- 0:00Speaker 1: Now, Ron Verb on NewsRadio 570 WKBN. Testing 1, 2, 3. Hey,
- 0:07Speaker 1: everything still works on a Tuesday afternoon. And good afternoon,
- 0:11Speaker 1: Ron Verb, NewsRadio 570 WKBN. After a couple days off,
- 0:16Speaker 1: off Friday and Monday, and back in the saddle again
- 0:21Speaker 1: here on a Tuesday. It's already August. August 4th already.
- 0:25Speaker 1: What is it, 88 degrees? Pleasant day out there today.
- 0:28Speaker 1: 88 degrees, August 4th, Tuesday. We're on Verb News Radio,
- 0:31Speaker 1: 570 WQEN. Pleasure to be with you here this afternoon.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Have they changed the phone numbers? No, they still remain
- 0:37Speaker 1: the same.
- 0:38Speaker 2: 330-729-9977.
- 0:38Speaker 3: 330-729-9977. 330-729-9977.
- 0:38Speaker 1: We'll get you through to us. here on News Radio
- 0:51Speaker 1: 570 WKN, and we can conversate. Would you like to conversate?
- 0:55Speaker 1: I understand this is a first-time caller on the end
- 0:57Speaker 1: of my line. Hello?
- 0:58Speaker 4: Ronald.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Oh, first-time caller, yes.
- 1:01Speaker 4: First-time caller.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Long-time listener.
- 1:03Speaker 4: Long-time listener. Do I get a bell?
- 1:07Speaker 1: Wait a minute. You know, normally, yes, but sometimes a
- 1:10Speaker 1: cleaning lady moves it here in the studio and I
- 1:12Speaker 1: can never find it. Oh, first-time caller, long-time listener. I'll
- 1:18Speaker 1: call you Ted the Conservative. How's that sound? Okay.
- 1:21Speaker 4: That sounds pretty good. That sounds pretty good. I know
- 1:24Speaker 4: it's probably hard for you getting readjusted there today. You've
- 1:27Speaker 4: been gone, and I don't think you realize the effect
- 1:30Speaker 4: that has on our lives. I mean, it's total disruption
- 1:33Speaker 4: when you're not on the air.
- 1:35Speaker 1: I tell you, total disruption. Okay, I'll go with that. No,
- 1:40Speaker 1: it was nice.
- 1:41Speaker 4: I mean, I was driving home from New Jersey Friday.
- 1:43Speaker 4: I put the radio on thinking, okay, I'm going to
- 1:46Speaker 4: get three hours out of Ron, and it'll get me
- 1:48Speaker 4: halfway home. Next thing I know, Sean Hannity comes on.
- 1:51Speaker 4: I'm like, oh, no. What are we going to do?
- 1:55Speaker 4: And then yesterday we were left with a big void.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:59Speaker 4: And there wasn't baseball on, so I had to make do.
- 2:03Speaker 4: It was difficult. I'm sure others are struggling, you know,
- 2:06Speaker 4: having the same struggle. So we're glad to have you back.
- 2:10Speaker 4: It's the heat of election season now. We're 90 days
- 2:14Speaker 4: away probably. What do you think? I don't know, 90 days,
- 2:16Speaker 4: give or take?
- 2:19Speaker 1: Yeah, I think so. August, September, October, November.
- 2:24Speaker 4: And, you know, I remember a time when local politics
- 2:28Speaker 4: were a big issue on WKBN radio. We sometimes get
- 2:31Speaker 4: distracted with the noise coming out of Columbus. So I'll
- 2:35Speaker 4: take this quick minute. You know, it is election season.
- 2:39Speaker 4: And you know what they say, all politics are local.
- 2:41Speaker 4: Local constituents tend to care more about the things that
- 2:44Speaker 4: affect them directly. What is that? Property taxes? Police?
- 2:48Speaker 1: Fire?
- 2:49Speaker 4: Schools? communities, right? Those are all the things that matter.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Yes.
