- 0:00SPEAKER_01: And now for the most Elmyra story.
- 0:02SPEAKER_01: Actually, you know what?
- 0:03SPEAKER_01: This has gotta be an epidemic.
- 0:04SPEAKER_01: If you were to take a you know, a carve out a section of New York State, because this actually happened in Syracuse.
- 0:11SPEAKER_01: So carve this out straight down.
- 0:13SPEAKER_01: Okay, you but you know, put your hands down and go, okay, from the top of the state, straight down.
- 0:18SPEAKER_01: We have an epidemic of either random vehicles that haven't run in years, sitting around.
- 0:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 0:25SPEAKER_01: Uh, you know, usually a 414.
- 0:27SPEAKER_01: You 414?
- 0:29SPEAKER_01: There's a random truck on Grove Street in Elmyra.
- 0:32SPEAKER_01: It's a box truck, a big ass box truck.
- 0:34SPEAKER_02: Like those trucks I feel like are very sought.
- 0:36SPEAKER_02: Wait, no, do you mean like box truck, like Amazon delivery box truck?
- 0:40SPEAKER_01: More older style.
- 0:41SPEAKER_01: Like it, you know, it probably carried fish to main harvest back in, you know, the early 90s.
- 0:47SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 0:48SPEAKER_01: So it's just randomly sitting there.
- 0:49SPEAKER_01: This is like kind of a weird epidemic we have, you know, where you're just like, oh, there's a random truck that's just or vehicle that hasn't run in years.
- 0:57SPEAKER_02: And things are very cyclical here.
- 0:58SPEAKER_02: Like whenever there would be like, you know, 10 mattresses on 86.
- 1:01SPEAKER_02: That happened all in one year.
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: Oh, God, that's right.
- 1:03SPEAKER_01: Well, now this has happened after being missing for 14 years.
- 1:08SPEAKER_01: A U-Haul trailer randomly ended up back at the store in central New York.
- 1:13SPEAKER_01: Here you go.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: So when I opened it up, I'm like, well, that's not normal.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: And then I was looking for the license plate, and the license plate's gone too, so I knew something was up.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: For 14 years, multiply that by$30 a day, it'd be about$153,000.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: And then you have to add on the tax, of course.
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: So that rounded up to about$165,000.
- 1:32SPEAKER_02: So do they know who actually rented it out X many years ago?
- 1:36SPEAKER_01: I don't think they have any of the information from back then because you got to figure 14 years ago, I don't know what their records were like, but they said they're not even going after the person that had it.
- 1:45SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 1:45SPEAKER_02: Well, and there's got to be cameras to show who brought it back.
- 1:48SPEAKER_01: This isn't like a I think that would be the case too, but they said they're not even gonna go after it.
- 1:52SPEAKER_01: They're just happy to have it back.
- 1:54SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 1:54SPEAKER_02: This isn't like a library book where you know there's those random stories of the library books.
- 1:59SPEAKER_02: Oh, they returned the library book 50 years later.
- 2:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 2:02SPEAKER_02: Well, think, yeah, of course.
- 2:03SPEAKER_02: So here you go.
- 2:04SPEAKER_02: Here's little women.
- 2:05SPEAKER_02: I want it out of my house.
- 2:06SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 2:07SPEAKER_02: I'm trying to declutter.
- 2:08SPEAKER_02: This was my garage for the past 14 years.
- 2:10SPEAKER_02: If you live at 414, you're trying to declutter too.
- 2:13SPEAKER_01: No, actually, you're not.
