- 0:22SPEAKER_00: When you're passionate about what you do, it's hard to stop.
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: Ask any writer who loves writing and they can attest that it can be hard to let your foot off the gas pedal and take a break, especially if you're feeling some measure of success or you simply just really like what you're doing.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: It's really, really hard to do this when you value and practice a writing habit.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: If it's something you do on a daily basis, it's hard to take a break.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: And like all habits, if practiced to the extreme, it can actually start to be harmful.
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: For example, exercising is good, but you can't exercise 24 hours a day or your body is going to fall apart.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: So it's important to build in times of rest when you can take a break from your writing.
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: Those breaks can be just as important as the times when you're active, because without breaks, your creativity doesn't have time to marinate.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: Plus, nobody likes a workaholic or somebody who only talks and thinks about their work all the time.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: It's not good to live an unbalanced life.
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: Your health, your mental energy, and your very life might depend on it.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: So these next few days after Christmas are a great opportunity to relax, take a breather and to catch your breath.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: There's more to life than just getting your writing done.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: Here's today's question: How do you plan on spending the next few days before New Year's?
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: I hope that you plan on taking some downtime and having a bit of a break.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: Hey, before I go, I want to let you know that today's episode is brought to you by the Daily Rider Club.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: You've heard me talk about the club before, so I probably don't need to rehash all the things that I've said about it because I talk about it a lot.
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: And the reason I do is because I really believe this group can help you.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: I put a lot of time and energy into leading the Daily Rider Club.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: Our members put a lot of time and energy into showing up for the calls and the writing sprints, engaging in the community, and my goodness, we've had so many cool successes, even just in the last few months.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: We've had several people release books.
- 2:13SPEAKER_00: People are doing podcasting, they're doing blogging, they're doing client work, they're increasing their income with what they're doing.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: It's just really, really exciting to see.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: So if you want to kick off the new year with a super amazing boost to your productivity, to your focus, and getting some great accountability and building good friendships and relationships with writers, whew, I guess I need to take a break because I I don't think I breathed in the last 30 seconds.
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: If all that sounds good to you, then I really want to encourage you to check out the Daily Rider Club.
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: It's a great group.