- 2:54Speaker 4: And not only that, but voting for people who think
- 2:58Speaker 4: we know best, the voter, not that they know best
- 3:01Speaker 4: how to spend our money.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Yes.
- 3:03Speaker 4: And it just so happens tonight that Christine Oliver, Republican
- 3:08Speaker 4: candidate for Mahoning County Commissioner, is going to have a
- 3:12Speaker 4: meet and greet at the Republican headquarters at 630. It's
- 3:15Speaker 4: not a fundraiser. You don't have to worry about going
- 3:17Speaker 4: there and giving them your money. But you can show up.
- 3:20Speaker 4: You can meet them. You can talk to the candidate.
- 3:24Speaker 4: Maybe G2, if he's in the area, would stop by.
- 3:27Speaker 4: Maybe we can get Rich out there since Rich was
- 3:29Speaker 4: really misinformed in the last primary. He voted for the
- 3:33Speaker 4: guy that wanted to raise taxes. He voted for the
- 3:36Speaker 4: guy that thought he knew best how to spend Rich's money. Yes, yes.
- 3:39Speaker 4: That still was a surprise to me.
- 3:40Speaker 1: Yes.
- 3:41Speaker 4: I know JJ's turned a loon. Maybe he can come
- 3:45Speaker 4: out and meet Christine tonight.
- 3:47Speaker 1: J.J. the Trumpster. Yeah, now that he's switched from J.J.
- 3:50Speaker 1: the liberal.
- 3:51Speaker 4: Yeah, and he's famous. I saw him on TV. He's
- 3:54Speaker 4: famous now. I don't know if J.J. knows that.
- 3:56Speaker 1: That was not him. I'm telling you. I've done... That
- 3:58Speaker 1: was not him.
- 4:00Speaker 4: That was not him? No. Okay. It sounded like him.
- 4:04Speaker 4: It sounded like when he was... No, no, no. I
- 4:06Speaker 4: don't know.
- 4:07Speaker 1: I can tell you. I can... I visually can identify J.J. J.J., the... Trumpster, formerly..
- 4:13Speaker 4: That guy was too big to be J.J., huh? Yeah.
- 4:16Speaker 3: J.J.
- 4:16Speaker 5: 's more like..
- 4:17Speaker 1: Yeah, J.J. the liberal. Let's see. J.J. the Trumpster, formerly
- 4:21Speaker 1: known as J.J. the liberal. Yeah, he's like Prince. I
- 4:24Speaker 1: got to do the whole name.
- 4:26Speaker 3: Okay.
- 4:26Speaker 1: It's tough.
- 4:27Speaker 4: Okay, well, you know, he's turning a new leaf. I'm
- 4:29Speaker 4: sure he's real happy today with things that are going
- 4:31Speaker 4: on in the world. I don't know. Probably not.
- 4:33Speaker 1: Yeah, but how come... I just went by my gas station,
- 4:37Speaker 1: and it's either 415 or 420. I got sticker shock.
- 4:42Speaker 3: Boy, oh, boy.
- 4:43Speaker 4: I've got to get you off of that subject. That's
- 4:48Speaker 4: my goal.
- 4:48Speaker 1: I can't.
- 4:49Speaker 4: You're looking at that glass like it's half empty.
- 4:54Speaker 1: But when I stop at the light here as I
- 4:58Speaker 1: come to the studio, South Avenue and 224, there's the
- 5:03Speaker 1: gas station. And, of course, it's a long light, so
- 5:05Speaker 1: I look at the price. So I can tell you,
- 5:07Speaker 1: I think it's $ 4. 15 the price, but I've seen it
- 5:10Speaker 1: at other gas stations at $ 4. 20 as I'm driving here
- 5:13Speaker 1: into our Boardman Studios. And I just shake my head
- 5:17Speaker 1: and I say, okay, that's not good. I'm not happy
- 5:21Speaker 1: about that.
- 5:22Speaker 3: I agree.
