- 0:16Speaker 1: Welcome to jag Zam. I'm kind Annie Stephens, Brian Sexton,
- 0:19Speaker 1: and John Oser are with me today as we recapped
- 0:21Speaker 1: Week one heartbreaking loss for the Jaguars in Miami as
- 0:25Speaker 1: they lose on a game winning field goal by the
- 0:27Speaker 1: Dolphins as time expired. But should it have ever gotten
- 0:30Speaker 1: to that point? We're gonna start out with big thing
- 0:32Speaker 1: number one that melt down in Miami. Things We're all
- 0:35Speaker 1: going the Jaguars way in the first half, then a
- 0:38Speaker 1: fumble in the second half and the momentum completely shifted.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Just let's just when you know, I mean, what do
- 0:48Speaker 2: you want to lose? You want to go and look
- 0:49Speaker 2: at the film, you want to be pissed off. And
- 0:51Speaker 2: I feel like each and every week we got ahead
- 0:53Speaker 2: a mindset, I get want to know, and I feel
- 0:55Speaker 2: like we just have to just flush it, you know,
- 0:57Speaker 2: be critical of what happened on film, and next week
- 0:59Speaker 2: I tackle with from mindset. You know, it's a whole
- 1:01Speaker 2: new week, NFL. It's one week at a time. You know,
- 1:04Speaker 2: we can't let this carry on in this week because
- 1:07Speaker 2: it's not going to let us be out besto. And
- 1:09Speaker 2: now we had to flush this and have to get
- 1:11Speaker 2: better and be.
- 1:11Speaker 3: Better for my teammate Brian.
- 1:13Speaker 1: So much about that loss yesterday was frustrating to watch
- 1:16Speaker 1: from a fans perspective.
- 1:17Speaker 3: I'm sure for the players as well.
- 1:19Speaker 1: But last year their problem was letting this carry over
- 1:21Speaker 1: week after week after week. How do they not do
- 1:24Speaker 1: that this time?
- 1:24Speaker 4: Well, listen, I heard things from Travis there, from Trevor.
- 1:30Speaker 4: It's what I harped on all offseason. They were one
- 1:31Speaker 4: and four in the big games last year, and I
- 1:33Speaker 4: thought yesterday was a big game. They've got to get
- 1:36Speaker 4: over this hump. And I don't know whether it's beating
- 1:38Speaker 4: Cleveland or beating Buffalo, They've got to win one of
- 1:41Speaker 4: these games at the end where it's close, because right
- 1:44Speaker 4: now it doesn't appear that is in their makeup. Trevor
- 1:47Speaker 4: Lawrence talked about it in the post game yesterday what
- 1:49Speaker 4: his expectations are. Listen, you had the fumble and then
- 1:54Speaker 4: the explosive play. Don't forget Parker Washington fumbled on the
- 1:58Speaker 4: kickoff after touchdown, and if it wasn't for incredible effort
- 2:03Speaker 4: to get it either get it back, I mean, it
- 2:05Speaker 4: could have been even worse. So it's a great reminder
- 2:08Speaker 4: that in this league it is one game at a time,
- 2:11Speaker 4: one play at a time, because everything can change, as
- 2:14Speaker 4: it did when that fumble got punched out.
- 2:18Speaker 5: Look, there's plenty to take away from this game positive.
- 2:21Speaker 5: The offensive line played better, the defense I thought I
- 2:24Speaker 5: played really well. There were moments. The problem is in
- 2:28Speaker 5: the last five, six, seven games eighting back to last season,
- 2:30Speaker 5: it's a team that it gets close and doesn't win.
- 2:33Speaker 5: In the NFL. Who cares about the moments, Who cares
- 2:36Speaker 5: about the improvement? You gotta win. So I'm with Brian,
- 2:39Speaker 5: with everybody. This is a big week to show that
- 2:42Speaker 5: this isn't who you are. The theme in the post
- 2:44Speaker 5: game yesterday was hey, it's only one game, it's one
- 2:47Speaker 5: to seventeen. Well, you can't have it be two seventeen
- 2:50Speaker 5: and in three seventeen. You got to fix this. You
- 2:53Speaker 5: got to get it right. Cleveland's a tough spot, but
- 2:56Speaker 5: that's the task this week. The veterans have to step up.
- 3:00Speaker 3: Umber two for us going to be offensive.
- 3:01Speaker 1: The offense was clicking all cylinders seemingly in the first half,
- 3:04Speaker 1: but it was the tail of two halves in the
- 3:06Speaker 1: second half. It seemed to be a huge issue for
- 3:08Speaker 1: the offense and they couldn't get anything going.
- 3:11Speaker 6: No, it was trying to stay on the field, and
- 3:14Speaker 6: you know it really just wanted to stay on the field,
- 3:18Speaker 6: execute the play, stay on the field first and ten
- 3:22Speaker 6: they stopped us me to play and then you know
- 3:25Speaker 6: it turned into a good situation because you know they
- 3:28Speaker 6: ended up missing the field goal there, so, but no,
- 3:30Speaker 6: just I just wanted to stay on the field.
- 3:34Speaker 1: John, You were in the locker room post game a
- 3:36Speaker 1: lot of those players, so they didn't feel like the
- 3:37Speaker 1: Dolphins did anything different. It felt like they built. They
- 3:39Speaker 1: beat themselves. The Jaguars felt like they beat themselves. What
- 3:42Speaker 1: happened in the second half.
- 3:43Speaker 5: Of the offense, Well, this is one of those games
- 3:44Speaker 5: where there's going to be a disconnect between how the
- 3:46Speaker 5: coaches see it and how the fans and the media
- 3:49Speaker 5: see it. Meaning when the coaches look at this, they're
- 3:53Speaker 5: gonna say, look, the running game was working, we were
- 3:56Speaker 5: close on the running game. We stuck with the running game,
- 3:59Speaker 5: and we just couldn't convert third downs. And that's all right.
- 4:02Speaker 5: Jay War's only got fifty plays. When you only get
- 4:04Speaker 5: fifty plays, it's hard to get a lot going offensively.
- 4:07Speaker 5: It's hard to throw and run as much as you
- 4:09Speaker 5: want there's gonna be a lot of complaints and angst
- 4:11Speaker 5: about Trevor only throwing two times in the fourth quarter.
- 4:15Speaker 5: They didn't have the ball that much. They kept going
- 4:17Speaker 5: three and out. When you don't convert third down, Brian,
- 4:21Speaker 5: it makes the whole offense look clunky, because it is.
