- 1:01Speaker 5: few weeks of being out on the road and we're
- 1:03Speaker 5: done for a little while.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Love it.
- 1:05Speaker 5: How the shows they were fun shows. We went to
- 1:08Speaker 5: cool places. We went to places we've never been that'd
- 1:10Speaker 5: be fun, which is always a treat finding new places.
- 1:16Speaker 1: And yeah, yeah, I.
- 1:18Speaker 5: Had some good ones. Really followed some great weather.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Which was oh that's nice, that is it was cool, and.
- 1:24Speaker 5: Then came home and it was nice and yeah, I
- 1:27Speaker 5: think you missed like our super nice day though, right
- 1:29Speaker 5: did you come home the next day? The next day, yeap,
- 1:34Speaker 5: while the snow was melting. I missed that day.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Yeah, because there was that one day it got to
- 1:41Speaker 1: like seventy degrees here within a week, Matt two, like
- 1:45Speaker 1: two feet of snow and then seventy degrees. What's happening?
- 1:48Speaker 1: What's happening? Did I tell you what I did that day?
- 1:50Speaker 1: By the way, no, I forgot the next year. I
- 1:53Speaker 1: was going to text you a picture, and I never
- 1:54Speaker 1: did because I heard. I basically was like, man, it's
- 1:58Speaker 1: really nice out. So I took sit our buddy Brandon,
- 2:01Speaker 1: and I was like, what do you think about I
- 2:03Speaker 1: don't know, grilling me some burgers today? What do you
- 2:05Speaker 1: think about that plan? And he was like, sounds great,
- 2:08Speaker 1: come on down.
- 2:09Speaker 5: So we I do want to.
- 2:10Speaker 1: We hung out in the garage and we went and
- 2:13Speaker 1: got some burgers and Fixen's and made those up and
- 2:15Speaker 1: we had just loved that a nice little time. We
- 2:17Speaker 1: just had a nice little hang. Heck.
- 2:19Speaker 5: Yeah, man, yeah, I still have the grill dashed away,
- 2:23Speaker 5: but that would be nice to bring that up.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Yeah, he had to clean it out. It was definitely
- 2:27Speaker 1: the maiden voyage for this year. But yeah, it was great.
- 2:31Speaker 1: It was super fun and I was like, nice, thanks
- 2:33Speaker 1: for not really inviting me over I guess, but allowing
- 2:37Speaker 1: me to invite myself over there. It is. Yeah, but
- 2:41Speaker 1: we had a great time.
- 2:41Speaker 6: It was awesome.
- 2:43Speaker 1: That's great. Yeah. Man, have you been watching any films lately?
- 2:47Speaker 5: Yeah? So, just yesterday when I got home, the whole
- 2:51Speaker 5: family we decided to go to the theater and we
- 2:53Speaker 5: saw the new Pixar movie Hoppers.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Oh tell me everything. I haven't seen this yet, but
- 2:58Speaker 1: it looks so fun.
- 3:00Speaker 5: It was so much fun. It's about a kid who
- 3:05Speaker 5: loves animals and nature and she's able to become a
- 3:09Speaker 5: beaver through science and kind of an avatar situation where
- 3:16Speaker 5: her body is in one spot and like she's hooked
- 3:20Speaker 5: up to a gadget and her like being can be
- 3:23Speaker 5: inside this beaver exactly, and it is.
- 3:28Speaker 1: The beaver a robot or is it an actual beaver?
- 3:33Speaker 5: It's it's a robot, but it looks just like a
- 3:37Speaker 5: beaver and fools all the other beavers and animals and
- 3:42Speaker 5: can communicate with them, and it's it's a good time.
- 3:46Speaker 1: That sounds ripe for silliness, like it was silly. You know.
- 3:50Speaker 5: They're definitely throwing off some like environmental things and you know,
- 3:56Speaker 5: all that kind of stuff. But yeah, some really fun
- 3:59Speaker 5: voices in the here like Bobby moynihan, John Ham, Dave Franco,
- 4:04Speaker 5: Sam Richardson. We also get a very small performance from
- 4:08Speaker 5: the Queen Meryl Streep. Oh lovely, but yeah, man, I
- 4:14Speaker 5: would highly recommend it. So it went me Charlie, Lyddy,
- 4:19Speaker 5: Kelsey in the row and I heard so many cackles
- 4:26Speaker 5: from my wife way down at the end. She was
- 4:30Speaker 5: loving it, and the kids liked it, and I thought
- 4:35Speaker 5: it was it was fun. I felt like I felt
- 4:37Speaker 5: like I haven't like, really like to Pixar movie in
- 4:41Speaker 5: a little bit before it was like every single Pixar
- 4:45Speaker 5: was just a home run and I felt like we
- 4:47Speaker 5: haven't been there lately. But but yeah, another home run
- 4:52Speaker 5: for me.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Love that, love it into it.
- 4:55Speaker 5: Yeah, what was this movie?
- 4:58Speaker 1: You watched the to last week and saw Project Tail
- 5:03Speaker 1: Mary so excited about you haven't seen it yet.
- 5:06Speaker 5: I'm guessing haven't been able to see it. When we
- 5:09Speaker 5: get back from Duluth, we're going to do a little
- 5:13Speaker 5: little spring break trip up there. The day after we
- 5:18Speaker 5: come back, my folks are taking the kids for a
- 5:20Speaker 5: few hours and Kelsey and I are going to go.
- 5:23Speaker 1: Well, that'll be nice. You guys are gonna have a
- 5:24Speaker 1: great time. I won't say too much about it. This
- 5:27Speaker 1: movie is awesome. Everyone's talking about it so like, I
- 5:30Speaker 1: don't think that's a secret or anything. But as you
- 5:35Speaker 1: read the book as well, it's such a lovely adaptation
- 5:41Speaker 1: that I just don't see how anybody can be disappointed
- 5:44Speaker 1: by it.
- 5:45Speaker 5: It was that's awesome.
- 5:46Speaker 1: It was so good. It was. It was as good
- 5:49Speaker 1: as I could have hoped almost, you know, and and
- 5:52Speaker 1: in fact, the spots where they do take some turns,
- 5:56Speaker 1: I think for the better.
- 5:57Speaker 6: Honestly, in a lot of ways.
- 5:59Speaker 1: It's it's wonderful. I am kind of mad. I've only
- 6:03Speaker 1: seen it once, to be honest, Like, I'm ready to
- 6:06Speaker 1: go see it again and then watch it eight billion
- 6:09Speaker 1: times after that because it's well, I have to do
- 6:11Speaker 1: an episode on it, dude, Yes, I definitely want to
- 6:13Speaker 1: do that. We've even had a few people volunteer already.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Some of our friends have a volunteered, So yeah, I
- 6:20Speaker 1: would love to do an episode on it. I think
- 6:23Speaker 1: you're going to be absolutely on board after you watch
- 6:26Speaker 1: it as well, So I love it, okay, and go
- 6:28Speaker 1: see it. The Baby Goose is just so wonderful in
- 6:32Speaker 1: it and everyone else. I loved every second of it.
- 6:36Speaker 7: It was so great.
- 6:37Speaker 1: I loved it. That is wonderful, very excited for sure.
- 6:43Speaker 1: How about have you been streaming things? I have?
- 6:46Speaker 5: Yeah, I went to Netflix and I watched the second
- 6:49Speaker 5: season of The Man on the Inside. Oh, this is
- 6:53Speaker 5: that Ted Danson show?
- 6:55Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that okay? Yeah, but the.
- 6:57Speaker 5: First season of it, so, and I thought that was
- 7:00Speaker 5: a bunch of fun. And this season is also really great.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Yeah, it looked cool. I remember you talking about it
- 7:07Speaker 1: and I never checked it out yet.
- 7:09Speaker 6: That's fun.
- 7:10Speaker 5: It's super cute. I mean it's it's a Michael Sure show.
- 7:14Speaker 5: So he's responsible for the office and parks and rec
- 7:17Speaker 5: and Brooklyn nine to nine and the Good Place. So,
- 7:20Speaker 5: you know, really good track record on shows. And they
- 7:24Speaker 5: added some new characters this season, the most fun being
- 7:27Speaker 5: Mary stein Bergen, who of course has been married to
- 7:30Speaker 5: ten Dance and forever the best.
- 7:32Speaker 1: They're the best couple of all time.
- 7:33Speaker 5: I love them and it's wonderful like that's that's the
- 7:37Speaker 5: main reason why you should watch this second season.
- 7:39Speaker 1: So Mary Elizabeth Ellis has been in this the whole time.
- 7:42Speaker 1: That's fun.
- 7:43Speaker 5: That is that is his daughter.
- 7:46Speaker 1: Oh great, Yeah, I like her a lot too. Yeah.
- 7:51Speaker 5: She definitely had more of a role in the first season, ok, gotcha,
- 7:56Speaker 5: very minor role in the second season. Fun in at
- 8:00Speaker 5: a ton It's cool. And Gary Cole is in the
- 8:04Speaker 5: second season. He's fun our dude from New Girl.
- 8:08Speaker 1: He played Schmidt Max Greenfield R. Yep.
- 8:13Speaker 6: Love him. He's so good too.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Yep.
- 8:16Speaker 5: Man so a lot of a lot of fun characters
- 8:18Speaker 5: in the second season.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Uh, it's great.
- 8:21Speaker 5: This season he has to go undercover as a college
- 8:24Speaker 5: professor because there's like a scandal at the school he's
- 8:28Speaker 5: got to deal with. The first one he had to
- 8:31Speaker 5: go undercover at like an old person's home. Okay, and
- 8:37Speaker 5: so they're going to keep finding different reasons for him
- 8:40Speaker 5: to go undercover.
- 8:40Speaker 1: And kind of great though, because he can just put
- 8:43Speaker 1: him in, like, what's the weirdest situation we can put
- 8:45Speaker 1: him in this stuf.
- 8:46Speaker 5: He's just so much fun. He plays it so much fun.
- 8:50Speaker 1: It's great.
- 8:51Speaker 6: That's so good.
- 8:52Speaker 5: I would highly recommend. And they're they're short episodes. It's
- 8:54Speaker 5: just fun.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Just fly through them. Also, John gets is in this.
- 8:58Speaker 1: I didn't even know that guy was still around. That's
- 9:00Speaker 1: the the bio dad of Look who's talking?
- 9:07Speaker 6: That's what I know him from.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Her, like butt head businessman boyfriend that she dumps or whatever. No,
- 9:18Speaker 1: is he the guy she's dating?
- 9:19Speaker 5: That's sage Yes, that's yeah, okay, he was. I remember
- 9:26Speaker 5: him in Curly Sue.
- 9:29Speaker 1: Yeah, you're right. Wait was he even in Who's Talking?
- 9:34Speaker 5: He might have been like with somebody that she went
- 9:37Speaker 5: on a date with. You're totally the bio dad was Seagell, Like,
- 9:42Speaker 5: who's in like just shooting me?
- 9:43Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 9:44Speaker 5: Yeah, yeahs but kind of a similar look. Liker is patuit.
- 9:49Speaker 5: I love I love that.
- 9:50Speaker 1: John gets guy, but I totally got him wrong. He's
- 9:53Speaker 1: been in so many things though that it's.
- 9:55Speaker 5: Like he has and he just plays like an old curmudget.
- 9:58Speaker 6: Oh that's the best up. Well that's fun.
- 10:02Speaker 5: But yeah, if you want to check it out, it's
- 10:03Speaker 5: on Netflix. The Man on the Inside I do do.
- 10:06Speaker 5: What have you been streaming?
- 10:07Speaker 1: I was also on Netflix. I watched the I think
- 10:11Speaker 1: it must have just recently came out, the new Peaky Blinders,
- 10:15Speaker 1: The Immortal.
- 10:16Speaker 5: Man and that that's a movie.
- 10:18Speaker 6: Mo.
- 10:19Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, cool. I knew they were doing it, but
- 10:22Speaker 1: I didn't know anything about it. It was really fun.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Man like it. It is very much Peaky Blinders. It's
- 10:28Speaker 1: a fun It is sort of a it's a culmination
- 10:33Speaker 1: right of the of the show itself. And and that
- 10:37Speaker 1: character or Cillian Murphy is just the best. Is a
- 10:43Speaker 1: Killian or ciliant.
- 10:44Speaker 5: It's killing Okay.
- 10:46Speaker 1: I thought that in the n myself. I saw you.
- 10:48Speaker 1: I saw you. I am a dumb Killian's just great
- 10:52Speaker 1: in it, right of course, And he's just wonderful, and
- 10:55Speaker 1: you get to see like kind of a different side
- 10:58Speaker 1: of that character, which is fun. Rebecca Ferguson shows up
- 11:01Speaker 1: this in this movie, love her so good. Tim Roth
- 11:05Speaker 1: is in it, which is also really great and fun.
- 11:08Speaker 1: I feel like I hadn't seen him in a second.