- 5:25Speaker 4: But sometimes, you know, we have to do things and
- 5:28Speaker 4: there's a price tag associated with that. I wasn't going
- 5:31Speaker 4: to go into that today, but I'll inform you of
- 5:33Speaker 4: some things I learned over the last week. When you're raw.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Yes.
- 5:38Speaker 4: I did want to talk about local issues.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Because I think that's important. We'll start with the local
- 5:45Speaker 1: issues because I think there are many important local issues
- 5:48Speaker 1: and candidates that are coming up. And as I say,
- 5:51Speaker 1: I'm not a very optimistic guy on a lot of
- 5:54Speaker 1: local stuff because we have got to get away from this.
- 5:58Speaker 1: I've said it before I left. I said, can you
- 6:00Speaker 1: imagine living in Canfield? If you're living in Canfield, once again,
- 6:03Speaker 1: and you're facing this monumental school levy and the MRDD levy.
- 6:08Speaker 1: I mean, both of them significant levies. If one passes,
- 6:12Speaker 1: it sucks. If both of them pass, it really sucks.
- 6:16Speaker 1: If you're in Canfield. I mean, if both of those
- 6:19Speaker 1: would pass, what a burden it would put on the taxpayers,
- 6:23Speaker 1: certainly in Canfield. Two huge levies in addition to the reappraisals.
- 6:29Speaker 1: I mean, and I feel like I know how.
- 6:31Speaker 4: Many boards have voted not to take these increases at
- 6:34Speaker 4: which has been thought.
- 6:35Speaker 1: I don't know. We'll have to check with him. But
- 6:38Speaker 1: but I look at this and I say to myself,
- 6:40Speaker 1: do you think. Any of these people know the damage
- 6:44Speaker 1: that they're doing? And I answer my own questions. I
- 6:47Speaker 1: don't know if you know this, but a lot of
- 6:48Speaker 1: times I talk to myself. Is that a problem? No,
- 6:51Speaker 1: I do the same thing.
- 6:53Speaker 4: I think it's something that married men have to do
- 6:55Speaker 4: in order to maintain our sanity.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Yes.
- 6:58Speaker 4: You can only be told no so many times, right?
- 7:01Speaker 4: You can only be told yes. You don't want to
- 7:03Speaker 4: be told, hey, Einstein, so many times. Yes. You just
- 7:05Speaker 4: finally stop talking to them and you just talk to
- 7:06Speaker 4: yourself and everything works out great.
- 7:08Speaker 1: And I just say..
- 7:09Speaker 4: You're always right.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Do I think that any of these local political figures
- 7:13Speaker 1: get it? My answer is no. I don't think they
- 7:17Speaker 1: get it. Now, I'm going to try... I'm going to
- 7:20Speaker 1: get on the program. Not today. I'll just tip my
- 7:23Speaker 1: hands here because... Uh-oh. Uh-oh. Where is it? So many people..
- 7:28Speaker 4: Tipping his cards.
- 7:29Speaker 1: I'm tipping my cards.
- 7:30Speaker 4: I mean..
- 7:32Speaker 1: You come back in a good mood.
- 7:34Speaker 4: You get some rest, and you come back, and you're re-energized.
- 7:38Speaker 1: Well, that's right. I was visiting my daughter in Florida,
- 7:42Speaker 1: so it was very nice.
- 7:43Speaker 4: You went down to Florida, huh?
- 7:46Speaker 1: Yes, I was in the sunshine states. I said, are
- 7:49Speaker 1: you Ron DeSantis? I kept walking around.
- 7:52Speaker 4: Hey, you should have called him and told him, you know,
- 7:57Speaker 4: you could have did a bit for the program. You
- 8:00Speaker 4: could have recorded him.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I think I'm going to get on. Let me
- 8:04Speaker 1: see here. I'm going to get this plush neck on
- 8:09Speaker 1: because Lake County Commissioner wants to. Retire property taxes for seniors.
