- 0:49One Life Spirits is built on purpose, culture, good people
- 0:53and good drinks so you can live one life to the fullest.
- 0:56That means shots that are smooth, tasteful, and pair
- 0:59perfectly with a lime. Or our favorite, in orange.
- 1:02Because if you're still chasing tequila with a lime, what are
- 1:05you doing? That orange slice brings out the
- 1:08bright citrus notes of Una Vida Blanco, which is smooth,
- 1:12authentic and tasteful. Like myself.
- 1:15Plus, Una Vida is 100% additive free, so you're enjoying tequila
- 1:19in its purest form without the hangover regret.
- 1:22Yeah, because it takes us three to five business days to recover
- 1:25now, and hang side is not my friend.
- 1:30That's why you should stick with una Vida or try cocktails
- 1:32instead of shots. Okay, a little bit little.
- 1:34One Life Spirits also crafts El Drago High Post vodkas and
- 1:38LeBron whiskey all bold, smooth and made to share.
- 1:41Whether it's game night, date night or just Tuesday night,
- 1:44they've got the pores covered. Because it's not just about
- 1:47taste, but it's about that feeling.
- 1:49And we're proud spirits knobs. So treat yourself.
- 1:53Visit onelifespirits.com, swing by the One Life Spirits bar

- 2:11And welcome back to another episode of Here's to You the
- 2:15podcast, your favorite DIY podcast where we bring cool
- 2:19people to share their cool stories with you.
- 2:21And as always, we are presented by One Life Spirits, Allied
- 2:25Health, Career Training and today it's A and a media where
- 2:29we're chilling on these cool couches.
- 2:32Sitting next to me, as always, is the blue haired Anister
- 2:35McAllister. What's up guys?
- 2:37My hair is falling apart. I had a really cool little thing
- 2:40going and then it's already falling apart.
- 2:41So throughout this episode it's just going to fall and it's fine
- 2:44and everything is fine. But who cares because Cole's
- 2:47hair is beautiful and we have someone really exciting here,
- 2:51this person who just loves the story behind the person than
- 2:54before actually getting to know them and just wanting to
- 2:57understand what shaped them. And he loves bringing people
- 2:59together. He started a run club because he
- 3:02was bored and wanted to find a girlfriend.
- 3:05Who knows if he's found one yet. But mostly because he wants to
- 3:08bring people together. He wants to focus on value 1st
- 3:11and making sure that people feel cared about while they're in the
- 3:14space. And he also loves filmmaking.
- 3:17So cool. Welcome.
- 3:20Thank you for having me. I'm really excited to be here
- 3:22and that was a way better introduction for me than I
- 3:26probably could have ever given myself, so thank you for that.
- 3:28Oh good, good. I'm glad you felt that way.
- 3:30How are you feeling right now? I feel very good.
- 3:34I feel excited. The only ever podcast I've been
- 3:37on was Nelson's podcast, which I also produce.
- 3:40So this is a bit of a different feeling just because it's a new
- 3:44environment, but really excited and eager.
- 3:46Yeah, and because you're not behind the scenes anymore,
- 3:50you're in front of the camera. Yeah, yeah.
- 3:51Watching you guys do all the setup and stuff is like the
- 3:56scene in Interstellar where there's like he's just watching
- 3:58his his past self. Oh, yeah.
- 3:59Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And so it's, it's cool to, to
- 4:02get to see how your guys's processes are and you know, just
- 4:05the different environment in general.
- 4:07Oh, give us pointers. What do you think?
- 4:09What would you have been like? Damn, what was what was that?
- 4:11Why'd you take so long? Or I don't know, give us
- 4:13pointers? Well, to be fair, we were
- 4:15talking kind of behind the scenes over there, me and Alan,
- 4:19and so I really wasn't paying attention too deeply on just the
- 4:22intricacies. Yeah, but I mean, I think it
- 4:24looks cool. This is a really cool set up.
- 4:26I love the color combos. I guess maybe that doesn't have
- 4:29anything to do with you guys 'cause.
- 4:30We were pulling up. So maybe I just gave credit all
- 4:33that has nothing to do with you guys, but they're they're doing
- 4:35all. The cool stuff they're letting.
- 4:37Us, I think it's cool. I like I said, you guys were
- 4:39kind of stressing about the no poll here, but I like this.
- 4:41You like this? Yeah, 'cause it's my cue to
- 4:43talk. Like if I'm not talking then I
- 4:45know I can be like. Yeah.
- 4:46But if I'm talking then it's up here so.
- 4:48You don't want to burp into the mic.
- 4:49Yeah, I don't want like any, you know, unnecessary sniffles or
- 4:54deep breaths that other people can hear while you guys are
- 4:56speaking. So.
- 4:57That's true. Be careful, don't fart because
- 4:59it'll sound when you put it down.
- 5:02I might have to hold it in the air, then I might go like this
- 5:04route. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 5:06You're going to have to put it up.
- 5:07Yeah, yeah. These are good mics, so they're
- 5:09still going to. Pick it up.
- 5:09So that's true. Noted.
- 5:12It's fine. Heard.
- 5:16No, so we started off with a mocktail for you, which I think
- 5:20the ice has melted, so you should try it.
- 5:24We made cola mocktail because I don't know, he's probably doing
- 5:28something. It's New Year's right now, so
- 5:29he's probably like doing the whole dry January.
- 5:32Yeah, I'm, I'm hopping on the train dry January, really just
- 5:36trying to get back into shape. And so when I drink, I I drink a
- 5:40lot typically and I stay up late and I eat fast food and find my
- 5:45way to Renee's late at night or things of that nature.
- 5:48So. Sound like one of us.
- 5:50Yeah, 1. Oh, yeah, yeah, One, I'm here.
- 5:53I'm here for that. One of us.
- 5:54Let me get back in shape 1st and then then we're gonna go.
- 5:57I feel like there's a balance, but I mean, I'm not judging you.
- 6:00You should taste it. Yeah, Let me try it.
- 6:02Oh, actually, let's. Do a cheers though.
- 6:04Yeah, let's do a cheers, OK? We made ours with una Vida
- 6:07'cause we're Alcoholics. Cheers.
- 6:13Cheers, cheers. Cheers.
- 6:15Clink, clink. OK.
- 6:21And. Look it at your face.
- 6:23OK? What do you think?
- 6:25I wish I was drinking so I had unavita, I told you.
- 6:27But it's pretty good. I like the strawberries, the
- 6:31straw. That's the not the not the not
- 6:35the fake tequila. Not the fake tequila.
- 6:36You know, I tried to hide it. I I really did.
- 6:40I was even testing stuff. Now I want you to smell it.
- 6:43Oh God, yeah, the strawberries we're carrying.
- 6:49Bryce, I love you to death. I can't wait to have Una Vida
- 6:52again, I told. You.
- 6:53I told you it's not. It's not it, man.
- 6:56I've like so many people are, which no shade to you guys, like
- 6:59good for you. I think I've learned that
- 7:02technically I can't be drinking on my meds, but I've learned how
- 7:06OK. You can learn how to drink on on
- 7:09your meds. Yeah, yeah.
- 7:10Like the window of which you can take like.
- 7:13What do you mean by that? Well, like I've learned.
- 7:14We're just managing. Managing it, Yeah, managing it.
- 7:18I definitely don't drink like I used to because I can't and it's
- 7:21really bad. But like my, you know, doctors
- 7:23are like you can't drink on the meds, but my therapist said I
- 7:26could because she said realistically it's not going to
- 7:30happen that I'm not going to not drink, you know, because life
- 7:33I'm like, that's why I fucked. With you.
- 7:35So you're taking health advice from the therapist rather than
- 7:38the doctor? Yeah, because, I mean, we're in
- 7:40Western medicine. Come on.
- 7:44Like little already. Like the doctor's here, like for
- 7:47real, you know? You know what I mean?
- 7:49Yeah. Just ask Chajubti or something.
- 7:51Yeah, and, and well, the reason I'm taking the advice from my
- 7:54therapist instead of my doctor is because these are neuromeds.
- 7:58So she knows more, OK, You know. Yeah, yeah, she already, she was
- 8:04like, alright, we're gonna manage these other things and
- 8:07then just make sure that you're not like drinking all your shots
- 8:10like you do. So it's just a little change of
- 8:13behavior with your drinking, yeah.
- 8:15OK. Yeah.
- 8:16I'm here for that. Yeah, I'd like to stop.
- 8:18I'd like to like, I used to be able to do the whole, like for a
- 8:22month or three months and not drink.
- 8:24But then we got this podcast and then we got a sponsor.
- 8:29And every time we try not to drink before Bryce, before
- 8:34Bryce, like we were like, we're not going to drink because there
- 8:38would be people. We always had people who, like,
- 8:39didn't drink. There's so many people who
- 8:41don't. And we were like, all right,
- 8:44we're not going to drink today. And then someone would be like,
- 8:46hey, can I come by and watch the episode while you guys are
- 8:49recording? We're like, yeah, they're like,
- 8:50do we need to bring anything? We're like, yeah, a bottle.
- 8:53So we would always end up drinking.
- 8:56It's so easy to to like negotiate that and then like all
- 8:59those things happen just from being social and just, you know,
- 9:02it's how you would typically. Especially you.
- 9:05It's like, you know, your friends you're used to hanging
- 9:08out with and like, yeah, then you just.
- 9:10Being in an intimate setting like that 100%.
- 9:12Yeah, yeah. Also my intrusive thoughts are
- 9:17taking over withholding these mics.
- 9:19Oh yeah. You know what?
- 9:20Yes, that. Is all I'm thinking.
- 9:31She's been begging me to like, I, I want to sit on couches and
- 9:34get rid of the table that we sit at.
- 9:35And, you know, like, you're going to have to hold them.
- 9:37Like, yeah, I want to do that. All right, let's do it then.
- 9:41Like, OK, stop. That's not what we're here to
- 9:45do. We're not here to put the mics
- 9:46in our mouth. Don't put the mic in your mouth,
- 9:48all right? I will not put the mic in my
- 9:49mouth. OK, good, good, I think.
- 9:51Cole is a professional. I think he knows.
- 9:54I mean, have you never? Put the mic in your mouth once
- 9:56in, you know. Yeah, you put the mic in your
- 9:58mouth before I I haven't. OK, there's the first time for
- 10:02everything. Exactly.
- 10:03You know, who knows when in Rome?
- 10:05Like if you do it, I don't know, it might be like, whoa.
- 10:07And then you might be like I should do it.
- 10:09What is one thing that you have done when in Rome that you
- 10:14didn't think you would do? I don't know.
- 10:20I have one in my head for myself.
- 10:21OK, you go first. OK.
- 10:23A couple of years ago, I was visiting family in the country
- 10:27of Laos. It's a country nestled in
- 10:29between Vietnam and Thailand, If you don't know.
- 10:33My cousin took me to one of his friends restaurant pubs.
- 10:39We're drinking. I went to the bathroom, came
- 10:42back and there's a plate of grilled meat right there.
- 10:44And he's like, you eat that? I was like, it looks like
- 10:46grilled meat to me. What is it?
- 10:47Yeah. I remember this.
- 10:49Like his dog, I got a good buzz egg when in Rome, right?
- 10:55Yeah. Ate a couple pieces of grilled
- 10:57dog meat. Did you like it?
- 10:59It was good, yeah, but I couldn't, like eat more 'cause I
- 11:03was like, I have a, you have, I have a pet dog.
- 11:05The mental block. Yeah, it's the mental block for
- 11:08sure. Yeah, I.
- 11:09Tasted like any other grilled meat though, you know.
- 11:12Fair. I've ate.
- 11:13I rate pigeon, I rate camel, and I rate kangaroo.
- 11:18Where'd you eat kangaroo? Australia, OH.