- 11:10Speaker 1: And Barry Keyogan is in it, which I didn't know
- 11:13Speaker 1: at all. You said that, right, bro, Yeah, I got that.
- 11:16Speaker 6: I can say that.
- 11:17Speaker 5: I actually just heard that in an interview. It is Keyogan.
- 11:20Speaker 5: That's what he goes by.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Oh good, Oh well, yeah, I thought you were making
- 11:24Speaker 1: fun of me, maybe because I don't know how to
- 11:25Speaker 1: say stuff. No, you're all over it, I said, Barry, right,
- 11:28Speaker 1: that's what I thought. I thought you were s you
- 11:31Speaker 1: got Barry Guys but yeah, it was really good. Man.
- 11:35Speaker 1: It is very much Peggy Blinders. Like I said, so
- 11:38Speaker 1: if you liked the show, I think you're gonna like
- 11:40Speaker 1: the movie. It is incredibly beautifully shot, which I was like,
- 11:46Speaker 1: kind of taken aback by it. I don't. I probably
- 11:48Speaker 1: shouldn't have been, but I was just like, man, they
- 11:50Speaker 1: really like they put some money into this. This is awesome,
- 11:54Speaker 1: so really beautiful and interesting.
- 11:56Speaker 7: It was.
- 11:57Speaker 1: It was a fun ride. I had a really good
- 11:58Speaker 1: time with it, for sure.
- 12:00Speaker 5: It's been a minute since I've saw that last season.
- 12:02Speaker 1: Now, yeah, I don't know that you need to have
- 12:07Speaker 1: seen it. You need a refresher, Okay, I think yeah,
- 12:10Speaker 1: you probably could just find like a YouTube video or
- 12:12Speaker 1: something that gives you a little because you don't need
- 12:15Speaker 1: to know like the players, if that makes sense. Just
- 12:18Speaker 1: his the general like where they left off, and I
- 12:21Speaker 1: actual they explain that well enough because that same for me.
- 12:23Speaker 1: It's been a couple of years even since I think
- 12:25Speaker 1: we saw that, right, So yeah, I don't. I don't
- 12:30Speaker 1: think you need to worry about that part they walk
- 12:32Speaker 1: you through. But yeah, it was fun.
- 12:34Speaker 7: I liked it.
- 12:35Speaker 1: Nice dude, Yeah, check that out for show. What do
- 12:38Speaker 1: you think should we do. If you plug runs, let's

- 13:36Speaker 1: Yeah, and for this.
- 13:38Speaker 5: One, we decided to do our top five favorite hazing
- 13:43Speaker 5: or initiation scenes with the big disclaimer that hazing is
- 13:48Speaker 5: not okay.
- 13:50Speaker 1: We were like, I think we could probably do this,
- 13:52Speaker 1: but also is that gonna be a bummer? Yeah, like
- 13:56Speaker 1: you know, we'll just say it up top. We obviously
- 13:58Speaker 1: just a.
- 13:58Speaker 5: Lank Hey is bad. We should not be doing this.
- 14:03Speaker 5: It's been in many, many movies.
- 14:04Speaker 1: It is a fun movie trope, I will say, or
- 14:08Speaker 1: device maybe it's the better word, but yes. And I've
- 14:12Speaker 1: thought of some fun ones that I kind of didn't
- 14:14Speaker 1: remember for some of them.
- 14:15Speaker 5: So I didn't do great with this. I feel like
- 14:18Speaker 5: I came up with one. Okay, maybe people didn't think
- 14:22Speaker 5: of or see on the internet, but I wasn't feeling
- 14:25Speaker 5: great about this one.
- 14:27Speaker 1: It's so much better than you're giving yourself credit for.
- 14:30Speaker 1: I hope. So you're smart, You're beautiful, You're wonderful. Hey,
- 14:33Speaker 1: you you are.
- 14:34Speaker 6: Accepted here, Rob, thank you so much.
- 14:38Speaker 1: I nailed that one, beautiful. I couldn't say names, but
- 14:41Speaker 1: I nailed it. You nailed it. That's right. We're here
- 14:46Speaker 1: to talk about just the greatest movie of all time.
- 14:50Speaker 1: Perhaps I'm just kidding.
- 14:52Speaker 5: You were doing so well.
- 14:55Speaker 1: I hadn't pulled it up, so I couldn't tell you
- 14:57Speaker 1: what year it was and I panicked. Six So celebrating
- 15:01Speaker 1: its twentieth anniversary. We're here to talk a little accepted
- 15:05Speaker 1: with you folks, a fun little romp and uh, I'm
- 15:09Speaker 1: super excited to talk about this with you and with
- 15:13Speaker 1: our lovely guest because we have a we have a
- 15:15Speaker 1: young man here who's who is very accepting. I would
- 15:18Speaker 1: say he's a friendly man. He's a lovely, very very welcoming,
- 15:22Speaker 1: a firm huck. But you feel safe. You don't feel
- 15:25Speaker 1: clenched too hard, you know. Yes, it's nice, not a
- 15:28Speaker 1: big clencher. It's nice. It's nice. Well, let's give it
- 15:31Speaker 1: up for Nate's done.
- 15:34Speaker 5: What's up Nate?
- 15:36Speaker 7: Hi, guys? Oh gosh, oh hey hi.
- 15:41Speaker 1: How are you had to see you buddy?
- 15:43Speaker 7: It's good to see your faces. Long winter. Yeah, wait,
- 15:50Speaker 7: waiting to see you guys.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Yeah, man, love it. I love that.
- 15:54Speaker 5: Oh glad we're making this this work. It sounds like
- 15:57Speaker 5: you're on the tail end of a cold tailing into
- 16:00Speaker 5: RSV RSV.
- 16:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:04Speaker 7: It wasn't as bad as I thought I was going
- 16:05Speaker 7: to be. But it wasn't fun. Yeah, great, not terrible,
- 16:10Speaker 7: which is coarse, way better than COVID COVID. That makes
- 16:15Speaker 7: me feel like I have two percent of my battery
- 16:17Speaker 7: and it won't charge past it.
- 16:20Speaker 5: Yeah, dude, that won't charge. Yeah. That's the most tired
- 16:24Speaker 5: I've ever been for sure.
- 16:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:26Speaker 6: I'd like to avoid that if possible.
- 16:27Speaker 7: Yeah, Well, if you want RSV happy.
- 16:31Speaker 1: To get, come on over. Well I heard it's not
- 16:34Speaker 1: as bad those other things.
- 16:35Speaker 5: Did it go through the whole house pretty hard?
- 16:38Speaker 1: Or were you just the only one?
- 16:39Speaker 7: We just me Wow, we have a foreign exchange student
- 16:43Speaker 7: who's doing homework right here, you go, So I probably
- 16:46Speaker 7: got it from him from high school. Bring it high
- 16:49Speaker 7: school germs.
- 16:50Speaker 1: Back to that, damn it, hugo. Wait is this a
- 16:52Speaker 1: real thing or is this a bit that's real?
- 16:54Speaker 7: He's right here, he's doing homework with his earbuds and
- 16:56Speaker 7: and can't hear me.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Where's he go from?
- 16:59Speaker 7: He's from Spain, Madrid, students ways guitar and piano and
- 17:08Speaker 7: interested in recording.
- 17:10Speaker 1: Well he loves that place.
- 17:12Speaker 7: Then you just heard me, hmm, what's happening?
- 17:15Speaker 1: So why are you tonderful? Buena snow t you go?
- 17:20Speaker 1: I love that. That's fun. Eric said, we had foreign
- 17:23Speaker 1: exchansions when I was a kid, and it was always fun.
- 17:27Speaker 7: I like, can't I can't repeat that snow chest crinkle.
- 17:34Speaker 1: That's me.
- 17:37Speaker 7: Say that. If you smoke German, i'd be a little better. Yeah, well,
- 17:44Speaker 7: you know it's like foreign languages, so yeah, basically, yeah,
- 17:49Speaker 7: those Europeans are sorry three two you speak Italian with.
- 17:58Speaker 1: All? Right? Well, okay, I still don't know if you
- 18:02Speaker 1: goes real I can hear him.
- 18:04Speaker 5: I can hear him.
- 18:05Speaker 1: No, you don't need to. Did you say, hey, you go?
- 18:15Speaker 7: You go?
- 18:15Speaker 1: What's up? He's like, oh, they are what My.
- 18:18Speaker 7: Friend Lorenzo, which is from Italy also he understands me
- 18:24Speaker 7: when I speak Spanish because he oh, that's cool Spanish
- 18:28Speaker 7: in Italy.
- 18:29Speaker 1: Yeah, both romantic languages after all. Yes, nice.
- 18:35Speaker 7: Anyway, we're about.
- 18:38Speaker 6: To spike in Spain.
- 18:40Speaker 1: That's fun to spike listeners in Spain big time.
- 18:44Speaker 5: How long is that going to go on for?
- 18:46Speaker 7: Till the end of school early June?
- 18:49Speaker 6: Great?
- 18:49Speaker 1: How fun?
- 18:51Speaker 7: Yep, yeah, there was Abby. You found him. There was
- 18:54Speaker 7: a community post there. The previous host family was not
- 18:57Speaker 7: a great host family.
- 19:00Speaker 1: That happens. That happens.
- 19:01Speaker 7: We're looking for a new host family. And yeah, you
- 19:04Speaker 7: was like, heyar and Piano, you should come over.
- 19:08Speaker 1: Hey you like those things, dude. Yeah, that's great, a
- 19:11Speaker 1: fun place to very cool. Buddy. Well, you got an
- 19:15Speaker 1: extra mouth to feed in the house, so we want
- 19:17Speaker 1: folks to support you. Don't probably find Roads LLC handyman service.
- 19:22Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, I love that.
- 19:25Speaker 7: That's right, thank you.
- 19:28Speaker 1: Email Nathan Rhoads dot Stone. Wait, Nathan dot Roads dot
- 19:32Speaker 1: Stone at gmail dot com. That's correct if you're in
- 19:36Speaker 1: the greater Twin Cities area of Minnesota's whatever though.
- 19:40Speaker 7: Yeah. Yeah, probably not drive notes to, like you know,
- 19:43Speaker 7: South Dakota or anything, but.
- 19:46Speaker 1: You never know. Maybe if it's a really.
- 19:48Speaker 7: Good well come sing acapella.
- 19:52Speaker 1: Yeah, perfect, wonderful. Also keep an eye out for dumpster
- 19:57Speaker 1: Fire your band and other music stuff on the way
- 20:00Speaker 1: for everybody. That's super fun. Man. Yeah, you've always stayed busy.
- 20:06Speaker 7: You're not a problem for me.
- 20:08Speaker 1: Yeah. I wish I had any of that, but I don't,
- 20:12Speaker 1: and you know, it takes all kinds here, it does.
- 20:15Speaker 7: Well. We still need to tune your.
- 20:18Speaker 1: I know my auto harp thing. I haven't even played
- 20:23Speaker 1: it either, terrib.
- 20:24Speaker 7: Because it's out of tune.
- 20:28Speaker 1: That is true, although has that stopped me before? Yeah,
- 20:35Speaker 1: we do need to make that happen. For sure, for sure.
- 20:39Speaker 1: Uh well, what do you guys think? Shall we start
- 20:41Speaker 1: talking about this wonderful movie here? Yes? I think we should,
- 20:45Speaker 1: all right, Rob, you want to get a started with
- 20:47Speaker 1: a rough synopsy.
- 20:50Speaker 5: After receiving his latest college rejection letter, Senior Bartleby gains
- 20:56Speaker 5: devises a novel way to fool everyone into thinking he
- 21:00Speaker 5: is college bound open his own university. Bartleby and his
- 21:05Speaker 5: similarly stemied friends take over an abandoned building, create a
- 21:10Speaker 5: fake website, hire a friend's uncle, deposes the dean, and presto,
- 21:16Speaker 5: a school is born. However, they do their jobs too well,
- 21:21Speaker 5: and soon many other rejects try to gain admittance to
- 21:26Speaker 5: the nonexistent South Harmon Institute of Technology.
- 21:32Speaker 1: Love it, Love it great? Ready, thank you? Great read.
- 21:36Speaker 5: I feel like they were trying to mess with me
- 21:38Speaker 5: with some of the similarly stymied, really, like, what are
- 21:42Speaker 5: we doing, guys? You're just trying to mess me up?
- 21:44Speaker 1: None of those applicants to wouldn't think, Yeah, they had
- 21:55Speaker 1: a hard time for sure. Uh well, let's go to
- 21:58Speaker 1: Rotten's models in here what they have to say? Critics
- 22:00Speaker 1: This coming in at a rock solid thirty eight percent, Rob,
- 22:04Speaker 1: we are back, baby, we're back, baby. We got rid
- 22:07Speaker 1: of that stupid Best Picture winner and we're back. Yeah, dude.
- 22:11Speaker 5: The only movies that we've talked about so far this
- 22:14Speaker 5: year have been like that level of comedy and so
- 22:18Speaker 5: just way horrible, way lower, way lower. And then yeah,
- 22:23Speaker 5: last last week we did one battle after another which
- 22:26Speaker 5: brought it way up, and now we're back down.
