- 3:00for all our shows is go to our website at
- 3:03www.worldwidesportsradio.com. Oscar Nebraska is more about the
- 3:12cornfields and hanging out over there and eating as many pieces
- 3:15of corn as you possibly can. You want to boil them, You want
- 3:18to roast them. I mean, has anybody tried
- 3:20roasted corn before? Because a lot of people haven't.
- 3:24Because I have a friend and I, we were at a BBQ I think a week
- 3:28ago was a week and a half ago and we went to this BBQ we were
- 3:31invited to and they were roasting corn and they, he told
- 3:36me he's never had roasted corn before.
- 3:37I said never had no. I usually have him in like a can
- 3:41or I'll, I'll eat it off, you know, corn on the cob.
- 3:43But if we boil it. So I said you've never roasted a
- 3:46corn before. He said no.
- 3:47This is the first time I've ever had it.
- 3:49So I guess he's hiding behind a rock or something because who
- 3:52has never had roasted corn? If you go to Dallas or you go to
- 3:56one of these cities that you know are big into BBQ, the first
- 4:00thing you're going to ask for is some roasted corn.
- 4:02That's me. I mean, it has to be extra
- 4:05butter on it because I, I, I can't eat corn without butter.
- 4:09I know it's it's so do you? Do you like it when you see the
- 4:12char on the outside or do you not want it when you see that?
- 4:15It depends. It depends on who's cooking it
- 4:17and, and, and it depends what I'm eating it with, you know, So
- 4:21if it's just plain old roasted corn, I I don't want any char on
- 4:26on it. But if it's I'm, I'm eating a
- 4:28steak or I'm eating a hamburger with it, yeah, why not?
- 4:31I'm not going to taste the difference.
- 4:33So and I to me, what I don't understand with people when
- 4:36they're eating corn, you're eating on a cob.
- 4:39That's why you're, you're when they're making, you're eating on
- 4:41a cob. Why do they seem to just like, I
- 4:44guess they use a knife and they not they use it to, to take all
- 4:47the corn off the cob. I mean, what is the point?
- 4:50They eat it out of a pot or eat it out of a can, you know, if
- 4:53that's the way you're going to go because the, the whole point
- 4:56of it is, is eating it off the cob.
- 4:59And, and I know, and one of the worst things I hate about corn
- 5:02is it getting stuck in your teeth.
- 5:05It happens all the time. So I, that's the only thing I
- 5:09hate about corn. And then I'm trying to floss and
- 5:12trying to get between my teeth and certain spots in your teeth,
- 5:15you can't reach it. It's the worst feeling in the
- 5:17world when you're trying to get that one piece of corn out of
- 5:20your teeth. So especially I, so I remember
- 5:24it was like it was a couple of years ago and I, me and Speedy
- 5:28were doing a show and my mom had my brother drop off corn and I'm
- 5:34just like such a corn eater. So I had 2-2 pieces of corn on
- 5:38the cob and I was eating it on the show when when Speedy was
- 5:41speaking or we would go to like a quick break.
- 5:45And one time I remember because it bothered the hell at me.
- 5:48I had this like piece got grinded up into one of my like
- 5:53teeth and I was trying to RIP it out during the show and it was
- 5:57so annoying that it started to it started to inflamed on one
- 6:00side of my mouth because it was sharp and my whole gum on the
- 6:05left side of my mouth got inflamed that I had to go to the
- 6:08dentist the next day because it got infected.
- 6:10So that was that was like 3 years ago.
- 6:12I'll never forget it. Could you imagine doing a show
- 6:15where by the way, if anybody watches my mouth move on my left
- 6:19side, on the left side of my mouth, it doesn't open as much
- 6:22as I'm on my right side is because my jaw when I was a kid
- 6:25locked when I was in I was in a hockey fight and I got punched
- 6:30in the jaw in the hockey fight and my jaw locked up and it had
- 6:33to be popped it back into place. And when it did I I've since
- 6:38then, I've always had problems with my jaw and speak it.
- 6:42If you watch me speak the left side, well, it's actually it's
- 6:45my right side on the right side on on my mouth.
- 6:48It, it doesn't open up as as as as high or whatever as long as
- 6:54my left side. So it's if anybody knows me and
- 6:57knows how I speak, they can tell.
- 6:59So just find facts on why I when you see me speak you, you can
- 7:05tell one side of my mouth all happens longer.
- 7:06Than that hey was your voice. Did it sound a little different
- 7:09before that happened? I don't know.
- 7:11They say sometimes when like you, you have like a jaw thing,
- 7:14like the way you sound things that comes out differently
- 7:17afterwards because obviously a very distinct voice, man, like
- 7:20everybody knows that listens to the show.
- 7:23And I, I just sometimes it's like, Oh yeah, there's a reason
- 7:27for that. You know, it could be something.
- 7:29I don't know. I I've always had a unique voice
- 7:32and I always was told by many different friends of mine,
- 7:35especially when they see me on a mic when I'm emceeing at a
- 7:38party, they're like, wow, you could tell your voice a mile
- 7:41away. Even I was at I, I said that I
- 7:44was, I was at the mall about a week or two weeks ago and I
- 7:46haven't seen my Barber. This is a Barber I used to go to
- 7:49when I was a kid. Haven't seen him in years.
- 7:51And I walked into the store as soon as I was speaking to my
- 7:53girlfriend, he turned around. He's like, I knew that voice,
- 7:56voice from a mile away, he says. I knew that as soon as you
- 7:59walked in, I knew where that voice was coming from.
- 8:02You have such a distinct voice, he said.
- 8:03And you have and I've been told by I and Eagle and many
- 8:06different people in the industry like you can't teach voices and,
- 8:10and and and you have a very distinguished voice and and
- 8:15distinct and, and that's what's so, you know, that's what makes
- 8:18you a little bit more different than everybody else.
- 8:20So I appreciate all the guys that and girls that have given
- 8:23me compliments over the years on on my voice.
- 8:25And, and it's not, that's what I'm worried about.
- 8:27My girlfriend for years is like, I don't think I have, I have a
- 8:31very nice nose, but it's not one of those beautiful, like, what
- 8:34are they butt noses? And my girlfriend always told me
- 8:37he's like, you know, if you went and got a nose job, you, it
- 8:40would make you even look more sexier.
- 8:41And I was like, you know, I was thinking about it and then I
- 8:43went to speak to a doctor and he was like, well, you know, if you
- 8:46get your nose fixed a little bit, you get it broken or re,
- 8:50you know, re broke, whatever, it could change your voice a little
- 8:53bit. So I, I get a little worried
- 8:55that I, I might, and I have a problem with my voice if I ever
- 8:58did something like that. So it's something it's it's, I
- 9:01guess you could say it's a food for thought, but I don't know if
- 9:04I'm going to eat any corn anymore while I'm doing a show.
- 9:07The New York Yankees Daily News Gary Phillips reported Sunday
- 9:11that both AL fielders Jason Dominguez and Spencer Jones are
- 9:15not likely to be on the Yankees opening day roster.
- 9:19GM Brian Cashman mentioned how Dominguez getting everyday reps
- 9:24is in the best interest for his development at 23 years old, and
- 9:29he is likely to start this season in AAA after the re
- 9:34signing of Cody Bellinger and Trent Grisham in the offseason.
