- 0:16Speaker 1: I've gotten several messages over the last little bit. The
- 0:21Speaker 1: main page now is Spricker, and I thought especially Apple podcast. Okay,
- 0:28Speaker 1: I'm just gonna explain this. So the Apple podcast, I
- 0:31Speaker 1: thought I could just sync up my Apple podcast that
- 0:34Speaker 1: already that has existed for quite some time and it
- 0:37Speaker 1: would just go right into that. I still think I'm
- 0:40Speaker 1: going to be able to do that, but I'm having
- 0:42Speaker 1: some issues. Okay, so if you just searched rope Adope
- 0:46Speaker 1: Radio podcast on Apple podcasts or other platforms, but especially
- 0:51Speaker 1: Apple podcasts, I'm actually having the problem with it. It
- 0:54Speaker 1: will it's still there. So right now there's two of them.
- 0:57Speaker 1: I'm trying to fix that. I've been having some issues.
- 1:01Speaker 1: But that's the deal. It's not updating in that that
- 1:05Speaker 1: the old one. Hopefully you know, hopefully you guys figured
- 1:10Speaker 1: that out. But yeah, rope a Dope radio podcast. The
- 1:15Speaker 1: main basis Spricker. We are now on Spotify, but you
- 1:19Speaker 1: can find it on Apple Podcasts. iHeart Radio Player FM
- 1:25Speaker 1: all that good stuff. Okay, download the podcast app. So yeah,
- 1:30Speaker 1: make sure you check it out. Like I said, hopefully
- 1:33Speaker 1: I'm gonna fix that. I don't know what the hell,
- 1:36Speaker 1: why the hell, but anyway, Spricker is the main page.
- 1:39Speaker 1: But yeah, deezer, a lot of a lot of places.
- 1:42Speaker 1: I was always there. You know. I'm just kind of
- 1:45Speaker 1: in the transformation thing and I'm having computer issues, which
- 1:49Speaker 1: I'm I now have a new computer in route. Okay,
- 1:53Speaker 1: so that's part of the problem. Anyway, while you're at it,
- 1:56Speaker 1: head on over to the Gruelingtruth dot Com, fill Boxing
- 2:00Speaker 1: and east Side Boxing, And I just want to thank
- 2:03Speaker 1: you guys through this little transition. Didn't mean to throw
- 2:07Speaker 1: you guys off. I'm sure you know. Hopefully it just
- 2:10Speaker 1: starts updating there and then you'd be like, oh shit,
- 2:13Speaker 1: you know, but I appreciate everybody that reached out. But yeah,
- 2:16Speaker 1: I don't I don't know what to tell you. I
- 2:18Speaker 1: thought i'd just transfer it over no problem, and it
- 2:21Speaker 1: would just go right to that feed, and and for
- 2:24Speaker 1: whatever reason, it's not. Okay anyway, one more, one more

- 3:20Speaker 1: sixty channels one twenty nine ninety nine per month. That's
- 3:26Speaker 1: Direct TV stream All right, We're gonna obviously, you know,
- 3:34Speaker 1: definitely uh recap from you know, from some items over
- 3:41Speaker 1: the weekend. Derek Chesoora did his thing as a slight underdog.
- 3:47Speaker 1: I definitely hit on that one. That was nice. What
- 3:52Speaker 1: was it a plus? Was it a plus one sixty
- 3:57Speaker 1: eight or one eighty eight or one? I think was
- 4:01Speaker 1: the highest one. I don't think I bet that one,
- 4:03Speaker 1: But anyway, I don't think I could in this state
- 4:06Speaker 1: but anyway, that was a nice little hit. Now chasas
- 4:10Speaker 1: talking about what's next, so we'll talk a little bit
- 4:12Speaker 1: about that fight. There was an upset on that card.
- 4:17Speaker 1: I guess you could say two of them, so we'll
- 4:20Speaker 1: talk a little bit about that. I'll mention the pro
- 4:22Speaker 1: box fights as well. On Friday and Saturday, we got
- 4:27Speaker 1: some interesting fights coming up. Branchick Davis that's on esp
- 4:32Speaker 1: and ESPN Plus along with the undercard that'll be Friday
- 4:37Speaker 1: Saturday is Catterall or Boza Junior plus more. You know,
- 4:43Speaker 1: items from the weekend end that card, h it's interesting,
- 4:48Speaker 1: you know Davis and Brentshick. You know Brinschick is you know,
- 4:53Speaker 1: considering he's got a belt, he is a pretty big underdog.
- 5:00Speaker 1: So I mean, if you do like Brenschick, I would
- 5:02Speaker 1: definitely put some money on him because he's a pretty
- 5:05Speaker 1: big dog, like I said, Whereas the Caterall Barbosa is
- 5:09Speaker 1: a much closer fight on on paper. So we'll definitely
- 5:14Speaker 1: preview and predict what's going on this weekend. In this
- 5:19Speaker 1: great February that we have in boxing, we do have
- 5:24Speaker 1: some Canello news to get to a four fight deal.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Turkey was putting out fake news and then it wasn't fake.
- 5:34Speaker 1: And speaking of fake getting faked out, Jake Paul and
- 5:37Speaker 1: Netflix got faked out from Canelo and Williams. Skull is
- 5:45Speaker 1: his opponent. So I'll give you my thoughts on that
- 5:48Speaker 1: whole debacle right off the bat, just real quick. It's
- 5:55Speaker 1: pretty shaky. It's real, shisty, real. Let's let's just say
- 6:00Speaker 1: it messed up, dude, Like, I'll get into the Canela
- 6:06Speaker 1: stuff you know later, but Turkey buys the Ring magazine
- 6:13Speaker 1: and then puts out fake news like and it's just
- 6:20Speaker 1: it's just hush among upmost of a lot of writers.
- 6:23Speaker 1: It's like, dude, seriously, could you imagine if well, we
- 6:29Speaker 1: won't get into it, we won't get into it. Now
- 6:31Speaker 1: there's pushback for his opponent. There was pushback for you know,
- 6:36Speaker 1: fighting Jake Paul. A lot of people thought that was
- 6:39Speaker 1: gonna hurt boxing. I don't know, man, Well, well, i'll
- 6:46Speaker 1: give you my my thoughts on it. No doubt about it.
- 6:48Speaker 1: I did see. You know. It's a four fight deal.
- 6:52Speaker 1: One over there this year in May, one here in
- 6:56Speaker 1: September against Crawford, but the other two fights will be
- 6:59Speaker 1: insiding next year. I wish it was one and one,
- 7:04Speaker 1: and I guess, I guess there's potential for that. Still,
- 7:08Speaker 1: we can't we can't completely rule that out, but I
- 7:12Speaker 1: would prefer one in one. That's a pretty basic thing.
- 7:15Speaker 1: But anyway, there was a news item that came up
- 7:18Speaker 1: we'll talk about as well. ESPN partying ways are top
- 7:25Speaker 1: rank according to a source, so we'll talk about that,
- 7:28Speaker 1: not my source. We've been talking about that deal for
- 7:32Speaker 1: about a year, year and a half something like that.
- 7:35Speaker 1: And will they keep it? You know, I don't think
- 7:41Speaker 1: it's fake news per se, even though we've had some
- 7:44Speaker 1: fake news and we get a lot of bullshit stuff
- 7:48Speaker 1: in boxing sometimes, right, But I think they'd come out
- 7:55Speaker 1: and say no, we're still in negotiations if it was,
- 7:58Speaker 1: if it was correct, But maybe I'm wrong. You never know, right,
- 8:03Speaker 1: So there's others, you know, there's other news out there.
- 8:07Speaker 1: The PBC just announce a card. Carlos Ottomas is now
- 8:12Speaker 1: good to go, but it seemed like it was a
- 8:15Speaker 1: shaky situation for him trying to go over to Sadi
- 8:18Speaker 1: for his fight. So yeah, we'll talk about that, and
- 8:21Speaker 1: of course we'll we'll have a little boxing Twitter stuff too,
- 8:24Speaker 1: a lot of a lot of boxing Twitter, you know,
- 8:28Speaker 1: good tweets, not just all fan boys, but a whole
- 8:32Speaker 1: lot of interesting fanboy stuff too. So let's let's start man,
- 8:38Speaker 1: let's start with uh, let's start with the weekend, right
- 8:44Speaker 1: especially chesa Jaileen me chasa ship. I thought he was
- 8:53Speaker 1: gonna gas. I know, after the fight he was like,
- 8:56Speaker 1: and don't get me wrong, he got tired, but just
- 8:58Speaker 1: after that first round, because he was saying, man, I
- 9:01Speaker 1: thought he I'd wear him down and get him really gassed.
- 9:04Speaker 1: And it was like, dude, after that first round, it
- 9:07Speaker 1: was like, oh my god, dude, you just you can't
- 9:11Speaker 1: have every realm like that. Dude, you're gonna you're gonna
- 9:14Speaker 1: gash yourself out because he came out and you know,
- 9:19Speaker 1: I'll say this the body punching, because it was just
- 9:22Speaker 1: a bunch of body worked throughout the fight, but especially
- 9:25Speaker 1: in that first round. The first handful of shots or
- 9:30Speaker 1: even flurries didn't look like they had a lot on
- 9:33Speaker 1: him per se, But then each and everyone after that
- 9:37Speaker 1: it felt you could feel it. You could almost feel
- 9:39Speaker 1: it through the screen. Just a ton of bodyworks. Second round,
- 9:43Speaker 1: you know, Jaileen, a few lefts landed. Otherwise, you know,
- 9:49Speaker 1: it was all Sora, more body work and then these
- 9:53Speaker 1: wild left hooks to the head. I think like two
- 9:56Speaker 1: of them in that second realm. Then in the third round,
- 10:00Speaker 1: of course to the body, but then with both hands
- 10:03Speaker 1: left and right to the head, these looping shots. I
- 10:06Speaker 1: thought the fourth round, Waleen, that was a better round
- 10:12Speaker 1: for him. Whether you gave it to him or not,
- 10:14Speaker 1: I could see give him that round. It was a
- 10:16Speaker 1: better round, no doubt. I did think Jesora is wild
- 10:19Speaker 1: swinging to the head and body. I think that was
- 10:23Speaker 1: the round he got cut into. That cut looked pretty bad,
- 10:25Speaker 1: but you know, it turned out to be okay. They
- 10:27Speaker 1: stopped the fight once and luckily, you know, they let
- 10:30Speaker 1: him go. But I gave him the fifth. I thought
- 10:33Speaker 1: Walleen fought well as jab in the sixth and in
- 10:36Speaker 1: some left hands, so you know, could I could. I
- 10:40Speaker 1: think he could give him that round. Seventh round Chesaura
- 10:44Speaker 1: with a nice flurry to close the round kind of
- 10:48Speaker 1: negated anything you know, Walling did to my you know,
- 10:52Speaker 1: to my recollection. Eighth round, Waleen on the ropes for
- 10:58Speaker 1: long periods of time right taking heavy punches. Don't get
- 11:03Speaker 1: me wrong, he had some success in there somewhere, but
- 11:06Speaker 1: it wasn't a whole lot. And then the ninth round
- 11:13Speaker 1: like a right hand kind of like an overall like
- 11:18Speaker 1: a like a like a overhand whipping right hand shot
- 11:25Speaker 1: stumbles Waldeen like a cartoon. So it was a ten
- 11:32Speaker 1: eight round. I will say I gotta give credit to
- 11:35Speaker 1: Walleen considering how it just knocked him off balance and
- 11:39Speaker 1: he just went across the whole ring and then fell,
- 11:44Speaker 1: like I said, very cartoon like. He did close actually
- 11:49Speaker 1: fairly decently, so I'll give him credit there. I gave
- 11:52Speaker 1: him the tenth round Waleen, because until late in the
- 11:57Speaker 1: tenth he looked pretty tired. Sasora, you go figure, I mean,
- 12:01Speaker 1: the guy's throwing a bunch of punches, but I did
- 12:04Speaker 1: see that, but it didn't take long. Chesaora won the
- 12:08Speaker 1: last two rounds, more looping shots in the eleventh, and
- 12:11Speaker 1: then a late combination that ended with a right hand
- 12:13Speaker 1: knocked him down, so he had two ten eight rounds.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Chessaura has just got that less bob and weed but
- 12:23Speaker 1: kind of duck down style like Frasier. Uh. He can
- 12:27Speaker 1: jab a little bit off of that. Sometimes he's wide open,
- 12:32Speaker 1: but he does. It's kind of a kind of like
- 12:36Speaker 1: the George Foreman when he got older, where he he
- 12:39Speaker 1: just finds a way to kind of take something off
- 12:42Speaker 1: the shot at times, or just take the shot clean
- 12:46Speaker 1: and then just go to town on the body. And
- 12:48Speaker 1: then you know, eventually he was lanning big, big shots
- 12:52Speaker 1: up Todd. So whether he had it nine to three,
- 12:56Speaker 1: eight to four, something like that, one seventeen one nine one,
- 13:00Speaker 1: sixteen one ten and then just a ridiculous, ridiculous scorecard.