- 11:21Yeah, how was Camel? I'd like, I mean, I had it as a
- 11:25hamburger. It wasn't like, I don't know.
- 11:29It wasn't really good though. Yeah, I've seen a video of a guy
- 11:33online eating camel. Yeah, and he's just gagging the
- 11:36entire time he's eating it. Oh.
- 11:37That's an excessive. So I don't I that's why I was
- 11:40curious 'cause I literally watched that video on like my
- 11:42TikTok feed like 3 days ago. Yeah, that sounds excessive or
- 11:45that feels excessive. No, yeah.
- 11:47I mean, and then the pigeon, so the pigeon in that was in Egypt
- 11:50and it's like a traditional wedding meal because so it's
- 11:54like the male eats the pigeon and it's, there's just, it's,
- 11:58it's the actual pigeon. Like, you know, it's all in
- 12:02there. And then it's stuffed with rice
- 12:04because apparently it'll increase testosterone levels.
- 12:09And so that's why the male will eat the pigeon.
- 12:11It's a traditional wedding thing.
- 12:15Sounds like Jim gains gains to me.
- 12:17Yeah, could be. Yeah, all the carbs.
- 12:19He was getting ready for a run. The.
- 12:23The other person, the. Guy that ate the pigeon stuffed
- 12:26rice? Yeah, probably.
- 12:27Yeah, rice stuffed. Yeah, 'cause it's mostly, it's
- 12:29not very much meat, it's very little meat.
- 12:31The pigeon missed tying rice. Good carbs, OK.
- 12:33Right. Yeah.
- 12:34Don't you carb load before a run?
- 12:36Right. Yeah.
- 12:37OK, like the night before a run or?
- 12:39Yeah, within a couple hours, yeah.
- 12:40Yeah, see, he was getting ready for a run, which Speaking of,
- 12:45Speaking of, wait. But also, you didn't give us
- 12:47your room. I don't know if I have one.
- 12:49I mean, I'm sure I do. Yeah, you do.
- 12:50You just don't wanna say no. No, I don't.
- 12:52I don't. I don't know.
- 12:53I don't know if I have one off the top of my head like that.
- 12:56We might have to circle back to that.
- 12:57OK, OK, OK. We.
- 12:59Can do that unless unless Fanny has one.
- 13:02I mean, she just said she ate camel.
- 13:03And yeah, Pigeon. Yeah.
- 13:07And kangaroo, Yes. When?
- 13:08Did you go to Australia? 20160, OK.
- 13:11Yeah, literally before I knew you.
- 13:13Yeah, I actually like, you know, the trend that's happening right
- 13:15now and. Everybody.
- 13:17And everyone's like doing the whole 10 years ago and I'm like,
- 13:20Oh my God, yeah, I was in Australia and I was a broke
- 13:24college student. I have no idea how I afforded
- 13:27that. I I really, I want to channel
- 13:29her though, because like, she knew what she was doing back
- 13:32then. Oh yeah, dude, Like, Oh my God.
- 13:34Actually, you know, Oh my God, when I was the last night, I
- 13:38have done questionable things, like I should be dead, like I
- 13:42should have died a long time ago.
- 13:43But like, I'm not. I'm still here.
- 13:46Yeah. Like the last night at
- 13:49Australia, like literally almost missed our flight.
- 13:52I still have nightmares about like missing the flight because
- 13:57of how, like, stressful that situation was.
- 14:00We. Went out.
- 14:02Yes, yes. And like, I mean, I wasn't even
- 14:0521 yet, but you the legal drinking age, I think is 18 over
- 14:08there. I was going to be 21 that year,
- 14:11but I wasn't 21 yet. And Oh my God, I was like, you
- 14:16know, it was also for at that time, like I went to go study
- 14:19there for a little bit and you know, you're tough, you know,
- 14:25you make dumb decisions. We got fucked up.
- 14:27And like back then I used to have really bad habits of like,
- 14:33well, I still do. Like when I'm ready to go home,
- 14:35I'm ready to go home. But back then, if I'm ready to
- 14:37go home, I just, and I mean just.
- 14:39Like Irish, goodbye. Yeah, yeah, I.
- 14:41You're one of those I love. I hate Irish.
- 14:43Goodbye. Yeah, yeah.
- 14:44You'd love it or you hate it. I love it.
- 14:46You do that all nobody. Nobody notices me sneaking out.
- 14:49You do that all the time and. Then you're probably just
- 14:51laughing the whole way home. Oh yeah, like, yes, like.
- 14:54Goddamn. Yeah, and I'm literally like
- 14:56this bitch. I'm like, yeah, peace.
- 14:59Or like, out of nowhere, you know, I get home.
- 15:02Like, hey, I'm home. Yes.
- 15:03We didn't even see you leave. Yeah, no.
- 15:06That's the point. Yeah, but I don't.
- 15:08I didn't, I didn't like mean to do the Irish goodbyes, but it's
- 15:10more of like at that time, I just if I was tired and I was
- 15:13ready to go, I was ready to go. And like, I didn't want to ruin
- 15:15anybody else's mood. So I'd be like peace out dogs.
- 15:18And I left by myself in a different country, by myself.
- 15:21I have no like, dude, I was so drunk.
- 15:23Like I blacked out. Like that was bad.
- 15:26Yeah. And I, I know I sound really bad
- 15:30and I, I have no idea how I called an Uber but at this point
- 15:36like I'm there for a while. So like I knew where the fuck I
- 15:38was going apparently. And then I the Uber woke me up
- 15:42and was like, hey, we're here. I don't even remember getting up
- 15:45to the and I remember the elevator.
- 15:47And then the next thing I remember is just waking up to my
- 15:50roommate with her hair wet. And I was so mad at her because
- 15:54she showered and I didn't shower.
- 15:56So I'm super hungover. This is a whole day flight and
- 16:00I'm stinky because I am. You know what?
- 16:04I. Mean sweating profusely.
- 16:05You. Sleep.
- 16:07Yes, it was the worst. And that was my first
- 16:09international flight. That was like my real first
- 16:11flight too. It's bad.
- 16:13Yeah, my first ever international flight was to
- 16:16London and I was in like the the middle part, you know, there's
- 16:20like 3 parts on international flight.
- 16:22I was like the middle of the middle and everyone turned their
- 16:25damn AC things instead of turning them off, they all just
- 16:28pointed up a different direction.
- 16:30Yeah, and I wasn't like in sweats or a hoodie like I was in
- 16:33it. Was 'cause it was your first
- 16:34time I. Was in shorts and AT shirt, cold
- 16:36as hell, had to get up and I started doing walking laps.
- 16:39Literally just started walking laps they.
- 16:40Didn't have no blankets for you. Well, they have like, I mean,
- 16:42they're like paper thin. It's better than nothing.
- 16:45Really. No, I took it.
- 16:45I took it and I was like, Nah. And then I just started walking
- 16:48laps and just would go to the bathroom as often as I could.
- 16:50Yeah. How old were you?
- 16:531817 or 18? Yeah, because like, you don't
- 16:55even want to ask somebody else. That's why I was asking your age
- 16:58because like, you know, I feel. Like now I would I would wake
- 17:01someone up and be like turn your AC unit. 100% yeah, yeah.
- 17:04But back then, yeah. You don't want to bother anyone.
- 17:06You're afraid. First one never knew like proper
- 17:08airline etiquette, you know? What I mean, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 17:11Was that did you go by yourself? It was like one of those school
- 17:14sponsored trips, like you, you paid through the school and it
- 17:18was like 18 or 20 of us. OK, Yeah, we went to England,
- 17:21France and the Netherlands. OK, well hopefully you'll have
- 17:25someone in Rome stories. Yeah, I know.
- 17:27I need to think on it. It's all right.
- 17:29I'm kidding. So you know, who were you before
- 17:32people knew you as the run guy? I feel like people know you as
- 17:35the run guy now. Yeah, I'm, I feel like I'm
- 17:37exclusively known as the run guy.
- 17:38I feel like a lot of people forget or not, just don't know
- 17:41that I also do like video work too.
- 17:43Yeah. Because before that I was like
- 17:45the video guy, you know, like amongst my friends and stuff,
- 17:48but which is OK. I like being known as the run
- 17:51guy. I had like, so much fun with the
- 17:53run club and everything. But before all of that, I was
- 17:57just, you know, I played sports growing up.
- 17:59I played soccer my entire life. And then I was just interested
- 18:02in video work. I feel like that's the most
- 18:04simple way to say it. And then running was always like
- 18:07adjacent in my life. Like I ran track and cross
- 18:10country and my brother did it as well, but soccer was like my
- 18:14main thing. OK, gotcha.
- 18:17So I mean you just you probably were running to be have good
- 18:21endurance for soccer. Yeah, pretty much.
- 18:23And just in fact, like my older brother did it too, you know,
- 18:25you want to obviously be like your your older siblings in some
- 18:27sort of way. And I was just decently good at
- 18:31it from a young age just from playing soccer.
- 18:33I feel like it's a pretty natural transition that a lot of
- 18:35people that people do. Yeah, Yeah, yeah, that's true.
- 18:40Yeah, you were fast. Thank.
- 18:42You. Yeah, like, like I remember at
- 18:46the Rosa run with Eddie, like, I don't think you passed me, but
- 18:50Luigi was there too. And I remember he was like,
- 18:53yeah, I'm really slow right now. And he was like all the way in
- 18:55the back. And then he just takes off and I
- 18:57was like, these people are sprinting.
- 18:59What the fuck? Yeah, well, I didn't know.
- 19:00I thought, like the La Rosa run was just like a run club vibe
- 19:05too. Yeah, I didn't know.
- 19:06Like, you know, people were going hard.
- 19:08Yeah. And then I saw someone going
- 19:11hard and I said fuck it, yeah. I'm gonna go hard too.
- 19:15I was like, I can't. I mean, I didn't end up, like,
- 19:17winning it or anything. Yeah, but I was like, they're
- 19:20going hard. I'm gonna go hard.
- 19:21Yeah. But I started the run with my
- 19:22Coffee days cup in my hand. You did like, because I thought
- 19:25we were just chilling, like, casual talking with everyone.
- 19:27Yeah. And so they, like, all took off.
- 19:29And I literally have my cup. Like, I have the video of it.
- 19:32I can send it to you guys. Yeah.
- 19:33I literally have like my coffee days, like a cup in my hand.
- 19:36And then I chug it and I drop it like 200 meters into the race.
- 19:39I'm like chugging my drink and I find like the nearest trash I
- 19:41can, Yeah. And then like I'd just take off
- 19:42after that. Oh my God.
- 19:44This is a horrible idea, by the way.
- 19:46Yeah, by the time I was done running, I was like, where's
- 19:48the? Where's the restroom?
- 19:51Did you find one? Yeah, there wasn't.
- 19:53There really wasn't one nearby. There was they had the porta
- 19:55potties right next to the Oh they did.
- 19:57Yeah, Yeah. I didn't pay attention.
- 19:58OK. Yeah, trust me, I was.
- 20:00Yeah, I was paying attention. She's she's.
- 20:05She's too busy. Like everybody's so fast.
- 20:07Yeah, no, it they were clean. They were very clean.
- 20:10I think they must have just put them out there because that was
- 20:11the kick start to like the whole week, right?
- 20:13I think so, yeah. Yeah, yeah.
- 20:14I think they had just like put them out there like that morning
- 20:16or the night before, OK. So yeah, very clean.
- 20:19Very clean. Oh, that's.
- 20:21Good. Happy with that?
- 20:21Yeah, and always sucks. Being in a port a potty, it
- 20:24sucks. As a girl.
- 20:26Oh, that's yes, yes. If we just need to pee, it's
- 20:30it's. Quick, that's true.
- 20:31You guys are so lucky. Just whip it out.
- 20:35Sorry I'm. Just like that.
