- 0:01Speaker 1: With the Premier League pause, we gather together for a
- 0:03Speaker 1: game of buy, sell or hold. We salute the form
- 0:07Speaker 1: of Sacca as we assess premiums again. Plus we look
- 0:09Speaker 1: at fixtures and where the swings are coming. Hi guys,
- 0:18Speaker 1: it's Thursday, International break time, but FBL pod is as
- 0:21Speaker 1: always back and we're all together in person in a
- 0:24Speaker 1: studio in London. So good morning, Sam Bonfield. Sam, I
- 0:28Speaker 1: near he married you. It would be a bit odd that.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Sorry to respective mister bomb Shield and missus Laurron. Gosh,
- 0:37Speaker 1: it's been quite the week for me, as you can
- 0:38Speaker 1: tell because I can't even remember your name. Sam breaks
- 0:41Speaker 1: treating you fine, thank you.
- 0:43Speaker 2: It's always nice to get into the international break with
- 0:45Speaker 2: the green erra.
- 0:46Speaker 1: So a minute, not even a minute to mention it.
- 0:50Speaker 1: It's a bit of a bad week for Usty in
- 0:52Speaker 1: the studio, isn't it all? Particularly you actually.
- 0:54Speaker 3: Big red Red Arrow for the international break. I'm loving
- 0:57Speaker 3: it that. It's good. I can forget a little bit
- 1:00Speaker 3: about FPL.
- 1:00Speaker 4: And just focus on you know, France, England's great games
- 1:03Speaker 4: against Finland and.
- 1:04Speaker 3: Greece and all that stuff.
- 1:05Speaker 1: So here we go again.
- 1:06Speaker 3: I love the international break England, haven't played yet. No,
- 1:09Speaker 3: but there I too.
- 1:10Speaker 4: As we're recording this, I'm just excited for all England
- 1:13Speaker 4: fans to see some great games this week.
- 1:16Speaker 1: This is the FPL pod nothing to do with England.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Let's let's bring it background to FPL. Then we'll go
- 1:23Speaker 1: with you first, Juels, Let's rip the band aid off.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Let's be honest. It's not as bad as cold Palmer Gate.
- 1:27Speaker 1: But it wasn't great last week, was it?
- 1:29Speaker 3: It wasn't great?
- 1:30Speaker 4: Thirty six points only my Bob, Brian and Bomo returning,
- 1:34Speaker 4: with Katjavez only two players returning.
- 1:36Speaker 3: The rest was pretty rubbish. Let's be honest.
- 1:39Speaker 4: I got a bit unlucky with concides injury, like a
- 1:41Speaker 4: lot of managers. Andy Robertson not starting was not great either.
- 1:45Speaker 4: Arsenally then keeping not keeping a cling sheet west Ham either.
- 1:49Speaker 3: So pretty much everything that could have gone wrong when wrong.
- 1:51Speaker 3: So here we go.
- 1:52Speaker 4: No such either because I went for Harvard and Thesaka
- 1:55Speaker 4: Salah Palmer discussion, which well we have again later. We
- 1:59Speaker 4: still much in my mind, I almost made the transfer
- 2:02Speaker 4: Salah for Palmer, to be fair, not even Soka. I
- 2:05Speaker 4: didn't Indian she.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Kind of made peace with not having Socca hadn't you
- 2:08Speaker 1: before last week?
- 2:09Speaker 3: I felt like, yeah, yeah.
- 2:10Speaker 4: And again I maintained that it's very difficult to have
- 2:13Speaker 4: two of those three, so you pick one of who
- 2:15Speaker 4: you feel the better between Salah.
- 2:17Speaker 3: Palma and Sokka, and I got it wrong.
- 2:19Speaker 1: This week does prove that maybe we're not. We're talking
- 2:21Speaker 1: about last week when we were talking about which premium
- 2:23Speaker 1: to go for, and you can't jump between them because
- 2:26Speaker 1: you just don't know when they are going to get
- 2:27Speaker 1: the points, like I was considering after Cole Palma did
- 2:30Speaker 1: what col Palma did going from soccer to Palmer. Thank
- 2:32Speaker 1: goodness I didn't because Socca got me a score that
- 2:35Speaker 1: was fifty eight. That's twenty two points more than you.
- 2:38Speaker 1: You gave me a lot of stick last week. But yeah,
- 2:41Speaker 1: another and that's two in three weeks scores that begin
- 2:44Speaker 1: with three for you.
- 2:46Speaker 3: Are you sure?
- 2:46Speaker 1: No?
- 2:46Speaker 3: I had two good weeks in a row.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Sure? Yeah? Six in game week seven, sixty one in
- 2:51Speaker 1: game week six.
- 2:52Speaker 4: Oh yeah, yeah, that's when I overtook you. You know,
- 2:54Speaker 4: now you just three of me, it's fine, yeah.
- 2:58Speaker 1: But I do enjoy it when you get because with three,
- 3:00Speaker 1: that's something that Sam doesn't know about but he was
- 3:01Speaker 1: having a brilliant this season. Actually, you have a brilliant season.
- 3:05Speaker 1: But I actually got four points more than you last week.
- 3:07Speaker 1: I'm quite proud of that. Any week that I beat
- 3:09Speaker 1: you and is a good week. Fifty four though probably
- 3:13Speaker 1: like me, like you said, pretty happy with that.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, pretty happy. Given World Card did it either.
- 3:18Speaker 2: It's still they're taking along quite nicely at the minute.
- 3:21Speaker 2: My team, so pretty happy. There were a couple of
- 3:24Speaker 2: annoyances in there. I think I bought him McNeil didn't
- 3:29Speaker 2: love the fixture last week, but brought him for the
- 3:31Speaker 2: longer term.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I hold on a sec.
- 3:34Speaker 3: Did you mention that?
- 3:35Speaker 1: So I made that She's just done. Honestly, I'm speaking.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Spent too much time with him, I think. So I
- 3:45Speaker 2: made that decision really late. It came from nowhere. So
- 3:47Speaker 2: we recorded the pod on when did we recorded last week?
- 3:50Speaker 1: Thursday?
- 3:51Speaker 2: Whatever day it was. And at no point that I
- 3:53Speaker 2: even considered McNeil. I really wanted m Bonmo and I
- 3:56Speaker 2: just couldn't. I just couldn't do it. The only way
- 3:58Speaker 2: to do it was to sell Jotter. Then I wanted
- 4:01Speaker 2: Brennan Johnson and I just couldn't work out how to
- 4:03Speaker 2: get him either without making big changes to my team.
- 4:06Speaker 1: I really thought he was going to end up in
- 4:08Speaker 1: your team. He ended up in We had your husband
- 4:10Speaker 1: Lee on the FBL show last week and he'd brought
- 4:12Speaker 1: in Brennan Johnson and I was influenced massively. Did that
- 4:16Speaker 1: turn you against it? No?
- 4:17Speaker 2: I really, I really wanted it. In fact, I've never
- 4:20Speaker 2: celebrated a goal with him quite as much. I think
- 4:26Speaker 2: for me, he's an awkward price point and I was
- 4:29Speaker 2: zero point two short of being able to afford him,
- 4:32Speaker 2: and I was just like, oh, and so I was back,
- 4:35Speaker 2: wasn't forward on what to do, and I wanted to
- 4:37Speaker 2: keep Jotter because he seemed to be the right one
- 4:40Speaker 2: again he felt like.
- 4:42Speaker 1: The wrong one when we went for and now.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Yeah, in the last couple of weeks he's saved my
- 4:46Speaker 2: bacon in both game weeks, really, and so I wanted
- 4:48Speaker 2: to keep him, but it meant I needed a cheap option,
- 4:53Speaker 2: and I didn't want to play smith Row against Manchester City.
- 4:55Speaker 2: And actually in the end it was the right decision
- 4:56Speaker 2: because he was benched anyway. So I don't really have
- 4:59Speaker 2: a bench at the moment because of the Barco situation,
- 5:05Speaker 2: and there were a couple of players I looked at.
- 5:06Speaker 2: I very very nearly went Carvalier, who was my differential
- 5:09Speaker 2: last week. But I decided in the end that if
- 5:11Speaker 2: I did that with FISA back training on the grass,
- 5:14Speaker 2: I was a bit worried about how long term that
- 5:16Speaker 2: pick would be and maybe that would cause me some
- 5:18Speaker 2: problems further down the line, whereas with McNeil, the fixtures
- 5:21Speaker 2: are nice, and I thought, if I do that, I'm
- 5:22Speaker 2: probably not booking in the wild card jack and just
- 5:25Speaker 2: let it ride down and see what happened booking in
- 5:27Speaker 2: the wild card.
- 5:27Speaker 1: So I'd so much more organized than us. When's it
- 5:32Speaker 1: currently booked in for okay? So we've got another five
- 5:36Speaker 1: weeks card? Okay. So yeah, last week was all about
- 5:40Speaker 1: I was gonna say cold Palmer, It's all about Buccayo Saka.