- 8:16Speaker 1: I want to talk to him about that. I want
- 8:18Speaker 1: to see what he has to say. Not going to
- 8:19Speaker 1: be today, but I've got to get him back on
- 8:21Speaker 1: the air. Listen, I think it's ridiculous what's happening when
- 8:26Speaker 1: you talk local politics, what's happening in this area with
- 8:30Speaker 1: the re-evaluations and with those two levies if you live
- 8:33Speaker 1: in Canfield. I mean, I hate to say this, I
- 8:35Speaker 1: feel sorry for you folks in Canfield if one or
- 8:38Speaker 1: both of those levies pass. it will significantly alter your
- 8:43Speaker 1: lifestyle because you can't have those two levies pass and
- 8:48Speaker 1: the re-evaluations and not notice it in your household income.
- 8:52Speaker 1: It is absolute insanity. But that's me. What local issues
- 8:56Speaker 1: would you like to discuss?
- 8:57Speaker 4: Well, there's so many things. I agree with you on everything.
- 9:00Speaker 4: But like you said, it's so important for the voter
- 9:02Speaker 4: to be educated. And I'll stick with Christine. We've got
- 9:06Speaker 4: a candidate here– running as a Democrat who thinks that she,
- 9:12Speaker 4: you should never have any of your money to spend.
- 9:14Speaker 4: She knows best how to spend it. And she, I mean, she,
- 9:17Speaker 4: along with your great township trustee over there in Austin town,
- 9:22Speaker 4: went and cried in front of the county commissioners when
- 9:26Speaker 4: they decided to give the people some of their money back.
- 9:29Speaker 4: So we've got a candidate in Christine Oliver who thinks
- 9:32Speaker 4: you know best how to spend your money. She wants
- 9:33Speaker 4: to reduce your taxes. And then we've got this other
- 9:36Speaker 4: woman over here who's become A life who wants to
- 9:39Speaker 4: make a career out of politics. She wants to make
- 9:41Speaker 4: a career out of spending your money.
- 9:43Speaker 1: Right.
- 9:43Speaker 4: And taking your money because, you know, there's never enough.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Well, she's a Democrat. She thinks she's a Democrat. She
- 9:49Speaker 1: thinks everybody's problems are your problems as opposed to, you know,
- 9:54Speaker 1: don't make your problems my problems.
- 9:57Speaker 4: Exactly. So little pivots.
- 10:00Speaker 3: Yes.
- 10:00Speaker 4: There's so much we have to talk about. Little pivot.
- 10:03Speaker 4: Last week, you've been crying for the last two weeks.
- 10:06Speaker 4: Maybe I'll focus on last week. You and Frank had
- 10:08Speaker 4: a little pity party about the stock market, the price
- 10:11Speaker 4: of oil going up. I'm wondering what you think of
- 10:14Speaker 4: the stock market today and the price of oil coming down.
- 10:17Speaker 1: Uh, I have, I, I'm going to tell you when.
- 10:20Speaker 4: It's, when it's good, you're quiet. So we need to
- 10:24Speaker 4: change that. We need you to champion the market when
- 10:26Speaker 4: it's good.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Well, I listen, I gotta be straightforward with you. You
- 10:30Speaker 1: understand that. I mean, I, I always do.
- 10:32Speaker 4: I mean, you are wrong. Right.
- 10:35Speaker 1: As a matter of fact, I want to read something
- 10:36Speaker 1: to you and then I'll be straightforward with.
- 10:39Speaker 4: Because the market is on fire today, and I'm sure
- 10:42Speaker 4: Frank will call and tell us it's just a cloud,
- 10:47Speaker 4: it's just a mirage. But Frank's the same guy that
- 10:49Speaker 4: told us when the market was down 1%, not even 1%,
- 10:51Speaker 4: half the time it was crashing. So I'm not sure
- 10:54Speaker 4: what Frank.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Will make out of this.
- 10:55Speaker 4: I hope he's making lots of money so he can
- 10:58Speaker 4: take care of it.