- 20:37Just like that. Just like that.
- 20:42Just OK, damn these things, these things.
- 20:45This is why you're right. I probably shouldn't be holding
- 20:48on to anything. It's like everything reminds me
- 20:51of. I'm no kidding.
- 20:52OK, OK, stop. OK, get serious.
- 20:59Shit, I was gonna make something else and I already forgot before
- 21:03running though. Like what would you say that you
- 21:05were chasing or avoiding? Chasing would be like you mean.
- 21:13Film making. Yeah, I mean, yeah.
- 21:15And I still, and I still am, yeah.
- 21:18But yeah, definitely like just a more like the lifestyle really
- 21:22than than any particular activity kind of just, I mean,
- 21:26running was tied into it too. But there's a lot of like
- 21:28creators online that I follow and they honestly are just kind
- 21:32of like selling a lifestyle. What do you mean by the
- 21:35lifestyle? What's Yeah of just like a life
- 21:38surrounded by, you know, entrepreneurship friends who are
- 21:42also chasing similar goals. Bless you.
- 21:44But also very different things because I feel like having
- 21:46friends that are in completely different, like niches or
- 21:49elements is very important, you know, but they have the common
- 21:53ground of, you know, working out, healthy lifestyles,
- 21:56traveling, just like stuff of that nature.
- 21:58OK, that's the that's the running lifestyle is like being
- 22:02surrounded by like entrepreneurs.
- 22:04And I mean, I guess I wouldn't say so necessarily, but for me,
- 22:09yeah, my experience has been that because before that it was
- 22:12just all competition based because I was in high school and
- 22:14everything like that. And then just my friends that
- 22:17I'd known running who are competitive runners, like my
- 22:20brother was a collegiate runner and a collegiate coach and now
- 22:23he's a high school coach too. So his is all like very
- 22:26competition based. That's like his his life.
- 22:31Whereas for me it was more like social and just friends and
- 22:34stuff. Yeah, yeah.
- 22:36What was that transition like for you?
- 22:38Like did you actually notice even your friendships changing
- 22:41and your relationships changing? Like you went from something
- 22:43that was really more competitive focused and then like, you know,
- 22:48like I and then you start to see like even your friends maybe
- 22:51have changed as you like enter into a different chapter of your
- 22:55life. Yeah, I mean, I definitely would
- 22:57be more so like leaving soccer would be kind of like the the
- 23:01topic of, you know, leaving competition because leaving
- 23:06soccer like graduating from Newman in 2022 was obviously
- 23:10like a blessing. You know, I graduated college,
- 23:12all that stuff, but you lose all structure and like, I don't
- 23:16think you are prepared for that at all.
- 23:20Especially like, you know, athletically, like if you want
- 23:23to keep up with your, your, your fitness and stuff.
- 23:26Because in college soccer I was doing like 2 practices a day,
- 23:30like 2025 hours a week of training.
- 23:33Like under, you know, be a practice at this time, weight
- 23:36training at this time, film at this time, you know, be on the
- 23:38bus to go here. And then, you know, later in
- 23:41that summer of 2022, I was like somehow 10 lbs more than I was
- 23:46in May or April. And I was like, I don't even
- 23:48know where to begin. Like, I was just going to the
- 23:50gym. And then my brother talked me
- 23:52into running again. And I don't think I started
- 23:57running again until like 2023 at some point.
- 24:00OK. And then I did half marathon in
- 24:042024 of February and that was like the first time back in the
- 24:06running. OK, but that's 13 miles though,
- 24:08right? The half Like damn, do you like
- 24:11run the whole thing? Yeah, but I spent like all of
- 24:142022, like the whole second-half in the beginning of 2023, like
- 24:18just doing nothing but trying to lift or go to the.
- 24:21Y Oh, OK, OK. Not really understanding what I
- 24:24needed to do or even what I wanted to do.
- 24:25I was just lifting just to be like, oh, I worked out today.
- 24:27Does that make sense? Yeah.
- 24:29Yeah. But there was no real structure
- 24:30or no real thing until I started running and just trying to make
- 24:34friends through it. Like I was like, OK, well, you
- 24:36know, if I'm going to do this half marathon, I'm going to do
- 24:38it to my best of my ability. But I'm also not like anywhere
- 24:41near where I was like competitively or mentally.
- 24:45I'm trying to get there back now just because I I crave that
- 24:48again. But just looking at it from like
- 24:51a friend's perspective, like I got to travel to Austin with my
- 24:53brother and my best friends and like just looking at it from
- 24:56that way is it's kind of the, the experience route that I'm
- 24:59trying to go now. OK.
- 25:01So you're trying to, like, be able to make more connections as
- 25:05you're running? Not necessarily like, yeah, you
- 25:07want to get back into being healthier.
- 25:08I mean, you look healthy. No, yeah, I'm fine now.
- 25:11OK, OK. Well, I was fine then, too.
- 25:13That's, that's a really harsh way to say that.
- 25:15Yeah. But yeah, no, I just want to
- 25:18make friendships, build stuff from meeting people through
- 25:21running. Did you find your wife yet or
- 25:24no? Sorry, I don't know.
- 25:28Can you say that I. I don't have a wife, but the
- 25:32there, there, there has been a girl enter my life from the run
- 25:36club. Yes, see.
- 25:37So. So you did make the run club to
- 25:39find a girl? See, that's what everyone
- 25:41thinks. I mean, they're like new dating
- 25:43apps. Yeah, I know.
- 25:46And I didn't capitalize at all by making that like meme, like
- 25:49making reels or anything of that.
- 25:50I don't know why I didn't do that.
- 25:51Yeah, but yeah, everyone was trolling me the whole first
- 25:55couple of months. Like everyone like, like some of
- 25:56my closer friends from like a couple years ago, like childhood
- 25:59and stuff were always like, are you just making this to try to
- 26:01find a girlfriend? You know this?
- 26:03Yeah, Yeah. And so I was trying to be very
- 26:05intentional the first couple of months by not like trying to
- 26:07trying to talk, talk to girls out of like, hey, thanks for
- 26:10coming, you know, hoping you had a good time.
- 26:11Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, yeah. Because you didn't want to be
- 26:13known as that. Yeah, exactly.
- 26:14I didn't want to be like, oh, this guy's only hosting these
- 26:16runs to try to talk to girls. No, I I got.
- 26:19That so it's funny, but then the the central standard run, I
- 26:23started talking to a girl and I think it's because I was like,
- 26:26you know, a little buzz from the run club.
- 26:28Yeah, Central standard. So.
- 26:30I think that's why I fucked with your guys run why why I fucked
- 26:33with your run club. I like the other ones too, but I
- 26:36I like a good balance. I think like I'm in a point
- 26:38where it's like, yeah, like, you know, hustle and all that is
- 26:41great, but it's not realistic. You burnout.
- 26:46Yeah. Like just focusing on that all
- 26:48the time. And so like, even working out, I
- 26:50mean, like, you burnout if you're only focused on that.
- 26:53Like, like, I count my macros. I do all that.
- 26:55And it's just like sometimes you're just like, I'm tired of
- 26:58this. No. 100% yeah and yeah.
- 27:00Oh, I'm sorry. Go.
- 27:01Ahead. No, no, I was just going to say
- 27:03that's why I really liked the structure of your own clubs, of
- 27:06how social they are. And then I think I went to your
- 27:10first one. Was your first one in March or
- 27:12in April? It was March it.
- 27:13Was March OK? I went to the second then.
- 27:15OK. You had one in April, didn't
- 27:17you? Yeah, the first two were at
- 27:19Sedgwick County Park. Yes, I went to Sedgwick County
- 27:21Park one but I think I went to the second.
- 27:23OK, Yeah. Yeah.
- 27:24And then like you just started them out of nowhere though, I
- 27:26felt. Yeah, March was the.
- 27:27First one, were you just like were were you a popular kid?
- 27:30And cause like, I just felt like they blew up.
- 27:32Well, I wouldn't say that, but. You're like, damn, putting me on
- 27:39OK. I appreciate you saying like the
- 27:41structure, we do it like you like that a lot because like
- 27:43that's the whole thing, right? Like if I were just to start a
- 27:46normal run club where it's like, come and run and talk to people,
- 27:49that seems like a lot more intimidating because the whole
- 27:52point is like, you know, we're talking to people, meeting
- 27:54people, new friendships, new relationships, new business
- 27:57opportunities. All that is like the main part.
- 28:02And like, running is just something you do like while
- 28:03you're there. Yeah.
- 28:04That's kind of like the whole mantra that I want to have with
- 28:07that, I think. I think you're doing that really
- 28:09well. Thank you.
- 28:10Yeah, I feel that. Thank you.
- 28:13What was your, what was the second part of that question?
- 28:16They was. They popped up out of nowhere.
- 28:18Yeah, like I just feel like you blew up.
- 28:21Like you literally had like 2 and I was like, so were you
- 28:23popular or something? I was like.
- 28:24No, I was just in a really good circle of friends, like when I
- 28:28got. So I started going to Coffee
- 28:29Days in like 2023. Yeah, funny story, I got dumped
- 28:33in 2023. We broke up and I would go.
- 28:37What starts the whole like the hustle, the drive?
- 28:39Arc it's the great lock in no? No, no, I hear that though
- 28:43because like I make some one of my best stuff when I'm
- 28:46heartbroken. Yeah, well, so I actually, the
- 28:49run club wasn't originated from that.
- 28:51Yeah, it was. I just started going to Coffee
- 28:53Days every day after that. Yeah.
- 28:56It was like, that was like, I needed to go somewhere, try to
- 28:58be creative, do my thing, OK. And then I started meeting a lot
- 29:02of really good people from there.
- 29:03Yeah. Like I met Tiffany, obviously
- 29:06the owner of Coffee Days and just kind of talk to her
- 29:09day-to-day stuff. And then her now husband Nelson
- 29:13randomly DM D me one time to knowing I did video work and
- 29:17asked me to do his podcast. And so then I met him and then
- 29:21obviously I met a bunch of like the guests he had on and his
- 29:23circle of friends and things just started kind of trickling
- 29:26from there. And then I met Junior Han, who's
- 29:30my trainer who does like the boot camp stuff.
- 29:33And so everyone there was like 25 of us and we were all just
- 29:36kind of like doing our own thing, but supporting each other
- 29:39as well. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 29:41And I think from March, like all, pretty much all 2530 people
- 29:44that were going to this things came to the very first run.
- 29:46And so that was like a huge hope.
- 29:48They're all sharing it. And then just kind of build the
- 29:51community. We'd go to juniors workout
- 29:52classes and then everyone else would go like we'd all go to the
- 29:54run club too, so. Yeah, some of you guys are like
- 29:58real healthy for sure. Like I would be like some people
- 30:02like there'd be two runs a day and and or three and these
- 30:05people would literally go like I'm going to go to this one and
- 30:07then I'm going to go to that one and I'm like y'all are wild.
- 30:10Fuck that. Yeah, I know there's been
- 30:12somewhere like they've gone to a run and immediately came to mind
- 30:15after it. Yeah, it's ridiculous.
- 30:16I'm like, that's crazy. I mean, yeah.
- 30:18I mean, it's cool. Cool.
- 30:19No, it's crazy. It's cool for them, no?
- 30:23Too much. I'm just not a cardio person.
- 30:27I mean, like I, I do it, but so like the reason that I went to
- 30:31yours in April. I remember I saw it like
- 30:34probably 2 weeks because you, you posted that.
- 30:35Like you didn't post it with like a lot of I'm thinking of
- 30:40the word but I can't think of it in English right now.
- 30:44Was it in Spanish? Yeah, like nola posiste
- 30:49conservisiente previ nacion like you didn't.
- 30:53Not a lot of like time before. Yes, but there's one word.
- 30:58I don't know like notice like what do you mean?
