- 1:51We do have Thursday Night Football on air, our airwaves
- 1:55tonight. You can't be in front of your
- 1:57TV. Hockey gone wild.
- 1:58Air's from 6:00 until 7:00 and then the Patriots and The Jets,
- 2:02and that number's now up to 13 in some places, including Circa.
- 2:06That's a lot of points for an NFL game.
- 2:09Are you attempted? I am to.
- 2:11Take or give well. Come on, you know me, I'd be
- 2:14grabbing those points. You're taken.
- 2:16It's coupled with the divisional game.
- 2:18Yep. I just want to see New England.
- 2:21You mentioned that earlier in the week and I think it's a
- 2:23really good point because I've seen them, but it's on red zone,
- 2:25it's not paying. Attention.
- 2:27Yeah. It's not at the same level.
- 2:29Me too, really digging into this team, seeing how good is it just
- 2:32schedule base. But here's the other thing I
- 2:34thought of this yesterday, and we love to talk a lot about, all
- 2:39right, quality wins in college football.
- 2:41Who's got the best win? Indiana's got the best win.
- 2:43That road win against Oregon is as good as anybody, or what
- 2:46Alabama did against Georgia. And you're kind of stacking
- 2:48those up. Does anybody in the NFL have two
- 2:51better Rd. victories than what the New England Patriots have
- 2:55right now at? Buffalo.
- 2:56What was the other one? And at Tampa?
- 2:58Yeah, this week, past weekend. I mean those are two pretty and
- 3:02not just wins. Road victories.
- 3:04No, you're right. Tampa, the division leader,
- 3:07Obviously the Bills the overwhelming.
- 3:09Was there a a shorter price to win their division than the
- 3:12Bills were to win the AFC East prior?
- 3:14To the coming into the year coming.
- 3:15There couldn't have been. No, I don't think so.
- 3:17Because the AFC West people thought that the Chiefs were
- 3:19catching up. Yep, absolutely.
- 3:22Baltimore was still going to have Cincinnati because Borough
- 3:24was around, right? I I it has.
- 3:26To be Oh yeah, I I would guess it was pretty.
- 3:28Significant. Maybe No, because the commanders
- 3:31were a threat. Last year in Washington, yeah,
- 3:33people thought we're going to have another step forward this
- 3:35year. So yeah, probably, I would guess
- 3:37significant, the gap between them and everybody else.
- 3:41The Texans were the favorite in the South, but it wasn't that.
- 3:43Significant. No, because the Colts were, you
- 3:45know, a couple of points behind, but not significant.
- 3:47I haven't. Gone through and looked at
- 3:48everybody and who stacks up where, but I just I think a
- 3:51little bit about New England. I was taking a peek at the game
- 3:54and some numbers and when I did him, man, they got two really
- 3:57nice Rd. victories. Probably nobody else has
- 3:59anything like that, at least off the top of my.
- 4:00Head, I bet a patriot yesterday you did.
- 4:03Drake made to win the MVP. No, I did not.
- 4:05I I'm not going to go there because I because I believe I'm
- 4:09the Stafford. I don't say he's got it locked
- 4:11up, but this is a big game for for him and Darnold this week.
- 4:15I bet Trayvon Henderson to win the rookie of the year because
- 4:19I'm all over Ibuka and I got him a 28 to 1 great shape.
- 4:22Yeah, I feel that. But what, what if Henderson goes
- 4:24bananas? He and as he did last week, he's
- 4:2740 to 1. And now with the Jackson Dart
- 4:29injury, the concussions, yeah, he's done.
- 4:31Yeah, I. Thank you.
- 4:33He's he's not going to play enough games and he's had a heck
- 4:36of a rookie campaign. But I think it's right now Buca
- 4:39is an overwhelming favorite, but he just wanted a little coverage
- 4:43just in case. And I think Henderson now that
- 4:46Stevenson is out and I'm not sure how long he's out for, but
- 4:48how do you he's certainly going to get his opportunity.
- 4:51So I'm anxious to watch it just for what you said, just to kind
- 4:54of get a feel for this Patriots team.
- 4:56I don't think that they're the record says that they should be
- 5:01in the conversation amongst the best in the AFC.
- 5:03We both feel, I don't think I'm putting words in your mouth that
- 5:06the AFC is wide open that there's a handful of teams that
- 5:09can win. And we went over them yesterday.
- 5:11We left out the Colts at first blush, but they absolutely
- 5:13belong. But do the Patriots and and and
- 5:17again, we're not going to see them on their best night because
- 5:19they're playing The Jets. So I don't know what we can
- 5:22glean from it from what, but what I've seen from Drake, May I
- 5:26watch the I watch the buff? Was that a prime timer?
- 5:28It must have been 'cause I watched.
- 5:29It wasn't. Yeah, it was Sunday night.
- 5:30OK, and then that game hard to be not hard not to be impressed
- 5:35by by what you've seen. So for that reason, get a good
- 5:38look at the at the at this team tonight.
- 5:40So normally about this time of year and since we're talking to
- 5:43NFL, we thought about doing this on the way in today.