- 9:39Dominguez will still likely compete for the final spot with
- 9:44the Yankees and the Yankees bench with the utility man
- 9:47Oswaldo Cabrera, but it will be hard to find a spot in the
- 9:53outfield with Judge, Grisham and and Bellinger already there and
- 9:57stand at the DH if the intention is The Martian to get regular
- 10:03reps. Manager Aaron Boone discussed
- 10:06trying Dominguez at center field, which is absolutely
- 10:09horrible, although he struggled in left field last season,
- 10:12eventually costing him playing time in late season and
- 10:17playoffs. Another top Yankee prospect and
- 10:21outfield dispenser, Jones is listed behind Dominguez on the
- 10:24Yankees depth charts. Cashman also was quoted saying
- 10:28that Jones is blocked in both the outfield and at first base,
- 10:33with them bringing back Paul Goldschmidt and still having Ben
- 10:37Rice and Austin Wells. Cashman added that he thinks
- 10:41Jones is instantly good enough to start for another team right
- 10:46now. If he trades, if he's traded,
- 10:50but still saying that the Yankees organization is the best
- 10:54for him in in his success. Between AA and AAA last season,
- 11:00Jones had a .274 average, a .932 OPS, 335 home runs and 80 RBIs
- 11:08in 116 games. I think it's an absolute joke.
- 11:15Absolute joke. If the New York Yankees decide
- 11:19to part ways with Spencer Jones, you have a young stud, a
- 11:23left-handed power hitter, and is the complete opposite of Aaron
- 11:28Judge. Now, I'm not saying he's Aaron
- 11:30Judge, but when Aaron Jones, when Aaron Judge was a first
- 11:33round talent, a lot of people thought he might not be able to
- 11:36hit me in in the league because he strikes out a lot.
- 11:39The same thing is going on with Spencer Jones now.
- 11:42He's changed his swing. He still hit 35 home runs last
- 11:45year and he still hit 80. RP is finding a guy that hits 30
- 11:49and 100 that his age is not. They don't grow on trees.
- 11:54As we said that about, you know, guys that came from the Mets and
- 11:57Mets decided to part away part part part ways with Pete Alonzo
- 12:02and he goes to Baltimore. Did they fill in his spot the
- 12:06right way after losing him? No, they added Simeons and they
- 12:09added Jorge, right? Polanco.
- 12:12I, I just, I, I and you're adding two players for one when
- 12:16you would have gotten Pete Alonzo probably cheaper than
- 12:19both of those guys. I, I just think that obviously
- 12:23the New York Yankees are bringing back Paul Goldschmidt.
- 12:26So Spencer Jones moved to first base.
- 12:28Doesn't make any sense, but why not try him there during the
- 12:31preseason? Why not try not, Why not try him
- 12:35in spring training to see if he can actually play at first base?
- 12:39And to say that Dominguez is is a better fit at center field or
- 12:42playing him out in center field. If he can't catch in left field,
- 12:45what makes you think he could catch in center field when he's
- 12:48got to cover more ground? It makes no sense, no sense.
- 12:52What it tells me right now with the New York Yankees is they're
- 12:55going to part ways with Spencer Jones.
- 12:56They're looking at him as a trade ship.
- 12:59And if that's the case, they better get a lot back for this
- 13:03kid because I think he's the best prospect right now in the
- 13:06Yankees, Yankees farm system. And we talked really a lot of
- 13:10different experts that we've had on the show.
- 13:12We've talked about who he is as a player.
- 13:15This kid could really develop into a star.
- 13:17Now, usually when the Yankees trade these guys, they never
- 13:21turn into anything. I just think about it, You look
- 13:23at the Mets and some of the players that the Mets have
- 13:25traded over the last couple of years, they have turned into
- 13:28something after they leave. Ask the Cubs, they got a pretty
- 13:31nice player right now in in what center field that can catch the
- 13:35ball and hit the ball. So I'm not saying that the Mets
- 13:38made the wrong decision. But when you go back in time and
- 13:41you you look at the Mets and how much money they've spent on guys
- 13:44like Juan Soto and and obviously the guys that they've brought in
- 13:48this offseason or even a guy that's playing third base that's
- 13:51never played third base in his career.
- 13:53And Bowl Bichette, you question if Ryan Cashman is putting this
- 13:58team in the right position for their future.
- 14:01Now, I, I didn't like the Grisham signing, but they didn't
- 14:05sign him for that long. I think they signed him two
- 14:07years. So it's not like they overpaid
- 14:09for a guy like Grisham. But Grisham is not an everyday
- 14:13player. And I don't care what the
- 14:14Yankees think of him and what kind of season he had this year.
- 14:17He is not an everyday player. If he was, a lot of teams would
- 14:21have pressed and made a move for him in the offseason.
- 14:24He didn't get a lot of money. He got a couple 20 something,
- 14:27$1,000,000 for a backup player. I think he was overpaid for the
- 14:31New York Yankees. Now I, I look at this team and
- 14:34this and, and the roster, this is still a roster that's top
- 14:37three in the American League. That's not saying much because
- 14:40if I look at the National League right now with the Braves coming
- 14:43back full strength and we'll see how how good they are and, and
- 14:46how healthy they're going to be this year.
- 14:48But the Braves have a very good farm system.
- 14:50I expect high, I think spec highly of the Graves this year.
- 14:54You know the Mets are going to compete, but if they don't choke
- 14:57at the end of the season, the Cubs are going to be good this
- 15:00year. I expect Saint Louis with the
- 15:02farm system they have and some of the players they're going to
- 15:05be bringing up will be a lot better than they were last year.
- 15:07So there are teams and especially in the Dodgers
- 15:10division, they have 3 competent teams that can play.
- 15:13The Diamondbacks are going to be good this year as we expect them
- 15:16to be. The Dodgers obviously adding
- 15:19another power bat in the lineup and the Padres, they're going to
- 15:23be good again this year. Bring it back, Mike Michael
- 15:26King. This is still a very good, very
- 15:28talented roster. What bothers me right now with
- 15:31the Yankees is does Brian Cashman actually know what he's
- 15:34doing? And when Brian Cashman is
- 15:36throwing young kids on the bus or saying that he would be
- 15:39better off playing, either either he's going to be blocked
- 15:43or he's going to, he's better off playing for another team,
- 15:44another organization. What does that say about the
- 15:47Yankees youth? Because let's, let's be honest,
- 15:49I think Volpe is going to be better than he was last year.
- 15:52But I'm am I putting all my eggs in Volpes basket when Aaron
- 15:57Judge retires or steps away from baseball?
- 16:00Is he the guy that I'm building my roster around?
- 16:02Is he the next captain, the next leader of this foundation of
- 16:06players that they're going to have in the future?
- 16:08The answer would be, as of right now, no.
- 16:11And Jason Dominguez is not the guy either.
- 16:13And the fact that Jason Dominguez is in front of Spencer
- 16:17John. We've seen enough of Jason
- 16:19Dominguez and what they call The Martian to say that he is a
- 16:23second to your player at best. I don't think he's going to be a
- 16:26star in this league. He's a switch hitter and
- 16:28everybody thought when he came from the Dominican Republic and
- 16:31how much the Yankees played, I'm sorry, paid internationally to
- 16:36bring him here. I think they overpaid him and he
- 16:39was they were overcharged for a player that really hasn't
- 16:41developed into the player and and Florida remember him.
- 16:44This is a guy that was a highly profile player, center fielder,
- 16:48up, up and coming superstar for the Yankees and the guy gets
- 16:53hurt, can't stay healthy and never really developed into the
- 16:56player that they thought he was going to be.
- 16:58Now he's bounced around and with different organizations, one of
- 17:01them the Boston Red Sox. And how does that, how did that
- 17:04benefit the Yankees and their foundation of youth in their
- 17:07farm system? This is a terrible, terrible
- 17:10take by Brian Cashman. And it just tells me that Brian
- 17:14Cashman is willing and able to just part ways with a a young
- 17:18stud, a young bat, which by the way, the Yankees haven't brought
- 17:21in since Aaron Judge. Think about it.
