- 0:00But about bound banger management Fantasy hockey
- 0:03podcast. Whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 0:07Nice Welcome in Welcome all to Bangor management, the fantasy
- 0:11hockey podcast with Jake, Josh and Kevin today.
- 0:17We love this episode. Our week 10 by low sell high.
- 0:22We're we're almost halfway into the season, so it's getting a
- 0:26little tougher followed by Lowe's.
- 0:28Yeah. It's like slightly over.
- 0:31Halfway would be Week 11 1/2 so. Right we are.
- 0:36All Yeah, there we go. That classifies as almost.
- 0:43Almost as doing a lot of heavy lifting.
- 0:44But yes, we're on. Kevin just knows the Bilo Cell
- 0:47High episode. He's like, I have to disagree
- 0:48with Jake no matter what he says.
- 0:49Yeah, because. We're gonna agree on all his
- 0:52picks today, so I have to disagree somewhere.
- 0:53Yeah, it's true. Don't disagree too much here.
- 0:57Like cameras gonna lock out again.
- 1:00I can't believe you just put that into the universe.
- 1:02Wow, if something happens they blame Josh.
- 1:06It's confirmed. That's fair, I'll take it.
- 1:09Honestly, I'm fine with blaming Josh after after the absolute.
- 1:13Let's get. Let's not get into.
- 1:14Pulling. I feel like every episode we're
- 1:16like Josh has another first round pick, Josh has another
- 1:19first round. We just pulled a tick tock of of
- 1:22Josh getting like Austin Matthews and then like his three
- 1:24top players now have to do another one because it's gonna
- 1:26be like, OK, it's four top players now.
- 1:29Yeah, and then snapping his finger and then half the world
- 1:31just disappeared. I need one more Infinity stone.
- 1:37And and I have Kucherov who's just dealing with a small
- 1:40injuries, so I I can already feel the trades incoming.
- 1:44You're saying you don't want Burakovsky plus Dougie Hamilton
- 1:49plus insert like guy just got picked up here?
- 1:53Every time I actually, I told Josh I need every single player
- 1:57on his team and I'm still not accepting it other than the top
- 1:594, but we're going to get into the top four.
- 2:01You're going to talk about that unfortunately in your cell high
- 2:04section. But anyway, not to no spoilers

- 2:38Let's start with a 2 weeks ago date.
- 2:40OK, let's dive into our two weeks ago update our bylaws from
- 2:452 weeks ago, we had Jake Sanderson.
- 2:48Since then, seven games played, three goals, 6 assists, 9
- 2:52points. I think it's safe to say the
- 2:54Bilo window has closed. I really hope that a lot of our
- 2:57viewers were able to pull this off because his potential is so
- 2:59high. He was my signature pick at the
- 3:01start of the season and they're just going boat goes up.
- 3:04So I hope you, I hope you grab my other chance.
- 3:07Yeah, exactly. It still makes no sense, but.
- 3:11You mean what goes? Up.
- 3:13Yeah, it's the opposite of what goes down.
- 3:15It's it's pretty amazing. For all new listeners, boat goes
- 3:18up means that player is going to increase in value because as the
- 3:23boat goes up, when the water goes up, the boat goes up, value
- 3:26goes up. It's it's just science.
- 3:29Yeah, it's more topography and or you know, it's what the
- 3:32viewers want. So yeah, exactly.
- 3:36And then we add Jesper Bratt. Since then, eight games played,
- 3:39zero goals, 8 assists, eight points point per game.
- 3:41Still has more both upward Ness to go, but I still think that.
- 3:46So you still have Milo, but he's not as much of A buy low as he
- 3:49was two weeks ago. He's going to game.
- 3:52Yeah, it's great. And like zero goals.
- 3:54Like if you add one or two of those goals, like he's looking
- 3:56even way better. Yeah, and this is like classic,
- 3:58like anytime a guy has almost all his points being goals,
- 4:02Kevin's always flags that he's like, that's unsustainable.
- 4:04The guys gonna vote goes down, you know.
- 4:06But when a guy has zero goals, therefore the opposite is, you
- 4:10know, a goal. A guy like this is not gonna
- 4:12score zero goals. I know he's a playmaker, but he
- 4:14also is a goal scorer. So.
- 4:15So yeah, that's another one that if you can get in on it now,
- 4:18it's still a good opportunity. And New Jersey just got shut out
- 4:21in back-to-back games, so that's already just, you know, asterisk
- 4:25there, meaning, like, no. That's about to pop off.
- 4:27Yeah, exactly. And then lastly, but not
- 4:31leastly, we have Alexy, Protists of the Washington Capitals.
- 4:34Since then, he put up eight games, played three goals, 3
- 4:38assists, 6 points. And I know that Jake's pretty
- 4:42smug about this because Kevin roasted him and Kevin saying
- 4:47that this is exactly what he predicted for Protists.
- 4:49So. I said products would get
- 4:51points, 7.75 points per game, no power play points and like two
- 4:54shots with no banger categories. No, he's averaging over the last
- 4:57two weeks he's averaging .75 points, 0 probably points, two
- 5:01shots, 0 bigger categories. So.
- 5:03Five games. The last five games he's
- 5:06averaging about 20 minutes a night. 1 short handed point he
- 5:08got in those games. How many?
- 5:10Probably points. Zero, but that's OK.
- 5:13Yeah, but I. Don't like the whole argument
- 5:15was like, he's not going to get ever.
- 5:17He's never gonna get any power play points.
- 5:19I'd rather the shorthanded point.
- 5:21I don't know about you and he's still playing around 20 minutes
- 5:23tonight so he was bound to update.
- 5:25Not to mention his roster percentage also has also flown
- 5:27like 15% since then. So he's boat goes up and.
- 5:32Is he not doing exactly what I said he was going to do?
- 5:34Though he's like, he's so big that he's more like Godzilla
- 5:38coming out of the sea. With no power play points.
- 5:42God, look at least one power play point.
- 5:44I'm. Sure, Jenny related things.
- 5:47Like, I spoke to his doctor and I heard he actually grew a few
- 5:49inches over the past two weeks. Did he get his player card
- 5:55updated? Yeah, he's now 6-8.
- 5:58I don't wanna say it's. Probably 67067 off.
- 6:04OK, on that note, let's get to the cell highs from 2 weeks ago
- 6:07we had Yaroslav Askerov since then, three games played, one
- 6:10win. OK, these numbers are skewed
- 6:12because he had one awful game, but I still gotta say it. 6.68
- 6:15goals against average and .855 save percentage.
- 6:19Look, he had some hard opponents and but so like, this is not,
- 6:22you know, the new norm for him. He's still gonna be a solid hold
- 6:24rest of season. But if you were able to sell
- 6:27high before this last two weeks stretch of pretty awfulness,
- 6:30then you're pretty happy with how this worked out.
- 6:32So I still think he's a cell. Hi, I don't think this ruined
- 6:35all his value. I don't know if you sell them
- 6:37high after the last two. Games, that's it.
- 6:40So you might have to wait until another hot stretch.
- 6:42But that's what I was saying like 2 weeks ago, right when I
- 6:45when I had him as the cell high, it was just it was too too.
- 6:48I didn't expect him to drop off this much, but it was too good.
- 6:50Miss San Jose is just one of those teams.
- 6:52Honestly, they're playing better than I expected.
- 6:53Like last night they played they played Dallas and a lot of
- 6:56people were scared to start asking Rob.
- 6:57I recommended like, listen, if you can avoid starting him, like
- 6:59do not start him against Dallas. It could be a bloodbath.
- 7:01But actually stood on his head from all of the game and then a
- 7:04few goals that were unlucky at the end of the game.
- 7:07But overall, like I think you can expect him to be like
- 7:10between a top 15, top 20 goalie rest of season stretches of like
- 7:16top ten production, but it's still snooze.
- 7:20And whether you believe their playoff team or not, they'll
- 7:23have some duds. Like anyway, to be honest.
- 7:25So it's also like you're saying like top 15, top 20, which is
- 7:28super reasonable, but like 2 weeks ago you were saying you
- 7:31could sell them for like a top five goalie.
- 7:35Something. That says, I'm really hoping
- 7:37that people did sell high on him and if not, he's still gonna be
- 7:40a solid hold. But it's just you could have
- 7:41taken advantage of that exact. Then we had Willy Styles,
- 7:44William Nylander of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
- 7:46Since then, five games played, two goals, 3 assists, 5 points,
- 7:49but straight zeros in his last two games so.
