- 1:10Speaker 3: In This show is brought to you byer good friends
- 1:12Speaker 3: Rinseye Collegables used code Major Safe and I am thrilled
- 1:18Speaker 3: to talk about this toy line.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Bro. It's a short lived Yeah, it's a short lived line,
- 1:26Speaker 1: but timeless still holds up. I have them on my desk,
- 1:30Speaker 1: I have them on my office floor.
- 1:32Speaker 3: Dare I say age like wine? I appreciate them way
- 1:36Speaker 3: more now with their age.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Right, It's it's art, there are they are pieces of art,
- 1:42Speaker 1: piece of wrestling history. What are your memories of these figures?
- 1:48Speaker 1: And then we'll get into the line how it started
- 1:50Speaker 1: and of course the figures.
- 1:52Speaker 4: I've talked about this a couple of times on the show.
- 1:55Speaker 4: I'm pretty positive ninety percent sure that, like I discovered
- 2:03Speaker 4: ww period because of these figures going to Toys r
- 2:07Speaker 4: US seeing on the shelves. There's this weird narrative and
- 2:10Speaker 4: maybe it is true, not in New York where I
- 2:13Speaker 4: grew up, like that these were hard to come by
- 2:17Speaker 4: because I remember going to Toys r US singles two
- 2:20Speaker 4: packs always there.
- 2:22Speaker 1: And me going like, what who are these guys? What's this?
- 2:25Speaker 1: Blah blah?
- 2:25Speaker 4: And then I find ww on Saturday mornings and Saturday nights,
- 2:28Speaker 4: and you know, and then eventually, you know, we'll talk
- 2:32Speaker 4: about later in the show, like there's a lot of
- 2:33Speaker 4: crossover here, like how many guys have gloobs that also
- 2:36Speaker 4: have Hasbro's you know what I mean? You could kind
- 2:38Speaker 4: of when they jumped to WWF or vice versa, you
- 2:41Speaker 4: could beat them to market. You know, Rick Flair comes,
- 2:45Speaker 4: you already got a globe ready to go into your
- 2:47Speaker 4: your Hasbro fig fed. So that was like the real
- 2:50Speaker 4: exciting aspect of these that they were all in scale
- 2:53Speaker 4: with your you know, already flourishing w.
- 2:56Speaker 1: F Hasbro collection.
- 2:58Speaker 4: So it was literally the way I discovered that there
- 3:02Speaker 4: was a secondary promotion in America that was on television
- 3:06Speaker 4: and had product like this.
- 3:07Speaker 1: So that's how I discovered it all. I was so young.
- 3:10Speaker 1: I don't remember what came first, the figures of me
- 3:12Speaker 1: seeing them on TV. But I had them all, and
- 3:14Speaker 1: like you said, Brian, I remember them being plentiful in
- 3:17Speaker 1: the stores. Pillman was hard to find for me, Brian,
- 3:21Speaker 1: Pillman was hard to find for me, But I eventually
- 3:23Speaker 1: got them and I had them all.
- 3:26Speaker 3: So you're getting these like in nineteen ninety two.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I had these as a kid.
- 3:31Speaker 4: I mean, without a doubt. I have vivid memories of
- 3:34Speaker 4: them being on the shelves, especially at Toys r US,
- 3:37Speaker 4: especially the two packs. And I want to say every
- 3:40Speaker 4: the ones that I obtained, and I had the original,
- 3:43Speaker 4: you know, American twelve, and I think I got them
- 3:46Speaker 4: all via two packs.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Really can't. Yeah, maybe Sting and Luga were like separate,
- 3:51Speaker 1: but see, I don't even remember the two packs. I
- 3:54Speaker 1: remember getting mine, at least seeing them at Kitty City.
- 3:57Speaker 1: I don't recall when I got them or where I
- 4:00Speaker 1: but I got them all, like I said, And you know,
- 4:02Speaker 1: I was a big WCW fan. Of course w WF
- 4:05Speaker 1: was my number one, but I loved it was something
- 4:07Speaker 1: different and I loved like I remember It's It's War
- 4:11Speaker 1: Games ninety one where Sid and he ate power bombs
- 4:14Speaker 1: Brian Pillman and he gets caught on the top of
- 4:16Speaker 1: the cage, Like I remember stuff like that, right.
- 4:20Speaker 3: And you were watching the same thing, Brian, or you
- 4:22Speaker 3: don't know, you just had the.
- 4:24Speaker 4: I mean, I was very It's funny because I grew
- 4:26Speaker 4: up really appreciating Brian Pillman became one of my favorit wrestlers.
- 4:29Speaker 4: But when I was five and discover the guy, the
- 4:31Speaker 4: simplicity of that we had the same name, Brian was
- 4:34Speaker 4: like flying Brian, that's so cool. I was like, he
- 4:37Speaker 4: was my favorite, and that was like, in my memory,
- 4:41Speaker 4: the first one I got, So I don't remember having
- 4:43Speaker 4: trouble finding him because he was the one I wanted
- 4:45Speaker 4: the most and I got him like from jump in
- 4:48Speaker 4: my mind.
- 4:48Speaker 1: At least, my number one was Sting. I even had
- 4:52Speaker 1: Sting come to my birthday party. Mark and you both
- 4:55Speaker 1: the picture if you're looking it might not look like
- 4:59Speaker 1: Sting because that's my dad's friend, Kenny Theston from the gym,
- 5:03Speaker 1: and he got a baby powder in his hair.
- 5:07Speaker 4: You were then to look a look at you like
- 5:10Speaker 4: crushing that buddy with that that that's which is not
- 5:13Speaker 4: a glue product.
- 5:14Speaker 1: But look at those cars that you could tell that's
- 5:16Speaker 1: early nineties. Oh my god, god, oh my god.
- 5:20Speaker 3: Yeah, the wheels.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Quote unquote, Sting came to my heart. He fooled me.
- 5:25Speaker 1: He fooled me. I believe it was thinking.
- 5:27Speaker 4: But Kenny all kidding aside, that is a testament to
- 5:30Speaker 4: like that there was popularity. Oh yeah, things that you
- 5:34Speaker 4: would have a Sting impersonator come to your fifth or
- 5:37Speaker 4: sixth birthday party like that.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, w W is a big deal.
- 5:40Speaker 3: I've heard this story before, and when Broski sent me
- 5:43Speaker 3: this text, I literally in my head wasn't even thinking.
- 5:45Speaker 3: I thought of myself, Oh yes, Brosky met Sting when
- 5:47Speaker 3: he was little. I was. I just briefly looked at it.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Well, that that guy actually Kenny Theston. He's done a
- 5:55Speaker 1: lot of w CW work as Sting. If you look
- 5:57Speaker 1: at some w c as in the early nineties, it's
- 5:59Speaker 1: Kenny east A dressed his sting. Oh my god, we
- 6:02Speaker 1: can put that in the on social media, you'll see it.
- 6:05Speaker 1: But yeah, so he fooled the world and he pulled me.
- 6:08Speaker 3: Well, you know everybody knows that I'm a big Rick
- 6:10Speaker 3: Flair collector.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Mark were you You were actively collecting these in college?
- 6:20Speaker 3: Well a couple of years ago, I think during the pandemic.
- 6:23Speaker 3: I got my hands on on this and.
- 6:27Speaker 4: I bought that for you as a gift to Toyhio.
- 6:28Speaker 4: You a cheap bastard, Yes, he did.
- 6:31Speaker 3: I knew that. I knew that you got me one
- 6:33Speaker 3: of these because I have the UK one and I
- 6:35Speaker 3: just wasn't sure which one you got me.
- 6:36Speaker 1: No, I want to say, I wouldn't shell out the
- 6:38Speaker 1: cash as Yeah, we can.
- 6:39Speaker 3: Talk about that later.
- 6:40Speaker 1: But yeah.
- 6:41Speaker 3: It wasn't until I had this in my hands and
- 6:43Speaker 3: I was staring at this picture of Rick Flair and
- 6:45Speaker 3: I realized that's how I first saw Rick Flair in
- 6:50Speaker 3: a toy asle. What like in a toy asle, just
- 6:55Speaker 3: who is this guy? Who is this older guy on
- 6:58Speaker 3: these toys? Know, I didn't know what WCWS was until
- 7:02Speaker 3: ninety five, probably, so I didn't see any of that stuff.
- 7:06Speaker 3: I didn't even really know it existed, so maybe it
- 7:12Speaker 3: was earlier. It must have been earlier because I was
- 7:14Speaker 3: watching Rick Flair in the WWF, But the first time
- 7:17Speaker 3: I saw Ric Flair was in a toy aisle on
- 7:20Speaker 3: a Globe Action figure set, So that's the first time
- 7:25Speaker 3: I was introduced. Now, as far as the Glube line goes,
- 7:28Speaker 3: I didn't know it existed until me and Steve Negron
- 7:31Speaker 3: we're playing our fig feds and it was it was
- 7:34Speaker 3: later on. It was probably ninety five when we started.
- 7:39Speaker 3: So we would see these in hobby shops. There was
- 7:43Speaker 3: a in the Holy Oak Mall. There was a small
- 7:46Speaker 3: collectible store and in the glass case they would occasionally
- 7:50Speaker 3: have a Hasbro like that's where we got our Dusty Roads.
- 7:54Speaker 3: It was five dollars loose.
- 7:56Speaker 1: I would say, Lucy right, loose.
- 7:58Speaker 3: Gloops, And I remember seeing the loose Rick Flair and
- 8:03Speaker 3: arn Anderson and I was, you know, really interested in
- 8:06Speaker 3: wrestling ninety five ninety six or whatever and being like,
- 8:09Speaker 3: holy shit, bro, we can get these and use these
- 8:12Speaker 3: in our fig fit. So that was the first time
- 8:14Speaker 3: I was sort of like really paying attention to this
- 8:17Speaker 3: as a line. And then Obviously, the Internet existed a
- 8:20Speaker 3: little bit, so you could you could do some research
- 8:22Speaker 3: on what existed. But I didn't even know about the
- 8:26Speaker 3: UK stuff until we started doing this podcast.
- 8:29Speaker 1: We'll talk about that. I might have been like in
- 8:35Speaker 1: the WWE when I learned of that.
- 8:39Speaker 3: Right, yea.
- 8:41Speaker 1: But a little history lesson on the WCW figures from Galub. So.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Glub was a company, if you watch toys that made
- 8:48Speaker 1: us Jewish lightning. Robbie Kanoff he was a big wrestling fan,
- 8:53Speaker 1: and you know, he convinced Glob to go after you know,
- 8:57Speaker 1: the the WWF at the time because Tube had figures,
- 9:01Speaker 1: I don't want to call them bootlegs, but cheap stuff
- 9:04Speaker 1: that other companies were also making. Eventually they got the Smurfs,
- 9:08Speaker 1: the A team. They thought, Okay, we need to be big,
- 9:11Speaker 1: we need to be mainstream, we need WWF. They went
- 9:13Speaker 1: to Vince McMahon, who already had an offer from Remco. Okay,
- 9:18Speaker 1: so then Galube beats that offer, but in comes LJN
- 9:23Speaker 1: and blows them ball out of.
- 9:24Speaker 3: The waterhould have been ninety four, by the way, eighty four.
- 9:29Speaker 4: But they basically stooged themselves to a universal that was
- 9:34Speaker 4: acquiring LJN and they like blew them out of the
- 9:37Speaker 4: water with the offer and that was it. But yeah,
- 9:38Speaker 4: Robbie came off spearhead at all because he was such
- 9:40Speaker 4: a wrestling fan, and that goes on throughout the years,
- 9:42Speaker 4: right because he you know, launches Simpsons toymakers and gets
- 9:47Speaker 4: w C again and.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Then eventually ECW you know, so then you know, once WWF,
- 9:53Speaker 1: you know, LJN lose the license, it goes to goes
- 9:55Speaker 1: to Hasbro. WCW is a thing now and Glube's like, okay,
- 9:59Speaker 1: let's go after these guys. And they do, they quickly do.
- 10:02Speaker 1: And that's why that's been said. Why they're you know,
- 10:07Speaker 1: the PBC material, no articulation, just because they signed the deal.
- 10:11Speaker 1: They had to get them a.
- 10:12Speaker 4: Market quick, which is a kind of animal and I
- 10:15Speaker 4: guess not at the time, not you know, desirable, but
- 10:20Speaker 4: like we were kind of alluding to when we start
- 10:21Speaker 4: to show that they're the sculpting is exceptional on these
- 10:26Speaker 4: They're like little works of art. And I think maybe
- 10:29Speaker 4: as a kid, you probably weren't appreciating. I think you
- 10:31Speaker 4: were probably appreciating the scale, you know, intertwining with your
- 10:35Speaker 4: Hasbro stuff, but I think as an adult collector you
- 10:38Speaker 4: look back at these and are like, oh my god,
- 10:39Speaker 4: some of these are like wonderful, like really really well done.
- 10:44Speaker 4: As a kid, it didn't really bother me to be
- 10:46Speaker 4: it did Yeah, right, I guess yeah, because I think
- 10:48Speaker 4: they were still in dynamic enough poses where you could
- 10:51Speaker 4: use your imagination and it's not like like the hasbros
- 10:55Speaker 4: can move it the waste and they're a little bit
- 10:56Speaker 4: but that's it, you know, like Mattel Ultimate Style with
- 11:00Speaker 4: you know, endless options.
- 11:01Speaker 1: You know, you're barely getting by as it is.
- 11:03Speaker 4: And I think we're coming right off of l j
- 11:06Speaker 4: NZ that had no articulation too, so it wasn't so
- 11:09Speaker 4: out of the realm that these things, you know, don't move.
- 11:15Speaker 3: Just like the fact that Flair has the hand that
- 11:17Speaker 3: you could you could chop with, like even though it's
- 11:19Speaker 3: not in the same direction or whatever, you.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Could Definitely we'll talk about all the moves we do
- 11:26Speaker 1: with the figures and what poses you know, we use
- 11:29Speaker 1: as moves and stuff like that when we get into
- 11:30Speaker 1: the figures. But the first sign of these glue figures
- 11:34Speaker 1: were at the nineteen ninety one New York Toy Fair.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Look at the Steiner brothers, Rick and Scott. Look at
- 11:41Speaker 1: Scottie cut off shirt hardcore Japan.
- 11:48Speaker 3: You'd see the pictures, I mean the figs and even
- 11:50Speaker 3: the big guys hang hanging up in the back there.
- 11:53Speaker 1: Yeah, back there in the box, I can see, yep.
- 11:59Speaker 1: I like that. They showed up toy Fair with the
- 12:00Speaker 1: straps the United States Tax Team Championship's pretty cool. If
- 12:05Speaker 1: you see major at toy Fair this year dressed up
- 12:08Speaker 1: in gear with some straps. We may have took it
- 12:12Speaker 1: from uh this photo shoot right here there you go,
- 12:15Speaker 1: But there are the Steiners right there, Rick and Scott
- 12:17Speaker 1: classic tag team. There they are holding up the figures,
- 12:20Speaker 1: looking proud, looking hungover. Look at he had a he
- 12:25Speaker 1: was partying Tye Square that had pour. Wow.
- 12:29Speaker 3: What is that blow up doll of sting there in
- 12:31Speaker 3: the back?
- 12:32Speaker 1: Oh yeah, what is that creepy thing? I don't know,
- 12:35Speaker 1: but I want it? I want it? Is that just building? Yeah?
- 12:39Speaker 3: Is that closer than we think it?
- 12:41Speaker 1: Is?
- 12:41Speaker 3: That a legitimate blow up doll?
- 12:43Speaker 1: I don't know why? Why is it not the real sting?
- 12:45Speaker 1: Why is that not on the table? Guys? Okay, uh,
- 12:53Speaker 1: he wasn't alone because Lex Luger Total package was also
- 12:57Speaker 1: Now this is a true pro in the.
- 12:59Speaker 4: Truggles oiled oiled up in trunks. Yes, walking around civilian
- 13:05Speaker 4: business people at toy fair.
- 13:06Speaker 3: Yeah. What you need to understand if you've never been
- 13:08Speaker 3: to a toy fair, it is not a comic con.
- 13:12Speaker 1: No, it an't, especially not in nineteen ninety one.
- 13:15Speaker 3: Yeah, there aren't people walking around in costumes at all.
- 13:17Speaker 3: It literally is like businessmen, especially back then, in suits,
- 13:22Speaker 3: making deals.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Like lubing the deals.
- 13:25Speaker 3: Like hey, you know, we'd like to carry ten thousand
- 13:27Speaker 3: of these figures in our stores across the country. That
- 13:29Speaker 3: kind of shit, and then Luger walks in oiled up.
- 13:34Speaker 3: It's just so insane to think about rules.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean Lex Luger, the tallt all package to me,
- 13:41Speaker 1: Luger sting flair like that was WCW at this era.