- 5:46We usually at some point try and pick who's going to be in Sunday
- 5:49Night Football a week 18 Fast forward too.
- 5:53You know, we're double digit weeks into the into the season
- 5:56now and try and come up with who NBC and who the NFL are going to
- 6:00want to put on on Monday night, Sunday Night Football.
- 6:03Because obviously you want the game to have playoff
- 6:05implications. You want as many eyeballs as
- 6:08this thing as they're possibly cancelled.
- 6:11I'll, I won't run through all of them.
- 6:13Detroit, Chicago got a chance. It I don't think it'll have a
- 6:17chance for the division. No, but a chance for Detroit to
- 6:21win the division, the Bears to get a playoff spot, yes, I think
- 6:24that's in the conversation. Yep, got to put that one in the
- 6:26mix of minimum. So I'm not, and the way I'm
- 6:28doing, I think both teams have to matter.
- 6:31That's usually what it is, right?
- 6:32And we've seen a few times where they don't flex to that sunny.
- 6:36Right. I think there's been one for
- 6:38sure. I think there's been two Tesla,
- 6:39OK, which is really disappointing.
- 6:42Come on. Just put a game there.
- 6:44I don't care, right? Charge.
- 6:46Here's the Broncos. Absolutely, without a doubt.
- 6:50I want to put the Rams in Arizona there, but I can't
- 6:52because the Cardinals don't matter.
- 6:53Here's 1 Green Bay, Minnesota. Will the Vikings matter?
- 6:56I don't think so. I.
- 6:57Don't think so. Either, but there is still a
- 6:59path. There is a chance for the
- 7:01Vikings schedule. What they still have is they sit
- 7:03at 4:00 and 5:00 on the season. The Vikings still in front of
- 7:06them. Obviously the Bears this week,
- 7:07but then after that they go to Green Bay.
- 7:10Not exactly a place that's easy to win, no.
- 7:12And then they go to Seattle. Do we have for that?
- 7:13Oh boy, They still have Rd. trips to the Commanders or
- 7:16excuse me, home for the Commanders.
- 7:18Road trip to Dallas. They can score at the Giants.
- 7:21I don't feel good about that. Home Lions.
- 7:24Home Packers. Yeah, I unfortunately, I just
- 7:27don't think it's the Vikings year.
- 7:28Heck of a run last year, not this year.
- 7:30I can't put the Commanders and the Eagles there.
- 7:32Washington Stakes. Here's one.
- 7:34Baltimore at Pittsburgh does this.
- 7:36Is this the? Does the winner of this game win
- 7:38the division? I think this would be if I had
- 7:40to come up with the clubhouse leader, I think this would be
- 7:43the one that I put at the top of the list.
- 7:44The most realistic scenario where this is going to matter.
- 7:48For one, both of the teams division could be on the line
- 7:51win and in loser out, which is always a good one too.
- 7:54When we get that scenario, and I think that could be the case
- 7:57here, two teams come in, both 8 and 8.
- 7:59Winner gets denied and eight gets the division.
- 8:01Loser goes home. Starts doing their draft.
- 8:03Work there is your betting favorite right there, Steelers
- 8:06and the Ravens, and you know it's going to be a three-point
- 8:08game. Yeah, yeah.
- 8:10And we'll see the and we'll see the game on Thanksgiving night
- 8:12with Burrell coming back. NBCS got to be doing cartwheels.
- 8:15And because they're, they've got, they've got Thursday Night
- 8:18Football on Thanksgiving. I can't.
- 8:21Well, maybe we should Seattle at San Francisco.
- 8:25It could be a playoff bid for San Francisco on the line so you
- 8:28can't cross them out. I don't think it'll have
- 8:30division implications, but it could have playoff implications.
- 8:33That one has to be on the list. I think the same thing for the
- 8:36Broncos and Chargers. I don't think the Chargers are
- 8:38going to get there, but could it be clinching the division for
- 8:40Denver? Could it be for a playoff bid
- 8:42for the Chargers? I think that's there.
- 8:44I don't even think you can cross off the Chiefs and the Raiders.
- 8:46And here's why, really. Because the Chiefs might be
- 8:49playing to get in. And yes, the Raiders will have
- 8:51nothing. They want, they want them.
- 8:53You know any opportunity to put Kansas City in prime time?
- 8:57The chances that happens. Decent.
- 9:00Good. I mean, if they're nine and
- 9:02seven, they put that game there if there isn't anything with
- 9:07bigger implications. Just because the people are, are
- 9:10the is this it for the Chiefs? Are they?
- 9:12Are the Raiders the team that's going to throw the final punch?
- 9:16It's a road trip so it's and I love what they've done here
- 9:19these last few years. All divisional games week 18.
- 9:23All Yeah, no, it's the way it should be.
- 9:25I agree. Tennessee, Jacksonville means
- 9:27nothing. And the Colts at Houston, Here's
- 9:29the sneaky one. This might be for the South,
- 9:31yes. And we've seen kind of some
- 9:32weird ones, knowing the NFC West was really down.