- 22:28Speaker 1: We're back toilet. Although this is a good tweeter because
- 22:31Speaker 1: audience members have this at seventy two percent on Rotten
- 22:34Speaker 1: Tomatoes and that's very high. Yeah.
- 22:36Speaker 7: Yeah, it's definitely a cult classic, like absolutely specifically, Rob
- 22:43Speaker 7: your a few years older me bugs, how I think
- 22:45Speaker 7: you're we're the same age.
- 22:47Speaker 1: I'm like one year older than Wait, how old are you?
- 22:49Speaker 1: I'm forty.
- 22:51Speaker 7: I'm forty as well. I graduated.
- 22:53Speaker 5: Oh okay, bo, you guys are the same age.
- 22:55Speaker 1: We just figured it out and Rob's just like a
- 22:59Speaker 1: year or two already two two.
- 23:01Speaker 7: Years old, Jens one year older.
- 23:04Speaker 1: Correct, that's how that works.
- 23:05Speaker 7: Yeah, okay, so yeah, I think the four class is
- 23:09Speaker 7: like because this was releasing what six Yeah, so it's
- 23:14Speaker 7: like perfectly when I was in the thick of college
- 23:18Speaker 7: big time, and I'm pretty sure we had it on DVD.
- 23:23Speaker 1: Oh yeah, oh absolutely. Uh well, let's get in and
- 23:28Speaker 1: let's talk more about what we think of this one.
- 23:30Speaker 1: It's time for our hot take. Take a out. That's
- 23:34Speaker 1: a hot take that's at the kitchen with Yeah, the
- 23:39Speaker 1: spicerbs some really explosive herbs. Yeah, what does he say?
- 23:45Speaker 1: Some powerful flavors. Yeah, I'll take I nailed that one.
- 23:51Speaker 7: Good job.
- 23:52Speaker 1: I can go first on this one. I've always really
- 23:54Speaker 1: really liked this movie a lot.
- 23:56Speaker 6: This is a.
- 23:57Speaker 1: Movie that Rob and I have have bonded over. I
- 24:00Speaker 1: feel like and you probably were in there too, because
- 24:02Speaker 1: not a ton of people have seen this movie, you know,
- 24:05Speaker 1: outside of our like very specific age group. I feel
- 24:09Speaker 1: like this one was just missed by a lot of people.
- 24:12Speaker 1: But super fun. It's it's a coming of age movie
- 24:17Speaker 1: around college, a coming of age. It maybe doesn't age wonderfully,
- 24:25Speaker 1: you know, it's not it's not the worst. It could
- 24:28Speaker 1: be for sure that it's not Revenge of the Nerds
- 24:30Speaker 1: or anything like that, but it's it's not which one Dodgeball.
- 24:36Speaker 1: Yeah that is kind of tough to which.
- 24:38Speaker 7: Again, great movie, but it didn't age great. There's some
- 24:41Speaker 7: things in it. Yeah, yeah, we did that movie. But
- 24:45Speaker 7: This one definitely is.
- 24:47Speaker 1: Another justin longmow.
- 24:49Speaker 7: Oh yeah, good call well doctor.
- 24:55Speaker 1: Right before it. And this one like it's, like I said,
- 24:59Speaker 1: it's not the worst in the world. Like the thing
- 25:01Speaker 1: that I kept getting hung up on was the like
- 25:03Speaker 1: depiction of ad d in this felt like very old
- 25:07Speaker 1: to me, you know what I mean, I guess and
- 25:10Speaker 1: not in a It didn't completely take me out of it,
- 25:12Speaker 1: but I was like, jeepers, creepers, Like they made this
- 25:14Speaker 1: guy a psychopath, they really do.
- 25:17Speaker 7: They made it like a clinical issue.
- 25:21Speaker 1: Yeah, you need to be in or more like Tourette's
- 25:25Speaker 1: almost or something you know, which like you know isn't. Yeah,
- 25:29Speaker 1: it's super interesting, but yeah it's And honestly, Nate, I
- 25:34Speaker 1: know you will get this reference. Rob, I think this
- 25:37Speaker 1: was you were not in on this one. But this
- 25:39Speaker 1: really is kind of the college version of Camp Nowhere.
- 25:42Speaker 1: Did you ever watch that one?
- 25:43Speaker 7: Name?
- 25:43Speaker 1: My sister loved that one.
- 25:45Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, I think it's a perfect eye Jackson man.
- 25:50Speaker 1: But dude, it's like that it's a very similar theme
- 25:53Speaker 1: to Camp Nowhere, where they like come together, they go crazy,
- 25:57Speaker 1: but then they also like kind of do make a
- 25:59Speaker 1: great camp and learn stuff and you know, like each
- 26:02Speaker 1: other and it's great.
- 26:03Speaker 5: Is that Christopher Lloyd in there too. There's a bunch
- 26:06Speaker 5: of the Lewis Black of that film.
- 26:10Speaker 1: That movie.
- 26:11Speaker 7: There's a bunch of heavy hitters in that one too,
- 26:13Speaker 7: Like this is a star suded cast for a Yeah,
- 26:17Speaker 7: not a lot of people.
- 26:18Speaker 1: Know, yeah for sure, but yeah, that's kind of my take.
- 26:23Speaker 1: I still really enjoyed it on the rewatch seeing some
- 26:27Speaker 1: of these folks, like you said, Nate, you know, back
- 26:30Speaker 1: in early in their career, and it's there's funny jokes,
- 26:33Speaker 1: it's coming of age like, it's great. My hottest take
- 26:37Speaker 1: is Bartleby as the name of your main character is
- 26:41Speaker 1: a real that's a real move. That's a rough name.
- 26:44Speaker 7: It's a is a choice.
- 26:46Speaker 1: It's yeah, it's a firm choice. And I don't know
- 26:49Speaker 1: if I hate it, but I don't know.
- 26:50Speaker 6: If I love it either.
- 26:51Speaker 5: But Bartleby gains.
- 26:53Speaker 1: Bartleby gains. That's my hottest take though.
- 26:58Speaker 5: That's a hot take, bro, thank you, super hot. I
- 27:02Speaker 5: like this movie a bunch. I've watched it a few times.
- 27:05Speaker 5: Super solid comedy, pretty ridiculous plot that is just a
- 27:09Speaker 5: good time. This was the directorial debut of Steve pink
- 27:15Speaker 5: We have done an episode on another movie he's directed,
- 27:18Speaker 5: Hot Tub Time Machine.
- 27:21Speaker 1: Oh really yep, Well that's fun. Yes, I love that.
- 27:25Speaker 5: And he seems to have kind of transitioned to TV
- 27:28Speaker 5: now but has some more comedies in the pre production
- 27:33Speaker 5: that's supposed to come out the next few years. It's
- 27:36Speaker 5: written by three guys who between them have written Tower, Heist,
- 27:40Speaker 5: Game Night, and the Divergent series, so they're kind of
- 27:42Speaker 5: all over the place, wow, which is kind of fun.
- 27:47Speaker 5: But it was fun to see these actors just so
- 27:51Speaker 5: young twenty years ago. And at the time, man, I
- 27:56Speaker 5: really thought Justin Long was just going to be everywhere
- 27:58Speaker 5: after this movie, saying, and he had a pretty good
- 28:02Speaker 5: run there with the Dodgeball and waiting in this and
- 28:05Speaker 5: and he's still doing stuff for sure, But I just
- 28:09Speaker 5: really thought we were going to see him in more
- 28:10Speaker 5: mainstream things. Yeah. I'm a big fan of his, always haven't.
- 28:16Speaker 1: He's done a lot of run on New Girl, Yeah
- 28:20Speaker 1: New Girl, Yeah, really good run there.
- 28:22Speaker 5: And he's done a lot of the Kevin Smith movies,
- 28:24Speaker 5: which we love. But yeah, I just kind of thought
- 28:28Speaker 5: he was going to blow up more after this. But
- 28:33Speaker 5: a great supporting cast, like I said, a pretty ridiculous plot. Uh.
- 28:38Speaker 5: You know the fact that these folks are going to
- 28:40Speaker 5: be able to fix up an abandoned psych ward into
- 28:44Speaker 5: a fully functioning school with just a little noble grease
- 28:47Speaker 5: in a couple of weeks is really silly.
- 28:49Speaker 6: That's pretty great.
- 28:51Speaker 5: And it does some fun things. It highlights kind of
- 28:55Speaker 5: how messed up the college education system is, how politics
- 28:59Speaker 5: can kind of to get into that and work against
- 29:02Speaker 5: the student's college experience. Blake Lively's whole thing with wanting
- 29:09Speaker 5: to take a photography class and they're like, well.
- 29:10Speaker 1: Actually you should do like and that stuff happens.
- 29:13Speaker 5: You know, it's just annoying. You should be able to
- 29:15Speaker 5: go and learn what you want to learn. You're spending
- 29:18Speaker 5: so much money. But yeah, it was interesting that they
- 29:23Speaker 5: were able to get into that, and I definitely related
- 29:25Speaker 5: with some of that stuff. A lot of really great
- 29:29Speaker 5: lines in this, like one liners yeah, which is really fun.
- 29:34Speaker 5: But yeah, just an overall good time. I don't really
- 29:36Speaker 5: have any hot takes.
- 29:40Speaker 1: Can I ask you one thing?
- 29:41Speaker 7: Rob?
- 29:41Speaker 1: Yeah? Did you see what this? Steve pink I wrote
- 29:45Speaker 1: what are You write? He wrote the screenplays for both
- 29:48Speaker 1: High Fidelity and Gross Point Blank.
- 29:53Speaker 5: Two movies we've done too, John Keysack movies that we've
- 29:57Speaker 5: really liked, and I mean I adore high That is
- 30:01Speaker 5: the poster, right, I heard the tape.
- 30:03Speaker 1: I just saw it, and I was like, oh, I'm
- 30:04Speaker 1: kind of surprised you didn't see that, so I.
- 30:05Speaker 5: Figured I didn't it up. I was just looking at
- 30:08Speaker 5: the direct the director.
- 30:10Speaker 1: Stuff play for them both, I guess, so love that's interesting.
- 30:14Speaker 5: He didn't write this one at all.
- 30:17Speaker 1: Yeah, that is kind of interesting.
- 30:19Speaker 7: But yeah, sorry, I didn't make this connection till now.
- 30:22Speaker 7: But and qusax in this, so.
- 30:24Speaker 1: Yeah, sure, big QSC fan. He loves the whole family.
- 30:29Speaker 1: He celebrates their whole catalog, their whole catalog.
- 30:32Speaker 7: Such different all three of them, such different actors.
- 30:36Speaker 5: They really are so different.
- 30:38Speaker 1: And also you can tell they're all related. Yes, like
- 30:41Speaker 1: it's really it's fun, Yeah it is.
- 30:44Speaker 7: They really span the gamut.
- 30:47Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely, well hot take pal, Yeah, I love it.
- 30:52Speaker 1: Hey what do you got pal?
- 30:53Speaker 7: Well my hot take. I would argue that this is
- 30:58Speaker 7: a lost little gem. Part of it is because I
- 31:04Speaker 7: like this hit right when it needed to hit, Like
- 31:07Speaker 7: is such time, like such a vulnerable time for me
- 31:12Speaker 7: and growing period in my life that when this came out,
- 31:14Speaker 7: I was like Oh my gosh, this is fantastic, Like,
- 31:19Speaker 7: what's the movie. There's another one that came out, She's
- 31:23Speaker 7: Out of My League, around the same time.
- 31:28Speaker 1: Movie.
- 31:30Speaker 7: It's it's like a lost art form now. And I
- 31:33Speaker 7: don't know if you well, I'm pretty sure you guys
- 31:36Speaker 7: listen to SmartLess, but they talk about the lost art
- 31:38Speaker 7: of comedy now, like they just don't make movies like this,
- 31:42Speaker 7: and they don't like this, I would argue goes back
- 31:47Speaker 7: to the comedy of like just like nineteen seventies all
- 31:52Speaker 7: the way through like two that like late two thousands,
- 31:57Speaker 7: and then started to peter off. But it's so like
- 32:00Speaker 7: just slapstick, just dumb. It's not meant to be some
- 32:06Speaker 7: you know, there are so many plot holes, like there's
- 32:12Speaker 7: not a lot of you know, it's just over the
- 32:16Speaker 7: top dumb, and it's supposed to be over the top
- 32:19Speaker 7: and dumb, and I miss those kind of movies. I love.
- 32:24Speaker 7: I love this movie so much for that. And one
- 32:27Speaker 7: thing I noticed rewatching it is I actually rewatched it
- 32:30Speaker 7: twice before this I was kind of mad, but then
- 32:35Speaker 7: I had to take a step back and be like,
- 32:37Speaker 7: why am I mad? That's partly what makes the movie
- 32:40Speaker 7: create But his parents reaction. This is my hot take,
- 32:44Speaker 7: his parents reaction and him not getting into college the
- 32:48Speaker 7: week before college.
