Major League Baseball opening day, it's one of the best days

So I'll explain to you why I'm taking that approach to Major

I'm looking at a couple teams here, a couple dogs, hopefully

what's going on in the the betting market and then also

look at some good, some good indicators here in terms of a

rhythm edge as well. So going into it, we have BYU 26

and 9 on the year. They are the six seed.

The Cougars just upset Wisconsin 91 to 89 in the second round.

They won that game outright as a 1 1/2 point neutral site dog.

You know, Alabama 27 and 8, They're the two seed that just

crushed Saint Mary's 80 to 66 in the second round.

Easily covered that game as a 5 1/2 point neutral site favorite.

So what are we seeing across the market here?

Well, this game opened with Alabama listed around a four and

a half point favorite and this has been kind of a sneaky kind

of back and forth line move here.

I think it's important not to just look at open to current,

but always try to preach the importance of looking at every

move in between and what those moves you know, up, down or or

lack of movement really tell you.

So in terms of this line move, we saw this game, as I

mentioned, open Alabama -4 1/2 on a neutral site and early on

in the week. This is why you again, you want

to kind of wait to see where late movement breaks because

that's what limits are raised in.

The biggest bets come in. But early on, it looked like a

clear Alabama play. The Crimson Tide open -4 1/2 got

bet up all the way to -5 1/2. However, over the last 24 hours

or so, especially on game day, it's been nothing but sharp BYU

buyback. So all those Alabama -5 1/2's

are pretty much down to five and the majority of the market is

even now down to 4 1/2. So the early move was toward

Alabama. All the late breaking movement

is coming back toward BYU. And that movement is important

to me again because game day movement is huge.

Doesn't mean every game day move will win, but you always want to

be with the game day movement if you can help it because that's

clear position. But what I noticed is that BYU

is a contrarian play. BYU is only getting 43% of

So really sharp, low bets, higher dollars bet split at

Now couple things going on BYU, I'm going to bank on a few

things. We all know Alabama is an

incredible offensive team, but BYU isn't a big slouch on their

They have the better effective field goal percentage, 6th in

the country versus 11th for Alabama.

They actually shoot the three better, 28th in the country

versus 116th for Alabama. And they force more turnovers on

And we do know Alabama is a very fast team, their first in the

Of course, they're the one seed. They just crushed Baylor 89 to

market here? Well, this game opened with Duke