- 13:46Speaker 1: And you know, I I believe I started watching WCW
- 13:51Speaker 1: when it is WCW because there's a weird like transition
- 13:54Speaker 1: NWA ANDWCW. Then it's like just WCW memories of seeing that. Yeah,
- 14:01Speaker 1: neither do I, but you'll see later like the original
- 14:03Speaker 1: figures do have the NWA on the package. Speaking of figures,
- 14:08Speaker 1: do you want to start getting into him. Whoooooo, the
- 14:14Speaker 1: nature Boy Rick Flair. There he is if you look
- 14:20Speaker 1: at the bottom right, Superstars of the NWAC. It was
- 14:25Speaker 1: so confusing. WCWNWA is like Jesus Christ, just drop one
- 14:28Speaker 1: and eventually it did well.
- 14:30Speaker 3: It reads WCW presents the Superstars of the NWA.
- 14:34Speaker 4: And it's been a dream of mine to have a
- 14:35Speaker 4: smart Mark Sterling figure that says a real Killer with
- 14:38Speaker 4: the Ladies on the packaging. Yeah, let's talk about the packaging.
- 14:41Speaker 1: It's nice. Everyone has unique packaging. Real Killer with the Ladies.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Got Rick Flair, the the picture of Flair, the big picture,
- 14:50Speaker 1: and then the picture of him in action. Different hairstyles, Yeah,
- 14:53Speaker 1: doesn't bother me. And then even the figure has the
- 14:55Speaker 1: longer hair. Yes, so let's let's talk about the nature boy.
- 15:00Speaker 3: Huh well yeah, so this this would be what like
- 15:04Speaker 3: you were saying, this is the first series, first series, Yeah,
- 15:07Speaker 3: first series in nineteen ninety one. This is this is
- 15:10Speaker 3: released and you know obviously the main event they're champion
- 15:13Speaker 3: Rick Flair. And I do have the the Minton Card
- 15:16Speaker 3: version of this.
- 15:17Speaker 1: Now, guys, you have the NWA version or the WCW version.
- 15:22Speaker 4: WW So I have my collection here of autographed series
- 15:26Speaker 4: one globes that I'll be showing off throughout the show.
- 15:29Speaker 1: Whoo Flair Baby Blue.
- 15:31Speaker 4: That's nine there, sixteen time, and I purposely went with
- 15:35Speaker 4: the WCW versions of all of them because I don't
- 15:38Speaker 4: like I like you said, I don't even have like
- 15:40Speaker 4: memories of the NWA WW kind of crossover or transition.
- 15:44Speaker 1: Oh yeah, look, let's talk about the back of a little
- 15:46Speaker 1: clipping save all collect all twelve.
- 15:50Speaker 3: I love the roster on the back.
- 15:52Speaker 4: Great lotteries, like the back of the carding always had
- 15:55Speaker 4: all twelve, So I don't I'm sure these were ship
- 15:58Speaker 4: the stores and assortments, but I just.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Remember them all me too, being what they were. Let's
- 16:03Speaker 1: also mention, guys that they all come with a generic
- 16:07Speaker 1: w c W championship, which is cool. You can't have
- 16:10Speaker 1: too many titles because you think the Hasbros. They had
- 16:13Speaker 1: one title that came with the ring. If you got
- 16:16Speaker 1: the ring right, you know these This is a lot
- 16:19Speaker 1: of added value in terms we've learned later on. I mean,
- 16:24Speaker 1: I mean, I see this Bruskie right now. When you
- 16:27Speaker 1: display your loose gloub collection, do you have belts on
- 16:30Speaker 1: every guy on all series one. Yes, wow, yes, you
- 16:34Speaker 1: don't know. Really, I have a big baggie of all
- 16:38Speaker 1: the belt I have all I have all.
- 16:39Speaker 4: The belts, but I don't keep them in a bag,
- 16:41Speaker 4: so you're getting the belts later.
- 16:43Speaker 3: I just opened all these on within the last year, right,
- 16:47Speaker 3: I got. I got the whole set of whatever these
- 16:49Speaker 3: figures that I have. So I've never taken this belt off,
- 16:52Speaker 3: and I don't want to.
- 16:53Speaker 1: You might mess up the paint exactly. Yeah, I'm just
- 16:57Speaker 1: my time. I've never had that issue.
- 16:59Speaker 3: It is never come off. I have all these figures,
- 17:02Speaker 3: they're all wearing the belts. They're mint as hell. I'm
- 17:05Speaker 3: not even I'm not even gonna touch it.
- 17:06Speaker 1: I mean just just take a look at Mark at
- 17:08Speaker 1: the back of your flare, like the detail like he's
- 17:10Speaker 1: even got like I don't know, is that like some
- 17:13Speaker 1: uh some tape a sock. What's going on? It's only
- 17:16Speaker 1: on one leg though.
- 17:18Speaker 3: Yeah, it's only maybe he had to tape up his
- 17:21Speaker 3: calf like the day that he took those pictures.
- 17:23Speaker 1: We'll talk about it. It's the reference shots, right, I
- 17:28Speaker 1: use this flare. I thought it was perfect. And if
- 17:30Speaker 1: you go and watch the commercial, he does the nice
- 17:33Speaker 1: knee drop perfectly. I have visited He's shop knee drop.
- 17:39Speaker 1: I mean, whoa, Yeah, it's a low chot, maybe like
- 17:44Speaker 1: a ball tap, but you can still do it. You
- 17:46Speaker 1: still do it your imagination. But I have a vivid
- 17:49Speaker 1: memory because, like you said, Brian, when guys jump ship
- 17:53Speaker 1: like Flair, you got him already for your faith. You
- 17:55Speaker 1: don't have to wait for the has Bro. He did
- 17:57Speaker 1: a nice knee drop from the top on Macho Man.
- 18:01Speaker 1: It was a little stiff. His head broke off. He
- 18:05Speaker 1: decapitated the macho man. Did you like spike it?
- 18:10Speaker 4: Bro?
- 18:10Speaker 1: I was like, what six years old, I'm playing pretty hard?
- 18:13Speaker 3: Yeah, guard whoo. When this Flair replaced the Hasbro Flair
- 18:20Speaker 3: when we got it later.
- 18:21Speaker 1: Because your your timeline is all my timeline.
- 18:23Speaker 3: Is messed up. So we we have the Rick Flair
- 18:26Speaker 3: has Bro, which is.
- 18:27Speaker 1: Flair comes in and wins your rumble. Bro. When he's
- 18:31Speaker 1: holding up the tag team title and they're blurt it out,
- 18:34Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, He's the real world Ship. Seriously,
- 18:37Speaker 1: imagine he can come into your fig fed with this
- 18:40Speaker 1: title and say he's the real World's Champion. It's like unbelievable,
- 18:45Speaker 1: Manager Bro, I have goosebumps thinking about my childhood right now.
- 18:50Speaker 1: How I'm also not regretting my childhood, but I could
- 18:54Speaker 1: have been a little more serious my playing. I was
- 18:56Speaker 1: only five or six. If I was you know, if
- 18:58Speaker 1: I was older, I can I got a little more creative,
- 19:01Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, of course, but use the
- 19:04Speaker 1: insider terms in his promost.
- 19:06Speaker 4: Twenty one years in the professional wrestling business. Thinking about this,
- 19:09Speaker 4: try to, you know, pick a part of five year
- 19:11Speaker 4: old's play. But holding us in my hand right now,
- 19:14Speaker 4: I still think it holds up and it's beautiful.
- 19:18Speaker 1: Like I think if they made this today acceptable figure,
- 19:22Speaker 1: of course, it would be like a statue, you know,
- 19:24Speaker 1: it wouldn't be an elite figure and ultimately be some
- 19:27Speaker 1: sort of statue type thing.
- 19:30Speaker 4: It would be passable and people, we know there are
- 19:32Speaker 4: several companies attempting the Globe style as.
- 19:35Speaker 1: You speak, Yes, So so you want to get to there.
- 19:40Speaker 1: It is right there, the nature boywork player there and
- 19:42Speaker 1: you see, I.
- 19:42Speaker 4: Feel like we should talk about these reference shots that
- 19:45Speaker 4: before we go any further, because it's going to just
- 19:47Speaker 4: keep coming up.
- 19:48Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:49Speaker 4: So there's been some head scratchy things about these figures
- 19:52Speaker 4: and maybe like the gear choices or the appearance of
- 19:56Speaker 4: certain things. And then a couple of years ago we
- 20:00Speaker 4: finally surface some reference shots of what the talent took.
- 20:04Speaker 4: So you always have to take a step back from
- 20:07Speaker 4: the super toy fan, you know, eyes and realize that,
- 20:11Speaker 4: you know, sometimes these people it's just a job. So
- 20:14Speaker 4: they're just getting reference shots, and they don't know everything
- 20:16Speaker 4: about Rick Flair. They don't know that he's, you know,
- 20:19Speaker 4: the Superstar World Champion, right They're just taking the photo
- 20:23Speaker 4: they're seeing and turning it into you know, a four
- 20:26Speaker 4: and a half inch PVC figure.
- 20:28Speaker 1: That's their job, right right. So and then on the.
- 20:31Speaker 4: Flip side, sometimes these wrestlers are told they don't know
- 20:34Speaker 4: everything about the toy business. They're told to take these
- 20:36Speaker 4: photos and they just kind of, you know, do it lacksadaisical.
- 20:40Speaker 1: You'll see it a little bit. I don't want to
- 20:42Speaker 1: get too far ahead of herselves, but you'll see it
- 20:43Speaker 1: a bit.
- 20:44Speaker 3: Right well, And that's the other thing. I agree with
- 20:48Speaker 3: you in that sense. But then I also think that
- 20:51Speaker 3: people in WCW get the samples and nobody even gives
- 20:56Speaker 3: a shit.
- 20:57Speaker 1: I kind of have want to blame Rob.
- 21:00Speaker 4: He came off if he's like the in between and
- 21:02Speaker 4: the super fan, why was he like, why is doom
- 21:05Speaker 4: and sweatpants?
- 21:06Speaker 1: I think they didn't have time. We gotta if we
- 21:11Speaker 1: gotta get these out right, That's what I think, And
- 21:14Speaker 1: we will never know for sure, but Rick Flair, But.
- 21:17Speaker 4: Long story short, that's probably why one sock is showing. Yeah, right,
- 21:21Speaker 4: because whoever referenced it was like, oh, this must be
- 21:23Speaker 4: what he does every time when socc is showing in
- 21:25Speaker 4: the back of his nepad.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Gotta put that there.
- 21:27Speaker 3: Yeah, but I think everyone in does w CW goes yep,
- 21:30Speaker 3: looks good.
- 21:31Speaker 1: Yeah, we do know. They were pressed for time, so
- 21:35Speaker 1: even if there was major concerns, you know, what are
- 21:37Speaker 1: they going to do? And the original prototype of Flair
- 21:40Speaker 1: was slightly different paint decko a different blue, yellow laces
- 21:45Speaker 1: and also look at that more detailed belt looks way better,
- 21:49Speaker 1: way more detailed. WCW title. I like the gear we
- 21:53Speaker 1: have now. To me, it's like the iconic Rick Flair
- 21:55Speaker 1: of that blue, that baby blue, and I do wish
- 21:59Speaker 1: that was the title. Wet damn.
- 22:01Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the only great thing about it.
- 22:03Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, all right, let's go to the next figure
- 22:06Speaker 1: in the line. The enforcer. Double A. Arn Anderson. He
- 22:14Speaker 1: wrestles by his own rules. Yes he does ask you something.
- 22:17Speaker 1: What we were doing? All right? Double A arn Anderson
- 22:21Speaker 1: one of my favorite figures guys to this day. When
- 22:24Speaker 1: I go to my parents' house in New York and
- 22:27Speaker 1: I take a shower, they're in like the shower.
- 22:30Speaker 3: Still.
- 22:30Speaker 1: These were perfect bathtub shower figures to play with because
- 22:35Speaker 1: they the joints can't rot, you know what I'm saying.
- 22:39Speaker 1: To watch over him as he's butt naked in the shower.
- 22:44Speaker 1: Perfect post for a nice spinebuster. Oh yeah, perfect post
- 22:49Speaker 1: for a nice spine buster. Double A. Nay. Just got
- 22:52Speaker 1: this one autographed? Wow three days ago?
- 22:56Speaker 3: Yeah, oh man, I wish.
- 22:58Speaker 1: Yeah, looks great, really nice piece. He's got the white
- 23:02Speaker 1: on the front, the the red on the back. But
- 23:05Speaker 1: let's talk about the little controversy. Oh no, over the
- 23:09Speaker 1: over Double A. R. And Anderson. If you're looking right
- 23:12Speaker 1: here on my screen, he's got a hell of a
- 23:15Speaker 1: bald spot right which she They did him dirty. Anyone wondering,
- 23:21Speaker 1: you know, you could see ahead of time. If you're
- 23:23Speaker 1: a min on card purchaser, you could see that there.
- 23:26Speaker 3: Yes, that is a crazy they did him dirty in
- 23:29Speaker 3: the sense that, like, you know, was he balding? Then, yes,
- 23:33Speaker 3: that bald.
- 23:35Speaker 1: It is hard to show it in figure form. It's
- 23:38Speaker 1: either you do it or you don't, right, And apparently
- 23:42Speaker 1: aren't you got a little upset by this, That's what
- 23:44Speaker 1: the rumor mill is telling us. And they corrected it
- 23:47Speaker 1: and painted it in.
- 23:49Speaker 3: And so funny because it's so it's so painted in
- 23:52Speaker 3: you could just see the where it's smooth.
- 23:54Speaker 1: You know.
- 23:55Speaker 4: Yeah, And I have this like we've never you know,
- 23:58Speaker 4: as well as Matt and I. I've known Arn for
- 24:00Speaker 4: many years now. We've never directly asked them about it.
- 24:04Speaker 4: But I have this vivid memory that I will never forget.
- 24:08Speaker 1: And maybe Matt.
- 24:08Speaker 4: Remembers when the Jesse and Festut Tupac came out, Oh
- 24:12Speaker 4: Yeah by Jackson two thousand and eight. It came to
- 24:15Speaker 4: ring Psycollectibles first, so same as today, I'm very close.
- 24:19Speaker 4: I grabbed it as soon as possible. I brought it
- 24:21Speaker 4: to TV to bring to those guys, because you know,
- 24:23Speaker 4: they're two of my best buddies, you know. And then
- 24:26Speaker 4: I was proud of them and I wanted them to be,
- 24:27Speaker 4: you know, excited about their figure and we're showing them
- 24:30Speaker 4: and Gallows is getting kind of a laugh at like
- 24:32Speaker 4: the bald Spot, which in two thousand and eight. I
- 24:33Speaker 4: don't know how you had to make fests with the
- 24:35Speaker 4: bald spot. I don't see. There really wasn't a way
- 24:38Speaker 4: around that.
- 24:38Speaker 1: It actually gave him too much hair.
- 24:40Speaker 4: Yeah, probably, But this is in the locker room as
- 24:43Speaker 4: I hand this stuff to them, and Arns like overhearing us,
- 24:46Speaker 4: and I'm not realizing.
- 24:47Speaker 1: He goes fastest. They fucked your head all up.
- 24:51Speaker 4: They got me too, So like he definitely has knowledge
- 24:57Speaker 4: of this, you know, as you know the old school
- 25:00Speaker 4: globe and what happened to him.
- 25:01Speaker 1: So and that was years later. So I mean, look
- 25:04Speaker 1: at this perfect spybuster right here, perfect spybuster.
- 25:09Speaker 3: I remember, you could do the bulldog with it.
- 25:11Speaker 1: You do a nice pile driver, could pile driver positions
- 25:14Speaker 1: just like the real uh Arn. You know he was
- 25:17Speaker 1: a carpenter. You know you can throw one duck ddt.
- 25:21Speaker 1: You know you could all throw one duck DDT.
- 25:24Speaker 3: So this is this is actually, you know, personally one
- 25:28Speaker 3: of my favorite wrestling figures of all time. When I
- 25:31Speaker 3: sold every wrestling figure I had, which was just like
- 25:35Speaker 3: globs and has Bros, I kept this. This was the
- 25:38Speaker 3: only thing. And I had my desk at work for
- 25:41Speaker 3: years just this played with arn Anderson, not this one.
- 25:44Speaker 3: This is this is the new one. But I have
- 25:46Speaker 3: that that played with one somewhere in storage. But this
- 25:49Speaker 3: is one of my favorite figures of all time. And
- 25:51Speaker 3: it was so cool to sort of grow up and
- 25:53Speaker 3: then work with arn Anderson. And he whenever he saw me,
- 25:56Speaker 3: he always said counselor it's I appreciate it because even
- 26:01Speaker 3: in the back he put me over as a lawyer.
