- 2:53I call it the Adventure of the mischief Maker Hubert Hubert. Yes, put
- 3:08that newspaper down and finish your breakfast. Oh yes, yes, there is
- 3:14johny Good this morning the American You really perform miracles with a blow deup for
- 3:20an American, Hubert lester, You've been in this country long enough to stop
- 3:23being so patronizing now now, because I wasn't being anything of the s I
- 3:28suppose I got to get down on my knees to you because you're danged to
- 3:30marry an American. I wouldn't put it that way. Married four months already,
- 3:35you're reading newspapers at my breakfast paper. But Darling, I was merely
- 3:38looking up the situation in tea when she used to set me here from London
- 3:43to take charge of the New York Vance to stop the Tea Limited. He
- 3:46said to me, mister old chap up the situation in tea? Were you?
- 3:51You were looking at that movie stars photo? That's what that hussey was?
- 3:53The light I just happened to dance. Seems to me if you just
- 3:59happened to play, said an awful lot of female Hubert, is was be
- 4:01marriage? Oh what a nonsense, my dear. And even if I wanted
- 4:05to, which is rot, of course, you know I couldn't miss the
- 4:09scandal, my dear. I'd be given a sack, you know. So
- 4:12you just won't brook the least breath of scandal. What about you and your
- 4:15secretary in my secretary, that's spindle shanks weather beaten antique, my dear really
- 4:24well, by the way, what does that letter that arrived in the morning
- 4:32post for you? Let missus Hubert Leicester two thirty had Avenue, New York
- 4:38City? Whoever said how to piss typewriter? Broken letters out of line?
- 4:44Some off a drum? Pete, Missus Leicester, your husband Hubert is I
- 4:54knew it. I knew it, Hubert proof you were you? Let me
- 5:01see that your husband is in love with his secretary. He's needing a double
- 5:08life. Signed a friend. But I mean they say the day weather,
- 5:13but my love, you don't. You don't even sign that name. I
- 5:16scarce to know what my secretary looks like. Now, darling, I give
- 5:21you my sacred word, your sacred word out of my way? You you,
- 5:26but where are you going to time a respectable American girl? Will you?
- 5:30For you were less rock out of the boss. You so fast that
- 5:33pressures so useless if your don't think of New York represented was Carton and mister
- 5:46Blankett to meet my son and secretary? Get how do you know mister Panckett
- 5:48came in dead? For yes, the morning. Erry, he's back this
- 5:51morning for a report, report on what I send the secrie cases. Mister
- 5:56Blanket, team, my old mister Queen, and sure Lou here read this
- 6:00letter that come yesterday morning. Read it, Nikki aloud, goodness, what
- 6:03a bad machine. This was typed on broken letters, dirty out of line,
- 6:08never mind the type, and miss Porter just read it. Addressed to
- 6:14the President of the West Side Bank, three fifteen Mahattan Avenue, New York.
- 6:17It says, dear sir, the rent collector for your bank, Ethan
- 6:20A. Plunkett is a seat. You're stealing rent money on properties the bank
- 6:26owns. Signed the friends, you're the ethern A Plunkett. This anonymous letter
- 6:29refers to that's mean, mister Queen. Well, I'm sure the president of
- 6:31the bank you work for it doesn't believe this charge. Mister Plunkett, he
- 6:34don't, miss Porter seeing he's me. Mister Plunkett's only been posing as the
- 6:40real of the representative to the West Side Bank. Nikki. Secretly, Miss
- 6:43Plunkett's the president owns the bank lockstack and bar and all its properties. Protective
- 6:47coloration. Mister Queen, I kinda slew a hungry relative if they knew I
- 6:53owned the bank, they'd make a pauper of me in no time. Theller
- 6:56is mister Plunkett owns the bank. How could he be stealing rent money from
- 6:59the bank. Obviously the writer of this letter didn't know mister Punktt owned the
- 7:02bank, just tried to get him into trouble. Some tank that is Darrison,
- 7:09Vinnie, Minnie. You see. One of the properties mister Punkett owns
- 7:14is a five family brownstone on the West Side. I lived there myself,
- 7:15mister queen, Oh, Vinnie, tell her you want to find out that
- 7:19Miss bunk says, oh that cock god casse. You see, Maestro,
- 7:23the inspector sent me over to two thirty half an Avenue yesterday. You see,
- 7:27if anybody else living there got one of these letters signed a France,
- 7:30someone else got one suchet yep. One of mister Plunkett's tenants and neighbors there
- 7:33is people named Leicester. Missus Leicester's hitched to this Hubert Lester pretty shoes and
- 7:39then in this country around six months the playboy jo I mean he liked me.