- 9:35We have the Rams in Seattle, both losing records, trying to
- 9:37play their way in a one season. So there's been some goofy ones
- 9:40there. Yeah, that's not exactly the
- 9:42most enticing national match. Yeah, I agree with you.
- 9:44If there's two others and, and this one's as meaningful as the
- 9:48other, this one's going to finish third.
- 9:49Yes, Yeah, right. Yeah.
- 9:51Because let's face it, where? Where do the Chiefs, or where do
- 9:53the Texans rather play their first playoff game, 12:00 on
- 9:57Saturday? He got.
- 9:58Mark Good and penned. It's the early window.
- 10:00It's the early window. It's the 3rd, 3:30.
- 10:02Well, 3:30. Yeah, you're right.
- 10:03The first game, though, that's how we kick things off with the
- 10:06Texans. If they're involved.
- 10:08We've seen that a lot of times. We do.
- 10:10All right, I'll get back to the NFL in the one O clock hour.
- 10:13I want to get to Audie Crooks because what a what a
- 10:15performance out of her last night.
- 10:17Here's the crazy part about it. As many as as well as she played
- 10:21as many points as she poured in a 43 of them, by the way, which
- 10:26is remarkable on 18 of 23 shooting.
- 10:29I think here's the most remarkable stat of the night for
- 10:31Audie Crooks. OK, she did it in 20 minutes,
- 10:34right? She did it in 20 minutes, scored
- 10:3743 and that is a school record. And there's been some talented
- 10:41women, women that have played there before.
- 10:43Look, I don't mean to know the history of them.
- 10:45I, I'm not going to try and fool you that I do.
- 10:47I absolutely do not. But there's certainly be some
- 10:50names that even resonate with me.
- 10:52But what this, this woman did yesterday, my God, I'm guess,
- 10:55I'm guessing Valpo's not going to contend in the Valley, right?
- 10:59But 43 points in 20 minutes the it's crazy.
- 11:05The box score, the 18 to 23. Yeah, just hit it inside, dump
- 11:09it in, easy turn to finish. Yeah, I'm guessing there were a
- 11:12lot of them inside 5 feet, right?
- 11:13And when you see her, you know, I go back to two years ago and
- 11:16that match up against Stanford, that was absolutely loaded.
- 11:19And they were right there. And now upperclassmen, her and
- 11:23Brown taking that step forward. Williams is a different kind of
- 11:26point guard than what they've had with her speed, her
- 11:29athleticism, this team. You said it earlier, and I
- 11:32wasn't so sure I was. Let's pump the brakes a little
- 11:34bit. This one does have a chance.
- 11:36I think it's going to be Fenley's best team.
- 11:39I'm anxious to ask him that. Let the season play out a little
- 11:41bit before we reach out to him and get him on.
- 11:44But I think I think it's got a chance.
- 11:47And she had to have had multiple opportunities to leave Ames.
- 11:50Oh, absolutely. You know the you don't think LSU
- 11:53is making a call? Of course.
- 11:54Yeah, of course some of the blue bloods had to come calling for
- 11:57Audie Crooks and I, I see her on fairway commercials.
- 12:00Yes. I don't know what else she's
- 12:02got. I remember when Portnoy was in
- 12:03town for for the what? What game was it?
- 12:07I was stating who? Whatever football game earlier
- 12:09this year he ran out to, he ran into her.
- 12:12He was looking for her. The pizza place and names were
- 12:16so famous, it put honey on the crust grains.
- 12:20God, I've been there a few times.
- 12:22I have not, so you're missed. Missed me on this one.
- 12:25Anyways, got great publicity there and with with Portnoy and
- 12:30her doing a little piece of what the Hell's the name of it?
- 12:34It'll come to me, but not nonetheless.
- 12:37Well done, Audie Crooks. Glad that you stayed.
- 12:38She's just a junior got another year left.
- 12:41You mentioned Jack Williams rather what a great addition to
- 12:43the team and obviously Addie Brown, which she brings and
- 12:47we'll we'll see where this team goes.
- 12:48Which leads me to Cyhawk. Great Plains.
- 12:51Great Plains. Thank you.
- 12:52There you go. No.
- 12:53Who who texted you? I.
- 12:54I just googled. It did you honey on the crust.
- 12:57Yeah. Great Plains.
- 12:59Yeah. It's good.
- 13:00It's good anyways, side Hawk. It's going to be really good for
- 13:05men. I think for men's game is going
- 13:07to be fun to watch, right? So is the women's, Yes.
- 13:10So is the women's. It's going to be outstanding and
- 13:13we'll get a look at Iowa tonight, actually on BTN, not
- 13:15BTN Plus. Oh, really?
- 13:17Against Drake? Oh, you know, I saw that.
- 13:20Now, no. Kate Dennebir has.
- 13:22She has graduated and exhausted her eligibility.
- 13:24But she's on the bench. Did I see that?
- 13:26I thought that she was maybe. Grat Assistant.
- 13:31Did grat assistant working their way into the coach I I saw a
- 13:33piece on her earlier. New look they lost to Creighton
- 13:37last over the weekend. Drake did by 9.