- 4:24Speaker 5: I think they're gonna think they were close. I think
- 4:26Speaker 5: they're gonna like the good things, but you got to
- 4:28Speaker 5: convert third down.
- 4:29Speaker 4: Listen, you score that one touchdown and then all of
- 4:31Speaker 4: this is, well, we can clean this up. However, in
- 4:34Speaker 4: the fourth quarter they had twelve yards right, and then
- 4:38Speaker 4: when they got the ball back, with the game tied
- 4:40Speaker 4: at seventeen, with four to twenty two to play at
- 4:42Speaker 4: their own thirty yard line, an opportunity take the forur
- 4:45Speaker 4: minute offense, go down the field right, no game on
- 4:47Speaker 4: the running play, sack sack, loss of ten yards. I mean,
- 4:50Speaker 4: that's the part that you just chew on mentally. How
- 4:54Speaker 4: with everything on the line right where you want to be.
- 4:56Speaker 4: It's a one score game, right, It's a one score league.
- 5:00Speaker 4: Most of the games are decided in the fourth quarter
- 5:02Speaker 4: by less than eight points. You're right where you need
- 5:04Speaker 4: to be and you can't get first down, you can't
- 5:08Speaker 4: move the ball at all. That's the part where I'm
- 5:11Speaker 4: scratching my head this morning, saying, how is this team
- 5:13Speaker 4: unable to do anything, especially giving up back to back sacks.
- 5:17Speaker 4: That's the part that for this week I'm gonna be
- 5:19Speaker 4: asking that question.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Our final big thing is gonna be empty tank. The
- 5:22Speaker 1: defense was out there a lot of un Peterson alluded
- 5:25Speaker 1: to in the second half. The offense couldn't stay on
- 5:26Speaker 1: the field, so the defense was out there quite.
- 5:28Speaker 3: Some amount of time. Before the game.
- 5:31Speaker 1: You told me they were gonna hold them to two touchdowns,
- 5:32Speaker 1: I would have said that I will give him a
- 5:33Speaker 1: good shot.
- 5:34Speaker 5: John.
- 5:34Speaker 1: It was frustrating at times to watch, but the defense
- 5:38Speaker 1: was great out there for most of the game, which
- 5:40Speaker 1: just at the end when they've been out there so long.
- 5:42Speaker 5: Yeah, it kind of goes back to the fifty plays offensively.
- 5:44Speaker 5: The only that many plays offensively the defense is on
- 5:46Speaker 5: the field a lot more. I'm kind of like Brian
- 5:50Speaker 5: on this one too. After the fumble, it took on
- 5:53Speaker 5: sort of this air of inevitability about what was going
- 5:56Speaker 5: to happen. To me. I think it was because you
- 6:00Speaker 5: felt like the defense had done what it could. It
- 6:03Speaker 5: had given a yeoman's effort the whole thing, and then
- 6:06Speaker 5: once Tyreek hit the big play, you just kind of
- 6:09Speaker 5: felt like the offense wasn't gonna get going, and then
- 6:12Speaker 5: there wasn't quite enough left to stop the field goal drives.
- 6:16Speaker 5: You know, it's such a game of circumstance. Had the
- 6:21Speaker 5: fumble night happen, you're playing downhill the rest of the way. Defensively,
- 6:25Speaker 5: it felt like they were on even footing the rest
- 6:27Speaker 5: of the way, and the Dolphins were able to wear
- 6:29Speaker 5: them down.
- 6:29Speaker 4: Listen, you hold the Dolphins to seventeen points until the
- 6:32Speaker 4: final play of the game. I mean, that's a win.
- 6:34Speaker 4: This is the number one offense in football last year,
- 6:36Speaker 4: number two in scoring, and you saw how Mike McDaniel
- 6:39Speaker 4: did it on that final drive where they needed thirty
- 6:41Speaker 4: one yards to set up the game winning field goal.
- 6:43Speaker 4: He was swinging it outside to side and forcing the
- 6:46Speaker 4: Jaguars defense, which had been on the field for most
- 6:48Speaker 4: of the game, to run and chase I Chan and
- 6:51Speaker 4: a lot of those guys that are so difficult to catch.
- 6:53Speaker 4: In the first quarter, the Daguars defense, with what too
- 6:58Speaker 4: ten left to play, gave up the thirty one yards
- 7:00Speaker 4: and they just couldn't hold off the Dolphins anymore. But
- 7:02Speaker 4: other than that little stretch there, and I really was
- 7:05Speaker 4: excited about what I saw, and I'm sure Ryan Nielsen
- 7:07Speaker 4: is too.
- 7:09Speaker 3: Stay with us here on Jagzam.

- 7:46Speaker 3: We did a little venue change for.
- 7:47Speaker 1: You guys today as we take things over to the
- 7:50Speaker 1: podcast studio. It's really I mean, I'm not gonna call
- 7:52Speaker 1: out John, but John didn't want to come sit down
- 7:54Speaker 1: in his favorite chair, so.
- 7:55Speaker 5: Well, we did what the Jaguars have to do this
- 7:58Speaker 5: week to do adversity. Something changed we moved on. So
- 8:03Speaker 5: this is the tone center for the week.
- 8:05Speaker 3: Right the way we go through the rest of the week,
- 8:07Speaker 3: we'll set the tone for sure, sets the tone.
- 8:08Speaker 5: Doug needs to mention this in the meeting.
- 8:11Speaker 3: Let's stay the course and provide a good example.
- 8:13Speaker 1: So let's go over some of the highlights from yesterday first,
- 8:15Speaker 1: because the first half there were a lot of highlights
- 8:17Speaker 1: that we saw, and we saw a lot of good
- 8:18Speaker 1: play from the defense early on as well.
- 8:20Speaker 3: But one of the things that impressed me the most
- 8:23Speaker 3: was Brian Thomas Junior.
- 8:24Speaker 1: We've been talking about him, what we expected from him, John,
- 8:26Speaker 1: You've been talking about how you actually have some expectations
- 8:28Speaker 1: for a rookie for once, but he more than exceeded
- 8:30Speaker 1: what I was expecting to see from him.
- 8:32Speaker 3: Right out of the gate. Getting this pass interference call.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Against Dalen Ramsey and then chirping at him after shows
- 8:37Speaker 1: me a little something about what we're going to see from.
- 8:39Speaker 3: Him going forward.
- 8:40Speaker 5: Well, I think he knows he belongs and you don't
- 8:43Speaker 5: really see this from Thomas Junior when he speaks to
- 8:47Speaker 5: the media, you don't see around the building. But when
- 8:50Speaker 5: it came time to compete, when the lights came on.