- 7:43I know a friend wrote Missus Vester that hobby is being untrue to hers
- 7:46and I know it's Nikki, the missus vest packed up and now she's heading
- 7:48Garna five family have, mister Punkett. Who are the other tenants at two
- 7:54thirty haton Avenue. Well, there's miss Bertha Lamb, an old may and
- 7:57a bachelor named Hodge Lois Hotte and a family named Drayton, husband, wife
- 8:01and fifteen year old daughter. Drayton's a psychiatrist. The Plunket mister and missus
- 8:05Hubert Lester. It's Bertha Lamb, Sinster, mister Lewis Hodge, bachelor and
- 8:11doctor Drayton and family. I've got all down by nicky mister Punkett. Does
- 8:16anyone in the house bear a grudge against you? And the Lester's mighty funny
- 8:18asked that mister Queen my janitor there. Joe's a big sore head, pretty
- 8:24tough egg. Joe born on Hester Street in New York. Here he'd have
- 8:28been a gangster. I guess if we'd had more brain. But still sorry
- 8:31about mister Bunkett. Well, scenes like Joe didn't get Christmas presents enough from
- 8:37most of the tenants, including me. I slipped my mind. So Joe
- 8:41sends anonymous letter. It's hardly lessing matter Nicky, one of these letters has
- 8:46already separated a husband and wife. Yes, anonymous letters have been a lot
- 8:50of mischief in this world, if even caused death sad I think we'll look
- 8:54into this. We'll begin by asking doctor Drayton, Missus Lamb, and mister
- 8:58Hodge if they've received letters from the mischief maker who signs himself a friend.
- 9:11And there, ladies and gentlemen, you have the beginning of our mystery.
- 9:16We'll be back in just a moment to tell you more. The first and
- 9:18a chapel all for the life of a fireman. Bells clanging, men sliding
- 9:22down poles, fire trucks raising through traffic, nothing but thrills and excitement.
- 9:28Oh but that's not the way mister Thomas Burne elm versus Long Island tells it
- 9:31here right. We're caught out on the average of twice every day. Some
- 9:35of the fires don't amount to much, but when we get in on a
- 9:37real blaze, then I've got to be quick on the trigger, ready for
- 9:41anything. Besides working under a nervous strain. There or are the discomforts of
- 9:46going through heavy smokes and fumes and getting drenched by water from the hoses.
- 9:50Sometimes after a session like that, I've got a ponding headache. My stomach
- 9:54feels upset and my nerves are on edge. But I can count on Bromo
- 9:58celsa to help me feel better. A great many of us down to the
- 10:01firehouse keep a bottle of Bromo seltzer in our lockers all the time. And
- 10:05that's a mighty good idea for everybody. So Frinch, tomorrow, get a
- 10:09bottle of Bromo seltzer for your medicine chest. Then the next time you're suffering
- 10:13from a common sake headache, you'll know where to go for quick, effective
- 10:16relief. And now back to our story. An hour later, the Queens
- 10:28Nikki and Sergeant Deeley are standing before an apartment door at two thirty Hatton Avenue,
- 10:31New York City. Inspector Queen has rung the bell marks D V.
- 10:35Drayton m D. Suddenly Yes, doctor Draken, Yes, may we see
- 10:41you a moment privately? Oh for of you, I'm pretty busy. Please,
- 10:46Oh we'll come in. Let's Oh what's the matter, Hector Drayton.
- 10:58We're invitiguineous case of anonymous letter writers anonymously two people eleven in this house got
- 11:05anonymous letters yesterday morning. Did you receive such a letter, doctor Drayton,
- 11:11Yes, I did. It's see doctor very well. Yeah, the name
- 11:18broken type the blind Monday. That on the same machine as the other tent
- 11:24at Drayton. The fifteen year old daughter Sissy is in serious danger. Take
- 11:28a tip from friends at the Dreyton wanting to report this to the police.
- 11:33Your own daughter in danger? Nonsense? My wife was writened too. But
- 11:37as a psychiatrist, I'm quite familiar with anonymous letter writing. Really, doctor,
- 11:41you mean it's a psychopathic manifestation. Very often we call it anonymous graphromania.
