Transcript
- 0:00Hey, today's the last day school. You said that already, but it's
- 0:02just such a fun day. It's like, even though I'm not in school,
- 0:05I still like can feel it in my blood, you know, I
- 0:07can feel in my feel to my veins, the last day of school energy.
- 0:11It is not your locker, yeah, unlike any energy. So you
- 0:15know, hat's off to you. If you're a kid and you're wrapping up
- 0:17school. Maybe you're even a senior, and that's an emotional day too.
- 0:20You remember the last day of your senior year, Yeah, kind of I
- 0:23felt like I was in Dawson's Creek. I mean we were walking out of
- 0:26the school and me and my two best friends were about to leave, and
- 0:30we used to like always our senior year because there's a lot of screw around
- 0:32time. Of course, you unless you're really taking it seriously, but yeah,
- 0:35it's most of the day are screwing around. And so we'd always play
- 0:38this basketball game in the gym, like one of those like three person you
- 0:41know, kind of not lightning but something like that. Yeah, And so
- 0:44we'd always play that in our senior year. And then the last day,
- 0:47we're walking out of the gym, big empty gym, and Glendon. It
- 0:50was poetic. There was a ball sitting there in the on the gym floor
- 0:53and we thought, you guys, one more We played a game and walked
- 0:57down. Did you cry? I remember crying on the lastday school, but
- 1:00if you're like happy tears, because every single one of my girlfriends and our
- 1:03friends pretty much going to different places. Yeah, we knew we had the
- 1:07summer to party, have fun and do whatever, but ultimately that was it,
- 1:11Like we were all going to different states, all of it. So
- 1:15it was really, well, you got the heck out of there. Yeah,
- 1:18went to Denver, went to Denver. One of my girlfriends went to
- 1:21Drake. Another couple of them went up to ndsu Fergus Falls. I mean,
- 1:25just all over the place. But the last day of school, the
- 1:26last week of school really even growing up, like there was all these like
- 1:30traditions you would do and you know, obviously there's not a lot of actual
- 1:33schooling going on, so it's so fun. I mean, what's your favorite
- 1:34like last week of school memory? Nothing that really sticks out. I remember
- 1:38sometimes doing like water slide stuff when I was younger. Now tell me more
- 1:44about water slide stuff, elaborate please, what is it? You're not allowed
- 1:55to share my imagination going wild. Say things yeah, like no water slide
- 2:06stuff just like you do, you know, like just doing a water slide.
- 2:12Was there one in town? No? No, like slip and slide
- 2:15Okay, well that's different slipping slide stuff, slipping slide stuff like I just
- 2:21I don't know. They're just very there's very water activities. I told you
- 2:23about the water gun situation, like water gun fights, and you just squashed
- 2:28that. I mean, it was ridiculous. Imagine like the high school kids
- 2:30driving around and their stupid pontiacs like squirting water guns out of the door or
- 2:35whatever. Oh gosh, we just kind to throw water balloons too. That
- 2:38was the thing. Water balloons, not water guns. Yes, the water
- 2:40balloons. I'm sorry. A bunch of the rascals were driving the bed of
- 2:44somebody's truck and throw water balloons. You're uh getting people really worked up here.
- 2:49A lot of emotions. I'm sure they're giggling over the water stuff here.
- 2:52But I just got a text here from seven eight to eight, last
- 2:54four digits and said, Pike, you're making me cry. I got this
- 3:00girl makes me dry. What made the basketball store was emotional? It really
- 3:06was, I think back. I mean, I'm one of these weirdos that
- 3:07like sort of enjoyed school, you know, I'm not. Yeah, I
- 3:12was excited to move on. But man, it was a good time.
- 3:15It was a good time. It was yeah, the good old traditions.
- 3:17I feel like a lot of people now when you pick up your kids,
- 3:20you go and do like ice cream or something on the last day of school.