- 7:52That definitely. Does he really?
- 7:56I mean, they, they keep bickering on the bench and like
- 7:58people are in Toronto or like noticing it being like alright,
- 8:01like does the captain needs to step in and be like, alright,
- 8:03you guys need to chill instead of like bickering and every
- 8:06press conference or whatever. Yeah, so it's never a good sign.
- 8:10No, not a good sign. Yeah, so I definitely mean also
- 8:13if you remember 2 weeks ago he was performing at like what was
- 8:16he 1.4 points per? Game yeah 1.5 per game it.
- 8:18Was yeah. So you see, like he's still a
- 8:20point per game over the past two weeks.
- 8:22How's that so high? But if you remember 2 weeks ago
- 8:24we said that we didn't say he was going to become a terrible
- 8:26player. Yeah, said he was not a 1.5 and.
- 8:28Last on the lot more for him than.
- 8:30Yeah, he's lost two games. People are probably cooled off a
- 8:33little bit. Yeah, and lastly but not
- 8:35leastly, we had Shane Gostisbehere.
- 8:37Since then, five games played, two goals, 4 assists, 6 points.
- 8:41His back hats are still pretty garbage, especially the last two
- 8:44games just put up one shot, but he's been having a hot stretch.
- 8:47I do think that the catalyst for one of his like for a bit of his
- 8:51decrease is going to be slave in coming back and Slavin is on the
- 8:54verge of coming back. So I still think you could sell
- 8:56high on Gossip Spare and I still would and but I do.
- 9:00I do feel like Jake got the best of me in our trade.
- 9:04Yeah, for once, but it's also with him the fact that like the
- 9:10Icsi's gonna go down. Yeah, and Carolina's power play
- 9:14has been basically garbage. So his points, which have been
- 9:18very consistent over the last five years, 2 power play points,
- 9:23which is actually quite the uptick.
- 9:25So I guess you could say that Slavin's presence is not going
- 9:27to take away from that. But overall on the season, like
- 9:31he's had a good season and I hope it continues for my sake.
- 9:35I have them on my team but I'd still try to sell if you can.
- 9:38Yeah. So, OK.
- 9:40And then we have a new little section we're adding here, which
- 9:43is guys we recommended over 2 weeks ago, but that's still
- 9:46apply because the main, I mean we can call this the Brayden
- 9:50Point section because this has been the name that like every
- 9:52single week. You know, we haven't, we've
- 9:54avoided mentioning him because we already mentioned him once
- 9:56like 4 weeks ago, but it's still accurate.
- 9:58So we added this section to kind of as a reminder, but we're not
- 10:01going to dive into them, but some BIOS from 2 plus weeks ago
- 10:04who still apply Brayden Point, Seth Jones, Dylan Guenther and
- 10:08Pavel Dora Phev. And then some cell highs.
- 10:11We had Evgeni Malkin, Ryan Nugent Hopkins, Leo Carlson, Bo
- 10:15Horvat and Miro Heiskanen. So pretty much that section is
- 10:18guys were still haven't kind of flipped the switch just yet
- 10:21whether it's boat goes up or boat goes down and we still
- 10:24recommend them as as bilos and sell highs.
- 10:27The only little tip that I want to add for their Ofev though, is
- 10:29that like he's getting towards like drop territory for a lot of
- 10:32people. If you're like in A10 team
- 10:33league, like he's definitely droppable, I think because the
- 10:36replacement that was already so high in 12 team leagues really
- 10:39depends on like who's available on waivers.
- 10:40But that's the name that I'm hearing in the discord.
- 10:42Like people are just what do we do about him?
- 10:44Like can I just drop him? Like please give me permission
- 10:46to drop him. And I keep being like, you can't
- 10:49drop him. Like the upside is too high.
- 10:51He's still my PP one. Yeah, you gotta, there's a rough
- 10:54stretches with guys like this that like no matter how bad it
- 10:56gets, like it's really hard to drop if if he ever gets bumped
- 11:00off P1, then it's like a clear drop.
- 11:02But as long as he still has that spot, he's just missing the top
- 11:056 deployment for him to go back to what he's been doing his
- 11:07whole season. So that's kind of what you're
- 11:10waiting for. But right now, I know it's hard
- 11:11and I know it's like you gotta just hang in there.
- 11:14If there's decent replacement value, then you can make a swap
- 11:16if it really helps your team in the immediate future.
- 11:18But I'm thinking long term with this one and it's just hard to
- 11:21drop a guy with this much upside.
- 11:22Yeah, honestly, Yeah, I know. Go ahead, Jackie.
- 11:25I agree and I don't know, I'm scared for him.
- 11:29I wouldn't drop personally, but I would also just I would say
- 11:33that it's I'm scared to buy. So that's kind of like.
- 11:36If you're buying, it's like an elite like hours where almost
- 11:40300 players are rostered and you can really take advantage of the
- 11:43opportunity because waivers is pretty scarce.
- 11:45Like there's nobody that has exposure to people one the way
- 11:48he does that's available on waivers or anything close to
- 11:49that. So yeah, if you're like that,
- 11:51I'm still trying to buy because the price is very low right now.
- 11:55But if you're looking at a standard 12 team league with
- 11:57like 240 roster guys, I think realistically, like I'm not
- 12:03trying to buy right now because I want to see a little bit more
- 12:07life before I try to do that. I mean, for me, like I just see
- 12:10it as I think you can get in for like peanuts.
- 12:12This is kind of like my Jones one from from a few weeks back
- 12:15where it was like, I don't think that there it's gonna be super
- 12:19soon that they have the uptick, but this is like the lowest,
- 12:21lowest, lowest values ever going to be.
- 12:23So if you get a guy like that essentially for free, that's why
- 12:26I like it. But no, you're not paying any
- 12:27actual assets for him at this point.
- 12:29Who gets more points for us this season?
- 12:31Dora Favor produces. Dora Fav.
- 12:34OK. Is that like closer now that it
- 12:36was like 2 weeks? Ago was that like, did you guys
- 12:39hear about that? Yeah, I was.
- 12:39Here we we all beer battered I. Was.
- 12:42Too sick. I still on the hill by myself
- 12:45and over the last seven days things are looking pretty good
- 12:49for me on the side as. Well, as we like to say, make
- 12:51seasoned vets in seven day increment windows and that's.
- 12:54Yeah. I will say of my I, I had two
- 12:59cell highs on this list. Miro Heiskanen super confident
- 13:02he's still sell high, but Leo Carlson's actually legit.
- 13:05Like he's so good. We didn't say he wasn't legit,
- 13:08it was just didn't think he's gonna average like 1.6 points
- 13:11per game for the rest of the season.
- 13:12You. Know and it's still
- 13:13unsustainable so that's what I was gonna say is like you could
- 13:16aim extremely high here with Leo Carlson and he has slowed down
- 13:21like compared to what he was doing it's not like he was
- 13:24putting up that insane amount of points but his shots good and
- 13:29everything I mean no points in this last two games so that's
- 13:31kind of a W for the cell high recommendation but this is just
- 13:34the type of guy that I would aim for a first round pick here yeah
- 13:37like. It's definitely harder now given
- 13:40that we slow down a little bit because he's not doing what he
- 13:43was doing when we recommended as a cell high.
- 13:45He's still arguably really good, obviously, but I I just
- 13:50recommended in the discord somebody made a trade.
- 13:52It was like Carlson plus something where they got like
- 13:55brat plus something and like the the something else was an
- 13:57upgrade as well. And I still take Brat over Leo
- 14:01Carlson rest of season Ireland. I wouldn't, that's what I'm
- 14:05saying. I think you can aim.
- 14:06Higher. I mean it wasn't the only
- 14:08difference. The only difference is is to
- 14:10face off wins but I think. It's not like it's a bad thing.
- 14:13If the set points rest of season and power play points.
- 14:16If the second component of that trades like an upgrade as well,
- 14:19that's a win. Get me wrong.
- 14:20But like, if I have Carlson now, like I'm aiming for Eichel, I'm
- 14:24aiming for. I mean, we always wanted
- 14:26someone. I am just.
- 14:27Saying talking about from the Bilo territory.
- 14:29Yeah, but a lot of points to yeah, let's dive into our
- 14:32current ones. That's the past.