- 31:01Yeah, notice. Spanish ball knocked that
- 31:04understood all of that, by the way.
- 31:05Yeah. Yeah, you did.
- 31:09You did. Yeah, I know, Ball.
- 31:14No, Yeah. So that was like kind of like
- 31:16the whole tactic was like, I don't want there to be too much
- 31:20thought if you're going to go or.
- 31:22Not so so actually that helped me.
- 31:24Exactly. No like seriously but I've never
- 31:26been a runner and I think like I start to so I'm like damn I need
- 31:30to work on my endurance. A couple years ago, I start jump
- 31:33roping, which helps me, and then I start to do all of that.
- 31:37And then I'm like, well, I'm pretty healthy.
- 31:40I think I could just like, do this run.
- 31:41And then again, the meds, I'm like, they start to really work.
- 31:44They take a while. And then I remember waking up
- 31:46that day and thinking, like, oh, my God, I've never loved life
- 31:49this much. I'm going to go to a run.
- 31:51And I went to your run. Like that was my fault.
- 31:54That was just it. Yeah.
- 31:56That was like the whole point I wanted to do.
- 31:57I wanted didn't want anyone to feel like any sort of pressure.
- 32:00Like if you feel good, you go and it's like you just saw the
- 32:03plans. So you like would text a friend
- 32:04like, hey, if you're not doing anything, let's go to this.
- 32:06Yeah, I do like that about them. Yeah, they're very everyone.
- 32:10A lot of other people don't like that.
- 32:12They're like, I wish we had more time to like put this on our
- 32:14calendar. I'm like, well, I don't even
- 32:15know when I'm going to do them, you know what I mean?
- 32:18I want to wake up, like you said, one day, like, hey, we're
- 32:20going to have a run tonight. And I've done that once.
- 32:24You did the 4th of July 1 or something like that?
- 32:26There was a run. It was like June, I want to say
- 32:28OK, but they're all like within usually the week of that.
- 32:32I posted it. That's crazy.
- 32:33But there was one I gave. It's crazy because you do
- 32:35vendors too. That's why it's crazy.
- 32:37Yeah, yeah, yeah. So you're like.
- 32:40Not there was one run that I did I think like 7 hours notice.
- 32:44I think I posted it at like 11 or 12 and we ran that night.
- 32:48Oh my God, at the keeper. Yeah.
- 32:49And there was like 80 people that still came.
- 32:52Yeah, it was crazy, but yeah, it's so fun.
- 32:55Like doing the doing the last minute stuff.
- 32:57I'm like, hey, if you don't come like you're having extreme FOMO.
- 33:00Like that's what I try to create like.
- 33:01Gotcha. It's the whole FOMO.
- 33:03Yeah, You capitalize on that really well.
- 33:05Thank you. You're a marketing guy.
- 33:07He knows ball. Like if you don't come, you
- 33:10don't know when the next one. Is, see, I'm a good Gen.
- 33:11Z. Uh, I knew what to say.
- 33:13If you if you don't come, you don't know when the next one is.
- 33:16And so it forces you to be like. But you don't know when the next
- 33:19one is either. Yeah, I know.
- 33:21OK, yeah, you're like, you gotta know me.
- 33:23Like hey, you don't like yeah, it could be a month and 1/2
- 33:25until the next one. I see what you're saying.
- 33:27Yeah, that's true. Cuz you haven't had one.
- 33:30I did one on New Year's Eve. That was the last one we had.
- 33:32Yeah, just in two weeks. But I don't know when the next
- 33:34one is. Yeah, fair.
- 33:36Could be next week. Could be, could be tonight.
- 33:39Could be tonight. Could be tonight we're going to
- 33:41go run as part of this promotion.
- 33:43We're going to I'm going to run in my my next Stompers and
- 33:46you're going to run in your. Next.
- 33:50Stompers, yeah. So I can put a application in
- 33:54with DHS too? Yeah, yeah.
- 33:57Sheesh. Yeah, next Stompers.
- 33:59Next, Stompers. Yeah, I.
- 34:00Was going to say Spice Girl shoes.
- 34:02Spice Girls, I see it. Yeah.
- 34:04No, my next Stompers, I feel like that's more on brand.
- 34:09No. OK as.
- 34:12Long as you're not stomping on my neck, I guess.
- 34:14Yeah, I know. Yeah, I would never.
- 34:16I don't know. I mean, except for when you hit
- 34:18me. Oh, you can't hear me.
- 34:20Yeah. I got it.
- 34:24You were like, you hate so concerned.
- 34:27That was so sweet. What's so concerned?
- 34:34No, we've asked several people who like so we when we have like
- 34:39multiple business owners, we're like, when was your guys's last
- 34:42fight or whatever our last argument.
- 34:46And we're always like joking about like, Dusty loves working
- 34:49with me and then he always plays this do.
- 34:53You hear it? Oh, OK.
- 34:54Yeah, yeah. Yeah, so like, so someone else
- 34:58will ask him what's it like to work with her and then he'll be
- 35:00like. OK, I'm, I'm my bad.
- 35:04Yeah, I got it now. Yeah, yeah.
- 35:06Yeah, it's fine. It's fine working with her.
- 35:08It's just. That's a new word.
- 35:12It's just fine, just fine, just fine, he.
- 35:16Said fine. It's fine.
- 35:18We accomplished a lot. Sometimes I don't feel like
- 35:25accomplishing that much and but then afterwards I'm like,
- 35:28alright, we got it done. Cool.
- 35:29Yeah, yeah. Oh my God, So crazy.
- 35:33Like you when we first started. What was that like the first or
- 35:36second season we would literally record the night before?
- 35:41Get drunk. And he would he'd be drunk
- 35:45editing the video the next day. Post it at 5:00.
- 35:50AM Yeah, I can't do none of that.
- 35:52Yeah, editing and all that. I'm not like some savant editing
- 35:57or anything, it just has to be good enough to go up especially.
- 36:02But you're doing it like together.
- 36:03Especially when we're first starting out.
- 36:05Yeah, but you're like editing it together, drinking or you get,
- 36:09you drink, and then you go home and edit.
- 36:11Well, it's because we drink on the pod, so we drink on the
- 36:13episode. Oh, and then you'd edit it
- 36:15immediately after is what you're saying?
- 36:16Yeah, OK, I was gonna say I can't edit with like anyone near
- 36:19around. Yeah, yeah.
- 36:20No, yeah, yeah. Nobody is around when I'm
- 36:23editing. OK, yeah, I was like, I have to
- 36:25like look at a blank wall. All the lights are off.
- 36:27There's yeah, I can't. OK, Yeah.
- 36:30Yeah, I got to be tuned in in my chair, Yeah.
- 36:35With the buzz, that was impressive.
- 36:37Being drunk with the buzz, that's impressive.
- 36:39I mean, you know, deadline is tomorrow morning, so.
- 36:42Yeah, I had to. Fair enough.
- 36:44At that time, we were trying to be podcasters.
- 36:46We were like weekly episodes. I was trying to, I was trying to
- 36:51push them towards that. It was so tiring.
- 36:55It was hard. I was also trying to push them
- 36:57towards video and they didn't want to do it at the time.
- 37:00Five years later we're here, or three years later, I don't know.
- 37:03Two years. Later, I don't remember.
- 37:05Three years later, Yeah, yeah, I'm not depressed anymore.
- 37:09That's why we're back. Straight up and.
- 37:12Then she's like, let's do all of this stuff.
- 37:14And I was like, OK, I'm. Telling you the meds are
- 37:18working. The meds are working, they're
- 37:20medding, they're medding and I'm drinking on them, so it's fine.
- 37:25Would you like some ice in your drink?
- 37:27No, it's still cold. Is it?
- 37:29Yeah, OK. Cool.
- 37:30Yeah. How do you deal with with that
- 37:31kind of stuff in in your productions?
- 37:34Like. Working with, yeah, avoiding
- 37:37burnout, working with tight deadlines, working with people
- 37:42who maybe. Are just fine to work with.
- 37:45Yeah. Just fine to work with.
- 37:50I mean, I think it's just you just have to like set proper
- 37:54expectations beforehand, like because the biggest like thing
- 37:59you run into is like after you make the video, people like
- 38:03expecting, you know, all these revisions, Oh, let's change the
- 38:06song, let's do this, let's do that.
- 38:08But if you can kind of do all that, like in the pre
- 38:10production, like, hey, this would be the music we're going
- 38:11to use. You know, this is the full
- 38:14vision we have storyboard we have.
- 38:16And then obviously we do like one or two revisions and then
- 38:19you put like a a, you set all the expectations in the in the
- 38:23ground rules for that. It becomes a lot easier.
- 38:25And then if I don't like working with them the first time, I just
- 38:29don't work with them again. So when when you describe
- 38:34someone as working fine with them, you wouldn't work with
- 38:37them again. No, if it's fine like it's like
- 38:40I, you know, I, I guess yeah, if there I don't.
- 38:42Understand if the fine is a good word or a bad word.
- 38:45If it's just fine, I mean, if it's just fine, yeah.
- 38:49If it's just way like we can get, we can, we can get through
- 38:51it, but and. Then what else is there to do?
- 38:56And then, you know, we just wait around and, like, kind of hope
- 39:00they don't text us back. And then, like, you know, they
- 39:02text us. Hey, do you want to shoot again?
- 39:04Yeah, I guess I'm free. That's just fine, by the way.
- 39:09That's what just fine looks like your text.
- 39:11Messages. No, but he.
- 39:16He hey, we made just fine work out since 2021.
- 39:20You're right. There we go.
- 39:21It's it's just because Dusty doesn't have an outburst type of
- 39:26personality. No, you're more of a chill
- 39:29personality. Yeah.
- 39:31And I'm definitely more of a outburst personality.
- 39:36Yeah. My outbursts happen differently.
- 39:41Yeah. Yeah.
- 39:42Through music. Yeah.
- 39:44Yeah. I see it for sure.
- 39:46But what about with burnout? How are you managing that?
- 39:48Because like you like you build the whole FOMO for the runs and
- 39:52then like you literally have the vendor set up within that time
- 39:56or like, are you just, are you also just living your life
- 39:59spontaneously? Is that it?
- 40:00I mean, yeah, OK, well sometimes like I'll know when I like
- 40:05envision doing a run and then like I'll hit up vendors before.
- 40:08So like if I'm, you know, posting the run, like I mean, I
- 40:10guess if it's all within a week, I try to have my vendors before
- 40:13I like post that I'm doing a run just so I can have everything
- 40:17set. But burnout.
- 40:19I think everything is just so different right now.
- 40:21Like with everything I do, like all the runs, themes are
- 40:23different and I just love it. Like, I'm still in that, like
- 40:28maybe the honeymoon phase of it. And I hope, yeah.
- 40:32And I hope it. I hope it never goes away.
- 40:34Yeah. But everything is just so
- 40:35different and new and exciting that I just haven't experienced
- 40:38that, especially with the run. Yeah, what about with film?
- 40:42I think the run carries it 'cause I get the, I do a lot of
- 40:45like I do all the video stuff in the marketing for the run that I
- 40:50guess like I'm OK if like some of the video work I do isn't
- 40:53like as enjoyable just 'cause I get to know like I have full
- 40:57creative control and anything I want to do with this run club,
- 41:00like I can go film and do and then the other part's just like
- 41:04it's my job for clients. Gotcha.
- 41:08Wait, so are you full film right now or really?
- 41:11Yeah, yeah, just. You're full freelance.
- 41:13Yeah, that's cool. Congratulations.
- 41:16Yeah. Well, I hope my mom manages like
- 41:18a bingo hall so I hope her like every once and again.
- 41:20But yeah, like my main income is all.
- 41:24That's cool. I I didn't know that.
- 41:26OK, so then yeah. OK, so I have a question.