- 3:23In elementary school, we would the last day school, the whole class
- 3:27got to walk down Park Avenue and Glenden all the way to the Tasty Freeze,
- 3:30not that one, the one in Glendon. It was like a fish
- 3:35out of water. Yeah, you like having your teacher and your other classmates,
- 3:38but you weren't in the school. It was like a weird, kind
- 3:40of cool feeling water slide stuff. Tell me more about the water dying to
- 3:46know in the morning, Big Nutty eight points seven. I think we can
- 3:49all agree. I mean there's a lot of like cliche date nights, dinners,
- 3:53movies, candles. Yeah, absolutely, but I think we can all
- 3:57agree that there is nothing more romantic than laundry. And this is what generations
- 4:02he is realizing, as these young kids now are finding that you know,
- 4:06it's rather expensive to go out enjoy a nice bougie dinner when you're trying to
- 4:11be fancy. So what they've decided to do instead, and this is becoming
- 4:15more popular, is have laundromat dates to help them save money and fall in
- 4:19love. Are you kidding me? No, that isn't happening. So basically,
- 4:24you know, you consider the cost of a meal, drinks, We're
- 4:27talking tens of hundreds of dollars. Meanwhile, you can spend three dollars on
- 4:31a load with the loved one chat the whole time, and you know,
- 4:39just think about it. There's all sorts of conversation points. You've got,
- 4:42like a load of laundry, you've got about depending on the load that you've
- 4:46got, you know, I usually do like the quick wash. I'm a
- 4:49twenty minute quick wash for a lot of items at home, though exactly so,
- 4:55I don't know what the laundry matt like, what the options are,
- 4:59but that's minimum. Probably a twenty minute conversation is like another hour, you
- 5:04know what I mean, It's a good healthy amount of time to be there
- 5:08getting to know somebody, getting to know their laundry. So are they sitting
- 5:11on the dryers while they're talking, crouching down on the floor. I mean,
- 5:14you see this in like rom coms all the time, right, remember
- 5:16back in the day, like I think Big Daddy, like all those Sandler
- 5:19movies, they were just always at the laundro mat. And it's funny that
- 5:23you say this because you know, we get listings of like all the new
- 5:26businesses that are coming to the area, and there's like four new laundry mat
- 5:30places coming to the area. That is true? Is that? Why is
- 5:33this like a whole new thing? I mean, imagine sitting down but being
- 5:36a cute guy and thinking, that's quite the load you've got. You fold
- 5:43your laundry. I've never seen a young man with so many different pairs of
- 5:46gens. I will tell you, of course, way out of the dating
- 5:50world. If I knew a guy was going to be really good at doing
- 5:55laundry, folding it, putting it away, oh all of that. I
- 5:58mean, really that's a problem though you're not You don't know a whole lot
- 6:00about him until you know if they put their clothes away, you know,
- 6:03you wash on, you know they drying, But when they get home,
- 6:06what are they doing? Well, the very least at the laundromat. They
- 6:11do absolutely take it out of the dryer, so like that's a big step,
- 6:14you know. True. And if you just look over and you saw
- 6:16a man folding a towel the correct way, Heartbike Amana in the Morning,
- 6:24I know, Amanda Stills. Let's see, let's see, hang on,
- 6:28I forgot to say the name of the show, piking Amanda in the Morning.
- 6:33Thanks, It's never too late to correct an error. Travis Kelsey,
- 6:40is he looking to do some more acting roles? The answer is yes,
- 6:43of course, he's hosting this game show. Heck, is he done well?
- 6:46He's he must be in the running for a lot of different things.
- 6:49They just signed up for it. It's called Grow to Skier or something like
- 6:53that. I don't know, some show I had never heard of. Let
- 6:55me look up his profile on the International Movie Database. Please do see what's
- 6:59on there, and please tell me Happy Gilmore Too is not on there yet.
- 7:03Yesterday on his podcast they were talking about it. That was Kelsey will
- 7:06be announced as part of the cast of Abby Gilmore Too. WHOA. I
- 7:13didn't even know there was a job opening for If there is, I'll be
- 7:18an extra. Trying to think of what role and maybe the old one.
- 7:24Would I be the jack guy. I'd be the one heckling from the crowd
- 7:27that probably feels like the right role for you at Trav. And you know
- 7:30how much I love the Kelsey brothers before Taylor Swift. He was even a
- 7:34look in his eyes get off from man, would you? I mean,
- 7:36seriously love it. I'm also more of a Jason Kelsey fan than a Trav
- 7:41fan, but this would just be maybe too much for me. Well,
- 7:44he does actually have an IMDb profile, Amanda Okay. He has previously appeared
- 7:47as an actor in Moon Base eight. He appeared on one episode of the
- 7:54twenty twenty TV series, and he's also currently in production for the upcoming TV
- 8:00series Grotesqueery. That's the one. That's the one I was trying to pronounce.
- 8:03Oh yeah, I think it's Grotesquerie. Anyway, I don't know what
- 8:07he's doing in there, but he's trying to do too much. I mean,
- 8:09he's obviously preparing for life after football. One. Yeah, I mean,
- 8:13of course, there's a lot of people going, well, if you
- 8:16and Tay are fine and you guys end up getting married, life after football
- 8:20is going to be a okay for you. Buddy, that's true. You
- 8:22know he'll buddy, you don't want to be just you know, Elea leaching
- 8:24on to her for sure. And you know what, already he's he probably
- 8:28has enough money to move forward. But now he's living an incredibly lavish lifestyle.
- 8:33Imagine that too, like the way he's living his life with Taylor Swift
- 8:37because she has so much money. It is not how he normally probably would
- 8:43have. Bet. It's a great point, Amanda, I mean, think
- 8:46about that. Sorry, I've mentally moved on to the next story. Okay.
- 8:50Rolling Stone magazine yesterday released an article and I guess they did their own
- 8:54six month investigation about everything going on with Diddy. They reach out to about
- 8:58fifty people who are close to him, they said, the majority of people
- 9:01fifty people. Yeah, they were like a majority of people would not if
- 9:03you would not talk to them. Oh that's easy for you, So you
- 9:07try to reach out fifty people I'm close to close to me. Just you
- 9:13and your boy group. You've got your band, which is already what six
- 9:16of you, five, five of us. Yes, I'm just saying fifty
- 9:18is a big you're golf league boys of the Doppelganger or whatever. Your dong
- 9:22whatever left leg. You're saying it with a tone of disrespect. My golf
- 9:28league is known as the dong leg left Golf League. Okay, yes,
- 9:31And so how many are in that? Is it? Twelve? Twelve?