- 13:06Speaker 1: We always have to have these, don't we, one fourteen, one, twelve.
- 13:10Speaker 1: So basically it's a six to sixth fight on this
- 13:14Speaker 1: dude's scorecard sixty six, and it's just those two knockdowns,
- 13:21Speaker 1: like it's just I mean, it's it's like, dude, are
- 13:25Speaker 1: you kidding me? Like, how could you come up with that?
- 13:30Speaker 1: It's just it's just horrendous. Dude, I can't yeah, I
- 13:33Speaker 1: can't do it. So the last dance, you know, some
- 13:38Speaker 1: people thought this was the last fight, period, right, the
- 13:43Speaker 1: last dance otherwise, you know some people I kind of
- 13:50Speaker 1: thought this that you know, it's it's gonna be his
- 13:56Speaker 1: last dance, like until he loses again. You know, he
- 14:01Speaker 1: does want to get to that fifty mark, and he's
- 14:06Speaker 1: one fight away so right. You know a lot of
- 14:11Speaker 1: people were like, all right, man, he you know, he
- 14:14Speaker 1: he did it. Man, Now he can right off into
- 14:16Speaker 1: the sunset. And it's like, no, no, he's got these pictures.
- 14:20Speaker 1: He's got these guys in the ring, and he's got
- 14:21Speaker 1: these pictures of du Bois a J and Usk. Which
- 14:26Speaker 1: one should I do? He's asking the crowd. I think
- 14:30Speaker 1: the I want to say Usk got the biggest cheers,
- 14:36Speaker 1: but uh, you know, funny enough, he did. Actually this
- 14:41Speaker 1: was a while ago, very early on, you know, for
- 14:47Speaker 1: for Usik, and I mean early on, like at heavyweight.
- 14:56Speaker 1: He actually fought Usik pretty like close, like very competitively. Actually,
- 15:05Speaker 1: so now I'm not that's when he was kind of
- 15:08Speaker 1: adjusting the first two fights. You know for Usak at heavyweight,
- 15:12Speaker 1: he didn't looked that good. The weight didn't look good.
- 15:13Speaker 1: He didn't look good at all, and I started to
- 15:16Speaker 1: doubt him, and you know, I was obviously wrong. But
- 15:20Speaker 1: uh yeah, man, I mean's just Sorah, He's just he's
- 15:27Speaker 1: just one of those guys. You know, he's just one
- 15:29Speaker 1: of those guys. Lord of the flies on ah on
- 15:37Speaker 1: boxing Twitter. You know, he had a great he's basically
- 15:40Speaker 1: like the heavyweight version Orlando Solido like tough as nails,
- 15:47Speaker 1: just and I thought that was a great I'm gonna
- 15:51Speaker 1: I'm gonna read the full tweet later in the in
- 15:53Speaker 1: the boxing Twitter segment, but I thought it was a
- 15:56Speaker 1: great analogy because you know, I think that a casual
- 16:03Speaker 1: that had put money on somebody that Jora father or
- 16:08Speaker 1: whatever or or heading into it would be like, dude,
- 16:12Speaker 1: he's got thirteen losses, dude, you know, like he's been
- 16:15Speaker 1: knocked out a bunch and you know that type of stuff.
- 16:18Speaker 1: And I just I don't know, like the guys fought
- 16:25Speaker 1: so many freaking fighters, dude, Fury a bunch of times. Whosika,
- 16:30Speaker 1: But like, I don't know, he just he's just fought Parker, Dude.
- 16:39Speaker 1: He's fought so vitally. Dude, He's fought so many guys
- 16:43Speaker 1: and I just respect him. I really respect him, Like,
- 16:47Speaker 1: you know, I don't want to see him good hurt.
- 16:51Speaker 1: And that's the thing. The higher level he steps up,
- 16:54Speaker 1: that potential's there, obviously, but this is boxing, right, and
- 16:58Speaker 1: everybody is uh an adult, so you know, they have
- 17:03Speaker 1: their own choices and all that. But this was a
- 17:05Speaker 1: really good victory for him, very so you know, solid outing.
- 17:12Speaker 1: He just gives it his all, you know, right when
- 17:14Speaker 1: you think he's you know, hurt or stumbling or gassed
- 17:22Speaker 1: or whatever. And I'm not talking about just in this fight.
- 17:27Speaker 1: I'm just saying as a fighter, it's like the guy
- 17:32Speaker 1: just digs deep, you know. And I think guys like
- 17:36Speaker 1: this should be your boxers like this should be respected,
- 17:40Speaker 1: like well respected. And he's been around for so long.
- 17:46Speaker 1: I mean, he glost me and like it's just he's
- 17:48Speaker 1: been around for so long. Dude, So shouts out to
- 17:53Speaker 1: Derek Jasa. Who should he fight next? I mean, I
- 17:59Speaker 1: don't know. I mean I could see a j you know.
- 18:05Speaker 1: I guess I don't know. I mean, any of those
- 18:09Speaker 1: are big fights, obviously, I don't you know, maybe the
- 18:17Speaker 1: you know, if if Dubois lost the Parker, I don't know.
- 18:23Speaker 1: I just think that I think Dubois is like on
- 18:26Speaker 1: a course to uh to face Usik again. And that's
- 18:32Speaker 1: where aj comes in. And I don't think Usik but
- 18:36Speaker 1: he's just gonna stay busy, you know, no offense. She's
- 18:39Speaker 1: sure he's gonna need a little time, you know. So
- 18:43Speaker 1: I don't know. I just I don't know, you know
- 18:45Speaker 1: what I mean, I think I remember Turkey saying that
- 18:49Speaker 1: he's gonna be I think he's gonna be at that
- 18:53Speaker 1: card that you know, not this week but next weekend.
- 18:58Speaker 1: So and they said they're gonna talk, so we'll see,
- 19:03Speaker 1: we will see. But yeah, I think it's Usk and
- 19:05Speaker 1: du bois next. So I mean AJ is there. You know,
- 19:11Speaker 1: I'm not saying it's some kind of great fight, but
- 19:15Speaker 1: Aj is no longer in his prime either, So I
- 19:19Speaker 1: wouldn't call it a horrendous fight or anything like that.
- 19:24Speaker 1: And it would fit the bill of a payday, that's
- 19:28Speaker 1: for damn sure. Zach Parker was a bloody mess, but
- 19:34Speaker 1: but he handled business. Katilla, I think it did beat
- 19:43Speaker 1: heene Nathan Heeney. That was a competitive going into it.
- 19:47Speaker 1: That was competitive and he basically like there was a cut.
- 19:57Speaker 1: I think it happened. Was it in that? I don't
- 20:02Speaker 1: remember what round it was. I didn't I scored it,
- 20:06Speaker 1: but I didn't make a bunch of notes. I don't
- 20:07Speaker 1: remember what round it was. But heene down, you know,
- 20:13Speaker 1: seventh round. You know, I thought it was a really
- 20:21Speaker 1: close fight, to be honest with you, but you know,
- 20:28Speaker 1: I just think that, like Nathan Heeney started out, let
- 20:34Speaker 1: me look the first probably three or four rounds. Yeah,
- 20:38Speaker 1: well the fourth round that was close, but the for
- 20:42Speaker 1: sure the first three. But yeah, the fourth round I
- 20:45Speaker 1: have a question mark. But then after that, you know,
- 20:50Speaker 1: for me it was I don't know, I mean, at
- 20:57Speaker 1: least I would say the fourth and fifth, you know,
- 21:02Speaker 1: I don't know. It was close. I think that the
- 21:04Speaker 1: fourth was close, but you could go like you could
- 21:09Speaker 1: go like three to three on your scorecard, you know,
- 21:14Speaker 1: going into that that seventh round. But you know, I
- 21:21Speaker 1: did think it was close though I had I'm a scorecard.
- 21:23Speaker 1: I had it really close. But that was a nice
- 21:25Speaker 1: upset there, t Ko stoppage, so that that was that
- 21:33Speaker 1: was nice. Raffer Ye actually scored a knockout as well
- 21:37Speaker 1: over Mac macmillian. No macmillion basically, you know, the corner
- 21:44Speaker 1: stopped the fight. And then that Masud Abdullah and Zach Miller.
- 21:51Speaker 1: That was a competitive fight, very competitive, and I would
- 21:58Speaker 1: have been fine with the draw. I think it was
- 22:05Speaker 1: what was it? It was a majority decision. Let me
- 22:09Speaker 1: look at the cards again. I didn't break down the
- 22:11Speaker 1: scorecard for some reason. I had it about a draw.
- 22:15Speaker 1: I was okay with Zach Miller winning though. Yeah, so
- 22:21Speaker 1: one had it of course a draw because you have
- 22:23Speaker 1: majority decision one. So that was you know, that was
- 22:29Speaker 1: an upset, but there was a lot of like, it
- 22:35Speaker 1: was sloppy d it was it was rough, let's put
- 22:38Speaker 1: it that way. You know, head butts cuts from head butts.
- 22:46Speaker 1: You know, Miller was cut on his eye, so was
- 22:51Speaker 1: Abdullah and I think I think, yeah, Miller had one
- 22:57Speaker 1: like like a like well above his high too. It
- 23:04Speaker 1: was it was kind of I wouldn't mind seeing a
- 23:07Speaker 1: rematch on that one actually, But overall it was pretty good.
- 23:12Speaker 1: I mean, it was all right, it was a it
- 23:14Speaker 1: was a pretty good card. It's it's too bad that,
- 23:19Speaker 1: you know, Zach Parker going, you know, fight Hutchinson. I
- 23:23Speaker 1: think that would have helped. I think that would help
- 23:26Speaker 1: the card for sure, But you know, it is what
- 23:32Speaker 1: it is. What else did we got, Oh, we had
- 23:36Speaker 1: that pro box. I mean we had a variety of stuff,
- 23:38Speaker 1: but we did have that pro box card justin uh Paul.
- 23:44Speaker 1: Paul though, scored a knockout and rock him off. You know,
- 23:51Speaker 1: he he was he was hurt, man, he was hurt,
- 23:55Speaker 1: and I think he was to the hospital or he
- 23:58Speaker 1: did go to the hospital. And it was a bad
- 24:03Speaker 1: knockdown or knockout, I should say, and I get I
- 24:08Speaker 1: guess he's okay, you know, I remember seeing reports of it,
- 24:12Speaker 1: so you know, shots out to him, hopefully he's doing okay.