- 41:29I feel like you post the runs more confidently.
- 41:32Like I wanted to like get a maybe a little more vulnerable.
- 41:35I feel like you are more likely to make those posts.
- 41:37But I don't see you post a lot on your film page.
- 41:41Why? Why is that?
- 41:42I think maybe part of it is just 'cause like, I creatively like
- 41:45those more, OK. I don't know if it's a
- 41:49confidence thing, 'cause I'm really confident about what I do
- 41:52and I'm like, I know I can do a good job with my work, but I
- 41:57just have so much more fun with the run.
- 41:58Like that's just who I am right now.
- 42:00Maybe. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 42:02And that I like that more. OK, gotcha.
- 42:05Yeah, yeah. And so then like, so I'm also
- 42:09just kind of like curious as like you're, well, actually I
- 42:13guess maybe with both, right? Because right now you're
- 42:15freelancing, so you're kind of almost at the mercy of your
- 42:17client. Yeah, it's what?
- 42:18The client. Wants it's.
- 42:19Like and and so then yeah, you are like your creativity is not
- 42:25as profound as you want it to be.
- 42:28Maybe. Yeah, exactly.
- 42:31Like I have a client that I go up to Kansas City right now and
- 42:34she's amazing. She's such a nice lady, takes
- 42:36care of me. She's not just fine to work
- 42:38with. She's not just fine to work
- 42:39with. And she's very passionate about
- 42:41what she does. And like, that bleeds through to
- 42:44me. Like, you know, maybe I'm not
- 42:45very passionate about what she does, like when I'm up there
- 42:47filming, but like, I can feel her energy and I and I like it
- 42:50and I appreciate it, but it's not nothing.
- 42:52Like, it's nothing I would ever post to my own page.
- 42:54Do you know what I mean? Just because it's so different
- 42:56from what I would do. OK, Yeah, the only.
- 43:00Fans, that's fair. Yeah, the needs of the of the
- 43:02video really don't like spark anything within me to post.
- 43:06OK, Yeah, and some things I also just like you can't post too on
- 43:09your personal page. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 43:12Because it's like, you know, stuff you did for your work.
- 43:15Yeah, yeah. No, I get that.
- 43:18Yeah. Do you have a portfolio?
- 43:19Oh, go ahead. It's like me and DJ ING kind of
- 43:24like I don't post anything. Like when I do like birthday
- 43:27parties or weddings and stuff that's all private stuff.
- 43:29Like I don't post in any of that.
- 43:30But you know, an actual show. Yeah, that's all gonna get
- 43:33posted. Yeah, that's, that's fair.
- 43:35Yeah. Signed the NDA's, no.
- 43:38Or what is it like the ability to be able to take pictures and
- 43:41videos? Well, Ndas would be that OK.
- 43:45Yeah, it would be. OK.
- 43:46If you're like posting from where you were and stuff, yeah,
- 43:48like the work you were doing, yeah, that would be like an NDA,
- 43:50OK. OK.
- 43:51That's what it is, yeah. Like talking about the details
- 43:53or like sharing? Yeah, yeah.
- 43:54OK, OK, no, I get that. I can't post things about my job
- 44:00either. Really.
- 44:01Yeah, but I don't know that I'd want to.
- 44:04Yeah, exactly. That's the exactly that's where
- 44:06I'm at. It's like, I mean like like the
- 44:08the Kansas City client and some of the other clients.
- 44:10I can fully post if I want to. Like it's not something we've
- 44:12talked about. But just, I don't think it
- 44:15really gains much for me other than like I feel like I get more
- 44:18out of like me just making content like individually of
- 44:21like me shooting, being up there than like me actually sharing
- 44:24the, the end result. Yeah, yeah.
- 44:28I could be completely wrong though, I don't know.
- 44:31When you're planning either any of the events or anything else,
- 44:36like do you envision like do you imagine like like what how this
- 44:44is going to spark something in you or do you envision the
- 44:47audience that you're trying to make this for first?
- 44:49Do you get what I'm saying? I think I think of the audience
- 44:54first. OK.
- 44:55Like you're like trying to like work on something or put an
- 44:58event together or even make a film and you're like, who am I
- 45:01thinking is going to enjoy this and how are they going to react?
- 45:04Specifically for the run club, the audience first, because I've
- 45:08been to like other run clubs before and like obviously I, I
- 45:11know how it feels to be like a member.
- 45:15And I think my good factor, like, as me, like what fulfills
- 45:18me is watching like, the aftermath of a run, like how
- 45:21people interacted, like you saying, like you had a such good
- 45:24time and, you know, it made you feel comfortable.
- 45:27It's like, that would be more fulfilling for me.
- 45:29But like the pre planning for the runs, it's like I'm only
- 45:32thinking about the person. Yeah.
- 45:33Like, I'll go do the routes. Especially the first couple.
- 45:36I was so stressed. You can ask like Nelson or
- 45:38anyone. Yeah, my brother or anyone.
- 45:41The first couple runs were the biggest stressors of my life
- 45:43because I was like tripping, like just straight tripping.
- 45:46Like the second one you went to. Yeah.
- 45:48That was like the Renaissance Fair.
- 45:50Weekend. Yes, Yeah, I was.
- 45:51Like so there was like all half that.
- 45:52So the first one we did was at the big gazebo in March.
- 45:56And obviously that was taken. Like I found out that the
- 45:58Renaissance Festival was happening like the day before
- 46:01the run. And so I was like, Oh my God,
- 46:02we're not be able to do the run. So I drove to Sedgwick County
- 46:05Park right there when I found out.
- 46:06And I was talking to all the coordinators there and they're
- 46:08like, you probably shouldn't do the run because it's gonna be a
- 46:10huge traffic mess. And then that's kind of like
- 46:12when the whole like, fucking, I'm gonna do it anyway mentality
- 46:15came. Yeah, yeah.
- 46:16Was from that. Yeah, you're like, I'll figure
- 46:18it out. Yeah, exactly.
- 46:19But before every run like I'll like obviously do like agps of
- 46:23like the route, but then I'll go run it to and like kind of
- 46:26envision what, you know, maybe 200 to help to 350 people could
- 46:32look like running this and I'll be like, OK, cool.
- 46:33Is there any like hazards that people could trip on?
- 46:35Dang, yeah, like the central standard run did.
- 46:39Were you at the? Did you go to the Central
- 46:40standard run? I did.
- 46:41Yes, it was. I went.
- 46:43You did. We talked.
- 46:44About this we. Talked about this podcast there,
- 46:46yeah. OK, I did it super spontaneously
- 46:49too. I was literally we were
- 46:51recording someone. The next day, I don't remember,
- 46:54we were recording someone. I had to go and get all the
- 46:57alcohol for that person. This, I think this was pre Bryce
- 47:00maybe. And so like, so I had to like go
- 47:04and get all the stuff for the fucking cocktail.
- 47:07I'm not a cocktail person. Or like, I don't, I'm not.
- 47:09And what's it called? Bartender.
- 47:11Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm just, I'm just an alcoholic
- 47:14and, and I, I was trying to make it to the run because in my head
- 47:21I'm like, well, I'm going to try to go.
- 47:23And I was just like, well, fuck it.
- 47:25I didn't make it in time. We were in the old studio.
- 47:27So I had to go pick up the key from from him and he was in that
- 47:31area or he lives in the area where the run was at.
- 47:34I literally saw you guys. So I was like fuck it, parked my
- 47:38car and just joined. You're not the only person that
- 47:40did that. Really.
- 47:41Yeah, there's a couple other people that did that as well.
- 47:44Like they they saw the run happening and like they knew
- 47:46they were like they were trying to come, but they were late and
- 47:48so they just parked their car literally wherever they saw like
- 47:50the main group AT and they so. That's funny, yes.
- 47:52And then, and so then like I remember, like it was late by
- 47:55the time I left because it was an evening run and I didn't
- 47:59fucking remember where my I parked my car.
- 48:01Oh my God, I'm telling you. I'm telling you, there's a lot
- 48:05of moments that I should have died a long time ago.
- 48:09Fair enough. And, and I didn't, I didn't miss
- 48:13too much of the run, but it was like closer to it was already
- 48:18like near what is that? Douglas Washington.
- 48:20Washington, Right. The one that's going North and
- 48:23South. N yeah, that's Washington.
- 48:26Yeah, I parked near Washington. Oh, like by QT?
- 48:28Yeah. OK, cool.
- 48:29No, no, you're thinking about the intersection.
- 48:32Yeah, but just like if we went straight up.
- 48:35Oh, you were in the neighborhood still?
- 48:36Yeah, no, I was like, basically by Washington, but like, you
- 48:42know, Central Standard's all the way down here in the
- 48:44neighborhood. So anyways, I parked further up
- 48:47and I couldn't remember though. And I was like, well, fuck it,
- 48:50I'm just gonna wander around. That's so funny.
- 48:53That's so funny. Yeah, that's I remember now
- 48:56because Tiffany introduced me to you and we talked about this
- 48:58podcast there. Yes.
- 48:59Yeah, OK, Yes. And then, yeah, several months
- 49:02later, you're here. And now I'm your favorite,
- 49:04right? Correct and.
- 49:07You're like as just fine to work with.
- 49:09Yeah, so far just fine. But it's progressing, No, but so
- 49:14that were. Your favorite podcast?
- 49:16What? Not just fine.
- 49:22So like that run, for instance, there was a bunch of like stuff
- 49:25I obviously wanted to do to make sure, like being downtown, I was
- 49:28really stressed. Like that was the first run we
- 49:29did downtown that like wasn't on the river or like wasn't in
- 49:34like, I mean, College Hill was. We just did the neighborhood, so
- 49:36it was easy, but I ran that route like 3 times.
- 49:40Really. Yeah.
- 49:40Like, OK, cool. Like, you know, during this,
- 49:43like I went the Friday before, I want to say like, at the same
- 49:46time, it was like trying to judge the traffic, like what I
- 49:49think the traffic would be next week.
- 49:50Damn, look at you. And then I did it the day of to
- 49:52like make sure the distance was perfect and I put like signs and
- 49:55I chopped the whole thing. Yeah.
- 49:57But yeah, no, I do like all that before I try to make sure like
- 50:00everything's perfect. Just so think when you go, you
- 50:03can just shut your brain off and you just think about
- 50:05socializing. Yeah, that's sweet.
- 50:08Wait, but like, but you're also just like, you've run a lot,
- 50:12don't you? Sometimes you're just running by
- 50:13yourself. Yeah, I mean, I've run a decent
- 50:15bit. Yeah, you run quite a bit.
- 50:17Like how many times a week do you would you run?
- 50:19If I'm training for something, I run like six days a week.
- 50:22Damn. But right now I'm like, I mean,
- 50:25this is my first week. That's pretty decent, but if I'm
- 50:27not training for anything I try to run like twice a week.
- 50:30OK. And are are we talking short or
- 50:32long distance like 2 miles, 3 miles, 6 miles?
- 50:35If I'm training for something that can get pretty extensive,
- 50:38like when I trained for the Chicago Marathon, I think the
- 50:40long side run was like 20 miles. Every day.
- 50:42No, no, no, no, no. Like I'd run like 50 miles a
- 50:45week then. So like 20 miles is like one run
- 50:48on like a Sunday or Saturday, but all the other runs were like
- 50:506 or 7. How long was the marathon again?
- 50:53Like, like what was you ended it?
- 50:56What, 3 hours? 5 hours?
- 50:57I don't. Know no three hours and like
- 50:592829 minutes maybe. That's still really fast, right?
- 51:03It's pretty good. Yeah, I don't.
- 51:05Yes. It's not as good as I should
- 51:07have done, but it was pretty good.
- 51:08You're just hard on yourself. Yeah, probably.
- 51:11OK, fair. Yeah.
