Speaker 1: And now move the sticks with Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks.
• 0:07
Speaker 1: What's up? Everybody? Welcome to move the sticks on a
• 0:11
Speaker 1: week four recap show. Here, DJ, Bucky, rhtt with you
• 0:15
Speaker 1: and uh buck the teams we work for rough rough showings.
• 0:19
Speaker 1: Uh for the Chargers and the Jags. We will get
• 0:21
Speaker 1: to those games in a little bit. But rhtt, I'm
• 0:25
Speaker 1: not even gonna I'm just why hear it? What Indiana?
• 0:29
Speaker 1: He's wearing Indiana here?
• 0:31
Speaker 2: Like? What are we doing?
• 0:33
  Speaker 1: Like?
• 0:33
Speaker 2: What are we doing? I don't understand the rock? What
• 0:36
Speaker 2: rock are we talking about? What rock are we talking about?
• 0:39
Speaker 3: We're talking about the the limestone rock that houses a
• 0:43
Speaker 3: five and oh football team, the number twenty third ranked.
• 0:48
  Speaker 2: Idian Osiers.
• 0:50
  Speaker 1: Thank you.
• 0:50
Speaker 3: I will say they are five and oh for the
• 0:52
Speaker 3: first time since my dad was on campus.
• 0:55
Speaker 4: It still feels good.
• 0:56
Speaker 5: I should have you know what I should have googled.
• 0:59
Speaker 5: I should have googled it. I should have googled like
• 1:01
Speaker 5: the rock. I would have known. But I know, I
• 1:05
Speaker 5: know Kurt Signetty like this is a big fan of
• 1:08
Speaker 5: sending people to Google.
• 1:08
Speaker 2: I should have done it.
• 1:09
  Speaker 1: I should go that's all right, we'll get I can't
• 1:12
Speaker 1: wait to see where he's coaching next year. Man, that's
• 1:14
  Speaker 1: a good guys.
• 1:18
Speaker 2: Oh he's going He's going to Carolina. You didn't know.
• 1:23
Speaker 1: Now we're already off the rails. Let's let's just out
• 1:25
  Speaker 1: of the games.
• 1:26
  Speaker 2: All right.
• 1:26
Speaker 4: But the NFL games to get to.
• 1:28
Speaker 1: Yeah, we're gonna get to. The four teams are undefeated.
• 1:31
Speaker 1: Enternt this this weekend's play here that I'm very familiar
• 1:34
Speaker 1: with yesterday. There you go. I'll please Buck save us.
• 1:37
Speaker 1: You can start us off. We'll go Buffalo Baltimore. The
• 1:40
Speaker 1: Dereck Henry show, Buck ninety nine two touchdowns. This is
• 1:43
Speaker 1: Baltimore Ravens team not long ago is zero and two,
• 1:45
Speaker 1: and now they are right back where they want to
• 1:47
Speaker 1: be and playing well on all three phases.
• 1:50
Speaker 2: You know, it's funny, DJ.
• 1:51
Speaker 5: Sometimes you got to take two steps backwards before you
• 1:53
Speaker 5: go two steps forward. And when I look at the
• 1:55
Speaker 5: Baltimore Ravens, they had to get popped in the mouth
• 1:58
Speaker 5: until they decided, like, you know what, guys, I think
• 2:00
Speaker 5: we need to figure out.
• 2:01
Speaker 2: What our identity is.
• 2:02
Speaker 5: I think our identity is we're gonna run the football
• 2:04
Speaker 5: with Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson. We're gonna play great defense,
• 2:08
Speaker 5: and we're gonna win a bunch of games. And it's
• 2:10
Speaker 5: funny that they wasted a couple of games before they
• 2:12
Speaker 5: got to that, but they're here now, and the team
• 2:15
Speaker 5: that played on Sunday night, if they continue.
• 2:17
Speaker 2: To play that way, they're going to be a problem
• 2:20
  Speaker 2: for people.
• 2:20
Speaker 5: Because the combination of the two time rushing champ busting
• 2:24
Speaker 5: out for eighty yards on the first first time he
• 2:26
Speaker 5: touches it and then Lamar Jackson picking and choosing when
• 2:29
Speaker 5: he wants to run the ball. I don't know how
• 2:31
Speaker 5: you defense this unit. And the fact that Muckett has
• 2:34
Speaker 5: added some motions, some misdirection, some deception to enhance the
• 2:38
  Speaker 5: running game.
• 2:39
Speaker 2: Good luck Baltimore Ravens are back being what Baltimore Ravens are.
• 2:44
Speaker 3: Yeah, and you know what, I think, there's two things
• 2:46
Speaker 3: that I caught up with, outside of obviously the headline being,
• 2:49
Speaker 3: you know, the King rules and rains in Baltimore. Once again,
• 2:53
Speaker 3: that's Derrick Henry. But they made some changes along the
• 2:55
Speaker 3: offensive line. Patrick McCary, who had played a lot of
• 2:58
Speaker 3: right tackle the first three moved over to left guard
• 3:01
Speaker 3: and played every snap at left guard.
• 3:03
Speaker 4: And then they got Roger Rosengarden.
• 3:05
Speaker 3: Out there at right tackle, and he had some rough
• 3:08
Speaker 3: moments early in this season, but played really well in
• 3:12
Speaker 3: this game. And so I think that gave him their
• 3:14
Speaker 3: best five guys out there, you know, for this game
• 3:16
Speaker 3: in particular. And not only did Derrick Henry make this
• 3:20
Speaker 3: offense better, but Derek Henry made Justice Hill even more potent,
• 3:24
Speaker 3: right because you're getting pounded with Derrick Henry, you know,
• 3:27
Speaker 3: for twenty four carries, and then you got Justice Hill
• 3:31
Speaker 3: in here, like he looks even faster and more explosive.
• 3:35
Speaker 3: I think now that Henry is out there, right, I mean,
• 3:37
Speaker 3: like the change up there, and we.
• 3:40
Speaker 4: Talk about that a lot, but it feels real like
• 3:42
  Speaker 4: he caught.
• 3:42
Speaker 3: He was their leading receiver six passes, seventy eight yards,
• 3:45
Speaker 3: and I think just the way that you have to
• 3:47
Speaker 3: prepare to deal with Derrick Henry allows Justice Hill to
• 3:51
Speaker 3: find some explosiveness, you know, through the pass game and
• 3:54
Speaker 3: some of those quick throws, screen passes. Man, it's just
• 3:58
Speaker 3: it's hard to deal with DJ and you got all
• 4:00
Speaker 3: that going at once.
• 4:02
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 4:02
Speaker 1: And another thing, look, I watched Rosengarden was one of
• 4:05
Speaker 1: the notes that I had made. You've watched their explosive runs.
• 4:08
Speaker 1: He shows up and the explosive runs. A nice job
• 4:10
Speaker 1: there out on the right side the one. The other
• 4:13
Speaker 1: note I wrote down was with Patrick Ricard, and I
• 4:16
Speaker 1: see it with the Charges, we'll get to them later.
• 4:18
Speaker 1: But with Scott Mattlock. Remember a few years ago when
• 4:21
Speaker 1: Deebo first hit and it was like, okay, we talked
• 4:23
Speaker 1: about finding Debo with a little play on words there.
• 4:27
Speaker 1: You know, teams are going to try and find a
• 4:28
Speaker 1: guy to uses this kind of wing back and to
• 4:30
Speaker 1: be able to get the ball, flip it to him
• 4:32
Speaker 1: do different things. What Patrick Riccard does is so unique
• 4:35
Speaker 1: as a three hundred pound full back slash h back,
• 4:39
Speaker 1: and you look at again a lot of those big
• 4:41
Speaker 1: runs he's delivering key blocks. He can, he's got really
• 4:44
Speaker 1: really good feet, he fits up well, and it's just
• 4:46
Speaker 1: it's like add to an extra fifty sixty pounds to
• 4:49
Speaker 1: the position. You know, in a league where not many
• 4:52
Speaker 1: people really even have full backs or use full backs,
• 4:55
Speaker 1: they've got the unique one that's three hundred pounds. And
• 4:57
Speaker 1: I see the Chargers are starting to get more and
• 4:59
Speaker 1: more use of Scott matt Lock the same way Buck.
• 5:02
Speaker 1: I wonder from a scouting trend, if you're going to
• 5:04
Speaker 1: see a lot of these defensive linemen at these pro days.
• 5:07
Speaker 1: You know, some of these guys who are maybe mid
• 5:09
Speaker 1: round picks, late round picks, getting cross trained a little
• 5:12
Speaker 1: bit to see if they can't fill that role.
• 5:14
Speaker 5: I mean, why wouldn't you, Why wouldn't you take advantage
• 5:16
Speaker 5: of the big guys, And we think about defensive line
• 5:18
Speaker 5: and the athleticism that day ten to possess over there.
• 5:21
Speaker 5: Offensive line, brethren, you have an opportunity to get a
• 5:25
Speaker 5: sledgehammer that can lead.
• 5:27
Speaker 2: Block, that can do a few different things.
• 5:29
Speaker 5: So you're right, this is part of a trend that
• 5:31
Speaker 5: I expect to continue to see because we're seeing the
• 5:35
Speaker 5: game kind of go back. We're going back in time
• 5:37
Speaker 5: where we're seeing more twenty one personnel, more bigs on
• 5:40
Speaker 5: the field, more old.
• 5:40
  Speaker 2: School running game.
• 5:42
Speaker 5: So you know, it's just a matter of time before
• 5:43
Speaker 5: we see the four backs re emerging, some of those
• 5:45
Speaker 5: fullbacks and it'll be former DLA a.
• 5:47
Speaker 1: Real quick RHTT and then Buck follow up any concern
• 5:50
Speaker 1: I don't have any concern about the Bills in this one.
• 5:52
Speaker 1: They kind of walked into the founds nests in a
• 5:53
  Speaker 1: night game.
• 5:55
Speaker 3: And Josh Allen said the same things, like we walked
• 5:56
Speaker 3: into a buzz sow and look, I think you're going
• 5:58
Speaker 3: to have some of those. And as he said, I think,
• 6:01
Speaker 3: you know, I'm glad we got this one now, right.