- 14:34OK, That was like we're over it and we were just reminding
- 14:36people that these guys still exist.
- 14:37But now let's dive into our Week 10 by Lowe's.
- 14:40I'll start with mine. So for this week, my by low is
- 14:44Tim Stutzel of the Ottawa Senators.
- 14:47Over the past months, Tuttle is averaging .71 points per game,
- 14:5021 power play points, 1.7 shots and two hits.
- 14:54Last year, he averaged 96 points per game, .4 power play points,
- 14:58two shots and 1.6 hits. So he's doing exactly what you
- 15:01expect him to do in every single category, except he's missing
- 15:04PowerPoint about .2 power play points to boost up his total
- 15:08points to nearly point per game. In the past 10 games, the sends
- 15:11are 6 for 27 on the power play, which is around 22%.
- 15:15But if you take out the last game where they were two for
- 15:16three they're 4 for 24 which is 16% in the past two years of
- 15:21average around 23% and are ranked 11th last year and then
- 15:24tenth this year due to their hot start.
- 15:26So why do they have such a cold stretch and why can we expect
- 15:28them to go back to being one of the top power plays in the
- 15:30league? Firstly Brady could Chuck was
- 15:32out for about 6 weeks and secondly the coach has been
- 15:34messing around with power play 1 unit and bumped off Cousins for
- 15:37Pinto which makes no sense. Luckily Ketchup is now back and
- 15:42the coach is being saved from his own stupidity since Pinto
- 15:44got injured so now he had to move Cousins back to powerfully
- 15:461 and look at that they immediately go 2 for three on
- 15:48the power play. What a shocker.
- 15:50So this team has shown that it can have an elite are playing on
- 15:52the right guys are on the ice, and that's the only thing
- 15:54standing in states away from being the PowerPoint per game
- 15:57double double that people hoped for.
- 15:58Now it's a great chance to grab him before the power play starts
- 16:00clicking and his stats go back to what you'd expect.
- 16:03So someone for one target? I'm looking at Brandon Hagel,
- 16:06Morgan Geekie, and Mark Stone. Yeah, this is who I was going to
- 16:10say. You can like you can aim for
- 16:12Stitzel if you have the old Carlson still, that was like one
- 16:15of those things, you know what I mean?
- 16:16Because for this, you're guaranteed the shots and the
- 16:18hits. He's going to be very good in
- 16:20that front. And we spoken about this a lot.
- 16:22But to Chuck being there is gonna be a catalyst for Ottawa
- 16:25getting better and then some. He's this staple line like main
- 16:29centre on this team. And you know, coupled with to
- 16:32Chuck being there, usually probably gonna play with him
- 16:35moving forward. I love it.
- 16:37I absolutely love it. This is a clear bi LO and a stud
- 16:40in all bangers league so it's a great time to go for it.
- 16:43Yeah, Plus, you know, you're getting a guy that, first of all
- 16:45has like the pedigree and we've seen in the last few seasons
- 16:49what he can produce. So, you know, like the potential
- 16:51is there, you know, you've seen it before, so you know what you
- 16:53can expect. And Ottawa has a great playoff
- 16:55schedule as well, so you know that you're potentially
- 16:57improving there as well for your team.
- 16:59I want to give a few other names as well because I honestly think
- 17:03the only one that name you listed that kind of maybe
- 17:06potentially disagree with is Mark Stone, just because I feel
- 17:08like if he's healthy, I think he can actually be a stud for
- 17:12points and and power play points this season.
- 17:14But like, there's a huge gamble and.
- 17:16You're taking Mark Stone over still rest of season.
- 17:18I maybe I'm just a stone Homer, like I've been trying to acquire
- 17:21him. The manager has like no.
- 17:22Crazy. Whatever number.
- 17:24I can't believe you're leaving our hate group.
- 17:25That's nuts. Also now.
- 17:28I hate them, but I would just love to hate him on my team.
- 17:30You know what I mean? Cause I, I think my, I think she
- 17:34like the power play can be like insane there.
- 17:36And and the points I think Mark Stone could be like over point
- 17:38per game player, but still gives you the category coverage.
- 17:43So there's and less injury scares, but do you think you can
- 17:47flip Josh Norris for too so? No, no, I don't think so.
- 17:50OK, what about Kadri? Maybe.
- 17:53I don't think so. Well just because Josh Norris
- 17:56has played like 3 excellent games this year, yes, over like
- 17:59the 20. Something happen?
- 18:01Excellent. Norris.
- 18:01There's no chance. Like no one, no one's looking at
- 18:03that tiny sample size and being like, I'm gonna trade my second
- 18:06round pick for him. And then Kadri either.
- 18:08Like Kadri's been pretty bad most of this season.
- 18:10Then he turned it on recently. But I just don't see anyone
- 18:12doing that. OK, look, I can pull it off.
- 18:14It's great, but I don't think. So you think you can do Marshawn
- 18:17for? Us.
- 18:17Yeah. I was gonna ask you as a name,
- 18:19yeah. I think Marsha, maybe Clayton
- 18:21Keller, yeah, maybe Keller gets more shots, slightly more
- 18:26points, but he has a terrible playoff schedule with two games
- 18:28in the championship, whereas you're getting getting more
- 18:30well-rounded player even if the ceiling is potentially less
- 18:33high. But like Keller has been a
- 18:34shadow of himself as well and people are worried about himself
- 18:37which I do things to buy. Low candidate but Stutzel is
- 18:39just better overall player I think.
- 18:42Yeah, to do, Brat. No, I'd rather have.
- 18:47That's close. I think that honestly, I think
- 18:50I'm taking steps all over Brat. Really.
- 18:52Why? I mean, I believe that the power
- 18:55play in Ottawa, like they should be like a .4, they should be
- 18:58similar to like Devils, right? Like both should be like point
- 19:00fours. And then Brad's going to have
- 19:02like .1 points more than Stitzel, but still gets those
- 19:06two hits, brackets, one hit and then get the same amount of
- 19:08shots, I guess, Yeah, I guess. You know what?
- 19:10One hit versus .1 points. It's pretty.
- 19:13Close the other hit. You can stream with the bigger
- 19:15guy like the the .1 points and the higher threshold for points.
- 19:18I think that's a close I I'd go bad, but it's definitely close.
- 19:22Like yeah, 2 till we forget. I feel like his value can he's
- 19:24the type of guy that when he's hot, he's like almost
- 19:27untouchable. But then when he's like not hot
- 19:30people, I feel like they lower his floor gets so low.
- 19:34If that makes sense in terms of people's eyes and how they value
- 19:36him. Like you could get him for like
- 19:38a connect me at that point. Whereas when he's hot it's like
- 19:40no no where in the same vicinity if that makes sense.
- 19:42Yeah, that's fair. Alright, Kevin, who you?
- 19:45Got great pick Josh. Thank you.
- 19:47My pick is a guy who I feel it can be quite polarizing, but I
- 19:55think he's a great buy low and I'm talking about Zach Hyman of
- 19:58the Edmonton Oilers. So Heyman is somebody that fell
- 20:02in drafts due to his injury. He came back around 3 weeks ago
- 20:05and in his first game back he got 11 hits.
- 20:08That was nuts. And yeah, pretty much broke the
- 20:10Internet at that point because everybody was just like,
- 20:12alright, like we got the next stud banger like Kiefer Sherwood
- 20:15on steroids or whatever. But that is a terrifying image.
- 20:23But I remember coming on this podcast and kind of like
- 20:25tempering expectations being like, listen, I know he's he he
- 20:28was hitting in the playoffs last season.
- 20:29We talked about it in the offseason being like, maybe this
- 20:31is something that he introduces to his game.
- 20:34But then nobody can expect to have 11 games, 11 hits a game
- 20:38consistently, right? Like, I don't think anybody was
- 20:40expecting that, but maybe people thought like four or five hits a
- 20:43game. I was kind of on here being
- 20:45like, listen, I expect it to be maybe like one or two.
- 20:47And that's kind of like where he's settled out recently in the
- 20:49last few weeks. But all that to say, like Hyman
- 20:53is averaging 0.6 points per game, that's kind of what he did
- 20:57last year. And last year was a huge
- 20:59disappointment where two years removed from him scoring 54
- 21:02goals, in 2023 scored 54 goals and it was 3 points away from
- 21:05being a point per game player. He had 77 and 80 I believe, and
- 21:11I just think this Edmonton team right now is starting to click.