- 17:23They're the studs. They they brought in.
- 17:26We're all free agents, guys that were not part of the
- 17:28organization. Bellinger is not a Yankee.
- 17:31He came from the Dodgers organization before he jumped to
- 17:34the Cubs. So they're bringing in free
- 17:36agents. This they're doing what the Mets
- 17:37are doing right now and it doesn't work.
- 17:40You have a homegrown player first, strong talent that you
- 17:43can develop and bring them up slowly but surely.
- 17:46He's 24 years old. He's still fairly young.
- 17:49Why are you deciding, hey, you know what, we can get another
- 17:52piece. We can get a 1/3 baseman or we
- 17:55can get a a second baseman, A shortstop, and maybe we tatty
- 17:59them up and pair them up with Grissom.
- 18:01I'm not Grissom Jazz Jism and and himself and get themselves
- 18:08another superstar to play with the Yankees.
- 18:10I don't know right now if the Yankees actually know what
- 18:14they're doing and if Brian Cashman is the right guy to make
- 18:17that decision. If I was House Steinbrenner
- 18:19right now, I block any trades for a guy, a young guy like a
- 18:24Spencer Jones. I think Spencer Jones has the
- 18:27opportunity to be a star here with the Yankees.
- 18:29The porch is built for Yankee. I mean, his swing is built for
- 18:33the porch and Yankee Stadium. It doesn't make any sense.
- 18:35All that takes a Brian Cashman. And I know obviously I wasn't
- 18:39here when when you guys got a chance to interview Gary
- 18:42Phillips. So I wasn't here when that
- 18:44happened. I was in Florida.
- 18:45But Gary Phillips posting this and and bringing this story out,
- 18:49it only gets me to think that is this the last hurrah for Brian
- 18:54Cashman? Is Brian Cashman going to be
- 18:57parting ways with the New York Yankees if the Yankees fail to
- 19:00get themselves into the World Series this year?
- 19:02And the probably the answer is probably, well, yes.
- 19:05So maybe he's willing and able to move a Spencer Jones because
- 19:09he's trying to save his ass. He's trying to save his position
- 19:12as the GM of the New York Yankees.
- 19:14Or is he really trying to get himself fired?
- 19:17Because you're not trading away a piece, a young piece that
- 19:22everybody's been talking about. We have had experts on the show.
- 19:26We've had guys that have are scouts that have been very
- 19:29successful, that have scouted some great players in the in the
- 19:33MLB that have made it to the MLB and have and made it as a
- 19:37success, a success story as a player.
- 19:40And now you're hearing, oh, you know what, Spencer Jones, he's
- 19:4424 years old. Maybe we part ways, maybe we
- 19:46move him. He's blocked.
- 19:48He's probably not going to see the light of day this year as a
- 19:51New York Yankees because Dominguez, Jason Dominguez is
- 19:54blocking him. If it was Aaron Judge or if it
- 19:58was some other young stud that was playing in the outfield that
- 20:01I say, Yep, he's going to be blocked.
- 20:03There is nobody. You're going to tell me that
- 20:05Grissom Grisham or whatever the hell you call him, him and and
- 20:10Jason Dominguez is the guys that are going to block this kid.
- 20:14This is an absolute debacle for the New York Yankees and for him
- 20:17to come out and and and this get posted in the Daily News.
- 20:20If you're a Yankee fan, you can't be excited to the for the
- 20:24future the Yankees organization, especially in in their in their
- 20:28in their with their franchise. And what is that?
- 20:33They're they're young players. What what's that?
- 20:35The prospects? Not the prospects, the farm
- 20:37system. It would bother me if I'm, if
- 20:40I'm a Yankee fan, I'm looking at their farm system.
- 20:42And, and to me, Jones has been on top of their farm system for
- 20:46the last past two years now. Lombardi has been slowly but
- 20:50surely moving up. And it seems like he's the
- 20:52future shortstop or second baseman or maybe even third
- 20:55baseman of his team. But it would bother the hell out
- 20:57of me knowing that their farm system is been always been
- 21:01spoken about about this. This is the guy, this is the
- 21:05future. This is the left-handed power
- 21:07bat that the Yankees have been building up over the last 4-5
- 21:11years in their farm system. When they drafted him, he was 18
- 21:14years old. He's now going to be 24, right?
- 21:17I think he's 24 years old right now.
- 21:19And, and you're going to you're, you're saying that he's going to
- 21:21be blocked and there's no chance or unless he has an unbelievable
- 21:25spring training, which only tells me if he does that they're
- 21:27moving on from him anyways. It's a horrible take.
- 21:30I think if you're a Yankee fan, you can't be happy hearing this
- 21:34story that it could, It could mean Spencer Jones getting
- 21:38traded, maybe in spring training or before the season even
- 21:42starts. It's a terrible, terrible take.
- 21:44And I, I, I give a shot, I'll give a shout out to Gary
- 21:47Phillips for him to post something like this and know
- 21:49that there's going to be backlash maybe to him because he
- 21:52would post something like this. But obviously Brian Cashman
- 21:55getting all the backlash because it's, I think this is the less
- 21:59hurrah for Brian Cashman. Yeah, it's always looks bad when
- 22:02you're throwing 2 prospects under the boss in one statement
- 22:05too. Like Dominguez, it's obvious
- 22:06that they didn't have a plan for him because they wouldn't have
- 22:08brought Grisham back otherwise. Like maybe they were had some
- 22:11concerns with him so they had to feel like they had to replace
- 22:14Grisham in that center field realm and now you're going to
- 22:16say that he's going to play center field.
- 22:18Then why are you bringing Grisham back?
- 22:19Like, first of all, Bellinger is coming back, he's going to play
- 22:21center field and now you have a bunch of guys that can play in
- 22:24first base. Like Bellinger should play
- 22:26center field most of the time now.
- 22:27So why are you even bringing it up that you're going to
- 22:29experiment with him in center field?
- 22:30It's a horrible idea. Grisham would be the next option
- 22:33to play center field. He's not great there.
- 22:34But if Bellinger wants to, if he DH as a Stanton's hurt or
- 22:38something like that, or if he needs a day off, yeah, let him
- 22:40DH once in a while. Let him play first base and let
- 22:43someone else DH like there's other options and say, all
- 22:46right, we're going to throw Jason Dominguez, who was bad
- 22:48defensively with his vision in in left field as it is with
- 22:52because of his injuries, not as much range as he did at the
- 22:54beginning of his career. You're going to put him in
- 22:55center field. That's the first.
- 22:57You don't have to say that kind of thing.
- 22:58Like you don't have to say that we're going to thrust you in a
- 23:01role because that's a kind of guy that could lose confidence.
- 23:03And Spencer Jones, Spencer Jones has raw left-handed power that
- 23:06is sometimes hard to find as a homegrown player, probably
- 23:09outside of Joey Gallo. I don't I can't think of one
- 23:11that had like this much hype going into in the last 10 years,
- 23:15this much hype going into his prospect thing is just a raw
- 23:18power perspective. Obviously there's more flashy or
- 23:20five tool players like a Kuni and guys like that.
- 23:22But as a raw power guy, you don't have those kinds of
- 23:25things. And now all of a sudden you're
- 23:26saying, oh, there's no spot for him.
- 23:28So even if he does come up, yeah, he's going to be coming up
- 23:31his trade bait because and then you're going to toy with that
- 23:33and you're going to maybe get less value than you want to for
- 23:35him because you're being too cute with these prospects.