- 9:33Okay? So doing the math, we're way over twenty now next we even
- 9:37got to family exactly. So anyway, going back to did he yesterday?
- 9:43Some of the headlines and it's just disturbing. Did he allegedly whopped a college
- 9:46girlfriend with a belt in front of screaming friends. He allegedly beat a record
- 9:52executive for dating his ex comporter. He was waiting outside of MTV's TRL to
- 9:56try to win Jennifer Lopez back. I kind of love bombing people if they
- 10:00were to try to leave him. It's just that's the least bad. But
- 10:01they're all terrible. I Mean, this guy just sounds like human trash.
- 10:05And the fact he's got away with it for so long, and how many
- 10:07people knew and were protecting him. Yeah, and it kind of feels like
- 10:11still trying to protect him, of course, Yeah, because I'm sure they're
- 10:15benefiting from it, of course, absolutely. And Ellen, we knew she
- 10:18was going to be wrapping up her comedy career with that Netflix special, but
- 10:20she's also going out on tour, her final tour, Ellen's Last Stand Up
- 10:26is going on. The pre sale starts today, but it is going to
- 10:28be hitting twenty seven cities already starting June nineteenth, starting in San Diego.
- 10:33It's actually ending in Minneapolis on August seventeenth. Amazing to me, though,
- 10:37that ticket pre sale is today and it's already sold out in eight cities.
- 10:43How huh. I'm not really good at math and understanding, but that seems
- 10:46impossible. That reminds me of when I'm trying to book a tea time for
- 10:50Saturday at Rose Creek and they open up at seven am sharp, and I
- 10:54refresh the page and what do you know, there are no tea times available.
- 10:58Oh, speaking of that, it's Thursday. Are you not golfing this
- 11:01weekend? No? Oh, Fargo Marathon and are usually at six fifty eight
- 11:05in our studio on a Thursday. It goes think, think, or makes
- 11:09whatever alarm noise you have so you can jump online. Unfortunately, Amanda,
- 11:13it's a working weekend for this guy. But what's new? Please? Amanda?
- 11:20In the morning on Big seven? All right, Pike, are you
- 11:24ready? For this. You want your relationship to last. I mean that's
- 11:28kind of the goal in life. You want your relationship to have a lot
- 11:31of goals, Amanda, that being one of them. Yes, right,
- 11:33But I think there comes a point even if you've been in a relationship for
- 11:35a long time, things start bothering you, maybe gives you the ick.
- 11:39The ick it gives me. The ick is the phrase the ick, and
- 11:43my wife's really embraced it a good sign. I had not heard about it
- 11:46until you kind of started using it because your wife did. And uh,
- 11:50it's hot right now. But they just released the top ten quote IX that
- 11:54can result to a breakup. Uh oh, let's see if you're breaking any
- 11:58of these rules, are I guess I've been told I was giving her the
- 12:00more than once, and so let's see if the reason is on here.
- 12:03Really Yeah, yeah, I troubling to say the least, Amanda, I
- 12:07know, have you fixed these problems or do you just act as though whatever
- 12:11I'm aware of it now at least, which is step one. Well,
- 12:13I think that's important that that's what keeps marriages and relationships healthy. You have
- 12:18to at least be honest. You can't just stew over something. Yeah,
- 12:22that in a good once and again, all right, here we go.
- 12:26Number ten on the list is pretending to be knowledgeable about something. If anybody
- 12:31in our relationship does that is my wife. I tell her all the time,
- 12:33like, there are certain people you might know like this. It is
- 12:35okay to just not know something. It's okay to not have the answer or
- 12:41just not be informed about something. But the last thing you need to do
- 12:43is just sit. They're gonna be oh I think it's this, or like
- 12:46I'm pretty sure this is the answer. I try to say you don't know.
- 12:50Yeah. I just don't embrace that as far as like, huh what,
- 12:52I don't know what you're talking about. Some people just can't say I
- 12:56don't know. Yeah. Another ick factor that can result of breakups living with
- 13:01your parents. Oh that's again. I don't know why that's not number ten.
- 13:05That would be really challenging. I mean, there are certain circumstances.
- 13:09Yeah, maybe a short term situation, but just in general, didn't you
- 13:13stay at your stepdad's house quite a bit, like on the weekends at the
- 13:16lake or whatever. Oh you're like yes, right, oh you're I'm just
- 13:20I like to grease amand up a bit because the lake is her stepdad's house.
- 13:26Well, yeah, it was like to the lake. I don't know
- 13:28why, why be so weird? Just jealous because I don't have a Lake
- 13:33May home. Many time they thought you guys had a place up on Cotton
- 13:35or a spot. No, don't you have a little spot on Cotton.
- 13:39No, my friend does a cabin on Cotton Lake. My family we've always
- 13:43done like the camper at a resort, like you know, you're just so,
- 13:46you're just in a campground on a lake, which is great, like
- 13:48totally you know, we don't need the house, you like, you're there
- 13:50there for the lake. So it's got everything you need. And obviously if
- 13:54you didn't have a inherited cabin, it's a it's a nice option for you.