- 13:40But still just an opportunity to see this Iowa team against
- 13:44competition, a BIG4 match up the way it should be men, Otts,
- 13:50McCallum. I just, I think us as fans would
- 13:54prefer to see that I would. I get the argument, I understand
- 13:57it, but I just don't like. It but who loses?
- 13:59The fans. The fans this from my buddy
- 14:02Holdy. I'm not sure that Audie Crooks
- 14:05wants this out there, but I did. They know.
- 14:06Apparently she threw up pregame. Oh, really?
- 14:09And also in the first quarter and still poured in.
- 14:12So with this, remember the Jordan game when out in Utah
- 14:14when he was six in the Yeah, 43 points in 20 minutes.
- 14:18Audie Crooks, well done for for you.
- 14:21Good stuff. All right, Cyhawk going to be
- 14:24fascinating. By the way, Doctor Stephen
- 14:26Fuller has acquired some Drake Iowa State woman's tickets.
- 14:30Oh, nice for next week because I guess the family takes brings
- 14:34his team rather to the nap center.
- 14:35So early next week, I'm thinking probably Monday, will give you
- 14:39an opportunity to win those courtesy of our buddy Doctor
- 14:43Steven Fuller, fullerdental.net two locations.
- 14:46He's 29th in Des Moines and 8th St.
- 14:49SE in Altoona. That one is a week away.
- 14:53That'll be next. Thursday night, right?
- 14:546:00 Tip off for that one with the clones and.
- 14:58The and tickets, I guess all you could get was general admission,
- 15:01but it's the nap center. Is there a bad seat in the nap
- 15:03center? No, not at all.
- 15:04Right, You're going to be fine. You're going to be absolutely
- 15:06fine. Good stuff.
- 15:08All right, I want to ask you this because we talked, we
- 15:10talked about it all summer long and now we're going to find out
- 15:12the answer to this question tonight.
- 15:14The ALMVP in baseball is going to be announced tonight.
- 15:22Big dumper got a chance. He's got a chance.
- 15:25Has he got a chance? A legitimate chance.
- 15:27Getting there were a few things that had to happen and when you
- 15:31look back at the regular season, and we also have to put that
- 15:33this is just a regular season award, though Aaron Judge had a
- 15:36great playoff compared to his past performances.
- 15:39That doesn't matter. It doesn't matter that the
- 15:41Mariners got to the ALCS for what, just the second time ever
- 15:44that doesn't. These votes were in before the
- 15:48playoffs began. Right, which is probably why
- 15:50John Snyder didn't win the AL manager of the.
- 15:52Year. Oh, absolutely right.
- 15:53Yeah. I still think he should have,
- 15:55but. And Manager of the Year, is it
- 15:58that one that they should wait? Shouldn't the playoffs be a part
- 16:01of manager of the year? Or do you just get prisoner at
- 16:06the moment? And then it's just whoever makes
- 16:09the run or even wins the playoff series?
- 16:10And you get Rocco Bodelli a couple years ago and they, you
- 16:13know, won for the first time ever for for first time in 20
- 16:16years that they won a playoff series.
- 16:18And maybe you get that. Cal Raleigh switch hitter, 60
- 16:22bombs and he's a catcher. And he's a catcher, and he
- 16:25caught a ton. And he caught a ton.
- 16:26And he played a ton. I know that there's many
- 16:29metrics. WAR is the easiest one, wins
- 16:31above replacement that people use, and the gap between Aaron
- 16:34Judge and Raleigh is huge. It's significant.
- 16:36Yeah. It might be too much, Trent.
- 16:38I think it probably is. OPS plus a lot of the analytical
- 16:41numbers will say that this is an easy decision, but.
- 16:44This Cal Raleigh was a full time first baseman.
- 16:47It's an easy to. See.
- 16:48Oh, absolutely right. But the catcher component he
- 16:50also stole double digit. No, didn't realize, didn't
- 16:52realize they had big big. Dumper this year, what do you
- 16:55have for steals? I'm pulling it up, sure.
- 16:58I did 14 steals this year. I would have never guessed that
- 17:01in a million. Years caught stealing four
- 17:02times. How about that for the big man
- 17:04lumbering and Berlin his way into second base?
- 17:07This is though not most outstanding player.
- 17:10This is not best statistical profile.
- 17:14This is Most Valuable Player and this is argument I made for
- 17:18years and years and years. The value component to it.
- 17:22You take care and judge off. The Yankees are going to
- 17:23struggle. Are they still a playoff team on
- 17:28the fringes? On the if they would have had
- 17:30the full complement of pitchers, probably yes.
- 17:33But they didn't. I still think at minimum,
- 17:36they're in the race. Yeah, to be a playoff team.
- 17:38Sure, they're the Yankees. I mean, you talk about the then
- 17:41you look at you take Cal Rally out of that lineup that
- 17:44struggled for a long time and the lineup that you saw in
- 17:46October and even September was a lot different than what they had
- 17:50first five months. You're 100.
- 17:51Percent huge, huge issues what they want they spent money and
- 17:54got Suarez. They did some things to augment
- 17:56that Iran's arena. I mean, they, they did some
- 17:58things. However, before that he was
- 18:01keeping. Them afloat?