- 23:37Like Brian Cashman's a good eye of talent as there's a reason
- 23:41he's been there for a while. And obviously with the free
- 23:43agency, he's done pretty well. But when you're saying these
- 23:45things like that and getting too cute with these prospects, it's
- 23:47definitely not ideal. And now you're really putting
- 23:50pressure on one of them. Have to step up to make that
- 23:51statement look good by any means.
- 23:53And Jones has the capability of doing it.
- 23:54I'm a little less on Dominguez now, but you're right.
- 23:57Errol, like Floral was high on at the time.
- 23:59They got too cute with him. Clint Frazier I wasn't as high
- 24:01on, but he got they got he got he got he.
- 24:03So right now, if you look at their top prospects, all right,
- 24:07as far as hitting prospects at #1 is George Lombard, Lombard
- 24:13Junior. So he is the number one
- 24:15offensive prospect the Yankees have and he's a shortstop.
- 24:19There are stories coming out that the Yankees could move Obey
- 24:21to second base if they lose Jazz Chisholm or they trade Jazz
- 24:25Chisholm sometime this season. Then there's Alma Rodriguez.
- 24:29Cruz Spencer Jones is the third best prospect on this list.
- 24:33He's 24 years old and he probably has the most upside
- 24:36because Lombard is is a guy that everybody expects to be a good
- 24:40player. But again, they thought Volpe
- 24:41was going to be Anthony Volpe was going to be a superstar
- 24:43player at his position at shortstop.
- 24:45It hasn't worked out in the last two seasons.
- 24:48He had a great rookie season. He won Gold Glove his second
- 24:51year and then he's falling off now maybe as the yips.
- 24:54I don't know what's going on with Anthony Volpe, but I I
- 24:57think the Yankees are going to give him another shot.
- 24:59If if, if you would ask me right now, if you think that Lombard
- 25:04is going to be the guy or he's he's he's an option that you're
- 25:08going to move to shortstop. Shortstop.
- 25:10If Anthony Volpe has a good year.
- 25:11You move Anthony Volpe in a trade with a guy like Jason
- 25:15Dominguez or you move him in a trade with another name, a
- 25:18pitcher, maybe a Clark Schmidt or Will Warren, one of these
- 25:22young pitchers in their farm system that they can move on.
- 25:26You don't move a Spencer Jones, a left-handed power that fits
- 25:29the Yankee Stadium as far as what we've seen over over the
- 25:32years with left-handed power. He is he as far as what I don't
- 25:36care if he strikes out a million times if he has 40 something
- 25:40home runs and he gives you 80 to 100 RB is every single season.
- 25:45That's what the Yankees need in their lineup.
- 25:47That's what they need in Yankee Stadium. 82 games in Yankee
- 25:50Stadium. Those are the guys that you
- 25:51need. They don't grow on trees.
- 25:53And now all of a sudden you're saying that he's being blocked,
- 25:56that he is. He doesn't, as far as he's
- 25:58concerned, fit moving forward as as part of the future of the
- 26:03Yankees organization. That to me tells me that Brian
- 26:06Cashman, say, is really putting himself out there to say, well,
- 26:11guys, fans or even GM's or I'm sorry, not GM's, owners, I'm
- 26:15going to be free at the end of the season.
- 26:17The Yankees are moving me. It does.
- 26:19It does feel like he screwed up really badly, Errol, because
- 26:22they this is what he said to be in the office and remember this,
- 26:24we're 2 left-handed. So that's why he doesn't want
- 26:28Spencer Jones. That's another lefty LaGrange.
- 26:31He's a AA guy. They think he probably not this
- 26:33year. Dax Kilby was their was their
- 26:36first round pick. They like him a lot as a
- 26:38shortstop, second base type down the road.
- 26:41Lombard is only 20 years old and I want to talk about that with
- 26:45with Dominguez in a second because Dominguez is 2 1/2 years
- 26:48younger or two years younger than Spencer Jones.
- 26:51Spencer Jones is in his age 25 season and hasn't made it to the
- 26:54major leagues yet as a minor league player.
- 26:56That's not that's pretty old for a minor league hitter.
- 26:58Like as a pitcher, no, but as a hitter, it's a little old,
- 27:01right? And Dominguez has already got a
- 27:03year of experience at 23. So that that's that kind of says
- 27:07like Dominguez is further along in his development than Jones,
- 27:10even though Jones might have more power right now.
- 27:14Aaron I guess that's what they're saying.
- 27:15Just so you know, and just so the fans know, Aaron Judge is
- 27:18rookie's full rookie season. He was 25 years.
- 27:21Old, I understand. And they said when Judge came
- 27:23up, he was old for a rookie. That's what they said when he
- 27:25came up and boy. And change everybody's minds
- 27:27because he's the best player in baseball.
- 27:29So OK, but Aaron dodges once in generation.
- 27:32How do you know Yankees? Somehow How do you strike?
- 27:34Because his stats are better than anyone's ever done.
- 27:38That's that's three times in the last four years he's had better
- 27:41speeding. Could you bring up?
- 27:43Could you bring up Aaron Judge's numbers when he came out of AAA
- 27:46to the Yankees? I bet.
- 27:48You. They're a lot better than what?
- 27:49I don't know about a lot better. I don't know about a lot better.
- 27:52So here's the thing that they're going to say.
- 27:54Spencer Jones strikes out over 33% of the time, OK?
- 27:57And that's not something that you can do.
- 27:58Aaron Judge was going to strike out a lot, too.
- 28:00He. Was white but not nearly that
- 28:02much there's a certain level where you go off a Cliff and if
- 28:05you can't get on base and you can't you're striking out all
- 28:08the time you're not putting the ball in play you're not getting
- 28:09the RBIs you're not moving guys over and that's why that that
- 28:13whole guy like the the Adam Dunn the guy that just hits hits
- 28:16forty home runs and. He wasn't All Star and he was an
- 28:19All Star so. Just a couple of times, I'm not
- 28:22saying that, but Cashman that those type of players.
- 28:25Went Jason Dominguez will never be an All Star.
- 28:28He will never. Be.
- 28:28I don't know about that. You don't know how good he's
- 28:30going to be. I don't think he's any numbers.
- 28:32Say that that he's going to be good.
- 28:34I don't think he's any good. I I.
- 28:35Really. But the problem is Cashman
- 28:37screwed up the roster because they are like, oh, we're going
- 28:40to give the qualifying offer, the Trent Grisham, and we're
- 28:44just going to get corner outfielders everywhere.
- 28:46And you know, we're going to. Maybe we'll put Cody Bellinger
- 28:49in centerfield a couple of times.
- 28:51Maybe we'll put Aaron Judge in centerfield a couple of times,
- 28:53even though he's almost 35 and they're just going to keep
- 28:57piercing together the most important defensive position.
- 28:59BD you have the numbers. Instead, instead of putting
- 29:01Dominguez out there full time and letting us see what he has,
- 29:05because you're not going to see this way and you're going to
- 29:07have to trade him before you find out or you're not going to
- 29:09value and he might ruin them, which they've done to a number
- 29:12of guys, including our Co host who's not here tonight as well.
- 29:15All right, so Judge in the minor leagues had a 276.
- 29:18Last year when he came up, OK, when he came up.
- 29:21His last year, so that would be 2015 two 84 had 12 homers, 44
- 29:27RBIs and then 2016 right before he came up in the middle of
- 29:31season. 19 home runs, 65 RBI, the 270.
- 29:34Average I'm, I'm sorry, but I, I'm going to say Spencer.
- 29:37Look at the strikeout rate, though.
- 29:38The strikeout rate he's. About it 274 it doesn't.