- 13:58Totally absolute, all right, here we go. Number eight is referring
- 14:01to themselves in third person. I don't think i'd last a day. I
- 14:07don't know how Pike feels about that, but no, nobody in the nobody
- 14:11in the real world doesn't. And so I don't know why that's on the
- 14:13list. But if you did that, give you is gonna be icky?
- 14:16Well, if you do, it'd be a silly thing to do it sound
- 14:18funny? If anything Number seven is talking to loudly, they ain't gonna be
- 14:24mean. Uh uh. That is my single biggest pet peeve. You complained
- 14:28about this daily. And I don't know if it's just the environment we work
- 14:31because it's just a bunch of radio people. Yeah, very loud. It
- 14:35is loud, like you can hear conversations. We'll walk into the morning,
- 14:37and oddly enough, you and I are probably the most quiet, And it's
- 14:41just like wild. Some people just don't have an awareness of how how loud
- 14:46they need to talk for the environment, And I don't know what it is.
- 14:48I think it might have been that psychic that we upset in New York
- 14:52City when we were visiting that one time. That put a hex on me
- 14:54that the rest of my life, every bar or restaurant I go into,
- 14:58I'm gonna be seated next to the loudest talker in the world, somebody who
- 15:01laughs so unbelievably loud, comically loud. I'll hear these voices. I'll think
- 15:07I couldn't even if you said, be as loud as you can, I
- 15:11don't think I could possibly produce the sound that some people. You know what
- 15:15I mean? Maybe I'm just a little sensitive to it. I think so,
- 15:18I think I might be a sensitive to it. Another one on the
- 15:20list interrupting people. I'm bad at that. Oh, very annoying. Yeah,
- 15:24and it happens. Bad table manners. Table manners, yes, one
- 15:30of those. You see, you might have bad table manner. Really,
- 15:33I say please and thank you all the time, please and think you It
- 15:35should just be a gift locked in. If I need the pepper, I
- 15:37ain't going to reach. I know that I'm gonna say, hey, can
- 15:39you please pass the pepper? That was like ingrained in us as a child.
- 15:43Absolutely? Yes, But now are my elbows on the table? Sure?
- 15:46Because that's a stupid outdated thing. Who cares if my elbows are on
- 15:50the data did not ever come back? I know it's absurd. So that
- 15:54and other than that, Yeah, I eat quickly and possibly in a messy
- 15:58manner. But again it's none of your business, all right, no sense
- 16:02of humor? You just fail at life if you have no sense of humor.
- 16:06I'm going to struggle. Yeah, just in general, having a messy
- 16:10houser living space. See you later, asta lavista with you. No,
- 16:17Yeah, I don't know. I think my wife and I are equal amounts
- 16:18of messy at times. I mean, we do like to clean, and
- 16:22you know, we like to keep things relatively tidy, but also okay with
- 16:26occasionally letting things get slip a little bit, like if you're busy, yeah,
- 16:32or if I want my entire wardrobe lying on the side of my side
- 16:34of the bed, that's my business. She doesn't that doesn't bother her.
- 16:38I'm not saying it doesn't bother her. Oh got it. I think she
- 16:41doesn't like when it grows to be such a pile that she has to sort
- 16:44of like high step over it to get to the bathroom. That probably is
- 16:48the issue You're going to be a problem and the last one on the ick
- 16:49factors if you want to keep your relationship going strong. Poor personal hygiene stanger.
- 16:56Yeah, what's the grossest thing about Nick personal hygiene? Wis he has
- 17:00really coarse hair and just so when he shaves, like he shaves his beard
- 17:06and all that, and he just he thinks he's cleaning up after himself.
- 17:10But I can see those little hairs everywhere. I don't know what. Even
- 17:12though we have like the Jack and Jill bathroom, it doesn't matter, It's
- 17:15still there. Like it's just it's everywhere. Something about those little beard hairs.
- 17:21You can swear to God that you're looking and that you think you've cleaned
- 17:23everyone up, and then you walk away and they just appear. It's like
- 17:26they come out of the ceramics. They're everywhere. So that's that is going
- 17:30to be gross and every once in a while that aim. I mean that
- 17:37aim. It's like, dude, the toilet bowl is the same size for
- 17:42everybody, like a minute in the morning, big nuddy points of all the
- 17:49apps on your phone, of course, there's a few that you go to
- 17:52mostly. You know, I've deleted Twitter. I try not to be on
- 17:55Facebook too much. But Reddit is my guilty pleasure. Love Reddit really of
- 18:00the app for that. Absolutely Yeah. I went years without realizing how great
- 18:03it is, and yesterday I'm perusing Reddit when I see nineties parents were just
- 18:10getting ripped apart on this. On this Reddit thread, basically, people are
- 18:15asking kids now, are what the heck were nineties parents thinking when it came
- 18:19to feeding their kids, Because nowadays, I'm mad, you're probably maybe realizing
- 18:23this with your two young kids, Like there's a little more pressure to have
- 18:26healthy food and you know, the things that kids are bringing into school for
- 18:30one percent. I follow a couple of people on Instagram, and I think
- 18:34that's kind of where that influence is. I had just told you last week.