• 6:04
Speaker 3: So you know, if you felt like maybe there were
• 6:06
Speaker 3: some flaws maybe just play, you know, didn't play up
• 6:08
Speaker 3: to up to the standard in this game, you know
• 6:10
Speaker 3: that can be fixed. And and if there were some
• 6:13
Speaker 3: things that that they noticed on tape that that obviously
• 6:15
Speaker 3: the Ravens were ready for, then this gives them an
• 6:17
Speaker 3: opportunity to correct those and get back in there and
• 6:20
  Speaker 3: get things done. But yeah, I don't I don't imagine
• 6:23
Speaker 3: that the Josh Allen led Bills are going to have
• 6:25
Speaker 3: many more games like this against the top competition. I'm
• 6:29
Speaker 3: just glad that he's okay after this hit right here,
• 6:33
Speaker 3: which you know had us kind of wondering for a
• 6:35
Speaker 3: little bit because he was down on the ground.
• 6:37
  Speaker 1: Buck, no concerns.
• 6:38
Speaker 5: My only concern would be without a true number one
• 6:42
Speaker 5: receiver on the perimeter. When they played the good teams,
• 6:45
Speaker 5: the elite teams, how did they deal? We didn't see
• 6:47
  Speaker 5: that offense flow.
• 6:48
  Speaker 3: Man.
• 6:48
Speaker 5: I obviously saw it at his best at Monday night
• 6:51
Speaker 5: where they were going to Licary Core and everyone can go.
• 6:54
Speaker 5: They were, they were doing their thing. But I do
• 6:56
Speaker 5: wonder with al Stefan Diggs, without Gabe Davis, as they're
• 7:00
Speaker 5: relying on this wide receiver by committee when they play
• 7:03
Speaker 5: some of the elite teams, do they have enough firepower
• 7:06
Speaker 5: to do it without Josh Allen having to play like
• 7:08
Speaker 5: a superhero because he had to kind of go into
• 7:10
Speaker 5: superhero mode on Sunday night, and it wasn't good for
• 7:14
Speaker 5: the Buffalo Bills when he.
• 7:15
Speaker 2: Has to play like that.
• 7:16
Speaker 1: Yeah, I think the Ravens are just a tough matchup
• 7:18
Speaker 1: for a lot of teams. You just don't see teams
• 7:20
Speaker 1: play the way they play really on both sides of
• 7:22
Speaker 1: the ball. So I'm willing to forgive that performance from
• 7:25
Speaker 1: the Buffalo Bills. Let's get to the next game here,
• 7:28
Speaker 1: another undefeated team, the Kansas City Chiefs. It hasn't been pretty.
• 7:31
Speaker 1: Wasn't pretty in this game. You know, I was there
• 7:33
Speaker 1: calling the game for the Chargers. Ten nothing. Chargers are
• 7:35
Speaker 1: up early and then you see, you know, the quick
• 7:38
Speaker 1: strike ability which really hasn't been there for this Chiefs
• 7:41
Speaker 1: offense for quite some time. They go max protection, they
• 7:44
Speaker 1: take the deep shot to Xavier where he gets them
• 7:46
Speaker 1: right back in the game. It's next thing, you know,
• 7:48
Speaker 1: it's ten to ten. They find a way to put
• 7:50
Speaker 1: a drive together and ended up winning this ball game
• 7:52
Speaker 1: seventeen to ten offensively. I still, you know, there's issues
• 7:55
Speaker 1: with the Chiefs man a huge injury Rashi Rice, who
• 7:58
Speaker 1: had been really passing offense the entirety of it. He
• 8:01
Speaker 1: goes down with a torn acl unfortunately on this actually
• 8:05
Speaker 1: on this interception return by Christian Fulton is when it happened.
• 8:08
Speaker 1: It was a little friendly fire there. So from Patrick Mahomes,
• 8:12
Speaker 1: you hate to see that, but that's that's an offense.
• 8:15
Speaker 1: Kelsey started to get going a little bit, so that's
• 8:17
Speaker 1: a promising sign for the Chiefs. I don't think their
• 8:20
Speaker 1: tackles are very good. They got exposed again in this game.
• 8:23
Speaker 1: That would be a reason to be concerned for the
• 8:25
Speaker 1: chief side of things. But you know, Buck, we always
• 8:28
Speaker 1: say it, right, Winners win. They find ways when they
• 8:30
Speaker 1: need to make plays. When they needed to get a
• 8:32
Speaker 1: first down late in the ballgame, they run a little
• 8:35
Speaker 1: mesh and they get Xavier Worthy on Sante Samuel Junior
• 8:39
Speaker 1: on a little under and he's that ice is the
• 8:41
Speaker 1: game finishes the game. So that's from the chief side
• 8:43
Speaker 1: of things, Chargers Charger side of things, the positives. Look,
• 8:47
Speaker 1: he held the Chiefs to seventeen points. You know, so
• 8:49
Speaker 1: your defense is playing well. You got after Patrick Mahomes,
• 8:52
Speaker 1: You sacked him I think three times in this ballgame.
• 8:55
Speaker 1: McConkie made some plays, which is good to see. I
• 8:57
Speaker 1: think he's going to be a good player. But when
• 8:59
Speaker 1: you're down tackles, man, I mean we derwin James Bosa.
• 9:03
Speaker 1: That's one thing. The defense was still fine, but offensive.
• 9:06
Speaker 1: We think about fifteen pressures, and part of that's on
• 9:09
Speaker 1: just not having you know, as not many teams do
• 9:12
Speaker 1: the depth to be able to absorb those types of injuries.
• 9:15
Speaker 1: And then part of it is look this Chiefs defensive front,
• 9:18
Speaker 1: they're good and there are guys like Wharton who nobody
• 9:20
Speaker 1: talks about, Carloftis who can bowl rush hip and then
• 9:23
Speaker 1: Chris Jones is a dominant player. So I mean, I've
• 9:27
Speaker 1: fault the Chargers for giving up the pressures, but I
• 9:29
Speaker 1: don't want to short the Chiefs their credit for what
• 9:30
Speaker 1: they did up front.
• 9:32
Speaker 5: Yeah, really good team. Kens and Chiefs know how to do.
• 9:35
Speaker 5: And you talked about winners winning, they experienced their expertise.
• 9:38
Speaker 5: The fact that they've been able to do this three
• 9:40
Speaker 5: out the last four years, kind of knowing what it
• 9:42
Speaker 5: takes to get to the final, the final game. There's
• 9:46
Speaker 5: some confidence that comes with that, and the fact that
• 9:48
Speaker 5: they've been able to do it differently. They've done with
• 9:49
Speaker 5: a high powered offense, they've done it with defense playing.
• 9:52
Speaker 2: At an a level.
• 9:53
Speaker 5: They have the ability to morph into whatever team they
• 9:56
Speaker 5: need to to win games. And that's a dangerous thing
• 9:59
Speaker 5: to face because they just can change spees and Andy
• 10:02
Speaker 5: Reid is willing to do whatever it.
• 10:04
  Speaker 2: Takes to win.
• 10:05
Speaker 5: As long as you can't see the Chiefs do that, man,
• 10:07
Speaker 5: you have to deal with them if you're going to
• 10:09
Speaker 5: get to the AFC title game.
• 10:10
Speaker 4: I think a couple of things on this one.
• 10:12
Speaker 3: Obviously, DJ, you saw the you know, the Rashi Rice
• 10:14
Speaker 3: injury didn't look good obviously when it happened. You know,
• 10:17
Speaker 3: everyone talking about the ACL is what's been feared, you
• 10:20
Speaker 3: know for him, who is their number one wide receiver,
• 10:23
Speaker 3: right And then now we saw a re emergence of
• 10:27
Speaker 3: Travis Kelcey back in this offense with the you know,
• 10:30
Speaker 3: the eight or the seven catches on the nine targets,
• 10:32
Speaker 3: and you do wonder, like what difference would a Derwin
• 10:35
Speaker 3: James have made in this game on that player in particular.
• 10:40
Speaker 4: But I think what I'm most curious about now.
• 10:43
Speaker 3: Is without Rice, who was the guy in the past
• 10:48
Speaker 3: game so far this year for this offense, what does
• 10:51
  Speaker 3: Worthy become?
• 10:52
Speaker 4: Like what did what did you see out there?
• 10:54
Speaker 3: And how they deployed Worthy DJ from watching this thing
• 10:57
Speaker 3: up close and personal, and like, where do you think
• 11:00
Speaker 3: his role expands and can it really expand to account
• 11:03
Speaker 3: for the loss of Rice.
• 11:05
Speaker 1: Well, he hasn't you know, run the full complement of
• 11:08
Speaker 1: routes coming into this game, and really after that first week,
• 11:10
Speaker 1: he didn't even see him really involve. He's just basically
• 11:12
Speaker 1: been a vertical stretch option for them and they haven't.
• 11:15
Speaker 1: I think that was they threw the stat up during
• 11:17
Speaker 1: the game. I think that was Mahomes's first fifty plus
• 11:20
Speaker 1: yard touchdown pass since like twenty twenty two, which is
• 11:23
Speaker 1: shocking when you think about how vertical this passing game
• 11:26
Speaker 1: used to be once upon a time. But he's gonna
• 11:28
Speaker 1: have to start running more routes. He's gonna have start
• 11:30
Speaker 1: doing more things. You saw it with a shallow cross,
• 11:32
Speaker 1: you know, late in the game, which was good to see.
• 11:33
Speaker 1: From the chief standpoint. But add Adden, you know, just
• 11:38
Speaker 1: just more ways to get yeah, no, yeah, and no.
• 11:41
Speaker 1: And they're gonna they're gonna give him. They're gonna throw
• 11:43
Speaker 1: the screens, They're gonna get those little quick hitters in
• 11:46
Speaker 1: those now routes and zip those out to them. He'll
• 11:48
Speaker 1: get those, but he's gonna have to develop more and
• 11:50
Speaker 1: and they're gonna have to get something out of Juju Smith,
• 11:53
Speaker 1: Schuster and some of these other guys. It's not gonna
• 11:55
Speaker 1: be enough. You know, Kelsey is going to each up
• 11:58
Speaker 1: if you want to play zone against him, but I
• 12:00
Speaker 1: I you know, you look at how to match up
• 12:02
Speaker 1: with the Chiefs and you're gonna have to You're gonna
• 12:05
Speaker 1: have to get up there and challenge them. And that's
• 12:07
Speaker 1: where you know, that's where Worthy has to win. He
• 12:09
Speaker 1: has to win when you get those those opportunities.