- 11:46It's a form of hysteria, not a crime or a prank, but
- 11:50an illness. The writer of this letter is probably a neurotic, maladjusted,
- 11:54emotionally unstable individual. It would be criminal to prosecute. Well, I've handled
- 12:00something very interesting, doctor Drayken. Haven't you found that anonymous letter writers are
- 12:03often of a certain type, age and sex. Well, yes, I'm
- 12:09sure, Doctor Draken's more competent to explained if it's a case of true anonymous
- 12:15grapplemania. Why the writer is often and adolescent? Which sex? I female?
- 12:24Eurotic adolescent? Why is it that every time something bad happens men blame
- 12:30women? Aw that just as many nasty boys. Doctor. We'll keep this
- 12:35letter if we may. I prefer yes, of course. Sorry, you
- 12:43know what, I'm not stark. So that's like a number three that Let's
- 12:48call miss Bertha Lamb sincester and see if she's got number four. Miss Lamb
- 13:01don't want any madam, keep that door open. We from police headquarters.
- 13:03I'd want to take it to the policeman's ball. I'm not selling anything,
- 13:05miss Line. Let it come into your apartment for a few minutes. I
- 13:07will not How do I know your policeman? What's the painted girl doing with
- 13:11you? Why not? Sor? I didn't show Miss Lamb your She is
- 13:16here if you want to see. The inspector says it's gold santus Ryan,
- 13:20welcome and what do you want? Have you received an anonymous letter, Miss
- 13:24Lambs? Anonymous letter? I should say not? They have your neighbors have
- 13:28received such? Let as Miss Lambers well considered the neighbors. I'm not surprised
- 13:31you take the lesters. That englishman and his vulgar American wife. She's a
- 13:35nasty woman, and as for her husband, you just let me catch mister
- 13:39Hubert Lester make an eyes at me at you, Miss Lake, Well he
- 13:43better not. I have the blood of American pioneers in my bass. What
- 13:46about mister Pumpkin, that awful gang rent Sellector. He lives in one of
- 13:50the apartments, so you think he's see you with my bathroom plumbing stick,
- 13:54but not even trunk it. What in the way he will spend their money?
- 13:56You think he owed the bang? Yeah? Unt you and doctor Drayson
- 14:01and his family, Oh horrible people. Missus Drayton's an absolute pill. Comes
- 14:05from the Midwest, somewhere always knock in New York. And doctor Drayson,
- 14:09they're both in the same hometown. Why he ought to be rolling tails back
- 14:13where he comes from and knows he I don't know how many times he's asked
- 14:16me about my dream. I'd tell him your blamy pie. Missus Lamb fifteen
- 14:22year old daughter of their city. If ever I saw wom in my life,
- 14:26that child is won absolutely weird, very homely. We're's thick glasses,
- 14:31stays home all the time, reading nasty books attended. That girl gives me
- 14:35the shivers. And miss Lammy, the only person in this entire house fit
- 14:39to eat in person's neighbor? Is that brand? Mister Hodge so nice?
- 14:43A bachelor you know, keeps to himself for a man. So shut well,
- 14:48thanks, miss Lamb. We've got to be going. Let me tell
- 14:50you about mister Hodge. He never throws wild hot. So I know that
- 14:58miss Bertham didn't get a letter. Hmm interesting, Let's see if her dear
- 15:01mister Hodge did bring again? Oh, sergeant feeling downstairs? The best Joe
- 15:16the janitor there raise anyway, I'm home. We'll have to come back later.
- 15:20That and I told you to give me that. Don't get top Joe
- 15:24a right? Falks? Look what I found city? What are you doing
- 15:26with that typewrit? Who is it? Where'd you find? The sergeant?
- 15:28And a trays been on the basement When I went down to get this top
- 15:31mug janitor, I almost passed it up as a piece of jumps. Certainly
- 15:35an old baby ellery that the type, no doubt about it, Nikki.
- 15:39This is the machine used to type those anonymous letters Joe out of line?
- 15:45How did type of outc count to be in your basement this house? Who
- 15:46are you? Grandpa? Wise guy? And hey, huh I don't know.
- 15:54I never seen it before. You're the juristive an anonymous letter? Yes,
- 16:00good morning. What's a letter with no name, just signed a friend.
- 16:03I don't get no letters. I'm just good janitor. He just mad
- 16:07enough to play dumb joll Yeah, how do you make up this Christmas?