- 5:42Speaker 1: By the way, just to confirm, he was sold by
- 5:44Speaker 1: two hundred thousand, two hundred and fifty nine thousand. Even
- 5:49Speaker 1: numbers really aren't my thing. Two hundred and fifty nine thousand,
- 5:51Speaker 1: one hundred and ninety seven managers. A lot of those
- 5:54Speaker 1: did move to Parmer. So yeah, it didn't pay off,
- 5:56Speaker 1: but potentially it'll be back to Palmer. Next week. Who
- 5:58Speaker 1: knows are those Chelsea fixtures look a little bit more difficult.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Let's check in with the Pod Mini League coder reminder
- 6:04Speaker 1: Q seven y C zero and the leader at the
- 6:08Speaker 1: top is Quaku and Comma a Samoa's team Drummer Boys United.
- 6:12Speaker 1: They've got seventy five points this week. We thought our
- 6:14Speaker 1: scoo was good. Yeah, I need to stop reading this
- 6:17Speaker 1: pop on mini league because always depressed me about my team.
- 6:19Speaker 1: They also did take a minus four, but well done.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Captain Soccer still had Palmer in their team and Bemo
- 6:25Speaker 1: and Harz as well. Second place Sumann Sutter returned eighty
- 6:28Speaker 1: two points this week, also captain in soccer, and they
- 6:31Speaker 1: did pedro to de Lap Are you ever going to
- 6:34Speaker 1: bring him in?
- 6:35Speaker 2: What problem I've got now is that I've got a
- 6:37Speaker 2: Watkins tarl and so lanky front three, and you like that.
- 6:40Speaker 1: I do like that, but I do still free up
- 6:42Speaker 1: some funds for mids. I know.
- 6:44Speaker 2: I look longingly at the Lap every time I watch
- 6:48Speaker 2: come on.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Every time he scores. Okay, so thank you to everyone
- 6:52Speaker 1: who is playing against us in our mini league. Let's
- 6:55Speaker 1: move on now and we're going to play a game that
- 6:56Speaker 1: we haven't played for a little while. It's called byell
- 7:00Speaker 1: and hold because we're at a point I'm going to
- 7:02Speaker 1: come on this in just a moment where there are
- 7:03Speaker 1: some fixture swings. We're all taking stock of where our
- 7:06Speaker 1: teams are, so maybe we want to move on some
- 7:09Speaker 1: of the popular players. This first name I'm going to
- 7:11Speaker 1: throw to you. I reckon We're all going to be
- 7:13Speaker 1: unanimous in what we say on this, but I do
- 7:15Speaker 1: think there's a conversation around earling Harland Jewels.
- 7:19Speaker 4: I think the only conversation from me is around the
- 7:20Speaker 4: captaincy and how regularly we look at him as a
- 7:23Speaker 4: captain because other than that, even at his price, I
- 7:26Speaker 4: think it's a most KiB has to keep definitely keeping
- 7:30Speaker 4: not selling.
- 7:30Speaker 3: I don't know whatever way you want to.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Be out of fear of other people owning him, or
- 7:35Speaker 1: is that just because you just think he's still the
- 7:37Speaker 1: best player in the game.
- 7:38Speaker 3: Yeah, I think he's still the best playing in the game,
- 7:39Speaker 3: even though it's price. Yeah.
- 7:40Speaker 1: I guess it's easier to have this conversation when he's
- 7:43Speaker 1: had a blank at home, which we're not used to,
- 7:44Speaker 1: and it feels it feels so much worse him blanking
- 7:47Speaker 1: at home because his home record is so extraordinarily good.
- 7:51Speaker 1: I wouldn't get rid of him. But that's because I'm
- 7:52Speaker 1: a sheep and I live. I play this game in fear.
- 7:56Speaker 1: I have had a few people, yeah, the sheep, he
- 7:59Speaker 1: can't be your points. I've seen a few people saying
- 8:04Speaker 1: that maybe you could redistribute those funds that says, oh,
- 8:09Speaker 1: we don't even need to ask, Yeah.
- 8:12Speaker 2: Don't Southampton Bourne of Brighton.
- 8:14Speaker 1: I also think the reason I wouldn't get rid of
- 8:16Speaker 1: him as well is there's no obvious other place to go.
- 8:18Speaker 1: I know a few people are trying to get on
- 8:19Speaker 1: phil Foden early, but we have no evidence to back
- 8:22Speaker 1: up field Fodons the Phil Fodon of last season just yet.
- 8:24Speaker 4: Yeah, the wingers rotate a lot, so you can go
- 8:26Speaker 4: for Door, but then he's Gradish and Silver play wide
- 8:30Speaker 4: and Gradish are not really that efficient on the game,
- 8:34Speaker 4: so only in terms of once return. So yeah, I
- 8:37Speaker 4: don't know where you got really attacking whitse for city
- 8:40Speaker 4: if you don't get and I.
- 8:41Speaker 2: Think the back to back blanks make people think about selling.
- 8:45Speaker 2: But before that, he's got sixty seven points so far
- 8:49Speaker 2: this season. That's top in the game ten returns and
- 8:51Speaker 2: seven matches, three double digitals, fourteen bonus points, Like that's
- 8:54Speaker 2: not the sort of player that you look to sell,
- 8:56Speaker 2: Like that's not a priority transfer. I think maybe if
- 8:59Speaker 2: you've on this far without having Harlan, you can consider
- 9:03Speaker 2: whether you want to invest the fifteen million. But those
- 9:05Speaker 2: fixtures just look too nice not to have him. And
- 9:09Speaker 2: I think you're quite right in what you say, like
- 9:11Speaker 2: it's really hard to pick somebody else in that Man
- 9:13Speaker 2: City team. So if you want to invest in City
- 9:17Speaker 2: for those fixtures which you're going to, it kind of feels.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Like it has to be hardened. You can't. I didn't
- 9:22Speaker 1: try and make it into me, try.
- 9:23Speaker 3: To be fair.
- 9:24Speaker 4: If you don't have him, you can easily then have Parmus,
- 9:26Speaker 4: I can Sally in your midfield.
- 9:29Speaker 3: That's then doable.
- 9:30Speaker 1: But I'm sorry, And we talked last week about not
- 9:31Speaker 1: having premiums and having to ride it out. Surely that's
- 9:33Speaker 1: the scariest scenario, isn't it.
- 9:35Speaker 3: Yeah, but it's fixtures as well. Yeah.
- 9:37Speaker 4: No, it's true about the future. But as we always say,
- 9:39Speaker 4: and we say it again, it's whoever you replace him with.
- 9:41Speaker 4: If you pick the right people to replace him and
- 9:43Speaker 4: they return pretty much every week if you have a
- 9:46Speaker 4: font three of what King Solonky.
- 9:47Speaker 3: And I don't know, there's an esach for the sake
- 9:51Speaker 3: of it.
- 9:51Speaker 4: And all three are really performing and really doing well,
- 9:54Speaker 4: and you can see they are. They have their momentum
- 9:57Speaker 4: and keep scoring on a really good scoring run and
- 10:00Speaker 4: the midfield of Sala Saka and Palma plus one and
- 10:04Speaker 4: you play three four three. That's potentially okay to not
- 10:07Speaker 4: have highlands, but it's sorto very risky.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Okay. That's probably the biggest Holland in or out debate
- 10:12Speaker 1: we've ever had on that. I think yes, yeah, I
- 10:16Speaker 1: think we have ultimately all said yes, but we've offered
- 10:19Speaker 1: some counter arguments and Semeno been very popular in the game.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Are could be bormous stand up player Sam, I'd tell.
- 10:26Speaker 4: Him, you have to be the fixtures that they have
- 10:28Speaker 4: coming arsenal Villa in city.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:31Speaker 2: He's averaging four point four points to start, so he's
- 10:33Speaker 2: been playing well.
- 10:34Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, but the.
- 10:35Speaker 2: Fixture is the way that they are. I think you sell.
- 10:38Speaker 2: I think there's other players at that price point now
- 10:40Speaker 2: that have nicer fixtures you could go to. Well, depends
- 10:43Speaker 2: if you've got more budget, if you've got more budget.
- 10:45Speaker 2: Then you can go back to Brendan Johnson getting another
- 10:48Speaker 2: shout out on this pod.
- 10:49Speaker 1: But you can go up to him and sponsored by.
- 10:54Speaker 3: He he does deserve sixteen six is impressive.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Yeah wait he scores for Whales and then yeah, yeah,
- 11:02Speaker 2: I went to White McNeil last week, who has got
- 11:04Speaker 2: a fantastic fixture one coming up and you could hold
- 11:07Speaker 2: him for a while and is the most creative midfielder
- 11:09Speaker 2: in the.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Game right now.
- 11:10Speaker 4: So he plays central and now you remember it used
- 11:12Speaker 4: to be a White player and he plays just behind
- 11:14Speaker 4: cover Lewin, which I think is much better for him,
- 11:16Speaker 4: for Everton, for.
- 11:17Speaker 1: The game for yeah, okay, what do you think Jews?
- 11:22Speaker 4: Yeah, I have him, but he was always going to
- 11:24Speaker 4: come for this pier that he had done. After that,
- 11:26Speaker 4: I would have sold him before this incredible Arsenal arsenal
- 11:29Speaker 4: Villa City back to back fixtures.