- 26:03Speaker 1: So Arn Anderson, you know, he's kind of changed my career.
- 26:06Speaker 1: At one point he told me that I need to
- 26:07Speaker 1: work a little more snug because I was too pretty.
- 26:09Speaker 1: So a lot of the boys right now they get
- 26:11Speaker 1: upset if I hit him a little too hards. He
- 26:12Speaker 1: don't blame me all these stiff shots. Sprosky has been
- 26:17Speaker 1: all the potatoes he's handed out over the years.
- 26:19Speaker 3: He's a man.
- 26:20Speaker 1: He absolutely is the next figure in the line. There
- 26:27Speaker 1: we Go, Baby, There we Go, And Brian, you are
- 26:30Speaker 1: not the only one who has one signed. I do
- 26:33Speaker 1: as well. I forgot that you actually were big, but
- 26:35Speaker 1: look him up. I have the og n w A.
- 26:39Speaker 3: That's pretty cool.
- 26:40Speaker 1: Mine is w c W blue paint pen out of
- 26:44Speaker 1: Baby Blue.
- 26:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Really actually looks really freaking nice. Stuns opponents with super
- 26:51Speaker 1: strength and here's the clip and save on the back
- 26:54Speaker 1: his motto, we're having fun now.
- 26:59Speaker 4: I gotta say, you know, obviously staying Hall of Fame
- 27:02Speaker 4: pro wrestler, this Hall of Fame wrestling figure. It's like
- 27:07Speaker 4: it's one of those things like if even if a
- 27:10Speaker 4: kid didn't collect wrestling figures, they had this figure. I
- 27:13Speaker 4: feel like, yeah, like a Hogan l j N. Like
- 27:15Speaker 4: you know what I mean, Like you you go to
- 27:16Speaker 4: a kid's house in the ninth early nineties, it's like
- 27:19Speaker 4: maybe they don't have a collection of wrestling figures, but
- 27:22Speaker 4: if they have one, it's this stinger.
- 27:25Speaker 1: Like, yeah, for sure, I have mine with a wrestling
- 27:27Speaker 1: figure workshop title. These are not official. These are basically
- 27:31Speaker 1: you know, it does look nice though it looks but
- 27:34Speaker 1: look at the rat tail there. He can do the
- 27:36Speaker 1: gorilla press, he can do a big stinger splash.
- 27:38Speaker 3: The stinger splashes epic.
- 27:40Speaker 1: Look at the stinger of boots right there. I also,
- 27:43Speaker 1: because I wasn't sure which one to collect, I have
- 27:46Speaker 1: the WCW one sided as well, Like god, it's crazy yeah,
- 27:49Speaker 1: I'm a psycho. I don't know which one to get in.
- 27:52Speaker 3: The new room. You gotta you gotta display that.
- 27:54Speaker 1: I'm gonna yeah, I'm gonna display one of them or
- 27:56Speaker 1: maybe both. But man, it's just awesome to hand take
- 28:00Speaker 1: paped up iconic figure. I believe this is in the
- 28:03Speaker 1: Major Restic Podcast Hall of Fame. It's like first Ballace,
- 28:06Speaker 1: first year guy. Yeah. Yeah, unbelievable figure, timeless figure. It's
- 28:12Speaker 1: it's fucking sting bro like this is the Hogan Yeah,
- 28:20Speaker 1: stinger right there. Unbelievable. Now this work gets a little
- 28:24Speaker 1: interesting because apparently there were other repaints of sing but
- 28:30Speaker 1: I don't uh necessarily have First, let's see this prototype,
- 28:34Speaker 1: which I don't know if it's a prototype or just
- 28:36Speaker 1: like a sample like white tights, blue booth. It looks
- 28:40Speaker 1: like it to me, that looks like more like a
- 28:42Speaker 1: sample unfinished, but we don't know pants he's yeah, like.
- 28:46Speaker 3: Pa looks more like your your thesin guy or whatever.
- 28:51Speaker 1: It's the same. You know what Actually I would like
- 28:57Speaker 1: to do I'm thinking about now, I'm really gonna commission
- 28:59Speaker 1: this someone to paint a group sting like the Kent
- 29:02Speaker 1: Thesa for my birthday. Party. Is there a good is
- 29:05Speaker 1: there a good customizer out there? Someone could do that
- 29:07Speaker 1: with these.
- 29:08Speaker 3: But these I don't get those whatever gym pants he
- 29:11Speaker 3: was wearing.
- 29:12Speaker 1: No, there's a nice bro I you wear those in
- 29:14Speaker 1: backyard wrestling years later. They're like eighties gym pants, you know,
- 29:18Speaker 1: like tights.
- 29:18Speaker 4: Yeah, they would sell those like just a brother around
- 29:21Speaker 4: the gym. That's yeah, yeah, look at the stick.
- 29:24Speaker 1: But holy cow. So there were some some repaints that
- 29:28Speaker 1: I personally don't remember at all in the United I
- 29:31Speaker 1: remember them coming later in UK, but apparently they was
- 29:35Speaker 1: released in the US. I personally don't remember these ever.
- 29:38Speaker 4: Saw them, childhood memories of anyone having these, seeing them whatsoever.
- 29:45Speaker 4: I mean, I believe they came though I have I
- 29:47Speaker 4: mean I have them both, but oh yeah, but I
- 29:50Speaker 4: believe they were available in the US.
- 29:51Speaker 1: I do believe that. Yeah, I'm not quite sure. Just
- 29:54Speaker 1: and it makes sense because Sting was so toy yet
- 29:57Speaker 1: he wasn't like Hogan who just had the red and yellow, right.
- 30:00Speaker 1: He had a lot of looks and this would be
- 30:01Speaker 1: a you know, an easy way to get some money
- 30:05Speaker 1: back on the mold. Just repaint it.
- 30:07Speaker 4: And I mean the guys in charge years later Samsu
- 30:10Speaker 4: toymakers did the same thing. So yes, it's obvious. So
- 30:15Speaker 4: which one is your favorite? I think I think the
- 30:17Speaker 4: Blues thing is my favorite one. Even though cool, it's
- 30:19Speaker 4: just so timeless.
- 30:21Speaker 3: Like Brian said, just like the iconic part of that figure,
- 30:25Speaker 3: not just being the icon in wrestling, but being an
- 30:28Speaker 3: icon in figures. Yes, makes that one the number one.
- 30:32Speaker 1: All right, let's go to the Total Package Lex Luger,
- 30:38Speaker 1: a total wrestling machine. That iconic picture of him giving
- 30:43Speaker 1: the gorilla press the flare on the packaging. Wow, what
- 30:47Speaker 1: a great, great figure, the Total Package Lex Luger.
- 30:51Speaker 4: This is actually one I got. I just re goot
- 30:54Speaker 4: this done. And this is one where I don't love
- 31:00Speaker 4: the pose. What I loved playing with this when I
- 31:03Speaker 4: was a kid.
- 31:04Speaker 1: I wish he was doing a double bye to do
- 31:06Speaker 1: like a torture I rack or the forearm when he
- 31:09Speaker 1: jumps the WWE.
- 31:11Speaker 4: I guess there's at this time that's not like the
- 31:14Speaker 4: moves he did, right, but he does like a grilla press.
- 31:17Speaker 1: Yeah, well this is great for a double DDT. Yeah,
- 31:21Speaker 1: I mean that's pretty sweet. Though a pile driver he
- 31:23Speaker 1: can do. He it looks like he's flexing like in
- 31:27Speaker 1: like the MA musculator.
- 31:29Speaker 4: The back literally says favorite holds, human torture, rack, backbreaker,
- 31:33Speaker 4: power slam. He can't really do the back I guess
- 31:37Speaker 4: he could do the backbreaker and the power slam. I
- 31:38Speaker 4: would make that up. I'd just put the guy on
- 31:40Speaker 4: his shoulder, you know. Oh you think that kind of
- 31:43Speaker 4: power slam? Okay, I'm a daby boy.
- 31:46Speaker 1: Yeah. The likeness is good, No, so good. I just
- 31:49Speaker 1: think he's maybe not jacked enough, but he is kind
- 31:53Speaker 1: of lean during this EPP possibly. Yeah, look at that
- 31:56Speaker 1: young photo of the total package.
- 31:59Speaker 4: But again, uh, someone that you know eventually made his
- 32:02Speaker 4: way to w WF in the early nineties and you
- 32:04Speaker 4: already got him. That's like super exciting, you know, ready
- 32:07Speaker 4: to switch.
- 32:08Speaker 1: Him on over? I mean, yeah, so you Luger by months, right,
- 32:13Speaker 1: so you can have these dream matches Sting vers Hogan
- 32:17Speaker 1: or if you want to play by the rules and
- 32:20Speaker 1: only use who's on the roster, you can wait until
- 32:22Speaker 1: Sting you know, noll S thing never comes. You can
- 32:25Speaker 1: wait for Flair to jump ship. You can have Luger,
- 32:27Speaker 1: but you have to have Luger go to the WBF
- 32:30Speaker 1: first and then he comes in.
- 32:32Speaker 4: You know, was six I was going to debut the Luger,
- 32:37Speaker 4: but then I decided, now he should have a WBF
- 32:39Speaker 4: run before.
- 32:39Speaker 1: You gotta get you gotta get guys like Arnold, you know,
- 32:42Speaker 1: do WBF. You know, get some job a he man.
- 32:46Speaker 1: Who else can you use like a stallone Rambo have
- 32:48Speaker 1: the WBF and then he comes He gets to the
- 32:50Speaker 1: car accident or motorcycle accident, and then he comes over.
- 32:53Speaker 1: You know, sounds like Bob Cardona's fed. You put him
- 32:56Speaker 1: on that that terminator or motorcycle gets an accident a
- 33:00Speaker 1: couple of months off, and then he comes to WSRO.
- 33:05Speaker 1: I'm gonna do some figure photography you think of Joe
- 33:07Speaker 1: grad will be like Sting versus Luger, WCW. But then
- 33:10Speaker 1: he goes to WBF and he's there with arm and
- 33:12Speaker 1: he man. But then he gets in that T two motorcycle.
- 33:15Speaker 1: G it's an accident and then comes in put in
- 33:18Speaker 1: your pocket for But again there's also a prototype shown,
- 33:25Speaker 1: different deco, way better belt of course, just a different
- 33:28Speaker 1: shade of blue, uh, with some black laces. I do
- 33:32Speaker 1: appreciate the black laces. But the figure we have now
- 33:35Speaker 1: is just so iconic to me, right, and I'm sure
- 33:38Speaker 1: lex has worn white with white lace.
- 33:41Speaker 4: Obviously Sting is the most timeless. I think Luga would
- 33:43Speaker 4: be like the number two one in this whole line,
- 33:45Speaker 4: like I go, I go Flare, I go flair number two,
- 33:48Speaker 4: I'm going.
- 33:49Speaker 1: Lug to all right. Well, next up is one half
- 33:53Speaker 1: of the Steiner Brothers, the dog Faced Gremlin. Rick Steiner
- 33:57Speaker 1: again has that NWA packaging on the original six. Look
- 34:00Speaker 1: at that dog faced the pit Bull of w c
- 34:03Speaker 1: W right there.
- 34:05Speaker 4: I loved this figure when I was a kid. It
- 34:07Speaker 4: was very fun to play with. I think this is great.
- 34:10Speaker 4: He's down in that wrestling position right there. He's got
- 34:13Speaker 4: the head gear that to me, he's at that mumchi again.
- 34:16Speaker 4: These are these tech TEWO thousands from the Wrestling figure
- 34:20Speaker 4: workshops are not official, but I have him on there.
- 34:22Speaker 1: Look at that he's got a tattoo. Look at that
- 34:25Speaker 1: tat baby, which is crazy for the time. Right. Yeah,
- 34:29Speaker 1: it was really only Earthquake. Shango and Sean have tats
- 34:34Speaker 1: the whole run bam bam bam. Yeah. I thought it
- 34:39Speaker 1: was great, perfect bulldog maneuver. You can hit the bulldog. Yep.
- 34:43Speaker 4: There he is purple paint pen on this bad boy.
- 34:48Speaker 4: His face is so suplex that pose pretty pretty perfect.
- 34:53Speaker 3: Yeah, it's really awesome.
- 34:55Speaker 1: I love that.
- 34:56Speaker 4: You know, he's an amateur wrestler. He's in that awesome
- 34:57Speaker 4: amateur wrestling pose. That's makes this figure so timeless.
- 35:01Speaker 1: Man, and they got those jackets on. Makes me think
- 35:05Speaker 1: that those Motel ultimates could be WCW as well. I
- 35:08Speaker 1: tell you that, Yeah, Dad, literally both, they're both to
- 35:11Speaker 1: definitely both. Yeah, great figure, great likeness in my opinion.
- 35:15Speaker 1: He's got the fingers taped up, he's got the boots,
- 35:18Speaker 1: I dig it.
- 35:19Speaker 4: Yeah, I do appreciate Rick getting in his full gear
- 35:23Speaker 4: for the reference shots and consider with the right.
- 35:27Speaker 1: I like that he's get the head gear strapped up. Right,
- 35:30Speaker 1: it's a great likeness of the dog face Gremlin. Can't
- 35:35Speaker 1: talk about Rick Steiner without talking about Oh look at that.
- 35:39Speaker 1: Let's talk about this prototype first with way more deco
- 35:42Speaker 1: and that's much nice. And that's the if we get
- 35:46Speaker 1: back to me, that's the picture on the packaging there.
- 35:50Speaker 1: Ym m right, Yeah, so there's Rick Steiner slightly more deco.
- 35:58Speaker 1: I'm fine with what we got, but sure that one
- 36:00Speaker 1: is definitely more toy. So now let's talk about his brother,
- 36:07Speaker 1: Scott Steiner pre big pop up pump. There he is
- 36:12Speaker 1: Scott Steiner looking jack great like generic pose can do
- 36:16Speaker 1: it all super all.
- 36:19Speaker 4: Fair figures play with when I was a kid, Yeah,
- 36:21Speaker 4: me too, And I like would give Scott such a
- 36:25Speaker 4: push way before the big pump pump run me too,
- 36:29Speaker 4: because I just thought he was awesome.
- 36:30Speaker 1: A big Sonner line, no sinner eyes, but big Signer
- 36:34Speaker 1: line right there from.
- 36:35Speaker 3: Scott's side, like I said, like the arm is up
- 36:38Speaker 3: and you can really do hold that vertical suplex or
- 36:40Speaker 3: whatever kind of crazy suplex he was gonna do. And
- 36:44Speaker 3: then later on when I learned about the Steiner screwdriver,
- 36:47Speaker 3: which is the craziest.
- 36:49Speaker 1: Oh yeah, guys, I just had a crazy epiphany. Bro
- 36:52Speaker 1: Steiner in sharpie. Bro, that's no, it's a it's a
- 36:56Speaker 1: dark blue paint. Look at that. Okay, let's say a
- 36:57Speaker 1: sharpie to me.
- 36:58Speaker 3: No, come on, brother, what's your epiphany?
- 37:01Speaker 4: Pal, I'm reading the back of this packaging. It's his
- 37:04Speaker 4: favorite holds Frankensteiner s Diiner line. You're ready for this
- 37:12Speaker 4: unless I'm an idiot. Tilt the world, suplex, Tilt the world.
- 37:19Speaker 4: I thought it was tilt the world, isn't it? I
- 37:23Speaker 4: think it Tilt the World. I think maybe it started
- 37:27Speaker 4: as tilt the World, and now we call it tilt
- 37:29Speaker 4: the World. Tilt the World is way uh way better.
- 37:36Speaker 4: It makes a lot more sense. I mean, I'm thinking
- 37:38Speaker 4: about what's tilt the world, Tilt the world, Tilt the world.
- 37:44Speaker 4: Maybe this is the orches of what it was really called,
- 37:46Speaker 4: and we've kind of just brothered it over the years.
- 37:49Speaker 1: Wow, Tilt the World. Wow, Tilt the World.
- 37:55Speaker 4: And you could also see here in that top that
- 37:58Speaker 4: this is what it was really single. It's really supposed
- 38:01Speaker 4: to have that.
- 38:01Speaker 1: We had that uh, we have that prototype right here.
- 38:03Speaker 1: Check them out there. It is actually this is whoa
- 38:08Speaker 1: that's different than this even because that stripes and this
- 38:11Speaker 1: is like a cheeter leopard or something. Wow, this is
- 38:16Speaker 1: the story ye two brothers, Rick and it Scott Tilt
- 38:20Speaker 1: the World again.
- 38:22Speaker 3: So I just looked it up. Tilted whorl is a ride,
- 38:26Speaker 3: a specific ride, so it is tilted World then, and
- 38:31Speaker 3: and it's like a flippy ride.
- 38:33Speaker 4: So so maybe ravishing Robert got the copy wrong huh
- 38:37Speaker 4: on this. That's also it wrote Gloup Packaging in nineteen ninety.