- 24:15Speaker 1: But Paul though that was a great performance. I mean,
- 24:18Speaker 1: I'm looking at my scorecard. I couldn't really give too
- 24:22Speaker 1: many rounds to rock him off. I really, I really couldn't.
- 24:26Speaker 1: I like this fight going in, and it was a
- 24:30Speaker 1: little more one sided than I thought, that's for sure.
- 24:34Speaker 1: The Maine eventa Costa and Carneniez that was a competitive
- 24:40Speaker 1: fight too. I mean, you had you know, Roman started
- 24:47Speaker 1: out hot. I gave him. Let me see, I gave
- 24:51Speaker 1: him for the first five rounds, you know, and let's see,
- 24:59Speaker 1: I gave him. I think I gave him the sixty up.
- 25:04Speaker 1: And then it started turning on him, you know, and
- 25:09Speaker 1: he did get knocked down. It was the seventh round,
- 25:14Speaker 1: and and after that the next few rounds. You know,
- 25:19Speaker 1: that was a coasta. So now I did think like
- 25:24Speaker 1: he I remember, I think it was Jake Donovan said
- 25:26Speaker 1: he had a gut that went out, and he definitely did.
- 25:29Speaker 1: He definitely did. Because that last round, I thought, that's
- 25:36Speaker 1: that's where you know that made a big difference ninety five,
- 25:40Speaker 1: ninety four, ninety seven, ninety ninety five, ninety four, So
- 25:43Speaker 1: I mean gutting out that last round. That was big.
- 25:48Speaker 1: That was really really big. So I liked that card
- 25:51Speaker 1: once again pro box doing their thing. Shots out the
- 25:57Speaker 1: pro Box, whether it's a really cheap app or YouTube
- 26:02Speaker 1: like the Bang for Your Buck, you really can't beat it,
- 26:06Speaker 1: right because it's so free or cheap, you know. Angeletti
- 26:12Speaker 1: won as well. That's about That's about it from that car.
- 26:18Speaker 1: But yeah, man, Cardinia's definitely grinded that one out. And
- 26:25Speaker 1: shouts out to to Baldo too, because I didn't see that.
- 26:28Speaker 1: I thought that was gonna be a competitive fight. I
- 26:31Speaker 1: really did. Going in, I wouldn't have thought it was
- 26:35Speaker 1: gonna be like that at all, you know, So shouts
- 26:40Speaker 1: out to him. Very good performance, and like I said,
- 26:44Speaker 1: I'm glad that his opponent, you know, was okay. So yeah,
- 26:49Speaker 1: I'm reading it from boxing scene right now. He had
- 26:53Speaker 1: been released from San Antonio, Texas, from a hospital there.
- 26:57Speaker 1: He was removed from the ring on a stretcher. Was
- 27:01Speaker 1: it the seventh or eighth round? It was the eight, okay,
- 27:04Speaker 1: so you know, hopefully he's doing well and he recovers
- 27:07Speaker 1: and everything's good, you know, because that that was pretty intense.
- 27:12Speaker 1: That that shocked me. Not that I didn't think anyone
- 27:15Speaker 1: could get knocked out in the fight, but it was
- 27:17Speaker 1: just it was a beating, like a one sided like
- 27:22Speaker 1: I said, I did not, I didn't. I don't think
- 27:26Speaker 1: maybe one round. I mean that it was pretty one sided.
- 27:30Speaker 1: So shouts out to Paul though. That was a very
- 27:33Speaker 1: good performance. And like I said, probox man. They're doing
- 27:35Speaker 1: their thing. It's like right somewhere in the ESPN Friday
- 27:40Speaker 1: Night Fights showbox vibe, and it's something that you know
- 27:46Speaker 1: in America when we had all those cards going on
- 27:50Speaker 1: for many many years, the mid level fight was thriving,
- 27:56Speaker 1: and somewhat recently it hasn't been as much as it
- 27:59Speaker 1: had know it had, And I'm talking about like sometimes
- 28:02Speaker 1: they are very quality like that. That main event was
- 28:05Speaker 1: a good fight. I mean the way you know you
- 28:09Speaker 1: can say, I mean he got it out right the
- 28:14Speaker 1: the tenth round. Uh, but like that was a like
- 28:20Speaker 1: a coaster brought it to the last like thirty seconds
- 28:24Speaker 1: or whatever. These dudes are getting it in. So that
- 28:27Speaker 1: was a good card. And like I said, they've been
- 28:30Speaker 1: doing their thing, so shouts out to them that they're
- 28:32Speaker 1: definitely needed. So yeah, that was that was a good card.
- 28:40Speaker 1: That's probably where I'm gonna kind of slow my role
- 28:44Speaker 1: when it comes to it. I think that'll that'll do
- 28:50Speaker 1: it for recap as far as this week and two
- 28:55Speaker 1: fights that I'm gonna break down with a little detailed
- 28:58Speaker 1: Brentschick and Davis when in Cadall and Barbosa. You know,
- 29:06Speaker 1: I just let's let's start with the Let's start with
- 29:10Speaker 1: the Friday night the Balantine's Day, right, that's gonna be
- 29:13Speaker 1: at the theater, the Madison Square Garden Theater. And you
- 29:20Speaker 1: have Sandrasias against uh Spoemer. You have Jared Anderson, you
- 29:26Speaker 1: have Polanco, you have Abdula Mason, you have Veto, you
- 29:31Speaker 1: have some guy named Nico only Wash never heard of him.
- 29:36Speaker 1: Oh no, it's kidding Kean Davis. So they you know,
- 29:39Speaker 1: there's some interesting stuff here. It's it's I don't know,
- 29:42Speaker 1: I shouldn't say interesting like in two way fight stuff,
- 29:46Speaker 1: but it's there's a lot of prospects on the car.
- 29:51Speaker 1: Let's put it that way. Guys that are trying to
- 29:55Speaker 1: get into that contender range or excuse me, like Jared
- 29:59Speaker 1: Anderson getting back to the contendent rage, I guess you
- 30:02Speaker 1: could say so, like, yeah, I mean I would probably
- 30:08Speaker 1: say that that Sias fight might be the closest including
- 30:15Speaker 1: the main event. Let me check really quick, or at
- 30:20Speaker 1: least one of the closest. Yeah, I mean technically Torres
- 30:28Speaker 1: Blanco's opponents like plus forty plus four ninety and Nicos
- 30:35Speaker 1: is plus four fifty, so it's right in there that Yeah,
- 30:40Speaker 1: Nicos is three to sixty. So that's the closest one.
- 30:43Speaker 1: That is the closest one. But as far as the uh,
- 30:50Speaker 1: the main event goes. Oops, you know, Davis how my
- 30:58Speaker 1: phone keeps drop But I don't know if you guys
- 31:01Speaker 1: can hear that. My apologies if you can. This is
- 31:06Speaker 1: a good fight for him. I like this fight obviously.
- 31:11Speaker 1: It puts him in the well. You know, you get
- 31:15Speaker 1: a belt that that always helps. And you know Branchick
- 31:22Speaker 1: isn't a big puncher, but he is coming off some
- 31:25Speaker 1: good wins, especially Noavarette. It was a close fight. It's
- 31:28Speaker 1: a close fight. He was able to kind of just
- 31:31Speaker 1: maneuver with this footwork and land some decent punches throughout
- 31:36Speaker 1: and just kind of stay busy, like busy enough. I
- 31:41Speaker 1: just thought the way he circled, I just kind of
- 31:45Speaker 1: kind of bugged Novarette. It seemed like he had a
- 31:47Speaker 1: good style for Navarette obviously, so that's a big win.
- 31:52Speaker 1: You know. Before that, he went twelve rounds with Gidget
- 31:56Speaker 1: and also Mendy, which is a little like I mean,
- 31:58Speaker 1: he's fought four twelve rounders, right, so he's got a
- 32:02Speaker 1: lot of experience. Obviously says some amateur pedigree as well.
- 32:08Speaker 1: Both fighters obviously do. But yeah, I mean he's got
- 32:15Speaker 1: a good jab. He faints a lot. His footwork is
- 32:22Speaker 1: pretty good, like I said, with the circling and all that, right,
- 32:26Speaker 1: And but sometimes especially when he's doing his jab, I
- 32:33Speaker 1: noticed like he can definitely get off balance, you know,
- 32:36Speaker 1: and he kinda he'll hit like the tip of his
- 32:40Speaker 1: toe sometimes after he jabs or when he steps or
- 32:44Speaker 1: before he's about to step. It's kind of a toe.
- 32:47Speaker 1: I noticed that going back and looking at a couple
- 32:49Speaker 1: of fights. But BRANCHI will need to start fast. That's
- 32:54Speaker 1: like a key start fast because generally speaking, Davis will
- 33:01Speaker 1: start a little slow. You know. He likes to measure
- 33:04Speaker 1: at a measure pace and all that. I do think
- 33:10Speaker 1: that Brinchet can definitely like get in some trouble, not
- 33:15Speaker 1: just with his footwork, but when he reaches kind of
- 33:17Speaker 1: put himself out of position. He can go both ways pause,
- 33:23Speaker 1: but there's like a risk will roar, there's a risk
- 33:27Speaker 1: reward in there where sometimes it looks real smooth and
- 33:30Speaker 1: it's all in one motion in a sense. Right, he
- 33:34Speaker 1: transitions very smoothly sometimes when he's coming forward, but he
- 33:38Speaker 1: also can leave himself wide open, and I think he's
- 33:42Speaker 1: there to be countered. And you know Keishaan, like I said,
- 33:50Speaker 1: he fights at a measure pace for a while. He's
- 33:55Speaker 1: got pretty good defense, pretty good footwork. He can count
- 34:00Speaker 1: no doubt about it. He's like a really heads the fighter.
- 34:03Speaker 1: But he does. Like That's why I'm saying Branchick better
- 34:06Speaker 1: start and win the first few rounds. That's like his
- 34:09Speaker 1: best way to get off to a lead, because you
- 34:12Speaker 1: gotta take advantage of him measuring you and just win
- 34:16Speaker 1: the rounds. Right. Sometimes you do see Davis kinda hold
- 34:25Speaker 1: back straight sometimes rather than pivot or move lattering. Something
- 34:31Speaker 1: to keep an eye on, because I do think I
- 34:35Speaker 1: think this fight comes down to two things. The high
- 34:40Speaker 1: guard will the high guard hold up for Branchick, which
- 34:45Speaker 1: I don't think it will as far as being able
- 34:48Speaker 1: to defend yourself. I'm not saying Davis is gonna take
- 34:50Speaker 1: him out easier or anything like that. And then both
- 34:52Speaker 1: of them use angles a lot of times. It's like
- 34:55Speaker 1: punching angles. They'll they'll get out of the way, you know,
- 35:00Speaker 1: punch and have an exit root or their punch and
- 35:03Speaker 1: pivot or just use an angle and then you're on
- 35:06Speaker 1: the other side of them, and then you can land
- 35:07Speaker 1: a good punch. And that's something you did with Novarette.
- 35:10Speaker 1: You both of them could do it. I just think,
- 35:13Speaker 1: I really think that Padraza was a pretty damn good
- 35:16Speaker 1: comp or Keishon Davis, whereas I don't. I don't think
- 35:25Speaker 1: there's like as similar comp if that makes sense. And
- 35:34Speaker 1: the things he was able to do to novel Raatee,
- 35:38Speaker 1: he's not gonna be able to do that to Keishan. Keishaan.
- 35:40Speaker 1: Does you know he's building momentum, he's starting to really
- 35:45Speaker 1: get into his groove and he's starting to show power.