• 12:12
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 12:13
Speaker 5: The thing that Andy Ree can always lean on is
• 12:15
Speaker 5: he can go back to that old Philadelphia Eagles playbook
• 12:17
Speaker 5: and figure out a way to uh use the same.
• 12:20
Speaker 2: Plays that he used for Deshaun DeShawn Jackson.
• 12:23
Speaker 5: He can use those plays for Xavier Worthy and you
• 12:25
Speaker 5: will see more of the shallow crosses show up because
• 12:29
Speaker 5: Xavier Worthy is really good at that. You will see
• 12:31
Speaker 5: the occasional vertical shots and the screens and things. Uh,
• 12:34
Speaker 5: He'll have plenty of opportunities to have his impact on
• 12:37
  Speaker 5: the game.
• 12:38
Speaker 2: But you're right, it's the other guy who has to
• 12:39
  Speaker 2: show show up?
• 12:41
Speaker 5: Is it? Juju Smith Schuster h being a guy that
• 12:43
Speaker 5: kind of morphs into their second dependable wide receiver outside
• 12:47
Speaker 5: of Travis Kelsey because Kelsey now goes to the top
• 12:50
  Speaker 5: of the list.
• 12:51
Speaker 2: When it comes to the targets.
• 12:53
Speaker 5: Uh, can Juju you give them that chain mover presence
• 12:56
Speaker 5: while you have Xavier Worthy continue to expand his game
• 13:00
Speaker 5: become more than just kind of like that one trick
• 13:02
Speaker 5: pony as the big play specialist.
• 13:04
Speaker 1: Yeah, Noah Gray too.
• 13:07
Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, you use more tight one of those two
• 13:09
Speaker 3: tight insights because Juju wasn't targeted once in this game.
• 13:12
Speaker 1: No, well, I know one thing, sky Morey can be
• 13:14
Speaker 1: targeted again either, because they gave him one third down
• 13:16
Speaker 1: opportunity on outroute ball went right through his hands. And uh,
• 13:20
Speaker 1: I don't know how much it like he's going to
• 13:21
Speaker 1: be in the I don't know how much long he's
• 13:23
Speaker 1: going to be in the trust tree. H After that?
• 13:26
  Speaker 2: All right, let's uh, let's.
• 13:27
Speaker 1: Let's keep it moving here. Let's get to the Minnesota game. Minnesota,
• 13:30
Speaker 1: green Bay, Jordan Love back in the mix twenty yards,
• 13:33
Speaker 1: had some turnovers. Overall, I think on the Green Bay
• 13:35
Speaker 1: side of things, you feel encouraged that he's healthy enough
• 13:39
Speaker 1: to do everything you need to do going forward. But
• 13:41
Speaker 1: Minnesota got out to a nice lead and was able
• 13:42
Speaker 1: to hold on. As you see on the screen here,
• 13:44
Speaker 1: Sam Darnold multiple TD passes four straight games. Justin Jefferson
• 13:48
Speaker 1: was outstanding. Aaron Jones still showed he has more in
• 13:51
Speaker 1: the tank going through and and and watching this team,
• 13:55
Speaker 1: they're they're very well coached. They are a very well
• 13:59
Speaker 1: coached team. And I don't know that you can say
• 14:01
Speaker 1: that in a lot of these games when you're when
• 14:02
  Speaker 1: you're going through and you're you're you're scratching your head
• 14:05
Speaker 1: and asking questions on both sides of the ball. In
• 14:08
Speaker 1: terms of offensive play caller defensive play caller, I don't
• 14:12
Speaker 1: know red I'd put them in the in the top
• 14:14
Speaker 1: throt in the league when you when you combine when
• 14:17
Speaker 1: you combine that those two guys with Flores defensively and
• 14:20
Speaker 1: what koc is doing offensively, I think.
• 14:23
  Speaker 4: That's a great point.
• 14:23
Speaker 3: I mean, we've talked on on on this show quite
• 14:25
Speaker 3: a bit about what Brian Flores does on the defensive
• 14:28
Speaker 3: side of the ball, but I want to talk about what,
• 14:30
Speaker 3: you know, a re emergence of a big time explosive
• 14:34
Speaker 3: player does for Kevin O'Connell calling the plays and game
• 14:36
Speaker 3: planning this offense. Jordan Addison returns after the Week one
• 14:40
Speaker 3: injury and looks as explosive as we have ever seen him.
• 14:44
Speaker 3: He had the two touchdowns in this game, one of
• 14:46
Speaker 3: the ground, one through the air, and you know, four catches,
• 14:49
Speaker 3: four targets, seventy eight yards. I mean when you pair
• 14:52
Speaker 3: that with Justin Jefferson, and then you know Jalen Naylor
• 14:55
Speaker 3: has played really well, you know, in in uh.
• 14:59
  Speaker 4: In Adison's absence.
• 15:00
Speaker 3: But the thing that I thought, you know, watching this
• 15:02
Speaker 3: is you look at how defenses want to play a
• 15:05
Speaker 3: Justin Jefferson offense. Right, They're gonna, if they're in a
• 15:08
Speaker 3: if it's not a too high look, they're gonna shade
• 15:10
Speaker 3: that single safety to the Justin Jefferson side. And I
• 15:13
Speaker 3: think now defenses are gonna be like, we we can't
• 15:16
Speaker 3: do that. Because Addison won on a stutter go uh
• 15:20
Speaker 3: that I mean that went for a score through the
• 15:22
Speaker 3: I mean that was there was no contest like him
• 15:25
Speaker 3: one on one on that side with with nobody over
• 15:28
  Speaker 3: the top.
• 15:29
Speaker 4: You gotta you gotta play.
• 15:30
Speaker 3: I think they're gona see a ton of two high
• 15:32
Speaker 3: looks now, but you're gonna you're gonna play this this
• 15:34
Speaker 3: offense straight up with Addison in there, like you cannot
• 15:37
Speaker 3: overplay to Jefferson because Addison will crush you. And then
• 15:40
Speaker 3: they can get him the ball in so many ways
• 15:42
Speaker 3: that little uh, that little end round that they had
• 15:44
Speaker 3: him on, the moves that he made with the ball
• 15:46
Speaker 3: in his hands to get into the end zone. There,
• 15:48
Speaker 3: his stop start, quickness, fluidity at the top of the
• 15:51
Speaker 3: routes in and out of breaks.
• 15:52
Speaker 4: It's just, uh, it's so much fun to watch.
• 15:55
Speaker 3: And I mean, I'd love to be Kevin O'Connell Callen
• 15:57
  Speaker 3: plays right now.
• 15:59
  Speaker 1: You know.
• 15:59
Speaker 5: It's funny, DJ, because you talked about any two play
• 16:04
Speaker 5: callers that are better than this duo that we have
• 16:06
Speaker 5: up in Minnesota. And I go back to that visit
• 16:08
Speaker 5: that we had last summer, Red and I were up
• 16:10
Speaker 5: there and Brian Floydes is just teaching the defense and
• 16:13
Speaker 5: they're working on pre snap, the skies and post snap
• 16:15
Speaker 5: movement and how everything is coordinated. And I remember last
• 16:18
Speaker 5: year it was smoking mirrors because he didn't have the
• 16:20
Speaker 5: personnel that would give him an opportunity to really dominate.
• 16:24
Speaker 5: So he did a lot of with schematics and creativity
• 16:27
Speaker 5: and tricks and those things. Fast forward a year later,
• 16:30
Speaker 5: he now has better personnel and he's doing the same thing.
• 16:33
Speaker 2: And they just have what I call a high IQ.
• 16:36
Speaker 5: Defense because they can throw so many different things at you,
• 16:39
Speaker 5: and because they're really smart in the back end, they
• 16:42
Speaker 5: can execute it. This combination of offense and defense is
• 16:46
Speaker 5: one of the best combinations in football. And I know
• 16:50
Speaker 5: we didn't talk about the Minnesota Vikings being contenders coming
• 16:53
Speaker 5: into the year, but to me, the way that they
• 16:55
Speaker 5: have just kind of rolled through these first four games,
• 16:57
Speaker 5: they're absolutely in that conversation as one of the best,
• 17:00
Speaker 5: if not the best team in football.
• 17:03
Speaker 1: It's also a point I was talking with Romo before
• 17:05
Speaker 1: the game yesterday and I was talking about the advantage
• 17:07
Speaker 1: the Chiefs have with having Spags who's not getting head
• 17:10
Speaker 1: coaching looks, so you have that continuity with Andy Reid. Offensively,
• 17:13
Speaker 1: you just keep building and building and building, and then
• 17:15
Speaker 1: when you have defensively you get into the graduate level courses.
• 17:19
Speaker 1: So I don't know what's gonna happen with Floraes if
• 17:21
Speaker 1: he's gonna get another opportunity. Obviously, it did not go
• 17:24
Speaker 1: well at all and his first stint as a head coach,
• 17:27
Speaker 1: and I hope for his sake, if that's what he wants,
• 17:29
Speaker 1: he'll get another opportunity. But I could envision this being
• 17:32
Speaker 1: a situation where these guys are there together for quite
• 17:35
Speaker 1: some time and they can have some stability and really
• 17:37
Speaker 1: build something special there with Minnesota. One positive note before
• 17:41
Speaker 1: we move on on Green Bay. Jayden Reid seven for
• 17:43
Speaker 1: a buck thirty nine. When I went and watched his
• 17:46
Speaker 1: targets in this game, he can play inside, he can
• 17:48
Speaker 1: play outside. He works in the middle of the field,
• 17:51
Speaker 1: he works back to the ball. He's an outstanding hands catcher,
• 17:54
Speaker 1: like he plucks everything, attacks the ball in the air.
• 17:58
Speaker 1: He's instinctive when the play breaks down. He is a really,
• 18:00
Speaker 1: really good player. So for everyone wondering kind of who
• 18:03
Speaker 1: that go to guy is for Green Bay, all those
• 18:05
Speaker 1: different receivers that they have, I think he might be
• 18:08
Speaker 1: the toughest cover of any of those guys, and if
• 18:11
  Speaker 1: I was Jordan Love, I needed a completion. That's where
• 18:13
Speaker 1: I'm going. I just feel very confident and comfortable with him.