- 32:50Speaker 1: Starts, right.
- 32:53Speaker 7: Like part what you didn't get accepted to any colleges?
- 32:59Speaker 1: Yea not.
- 32:59Speaker 7: How had this conversation for the last two years.
- 33:03Speaker 1: Yeah, he graduated and they checked out.
- 33:08Speaker 7: They're so disappointed in him that it is so funny
- 33:13Speaker 7: as it's none of it Like, no parent, you'd be disappointed,
- 33:18Speaker 7: but this wouldn't be brand new news.
- 33:21Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, that's funny. I like that take.
- 33:24Speaker 7: So that's my hot take. It's just so over the
- 33:26Speaker 7: top and that I give all of the allowances for
- 33:31Speaker 7: plot holes and all the other things that kind of
- 33:35Speaker 7: fall through the cracks because it's really well written in
- 33:38Speaker 7: to Rob's point, there are so many good one liners
- 33:40Speaker 7: in it that I wish they still made movies like this.
- 33:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll take I bet they'll be back. They're going
- 33:50Speaker 1: to come around, oh for sure, mane. So all hot
- 33:55Speaker 1: takes all around, good job take. Let's talk about our
- 33:59Speaker 1: favorite acting performance. Shall we name the dude?
- 34:03Speaker 8: I'm the dude, so that's what you call me, you
- 34:06Speaker 8: know that or his dudeen or duder or you know
- 34:11Speaker 8: el dud reno if you're not into the whole brevity thing.
- 34:14Speaker 7: Hey, who you got for your dude, Well, my dude,
- 34:17Speaker 7: I'm gonna I'm gonna have to go adjustin long Yeah,
- 34:22Speaker 7: he is such a phenomenal comedic actor and a physical
- 34:28Speaker 7: like he's almost almost on the level of Jim Carrey
- 34:32Speaker 7: for his physical comedy, not in the same style, but
- 34:38Speaker 7: like even Dodgeball when he gets hit in the head
- 34:40Speaker 7: with a wrench like, yeah, Like his ability to just
- 34:46Speaker 7: do crazy stuff and make it seem believable is He's
- 34:54Speaker 7: just such a good comedian. And I was a little
- 34:59Speaker 7: when Rob had said that he thought he would do more.
- 35:02Speaker 7: I actually I had never thought about that. I I know,
- 35:09Speaker 7: he's done so many things that I've loved that I
- 35:11Speaker 7: have always just like, yeah, yeah, him up there. But
- 35:15Speaker 7: now that you say that, like I feel like, yeah,
- 35:18Speaker 7: he's an underrated actor.
- 35:21Speaker 5: Oh, big time underrated. I would totally agree with that.
- 35:24Speaker 7: Yeah, he's but I would give not.
- 35:27Speaker 5: A lot of mainstream stuff like it's you know, all
- 35:30Speaker 5: on this kind of level, you know, kind of call
- 35:32Speaker 5: classic all his stuff very much.
- 35:36Speaker 7: Those commercials are good.
- 35:39Speaker 5: Yeah, what was he was he like an apple?
- 35:42Speaker 7: Yes?
- 35:43Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it's part of the trivia that comes up later.
- 35:46Speaker 1: I call that point he was an Apple guy.
- 35:50Speaker 7: But no, I would give the dude to Justin Long.
- 35:53Speaker 7: I mean, it is a star studded cast, and.
- 35:56Speaker 5: If you a bunch of TUCCIESE yeah, a.
- 35:59Speaker 7: Lot of early people in their careers, a few like
- 36:03Speaker 7: well into their careers. I don't know how they got
- 36:05Speaker 7: some of them. Maybe it was just right timing. But yeah, no,
- 36:08Speaker 7: just as long as my dude. And it's not exciting
- 36:12Speaker 7: because he's the main character. But I thought he really
- 36:14Speaker 7: nailed it and brought it home.
- 36:16Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean I think it's gonna be a clean sweep,
- 36:18Speaker 5: would be my guess. He just commands the screen. He's
- 36:23Speaker 5: so charming, charismatic, he's funny, you want to root for him,
- 36:30Speaker 5: and yeah, made for a perfect lead in this movie.
- 36:32Speaker 5: I was extremely impressed with them, and like I said,
- 36:35Speaker 5: I wished he was in more mainstream things.
- 36:40Speaker 1: I think he's great. Yeah, it is a clean sweep,
- 36:45Speaker 1: I think, especially in this movie. I was struck by,
- 36:49Speaker 1: Like he's handsome enough that you believe that the ladies
- 36:52Speaker 1: will think he's handsome. He's charming enough, but he's also
- 36:56Speaker 1: like enough of a nerd and like enough of a
- 36:58Speaker 1: loser that you kind of believe that too, Like he
- 37:01Speaker 1: is kind of everything in this movie a little bit right,
- 37:03Speaker 1: like because he is also super smart, but you know,
- 37:07Speaker 1: like but a dummy, Like he's kind of a lot
- 37:09Speaker 1: of things. Yeah.
- 37:12Speaker 7: Yeah, he's gonna mow the hot girl's grass because she
- 37:17Speaker 7: that's what he did growing up, like because she's his neighbor.
- 37:21Speaker 7: But like yeah, yeah, you know, she feels comfortable and
- 37:26Speaker 7: maybe we'll get into that later that that's right, no here, Yeah,
- 37:32Speaker 7: he really covers a lot of a lot of space.
- 37:36Speaker 1: Yeah, it's really fun and just yeah and and everything
- 37:40Speaker 1: else you guys said, super fun. Yeah, so yeah, he's
- 37:44Speaker 1: my Dade. Nice.
- 37:46Speaker 5: Well, why don't we go and talk about some of
- 37:48Speaker 5: these supporting roles and let's choose the tuch.
- 37:54Speaker 1: We got for this one.
- 37:55Speaker 7: NT choose a few, Yeah, this.
- 38:03Speaker 5: One, you'll choose one in you and you'll like it.
- 38:07Speaker 7: I gotta go. Uh no, I'm gonna go with Jonah Hill.
- 38:14Speaker 7: Very early in his career, but he is clearly a
- 38:18Speaker 7: talent at this like, yes, very talented, very funny, great
- 38:25Speaker 7: comedic timing, and he plays the role like I don't
- 38:31Speaker 7: want to say this is a precursor to super Bad
- 38:33Speaker 7: because that came out in two thousand and eight, but
- 38:34Speaker 7: this is kind of like, yeah, and I don't probably
- 38:41Speaker 7: think anybody thought about it, but this is kind of
- 38:43Speaker 7: like a precursor too super Bad into that role because
- 38:48Speaker 7: this role has some similarities for sure, where he's kind
- 38:52Speaker 7: of that nerdy but kind of mouthy, like the kid
- 38:58Speaker 7: who has too much confidence for being overweight in high school.
- 39:02Speaker 7: But he's like the kid that you just want to
- 39:05Speaker 7: love but also tell to shut up. Yeah, like sure,
- 39:09Speaker 7: he just has so many lovable qualities and he really Yeah.
- 39:16Speaker 7: I thought he was fantastic and was a great supporting
- 39:20Speaker 7: role for justin long being his best friend. Yeah, yes,
- 39:25Speaker 7: and I thought they both jive really well together, so
- 39:29Speaker 7: they did. I was going with Jonahill for that one.
- 39:31Speaker 5: Dude, love that absolutely, we're two for two. I would
- 39:35Speaker 5: have for all the reasons you said, And he's the
- 39:37Speaker 5: person who's saying most of those great one liners.
- 39:40Speaker 1: Yeah he really is.
- 39:41Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 39:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 39:42Speaker 5: My runner up though, was that Adam Hirshman is Glenn
- 39:47Speaker 5: loved such a goof dude. That's another guy who I
- 39:52Speaker 5: saw that movie. I was like, that guy is hilarious.
- 39:56Speaker 5: We're going to see him everywhere, never seen him again.
- 40:01Speaker 6: I didn't really.
- 40:03Speaker 7: He was up there for me. And well when Rob
- 40:07Speaker 7: texted me about or you guys texted me and yeah,
- 40:11Speaker 7: I literally my meme back. Was it to the group
- 40:14Speaker 7: or you Rob?
- 40:15Speaker 1: I think it was just me.
- 40:16Speaker 7: Yeah, Robin asked me something about timing when to record this,
- 40:19Speaker 7: and these days were go with what you feel. I
- 40:26Speaker 7: don't know why that specific line is stuck with me.
- 40:29Speaker 7: That is literally stuck with me.
- 40:32Speaker 1: It's fun.
- 40:33Speaker 7: I saw this movie and it is such a meal line.
- 40:37Speaker 7: It's not even one of the biggest quotes of the movie.
- 40:40Speaker 5: Dude, you are the king of the deep cut quotes.
- 40:45Speaker 1: It's really.
- 40:48Speaker 7: Because it's such a class I mean, I've literally been
- 40:51Speaker 7: backing up a trailer so many times in my life.
- 40:54Speaker 7: Or like we're at the cabin, my dad's attempting to
- 40:57Speaker 7: back something up and he's not going to back you know, trailers.
- 41:01Speaker 7: That line is like me.
- 41:03Speaker 1: In that moment with what do you feel?
- 41:07Speaker 7: Because my dad runs into the woodpile. Yeah, perfectly, He's
- 41:13Speaker 7: so good.
- 41:15Speaker 1: That's great. Great, that's a great one. Uh you want
- 41:20Speaker 1: to say more, Robbert? You want me to say mine,
- 41:22Speaker 1: I want you to say yours?
- 41:23Speaker 7: Oh?
- 41:23Speaker 1: Great? Uh oh, this is hard.
- 41:28Speaker 5: I think I'll go Maria Thayer here, that was your
- 41:31Speaker 5: number one?
- 41:33Speaker 1: No, my number one was Jonah Hill for there we go.
- 41:35Speaker 5: That's what I wanted to hear.
- 41:38Speaker 6: I didn't say that.
- 41:39Speaker 5: What was your number two?
- 41:41Speaker 1: Number two? Hard? I don't know if i'd have gone
- 41:47Speaker 1: Hirshman or not. A might have gone Maria Fayer. I
- 41:50Speaker 1: thought she was really good in this and kind of
- 41:52Speaker 1: fitting the theme of like but I thought she'd be
- 41:55Speaker 1: in more stuff, you know, And she's been in a lot,
- 41:58Speaker 1: but not as like a lead like she is in
- 42:01Speaker 1: this one or a Maine or whatever the right words are.
- 42:04Speaker 1: But she's been in some movies I really love forgetting
- 42:06Speaker 1: Sarah Marshall. She's got a small part in you Know
- 42:09Speaker 1: which is so funny. Her and that's her and Jack Yes, yes, yeah,
- 42:14Speaker 1: they're married, which is great. And then she's in Hitch
- 42:18Speaker 1: with the bald guy yep, which is super funny. That's
- 42:23Speaker 1: a super small part in that too. But I just
- 42:25Speaker 1: thought she was really funny, like very believable. Is like
- 42:29Speaker 1: the uptight, you know, person who is like has succeeded
- 42:33Speaker 1: but also is just like a little too wound up,
- 42:36Speaker 1: you know about it and wants to live her life
- 42:39Speaker 1: and enjoy yourself. Yeah, I just I really like her.
- 42:42Speaker 1: I think she's great, and you know, I'm sucker for
- 42:44Speaker 1: a redhead, so you know, yep, I didn't know that
- 42:48Speaker 1: he is.
- 42:52Speaker 5: Beautiful blonde lady in this though I know a lot
- 42:55Speaker 5: of success she.
- 42:57Speaker 1: Would have been next for me. Blake Lively, I actually
- 42:59Speaker 1: thought was pretty great right in this and doesn't just
- 43:04Speaker 1: it was fun that they didn't just make her like
- 43:06Speaker 1: the oh she's pretty, but she doesn't have a lot
- 43:08Speaker 1: else going on, you know, character, like they gave her
- 43:11Speaker 1: some stuff to do. She was you know, they had
- 43:13Speaker 1: some chemistry. Like it was fun. I really liked her
- 43:16Speaker 1: a lot, and she's a tremendous actor, so yes, she
- 43:20Speaker 1: has done a ton of stuff.
- 43:22Speaker 5: Like, yes, she looks so young in this. She had
- 43:26Speaker 5: been nineteen when this came out. Really wow, I think
- 43:31Speaker 5: she's like the only one who's like college age.
- 43:33Speaker 1: Yeah, wasn't he like twenty seven or something? I feel
- 43:36Speaker 1: like I saw.
- 43:37Speaker 7: Yeah, wait justin long while. Yeah, yeah, really I didn't
- 43:41Speaker 7: realize he's so much older than me because I think
- 43:43Speaker 7: Blake Lively's are age bugs.
- 43:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that's probably right.
- 43:50Speaker 7: No, for sure, Yeah, she she's great in this movie.