- 35:49Speaker 1: He's starting to just you know, really you know, turn
- 35:54Speaker 1: into his punches, like really land some solid punches. So
- 35:58Speaker 1: I don't I don't know about like you know, the stoppage.
- 36:05Speaker 1: I don't know. I'm still kind of in between because
- 36:10Speaker 1: recently in the last few years he did fight Yigit
- 36:15Speaker 1: as well. You know, I don't know. It seems like
- 36:19Speaker 1: he's gone the distance of phara amount. You know, with
- 36:22Speaker 1: Gustavo he got him out real quick, but then just
- 36:26Speaker 1: a okay fighter Midueno I think it is that went
- 36:32Speaker 1: ten rounds? Was it twelve? No? I think it was ten, yeah,
- 36:34Speaker 1: because he's never been.
- 36:35Speaker 2: Twelve, and you know he had some other ones where
- 36:39Speaker 2: you're like, okay, that was I don't know. I just
- 36:42Speaker 2: I'm still I don't I think that Baranchick can take
- 36:47Speaker 2: care of himself enough, if that makes sense to you,
- 36:50Speaker 2: where he's got enough skill, enough, heads up enough, even
- 36:57Speaker 2: though the high guard may, you know, may get him
- 36:59Speaker 2: in trouble.
- 36:59Speaker 1: I just think he can hold. He could. You know,
- 37:02Speaker 1: he's got enough tools to last. So I'm gonna say
- 37:07Speaker 1: he's gonna make it, but I'm gonna go unanimous decision
- 37:12Speaker 1: in favor of Keishn Davis. That That's what I'm thinking
- 37:18Speaker 1: there now. In the other card, the other card, not
- 37:24Speaker 1: the underguard. On Saturday, Matchroom Caterall Barbosa, this one's in.
- 37:30Speaker 1: I think it's Manchester, right, This one is really interesting
- 37:34Speaker 1: and it's definitely as far as the bigger fights go
- 37:37Speaker 1: and the main events at all, it's tight. I mean,
- 37:39Speaker 1: I haven't looked the last couple of days. There's still
- 37:42Speaker 1: is a plus one ninety, but most of them are
- 37:45Speaker 1: over two hundred. As far as Barbosa being in, you know,
- 37:49Speaker 1: an underdog, so you know, Barbosa does have tools to
- 37:55Speaker 1: fight smart on the outside. Right. He is a good fighter.
- 38:01Speaker 1: You know, he definitely had a great performance in the
- 38:05Speaker 1: last fight against Ramirez. I really liked what I saw there.
- 38:09Speaker 1: Petraza a few fights ago as well, Dan Alito, he
- 38:13Speaker 1: had a good, pretty good performance in that one. So
- 38:18Speaker 1: he's kind of coming of age right now. So Barboza
- 38:22Speaker 1: is a good fighter. He doesn't have a lot of power,
- 38:24Speaker 1: but he is very skilled, right, so he's facing some
- 38:29Speaker 1: good fighters. Whereas Jack Caterall. You know, it's like he
- 38:35Speaker 1: had that big win against Davies a while back, right,
- 38:40Speaker 1: and then it was kind of whole home and he
- 38:43Speaker 1: had that Tailor fight, and you know that was a
- 38:48Speaker 1: split decision. A lot of people thought was it a
- 38:52Speaker 1: majority or split? I think it was split, you know,
- 38:54Speaker 1: I shouldn't say a lot. Plenty of people thought that
- 38:59Speaker 1: categor old Wanner. It was damn close, and you know,
- 39:02Speaker 1: I may have had Taylor winning just barely. Either way,
- 39:05Speaker 1: it was close. And my point is it deserved even
- 39:08Speaker 1: though the fight wasn't that great, it definitely deserved a rematch.
- 39:14Speaker 1: And it took a while, right, it took like a
- 39:17Speaker 1: while two years or whatever, a little over three years,
- 39:19Speaker 1: I think, but he got it last year and he
- 39:23Speaker 1: did his thing. He did his thing, and Caterall I
- 39:26Speaker 1: think is a little bit underrated. Like I think that
- 39:35Speaker 1: like the what he can do on the inside, Like
- 39:37Speaker 1: Taylor was really good on the inside, and I just
- 39:43Speaker 1: like I just I mean, don't get me wrong, Taylor
- 39:47Speaker 1: was faded. You could say Regius Progra was faded too,
- 39:51Speaker 1: but you'd also say for Barboza that Ramirez was faded too.
- 39:55Speaker 1: So we could do that all day. But he took
- 40:00Speaker 1: care of business though, And I think there's a difference there,
- 40:05Speaker 1: you know, now, don't get me wrong. I mean, he
- 40:09Speaker 1: did get dropped. It was somewhat early, what the fourth
- 40:12Speaker 1: or fifth round or something by pro Grade, but you know,
- 40:17Speaker 1: he came back and scored. You know, I think it
- 40:20Speaker 1: was two later in the fight, in the same round,
- 40:23Speaker 1: if I remember correctly. So I don't want to get
- 40:30Speaker 1: too hung up on Taylor and pro Gray being way
- 40:34Speaker 1: past their I don't know how way past their prime there,
- 40:37Speaker 1: but I wouldn't say they're They're definitely not in their right.
- 40:41Speaker 1: We know that, we do know that. But like I said,
- 40:44Speaker 1: like you know, Peedraza wasn't right, Ramiro's damn sure wasn't.
- 40:53Speaker 1: And honestly, that McComb fight, you know that was a
- 40:57Speaker 1: competitive fight too. I kind of forgot about that one
- 41:00Speaker 1: of those two fights ago. So Mike, I'm going Catterall,
- 41:06Speaker 1: you're gonna be, you know, across the pond, right. That
- 41:11Speaker 1: helps you in a close fight. But it's not just that.
- 41:15Speaker 1: I think that he's fought better fighters, and he's got
- 41:19Speaker 1: more pass to win the fight, more past the victory.
- 41:25Speaker 1: Can he jab with you. He's got a sturdy jab,
- 41:27Speaker 1: he's got the fundamentals and all that, but he can
- 41:30Speaker 1: bring it to you in a way where he doesn't,
- 41:35Speaker 1: you know, overdo it, like he doesn't expose himself that much.
- 41:39Speaker 1: He's a pretty good fighter, Catterall. And I think that
- 41:43Speaker 1: if Barbosa could show like a fair amount of pop
- 41:49Speaker 1: in this fight. That might that would be the difference.
- 41:54Speaker 1: That could be a difference right there, because then maybe
- 41:57Speaker 1: a pot shot, you know, like you have jad potshot
- 42:01Speaker 1: or counter or whatever, maybe he could stop Catall in
- 42:05Speaker 1: his tracks. I'm not saying Cateralll is just gonna go nuts,
- 42:08Speaker 1: adm or whatever, but I just, like I said, I
- 42:12Speaker 1: just think he has more past the victory. I think
- 42:15Speaker 1: he has a chance to win it. Where they're just
- 42:18Speaker 1: right in the middle of the round. I still think
- 42:20Speaker 1: I still like him in that it's closer, though, but
- 42:23Speaker 1: I think that Catall will just do more effective work
- 42:28Speaker 1: and solid. You know, it might be one of those
- 42:30Speaker 1: majority decisions. You know, it might be one of those
- 42:32Speaker 1: where the copy box numbers are really close and Barboza
- 42:37Speaker 1: may outland them a little bit, but the harder shots
- 42:42Speaker 1: will be Catall in my opinion, So I do have Catall.
- 42:45Speaker 1: I'll say, I'll say majority decision. That's all I'll go with.
- 42:49Speaker 1: I'll go majority decision, and you know we do. There's
- 42:57Speaker 1: another fight, uh Gomez Gomez, Uh that Reese but below
- 43:06Speaker 1: belowdi but is it Beloti? That's a Let me let
- 43:11Speaker 1: me look at the odds on that. I haven't checked
- 43:13Speaker 1: that in like a week that that's a good close fight. Yeah,
- 43:16Speaker 1: Gomez is just the highest one I see is plus
- 43:20Speaker 1: one fifty on. But the way I'm on and I'm
- 43:22Speaker 1: on pro boxing odds. By the way, I forgot to
- 43:25Speaker 1: mention that it's a great sight. It just you know,
- 43:28Speaker 1: organizes everything for you. That's like a pick and fight.
- 43:34Speaker 1: That's the closest fight of the weekend. Really on paper,
- 43:38Speaker 1: that is the closest fight. So I don't know who's
- 43:45Speaker 1: gonna win that, but I think that that might be
- 43:49Speaker 1: a good one. I think that might who knows, that
- 43:52Speaker 1: might steal the show as far as just being competitive,
- 43:58Speaker 1: you know, I don't know. I don't know who's gonna
- 44:03Speaker 1: win that fight. Really, Like if you look at I
- 44:11Speaker 1: don't know, Like I just don't know if I I
- 44:15Speaker 1: don't think Gomez has enough power man, and I just
- 44:21Speaker 1: I just don't He's a he like this could be
- 44:26Speaker 1: a coming out form here, right, And Michael Gomanz Junior
- 44:34Speaker 1: could win this fight, right, he definitely could, But I
- 44:40Speaker 1: don't know. It's like he like what's sews Reese had
- 44:45Speaker 1: a weird stretch there, I mean obviously got forward, So
- 44:49Speaker 1: I mean, what are you gonna do. Right, there's not
- 44:51Speaker 1: much there but Jordan Gill. I remember watching that fight.
- 44:56Speaker 1: I thought that was a pretty competitive fight. So I
- 45:00Speaker 1: had a split decision a lot yet two split decisions.
- 45:02Speaker 1: I just one against Ryan Walsh. I forgot about that one.
- 45:06Speaker 1: So he's just a little bit more tested, right, and
- 45:10Speaker 1: that's why it's so close. So will the unbeaten? Uh
- 45:14Speaker 1: oh no, he's not unbeaten. I'm saying it's kind of
- 45:18Speaker 1: unbeaten because it was a long time ago. I literally
- 45:21Speaker 1: think it was I should check. It was like twenty
- 45:23Speaker 1: eighteen or something like that. It is, it's twenty nineteen March.
- 45:31Speaker 1: You know, he lost the sixth rounder, you know what
- 45:34Speaker 1: I mean, So he hasn't lost a while. But then again,
- 45:38Speaker 1: like he beat like an undefeated thirteen to O Levi.
