Speaker 2: and so they would tuck that blanket away. And he
- 22:49Speaker 2: said he made his bed once at the beginning of
- 22:51Speaker 2: boot camp and that was it. Isn't that funny? Very
- 22:55Speaker 2: similar story is about not wanting to have to remake
- 22:57Speaker 2: the very specific bed. Yeah, very enter. I just why
- 23:01Speaker 2: can't you get up five minutes earlier and make the bed,
- 23:03Speaker 2: because it's more than a home bed making process. With
- 23:08Speaker 2: the they had to be at a certain angle and
- 23:10Speaker 2: they would measure them and make sure the angle was correct.
- 23:14Speaker 2: Doesn't the bed get ruffled anyway here sleeping on top
- 23:17Speaker 2: of it. I'm sure they had to do some adjustment
- 23:20Speaker 2: but I'm just thinking logistically. But funny that two similar
- 23:26Speaker 2: stories you heard in a week one weekend? Yeah, what
- 23:29Speaker 2: did you rate Pie to Die For? I gave it
- 23:31Speaker 2: four stars? I gave it four point twenty five stars.
- 23:35Speaker 2: I think it's my favorite Hannis wentson so far. I
- 23:37Speaker 2: even messaged Crystal Low to say that it was great.
- 23:41Speaker 2: That's nice of you. Sometimes I'm a nice person. Thank