- 38:41Speaker 3: But Tilt the worlds were built and manufactured all over
- 38:45Speaker 3: the country. Started in nineteen twenty six. Tilt the whorl,
- 38:49Speaker 3: Tilt the world?
- 38:50Speaker 1: So I think it is I think this is wrong.
- 38:52Speaker 1: Then what do you think the world?
- 38:54Speaker 3: What the hell is tilt the world?
- 38:56Speaker 1: Well, you're tilting his world. The world is off, yeah,
- 38:59Speaker 1: off tilt. Let's talk about the belts for a second. Steer.
- 39:03Speaker 1: The belts were originally supposed to be almost like Mattel style,
- 39:06Speaker 1: like kind of like what's what's the terminology?
- 39:10Speaker 4: The way that always looks like we made this? But yeah, yeah,
- 39:14Speaker 4: I like the belts way better this way. Even though
- 39:16Speaker 4: they're not more accurate. It's just easier to keep them on.
- 39:20Speaker 4: Even Mattel to these days, to this day, it's impossible
- 39:23Speaker 4: to shop those babies up.
- 39:26Speaker 1: The butt. But we talk about guys, jump a ship.
- 39:28Speaker 1: You bring the Steiners over your Hazmo fick red. I
- 39:32Speaker 1: also use this Scott Steiner as ConA crush. ConA crush
- 39:39Speaker 1: comes over, you know, because with my imagination I would
- 39:43Speaker 1: use guys as different people. Why didn't you just use
- 39:45Speaker 1: crushes crush? Well, until I got ConA crush demolition crush,
- 39:51Speaker 1: I can't use demolition.
- 39:53Speaker 4: You can't not the same like that same man with
- 39:57Speaker 4: the same name. Actually, yeah, that militia crush right.
- 40:01Speaker 1: But great, great Scottie Steiner, I dig it. So so
- 40:05Speaker 1: there's the first assortment right there. Again. I remember them
- 40:09Speaker 1: all coming out at once, but these six certainly the
- 40:12Speaker 1: only six that had the NWA version. It's Rick Flair,
- 40:15Speaker 1: Double a R and Anderson Sting total package LIKEX Luger
- 40:18Speaker 1: and the Steiner brothers. Let's get to so I'm.
- 40:21Speaker 4: Thinking like this probably was the assortment because these are
- 40:24Speaker 4: like the sixth most common too. Yes, so this was
- 40:28Speaker 4: probably the like the anchor case, you know that.
- 40:32Speaker 1: I mean, like I just said, the only ones that
- 40:34Speaker 1: have the NW packaging. So they were definitely released twice.
- 40:38Speaker 1: Also another smoking gun of evidence. Yes, all right, well
- 40:41Speaker 1: let's go to the rest of the six. First up,
- 40:45Speaker 1: we have Barry Wyndham. Yeah, only living member of the
- 40:52Speaker 1: Globe mino cards that I don't have autographed, decent likeness.
- 40:58Speaker 1: I think I love this figure too nice. Actually got
- 41:01Speaker 1: these nice cowboy boots again somebody, I mean I used
- 41:06Speaker 1: him in my other think fat because he was in
- 41:09Speaker 1: WWF Kina around this time. No, when the window maker
- 41:12Speaker 1: runs like he leaves to do, are you talking about
- 41:16Speaker 1: or stalker, no, no widow maker, right, So like I could,
- 41:20Speaker 1: I could justify him coming in because he was already there, right,
- 41:23Speaker 1: I mean even like aren't like you think about it,
- 41:24Speaker 1: there's so much crossover. Arm and Barry were just there
- 41:27Speaker 1: and now they're not. You know, great post nice in his.
- 41:34Speaker 3: Blood is a great post that that's perfect for the
- 41:39Speaker 3: swing for the line and duck.
- 41:41Speaker 4: So it's weird because we I mean, we talked about
- 41:44Speaker 4: it that these were rushed to market, but these poses
- 41:48Speaker 4: are like perice in a lot of ways, right, A
- 41:52Speaker 4: lot of playability for something that doesn't move.
- 41:55Speaker 3: Right in the same way. L j N's were all
- 41:57Speaker 3: pretty good at least el Jan's moved. These didn't. But
- 42:01Speaker 3: I still, man, look, think about the punch you could
- 42:03Speaker 3: do with this in the corner.
- 42:06Speaker 1: The big lariot and has some figures, you know, Rick
- 42:09Speaker 1: Rude style, where like the opposite thought was put into
- 42:11Speaker 1: them where it's like you can't do a thing with
- 42:13Speaker 1: these things. Not the most toyatic in the plain black,
- 42:17Speaker 1: but the cowboy boots are nice. Nice detail on the
- 42:20Speaker 1: cowboy boots. Check that out. I just weirdly liked this
- 42:24Speaker 1: figure when I was a kid though for some reason,
- 42:25Speaker 1: I don't know. I did too. The prototype has way
- 42:28Speaker 1: more detail on the boots, but I'm fine with what
- 42:30Speaker 1: we got.
- 42:31Speaker 3: Yep.
- 42:32Speaker 1: I think actually, look at that, it looks way more
- 42:34Speaker 1: like Barry with the correct hair color. Like Barry was blonde.
- 42:37Speaker 1: But that looks the way the paint is done on
- 42:39Speaker 1: that prototype looks better to me. Yeah, but then this
- 42:41Speaker 1: ponytail is like more blonde.
- 42:43Speaker 3: Yeah, it's crazy.
- 42:44Speaker 1: The highlights, yeah, there are there are highlights if you
- 42:46Speaker 1: can tell here. So they did it. They were doing
- 42:48Speaker 1: highlights in nineteen ninety nineteen ninety one.
- 42:50Speaker 4: We should also acknowledge that Barry, Rick, Arn and Sid
- 42:55Speaker 4: are the four horsemen when these drop, which is a
- 42:58Speaker 4: big deal.
- 42:58Speaker 1: Which is a huge deal, right, Like you're getting some
- 43:01Speaker 1: top top heels here, but you're getting a full faction
- 43:05Speaker 1: the way you know it's supposed to be, which is
- 43:06Speaker 1: a pretty cool thing. Yeah, So I like that figure.
- 43:11Speaker 1: Great figure. Next up, speaking of four horsemen, Sid Vicious, unbelievable,
- 43:19Speaker 1: a six ' nine mountain of muscle. This figure feeler
- 43:25Speaker 1: of the world. I will say this.
- 43:27Speaker 4: It always bothered me, even when I was like five
- 43:29Speaker 4: or six, that his quads and his upper body are
- 43:32Speaker 4: not the same color.
- 43:33Speaker 1: Yes, can you tell? Yes? Which as a kid I
- 43:35Speaker 1: didn't understand was how they made the toy.
- 43:37Speaker 3: Today's years old?
- 43:39Speaker 1: Oh really, h love this figure autographs.
- 43:45Speaker 4: This was signed unfortunately, I would say about two weeks
- 43:49Speaker 4: before his passing, which is crazy.
- 43:52Speaker 1: Look at this perfect for the power bamb Oh my god,
- 43:55Speaker 1: he could do it all boom.
- 43:57Speaker 4: Even if you look at the photo on the packaging,
- 44:00Speaker 4: he's almost like in that pose. Yes, his famous like
- 44:04Speaker 4: sid kind of fire up there, like I mean awesome.
- 44:08Speaker 4: If you take a good look at that sculpt, it's
- 44:10Speaker 4: like unbelieved. It's so good, so good, and and something's
- 44:15Speaker 4: just got This was the hardest one to get for me.
- 44:17Speaker 4: This was like the last one to get in my collection.
- 44:21Speaker 4: Now he wasn't originally going to be posed like that.
- 44:23Speaker 4: Here are some other photos of what they were thinking
- 44:26Speaker 4: about going with. The one they went with is way better.
- 44:29Speaker 4: The other ones looked too bulky.
- 44:31Speaker 1: What's going on those things? Can Kung Bundy figures?
- 44:34Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 44:35Speaker 1: Uh, this is perfect Again I sound like a broken record.
- 44:37Speaker 1: But somebody else who can jump ship to your hasbrus
- 44:41Speaker 1: and I will say I believe this one is better
- 44:44Speaker 1: than the has But hasbro he just was like a
- 44:47Speaker 1: regular guy. Right this This was felt more epic. He's
- 44:50Speaker 1: a monster, huge, great, great figure and you have the
- 44:56Speaker 1: entire four horsemen. There it is right there. Next up
- 44:59Speaker 1: is the line Ron Simmons from Doom. Awesome. This is
- 45:06Speaker 1: where it gets a little crazy. We'll talk about it.
- 45:08Speaker 3: These are my favorite just for these reasons.
- 45:11Speaker 1: But we talked about poses and and and poses. You
- 45:14Speaker 1: can't do much with this this. You can't do much
- 45:17Speaker 1: with this pose right here. Of all the putting over,
- 45:19Speaker 1: we just did this one.
- 45:20Speaker 3: Kind of all on a second. You got the great
- 45:23Speaker 3: shoulder tax.
- 45:24Speaker 1: It's a great tackle, but you're not gonna have a
- 45:27Speaker 1: full match of tackles Mark Baker. Yeah, his arm just
- 45:34Speaker 1: being attached to him isn't the best. Look at this.
- 45:39Speaker 1: Ron Simmons Hall of Fame, first Black World chap. Oh,
- 45:42Speaker 1: that's nice inscription on this.
- 45:45Speaker 3: That's really cool.
- 45:46Speaker 1: Badass drives his opponent to the mat. See to me,
- 45:50Speaker 1: like when this figure comes out, like the Doom run
- 45:54Speaker 1: is over and he singles right, so, Ron Simmons, It
- 45:57Speaker 1: makes you wish the line kept going.
- 46:00Speaker 4: We could have got like an updated Trunks you know,
- 46:02Speaker 4: babyface World Champion.
- 46:04Speaker 1: Ron would be pretty sick. Yeah, and you know he's
- 46:07Speaker 1: in his patented gym clothes. We'll talk about that in
- 46:11Speaker 1: a little bit. If you can't just have Ron Simmons,
- 46:14Speaker 1: you need to have his partner. Butch Reid takes opponents down.
- 46:21Speaker 1: Butcher Reid, give me a second. Here, we got him
- 46:25Speaker 1: right here. Good sculpt right there, looks great again in
- 46:29Speaker 1: the gym pans.
- 46:31Speaker 3: Think his hand should be holding something.
- 46:34Speaker 1: Yeah, it's almost like a c grip. And again somebody
- 46:37Speaker 1: who was in the WWF at one time, so he
- 46:40Speaker 1: kind of you know. Now, let's look at these Nike
- 46:42Speaker 1: swooshes right there.
- 46:45Speaker 3: But you can see the swoosh on the shoe?
- 46:47Speaker 1: Which one do you have?
- 46:49Speaker 4: Brian, I purposely wanted the swoosh, but also, you know,
- 46:55Speaker 4: Butch has passed on. I was fortunate enough to get
- 46:57Speaker 4: a swoosh men on card photographed wow from eBay uh I.
- 47:04Speaker 4: So I acquired a collection of these that kick started
- 47:07Speaker 4: this whole collection.
- 47:08Speaker 1: Okay, and that was it.
- 47:11Speaker 4: This was kind of like the focal point of it
- 47:12Speaker 4: for me because obviously Butch is not around to sign
- 47:15Speaker 4: anymore of these. So it was a big deal for
- 47:17Speaker 4: me to acquire this clothesline power Slam motto.
- 47:23Speaker 1: We bust heads. I don't think the likeness is good.
- 47:28Speaker 1: The likeness is the best. Look at look at the
- 47:31Speaker 1: pants he's wearing. It's almost more more design right there
- 47:34Speaker 1: on the pants, almost Zuper style.
- 47:37Speaker 4: Also, you can see Clear's day in the photo up
- 47:41Speaker 4: here on this the crossout that he's you know, in tights,
- 47:44Speaker 4: not Jim.
- 47:45Speaker 1: There were the black tights with the tape around the arms.
- 47:49Speaker 1: Really hit the spot on these two. I mean, damn.
- 47:52Speaker 1: So let's talk about the Nike thrust that you know obviously,
- 47:55Speaker 1: why that had to be removed? Well, no, Nike approved it, right, No,
- 48:01Speaker 1: they did not. Nike swoosh had to be removed. Now
- 48:05Speaker 1: why was the Nike there? Because it was on the
- 48:08Speaker 1: reference shots?
- 48:09Speaker 3: Okay, look.
- 48:12Speaker 4: Even okay, this is how to a t These were
- 48:15Speaker 4: followed crons are like high waters.
- 48:18Speaker 1: Yeah, so was the figure right? So like they took
- 48:22Speaker 1: no creative liberties with these. They just I do like
- 48:25Speaker 1: that they taped up at least, But they's like, why
- 48:29Speaker 1: doesn't even make sense? I I I don't know. Maybe
- 48:32Speaker 1: they didn't know what this was for. I mean, there's
- 48:36Speaker 1: no way they were told, hey, guys, we don't want
- 48:38Speaker 1: you in the Plaine. Black tights your your trademark tights.
- 48:42Speaker 1: Can you put on your gym clothes? Right? Like were
- 48:46Speaker 1: they say, Butcher's nikes there? Oh my god, this is crazy.
- 48:50Speaker 3: They're just like, you know, maybe they have to lose
- 48:52Speaker 3: or something, so they're like pissed off and they're like, hey,
- 48:54Speaker 3: you got to go take these pics and they're like.
- 48:55Speaker 1: Ah, marks of they're booboo facing because they had to
- 48:58Speaker 1: put somebody over that day. Oh my god. Yeah, I
- 49:01Speaker 1: guess we'll We'll never know never. Uh. The collector at
- 49:04Speaker 1: the collectoraty has a lot of great stuff that we
- 49:06Speaker 1: we we took information from him. But man to me, like,
- 49:10Speaker 1: I'm fine with him being like this, but I kinda.
- 49:13Speaker 4: They've been like this for thirty five years in my
- 49:17Speaker 4: head and in my memories and in my play, so
- 49:19Speaker 4: like it's kind of is what it is, right. I
- 49:22Speaker 4: don't even fantasize what they should have looked like.
- 49:25Speaker 3: Yeah, but just think about just think about Mattel Release
- 49:32Speaker 3: like miss in his back stage clothes, like.
- 49:36Speaker 4: Even start making guys like mem w W was pushing
- 49:38Speaker 4: tap out. Yeah, miss tap Out.
- 49:42Speaker 1: Honestly, as a kid, I didn't blink an eye at this.
- 49:45Speaker 1: Neither same I don't know why I didn't question it.
- 49:48Speaker 1: I just I didn't. Yeah, I didn't question it one bit.
- 49:51Speaker 3: Did you think, like, Okay, I have street clothes Doom or.
- 49:56Speaker 1: Wrestling what they wrestled in? I didn't like. I don't
- 49:58Speaker 1: know why it didn't like not for years later did
- 50:01Speaker 1: not bother me. So there it is Ron Simmons, butch
- 50:07Speaker 1: Reed Doom. Next up, guys, this one was the hardest
- 50:12Speaker 1: one for me to find. The Lion Brian Pillman, high
- 50:15Speaker 1: flying and dangerous. What an iconic figure. And the Bengals
- 50:22Speaker 1: colors one of my favorite figures. Ti flying crossbody.
- 50:27Speaker 3: Yeah, super toyatic. Dare I say, one of the most
- 50:31Speaker 3: toyotic galoops.
- 50:33Speaker 1: Dude crossbody off the top the Bengals tights.
- 50:39Speaker 4: I mean at this time, I'm like such a boomeris
- 50:40Speaker 4: Ias in Mark and Bengals and like this just all
- 50:44Speaker 4: has just such early nineties nostalgia for me. Like I said,
- 50:48Speaker 4: I was being a Mark for my own name.
- 50:52Speaker 1: I love it. What are his signature moves? There?
- 50:54Speaker 4: Signature moves flying body press, which is exactly the Posey's
- 51:01Speaker 4: in right, true, yep, yep, yep. I dig that this
- 51:06Speaker 4: figure is like case fresh ooh like beauty but obviously
- 51:11Speaker 4: not signed, not signed, and I don't know if I've
- 51:13Speaker 4: ever seen a sign one that I believe to be real. Definitely,
- 51:21Speaker 4: Brian Pillman no longer with us, does jump ship. It's
- 51:23Speaker 4: probably my like number.
- 51:25Speaker 1: One dream get huh A sign glob.
- 51:31Speaker 4: A sign globe Pillman like, if you this goes, even
- 51:35Speaker 4: though the hass ones I don't have, I think a
- 51:38Speaker 4: signed Pilman glob would be my number one dream get Now.