- 11:32Speaker 1: I think you're going to sell him this week? Okay
- 11:35Speaker 1: are you? You've got him to know, and I'm going
- 11:36Speaker 1: to give him another week just because of other things
- 11:39Speaker 1: that I've got to do in my team. But to ask.
- 11:45Speaker 3: I mean, if you if you could bring it's certainly
- 11:51Speaker 3: very accordingly.
- 11:52Speaker 1: I haven't fully decided what I'm going to do at
- 11:53Speaker 1: this point, but I'm happy if I keep him for
- 11:55Speaker 1: another week. I do think Arsenal is a tough fixture.
- 11:58Speaker 1: Obviously I'm not but okay, he all be sold in
- 12:02Speaker 1: this podcast. No, I know he needs to be sold.
- 12:07Speaker 1: I just don't know if he'll be the first one
- 12:09Speaker 1: mention this as it stands. Looking at my team. No,
- 12:13Speaker 1: because I don't trust Dominic Calvert Lewin, who is so
- 12:15Speaker 1: at the moment is in my team. If it was
- 12:17Speaker 1: Arsenal away, I wouldn't think about it. You'd played Dominic
- 12:20Speaker 1: Cavet Lewin over. I just feel like I've been burnt
- 12:22Speaker 1: so many times by Calvt Lewin away from home. You
- 12:26Speaker 1: have to play. It's a way.
- 12:28Speaker 2: Let's we're going to get the blame when this goes wrong.
- 12:35Speaker 1: Against all Right, most Salah Moving on another player that
- 12:37Speaker 1: I wish I could have most Salah, Do.
- 12:39Speaker 3: You though, because I'm kind of regretting a little bit.
- 12:43Speaker 1: Yeah, because you don't have soccer.
- 12:44Speaker 3: Yeah, because again I'm fine.
- 12:46Speaker 1: Not having my Saloh. I'd love to have him, but
- 12:49Speaker 1: I'm okay with my team at the moment. Sam needs
- 12:50Speaker 1: to stop giving me that look because it makes me
- 12:52Speaker 1: feel it looks as if to go one of the
- 12:56Speaker 1: things I'm happy that I've gone with soccer over Salah
- 12:58Speaker 1: I would love to have. I agree that that was
- 13:01Speaker 1: a look of what stupid th key. No, not at all.
- 13:04Speaker 2: I totally agree with that. Like I think, I think
- 13:07Speaker 2: you hold salary if you have him, Yeah, yeah, agreed,
- 13:10Speaker 2: But if you.
- 13:12Speaker 1: Need that money for Harlan, I think you so.
- 13:18Speaker 4: I think it's the eternal discussion about Salahaka or Parma again.
- 13:23Speaker 3: I think he's blanked two seven already.
- 13:25Speaker 4: They blame two of his last four games, and it's
- 13:28Speaker 4: not so much to blanket. I can do with everybody blanks.
- 13:30Speaker 4: Nobody will return every single game for the whole season
- 13:32Speaker 4: and thirty eight games, whatever you want. It's the chance
- 13:35Speaker 4: that he missed against Palace and against Wolves Wolves, especially
- 13:37Speaker 4: on that Limina back pass where I think exactly.
- 13:41Speaker 3: Even on his rifle. I do not care.
- 13:44Speaker 4: These they are they are easy chances for him, and
- 13:47Speaker 4: I was just very surprised and very disappointed in a
- 13:49Speaker 4: way that he didn't put them away, to the point
- 13:52Speaker 4: that I'm thinking, like, Okay, I know he's done really
- 13:54Speaker 4: well so far, but I just don't know the Chrystal
- 13:58Speaker 4: Palace game. It felt like it was a bit more
- 14:00Speaker 4: a passenger than anything else. And yeah, I'm duanting a
- 14:04Speaker 4: little bit of the most salad pick right now and
- 14:06Speaker 4: considering how much she is. If I sell him for
- 14:08Speaker 4: Saka al Pama, for example, you still, as we said
- 14:11Speaker 4: last week, there's an extra two million in your bank then.
- 14:13Speaker 3: To reinvest somewhere else. There's a lot of money. I
- 14:17Speaker 3: don't know.
- 14:17Speaker 4: They've got Chelsea home, okay, but Chelsea are so unpredictable.
- 14:21Speaker 4: They're going to attack, and they're gonna attack and they're
- 14:22Speaker 4: going to So it might not be a bad game
- 14:25Speaker 4: for him because of the word Chelsea are going to play.
- 14:27Speaker 3: But then Arsenal Brighton Villa the.
- 14:29Speaker 2: Upgrade on se meno. Though, if you sell Salah for soccer.
- 14:32Speaker 1: Can I also throw another name into this? Yeah, that's
- 14:34Speaker 1: a really good point. Actually, can I throw another name
- 14:36Speaker 1: into this? You put sala on this list? Sam? What
- 14:38Speaker 1: about Diaz? Yeah, this is what I mean in terms
- 14:43Speaker 1: of what I might not sell some meno because I
- 14:45Speaker 1: might sell Dias. The thing with Dias is that I
- 14:49Speaker 1: never wanted Dias on my world card. As we know.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Let's not go back to my world card.
- 14:53Speaker 3: Do you want you want.
- 14:55Speaker 1: I was never sold on him, and now three weeks
- 14:58Speaker 1: ago he was the best non no and now he's not.
- 15:02Speaker 2: Yeah, but I think the thing is with him at
- 15:04Speaker 2: the moment is that Gagpo is actually playing really well,
- 15:06Speaker 2: like Slot has a viable alternative to das in Gagpo.
- 15:11Speaker 2: For Jotter, Darwin is not playing very well, so he
- 15:14Speaker 2: doesn't really have that straight. It doesn't the team is
- 15:19Speaker 2: slightly weakened when Jotter isn't there, whereas when DS isn't there.
- 15:22Speaker 2: I don't think it is really so you've always got
- 15:24Speaker 2: that potential for a little bit of rotation. I think
- 15:28Speaker 2: right now with the fixtures that they are for Liverpool
- 15:30Speaker 2: obviously it's Chelsea and asked him in the next two weeks,
- 15:33Speaker 2: I would lose Dias. I think Salah I would also hold,
- 15:37Speaker 2: unless you'd hold him unless you need the money. But
- 15:40Speaker 2: I think i'd sell.
- 15:42Speaker 4: And yeah, and let's not forget. I know we say
- 15:44Speaker 4: every international break, but still band has been lifted.
- 15:51Speaker 1: I think that's also goes back to my men thing again.
- 15:56Speaker 1: I just feel like for me Diaz, I didn't want
- 15:57Speaker 1: him massively on the world card. It worries me not
- 16:00Speaker 1: having a Liverpool attacker with how Liverpool playing though, like
- 16:03Speaker 1: you're in a great position because you've got Jotta, You've
- 16:05Speaker 1: got the best option there at the moment. Yeah, does
- 16:10Speaker 1: that worry you, Joels? If you were to sell my salad,
- 16:11Speaker 1: would you go without a Liverpool attacker?
- 16:14Speaker 4: So, because I was checking the down expression, I thought
- 16:17Speaker 4: it was lifted, but you might not have been lifted.
- 16:19Speaker 3: So yeah, that we might not have traveled to Uruguay.
- 16:20Speaker 4: But anyway, for Dias and even Salad to go to
- 16:23Speaker 4: Egypt and play those games, it's quite tirring.
- 16:25Speaker 3: But sorry, would you become It was a great question.
- 16:29Speaker 1: I'm sure whoever you great, Well, if you sell my salad,
- 16:34Speaker 1: will you be comfortable going without a Liverpool attacker?
- 16:37Speaker 3: No, that's the thing.
- 16:39Speaker 4: Well, no, I think I could be okay because their
- 16:41Speaker 4: fixtures are really tough, although I think they could score
- 16:43Speaker 4: against anybody. But yeah, you need to find a way
- 16:47Speaker 4: of getting in or getting back put in or even
- 16:50Speaker 4: if you just get trent. I think is it now
- 16:51Speaker 4: we could try and cover summer and offensively. I think
- 16:54Speaker 4: that's good. So I could for now for the next
- 16:57Speaker 4: five minutes, because let's not forget after child and last
- 17:00Speaker 4: one we say they've got Brighton Villa, then I think
- 17:02Speaker 4: South Down and then City. So the next really six
- 17:05Speaker 4: games are incredibly tough for them.
- 17:08Speaker 3: So yeah, it's a really interesting debate. I think, Yeah,
- 17:12Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 17:13Speaker 4: I think he's always better to have a Liverpool attacker.
- 17:15Speaker 4: I just think that for how much Mota costs right
- 17:18Speaker 4: now and the form day seems to have a little
- 17:19Speaker 4: bit patchy, let's play that way. I'm not so sure
- 17:22Speaker 4: how much of him must have.
- 17:23Speaker 1: It is still eight point nine points start though this season.
- 17:26Speaker 4: Yeah, because he had a seventeen point hole and ten
- 17:28Speaker 4: point hole as well before he blames twice in the
- 17:30Speaker 4: last four games.