- 21:13The power play is getting better.
- 21:14He's an integral part of that power play because he's the guy
- 21:18that's gonna be in the blue paint scoring all those, all
- 21:20those goals that people feel like he doesn't deserve, but he
- 21:22still, he still finishes them off the greasy goals.
- 21:25It was like when he scored 54, I think 50 of them were in that
- 21:28blue paint. It's just don't ask how they ask
- 21:29how many. Yeah, exactly.
- 21:31And and he knows how to count. So I just think that maybe he's
- 21:36not going to be a point per game player and but I do think that
- 21:39that's his ceiling. If he averages out to like .85
- 21:42point 9. I think that's very realistic.
- 21:44You already have the higher floor with the hits that are now
- 21:47introduced into his game where you'll get you probably he's at
- 21:50least a double double. It feels like moving forward
- 21:52where he has the upside to also shoot 3 * a game so he can be
- 21:55like a .9 know the power play will be better.
- 21:58Right now he's only averaging What is it?
- 22:00I think 0.1 or 0.2 power play points and if he's, he's an
- 22:06integral part to that unit, it's going to be closer to point 3.4
- 22:10I think when things are clicking on all cylinders.
- 22:13So room for positive regression there.
- 22:15The shots could be at 3:00 to his can be at 2.
- 22:17I think right now if you're putting yourself in the shoes of
- 22:20somebody that drafted Hymen, it's like, OK, I drafted this
- 22:23guy later in drafts, stashing the whole year.
- 22:25He came back, had an amazing start with the first game and
- 22:28that kind of dropped off. So you're kind of like you feel
- 22:30like I just, I was expecting way more from a guy that I waited
- 22:34like 8 weeks for. I'm not getting what I what I
- 22:36wanted. He's doing what he did last year
- 22:38and last year was a disappointment.
- 22:39So it's kind of just like you, you have that taste in your
- 22:41mouth that's like a little bit sour.
- 22:43You're like, oh, I wish it was more, you know what I mean?
- 22:46But I do think there is more in the tank and I think he's
- 22:48getting to the place where we're seeing it in the last couple of
- 22:51weeks too. Like his first week was rough.
- 22:53This last week was a little bit better.
- 22:55I think I think both about to both about to become maybe
- 22:58potentially rocket ship. So in my mind, he's somebody
- 23:02that I really want to target, especially if you're in a banger
- 23:05categories leagues, but just banger leagues in general.
- 23:07And I think right now before the points start uptaking seriously,
- 23:10he's still attainable and I think at a reasonable price.
- 23:13So someone for one targets and the guys that you could trade
- 23:16for in a package. I think names like, you know,
- 23:18Afghani Malkin, we mentioned multiple times on the podcast.
- 23:21If you could flip that for Zach Hyman, maybe it requires an
- 23:24extra push. I would do that for sure.
- 23:26Gabe Vilardi, who goes through stretches where he's really hot,
- 23:29really cold. I think that's the type of
- 23:31player that is a little more 1 dimensional and you can get a
- 23:33more well-rounded player in Hyman that also has a higher
- 23:35ceiling. Tyler Bertuzzi, I think he's one
- 23:38of the biggest cell highs right now that we didn't mention him.
- 23:40We're not gonna mention him on the podcast directly, but I
- 23:42think he's worth absolutely trying to sell high because this
- 23:46is a guy that could end up on waivers in most leagues if his
- 23:48deployment changes and he's like averaging 1.4 points per game.
- 23:51Feels like the last month. Dylan Gunther we mentioned on
- 23:55the below, but in in the last two weeks he's still he's gotten
- 23:58a little hotter. So I think if you can swap one
- 24:00for one, that's great. If it takes a little bit more,
- 24:02you can do that too, because I'd rather hymen with No2 games in
- 24:06the championship get the three from Hyman, which already better
- 24:10and also you get the hits and the exposure to a better team
- 24:12and the Trevor Zageris. I think he's the type of guy as
- 24:15well that he's been a sell high for most of the season.
- 24:18Listen, he's gonna be the type of guy that we had no interest
- 24:22in before the season starts. We are definitely interested
- 24:24now. But if you can, tear up to a
- 24:26Zach Hyman and no brainer in my opinion.
- 24:30Yeah, it's a great choice for a bi lo, the targets, Mulkin,
- 24:35Velardi, Lovett, so and Zagreus as well.
- 24:38Bertuzzi, I think you have to give Bertuzzi plus, but it's
- 24:40still worth it. And Gunther, yeah, I mean, if we
- 24:44like Gunther has recently become kind of like what we expected
- 24:48him to be when we initially recommended him as a buy low at
- 24:51.88 over the last two weeks and 2.88 shots and 1.38 hits.
- 24:55That's good. I don't know.
- 24:58I would rather just kind of like keep Gunther out of it, but.
- 25:02Yeah, you would rather Gunter Hyman Russell season.
- 25:05I don't think you could get hymen.
- 25:07Like I don't think you could give Gunther and get hymen back.
- 25:10Like I don't think that. And I still think I'd kinda just
- 25:14be OK just keeping Gunther. I kind of like push up.
- 25:20No, it's just to say that it's like, it's not that.
- 25:22It's like like, I still think Gunther is kind of like, it's
- 25:25weird. It's been inconsistent.
- 25:26Like he's ticked up recently, but over the last month he
- 25:28hasn't like been as good. As he was by law.
- 25:30Expect him to be exactly So what?
- 25:33I rather Gunther Hyman, probably probably Hyman, but it's close
- 25:38enough that I'm like he's not the person I like.
- 25:41He's like the guy value the most, I think on this list
- 25:43because of the absolutely. So I'd rather just kind of like
- 25:47not put them in the trade, but the other 4.
- 25:49Fantastic. Let's get them for less.
- 25:51But if you have to go all the way up to Gunther, I'm saying
- 25:54I'd still do it. So I'm going to disagree a bit
- 25:58with both of you. First of all, I think it's a
- 26:01great buy low and and all the targets other than Gunther, I
- 26:04think are are really sick. So and Bertuzzi, like I know
- 26:08that's like the worst name out of the bunch, but like with how
- 26:12insane he's been, I think it's it's possible like you might
- 26:14have to do today in a small plus, but like I really think
- 26:17that could actually get done. Producing Mulkin type of thing.
- 26:20Yeah, I mean, I don't even know if you need to give that much.
- 26:22Like it really depends on the league and the owner, but but I
- 26:25think pertussis been unreal and Hyman's been pretty bad.
- 26:27So I think it's definitely doable for Guenther.
- 26:29First of all, straight up, I'd rather than human.
- 26:31I know that Guenther has a 432 and Hyman is a 333, but like
- 26:34net, it's still the same number of playoff games.
- 26:36Obviously having a two weeks in the finals sucks, but like it's
- 26:39not a big enough jump for me to lean Heyman.
- 26:41And I just think and there's like I was really high on him
- 26:43going into the season. I'm still very high on him.
- 26:45I think he's a guy who couldn't like be over a three shots per
- 26:48game. He can be over one point per
- 26:50game. So like, let's say we put Hyman
- 26:53as a three in one and like together is like similar, Um,
- 26:57then pretty much about the points.
- 26:58And I believe in going through a lot more than than Hyman.
- 27:00So that's kind of where I'm at with it.
- 27:03I think you could definitely do it.
- 27:04Also, that's kind of where I disagree with Jake is like, I
- 27:06think if you send their Hyman, I think it gets accepted.
- 27:10So So yeah, So kind of just being being contrary for both of
- 27:14you just to be. We love it.
- 27:17But yeah, no. But honestly this is a great buy
- 27:19low and if I didn't already have two Oilers on my team, I
- 27:23definitely be targeting him. And if I.
- 27:25Also know you have. Nobody on my team for parts.
- 27:27Yeah, exactly. Would you give a Hmm.
- 27:34Would you give like a, I don't know, for example, no Beckett
- 27:38saying he can't get it done like a cutter Gautier.
- 27:40No, I'm taking Gotti over over Heyman.
- 27:43You're taking Gautier, and how about going up the list?
- 27:47Would you do Ovechkin? I know you guys.
- 27:49Don't like them? I'd rather Ovechkin at this
- 27:51point. He kind of woke up and decided
- 27:52to actually be a good player this year.
