- 0:012nd Corinthians Chapter 9. Let us pray, God.
- 0:08You are greater and higher than any other entity.
- 0:12Lord, we're praying for the peace that surpasses all
- 0:15understanding. God, I pray healing over our
- 0:17broken bodies and broken marriages.
- 0:19God, I'm praying, Lord, that you'll continue to raise up
- 0:26spiritual leaders. Father, raise up righteous
- 0:29judges. God, raise up those that will
- 0:33teach the nations about you. Father, I pray that you'll stir
- 0:38up a spirit of revival, God, all over this globe, every nation,
- 0:43every continent. We love you, Father.
- 0:46Thank you, God, for all the many blessings that you pour out on
- 0:49us. Thank you God, for the freedom
- 0:52that we have, Lord, to come and to worship you in spirit and
- 0:56truth. We thank you, God, that the keys
- 0:59were snatched to death and hell. We thank you, God, that we can
- 1:03experience the abundant life. Lord that you promised, God, I
- 1:06pray that you will kick down the doors.
- 1:10God, you'll scale the wall, Father, and find the one that is
- 1:14lost. God, I pray that you'll bring
- 1:18them back into the fold. Lord, I pray in the name of
- 1:21Jesus that you'll continue to lavish us with your presence,
- 1:27Lord, and take us to new heights and let us feel new depths.
- 1:31Father of your love and your mercy and your grace.
- 1:34God, we love you with all of our heart, with all of our strength,
- 1:38with all of our mind. Father, I pray in the name of
- 1:41Jesus, you'll give us a supernatural zeal for your house
- 1:44and let it consume us. Lord, I pray that you'll help us
- 1:48to rightly divide the word today as we get into it, God, let it
- 1:52get into US. Father, I pray we'll be filled
- 1:55with the Holy Ghost overflowing. God, I pray that we will be a
- 2:00blessing to others. Lord, I pray that you'll help us
- 2:03to share our testimony with others and the goodness of who
- 2:07Jesus Christ is and what he's done for us.
- 2:10Lord, I'm thank you, Father, that you have prepared a place
- 2:14for us, that we're seated with you there in heaven.
- 2:17I pray God that you'll come soon.
- 2:19Yes, Lord Maranatha, we cry out. The Spirit and the Bride say,
- 2:23come Lord, make every wrong thing right, God, and help us to
- 2:28be the answer, Lord, to what is happening in this world.
- 2:32Help us not to shrink back. Help us not to live in fear.
- 2:36Help us, God, to break off cowardice from us in the name of
- 2:40Jesus Christ. Help us, Lord, to be bold in our
- 2:43faith. Help us to be bold witnesses for
- 2:46such a time as this. For Father, you are worthy and
- 2:49holy and lovely and we love you God and I decrease as you
- 2:53increase and Holy Spirit you come and teach us and it's in
- 2:57Jesus Christ, holy and precious name that I pray.
- 3:01Amen. Well, let's start in verse one
- 3:07for as touching the ministering to the Saints, it is superfluous
- 3:12for me to write to you. So you need to know that Paul is
- 3:17wanting these Corinthian church congregants to know that he is
- 3:24coming, and whenever he comes, he wants them to already be on
- 3:29the same spiritual plateau that he is friends.
- 3:34And he wants to encourage them to.
- 3:38For I know the foreignness of your mind, for which I boast of
- 3:42you to them in Macedonia, that Achaea was ready a year ago.
- 3:46And your zeal has provoked very many.
- 3:49So Paul's going around and he's saying, look at the Corinthians.
- 3:53They are getting ready to give to the church in Jerusalem, and
- 3:58so should you. And so it has provoked many of
- 4:02the other churches because of the Corinthians obedience.
- 4:07It has provoked many to get together a blessing box to send
- 4:12to Jerusalem. 3 Yet have I sent the brothers, lest you're
- 4:19boasting, lest our boasting of you should be in vain in this
- 4:24behalf, that as I said, you may be ready, Paul saying, don't
- 4:27drop the ball now. Here we come.