• 18:16
Speaker 1: I think he's a really, really good football player. All right,
• 18:19
Speaker 1: let's keep it, keep the train rolling here. Pittsburgh, Indy.
• 18:21
Speaker 1: Pittsburgh entered this game undefeated. Actually, Buck was a you know,
• 18:25
Speaker 1: a good stat game for justin fields. It's some nice
• 18:28
Speaker 1: things offensively. Pittsburgh came back and got back into this
• 18:31
Speaker 1: ball game. But you have the injury to Anthony Richardson,
• 18:34
Speaker 1: and Joe Flacco just fills right in. I mean, that's
• 18:37
Speaker 1: a nice luxury to have to be able to throw
• 18:39
  Speaker 1: him in there.
• 18:40
Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a nice luxury to have.
• 18:41
Speaker 5: But if I'm Chris badd, I'm beginning to get a
• 18:43
Speaker 5: little worried and concerned about Anthony Richardson. Having to lead
• 18:46
Speaker 5: the game so often has been a part of his
• 18:49
Speaker 5: injury history. Like he gets banged up, he gets beat up.
• 18:52
Speaker 5: That's been a part of his deal since he left
• 18:55
Speaker 5: high school. But man, our franchise guy, he's never available,
• 18:59
Speaker 5: and we went get insurance.
• 19:01
Speaker 2: We got Joe Flacco.
• 19:02
Speaker 5: But when you think about what they have done in
• 19:04
Speaker 5: terms of putting this offense together and how they build it.
• 19:07
Speaker 2: They build it with Anthony Bridgson in mind. He's not
• 19:09
Speaker 2: available to play at some point.
• 19:12
Speaker 5: Man, it becomes frustrating if you're Shane Stycking trying to
• 19:14
Speaker 5: figure out how to build an offense around the player
• 19:17
Speaker 5: that is never available to play. Yeah.
• 19:20
Speaker 3: I was watching this one on Game Day Live, and
• 19:23
Speaker 3: obviously we we played this one heavy when it went
• 19:25
Speaker 3: when it went in, and you know, you saw the
• 19:28
Speaker 3: hit happen initially and you're like, oh man, it just
• 19:30
Speaker 3: doesn't look comfortable, you know, trying to get down right
• 19:34
Speaker 3: and take care of himself. And and it was Mika
• 19:37
Speaker 3: Fitzpatrick that came in and kind of lit him up
• 19:39
Speaker 3: the first time. And then he comes back in and
• 19:43
Speaker 3: you can kind of see he's trying to he's trying
• 19:44
Speaker 3: to look run. It just didn't look and then he's
• 19:47
Speaker 3: still trying to like kind of get down and takes
• 19:50
Speaker 3: another big shot. I'm just glad he didn't end up
• 19:53
Speaker 3: with a you know, a head injury as well. On
• 19:55
Speaker 3: how that ended up going down when he met Fitzpatrick
• 19:58
Speaker 3: Fitzpatrick for the second time. The good news for the
• 20:01
Speaker 3: Colts is they you know, as you said, Flacco is
• 20:04
Speaker 3: a great luxury to have as a backup quarterback. I mean,
• 20:07
Speaker 3: that was a great signing by Ballard to go ahead
• 20:09
Speaker 3: and get him. But Josh Downs is back in a
• 20:12
Speaker 3: big way for this team, and you know, missed the
• 20:14
Speaker 3: first couple of weeks coming back from the high ankle
• 20:15
Speaker 3: he suffered early in training camp. I remember seeing him,
• 20:18
Speaker 3: you know, in this in training camp, and I was like,
• 20:20
Speaker 3: holy smoked, Josh Downs is explosive, you know, and we
• 20:24
Speaker 3: saw glimpses of that certainly early in his career and
• 20:27
Speaker 3: then now coming in here. I mean, he's something that
• 20:30
Speaker 3: the Colts didn't really have. I mean, you look at
• 20:33
Speaker 3: the weapons on this team and even throwing Jonathan Taylor
• 20:35
Speaker 3: into it. We talked about building the basketball team like
• 20:37
Speaker 3: he is that that guard. He is that guy that
• 20:40
Speaker 3: can get shifty in the slot. The way that he
• 20:43
Speaker 3: works on some of these option routes. It's like, I
• 20:46
Speaker 3: do I do not envy being on defense and having
• 20:49
Speaker 3: to cover Josh Downs one on one. And the Steelers,
• 20:53
Speaker 3: you know, found that out pretty quickly with him in
• 20:55
Speaker 3: the slot there, even when he catches it short of
• 20:56
Speaker 3: the sticks, which he did.
• 20:58
Speaker 4: On a little out route late in the game.
• 21:01
Speaker 3: I mean the move that he made with the ball
• 21:02
Speaker 3: in his hands to ditch the first tackler and then
• 21:05
Speaker 3: get the first down on a third and nine. I mean,
• 21:07
Speaker 3: he had the guy that forced him out of bounce
• 21:08
Speaker 3: going like this, like what I mean, what do we do?
• 21:11
Speaker 4: What do we do? He was just winning on every route.
• 21:14
Speaker 3: And you know, like you think about all the guys
• 21:16
Speaker 3: that they have Pierce and Ady Mitchell and Michael Pittman
• 21:18
Speaker 3: and all those big, towering tight ends, He's the guy
• 21:22
Speaker 3: that's different, that just feels different from the body type
• 21:25
Speaker 3: and that kind of slithery, explosive in and out of
• 21:28
Speaker 3: breaks perspective from the slot. It's that I think that
• 21:31
Speaker 3: gives the Colts a real weapon, certainly with Flacco back
• 21:34
Speaker 3: there too, that can you know, really kind of understand
• 21:37
Speaker 3: where and how Josh Downs wants to operate.
• 21:40
Speaker 1: Just for a reminder, Joe Flacco was picked one spot
• 21:43
Speaker 1: after Gaster cherlests in one spot before Jeff Otah in
• 21:47
Speaker 1: that draft. It's been a minute Joe Flacco has been around.
• 21:49
Speaker 1: That was the Jake Long Chris Long Draft in two
• 21:52
Speaker 1: thousand and eight. Joe Flacco has been playing football for
• 21:55
Speaker 1: a long time. As the point that I'm that I'm
• 21:57
Speaker 1: getting at. Probably haven't thought of Jeff Otah in a minute, buck,
• 22:00
Speaker 1: Have you given any decade uh.
• 22:06
Speaker 3: Days days older than Anthony Richardson's mom or eight days
• 22:09
Speaker 3: younger one of the two.
• 22:11
Speaker 4: They're like close in age. So it's like, yeah, that
• 22:13
  Speaker 4: tells you.
• 22:14
Speaker 3: Yeah, that's hey, hats off to Joe FLACKA way to go, buddy.
• 22:25
Speaker 1: And man, I'll tell you what. It was a crusta
• 22:27
Speaker 1: victory for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers over the Philadelphia Eagles.
• 22:30
Speaker 1: We can we can start good or bad. Ratt. I'll
• 22:32
Speaker 1: let you uh, I'll let you kick us off here.
• 22:34
Speaker 1: You can go good Tampa, or you can go pretty
• 22:37
Speaker 1: bad there on the foul on the Philly side are
• 22:39
Speaker 1: gonna go? Now, you chose violence today, Go ahead.
• 22:42
Speaker 3: It does go hand in hand, though, I think, and look,
• 22:45
Speaker 3: I think offensively, we all understand that the Eagles were
• 22:47
Speaker 3: short handed, right, no Aj Brown, no DeVante Smith, and
• 22:50
Speaker 3: that obviously showed up.
• 22:51
Speaker 4: But I thought this was just as much.
• 22:52
Speaker 3: About the defensive performance as it was about the troubles
• 22:56
Speaker 3: on offense for Jalen Hurtson company. I think it says
• 22:58
Speaker 3: something when on a first drive of the game, a
• 23:01
Speaker 3: drive where many offensive coordinators in play callers are scripting
• 23:03
Speaker 3: those first ten to fifteen plays, those openers, and they said,
• 23:07
Speaker 3: you know what, we got a ten play drive. We're
• 23:09
Speaker 3: gonna throw and take it to the air. On nine
• 23:12
Speaker 3: of those plays, okay, nine out of ten they went
• 23:15
Speaker 3: to the air against this Eagles defense right testing whether
• 23:19
Speaker 3: they could actually get after Baker Mayfield and defend Mike Evans,
• 23:22
Speaker 3: Chris Godwin, Trey Palmer and company on the outside. And
• 23:26
Speaker 3: the answer was no, they could not. Baker Mayfield with
• 23:30
Speaker 3: a lead, threw the ball thirty three times in the
• 23:34
Speaker 3: first half, thirty three and you know, like he was
• 23:39
Speaker 3: on right. He was on fire in this game. He
• 23:41
Speaker 3: made some terrific throw some tight windows.
• 23:43
  Speaker 4: Shot.
• 23:43
Speaker 3: That one right there to Palmer was incredible, and Slay
• 23:46
Speaker 3: actually had pretty good coverage.
• 23:47
Speaker 4: There, not much he could do. It was just too good.
• 23:50
Speaker 4: But I just think this defense is not good enough yet.
• 23:52
Speaker 3: In the pass game of surprise, they couldn't get after
• 23:54
Speaker 3: the passer as much, and they played more snaps of
• 23:57
Speaker 3: cover one right some man c single high safety than
• 24:01
Speaker 3: anybody in the league this year or this week, and
• 24:05
Speaker 3: it just it wasn't working against this Buccaneers offense, and
• 24:09
Speaker 3: I thought Liam Cohen had a great plan, recognized where
• 24:11
Speaker 3: they thought they could get and find some success.
• 24:14
Speaker 4: And obviously Bucky they did there.
• 24:17
  Speaker 2: Yeah they did.
• 24:17
Speaker 5: And you know it's funny because there was a conversation
• 24:20
Speaker 5: about Baker Mayfield coming into building and you know, a
• 24:23
Speaker 5: little more relaxed vibe than a high, strong vibe that
• 24:26
Speaker 5: existed under Tom Brady.
• 24:28
Speaker 2: So Tom Brady took a little shot, had a little
• 24:30
Speaker 2: fun with it. But I would say this.