- 8:53Speaker 5: I don't get the feeling that he was necessarily looking
- 8:55Speaker 5: for that. I think Jalen was probably talking earlier, be
- 9:00Speaker 5: my guess, and BTJ made a play, But Brian. I
- 9:04Speaker 5: think what impressed me most about Brian Thomas Junior was,
- 9:09Speaker 5: you know, nothing looked overly difficult, and it didn't look
- 9:14Speaker 5: like he was playing above himself. He just looked like
- 9:16Speaker 5: he was playing and it looked like there's going to
- 9:19Speaker 5: be things that come easy to him that don't come
- 9:22Speaker 5: easy to most NFL receivers.
- 9:23Speaker 4: He totally belongs. I mean his game translated from LSU
- 9:26Speaker 4: to the pros immediately, like so many of the LSU
- 9:29Speaker 4: receivers have over time. The thing I loved the most
- 9:32Speaker 4: about this play is that Ramsey had to tackle him right.
- 9:35Speaker 3: I mean, Ramsey knew and he still almost caught it beat.
- 9:37Speaker 4: I get he had the hamstring, but Thomas is the
- 9:41Speaker 4: exact opposite of Ramsey. If Ramsey had been a good
- 9:44Speaker 4: guy in the locker room and a jerk on the field,
- 9:45Speaker 4: everybody would have loved him. But he was a jerk
- 9:47Speaker 4: on both. Thomas is a guy who is absolutely a
- 9:51Speaker 4: great guy in the locker room, and I love that
- 9:53Speaker 4: he turned and chirked right at Ramsey and you know
- 9:55Speaker 4: he beat him on the other touchdown too. I mean,
- 9:57Speaker 4: it's just what a great day for Brian tom Junior.
- 10:00Speaker 4: Which she could celebrate it more, but coming in here today,
- 10:02Speaker 4: he's not going to be.
- 10:03Speaker 5: Able to yeah and think about this with him. He uh,
- 10:07Speaker 5: this is the first game and he was huge on
- 10:10Speaker 5: all three touchdown drives he had. On the field goal drive,
- 10:13Speaker 5: I think he had a catch early. He If you
- 10:19Speaker 5: know anything about wide receiver play in the NFL first game,
- 10:23Speaker 5: you're operating at about a ten percent capacity of what
- 10:25Speaker 5: you can be. This kid has a chance to be
- 10:29Speaker 5: a star and to be, you know, Goboard one of
- 10:33Speaker 5: the best receivers this franchise has ever seen. If yesterday's
- 10:36Speaker 5: any is any indicator, well, it.
- 10:38Speaker 4: Was Fred Taylor in our radio post game yesterday that
- 10:40Speaker 4: made the comparison to Jimmy Smith. Now he didn't compare
- 10:43Speaker 4: him directly. What he said was, I don't know that
- 10:45Speaker 4: I've seen a receiver as big and talented as fast
- 10:48Speaker 4: in Jacksonville since the guy who worried you too. Yeah,
- 10:51Speaker 4: let him grow into that. But I'll say this, there
- 10:53Speaker 4: are a lot of people who are concerned that Evan
- 10:54Speaker 4: Ingram only got one catch yesterday for five yards. Hold tight.
- 10:57Speaker 4: That's not going to hold because defenses are going to
- 10:59Speaker 4: have to adjust to the size and speed of Brian
- 11:01Speaker 4: Thomas Junior, and everything's going to get easier for those
- 11:04Speaker 4: other guys.
- 11:05Speaker 1: It's taking advantage of when you do get the ball though.
- 11:07Speaker 1: We'll touch on that a little bit later on. But
- 11:09Speaker 1: that PI call set up this touchdown from ETN. The
- 11:13Speaker 1: running game was looking good early Tanks specifically as well.
- 11:15Speaker 1: From what we saw, he was just running right through
- 11:18Speaker 1: the center. They were setting up holes for him and
- 11:20Speaker 1: he was going for it, and then they got away
- 11:21Speaker 1: from it later, But John reimpressed with what the running
- 11:24Speaker 1: game did early.
- 11:25Speaker 5: Yeah, it was and I think they stuck with it.
- 11:30Speaker 5: And again a lot of my complaints in the inbox
- 11:33Speaker 5: were about that they got away from Trevor in the
- 11:35Speaker 5: fourth quarter at I didn't feel that the stats showed
- 11:38Speaker 5: that more than I felt it. But the reason for
- 11:42Speaker 5: that is they had success. They were four point nine
- 11:46Speaker 5: a carry. That carried over to the second half where
- 11:50Speaker 5: they said we're having success with this, we can't get
- 11:53Speaker 5: away from it, and then it's sort of bit him
- 11:56Speaker 5: a couple of times late. I mean, you know that
- 11:58Speaker 5: success when you're sticking with it and you don't get it,
- 12:01Speaker 5: then all of a sudden you're off the field fast, right.
- 12:03Speaker 5: So I get why the coaches stayed with the run too,
- 12:08Speaker 5: and I think over the course of time, sticking with
- 12:11Speaker 5: it will have benefits. It didn't benefit him in the
- 12:15Speaker 5: fourth quarter on Sunday.
- 12:16Speaker 4: Doug said last week, the best defense against Miami's offense
- 12:21Speaker 4: is the Jaguars offense staying on the field. And they
- 12:24Speaker 4: knew they were more physical front than Miami, and they
- 12:27Speaker 4: pushed them around up front. And when you had a
- 12:29Speaker 4: lead and you didn't have to play from behind and
- 12:31Speaker 4: you didn't have to throw the ball over the field
- 12:33Speaker 4: on a hot day, man lean on those guys and
- 12:35Speaker 4: get it done. I didn't have a problem with the
- 12:37Speaker 4: play calling, and I'll touch on that when we get
- 12:40Speaker 4: into our hot takes, but they just weren't as good
- 12:44Speaker 4: in the second half at running the ball. Miami made plays.
- 12:48Speaker 5: All right.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Let's look at that second touchdown drive from the Jaguars,
- 12:52Speaker 1: big catch by Christian Kirk to set things up, and
- 12:54Speaker 1: then Brian Thomas Junior as well.
- 12:56Speaker 3: Kirk had a rough day, but he did have a
- 12:57Speaker 3: great catch here over the middle that kind of set
- 12:59Speaker 3: things up.