- 4:30We're coming to gather it. Do not let us get there and find
- 4:33that you did not make good on your promise.
- 4:38For lest happily if they of Macedonia come with me and find
- 4:43you unprepared, we that we say not you should be ashamed in
- 4:48this same confident boasting. So he's saying when we come to
- 4:52you, we don't want to find you unprepared.
- 4:56It would be a shame not only to us, but also to you.
- 5:03Therefore I thought it necessary to exhort the brethren that they
- 5:08would go before you and make up beforehand your bounty, whereof
- 5:14you had noticed before that the same might be ready as a matter
- 5:19of bounty and not of covetousness.
- 5:21So he's saying he wants it to be given from the right posture in
- 5:25the right heart. And that is how God expects for
- 5:28our giving to be, not just to be moved with emotionalism, not
- 5:33just to be cohorted and to be thwarted towards it in the midst
- 5:39of a person who is giving a long spiel about giving.
- 5:46You need to be doing it because it's overflowing out of the
- 5:50natural heart. You need to be doing it in the
- 5:52private times of your time with the Lord and getting it ready
- 5:58before you go. Do not just be reactionary
- 6:02friends. But we need to be proactive.
- 6:05And that is what He is referencing here. 6 But this I
- 6:10say, he which sows sparingly shall reap also sparingly, and
- 6:15he which sows bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
- 6:20So that is what you need to understand is with the same
- 6:24measure that you give out is the same measure that is given back
- 6:28to you. If you're just giving little
- 6:30teaspoons out, you're going to get teaspoons back.
- 6:33But if you're giving pictures out, you're going to get
- 6:37pictures back. And that is the principle of
- 6:39God. And you cannot out give God.
- 6:42And God sees it as a very high spiritual practice that we are
- 6:49to be great stewards of our finances and not just squander
- 6:54it all the way and then wonder where it all went.
- 6:57It is a spiritual practice to be able to steward your finances.
- 7:03And that is why we are trapped by the enemy in this
- 7:08materialism. We are trapped by
- 7:12discontentment, we are trapped by commercialism and
- 7:17consumerism. And far be it from us, friends.
- 7:21We need to be sending these things ahead, friends.
- 7:24And that is how the Lord taught us not to put all of our
- 7:31adoration on this world, but to be preparing ourselves for what
- 7:36is to come, and by giving to the orphans and the widows and
- 7:41taking care of them in their time of distress.
- 7:44That is what is pleasing to God. And we need to be in tune with
- 7:50what God is doing in your circle of influence, in the needs of
- 7:53people that are in your circle of influence, and not just be so
- 7:59self-centered friends and so incredibly greedy friends with
- 8:05the blessings that God has given us.
- 8:08If God blesses you, it is to be a blessing to others. 7 Every
- 8:16man according as he purposed in his heart.
- 8:18So let him give, not grudgingly or of necessity, for God loves a
- 8:24cheerful giver. God loves a hilarious giver.
- 8:28And do not be surprised whenever people find out that you are
- 8:33giving, if they ridicule you. Do not be surprised friends,
- 8:40whenever you are giving and the world tells you to be different
- 8:47and to do differently. We need to be pleasing to God
- 8:52and God alone. We do not need to be worried
- 8:56about what the world tells us. We need to be spending our money
- 9:00upon. And God is well pleased with the
- 9:03man that is in tune with what he would have them to do with their
- 9:07finances. And we don't do it grudgingly,
- 9:10and we don't just move the decimal to get God off our back
- 9:17friends, so that we can do whatever we want with the 90%.
- 9:21You need to go to God and ask Him what it is that He would
- 9:24have you to give. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound
- 9:30towards you, that you always having all sufficiency, and all
- 9:34things may abound to every good work.
- 9:36That is what the great exchange is.
- 9:39Whenever you will go to God and ask God how he would direct your
- 9:43finances, He's going to turn right around.
- 9:46When you give out of that cheerful heart, then he is going
- 9:50to turn right around, and grace is going to shower you.