- 29:42Matter He can't make contacts on majors, you can't stay as a.
- 29:45Left-handed power hitter. That's what he.
- 29:49Goes through all sorts of baseball history.
- 29:52If you strike out over a third of the time, you're not.
- 29:54Did he strike baseball? No one has ever.
- 29:56No one has. Ever.
- 29:57Speedy, What did he strike out? What was his?
- 29:59What was his rate? It's going to say something like
- 30:012728. Percent, that's still not good.
- 30:03That's still not good. It was 33 to 27.
- 30:05It was bad and which is why they didn't bring him up till he's
- 30:0820.5% point 5% and you're going to say oh.
- 30:12That's 5% that point. Whatever, 5%.
- 30:15Here's the thing. Here's the deal here.
- 30:17No, it's not. It really isn't in.
- 30:18Baseball when like 5%? More home runs.
- 30:22He had more home runs if he comes up this year, he had more
- 30:25home runs let his last year with the in the minor leagues and he
- 30:29had more RBIs than Aaron Judge in his final year in the minor
- 30:33leagues. I'm going with Spencer Jones.
- 30:35I'm not trading him away. You want to look at statistics.
- 30:37You're saying that there's going to be lightning Striker twice,
- 30:40yes and a guy I loved him. He's going to just magic.
- 30:43We're going to have two Babe Ruths.
- 30:44Yes, within. I don't think he's Babe Ruth,
- 30:46but I think he's going to be a great.
- 30:48Judge's numbers are Babe Ruth. S I'm going to tell you this,
- 30:51this is a guy that's going to hit 45 home runs.
- 30:53He might even come close to 50 home runs in a season.
- 30:56That type of player, he's going to hit over 100 RBIs, that type
- 31:00of player. I think this.
- 31:01Was 5.5 by the way for John? What is it 28.5?
- 31:0428.5. Was right 28.
- 31:06I was right. Four 4%.
- 31:07Oh my God. But I'm just telling you, nobody
- 31:09stays in the league over that's. Fine, and you want to know
- 31:11something? I'm going to tell you this right
- 31:13now. This guy looked like an absolute
- 31:15stud in spring. Training last year.
- 31:17I would give him a chance. I I just think they screwed up
- 31:20the complete roster construction.
- 31:23To me, Adam Dunn was a very effective player.
- 31:26It was a like a Gold Glover or like fringe Gold Glover.
- 31:29A couple of times he gets on base because he walks or strikes
- 31:33out or hits bombs. I like guys that get on base and
- 31:36walks as good as a hit. We learned that in the Moneyball
- 31:37movie. The problem is this roster
- 31:40construction of Cashman is stupid and they don't have the
- 31:44guy like Jazz is on the last year of his deal.
- 31:47In my opinion, trade one. You're not trading Grisham,
- 31:50you're not trading Bellinger. You just signed.
- 31:51So it's either Dominguez or Jones and you got to choose the
- 31:55right one because if they choose the wrong one, man is it going
- 31:57to look really bad for Cashman after.
- 31:59They need to keep Jones. I'm telling you right now, I've
- 32:02been saying this over and over and over and over again.
- 32:06They moved. This is this is going to be his
- 32:09RU nation. He's done.
- 32:11Because I'm telling you right now, Spencer Jones goes wherever
- 32:14he goes, he's going to be a star in in this league.
- 32:16I'm telling you right now, mark my words, this kid is going to
- 32:19be a star in his league. I've been saying it since he was
- 32:22drafted by the New York Yankees. I don't care if he hits, he
- 32:26strikes out four or 3 1/2% more than Aaron Judge.
- 32:29This guy has better numbers than Aaron Judge did in AAA.
- 32:33If he gets called up this year, his numbers are absolutely
- 32:36better than Aaron Judges. And I'm not saying you can hit
- 32:39lightning a bottle, but if you can get this kid to hit 250 in
- 32:43the major leagues and he's going to give you 45 to 50 home runs
- 32:47and he's going to give you a hundred 115 RPI's, those guys
- 32:51don't grow on trees. That's Ryan Howard number.
- 32:54So they don't grow on trees. You don't just oh, I just don't
- 32:57want them anymore. Or, or he's blocked by the
- 32:59Martian, who's done nothing, nothing.
- 33:03He's been in the league for 2 1/2 years.
- 33:05He can't stay healthy. I don't.
- 33:07I'm telling you right now, you trade Jason Dominguez and you
- 33:10give this kid a shot and I and what's going to happen is he's
- 33:13going to be in spring training. He's going to he's going to have
- 33:16another good spring training and the Yankees are going to move
- 33:18them. They're going to send them away
- 33:20to one of these teams that are going to get an opportunity like
- 33:23the Giants or somebody of that magnitude.
- 33:25And they're going to get themselves a stud, an absolute
- 33:29stud young guy that wants to play baseball in the majors.
- 33:33I don't care if he's 25. That doesn't mean anything to
- 33:36me. Aaron Judge came into league at
- 33:3825. There's a lot of great players
- 33:39that came later in their. I'm giving a 27.
- 33:42They, they come in later in their careers in their studs.
- 33:46This kid is a stud and the fact that they're blocking him and he
- 33:49has not played one game in the major leagues yet tells me that
- 33:53the Brian Cashman has lost his touch.
- 33:56Honestly, I believe Job is right about this.
- 33:59He is absolutely right about Brian Cashman.
- 34:02Now, Brian Cashman coming out and saying that he's going to
- 34:04block this kid from coming up to the major leagues because of
- 34:08Grisham, who's been a journeyman that nobody gives a crap about,
- 34:12and and Dominguez, who's been in a league for 2 1/2 years as
- 34:16switch hitter, that he's up and down.
- 34:19He can't stay healthy. That's what you're going to sell
- 34:21to the Yankee fan. Get out of here.
- 34:23You even. Have a true answer at first
- 34:24base. Like Goldschmidt was a sweat
- 34:26specialist, Rice and Wells had good flashes, but is there even
- 34:30enough consistent flashes? This is horrible.
- 34:32This is a horrible thought that as a Yankee fan, you know that
- 34:36probably your best prospects since Aaron Judge is could could
- 34:40be traded before, before the trade deadline or maybe before
- 34:44the season even starts. That's scary Yankee fans, if you
- 34:48are, if you really understand baseball and you understand what
- 34:53this organization has had problems doing and that's
- 34:56bringing up young power hitters. The last one since since they
- 35:02brought up right outside of Aaron Judge.
- 35:05Could you name the last power hitter that came up from the
- 35:08Yankees farm system? Could you remember?
- 35:11Does anybody remember Greg Bird was not a power?
- 35:14Hitter for what? For a year and a.
- 35:15Half hour, it wasn't to me. It was never a power hitter.
- 35:18I don't care what. That is year and a half of
- 35:19great. He's the first baseman that
- 35:21choked. I never, I never liked Greg
- 35:23Bird. I, I disagree.
- 35:24I don't. Think I just put problems.
- 35:26And he never thought, could you name the last guy?
- 35:29Because I can remember one guy, one guy who they, by the way,
- 35:32they traded for for another guy. It came up in the 90s.
- 35:36I couldn't tell you in this. Bernie Williams.
- 35:38Bernie Williams. Bernie wasn't a power hitter.
- 35:40He like 20 home runs a year, but he was a C30 hitter.
- 35:44For a center fielder, that's a lot of he's doing.
- 35:47Well, I mean, it's better than average for sure.
- 35:49But Bernie was like, the thing that kills me about Bernie is he
- 35:53was a good fielder in the beginning of his career, didn't
- 35:55have much of an arm, I guess at the second-half of his career
- 35:57and the range went down. I'm pretty.