• 24:32
Speaker 5: I will say that Baker Mayfield is a perfect fit
• 24:34
Speaker 5: for who the Tampa Bay Buccaneers needed at quarterback right now.
• 24:39
Speaker 5: And that vibe that he has, that connection that he
• 24:42
Speaker 5: has with his teammates. When you've been to Tampa and
• 24:45
Speaker 5: you talk to the players, they love him, they revere him,
• 24:48
Speaker 5: but they also have taken on some of the good
• 24:51
Speaker 5: parts of his personality. The Baker Mayfield they watched at
• 24:54
Speaker 5: Oklahoma that was super competitive, super confident, almost borderline cocky.
• 24:58
Speaker 2: They have a little bit of that belief.
• 25:00
Speaker 5: And with the offense feeling like that and Todd Bulls
• 25:04
Speaker 5: just ringing heat from everywhere, consistently crafting these defensive masterpieces,
• 25:10
Speaker 5: the Buccaneers are legit and we hadn't talked about him
• 25:13
Speaker 5: a lot, even though they had won a division a
• 25:14
Speaker 5: year ago. But the Buccant is legit. They have tough
• 25:17
Speaker 5: out and they gonna be a problem for a lot
• 25:18
Speaker 5: of teams in the NFC.
• 25:21
Speaker 1: I'll give Jason light a lot of credit, man, because
• 25:23
Speaker 1: you go from kind of the Jameis Winston who has
• 25:25
Speaker 1: some initial success and then it you know, it doesn't
• 25:28
Speaker 1: end up working out there, and so he does the
• 25:31
Speaker 1: all hands on deck, rely on your previous relationships, and
• 25:34
Speaker 1: he recruits Tom Brady when everybody wanted Tom Brady and
• 25:37
Speaker 1: he gets a super Bowl out of it, and then
• 25:39
Speaker 1: you're thinking, okay, well now tom Brady's gone. You know
• 25:42
Speaker 1: what's the next move? And is this going to be
• 25:43
Speaker 1: a team that, because they've been in the playoffs, is
• 25:46
Speaker 1: not going to get a chance to pick high to
• 25:47
Speaker 1: get a quarterback. That's challenging, man. When you don't have
• 25:50
Speaker 1: an opportunity to draft one high and you lose a
• 25:53
Speaker 1: Hall of Fame, greatest of all time quarterback, how do
• 25:55
Speaker 1: you go about replacing him? And I don't know if
• 25:58
Speaker 1: anybody could make a case they could have found it
• 26:00
Speaker 1: better replacement than Baker Mayfield. You know, Buck, I saw
• 26:02
Speaker 1: Brady's comments the other day. I found that interesting from
• 26:05
  Speaker 1: the game.
• 26:06
  Speaker 2: But it's true.
• 26:07
Speaker 1: I mean, Baker Mayfield I think was the right quarterback
• 26:09
Speaker 1: at the right time for this franchise. And this is
• 26:12
Speaker 1: a team that's been in the playoffs four straight years
• 26:14
Speaker 1: and very much looks like a playoff team going on
• 26:16
Speaker 1: five years in a row here. So hats off to
• 26:20
Speaker 1: Jason Lytton's job. He's done, and I'll give him a credit.
• 26:22
Speaker 1: Another pick to a guy that we really liked. Bucky
• 26:25
Speaker 1: Irving's fun to watch man. He is so quick in
• 26:27
Speaker 1: and out. His change of direction is excellent. He's got
• 26:30
Speaker 1: great vision. Another one of those examples of God Lee,
• 26:33
Speaker 1: I just stick with your initial grade. When I first
• 26:36
Speaker 1: did my first you know, ranking and stacking the running backs,
• 26:40
Speaker 1: he was way up there as one of the top
• 26:42
Speaker 1: backs in this draft. And he's not the biggest guy
• 26:44
Speaker 1: in the world, but Buck was. I get so mad
• 26:46
Speaker 1: at myself, Dude, Just have some guts, have some courage,
• 26:49
Speaker 1: and stick with what you saw on the tape because
• 26:51
Speaker 1: I love what I saw from him in college.
• 26:53
Speaker 3: You know, it's another one, real quick go ahead, Yeah,
• 26:56
Speaker 3: another one real quick on the draft picks, yeah ya, dab.
• 27:00
Speaker 4: I mean you want to talk a big physical ame.
• 27:04
Speaker 3: Six pressures in this in this game to lead all
• 27:07
Speaker 3: all rushers for either team.
• 27:09
Speaker 4: He's been a stud on that defense.
• 27:11
Speaker 3: They've made they've hit on some the some defenders now
• 27:14
Speaker 3: in the last couple of drafts and uh and that's
• 27:16
Speaker 3: a big reason why they're so good on that side
• 27:18
  Speaker 3: of the wall.
• 27:18
Speaker 1: What do you think, Buck? I want to get one
• 27:21
Speaker 1: last thought from you, then we'll move on. Keep the
• 27:23
Speaker 1: train moving here. But has there ever been a transaction
• 27:26
Speaker 1: of players even though it wasn't a direct transaction? But
• 27:29
Speaker 1: you have Hassan Reddick who who ends up going to
• 27:33
Speaker 1: the Jets who you know that that trade habens. He
• 27:35
  Speaker 1: doesn't show up, they can't get a deal done. He's
• 27:37
Speaker 1: obviously giving you nothing. Bryce huff signs as a free
• 27:40
Speaker 1: agent with the Eagles, has done nothing like two guys
• 27:45
Speaker 1: who had so much success in the previous spot and
• 27:48
Speaker 1: have found you got nothing either one of them.
• 27:51
Speaker 2: No little buyer's are more on both parties.
• 27:53
Speaker 5: And look, man, it's a great lesson to be learned
• 27:56
Speaker 5: in free agency. A lot of times we think that oh,
• 27:59
Speaker 5: not only as players the grass is greener, but on
• 28:01
Speaker 5: the other side, you think you can pluck somebody off
• 28:03
Speaker 5: another roster and put him in your environment and he's
• 28:05
Speaker 5: going to be the same player, and it doesn't work
• 28:08
Speaker 5: like that. That's why you hear so many general managers
• 28:10
Speaker 5: always talk about draft and develop and resign your own,
• 28:14
Speaker 5: because at least you rear them in your process, in
• 28:17
Speaker 5: your culture, and you know exactly who they are. You
• 28:19
Speaker 5: understand the warts and the flaws and how to work
• 28:22
Speaker 5: around them. When you take somebody else's, I would say problems,
• 28:26
Speaker 5: you don't know if you necessarily can fit it fix it,
• 28:29
Speaker 5: and you also don't know how they going to fit
• 28:30
Speaker 5: into your locker room or your scheme. Far more subjective
• 28:33
Speaker 5: when you do the free agent route as opposed to drafting, development,
• 28:37
Speaker 5: and then resigning them.
• 28:39
Speaker 1: Yeah, no question, that's a great lesson. Indeed, let's get
• 28:42
Speaker 1: to the next game here in New Orleans Atlanta. I want
• 28:45
Speaker 1: to get to the Atlanta side of things here, and
• 28:46
Speaker 1: I want to hit on one specific player. I'm pulling
• 28:48
Speaker 1: up my notes on him. Troy Anderson, linebacker for the
• 28:51
Speaker 1: Falcons in this game a nice win for the Falcons,
• 28:55
Speaker 1: has seventeen tackles. He's literally all over the field. You
• 28:58
Speaker 1: see him run down, Alvin Kamara repeatedly range to the
• 29:01
Speaker 1: sideline closing speed. So I'm like, let me go back
• 29:04
Speaker 1: and find my notes on him. So it's coming out
• 29:07
Speaker 1: of Montana State. He was six three and a half
• 29:10
Speaker 1: two hundred and forty three pounds. He ran four to
• 29:11
Speaker 1: four to two. He was originally a quarterback, then a
• 29:14
Speaker 1: running back, then an outside linebacker before becoming an inside
• 29:17
Speaker 1: linebacker there at Montana State. Pulverizes blockers speed of the
• 29:21
Speaker 1: alley big time AA so agility and change the direction
• 29:27
Speaker 1: to cover lots of PBUs. He gets a little bit
• 29:30
Speaker 1: high and we'll get washed at times down inside, but
• 29:33
Speaker 1: he's he's somebody with tremendous athletic ability and instincts. Former quarterback.
• 29:37
Speaker 1: What man, that was a heck of a game for him.
• 29:39
Speaker 1: I mean that you talk about buck. We always look
• 29:41
Speaker 1: for guys that can run, cover and hit in blitz
• 29:45
  Speaker 1: as linebackers. I mean, that's the that's what you're looking
• 29:47
Speaker 1: for at the linebacker position. That's how you deal with
• 29:49
Speaker 1: guys like Alvin Kamara.
• 29:52
  Speaker 2: Absolutely.
• 29:52
Speaker 5: Man, You just talk about what this team has done
• 29:54
Speaker 5: is funny because the Atlanta Falcons are look, I mean
• 29:58
Speaker 5: some some red zone flow away from being three and one.
• 30:01
Speaker 5: I mean, they're a team that has kind of put
• 30:03
Speaker 5: themselves in a really, really good position. And when we
• 30:06
Speaker 5: think about this defense where Raheem Morris and Jimmy Lake,
• 30:10
Speaker 5: how they've been able to kind of do it, and
• 30:12
Speaker 5: how they've been able to do it while also folding
• 30:14
Speaker 5: in some hot IQ veterans. You think about Jesse Bates,
• 30:17
Speaker 5: you think about Justin Simmons, Matthew Judon coming over.
• 30:22
Speaker 2: They're on their way.
• 30:23
Speaker 5: And the good thing if I am Atlanta Falcons fan,
• 30:26
Speaker 5: they've been able to do it with their offense not
• 30:28
Speaker 5: clicking on all cylna's yet, you would think that Kirk
• 30:31
Speaker 5: Cousins is going to get healthy. He's going to find
• 30:35
Speaker 5: his way to get you know, with cale Pits and others,
• 30:39
Speaker 5: and when that part of the ball takes off, if
• 30:41
Speaker 5: the defense can maintain his course. The NFC is very
• 30:44
Speaker 5: competitive with a lot of unheroded teams, but the Elant
• 30:47
Speaker 5: of five is another team in that conversation.