- 18:02Yeah, because Julio Rodriguez did not have a good year by his
- 18:05standards, right? It was a slow start and he
- 18:07turned it on, too. Just the depth of that lineup
- 18:10coupled with value, I use that word hugely important to me.
- 18:16And without Cal Rally, I don't believe they win their division.
- 18:19I don't think they're a playoff team.
- 18:21And without Aaron Judge, I think they're still hanging around.
- 18:24And because of that, that's why for me, Cal Rally's the MVP.
- 18:29I agree with you wholeheartedly. We're going to be wrong.
- 18:34It's going to be Aaron George. I hate to say it because I think
- 18:37this is one year and this isn't Karl Malone over Jordan.
- 18:40We got it. We can't give it to Jordan
- 18:42every. Year.
- 18:42Well, you could. Yes, you should have.
- 18:44Should have in hindsight. Right.
- 18:45And I but if they do give it to Raleigh, I don't think that this
- 18:48is we look back at this 10 years from now and not a judge.
- 18:52You should have given it to him in 2025.
- 18:55Cal Raleigh deserves it. He had 60.
- 18:57Yes. He had sixty home runs.
- 19:00That to me was the when he got past that and I don't have a
- 19:03ticket this I don't have there. It got nothing in the game on
- 19:05this in this market, MVALMVP market, but I think it's going
- 19:10to probably be judge. We shall see.
- 19:12What? What time is that tonight?
- 19:146 on MLB Network. MLB Network, yeah.
- 19:18Thinking through a little bit what we got going up this
- 19:20evening. Possibility, yeah.
- 19:22Skeens was the Cy Young winner unanimously.
- 19:25How about Skeens in school? Between the two of them, they
- 19:27had three offers out of high school, three offers.
- 19:31He's a lefty and a righty. Just a unbelievable, both of
- 19:33these dudes. All right, Jets and the Patriots
- 19:38tonight, again, you can hear the game here.
- 19:40We'll get back more into that in the 1:00 hour.
- 19:42I win USC, you know when we had our buddy Mark Colbrick, yes, on
- 19:47Culkin. Culkin from locked on Trojans,
- 19:50locked on USC, part of lock spell network and I forgot to
- 19:55ask him about the controversy from last week against
- 19:57Northwestern, the number controversy with the with the
- 20:01punter in the in the backup quarterback, the backup
- 20:04quarterback wearing the punter's number and pulling that one off
- 20:07and. I mean, is is is Lincoln Riley
- 20:10got any more of these up his sleeve for this Saturday
- 20:13afternoon at 2:30? I, I got a kick out of this
- 20:16comment. I heard Stanford, Steve of ESPN
- 20:18mention this. He said when he heard the story
- 20:21because they were out Friday night getting ready for game day
- 20:24and probably having a couple of drinks beforehand and he said so
- 20:27he didn't see it. But then when he first heard the
- 20:29story, he said he didn't have to tell me what coach it was.
- 20:31He knew it was Lincoln Riley. Really, I was watching it live
- 20:35and they didn't know the commentators and it was he's a
- 20:38left-hander and it was an absolute perfect pass.
- 20:41Probably, I don't know, 20 yards in the air.
- 20:43I'm thinking wow, for a puncher it's.
- 20:45Pretty good. It's pretty good.
- 20:47This is something that we saw last year in a bowl game.
- 20:49The difference in that one was they changed the quarterback's
- 20:53number to number 18 and the putter was 19, or vice versa.
- 20:57Change it to yeah, one of those two.
- 20:59So it was similar numbers. But not identical numbers.
- 21:02And not only that, an 80, yes, right.
- 21:05You know where it's just it's a weird number where it works
- 21:09incredibly well. By the way, that kid that made
- 21:11that pass you were, that was a guy that Iowa was looking at in
- 21:14the portal. This past year, yes.
- 21:17And so was he at USC, and he didn't.
- 21:19Transfer, he was somewhere else. Was he OK?
- 21:22And then ended up there cuz he's bounced around a bunch of
- 21:24different places. But that aside, what I saw his
- 21:27name was like, yeah, I remember this kid.
- 21:29Interesting. They know that they we're making
- 21:32a mistake, even regardless of what they said, they knew that
- 21:35they were bending the rules. Of course they did.
- 21:37They did it the week before in order to get that in the
- 21:39previous week's notes that number 80 was whatever this
- 21:43kid's name is. Did you see though that on top
- 21:47of it what US ES official football Twitter account did?
- 21:50No. Well, they put together a little
- 21:52skit, a little skit about numbers really, and two number
- 21:5680s making their way up to get a coffee.
- 21:58Now check that out during the break.
- 22:00Interesting. They're they're not backing down
- 22:02at all. They're they're they're
- 22:03relishing this. The other news college football
- 22:06wise, I don't know what it means.
- 22:08Obviously macros were talking about the AD at Baylor, who is
- 22:11the chairman of the College Football Playoff committee.
- 22:15He has left his post at Baylor and obviously he has left his
- 22:18post with the College Football Playoff committee.