- 27:54Yeah, yeah, yeah. I guess one other thing here for
- 27:57you. Yeah, you know it.
- 27:59Was also solid cell high honestly, but I'd still take
- 28:01over. Broad Marshall is a good name
- 28:03that I would take him. There, Marshawn, like selling so
- 28:05hard. Yeah.
- 28:06So realistically this is a fantastic choice and I also
- 28:09think he got quote lucky that Roslovic got hurt as soon as he
- 28:13came back because we're also was actually looking good on that
- 28:15power play 1. Yeah, there was no way they were
- 28:18keeping Rohrman. I don't know.
- 28:20I don't know. But like, now that Heyman has
- 28:22it, he's gonna keep it. Rossovich was like actually
- 28:24solid more. So if he was that good, just put
- 28:27him back then. Yeah, if he wasn't injured.
- 28:31Put it into P1. Honestly, I have to stand in
- 28:35front of the net, you know, and tap it in and he could do
- 28:37assignments job now getting somebody.
- 28:39Anyway, yeah, he's gonna be very good, but I don't think it's
- 28:42gonna be what it was two years ago, but it'll be better than it
- 28:45was last year. That's my take on it.
- 28:47All right, so how many times have we heard this guy is sick,
- 28:53but insert team here sucks. I am talking about Rasmus Dali
- 28:58and one of the best defensemen in the NHL on Buffalo who in the
- 29:02past has been Garbaccio. Sorry for.
- 29:05My. Yeah, So this year, though,
- 29:10what's different than Buffalo over the past few years is that
- 29:12they're actually trying to stay relevant.
- 29:15They are last place in the Atlantic, but it's extremely
- 29:18slim margins and with Norris, Daleen, Zucker and Benson having
- 29:23missed extended periods of time. So these are like some of their
- 29:25top guys, other than Tage, of course.
- 29:27I wouldn't bet on them to make the playoffs at all, but I
- 29:29wouldn't be surprised if they're competing when the year is
- 29:32coming to a close for fantasy hockey.
- 29:35With all that, Darlene has been very poor points this year and
- 29:39is now on pace for his worst points total since 2122 and his
- 29:42shots blocks are both worse than last year as well.
- 29:47Over the last month he's on pace for .5 less points per game than
- 29:51he was last year and I I I don't think that's nearly sustainable.
- 29:56He should be on pace for at least .8 points per game.
- 29:59Over the last 10 games he's had 28 shots and has zero goals and
- 30:02two power play points which are assists.
- 30:04Obviously these are the categories I expect to turn
- 30:07around both power play percentage and goals in the very
- 30:12near future. He should be on a better pace
- 30:17and getting 5 power play points and zero goals over the
- 30:19remaining 54 games, which is astonishingly, impossibly bad
- 30:23of. Course.
- 30:24If Buffalo does in fact suck, Delene gonna be significantly
- 30:28better than he's been so far. If Buffalo surprises even a
- 30:30little bit, he's going to be significantly better than he's
- 30:33been so far. Excuse my English.
- 30:36So basically, right now is an amazing time to buy Dalene and I
- 30:40don't think it's going to cost you too too much A1 for one
- 30:44target. I would say Rasmus Anderson,
- 30:47Miro Baskin, Kevin sell high hashtag no spoilers, Cutter
- 30:52Goutier. And if, uh, if you're looking to
- 30:56add something, I think Darren Radish plus is probably your
- 30:59best bet because he's looking really good.
- 31:01We'll see. I mean, Headman's coming back if
- 31:04he actually takes it over, but Radish has been a beast, So what
- 31:08do you think? I think that darling is a sick
- 31:12Bylo. I I honestly like I was gonna
- 31:14put him as a Bilo about I think it was 3 weeks ago and then like
- 31:17the day of the episode was 1. He went on that like personal
- 31:20leave of absence and it was like he could be out for the season,
- 31:22whatever. You know, I was like, I don't
- 31:23feel comfortable putting as below and it just so up in the
- 31:25air and and yeah, so it's only a matter of time before he found
- 31:29his way on this episode. So I think it's a great buy low.
- 31:32Let's talk about the targets. I think I think he's going to be
- 31:35a great 1 and that's a really good one.
- 31:37I think Anderson has slowed down a bit.
- 31:39It would have to take a plus, but it's in the realm of
- 31:41possibility. Um, go tier.
- 31:43I like that. I would take Tylenol for Gothier
- 31:45and then the only one I think is not gonna.
- 31:48I mean, you'd have to do a significant plus would be
- 31:50radish. I think even though he's been
- 31:52unreal, it's the sample size is small.
- 31:53Some people probably are worried about had been coming back and
- 31:57you probably picked him up off waivers.
- 31:58So like I think it would be more like radish is the plus and as
- 32:01opposed to being the main piece in the trade.
- 32:04But I think he's a good piece that can that can help you.
- 32:06So I love all the targets. Just don't think you can pull
- 32:09that off 1 for one. Yeah, I think you only want to
- 32:12maybe be done one for one is his container or Gautier.
- 32:15Yeah, even Anderson, I feel like he has like there's these type
- 32:19of guys that no matter how much they produce, they always have a
- 32:21little bit of the stink. And this guys like Radish, this
- 32:23guys like Anderson where they were waiver pickups at some
- 32:26point. And even though they're very
- 32:27valuable now and they should not be waiver pickups anymore, but
- 32:30people still attribute that kind of like name to them.
- 32:33So it's harder to do. They don't have as much name
- 32:35pull in trades even though like the production speaks for
- 32:39itself. So if you could do like Anderson
- 32:41plus like a small plus or like radish plus a small plus, like
- 32:44guys that I mentioned even in my in my targets above, like
- 32:48Anderson plus a Mulkin or Anderson plus a Velardi for
- 32:51Adaline, I feel like that could be a good deal that you can get
- 32:54done. I love the Dalene pick.
- 32:56I think he's still like a top five defenseman, especially in
- 32:59bangers league. That's really what we're talking
- 33:00about here because he has he has a perfect balance of, you know,
- 33:03giving you that points upside and also like the banker
- 33:05category coverage. And I think the power play is
- 33:08about to pop off, to be honest. We saw the power play last year
- 33:10be pretty, pretty decent and they're finally starting to get
- 33:13all the pieces surrounded. And listen, Josh Norris been
- 33:16back for three games and he has three power play points.
- 33:18So I'm just putting it out there that maybe this was the piece
- 33:22that they were missing for them to properly click.
- 33:24But. I mean, look, like getting your
- 33:27#1C back is nothing to scoff at. I don't know, like Josh Norris
- 33:31doesn't get the respect because of his health issues, but like,
- 33:33that is a big deal. So I definitely agree.
- 33:36Yeah, I'm just gonna say though, radish has been a stud like an
- 33:39insect for sure. Say in.
- 33:41Player now people. Some people will just think that
- 33:43he goes back to 0 as soon as admin is back.
- 33:45So like, even if that's not the case, the fact that people will
- 33:49attribute that sentiment to him just makes it harder to sell.
- 33:52To the Radish point, if you give it like a week of human being
- 33:55back, Radish keeps power play 1 and keeps killing it, then, you
- 33:59know, then we have a discussion there because like that's still
- 34:01obviously rather dully, but now you can be like, look, Headman
- 34:04came back and Radish is still doing it.
- 34:05So I'm not trying to sell you an asset that's immediately gonna
- 34:07crash and then you can have a discussion.
- 34:09So yeah, I think that's a more realistic way of of approaching
- 34:13it. OK, let's get.
- 34:16Into the let's get into the cell highs I'm.
- 34:18Very believe Josh is gonna do this to.
- 34:20Us Yeah, my cell high for this week is one of my besties from
- 34:25this season, Jason Robertson. And before I'm going to preface
- 34:30this by saying that he's still going to be sick this year, OK,
- 34:33I'm not. I'm not throwing any shade,
- 34:34Robertson, but let's kind of get into what's been going on here
- 34:37over the past. So you don't have a vendetta
- 34:38against him? No, not like you.
- 34:40I think I was more of. A much more.
- 34:43Of a believer. Yeah.
- 34:45The past month, Robertson has averaged 1.67 points per game .6
- 34:50power play points, 3.87 shots on goal.
- 34:53Last year he was at 1.98 points per game.
- 34:55Yeah .23 power play points and 2.57 shots on goal.
- 34:59This is one of the most insane monthly runs by a player we've
- 35:02seen in a while, and it simply cannot last.