- 17:30Speaker 3: Again, I was having this.
- 17:31Speaker 1: About with something the other day. Do you prefer getting
- 17:34Speaker 1: a big seventeen point hole or do you just fell
- 17:35Speaker 1: them to nicely tick over.
- 17:37Speaker 2: I prefer to be like Harry Kane, just gradually every week,
- 17:40Speaker 2: just over the points and be consistent.
- 17:44Speaker 1: That's what your teams because I don't get thirty points
- 17:46Speaker 1: when they get nothing, and then you get a big
- 17:47Speaker 1: point when they all get But the other the.
- 17:49Speaker 2: Other problem is that if you get the whole, then
- 17:50Speaker 2: what you end up is they then don't return for
- 17:53Speaker 2: a couple of weeks. Then you sell them and then
- 17:55Speaker 2: you miss the next hole, whereas if they're.
- 17:56Speaker 1: Consistently return where you're at. Yeah, yeah, okay, Pedro Poro, yay.
- 18:02Speaker 3: Sell every day. Man just discount if he wants to.
- 18:05Speaker 3: Like the pound shop.
- 18:08Speaker 1: Told me to bring in on my wildcop. When did
- 18:12Speaker 1: I say that? You suggested that it was because you
- 18:15Speaker 1: were talking about Spurs fixtures. But I think if you
- 18:17Speaker 1: want a Spurs defender now you'd go Van Den or
- 18:19Speaker 1: someone would Oh yes.
- 18:19Speaker 2: You would go.
- 18:20Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean I've put to be fair. I reacted just.
- 18:24Speaker 2: For fun, but I've put so as well.
- 18:27Speaker 1: You know it's bad. Do you know you really love
- 18:29Speaker 1: to sell him?
- 18:29Speaker 2: I've got him. Yeah, he's got three returns so far,
- 18:33Speaker 2: too clean sheets in a goal. He's being out scored
- 18:35Speaker 2: by Romero in the Spurs defense. Currently, May has got
- 18:38Speaker 2: twenty eight points. He's got twenty six, but that's only
- 18:40Speaker 2: one more point than vander Ven's got this season and
- 18:42Speaker 2: Vann's a million cheaper, with just under a million cheap
- 18:45Speaker 2: because Mickey's had a price wise. But yeah, I mean,
- 18:48Speaker 2: I think the fixtures that we have coming up in
- 18:51Speaker 2: the next four it's west Ham Palace Villa and then
- 18:54Speaker 2: Ipswich there should be some attacking returns against those defenses.
- 18:58Speaker 2: Those defenses have not in solid which you do get
- 19:02Speaker 2: a greater sense of attacking threat from Poro than you
- 19:05Speaker 2: will from vander Ven. However, the one thing I will
- 19:08Speaker 2: say about Porro is since Koudotevski has moved into that
- 19:12Speaker 2: kind of eight role, the midfield is quite busy with
- 19:16Speaker 2: with Coulio and Madison, and Poro tends to check his
- 19:19Speaker 2: role runs a little bit more. He's not going quite
- 19:21Speaker 2: as much as he was before, so he is less
- 19:25Speaker 2: of an attacking threat in the last couple of weeks
- 19:27Speaker 2: than he was maybe in the opening four game weeks
- 19:29Speaker 2: of the season. So I think I am probably going
- 19:35Speaker 2: to sell him. I'm probably bringing Vanda Ven instead save
- 19:39Speaker 2: a millim and.
- 19:40Speaker 4: You're just you don't have him be I would not
- 19:42Speaker 4: trust any of the defenders whatsoever, anybody.
- 19:50Speaker 3: Fans.
- 19:50Speaker 4: We saw against Brighton that can happen every weekend with
- 19:53Speaker 4: this person.
- 19:59Speaker 1: Okay, moving on, mas Rowie.
- 20:02Speaker 4: Why why are we talking about fixtures? I know, I
- 20:05Speaker 4: know the fiction, and to be fair, I don't know
- 20:06Speaker 4: how where you go to twenty seven.
- 20:08Speaker 1: Points are right, and they've kept three clean sheets I.
- 20:10Speaker 3: Know because they set up to defend.
- 20:12Speaker 4: They can't do that in the ficture list that we
- 20:14Speaker 4: have coming, which are.
- 20:16Speaker 2: Benford, west Ham, Chelsea, Le'stips, whichever ton.
- 20:18Speaker 4: But again, unless the change managers, which I hope is
- 20:21Speaker 4: happening soon.
- 20:24Speaker 3: Sorry you're on.
- 20:25Speaker 4: I'm just saying, unless the change manager and bring you
- 20:27Speaker 4: a more competentant one, I'm not sure I would go
- 20:30Speaker 4: nowhere near a United player.
- 20:32Speaker 1: I struggle to bring in a Manchester United player at
- 20:35Speaker 1: the moment. But Sam, you've written this name on this list.
- 20:38Speaker 3: Yeah, it's your name. Go on your case, make your case,
- 20:41Speaker 3: make your case gone.
- 20:42Speaker 1: No, No, if Sam sestiment, if you can normally back
- 20:45Speaker 1: it up.
- 20:45Speaker 3: Yeah, John Evans.
- 20:47Speaker 1: No, I don't fancy him. No.
- 20:49Speaker 2: Twenty seven points so far.
- 20:50Speaker 1: Three clean sheets.
- 20:51Speaker 2: Like Actually the defensively they're all right. I mean they've
- 20:54Speaker 2: had some terrible.
- 20:55Speaker 1: If you're going to look at a Manchester United player,
- 20:56Speaker 1: it would probably has.
- 20:57Speaker 2: To be defender. And they're cheap. That's the other thing
- 20:59Speaker 2: to can to do is that they're not expensive. You
- 21:01Speaker 2: can bench them in the weeks that you don't want
- 21:03Speaker 2: to play them. But actually in the fixtures that they
- 21:04Speaker 2: have coming up, I would expect there to be at
- 21:06Speaker 2: least a couple of clean sheets in that period of
- 21:07Speaker 2: time because they're not very good in attack, but they
- 21:09Speaker 2: are okay in defense if they sat up that way.
- 21:14Speaker 2: The co Nana is currently the highest scoring goalie.
- 21:17Speaker 3: Again, he's the only one. Really I think I would
- 21:20Speaker 3: look at.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Yes United, I've been thinking about doing a goalie swap
- 21:23Speaker 2: and getting here. Yeah, I agree, but I don't think
- 21:26Speaker 2: it's terrible. Like I think, if you want to get
- 21:28Speaker 2: if you want to go from Manchest United, you have
- 21:30Speaker 2: to go for a defender, and I think of the defenders,
- 21:32Speaker 2: if you want an actual defender, of than a goalie
- 21:35Speaker 2: is the best one.
- 21:37Speaker 3: I would say.
- 21:39Speaker 4: I think Branford, west Ham and Chelsey could easily score
- 21:41Speaker 4: against this United team. That again, we'll have to attack
- 21:43Speaker 4: in those games.
- 21:44Speaker 1: That's true.
- 21:44Speaker 3: After that it's less than Ipswich.
- 21:47Speaker 4: Then I think then maybe makes more sense to bring
- 21:49Speaker 4: it as or even dialogue as being the only two
- 21:54Speaker 4: with a narner three that are guaranteed to start, because
- 21:57Speaker 4: as we've seen, Maguire Evans somehow to find a place
- 22:00Speaker 4: in that team, which.
- 22:01Speaker 3: Again was brilliant. Yeah, but he's just did my age,
- 22:05Speaker 3: so come on.
- 22:07Speaker 2: That's quite.
- 22:07Speaker 3: Let's behave here. It's not that old my brother no
- 22:10Speaker 3: long ago.
- 22:10Speaker 4: You know.
- 22:10Speaker 2: Yeah, but Johnny Evans is the same major not far
- 22:13Speaker 2: forty thirty.
- 22:14Speaker 1: Six we digressed osaka how you would love to have
- 22:19Speaker 1: him Joel's But.
- 22:20Speaker 4: I love him so much that English people underrate agree,
- 22:24Speaker 4: agree massively.
- 22:25Speaker 3: I'm not just saying you too.
- 22:26Speaker 1: But I don't think he didn't want completely if he
- 22:29Speaker 1: was underappreciated, because he's This is again not really a
- 22:33Speaker 1: conversations this podcast. We take for granted how consistent he
- 22:36Speaker 1: has been from the moment he got into the Arsenal
- 22:38Speaker 1: first team and with England as well. Neither of those
- 22:41Speaker 1: two teams function as well withouto Soaker in. And because
- 22:44Speaker 1: it goes back to like the explosive points, he doesn't
- 22:46Speaker 1: get the explosive point souls. But he also is consistent.
- 22:49Speaker 1: He literally returns pretty much everyone.
- 22:51Speaker 4: His numbers, even yeah, not even not just Gods on
- 22:54Speaker 4: the Cyst, but the other starts.
- 22:56Speaker 3: In terms of big chances created everything. It's just so
- 22:59Speaker 3: so good. This isn't again after just seven games, just
- 23:02Speaker 3: kind of pull you.