- 22:22It's a, it's an embarrassing look for Mac Rhodes.
- 22:27But at the end of the day, I mean, it, it's it's
- 22:31embarrassing, right? For your, for your chairman to
- 22:33have to walk away. And apparently, I mean, he's had
- 22:36some physical altercations with players that's been admitted by
- 22:40both sides, including Rhodes. Bad luck, but nothing more.
- 22:45Where? Where are you with this story?
- 22:46Well, it's odd. And then you couple it with they
- 22:52have something else going on too with another committee member.
- 22:54Is it Randall McDaniel that had to take a leave and they just
- 22:58said personal reasons? I don't know.
- 23:01There's just something odd going around it.
- 23:04This committee thing. I like that they have football
- 23:06people on there. Yeah, I do too.
- 23:08I think that's important. I would like to have them see
- 23:11also somebody more analytical, not just football guys, but
- 23:15somebody and not betting just in a little a Bill Connolly, you
- 23:18know, a a person like that, that Jeff Sagarin, somebody that is
- 23:23more numbers driven. But that aside, a weird story.
- 23:27I think that's probably where it ends, right?
- 23:29The other thing about it is, is the Big 12 has come out now and
- 23:32they are recommending that his place on the playoff committee,
- 23:35not as the chair but his spot on the playoff committee goes to
- 23:39the AD from Utah. A Big 12?
- 23:42I don't understand that. I do, but I don't think it
- 23:45should be the AD from Utah. They're #13.
- 23:49It should be. Oklahoma State, Yeah.
- 23:51Jamie Pollard's guy or Jamie Pollard or just somebody that
- 23:55that doesn't I, that kind of has a bad look to it, doesn't it?
- 23:59Absolutely, yeah. Somebody that is involved, I
- 24:02think you're right, yes, we want more, another Big 12.
- 24:06Representative, but not a guy who's on the precipice of the
- 24:09playoffs. Sam Heward has Brock Heward's
- 24:11kid, apparently. The guy through the past.
- 24:13Let's get Thunder Joe and then we'll get a break.
- 24:15We will get to our buddy Lee Sterling.
- 24:16Coming up, paramountsports.com chicken coop giveaway give you
- 24:20an opportunity to participate that in about 20 minutes.
- 24:22Hello, Thunder Joe, how are you? How's it going?
- 24:25Sorry, guys, I didn't want to wait till April, but I got some
- 24:28Betty. OK, betting advice.
- 24:30Betting advice for you. All right.
- 24:32Right now, if you can afford $10, I know you guys got them
- 24:35deep pockets at the radio. Well, we're radio guys, you
- 24:38know, we're making, we're flush with cash.
- 24:41Put $10 on the Thunder to win 74 games to break the record for
- 24:451/6 of the way in, and then we'll get one loss.
- 24:49Right now you get great value at 170 to one.
- 24:52Really. What sports book has that?
- 24:54Where do you? Find that FanDuel Plus 1700.
- 24:59All right, plus 1700. Not too shabby.
- 25:02I'll be damned. And let me let me back this up.
- 25:05The last time I did some I put 100 on it.
- 25:08Good for you. I don't blame you.
- 25:09Yeah. Last time, last time I did
- 25:11something crazy like this, I put 250 bucks on the Blues to win
- 25:14the cup in 2019 in a bill no no in the hey in the middle of
- 25:20January when they were dead. When they were last in the
- 25:22standings. And get the last like, not just
- 25:26in the conference. No, in the standings.
- 25:29Yes, yes, yeah. 30 good for you. Now why would you bet the Blues
- 25:35what? What a Blues fan.
- 25:36And The thing is like they had just, they had just acquired
- 25:39Ryan O'Reilly. Yeah.
- 25:41And they made a coaching change. Chief took over, right?
- 25:44Craig Beruby. Beruby, they brought in Beruby,
- 25:47not over O'Reilly, because O'Reilly at the time was one of
- 25:49the best in the league. Yeah. 15 to 1 currently at
- 25:53FanDuel. 15 to 1. 15 to 1, I just bet on it.
- 25:56Now, I'll tell you what, because come April, I don't want you
- 25:59guys like, gosh, we should have listened to Thunder Joe.
- 26:01I'll Joe, I fired at it, and I'll buy you a beer when it
- 26:04comes home, all right? Good stuff, Joe.
- 26:05We got to run to break, buddy. Good to hear from you.
- 26:07Thank you. Appreciate it.

- 26:28you are in the state of Iowa, head to that station's website.
- 26:31There'll be a pop up box and type the keyword bank.
- 26:34That's your chance to win a grand.
- 26:35Sterling next. Miller and Condon, I'm glad
- 26:38you're with us as we talk sports with you on the Iowa Sports
- 26:40Radio Network. Alright, 1235, let's get right
- 26:51to at least Sterling. Paramount Sports,
- 26:52paramountsports.com. He joins us each and every
- 26:55Thursday. We're a little bit later today,
- 26:57Lee, our apologies. I know you run a tight ship over
- 27:00there. Let's.
- 27:01Get we're good. We're.