- 51:41Speaker 1: You said SID was the hard one for you to get,
- 51:42Speaker 1: Brian Pillman was a hard one for me to get,
- 51:44Speaker 1: so I'm remembering now. I think SID was like the
- 51:46Speaker 1: last one for me to get. I absolutely love this figure.
- 51:50Speaker 1: It's great the underdog. You need that book. That babyface
- 51:54Speaker 1: kind of like a rookie.
- 51:55Speaker 4: The quote on the back here says, it's not the
- 51:57Speaker 4: size of the dog in the fight that matters, but
- 51:59Speaker 4: the size of the fight in the dog.
- 52:02Speaker 1: That's great. Thanks Brian, and he eventually jumped ship the
- 52:05Speaker 1: way later. You're you're happy playing with these anymore? I'm
- 52:09Speaker 1: playing with these anymore? All right, let's go last, but
- 52:12Speaker 1: not least in this assortment. I think the plainest figure
- 52:15Speaker 1: of the bunch, Tom's ink.
- 52:18Speaker 3: The z Man I would have been if I was him,
- 52:21Speaker 3: would have been real pissed off about that picture in
- 52:23Speaker 3: the back. Why jacked, dude, He's just like, oh the
- 52:27Speaker 3: main thing, Yeah horrible? Why'd you pick that?
- 52:32Speaker 1: Yeah? Tom's inc the z Man decent boats, very generic.
- 52:35Speaker 1: Played with this a ton though, Like you know what
- 52:38Speaker 1: he was like, Uh, he's like the varsity athletes. He
- 52:43Speaker 1: was able to take a loss and keep going, you know,
- 52:45Speaker 1: right right? He was valuable to my fake fast You
- 52:47Speaker 1: need you need, you need a hammer head you need? Yeah,
- 52:50Speaker 1: I woudn't even call him a hammerhead. Also, I mean
- 52:53Speaker 1: we'll get to it. All these were available in tupacs,
- 52:54Speaker 1: so like in my childhood play those they were teams.
- 52:58Speaker 1: You know who's he in the two pac with Pillman?
- 53:01Speaker 1: Oh so you got them at his two packs. I
- 53:03Speaker 1: don't recall ever seeing the two packs obviously since I have, right,
- 53:07Speaker 1: but as a kid, I don't remember seeing it.
- 53:09Speaker 4: I remember them more than the singles on the shelves. Now,
- 53:13Speaker 4: the singles are so much much easier to come by
- 53:17Speaker 4: that they're the ones that you know, hold true of
- 53:20Speaker 4: my memories.
- 53:20Speaker 1: Yeah, so these come out ninety one. Obviously they're started
- 53:23Speaker 1: in nineteen ninety has the nineteen ninety on the ass.
- 53:27Speaker 1: But guys, what what do you think? Tom zinks motto
- 53:33Speaker 1: is room eight hundred? What is it? Stay single? I
- 53:44Speaker 1: was close, I was close. That's wild was close. Sickly
- 53:52Speaker 1: child's toy. I kine they should have put the Rick
- 53:54Speaker 1: Flair quote from the front of that. A real killer
- 53:58Speaker 1: with the ladies. They he must.
- 54:01Speaker 3: Have clearly he just had a call with his ex
- 54:03Speaker 3: wife a ton of money. They're like, hey, Tom, what's
- 54:07Speaker 3: your quote?
- 54:08Speaker 1: Also definitely didn't wear his pads and his reference shots
- 54:12Speaker 1: right there is a a prototype that shows just all white.
- 54:18Speaker 1: The likeness looks two. They said, I'm glad that they
- 54:22Speaker 1: updated because Zenk is a handsome jack man. Just asked
- 54:25Speaker 1: Tony Shavani, he knows.
- 54:27Speaker 4: So the only thing I even really remember Tom zank
- 54:30Speaker 4: four is at this time, especially as being on that
- 54:32Speaker 4: episode of Family Feud.
- 54:35Speaker 1: I remember being in WWF for the Canam connection, and
- 54:39Speaker 1: then I was a big WCW Fanily, I just love
- 54:43Speaker 1: like their pay per views, Like to me, they like
- 54:44Speaker 1: crazy pay per views like the the the War Games,
- 54:48Speaker 1: or they had battle Bowl, the Lethal Lottery or the
- 54:50Speaker 1: Chamber of Horror like what is this stuff? Yeah? I
- 54:54Speaker 1: love it was great for a kid, Like Battle Bowls
- 54:56Speaker 1: the coolest thing ever for me. Like you take heels
- 54:59Speaker 1: of babyface, you make up, you make random teams, and
- 55:01Speaker 1: you have a battle royal at the end, Like whoever
- 55:03Speaker 1: made battleable to lead the lottery? Isn't that all dusty ideas?
- 55:07Speaker 1: Was playing with toys had a fig fit in my opinion.
- 55:11Speaker 1: Let's talk about that. There's the second assortment right there,
- 55:14Speaker 1: the six right there, we got Barry, sid Doom, Pillman,
- 55:18Speaker 1: and ze Man out of the twelve. What do you think,
- 55:22Speaker 1: who's your number one?
- 55:24Speaker 4: I mean, Pillman is my number one because he's my favorite.
- 55:27Speaker 4: But that's the thing is just so like iconic in
- 55:31Speaker 4: the wrestling figure space. It's timeless. It's I agree. I'm
- 55:34Speaker 4: going with the Stinger Marcus.
- 55:41Speaker 3: Uh yeah, yeah, I'm gonna have to do that too
- 55:43Speaker 3: for sure.
- 55:45Speaker 1: Now over Flair, well, I.
- 55:48Speaker 3: Was gonna say, arn is like more important to like
- 55:52Speaker 3: just more important to me as a figure. Yeah so
- 55:56Speaker 3: maybe that I that's like my favorite, but like I
- 56:00Speaker 3: think is the best.
- 56:01Speaker 1: Yeah. Okay, Well, let's take a quick look at these
- 56:03Speaker 1: two packs. The tag teams. We're not gonna spend much
- 56:05Speaker 1: time on I'll of course, you got the Steyner Brothers,
- 56:08Speaker 1: the tag Team, Uh, tag Team, dream Rick and Scott
- 56:11Speaker 1: Steiner again, same things. These are just re releases. Uh
- 56:16Speaker 1: yet the Doom again with the tag team titles. I'm sorry.
- 56:19Speaker 1: With the ww tows, I guess it appears like tag
- 56:21Speaker 1: team titles, but they're all the same time. We also
- 56:25Speaker 1: got dudes with Attitudes, Lex Luger and Sting, and then
- 56:30Speaker 1: there were different versions with the with the other stings,
- 56:34Speaker 1: which is crazy to me to think that these are available.
- 56:37Speaker 1: But again I don't recall any of these. So there
- 56:42Speaker 1: we have it. I mean, of course, oh I could
- 56:45Speaker 1: we forget this two of the four Horsemen generals, Mark,
- 56:50Speaker 1: you need this two pack.
- 56:52Speaker 3: I've just thinking about it, and if I do see
- 56:54Speaker 3: it in a good condition, I'm I'm It's on my
- 56:57Speaker 3: list for sure.
- 56:58Speaker 1: I think it absolutely comes around. It's not that scarce.
- 57:01Speaker 3: I've seen it, Yeah for sure. I feel like I
- 57:04Speaker 3: see it at Toyyo every time. Really, somebody's got it
- 57:07Speaker 3: at Toyo. Yeah, for sure.
- 57:09Speaker 1: I think that they're great two packs just for me personally,
- 57:12Speaker 1: I don't need them. I have them loose.
- 57:14Speaker 3: I love the size and the collar on these packages, Like,
- 57:17Speaker 3: look at the Steiners, like it just looks so fun.
- 57:19Speaker 1: The signers look great. I feel like it'd be really
- 57:21Speaker 1: tough to find these in good conditions. It is, so
- 57:26Speaker 1: there we go, and I made up that everyone had
- 57:28Speaker 1: a two pack. By the way, yeah, Pillman and Zanc
- 57:31Speaker 1: don't have a seap. In my mind, you can get
- 57:33Speaker 1: you get sit and Barry or everyone like this. No, no, see,
- 57:37Speaker 1: that's why I love these episodes, you learn. I guess
- 57:39Speaker 1: this is why I like paired them in my mind
- 57:43Speaker 1: because it was always two two internet right, yeah, all right,
- 57:47Speaker 1: well let's see what's next. This episode of the Major

- 58:56Speaker 1: just got just brand new for you. Show us the
- 58:58Speaker 1: toys r US. Do you think the sticker says towis
- 59:01Speaker 1: r US fourteen nine, Little More seventeen ninety nine. Wow,
- 59:07Speaker 1: that's crazy olable tax here's an item now, flying springboard, step,
- 59:15Speaker 1: super slam, corner posts, catapulting sign and it had the cage,
- 59:20Speaker 1: which is a big deal. This is very rare instance
- 59:23Speaker 1: that I'm going to say here where this was way
- 59:26Speaker 1: better than the Haswa ring. Well, I think the action
- 59:29Speaker 1: parts were, but it would get too scuffed up, of course.
- 59:33Speaker 4: All right, sure, but you could mess up a Haswell
- 59:35Speaker 4: ring too. No, you can mess up the sticker, but
- 59:38Speaker 4: not the blue Okay, that's just as bad, Way more fun,
- 59:43Speaker 4: way more toyatic. I had way more and I don't
- 59:48Speaker 4: even like really remember seeing in the stores to like
- 59:50Speaker 4: want it to get it. But my friend Jake Rubin
- 59:53Speaker 4: had an every time I go over his house. We
- 59:55Speaker 4: play with all you know hazros and glube guys and
- 59:58Speaker 4: mixed wall up and I'm like this thing rule he
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: has a cage a platform to jump off the top,
- 1:00:03Speaker 4: like to make it so much easier.
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: I don't know, man, it was just like, here is
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: a loose version to show you, guys. The bell right
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: here has a little hammer with a little hammer. Dude. Yeah,
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: look at that.
- 1:00:14Speaker 4: That's a that's good for outside interference. Man, it's a
- 1:00:18Speaker 4: far an object right there.
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: It's got this launch. You put the guys in the
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: steps and I don't know if it works, but it
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: used to work.
- 1:00:25Speaker 3: Maybe it doesn't work.
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: It should, it should launch the guys up. Technical difficulties
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: here yet the top rope launch thinking, which is nuts.
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: Cage was nuts. I mean one of these corners go
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: back is oh yeah, one of the corners like slingshots
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: the guy. So but like you can even tell just
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: having guys standing there for a couple of years, it's
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: all scuffed.
- 1:00:48Speaker 4: That makes me a little cheakode. I took a like
- 1:00:51Speaker 4: eight x ten top loader and cut it nearly down.
- 1:00:56Speaker 4: That's what I'm gonna do with this next Yeah, And
- 1:00:58Speaker 4: actually I do that with all my as well, in
- 1:01:00Speaker 4: my glue ring, just just in case because it was
- 1:01:02Speaker 4: too old.
- 1:01:03Speaker 3: You're opening that new one that you bought.
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: Oh yeah, because I don't. I don't like these ropes.
- 1:01:07Speaker 4: Broski has some right magical period that the elasticity is
- 1:01:12Speaker 4: going to be good after.
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: Look how many times I had to tie the ropes around,
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: so they might have That's just that. Everyone's just like that.
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: Mine's like that too. Over there, Who's who's getting interviewed
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: over here? Robbie Kanoff might be. I honestly think it
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: might be.
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: By the way you said. So, hold on seventeen seventeen
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: ninety nine. Seventeen dollars in nineteen ninety one is forty
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: dollars today.
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: Oh wow, I thought it would be double that.
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: So, but how much is I gonna tell ring?
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: The cheap one is like twenty.
- 1:01:42Speaker 4: Twenty five ish, but this has a cage, right, so forty.
- 1:01:45Speaker 4: They don't have all these bells and whistles like this, literally.
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: True, And I like the action features like you didn't
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: have to use them, so it could be a regular
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: ring if you wanted to. That's what I'm saying. I
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: really try sure too.
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: The stink flying in the air.
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: Yeah, the red go to my friend's house to play
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: with this. I remember like it was yesterday. In the cage.
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: You can kind of make it work for a Hasbro
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: but not really, you know, like you have to. It
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: doesn't fit perfectly, but you can figure it out. You
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: can get creative. You put you've put I've never done that.
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: You've put this cage on your Hasbell ring.
- 1:02:18Speaker 4: It doesn't quite fit. You have to like, I'll take
- 1:02:22Speaker 4: a picture, well, because launch too. There's like a missing
- 1:02:24Speaker 4: piece of connecting it.
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: I'll try to if we can insert into the show,
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: I'll show you what it looks like on a Hasbro ring. Wow. Yeah,
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: but I didn't own this ring until maybe like when
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: we're doing this podcast. I had it as a kid,
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: and it was certainly not like everyone had the Hasbro
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: Blue ring, Right, That's what I'm saying, not this. No,
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: That's why I was so bad. My buddy had it.
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: I would I never owned it. I would love tone it.
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: You need it, but you gotta do it. Brian's aid
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: with the top loader. That's what I'm gonna do. Next
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: one is top loaded and protect protect that that canvas.
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: As you see in the prototype. It's also in the box.
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: The bell was gonna be a little different. It was
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: gonna have also yellow turnbuckle pads just slightly. You know.
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: That's what happens to the toy biz different protohip you
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: see it with the Rick prototype. But I like it is.
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: My only complaint was a little too low the hazard.
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: We had a little more height to it. Okay, I'll
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: give you that, but still way more fun to play
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: with though as a kid, it's definitely way more fun
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: to play with. I one agree. And the packaging looks nice.
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: That's a that's a nice toyetic. That's that's a center
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: piece to a collection. Like I have the box by
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: boxes all banged up, so it wasn't worth keeping it
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: in the box, you know what I'm saying. But there
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: it is. Let's see what's next from this Glube line.
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: We got the talking Boys fourteen inches tall and ready
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: to brawl. We'll quickly discuss these These are fucking weapons, okay, dang,
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: Like I don't I can't even see, like, like my
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: daughter's four, Like if she was playing with something like that,
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: I can't see her like bringing in places or counting it.
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: It's that heavy. Like, look, how big this fucking thing.
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: But it feels like a pile of lead. Yes, it
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: is very heavy. The head is squishy, but man, and
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: there is articulation. I will say that there's articulation. So
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: it's it's similar to the talking has Bro Hogan Warrior
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: in that sense, but like he can kick, he can move.
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: But like, yeah, it's crazy actually huge.
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: These are big fucking boys.
- 1:04:33Speaker 3: It's like a two up of a matel basic.
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's it's pretty damn cool. Essentially your glue
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: figure blown up, right, you know. So they're staying fourteen
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: inches tall and ready to brawl big man. It's it's
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: it's and like I can't convey how heavy these boys are.
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: They're heavy. I remember, like I think that same my
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: same Buddy Jack group, but maybe had like one or
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: two of these. I never own these. I never owned
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: the media. Yeah, we got total not jacked enough Flexi
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: Lexi not jacked enough total package lex Luger. Right here,
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: it looks better there, actually looks all right. They're very
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: nice figures and they they're very nice. Yeah, they're very cool.
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: If you have this displayed in the toy room, they
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: look great.
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: Yes, I just uh, yeah, a loose, which I believe
- 1:05:28Speaker 3: Brian got me as well.
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: And the original Luger prototype shows different arms, more jacked
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: up kind of arms. Belts nicer for sure. Man that
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: those arms will make it look a lot cooler. Yeah,
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: definitely a lot cooler. Uh. Next up in the line
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: was whoa you gotta have this mark there? I do?
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: Yes, I just said, Brian got it for me. I
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: have it loose, standing right next to my flare case.
- 1:05:52Speaker 3: It's great.
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: What I like about this is that Claire has the
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: shorter hair than the glop.
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: This is actually match the picture on the uh on
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: the pods.
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: And still he's still got that socks. I like, I'm
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: today's years old realizing this sock.
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: I feel like I've noticed the sock before as but
- 1:06:13Speaker 3: but never really like.
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: That's wild that that crossed over onto a fourteen inches.
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: The nature boy whoooo, what's his prototype? He got a
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: little prototype of different hands he was doing the chop,
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: he was doing the shop with Like those hands better too? Yeah,
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: the nature Boy. And last but not least there he
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: is here this Oh my god, I look at this
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: boy eester and the ruler said, justice, what a big boy.
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: I guess.
- 1:06:45Speaker 4: The only unfortunate thing is they're all the same scale,
- 1:06:47Speaker 4: and he should be bigger, he should be bigger.
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: But I'm fine with it. They're all nice, they're all
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: cool to display. As a kid, though, I don't think
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: you could have played with these. I mean they also
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: get like you can't bang them into each other. They
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: get no. Yeah, but they're so big you can't you
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: can't do anything. Nah. And they're heavy. They're heavy, like
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: you're like a pump plane with them. I have a
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: my shoulders little messed up. It was hard to show
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: it to the cap. How happy it is?