- 13:00Speaker 1: This is what you want to see when you can
- 13:01Speaker 1: establish the run open things up, and whether it's Tim
- 13:04Speaker 1: or Gave Davis had a couple of big plays over
- 13:06Speaker 1: the middle as well. That's the offense we want to
- 13:08Speaker 1: see from them being a little bit more dynamic. Brian,
- 13:10Speaker 1: how do they continue to tap into this as the
- 13:13Speaker 1: season goes forward?
- 13:14Speaker 4: Lisen? You keep the running game going, and that means,
- 13:16Speaker 4: by the way, consistent into the second half, be successful
- 13:20Speaker 4: running the bowl and bringing those safeties up. I think
- 13:23Speaker 4: Tang Pigsby is a great one two punch, and I
- 13:27Speaker 4: have that physicality at the line of scrimmage. Bring the
- 13:29Speaker 4: safeties up with what you got with Kirk and Ingram
- 13:32Speaker 4: and Brian Thomas Junior. This will come. You've got to
- 13:35Speaker 4: be able to be efficient and effective in the running
- 13:37Speaker 4: game when you want to run. If they are his
- 13:41Speaker 4: play action will work and it will work Wonderfulay.
- 13:43Speaker 5: Yeah, that's what I said the top of the show.
- 13:45Speaker 5: It's a tough game to analyze because you saw things
- 13:49Speaker 5: like that that you liked, you know, I feel better
- 13:52Speaker 5: about the running game yesterday, Yeah, than I think I
- 13:55Speaker 5: did at any point last season.
- 13:56Speaker 3: I'm going with you there.
- 13:57Speaker 5: I don't remember every game, but they felt like they
- 13:59Speaker 5: were getting things they wanted to do. Tank was running
- 14:03Speaker 5: with power.
- 14:04Speaker 3: You sort of know that.
- 14:06Speaker 2: You know.
- 14:06Speaker 5: The only concern I have is Travis Dtan is such
- 14:09Speaker 5: a burst runner that if he's not getting as many
- 14:12Speaker 5: carries as he did, does he have as many chances
- 14:14Speaker 5: it bursts. But I think that'll work itself out. You
- 14:17Speaker 5: feel good about that, You feel good about the weapons.
- 14:20Speaker 5: You know, if they'd gotten the win, you'd be doing
- 14:23Speaker 5: cartwheels because you said all these things that you like.
- 14:26Speaker 5: They just have to get a win to sort of
- 14:29Speaker 5: stay afloat and wait for these things to sort of
- 14:32Speaker 5: develop around them, because you feel like it's there, but
- 14:35Speaker 5: you can't.
- 14:37Speaker 4: What you're sake losing.
- 14:38Speaker 5: It's one game, but you can't keep losing and keep
- 14:41Speaker 5: saying it's there.
- 14:42Speaker 4: But what you're saying is the old age, old truism
- 14:44Speaker 4: in the NFL, And it's never as bad as you
- 14:46Speaker 4: think it is. It feels bad because the fumble and
- 14:49Speaker 4: the explosive play and that first down series that didn't
- 14:52Speaker 4: go anywhere, but when you go back and look at it,
- 14:56Speaker 4: you win on Sunday against Cleveland. You're feeling pretty good
- 15:00Speaker 4: some of the things that you've seen in the first
- 15:01Speaker 4: two weeks. Yeah, and being one and one, because remember
- 15:04Speaker 4: in September with the schedule with three or four on
- 15:06Speaker 4: the road, you come out two and two, You're in
- 15:09Speaker 4: a good spot.
- 15:10Speaker 3: We should say.
- 15:11Speaker 1: On the back end of that drive with the touchdown
- 15:13Speaker 1: with Brian Thomas Junior, do you want to say that
- 15:14Speaker 1: throw from Trevor was excellent Brian Thomas Junior to have
- 15:17Speaker 1: the body awareness to go up and get first of all,
- 15:19Speaker 1: when Trevor lagoes the football, he wasn't even in the
- 15:21Speaker 1: end zone yet it's all the way in the back
- 15:22Speaker 1: of the end zone, gets it and the toe tap
- 15:24Speaker 1: it in. I'm just excited to see their growth together
- 15:27Speaker 1: going forward because they're already in sync, which we've seen
- 15:30Speaker 1: sometimes takes Trevor a longer time to get on sync
- 15:33Speaker 1: with newer receivers, and he's already there seemingly with Brian
- 15:35Speaker 1: Thomas Junior. Also, want to give a shout out to
- 15:37Speaker 1: another rookie, Kim Little coming on for how about your
- 15:39Speaker 1: first kick fifty three yards?
- 15:41Speaker 3: Not bad?
- 15:41Speaker 4: You know that was the longest kick in Jaguar's history,
- 15:45Speaker 4: right the fifty three yard field goal until year twenty
- 15:49Speaker 4: until twenty ten, so like fifteen maybe, until Josh Goby
- 15:53Speaker 4: kicked the fifty nine yarder, fifty three was the standard.
- 15:55Speaker 4: And he steps up and meets the standard with his
- 15:57Speaker 4: first NFL kick.
- 15:58Speaker 3: And the leg on it could have been been further.
- 16:00Speaker 5: Yeah, And I was watching that and I'm not going
- 16:04Speaker 5: to say I was scared for the kid, but you're thinking, Okay,
- 16:07Speaker 5: he's had this great preseason. In training camp, the sort
- 16:13Speaker 5: of lingering question was, well can he do it in
- 16:15Speaker 5: the games? And you pull for the kid because you
- 16:18Speaker 5: know he's a Jaguar players, he's like a likable kid,
- 16:22Speaker 5: and you're just like, okay, can he do it now?
- 16:26Speaker 5: And then when he did it, you're like, well, of
- 16:28Speaker 5: course he didn't. He's been doing it the whole time.
- 16:30Speaker 5: He doesn't seem to get affected by stuff, and he
- 16:36Speaker 5: now he looks like a really good long term solution
- 16:38Speaker 5: at that spot.
- 16:39Speaker 4: And by the way, what they get the ball with
- 16:40Speaker 4: one four to begin that drive and it's an answer
- 16:43Speaker 4: to the Dolphins and it pushed the lead. You want
- 16:46Speaker 4: to be excited about something that was a really important,
- 16:49Speaker 4: effective drive for the offense, don't forget that they ended
- 16:52Speaker 4: the first half with that statement field goal and that
- 16:56Speaker 4: drive and that wasn't something that they did last year.
- 17:00Speaker 1: And think about where they were able to do because
- 17:02Speaker 1: they would go for it on four thousand times and
- 17:03Speaker 1: then trust kicks that one.
