Kitty's Invitation
Aired: Nov 29th, 1952. Marshal Matt Dillon musters his courage over morning coffee at the Texas Trail to ask saloon keeper Kitty Russell to a benefit dance for the new schoolhouse. Kitty, wary of what polite Dodge City society will whisper about a woman in her line of work, hesitates before finally agreeing — setting off good-natured ribbing from deputy Chester back at the marshal's office. A quieter, character-driven episode that lingers on the tender, complicated bond between Matt and Kitty away from the usual gunplay.