- 23:03Speaker 1: Up on it. Though you don't have him in your team,
- 23:05Speaker 1: you know, I know, because because.
- 23:10Speaker 3: The other day.
- 23:10Speaker 1: I think Sack is more my mate.
- 23:11Speaker 3: Than your mate. Yeah.
- 23:18Speaker 4: I think if you can, if you have him, keep
- 23:20Speaker 4: him for short obviously, if you don't have him.
- 23:23Speaker 3: Try to bring him in all costs.
- 23:26Speaker 1: M hmmm.
- 23:27Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:27Speaker 2: Fixtures are mixed, but he's fixture proof for me.
- 23:31Speaker 1: I agree.
- 23:31Speaker 2: I think I think he is fixture proof. And I
- 23:33Speaker 2: think you know, he's averaging seven point seven points per
- 23:36Speaker 2: start at the moment, and all right, this is the
- 23:39Speaker 2: first rule that we've seen this season. But my goodness,
- 23:41Speaker 2: we should have had the holes before. The underlying dumb
- 23:43Speaker 2: numbers are ridiculous.
- 23:44Speaker 1: So but also you say that there's only been one
- 23:46Speaker 1: week where he's blanked. There's only been one week with actually.
- 23:52Speaker 3: We just an assist.
- 23:53Speaker 1: Yeah, but even that, it's like justice. This goes back
- 23:55Speaker 1: to what I said, twelve, six, six, seven, then four, yeah,
- 24:00Speaker 1: then three, then sixteen.
- 24:02Speaker 2: But in those weeks when he's got seven, our expectations
- 24:05Speaker 2: of him because of the underlying numbers.
- 24:08Speaker 1: And because he and we've also been watching co Col Parmer.
- 24:12Speaker 2: Yeah, And I think that's the thing, isn't it. We
- 24:13Speaker 2: all have this temptation to jump like Col Palmer goes off,
- 24:18Speaker 2: so we all go, oh, we should.
- 24:20Speaker 1: Have already this season gone soaker, Sala soaker.
- 24:22Speaker 2: Yeah, of course, and it's understandable, right, And I think
- 24:25Speaker 2: with soccer, a lot of people looked at him and went, well,
- 24:27Speaker 2: he hasn't hit the highs yet, But you only have
- 24:30Speaker 2: to take a look at the underlying data that's there
- 24:32Speaker 2: to know that they it was coming. The hale that
- 24:34Speaker 2: he got this week was coming, and it doesn't look
- 24:37Speaker 2: like it will be a one off because the underlying
- 24:39Speaker 2: numbers have sat consistent. Have you got some of the
- 24:42Speaker 2: underline numbers there and putting on the spot, you are
- 24:44Speaker 2: putting me on the spot. But like his attacking returns,
- 24:46Speaker 2: I mean you had eight din' he e eight chances
- 24:49Speaker 2: created last week? Like it was just I think when
- 24:52Speaker 2: you look at him in comparison to the other premium assets.
- 24:56Speaker 1: If you're comparing him to Sala at the moment, he's
- 24:58Speaker 1: much Is he much ahead of them in terms of
- 25:00Speaker 1: value for money? So yeah, yeah.
- 25:03Speaker 4: And Sasorry Psyca is the only Promen League player this
- 25:06Speaker 4: season so far with more than at least ten chances created,
- 25:10Speaker 4: twenty seven big chances created, twelve shots, twenty five dribbles completed,
- 25:13Speaker 4: fourteen tackles, twelve plus the seven assists and the two goals,
- 25:17Speaker 4: So nobody has hit those kind of numbers in chances
- 25:20Speaker 4: created big chances, created shots and dribbles completed together like
- 25:24Speaker 4: together as a whole. So it's just it's having a
- 25:27Speaker 4: monstrous start of this season. I know it's only the
- 25:28Speaker 4: start and we said there's some difficult games coming up
- 25:31Speaker 4: because they will have Liverpool, they would have Chelsea, and
- 25:33Speaker 4: they will have Newcastle. But yeah, considering that they played
- 25:37Speaker 4: the Villa Aware Spurs, Aware City and yet he's put
- 25:40Speaker 4: up those numbers, I think he's really really impressive.
- 25:42Speaker 1: Because have is obviously pulled out of international duty. Yeah,
- 25:45Speaker 1: I don't know how serious that is. I guess we're waiting. Yeah,
- 25:48Speaker 1: if Haves is fit, just have as that's what you've
- 25:50Speaker 1: tried to dos. Points and extent.
- 25:53Speaker 4: Yeah, I think it's still okay because Harves has done really,
- 25:57Speaker 4: really well. I just think again that on mid to
- 26:02Speaker 4: long term this season, Sakka is more likely to be
- 26:05Speaker 4: very consistent and have those like eight points ten points
- 26:07Speaker 4: every week, maybe more than a Harvards. That it's been
- 26:12Speaker 4: in great for him so far and has been returning regularly,
- 26:14Speaker 4: but I'm not sure how long this will last that
- 26:16Speaker 4: with soccer, because we've seen in the last three seasons
- 26:19Speaker 4: you just know exactly what you're getting with him.
- 26:21Speaker 1: Okay, so we all want soccer. We're saying, buy him
- 26:24Speaker 1: if you can definitely keep him, don't sell him, and
- 26:28Speaker 1: if you just just sit kind a cipher Arsenal play,
- 26:31Speaker 1: even if you support them. Might be a little bit
- 26:32Speaker 1: more of a debate around the Arsenal defense though, because
- 26:36Speaker 1: just two weeks ago on my wild card, everyone was
- 26:38Speaker 1: telling me to double up. Ultimately, in the end of
- 26:39Speaker 1: the reason I didn't was because of the Rayer confusion
- 26:42Speaker 1: around his injury, and I've just got Gabrielle and I'm
- 26:45Speaker 1: actually quite glad now I didn't double up. How are
- 26:48Speaker 1: we feeling about the Arsenal defense, Jewels, I.
- 26:51Speaker 4: Would go for one for sure, whoever you want, even
- 26:53Speaker 4: a timber when he's Fakala Furi Raya, Gabrielle's the best option.
- 26:58Speaker 4: I still think it's Gabrielle. For the set pieces threat
- 27:01Speaker 4: that we mentioned, He's the target. He's the one who's
- 27:03Speaker 4: going to score more than anybody else. The others are
- 27:05Speaker 4: there to make him score. By the way, so although
- 27:08Speaker 4: Ala Fiori comes, is the more of all those five four,
- 27:11Speaker 4: especially offil players, the one who will come in midfield
- 27:14Speaker 4: the most, who maybe find himself in positions to score
- 27:16Speaker 4: from outside of the box like we saw against Manster City,
- 27:20Speaker 4: which Saliva, Gabrielle and Timber will never do far more rarely.
- 27:24Speaker 4: But one for sure, I've never been a big fan
- 27:27Speaker 4: of doubling up defense anyway, because again, if you play
- 27:30Speaker 4: back three with your goalkeeper as four players, if you
- 27:32Speaker 4: have two of the same thing, then they can see
- 27:33Speaker 4: this is it to do to a gun So I
- 27:36Speaker 4: was never a big fan, but I can understand why
- 27:37Speaker 4: because they look so good. Although there's a goal against Southampton,
- 27:43Speaker 4: there's against two goals against Leicester, and if you look
- 27:45Speaker 4: at the Liverpool defense, although Liverpool didn't play as many
- 27:49Speaker 4: tough games as Arsenal so far, you would say that
- 27:52Speaker 4: it was better to invest in the Liverpool defense connective
- 27:54Speaker 4: on Dyke, Robertson, Slash, Simikas and Trent, and then it
- 27:58Speaker 4: was maybe to the Arsenal defenders because they they got
- 28:00Speaker 4: farm any more clean sheets.
- 28:02Speaker 2: So yeah, I find this one difficult because the thing
- 28:07Speaker 2: with one Arsenal defender is that everyone's got one Arsenal defender,
- 28:11Speaker 2: So you have one Arsenal defender, it's basically like having
- 28:15Speaker 2: no Arsenal defenders because everybody's going to get the benefit
- 28:17Speaker 2: of those points unless you've got Gabrielle who goes on.
- 28:19Speaker 1: A mad thing.
- 28:21Speaker 2: That's why he stands out to me, That's why he
- 28:23Speaker 2: stands out. Whereas we saw last season and if you
- 28:26Speaker 2: remember back to back end the last season, part of
- 28:28Speaker 2: my issue where I kept losing rank to Ian every
- 28:31Speaker 2: week is because Ian had two and they kept caping
- 28:34Speaker 2: clean sheets and I had one, and every week then
- 28:36Speaker 2: it was like, well great, Saliba's kept a clean sheet,
- 28:39Speaker 2: but I can't even remember who we had now Raya,
- 28:40Speaker 2: I think Rare and Gabrielle were Rare and Saliba and
- 28:43Speaker 2: it was just like every week I'd lose some traction. Now,
- 28:47Speaker 2: I think with the fixtures the way that they are,
- 28:50Speaker 2: Bournemouth next and Notttingam Forests potentially look clean sheetable, but
- 28:54Speaker 2: those middle three, the Liverpool, Newcastle, Chelsea, I wouldn't necessarily expect,
- 28:58Speaker 2: so I think you could potentially lose one for now.