- 51:14But Speaking of central standard, that is the one I was
- 51:15telling you I met like my now girlfriend at.
- 51:19Damn. I wasn't out.
- 51:20No, I don't. I don't.
- 51:21You know, I'd just be minding my business.
- 51:24That's fair. But I actually met her because
- 51:27IA lot of people give me like their stuff.
- 51:29So like curating the experience, I end up with everyone's
- 51:32personal belongings. Half the time I have like
- 51:34everyone's keys, phones, wallets.
- 51:36I'm like, I'm running this too. You know what I mean?
- 51:38I don't know where you want me to put this but I ended up with
- 51:41like a bunch of people's keys and one of my friends came up to
- 51:43me and was like hey can I get my keys back and and.
- 51:46You're like, well pick What Car? No, I literally tried handing a
- 51:49car like one of the keys to her and she's like, oh, those aren't
- 51:51mine. I was like, who's are these?
- 51:52And she they like they told me. And I was like, oh, OK, cool.
- 51:56Well, she's gonna have to come see me then.
- 51:58And yeah, so you pulled one of those You.
- 52:02Did you did? So, but I was lit at that point.
- 52:06You slide dog. Post, post run and post run.
- 52:12That's crazy. Post post post run had like 3 or
- 52:194 beers in me, and they're stronger beers because they're
- 52:22brewery beers. Yeah.
- 52:23So I was already depleted from it being summer.
- 52:25Yeah, that was the second run I had that day too, because I told
- 52:27you like I ran before to make sure the route was good and it's
- 52:30hot and it was hot, so. So we're blaming alcohol?
- 52:33I'm not blaming, I'm just like, that was the catalyst because
- 52:37she's coming to runs before and I didn't talk to her at all,
- 52:39didn't say a single word to her. Yeah, but you spotted her.
- 52:41You're like. Yeah, clocked for sure.
- 52:43Yeah, bad. Haunted.
- 52:45That yeah, yeah, yeah. Noted.
- 52:49But yeah. Yeah, well, look at you.
- 52:53Nice couple runs later and you finally found a girlfriend.
- 52:58Love that for you. So should we end the run club
- 52:59now or no? Or is it like now I have to like
- 53:02be like matchmaker for? She's still single over here.
- 53:05OK cool and needs help. In that department, real bad.
- 53:09Real bad. So once Fanny finds a
- 53:11significant other, we can we can end it.
- 53:15Or like I. Don't think I don't think you
- 53:17would want to so. No, we want.
- 53:18We're never ending it. That was that was jokes.
- 53:20Yeah. Yeah.
- 53:22But we can help you. Let's get like, really serious
- 53:25doesn't. Get real serious.
- 53:26You're like you're gonna help me.
- 53:27What are? What's your type?
- 53:29What are we looking for? What's my type?
- 53:31Oh yeah, she likes neck tattoos. Neck tattoos, well, we have a
- 53:34bunch of that. Oh, look at that.
- 53:37Hey. We're going to go down this
- 53:40path. Yesterday I was like, hey, my
- 53:42dentist wants to come on the show and then I sent her a pic.
- 53:45She's like, not my type. I was like, yeah, I know she
- 53:46don't got neck tattoos and stuff, but you know, still
- 53:49pretty. It's a joke.
- 53:52It's a joke. I I like a good man who like
- 53:55looks or like, you know, who went to jail but then reformed.
- 53:58And then you're like a bad boy. I'm.
- 54:00Kidding. No, she likes.
- 54:02Something to look like it, but not actually be it.
- 54:05Yeah. OK, a performative OK.
- 54:08No, OK. I oh, my God.
- 54:12No. Oh, shit.
- 54:14Damn. I'm gonna get vulnerable in
- 54:15here. OK, yeah, yeah, no, I'm kidding.
- 54:19I don't know. What's my type?
- 54:20What's my type? Is this a real question that I
- 54:23have to answer? You don't have to answer it, OK?
- 54:24It was, yeah, it was more jokes. OK.
- 54:26But if you want to answer it, then you know we can we can help
- 54:29you. Oh, you should put that.
- 54:32You should put like a fill out form and then you'll be like you
- 54:35know what are you looking for. You know, there are some run
- 54:38clubs like in the country that do like wear like a certain
- 54:41colour if you're single. Yeah.
- 54:42Have you seen those? I've seen similar events.
- 54:45Yeah, not necessarily runs, but. We're like, yeah, like wear
- 54:48black or wear red or something if you're.
- 54:49Single you can wear green or what?
- 54:51So. That, you know, you can spot
- 54:54everybody that's single because they're wearing that.
- 54:56Those all the time. Oh, and then obviously let's
- 54:59let's the other person know that you're like open to being, Yeah,
- 55:02you know, if you wear the shirt because you're single, then that
- 55:04obviously signals that you're open to, you know, being
- 55:06approached. Yeah, it's like the pineapple
- 55:10for swingers. Sure.
- 55:13Yeah. OK.
- 55:14Yeah, yeah, yeah. Open to being approached, yeah.
- 55:17Yeah, like. If you have the pineapple,
- 55:19you're. The time that swingers did
- 55:20approach me, I had no pineapples on, they just came up handles
- 55:24like. You give swinger vibes.
- 55:27I know I do, I I don't. Know, I don't think so.
- 55:30I don't think so. It was.
- 55:31I was in Kansas City in the Power and Light district.
- 55:34Yeah, friend and I were getting ready to play the foosball, and
- 55:39he went up to the counter to get the balls.
- 55:42I'm just standing there in my nice outfit, and then this
- 55:45couple walks up. First thing out of the guy's
- 55:47mouth, I'm pretty sure, was, hey, you want to fuck my
- 55:50girlfriend? But then he said something else
- 55:52afterwards real fast. And then and I heard the second
- 55:55part and then in my head I was like, did I?
- 55:56Did he just say? What he just said, Yeah.
- 55:59What? Yeah.
- 56:01And then he started trying to get to know me and stuff.
- 56:03And then my friend comes back with the balls and he's like,
- 56:05OK, we're about to play. We're about to play foosball
- 56:09here. You're like nice meeting you
- 56:10guys. We have to leave, We're going to
- 56:12play foosball. Hope you find what you're
- 56:14looking for. And I was like, yo, I think he,
- 56:19he's like, yeah, that that probably did definitely just
- 56:22happened to you. And I was like, oh, I mean, look
- 56:25at you. I don't know if I'm flattered.
- 56:26I don't know about the yeah. Oh, it wasn't flattering.
- 56:29Oh no, it kind of was, but it kind of wasn't.
- 56:31You weren't flattered? I was, but it wasn't because
- 56:34it's like goal. Are you going to join or what?
- 56:40Oh, so you just need more information?
- 56:42Yeah, I need I need more info here.
- 56:44Yeah, but then you ask follow-ups.
- 56:47'Cause it was so. Was the woman attractive?
- 56:50It was so. That's fair where you were
- 56:51attractive. She was all right.
- 56:52Were you attracted to her 'cause there's a difference like.
- 56:54Someone. Someone.
- 56:55Someone can be attractive, but where you attractive that's
- 56:58different. I don't know, 'cause it just
- 57:00happened so fast and just told, you know.
- 57:03You got caught off guard. I mean, I've been a little like
- 57:06off putting just being so caught off guard too, yeah.
- 57:09And it wasn't like you frozen. Yeah, I mean, we we're in power
- 57:13and light and all, but it wasn't one of those Like it wasn't like
- 57:17party time. Yeah, it was still early in the
- 57:18evening. I mean, you're playing foosball,
- 57:20yeah. Yeah, we just got done bowling.
- 57:22You don't play football. In the spring, Kansas City Bar
- 57:24the Upstairs 1. Yeah, the upstairs.
- 57:26One, they got the toggling, Yeah, yeah, OK.
- 57:28And the I don't remember what the name of it is, but that's
- 57:30where we were, so I'm not expecting to get hit on or
- 57:33anything. Yeah.
- 57:37You got it like that I. Don't know.
- 57:40I was dressed nice though, that's why.
- 57:42So maybe that's why. That's why, yeah, they they
- 57:45clocked a Batty. Yeah.
- 57:47You know, they're like, yeah, we never had an Asian.
- 57:50Let's go. Try.
- 57:52They probably didn't even know that you were allowed.
- 57:54They probably were like he just any Asian.
- 57:56They were just looking for any Asian.
- 57:57Yeah, yeah, they wouldn't have known which one you were.
- 58:00Yeah, most people looking for an Asian don't really care any
- 58:04Asian work. Yeah.
- 58:08Probably, I don't know. Probably.
- 58:14Have you ever been approached and then like you're like not
- 58:17interested in them, but you found them attractive and you're
- 58:19like have to figure out how to tell them that you're not
- 58:21interested? Yeah.
- 58:26I mean, I normally just say immediately like I'm not
- 58:29interested. Just like that, I'm not
- 58:31interested. Yeah, because I mean, what are
- 58:34you going to do? Like, I don't want someone to
- 58:35like, feel bad, I guess. I mean, it's different than
- 58:39like, you know, the swinger like a guy asking me to fuck his
- 58:41girlfriend. So it's a little bit easier, I
- 58:46guess maybe just to say I'm not interested there.
- 58:48I'd be like, why are you asking me that right now?
- 58:51You're like, what about me? No.
- 58:52I think I would just say I'm not interested.
- 58:54Yeah. Or try to at least like I do.
- 58:57That's what I you know, I don't get approached a lot.
- 59:01Me neither. I don't think a lot of people
- 59:04get approached, or maybe they do.
- 59:06I don't get approached a lot, yeah.
- 59:08Yeah. I think the times I have, it's
- 59:11like, yeah, I'm not interested. I also feel like it's a
- 59:13different time where people don't do a lot of approaching
- 59:16now. Yeah, people don't.
- 59:17Really do a lot of approaching. It's more prevalent.
- 59:19They send their friends. I hate when people my normal.
- 59:21That's like such a middle school thing.
- 59:22Don't send your friend to try to come talk to me.
- 59:24Really. I've I've never even had that.
- 59:26I'm like, then you got to play like a who's your friend and
- 59:29then you look and then like if you're not attracted, then you
- 59:32feel like kind. Of a Dick.
- 59:33Yeah. And then you're like, ah, one of
- 59:38those, yeah, yeah. It's like I'm OK.
- 59:44No, you don't pull that. I'm not interested.
- 59:47No, they're just fine. It's just fine.
- 59:49Yeah. Well, no, if it's if it's just
- 59:51fine, then I'd probably end up like talking to them because I
- 59:53felt bad. That's it's just fine, OK.
- 59:56I think, OK, there's a difference then so that just OK.
- 59:59Right. I feel like I don't.
- 1:00:01I mean. I had one of those that night at
- 1:00:04the coffee house where it was just fine.
- 1:00:07But you ended up talking to them, right?
- 1:00:08Like it's just fine. Like you could, yeah, talk to
- 1:00:11them. You don't.
- 1:00:11But. Yeah, but.
- 1:00:13You're like, hopefully they don't text back.
- 1:00:16Yeah, and she actually did not text back, which is fine.
- 1:00:19I wasn't. Which was fine.
- 1:00:20Which is perfect, you mean? Yeah, that's perfect.
- 1:00:22Yeah. Which was fine.
- 1:00:24Was you gave your number which was perfect.
- 1:00:27No, as she didn't reply, we didn't exchange numbers.
- 1:00:30She followed me on Instagram. Oh, OK.
- 1:00:34And then I was like, nice meeting you last night, and then
- 1:00:36nothing. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:00:38But yeah, that's fine. It's just perfect.
- 1:00:42Just perfect. It was just perfect.
- 1:00:45Yeah, I wasn't trying to go anywhere with that.
- 1:00:49Well, of course not. Yeah.