- 1:07:15Speaker 4: Yeah, I think like if you've never felt what you
- 1:07:17Speaker 4: need to be able to, don't we're complaining about here
- 1:07:19Speaker 4: because they're so heavy, very heavy.
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, if I had to choose a favorite
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: of this again, I'd pick Sting.
- 1:07:25Speaker 4: I have so I had, I had all of them,
- 1:07:28Speaker 4: but a couple of years ago I sold Luga and
- 1:07:30Speaker 4: Sit and I just have Flare and Sting now and
- 1:07:32Speaker 4: actually not even there in my storage and they're not
- 1:07:34Speaker 4: even displayed.
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: Oh you gotta display them act they really put them
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: in my room. I'm looking around them are.
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: Just kind of sitting on the on the floor next
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: to my flarecase with the right in front of the buddy.
- 1:07:45Speaker 3: My flarecase is just a detall and it just didn't
- 1:07:47Speaker 3: It wouldn't fit in it.
- 1:07:48Speaker 4: He won't he won't fit in a he won't fit
- 1:07:51Speaker 4: in a section of the I think that's why I
- 1:07:53Speaker 4: had a next one too, because this doesn't clear the
- 1:07:55Speaker 4: fourteen inches doesn't wouldn't clear the shelf.
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: Bro I'm looking right now. You're saying it won't fit.
- 1:08:02Speaker 3: Well, maybe in the way that I haven't displayed. I
- 1:08:05Speaker 3: would I have the risers.
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: Actually, you're right, it might not fit. It's like right there.
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: I could probably maybe put it in the front, bent
- 1:08:11Speaker 3: over a little bit, but it just looks really nice
- 1:08:13Speaker 3: next to the case. No, I don't, honestly, I'll take
- 1:08:20Speaker 3: a look at it after because I would love to.
- 1:08:22Speaker 3: I'm trying to get everything I own in glass. I
- 1:08:24Speaker 3: don't want anything out anymore.
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: Yeah, smart move, Yeah, all right, let's go to what
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: is next. Now, this is where it gets interesting. We
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: got a kid's championship belt. I did not have this
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: as a kid, or maybe I did, I don't remember.
- 1:08:40Speaker 3: That's not you and the pic.
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: Wait, go back to the picture. You have the picture
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: of me and Kenny. Thisen am I wearing this belt? Oh?
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: You can't tell I'm wearing something? Oh my god. Yeah,
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: I think I might be wearing like a house show
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: style belt, though I don't know. I don't know. I
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: don't know, but I have it here. I can't tell
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: what you own this belt right now? It now? I
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: did have it as a kid. I can't. I've never
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: owned this. I've never seen it. I have no memories
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: of it. I got it. It's very nice because it
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: has the velcrow, you know, so it's adjustable, nice and adjustable,
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: and it's like a hard kind of plastic, and then
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: it's soft, almost like a fake leather.
- 1:09:20Speaker 3: Yeah, that's cool.
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: So it's cool, ahead of it, ahead of its time.
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: I I dig it. I think it's actually better than
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: the Kid's Hasbro title, more detail instead of just being
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: a sticker like the Hasbro was. But the Hasbrow one's bigger.
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: This is a little tiny, it's pretty cool. Tiny, but
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: it's cool. I have this behind all my figures on
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: my g loop shelf, which I once I took down
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: for this display, will not be putting back up until
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: my new toy room. So you use this you use
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: this episode as a way to help you start packing
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: a little.
- 1:09:52Speaker 3: Bit one cabinet them.
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: So let's talk about this. Okay, hornby high UK. In
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: my mind as a kid, all right, globs over that's it,
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: No more WCW. That's it. We're done. But guys like
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: TTD living in the UK, D's just swimming into gloobs
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: over there. Bro. I had no clue about these until
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: I mid nineties Lens Comics America, New York had somebody's
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: like what I want to say?
- 1:10:26Speaker 4: I said before not till like I was in doted,
- 1:10:28Speaker 4: but maybe early two thousands on the Internet, I finally
- 1:10:32Speaker 4: realized that these existed at all.
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: We'll quickly run through these. These are repaints of the
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: original series, so we have brick player. I also want
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: to say this, and this is just a theory. I
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: think this is like.
- 1:10:46Speaker 4: The original wrestling line of things being made for the
- 1:10:51Speaker 4: sake of being toyatic and not accurate.
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: I'm taking all this title. Do you agree with me
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: with that?
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: Similar to like the ec of you like Tommy Dreamers right, and.
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: The same people. So you're telling me Rick Flair never
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: had the lightning bolt over bolt across No whoo, I'm
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: a reference of that. I just took off this title.
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: This might have been opened by somebody and give it
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: to me, like, oh I bought it obviously, but that's
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: how fresh this looks. So I have.
- 1:11:25Speaker 3: Okay, here's something really interesting. We were talking about this
- 1:11:28Speaker 3: before the show, the hornby Hobbies right right, and TTD
- 1:11:34Speaker 3: was talking about how the front says glub right, but
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: on the back they used a sticker to cover the
- 1:11:41Speaker 3: globe stuff and I'm sorry, yeah, de freedom, look at
- 1:11:45Speaker 3: that there it is hornby Hobbies.
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: I'm today's years old about the hornby Hobbies. To be honest,
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: I have I'm pretty I'm sure I knew that that
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: was what happened to you.
- 1:11:56Speaker 3: I didn't know. I I honestly, I didn't.
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: You know.
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: I got this from from a major market. It was
- 1:12:01Speaker 3: a good deal. I never even looked on the back
- 1:12:04Speaker 3: World Championship Wrestling.
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: And otherwise the front is exact same though the carding
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: I'm pretty.
- 1:12:09Speaker 3: Sure distributed by hornby Hobbies. Westwood, Margate Kent, please retain
- 1:12:14Speaker 3: these particulars for future reference.
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: WHOA. My question is, does this show everybody on the back,
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: because they don't make everybody.
- 1:12:24Speaker 3: The hornby hobbies. One just shows the twelve.
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: Can we talk about the collectible points, the clipping save
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: points that again led to nothing on satory lines. You
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: see that one the l A PN news. You know
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: about that proof of purchase one point? The ring was
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: four points, all right? So there it is the nature
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: boy Rick flair. We'll rapid fire through these, yeah, double
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: a some of these, I mean the crazy thing is
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: they're valuable, but they're ridiculous all the sites. Arn might
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: be the most passable like gear of the whole line.
- 1:12:57Speaker 3: Actually, because he definitely were already right.
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: Yeah, the aren't the ARN passes? Uh? For sure? There
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: he is Galube supersize with the w C W Barry
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: Windham in that nice blue by which is okay. But
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: then there's like he would never have matching wrist tape color. Okay,
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: that's a little beat up, but I'll accept it. For
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: here's a nice black trim down there, Like, yeah, what's
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: going on here? I'm fine with the barrier Windham and
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: the blue? What about sid? It's like bright pink, bro,
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: this is the neon pink so my to me and
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: I could be wrong without this. I think the real
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: single it is like orange, right, yes, No, I think
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: it is like a pinkish reddish. What did make the
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: pink is reddish? I mean I think that could be
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: all opinions and orange and pink is red.
- 1:13:48Speaker 3: What color is the dress?
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: Pal, This is bro, this is hot pink. This is
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: Doziglar pink.
- 1:13:56Speaker 3: Yes, it kind of looks like a Doveziglar.
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: Yeah, Dolph Dolf Ziggler would have a real killer on
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: with the ladies in the front and stay single on
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: the back. Yea man, okay and wait, wait, go back.
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: That's it. And Dolf Zigglers would say five nine mountain
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: of muscle. Oh my god, damn. So here are these
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: stings I guess re releases technically from the US. Again,
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: this is so convoluted to me. I always thought these
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: were UK really until the Freedom found that they were
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: in the US as well. So there's the sting in
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: both colors with the orange. Oh, then we get total
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: package Lex Lugerers, Lex Luger. That's right, he said, the
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: green trunks with the yellow wristbands, the yellow side the
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: right there too much.
- 1:14:55Speaker 4: Not the idea of TD just swimming, just swimming in
- 1:14:59Speaker 4: the swimming They're everywhere.
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: He's just swimming life. The total package. Then we got
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: Flying Brian. Now is this accurate gear at all? Brian?
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: You're this is like complete fantasy stuff on the pads.
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: It's also decko on the back of the boots. Now
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: there's like an error out there with like only one
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: logo on the common Yeah, but people count that as
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: a variants. It's not.
- 1:15:28Speaker 4: It's an error, but I mean, I guess could call
- 1:15:31Speaker 4: it both, but technically it's an error.
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: This is a complete fantasy, complete fantasy.
- 1:15:37Speaker 4: I think complete fantasy. I think he wore baby blue,
- 1:15:41Speaker 4: but not those boots. In the designs on the it's
- 1:15:43Speaker 4: a weird design to add to these pads. If it's fantasy,
- 1:15:46Speaker 4: I think there's just these things more toy, all right.
- 1:15:51Speaker 4: Next up we got Rick.
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: This one does pop and it is very nice. I
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: have it right here in the the neon green nor
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: it's nineties. It's so nineties. He was supposed to be
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: in the more accurate yellow, as you can tell by
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: this prototype. But the green pops green, certainly pops dog
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: faced gremlin.
- 1:16:14Speaker 4: They were just trying to bring some life to these
- 1:16:16Speaker 4: and use more exciting colors. They definitely did definitely toy,
- 1:16:20Speaker 4: even the Scott isn't in neon colors purple and pink.
- 1:16:25Speaker 4: I'm sure Scott's worn something similar to this. Sure, I
- 1:16:29Speaker 4: mean to me, this is way more toy like than
- 1:16:31Speaker 4: the yellow. Yeah, that's the lace is the objective here, man,
- 1:16:35Speaker 4: I actually prefer the yellow Scottie Steiner. And this is
- 1:16:41Speaker 4: where it gets really weird, because we have Ron Simmons
- 1:16:45Speaker 4: again it is Jim clothes. Uh blue, nice white stripe
- 1:16:49Speaker 4: down there.
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: Nice stripe. They knew it, but no Butcher read no
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: Tom's ink, right, But there is a prototype picture out
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: there of the tom z inc in the orange. Now
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: do I have the prototype? This is something I've been
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: debating for years. I don't like, there's no way for
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: me to prove this. Where and when did you obtain
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: this item a couple of years ago? Honestly, I get
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: so much stuff and so much prototype stuff. I don't
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: even remember the backstory where I got this, uh go
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: back in the major dever pod archives. But to me,
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: it kind of matches the photo. Like you can even
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: see that white coming through on the wrist tape as
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: the prototype also has if you look. Yep, I believe
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: this is real. But also this is one of the
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: things I didn't spend a lot of money on it
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: would just be such an odd thing to fake anyway, right,
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: not really, because people would paint like who's who's seeking that?
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: Like to fool them?
- 1:17:53Speaker 3: People who are major marks, people that listen to this podcast,
- 1:17:57Speaker 3: people who love not to fool anybody. But what if
- 1:18:00Speaker 3: somebody was like, you know, it would be cool to
- 1:18:01Speaker 3: own that.
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: I you know, but it's not staying as Tom saying,
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: that's where I'm getting at, I guess.
- 1:18:07Speaker 3: But it is an easy custom if you're a customizer
- 1:18:11Speaker 3: and you're thinking of things to make, you'd like to
- 1:18:13Speaker 3: add to your gen collection. Right, we love the idea
- 1:18:16Speaker 3: of the things that.
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: Shouldn't be you're a heart of Harsbrouski. Is it real?
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: I believe it's real. Like if you hold it in
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: hand and you look like I've seen some great customs
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: of my day, Like this doesn't look like someone painted it,
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: you know over a series one.
- 1:18:29Speaker 4: Probably looks like it's been painted in nineteen ninety one,
- 1:18:31Speaker 4: not you know, two thousand and one.
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: Like the paint job is just too good. Yeah, it's
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: just I don't know. Now if it was fake whatever,
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: I didn't think.
- 1:18:43Speaker 3: That wouldn't have been painted over this.
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: There's no rules to this sample.
- 1:18:49Speaker 4: Yeah, there's no rules, but we've seen Hasbro stuff like
- 1:18:53Speaker 4: if they redechoed somebody, they took the existing figure and
- 1:18:56Speaker 4: painted it so.
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: Like this looks like in my ex opinion, this looks
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: like a factory painted this, but over like uh maybe
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: not even over at Tom's. Like I don't even I
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: can't even describe it to you. Because the skin color
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: is slightly different than the other Tom's ink. The hair
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: color is slightly different, but that doesn't really necessarily mean
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: much either.
- 1:19:15Speaker 3: I think that means a lot, actually, because if somebody
- 1:19:19Speaker 3: just grabbed the Toms Inc. Then theoretically the hair color
- 1:19:21Speaker 3: in the skin would be the.
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: Exact sty But you know how it is with these
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: mass piers figures. Sometimes you have, like especially in these
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: early days, you take two LJ and Big John Studs,
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: the hair colors are different. You know what I'm saying.
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: Because there made so many and so many different.
- 1:19:33Speaker 3: Factories, who what was it a credible seller?
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: Honestly, I don't even remember the backstory.
- 1:19:39Speaker 3: You're gonna have to go back. I cannot wait for
- 1:19:41Speaker 3: six months from now. When Brosky says on the podcast,
- 1:19:43Speaker 3: I got this uh sample, tom z Ink, I read
- 1:19:48Speaker 3: a lot of them.
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: There was some handwriting on the bottom. There are seven
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: two four seven. I believe that's what it says, two
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: four nin er. So listen, keep it in my collection.
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: But guys, I don't like. I don't like proudly I
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: have the unreleased em like because I don't. I don't
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: really know. I believe it's real, but I I don't.
- 1:20:11Speaker 3: I'm not you know what, I believe you?
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: Well? Thank you? All right? So out of these repaints,
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: what's your favorite? Who? Well? And you know, I was
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: old when I realized that that black Sting did not
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: come to the UK. I always thought that was a
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: UK exclusive as well. So I'm learning. I'm learning on
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: my own episode right now, light me, Bullflair, come on.
- 1:20:36Speaker 4: No, Sid is the most fun for me, Hornby. We
- 1:20:41Speaker 4: should also acknowledge that these are very valuable figures. Yes,
- 1:20:45Speaker 4: like we're dogging them because they're so weird. But if
- 1:20:48Speaker 4: you want to obtain these, especially men on cars, yeah,
- 1:20:51Speaker 4: I get ready to spend some cash.
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: I'm gonna go with Sid as my favorite as well.
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: All right, this whork gets real interesting, folks, because they
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: made other characters and this is where my mind was
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: blown in LNS comics when I found out about these.
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: Check this out. This is great figure, the natural Dustin Rose. Now, Brian,
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: I knows you have Dustin Rose in hand. Do you
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: not have the other repaints? I have them all, I
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: just didn't bring them. They're just so stupid. There's such
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: backers and I don't even really here he is. Call
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: him a natural And I didn't own this figure until
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: probably the past six years or whatever. But it's great though,
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: It's so cool, it's so big, the pose is very fun.
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: They had to give him a longer championship.
- 1:21:40Speaker 4: Yep, that's the one little fun trivia fact about this.
- 1:21:44Speaker 4: Let's let's put that on the screen. Let's show the
- 1:21:46Speaker 4: like the longer title a couple more and you don't
- 1:21:51Speaker 4: have the belt, which is the only way to get
- 1:21:53Speaker 4: the belt is with this dust and you don't have
- 1:21:55Speaker 4: a complete set ideally.
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: Yeah, learning about these figures totally rocked my world totally
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: because they're just as good as the series.
- 1:22:07Speaker 3: One.
- 1:22:07Speaker 4: Guys, I'm pretty sure like these were all planned by
- 1:22:11Speaker 4: Globe and then you know, sales flatlined and they kind
- 1:22:14Speaker 4: of belled, and you.
- 1:22:15Speaker 3: Know, and Horny was like let's do it.
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: Let's go baby w c W the natural dustin Roads
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: and we got Jimmy Jam. Jimmy Jam came along right here.
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: I don't dig the face paint. I wish it was
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: yeah cool punched over.
- 1:22:38Speaker 3: This is the first time that I'm really getting a
- 1:22:40Speaker 3: good look.
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: At these, to be honest, Wow, bro, they're great.
- 1:22:44Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: I want Mark to get itchy and start buying Jimmy
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: Jam garbing with that face paint.
- 1:22:50Speaker 3: This is the kind of stuff guys, as I as
- 1:22:53Speaker 3: I grow older in my collecting days, that this is
- 1:22:56Speaker 3: the stuff that I want, not a Black Series Star Wars.