- 35:04I'll preface this by saying that I still think her, Robertson and
- 35:07the Stars are unbelievable and going have an incredible year.
- 35:09He should do way better than he did last year, but it's
- 35:11extremely unsustainable for a player to average this many
- 35:13points and this many power play points regardless of who.
- 35:16For last year, McDavid and McKinnon both averaged around 47
- 35:19power play points, so I think it's fair to say that that is
- 35:22the ceiling of the best players in the league.
- 35:24This Dallas power play and Robertson are both incredible.
- 35:27I don't think he finishes the year higher than .4 power play
- 35:29points, which is still great, but that's .2 points less than
- 35:33he's currently doing right off the bat.
- 35:35So if you take away that point to it still brings his points to
- 35:381.47. That's 120 point pace and is 1
- 35:42crazy year where he hit above 80 points.
- 35:44Robertson got to 109 points which is 1.32 points per game.
- 35:47So if we assume Robertson will match his career highlights
- 35:50points, which is already a big assumption, than his points
- 35:53should dip by .35 and his PowerPoint should by .2.
- 35:57And that's giving him like the most benefit of the doubt
- 36:00benefited that you can give right?
- 36:01This is his ceiling ceiling ceiling.
- 36:03So while still being amazing, anytime a player is playing .35
- 36:07points above expected, they are a massive cell high.
- 36:10You should be able to get a top ten asset for Robinson right now
- 36:13and for where you drafted him that is a massive steel.
- 36:16So some good targets. Austin Matthews, David
- 36:19Pasternak, Kyle Mccarr. I think you got Connor
- 36:21Hellebuyck plus. I think you get Jack Hughes
- 36:23plus. So what I'm saying cell Roberson
- 36:26high, I'm saying you aim for like these top 10 picks in the
- 36:29draft. And I will say I know this is
- 36:31doable because I pulled off a Robertson for Austin Matthews
- 36:33trade in our league and Jake and Kevin are furious about it.
- 36:37So this can this can get done. I had to add some pieces like it
- 36:41wasn't a straight one for one, but like the it's there.
- 36:44You know, it's very rare a guy who picked in like the fourth
- 36:47round, fifth round is even. You know, it's very rare you can
- 36:49sell anyone who wasn't picked in the top 4 rounds for a top ten
- 36:54overall pick. So now it's a really good
- 36:56opportunity to do that. And a little bit of on my trade
- 36:59journey with Robertson as I sent Faber and switch Nikov for
- 37:02Robertson about a month ago and I flipped Robertson Plus for
- 37:06Matthews. So I kind of turned section
- 37:07comment to Matthews. It was basically like, remember
- 37:11that one week where well for that month, specials like line 4
- 37:15and everybody was talking about him being the worst pick in
- 37:17fantasy and then he got bumped up to like line 1 and then had
- 37:20one week of production. Josh used that one week to flip
- 37:22him for Robertson somehow. And it was just it just so
- 37:25happened to also the week that Faber had like an opportunity on
- 37:27P1 that lasted like 3 games. So yeah, that's that's just
- 37:31nuts. And then getting Robertson using
- 37:33that to flip for Matthews is just it's the perfect buy low
- 37:36sell high that we always keep talking about.
- 37:38What I will say though, however, that we're no, I don't disagree
- 37:43with your targets. Obviously you listed like some
- 37:45of the best players in the league.
- 37:46So highly recommend doing that and I think it's very feasible.
- 37:49The one thing that I wanna caveat though, is like you put
- 37:52Connor Hellebuyck there and Connor Helck was a first round
- 37:55pick and literally almost every right now, like he was by far
- 37:57the first goal he taken. But when you have a guy that's
- 37:59producing this amount of points threshold, let's say, I really
- 38:04want to capitalize on that and get points out of it because I
- 38:07feel like that's just the most inherent value you can get for a
- 38:10fantasy trade. So if you're desperate need of
- 38:13goalie, do you like targeting Hello bug.
- 38:15But when you have the opportunity to sell guidance,
- 38:16like going crazy in points for another guy that you know is
- 38:19gonna be crazy in points, but like consistent, I'd rather do
- 38:22that than take the positional advantage with the goalie.
- 38:24What about hell about? Plus what about?
- 38:27Yeah you tossing a solid like guy who could mitigate the
- 38:30points. But no, it fully depends on your
- 38:32specific. Team In my mind, I'd rather do
- 38:34like Robertson plus for Matthews than like Robertson 4 Hella Buck
- 38:38plus, yeah, Velardi or whatever. Yeah, that's fair.
- 38:42But nothing, it's a bad trade. I'm just saying like how I like
- 38:44the capitalize on the value of the of the cell high is going in
- 38:47that direction as opposed to going for the goalie.
- 38:49But if you need a goalie, like hello, bugs attainable.
- 38:52And I know people are worried about the knee when it comes
- 38:54back from injury, but I'm not that worried about it.
- 38:57I still think he's gonna be a beast.
- 38:59And we're seeing already that comedy is just not not even
- 39:02close to the same level as hell. Yeah, yeah, normally I'm
- 39:06definitely on the like you get the best player one, but I
- 39:09wanted to toss in some like health issues as well as like
- 39:11you can get couple of good guys and like the first guy you're
- 39:14getting could be all end up similar value if not better than
- 39:17Robertson. Yeah.
- 39:19Feel like you could get like maybe this is nuts but like what
- 39:23about like a hello Buck and a Marner?
- 39:26Mariners not been good. Maybe in the shallower league.
- 39:29Yeah, or anything you toss in a second guy who's like, you know,
- 39:32you don't really care about too much, but could be like
- 39:34someone's roster like that can get done, Yeah.
- 39:36Like a velocity, we put like 5 coins, the majority today so.
- 39:39Yeah. I keep going there.
- 39:44No, I mean, this is a fantastic choice because he's been a first
- 39:49round pick in the past and he's done incredible, incredible
- 39:52things in for fantasy in in almost all formats.
- 39:56So I think that there's a world in which the benefit of the
- 40:01doubt case does become a thing and he's a high second round
- 40:06pick next year and it's still worth it to sell because the
- 40:08guys that you're targeting can all get done.
- 40:11He's playing way beyond. Anything that's possible and
- 40:15Matthews, Pasternak, Mccarr, for sure, the injured guys, it's
- 40:19obviously a risk. It's a question mark.
- 40:21But I think that when it's said and done, especially Hughes when
- 40:24he's healthy versus Robertson, I'm happier with that.
- 40:27I kind of agree with Kevin here saying that like, I'd rather get
- 40:31the points back is like a top priority.
- 40:34But still, I mean, if you can get like Marner, that's like 1 I
- 40:38just said, or even like Bratton, Hella Buck, probably the
- 40:42Robertson just alone that you. Could be sick.
- 40:45Yeah, I feel like it's. But yeah, but your.
- 40:48Goalie or something and. Yeah, like a steward, Skinner
- 40:53came out at. You.
- 40:53Yeah. I mean, actually, yeah.
- 40:56No, but all this to say it's it's a fantastic choice.
- 41:00Where do you actually think if you have to?
- 41:02Assuming he plays the full season, how many points per game
- 41:05do you think is gonna end up with?
- 41:07I mean I see them being between 1.11.2.
- 41:10I don't see it. Being 95 like that.
- 41:13Yeah, I don't think he's beating his his career.
- 41:16High. I don't think he's breaking 100.
- 41:19Yeah, I mean. If you if he does, like I think
- 41:21that's where he's getting to. I think it's like it's 100 is
- 41:23like his yeah, change. Listen, do you have Dallas
- 41:26playing like this? It just feels insane.
- 41:29Yeah, sure, you just are married for a long season, right And
- 41:31like teams go on stretches like this and you're like, they're
- 41:33unbeatable like they're gonna be doing this forever, you know,
- 41:35and then all of a sudden, you know, things average out to kind
- 41:38of closer to where they're supposed to be and you're like,
- 41:40oh damn, I should have taken advantage of that.
- 41:41And that's why Bilo Sai is not easy, right, Because for
- 41:44yourself even come up with a perfect trade, but you're you're
- 41:46like, not sure if you want to do it because it doesn't never
- 41:49feels good in the moment, right? You're trading a guy who's been
- 41:52averaging 1.67 points from Matthews has been like averaging
- 41:56like .85 points per game, you know?