• 30:50
Speaker 3: Nice, when was the last time you saw a team
• 30:54
Speaker 3: win a football game without running a single play in
• 30:58
Speaker 3: the red Zonelkens did not run to play, They did
• 31:03
Speaker 3: not run a play in the red zone.
• 31:06
Speaker 4: They had a special.
• 31:07
Speaker 3: Teams touchdown on a muff punt that kind of started
• 31:09
Speaker 3: things off. Well, they had the defensive touchdowns youre talking
• 31:11
  Speaker 3: about with Andrew.
• 31:12
Speaker 4: I mean like I kept looking at that. I was like,
• 31:15
  Speaker 4: I got something's wrong here.
• 31:16
  Speaker 2: Let me go.
• 31:17
Speaker 3: I was watching, we were watching this game following along
• 31:19
Speaker 3: on game day wide.
• 31:21
  Speaker 4: I just I couldn't believe it.
• 31:23
Speaker 3: But this was This is about how the one hundred
• 31:25
Speaker 3: and eleventh meeting between two bitter division rivals was.
• 31:29
Speaker 4: Going to go, and it was going to be tight
• 31:30
Speaker 4: down to the end.
• 31:31
Speaker 3: And now the Falcons own a fifty six to fifty
• 31:34
Speaker 3: five series advantage over the New Orleans Saints. But I
• 31:39
Speaker 3: do want to give some positives for the Saints here.
• 31:41
Speaker 3: Alante Taylor has become one of the one of the
• 31:45
Speaker 3: better and more physical nickel players in the league. He
• 31:50
Speaker 3: remember those three sacks he had in the first week
• 31:52
Speaker 3: against the Carolina Panthers, where you're like, all right, you
• 31:56
Speaker 3: let the nickel guy get you three times, and you're
• 31:58
Speaker 3: not not seeing it right, You're not accounting for it.
• 32:01
Speaker 4: Might just be he's also really dang good.
• 32:04
Speaker 3: Because I watched him in coverage a couple of times
• 32:06
Speaker 3: against Drake London in this game, held up really well
• 32:08
Speaker 3: and then like he's just he stays alive in the
• 32:11
Speaker 3: play for so long. I mean London has a surefire catch.
• 32:15
Speaker 3: I mean at borderline it was a catch fumble. He
• 32:17
Speaker 3: comes in there and swipes and rakes at that football,
• 32:19
Speaker 3: knocks it out a couple of different times. He was
• 32:22
Speaker 3: about an inch away on his vertical from having another
• 32:25
Speaker 3: terrific PBu. He's just, he's been really good for them
• 32:30
Speaker 3: and he's a guy that they can build with.
• 32:32
  Speaker 1: Over there.
• 32:32
Speaker 3: Paulson Deebo played pretty well too, So they got a
• 32:35
Speaker 3: couple of good young corners out there.
• 32:36
Speaker 4: Not to mention, you know, Marshall Latimore.
• 32:38
Speaker 1: I just pulled up my notes on Alante Taylor, who
• 32:41
Speaker 1: alerted me that he was going to hit on him.
• 32:43
Speaker 1: So just over six foot, one hundred and nine nine pounds,
• 32:46
Speaker 1: four to three six what he ran. He had the
• 32:48
Speaker 1: fastest GPS at the Senior Bowl. Two interceptions that last year.
• 32:52
Speaker 1: He's a little tight in the change of direction stuff,
• 32:54
Speaker 1: but really instinctive in zone. He was very aggressive and
• 32:57
Speaker 1: tough to fill against the run. Had someations versus double
• 33:01
Speaker 1: moves in the Old Miss game. That was the only
• 33:03
Speaker 1: that was the only bugaboo there. But at the at
• 33:05
Speaker 1: the foundation and core of a player, you have you
• 33:08
Speaker 1: have tremendous speed, you have tremendous toughness, and that's uh,
• 33:11
Speaker 1: that's something you can work with. And they've found a
• 33:13
Speaker 1: way to feature those attributes in a big way. Buck. Yeah,
• 33:16
  Speaker 1: I just.
• 33:17
Speaker 2: Remember when he was coming out.
• 33:18
Speaker 5: I just remember him being like the versal guy that
• 33:20
Speaker 5: people talked about, right, you couldn't figure out.
• 33:21
Speaker 2: As he's safety nickel like.
• 33:25
Speaker 5: And we are now in a league full of specialists
• 33:28
Speaker 5: and in the secondary, I just see the evolution where
• 33:31
Speaker 5: we used to talk about the little guy being the nickel,
• 33:34
Speaker 5: then it became a we got big nickels whatever. And
• 33:37
Speaker 5: now the position has been where people that are playing
• 33:39
Speaker 5: the star position in college are basically scouted and evaluated
• 33:43
Speaker 5: to play the star position in the pros Alante. Taylor's versatility,
• 33:48
Speaker 5: its size, its toughness, his speed was always coveted. But
• 33:53
Speaker 5: we are now in an era where they are really
• 33:55
Speaker 5: featuring those guys that have those traits and so it's
• 33:58
Speaker 5: really good to see.
• 34:00
Speaker 1: I want to do a speed round here on the
• 34:02
Speaker 1: rookie QBS. So I'm gonna give you, I'll give you
• 34:05
Speaker 1: my three thoughts on or a thought on each of
• 34:08
Speaker 1: these guys here, these rooky quarterbacks. Buck followed up, RHTT
• 34:12
Speaker 1: follow up, follow up Bucky here. But I'll start first
• 34:14
Speaker 1: of all, Jayden Daniels. Awesome. Once again, the game is
• 34:17
Speaker 1: slow for him. One of the visual that I had
• 34:21
Speaker 1: for him was, and Buck, We've talked about this before,
• 34:24
Speaker 1: is when you're a kid and you go into the
• 34:26
Speaker 1: gym and you're taught as a basketball player. Hey, as
• 34:29
Speaker 1: a young player, start right underneath the rim. I'm gonna
• 34:32
Speaker 1: see ten go through. I'm gonna back up three steps.
• 34:34
Speaker 1: I'm gonna see ten go through. I'm gonna eventually get
• 34:36
Speaker 1: back to the free throw line that I'm gonna eventually
• 34:38
Speaker 1: get back to the three point line. But I think
• 34:40
Speaker 1: Cliff Kingsbury does a wonderful job of let him see
• 34:43
Speaker 1: some go through the hoop, get into a rhythm. The
• 34:45
Speaker 1: game slowed down for him, and then the degree of
• 34:47
Speaker 1: difficulty just goes up from there. But he's he is
• 34:50
Speaker 1: so poised and so calm and so accurate. It's elite
• 34:54
Speaker 1: stuff what you're seeing there from Jayden Daniels. Let's get
• 34:57
Speaker 1: the Caleb Williams. Caleb Williams again strides you're seeing strides
• 35:01
Speaker 1: every week. They gave him some screens. They gave him
• 35:04
Speaker 1: some easy completions in this game, which was good to see.
• 35:07
Speaker 1: There are some balls he missed down the field, one
• 35:09
Speaker 1: of which I didn't think DJ Moore was really busting it,
• 35:11
Speaker 1: So I give him a little bit of defense there.
• 35:14
Speaker 1: Still hold the ball at times, but then also was
• 35:18
Speaker 1: able to extend and create. And then you're seeing again
• 35:21
Speaker 1: these handful He's giving you four or five plays every
• 35:24
Speaker 1: week where you go, okay, I can hang my hat
• 35:26
Speaker 1: on this. This is the good stuff and he's giving
• 35:28
Speaker 1: you that. So that's a great sign, and that's normal.
• 35:31
Speaker 1: That's the normal path for a young quarterback. What Jayden
• 35:33
Speaker 1: Daniels is doing right now is kind of like what CJ.
• 35:36
Speaker 1: Stroud was doing last year. That's abnormal to have it
• 35:38
Speaker 1: click this fast. I do think they should use Caleb
• 35:41
Speaker 1: Williams on more design runs. You only have three carries
• 35:44
Speaker 1: and two kneel downs in this game. I think they
• 35:45
Speaker 1: can do more of that. And then finally, Bo Nicks,
• 35:48
Speaker 1: the guy found a way to win a game he
• 35:49
Speaker 1: played in the monsoon. Darn Near had to throw the
• 35:51
Speaker 1: ball at two hands at times. They couldn't really do anything.
• 35:55
Speaker 1: But when they needed to, they got him on the move,
• 35:57
Speaker 1: he hit a ball and then the Jets busted a coverage.
• 36:00
Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know what else to say there
• 36:02
Speaker 1: other than he hung in there in a monsoon and
• 36:05
Speaker 1: Buck found a way to win a game with sixty yards.
• 36:09
Speaker 1: So those are my thoughts on the three qbs. I'll
• 36:11
Speaker 1: let you guys give me what you think.
• 36:13
Speaker 5: Okay, So let's go with Jaden Daniels. And I don't
• 36:16
Speaker 5: want to say like for the second ye in a row,
• 36:17
Speaker 5: but for the second ue in a row. QB two
• 36:20
Speaker 5: has been masterful early in their career, and what was
• 36:24
Speaker 5: in from Jaden Daniels is franchise changing in terms of
• 36:29
Speaker 5: not just what we're seeing on the field, but how
• 36:31
Speaker 5: his teammates respond to him. When you hear the words
• 36:34
  Speaker 5: about he's different, he's special, he's like the savior. He's
• 36:38
Speaker 5: this you already know in the locker room. There's a
• 36:41
Speaker 5: belief in their franchise quarterback that if you just give
• 36:44
Speaker 5: him the ball back, he can find a way to
• 36:46
Speaker 5: get it done. And we've talked about experience and how
• 36:50
Speaker 5: experience matters and how the fifty four fifty five stars
• 36:52
Speaker 5: that he had at college, the game would slow down,
• 36:54
Speaker 5: and we talked about VR and those things before a
• 36:57
Speaker 5: young player to be so comfortable at the next level,
• 37:02
Speaker 5: you know, where the game is supposed to be harder.