- 17:05Speaker 5: Right, sort of playing to your point, really impressive. What
- 17:09Speaker 5: ninety six yard drive in the first half of ninety
- 17:11Speaker 5: four and then they get the stop or yeah, they
- 17:17Speaker 5: got the stop. The Dolphins got to the twenty six
- 17:19Speaker 5: Trayvon got the sack in the second half, they get
- 17:21Speaker 5: the stop and then they go down and go ninety
- 17:23Speaker 5: six yards in about three seconds for the fumble.
- 17:26Speaker 3: They did some really.
- 17:27Speaker 5: Impressive things, and yet this league is so difficult because
- 17:33Speaker 5: you do impressive things and of things and then one
- 17:35Speaker 5: play changes it. And to me, unfortunately for Travis, yesterday
- 17:39Speaker 5: really was just about one play.
- 17:41Speaker 4: To me, well, listen, if you go and look at
- 17:42Speaker 4: the numbers a red zone trip with a turnover and
- 17:46Speaker 4: no points, I mean you lose ninety six percent of
- 17:48Speaker 4: the time when you have one of those in the
- 17:50Speaker 4: National Football League.
- 17:51Speaker 1: Let's take a look at the play fumble by Etn
- 17:54Speaker 1: basically as he's going into the end zone and then
- 17:57Speaker 1: that other touchdown going the other way, John, can you
- 18:00Speaker 1: remember us swing that quick?
- 18:02Speaker 3: It was just it was seconds.
- 18:04Speaker 5: It felt like I can't because mainly because of what
- 18:08Speaker 5: of what I just said a second ago, it might
- 18:09Speaker 5: take me a second to get to this point. They
- 18:11Speaker 5: had done so much, so well. The big stop at
- 18:16Speaker 5: the big moment with a Trayvon sack was a big
- 18:18Speaker 5: play because the Dolphins had been at the twenty six.
- 18:20Speaker 5: I mean they were getting points. All of a sudden,
- 18:23Speaker 5: you sat Mimi's momentum, you don't get points, and then
- 18:25Speaker 5: they have a great punt, and then you have a
- 18:28Speaker 5: great drive, like a big time drive, and you feel
- 18:33Speaker 5: like for ten minutes, you feel like they are taking
- 18:36Speaker 5: control of this game. They're gonna hang in an impressive
- 18:39Speaker 5: tone setting victory. He's going in with a great blocked run,
- 18:44Speaker 5: a good run, and then in a second and a
- 18:47Speaker 5: half of the guy Kay was sitting next to him,
- 18:49Speaker 5: and I know she heard me, Guy, I said, are
- 18:50Speaker 5: you kidding me? Not at Travis, fumbling like at Travis,
- 18:56Speaker 5: but just O goodness and then this and you're like,
- 18:59Speaker 5: h of course, in thirty years, I'm sure I've seen something.
- 19:02Speaker 3: Like it, but it was striking.
- 19:04Speaker 5: What momentum change it was.
- 19:05Speaker 4: And we had Fred on radio and he talked about
- 19:08Speaker 4: this look, when you're in the tight red zone like
- 19:09Speaker 4: they were, you got to know that someone's coming for
- 19:12Speaker 4: the ball. You have not outrun anyone someone is near
- 19:16Speaker 4: you because everyone is compacted and you've got to cover
- 19:20Speaker 4: that up. It was a bad It was a bad
- 19:23Speaker 4: decision on Travis to not put both hands on the
- 19:26Speaker 4: ball and be willing to accept not getting into the
- 19:29Speaker 4: end zone because you understood the football situation that you
- 19:33Speaker 4: were in. Somebody was coming for it. And by the way,
- 19:36Speaker 4: Javon Holland happens to be one of the better safeties
- 19:38Speaker 4: in the AFC. That was a great play that he made,
- 19:41Speaker 4: but you could have prevented it by understanding someone's coming
- 19:44Speaker 4: for me. I can see the end zone. Cover it up.
- 19:48Speaker 4: And that's what the coaches are going to be talking about.
- 19:49Speaker 1: And it's the little things, because that's what's been coming
- 19:51Speaker 1: back to bite them, right. It's simple things like that, Yes,
- 19:54Speaker 1: I understand you're seeing green grass. You're like, oh, I'm
- 19:56Speaker 1: going in for the score. But you have to like
- 19:58Speaker 1: in a situation awareness, knowing where you are on the
- 19:59Speaker 1: phae all those things where you are in downs. It's
- 20:02Speaker 1: easier said than done, but it has to be hammered
- 20:04Speaker 1: into them.
- 20:05Speaker 5: I'll say this for Travis. He did great work last
- 20:10Speaker 5: year fixing the quote. Fumbling two, I expect because I
- 20:16Speaker 5: think he's a tough kid. I expect him to bounce
- 20:18Speaker 5: back from this. I don't expect this to be a trend.
- 20:22Speaker 5: Backs fumble. Sometimes they fumble it in opportunity times. I
- 20:26Speaker 5: don't think any great back has ever gone his career
- 20:28Speaker 5: without fumbling. It was a great place, So I think
- 20:33Speaker 5: this is a one off because he had it fixed
- 20:36Speaker 5: last year and did a great job fixing it. So
- 20:38Speaker 5: sometimes circumstances conspire to really hurt a kid, and I
- 20:41Speaker 5: think that's what happened to Travis.
- 20:42Speaker 4: And the defense had a chance to make a play
- 20:44Speaker 4: right Cisco was out a position against Tyrick Hill, so
- 20:48Speaker 4: I mean, it's just not to put it all on Cisco,
- 20:50Speaker 4: but you have a chance you could have stopped him.
- 20:53Speaker 4: And still with four twenty two left to play, you
- 20:55Speaker 4: had the ball first, intending your own thirty. So the
- 20:57Speaker 4: offense had another chance to get it done and they didn't.
- 21:00Speaker 4: Ye was a terrible play. Credit to Travis for standing
- 21:03Speaker 4: in the locker room after the game. There are plenty
- 21:05Speaker 4: of players that should but don't, and he should and
- 21:08Speaker 4: he did so credit to him for standing there. And
- 21:11Speaker 4: I like that Trevor, which, of course, Trevor's gonna handle
- 21:14Speaker 4: this right way. He didn't put it all on anybody
- 21:17Speaker 4: at all. I mean, he said we could have done more.
- 21:19Speaker 5: Well.
- 21:19Speaker 4: I like that part of it.