- 41:58So in your head, you're like, I just lost half my points, you
- 42:01know, but. That's only when you when you,
- 42:02when you think about the targets are always looking at the
- 42:04downsides. Just like he has no more Marner
- 42:06and yeah, they don't even have a power play quarterback.
- 42:08Of course, he's averaging 0.85 points per year.
- 42:10Then you trade for him and then they go back to like it just
- 42:13does the swap that you were worried about or or not worried
- 42:16about. And yeah, it's just make these
- 42:19deals. Yep.
- 42:20Alright, Kevin, who you got? All right, I'm going to go
- 42:23straight into mine. And because we've talked about
- 42:26them, I feel like on previous, so as we've kind of like held
- 42:29their name out there and been like, this is a cell high
- 42:31situation, but I'm talking about the Washington defenseman.
- 42:36I'm putting 2 names here. I'm putting John Carlson and
- 42:38Jacob Chicken because I think first of all, both are sell
- 42:40highs. But my main, my main name here
- 42:43is John Carlson. I think he's the the, the main
- 42:45guy you have to sell right now. But as we speak, he's currently
- 42:48day-to-day. So I wanted to also add in the
- 42:51fact that like I do like chicken a lot, but I do think he's also
- 42:54a cell high. Yeah, because I think Jacob
- 42:57Chicken is top 7-8 defensemen rest of season, like definitely
- 43:00top ten with what he's doing, not the fact that he's cemented
- 43:03his PB one spot on that Washington power play and
- 43:07Carlson um, if you look at his game log, he's averaging over a
- 43:11point per game over the last month, 0.08 power play points.
- 43:15It's basically nothing. So and he has the name value and
- 43:19the pedigree of like, OK, this has always been their power play
- 43:21quarterback, but now he's hurt. So I honestly think because he
- 43:25was bumped off P1 before the injury and it was just chicken
- 43:28was the only guy there meaning like, OK, the swap happened.
- 43:31Chicken is the main guy, chickens playing elite and John
- 43:34Carlson still has the production to back up like his value
- 43:38currently. But every passing day that
- 43:41happens is 1 less day or one less opportunity to sell them at
- 43:45this current value because it's not gonna be over point per game
- 43:47guys gonna be close to that, especially if you lost people
- 43:49one now. So in my mind, this is like a
- 43:52super time sensitive sell high opportunity because every day
- 43:57gets harder to do that. And like if somebody would have
- 44:00looked at the daily face software wherever you get your
- 44:02lineups and been like, OK, like John Carlson is not on P1
- 44:05anymore. I don't want to trade for him.
- 44:07The fact that he's injured now actually kind of like a blessing
- 44:09in disguise because if somebody looks up the power play unit,
- 44:12they'll be like, oh, like John Charles is not there.
- 44:14Yeah, but he's not playing. He's hurt.
- 44:15Like usually he's there. So you can use that actually in
- 44:18your negotiation tactic to be like, alright, like, yeah, you
- 44:21just heard that's why he's not there.
- 44:22But when he's healthy, he'll be there.
- 44:24So the window is small with this one.
- 44:26But even if he comes back and it's not up one, I'm trying to
- 44:28sell, sell, sell because I really do think that if they
- 44:32made the swap, and I think they did, his value goes down to like
- 44:36he'll be like a point 6.65 points per game player, no power
- 44:40play. And then he's not anything crazy
- 44:41in the in the Bangor categories that you want on your roster for
- 44:43that reason. So that was my spiel for John
- 44:46Carlson. I think he's a priority cell
- 44:48right now, one of the best priority cells because of how if
- 44:51you look at his game log, he has a lot of production in the last
- 44:53month. Now, Jacob Chicken, I think you
- 44:56could also sell high, but he's not a priority sell like John
- 45:00Carlson. I think Jacob Chicken is
- 45:02shooting tremendously. He's getting close to four shots
- 45:05a game from a defenseman. That's exactly Renski numbers
- 45:08and he's averaging almost close to a point per game.
- 45:10He's got the power play cemented.
- 45:12I really think Jacob Chicken is about to take off in terms of
- 45:14like cement himself as a top 10 fantasy defenseman, but he's
- 45:18playing so well right now. You can target these other
- 45:20defensemen that are a little bit lower.
- 45:21Like Jake mentioned, Rasmus Dahlin.
- 45:23I think you can do chicken for Dalene straight up in some
- 45:25leagues. It will take like a minor plus
- 45:27to get that done. I'm going into my targets now,
- 45:30but like Jake Sanderson I think is attainable right now.
- 45:33Like he's starting to heat up, but Chicken has the shot
- 45:36falling. That's like super tantalizing
- 45:38from a defenseman position. I think Evan Bouchard, they're
- 45:41pretty comparable as of late. But if you can do a trade where
- 45:43you know Chicken is value a little bit higher, you can make
- 45:46that happen. I think Marner cross position
- 45:48you can get that done. Marr people are disappointed
- 45:50with monitor this season like he's not.
- 45:52He'll never bang your category guy.
- 45:54And now his points not even close to a point per game.
- 45:57I think he's still a buy low. His ceiling is not what it was
- 45:59on on Toronto. We said that going into the
- 46:01season, but I would do that swap one for one and Kempe, I think I
- 46:04really like. I mean, I've talked about camp
- 46:06is one of my favorite players. Like I'm always trying to get
- 46:08him on my team very hard in our league of record to make that
- 46:10happen because the guy is also a huge campaign fan.
- 46:12But if you could do that one for one, I'm thrilled.
- 46:15I'm taking that and I'm running. So these are this is how I kind
- 46:18of feel about the Washington D situation.
- 46:20They're also clicking right now. They're top of the division last
- 46:22I checked. So I think it's an opportunity
- 46:25to just sell them as a unit. Yeah, I I love this and we've
- 46:32spoken about it on previous episodes of the fact that
- 46:34they're both doing so well, just like makes no sense.
- 46:37As you mentioned, chicken, your preferred defenseman on this
- 46:41team. I think we all agree there.
- 46:43But either way, the fact that I think that chicken still is a
- 46:48sell high and I agree with it. I'd much rather sell a Carlson,
- 46:52but it's mainly like, it's not as if one of them is going to
- 46:56become irrelevant and then one of them is just going to take
- 46:59all the points away from the other guy.
- 47:00A big part of Carlson's points because he was on the power play
- 47:03for a while. It's probably gonna be tricking
- 47:05the rest of season, especially because Washington just went
- 47:07from last place to 1st place in the Metropolitan Division and
- 47:11like, it seems like it was overnight.
- 47:13That's how tight the division still are.
- 47:14There's six points separating the top and the bottom team, so
- 47:17it's very tight. But anyways, this is all to say
- 47:20that Chikurin Chikurin and Carlson are both just going to
- 47:24get worse and all the targets dimension should be better than
- 47:27them rest of season. Dalene is easily the favorite
- 47:30because it's defensemen to defenseman and there's no
- 47:32question that I'd rather him. And I love the Mariner choice,
- 47:34too. So can you get Sanderson?
- 47:37At this point, However, you don't know if it's possible.
- 47:41I don't know what you guys think.
- 47:43But yeah, I mean, especially bullying and Marner and probably
- 47:47can't be too. That's attainable.
- 47:49Love it. Yeah, I think this is great.
- 47:51I think you could get Sanderson with Chicken, but not with
- 47:53Carlson. And uh, yeah, I think I agree
- 47:56with everything. Main thing to say, like I think
- 47:58the main thing to hammer home is Carlson.
- 48:00This is like an urgent he's going to lose so much value.
- 48:03Chicken is like he's performing slightly above what we expect us
- 48:06to season. But if you hold him, you're
- 48:07gonna be disappointed. Carlson, he could end up being a
- 48:09drop, honestly, and like a in like a month.
- 48:11So I'd really be looking to sell.
- 48:13And I love what you said about the day-to-day.
- 48:14It's such a good opportunity to have that kind of like
- 48:16explanation being like the only reason is not powerful one
- 48:19because he's injured. So fully agree.
- 48:21If you could do Carlson for Adam Fox now, given the injury, I
- 48:23think that's like a that could be like one of the best trades
- 48:27you pull off in the entire season given like the fact that
- 48:29you're trying is not P14 got you stash on IR for like the next
- 48:33month or so. But when he comes back, he's
- 48:35also like a top five, top 6, the defenseman.
