Appalachian Power is investing big in Putnam County, West Virginia, with the Estes Farm Substation Project — a two-phase upgrade set to future-proof the electric grid and keep power reliable as demand grows. Phase one kicks off in early 2028, building the substation and part of the transmission line, while phase two connects it to the existing Bancroft-Milton line by late 2032.