- 45:45Speaker 1: But you know, he you know, I don't know. I
- 45:51Speaker 1: don't know, man, It's just there's there's not much there,
- 45:59Speaker 1: you know what I mean? And that actually I forgot that. Okay,
- 46:03Speaker 1: that's hilarious. So he has a split decision against him too,
- 46:09Speaker 1: So yeah, I mean that that's a good that's a
- 46:11Speaker 1: good fight. I don't know. Something I don't know, man,
- 46:16Speaker 1: Maybe I kind of want to pick the prospect, but
- 46:21Speaker 1: it's Tuesday, so give me a break. I kind of
- 46:25Speaker 1: want to piss pick the Michael Gomez Junior, the slight underdog,
- 46:30Speaker 1: but I don't know. Man also self a Barrett and
- 46:38Speaker 1: James Dickens is on the card. McCormick. Krolla, but it's
- 46:43Speaker 1: William Krola, it's not Anthony Krola. So you know, let's
- 46:48Speaker 1: let's see how that card plays out. I think that
- 46:51Speaker 1: could be very interesting. But I do I do like
- 46:56Speaker 1: majority decision in favor of it, oops caterall. So I
- 47:04Speaker 1: think that about does it for the prediction stuff. News wise,
- 47:11Speaker 1: like I said, we we I'm not like, I'm not
- 47:15Speaker 1: a huge fan of Turkey, like given nonsense news to
- 47:22Speaker 1: his own website. And you know, Coppinger and him had
- 47:27Speaker 1: this long conversation that's like twenty minutes, thirty minutes something
- 47:31Speaker 1: like that, and uh, it wasn't much hard hitting stuff obviously, right,
- 47:41Speaker 1: I mean for obvious reasons, right, But we got a
- 47:46Speaker 1: little clarification in some stuff. But like he said it
- 47:50Speaker 1: multiple times, now you know why I gave you, Like
- 47:53Speaker 1: I admit I gave you false stuff to everybody, but
- 47:56Speaker 1: I but now you know why and it's like, I
- 48:02Speaker 1: don't think that's good enough. I think that's nonsense, to
- 48:06Speaker 1: be honest with you, I don't think that's I don't know,
- 48:11Speaker 1: like Oscar had already owned the ring, right, they bought
- 48:16Speaker 1: it a long time ago. And you know, some of
- 48:21Speaker 1: the pound for pound rankings, and every once in a
- 48:24Speaker 1: while maybe a lineal you know, you're like, I don't
- 48:27Speaker 1: know about that. I always talk about that. Whrrhead lenar
- 48:30Speaker 1: Is humped. He crawler one one in three, But it
- 48:34Speaker 1: wasn't like way over the top. Now obviously, like Doug
- 48:38Speaker 1: Fisher and all that, like him having a high ranking
- 48:43Speaker 1: position and how unprofessional he is not. You know, it's
- 48:50Speaker 1: one thing to do your job as a media member,
- 48:52Speaker 1: it's all, but you also have to be professional. And
- 48:54Speaker 1: he's skewed towards you know, he's very biased, let's put
- 49:02Speaker 1: it that way. And I'm not talking about the run
- 49:04Speaker 1: of the mill biased where everyone has biasedness and all that.
- 49:08Speaker 1: But he's been over the top and he's said some
- 49:11Speaker 1: really ignorant shit. And we're all ignorant to an extent, sure,
- 49:16Speaker 1: but you know him and Steve Kim, and Steve Kim's
- 49:21Speaker 1: not tied to the Ringer. Well, I don't actually, I
- 49:24Speaker 1: don't know. Now maybe he's going to be I don't know.
- 49:27Speaker 1: But so to me, it's it's been somewhat unprofessional at times,
- 49:34Speaker 1: very unprofessional. But now you have the new owner. You know,
- 49:42Speaker 1: now the new owner gave you false information. It's just weird.
- 49:49Speaker 1: It's weird. I have a problem with that anyway. So
- 49:56Speaker 1: the report, you know, we kept hearing old Canelos gonna
- 49:59Speaker 1: fight Crawford. Don't the fights off? Nope, And you know,
- 50:02Speaker 1: so that that was him given like some of this
- 50:06Speaker 1: stuff that it was on and it was off, and
- 50:08Speaker 1: then it was on, it was off and agreed upon
- 50:10Speaker 1: and all that. I've just learned not to get my
- 50:15Speaker 1: hopes up or hopes down and depending on the fight
- 50:19Speaker 1: until it's official. And the last few years, have you
- 50:25Speaker 1: ever since like COVID, because for a while there there
- 50:28Speaker 1: wasn't many fights, you know, in that time, and a
- 50:30Speaker 1: lot of people were just hitting up Twitter and YouTube
- 50:34Speaker 1: just talking shit. So you get all these feds pumped
- 50:38Speaker 1: up and then you don't deliver. And so that's been
- 50:44Speaker 1: an issue, right, And that's why I haven't even more
- 50:46Speaker 1: of an issue when the owner of a major at
- 50:52Speaker 1: least in boxing, a long standing publication like the Ring,
- 50:57Speaker 1: and so I don't think he gave a good enough
- 51:01Speaker 1: reason there, but we can all of a sudden we
- 51:06Speaker 1: were hearing a fight was off right, and it's like, well,
- 51:10Speaker 1: it wasn't on all the way, so you can't say
- 51:13Speaker 1: it got canceled or you know, because it wasn't announced.
- 51:18Speaker 1: But I really do wish you you know, I will
- 51:21Speaker 1: say this, when when agreed to terms happened, generally speaking,
- 51:25Speaker 1: those fights would get done. And now that's a little
- 51:30Speaker 1: wishy washy. It appears anyway, it's kind of getting worse
- 51:36Speaker 1: at times, and I'm not a big fan of that, right,
- 51:40Speaker 1: But you know, all of a sudden, we started hearing
- 51:45Speaker 1: news about and we even talked about it. I talked
- 51:49Speaker 1: about it with John last week about you know, Jake
- 51:53Speaker 1: Paul in Netflix, and you start to hear like Canelo
- 52:00Speaker 1: and Jake Paul. Okay, whatever I mean, if Crawford's next,
- 52:04Speaker 1: because at that time I still thought and it's going
- 52:07Speaker 1: to be now unless obviously Canello stumbles against Skull. But
- 52:14Speaker 1: I there's you could push back on both fights. Obviously.
- 52:19Speaker 1: William Skull is a professional boxer who has an extended
- 52:24Speaker 1: amateur career, and he's fought better competition than Jake Paul, right,
- 52:33Speaker 1: because yeah, technically he is a professional fighter, Jake Paul.
- 52:41Speaker 1: And I would never take it away from him, Like
- 52:43Speaker 1: I've always given him credit for certain things, and one
- 52:47Speaker 1: of them is just you know, training and actually dedicating
- 52:51Speaker 1: a large portion in your life to it. Right. I
- 52:54Speaker 1: do think that's pretty cool. Now. Do I have a
- 53:00Speaker 1: lot of other issues with him, Yeah, but that's out
- 53:02Speaker 1: of the ring whatever. But so I thought, okay, well
- 53:07Speaker 1: you cash out Jake Paul, right, And he always said
- 53:13Speaker 1: he was going to get the fight, and so I
- 53:15Speaker 1: was like, all right, cash him out and then go
- 53:17Speaker 1: fight Crawford. Right. And it's kind of interesting because a
- 53:24Speaker 1: lot of the media and like regular slash hardcore boxing
- 53:32Speaker 1: Twitter fans, right, I always talk about growing the sport,
- 53:37Speaker 1: and they're always talking about exposure, and they're always talking
- 53:41Speaker 1: about this and that, right, And they talk about the
- 53:44Speaker 1: same thing, John and I talk about the same thing.
- 53:46Speaker 1: But it's like they pick and choose when that's good
- 53:53Speaker 1: and when that's bad. And the amount of exposure that
- 54:02Speaker 1: that fight between Canelo and Jake Paul. And like I said,
- 54:05Speaker 1: I'm not saying I love the matchup. Okay, I gave
- 54:10Speaker 1: Jake Paul and Mike Tyson the freaking event of the
- 54:14Speaker 1: year because it drew the most attention. It was the
- 54:17Speaker 1: event of the year. It had a huge gait. I
- 54:20Speaker 1: didn't like it. I hated it. The main event the
- 54:23Speaker 1: other Cary was popping. But you know, I if you've
- 54:26Speaker 1: listened to the show ever, you anytime you've heard me
- 54:29Speaker 1: talk about that fight. I didn't like it just because
- 54:32Speaker 1: he's old as fuck, you know. But beyond that, it's like,
- 54:39Speaker 1: it still drew a lot of eyeballs, you know, and
- 54:44Speaker 1: it is what it is. And and I saw a
- 54:48Speaker 1: lot of medium members and plugged in fans or whatever,
- 54:52Speaker 1: hardcore Twitter fans, boxing fans that like were like, no, dude,
- 54:57Speaker 1: that'll make you know. It makes the sport a joke.
- 55:00Speaker 1: Oh and all that. Well, if he cashes out Jake
- 55:03Speaker 1: Paul in front of tens of millions of people, I
- 55:06Speaker 1: don't know how. I don't know how many people it
- 55:09Speaker 1: would have been, but if dam sure would have been
- 55:11Speaker 1: more on pay per view or than pay per view,
- 55:15Speaker 1: that's for sure. And it incentifies people just to because
- 55:20Speaker 1: a lot of people have Netflix and once again all
- 55:23Speaker 1: over the world and we always talk about, oh the
- 55:26Speaker 1: I hear a lot of the it's growing in among
- 55:30Speaker 1: the world boxing. Now, that's what we got to focus on,
- 55:33Speaker 1: growing it worldwide. Well, Netflix isn't just here, you know,
- 55:38Speaker 1: So I'm not selling that fight, like, oh my god,
- 55:42Speaker 1: I can't dude, that's a fifty to fifty you know,
- 55:45Speaker 1: I'm not saying that shit. But why not? I wouldn't
- 55:48Speaker 1: have been against it, is my point, because I got news.
- 55:55Speaker 1: The vast majority of boxing fans are casuals, semi casuals, casuals,
- 56:03Speaker 1: people that literally have one or two guys or whatever
- 56:07Speaker 1: Serrano or whatever tailor boxers that they like. And then
- 56:11Speaker 1: maybe there's layers underneath that, right, but not many, just
- 56:16Speaker 1: casual fans, people that have been watching the sport for
- 56:19Speaker 1: a long time, maybe people that start watching with Floyd Packett. Whatever.
- 56:25Speaker 1: My point is, they already think the sport is crooked,
- 56:30Speaker 1: as you know what. So this whole thing of that's
- 56:34Speaker 1: gonna make that gives boxing a black eye or that's
- 56:38Speaker 1: that root that hurts the sports credibility. I got news
- 56:41Speaker 1: for you. The sport doesn't have fucking credibility amongst the
- 56:46Speaker 1: casual fans. It doesn't time and time again, I don't
- 56:51Speaker 1: like that it's that way. But I'm just the realist,
- 56:55Speaker 1: and the realistic I've talked to over my life. I've
- 56:58Speaker 1: talked to so many casual fans, friends, people I'm meet
- 57:02Speaker 1: that night, whatever. Like I I you know, once somebody
- 57:07Speaker 1: finds out I do a boxing podcast, you know they're
- 57:10Speaker 1: gonna tell me something. And a lot of times it's
- 57:13Speaker 1: be like, man, that's just so crooked they are. My
- 57:15Speaker 1: point is, and for good reason. By the way, boxing
- 57:21Speaker 1: deserves that that stamp, But it already some people already
- 57:26Speaker 1: look at it like it is so corrupt that it
- 57:28Speaker 1: is almost a joke. And to be honest with you,
- 57:33Speaker 1: if if you're honest, I love the sport myself too.
- 57:37Speaker 1: I love it pretty much. I always will. I can't
- 57:40Speaker 1: say always forever. Who knows what it could be in
- 57:43Speaker 1: twenty years, right, But like I've loved it my whole life.
- 57:47Speaker 1: I always say college football and boxing those were my
- 57:52Speaker 1: two favorite sports since I was a little kid, and
- 57:55Speaker 1: that shit is politics heavy in both of them, you know.
- 57:58Speaker 1: So the point is they already fucking think it's a joke,
- 58:04Speaker 1: So why not cash if you want that Crawford fight.
- 58:07Speaker 1: By the way, I like Turkey making the having the
- 58:10Speaker 1: Crawford fight in Vegas here where it should be like,
- 58:16Speaker 1: you're gonna draw so much attention to that other fight,
- 58:22Speaker 1: and yeah, they're not gonna run ads for it on Netflix,
- 58:26Speaker 1: but you know, who knows, maybe Netflix gets involved. Remember
- 58:31Speaker 1: that's my problem I'm having. So and it all goes
- 58:35Speaker 1: back to like, if it's a PBC fighter, then the
- 58:38Speaker 1: PBC fighters should be able to go to this platform,
- 58:40Speaker 1: that platform, this plat it doesn't matter, it's good for
- 58:43Speaker 1: the sport, Okay, cool? So why in the hell Canello
- 58:47Speaker 1: number one guy when it comes to name going to
- 58:51Speaker 1: Netflix is gonna hurt the sport? You're out of your mind?