- 43:55Speaker 7: She oddly reminds me of my high school girlfriend and
- 43:59Speaker 7: a lot of like my high school girlfriend looked a
- 44:03Speaker 7: lot like her, but she was like six foot, you know,
- 44:07Speaker 7: played on the volleyball and basketball team and kind of
- 44:11Speaker 7: had a similar personality to her in this movie Fun.
- 44:15Speaker 7: So it's it's definitely like a weird throwback for me,
- 44:19Speaker 7: which maybe is why I liked it when it first
- 44:21Speaker 7: came out. It is although it you know.
- 44:28Speaker 1: That really got up. But no, I wasn't really saying that.
- 44:36Speaker 1: I just felt like it was the weird thing to say.
- 44:37Speaker 1: I don't know it, Yeah, you nailed it, succeeded.
- 44:40Speaker 7: This is like a therapy session for me, so to
- 44:44Speaker 7: talk about a few things.
- 44:48Speaker 1: Oh.
- 44:48Speaker 7: No, she was fantastic, and I love that she was
- 44:51Speaker 7: very very early in her career. Like I don't know
- 44:53Speaker 7: if she had done.
- 44:56Speaker 5: I think it was your Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.
- 44:58Speaker 5: I think was probably about it.
- 44:59Speaker 7: Yeah, like she knew her from at that point.
- 45:04Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's that's wonderful.
- 45:08Speaker 5: That's why I wrote down. But but dude, big one
- 45:12Speaker 5: still a big one. So that those are the three
- 45:14Speaker 5: that I wrote down, But there's still a really big
- 45:16Speaker 5: name in there.
- 45:17Speaker 1: That we haven't mentioned.
- 45:18Speaker 6: Well, who is it?
- 45:19Speaker 5: Tell me Lewis Black.
- 45:21Speaker 1: Oh yeah, of course, good call, good call. Yeah.
- 45:24Speaker 7: He has grown on me. I loved him in this movie.
- 45:29Speaker 7: I did not like him on the Colbert Rapport. Oh
- 45:34Speaker 7: I'm periods because I thought he was a little obnoxious. Sure,
- 45:37Speaker 7: and I didn't only get the that part of his comedy.
- 45:44Speaker 1: Sure, like kind of the bit part. Yeah, But now I.
- 45:49Speaker 5: I oddly like it, Like I think it's him just
- 45:53Speaker 5: getting super mad about everything that.
- 45:55Speaker 7: Just gets the best so over the.
- 45:57Speaker 5: Top, over the top mad works for me, which.
- 46:01Speaker 7: This movie he does fantastic.
- 46:03Speaker 1: Yeah, it's pretty great.
- 46:06Speaker 5: Did you have somebody else written down?
- 46:07Speaker 1: Bukes? I had several more people? Okay, yeah, out Anthony Healed,
- 46:13Speaker 1: who is the dean of the.
- 46:14Speaker 5: College, Silence of the Lambs guy, Sounds of the Lambs,
- 46:19Speaker 5: Red Dragon.
- 46:20Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, that guy. But he's really funny and smarmy
- 46:23Speaker 1: and this like, you know, he's so good at playing
- 46:26Speaker 1: a guy that you're.
- 46:26Speaker 6: Just like, I hate this guy.
- 46:28Speaker 1: This guy sucks, you know what I mean, Like he's
- 46:31Speaker 1: really great at it. He does indeed suck, which I loved.
- 46:35Speaker 1: We got Jim O'Hare in there for a minute. Who
- 46:37Speaker 1: is Jonah Hill's dad from Parks and rec Yes, Gary
- 46:44Speaker 1: Jerry GURGI. Yeah, unless I watch an extended which does
- 46:48Speaker 1: happen sometimes, or so, I mean, I definitely watched.
- 46:53Speaker 5: He was in it. He was in the version that
- 46:54Speaker 5: I saw, Okay, but we only meet him the one
- 46:58Speaker 5: time when they're kind of all bragging about which schools
- 47:00Speaker 5: that they're going.
- 47:01Speaker 1: To the first party and then he drops them off
- 47:04Speaker 1: at college.
- 47:04Speaker 6: I think.
- 47:05Speaker 1: So it's like two scenes early on for sure.
- 47:07Speaker 7: Oh sorry, yes, yeah, it was like thirty seconds store.
- 47:14Speaker 7: I was like, wait what then yeah, I get you
- 47:18Speaker 7: name and the face. We're not connecting, but yes, he's Yeah.
- 47:22Speaker 6: He's so good. He's so good.
- 47:25Speaker 1: And then to see him one of the guys who
- 47:27Speaker 1: is the like, uh, he's just like one of the
- 47:31Speaker 1: dips from the boyfriend's uh what the like a frat
- 47:36Speaker 1: that they're in or whatever. But his name is Sam
- 47:39Speaker 1: Horrigan and he is uh what is Spike from Little Giants?
- 47:46Speaker 1: Oh fine, and I freaking loved Little Giants back in
- 47:50Speaker 1: the day. So yeah, like his face. I saw it
- 47:53Speaker 1: and I was like, who is this dude?
- 47:54Speaker 5: I know, dude, Yeah, that's fine.
- 47:57Speaker 1: He was also in Brink, which Airborne for a while.
- 48:01Speaker 1: Is that okay, so you saw Brink. I never saw Brink.
- 48:03Speaker 7: I don't think it was sound Disney. It was like
- 48:05Speaker 7: a yeah we made I.
- 48:09Speaker 1: Always get that one confused with Airborne, which was like
- 48:12Speaker 1: a rollerblading movie as well. And Jack Black. It was
- 48:16Speaker 1: like one of his first things he ever did and
- 48:19Speaker 1: it was really fun.
- 48:20Speaker 7: I was gonna say. Sam Morgan's also in One Street
- 48:23Speaker 7: Hill for like two episodes. He's in Ah, He's in
- 48:26Speaker 7: a bunch of things from the early two thousands. Yeah,
- 48:31Speaker 7: he's a main character in handful of things, but also
- 48:33Speaker 7: like in some primetime situations in like two episodes here
- 48:38Speaker 7: and there, and he's in a lot of things that
- 48:40Speaker 7: you recognize him.
- 48:41Speaker 1: Man, I'm not sure he's a great actor, but it
- 48:43Speaker 1: was fun to see him.
- 48:45Speaker 7: It's yeah, he hasn't the jawline of like it is
- 48:51Speaker 7: the squarest just like that is true, Like he's destined
- 48:55Speaker 7: to play Spike from Little Giant.
- 48:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 48:59Speaker 6: Yeah, he's funny. So that was just fun to see him.
- 49:02Speaker 1: Those were all the ones I had written down. That's
- 49:04Speaker 1: a lot. It was a lot.
- 49:06Speaker 6: It was a lot.
- 49:08Speaker 5: Well, what do you think should talk about our favorite scene.
- 49:12Speaker 5: Let's choose the dingis.
- 49:14Speaker 1: Yeah, let's choose the son is quite simple, really, dingus ingus.
- 49:21Speaker 1: I could talk about my dingus all night long. I
- 49:24Speaker 1: had a little bit of a hard time with this one,
- 49:25Speaker 1: so I'm excited, Nate, what do you have for your
- 49:28Speaker 1: favorite scene?
- 49:30Speaker 7: Why do I have to go first?
- 49:32Speaker 5: I mean, I guess you don't.
- 49:34Speaker 1: I don't have to to.
- 49:37Speaker 7: I have a few. Uh. I'm still going back and
- 49:46Speaker 7: forth looking at these. I really like when Bartleby, when
- 49:55Speaker 7: Monica opens up to Bartleby, and like Toko photography stuff,
- 50:01Speaker 7: and it becomes a little more real because we've all
- 50:03Speaker 7: been through that. Call it like my college experience was
- 50:06Speaker 7: exactly that it was. I was just waiting for somebody like, well,
- 50:10Speaker 7: why can't you right? And so that always really hit
- 50:17Speaker 7: home for me because when she's like, I don't understand
- 50:19Speaker 7: why they won't let me take these classes. And that's
- 50:22Speaker 7: actually how I ended up double majoring in mascom and
- 50:27Speaker 7: music industry because I couldn't take some of the music
- 50:31Speaker 7: classes that I wanted, right, So I just declared a
- 50:35Speaker 7: second major and took like intro to MIDI and all
- 50:40Speaker 7: their all this stuff. So and it's it's cute and
- 50:44Speaker 7: lovable and my high school girlfriend like, that's the interaction
- 50:48Speaker 7: I would have liked, you know.
- 50:53Speaker 6: So I mean sorry those for up.
- 51:01Speaker 7: Yeah, no, so that I don't know why that one
- 51:04Speaker 7: that's a good scene. There's that's again not like one
- 51:08Speaker 7: of the prominent scenes. It's a very like but that
- 51:11Speaker 7: one always sticks out to me as like it's just like, yeah,
- 51:17Speaker 7: in a comedy, that's like the one that like makes
- 51:19Speaker 7: you feel a warm and love it nice.
- 51:22Speaker 5: Well, you picked a real one. I picked the one
- 51:24Speaker 5: that I think of with this movie, and it's Jonah
- 51:27Speaker 5: Hill dressing up as a hot dog. It's not much
- 51:31Speaker 5: of a scene, but he picked like a real scene,
- 51:34Speaker 5: and I'm like, well, Jonah Hill dresses up like a hot.
- 51:36Speaker 7: Dog and a wiener.
- 51:39Speaker 5: Yes, And that's what I think of when I think
- 51:42Speaker 5: of this movie.
- 51:43Speaker 1: I felt bad for picking it, but yeah, I.
- 51:47Speaker 7: Mean varaluably, if nobody knows who that movie is, they
- 51:54Speaker 7: know what that means.
- 51:56Speaker 1: Right, that's true. That's true.
- 51:59Speaker 5: So so maybe not the highest brow pick, but I'm
- 52:05Speaker 5: taking it.
- 52:06Speaker 6: I love it.
- 52:07Speaker 1: I love that.
- 52:08Speaker 6: I think I would have picked that too, Rob, Like
- 52:09Speaker 6: I said, but to.
- 52:11Speaker 1: Say another one, I like that the first kind of
- 52:15Speaker 1: montage scene we get whenever, not the first one where
- 52:19Speaker 1: they're building it, you know, the college to make it
- 52:21Speaker 1: actually like you know, creating it, which is fun. I
- 52:25Speaker 1: do like that scene too, But the one where they're
- 52:27Speaker 1: all sort of like figuring out what classes they would
- 52:29Speaker 1: like to take and they're it's the coming of age
- 52:32Speaker 1: part right where they're all just like they're writing on
- 52:35Speaker 1: the board, like what do you want to study? And
- 52:37Speaker 1: like they're silly things, but also they are learning. I
- 52:40Speaker 1: don't know, I just really like that scene.
- 52:41Speaker 5: I think it's and they keep they keep going back
- 52:43Speaker 5: to that one dude who wants to blow stuff.
- 52:45Speaker 1: Up in his mind.
- 52:46Speaker 5: It's such a good staring at objects and it's wonderful.
- 52:52Speaker 1: It's wonderful. Yeah, it's just really funny that guy. What
- 52:55Speaker 1: a specific look that guy has.
- 52:56Speaker 6: He's great.
- 52:57Speaker 1: Yep, he's really great. What But I really like that
- 53:01Speaker 1: seeing the Mantasha guy. I definitely have that up there
- 53:04Speaker 1: as well.
- 53:04Speaker 7: I would argue that, and I will argue, oh, real
- 53:12Speaker 7: colleges in real life, the first week you go to college,
- 53:16Speaker 7: like or not, maybe it's before college or maybe they
- 53:21Speaker 7: dedicate the first week, but they should literally do that
- 53:24Speaker 7: for college students. And just take like a week and
- 53:27Speaker 7: be like, what do you want to learn? You're not
- 53:29Speaker 7: declaring to major until you like spend a week doing
- 53:33Speaker 7: nothing but hanging out and like jotting down ideas of
- 53:38Speaker 7: things that you actually care about.
- 53:41Speaker 1: That'd be cool, Like that might.
- 53:42Speaker 7: Be an experience for college students to maybe get into
- 53:47Speaker 7: something that they're actually interested in instead of being like,
- 53:50Speaker 7: well my mom was doctor, so I guess I'm gonna be.
- 53:55Speaker 6: The dietary.
- 53:56Speaker 5: I still would have just been like, oh, music, No,
- 54:03Speaker 5: I know a good thing.
- 54:06Speaker 6: That's what you picked.
- 54:09Speaker 7: You like anything else?
- 54:10Speaker 5: Rob dude. I if my folks wouldn't have pushed me
- 54:15Speaker 5: into music, I was just like I'm just gonna do
- 54:17Speaker 5: jen ds and that everybody at school was like, well, no,
- 54:20Speaker 5: that's not a thing. Maybe people did that a long
- 54:22Speaker 5: time ago, but you need to be actively going toward
- 54:25Speaker 5: a major right exactly.