- 18:38I argue with my stepdad all the time. He is like, he
- 18:41gets like V eight splash for the kids, and he's like, Amanda,
- 18:44it says right on here full of vitamin C and looks at the thing and
- 18:48I'm like, and look at the sugar and all like that. You know,
- 18:52red dye is like a huge thing, and we try to give our
- 18:53kids just as much natural food as possible. I am not a crazy I
- 18:57mean, I'm not a crazy person. Kids are eating the freezies doing all
- 19:00this stuff, but I try to do more of stay away from that as
- 19:04much as I can. But it's it's hard. It's hard, and especially
- 19:07think back to the nineties. I don't know how hard it was for parents
- 19:11then, but this thread, people are just ripping parents for things like hot
- 19:15dogs instant. But think about what you were eating back in the nineties.
- 19:18Salisbury steak, microwave meals, Oh my gosh. When I would go visit
- 19:22my dad in Colorado. My stepmom is not a good cook. She just
- 19:26never really does, really, And so she was working full time, and
- 19:29so I'd go there for like six weeks out of the summer and I had
- 19:32that was it? Yeah, Like straight up you'd get the like hungry man
- 19:37meals if you have the little disgusting potatoes and whatever. Yeah, there was
- 19:41probably like you might have gone weeks without having a single vegetable during the nine
- 19:45yea And things like gogurt. Remember go gurt. That's pure kind of a
- 19:49thing, is it really? Yeah, every once in a while my kids
- 19:52like those frozen, but they make got healthier version of it. I know,
- 19:57somebody, if you're listening, you happened to be driving around with a
- 20:00frozen gogurt. Why don't you bring that bad boy into the studio. We'll
- 20:04get you some tickets to something, thank you. But then also, I
- 20:10mean, just the drinks alone. In the nineties, remember just all day,
- 20:14every day in the summer, taking out the big thing of sugar in
- 20:15a measuring cup and making a big thing of kool aid. That or we'd
- 20:19make kool Aid ice cubes. That was always super fun to put in les
- 20:25Tang Shasta that was our go to because it was so cheap. Was the
- 20:27Shasta. What was the not mountain dew but sublant a surge. Yeah,
- 20:37then had a quick moment in the sun and my god that it was good.
- 20:40But it was sixty grams of sugar. Yeah, insane, it should
- 20:42be I legal. I'm thinking of just like right after softball you'd go to
- 20:47the convenience store or the whatever gas station, like the long laughy taffys,
- 20:52the fun dips. I mean, everything was just full of sugar, absolutely,
- 20:56even now, and I'm so much more aware of it now. Of
- 20:57course, then when you're a kid, you're not paying attention. I was
- 21:00at the grocery store and my intentions were so good, Amanda. I was
- 21:03hungry, and I knew I wasn't gonna be able to get to dinner without
- 21:04eating something. So I thought, why don't I get a protein bar at
- 21:07the growth, you know, packed with protein. Yeah. So I'm trying
- 21:11to find them, and I finally find one from Gatorade. And maybe that
- 21:15was my first mistake, was getting a food item from the brand Gatorade.
- 21:18But they make this protein bar and it was like, oh, twenty two
- 21:21grams of protein. I'm great, buy it, start eating it, and
- 21:23I realized I'm like this is this just tastes like sugar. This tastes like
- 21:29a candy bar. And so I look at the back of it. There's
- 21:30thirty two grams of sugar. Like this has no business being in the health
- 21:36session. And the front of it says twenty two grams of press. I
- 21:38mean that's the headline. Yeah, all right, lance Pants, this is
- 21:41what I'm telling you, Like every weekend. What did you just call me?
- 21:44I called you my stepdad, Lance Pants. I guess thank you for
- 21:48letting me clarify that. People were like, wow, that was a really
- 21:52weird thing to say. Now here's what you need to know. Well,
- 21:55I know tomorrow is the end of May, but the city leaders in Fargo
- 21:59want to remind people that no mo May is really not good. So if
- 22:03you haven't mode your lawn, get to mow in your lawn. First of
- 22:06all, it violates city ordinances. That should be enough. But they're also
- 22:08saying the whole campaign encourages people not to mow their lawns during the month of
- 22:11May to help early season pollinators. But Fargo cast public health officials are saying,
- 22:17actually it's a health hazard because of the voles, mice, insects,
- 22:19and other attractions. I mean, so you I've read things like this too,
- 22:22that it's not doing what you think it might be doing for the environment.
- 22:26I don't know, but I think people just mostly use it as an
- 22:27excuse to go a month without mowing their lawn, which I guess I don't
- 22:32understand. There's something about taking pride in your lawn. Like my husband gets
- 22:36those lines the way they are. I'm like, way to go. He's
- 22:40a big law guy, isn't he? He is a big long guy.
- 22:41I love that smell though fresh cut grass. Oh you know what I really
- 22:45love is like then the kids track it in the house and stuff. It's
- 22:48so great, all those fresh clippings. It's so nice, love it,
- 22:52and it's funny. He always does it, like right after we clean the
- 22:53houses. You're coming off as a little complaining. I was kidding, No,
- 22:57I do. I love. I'd rather sit there and watch a beautiful
- 23:00look out at a beautiful lawn. Yeah, just sniff it, big,
- 23:06big long guy, Like, get my nose in the grass. I love
- 23:10a Yeah. Well, I mean listen, I golf all the time,
- 23:11and there's nothing better than a freshly Finally, they've hacked down the rough at
- 23:15Rose Creek, you know, because it was so wet there, so my
- 23:19god, trying to hack out of there. You know, Thank god I've
- 23:22hit most of the fairways last night in the league, so I didn't have
- 23:25to worry about the long stuff. It's funny you bring up the uh people.