- 58:56Speaker 1: Go cash them out and then fight Crawford. In wonder
- 59:01Speaker 1: if he fought Crawford on Netflix, would that be bad
- 59:04Speaker 1: for the sport then? Or just because it's not Turkey right,
- 59:07Speaker 1: because a lot of people would say that about the PBC. Oh,
- 59:09Speaker 1: it has to be on a PPC platform. Why can't
- 59:12Speaker 1: it be over here? Why are you linear? Why isn't
- 59:15Speaker 1: that on ESPN? You know? Okay? Cool? Okay, fine, so
- 59:20Speaker 1: why wouldn't that be okay? You know? So? Now, so
- 59:25Speaker 1: the same people that were saying oh, al, you know
- 59:29Speaker 1: that's bullshit. I was doing bullshit. Well, this is a
- 59:32Speaker 1: bullshit fight too. Now, am I saying William Skull and
- 59:36Speaker 1: Jake Paul are the same fighter? No, William Skull amateur career,
- 59:42Speaker 1: got more pro fights, have foughten and beaten pro fighters, right,
- 59:49Speaker 1: so I don't have You know, he had a very
- 59:52Speaker 1: competitive fight with Shishkin. You know he's a more advanced
- 59:56Speaker 1: fighter than Jake Paul, no doubt about it. But coming
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: off er Langa, I understood Berlanga because it was gonna sell. Now,
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: I didn't buy the pay per view. I watched it,
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: but I didn't buy it, and I didn't steal it either. Okay,
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: I watched it with some friends late night Canelo fans. Now,
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: if I will say this about Skull, if you're going
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: to put him against William Skull, right, well that's if
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: you're gonna if you're gonna, well here's my point. If
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: you're gonna put him in Saudi, this name is probably
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: the Okay, fine, you know that's really not because that
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: wouldn't have drawn much on pay per view here, you
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: know that wouldn't have drawn much attention. Yeah, they do
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: a healthy gate because it's Cadello, but it really wouldn't
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: have you know, it's kind of a waste really, So
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: it's like, all right, cool, you know, that's fine, you
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: know whatever, and then fight Crawford here. Like I said,
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: the four fight deal, I am trouble when I hear
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: that three out of the four fights will be in Sadi.
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: I wish it was one and one and one and one.
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: I'll say that, but and won't see. But my whole
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: point is gettings. You know, Canelo is a big deal,
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: no matter who. We all know that. We all know
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: that's a big deal. Right. Obviously Golden Boy had him
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: for a long time. They screwed him, you know, obviously
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: if you're just being honest, you know, and he got
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: out of his contract, fouled lawsuit, he was you know,
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: they let him go sign a Matchroom. It was a
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: big get for Matchroom. Then it was a big get
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: for PBC and back and forth and all that. Right,
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: So I get it. But when I hear like Turkey's
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: gonna save boxing and him through boxing so much in
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: some ways he has the card coming up in two
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: weeks is phenomenal. Right, He's made many of great fights
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: or at least just good matchups. You know, they're just
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: like the heavyweight division what he was doing there, and
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: obviously you know better BF and the fall and you know,
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: like I said, that car coming up in the twenty seconds,
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: the ship, there's no way around it. But this to
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: me is run of the mill boxing here. It just is.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: And I didn't like the Berlanga fight and he was
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: under PBC at that time. Did I understand why they
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: did it? Yes? I did, and it made a lot
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: of you know, it did a big ass pay per
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: view number and a big gate, so I got why
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: he was the B side. But to go from Berlanga
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: to Skull, yeah, you know, it is what it is.
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: You know, that's not that great and people are now
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: selling it. And he even said, you know Turkey and
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: that Coppinger interview saying, oh it, you know, Canelo, it
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: has to be a big fight, it has to be
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: a big fight, and it's like, well, this isn't a
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: big fight, dude, this is a run of the mill.
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: He's not the best contender at once sixty eight. If
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: you want to call him a two time undisputed, go
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: ahead and call him that. But that's ridiculous because all
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: he did was drop the belt. That's all he did.
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: And before you give the IBF too much credit, because
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: we all know they were the last one to get
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: their door kicked in right by by the Federals, and
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: so yeah, they do enforce their mandos a lot more
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: than other people, like on average, But if they were
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: really legit, before you give them too much credit, Benevetez
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: would be ranked in the IBF if they were legit. Now,
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: I am understand that outside of your if you got
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: if you have the WBC something, then you're not going
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: to be ranked right. Once you get a belt, you're
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: not ranked in the other sanctioning belts unless you have
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: the belt. Right, maybe you have two or three of
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: them or four or whatever. But my point is, if
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: the IBF was so legit, don't bend over backwards and
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: stress your back out, you know, saying how good they
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: are because they enforce something. Okay, cool, I give them
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: credit for that. But if they were really legit, they'd
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: have Benefitas in there, they'd have Beneftez and they would
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: enforce that belt. I like Shishkin, good solid fighter. It
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: was a close It was a close fight, by the way,
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: very competitive fight. I have nothing. You know, maybe William
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: Skull freaking like eight to four would be like WHOA.
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: Against Canelo, It'd be like wow. And I think people
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: would be like, I think you beat him, you know,
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: because every time the underdog gets more rounds than you think,
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: people give him more rounds after that. So I have
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: nothing to say overly bad or anything about Skull. He's
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: not the number one contender. I think once you fought Berlanga,
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: who It's just that. My My problem is with Canelo.
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: He's a first ballot Hall of Famer. He's got a
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: great resume, there's no denying that. But the more you fight,
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: the more we're gonna expect it. Like we now know
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: he's fighting at least four more fights, right and now
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: Turkey did say he wants to befall fight, right, still
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: wants that beval fight. He mentioned Sharaz if he beats
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: Adamas or whatever too. But that's my point with Canelo. Dude,
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: if you're willing to fight before, why the fuck would
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: you fights? And at some point you start to go,
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: you know, and a lot of people want to talk about, oh,
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: Floyd did the same thing. He's just in the Floyd mode.
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: It's like, nah, dude, we knew Floyd had a six
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: fight contract right and after the pack y'all fight, he
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: did fight Burto and that is a bullshit fight, by
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: the way. The under card I remember being good, but yeah,
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: it was a bullshit made event. The thing is, he
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: never fought another professional boxer again in a real fight.
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: He fought McGregor, like what two years later, came out
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: for a bunch of millik you know, bunch of money.
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: But he never he didn't sign a new deal. He
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: didn't say I'm gonna be here for a couple more years.
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: He didn't say I'm gonna keep fighting. He didn't say
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: any of that shit. He's been exhibition ever since the
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: McGregor too, as we know. So it's different. You know,
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: if you're still fighting and you're willing to fight a
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: quality opponent at a higher weight in bifal, then why
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: don't you give his Benavitez to go from Berlanga to Skull.
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: It's just it's it's just not a good it's not
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: a good matchup. And like I said, I hope Skull
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: has a good outing. You know, it's nothing personal against
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: him or nothing like that. I've seen him fight a
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: couple of times. He's okay, you know, he's pretty good.
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: He's got a bunch of amateur fights, you know, from
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: what I understand, it's he doesn't he's got a lot
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: of fights, but not necessarily considering the amount of fights,
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: not necessarily a bunch of high level wins or whatever
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: in the amateurs. But I don't. I I lightly follow
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: the amateurs. I'll go I'll watch some live throughout the
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: year every once in a while, and the Olympics and
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: all that, but I'll go dig back into them, you know,
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: to find more out about a current pro. Then I
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: will watch them a couple times, maybe a couple times
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: a year. I'll watch a stream or whatever. You know,
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: if someone sends me something, I'll be like, oh wow,
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: that kid's good, you know, or whatever, watching highlights or whatever.
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: And I'll fully admit that. But yeah, I just it
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: is what it is. Now, what are the other two
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: fights gonna be? Is it gonna be eh? And then
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: like a Soso opponent and then bival or you know,
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: hopefully they can make that Benevy this fight. But I
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: don't know, I mean, I don't know. It's it's gonna
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: be interesting to see but this type of matchup, like
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: if they run with that two time undisputed stuff, when
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: all's Canelo did was drop a belt, Like every time
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: he fights it's for lineal. He already did undisputed. It's lineal.
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: I can't call it undisputed really because we know who
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: he was supposed to fight to. If you're gonna say
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: he's gonna re up his lineal or reup his undisputed, right,
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: and I get it right, he'll get that belt and
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: then he'll be undisputed with all the belts, and then
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: it sets up Crawford for undisputed again against undisputed, But
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: not really because Crawford's not undisputed at fifty four, I
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: guess like Charlo was. But he's been undisputed, right, so
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: he'll be he'll try to go for his third undisputed,
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: you know. So I get it, but I don't think
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: I think that's a selling point. But you know, you
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: could say that anyway, Like I'm not gonna say he's
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: a two time undisputed, you know, because he'd have to
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: lose in the ring, lose all of his belts, loses
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: someone and then beat the person or so maybe beat
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: someone else for him or whatever. You're down the line.
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: I don't know, but you know, it is what it is.
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: It's disappointing because you're coming off Berlanga. So you told
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: us a couple of years ago to all these fighters
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: at one sixty eight fight each other, and one man
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: fought a bunch of good fighters in a row. Now,
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: and if you're willing to go up to fight bivil
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: like it did in Kovilev, and my guess is, well,
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: who knows, maybe it would be a catchway if they
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: fought again. I don't know, but it's just it does it.
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: It's it's just it's it's wild. Let's just put it
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: that way. It's wild. So we'll see, you know, hopefully
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: hopefully Skull does give him a good outing. You know,
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: like I said, if he won three or four rounds, man,
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: that'd be like hey man, you know, that'd be a
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: big one. But yeah, I mean, you know, the yield
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: drums and the riders, and you know, I get some
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: of the stuff, Like I understood the Charlotte thing. I
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: understood the Berlanga thing because I knew it would sell
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: and it sold really well. But I don't know, it's
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: just I get, you know, at least this. Presumably he'll
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: keep his twenty five dollars pay per views or twenty
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: nine or whatever. So I guess that's a good thing.
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: I got a buddy, couple buddies who are big on
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: Canelos Sea. I'm just gonna go over their house and
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: watch it. I won't be partaking in the purchase of
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: this pay per view, you know. I pick and choose
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: like everybody else. So, according to Front Office Sports, ESPN
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: parting ways with Top Rank Boxing after eight years. That's
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: the headline. Netflix and Warner Brother Discovery were not interested
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: in Top Rank in preliminary talks. Sources set okay, Now,
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: ESPN and Top Rank didn't say anything right, but the
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: report here from Front Office Sports is the ESPN has
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: informed the boxing company it will be moving on after
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: the eight year partnership concludes in August. So, you know,
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: does that mean they are going to go to the Zone?
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: Does that mean it's kind of some at the Zone?
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: They mentioned Pro Box potentially in here. As far as
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: getting some other fighters on there, I wouldn't doubt it,
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: much like the PBC has had to do recently. And
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: then maybe something else. So maybe it's the Zone and
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: pro box. Maybe it's just a zone. I don't know.