- 54:29Speaker 1: You know.
- 54:29Speaker 5: So it's like I'll just get you know, my required
- 54:31Speaker 5: things done and figure out what I.
- 54:33Speaker 1: Want to do.
- 54:33Speaker 5: And that was not an option, especially if you're going
- 54:36Speaker 5: into music, because you have to take a jillion one
- 54:41Speaker 5: credit caress.
- 54:43Speaker 7: Yeah, that was Yeah, that was the worst for me
- 54:46Speaker 7: because being a double major, I had to take so many,
- 54:50Speaker 7: like one dude level courses.
- 54:52Speaker 5: For me, you had to be at school all day.
- 54:54Speaker 7: I was like, why why do I need to take
- 54:58Speaker 7: the and then the two classes? So I graduated with
- 55:01Speaker 7: one major because the two classes I had to finish
- 55:05Speaker 7: were a four hundred level class that was only part
- 55:10Speaker 7: one and two only offered in fall and spring.
- 55:13Speaker 5: Right, and then there's all that got to the.
- 55:15Speaker 7: End and the dean or whatever, the guy running that major,
- 55:21Speaker 7: he goes, well, we've taken so many other courses, he's
- 55:25Speaker 7: you know what, take this as a minor. Well, we
- 55:28Speaker 7: don't need to be here another year.
- 55:30Speaker 1: I was like, thank you, Okay, great, sounds good.
- 55:35Speaker 7: Like that's around a year for two classes, right, dud.
- 55:40Speaker 1: For music, I didn't have any of that. I didn't
- 55:41Speaker 1: run into any of that stuff, the like prerequisite stuff.
- 55:46Speaker 1: That was all I got really lucky with that. That's wild,
- 55:50Speaker 1: but it sucks like it happened to a lot of people.
- 55:52Speaker 1: I feel like, oh, yeah, what'd you say?
- 55:56Speaker 7: You guys met at Unba I forgot, yeah, yes, he
- 55:58Speaker 7: showed in.
- 55:59Speaker 1: We did.
- 56:00Speaker 7: We did like it's not a music in school and
- 56:03Speaker 7: learned podcast.
- 56:06Speaker 5: It could have been more fun, like you guys are crazy.
- 56:11Speaker 1: We basically did a podcast when Rob and I met
- 56:14Speaker 1: because we saw Fergy's butt crack on SNL. So I
- 56:17Speaker 1: mean that was basically a segment that was how we.
- 56:20Speaker 5: Nobody else saw it.
- 56:24Speaker 1: We definitely knew each other before that, but that was
- 56:26Speaker 1: our moment that was really all right, this is gonna work.
- 56:29Speaker 7: That explains a lot.
- 56:30Speaker 5: It really does.
- 56:31Speaker 6: Really, yeah, it really does.
- 56:32Speaker 1: Honestly a party and we're both watching the TV. Yep,
- 56:38Speaker 1: that sounds yep, that sounds right.
- 56:40Speaker 7: Did you see the crack man?
- 56:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that's what happened. We both were like crack. Yeah,
- 56:50Speaker 1: I will just throw out as well. The courtroom scene
- 56:53Speaker 1: I thought was really fun. Uh Bartleby's speech, Yeah, the
- 56:56Speaker 1: like adjudication, I guess I don't it's probably not actually
- 56:59Speaker 1: a courtroom, but yeah, his speech was really good. I thought.
- 57:01Speaker 1: I thought it was fun and him being surprised that
- 57:04Speaker 1: they're all there and like the supportive part and yeah,
- 57:07Speaker 1: I just thought that was really great.
- 57:09Speaker 7: Well, right, that was fun. It was a good redeeming
- 57:11Speaker 7: speech for like a you know, and everything's gone wrong.
- 57:17Speaker 1: Yeah. I don't know that. My personal beliefs think that
- 57:21Speaker 1: schools should get accredited just for no reason. But you
- 57:24Speaker 1: know that's that's a different We can talk about that
- 57:27Speaker 1: some other times. But yeah, I would take the Wiener
- 57:34Speaker 1: scene if it's me he called dings, I think it
- 57:38Speaker 1: should be the Wiener scene.
- 57:39Speaker 7: Sorry that I was too high brow for you guys.
- 57:42Speaker 5: Yeah you.
- 57:44Speaker 1: Really were, although you answered it like a true rom
- 57:47Speaker 1: com lobber, which it does warm the cockers. Yeah you
- 57:51Speaker 1: really did.
- 57:51Speaker 5: Hey watch your mouth.
- 57:53Speaker 7: Yeah me, because you're the one of the only other
- 57:59Speaker 7: guys that I know that really enjoy oh loves a
- 58:04Speaker 7: rom com?
- 58:05Speaker 1: We both do.
- 58:07Speaker 5: Hell yeah, I like the good ones too, but you
- 58:10Speaker 5: guys think they're all good.
- 58:12Speaker 1: The good ones, correct, right, and then like the ones
- 58:16Speaker 1: that even I admit are not good, I still like
- 58:18Speaker 1: them still like Yeah, yeah, Nick and Norris infinite playlist.
- 58:24Speaker 1: Let's go I saw that delightful film.
- 58:27Speaker 7: I saw it. I don't remember much about it.
- 58:29Speaker 1: Oh it's wonderful.
- 58:30Speaker 5: Yeah we're derailing, but yes, the Wiener is the Dingus, Yeah,
- 58:36Speaker 5: which we love to say it. Let's talk about some
- 58:40Speaker 5: of these quotes, and let's show me the money.
- 58:42Speaker 1: Show me the money. Show me with a couple of quotes.
- 58:52Speaker 5: He hit us with the one already, Yes, I did
- 58:54Speaker 5: love it what you feel. But then another one that
- 59:01Speaker 5: Jonah Hill says in a Wiener costume.
- 59:03Speaker 7: Me about your ask me about my wiena.
- 59:06Speaker 1: There it is, But I love it when he does
- 59:08Speaker 1: the sing songy one, ask me about my wiena. Yes,
- 59:12Speaker 1: that's that's what I was looking for.
- 59:14Speaker 6: Oh that's great, it's wonderful.
- 59:16Speaker 7: It's not even quotes. I just want to go through.
- 59:19Speaker 7: It's not quotable. But when Justin Long is in, I
- 59:22Speaker 7: don't have it pulled up in front of me. When
- 59:25Speaker 7: he goes, uh, what hold on, let me, it's kind
- 59:32Speaker 7: of right. Oh what's his face? Floyd Pambrose? Is that
- 59:40Speaker 7: his name?
- 59:41Speaker 5: Oh? The uh the pretty boy blonde guy.
- 59:45Speaker 7: Uh yeah, yeah, No, it's Lloyd Loiter Floyd. It's a
- 59:51Speaker 7: very forgettable name.
- 59:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 59:54Speaker 5: And he makes fun of him, fun of him, and
- 59:56Speaker 5: I don't isn't it's like Floyd or no, it's Howait
- 1:00:01Speaker 5: Ambrose Ambrose.
- 1:00:04Speaker 7: And he goes for the little chunk of names that's like.
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: No, oh yeah, it just ends up with.
- 1:00:13Speaker 7: Like, yeah, the pete I don't like just trails off
- 1:00:18Speaker 7: into a bit.
- 1:00:19Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:00:19Speaker 7: I don't know why I like that so much.
- 1:00:21Speaker 5: It's very emasculating. That's why it was fun, so good.
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: He's not used to that.
- 1:00:27Speaker 7: I also, it's this is like PG. Thirteen, So I
- 1:00:32Speaker 7: hope you know.
- 1:00:34Speaker 5: You're Musk, You're fine, do it?
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: Fine, do it.
- 1:00:36Speaker 7: I really love when lewis black ones pimps and whores,
- 1:00:40Speaker 7: pimps and whores.
- 1:00:45Speaker 5: And that's when he's talking to Bartleby's parents, right like, yeah,
- 1:00:49Speaker 5: there's like what are we doing here?
- 1:00:51Speaker 7: Well, he's like getting them to say yes to him
- 1:00:54Speaker 7: to be able to go to school there, and he's like.
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: No, I get it, but he Wade was not doing
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: the assignment.
- 1:01:03Speaker 7: To get a good job.
- 1:01:05Speaker 5: Right, yeah, like it is.
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: I couldn't agree more.
- 1:01:11Speaker 7: And that goes back to what I said earlier when
- 1:01:13Speaker 7: the dad is just so over the top. I'm so
- 1:01:16Speaker 7: disappointed in my son. And then he's sitting there in
- 1:01:19Speaker 7: this ridiculous situation and he's like, oh no, no, no, no,
- 1:01:25Speaker 7: that's yeah, everything you are I didn't understand, but this, yep,
- 1:01:29Speaker 7: I agree.
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: Yeah, so silly, so silly.
- 1:01:35Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:01:39Speaker 5: Well, I'm gonna say a couple of the Jonah Hill
- 1:01:41Speaker 5: ones because they were great. When they show up at
- 1:01:46Speaker 5: that horrible building that they're going to take over, He's
- 1:01:50Speaker 5: like this place is awesome because now I can finally
- 1:01:53Speaker 5: get hepatitis in. Then he does that scream, which is
- 1:02:03Speaker 5: so amazing, and he's like, I don't want to be
- 1:02:05Speaker 5: here alone. When the walls start to bleed.
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: I liked that.
- 1:02:12Speaker 5: They see, uh, he sees the mascot.
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: He's like, who is that.
- 1:02:16Speaker 5: It's like, Oh, that's our mascot, A sandwich. You're the sandwiches.
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: I loved that. Yeah. Perfect.
- 1:02:23Speaker 7: Have we brushed over? We haven't talked.
- 1:02:25Speaker 5: About the South Harmon Institute of Technology.
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: It's brilliant, it's perfect.
- 1:02:30Speaker 7: So in ninth was it in ninth grade? No, because
- 1:02:35Speaker 7: this hadn't come out yet six So I must have
- 1:02:38Speaker 7: been in college for something. But I as an acronym
- 1:02:43Speaker 7: for n It was my design project in mass com.
- 1:02:47Speaker 7: I designed a new logo for the South Harmon Institute
- 1:02:51Speaker 7: of Technology.
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: That's so good.
- 1:02:58Speaker 5: They have to have a T shirt of South Harmon
- 1:03:00Speaker 5: It's true technology somewhere like te Public or something. They
- 1:03:05Speaker 5: have to have it. But I've never seen it, and
- 1:03:07Speaker 5: that would be a pretty great shirt.
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: Would be fantastic because people that get that get it.
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: They would enjoy it.
- 1:03:13Speaker 5: Yeah, that would be fun.
- 1:03:15Speaker 7: I was walking through Costco on a Saturday and I
- 1:03:18Speaker 7: saw somebody with that shirt, I would go talk to them.
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: Yep. There's something called the South Harmon Institute of Technology
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: dot Work.
- 1:03:28Speaker 6: And they do have those shirts.
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: So that's okay, nice, But yeah, there's a few shirts
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: out here, so yeah, we shall have to get one.
- 1:03:36Speaker 7: Can I add one more in a purpose?
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: Yeah, totally.
- 1:03:41Speaker 7: When Bartleby is like, I'm going to go to jail
- 1:03:44Speaker 7: and Uncle Ben is like, don't worry, you're young. Your
- 1:03:48Speaker 7: butt can take it. Like it's bad, terrible, Like you
- 1:03:56Speaker 7: probably couldn't put that in a comedy now, but come
- 1:03:59Speaker 7: on that.
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: Oh yeah they could.
- 1:04:02Speaker 6: Yeah, they still would that bad?
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: They absolutely would, you think.
- 1:04:05Speaker 5: But on those on that same line, Jonah Hill has
- 1:04:10Speaker 5: another one. He's like, well, b I'm glad you asked actually,
- 1:04:12Speaker 5: because since we're going to prison, I want to learn
- 1:04:14Speaker 5: how to carve a shank out of my toothbrush.
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: Yeah. I like that too, super good.
- 1:04:20Speaker 5: Why don't you say some bugs?
- 1:04:22Speaker 4: Mm?
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: Well this is maybe I should have done this for
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: see because I have two quotes kind of from the
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: same scene backpack. But every day after eighth period, Vice
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: Principal Matthews comes in here, he picks up the women's
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: fitness magazine, and he snaps one off. And then when
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: heat comes in and they're like singing their little song,
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: the vice principal comes in partial be goes, well, I
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: want to read an article about no carbs and higher reps.
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: The other day the pages were stuck. I see if
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: by some natural adhesives, I need to cut the pounds,
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: and the pages were and then the principal finally goes,
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: stop it, just stop. Yeah. Yeah, but the as if
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: by some natural adhesive really cracks me up.
- 1:05:04Speaker 6: That's fun.
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: It was good, that's good. It was good.
- 1:05:07Speaker 6: There.
- 1:05:07Speaker 5: He was so quick to get them to start singing,
- 1:05:10Speaker 5: just so.