- 9:55Friends, you will have all sufficiency for everything that
- 10:00you need. Friends, he will make sure you
- 10:04have your food and your clothing and you will abound in every
- 10:09great work. So what is going to happen is
- 10:11you're going to, as you become a cheerful giver, it is going to
- 10:17result in a different countenance.
- 10:20You will have a different countenance before men, those
- 10:24that are greedy and stingy, it is written all over their faces
- 10:30in their body language. But those that are cheerful and
- 10:33they give liberally, it is written all over their
- 10:37countenance and all over their faces, friends and body
- 10:41language. And that is what you need to
- 10:43know as you operate within the realm of this life that God has
- 10:50given you. It is no surprise a man that is
- 10:55backslidden and a man that is walking in freedom, it is shown
- 11:01without him ever saying a word. 12 For the administration of the
- 11:06service not only supplies the walk of the Saints, but is
- 11:10abundant also by many Thanksgiving to God.
- 11:14That is what you need to know. There's a practical application
- 11:17that is intermingled with the spiritual application.
- 11:21And yes, in the practical people are getting fed and clothed, but
- 11:25in the spiritual you're sending those things ahead. 13 whiles by
- 11:31the experiment of this administration, they glorified
- 11:35God for your professed subjection unto the gospel of
- 11:38Christ, and for your liberal distribution unto them and to
- 11:43unto all men. So we are going to prove our
- 11:47faith by our works, and we're going to take care of the widows
- 11:51and the orphans in their time of distress.
- 11:54And we're going to make sure that there's nobody who's going
- 11:57hungry, friends. And that is the great practice
- 12:03that you're finding out here. Whenever we're going through
- 12:06this 9th chapter of Second Corinthians.
- 12:11It results in the Thanksgiving of God.
- 12:13It results in the distribution unto all man.
- 12:17It results in the glorifying of God.
- 12:20Friends, whenever we're subject to the good news of the Lord
- 12:24Jesus Christ, and we give because he gave 1st and we love
- 12:28because He love 1st. 14 And by their prayer for you, which long
- 12:35after you, for the exceeding grace of God in you, so he can
- 12:41see that their gift giving to the Saints in Jerusalem is going
- 12:46to produce the prayers in Jerusalem for the church in
- 12:55Corinth. And what a great exchange
- 12:59they're going to as the gift arrives there in Jerusalem.
- 13:03It is going to spark them to pray for them.
- 13:07And there is no greater gift than the gift of prayer Whenever
- 13:13someone says, hey, I want you to come alongside my ministry and
- 13:18you can partner with me in many ways.
- 13:20Just know the greatest way you can partner with somebody is in
- 13:26prayer, not in finances. At the end of Billy Graham's
- 13:34life, he said if he would have known how short life was, he
- 13:37would have spent more time in prayer.
- 13:40If we even understood the Daniel 10 concept of what prayer does
- 13:46in the spiritual realm, we'd spend a whole lot more time on
- 13:50our knees, friends. And that is what Paul is
- 13:53referencing here to the church in Corinth is saying, listen,
- 13:57when the gift arrives, it's going to spark them to pray for
- 14:03you. And there is no amount of money
- 14:07that could ever amount to the wealth that prayer produces. 15
- 14:19Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift, the gift of
- 14:24salvation and the gift of Yeshua.
- 14:28They are synonymous. They mean the same thing.
- 14:32Jesus is salvation, friends. And it is unspeakable because
- 14:38there's no word that was in the language at the time that could
- 14:44even measure up to the unspeakableness of Jesus Christ.
- 14:51Paul had to make up a word just to try to wrap our minds around
- 14:57how unspeakable this exchange is that we give a little money and
- 15:05then that results in this prayer.
- 15:11We devote our little 100 year life and we receive salvation by
- 15:18placing our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
- 15:23It's unspeakable the plan that God has put together for all
- 15:28those who will choose him. I hope you've been blessed by
- 15:34this amazing chapter here in God's Word.
- 15:36I know I sure have. I'm praying for every single one
- 15:39of you. We'll see you back here
- 15:47tomorrow. God bless you.