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: I'm not sure, but that would be a just being honest. Now, okay,
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: but going from ESPN and throughout the year having a
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: sport on that's more popular than boxing leads you into
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: your boxing event does make a difference ratings right and
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: for quite some time, and I always thought this was
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: a big plus that, you know, you didn't even need
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: ESPN to watch their fights. The last few years it's
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: been like that where if you just got ESPN Plus
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: you could see their fights. Originally it wasn't like that,
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: but it turned into that, and that was that's a
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: great deal. You didn't need to have cable, was the point. So,
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: but spokespeople for Netflix in Warner Brothers Discovery, you know,
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: they they didn't comment, but yeah, so we'll see exactly
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: where they go. I guess you could say this, I
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: don't know, this is kind of like, well not kind
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: of like it is more of an outside source than
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: the boxing stuff that we're used to. So and I
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: do believe that, like I mentioned, I think earlier that
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: I do believe they would probably have said something that
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: they said, don't we're instilled negotiations, you know, I think
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: they probably would have came out and said something if
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: this wasn't true. Now that's my opinion. Maybe I'm proved wrong.
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: I damn sure didn't want them to leave ESPN. I
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: definitely didn't. You know, what would be ideal would be
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: if they somehow got on Amazon, you know, and had
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: those two getting it in. That would be great, just
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: to kind of show you, you know, where I'm at.
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: You know, that'd be great. That'd be great, you know.
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: But I don't think that's gonna happen. I don't know.
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: I don't know. Top Rank and Bob Aaron and you know,
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: they've they've said that they're more likely it's gonna be
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: more than one. So maybe it will be a few,
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: you know, I don't know. Maybe just maybe the Dana
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: White thing, even though they hate each other, I don't know,
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: you know, maybe maybe maybe they sell it to them,
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: you know, I don't, I don't. I really don't know,
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: to be honest with you. But you know, let's see,
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: you know, let's see that they have good matchmaking. I
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: do think that like what they did at heavyweight, when
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: it seemed like they signed some guys and then they
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: didn't necessarily fight him fight each other. It took him
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: a while to get to good fights. If that division
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: did get to good fights. There's divisions like the featherweight
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: and especially like one thirty had it, you know, some
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: really good fights. And you know for quite a long
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: time that WBO featherweight belt has been in house for
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: it for a long time, right, it was way in
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: house for a long time. I mean, you know, it
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: is what it is. Like I said, I'm not happy
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: hearing this, you know, and when we brought it up,
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: I would get messages, but John and I would talk
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: about it that oh, just because PBC went on a bit,
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: you know, showtime and all that. They you know, they're
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: gonna go out of business, not top rank, and we
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: I'm not I want them to stay on ESPN. You know,
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: I want more cards on Amazon. I want it on
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: the biggest platform. That's why I wasn't against Canelo going
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: to Netflix just as a one off too, to take
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: care of to cash out Jake Paul, It's just okay, bye,
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: you know, why not. That's that's not the worst thing
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: to ever happen that. That was my point. It's just
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: like this isn't gonna like this is a really bad
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: look for boxing. It really wasn't, dude, And like I said,
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: it's it's boxing. Boxing has to a casual fan, mostly
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: bad looks. That's what they think of the sport. You know.
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: They don't pay attention to it like us, so they wouldn't.
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: They don't even know what the hell is going on, right.
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: It does look like Caleb Plant is going to be
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: back in the summer, so it'll be good to see
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: him back in the ring. He's talked about Berlange, He's
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: talked about Baul Charlowe, he's talked about Gee I believe,
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: so yeah, you know, I don't know. Sabril Matias and
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: Gabriel Venezuela will beat up on his own March first.
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: That's a pretty good fight there. Yeah, I got off.
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: I'm looking through my messages like, oh tomorrow or not
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: tomorrow night? Was that Thursday night? No? No, no, no,
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: no that that was a couple of days ago. What
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: am I saying? Someone? Uh, jowel off the big goose Beck.
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: Someone sent me a screenshot of brunch Boxing. Shout out
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: to brunch Boxing that you know he he I think
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: he was sick or something like that. I don't I
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: don't remember. Let's see what else. Oh, yeah, that Carlos Otamus,
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: he said he tweeted a few handful of days ago.
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: Now he said, my manager told me that they said
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: I couldn't. I could not enter Saudi Arabia before the
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: date they decide. My team bought our tickets on their own.
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: They let them. They let my team pass, but I
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: couldn't pass. I'm stranded waiting in the Las Vegas airport.
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: Now it did get fixed, so that's a positive. But
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: it was kind of funky, like what you know, did
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: it have Was it a visa thing or was it
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: you know what I mean that that's that was a
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: little funky, little funky when I when I heard that,
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: because you know, you want to get there early enough
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: to acclimate and all that good stuff. So so that's good.
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: He's you know, he's good to go, so we should
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: be good to go. Here's another one. Good old Glaze
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: was like Canelo Jake Paul looking better and better to
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: happen in May. And get this, it's not an Amazon
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: Brian page for you. It's on Netflix. And he made
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: it seem like, you know, they weren't gonna be involved,
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: because that's what he does, but even Jake Paul said
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: Al Hayman was gonna be involved in that one. But whatever.
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: Brunch Boxing the the Twitter page so Bubbles reported as
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: finalizer being finalized that we're never close. Manny Paciel, Connor
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: Ben Stevenson, Zepata back versus Martinez, ns Ortiz is sac
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: against Garcia in the list, goes on, I mean Lopez
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: and Hitchins, now, I think that's gonna happen, but because
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: of the you know, the layout, but like they're both
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: the same manager or whatever. But like, yeah, they make
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: a great point. You know, they definitely make a great point.
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: Ron Katz says boxing writers have to do better, not
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: all of that, not all of them. Mind you spreading
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: misinformation to the fans. Here's a real disservice. It's like, yeah,
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: you're right, except uh, you know, it wasn't their fault
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: in this one. Here's a little uh boxing Twitter Terrence
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: is a big money fight for Canelo. Two time undisputed
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: Crawford has the two tools that cause the upset. This
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: is also why Canelo doesn't want to fight this when
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: it was off, he said he wouldn't get credit. And
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: that's another thing he said. He wasn't gonna get credit
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: for Crawford fight. Then he fights, you know, so it's
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: like you told everybody to go fight. If Benevis did,
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: you're not fighting them. So it's just kind of weak.
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: I'll just admit it, like you can't. You can't not
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: admit it, dude. It is what it is. Like I said,
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: that's not gonna keep them on the whole of fame,
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: but uh, you know, it is what it is. But
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: I do think that Canelo Crawford fight will be good
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: if three of the four fights for Canelo are in Sadi.
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: This is a screenshot. I can't tell who texted or
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: tweeted it. If three of the four fights for Canelo
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: are in Sadi as being reported, and the shift of
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: boxing to the east is here facing the sport headed
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: across the ocean with the likes of aj Usik in anyway,
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: I wouldn't say Usik's a face of boxing. But yeah,
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: we knew this was eventually coming for American boxing, no stars,
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: lack of big fights. You know, It's funny because like
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: Canelo has been doing big business here, so I mean
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: he's going east because like the thing about the Sadi,
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: it's not organic you know, it's not organic. So it's
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: it's not like you go there like you go to Vegas,
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: because there's like anywhere from like ten to twelve to
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: like fifteen to seventeen. There's only like a certain you know,
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: fourteen thousand tickets that you're gonna sell, so you can
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: jack up the prices, right, and hotels are right there.
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: And I'm not saying that's not in Sadi, but people
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: are going there. Fighters are going there because it's the
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: biggest money, not because it generates the biggest gates. And
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: I'll say this. You know, at least they are putting
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: Canela on in our time over here in the prime time,
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: so that does make more sense. I will give them
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: credit there, But it's not an organic shift to the East.
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: It's just not. So you know, it's not because there's
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: no big fights here, you know, it's not just that.
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: I mean, two years ago we had a monster year.
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: Last year it was hit or missed, no doubt about it.
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: But it's just funny how like Saudi Arabia Turkey fights
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: count more and they don't. We get that they don't
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: have to make money, right, but then why do you
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: even why wouldn't you get on the biggest platform possible.
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: Then someone said the other day, you know, it would
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: have been cool to have a super if you got
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: all this money, then buy eight million for a Super
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: Bowl spot and talk about them at Crawford in September
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: right there, you know. So it's not like, oh, there's
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: no big fights here. There's no names here. And that's
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: the funny part. Like Benefittez just did a healthy gate.
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: If anybody outside the PBC did that gate, they looked,
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: they looked at way differently. And obviously we know Davonte
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: and so it's just to say no big fights there
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: has a big big fights over here much. It's like
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: it's just bullshit, And yeah, it's moving east for us,
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: you know, specific reason. And whether that actually grows, that's
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: not growing the sport though, That doesn't grow like when
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: you say, oh, it's gonna grow worldwide where though, so
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: you're gonna take any way out of Japan, like the
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: Zone does good for a while actually even before it
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: started popping off of boxing in Japan. I'll say that,
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: but like, I don't I understand if you're gonna paying
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: big bucks to take some of the fights there. Totally
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: get that, but It's like, like I said, this kind
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: of feels like this Canelo deal on the surface kind
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: of feels like the run of the mill boxing deal. Hey,
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: you're gonna fight this this okay fighter and then we're
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: gonna get you there, and hey, that's boxing. But don't
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: turn around and tell me that he's way different, you know,
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: like he's way way different based off of this type
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: of stuff. But yeah, if he doesn't need to make
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: money and it's just the government cool, then try to
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: get it on Amazon or Netflix or like have his
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: pay per views available multiple places. Then you know, Ezra
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: from Bronchboy Bunch Boxing, it's not a shift to the East.
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: It's a disappearance of the sport from the general audience.
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: You would have to you would have to market for
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: the sport to call it a shift. You would have
- 1:26:50Speaker 1: to have a market for the shift a vicious blow
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: of the US market, which is a vicious blow to
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: sport and it And like I said, I'm not saying
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: all those fights, some of them may sense being over
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: there because they wouldn't be made here or in the UK.
- 1:27:03Speaker 1: I mean the UK. The last couple of years, just
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: in general, it has hurt them and so you know,
- 1:27:14Speaker 1: it's a it's a weird thing, you know what I mean,
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: like at for hardcore fight fans. Hell yeah, but once again,
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: don't tell me about growing the sport. Though. If Fred
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: said breaking news, Netflix couldn't come up with the escrow.
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: That's a funny one. So yeah, he mentioned the Vaal hiras,
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: we'll see, We'll see. You know, Crawford. I get why
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: they're making the fight. Like I said, I give I
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: give them credit for doing it here, you know, I do,
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: I do. I think that's big. Someone said, I'll be screaming. Yes,
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: oh I've been screaming, and yes for the skull fight.
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: May the fight with Crawford is only historic if Bug
- 1:28:04Speaker 1: Cropper has an opportunity to become three times three division
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: undisputed in the modern day. The thing is like, it's
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: just funny because you know the old statement that I've
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: said many a time since this undisputed started popping off lately,
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: not everyone is the same, you know, not all of
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: them are created equal. And this is just the I
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: dropped a belt, I'm gonna get it back. That's not
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: really undisputed. So just getting a lineal just going up
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: to one sixty eight getting a lineal. You know, honestly,
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: I'd still call him undisputed. But you know, it is
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: what it is. Like like I said, if the IBF
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: was legit, they would have had Benevidas in their rankings
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: and they would have called for Benavides. Oh yeah, are
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: you know out of UFC and tk O and all that.
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: Emanual He said, the all the act hurt boxing, and
- 1:29:09Speaker 1: who knows what's gonna happen with the all the act right,
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: and he said Dana White. He said this on McAfee show.
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: He said, Dana White has a plan for boxing. So
- 1:29:21Speaker 1: and and then it goes on to say they've been
- 1:29:23Speaker 1: kicking the tires. They've been kicking the tires for a while.
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: But yeah, I wouldn't doubt if they get into it.