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: They sounded nice too. Yeah, no, they did it. Oh yeah,
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: you're right, Oh right, that was.
- 1:05:17Speaker 6: That's why you're a professional.
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: And I stop it. Uh, let's see, this is the
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: act of a desperate, wildly unrealistic person. That really cracked
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: me up. I don't even remember who said that. Yeah
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: you would have wrote that down, but got it cracked
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: me up. Let's see when he's like, can you just
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: we need a building? Can you find us a building?
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: There's like, you got any ideas? And he's like, oh
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: I do. Actually, I carry around a list of abandoned
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: buildings for fake colleges. So yeah, no problem.
- 1:05:53Speaker 5: I mean that's just so perfect Jonah Hill.
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: Yeah, you just like synthesized to Jonah Hill right there.
- 1:06:00Speaker 7: It's funny that they were able to cast him in
- 1:06:03Speaker 7: this role. Well again, it goes back to like him
- 1:06:06Speaker 7: being in Super Bad, like that evolved. Yeah, it's him, Like, yeah,
- 1:06:14Speaker 7: it is just so well written for that character.
- 1:06:17Speaker 5: For him, it almost feels like just an ad lib
- 1:06:20Speaker 5: that he would say, yeah, totally perfect.
- 1:06:23Speaker 7: Well yeah, and maybe it is. Maybe that is.
- 1:06:27Speaker 5: It feels like it, but who knows. I think he's
- 1:06:30Speaker 5: just really good.
- 1:06:33Speaker 6: I love that.
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: I also love when they when Blake Loved Lively and.
- 1:06:39Speaker 6: Our guy are talking.
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: The dude just when they're talking, she's like, did you
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: say South Harmon? He's like, yes, I did. It's like,
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: where is that? And he just goes, that's super high pitched.
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: That was really fun Like it, I feel like I've
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: been we've employed the high pitch.
- 1:06:56Speaker 6: I feel like over the time. Yeah, that I thought
- 1:07:00Speaker 6: that was great.
- 1:07:02Speaker 7: That reminds we could literally go on all night. But
- 1:07:05Speaker 7: that reminds me of the one where he's like, you
- 1:07:08Speaker 7: want me to give you some left buddy goes, you
- 1:07:10Speaker 7: mean funnier than your future alcohol abuse, Like that is
- 1:07:13Speaker 7: such a dark line.
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: So great.
- 1:07:16Speaker 7: Yeah, that's so good though, but there are definitely kids
- 1:07:21Speaker 7: in college that I knew that. Had I known that
- 1:07:24Speaker 7: line at the time, I probably would have laid on
- 1:07:29Speaker 7: mm hmmm.
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: So funny.
- 1:07:33Speaker 6: I have some more, but robbed you more.
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: I don't have anymore. Oh okay, well you said this
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: one earlier, but the the an explosion of flavor. I'm
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: working with some very unstable herbs.
- 1:07:45Speaker 5: Unstable herbs.
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: That corrects me up. I really like that line a lot.
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: And then just we got to do at least one
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: big Lewis Black, you know, die Trap. But when he's
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: like health insurance, my ass, they don't you get sick
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: on a Friday, They only cover Monday through Thursday. You
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: go to a doctor, you go to doctor A. They
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: only pay for doctor P. You break your penis, they
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: only fix my ginas Like, his whole thing is just
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: so dumb and great.
- 1:08:13Speaker 5: It was just like the Claws the whole time.
- 1:08:16Speaker 7: Yeah, which is funny because then oddly sums up insurance.
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: Yeah right, like it's like that's everything he says. You're
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: like kind of yeah, like he kind of got a point.
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:08:31Speaker 7: Do you guys know anything about rashes? O?
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: Man, I got a rash.
- 1:08:38Speaker 7: I was wondering if you guys. I got going on
- 1:08:41Speaker 7: trying to figure it out for like three months.
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: I love it. I have many creams.
- 1:08:47Speaker 4: Uh.
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: Then my last one that I have is uh uh,
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: that's that's funny. You should ask. There's very few things
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: I'm not very good at. Off the top of my head,
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: I can think of asplunking tell thesis, not crying at
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: the end of my girl.
- 1:09:03Speaker 6: It really gets to me.
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: And Terry products. That was good.
- 1:09:10Speaker 7: There are so many good oneliners in this Oh yeah,
- 1:09:13Speaker 7: I'm sure we missed a bunch, but I'm.
- 1:09:15Speaker 5: MILLI that's all right.
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: Those for fun? Well, then why don't we move to
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: be Boho? Well the crying game?
- 1:09:27Speaker 5: I I didn't. I was nowhere near a ba who I.
- 1:09:33Speaker 5: I would be interested to hear what made you be who?
- 1:09:36Speaker 5: There might have been a scene, but.
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: I don't think you cried in this movie. Interesting? They
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: do you want to do? You want to guess? Do you
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: think there's cries? Think there's no cries.
- 1:09:47Speaker 7: I wouldn't say cries, but it's probably like if I
- 1:09:51Speaker 7: was going to go for a touching moment again, this
- 1:09:53Speaker 7: movie is so funny and lighthearted that it's hard. But
- 1:09:58Speaker 7: if I was going to go for a boo who
- 1:09:59Speaker 7: moment bukes, it would probably be when Monica is talking
- 1:10:06Speaker 7: about they wouldn't let me take this class, like she's
- 1:10:09Speaker 7: just super like, I don't understand why I can't do
- 1:10:12Speaker 7: what I like. That might be as close as we get.
- 1:10:16Speaker 7: But yeah, not a.
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: Lot of Yeah, and the speech it wasn't like cry
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: tears worthy now, yeah, no, you're right, I didn't cry
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: during this movie. Those are probably the closest, but I
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: didn't even get particularly close. Ye. No, when it ended,
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: Let's go and do a little movie trivia. Now, Lewis
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: Black's character says the word twice, but one was literally
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: bleeped out in order to make the movie Pg.
- 1:10:51Speaker 6: Thirteen.
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: Apparently that was like the decider. It was at the
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: very very end They're like, okay, we'll just bleep that out.
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: It's fine. It totally worked. Totally worked. A lot of
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: the movie was improvised, and a lot of the gags
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: were pitched by the actors on the day of shooting.
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: So that's fun.
- 1:11:08Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean I wouldn't be surprised that Jonah threw
- 1:11:10Speaker 5: that out a few of them.
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: Yeah, that makes sense as part of the promotion for
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: this movie. Oh sorry, Nate, what were you saying?
- 1:11:17Speaker 7: No, I was just gonna say, I'm going to go
- 1:11:18Speaker 7: to the limb and say there were death on this
- 1:11:21Speaker 7: I'm assuming this budget for the film wasn't high, so
- 1:11:23Speaker 7: I'm guessing a lot of the stuff we see probably
- 1:11:27Speaker 7: wasn't entirely scripted.
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: Yeah, what was it? The budget was twenty three million
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: and they made like thirty six or something like that, so.
- 1:11:36Speaker 7: Made money making more work, which is still a big
- 1:11:40Speaker 7: It's not like an indie but yeah, right right, you
- 1:11:44Speaker 7: know that money goes quick when you're making a movie.
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: Yeah, making it and making up alliance on set. But yeah,
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: apparently they did it. As part of the promotion for
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: this movie. At Comic Con in San Diego, promoters through
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: a huge welcome party to the open to the public
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: with barbecue, beer, skateboarding demos, and a wall where people
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: could write subjects they'd like to study. Justin Long and
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: other cast members mixed in with the crowd to the
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: point where you couldn't pick them out. Apparently, Oh my gosh,
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: I bet that was fun. Cute, very cute. Adam Hershman's
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: actual parents were on hand the day they were filming
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: the parents' day scene, and so they were placed in
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: the film as Glenn's parents. So those are his actual events,
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: which is pretty fun and awesome.
- 1:12:31Speaker 6: I think that's great.
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: Let's see the red fruits that Glenn screams.
- 1:12:37Speaker 8: What are you?
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: Oh? Yeah, which is really funny. Are butans? Yes, a
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: kind of tropical fruit. Yeah, we just had them in Hawaii.
- 1:12:49Speaker 5: Nate. Nate was in Hawaii, were like the week after that.
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: I was in.
- 1:12:53Speaker 7: Hawaii in the week that I left.
- 1:12:57Speaker 5: The week I left, why, it was bizarre.
- 1:13:01Speaker 7: I literally, why were we texting rob.
- 1:13:06Speaker 5: I had heard that because I had talked to Jennica
- 1:13:08Speaker 5: and she said you were going to why And I
- 1:13:10Speaker 5: was like, dude, I guess I just missed you by, like.
- 1:13:13Speaker 7: Ad literally because my morning I worked out. Every day
- 1:13:17Speaker 7: I was in uh uh you did Awie, and I
- 1:13:23Speaker 7: ran by the Sheraton.
- 1:13:26Speaker 5: That's where Kelsey and I stayed the first two nights.
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: Every day.
- 1:13:29Speaker 7: I literally was like, oh, I missed Rob by a
- 1:13:32Speaker 7: few days.
- 1:13:32Speaker 5: It's cute, yeah, dude, Because I was like, dude, you
- 1:13:35Speaker 5: got to go to black Rock to snorkel and he
- 1:13:38Speaker 5: was like, I literally just left black Rock. We snorkeled
- 1:13:41Speaker 5: there for an hour and a half.
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: That's the best. That's super. It was weird. I love
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: that's tasty.
- 1:13:53Speaker 5: Yeah, so you take off that deal. It's kind of
- 1:13:55Speaker 5: like a light chi kind of. It's that kind of
- 1:13:59Speaker 5: a thing.
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: Yeah, heep me. Let's see, there's thirty nine shots of
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: Apple computers.
- 1:14:05Speaker 6: In this movie.
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: Justin Long became the spokesperson for Apple computers in the
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: I'm a Mac, I'm a PC commercials just prior to
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: the release, So there's a bunch of them in here,
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: which is.
- 1:14:16Speaker 6: Kind of fun.
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: Oh yeah.
- 1:14:17Speaker 5: And then there was that other guy, the PC guy,
- 1:14:20Speaker 5: and he was big for a little while too.
- 1:14:22Speaker 7: Yep, you had a few like spots and different things.
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: Yeah, anyway, I don't remember that.
- 1:14:27Speaker 6: I don't know if I ever knew his name.
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: Actually, let's see, it's just one of us, yeah, one
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: of us. The character Ben Lewis was specifically written for
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: Lewis Black, which makes a lot of sense. Sure, since
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: the school slash college's name is the South Harmon Institute
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: of Technology. Is the most frequently used word being used
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: sixty two times throughout the movie. Sure, well, that's that's fun,
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: I guess even though he plays a recent we said
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: this justin Long was twenty seven when he did this movie.
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: Maria Thayer was thirty when she did this movie. Wow,
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: I would not I have guessed that. And let's see. Oh,
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: I just thought this was like kind of like, oh,
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: that's kind of cool. But also but that's a lot
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: more thought than maybe we needed for this movie. For
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: the first half of the movie, Monica Blake Lively wears
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: a lot of soft pastel colors. Monica breaks up with Hoyite,
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: and then she starts wearing more brown, which is one
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: of the school colors of South Harmon.
- 1:15:32Speaker 5: I thought that's why they did that.
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: Yeah, that seems we're thinking about this too much, like.
- 1:15:40Speaker 6: Very silly.
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: That was all the trivia I had. There wasn't a
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: ton ton out there.
- 1:15:44Speaker 5: I saw a couple of things. I love that Bartleby's
- 1:15:46Speaker 5: parents' names are Jack and Diane.
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: Yeah, that is John Mellencamp's song.
- 1:15:52Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: I enjoyed that.
- 1:15:54Speaker 5: They said that Will Ferrell auditioned for Uncle Ben and
- 1:15:57Speaker 5: Jack Gaines shocked that he wouldn't have gotten either one
- 1:16:02Speaker 5: of those that's wild and Jack Black turned down the
- 1:16:06Speaker 5: role of Uncle ben.
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: Man. Different movies with those guys obviously.
- 1:16:11Speaker 5: But can't really picture Jack Black and that interesting, especially
- 1:16:15Speaker 5: twenty years ago.
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: It just would have been more of like a stoner
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: thing man, I guess than like angry.
- 1:16:21Speaker 5: I guess like a Orange County more.
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, probably so interesting though, nice, but that was
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: all I had. Nice love it, Nate, Did you come
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: up with any that we didn't say? No, not required to.
- 1:16:35Speaker 7: You know what's funny. For as much as I've loved
- 1:16:38Speaker 7: this movie and it's like an underliar, I probably watch
- 1:16:41Speaker 7: it once or twice a year just to love it
- 1:16:44Speaker 7: because it's it's very nostalgic for me, I don't know
- 1:16:47Speaker 7: a lot about the behind this, Like, yeah, I don't have.
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: It's probably not a lot to know. They were all
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: pretty young and new. I guess maybe like Back.