- 21:20Speaker 5: The reality very much is there was an inevitable feel
- 21:25Speaker 5: after that funnel. Oh yeah, maybe I'm just a cynical
- 21:27Speaker 5: old hack, but that's what you felt like. But the
- 21:31Speaker 5: Dolphins were on their own twenty. There's no rule that
- 21:34Speaker 5: says they have to score in nine seconds.
- 21:35Speaker 3: No, certainly not nine seconds.
- 21:39Speaker 4: It's preposterous.
- 21:40Speaker 3: We touched on.
- 21:40Speaker 1: They did have the ball back several times after that
- 21:42Speaker 1: that they sell the lead at this point. Kirk's third
- 21:47Speaker 1: down drop. There were two balls that Kirk probably normally
- 21:50Speaker 1: we see him catch, and I don't know if that's
- 21:54Speaker 1: just because he missed a little bit of time at
- 21:56Speaker 1: the end of the season, if some you know, he
- 21:58Speaker 1: was hurt and didn't play the back half of last season,
- 22:01Speaker 1: if it's just rust or what it was, but those
- 22:03Speaker 1: are balls he catches.
- 22:04Speaker 4: Nor I will say this in his behalf on the
- 22:06Speaker 4: one that he dropped. Couldn't pull in this one right here,
- 22:09Speaker 4: If if you go back and look, Trevor throws off
- 22:13Speaker 4: of his back foot trying to step and avoid being hit.
- 22:17Speaker 4: Watch here, you see that's not him planting. That's getting
- 22:20Speaker 4: rid of the ball a little bit quickly. I'm not
- 22:21Speaker 4: sure that's as much a drop as it is. The
- 22:24Speaker 4: throw was off and he couldn't adjust to it no
- 22:26Speaker 4: matter what is he five to ten?
- 22:28Speaker 5: Yeah, the other one was at He would probably tell you,
- 22:34Speaker 5: because Christian's the stand up guy, he would probably tell
- 22:37Speaker 5: you he probably left his feet a bit early. But
- 22:39Speaker 5: I think he left his feet a bit early because
- 22:41Speaker 5: the throw came out quicker than you expect it was.
- 22:44Speaker 5: You know, it would have been a great play. It's
- 22:47Speaker 5: the kind of play Christian expects himself to make. The
- 22:50Speaker 5: one in the first half to me was it was
- 22:52Speaker 5: a bigger because it was a drop and you know,
- 22:56Speaker 5: again you go back to moments of situations. One play
- 22:59Speaker 5: can make what is a one play feel like a trend,
- 23:03Speaker 5: if that makes sense. Yeah, so when they had those
- 23:06Speaker 5: drops on third down, it gets it keeps you from
- 23:09Speaker 5: getting third down, so you feel like, oh, they played awful,
- 23:13Speaker 5: Trader only pay awful on the Christian Kirk drop. They
- 23:16Speaker 5: should have been on the field more and gotten probably
- 23:18Speaker 5: gotten points. But it is such a situational league that
- 23:22Speaker 5: when you lose one play like that, that one fumble,
- 23:27Speaker 5: it's not like college where the defense is automatically gonna
- 23:30Speaker 5: get a stop. You're gonna get a short field and
- 23:31Speaker 5: go score. Missing that situation means everything in this league.
- 23:36Speaker 1: Let's look at the Jags final drive, that three and
- 23:38Speaker 1: out that then led to the field goal, because you're
- 23:40Speaker 1: still up at this point. If you can i mean sorry,
- 23:43Speaker 1: it's tied at this point, but if you can go
- 23:45Speaker 1: get yourself in a field goal range, put the pressure
- 23:46Speaker 1: back on Miami. But at no point had they gotten
- 23:49Speaker 1: anything going to that point, and it was just like
- 23:52Speaker 1: you were saying, John, it felt like inevitable at that
- 23:54Speaker 1: point that it was just gonna basically be given to Miami.
- 23:57Speaker 1: But it was just so frustrating because also I felt
- 24:00Speaker 1: like they got away from Tank a little bit. I'd
- 24:02Speaker 1: have to look at the specific numbers, but I know
- 24:04Speaker 1: when they did go back to Tank, then it was
- 24:05Speaker 1: kind of like, and I guess that's what you get
- 24:07Speaker 1: with running backs because they're kind of in the zone
- 24:09Speaker 1: that you take them out, you put them back in.
- 24:11Speaker 3: They don't have the momentum anymore.
- 24:12Speaker 5: But it's gonna be to watch. It's gonna be sort
- 24:14Speaker 5: of a balance to watch, because, look, you don't want
- 24:20Speaker 5: to have Travis not involved the offense. You don't want
- 24:23Speaker 5: to have Tank not involved with the offense. Well, guess what,
- 24:26Speaker 5: it's basically a one back offense. So you're gonna you're
- 24:29Speaker 5: gonna have to play with that a little bit. And
- 24:32Speaker 5: then as soon as one play gets blown up, everybody's
- 24:36Speaker 5: gonna be like, well, they should been playing the other guy,
- 24:37Speaker 5: of course. So it's gonna be a little bit of
- 24:39Speaker 5: what we're talking about. The offensive line, I thought blocked
- 24:45Speaker 5: really well in the run game, played very well, and
- 24:49Speaker 5: if you take the totality of the game, you feel like, hey,
- 24:52Speaker 5: this group made some strides. Anton Harrison me had a
- 24:55Speaker 5: tough game. But beyond that, I thought a lot of
- 24:58Speaker 5: good things. And yet in the NFL, when you give
- 25:01Speaker 5: up two secs on the last drive and then can't
- 25:03Speaker 5: get it going in.
- 25:03Speaker 4: The fourth quarter, that's the only one's gonna remember.
- 25:05Speaker 5: Yeah, said they're going to remember probably the fourth quarter, Yeah,
- 25:09Speaker 5: which they should because that's winning time for man.
- 25:11Speaker 1: That's it all right, Stay with us here. We're gonna
- 25:12Speaker 1: do some hot takes when we come back after the break.

- 25:27Speaker 1: get ready to bring you our hot takes from Firehouse
- 25:30Speaker 1: Subs today, Brian, I know you alluded to yours a
- 25:32Speaker 1: little bit earlier, but what's your bet take for us
- 25:34Speaker 1: after week one?
- 25:34Speaker 3: Who cares?
- 25:35Speaker 1: Who? Right?
- 25:36Speaker 5: I mean?