- 35:58Sure, Bernie Williams had over 300 home runs.
- 36:01He he was like a 20. I don't, I don't know if he did.
- 36:04He had 2020 to 25 a year. He was that kind of guy.
- 36:07And he was a three. He had like 330. 287 he had
- 36:11almost 300 home runs. So if he played, what, 15 years
- 36:14times 20, that's like, that's like 300 right there.
- 36:17So the guy was all over it. He was a great player.
- 36:20I love Bernie Williams, I have his autograph on a hat.
- 36:22That guy's the best. You looking at the you looking
- 36:24at the Yankees farm system over the past, over the last 40
- 36:27years, they haven't had really a power hitter come up as good as
- 36:32Aaron George or even this kid. And now you're going to part
- 36:35ways with this kid, a left-handed power in Yankee
- 36:38Stadium in a short porch where this kid could Jack up 4550 home
- 36:44runs in a season. And you're going to say, well,
- 36:46we're blocking this kid because he doesn't fit right now on this
- 36:50roster. What are you nuts?
- 36:52This is a a horrible take. Horrible.
- 36:55By the way, a shout out to one of our new fans, Christopher
- 36:58Sewell in the comments section. He asked is it possible next
- 37:00year that we see Judge at 1st and both Jones and Dominguez in
- 37:03the outfield? No, I would see Bellinger at
- 37:05first because he's played there first.
- 37:07You know? Like I think he, him, and Rice
- 37:09and Goldschmidt are going to be in some kind of weird rotation
- 37:13and since they signed Bellinger, I'm assuming the plan is for him
- 37:16to eventually be the first base rotation with Rice and Rice gets
- 37:20off a catcher eventually. I just don't know if they have a
- 37:22catcher on the roster because I don't trust Wells really yet.
- 37:25I would. Move.
- 37:25That's the problem. I would move Austin Wells,
- 37:28especially at the trade deadline if somebody's looking for a
- 37:31catcher who can play first base, because I would move Rice as
- 37:35your everyday catcher. Now, I know Rice has had knee
- 37:38problems in the past, so is Wells, but Rice to me is the
- 37:42better. The better of the the hitters
- 37:44the guy hits for his on base percentage is way better than
- 37:47Wells and the guy has a better swing than Austin Wells.
- 37:51I would keep Rice. I would move Austin Wells.
- 37:53If you're going to bring in another pitcher, you're going to
- 37:55bring in another, you know, bat. I would move Austin Wells if
- 38:00you're trading Grissom and I would trade Dominguez.
- 38:02I would not move Spencer Jones. That is all.
- 38:06That is just horrible. I just and watch.
- 38:09I'm telling you guys, Yankee fans, remember I said this
- 38:11because I'm not wrong on my Yankee.
- 38:13He takes I'm I'm really never usually wrong about this.
- 38:17Spencer Jones is the real deal. I'm telling you guys this speed.
- 38:20How long have I been saying, how long have I been saying this
- 38:23kid? I've been saying that this kid
- 38:25is the guy. And and if they're looking for a
- 38:27guy that's going to take over for Aaron Judge in the future,
- 38:30that is the guy that is the guy a powered left-handed hitter who
- 38:34can do things. And by the way, also could play
- 38:37multiple positions in on the field.
- 38:40He could play first base and he could play on any position on
- 38:43the outfield. He's he's that fast.
- 38:45He's very fast. He could play center field, he's
- 38:47long. He could play right and left
- 38:49field. He is he could play, he could be
- 38:52a 512 player and he could steal bases too.
- 38:54So for Yankee fans to if I was, if I was all over the blocks,
- 38:59I'm attacking this. I am absolutely killing Brian
- 39:03Cashman and reaching out to Gary, Gary Phillips and telling
- 39:06him to post this crap and post that crap because as a Yankee
- 39:10fan, I'm pissed off on this take.
- 39:12I and I, I know Yankee fans like Jason Dominguez.
- 39:15What do you like about him? What is the thing that sticks
- 39:18out about Jason Dominguez that you have this love fetish for
- 39:22him? What is his numbers?
- 39:24What has been his numbers in the 2 1/2 years he's been in the
- 39:27league? Please give me his numbers
- 39:30because to me there is nothing. I watch the Yankees religiously.
- 39:33I go to Yankee games. This past year I didn't, but I
- 39:36usually go to 5 to 6 Yankee games.
- 39:38I, I watch them, I, I understand what it takes to be a star in
- 39:42this league. I don't care if he's a switch
- 39:43hitter. I to me it means nothing.
- 39:46I, and again, he he hits well against the Boston Red Sox, he
- 39:49hits well against Houston, and then he hits really bad against
- 39:53Kansas City. He hits really bad against the
- 39:55teams that he should be hitting against.
- 39:56What is his number? 248 for his career he's got. 16
- 40:00Home runs 58. And how many years?
- 40:02About 3. He came up late.
- 40:04He came up late, actually. More like. 2 How many RBIs?
- 40:06He came up 58. He is actually more like 2
- 40:09years. He came up late in 20. 3/2 and
- 40:101/2. Years.
- 40:11Yeah. Sixteen home runs, 58 RBIs, 327
- 40:14on base percentage and 29 steals.
- 40:15And what did he do in? What did he do in AAA?
- 40:18Bring up his AAA numbers and compare him to Spencer Jones,
- 40:23because I'm going to tell you this right now, his numbers are
- 40:25nowhere close to Spencer Jones. But Errol, the point is like he
- 40:27doesn't really in AAA because he was fast tracked as a kid.
- 40:31He was 19 years old. He was.
- 40:33He was. In AAA.
- 40:34He was in AAA. He was the Yankees.
- 40:36There is a 20 year old Darrell like look at this.
- 40:39Look at his age, 2021. 22 He was a.
- 40:42Rookie last. Year I know how old he.
- 40:44Is yeah 227447 home runs in 189 RBIs, 102 steals.
- 40:50And it's all. Korean How many?
- 40:51In 4 minor league seasons. That's not good in. 4 minor
- 40:54leagues. That's not good, guys.
- 40:56That's not good. All right, look.
- 40:57He hasn't done it yet, but you know, look, he's.
- 41:01Really. Are you selling me?
- 41:02Are you selling me? Jason Dominguez over Spencer
- 41:04Jones. Or workly if you're over 700
- 41:07OPS. He's 22, you're going to be a
- 41:10very good player and that's how it is.
- 41:12And they're they're always going to do this because they have
- 41:14more controllable years, Errol of a young guy than a guy like
- 41:18Spencer Jones. They just do.
- 41:20So why would you get rid of Dominguez when you can control
- 41:23him longer, pay him less, and then you could trade Jones and
- 41:27get just as much for him as you can for Dominguez?
- 41:29All right, so I'm going to tell you this.
- 41:31I'm going to tell you this because I I'm going to prove you
- 41:33to be wrong on this one. If the Yankees trade Spencer
- 41:36Jones and he turns into a star, I'm going to come back and I'm
- 41:39going to tell all you guys, all the people that think that Jason
- 41:43Dominguez is anything special. And I'm going to say you guys
- 41:46are idiots because I'm telling you right now Jason Dominguez is
- 41:50not better than Spencer Jones. I'm telling you right now he's
- 41:53not. I've watched enough of Jason
- 41:55Dominguez and here's another thing.
- 41:56Jason Dominguez never stays healthy.
- 41:59He doesn't stay healthy. I'm taking the guy that has a
- 42:03unique bodybuild, 6 foot 8 and that's naturally what people are
- 42:07looking at now. Look at the kid that's right now
- 42:10playing for the Nationals. Look at the his body structure
- 42:12and what he is as a player, 6 foot 8 power hitter.