- 1:00:53Of course not. Of course, not on the
- 1:00:59application you weren't, but I had to fill out some
- 1:01:03applications recently for an event that we're trying to do
- 1:01:06and it asked me like are, are my marital status.
- 1:01:13And so I, and then like, I wasn't going to put it because I
- 1:01:15was like, this is fucking irrelevant for this application.
- 1:01:18It was a permit. And then, and then she asked me
- 1:01:22and I was like, I guess I have to fucking write it down.
- 1:01:24And then I had put Dusty's name too, because he's also part of
- 1:01:26the podcast. And so then I went to that part
- 1:01:29of the application. I put married for him.
- 1:01:31And then she was like, oh, well, if he's married, he had to put
- 1:01:33his spouse's information and I was like, he's single.
- 1:01:36Oh my God, no. And then she's like, oh.
- 1:01:40Nevermind they actually they got divorced.
- 1:01:42Yeah. Yeah, that was a tough, that was
- 1:01:45a tough winter actually. We're not going to talk about
- 1:01:47that. Yeah, and then and then she's
- 1:01:49like, she's like, wait, so is he not married?
- 1:01:51Or you know, like I'm, I'm right in front of the lady who's going
- 1:01:53to do the permit and I'm like, no, he's single.
- 1:01:56She's like, Are you sure? Because you can't.
- 1:01:58Like he's fucking single. We hate her.
- 1:02:03Yeah, I'm not filling more information out.
- 1:02:06You have enough, Yeah. Nah.
- 1:02:08How's the bitch? So part of filmmaking, though,
- 1:02:14Like, what would you say? Like if your life were a film,
- 1:02:16what genre would it be in right now?
- 1:02:19Give us a plot for your movie. Oh, oh, that's a good one.
- 1:02:25Yeah, you have. You have a piece of the chair on
- 1:02:28you there. They get it.
- 1:02:30Yes. OK, right here.
- 1:02:33Oh, I didn't get it. You got it now, OK, Sorry.
- 1:02:36What genre? Yes, or give us a plot for your
- 1:02:39film, for your life. I don't know if a good plot.
- 1:02:48Have you seen Marty Supreme? No, but you told me about it.
- 1:02:50Marty Supreme, but like good guy, hopefully like a guy that
- 1:02:53wants to win and does the right, you know, does the right things
- 1:02:56though. OK, you don't want to be the bad
- 1:02:57guy I. Don't want to be the bad guy, I
- 1:02:59want to be a guy that wins, that everyone wants to win.
- 1:03:03Yeah. I don't know a good like.
- 1:03:06What genre would it be? Me just be like a drama I guess.
- 1:03:12Hopefully not horror. Do you like horror films?
- 1:03:16I hate horror movies. Really I hate them.
- 1:03:19I don't know if it's just cuz they're like so like anxiety
- 1:03:21inducing, but honestly Marty Supreme was really anxiety
- 1:03:25inducing. Yeah like any like Safdie movies
- 1:03:28like Uncle gems was super anxiety inducing.
- 1:03:32But no, not a whore. I hate horror movies.
- 1:03:36I don't know why. Do you like horror movies?
- 1:03:38I can. I like them.
- 1:03:40I just, I don't like you're like, yeah, checks out.
- 1:03:44Figured. Yeah, you're like, makes sense.
- 1:03:47No, I can't do the demonic ones. Like if there's like a demon.
- 1:03:52OK, Just cuz like, it pulls on my, my religious side.
- 1:03:56Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:03:56I was raised Catholic, so I believe in that.
- 1:03:58And then I'm also Mexican, so we really believe in that.
- 1:04:00Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:04:00Right. Like the owls are witches, you
- 1:04:02know? And so.
- 1:04:04Yeah. No.
- 1:04:05Like so you can just you can do like jump scare type stuff.
- 1:04:07Yeah, I can do them. But not demonic, OK.
- 1:04:10Yeah, I can't. They really get to me.
- 1:04:12Yeah. But like some movies are like
- 1:04:14have just a really good plot, like a Hereditary.
- 1:04:16I think that one's a scary. Have you seen it?
- 1:04:19I don't think so, but isn't that based off of a book?
- 1:04:23Hereditary I. Don't know, is that the one with
- 1:04:25the girl? That gets the head chopped off.
- 1:04:28I don't remember. Maybe I'm thinking of something
- 1:04:30else. Is it?
- 1:04:31Hereditary. Yeah, cuz I'm thinking of with
- 1:04:34that English guy. He looks English.
- 1:04:38I can't think of his name though.
- 1:04:39I'm pretty sure it's Hereditary the movie.
- 1:04:44That one is super scary and it's kind of like about it is
- 1:04:50Hereditary. Yeah, who is the the main act?
- 1:04:54The main act Let me see His name is Alex Wolf.
- 1:04:56Alex Wolf? No, it's not.
- 1:04:58Toni Collette, Millie Shapiro, Gabriel Byrne and out.
- 1:05:04Oh, OK, Bechtel, I don't know if I've seen this, but I've seen
- 1:05:07this guy. Yes.
- 1:05:10And Peter Graham and a bunch of different stuff, I feel like.
- 1:05:12This movie, it is scary. I thought it was scary.
- 1:05:17It's very it's, it's like you would never watch it.
- 1:05:22I'm not saying I wouldn't watch it, I just.
- 1:05:23Don't want to ruin it. Oh no, you can ruin it if you
- 1:05:26want to. OK 'cause.
- 1:05:27I might have seen it to be fair, wasn't I don't, I don't.
- 1:05:30I'm. I'm probably thinking about
- 1:05:32something else. What are you doing?
- 1:05:33OK, It's kind of like culty. It's kind of a culty movie.
- 1:05:37And the daughter essentially was possessed by a demon her whole
- 1:05:43life, like, or there's only a moment where it's like she's
- 1:05:45not, but she looks like she was like she had some type of mental
- 1:05:49disorder. And anyways, it's it's really
- 1:05:53creepy and then it's just really creepy and it's scary.
- 1:05:57But the plot, the plot is so good because it like goes back
- 1:06:01to a lot of cult stuff. It's like very, like, there's
- 1:06:05like references to the Ouija board.
- 1:06:07I don't know. It's just the way that they made
- 1:06:09that plot was interesting because it was also mysterious.
- 1:06:11OK. You know, like, I like a good
- 1:06:13horror movie that's like Amityville Horror.
- 1:06:15That one's scary. Have you seen that?
- 1:06:17Yeah, I like, what is the? There's another one like Hugh
- 1:06:21Grant is in a. Heretic, that's what I was
- 1:06:24thinking. Of is that what you have pulled
- 1:06:26up right there? Yeah.
- 1:06:27Now that is. I like that movie.
- 1:06:29I'm not. It's just kind of like a
- 1:06:31thriller, like a like a mystery thriller, yeah.
- 1:06:34Or like, yeah, the basement. And like he, he says they're are
- 1:06:38they like Jehovah Witness people?
- 1:06:40Something like that, Yeah, they're coming over to.
- 1:06:42Like missionary people, like they go door to door and he
- 1:06:45pretty much, I don't want to run this for you, but he pretty much
- 1:06:47they can't go in unless there's like a wife present and he uses
- 1:06:51like he's like, oh, she's in there baking like a pie or
- 1:06:54whatever. So they can come in, come on in
- 1:06:56and then he brings out a pie. Wasn't there like drugs or
- 1:06:58something in the pie? I don't.
- 1:07:00Remember. Remember or like he just his
- 1:07:02house was like built for like lucky I.
- 1:07:04Think there wasn't any pie because they saw that there was
- 1:07:07candles that smelled like pie. Oh, that's what it was.
- 1:07:09That's what it was. He was like, oh, the pie smells
- 1:07:11so good. Like, we can't wait to try it.
- 1:07:12And then they looked down after things get weird and like the
- 1:07:14candle was like, like and. Then they realized that they
- 1:07:17can't leave. Oh, and then.
- 1:07:18And then when you feel it and you know as the.
- 1:07:20Watcher that is a that's a good movie.
- 1:07:22Like I would watch something like that.
- 1:07:24Yeah, and that's what I like. Yeah, it's like drama, mystery,
- 1:07:26thriller based. Not like I guess true horror of
- 1:07:30like jump scare, like slasher like.
- 1:07:32Yeah. And the demonic stuff.
- 1:07:34I really like the demonic stuff either.
- 1:07:35Yeah, I can't do it. I mean, although some of them
- 1:07:37have good plots. They get really weird.
- 1:07:39They get really that's the issue, though, is like, I just
- 1:07:41think that they're too scary. So like the exorcism of Emily
- 1:07:44Rose, you know, everyone like I was like obsessed with watching
- 1:07:47it or whatever. I could never watch it because
- 1:07:49I'd literally be so scared. But this one time I was at work,
- 1:07:52this was a couple years ago and I podcast, I was listening to a
- 1:07:57podcast of it because I'm thinking, Oh, I'm not I'm it's
- 1:08:00during the day. I'm not going to be super scared
- 1:08:02and I can go ahead and. Listen to this.
- 1:08:04And they're playing recordings. They have the recordings because
- 1:08:06this is also, I forgot what year this was, but they were only
- 1:08:09able to get the recordings. And so they like play the
- 1:08:11recordings of her and how she sounded and when possessed.
- 1:08:15And it's actually a really sad story with her family too.
- 1:08:19Like a doctor tells her that like the family that only a
- 1:08:23priest can help her. But then when under court, he
- 1:08:27denies that and then the family gets sued because they didn't
- 1:08:31give her proper care anyways. It's really crazy 'cause like, I
- 1:08:35don't know, I just can't imagine the family having to go through
- 1:08:37what they went through and then like getting sued and then all
- 1:08:40this other stuff. But they were playing the sounds
- 1:08:44and I thought, I can get through this.
- 1:08:45It's during the day. I can, like, hear it.
- 1:08:47It'll be fine. The whole day at work, I was
- 1:08:50like, nobody fucking talk to me. You're all possessed.
- 1:08:53Like I could not. I couldn't sleep for weeks.
- 1:08:56I couldn't do it. Yeah.
- 1:08:58So I get it. Yeah.
- 1:08:59Or like people like The Conjuring or.
- 1:09:02Yeah, I watched it drunk one time is not a good idea.
- 1:09:06Yeah. It's.
- 1:09:07Not a good idea either. So that.
- 1:09:08'D make it worse. Yeah, it was really.
- 1:09:10And I was. I don't.
- 1:09:11I make questionable choices sometimes.
- 1:09:14What? What scene are you currently in?
- 1:09:16What scene? Yeah.
- 1:09:19I mean, if this was like a coming of age movie, I feel like
- 1:09:21I'd be like. Coming of age.
- 1:09:23Yeah, I feel like this, this I would be in a coming of age
- 1:09:25movie and I feel like I'm at like that point where it's like
- 1:09:292, two to three more things happen and everyone's really
- 1:09:32happy for the character. Two to three really good things,
- 1:09:37or things that are character development.
- 1:09:39Yeah, like that the character development or like good things.
- 1:09:41Yeah. I mean, I, yeah, I guess I like,
- 1:09:45I'm categorizing those character development things as good
- 1:09:48things. OK, OK.
- 1:09:49Just normally put that out. Yeah, yeah, put that out, Yeah,
- 1:09:52yeah. Manifesting.
- 1:09:55Yeah, no, I think it would be a coming of age.
- 1:09:56I love coming of age movies. Like all childhood movies I ever
- 1:09:59watched, like all the two early 2000s movies were all just like
- 1:10:03coming of age movies. Like what?
- 1:10:05What movie? Like, I mean, any, like, sort of
- 1:10:07romance movie, OK. I think a lot of movies, like,
- 1:10:11for kids are like, maybe not kids.
- 1:10:13So like, just young minds are all, like, coming of age.
