Speaker 2: You can think of a D six chord as a

Speaker 2: D major triad with an added six interval. So I'm
• 0:43
Speaker 2: sure you're familiar with your open D chord shape and
• 0:48
Speaker 2: with your open D chord shape. If you remove the
• 0:51
Speaker 2: dno on your B strings, that's what you normally play
• 0:54
Speaker 2: thro your ring finger on fret three of the B string,
• 0:56
Speaker 2: and then you play an open B string, you'll get
• 1:00
Speaker 2: the four notes necessary for D six or D major six,
• 1:04
Speaker 2: and that gives you the written of D the major
• 1:06
Speaker 2: third F sharp, the perfect fifth A, and the major
• 1:11
Speaker 2: sixth B, and you can use this as a substitute
• 1:17
Speaker 2: for D major that'll sound more hip and jazzy. You
• 1:20
Speaker 2: can substitute it for D major seven or D major nine,
• 1:25
Speaker 2: and it's also a useful chords transition to other chords
• 1:29
Speaker 2: like G A or B minor. Also, if you like