• 37:04
Speaker 5: But yeah, this dude is completing eighty percent of his
• 37:06
Speaker 5: passes in games and just getting better and better. He's
• 37:10
Speaker 5: something else, man, And it just goes to show you
• 37:12
Speaker 5: that as a scout, when you started tracking guys at freshmen,
• 37:17
Speaker 5: you got to give them grace because they certainly can't improve.
• 37:20
Speaker 2: When you think about what he was as a.
• 37:22
Speaker 5: Freshman at Arizona State to how he finished at LSU
• 37:25
Speaker 5: to how he's playing now, there's just this arc of
• 37:28
Speaker 5: improvement that suggested they don't have to be finished products
• 37:31
Speaker 5: when you first look at them.
• 37:33
Speaker 2: Give them time and in the right system, with the.
• 37:34
Speaker 5: Right play call it, they could be as good as
• 37:37
Speaker 5: you want them to be if all the pieces of
• 37:39
Speaker 5: the polls will fit.
• 37:41
Speaker 3: I think you nailed it on Jayden Daniels. The only
• 37:42
Speaker 3: thing I would say is he's bringing out the best
• 37:44
Speaker 3: in his best players like Terry McLaurin is once again
• 37:47
Speaker 3: a part of this offense after virtually disappearing a year ago,
• 37:50
Speaker 3: which is great to see for the commanders and for Bonnicks.
• 37:53
Speaker 3: I remember looking up one time and I think he
• 37:55
Speaker 3: was seven for fourteen with minus seven passing yards.
• 37:57
  Speaker 4: I don't know, I don't know.
• 38:01
Speaker 3: I don't know how it even happens other than the
• 38:03
Speaker 3: weather and the conditions, and so I don't even know
• 38:05
Speaker 3: how much we can really take out of that game.
• 38:07
Speaker 1: Whether you guys seen the movie Necessary Roughness, Necessary Roughness. Yeah,
• 38:11
Speaker 1: they're playing in them monsoon. That was the game. They
• 38:14
Speaker 1: needed Kathy Ireland out there and kicked the game.
• 38:17
Speaker 4: Well, the Jets did. They could have used.
• 38:22
Speaker 1: Kathy Ireland might have had a better shot at that
• 38:24
Speaker 1: one that did not go well, no question.
• 38:28
  Speaker 4: Yeah.
• 38:28
Speaker 3: And then on Caleb man Lo again, you're right, like
• 38:31
Speaker 3: he gives you the glimpses right the throw to DJ
• 38:33
Speaker 3: more in the back of the end zone, like that's
• 38:35
Speaker 3: you know, that's special stuff there.
• 38:36
Speaker 4: I I do feel like he is holding the ball
• 38:39
  Speaker 4: a little bit.
• 38:39
Speaker 3: They need to get they need to kind of engineer
• 38:41
Speaker 3: a little bit more, uh you know, ways for him
• 38:44
  Speaker 3: to get rid.
• 38:44
Speaker 4: Of it quickly. See it, hit it, let's go, and
• 38:47
Speaker 4: let's and let's move on. Last thing.
• 38:49
Speaker 3: I'll just add on the on the commanders who are
• 38:51
Speaker 3: playing some really good football right now. I believe all
• 38:53
Speaker 3: alone in the first place of the NFC East at
• 38:55
Speaker 3: three and one. Dan Quinn deserves some serious credit for
• 38:59
Speaker 3: what he's doing There'll so brought over two guys he
• 39:01
Speaker 3: knew very well that could help him run his defense,
• 39:03
Speaker 3: and Bobby Wagner at eleven tackles in this game, and
• 39:06
Speaker 3: Dorence Armstrong they were together with at the Cowboys. He
• 39:09
Speaker 3: had a sack and a half in this game. And
• 39:12
Speaker 3: so that defense is playing really good too, and they
• 39:15
Speaker 3: definitely took care of business against Kyler Murray and the Cardinals.
• 39:18
Speaker 1: Last thought on those three rooky quarterbacks the teams they're
• 39:21
Speaker 1: playing for. I was worried about Adam Peters in Washington
• 39:25
Speaker 1: in terms of the offensive line they were going to
• 39:27
Speaker 1: have in front of Jaden Daniels. I thought maybe they
• 39:29
Speaker 1: could have traded back in to the first round to
• 39:31
Speaker 1: get one of those tackles. They held their water. They
• 39:34
Speaker 1: picked Brandon Coleman later, and Brandon Coleman is playing better
• 39:37
Speaker 1: out of TCU than some of these guys who were
• 39:39
Speaker 1: picked in the first round. So hat tip to our
• 39:41
Speaker 1: buddy Adam Peters with the job he did not only
• 39:44
Speaker 1: nail on the quarterback, but doing a good job of
• 39:46
Speaker 1: kind of under the radar build an offensive line that's
• 39:49
Speaker 1: better than it looked on paper. So hats off to
• 39:51
Speaker 1: Adam Peters. All right, it's time to get the Bucks
• 39:59
Speaker 1: game here. Say it. As we get towards the back
• 40:02
Speaker 1: end of the show, we wanted to keep things positive
• 40:03
Speaker 1: as we could. I felt slanted a little negative today,
• 40:06
Speaker 1: but you know, nonetheless, let's uh, let's jump into it.
• 40:09
Speaker 1: I give you the opportunity. You could have gone positive negative,
• 40:11
  Speaker 1: you a negative earlier. That's all I'm saying. Right, don't
• 40:13
Speaker 1: give me that look before we get to uh, the
• 40:16
Speaker 1: result here and we'll discuss a big win for the
• 40:19
Speaker 1: Houston Texans. Buck. I want to get your thoughts on it,
• 40:22
Speaker 1: but I want to hear from the head coach of
• 40:24
Speaker 1: the Jags before we get to you that. I'll let
• 40:26
Speaker 1: you pick it up from there. But this is the
• 40:28
Speaker 1: postgame with Doug Peterson after the Jags lost twenty four
• 40:30
  Speaker 1: to twenty.
• 40:32
Speaker 6: For what I thought he'd called a great game. We
• 40:37
Speaker 6: as coaches, we can't make the We can't go out
• 40:39
Speaker 6: there and make the plays.
• 40:40
  Speaker 5: Right.
• 40:40
Speaker 6: It's a two way street. So you know, you guys
• 40:43
Speaker 6: can sit here and point the finger all you want,
• 40:45
Speaker 6: and that's fine. Point it right at me. I can
• 40:47
Speaker 6: take it. Okay, I can take it. So whatever you
• 40:52
Speaker 6: want to ask me, say whatever, right, go ahead.
• 40:59
  Speaker 2: Uh, here's what I say.
• 41:01
Speaker 5: It's no only not good when you begin to wage
• 41:03
Speaker 5: wars with the media, the local media. That there has
• 41:07
Speaker 5: been this conversation, which I do believe in Jacksonville is
• 41:11
Speaker 5: a little premature. It's a little crazy to talk about
• 41:15
Speaker 5: Doug Peterson being on the hot seat after four games.
• 41:18
Speaker 5: The franchise hasn't had back to back winning season since
• 41:20
Speaker 5: two thousand and four two thousand and five. He's had
• 41:23
Speaker 5: back to back winning seasons in his first two years
• 41:26
  Speaker 5: on the job.
• 41:27
Speaker 2: Yes, they are one to nine in their last ten games.
• 41:29
Speaker 5: Yes, the collapse of last season and the slow start
• 41:32
Speaker 5: this season does make you uneasy when you think about that.
• 41:36
Speaker 5: But I think you want to have a broader perspective
• 41:39
Speaker 5: before you start making those kinds of decisions. That said,
• 41:42
Speaker 5: I think it's really important that when the team is struggling,
• 41:45
Speaker 5: the coach has to be uber positive when it comes
• 41:48
Speaker 5: to his interactions with the team, how he protects the
• 41:51
Speaker 5: team with the media and those things, and even though
• 41:54
  Speaker 5: we all can say that it's a player's game, it's
• 41:57
Speaker 5: a players league, and that you know.
• 41:58
Speaker 2: Players have to make play.
• 42:00
Speaker 5: You run the risk of losing your team if you
• 42:03
Speaker 5: come to throw them under the bus in that regard
• 42:06
Speaker 5: and they don't understand the context behind it. And so hopefully,
• 42:10
Speaker 5: for Doug's sake, he can clean and clear some of
• 42:13
Speaker 5: that up in team meetings, because the last thing you
• 42:15
Speaker 5: want is everyone pointing fingers and the players being done
• 42:20
Speaker 5: with the coach, because once they're done with the coach,
• 42:23
Speaker 5: there's no getting that back, and then you have to
• 42:25
Speaker 5: make moves to help rectify the situation.
• 42:28
  Speaker 2: Even though I don't believe it's.
• 42:29
Speaker 5: Completely lost, I think it's tenuous, just because of the
• 42:32
Speaker 5: way he may have handled himself in this postgame pressing.
• 42:36
Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm gonna choose to go positive, and.
• 42:45
Speaker 1: Is that regular Tony Robbins over here.
• 42:47
Speaker 3: I tell you this is not that's not your I
• 42:50
Speaker 3: don't buy into the negative. I don't buy into the negativity. Okay,
• 42:55
Speaker 3: our friends at duvall are going.
• 42:56
Speaker 4: To figure this thing out.
• 42:57
Speaker 3: It's just it's just it's troubling when you got to
• 42:59
Speaker 3: deal with the tech, you know, and you're on the
• 43:01
Speaker 3: verge of going zero and four because I thought C J.
• 43:03
Speaker 4: Stroud and in Houston, while.
• 43:05
Speaker 3: We weren't at their best, you know, on this day,
• 43:07
Speaker 3: and the Jags played, you know, I think better than
• 43:10
Speaker 3: we've seen them play.
• 43:11
  Speaker 2: But C. J.
• 43:12
Speaker 3: Stroud continues to give you what you need in the
• 43:15
Speaker 3: biggest moments and a nine play sixty four yard touchdown drive,
• 43:18
Speaker 3: you know, playing without Tank Dell, I think makes the
• 43:20
Speaker 3: acquisition to Stefan Diggs. You know, that that much bigger
• 43:23
Speaker 3: rancause they've got depth now at that wide receiver spot.
• 43:27
Speaker 3: And so you know, dari A Goomba walle catches the
• 43:30
  Speaker 3: game winner.
• 43:31
  Speaker 2: There we go.