- 1:16:56Speaker 7: To the Future where there's like all these so much
- 1:17:00Speaker 7: yes that have happened, Like yeah, I just don't. I
- 1:17:04Speaker 7: don't have anything for this movie that I just not
- 1:17:07Speaker 7: just on IMDb.
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: Yeah, right side note, I just bought the Lego DeLorean
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: from Back to the Future.
- 1:17:17Speaker 6: I haven't I haven't put it together yet.
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: But I saw it and I was like, oh, why
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: wouldn't I get that? I mean, that's fun, that's fun.
- 1:17:25Speaker 6: I'll show that off at some point.
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: What about Judgment Day? Do we think there'll be a sequel?
- 1:17:33Speaker 5: Probably not. However, all these folks are still acting, you know,
- 1:17:38Speaker 5: we could see if there's another batch of students going
- 1:17:40Speaker 5: to South Harmon Institute. Maybe maybe they're the you know,
- 1:17:45Speaker 5: justin Long is like a parent for.
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: Old people trying to you know, make it into an
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: old folks home. For that to be a fun thing.
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: I don't know. Yeah, that'd be fun. Yeah, hey probably,
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: but yeah, we're it'd be fun, but probably not.
- 1:18:04Speaker 7: Maybe a sequel, who knows where I figured it out?
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: The sequel what is it?
- 1:18:09Speaker 7: It will be them running a school, but it won't
- 1:18:17Speaker 7: be so much based on the school part. It will
- 1:18:20Speaker 7: be based on Bartleby and Monica's relationship is not going
- 1:18:25Speaker 7: too well, so Blake le won't actually be in the
- 1:18:28Speaker 7: movie very much. But Jess from New Girl she will
- 1:18:32Speaker 7: be one of the teachers.
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: Hell, yes, yes, and they make like a Thanksgiving.
- 1:18:38Speaker 7: And there will be a Thanksgiving episode and some songs
- 1:18:43Speaker 7: involved it. Yeah, I don't I don't think there's probably gonna.
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: Be yeah, probably not apparently be fun though. Let's just
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: make a movie like this again.
- 1:18:55Speaker 7: Yeah, I would take Yeah, I'm gonna start writing that
- 1:18:59Speaker 7: and send it to.
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: Yeah Rob, send.
- 1:19:03Speaker 5: It to the people, Yes, send it to me.
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: Address it to Hollywood, go get it.
- 1:19:07Speaker 5: Yeah, Hollywood to Hollywood. You guys want to play a game? Yeah, sweet,
- 1:19:15Speaker 5: Well I did a quote game this time. So I'm
- 1:19:20Speaker 5: going to give you a quote, and then I want
- 1:19:23Speaker 5: to get three things from you. So there's three points
- 1:19:27Speaker 5: for each one of these. I want the name of
- 1:19:29Speaker 5: the movie, the name of the actor who said it,
- 1:19:33Speaker 5: and the name of the character that the actor is playing.
- 1:19:37Speaker 5: I want those three things from you. It all of
- 1:19:41Speaker 5: these have something in common. When you know the theme,
- 1:19:45Speaker 5: you can ring it at any time for a point,
- 1:19:50Speaker 5: and the same sort of deal. If if you get
- 1:19:53Speaker 5: any of these wrong, the other person can steal for
- 1:19:56Speaker 5: some of those points.
- 1:19:57Speaker 7: You just want to clim victory now or No.
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: You're good, it'll be great. No, mom, sometimes we'll be good.
- 1:20:08Speaker 7: He'll be great, Honey, it'll be great.
- 1:20:11Speaker 5: Great, You're accepted here? All right, you guys ready for
- 1:20:17Speaker 5: this first one?
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: Yes?
- 1:20:19Speaker 5: Please, it's kind of a long one, but it's fun.
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: I would rather watch Beautician in the Beast.
- 1:20:27Speaker 5: I would rather listen to Fran Dresher for eight hours
- 1:20:30Speaker 5: than have to listen to Michael McDonald. Nothing against him,
- 1:20:34Speaker 5: but if I hear yam will be there.
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: Yes, m burn this place to the ground. Thank you,
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: forty year old Virgin? Correct, Paul Rudd?
- 1:20:44Speaker 5: Correct? Do you remember his name?
- 1:20:46Speaker 2: Boy?
- 1:20:48Speaker 5: I don't think I would have gotten this.
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: So Steve Carrell's name is Andy?
- 1:20:53Speaker 6: Right?
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: Nice? Yes, I don't think I know his name.
- 1:20:57Speaker 5: I would have never gotten this. I would have been
- 1:20:59Speaker 5: I don't think guy would have gotten Andy.
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: I don't remember his last name, that's for sure.
- 1:21:04Speaker 5: But yeah, Nate, do you remember Paul Rudd's character's name
- 1:21:08Speaker 5: in forty year Old Virgin?
- 1:21:10Speaker 7: It's not Ben, is it?
- 1:21:12Speaker 5: It's not Ben? His name was David, David, Vid David.
- 1:21:18Speaker 7: It's been a long time since I've seen that, but
- 1:21:21Speaker 7: I know that.
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: It's a good one.
- 1:21:25Speaker 5: Bugs on the board with two points, let's go to
- 1:21:29Speaker 5: number two. Thank you for nothing, you useless reptile.
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: Oh god, what is that? Oh? No, useless?
- 1:21:41Speaker 5: Thank you for nothing, you useless reptile. And I'm pretty
- 1:21:45Speaker 5: much saying it the way that he did it.
- 1:21:48Speaker 7: I know that.
- 1:21:52Speaker 5: Thank you for nothing, you useless reptile bus.
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: What is it? It's not from Is it for? From
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: Old School?
- 1:22:01Speaker 5: It's not, damn it.
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: I can't place this one. Yep.
- 1:22:05Speaker 5: It's a tough one to Until you hear the name
- 1:22:08Speaker 5: of it, you be like, of course, yeah, you have
- 1:22:11Speaker 5: a guess, Nate, it's.
- 1:22:16Speaker 7: In that realm. I'm like going between three movies right now.
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: Say one of them one, I'll throw at you. Uh animated,
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: It's it's not Zotopia.
- 1:22:32Speaker 7: No, that that's not the direction I was going at all.
- 1:22:34Speaker 7: I have no clue.
- 1:22:36Speaker 5: And more recently they did a live action version, but
- 1:22:39Speaker 5: there's still a lot of cg Oh, damn it.
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: Yeah, how to Train Your Dragon? Got that?
- 1:22:46Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: J barroshell Yeah yeah, that's a good yeah.
- 1:22:53Speaker 7: No points awarded and we are all dumber now, Yeah.
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: Thank you, thank you. I'd like to I guess the
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: theme to help us out. Okay, okay, I think these
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: are Jonah Hill movies. Man.
- 1:23:07Speaker 5: I even tried to like make it tough in the
- 1:23:10Speaker 5: very first couple.
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: Yeah, but I know how to Train Your Dragon?
- 1:23:14Speaker 6: Baby?
- 1:23:15Speaker 5: Yeah, all right, he's on the board. Okay, let's go
- 1:23:22Speaker 5: to number three. So going forward. We know that Jonah
- 1:23:25Speaker 5: Hill is going to be in all of.
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: These movies, so if you don't have any make it easier,
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: should guess, John, you've not done that before.
- 1:23:34Speaker 5: No, please, let's go to number three.
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: Here.
- 1:23:38Speaker 5: This is another longer one. I've lost a shoe. Have
- 1:23:42Speaker 5: you seen it anywhere? Excuse me, missus, I've lost a
- 1:23:45Speaker 5: shoe like this one. It's like this one's fellow.
- 1:23:49Speaker 7: Yes, it's like a fellow.
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: It's forty year old or forty jesus, No, it is
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: forgetting Sarah Marshall. He said, four. Sorry, yes, we're getting
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: sir Marshall. All this snow name and it's uh Russell Brandt.
- 1:24:11Speaker 5: Right, you're gonna get the character and not the actor
- 1:24:16Speaker 5: that would But you got all three.
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: You got all three.
- 1:24:20Speaker 5: It's just sort of the exact opposite in fact of that,
- 1:24:23Speaker 5: not an evil version, but just you know, a shoe
- 1:24:26Speaker 5: like this but for the other foot. Otherwise i'd have
- 1:24:30Speaker 5: two red ones.
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: Fellow.
- 1:24:32Speaker 5: Yeah, I loved that.
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: That's such a good.
- 1:24:35Speaker 5: One to take it out.
- 1:24:37Speaker 6: That movie is so good.
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: It was tough to pick one from that so so good.
- 1:24:43Speaker 5: And I also didn't want to do another Paul Rudd
- 1:24:45Speaker 5: one because I would have said, like six, Paul, well
- 1:24:48Speaker 5: you can't do.
- 1:24:49Speaker 6: You can't because you know I know that right.
- 1:24:51Speaker 2: Right right, so I like, can you?
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: I would have got his name that.
- 1:25:00Speaker 4: Mm hmm.
- 1:25:03Speaker 7: Nobody even gets that one.
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: That's I didn't know what you said.
- 1:25:06Speaker 6: What did you say?
- 1:25:07Speaker 7: I'm Miranda, I have sex with everybody.
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: Yeah, it's great.
- 1:25:13Speaker 5: That was Jason Siegel was Pineapple drinks.
- 1:25:17Speaker 7: That was I tried to do that in Hawaii.
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: But yeah, pineapple drinks are the lion No.
- 1:25:26Speaker 7: The pineapple drinks. But we were just too active. I
- 1:25:28Speaker 7: would have like a pineapple drink and then we'd be
- 1:25:30Speaker 7: like snork lean and it would be gone in three
- 1:25:32Speaker 7: seconds because we were so active.
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: That's funny.
- 1:25:38Speaker 5: I was also debating of saying the.
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: Oh a wedding in Hawaii. How you know. I don't
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: know if I would have got that that one, I like,
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: because it's such a deep cut. I might have been like,
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: what is this Like?
- 1:25:56Speaker 7: Uh yeah, I would have gotten that one.
- 1:25:59Speaker 5: Yeah, Oh, all right, let's go to number four. It's
- 1:26:08Speaker 5: doggy style. It's just the style. We don't have to
- 1:26:11Speaker 5: go outside or anything.
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: Oh shit.
- 1:26:17Speaker 5: I had a hard time coming up with a quote
- 1:26:19Speaker 5: from this movie. It's doggy style. It's just the style.
- 1:26:24Speaker 5: We don't have to go outside or anything.
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: That's so funny.
- 1:26:28Speaker 7: It sounds vaguely familiar.
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: Big Wait, he's not in that though. I'm just gonna
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: say it. The one that popped into my head was
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: Zach and Murray make a Porno. But that Yeah, it's not.
- 1:26:46Speaker 5: But I will give Nate a little bit of a
- 1:26:47Speaker 5: cute clue that that same actor who he's thinking of
- 1:26:53Speaker 5: is saying this, mm hmm, just not in that movie.
- 1:27:01Speaker 7: It's not Gean Simon pop isn't It's not, oh good one,
- 1:27:08Speaker 7: because I know what it is. Yeah, what's his face is?
- 1:27:16Speaker 5: So why don't I just tell you the movie? It
- 1:27:19Speaker 5: is knocked up, Knocked Up, knocked up seth Rogen is saying.
- 1:27:25Speaker 1: It should have got that. Oh I've not seen that
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: one a bunch of times.
- 1:27:31Speaker 7: I've seen it.
- 1:27:32Speaker 5: Yeah, and there's another young Jonah Hill. Yeah, okay, let's
- 1:27:40Speaker 5: go to number five. Uh, this was like one of
- 1:27:44Speaker 5: the cleanest ones I could do from this movie. Number five.
- 1:27:49Speaker 5: I just want to go to the rooftops and scream
- 1:27:51Speaker 5: I love my best friend Evan, the super bad Jonah Hill. Yeah,
- 1:28:00Speaker 5: what's his name?
- 1:28:02Speaker 1: I know it oh, think of who rode? That was
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: last name they didn't put there.
- 1:28:13Speaker 7: I was like, I'm just imagining Emily, Emily Emma Stone.
- 1:28:20Speaker 7: Her real name is Emily. Thank you very much.
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: Oh wow, thank you.
- 1:28:28Speaker 7: Listen I did. My friend was friends with her, and
- 1:28:32Speaker 7: then I listened as SmartLess nice, holy ship? Why am I?
- 1:28:40Speaker 7: I'm totally blanking?
- 1:28:42Speaker 5: Okay, it's okay, you're way past the time land anyway, bugs,
- 1:28:47Speaker 5: what's what's Jonah Hill's character's name?
- 1:28:50Speaker 1: It is Seth.
- 1:28:51Speaker 5: So but Nate, you're on the board with two Bug's
- 1:28:54Speaker 5: got one? Seth and Evan Goldberg wrote it, where are
- 1:29:00Speaker 5: we after five?
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: That would be hard to find a quote from that
- 1:29:03Speaker 1: that's clean. It was.
