SPEAKER_01: What is going on, ballers?
• 0:06
SPEAKER_01: It's your boy MJ coming at you with another episode of The Fancy Fumble.
• 0:11
SPEAKER_01: Thank you all for stopping by today.
• 0:13
SPEAKER_01: Uh, we have a special guest.
• 0:16
SPEAKER_01: This gentleman here has been playing in my league for the last few years, and he's a first-time champion, Gendry, the Flacco Rojas over here, ladies and gentlemen.
• 0:29
SPEAKER_01: Woo! Give him a round of applause.
• 0:31
  SPEAKER_01: Thank you, thank you.
• 0:33
SPEAKER_01: This guy has been my protege.
• 0:36
SPEAKER_01: I have been training him since a wee young tadpole.
• 0:41
SPEAKER_01: Now he has blossomed into a full bullfrog.
• 0:45
SPEAKER_01: He's ready to really come out of the scenes and really show us why he got there.
• 0:51
SPEAKER_01: We always want to ask these guys, you know, ask you specifically, what would you attribute your success to this year?
• 1:00
SPEAKER_00: I would say I took a little bit of everything Manny has taught me over the years and kind of like stuck everything all together.
• 1:08
SPEAKER_00: But man, free agency and trades really did me very well this year.
• 1:14
SPEAKER_01: Uh um that they did, ladies and gentlemen.
• 1:17
SPEAKER_01: So I I'm gonna pull go ahead and pull up a little bit of uh so you guys kind of see what happened over here.
• 1:23
SPEAKER_01: So I'm gonna do a quick screen share.
• 1:26
  SPEAKER_01: Perfect.
• 1:27
SPEAKER_01: So I don't know if that's showing up over here.
• 1:30
  SPEAKER_01: It is perfect.
• 1:31
  SPEAKER_01: We're good to go.
• 1:32
SPEAKER_01: All right, so right now we have our stats up for the season.
• 1:36
SPEAKER_01: Uh so right now, Flacco over here, his team name was Damn Najigba.
• 1:42
  SPEAKER_01: Mike Penis hurts.
• 1:45
SPEAKER_01: So you ended up forcing your way to the top.
• 1:49
SPEAKER_01: You ended up with a 12-2 record, which I think you were pretty much tied for first since the opening kickoff, right?
• 1:56
SPEAKER_01: I was actually undefeated until week 10, until I got my first loss.
• 2:03
  SPEAKER_01: Damn.
• 2:03
SPEAKER_01: And you only received one more after that, because 12-2, and obviously you won three rounds of playoffs or two rounds, you know, put you at a final record 14-2.
• 2:13
SPEAKER_01: And you not only won, you beat a defending two-time champion, and your commissioner, yours truly, right?
• 2:23
SPEAKER_01: And then uh, for those of you that didn't see it, we're just gonna show you a little sample of that scoreboard.
• 2:28
SPEAKER_01: Um, so he end it ended up being a thrashing 185 to 138 with your final roster.
• 2:39
SPEAKER_01: You ended up starting Jacoby Brissett, Jacori Krosky, Merritt, Chase Brandt, last minute waiver wild pickup.
• 2:47
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, CeeDee Lamb, Jameson Williams, and that was a game where Jacori got his points, right?
• 2:53
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he had two touchdowns on the Dallas Cowgirls.
• 2:57
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we don't like them.
• 2:58
SPEAKER_01: And then obviously, uh it looks like you have a bunch of spot starts, man.
• 3:03
SPEAKER_01: Like Jonathan Taylor, Chris Olave being, you know, obviously CeeDee Lamb being like guaranteed, right?
• 3:10
SPEAKER_01: Chase Brown, like those guys, good core, but like most of those guys are people that normally someone's not gonna start on game day.
• 3:18
  SPEAKER_01: Of course.
• 3:19
SPEAKER_01: I mean, you saw my lineup.
• 3:20
SPEAKER_01: I had mine was Brock Purdy, Josh Jacobs, RJ Harvey, Pickens, Collins, you know, Irving, Astrid.
• 3:28
SPEAKER_01: These are guys that had good first halves of the season, but then they just really disappeared for playoffs.
• 3:34
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, they're mostly players that you don't think nothing of.
• 3:38
SPEAKER_00: You just put them in and go.
• 3:40
  SPEAKER_00: Mines.
• 3:40
SPEAKER_00: I had a I had to work some magic to continue on the wonderful run that I was on.
• 3:46
SPEAKER_00: Like I had a bunch of stop spot starts.
• 3:49
SPEAKER_00: I don't even think my roster was recreated for the championship team.
• 3:54
SPEAKER_00: There's a lot of people that you pick up from the waiver wire just to throw them in.
• 3:59
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and I think that's one of the things that people struggle with the most is they always want to play a player that maybe has a not so good matchup or maybe he's been in a drought, but they have a big respectable name.