- 16:11I'll bet you got us presents and people in the house. Ye present,
- 16:15No, they're all type wise a part of lamb Dame. She'd give me
- 16:19two bucks without another time from nobody else. Be a good janitor, worked
- 16:25like a horse comes Christmas time. Nothing. I got a good mine up
- 16:30to collect that garbage. Yes, yehk you with me, Joe, he
- 16:34ain't. Then they's type by the downtown to be fires. Let's go to
- 16:37some restaurant around here where we can have some lunch and talk this resky case
- 16:41over. Oh, I can see me that on headquarter, Sergeant. But
- 16:52we brought dad an't like gallery figure. The boys didn't take up a single
- 16:56other letter signed ay friend anywhere else in the night book, and only the
- 17:00tenants of two thirty happened. Aven I got anonymous letters. We's son with
- 17:04the type right of fane in the basement of the house where the writer has
- 17:07tried to dispose of it in the basement being accessible only to the tenant.
- 17:08Yes, Dad, it means the letter writer is one of the tenants of
- 17:11two thirty Hatton Avenue. I think did somebody go to all that trouble just
- 17:15maliciously to make mischief? Maybe he's only making a look like crime stuff.
- 17:19Hi to my motives, bev he as mister Punkett. Just walking in,
- 17:26mister Plunkett. Eh, oh, hi, folks, I am just come
- 17:30in for some lunch. My bank's just on the next block. You know,
- 17:33well find out who's writing those letters, inspector. They're still working at
- 17:37it. Mister Puckett. We haven't even been able to see all your tenants
- 17:40of two thirty Hadton Avenue, Lewis Hodge. It didn't answer a ring.
- 17:44Oh what do you know about Hodge, mister Punckett. Nice fellow, mister
- 17:47Queen quiet, minds his own business. I wish all my tenants was like
- 17:51that fellow Hard. I wonder if he got one of those letters Hodge.
- 17:55Of course he didn't, so I mentioned it thought it did must be getting
- 18:00No have you know Hard got one of the letters, mister Punkee, because
- 18:02I saw it in his leather box yesterday morning with my own eyes, inspector,
- 18:06good mistake that type rden SAME's on the envelope by God. Then of
- 18:10course you don't know what it said, mister Punkett. What flew his heart
- 18:12to do for a living? Nothing? Right now? The fact is he's
- 18:15behind in his rant. Only last week I said to him, mister Hodge,
- 18:21E ain't a man to kick a fellow when he's down. He's like
- 18:23you jump matter. Hodg out of words behind his rent facing aviction, received
- 18:27one of those mischief making letters yesterday morning. Come on, mister Punkeett,
- 18:30it's got to get into Hodges's apartment of plunt. God still isn't that don't
- 18:45not his do miss Buncket. But I didn't tell him nothing about e victim
- 18:48him and to dog him up, didn't I? Sonnet can't seen the sergeant
- 18:53unlocked the door. Take the keip of miss Plunker. Take you and miss
- 18:56Brunket better staff in the heart. Will we take a look? I are
- 19:02hitting room empty. But letter on the table looks like one of the same
- 19:06crops type on that old wreck of a machine to Lewis Hodge. This address
- 19:11to Hodge the cops are watching you. You can't get away. Signed a
- 19:17friend, some friend her is Hodge? Anyway, door over, there must
- 19:21be his bedrooms and I slacked. We better force it dead? Are one
- 19:26side? Gents again? Oh? Yes, on the bed dead for at
- 19:36least twenty four hours, I'd say, got through the weft, temper,
- 19:37Gunstone's hand and doos and doors locked on the inside. So it can't be
- 19:41anything but suicide. Have blasted leathered rope Hodge to suicide. Yes, last
- 19:47friend, the mischief maker, has caused a death. Hello, what's up?
- 20:02Then taking us two days? But we finally identified Lewis Hodge identified him
- 20:06an escaped convict serving a life sentence for murder born in Cincinnati, was doing
- 20:10his stretch in an Ohio pen when he managed to make a break he's been
- 20:12holding up in New York. Yea. His royal name was James Lewis Hodgkiss,
- 20:15escape convict. No wonder, mister Hodge was such a model tenant.