- 23:29No, No, that's not funny. That's expected usually on a Thursday
- 23:33on this program Big the dub By the Way, I see a lot of
- 23:37people complaining over in West Fargo, Like even in our neighborhood where the city
- 23:40is supposed to mow. It's just really really tall, not looking so good.
- 23:42But I think it's because of the rain. I would assume otherwise,
- 23:45I'll send an email here in a couple of weeks if they don't get to
- 23:48it the city. I've never been that person exactly. So I've heard you
- 23:52on calls with customer service. Oh please, you strike me as that person.
- 23:56I don't even call customer When have I been on a call? You
- 24:00were on with the phone company one time? This might have been years ago.
- 24:03A phone plan. Yeah, we were on a phone plan, a
- 24:06family plan or whatever the heck they called it. But you were very rude.
- 24:10Okay, probably we were very safe with some bucks. Very let me
- 24:12speak to your manager. Put on, put somebody on the phone that can
- 24:15actually do something. Hey, I was there when you were talking to the
- 24:18car wash people. Bike. Yeah, that was a legitimate issue. I
- 24:22had a vowed reason to take them to small claim score. I was I
- 24:26had money stolen from me. Okay, all right, charges had been dropped
- 24:30against Scottie Scheffler. We knew probably this was gonna happen, but officially happened
- 24:34yesterday. I don't think anybody's surprised by that. All right, Tonight is
- 24:38the night, of course, it is big happy hours. If you wanted
- 24:41a little t Wolves, pregame and join us over at the local seven to
- 24:44one, or just come celebrate the last day of school whatever it is.
- 24:47That's from four until six o'clock. But do not forget t Wolves game five
- 24:52seven thirty it home. This is like game do we have that because we
- 24:57know you can't bet on it. We know you have like kind of whatever
- 25:00energy they do. Well, this is really it's kind of the ball is
- 25:03in. Some may say bike your your that's the funniest thing you've ever heard
- 25:11of. He's just killing killing you right now. That's pretty good. Yeah,
- 25:15it's a stupid pun balls in my cord. I suppose when you go
- 25:22to the I don't know, we don't go to the bar. Do they
- 25:25win or going to the bar? Well, the last time I watched the
- 25:29first half of the bar, so to me, going to the bar for
- 25:32at least the first half seems like a slam dunk. Okay, all right,
- 25:34now you like that this is so bad? I can't you know sometimes
- 25:41when you think you're so funny, and I just I wonder if people are
- 25:45just chuckling. Probably not gonna be raining, rainy today, cloudy, good
- 25:52day for a ball game. For a ball game, he shoots, he
- 25:57scores. Now, I'm just saying basketball swinging a miss. This whole program
- 26:03today, Appreciate it, just like it a minute in the morning. Come
- 26:06on, get up on Big seven. You all know somebody who likes to
- 26:11let you know how busy they are. Something they call busy bragging now been
- 26:17labeled and it is the most annoying thing. Right, We're all busy.
- 26:21Everybody's got something going on. Even if you think somebody, oh they don't
- 26:25they don't have kids, or they don't they're surely their job isn't stressful.
- 26:29It's like, right, the human brain, no matter what situation you're in,
- 26:32it's gonna find things to be stressed about. And you're gonna be busy
- 26:34no matter what. Busy in different ways obviously, but yes, Like if
- 26:38I hear somebody sometimes they're complaining to me about something and I'm just thinking,
- 26:42shut up. You went to bed last night when I woke up and I'm
- 26:47having a conversation with you, and it's seven o'clock at night, you know
- 26:49what I mean? Absolutely, And I have two kids and I'm going through
- 26:52so it's easy in your brain to kind of like, you don't say it
- 26:56out loud, but you kind of like it's your shut up. Yeah,
- 27:00here's the news, though it's not doing you any favors. If you're the
- 27:03one that's constantly talking about how swamped you are and how tired and how busy,
- 27:07you just don't have time for any that they did a whole study over
- 27:10at the renowned University of Georgia Terry, Oh my gosh, what was a
- 27:17tech or something which no, no mar but never heard of it, like
- 27:19a guy named Terry. Anyway, they're conduct to the study. You are
- 27:23right, and it turns out people who do this busy bragging were less likely
- 27:29to receive help from coworkers when they were legitimately overloaded, So you're not doing
- 27:33yourself any papers there, and they were just overall less liked by their coworkers.
- 27:37I can see that. Yeah, yeah, I mean it's tempting,
- 27:41but uh, just don't do that. Don't do that. The person always
- 27:44running around hustling, going, it's just like it's just always go mode,
- 27:48and they're busier than everybody else, and they're taking everybody else's the consideration of
- 27:53what everybody else is doing, because usually you you think that they're not doing
- 27:56anything. Maybe, but it's like, hey, we're doing stuff. We're
- 27:59just not telling everybody about every move we're making exactly. But then sometimes you
- 28:03got to play the game a little bit. You gotta at least, you
- 28:07know, be tactical about letting people know that you are doing something right.