• 43:32
Speaker 3: You know, I mean it must work. You got dev
• 43:35
Speaker 3: you got ways to figure it out, you know. And
• 43:37
Speaker 3: I think they'll get Joe Mixon back here pretty soon,
• 43:39
Speaker 3: start getting that ground game rolling a little bit more.
• 43:41
Speaker 3: But Texan's got it done when they needed to and
• 43:44
Speaker 3: sitting there at the top of the division three to one.
• 43:46
Speaker 1: I'll give you two positives on the Texan side. Nico Collins,
• 43:50
Speaker 1: he will work in traffic. He has he plays with
• 43:52
Speaker 1: no fear. There's something that's nice as a quarterback when
• 43:56
Speaker 1: you have a receiver who can work in the middle
• 43:57
Speaker 1: of the field and win and not least win, but
• 44:01
Speaker 1: just just oh yeah. But he just plays with no fear.
• 44:03
Speaker 1: He'll go, he'll run through contact zones. He doesn't gear down,
• 44:07
Speaker 1: he doesn't corral the ball with his body embrace like
• 44:10
Speaker 1: he runs through the ball. He's just a really, really
• 44:13
Speaker 1: good football player. So that was the positive on the
• 44:16
Speaker 1: Houston side of things. And then I'll give you the
• 44:18
Speaker 1: one positive on the Jag side of things.
• 44:19
  Speaker 2: Buck.
• 44:20
Speaker 1: I watched Brian Thomas Junior all his routes. Dude, he's
• 44:23
Speaker 1: legit like that. That is he is real. Like when
• 44:26
Speaker 1: you watch him, he is sudden, he's explosive, he can
• 44:29
Speaker 1: get in and out of breaks. He's not just a
• 44:31
Speaker 1: vertical receiver. He is he looks like he can be
• 44:33
Speaker 1: a young one, like he's got that type of ability.
• 44:36
Speaker 1: But that's the positive. Negative thing is Trevor's missing too
• 44:39
Speaker 1: many throws. Like you can look at it and say, like, oh,
• 44:42
Speaker 1: anticipation or is he seeing things. I'm like, man, he
• 44:44
Speaker 1: just missing like he just missing throws. That's got a change, Yeah,
• 44:48
Speaker 1: it's got to change.
• 44:49
Speaker 5: And here's the thing that I was unfortunate for the
• 44:52
Speaker 5: Jags because it took away from what I thought was
• 44:54
Speaker 5: a really good game plan to help with a team
• 44:56
Speaker 5: that was struggling get back on track. There were things
• 44:59
Speaker 5: that the j Wars did that were designed to help
• 45:03
Speaker 5: this team get up and going. Number one thing they
• 45:05
Speaker 5: did is they played the hits. Whenever you have a
• 45:07
Speaker 5: young quarterback struggling, you try to give them things that
• 45:10
Speaker 5: he's very comfortable with that he executes really well and
• 45:13
Speaker 5: have success. For Trevor Lawrence, that's screens, quick game, occasional
• 45:18
Speaker 5: shots he's really good on that got off to a
• 45:20
Speaker 5: fast start. The other thing that you do is feed
• 45:23
Speaker 5: the pigs. So when you're struggling, you're trying and get
• 45:26
Speaker 5: the ball to your best players. When you go back
• 45:28
Speaker 5: and you look at the hitch sheet, Christian Kirk had
• 45:31
Speaker 5: twelve targets, Brian Thomas Junior had nine targets.
• 45:34
Speaker 2: Everybody else had three or fewer.
• 45:36
Speaker 5: And so in a game when you're trying to win
• 45:38
Speaker 5: and you're trying to go all in, don't mess around.
• 45:40
Speaker 5: Get it to your best players. And I say that
• 45:42
Speaker 5: to back up your point about Brian Thomas Junior. I
• 45:45
Speaker 5: don't even think people know how good this young guy
• 45:47
Speaker 5: is man his route running.
• 45:49
Speaker 2: Ability, his playmaking, ability.
• 45:50
Speaker 5: If you have a chance to watch the reverse that
• 45:52
Speaker 5: he ran, it's not only how smooth and fluid he is,
• 45:55
Speaker 5: it's just the innate instincts and reactions that he has
• 45:59
Speaker 5: with the ball in his hands. He is a number
• 46:01
Speaker 5: one all day, every day. And as excited as people
• 46:06
Speaker 5: should be about Mylak neighbors man, Brian Thomas, you won.
• 46:10
  Speaker 5: I can't imagine guarding l s U when they had
• 46:12
Speaker 5: both of those guys on the field. I don't know
• 46:14
Speaker 5: why we didn't win more games like it is banana
• 46:17
Speaker 5: is the thing that you by the way, By the way,
• 46:18
Speaker 5: the quarterback, the quarterback.
• 46:20
Speaker 1: The quarterback wasn't bad either.
• 46:21
Speaker 2: I mean, I just I don't know. It just seems like.
• 46:26
Speaker 1: That he did they not win Antal championship. That defense
• 46:29
Speaker 1: was all time terrible. How bad is your defense? You
• 46:32
Speaker 1: couldn't win with Jade Daniels and Leak Neighbors and Brian
• 46:34
Speaker 1: Thomas Junior. Really, Oh my gosh, that's that should be
• 46:39
Speaker 1: the biggest takeaway from the weekend. All right, let's get
• 46:42
Speaker 1: to a quick a quick nugget from each of you here.
• 46:47
Speaker 1: We've got a fun one to me the best game
• 46:49
Speaker 1: coming up tonight. We've got too with Seahawks Lions. Rhett,
• 46:53
Speaker 1: your lions here, What are you looking for out of them?
• 46:57
  Speaker 2: Yeah?
• 46:57
Speaker 3: I think just you want you want to be physical
• 46:59
Speaker 3: here a game in which you know Mike McDonald's defense
• 47:02
Speaker 3: has been rolling, right, So I think you want to
• 47:04
Speaker 3: find a way to get JAMR Gibbs the football. If
• 47:07
Speaker 3: we want to find a way to you know, run
• 47:09
Speaker 3: it a little bit here and and you know, you're
• 47:11
Speaker 3: you got the benefit of being at home and use
• 47:13
Speaker 3: that crowd, get after the passer.
• 47:15
  Speaker 4: A little bit.
• 47:16
  Speaker 2: Uh.
• 47:16
Speaker 3: You know if you're you're on defense trying to deal
• 47:18
  Speaker 3: with Geno Smith.
• 47:19
Speaker 4: So I just I feel like physicality and and grit.
• 47:23
Speaker 3: Let this be one of those Dan Campbell h kind
• 47:25
Speaker 3: of mindset type games here against the Seahawks.
• 47:28
  Speaker 2: Uh.
• 47:28
Speaker 5: I want to focus on the Seahawks and Mike McDonald
• 47:31
Speaker 5: and how he's taking a tough love approach to a
• 47:34
Speaker 5: team that was really player friendly on the Pete Carroll
• 47:37
Speaker 5: and I would say the old school discipline that he
• 47:39
Speaker 5: is imposed when you hear the players talk about we
• 47:42
Speaker 5: needed a little more of that to give us the
• 47:44
Speaker 5: edge for us to go to the next level.
• 47:46
  Speaker 2: Uh.
• 47:47
Speaker 5: To me, I think it's interesting, it's fascinating when you
• 47:50
Speaker 5: have a young guy that kinds a clear understanding of
• 47:52
Speaker 5: his coaching style, how he wants to implement it, how
• 47:55
Speaker 5: he wants to kind of really impose the discipline so
• 47:59
Speaker 5: the team and have the freedom to really max out
• 48:01
  Speaker 5: their talent.
• 48:02
Speaker 2: It's obviously working when you look.
• 48:04
Speaker 5: At the way the defense has responded, when you look
• 48:05
Speaker 5: at the way Grub has taken this offense to another level,
• 48:08
Speaker 5: and how they still can go to even higher heights
• 48:12
Speaker 5: with Gino Smith pushing the ball down the field. Really
• 48:14
Speaker 5: good team. This is gonna be a fun one to watch.
• 48:16
Speaker 5: Is two playoff teams squaring off. I'm excited to see
• 48:20
Speaker 5: it tonight. Yeah, I think it's a playoff preview.
• 48:23
Speaker 1: I think these are two of the best young secondaries
• 48:24
Speaker 1: in the NFL too, A lot of young talent and
• 48:27
Speaker 1: the secondaries. I'm looking forward to watching those matchups on
• 48:29
Speaker 1: the perimeter in that ball game. We have one more
• 48:31
Speaker 1: game here, Tennessee, Miami Buck. Give me a reason, Just
• 48:37
Speaker 1: give me a reason to watch this thing. What am
• 48:40
Speaker 1: I looking for here? I'm trying to get excited about it.
• 48:42
Speaker 1: I'm struggling. I'm struggling to get excited about this game.
• 48:45
Speaker 1: I'm gonna be honest.
• 48:46
Speaker 5: Okay, so we're gonna dig down to the draft, Nick
• 48:49
Speaker 5: and us. We want to see if will Levis can
• 48:51
Speaker 5: bounce back. We want to see if he can clean
• 48:53
Speaker 5: up his game and make us feel like the Tennessee
• 48:56
Speaker 5: Titans don't need to go back and next year's draft
• 48:58
Speaker 5: and get a quarterback. I want to see if will
• 49:00
Speaker 5: Levis can take care of the ball, if he can
• 49:02
Speaker 5: tap into not only the talent that he flashes, but
• 49:06
Speaker 5: can't he refine his game a little bit.
• 49:08
Speaker 1: So we can get it out that that's not you're
• 49:10
Speaker 1: not making it. You're not making me regular enough game.
• 49:13
Speaker 3: Oh it's not, mao quarterback be dreamy, nao quarterbacks decisions
• 49:20
Speaker 3: he made with great discernment.
• 49:22
Speaker 1: Okay, that's it, you guys suck.
• 49:28
Speaker 3: That was not HN needs one hundred points for me
• 49:30
Speaker 3: to win my fantasy game. So I'll be watching that one.
• 49:33
Speaker 1: Watch it for Ret's fantasy team. That's going to do
• 49:35
Speaker 1: it for us. Everybody, thanks for hanging with us. We'll
• 49:36
Speaker 1: see you next time. Right here on. Move the sticks.