- 42:16And he came up we, we see what he is in the in the major major
- 42:20leagues right now in the MLB. I'm telling you right now, this
- 42:23is this is horrible. I, I, I, I would if I was
- 42:26running this team or if I'm the, if I was owning the team, I'd
- 42:30fire Brian Cashman for just give me that.
- 42:32Giving that take to Gary Phillips.
- 42:34It's a horrible take and and to me seeing what Spencer Jones did
- 42:39this year and looking at his numbers and comparing them to
- 42:42Jason Dominguez in his time over there in the minors, I am taking
- 42:46Spencer Jones in a heartbeat over Jason Speed.
- 42:50Am I wrong? Am I wrong?
- 42:52I like his raw power with Jones and it's hard to find with a
- 42:54lefty too, so I'm willing to give him a chance as.
- 42:57Well, you block him. You block him for the garbage
- 43:00that you. Have the blocking is so dumb,
- 43:02but that's but that's Cashman for you.
- 43:03He's still there after that many years.
- 43:05No, No one else stays with a job that long in Major League
- 43:09sports. And it's still.
- 43:10Good and what if you're if you're Spencer Jones right now,
- 43:13how would you feel seeing Brian Cashman, your GM, come out and
- 43:18say that he's blocked because of a journeyman that you brought in
- 43:23and Grisham, who nobody gives a crap about Yankee fans could
- 43:26care less about and Jason Dominguez, who can't stay on a
- 43:30baseball field. Great, great take I I I love
- 43:34you. I love you.
- 43:36Thank you, Brian, for making me even more sicker to my stomach.
- 43:40It it's horrible. It's a horrible take.
- 43:42And I think the Yankees are making a terrible, terrible
- 43:44mistake. All right, ladies and gentlemen,
- 43:47we call this Speedy's 6 Pack of the Week.
- 43:51Let's have a sixer. Hey, who wants to play?
- 43:54Drink the beer. It's time for the Speedy 6 Pack
- 43:57of the Week. This.
- 44:01On a side note, you do have 7 beers in that photo.
- 44:04Yeah, one, one for extra emphasis.
- 44:06Speedy, the six pack coming at you.
- 44:09Speedy, we're going to go to Milan, give us 65 and four.
- 44:14I'm going. To busy old dates on but.
- 44:16For you right now, because this is the Olympic edition of the
- 44:20Six pack. I guess there's 5 Olympic rings,
- 44:22so it does average out. So 12 / 2 is 6.
- 44:24So I guess it all works out. All right.
- 44:26So the first three are all hockey.
- 44:27Well, we'll start with the US and Canada.
- 44:28They both finish in a #1 and #2 in Olympic group play record as
- 44:32well for Conor McDavid, 9 points already, which is already the
- 44:37Olympic record, not even including the knockout stages,
- 44:39breaking Sidney, Sidney Crosby's record in Vancouver and Austin
- 44:43Matthews leading the way for the United States with the last game
- 44:44with the two goals in that one. So that's the that's the first
- 44:47time. Finally scoring goals.
- 44:49Finally. So that's number six, number
- 44:51five, as is the women, they're both dominant as well, both of
- 44:53them finishing undefeated. USAA 31 to one goal differential
- 44:58in that one and five straight shutout clue for goalie Aaron
- 45:02Frankel and US five different players with seven or more
- 45:05points. Caroline Harvey leading the way
- 45:06with 9. And then the one you brought to
- 45:08me Fish at #4 The only unfortunate injury with coming
- 45:12with NHL players playing in the United States.
- 45:14Kevin Fiala will likely be out for the season the after the
- 45:17Kings just trade for Artemi Panera and one of their other
- 45:19top scorers is out for the year playing for for team Switzerland
- 45:24suffered a very gruesome leg injury.
- 45:26So he will be out the rest of the season, unfortunately.
- 45:29Tom Wilson shocker causing an injury.
- 45:35Errol, what do you got on Fiala getting going down with that
- 45:39injury in the Olympics? Which one?
- 45:41What are we? Talking the Kings, the Kings
- 45:45forward #2 scorer on the team before they got Pinera.
- 45:48Oh man. I don't know.
- 45:53You hope nobody gets hurt in the Olympics.
- 45:55You don't want to see somebody get hurt in the Olympics and you
- 45:57lose him for the NHL season. So I don't know, man.
- 46:03Yet, you know, we saw this, we're seeing this in baseball
- 46:06with like the WBC. They're not letting people
- 46:09compete in it for the insurance. It's kind of curious how hockey
- 46:12they don't have to worry about the same things because you
- 46:14would imagine it's a lot more dangerous to play hockey than it
- 46:17is to play baseball. You don't want to see, you don't
- 46:20want to see somebody go down and they're, they're playing for
- 46:22their country and they're not, they're doing for just to, to,
- 46:28to see your stars and stripes or whatever your flag get raised
- 46:31up. If you win this Olympic.
- 46:33And I know winning a gold medal is special.
- 46:36Winning any kind of medal is special.
- 46:38But you're playing for an organization that's paying you
- 46:40millions and millions of dollars and you go down and you could be
- 46:43out a significant amount of time that could cost your team making
- 46:46the playoffs or cost your team even losing in the playoffs or
- 46:51not even getting an opportunity to compete in the playoffs.
- 46:54That's that's a bad sign. It's a horrible thing to see.
- 46:57Fish I, I also saw something too, I think there were a lot
- 46:59of, there were only like 4 total Olympic athletes.
- 47:02That combined with their earnings and their insurance and
- 47:04everything they're getting, they're making over $1,000,000
- 47:06and only one of them was American.
- 47:07So it definitely had bad, bad luck for the the IOC to have to
- 47:11fix as well. They've been pretty corrupt for
- 47:13a while. We've had issues with FIFA in
- 47:14the past but they're not definitely not helping the cause
- 47:17either. All right, Speedy, give us 3 and
- 47:20#3 and number. 2 All right, so #3 I'm going to keep
- 47:22individually because the last two are the same sport and
- 47:24figure skating. So I'm going to go to Michaela
- 47:26Schifrin, the most well-rounded Olympian ever when it comes to
- 47:30downhill skiing. 15 World Championships, tied for the most
- 47:33for USA gold medals with four or total medals with four, but has
- 47:36not meddled yet so far in these games. 30 years old.
- 47:38We talked about with Lindsey Vonn last week.
- 47:40Is there going to be a bit of a decline?
- 47:41She has one event left. She'll win, she'll win.
- 47:46You have to believe she's going to win one of these, one of
- 47:49these events and she's going to get that gold medal.
- 47:52She's one of the best skiers to ever come out of here.
- 47:54And, and she's I, I remember 4 years ago what, what she did
- 47:58four years ago and winning all those medals.
- 47:59So I expect her to find a way and get that gold medal and
- 48:03she's got one more opportunity to do that.
- 48:05I think she's going to get. It yeah, she just broke a record
- 48:07too last year as well at the World Championships and this was
- 48:10coming off at 2024. She had that bad injury and she
- 48:12won even two more World Championships with that.
- 48:14I've kind of anyone. Kind of with you on that fish.
- 48:17Any thoughts before we move on to the figure skating?
- 48:19No, all I know is that I can't ski for my life.
- 48:22Every time I watch them do it, I'm that they don't get
- 48:26seriously injured. And then when they do get
- 48:28seriously injured, like we saw with Lindsey Vonn last week, I
- 48:30just go, yeah, that's why I'm never going to do that one.
- 48:33All right, so the last the last two number two and #1 are both
- 48:35in figure skating for completely different purposes.