- 1:23:01Speaker 3: I want quality over quantity.
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: And what I like about these is like, you put
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: this on a shelf, It's already posed, it's already displayed,
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: I will says. All the globes, they all stand on
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: their own pretty pretty well.
- 1:23:18Speaker 3: Yeah, really, Like the balance of weight is so perfect
- 1:23:22Speaker 3: on you on every figure.
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: Unlike an LJN, which is like barely fifty to fifty. Yeah,
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: what about this guy? The total package Lex Luger waiting
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: for a rumble maybe one of the rarest figures in
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: my collection. I'm like, borderline uncomfortable even just having it
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: out right.
- 1:23:40Speaker 3: Now, and you got the chain.
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: Do you have the chain, bride, yep, you have. You
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: have the chain on the wrong way. Why is it
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: on the wrong way because it's supposed to be like this, No, bro,
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: I literally we're showing right now a reference shot with
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: a unreleased Pony two ahead. But right I literally unboxed this.
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: This is how comes out of the box. But look
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: at it.
- 1:24:04Speaker 4: Look at the picture that they just showed, and then
- 1:24:07Speaker 4: I feel like I used the actual photo of Lex
- 1:24:09Speaker 4: wearing the chain to for you how to do this.
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: Oh well, this is how it comes in the package.
- 1:24:13Speaker 3: Like this interesting, Wow, that's cool. That's so this.
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: I opened this because this is I'm a psycho. This
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: is all made with with black materials. So it's like
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: an l j N like the old old j ns,
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: like the old end where he'll get bad scuffs. If
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: it's a scuff on those, he'll have black on his nose.
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: I see, your mind's like out of the package fresh.
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: I I had. The only way I could find one
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: absolutely mint with the chain was to buy one and
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: open it up. And that's what I did.
- 1:24:41Speaker 4: Like I said, I'm borderline uncomfortable even just having it
- 1:24:43Speaker 4: out of my case right now, that's how it's a
- 1:24:46Speaker 4: beautiful and the chain.
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: Forget the chain, it is impossible. It's a beautiful figure.
- 1:24:52Speaker 3: It's the first uh you know, glube with a with
- 1:24:56Speaker 3: a thing.
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: Right anccessary? Yeah, well obviously not right, not technically. The
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: next couple of guys have some things as well. All right.
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: Next up we got Big Josh talk about somebody did
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: not know existed for years, talk about rare accessories.
- 1:25:16Speaker 3: Oh my god, I don't even know who Big Josh is.
- 1:25:22Speaker 3: Ever seen a Big Josh wrestling match?
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: There's not a lot. This was this an axe handles
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: that was called axe handle. Super rare to get.
- 1:25:33Speaker 4: This was like the last thing that I got when
- 1:25:37Speaker 4: I completed this loose collection was his axe handle.
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: Because it's so rare. What a great fucking figure, even
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: like the flannel is like molded. Yeah, damn, looks good.
- 1:25:52Speaker 3: Tell I'm getting it.
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: You here, guys, you gotta get it. The other characters,
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: not the Neon stuff, but yeah, he's of the characters. Yeah,
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: who's next? Oh man, call Dan Man?
- 1:26:10Speaker 3: Dang does Johnny Clash have this?
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: I don't know. Actually it's awesome. It's not that the
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: tassels whole new mold. Look at that so cool entrance Gearsting,
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: This one is the same thing where it's painted all black.
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: If you could see like my hands, can you see
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: my hands? Well? But what I thought was very interesting,
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: mind is that you know Robbie kane Off and others,
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: you know, they they start original toy makers, you know
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: with the founder of Glube, Saul from from Globe, they
- 1:26:50Speaker 1: start original take a shot original San Francis of toy makers.
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: Look at this thing they made. I never, I never, i'munderstood,
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: Like did they just I don't know.
- 1:27:01Speaker 4: Was he saying it's fasting with that figure that he
- 1:27:04Speaker 4: wanted to do it again, but it's not the same,
- 1:27:06Speaker 4: it's weird exact same, but damn yeah, I mean it's
- 1:27:10Speaker 4: pretty close.
- 1:27:11Speaker 3: Wow. Yeah, interesting And like.
- 1:27:14Speaker 1: Sting wasn't wearing this at that time? Not really?
- 1:27:16Speaker 4: Yeah right, it's it's I think Robbie Ganoff was just
- 1:27:19Speaker 4: pretty fascinated with that look I did get or maybe
- 1:27:22Speaker 4: he wanted to bring that look to America. Oh maybe
- 1:27:25Speaker 4: he did. What about newt Bad Street Michael p as.
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: Hayes definitely not better than Jimmy jam Butt. A little
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: scuff on the butt, My first first blemish again. Yeah,
- 1:27:48Speaker 1: I just did not know existed four years. Yeah, I'm
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: looking at people, I'm looking at the trademark on the
- 1:27:56Speaker 1: butt nineteen ninety. That's what I'm saying. These were just
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: in development, I think. And yeah, they picked up the
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: pieces there. It is.
- 1:28:05Speaker 4: The free type designs are like you know in there,
- 1:28:10Speaker 4: they're not just like deco hits, right, they're molded, molded,
- 1:28:16Speaker 4: great figure, and I guess we're saving the best for last.
- 1:28:21Speaker 4: L e GTTE talk about somebody that could have came
- 1:28:25Speaker 4: over to your fig fed bro.
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: This figure is ginormous. Okay, like look at him, extis thing.
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: Look at that He's huge. That's really cool. ELI got
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: there was such a big deal literally figurably in this
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: era of w CW. Like, this is such a great funck.
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: I think this is an underrated figure. I think this
- 1:28:50Speaker 1: should be the major pot Hall of Fame.
- 1:28:52Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm not not against it. It's just so it's
- 1:28:55Speaker 4: so rare and you know, not a lot of people
- 1:28:57Speaker 4: have had a chance to see it in person or
- 1:28:58Speaker 4: hold it.
- 1:28:58Speaker 3: You know, Wow, we got we got a Michael Hayes
- 1:29:03Speaker 3: in on card on eBay for two twenty four buy
- 1:29:06Speaker 3: it now right.
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: Now, that's awesome, that's not bad. That's a great price.
- 1:29:10Speaker 3: There's one for one sixty bye, Now there's a loose
- 1:29:12Speaker 3: one for eighty five.
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: You're gonna open these bad boys? I don't know yet
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: here hold on pumped the brakes seven seven beater Karting.
- 1:29:23Speaker 3: I would want them open.
- 1:29:24Speaker 4: I would want so buy Beater Karting. And actually there's
- 1:29:28Speaker 4: an item we still have to discuss about the free birds. Yes,
- 1:29:32Speaker 4: let's get into all right. Who's your favorite of these?
- 1:29:36Speaker 1: Big Josh Nah Dustin Dustin For me, of course I
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: love the Sting, but Dustin new character, great detail in
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: the boots, in the vest.
- 1:29:47Speaker 4: If Sting was wearing the like blue tights that the
- 1:29:51Speaker 4: Glop series one is wearing, they'd be like a game
- 1:29:53Speaker 4: changing meeting. If I was a kid, you could have
- 1:29:55Speaker 4: done like his entrance, you know.
- 1:29:58Speaker 3: But do you I think that like Michael Hayes is
- 1:30:05Speaker 3: like pissed off about this for a while, like the
- 1:30:07Speaker 3: I had a figure, but it's only in.
- 1:30:08Speaker 4: The I don't think people probably lot of people and
- 1:30:11Speaker 4: says I was so popular I couldn't even find my figure.
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: Okay, if I had to guess, he does not know
- 1:30:18Speaker 1: the actual logistic.
- 1:30:19Speaker 3: Because Luger wouldn't care. He's got figures coming out. Sting
- 1:30:22Speaker 3: doesn't care.
- 1:30:22Speaker 4: I don't think any of these guys care marketing. Yeah,
- 1:30:24Speaker 4: really mad Dusted, I bet would care.
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: Knowing him, Mark, I think you were the same age
- 1:30:30Speaker 1: as Dustin when this figure came out.
- 1:30:32Speaker 3: Close to it.
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: Yeah, so there were also two packs. We'll go through
- 1:30:35Speaker 1: those quickly. Sta Brothers. He's got to be so rare
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: and expressed. Same deal.
- 1:30:41Speaker 3: Yeah, that's pretty cool.
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: The two of the four Horsemen flair. You need that, Mark. Look,
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: they're matching. They're red tight. Yeah, they match the lightning Bolt.
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: You also got the fabulous free Birds, the greatest rock
- 1:30:55Speaker 1: and roll wrestlers on Earth. That's a cool looking too.
- 1:30:57Speaker 3: But you're a big free Birds fan, like magic hanging
- 1:31:00Speaker 3: up in your room, you know.
- 1:31:01Speaker 1: Yeah, of course the dudes with attitudes Lex Luger and Sing.
- 1:31:07Speaker 1: That's a rare boy right there.
- 1:31:09Speaker 3: That's why I don't because if they match with the
- 1:31:11Speaker 3: entrance gears.
- 1:31:11Speaker 1: Is that even like I don't know if I've ever
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: even seen that for a seal. I don't know if
- 1:31:15Speaker 1: I have either.
- 1:31:16Speaker 3: Well, even even the Freedom said like he had to
- 1:31:18Speaker 3: grab these pictures. Is it hard to even find the pictures.
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: Of these damn well. Next up we got check this out, guys.
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: There was a ring with a little baggy of sting
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: and luger. It's cool just you get a little free figures.
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: Pretty sure today is years old than that. When I
- 1:31:35Speaker 1: had no idea, I didn't know that either has mode
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: there with a J. C. Penny where you got uh,
- 1:31:40Speaker 1: you got Macho and Hogan's a very similar deal. But
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: there's also a UK ring that's a little different that
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: has the sound slam and action with the sound module.
- 1:31:50Speaker 1: So they made it already crazy fun and Toyota Playable
- 1:31:54Speaker 1: Kids ring even more crazy fun than playable. But I
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: do appreciate they changed the boxer. Big Josh is on
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: there dustin Wow. Part of me thinks that I have
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: remember when l came off the top of the cage.
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: Part of me thinks that I have this ring he
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: was catching that dive bro. He's killing everybody. I kind
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: of have a memory that the ring that I have
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: that has just showed is this ring. I don't know.
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: I gotta figure this out. I do have the box
- 1:32:24Speaker 1: somewhere my storage, and so I gotta go to my
- 1:32:26Speaker 1: storage in and check.
- 1:32:26Speaker 3: That I know you have this, this this unit because
- 1:32:29Speaker 3: you tried to play it on the podcast once do
- 1:32:32Speaker 3: I then I must have this you.
- 1:32:34Speaker 4: Well, because you like this module comes with the fabulous
- 1:32:39Speaker 4: free Birds. This is this for whatever reason, this is
- 1:32:43Speaker 4: a very common box set and always pops up for
- 1:32:48Speaker 4: sale and whatever. I don't know why that is.
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: But the free Birds coming with the sound module that
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: came with the Ring and then this is today's years old.
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: As we had our little production meeting before we started this,
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: no idea. The sound module was sold on its own. Guy,
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: I just found this on WWE's YouTube WW. I'm sorry
- 1:33:09Speaker 1: WCW sound Slamming Asher Ring w on Box with Zach Ryder.
- 1:33:13Speaker 1: So I unboxed this on ww's YouTube channel, so I
- 1:33:18Speaker 1: do have it. I don't know where the sound module
- 1:33:20Speaker 1: is though. Wow, maybe it's in the box.
- 1:33:23Speaker 3: In my storage unit by it now on eBay. Sound
- 1:33:26Speaker 3: module with the free Birds three hundred bucks.
- 1:33:29Speaker 4: Yeah, it's it's like it's more common. It's definitely more
- 1:33:32Speaker 4: common than like the two pack of the Freebird. Look there,
- 1:33:35Speaker 4: I am holding it.
- 1:33:36Speaker 1: Look at that. I didn't even know I had. I
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: have it. We got box a old wrings YouTube channel.
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: What is going on here. You learn something new every day.
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: You learn what you have, right, you learn what you
- 1:33:49Speaker 1: already have. Let's get into some nitty gritty stuff here, guys,
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: there were talks of talking wrestlers.
- 1:33:57Speaker 4: I mean, we could just say that this is the
- 1:34:00Speaker 4: line's over, that's dead done. T TD's family did not
- 1:34:05Speaker 4: purchase enough of these, therefore, thanks dude.
- 1:34:10Speaker 1: But what we're about to show, we're not exactly sure
- 1:34:13Speaker 1: where these were going to go. These are talking figures.
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: You can tell where like the soundlot came out. Okay,
- 1:34:21Speaker 1: I don't think they would have made everybody think they
- 1:34:23Speaker 1: bought a dead sting log or sid Flair.
- 1:34:25Speaker 3: Maybe they were going to vibrate.
- 1:34:26Speaker 1: Who knows, No, I don't think so, but you never know.
- 1:34:28Speaker 1: Is Robby Kanoff? Next up? We have like a little
- 1:34:33Speaker 1: articulation action with a stinger right there, kind of in
- 1:34:36Speaker 1: his entrance gear but not quite. There's no tassels, a
- 1:34:40Speaker 1: little unique looking figure. A lot of this stuff we
- 1:34:42Speaker 1: have little to no information about. You speculating its Okay,
- 1:34:49Speaker 1: Now this is where it gets crazy. Okay, this I
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: guess would have been the next wave, right if it
- 1:34:57Speaker 1: continued in the UK in Robe. Yeah, it's ric Flair
- 1:35:02Speaker 1: in the robe. Beautiful beautiful figure, hand painted prototype right there.
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: It's unbelieving sense saying he's the next you know, he's
- 1:35:13Speaker 1: the next one. So woo. The nature of bar ric
- 1:35:17Speaker 1: flair looks great. Now this is where it gets crazy, guys.
- 1:35:22Speaker 1: The diamond Stud and look who owns it. That's crazy. Now.
- 1:35:27Speaker 1: I don't know how many of these there are out
- 1:35:30Speaker 1: there in the world. I do know that mine. It's
- 1:35:34Speaker 1: like a resin material. Like just just looking at the
- 1:35:37Speaker 1: stubble sunglasses. Pretty cool, Like this is like one of
- 1:35:43Speaker 1: my prize possession figures right there, diamond stud. Is that
- 1:35:47Speaker 1: in scale with them? Or is that like sized up? Er? Wow,
- 1:35:52Speaker 1: I guess it's a little size I can't I can't
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: tell he sized up or oh he looks sized up? Yeah,
- 1:35:57Speaker 1: maybe a little sized up.
- 1:36:00Speaker 3: It's awesome though.
- 1:36:01Speaker 1: That's cool though. I absolutely love this. I wish I
- 1:36:05Speaker 1: had the flare as well to show you guys, but
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: I don't have it. Diamond stead would have been perfect, like,
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: oh man.
- 1:36:11Speaker 4: Think about that, could had razor ramone in you're figuring
- 1:36:16Speaker 4: jumping ship. Yeah, say head it all to the bad guy.
- 1:36:20Speaker 4: The diamond stud. Okay yo, baby yo, baby yo. This
- 1:36:27Speaker 4: is one of those things that like this run was
- 1:36:29Speaker 4: not what it is in people's minds, but because of
- 1:36:32Speaker 4: this pro type has existed, it probably makes it more.
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: No baby, yo baby yo PM News.
- 1:36:41Speaker 3: We watched a couple of PN news matches on Off
- 1:36:43Speaker 3: the Top rope and I was just blown away, blown away.
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: Especially it would it would have been an unbelievable thing,
- 1:36:50Speaker 1: very toy, very early nineties, put about nineties. Yeah, I
- 1:36:55Speaker 1: was like, you an interview with him where he talked
- 1:36:57Speaker 1: about it.
- 1:36:58Speaker 3: Like he just looks like somebody who would have been
- 1:37:01Speaker 3: on MTV slanging videos. You know what I'm saying.
- 1:37:04Speaker 1: Look at the detail here on the watch.
- 1:37:07Speaker 3: What were you saying about an interview brisky?
- 1:37:09Speaker 1: I was just doing an interview where I said he
- 1:37:10Speaker 1: didn't come out, and he's like, oh, yeah, I pissed
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: somebody off. No, that's how it happened.
- 1:37:14Speaker 4: This is why you can't let uneducated wrestlers about the
- 1:37:17Speaker 4: toy business just you know, make stuff up.
- 1:37:21Speaker 1: There it is yo baby, yo baby yo. But that's
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: not all. We got. Ricky more that I wish was real, Right, bro,
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: look at this, that's beautiful.
- 1:37:36Speaker 3: How did you get these brosky?