- 28:10You don't need to be like overboard, Oh my god, it's so busy,
- 28:12but you know, dropping in little things here and there about what you've
- 28:15been doing or doing the George Costanza and I know you're not a Seinfeld fan,
- 28:18which you should be doing it thrown in prison for, but Basically,
- 28:22as you're sitting at your desk or at your work, if you just look
- 28:25annoyed, it sends the message to people they're like, God, this guy
- 28:27has got a lot going on, you know what I mean, Look at
- 28:30me right now. I know you can't see me because you're probably listening on
- 28:33the radio, but it's just like, just like just stressed, got it,
- 28:37a lot of hands on your forehead, you know, do the thinking
- 28:41about constantly thinking? People walk by like, oh God, I don't want
- 28:45to bother him. What's he got a big report do by noon? Or
- 28:48if you just probably shut your office door, it's like, oh, that
- 28:52is intense, even though in the morning, Big naty eight point seven,
- 29:00Piking a man in the morning, a big ninety eight point seven, Today's
- 29:03Variety, Oh my gosh, here we are, Amanda one week you've been
- 29:07waiting for wait till the beat kicks in. It's, of course, the
- 29:12sweet sounds of popular local band Low Standards, who's opening for Eve six next
- 29:18Friday night? And happy here he's with us. You can't even say it
- 29:21with a straight face. What do you mean, like think we're kidding getty,
- 29:25I can't know. And that's actually happening and we are throwing the ultimate
- 29:27pre party called the Low Standards Experience. Every morning your chance to win.
- 29:33We just were looking for callar nine. So good morning, Hi, Well
- 29:37what's your name? We got to do a couple of formality things first,
- 29:40Kelsey, are you sitting down? Yeah? Thank you? Good? Because
- 29:45you just want the fun thing is is do you know what you called to
- 29:52win? Or did you just hear win? Now? Standard is what I
- 29:56want? Right? You are? You are Kelsey, gradual relations. You
- 30:00are in the Low Standards Experience Before are what will be a world famous show
- 30:04opening for Eve six at Happy Harry's rib Fest. We're gonna have a great
- 30:07time. We're gonna have some drinks, We're gonna get some ribs, I
- 30:10mean the works. So are you excited? Sounds like you might be.
- 30:12I'm excited. I am excited, Yes, Kelsey. I'm just curious.
- 30:17Are you married? I'm not? No, Okay, I'm trying to think
- 30:19away. Are you asking that this is getting weird? Okay? Here's what
- 30:22if you said yes? I was going to be like where does this rank
- 30:26as far as like best days of your life? But curious? Where does
- 30:30it ran? Oh, it's the top it's experience. She's got to leave
- 30:36room for the actual experience itself because you know for sure whatever it was is
- 30:40going to be bumped out of there. Yeah, were either way, So
- 30:42VIP is even better. That's right, the low standards experience. Kelsey,
- 30:47you and a guest are in. We will see you next Friday night.
- 30:48Wonderful. Thank you. You're probably wondering to yourself, how can I win?
- 30:52Can I win? Next? Tomorrow? Morning? Man? I think
- 30:55we do it again, lucky ducks. Probably a few more chances. That's
- 31:00right. Clock is ticking. I get a Manda in the morning. Seven.
- 31:04The Olympics are once again going to great lengths to prevent athletes from having
- 31:11relations. I remember hearing about this and is it Does it have anything to
- 31:17do with the cots. Yeah, so they have what they're calling anti anti
- 31:22the S word. Can. I don't even know what I can do.
- 31:25I should read the man, you, I should read the employee handbook.
- 31:27These beds that are designed to not have intimacy take place on them for just
- 31:33one person. But you gotta think these athletes, I mean, they've managed
- 31:38to get to the top of their sport. I think it get created.
- 31:41I gotta think they can find a way, because lord knows, we all
- 31:45had at some point, you know, I mean, listen, think of
- 31:48some of the creative No, I'm good, would you going to share any
- 31:52of what's the most creative you've ever been? I'm just kidding, Do not
- 31:53answer that. So basically, they in twenty twenty, you remember they had
- 31:57to ban it all together just because of the pandemic and everything. Yeah,
- 32:01right, But now I guess I don't know what they're what their problem is.
- 32:06I think they just want people to be locked in on the games versus
- 32:09the uh, you know, the the little side hustle could be going on
- 32:14that could be a big distraction. Well, they it's the firmness of the
- 32:17beds that apparently are the what preventing them, so they're making them like super
- 32:22basically uncom Okay, the floor is also okay, you can figure it out.
- 32:30I mean, there gets a point, I mean gets a point in
- 32:34a pinge, right, listen, I know you got I mean, listen,
- 32:38you gotta if you're when you're in love, and this is what happens
- 32:42when when two adults are in love, sometimes they're going to get some scabs
- 32:45on their knees. I'm just saying. I'm just saying I'm giving the talk.