- 48:38Errol and I watched it on Friday the quad God after powering his
- 48:42way for the US to win golden teams, then he has does not do
- 48:45as well in the individual finishing in 8th head.
- 48:47One really bad fall. He had one really bad jump even
- 48:49in the beginning of that. And so he does not meddle
- 48:51disappointing. They're at #2 and the number one
- 48:54is the biggest story Errol and I was talking about on Friday to
- 48:56the potential scandal that could be involved in the the pair's
- 49:01event with. With Matt Scandal, you know it's
- 49:03a. Scandal.
- 49:04Oh yeah, Madison Chalk and Evan Bates potentially robbed.
- 49:07So I'll bring up some numbers for this, for the So the French
- 49:10judge that were involved was involved in this, 7.71 points
- 49:16higher for the French, which no other track, no other judge had
- 49:20more than three at any difference in the differential.
- 49:225 out of nine preferred the US over the France.
- 49:26This judge, by the way, Jezebel Dubois has also done.
- 49:29This French, not the France the French have.
- 49:31Also done this of French five other international events,
- 49:34according to the site. Roll it off the tongue.
- 49:37Roll it off the tongue. Skatingscores.com the French, so
- 49:40that's. It roll it off the top the
- 49:41French. So a lot of a lot of scandalous
- 49:46stuff going on in the world of figure skating there.
- 49:48So thoughts on those two with the quad God and then with the
- 49:51scandal? I'm going to tell you this right
- 49:53now. That was horrible.
- 49:54And, and, and the kids 21 years old, he believes he's going to
- 49:57be in at least two more Olympics, maybe 3.
- 50:00He wants to compete as long as he possibly can and win as many
- 50:04medals as he possibly can. But he came out a gold winner
- 50:08really early in the Olympics with the team and he got a gold
- 50:11medal and he wasn't even going to do the the final, you know,
- 50:14his final program, but they needed him to do that for them
- 50:17to win the gold medal. And he did that and they won the
- 50:19gold medal and then just completely come up short.
- 50:22I mean, really short in 8th place didn't even win a bronze.
- 50:26He was expected to win the gold. He is the best skater to come
- 50:29out not only in the United States in the world.
- 50:33He's he, he does like 7 quads in his long program and he fell
- 50:37twice. It was horrible to watch.
- 50:39I, I got to give the kid a lot of credit even after all, after
- 50:43everything that happened to go over there and speak to the
- 50:45broadcaster, the anchor and give him his take and say that it, it
- 50:49just this, you know, I've, I've done it in so many places.
- 50:52I've done it in front of so many people.
- 50:53But the Olympics are different and I choked and I'll be back in
- 50:57four years and I'm going to fix. I'm going to fix what I what I
- 51:00done. So I it was good to hear.
- 51:02As far as the the ice dancing, that was horrible, horrible.
- 51:08And I not only I feel bad for the the the Americans because
- 51:13this was their final Olympics. This was their chance to win
- 51:16gold and bring gold home again. And now they end their careers
- 51:19with a silver win. They had by far the hardest
- 51:22program out of all the teams that were competing by by a long
- 51:26margin. And to see them get screwed by
- 51:28the French, why am I not surprised?
- 51:32Why am I not surprise? One more, one more bonus nugget
- 51:36on that too. There's been since 2002 eight
- 51:40other rulings like that of buying scoring.
- 51:42Three of them were by French judges as well, so they even
- 51:45have a history even before this guy too of manipulating.
- 51:48Apparently there's also a Spanish judge that's also under
- 51:50similar investigation too for rigging some of the scores
- 51:53against the US as well. Obviously their skater.
- 51:56I just wasn't even competing in that too.
- 51:57So a lot of fishy stuff. Bark there, bark, bark.
- 52:00So historically, like it always was like the French figure
- 52:04skating judge was going to screw you.
- 52:06Like that was the thing I remember when I was growing up,
- 52:08my mother would always be like, oh, the French watch out, the
- 52:11French judge is coming for us. Or be like the Soviet judge,
- 52:14because you know, the Soviets back in the Cold War days.
- 52:16We're going to try to to lean it out towards them.
- 52:19I think one of those guys got suspended for life too like.
- 52:21I'm sure they did. And you know, I'm like Russia
- 52:24was banned for years and stuff. So like, obviously these things
- 52:28happen and they obviously got screwed.
- 52:30Everyone knows they got screwed. They're not fighting it though,
- 52:32Errol. They decided not to fight it.
- 52:34They're just going to say we know we won, whatever it is,
- 52:37what it is. You.
- 52:38Got to give. Credit as far as the the Ilya
- 52:41Millinen kid. I saw that first skate where he
- 52:43clinched the gold for USA and the team won.
- 52:46He did this like front flip. I've never seen anyone do that
- 52:49on skates before. It was like A1 legged like
- 52:52forwards flip. Like I couldn't even describe it
- 52:54to you. I just know I'd never seen
- 52:56anyone do that. Before, not in a program, but
- 52:58after they retire and they, they do these like dance, you know,
- 53:01these dance things with Disney and stuff like that.
- 53:04I've seen a lot of, you know, ex, you know, skaters do it, but
- 53:08I've never seen it in competition.
- 53:10So it was. Pretty he just like threw it in
- 53:12after a bunch of like crazy ass moves.
- 53:14So like power to that guy. I hope we'll see him next time
- 53:17in a few years getting those championships.
- 53:19And that's the six pack for this week.
- 53:22Thank you to all the fans tuning and all the new fans, all the

- 54:09up our TikTok. We might as well even close that
- 54:11out because it's not going to be it's not doing it's not doing

- 55:38On no no no no wiping it is jobless department because he
- 55:40has to uses dude wipes. That's right, but you know, I, I
- 55:43want to leave it to this. A lot of hot ladies.

- 55:49Thursday. Sweetie, who do we?
- 55:50Have well, Java better be back on Thursday because we have a
- 55:52Husker coming out on Thursday. Huskers only.
- 55:54Yes. 1/3, 30 PM. Joining us is former Seahawks,

- 56:01Huskers only. Huskers only.
- 56:04By the way, thank you to Nith for getting us all these guests.
- 56:07He is sensational. He's doing such a great job on
- 56:10the back end. Our PR manager, he's hopefully
- 56:13not playing with himself. He doesn't have anything on the
- 56:15wall. So I'm thinking that he's maybe
- 56:17in a jail cell or something. I don't know what he's doing
- 56:19over there, but I, I like the he sent us a picture of his sofa
- 56:23and his nice little, you know, television, his big television
- 56:27and all set up. It's like the only thing in that
- 56:29room, but nothing's on the wall. There's no pictures.
- 56:31Why don't you have a picture of Lisa Ann on the wall?
- 56:34I mean, that would be nice. I mean, all that stuff.
- 56:36It would be beneficial, beneficial for you to there it
- 56:39is maybe a Shaddor Sanders picture, you know, maybe you
- 56:43know him wearing a Speedo or something like that.
- 56:46That would be cool. You know, you know a San
- 56:48Francisco 49ers, you know Speedo because he might be the fourth
- 56:52string quarterback before you know it over there like Kyle
- 56:55Shanahan or whoever is going to be coaching that team in the
- 56:57near future might be Dion. Sanders at this race.
- 56:59Dion Sanders, But here we go. No, no, no, no.
- 57:04Oh, there it is. There he is.
- 57:07When a gin and tonic, when the moon heats.
- 57:10I like gin. And tonic and chicken Curry.
- 57:12That's Amore, right? There you go.
- 57:16Little old myth has lost his, you know, whatever.