- 27:02Good. We're good.
- 27:02OK, Good stuff. Another big week, some great
- 27:06college, some phenomenal NFL. You want to start it off, Trent?
- 27:09Yeah, let's kick it off in a huge one in the 11 O clock
- 27:12window and Notre Dame has to win out to get that playoff bid at
- 27:1510 and two, maybe their most difficult game, probably their
- 27:18most difficult game here against Pittsburgh.
- 27:21The Irish car has been incredible this year.
- 27:23They have ripped off win after win after that O win.
- 27:25Two start laying a big number here though.
- 27:28Irish -11 in the hook. How many years would you would
- 27:32you guess that Patton Arduzzi's been a pit bumped up your head,
- 27:36boy? Nine, I was going.
- 27:38To say dozen. Right there, 11th this 11th
- 27:42year, Jeez, I'm this, you guys might think I'm crazy here.
- 27:46He's got a tough, tough schedule to end this season.
- 27:49So they're sitting at 7:00 and 2:00 now.
- 27:52They got to play Notre Dame here, then they got to play at
- 27:56Georgia Tech and then they got to play Miami.
- 27:59He loses all three and I think teams been playing great.
- 28:02Obviously they've won five straight games, found a true
- 28:06freshman quarterback that's amazing here in May financial.
- 28:10But if he loses all three, I think he's going to be out.
- 28:12I think they're tired of mediocrity.
- 28:13I think he's setting himself up and realizes that no name is
- 28:17that good. Notre Dame beating the last six
- 28:21opponents by an average of 26 points per game.
- 28:23Couple of the opponents at the time, Boise State, well thought
- 28:27of USC, Stillman, the College Football Playoff hunt beat them
- 28:30by double digits here. Their quarterback car, 23
- 28:34combined touchdowns, throwing and running.
- 28:36Think Love's going to go in the first round through the top
- 28:38running back. They're just that solid.
- 28:41Very few weaknesses here. I think they're going to lay one
- 28:44on PIT. If pit was on the road, I'd lay
- 28:4617 and take Notre Dame. But I think that they're going
- 28:49to pull away way late. I think they win this game 3520.
- 28:52Yeah, there's a lot of Pittsburgh love and I'm with you
- 28:54on this one, Lee. I think the Irish are destined
- 28:57Alabama and Oklahoma. Another big one.
- 29:00Let's get to this one. Alabama 6 point favorite over
- 29:03the Sooners. All right, So you would never
- 29:07think that Alabama would overlook LSU, but I think there
- 29:11was kind of like a Workman like job last week by their team
- 29:16played, you know, hard. But I think this is the game
- 29:19they want maybe even more because they were embarrassed
- 29:22last year, 24 to 3 in Norman, a different quarterback, Jalen
- 29:25Melrose was at the helm. I mean, what were they thinking?
- 29:29Not putting Ty Simpson in, but Oklahoma?
- 29:33I had them a couple weeks ago against Tennessee and I looked
- 29:36at my friends at the end of the game and they beat Tennessee and
- 29:38I said, you know what, they were not the better team.
- 29:40Just got lucky. You got to be honest with
- 29:42yourself sometimes here. And John Mateer before the hand
- 29:46injury, 303 yards passing per game, now 183 since the injury.
- 29:52I, I think the revenge is going to be huge here.
- 29:55And I think that Alabama, I mean, they're going to let it
- 29:58all hang out 3117 over Oklahoma. Yeah, Georgia and Texas, big
- 30:03spot. Texas still has Texas A&M coming
- 30:06up on Black Friday. This is a big spot.
- 30:08Georgia 6 1/2. Nice defense.
- 30:10Not as good as previous years, I don't think.
- 30:13Anxious to get your take on this one.
- 30:16So I love rematch games. Last year, one of the few times
- 30:20where you go, wow, I, I was on it.
- 30:23I thought Georgia was going to come in and lay it on Texas and
- 30:27they did. No one thought they were going
- 30:29to win that game last year. Everyone loved Texas.
- 30:31I think the team that the Longhorns were overconfident and
- 30:35the 3015 final score is not indicative of how much they
- 30:39dominated. Now all of a sudden shoes on the
- 30:42other foot. Longhorns are a desperate team
- 30:45given a little chance of pulling off the upset.
- 30:47Georgia I I saw one area who has them as a 91% chance of making
- 30:53the college football playoffs. So it's not like it is a must
- 30:56win game. They'll have to either win this
- 30:58game or Georgia Tech to make to the playoffs.
- 31:01Gunner Stocks is playing great. I mean since that last second
- 31:04drive at half against Auburn, he's looked flawless.
- 31:07Mike Bobo, who I think his play calling is usually less than
- 31:11than average, has been better. Improved, should I say?
- 31:16But here's the kicker. Texas has two weeks to prepare.
- 31:19I was Texas. I would pull apart and look at
- 31:22every single play that Gunner Stockton's played as a starter.
- 31:25I think you can find some spots where he's confused and you can
- 31:28scheme up some things. And on an offense, look what
- 31:31Louisville did against Miami. Came up with 25 new plays.