- 29:00Speaker 2: But when I wildcard, I'll still double up on the
- 29:03Speaker 2: Arsenal defense because I do think they are the elite.
- 29:07Speaker 3: They're the elite. They are the defense in the league.
- 29:10Speaker 2: So I think after this little run that they've got,
- 29:13Speaker 2: you could you should be looking for two.
- 29:14Speaker 1: But I'll just have one for now. Okay, So if
- 29:17Speaker 1: people have to were you just selling one?
- 29:19Speaker 2: I think I would, yeah, for the next couple of weeks,
- 29:21Speaker 2: maybe not for Burnemouth, and might wait and then sell
- 29:24Speaker 2: for game week nine, nine, ten eleven and then look
- 29:27Speaker 2: to reinvest again.
- 29:28Speaker 1: Then okay, have got to ask on that list. Okay, Fleck,
- 29:33Speaker 1: why did I bring him in my world card?
- 29:36Speaker 3: Because you listen to some maybe.
- 29:39Speaker 1: Yeah, they're just not keeping clean cheese. No, but then
- 29:41Speaker 1: I don't know where. I don't like making goalkeeper transfers.
- 29:44Speaker 1: I'm not going to be making a goalkeeper transfer. That's
- 29:46Speaker 1: my issue. So I'm holding but for no other reason
- 29:49Speaker 1: than that. Really, well, they're really unsexy, aren't they? Goalkeeping transfers?
- 29:53Speaker 1: But they are They're not like the exciting picture you
- 29:55Speaker 1: want to make an FPR. So you stick with the
- 29:57Speaker 1: goalie that you have, unless you're wildcarding, I think is
- 29:59Speaker 1: the So if you're like me and we got two
- 30:02Speaker 1: weeks ago and I already regrets it, Yeah, but manway next.
- 30:05Speaker 2: Man United, it's which full and born with Everton Leicester.
- 30:08Speaker 2: You're not going to sell like ahead of that, liked.
- 30:11Speaker 3: Even if you don't fancy him, keep him for that sense.
- 30:14Speaker 1: Yeah, he wouldn't buy him. I wouldn't buy him. No,
- 30:16Speaker 1: who's the best option at the moment.
- 30:18Speaker 3: Goalkeeper was mine for the reasons that everybody knows that
- 30:22Speaker 3: those reasons. It's my brother.
- 30:28Speaker 4: He's not reason I have to be in there otherwise
- 30:31Speaker 4: I'm in trouble. So I like, I like the pick
- 30:34Speaker 4: that we mentioned, And I know Brandford scoring and just
- 30:40Speaker 4: just scored five last weekend. And they have a few
- 30:42Speaker 4: players going on international duty, but not that many so
- 30:45Speaker 4: they would they should be fresh and everything. But yeah,
- 30:48Speaker 4: I like right now to be fair.
- 30:50Speaker 1: From slighting the Manchester United suggestions.
- 30:53Speaker 3: No, no, I've said before apart from Nana, I'm.
- 31:01Speaker 2: Not sure Pickford's got nice pictures?
- 31:04Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 31:05Speaker 1: Are you influenced by some penalty saved last week? He's
- 31:08Speaker 1: got that in his locker though, he's got that in
- 31:10Speaker 1: his locker. I don't know. Look, I haven't you said
- 31:13Speaker 1: you're going to make didn't you say you're so?
- 31:14Speaker 2: I can't afford Pickford because he's four point eight. I've
- 31:18Speaker 2: got four point seven, so I can't have Pickford quite
- 31:22Speaker 2: like and this is absolutely rogue, but I quite like
- 31:26Speaker 2: Sam Johnson at Wolves, but not this week. He he's
- 31:28Speaker 2: got man City hold on a second, but after that
- 31:32Speaker 2: the run is quite nice and if you're just so,
- 31:35Speaker 2: and the reason I quite like him is that.
- 31:36Speaker 1: You're wearing Wolves colors. Actually I am.
- 31:38Speaker 2: I have dressed fully Wolves today because I'm planning to
- 31:42Speaker 2: wild card in twelve. I actually just need a goalie
- 31:45Speaker 2: for like a couple of weeks, right, so I might
- 31:48Speaker 2: stick with HNDO for this week. He's got Nottingham Forest,
- 31:51Speaker 2: but then after that Wolves have got Brighton Crystal Palace, Southampton,
- 31:56Speaker 2: like there should be some clean sheets there, so I
- 31:59Speaker 2: might just go for Little Punt or one of them,
- 32:00Speaker 2: and then moved to a certain more premium goalie.
- 32:03Speaker 4: Tell you who's good ideas Harmondsen Leicester on the back
- 32:07Speaker 4: of the clean sheets, on the back of the great
- 32:09Speaker 4: Game morning, making it like an I know you're considered
- 32:14Speaker 4: in the end, but he was amazing point sir Sampton Forest,
- 32:17Speaker 4: if switch coming up and then okay Monster, but the
- 32:21Speaker 4: next three if you're looking for a cheap good keeper,
- 32:23Speaker 4: Amon Sen could be really good.
- 32:25Speaker 1: Okay, so we've been through pretty much every position and
- 32:28Speaker 1: every popular player. It feels like they're but as I said,
- 32:31Speaker 1: part of the reason that we're kind of doing that
- 32:33Speaker 1: at the moment is there's quite a few interesting fixture swings.
- 32:35Speaker 1: So whilst we do have a break from FPL deadlines
- 32:38Speaker 1: during this second international break, potentially people will be wildcarding,
- 32:41Speaker 1: or they'll be at least booking in as Sam is
- 32:43Speaker 1: doing their worldcard, and one thing they will look at
- 32:46Speaker 1: is these fixture swings. Just so you know, by the way,
- 32:48Speaker 1: we're recording this on Wednesday, it's half past eleven as
- 32:51Speaker 1: I speak, and there are actually only seventy two thousand
- 32:53Speaker 1: wild cards active at the moment, but we know that
- 32:55Speaker 1: these breaks are really popular times for people to play them,
- 32:57Speaker 1: so to expect that to go up. Let's take look
- 33:00Speaker 1: at the fixture ticker. Then Sam talk us through which
- 33:02Speaker 1: fixtures or which teams sorry have the fixtures to target?
- 33:06Speaker 2: Well, I think it depends on what you want to do.
- 33:09Speaker 2: So if you're wildcarding, then I think you have to
- 33:11Speaker 2: look really long term, basically look till Christmas and look
- 33:15Speaker 2: at the nice fixtures, knowing then you're just going to
- 33:16Speaker 2: make little tweaks to your team as you go through.
- 33:19Speaker 2: If you're not wildcarding yet or you've but you're planning
- 33:25Speaker 2: too soon, then I think you can just look for
- 33:27Speaker 2: shorter sections of time. So if we're looking at the
- 33:31Speaker 2: next five then Everton, Manster United, Leicester, man City, Brentford, Ipswich,
- 33:35Speaker 2: Fulham look like the teams that you would want to target.
- 33:38Speaker 2: If you're going slightly longer term with your picks, then
- 33:43Speaker 2: you've got teams like wolf Spurs come into that equation
- 33:47Speaker 2: as well. You've got Arsenal coming back into the equation
- 33:50Speaker 2: at that point because they get through that little period
- 33:52Speaker 2: of red and Brentford are in there as well as
- 33:55Speaker 2: our Newcastle. So I think it depends on how your
- 33:58Speaker 2: strategy is in terms of your chain, which way around
- 34:01Speaker 2: you're looking at it. But there are some teams like
- 34:04Speaker 2: Manchester City, like Manchester United who have nice fixtures, whether
- 34:08Speaker 2: you're doing it in a short term or the long term.
- 34:11Speaker 1: Okay, so if we take a look at the well,
- 34:14Speaker 1: you've kind of answered it there. It's tough, isn't because
- 34:16Speaker 1: when you actually look at the whole fixture ticker we've
- 34:19Speaker 1: got in front of my screen right now, I should
- 34:21Speaker 1: say we've picked out the teams are the best fixtures
- 34:23Speaker 1: that you've mentioned there, and then the fixture ticker with
- 34:25Speaker 1: like further down as well. So it can get quite
- 34:28Speaker 1: confusing when you look at it. How much do you
- 34:30Speaker 1: look at the fixture swings and also form, because that's
- 34:34Speaker 1: the problem I struggle with when you're picking out teams
- 34:36Speaker 1: like Everson, Manchester United, Leicester, I struggle to pick players
- 34:40Speaker 1: from there because we haven't seen the form or be it.
- 34:42Speaker 1: Leicester's formers may even better than some of their results.
- 34:45Speaker 1: I mean, I think there are players within those teams. Yeah,
- 34:47Speaker 1: so the teams themselves might not be in the best form,
- 34:49Speaker 1: but like Dwight McNeil, for example, has been in really
- 34:51Speaker 1: good form, so you can kind of go there. I
- 34:54Speaker 1: think some of it is punty, like some of it
- 34:57Speaker 1: you have to kind of go I'll take a bit
- 34:59Speaker 1: of a chance on that one because the underlying numbers
- 35:01Speaker 1: for that particular player are there even if the team haven't.