- 20:19Yes, he must have been at the end of his rope broke the trade
- 20:22might be recognized and sent back to prison. Hodgekiss undoubted. They lived in
- 20:26constant fear that anonymous letter saying the police were watching him, broke his nerve
- 20:30and he took the easy way out. How did the letter writer know who
- 20:34he was? Probably never know, NICKI. They recognized him and having seen
- 20:38his photo somewhere all right, might have been a complete chat in the dark.
- 20:41Anyway, we're back when we started from. Who sent the letter that
- 20:45drove Hodge to suicide? Who wrote to missus Leicester and broke up our marriage?
- 20:48Who wrote doctor Drayton and his fifteen year old daughter was in danger?
- 20:52Who wrote on man conquer trying to get him in trouble with the bank?
- 20:55A friend, I think it's hope. Dad. Have you got those letters
- 20:59on file? Here? Yeah? The envelope to Dad. Thanks. We're
- 21:07looking him over again for all before. Oh I ought to have my eyes
- 21:11examined here. It was all this time and I didn't see it. Shouldn't
- 21:15they? One mindstrong? Look at these four envelopes, don't you see?
- 21:18There's one thing all four addresses have in common. A clue. A clue
- 21:22in the addresses, the same clue in the addresses for the one mister Punts
- 21:26addressed to the bank, the one to Missus Wrestler, Doctor Drayton, and
- 21:30Lewis Hodge who addressed the apartment house the addresses walk correct out? Great,
- 21:34there's one erasure on each enditor right there and in the same place in each
- 21:38case. Sorry, that's right. Some typewriter character. One character is in
- 21:45a race just after the house number on each engine, between the house number
- 21:48and the name of the strait. I wonder what was erased. Can't make
- 21:52it out, can you know, Dad? But I know what was the
- 21:53race? Just the same? Yes, And that tells me the identity of
- 21:57the mischief maker who wrote these anonymous letters. And there, ladies and gentlemen,
- 22:12you have the mystery. Have you figured it out yet? Well?
- 22:15Suppose you compare solutions with our guest armchair detectives. Nikki, Will you please
- 22:19introduce our guests. Well, Allie, Our first guest tonight is Miss Jenney,
- 22:25being a nursing training at New York Saint Vincent's Hospital with the United States
- 22:30Cadet Nurse Corps. Our second guest is mister Peter Cussett, Executive Secretary of
- 22:36the National Foundation for Infant out Paralysis, Ms. Bean. After you've considered
- 22:41your cadet nurse training, you become a nurse in the enforces. Well,
- 22:45Niki, either there or a nurse in public service on the home front.
- 22:48We can select any branch of nursing, military or home front, as long
- 22:52as it's essential. The Cadet Nurse Corp has quite a plan, is yes,
- 22:56Llery. And I think it's a wonderful opportunity for me. I get
- 23:00a lifetime education. Three. All right, you are well, mister Cusack.
- 23:04How's so much of Dime's doing. Thinks you'll reach your goal this year?
- 23:07Well, frankly, Ellie, we don't set a goal to see.
- 23:11Our work in combating intantare paralysis is so vital to the welfare of American children
- 23:15that we can use every diamond dollar. It's a never ending fight, isn't
- 23:18it. Yes, But one of these days we're going to wipe out the
- 23:21dread disease, and that day can't come too soon. Now, let's solve
- 23:25our mystery. It's Bean who wrote the anonymous letters. I think doctor Drayton.
- 23:32And why do you think well, because he hesitated so much in answering
- 23:36the questions, and he didn't report his letters to the police forces the others
- 23:40did. Thank you, miss Bean. And I'm mister Cusack. Who do
- 23:42you think wrote the anonymous letters? I think it was doctor Drayken's daughter,
- 23:47mister Queen, who was described by missus Lamb as being very weird. Why
- 23:52do you think that? Well, Miss Lamb said that she stayed home all
- 23:56the time reading strange books, and I think she probably found access to her
- 24:03father's scientific books and that her imagination started to work. Thank you, mister
- 24:10Cusack and miss B. You'll find in just a moment whether you've solved our
- 24:14mystery correctly and now earnest chapter friends or United States Caretner's Core information right in
- 24:21care of box eighty eight, New York City. If you can qualify,
- 24:25you'll do your country a great service and build yourself a future through the United
- 24:27States cad Thattnur's Core. And don't forget the March of Dimes. Send your
- 24:33dimes and dollars now to help write infantile Paralysis right, get that away now.