- 1:29:28Speaker 1: But it just until they get into it. They get
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: into it. By the way, I saw this brunch boxing
- 1:29:34Speaker 1: once again, shots out to everyone over there, shots out
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: to Matt Nazure and everybody. Domestic violent charges against Jamal
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: Hearing dismissed insufficient evidence. So you know, it is what
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: it is, all right, Vick So and I don't know
- 1:29:59Speaker 1: when they say it, you know where it didn't say
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: charges drop or that, well, their drop but instant. So
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: was there enough evidence to make the arrest then? And
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: we we do know it can it can be different
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: state to stay, I guess, but you know sometimes it
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: is someone just saying you did it and you got
- 1:30:25Speaker 1: to go to jail for a little bit, you know.
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: But he was in there for my understanding. So but
- 1:30:31Speaker 1: that's the report that insufficient evidence, So I think that's
- 1:30:38Speaker 1: good to get some sort of closure with that. Vic says,
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: what happens when there's no more established stars for Turkey
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: to bring to Sadi than what I guess. Enjoy the
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: fights for now and worry about it later. Huh. You know,
- 1:30:54Speaker 1: we'll see, we'll see, we will see, Like I hope
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: the best. John Nash said over that ri thing with
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: the boxing, he said that in all the act, he
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: said the problem with boxing boxing at seventy thirty in
- 1:31:09Speaker 1: the favor of the boxers instead of thirty seventy for him. Like,
- 1:31:16Speaker 1: I want this Turkey thing to work out, and so
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: far it's done pretty good. But like I said, the
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: exposure is just not there considering the investment. The exposure
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: is nowhere where it should be. You know, we always
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: heard so much about the investors for the PBC and
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: how it's failing and all that. They ended up getting
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: a network deal, you know. Then they lost it, no
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: doubt about it, with Fox. But during that time they
- 1:31:47Speaker 1: were getting major ratings, you know, so all that investment
- 1:31:51Speaker 1: money got them a deal, but it also put it
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: sparked ratings, like they were getting big ratings exposure. So
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: and if you could say, well, the fights Turkey's making
- 1:32:05Speaker 1: on average are better, Okay, cool, so let's put him
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: in front of more people, then it's really not that
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: hard to figure out. And it's not being a hater,
- 1:32:16Speaker 1: just breaking down what's fairly obvious. I think, let's see here.
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: But yeah, hopefully in twenty twenty six that Benefitez as
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: part of the Canelo fight, if you're making that kind
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: of money, I really hope so, man. And you know,
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: although it would be a shame to have it over there,
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: I would really hope that they. I don't see why
- 1:32:49Speaker 1: they would put it in prime time over here, you know,
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: so if it's not here, at least it'd be the
- 1:32:57Speaker 1: normal time and then you know, hopefully we see a
- 1:33:03Speaker 1: lot more advertising for that Crawford fight. And like I said,
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: here's a perfect example, the the promos that they cut
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: our movie, Like, we all know that the production's a level.
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: I mean, it tells the damn story in this you
- 1:33:28Speaker 1: know it's great. Well, that would be cool if that
- 1:33:32Speaker 1: was across a lot of different platforms, not just social media.
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: You know, if you could run that even an extended
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: version of ten minutes or something on Amazon on you know, well,
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: I don't know, ESPN and Plus or you know, run
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: it all over the place. You know it's gonna be
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: in September. Run it during the biggest college football game
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: in September. There's gonna be a dude, September is packed
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: with college foot ball schedule, even though the first week
- 1:34:04Speaker 1: is packed. So put it where people can go, oh shit,
- 1:34:09Speaker 1: undefeated Crawford, you know, like that the Fidal cell, if
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: you allow people to know about it. Brunch Boxing also
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: pointed out with that Turkey Ala Sheik interview that in
- 1:34:23Speaker 1: you way and ball but would not likely happen in
- 1:34:27Speaker 1: twenty twenty five because he doesn't want to go up
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: to featherweight yet. So let's hope. Let's hope that means uh,
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: you know, na Kazani, because he also did mention that,
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: by the way, he did mention that. So yeah, let's hope, man,
- 1:34:44Speaker 1: that would be great, that would be phenomenal. Oh, here's
- 1:34:47Speaker 1: a here's what I'm talking about. So now net uh Now,
- 1:34:53Speaker 1: Netflix knows that the business of boxing is very different
- 1:34:56Speaker 1: from any sport in the world, and anything can happened
- 1:35:00Speaker 1: matter of minutes, right, Barbosa box This this is him
- 1:35:04Speaker 1: by default, his excellent excellency helped other platforms by preventing
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: a huge commercial win on netlik Netflix with Canelo and
- 1:35:15Speaker 1: Jake Paul. Do you see what I mean? He, by
- 1:35:19Speaker 1: default Turkey helped other platforms by preventing a huge commercial
- 1:35:27Speaker 1: win for Netflix. Well how about boxing? Like see now
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: it matters what where it goes now, it matters what
- 1:35:39Speaker 1: network is on. Well if I'm not if if Turkey
- 1:35:42Speaker 1: doesn't meaning to do with Netflix, I don't want to.
- 1:35:46Speaker 1: I don't want to give them a win. But like
- 1:35:49Speaker 1: I said, flip into the PBC and it's a completely
- 1:35:52Speaker 1: different thing. Speaking of pro box, like I talked about
- 1:35:56Speaker 1: earlier on March twenty second, Leicester Martinez and Joe Shawn James,
- 1:36:04Speaker 1: sign me up for that. I like that in the
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: main event, looks like the under card's good too, So Yeah,
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: that's good news. That's good news. That's a good fight.
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: They're really doing their thing, man, they are doing their thing. Okay,
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: So it looks like I did forget to mention this.
- 1:36:19Speaker 1: Queensberry just sown it's happened in April. They're going heavyweight Central.
- 1:36:25Speaker 1: They're going heavyweight Central, Dyllion White, Joe Joyce, A Kohli
- 1:36:31Speaker 1: in that racka force or whatever. H Rakapor poor hit.
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: I can't remember that. Tony Martin and Adeline and Schwartz,
- 1:36:42Speaker 1: Tommy Schwartz. So you know, I mean for heavyweight fights,
- 1:36:49Speaker 1: hopefully we get some uh pretty good action there. I
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: do think Martin's good for Moses. So yeah, you know,
- 1:36:57Speaker 1: it's a it's a it's a heavyweight art nothing nothing
- 1:37:02Speaker 1: wrong with that. That works, That works for me. Oh yeah.
- 1:37:09Speaker 1: R I p to John Cooney, Irish featherweight. He passed
- 1:37:15Speaker 1: away from about February first, so r I P to him,
- 1:37:21Speaker 1: Man Roll Boxing, Yeah, j Row was like, this is
- 1:37:28Speaker 1: not for undisputed. People are trying to sell this to
- 1:37:30Speaker 1: put him in the same sentence as bud Inuay and
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: USI and Roll Boxing quote to you did saying correct,
- 1:37:37Speaker 1: nobody calls Muhammad al Ali three times undisputed for beating
- 1:37:43Speaker 1: Ernie Terrell, or makes a big deal above his four
- 1:37:47Speaker 1: WBA titles because of stupid acknowledge and stupid things. It's
- 1:37:51Speaker 1: just it's just one of those things where you're like, Eh,
- 1:37:55Speaker 1: it's it's you gave a belt away and you just
- 1:38:00Speaker 1: get it back. By the way, williams Skull is plus
- 1:38:05Speaker 1: thirteen sixty, So that's exactly what Picasso is. And I'm
- 1:38:15Speaker 1: not talking about the painter. Okay, the opening line that
- 1:38:18Speaker 1: I saw Crawford only a plus one eighty four as
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: a dog. Could you imagine if Crawford won that fight?
- 1:38:27Speaker 1: Oh my goodness, gracious, Oh my goodness, gracious man. Speaking
- 1:38:33Speaker 1: of Crawford, he did a he did step on the scale.
- 1:38:39Speaker 1: Now who knows, but it says one eighty six on there. Now,
- 1:38:46Speaker 1: who knows what he's got on and all that stuff.
- 1:38:50Speaker 1: But yeah, that's kind of you know, he's putting on
- 1:38:55Speaker 1: some weight getting ready. Here's that same Barbosa box dude,
- 1:38:59Speaker 1: and I'm right here with him on this one. He says,
- 1:39:02Speaker 1: re hot season boxing or ring magazine commercial spot at
- 1:39:05Speaker 1: the Super Bowl would have done wonders for our sport. Yeah,
- 1:39:11Speaker 1: and shouts out to android uppercut. He was saying, the
- 1:39:13Speaker 1: last time we had a Super Bowl commercial it was
- 1:39:16Speaker 1: for boxing. It was Wilder Fury too, So yeah, makes
- 1:39:21Speaker 1: a good point there. Yeah, they promoted the hell out
- 1:39:26Speaker 1: of that. Oh yes, So we already kind of knew
- 1:39:32Speaker 1: about Flandora and Booker. You know, Fandora has been off
- 1:39:36Speaker 1: for a while. He got jerked around a little bit
- 1:39:38Speaker 1: thinking he was going to get Spence, this, that, and
- 1:39:40Speaker 1: the third. So they're bringing him back hopefully it's a
- 1:39:43Speaker 1: big fight next that's nothing. You know. Booker's a good
- 1:39:46Speaker 1: fighter though, and Fandora has enough flaws to where it
- 1:39:49Speaker 1: could be competitive. But what I like about this the
- 1:39:53Speaker 1: Elijah Garcia Toreu Shay. I do like that fight for
- 1:39:58Speaker 1: Elijah Garcia. I do like that fight for Garcia. I
- 1:40:05Speaker 1: think it's solid. I think it's solid. I think he
- 1:40:09Speaker 1: needs to get on the good foot. And this is uh,
- 1:40:13Speaker 1: this is March twenty second according to Jake Donovan PBC
- 1:40:18Speaker 1: on Prime. So straight up, no paper or nothing. And
- 1:40:21Speaker 1: then another thing. You know what Selgado will bring We'll see,
- 1:40:27Speaker 1: but Haesus Ramos juniors taking him on and so they're
- 1:40:31Speaker 1: bringing him back quick. So that part I really do
- 1:40:36Speaker 1: like that. I do like that that that's happening. Oh yeah,
- 1:40:40Speaker 1: Berlanga Will Berlanga is back fighting on an undercard of
- 1:40:46Speaker 1: Amma Williams. He's fighting Jonathan Gonzalez, who was off for
- 1:40:52Speaker 1: eleven years, and Hans broke this down on Twitter. Let
- 1:40:57Speaker 1: me point out how horrific this fight is. Jonathan zlas
- 1:41:00Speaker 1: Ortiz stop fighting for eleven years from twenty thirteen to
- 1:41:05Speaker 1: twenty twenty four. He thought twice since coming back, so
- 1:41:09Speaker 1: at least he's got a third camp. But eleven years
- 1:41:13Speaker 1: out is a long time, you know, bullshtick. I thought
- 1:41:18Speaker 1: that him being out for three years, him getting some
- 1:41:21Speaker 1: fights and being on your third camp, it worked out
- 1:41:24Speaker 1: pretty good for him, But eleven years, that's a long time. Anyway,
- 1:41:31Speaker 1: I'm gonna get out of here. Like I said, sorry about
- 1:41:33Speaker 1: the Apple podcast update thing. I thought that it was
- 1:41:37Speaker 1: gonna be legit. I didn't know it would you know
- 1:41:40Speaker 1: have a new one. You can literally search it. It's stupid.
- 1:41:43Speaker 1: I understand. I'm gonna try to correct it, but thanks
- 1:41:46Speaker 1: for hanging with me. Tell a friend to tell a friend. Anyway,
- 1:41:49Speaker 1: I'm gonna get out of here, enjoy the fights, See
- 1:41:51Speaker 1: you next week. Piece