- 35:04Speaker 1: But it's also about getting ahead of the curve a
- 35:05Speaker 1: little bit as well, isn't it. You kind of have
- 35:07Speaker 1: to take it, like you said, be a bit punty
- 35:09Speaker 1: and think that Wolves feel like a really bad example
- 35:11Speaker 1: they're bottom of the league. They've got one point this season,
- 35:13Speaker 1: they're shipping five goals, where at Brentford, for example, they've
- 35:16Speaker 1: got Manchester City next. But then you do look at
- 35:19Speaker 1: their fixtures and they've had a tough start. Then it
- 35:21Speaker 1: is Brighton, Crystal Palace, Southampton, Fulham Burnemuth. If you're ever
- 35:24Speaker 1: going to invest in them, yeah, this is the time,
- 35:27Speaker 1: I guess.
- 35:27Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 35:28Speaker 1: Yeah, like can scorer. Stran Larson is a really nice
- 35:35Speaker 1: my partner. Loyal listeners to this podcast might remember Max
- 35:38Speaker 1: had a really good year a couple of years ago. Yeah,
- 35:40Speaker 1: he didn't have clearly because last year he was finished
- 35:43Speaker 1: like the millions. This year he's he doesn't. I don't
- 35:45Speaker 1: know if he listens to this pot. I don't think
- 35:47Speaker 1: he does. Hears enough from me at home, but he's
- 35:49Speaker 1: absolutely wiping the floor with me in head to head.
- 35:51Speaker 1: I'm not we're around the same points total, but he
- 35:54Speaker 1: just beats me in a head's head. So he's like
- 35:56Speaker 1: twenty whatever it is up and he keeps pointing out.
- 35:59Speaker 1: But he's had Strand Larsen from the beginning and actually
- 36:02Speaker 1: I look at that, I've got him in my draft
- 36:04Speaker 1: team as well. Quite enviously in a way because he's
- 36:06Speaker 1: cheap and if Wolves are going to score, he's been involved.
- 36:09Speaker 1: So it's players like that maybe, yeah, for sure.
- 36:12Speaker 2: I mean like, ain't Nori and can you both have
- 36:15Speaker 2: really good underlying numbers.
- 36:16Speaker 3: Both of them sticks from Wolves. Yeah from last night.
- 36:20Speaker 1: Yeah, like Kenya.
- 36:21Speaker 2: He's took for cross as a Wolf so far with
- 36:23Speaker 2: thirty six his top chances created with ten of which
- 36:25Speaker 2: three have been big chances. He's currently averaging four point
- 36:28Speaker 2: eight points per match.
- 36:29Speaker 3: Now.
- 36:29Speaker 1: Because Wolves are playing.
- 36:30Speaker 2: Badly and haven't really done anything to set the world
- 36:34Speaker 2: on fire in terms of Premier League gap, people just go,
- 36:36Speaker 2: I'm not looking, But actually Kenya's numbers are are there
- 36:39Speaker 2: same with eight Norri, so no clean cheat yet, but
- 36:42Speaker 2: he's created nine chances. He's third across the Wolves team
- 36:44Speaker 2: for goal attempts with also nine, and he's got four
- 36:47Speaker 2: attackingds already, attacking returns already.
- 36:49Speaker 1: This is the other one thing I would say is
- 36:51Speaker 1: they were poor against Brentford Wolves Gary, but before then
- 36:55Speaker 1: they've obviously not got the results and they've not been
- 36:57Speaker 1: getting what they want to get from games, but they
- 36:59Speaker 1: haven't been disaster.
- 37:01Speaker 4: Have schedules them against Arsenal in the first game of
- 37:05Speaker 4: the season and they were good, and Indian Arsenal was
- 37:09Speaker 4: just better overall.
- 37:10Speaker 3: But yeah, I thought they were good.
- 37:11Speaker 4: I never expected them after seven games to be bottom
- 37:13Speaker 4: of the table, and they will. They would climb up
- 37:15Speaker 4: the table very soon now.
- 37:16Speaker 2: But you forget that Man City game and the games
- 37:19Speaker 2: from nine onwards. These are the games that you would
- 37:21Speaker 2: expect Wolves to start getting points on the board. And
- 37:25Speaker 2: so if you can pick one, I'm not saying go
- 37:28Speaker 2: all in on Wolves and buy three, but pick.
- 37:30Speaker 1: One if you are wild guarding now and you're bringing
- 37:32Speaker 1: in a Wolves player with Man City next. Remember a
- 37:35Speaker 1: World card is not just for one week, just bringing it.
- 37:39Speaker 3: Nor Parish one. And by the way, which makes him better?
- 37:45Speaker 1: What other things would you target at the moment? Jeels
- 37:49Speaker 1: so much?
- 37:49Speaker 4: The United we said, we mentioned I think there's a
- 37:52Speaker 4: there's some decent fixtures coming up, but unless they change managers,
- 37:58Speaker 4: a really.
- 37:59Speaker 3: Good one with more hair, I I can't. I just
- 38:02Speaker 3: cannot go there.
- 38:03Speaker 4: So I think much the City is the obvious one,
- 38:07Speaker 4: but it's more who you go with Halan or do
- 38:09Speaker 4: you double up? But then who's the second one that
- 38:11Speaker 4: you go for? This is a being?
- 38:13Speaker 1: Is it worth getting ahead on Fidon.
- 38:15Speaker 4: I know a few people are trying to Yeah, I
- 38:18Speaker 4: would say so, but again it's very expensive. It's like
- 38:20Speaker 4: the ten million or slightly less than ten Yeah, there's
- 38:25Speaker 4: a lot of money on that same conversation then Salah
- 38:29Speaker 4: Saka and Palma et cetera, et cetera. But there is
- 38:31Speaker 4: there is no doubt that field Foden is going to
- 38:33Speaker 4: be very soon back to his best. You would think
- 38:36Speaker 4: so if he's back to his best in a team
- 38:39Speaker 4: where KDB is still injured, in a team that hasn't
- 38:42Speaker 4: really been that great.
- 38:44Speaker 3: I thought so far.
- 38:45Speaker 4: Or you go for Gundwan and you expect Gundwan at
- 38:48Speaker 4: some point to find the form that he had that
- 38:51Speaker 4: season where he kept scoring and scoring and scoring that
- 38:53Speaker 4: he all helped us a lot.
- 38:56Speaker 3: The thing with God is now with no Rodery.
- 38:58Speaker 4: He can clear a little be deeper as well as
- 39:00Speaker 4: we saw recently. So I'm just yeah, I'm just not
- 39:03Speaker 4: sure why the answer is on who goes as a
- 39:05Speaker 4: city player with Ireland?
- 39:07Speaker 1: What about the defense do you avoid? Because for me
- 39:11Speaker 1: at the moment, I feel sick every time I wait
- 39:13Speaker 1: for a Manchester City team to come out to see
- 39:14Speaker 1: if Ricos is in it, but he is starting. Got
- 39:17Speaker 1: on a sacking return last week.
- 39:19Speaker 2: Yeah, because sometimes he starts him in the middle.
- 39:20Speaker 1: Yeah. And but for four point seven, I think before
- 39:25Speaker 1: last week I was convinced he wasn't going to start
- 39:26Speaker 1: because he started the week before. I was like, I'm
- 39:28Speaker 1: not going to get two starts in a row out
- 39:29Speaker 1: of him. I did. Then he got on a sacking return,
- 39:31Speaker 1: and now I'm like, you're know, not for four point seven. Actually,
- 39:33Speaker 1: if he doesn't start, as long he doesn't come on,
- 39:35Speaker 1: it's okay.
- 39:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 39:36Speaker 2: Yeah, And it's as long as he doesn't come on thing.
- 39:38Speaker 2: That's yeah kind of critical, isn't it. Yeah, it's hard
- 39:43Speaker 2: because I think when he plays him in when he
- 39:45Speaker 2: plays him instead of Walker, he is a really good
- 39:49Speaker 2: attacking threat. When he plays Walker as well and then
- 39:52Speaker 2: moves Ricola Wis into the middle, I think he's less
- 39:54Speaker 2: attractive for us in FPL because it tends to be
- 39:56Speaker 2: vardy Old down the side that then goes back to
- 39:59Speaker 2: being the ardeal that we saw last season. So it
- 40:02Speaker 2: is pep strategy and how he deploys Rico Lewis does
- 40:06Speaker 2: make a difference to us in FPR and then annoying
- 40:08Speaker 2: thing for us is that we don't really know where
- 40:10Speaker 2: Pep's going to play. Rico Lewis from one week to
- 40:12Speaker 2: the next.
- 40:13Speaker 4: He started every single game apart from the Arsenal one
- 40:15Speaker 4: we said on the bench and one when I have time.
- 40:18Speaker 1: It is historically scarred. Aren't we buy PEP players?