- 24:45We know that the four anonymous letters all came the same morning. They
- 24:48must all have been typed at the same time. We also know that an
- 24:52addressing the four envelope, the writer type a single character of some sort between
- 24:56the house number and the name of the street. And in all four cases,
- 24:59if for mailing the letters he erased that character. Now, what were
- 25:03those typewriter characters he put in and then took out with the different characters in
- 25:07each case, I'd say it was the same character in each case because at
- 25:11least three or the four addresses were identical, and the eraser occurs in exactly
- 25:14the same spot on the four endrop right there. So it was the same
- 25:17character. So what characters it? Let's figure it out together. What other
- 25:21possibilities? Well, the erase character could have been a numeral like one or
- 25:25side yes, or it could have been a letter of the alphabet like the
- 25:27US right, or it could have been a special mark and danna signer percent
- 25:32or any of the other special keys on a typewriter. Or finally, it
- 25:34could have been a punctuation mark. Now, the erasure in each case occurred
- 25:38just after the house numbers. Could the character have been a numeral? That
- 25:42would mean that the writer originally typed the wrong house NUMBERRELLERI one the four numbers
- 25:47instead of three, like two three oh five instead of two three old exactly,
- 25:51Nickie. How could the writer have typed the wrong house number? You
- 25:53know, with someone in two thirty half an avenue? He certainly knew his
- 25:56own address, So the erase character was the numeral? Was it a letter
- 26:00of the alphabet? Might have been the between the house number and the name
- 26:03of the street. So they could have been a wrong letter to start the
- 26:07name of the street. Now we knew his house number, they knew the
- 26:10name of the street. Door better dad, right, Sargeant. So the
- 26:11erased character wasn't a letter of the alphabet either. Well, I certainly couldn't
- 26:15have been a dollar sign or remark like that. No, Nikki, a
- 26:18special mark in that particular spot and address would make no sense at all.
- 26:22Okay, So the character arrays must have been a punctuation map, the same
- 26:25punctuation mass. But which punctuation map? Well that do we use punctuation marks
- 26:30after the street number in an address? Who's we? The people? We?
- 26:34Americans? American? Certainly not? You mean those countries where they go,
- 26:38yes, Sargeants. In certain foreign countries, it's accepted practice to put
- 26:41a comma after the street numbers two thirty Hatton Avenue. Citizens of those countries
- 26:47would write two three old comma Patton Avenue. So I knew the erase characters
- 26:52must have been common. They'd been erased after typing them in the writer realized
- 26:56they portrayed his foreign origins. Question, who at two thirty Hatton Avenue is
- 27:02not an American? Mister Blunket a Yank the Drayton Midwesterners, Miss Broth the
- 27:07land of American Pioneers. Lewis hard or hot Kists born in Cincinnati, Ohio.
- 27:12Gere the Janitor born in Hester Street, New York City. Missus Lester
- 27:17an American Hubert Lester her husband and write nicky Hubert Lester in this country only
- 27:23six months, not long enough to have broken himself of his English punctuation habits.
- 27:29So I knew it was Hubert Lester who wrote that letter to his wife,
- 27:32accusing himself of being untrue to her. But why am I stack Well,
- 27:34sergeant? Obviously Lester decided he'd made a serious error in marrying Missus Lester.
- 27:41This was his devious way of getting her to divorce him, instead of
- 27:44giving her the actual grounds, which might have caused a scandal and the loss
- 27:47of his job. And why invest to send those letters to the other people
- 27:49in the house obviously dead a diverse suspicion to himself to make the writer seem
- 27:53to be some one of a disease or disturbed mind. That chronic and indiscriminate
- 27:57mischief mission. I imagine Lester had in mind putting the blame on doctor Drayton's
- 28:03unhappy and you'rerotic fifteen year old daughter type often responsible for anonymous letters. Yes,
- 28:07Lester is a mischief maker in this case, said, I'm sure you
- 28:11can dig up some charge to make him pay for it. And there,

- 31:27another Ellery Queen plot where a murder is not at the core of the mystery,
- 31:33though a death did occur in the process of that. And it's definitely
- 31:41a different sort of series. I know we'd received an email from a listener
- 31:45I read a couple of weeks back talking about how they had enjoyed Easy Money

- 32:15I listened to a lot of old time radio podcast and Adam's podcast is by
- 32:21far the best one that I found. The audio quality is far better than

- 32:35reflected in the time, effort, and care that he dedicates to producing this
- 32:38show on a daily basis. Adam, thank you for all the hard work
