- 0:05Speaker 1: let's take some calls. Eight hundred three two one zero
- 0:09Speaker 1: seven ten is the number. Let's go to Charles in Smithtown. Charles,
- 0:12Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 0:14Speaker 2: Ah? Yes, I just wanted to say. When I was
- 0:16Speaker 2: in the military, you had to obey all orders. One
- 0:21Speaker 2: night it was raining and we had to do some
- 0:24Speaker 2: preventive maintenance on the tank. And the guy that was
- 0:27Speaker 2: in charge of the tank says, oh, we could do
- 0:29Speaker 2: it the next day, but the platoon sergeant wanted it done.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Then the platoon sergeant brought the E five up on
- 0:35Speaker 2: a court and I had to go to a court martial.
- 0:38Speaker 2: They can they can be really screwy.
- 0:40Speaker 1: Wait, wait, are we cleaning a tank?
- 0:43Speaker 2: We it was. It was just a maintenance. It was
- 0:46Speaker 2: a recovery tank and we were doing maintenance on it.
- 0:49Speaker 2: It was in the combat zone. Oh, and so we
- 0:51Speaker 2: were doing maintenance on it one night. That could have
- 0:54Speaker 2: been done the next day during the day, but the
- 0:57Speaker 2: sergeant wanted us to do it that night during the ring.
- 1:00Speaker 1: All right, it sounds all silly. What combat zone was this?
- 1:03Speaker 2: Vietnam?
- 1:04Speaker 1: Oh you were in Vietnam? Oh yeah, Oh my god.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Uh I had another. I had another incident. We used
- 1:13Speaker 2: to have a police call in the morning with cigarette
- 1:15Speaker 2: butts and I had this one guy, he was one
- 1:18Speaker 2: rank above me, and he's pointing out cigarette butts and
- 1:21Speaker 2: call son, there's one there, son, there's another one. I said,
- 1:25Speaker 2: you're not my father, So you know what, I had
- 1:27Speaker 2: to go see the company commander.
- 1:29Speaker 1: You're gonna be honest with you. Out of all the
- 1:31Speaker 1: war stories I've heard about the bombing missions and air raids,
- 1:34Speaker 1: this is not the most exciting war story. A cigarette.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Well, this is what happens.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Cleaning a tank a cigarette. But this is not the
- 1:40Speaker 1: biggest war stories.
- 1:41Speaker 2: But it's this is well, I'm just saying, no, you
- 1:44Speaker 2: got a good point.
- 1:45Speaker 1: They court martial people over silly things.
- 1:47Speaker 2: But oh yeah, yeah, all right.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Charles, good, good, good call. Let's go to Mitchell, Monroe Township. Mitchell.
- 1:54Speaker 1: How you doing?
- 1:55Speaker 3: Oh well, thank you?
- 1:57Speaker 1: Inside the sofa? Are you in the trunk of a car?
- 2:01Speaker 1: Are you being kidnapped? Why are you all muffled?
- 2:03Speaker 3: Hello?
- 2:04Speaker 1: Yes, yes, I'm all right. I'll talk like you too.
- 2:07Speaker 1: I muffle my voice.
- 2:10Speaker 3: Yeah, a mark, I'm.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Do you have are you wearing like six masks? Why
- 2:14Speaker 1: do you sound all muffled.
- 2:17Speaker 3: No, I'm having trouble in my speech. I'm not a youngster.
- 2:20Speaker 3: Oh okay, I'm wondering with all the talk on this
- 2:24Speaker 3: dreadful attack on the synagogue. Yes, no one has brought
- 2:28Speaker 3: up the fact that the synagogue is two buildings down
- 2:32Speaker 3: from the nineteenth precinct.
- 2:35Speaker 1: That's true. It's he's sixty seventh Street, yeah.
- 2:38Speaker 3: Yes, and it's also near the train station. Now these
- 2:43Speaker 3: are protesters. The so called protesters did not arrive by
- 2:47Speaker 3: taxi cab. They must have come up from the subway
- 2:51Speaker 3: or down from the New seventy second Street.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Somebody, well, these are all good points. You know who's
- 2:55Speaker 1: going to be here next. I bet he'll know all
- 2:56Speaker 1: about this, Curtis Sliwa. We'll ask him about this protest,
- 2:59Speaker 1: and I will well ask him next. You have the
- 3:03Speaker 1: nineteenth precinct. But you gotta remember, you think, well, that's
- 3:06Speaker 1: a precinct right there. What safety not necessarily? You know,
- 3:10Speaker 1: sometimes cars get broken into right in front of the precinct.
- 3:12Speaker 1: You gotta remember it's a precinct. But the cops aren't
- 3:15Speaker 1: in there. They're all out patrolling that. That doesn't mean
- 3:17Speaker 1: they're all sitting in the building and looking out the windows.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Let's go to Joel in Florida. Joel, how you doing.
- 3:24Speaker 4: Good morning? More first things first, I want to wish
- 3:26Speaker 4: you and your family are very happy, healthy and a
- 3:30Speaker 4: safe thanksgiving. The same to Vincent and his family, Mara.
- 3:34Speaker 1: And let's not do the whole audience, but let's get
- 3:37Speaker 1: to the question.
- 3:37Speaker 4: Well only part of it. And yes, indeed, if you're
- 3:40Speaker 4: in the military, then they had done that. If you're
- 3:42Speaker 4: in the military and you're giving an order of any kind,
- 3:45Speaker 4: you must obey your order. If not, you watch subject
- 3:48Speaker 4: directly to the UCMJ at the court martial. Any order