- 40:21Speaker 2: But I think the other the other issue is that
- 40:23Speaker 2: they just don't keep clean sheets And I know we
- 40:25Speaker 2: spoke about this.
- 40:26Speaker 1: We've got attacking return last week.
- 40:27Speaker 2: I'm happy and I think it set at four point seven.
- 40:31Speaker 1: That's why That's why I wouldn't That's why I was
- 40:32Speaker 1: keen to get rid of Guardia again because that's that
- 40:35Speaker 1: little bit more money. Rico Lewis, I'm happy to maybe well,
- 40:39Speaker 1: as you just said that he does start, but every
- 40:42Speaker 1: so often to miss out and not get the same
- 40:46Speaker 1: level of points because.
- 40:47Speaker 4: He's cheap against Newcastle great god as well, and I
- 40:51Speaker 4: wondered watching that game, like, okay, maybe this is this
- 40:53Speaker 4: is the turning point in season where maybe defensively they're shaky,
- 40:58Speaker 4: but at least attack Why Gradual can return goals and
- 41:02Speaker 4: assists like he did at the end of last season
- 41:04Speaker 4: where it was brilliant, But yet since the Newcastle game.
- 41:07Speaker 3: It hasn't really worked out either for him. So I
- 41:09Speaker 3: don't know about.
- 41:10Speaker 1: A quick word on Ipswich as well, So I should
- 41:12Speaker 1: say that looking at the longer term fixureret goes Wolves, Tottenham, Ipswich,
- 41:15Speaker 1: Manchester City, Manchester United. We've spoken about a couple of
- 41:17Speaker 1: the teams. Sam, You've already touched upon Spurs and wanting
- 41:20Speaker 1: to invest there, but Ipswich, the lap is a really
- 41:23Speaker 1: nice option. Still, isn't he for a cheap forward doesn't.
- 41:26Speaker 4: Yeah, no, yeah, I just I just don't know where
- 41:28Speaker 4: he would start if it's to me, like the goals
- 41:29Speaker 4: he scored always been Jammy, you can a bit lucky
- 41:33Speaker 4: because Ala has to save the one against West time
- 41:36Speaker 4: and every single day there's.
- 41:38Speaker 3: Long run shots that.
- 41:40Speaker 4: But I don't know, maybe it's just that good and
- 41:42Speaker 4: he's going to keep scoring quite regularly.
- 41:43Speaker 3: He's not going to score every single game.
- 41:45Speaker 1: But goes back to some conversation, Yeah, but it's.
- 41:48Speaker 3: Same for Jack Clark.
- 41:49Speaker 4: He's the same for you know, players in that kind
- 41:53Speaker 4: of blacket. There's dibbling a south sometimes, for example, who
- 41:56Speaker 4: are so cheap that you take a pen and you
- 41:58Speaker 4: have him on your bench, and then you know that
- 41:59Speaker 4: now again, you can start in.
- 42:00Speaker 3: Some fixtures and they would return potentially.
- 42:04Speaker 1: I love the lap.
- 42:06Speaker 2: Him, No, no, but that's because I've got Watkins at
- 42:12Speaker 2: the moment. So my plan is to sell Watkins, not
- 42:15Speaker 2: not quite.
- 42:16Speaker 1: Stick because we need to move on to teams that
- 42:18Speaker 1: are at the other end of the fixture tickets. Out
- 42:20Speaker 1: and Villa are actually bottom at the moment.
- 42:22Speaker 2: So my plan is to sell Watkins for the lab
- 42:25Speaker 2: Wow because Delap has had eleven attempts on goal so
- 42:28Speaker 2: far this season, that's the most obviously across that ape
- 42:31Speaker 2: to which team. Eight of those have come from inside
- 42:32Speaker 2: the box and five have been classified as big chances,
- 42:34Speaker 2: of which he scored four. His four goals already is
- 42:38Speaker 2: only better by Harlan of the forwards this season, which
- 42:41Speaker 2: is insane given the price difference between the two of them.
- 42:44Speaker 2: It's more than have Its, It's more than Jackson, it's
- 42:47Speaker 2: more than Watkins. So when I'm looking at my team,
- 42:51Speaker 2: and in particular at Olie Watkins, the budget that you
- 42:55Speaker 2: have to invest in him is so huge that it
- 42:57Speaker 2: means that my midfielders. The mid field has always been
- 43:00Speaker 2: quite compromised in my team because I've gone heavy at
- 43:03Speaker 2: the back and heavy up top. I like the Fulham
- 43:07Speaker 2: and Bornmouth games that they've got up next, so I'm
- 43:09Speaker 2: probably going to hold Watkins for the next two. But
- 43:12Speaker 2: then after that it Spurs Liverpool, then Chelsea Brentford, I'll
- 43:16Speaker 2: probably look to sell Watkins. I'm going to hold Rogers
- 43:19Speaker 2: because his price, the price point, and.
- 43:22Speaker 1: With their fixtures where you just hold Rogers, he feels
- 43:26Speaker 1: like he's now just enough.
- 43:27Speaker 2: Really, you don't have high expectations of Rogers at five
- 43:30Speaker 2: point one million like he if he ticks over and
- 43:32Speaker 2: assists you happy right.
- 43:34Speaker 1: Just quickly, because we are running out of time. If
- 43:36Speaker 1: we're going to talk about Villaby and bottom of the
- 43:38Speaker 1: fixture ticker Fulham just above them second from bottom, is
- 43:41Speaker 1: it time to get rid of the likes of Smith,
- 43:43Speaker 1: Row and Robinson, bear in mind the other players.
- 43:45Speaker 4: So their bottom because they've got Arsenal in Liverpool at some.
- 43:48Speaker 1: Point with before then, it's not actually too bad they've
- 43:51Speaker 1: got They've got a few really hard Everton, Brentford, Palace, Wolves,
- 43:56Speaker 1: Scottenham Brighton. So until you get to Tottenham up again
- 44:00Speaker 1: the game week nine and twelve, Yes, okay.
- 44:01Speaker 4: Yeah, I think and Rod Remenez is on fire and
- 44:04Speaker 4: is good to seem like that. We saw Damatory being
- 44:06Speaker 4: excellent against City with no end products, so no points
- 44:09Speaker 4: for us, which is a shame. But but still there's
- 44:12Speaker 4: there's there's still a potentially a great differential day in
- 44:15Speaker 4: a damatory smith Row.
- 44:18Speaker 3: Okay, he started on.
- 44:19Speaker 4: The bench I think for obvious reasons against City in
- 44:22Speaker 4: terms of physicality purely. But he'll be back in the team,
- 44:25Speaker 4: I expect, so yeah, I think I think Robinson the same,
- 44:28Speaker 4: Leno probably the same for now, but then yet eventually
- 44:32Speaker 4: it gets a little bit more difficult.
- 44:33Speaker 1: Some very quick word on Brighton as well, because they
- 44:36Speaker 1: are fourth bottom on the fixture to take a Liverpool
- 44:38Speaker 1: by the way, the team in between those, but we've
- 44:40Speaker 1: discussed them already.
- 44:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I think with Brighton, if you've got
- 44:43Speaker 2: well Back, you would hold him. I don't think that
- 44:46Speaker 2: you know that he's a he's an obvious cell and
- 44:49Speaker 2: I think you know Brighton they are a bit hit
- 44:51Speaker 2: and miss at the minute and their and their fixtures
- 44:53Speaker 2: are a bit hit and miss.
- 44:55Speaker 1: But at their price point, I don't think you.
- 44:57Speaker 2: Get much better options than the well Back in even delapse,
- 45:00Speaker 2: not that much cheaper than him. Now it's zero point
- 45:02Speaker 2: two or something, so you're not going to save hugely.
- 45:05Speaker 2: And I think actually the thing with Brighton is that
- 45:08Speaker 2: from game week twelve the fixtures are so nice. So
- 45:11Speaker 2: if you're wild carding in twelve, I think you're going
- 45:13Speaker 2: to be targeting Brighton. So if you've already got one,
- 45:16Speaker 2: you could probably just bench Well back for a couple
- 45:18Speaker 2: of matches and then have him back in your team
- 45:19Speaker 2: for twelve. Like it doesn't feel like something that you
- 45:22Speaker 2: need to fix.
- 45:24Speaker 1: Okay, well, that's why we'll leave the fixtures wings. In fact,
- 45:26Speaker 1: that's why we leave the podcast in general because producer Jesse,
- 45:29Speaker 1: who by the way, we're all in person, but Jesse
- 45:31Speaker 1: is still signing himself in New Yorker on the world
- 45:34Speaker 1: has been sending me as the pop goes on, he
- 45:36Speaker 1: just WhatsApps me time updates and I got like, I
- 45:39Speaker 1: got forty five and the bomb and I got the
- 45:41Speaker 1: bomb emoji, as if to say, if you don't end
- 45:43Speaker 1: it now, if you don't now, the podcast studio is
- 45:46Speaker 1: going to go explode. So before we do that, before Jesse,
- 45:48Speaker 1: you Colbet go probably hops on the plane try and
- 45:50Speaker 1: stop me talking any longer. Let's wrap up for the podcast.
- 45:54Speaker 1: What about next week, won't we not in person back