- 1:10:16Yeah. Because it's an easy story to
- 1:10:17tell. Yes, yeah, but everybody loves
- 1:10:20it too though. Yeah, everyone loves it.
- 1:10:21Everyone loves it too. You wanna root for someone and
- 1:10:23you relate to it though, because everyone like you could be in
- 1:10:26your 30s and you'll relate in your 40s.
- 1:10:28In your 50s, you're going to relate because you're like, I
- 1:10:30remember that. Exactly.
- 1:10:31Yeah, yeah, but you said your favorite movie was dazed and
- 1:10:34confused. Yes.
- 1:10:36Why is that? I don't know.
- 1:10:37Well, just growing up, my parents went to high school in
- 1:10:40the 1970s and they would always like kind of reminisce and talk
- 1:10:43about how it was and the way, like we watch that movie a lot
- 1:10:47because it's always on TV. And they would just kind of say
- 1:10:51like that movie, like really portrayed how their high school
- 1:10:54experience was. And I just thought that was
- 1:10:56really cool. And watching that as a kid with
- 1:10:58them made that stick. And then I really like Matthew
- 1:11:02McConaughey. So then when I started watching
- 1:11:04more Matthew McConaughey movies, listening to him and like
- 1:11:08learning that that was his first movie, it was really cool
- 1:11:11because you could see like a lot of his growth from there.
- 1:11:14Yeah, OK. Yeah, Angela's a good movie.
- 1:11:17Yeah, a lot of good music in it. I like 70's rock a lot and
- 1:11:23there's a lot of that in there, obviously.
- 1:11:24So are you a Spotify wrapped or Apple Music Spotify?
- 1:11:27Oh my God, I knew I liked you. I knew Apple Music.
- 1:11:31Yeah, you're smart. Apple Music is like the Android
- 1:11:34for Yeah, it is of music and people don't get that.
- 1:11:37Like some people don't get that. And I'm like, that's crazy that
- 1:11:40you don't understand that. No.
- 1:11:41Spotify is clears. Yeah, 100%.
- 1:11:43So what? So what age were you?
- 1:11:45Did I tell you? I was old really.
- 1:11:47I was like 71 I think or 70. I was opposite my son.
- 1:11:51I was 21. Really.
- 1:11:53Yeah. Wow, I know, but I listen to
- 1:11:55like so like a lot of my mornings I listen to like jazz.
- 1:11:58Oh, OK, so I guess probably that's why.
- 1:12:00OK, but I listen to like. Lofi.
- 1:12:02No, like actually like old, like jazz music.
- 1:12:04Oh, OK. Or like just old, like New York
- 1:12:0750s, sixties, 70s music you hear like stuff like that.
- 1:12:13Just like have a slow morning to get like in a creative space.
- 1:12:15I feel like it puts me into a creative, like relaxed space in
- 1:12:17the morning. And then I do listen like, a lot
- 1:12:21of rock and stuff. So I'll probably contributed to
- 1:12:23that as well, yeah. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:12:26I love those analytics. They're my favorite analytics.
- 1:12:29I look forward to that thing every year.
- 1:12:32Yeah, same. I feel like it really tells you
- 1:12:34a lot about a person. It does.
- 1:12:36I think, I guess I need to do more growing up, but we're going
- 1:12:44to switch to this thing that we do, which is called lightning
- 1:12:46ground. And I'm going to switch to my
- 1:12:47phone because I didn't write it all down on my thing.
- 1:12:50So lightning ground is where we're going to ask you
- 1:12:52questions. And you want to say kind of like
- 1:12:55what is off the top of your head kind of this is kind of like
- 1:13:01fast answers. OK, do you want to start or you
- 1:13:05want me to go? It's a movie that everyone loves
- 1:13:08that you think is overrated. Grown-ups.
- 1:13:13With the Adam Sandler and his whole crew.
- 1:13:17I think that whole group is a little overrated.
- 1:13:19The whole group just like that, that style.
- 1:13:22Yeah, I don't know. I like Adam Sandler but all that
- 1:13:27is just too much I feel like because it's all the same in
- 1:13:30every movie they're in. Oh yeah, yeah, kind of the same
- 1:13:33plot, yeah, they're. Repeating like their character's
- 1:13:35the same in every movie. Yeah.
- 1:13:36Do you know what I mean? Yeah, yeah.
- 1:13:37Yeah, you think that's probably why, like when he did like Uncut
- 1:13:40Gems and everybody's like, oh shit.
- 1:13:43He's a phenomenal actor in that. I think I feel like that there's
- 1:13:45got to be something to that. Like, that's why he wanted to,
- 1:13:48like, prove that. Yeah.
- 1:13:50But he's also like, I mean, I think he also doesn't have
- 1:13:53anything to prove because he is a phenomenal actor and a
- 1:13:55creative. But yeah, I think that whole
- 1:13:58group is a little overrated. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:14:01Fair. OK.
- 1:14:02Morning runs or night runs? Night.
- 1:14:05Night, night, all day of the week.
- 1:14:07Is it that fast? Yes.
- 1:14:08I yeah, I hate I can only do a morning run if I'm running with
- 1:14:11people. Wait, so are you a night person
- 1:14:13then? Yeah, Night Owl versus the.
- 1:14:15Morning. I mean, I can get up early and
- 1:14:16do like a lot of productive stuff in the morning, just not,
- 1:14:19I don't feel like I'm very physically ready yet.
- 1:14:21I think I used the full day to warm up, you know?
- 1:14:24But a lot of my runs are after like 10:00.
- 1:14:27Wow, they're like 1011, midnight, 1:00 AM.
- 1:14:29You're not afraid. To die.
- 1:14:32No, one time I ran from my house in Hayesville to Redbird, OH.
- 1:14:35My gosh. It was like 17 miles.
- 1:14:37Oh my shit, that's I think it was a Saturday night.
- 1:14:40Yeah, that's hella far. And I ran through like S Oliver.
- 1:14:43Like I ran from Hayesville to Derby, all the way up, all over
- 1:14:47by past, like Spirit and all that.
- 1:14:48And then you're like S Oliver. Yeah, wild it.
- 1:14:52Night though, like I feel like I can do anything at night.
- 1:14:54I don't know why. Night, night, night, night,
- 1:14:56night, night. You don't know where that's
- 1:14:58from. Night, night, night, night,
- 1:14:59night, night. No, it's SpongeBob.
- 1:15:02Oh, I. Don't even know that one.
- 1:15:03No, yeah, it's the episode where he's like the night, the hash
- 1:15:07slinging slasher. Yeah, yeah, OK.
- 1:15:09The rash. Yeah, yeah, I know that episode
- 1:15:10the. The slash ringing?
- 1:15:12Yes. The hash slinging slasher,
- 1:15:15Sorry. Yeah, I've seen that episode.
- 1:15:17I don't know why I didn't collect that.
- 1:15:18Yeah. O'clock, we really have a Gen.
- 1:15:21Z, you know. I feel like it's like more of
- 1:15:24it's coming out too. I don't know why.
- 1:15:25I think it's going to broadcast team.
- 1:15:26I don't know. Next question.
- 1:15:30Yeah, next question. It's one thing I thought this
- 1:15:33was. Lightning in.
- 1:15:33My bad, my bad. It's one thing you're currently
- 1:15:36procrastinating on. Incredibly procrastinating on
- 1:15:43getting fit for the Austin Half Marathon next month.
- 1:15:47Took way too many weeks off. Creative habit you wish you were
- 1:15:51better at. Journaling more consistently
- 1:15:59with my thoughts, like actually note taking yeah, because I have
- 1:16:03like a lot of ideas that run through my brain and like I'll
- 1:16:05just save stuff on Instagram or Pinterest and stuff, but I never
- 1:16:08like actually write down my individual original idea and
- 1:16:11then I just hope I remember it. I.
- 1:16:14Get that? I get that, yeah.
- 1:16:17It's your favorite drink order, alcoholic or not.
- 1:16:24Alcoholic I usually just get like a tequila soda with lime or
- 1:16:27tequila water. Because we're saving money.
- 1:16:30I just transactional, Yeah, transactional or at the course I
- 1:16:35like beer, non alcoholic Diet Coke.
- 1:16:39Oh. Yeah, what's up with the coke
- 1:16:41stuff? I don't know what's.
- 1:16:42Up with like I've seen you post so much coke stuff.
- 1:16:45What's up with the ciggies? Oh, those are just fun.
- 1:16:50There's no actual like like I haven't had one in a while.
- 1:16:53I can go months without them. They're just fun.
- 1:16:55Oh, you don't. You're.
- 1:16:56You don't. Honestly kind of performative if
- 1:16:57I'm being so furrow with you. Like I can go months without a
- 1:17:01cigarette. Really.
- 1:17:03Yeah, that's good. Like I don't Zen or vape or
- 1:17:05anything. That's good though.
- 1:17:07Yeah, cigarettes are more addicting.
- 1:17:09Are they? I feel like Zen would be way
- 1:17:11more. I don't like it.
- 1:17:12Or like a, that's what. The propaganda.
- 1:17:14Has on this. It depends on where you're at in
- 1:17:16your nicotine consumption. So is it cigarettes?
- 1:17:20More nicotine. Not necessarily.
- 1:17:24There's always like buzz though. It's like I'm the embodiment of
- 1:17:27like a drunk cig. You're the embodiment.
- 1:17:31Yeah, like I'm like, if you're someone that does drunk cigs,
- 1:17:33it's me. You know.
- 1:17:35What me No, that's. What I'm saying like, that's the
- 1:17:37only time I ever have them. Oh yeah, yeah.
- 1:17:39Yeah, alcohol and cigarettes go hand in hand, just like coffee
- 1:17:42and cigarettes. Oh yeah.
- 1:17:43That's what you were saying last time, yeah.
- 1:17:44What's up with the Diet Coke? I just like Diet Coke.
- 1:17:47Well, I liked Coke and they're like, I asked with too much
- 1:17:49sugar. And so now it's diet.
- 1:17:51Oh, we're. Talking about soda, OK.
- 1:17:54Oh, what? Oh yeah, no coke.
- 1:17:56No coke. OK, one belief you've recently
- 1:18:01let go of. That you have to do everything
- 1:18:05for it to be right. Yeah.
- 1:18:10Yeah, I agree. All right.
- 1:18:13Last question. What is one word for the
- 1:18:16community that you're building? It's one word that you have for
- 1:18:22them. Diverse.
- 1:18:27I want my like the community that we're building to be open
- 1:18:32and accessible to anyone that thinks they have a place in it.
- 1:18:36And I feel like that is true still, but I have a lot of
- 1:18:40people, you know, like, obviously to hit me up like,
- 1:18:43hey, we're scared to do this. We've never run.
- 1:18:46Or like you guys all look very tight knit, like the friend
- 1:18:49group that you guys post consistently.
- 1:18:50Like I don't think I would fit in and like kind of be further
- 1:18:53from the truth. So I think diverse.
- 1:18:56Yeah, I love that. Well, now we've heard a little
- 1:18:59bit about you, your stories, your interests.
- 1:19:02Tell us and our listeners where we can hear, where we can find
- 1:19:05you and support you. My personal Instagram is at it's
- 1:19:10Coke under score 3. I thought you said no coke.
- 1:19:13No kidding. So that is actually my ad name I
- 1:19:15made freshman year of high school because it was like
- 1:19:19iPhone used to auto correct my name to Coke.
- 1:19:21So there's no correlation to the beverages, but everyone thinks
- 1:19:24it does have one. So I just it's funny.
- 1:19:27And then the run club is at F88 run club on Instagram.
- 1:19:31And then we have a Facebook page too.
- 1:19:33And then my film stuff is 1488 films on Instagram.
- 1:19:37Love it. So with that I'm out, but pariva
- 1:19:42parajo pasentro, you do know Spanish E padentro?