- 32:50Anybody who hasn't received it yet, thank you, thank you, appreciate
- 32:52that. But I just think that when you're going to the Games, the
- 32:57Olympics and you're doing all that, I don't know, but I guess there
- 33:00is a lot of downtime too, I know, especially if you're like a
- 33:02sprinter. I mean you're basically busy for nine seconds. Well, you just
- 33:07wonder what it's like, because what are they still call it, like Olympic
- 33:09village where they're at. Yeah, where do some of these bigger athletes,
- 33:15like Simone Biles, does she go have to stay in some of these places
- 33:17or do they get like five star hotels? I got That's what I'm wondering,
- 33:22because there's so many Olympians that you don't know. Of course we know
- 33:27like a few, there's hundreds of them. So like the javelin guys,
- 33:30like, where are they going to be? You know, Well, we
- 33:31had and I am totally spacing his name in the last Olympics. He was
- 33:36out here, remember the shot putting he was doing that, yes, oh
- 33:39yeah, And he came and we were like throwing watermelons, having fun with
- 33:45him and he was kind of talking about we checked in with him while he
- 33:46was out there, and it was very like, yeah, ok, because
- 33:51I think it was during COVID, Like it was just a very different experience.
- 33:54Yeah, I'm sure. I mean, imagine showing up and again,
- 33:57you've trained your whole life for this moment, gonna give you an uncomfortable mattress
- 34:01because they don't want you fooling around. But that shouldn't even be the reason.
- 34:04It's like, don't you want if I'm if I'm a from the team
- 34:07of USA, I want to sleep good. I need a good night to
- 34:10rest if you want me to, yeah, do so keep morale high now,
- 34:15I mean, of course it's Olympics, so I don't want any intermingling
- 34:16between nations. Okay, we can't have anything. Oh what if that?
- 34:21Maybe there's something there, like what if they fall in love or whatever?
- 34:27And then it's or they're trying to sabotage us. Yeah, like, hey,
- 34:30what are you doing at two am? Exactly? So keeping them up
- 34:35too late? I get you. So maybe that's more event right, So
- 34:37thanks a little on our swim team swimming around with the Russians. Okay,
- 34:40none of that going in a minute in the morning ninety point seven. You
- 34:45want suspect to thing when you hear that telephone room by Express, what's lucky
- 34:52number? This lesson by Expred Sunny want arrest Frank? Yeah, what a
- 35:00good song. Anyway, It's always interesting to hear what intel I get from
- 35:06the people who reach out and want me to print call a loved one.
- 35:08And today the intel I got, Amanda was that this lady is an avid
- 35:13pickleballer. Much like the rest of the world. He's been taking by storm
- 35:15by this silly little game with the racket. It is fun, That's what
- 35:20I hear. Well, let's have some fun speaking of the devil. All
- 35:22right? Why hello, Hi? Is this Brittany. Brittany Hello, stan
- 35:37Van Morrison, director of the West Fargo Parks Pickleball Division. How are you
- 35:42doing this morning? Yeah, I'm fine. What can I do for you?
- 35:46Well, I'm going through what I call my annual pickleball Talent audit,
- 35:52where I assess the skill levels of the players who are playing pickleball in the
- 35:55West Fargo area and I try to reassign the to a court you know that's
- 36:00sort of best suited for their skill level and now, Brittany, you've been
- 36:06playing pickleball over at Russtad it looks like correct. Uh, yeah, that's
- 36:12where I usually play. Wait where did you get this information from? Oh?
- 36:15Honey, I know everything when it comes to pickleball. I'm stan Van
- 36:21Morrison. Okay, sir, I'm okay for work. So is there anything
- 36:29else we needed to talk about here? Well, I'll cut right to it.
- 36:31Brittany, you were assessed in the audit as a B level pickleball player,
- 36:37and unfortunately the courts you've been playing on are designated for players at a
- 36:42C level or better. How high can the letters go? Well, we
- 36:47use the entire alphabet, so it h so it goes up to Z Z.
- 36:53Are you are you kidding me? So? Like B pretty bad?
- 36:57Yes? B is pretty bad? Correct? Okay, you can't possibly tell
- 37:01me we're allowed to play pickleball. I mean that's ridiculous. Well I can't,
- 37:06actually, given my status as the pickleball director here in West Fargo.
- 37:09So, Brittany, I'm sorry, but we're just gonna have to have you
- 37:13start playing exclusively at elementary schools with the other B players who we generally find
- 37:19are grade schoolers. Are you kidding me? Okay, you know what you
- 37:29I don't know what to tell you. Listen, I'm just going to keep
- 37:30playing pickleball wherever the hell I want to play pickleball. And I don't really
- 37:36see how there's anything that you can say about that. Ye know, you
- 37:39would be able to do it that, Brady, if you weren't just such
- 37:42a stinker at pickleball, you see who This is like the rudest phone call
- 37:47I've ever had, Like you can take your pickleball and you can just shove
- 37:51it. Well, Brittany, now hang on a second. I got to
- 37:54tell you something before we do anything with any pickleballs. This is a prank
- 37:59call. Yeah, it's a prank call. It's a prank call, Brittany,
- 38:01Brittany, call what you're like? Twelve? No, not twelve?
- 38:07Oh, Brittany, are you there? Brittany, don't stop it? Oh
- 38:10god, darn it. Oh God, Now I feel bad here. You
- 38:13know, I'm sure she's not that bad. All right, Well, what
- 38:15can you do? That's a that's Pike's prank, big f