- 31:34They're even running the Wildcat.
- 31:36You got to let it all hang out here.
- 31:39I think they're desperate, and I think Arch Manning found some
- 31:41success recently. I have Texas winning straight up
- 31:4630. I love that I've been on Texas
- 31:48all week long and I got the worst of the number.
- 31:50As the Longhorns getting more and more as a week continues,
- 31:53let's go out to LA, Iowa on the West Coast place that has not
- 31:56been very good to them throughout the years.
- 31:59USC rain in the forecast up to two inches during game time in
- 32:05this one. Going to be wet at the Coliseum,
- 32:07where the Trojans are favored by 6 1/2.
- 32:10Yeah, I loved it a lot more before this, but it's going to
- 32:14certainly help Iowa if that's the case, might go from a play
- 32:18for my clients potentially to nothing at all.
- 32:21So if it does clear, you would think that USC, I mean, got a
- 32:27clear edge here. I mean, they still got a path to
- 32:29the college football playoffs that they went out there.
- 32:31They would be having like something like a 95% chance of
- 32:33getting in Jade my I mean 17 touchdown passes, 6 running is 2
- 32:40top running backs. King Miller, you don't think of
- 32:42them as a running team, but Miller and Jordan have a
- 32:45combined 1200 rushing yards, 10 touchdowns and they average 7.9
- 32:50and 6.5 yards per carry. Difference here is defense for
- 32:53USC past years. Last year 21 sacks, this year
- 32:57almost 3 sacks per game. So far they're averaging 1
- 33:02interception per game. And Iowa.
- 33:05Where are they mentally? I mean, they're done.
- 33:07I mean, the season's over pretty much in USC at home, 5 and O
- 33:11straight up four and one against the spread.
- 33:12The only non cover was a backdoor bomb of 75 yards with
- 33:16two minutes remaining for Michigan State, or else they'd
- 33:20be a perfect five and O against the spread.
- 33:22If the if the weather clears up, lay it and I'll play it USC
- 33:273120. If not, we're going to lay off.
- 33:30I'm hoping deep down inside that you have another wrong team is
- 33:33favored. The Chiefs are favored 3 1/2
- 33:35over the Denver Broncos. Yeah.
- 33:38All right. So the Chiefs have the better
- 33:40offense. We obviously know that, no
- 33:41question about it. And I don't think we've ever
- 33:44seen a team talked about as having so many problems on one
- 33:50side of the ball and have this kind of record crazy.
- 33:52It's been a long time, but Patrick certain the second looks
- 33:57like could be back coming back from injury and if he's back
- 34:01that makes the defense which is already very good into great
- 34:04maybe the best in the NFL. Think that they're going to be
- 34:10able to find some holes in and have your quarterback moving the
- 34:12pocket will help against the Chiefs pass rush.
- 34:15They've always had trouble with a mobile quarterback also and
- 34:19Denver's pass rush. If they can limit Patrick
- 34:21Mahomes, which I think they might be able to with that pass
- 34:23rush and tight coverage. I, I think this is A1
- 34:27possession, maybe a one or two point game here.
- 34:30So I'm taking Denver 3 1/2 points.
- 34:33I mean, for some places, even if they're behind by 7, 810 points,
- 34:40you can get a backdoor touchdown and cover here.
- 34:42But I think it's going to come down to one play and one drive
- 34:45at the end. I have never won in this game.
- 34:48Pulling off the upset 1716 over the Chiefs, It's the.
- 34:51Wrong team's favorite? There you go.
- 34:53Game of the week is a Big 12 tilt, Cincinnati and Arizona.
- 34:57If the audience wants more information on your Game of the
- 35:00Week, how do they find it out? Yeah, under the radar game.
- 35:04No one's talking about this game.
- 35:05Cincinnati's still alive to win the conference, getting the
- 35:08playoffs. So can they keep rolling as an
- 35:12underdog? They're better in the in the
- 35:14underdog role. They're they're in the favorite
- 35:16role here. So first five callers get it for
- 35:19free. Call that number right now
- 35:20800-400-9741 to get the Bearcats and the Wildcats 800-400-9741.
- 35:28And how good is the NFL been? Does 31 and 9 run last 40 games?
- 35:348 weeks of winning almost. That's like going 4:00 and 1:00
- 35:37every single week. So you want to hop on board.
- 35:40It's Lee's NFL Sunday Golden Ticket, Five games every single
- 35:45Sunday for a month, just $197.00 one place.
- 35:49Paramountsports.com. Talk to you next week.
- 35:51Thank you, Lee. OK.
- 35:53Thanks guys. Appreciate it.
- 35:54Lee Sterling paramountsports.com I personally don't think Sir
- 35:57Tan's playing, but we'll see. 1st 4 callers right now if you

- 36:18Iowa Sports Radio Network Commissioner Condon just dropped
- 36:23the hammer that's we had somebody trying to sneak in
- 36:28under the 30 day rule. Now Jay said it right away.
- 36:31He said he wasn't sure. He helped me out and then I
- 36:33looked through the I like my story.
- 36:35Better Commissioner Condon anyways, what does that mean?
