- 0:01Hey everybody, welcome to the good morning from the Chicken
- 0:04Coop podcast. My name is Kim Johnson and I am
- 0:07a mastermindset coach, creative strategist, and also happen to
- 0:10be a farmer. This is my chicken coop and I
- 0:12come out here every day to record a podcast to teach
- 0:16distinctions, possibilities, new ways of thinking, and just bring
- 0:20some joy into the world. So welcome to the coop and let's
- 0:23start your day off in a fantastic way.
- 0:27Hey everybody, good evening. On my walk out to put the girls
- 0:31away, it is dusk, pretty close to it, and I walk out here every
- 0:39night and do a head count check on everybody.
- 0:42I've said this on here before, but I'm actually taking the walk
- 0:46with you and I'm recording tonight because you know,
- 0:48tomorrow morning it will be dark early.
- 0:50So we're taking care of it now and right at the door there's
- 0:53Samantha standing there waiting for me like she does every
- 0:56night, always waiting to see where I'm going to be.
- 0:59And they all have their personalities.
- 1:01Hi Sammy. What's happening?
- 1:03It's time to go to bed. And then she turns around and
- 1:06goes in. So tonight we are talking about
- 1:11something that I think is important and it is the little
- 1:15things that make you happy, IE flowers.
- 1:18Things like that are not frivolous.
- 1:21So I had someone talk to me about that recently and said,
- 1:24well, I don't like to spend money on things that are
- 1:27frivolous, even though it brings me joy.
- 1:30And I understand both sides of this.
- 1:31I really do. Because you look at it and you
- 1:33say, well, these flowers are going to die very quickly.
- 1:38And I plant flowers and then something happens and you know,
- 1:42they will if I leave them on, you know, out there in the
- 1:46field, they actually die. Sorry if you can hear my son in
- 1:49the background on that motorcycle that he rebuilt, but
- 1:52it is loud and he is out there riding up and down the road.
- 1:55The disadvantage of recording at night when everybody is around.
- 1:59Anyway, so back to the flowers. So this whole comment about it
- 2:03being something frivolous and being something that is wasteful
- 2:08and not wanting to spend money on it.
- 2:09Now I, I, like I said, I can, I can handle hearing both sides of
- 2:13this because I've been in the position where I haven't had
- 2:16money to buy something and said to myself, well, this is
- 2:19frivolous. I don't need this.
- 2:21But here's the thing, it's about elevating energy and it's about
- 2:25being practical at the same time.
- 2:27So when you start to elevate your energy, you do want to have
- 2:31things that elevate it. And sometimes having those
- 2:34little flowers around and just seeing that bright burst of joy
- 2:39does something for you that brings you to a whole different
- 2:42level energetically. And when that happens, all of a
- 2:45sudden magic starts to happen because you're not down in the
- 2:49weeds, so to speak. You're not in the emotional
- 2:52weeds anymore. You're feeling good about things
- 2:55based on the fact that, you know, you're starting to elevate
- 2:58yourself. So whether it's a book, whether
- 3:01it's a magazine, now magazines can seem very frivolous to
- 3:04people. I still buy magazines quite
- 3:06often based on the fact that I love to look through them and
- 3:10then cut things out from my vision boards.
- 3:13So they're not frivolous at all because they're helping me
- 3:15create maps that make me feel extraordinary.
- 3:18Flowers never make me feel like I'm wasting money because I know
- 3:23that the whole time they're there, I'm going to do
- 3:25everything I can to keep them as fresh as I can by trimming off
- 3:29the bottoms every day or two days and making sure I put in
- 3:33fresh water and giving them everything that they can to get
- 3:36them to last a couple of weeks. And amazingly, it works.
- 3:40And again, the whole part of this is it's about elevating my
- 3:46energy because if I'm seeing them and I walk through and I'm
- 3:49feeling joy, then that means I'm, I'm emitting joy, which
- 3:53means I'm attracting joy. It's a cyclical process when we
- 3:57do this stuff. So it's very important to
- 3:59remember that you have access to that and you can tap into it.
- 4:03Now, I, I say this coming in because right now is a time
- 4:07where you can actually go out and buy some seeds and put them
- 4:11in a pot and grow your own flowers.
- 4:13And the joy in that and well, first of all, it is much cheaper
- 4:17than buying flowers. But the joy in that is never
- 4:21frivolous. It's something that expands.
- 4:24And that's what this is all about.
- 4:26It's figuring out how to tap in and expand and feel more vibrant
- 4:31and to feel more connected and to feel more expansive.
- 4:36And when you do that, when you tap into that, it is truly
- 4:42miraculous what happens in your world and how you can shift
- 4:47yourself very, very quickly. Little tiny things, the smallest
- 4:51of small acts make all the difference.
- 4:53When I walk out here and I see Samantha standing at the door
- 4:57and I get to say hi Sammy because she's waiting for me,
- 5:00that one little thing that that one little chicken does every
- 5:04day makes me smile and just make me want to pick her up and
- 5:07squeeze her and love her. It's just a small little tiny
- 5:11thing, but it's not frivolous. It's not something to be
- 5:16overlooked. It's not something to be
- 5:18ignored. It's not something to to shy
- 5:20away from and not pay attention to.
- 5:22This is what life is all about, my friends.
- 5:25It's tapping into those things so, you know, get yourself some
- 5:28flowers, get yourself those little things.
- 5:30Get the book and enjoy it and have gratitude for it because it
- 5:35is expansive and it does grow. All right, my friends, I hope
- 5:38you have a blessed night and a great day in the morning and I
- 5:42will see you tomorrow. Bye.