- 25:36Speaker 4: Play calling was not the issue yesterday, and I get
- 25:39Speaker 4: that some people wanted to see more passes, but we
- 25:41Speaker 4: just explained that they were up by ten points in
- 25:44Speaker 4: the third quarter. They wanted to run the ball short
- 25:46Speaker 4: in the game and get off the field because their
- 25:48Speaker 4: defense was doing a great job and they wanted to
- 25:50Speaker 4: have it rested because they knew it was coming. In
- 25:53Speaker 4: the fourth quarter big passes by the Dolphins on their
- 25:55Speaker 4: attempt to come back. So I have no issue with
- 25:59Speaker 4: their strategy. There not a play calling issue, So let's
- 26:02Speaker 4: go right to it. Fourth down and one right on
- 26:05Speaker 4: that all important series, although it didn't turn out to
- 26:08Speaker 4: be that important because they missed the field goal. That's
- 26:11Speaker 4: a bread and butter play. If you go back and
- 26:13Speaker 4: watch that play last year, in the year before, that
- 26:16Speaker 4: is a Travis etn Staple running over the left tackle
- 26:19Speaker 4: and if Oba doesn't blow the play up, which he did, man,
- 26:23Speaker 4: there is all kinds of room and they look like
- 26:26Speaker 4: heroes there and they've stopped the bleeding of momentum. And
- 26:30Speaker 4: that's why Doug went for it there. But that's it.
- 26:33Speaker 4: I'll give you the best one. You go to look
- 26:34Speaker 4: for highlight, go watch the end of the twenty two
- 26:36Speaker 4: game in Houston where Travis went for sixty seven yards
- 26:39Speaker 4: for the touchdown. It really blew that game wide open.
- 26:41Speaker 4: That was the same play. It's not a play calling issue.
- 26:44Speaker 4: It's execution. Whoever Obo was supposed to block didn't. Whoever
- 26:49Speaker 4: was supposed to block, Oh, Bud didn't do it.
- 26:51Speaker 1: I come bag at you with this. Then this is
- 26:52Speaker 1: the offensive line they wanted. They said they're healthy. Is
- 26:55Speaker 1: this the offensive line that's going to be able to execute?
- 26:57Speaker 3: The point was in.
- 26:58Speaker 4: That's not a play calling issue. Then that's personnel is
- 27:00Speaker 4: with you, And that wasn't my hot take. My hot
- 27:02Speaker 4: take was it's an execution issue, not a play calling issue. Look,
- 27:06Speaker 4: I was not impressed with the offensive line in the
- 27:10Speaker 4: second half yesterday. They didn't run it as well as
- 27:12Speaker 4: they did in the first half, and they give up
- 27:14Speaker 4: two sacks on that final drive where they were tied.
- 27:18Speaker 4: So I'm not going to defend them at all. But
- 27:22Speaker 4: there were so many people that called the radio show
- 27:24Speaker 4: yesterday who wanted to go right back to it's Price
- 27:26Speaker 4: Taylor's fault. You know they're going forward on fourth down. No,
- 27:29Speaker 4: Press Taylor doesn't decide to go for it on fourth down. No,
- 27:32Speaker 4: that's a dog doesn't want that. No, No, that's a
- 27:35Speaker 4: Doug Peterson call. So they look at their call sheet
- 27:39Speaker 4: and say, what's our best play? What can we count on?
- 27:42Speaker 4: And they can generally count on that bread and butter
- 27:45Speaker 4: play from Travis etn Go watch it. It's an off
- 27:48Speaker 4: tackle left run. It's one of their favorites with him.
- 27:52Speaker 4: But whoever was supposed to block ninety one missed terribly.
- 27:56Speaker 4: That is not Press Taylor's fault or Doug Peterson's fault.
- 27:58Speaker 4: Whoever called the place's fault. It's an execution ball.
- 28:01Speaker 5: It's always coaching in the NFL.
- 28:03Speaker 4: Oh except as a player's league.
- 28:05Speaker 5: Right, So I agree that the call was fine. There
- 28:10Speaker 5: there's a lot of people saying today, well, why does
- 28:12Speaker 5: Doug go for in that situation?
- 28:14Speaker 4: That's a fair question.
- 28:15Speaker 3: Doug's always been that guy though.
- 28:16Speaker 5: That's what he's going to do. I mean, if you
- 28:18Speaker 5: don't want that, then then you don't want him because
- 28:23Speaker 5: that's who he's going to be and he's not changing
- 28:26Speaker 5: anytime soon. Mine was at exactly what the take was. Oh,
- 28:34Speaker 5: time to be telling you now, that was time for tough.
- 28:36Speaker 5: And what I mean by this is this. They went
- 28:39Speaker 5: out in the off season and every free agent they
- 28:42Speaker 5: got was a veteran, savvy guy who'd been there before.
- 28:46Speaker 5: H Eric Armstead, Darnel Savage. Well, and I'm not criticizing
- 28:53Speaker 5: these guys, but every free agent they got gave Davis
- 28:56Speaker 5: Minch Morris was a veteran who had been on playoff team.
- 29:01Speaker 5: Well week one, Now, guess what you're facing some adversity,
- 29:07Speaker 5: that element meaning let's just figure out a way to
- 29:11Speaker 5: go win, get this fixed, get it right. Being NFL
- 29:17Speaker 5: tough late fourth quarter team that's what they need. Now
- 29:22Speaker 5: it's in the next couple of weeks we're going to
- 29:24Speaker 5: see if that approach worked.
- 29:25Speaker 4: The word that I want to use, and I'm kind
- 29:27Speaker 4: of a performance nerd. I kind of like to figure
- 29:31Speaker 4: out what it is that makes people achieve. Right, I've
- 29:34Speaker 4: seen it for thirty years in here, the words resilience.
- 29:36Speaker 4: The Jaguars were not a resilient team in the fourth
- 29:39Speaker 4: quarter yesterday. They were not a resilient team at the
- 29:42Speaker 4: end of last season. Maybe you put your finger in
- 29:46Speaker 4: the dyke in the first game and you just kind
- 29:50Speaker 4: of slow it. But by the second game, and you
- 29:51Speaker 4: better fix it. You better become a resilient team because
- 29:55Speaker 4: bad things happen through the course of a sixty minute game.
- 29:59Speaker 4: You're going to need that grit, that resilience, and this
- 30:01Speaker 4: team hasn't shown enough of it. Resilience is my word
- 30:04Speaker 4: this week.
- 30:05Speaker 1: I'm gonna build off John's I know we talk about
- 30:06Speaker 1: it a lot and we make fun of it a lot,
- 30:08Speaker 1: because every game is a must win game in the NFL.