• 4:12
SPEAKER_01: Sometimes it makes more sense to get the dude with the super juicy matchup and the number one, you know, target priority or versus someone that you think is probably gonna be pulled out early because it's a blowout game, right?
• 4:27
SPEAKER_01: Keep in mind fantasy playoffs last week is gonna either be week 17 or it's gonna be week 18.
• 4:33
SPEAKER_01: And either way, those games are typically decided pretty early on whether you know they're actually gonna play the starters or not.
• 4:40
SPEAKER_01: So you could be in a situation where you get a stud and you can't even play him because he's being uh arrested, yeah, and then and then you gotta pick up that guy that's taking over the workload, right?
• 4:52
  SPEAKER_01: Or someone else.
• 4:53
SPEAKER_01: And you did that with your Corey Crosscube Mary, and that paid dividends, right?
• 4:58
SPEAKER_00: As soon as Chris Rodriguez was listed out, hurried up and picked him up because I know he was gonna get the workload, yes, sir.
• 5:05
SPEAKER_01: And then looking at your team overall as well, obviously, I'm able to pull it up right now.
• 5:10
  SPEAKER_01: Joe Burrow.
• 5:11
SPEAKER_01: So your team, you drafted Chase Brown, Kenneth Walker, Jonathan Taylor, George Kittle, and yeah, so those are your four draftees.
• 5:23
SPEAKER_01: You were able to trade for CeeDee Lamb, Chris Olave, which good call on Olave.
• 5:28
SPEAKER_01: He had an amazing year.
• 5:30
SPEAKER_01: Um, and then of course, uh Stefan Diggs and Jameson Williams were also added.
• 5:37
SPEAKER_01: So, overall, from what I'm seeing here, your strategy was make moves, right?
• 5:45
SPEAKER_01: What what what do you mean by that?
• 5:47
  SPEAKER_01: Make moves.
• 5:49
SPEAKER_00: Make moves is that um I guess get ahead of it.
• 5:54
SPEAKER_00: See if you're anybody in the waiver wire that looks like a potential pickup, somebody's better than your roster spot, trade away the people that you know you're gonna either not want to keep later on, and try to work some trades.
• 6:09
SPEAKER_00: Try to get somebody, try to get somebody else, ladies and gentlemen.
• 6:13
  SPEAKER_01: That's great advice.
• 6:14
SPEAKER_01: If you watch our channel, Sports Minds, I will tell you that we have a pretty good grading system on players where we're not always gonna be right, but we're right way more than we're wrong, right?
• 6:25
SPEAKER_01: Right now, I'm not saying follow us for daily fantasy.
• 6:29
SPEAKER_01: I'm not a fancy daily fantasy guy.
• 6:32
SPEAKER_01: Year-long fantasy is my jam.
• 6:34
SPEAKER_01: That's my Christmas morning, which Chris is just around a corner, right?
• 6:39
  SPEAKER_01: It's a couple weeks away.
• 6:41
SPEAKER_01: We got a couple drafts kicking off September 5th, right?
• 6:44
  SPEAKER_01: Champions League, Contenders League.
• 6:47
  SPEAKER_01: I do have a grading skill.
• 6:48
SPEAKER_01: One of the things you mentioned that I actually love is having that that schedule tracker.
• 6:56
SPEAKER_01: So, you know, I figured out like I looked at the first nine games of the season schedule, and then I looked at the last nine games, and then I looked at strength of schedule for the position, strength of schedule for the team.
• 7:08
SPEAKER_01: There's so many different like avenues you could take a look at, but that is one of the main ways I like to grade my players.
• 7:16
SPEAKER_01: So if you have somebody that's killing it up front, you know they have a bad matchup later on, sell high because that's the best value you're ever gonna get for those guys.
• 7:25
SPEAKER_01: Unless, of course, it's like your superstar status guys like Jonathan Taylor, you know, I'm on Ross St.
• 7:32
SPEAKER_01: Brown, Jameer, Jamar Chase, Jameer Gibbs, like those are guys you never even think twice about, you know.
• 7:39
SPEAKER_01: But uh regardless, we're gonna have another stream coming up over here.
• 7:43
SPEAKER_01: Did you have any uh closing credits or anything?
• 7:47
SPEAKER_01: Tell your feet pool out here.
• 7:49
  SPEAKER_01: Any shout-outs?
• 7:50
SPEAKER_00: Uh I guess a shout out to Manny to getting me into football because I wouldn't be in a fantasy football position or be a champion.
• 7:59
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you're welcome.
• 8:00
SPEAKER_01: I make champions, ladies and gentlemen.
• 8:04
SPEAKER_01: So I appreciate you guys.
• 8:05
SPEAKER_01: Thank you so much for tuning in for another episode of the Fantasy Football Fumble.
• 8:10
SPEAKER_01: It's your boy MJ coming at you with another banger.
• 8:15
SPEAKER_01: All right, take care, ladies and gentlemen.