- 48:37So yeah. Yeah, but I wouldn't do trick
- 48:41Trick and fraud on Fox. I mean, when they're both
- 48:45healthy, I'd rather Fox, but right now they're not both
- 48:47healthy. So yeah, alright, just getting
- 48:51your last one. Yes, OK, so this one is more
- 48:57painful for me than Leo Carlson, the one I recommended him as a
- 49:00bi lo earlier this year. I love Leo Carlson, as everybody
- 49:04knows. So this one is more painful
- 49:07because this guys on my team and I love him.
- 49:09OK, Just need to get that out of the way.
- 49:12The wall from Saint Paul, Jasper Walstad.
- 49:16Let's get into it. I saw something the other day
- 49:19that basically said this continues to set the standard
- 49:22for goaltending, which as proclaimed goalie expert of the
- 49:25bigger management Fantasy hockey podcast I totally agree with.
- 49:28I know this is going to become a running joke like Dustin Wolves
- 49:31hips not lying from last year, but the way Esper moves insane.
- 49:36In all seriousness, on top of all the stats being absolutely
- 49:40incredible, he looks steady, composed, and always in the
- 49:43right spot, which is absolutely amazing to see for a goalie,
- 49:46especially a rookie goalie. With all that coupled with the
- 49:50draft pedigree and him beating the two most.
- 49:52Two of the most, not the two most, but technically I guess
- 49:56you could say that the two best offensive teams in the league or
- 49:58the least Dallas, whatever. But he beat Avalanche and the
- 50:02Oilers and like he really destroyed them with insane
- 50:06percentages and he shut out the Oilers essentially.
- 50:10Yeah, he looks amazing IRL and for fantasy.
- 50:13In his last seven games, he's posted not one, not 2, not 3,
- 50:17not Hermione, but 4 shutouts. And in his last seven games,
- 50:22he's ours a .971 save percentage.
- 50:25And yeah, there's three kind of ways I see this turning out.
- 50:29He revolutionizes the way goaltending is played in a
- 50:32similar way to that. McDavid changed the speed and
- 50:35offence of the NHL's number 2. He's a top five goalie in the
- 50:39league. But even at that, I believe
- 50:41there's the three to four guys ahead of him that are better to
- 50:44own and attainable in a trade right now.
- 50:47Or three. He comes back to earth posting a
- 50:499:05 to 9:00 one save percentage.
- 50:51Regardless of the way it shakes out.
- 50:52And even if he becomes the McDavid of goaltending, there's
- 50:55negative regression in the future for sure.
- 50:58As a direct comparison, Hellebusch, who has been the
- 51:00best goalie to own in fantasy for the last three years, has
- 51:04averaged between .92 and .9252 percentage.
- 51:07And this is the elite of the elite in the recent era.
- 51:13Last but not least, Gustafson is still saying he's still a thing.
- 51:16And even though he lost his most recent games to the Flames and
- 51:19Savers, savers of all teams, he's still a solid goalie.
- 51:22And having both of them on Minnesota means that even if
- 51:26Walstad takes on the 1A role, he won't get the same stars as
- 51:28Chester can. Vasilevsky or Hella Buck when
- 51:31healthy will get. So I'm going to give basically 2
- 51:33tiers of targets. Tier 1 is essentially guys
- 51:35that'd be willing to get back to him in a 2 for two, which we
- 51:39always recommend. And you'd be able to get the
- 51:41second player of essentially equal value or maybe a buy.
- 51:44And then Tier 2, I think you could get like way better value
- 51:48as the second back. So tier one, OK, which is
- 51:52basically where I see one for one kind of possibility, but you
- 51:56just want to always do 2 for two.
- 51:57As we mentioned, Chesterton, Vasilevski, Hella, Buck, but
- 52:01because of the halibut injury, I think you're getting a little
- 52:03higher than the other two and probably Jake Ottinger.
- 52:06Josh and I were talking about this off the podcast, but a
- 52:09little iffy there and then Tier 2, uh, Kemper Sorokin and Logan
- 52:13Thompson. So question for you guys and
- 52:16then you can get into it. Of all the targets I mentioned,
- 52:18are there any that you simply rather whilst at over them rest
- 52:21of season? So yeah, I was gonna say Sorokin
- 52:25is the only one that jumps out to me.
- 52:26I'd rather just have all that I wouldn't take broken in that.
- 52:28OK, I think you can get Kemper and Thompson, possibly one for
- 52:31one and I'd be super happy with that.
- 52:33And then I mean, to me, I don't know what you mean by iffy on
- 52:36auto injury. If you're iffy on whether you'd
- 52:37rather odd injure than than Walstead, that's insane to me.
- 52:40But but yeah, I know it's obviously odd injured.
- 52:43No question. And the fact that you can even
- 52:45there, even the same conversation is awesome.
- 52:47Like if you can flip from one of these top tier goalies, you
- 52:48should absolutely do it. Yeah, I think, I think the only
- 52:52thing you have to say is he has four shots in his last six
- 52:54games. Everybody's talking about it
- 52:55right now. Everybody wants a piece of wall
- 52:57said if you didn't pick him up on waivers, you feel like you
- 52:59missed out on like the pick up of the season at this point.
- 53:01So it would be a disservice to not try to sell him for anything
- 53:05right now. So all the like Chester and
- 53:08Vasilevsky, hello. But these are like the elite of
- 53:10the elite fantasy goalies that I would do one for one swap if
- 53:13possible. I'd even add on top of it to get
- 53:15that done cause don't forget, listen, he's not gonna get a
- 53:18shout out for 2/3 of his games of the season.
- 53:21And also don't forget he's not stealing this job from
- 53:24Gustafson. Like JK mentioned it earlier,
- 53:26Gustafson is still gonna be playing roughly half of the
- 53:28games. So unless barring any injury or
- 53:30anything, we're not putting that into the universe.
- 53:32But yeah, I, I, I think it's a no-brainer to try to sell him
- 53:37right now. You can get like a top 2, three
- 53:39round pick if you want to get your goalie.
- 53:41Plus, I do Kemper. You can get temper straight up.
- 53:44I would make that swap, but it feels like I feel you can get
- 53:47way more than temper right now. So you can get temper plus, get
- 53:50Logan Thompson plus, or aim higher and tack on to Wallsend
- 53:54and get an elite goalie that you know is gonna be a solid guy for
- 53:57your team for the rest of the season.
- 54:00Yeah, it's it's so fun to own him.
- 54:04It's a really brutal like that's why I said this is painful for
- 54:07me to say. But like you, like you said,
- 54:09it's a disservice to not try and sell them because this is
- 54:12obviously. Unsustainable Jiggy, I'm waiting
- 54:14for you to pull off a trade in our league.
- 54:15Like, I feel like every week we talk about a guy that's on your
- 54:18team. OK, Yeah, you did like a lateral
- 54:20move. Couture out for dry Seidel.
- 54:22'S bareback. Yeah.
- 54:24And you give away tickets anyways.
- 54:25But I'm just saying, I feel we've mentioned a couple of you
- 54:27guys on the cell high appisodes recently and you haven't been
- 54:30able to pull off a trade with them like the Hegels, the wall
- 54:32studs, like I wanna see you make a deal.
- 54:34Yeah, because I have guys who keep trying to offer me Stuart
- 54:38Skinner, who I just dropped. And I've never offered you those
- 54:41guys for, for, for Angel or or Walstead.
- 54:48No. We're just sitting for gossip.
- 54:50Spare. You were like.
- 54:51The thing is like I wanna sell my God pussy so I I wanna sell
- 54:56my guys for elite players, but Josh has every elite player not
- 54:59to think. I'm gonna take them all so you
- 55:01guys can't get them. Exactly.
- 55:05So I don't know what to do. I feel like you just he
- 55:08basically took all the training out of the league.
- 55:10But yeah, I'd love to look if I could trade Hagel and Walstead
- 55:13and get something elite back, provided that they're in elite
- 55:16players left. Like Josh wouldn't do this, but
- 55:18like Hagel and Walstad for I feel like you could do that.
- 55:23For dry Sydal, No, But for Pasternak, who's hurt?
- 55:27You know you could. But he wouldn't do that.
- 55:30I don't know, but there's other guys that are not on Josh's team
- 55:33that usually trade for. Brady.
- 55:36OK, other guys that are not on drugs.
- 55:39Talk about I know there's potential there.