- 30:10Speaker 1: But it's a must win game and the home opener
- 30:12Speaker 1: on Sunday because for me to come out, it's not
- 30:16Speaker 1: the loss against Miami I think that I was fifty
- 30:18Speaker 1: to fifty on that and when going into things. But
- 30:21Speaker 1: you need to be able to be resilient, as you're saying,
- 30:23Speaker 1: and you have to be able to build it from
- 30:25Speaker 1: game to game. When you feel momentum shift in a game,
- 30:27Speaker 1: it's hard immediately to make those changes and get back
- 30:30Speaker 1: on track. That's something you build up over time. And
- 30:32Speaker 1: having confidence in yourself and having this week to set
- 30:35Speaker 1: up get ready to take on a team that also
- 30:37Speaker 1: played poorly in Week one, you should have the utmost
- 30:39Speaker 1: confidence in the world in front of your hometown when
- 30:42Speaker 1: you had troubles at home last year. You need to
- 30:45Speaker 1: come in and play strong and get a win. Turn
- 30:47Speaker 1: this around for yourself because then you're going out on
- 30:49Speaker 1: Monday Night football. That's not an easy matchup. We've talked
- 30:51Speaker 1: about the beginning of the season being tough. If you
- 30:53Speaker 1: go oh to three oh and four, like there's that's
- 30:56Speaker 1: not where.
- 30:56Speaker 3: We need to be at. I would love to win.
- 30:58Speaker 4: I would love to channel my inner Ryan Nielsen. When
- 31:01Speaker 4: I asked him about Opening Day after practice on Wednesday
- 31:03Speaker 4: last week, he said, Brian, he said, there are seventeen
- 31:05Speaker 4: of these, this is just one of them. However, having
- 31:08Speaker 4: watched the way that they melted after the fumble, and
- 31:13Speaker 4: I don't forget by the way that Parker Washington fumbled
- 31:18Speaker 4: on the kickoff after Tyreek's touchdown and by the grace
- 31:22Speaker 4: of his effort, got back there and got it back.
- 31:24Speaker 4: So I'm with you, I don't know that this is
- 31:26Speaker 4: a resilient team yet and can overcome losing on Sunday
- 31:31Speaker 4: and be ready for Monday Night football.
- 31:32Speaker 5: Yeah, I think you guys have hit on it. Sunday
- 31:37Speaker 5: will show a lot about the resilience of this team,
- 31:40Speaker 5: and I feel like they have a chance to be
- 31:45Speaker 5: pretty good. But good teams in the NFL have to
- 31:51Speaker 5: win the kind of games they lost yesterday.
- 31:54Speaker 1: And it's learning that and learning that little things matter
- 31:57Speaker 1: even when you think they don't matter.
- 31:59Speaker 3: And I think that's a learned habit.
- 32:01Speaker 1: So for me, that's why I'm taking the time from
- 32:02Speaker 1: week to week to be like, Okay, I understand things
- 32:05Speaker 1: happen in the moment.
- 32:05Speaker 3: All that went down, big momentum shift. We all felt it.
- 32:09Speaker 1: Now you need to regroup. Now you need to be resilient,
- 32:11Speaker 1: as you're saying, and not let this get away from you.
- 32:14Speaker 4: Yeah, all right, Like I said, I would have loved
- 32:17Speaker 4: to disagree with you, but I couldn't do.
- 32:18Speaker 3: It's a very excellent point. Thank you very much.
- 32:20Speaker 1: I love a compliment this early on a Monday, Jaguars
- 32:23Speaker 1: fans on Tuesday, that's tomorrow, September tenth, from five to six,
- 32:26Speaker 1: you can head over to Publics located in Neptune Beach
- 32:28Speaker 1: brand it's your neck of the woods. Ross Madison, cam
- 32:31Speaker 1: Little Assio, Tomeo Tyler Lacy of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
- 32:35Speaker 3: Is going to be making an appearance there as we
- 32:36Speaker 3: get ready for that home opener against the Browns I mentioned.
- 32:39Speaker 1: That's the Public's located at six thirty Atlantic Boulevard in
- 32:41Speaker 1: Neptune Beach Tomorrow from five to six for a meet
- 32:44Speaker 1: and greet with all of those guys at Publics where
- 32:47Speaker 1: shopping is a pleasure and the home opener is going
- 32:49Speaker 1: to be brought to you by EverBank this week. Advantage
- 32:52Speaker 1: you make the most of your money at EverBank dot com.
- 32:54Speaker 1: Slash Jaguars don't want to be entirely well as me,
- 32:56Speaker 1: and we're talking about the home opener with the Browns.
- 32:57Speaker 1: Had a pretty rough go in week one two, so
- 33:00Speaker 1: hopefully all things even You figure things out.
- 33:04Speaker 5: Yeah, but they'll be ready and they will They'll be
- 33:06Speaker 5: just as desperate as a jag. So it's a big
- 33:09Speaker 5: game for both and her lose is gonna be in
- 33:11Speaker 5: a big hole.
- 33:11Speaker 4: Well, and listen, Anton Harrison really struggled yesterday, And I
- 33:15Speaker 4: would have never said that he was going to because
- 33:17Speaker 4: I thought he had a terrific camp when he was healthy.
- 33:19Speaker 4: He gets Miles Garrett the grim Reaper, right, and when
- 33:22Speaker 4: you go back and look, since twenty seventeen, he has
- 33:25Speaker 4: eighty eight and a half sacks, second only to TJ. Watt,
- 33:28Speaker 4: but more importantly, he has at least fourteen sacks in
- 33:31Speaker 4: three consecutive seasons. The guy is an absolute beast. Anton
- 33:35Speaker 4: is going to have to step it up this week.
- 33:38Speaker 4: He's going to have to rebound, be resilient and find
- 33:40Speaker 4: a way to block Miles Garrett.
- 33:42Speaker 5: I but he does, then he's too good a player,
- 33:44Speaker 5: not tie.
- 33:44Speaker 3: You see him do him last year.
- 33:45Speaker 1: I mean he was thrown right into the fire there
- 33:47Speaker 1: against Chris Jones I think in the first then week two.
- 33:49Speaker 3: So he's done it. He's gone up against good ones.
- 33:51Speaker 3: We know he can do it, So bounce back this week.
- 33:54Speaker 1: Hopefully we'll see that we'll be back with you later
- 33:56Speaker 1: in this week as we really dive into that matchup
- 33:58Speaker 1: against the Rounds. Thanks for joining us, see you back
- 34:00Speaker 1: here on Wednesday.