- 1:37:38Speaker 4: Look and look at that this is a prototype fade
- 1:37:41Speaker 4: in the hair. Look at that fade into the mullet
- 1:37:43Speaker 4: with the two hair color. Oh my god, how did
- 1:37:46Speaker 4: you get these?
- 1:37:47Speaker 3: Were they all separate or somebody had them all?
- 1:37:49Speaker 1: I got the three together. Does Ricky know you have that?
- 1:37:52Speaker 1: Ricky knows I have it? He definitely wants it. Well
- 1:37:55Speaker 1: he can't. He probably it's Ricky. Somebody probably does want it,
- 1:37:58Speaker 1: but he can't. Like, look at this was made, like
- 1:38:00Speaker 1: look at all this detail.
- 1:38:02Speaker 3: Guys, awesome, these are awesome figures. You have to go
- 1:38:07Speaker 3: when you build this room, you know what I mean?
- 1:38:09Speaker 3: You have to take note on the prize items.
- 1:38:13Speaker 1: I think you have to get those like slabbed. Dude,
- 1:38:16Speaker 1: So I think maybe Diamondstead was just made taller because look,
- 1:38:19Speaker 1: he's just scale Barry.
- 1:38:20Speaker 3: Wyndham, gotcha, yeah, but he should be small.
- 1:38:23Speaker 1: So I think you have to get those like encased
- 1:38:25Speaker 1: and slabbed and labeled. And I won't do that, why
- 1:38:29Speaker 1: because I like that I'm able to hold him like this.
- 1:38:31Speaker 3: I don't think you need to do that, but I
- 1:38:33Speaker 3: do think that you need to make sure that your
- 1:38:35Speaker 3: glub section is prominently featured in your new room, so
- 1:38:39Speaker 3: they will be.
- 1:38:39Speaker 1: And they were in my other tour room. These guys
- 1:38:41Speaker 1: I had that those three right in.
- 1:38:43Speaker 3: The front right, so man, I had that flare.
- 1:38:48Speaker 1: Let's go, if anyone has a Flair, hit me up.
- 1:38:50Speaker 3: I'll I'll hit me up first, I'll say I can't
- 1:38:53Speaker 3: pay for that, and then I'll tell Broskey.
- 1:38:54Speaker 1: A lot of purchases coming out of this this episode.
- 1:38:56Speaker 1: It's funny because we have our own toy company, Collectmajor
- 1:39:00Speaker 1: dot Com, and we were planning on doing, Hey, we
- 1:39:03Speaker 1: have ric Flair, why don't we recreate this glube? We
- 1:39:06Speaker 1: decided not to. Thank god we did because now there's
- 1:39:09Speaker 1: like all these glub companies coming out trying to make gallubs.
- 1:39:12Speaker 1: I mean, we have Flair and Ricky Sign. We could
- 1:39:14Speaker 1: have done this. Yeah, at the time this recording, none
- 1:39:17Speaker 1: of those Globe companies have made anything. So that pan
- 1:39:20Speaker 1: News that's like an exact replica that is not out
- 1:39:23Speaker 1: no yet, Oh my god. Yeah. So we wish them well,
- 1:39:27Speaker 1: but we're not gonna plug them here. Honestly.
- 1:39:29Speaker 4: If that when that figure comes and it's like legit
- 1:39:32Speaker 4: and if it is like worth it, I'll definitely be
- 1:39:35Speaker 4: picking it up.
- 1:39:36Speaker 1: Yeah. So there are also something that we don't have
- 1:39:39Speaker 1: painted versions of black Blood, Black Blood, Billy Jack Haynes,
- 1:39:47Speaker 1: I don't even remember this gimmick.
- 1:39:48Speaker 4: Nope, nope, but that would have been another accessory in
- 1:39:50Speaker 4: this line. Yeah, I would have been another accessory of
- 1:39:52Speaker 4: the few I mean. And then the free Birds in
- 1:39:56Speaker 4: like their entrance gear.
- 1:39:58Speaker 1: That's crazy. So there's the Michael Hayes and the Jimmy
- 1:40:03Speaker 1: Jam garbing. They look a lot better now, these figures
- 1:40:05Speaker 1: like they've been like casted and sold multiple times. Like
- 1:40:09Speaker 1: so I don't even know if these pictures are like
- 1:40:10Speaker 1: the real prototypes, are the casted versions, because like someone
- 1:40:14Speaker 1: sent them to me once and like they weren't trying
- 1:40:15Speaker 1: to fool me. But I was like, these are cool,
- 1:40:18Speaker 1: but like the I can't have like a copy of
- 1:40:20Speaker 1: a prototype in my collection. Bro, Yeah you know what
- 1:40:22Speaker 1: I'm saying. So they would have, but the Jimmy Jam
- 1:40:26Speaker 1: would not. Even the Michael Hayes would not have been
- 1:40:29Speaker 1: toyetek Like to play with Jimmy's like tugging at his
- 1:40:33Speaker 1: jacket impossible.
- 1:40:35Speaker 4: Yeah, Like you're just doing the switch, like I was saying,
- 1:40:37Speaker 4: if that sting had the baby blue tights, you do
- 1:40:41Speaker 4: the entrance, eat a little switch, and.
- 1:40:42Speaker 1: You have your mash right, golden.
- 1:40:44Speaker 3: That's great.
- 1:40:46Speaker 1: So Glube also made some other stuff. Now this we
- 1:40:50Speaker 1: don't know what was going on with this. We've heard
- 1:40:53Speaker 1: conflicting reports. Okay, we've heard these were supposed to be talking.
- 1:40:57Speaker 1: We heard these supposed to be taller. I also heard
- 1:40:59Speaker 1: these were reposed to be before series one, but then
- 1:41:02Speaker 1: they're like, oh, we can't do the articulation in time.
- 1:41:05Speaker 1: I also heard, oh, he's supposed to before series one,
- 1:41:07Speaker 1: but oh no, Hasbro has some sort of like trademark
- 1:41:10Speaker 1: on the action. So we don't know for sure. But
- 1:41:13Speaker 1: if you're watching it like a counter move to the past,
- 1:41:16Speaker 1: bros like the scale essentially five points of articulation the lubes,
- 1:41:21Speaker 1: but if they had Hasbro articulation, and again we don't
- 1:41:26Speaker 1: have these and nobody has these currently in hand to
- 1:41:28Speaker 1: see the scale. Also, can we just say, what the
- 1:41:32Speaker 1: fuck are these trunks?
- 1:41:33Speaker 3: Yeah? Right, it's like it's it's his robe above his trunks.
- 1:41:38Speaker 1: Rick Flair and some robe trunks singing green, which looks nice.
- 1:41:42Speaker 3: Yeah that one doesn't that look that bad?
- 1:41:44Speaker 1: Yeah, that one's cool. I've been trying to find these
- 1:41:46Speaker 1: for the years. Is that is that Luger and Confederate
- 1:41:48Speaker 1: flag trunks. What is that that? Literally, if you didn't know,
- 1:41:51Speaker 1: you'd think those Tracy smothers we got, there's the sit
- 1:41:58Speaker 1: in that like trademark YEP. And then we have Rick
- 1:42:03Speaker 1: Steiner and Scotty Steiner. That's Toryetika as fuck. I do
- 1:42:08Speaker 1: like that, but it's only those six, which makes me
- 1:42:12Speaker 1: believe like its series one. Huh. Well no, because the
- 1:42:15Speaker 1: original wave had doesn't have has armed, doesn't it. Oh,
- 1:42:17Speaker 1: you're right, that's only switch though, So we don't quite
- 1:42:21Speaker 1: know what these were. Everything out there is speculation. I
- 1:42:26Speaker 1: would love to have these in hand. Someone definitely owns
- 1:42:29Speaker 1: them because in the early two thousands these were going around. Really,
- 1:42:32Speaker 1: so someone has them.
- 1:42:34Speaker 3: There's a kid playing with them somewhere.
- 1:42:36Speaker 1: Well, no, I don't think that, but I don't know
- 1:42:38Speaker 1: if they're in somebody's collection. I don't know if they're
- 1:42:40Speaker 1: in storage. I don't know.
- 1:42:41Speaker 4: I mean, I've said before on the show, I've I
- 1:42:45Speaker 4: used to. Actually I emailed with saw Jodelle several times
- 1:42:49Speaker 4: to try to get prototypes, and I called Robbie Kanoff
- 1:42:53Speaker 4: before he passed and we played phone tag and we
- 1:42:54Speaker 4: even talked on the phone a couple of times.
- 1:42:56Speaker 1: I love you a voicemail.
- 1:43:00Speaker 4: They neither one of them have anything, nor do they
- 1:43:02Speaker 4: know where to locate anything prototype.
- 1:43:04Speaker 1: Right because now, like you know, prototypes are plentiful because
- 1:43:09Speaker 1: people know to keep them. Back in the day, people
- 1:43:12Speaker 1: didn't think that.
- 1:43:14Speaker 4: You know, Robie Canoff explained to me that he would
- 1:43:17Speaker 4: just give them the kids, like that's what he said
- 1:43:20Speaker 4: to me on the phone.
- 1:43:22Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, these would have been cool no matter what
- 1:43:24Speaker 1: they are. But they are some things that did come out.
- 1:43:27Speaker 1: Let's take a look at this stuff. Well rapid fire,
- 1:43:29Speaker 1: Oh well this did not come out. Teddy Long. Look
- 1:43:33Speaker 1: at this. Where are we supposed to get a Teddy Long?
- 1:43:36Speaker 1: Because there he is with Doom in their gym clothes,
- 1:43:41Speaker 1: and it's not just a picture of him with Doom,
- 1:43:43Speaker 1: it's the reference shots. So imagine if we would have
- 1:43:46Speaker 1: gotten a Theodore or log Galoop. I would have loved that.
- 1:43:52Speaker 1: I would have absolutely loved that, and I think he
- 1:43:54Speaker 1: would have fit perfectly. Would he have sold I don't know, Yeah,
- 1:43:58Speaker 1: that might be the issue. What there's no denying he
- 1:44:02Speaker 1: was meant for that line lived been fun. I would
- 1:44:06Speaker 1: just look at that. But the he's a jip close too.
- 1:44:09Speaker 1: They all went to the gym together, y'all don't like
- 1:44:12Speaker 1: Alube neither man. That would have been great. Hey, if
- 1:44:17Speaker 1: there's any other reference shots out there, possible, guys, let
- 1:44:20Speaker 1: us know. We'd love to find out do a follow up.
- 1:44:22Speaker 1: That's cool, But what else is there to show? The
- 1:44:26Speaker 1: carrying case, the collectible case. This is not technically a
- 1:44:31Speaker 1: glue product.
- 1:44:32Speaker 4: But I feel like everyone like had these though, Like
- 1:44:36Speaker 4: I'm like sad that these have gone to the wayside
- 1:44:39Speaker 4: of collecting, you know, yeah, because this was such a
- 1:44:41Speaker 4: nineties thing and everyone, I mean everybody had had these things.
- 1:44:46Speaker 3: I like this versus meant in Surren wrapped there Broskie.
- 1:44:50Speaker 1: No, No, it's not meant you can. That's like what
- 1:44:52Speaker 1: it's made at it.
- 1:44:54Speaker 3: I see wow.
- 1:44:55Speaker 1: Now it holds twelve figures and there's only twelve guys
- 1:44:58Speaker 1: on the line, so it's perfect for clube. But I
- 1:45:02Speaker 1: feel like you need this for your collection. It's just
- 1:45:04Speaker 1: a nice looking piece.
- 1:45:06Speaker 3: If your parents got that for you, there were O
- 1:45:08Speaker 3: c D. Let's buy this, uh cleaning material.
- 1:45:12Speaker 1: I mean, my kids make such a mess with their toys.
- 1:45:15Speaker 4: There's not one case I wouldn't buy them if they
- 1:45:17Speaker 4: asked for right to keep the playroom clean.
- 1:45:20Speaker 1: Other crapshoot items that made their way to shells with
- 1:45:24Speaker 1: these watches. Watch little figures on watches you got Luger
- 1:45:29Speaker 1: go ahead of their time with that, like the packaging
- 1:45:32Speaker 1: being uniform. Yeah, brick Flair SID and two stings. I
- 1:45:38Speaker 1: don't own any of these. I don't own these magnets
- 1:45:41Speaker 1: of Lugar Flair Sid, Vicious insteaks. These are the figures
- 1:45:45Speaker 1: like scaled down for sure? Yeah, no, for sure they are.
- 1:45:50Speaker 1: And then look at these keychains, keychain and zipper pool?
- 1:45:54Speaker 1: Do you owner of the flare? Mark?
- 1:45:57Speaker 3: I have none of those, but you need it all.
- 1:46:00Speaker 1: I definitely bullet you to get in the watch. You
- 1:46:02Speaker 1: never bought it.
- 1:46:04Speaker 3: Uh you know what? I might have the watch, but
- 1:46:06Speaker 3: don't remember.
- 1:46:06Speaker 1: I'm it's not on your wrist right now? Mark? Yeah?
- 1:46:09Speaker 1: What do you? How do you? How do you know
- 1:46:11Speaker 1: what time it is?
- 1:46:14Speaker 3: I'm looking up the keychain. I think I had the keychain.
- 1:46:18Speaker 3: Maybe would I have gotten it in in the Uh
- 1:46:20Speaker 3: that that raid of the wrestling universe that time? It's possible,
- 1:46:28Speaker 3: And I think I just literally use it as a keychain.
- 1:46:31Speaker 3: It's possible, and then destroyed it and then got rid.
- 1:46:33Speaker 4: Of it, right Yeah, I mean, I would not recommend
- 1:46:36Speaker 4: doing that right now because these wouldn't last a week
- 1:46:38Speaker 4: on a real keychain.
- 1:46:39Speaker 1: They disintegrate, all right. Well, look at that there it is, guys,
- 1:46:46Speaker 1: the entire Glube collection. Some people were thinking this can
- 1:46:50Speaker 1: take a half it's almost two hours. So there's a
- 1:46:53Speaker 1: lot of stuff. Guys.
- 1:46:54Speaker 4: It's more stuff than you think, especially like I said,
- 1:46:57Speaker 4: growing up, you don't know this all that UK stuff. Yeah,
- 1:47:01Speaker 4: Adult collect Or made for a lot of fun for
- 1:47:03Speaker 4: me to go back and get it all. And you know,
- 1:47:07Speaker 4: because to collect the US twelve at at the moment
- 1:47:12Speaker 4: of this recording is very doable and affordable.
- 1:47:15Speaker 1: But who knows.
- 1:47:17Speaker 3: Very As I was just looking on eBay, some of
- 1:47:20Speaker 3: the basic ones are are very cheap, even on card,
- 1:47:24Speaker 3: and I got one, two, three, four, five, six, seven,
- 1:47:27Speaker 3: eight eight of them on card very recently for almost
- 1:47:29Speaker 3: one hundred bucks.
- 1:47:30Speaker 1: Wow, which is crazy.
- 1:47:32Speaker 3: It's just great. It was a hell of a deal.
- 1:47:34Speaker 3: But you can you can find them for sure.
- 1:47:37Speaker 1: I love these figures. I think they still hold up
- 1:47:40Speaker 1: a nostalgic for them, like wine. Yeah, I think they
- 1:47:43Speaker 1: think there's timeless. The unfortunate thing is that just didn't
- 1:47:47Speaker 1: last long, right, I think they were great that they
- 1:47:50Speaker 1: would have kept going. Who knows we could add Vader
- 1:47:53Speaker 1: Rick Rude, Rick Buldog, Yeah, bulldog. It would have would
- 1:47:57Speaker 1: have been a lot of fun.
- 1:47:58Speaker 4: But it could within Stonekel Steve Boston's rookie figure, like
- 1:48:05Speaker 4: a whole bunch of what IF's.
- 1:48:06Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure. Eventually who knows could have been there debut.
- 1:48:11Speaker 1: Eventually these turn into original episodes of toy Makers essentially,
- 1:48:15Speaker 1: and they do have the w CW line for a
- 1:48:17Speaker 1: couple more years. They make the the the the medium,
- 1:48:22Speaker 1: rubber guys that not quite as big as El James
- 1:48:24Speaker 1: to make these. They make the articulation, they make the
- 1:48:27Speaker 1: vibrators so jewish Lightning loved his loved him some w
- 1:48:32Speaker 1: c W. I appreciate his fandom, right, you know that
- 1:48:37Speaker 1: he made a lot of the stuff happen. So yeah,
- 1:48:40Speaker 1: pretty cool.
- 1:48:44Speaker 3: Let's know what you think of the Globe line and
- 1:48:46Speaker 3: if you would love to see it continue and thrive
- 1:48:50Speaker 3: nowadays with all these Yeah, well.
- 1:48:51Speaker 4: I would love to know what people are excited about
- 1:48:54Speaker 4: the potential out there, because there is a lot of
- 1:48:56Speaker 4: potential there is, all right, guys, Yo.