- 10:58Speaker 1: I haven't read the article yet, but I'm just going
- 11:00Speaker 1: to read you the email I received from someone. America,
- 11:03Speaker 1: it's Wall Street Journal. America is great at creating stock
- 11:06Speaker 1: market bubbles and then shrugging them off. And the guy
- 11:11Speaker 1: who emailed it to me said, the last paragraph in
- 11:13Speaker 1: this excellent article is what we need to worry about
- 11:16Speaker 1: since it could easily be a catalyst for the next
- 11:18Speaker 1: Great Depression. So much money is being borrowed to finance
- 11:22Speaker 1: AI that if AI story doesn't work out perfectly and
- 11:26Speaker 1: a pullback in those stocks happens, you are going to
- 11:29Speaker 1: see a major market losses. Investments financed by large sums
- 11:33Speaker 1: of borrowed money have never ended well. railroads in the 1880s,
- 11:38Speaker 1: entire decade of the 1920s, as Americans bought piles of
- 11:42Speaker 1: stock on margin, dot-com bubble in the 2008 housing crisis,
- 11:48Speaker 1: all built on borrowed money. Problem now is that $ 40
- 11:51Speaker 1: trillion national debt leaves federal governments with almost no financial
- 11:56Speaker 1: dry powder available to buy the country out of the
- 11:58Speaker 1: next big downturn. I honestly think the world is in
- 12:01Speaker 1: for a great financial shock. And it scares the hell
- 12:04Speaker 1: out of me at my age. I'm not going to
- 12:06Speaker 1: tell you who emailed that to me, but it was
- 12:07Speaker 1: emailed to me. And you asked me about the stock
- 12:11Speaker 1: markets and about oil prices. And listen, I hope I'm
- 12:17Speaker 1: wrong and I hope your optimism is correct. I start
- 12:20Speaker 1: with that. I am not optimistic when I look at
- 12:22Speaker 1: the fundamentals of the economy as a whole. And I
- 12:28Speaker 1: say that because just hear me out. I'm a broken record.
- 12:31Speaker 1: Inflation is tremendous out there. The cost of homes, the
- 12:35Speaker 1: cost of buying an automobile or a car, truck, SUV
- 12:39Speaker 1: or leasing, the cost of rent, the cost of insurance, food,
- 12:46Speaker 1: any type of repair you need. I don't care if
- 12:48Speaker 1: it's any type of repair, car repair, furnace repair, roof repair.
- 12:53Speaker 1: Anything that you look at, anywhere you go, you see
- 12:56Speaker 1: double-digit inflation. So when you brag about the economy, I
- 13:00Speaker 1: start with that. I don't believe anybody's income has kept
- 13:03Speaker 1: up with the inflation that's out there. As a matter
- 13:06Speaker 1: of fact, I just saw yesterday, do you know how
- 13:12Speaker 1: many people are laid on property taxes in the state
- 13:14Speaker 1: of Ohio? 570,000 people. What percentage does that represent? I'm
- 13:22Speaker 1: not sure, but the number is way up. And it's
- 13:25Speaker 1: interesting that it continues to go up as the re-evaluations
- 13:29Speaker 1: continue to happen. That's 570,000 people. And I'm trying to
- 13:33Speaker 1: get it broken down by county by county, just so
- 13:37Speaker 1: you can do it. I think in Franklin County, it
- 13:39Speaker 1: was 53,000. It's huge numbers. So property taxes have gone
- 13:47Speaker 1: way up. So you're asking me this and I go
- 13:50Speaker 1: back to say people only got so much money. Here's
- 13:53Speaker 1: how much money you make. And I mean, it's real simple.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Here's how much you make. Everything costs more. So you
- 14:00Speaker 1: either buy less or you go in debt. So you
- 14:04Speaker 1: ask me these questions. And so I take a look
- 14:06Speaker 1: at stuff. People are starting to tap into their 401ks.
- 14:10Speaker 1: We see credit card debts increase. We're seeing credit card
- 14:14Speaker 1: defaults increase. Foreclosures increase. Property tax delinquencies that are taking place.
- 14:23Speaker 1: And energy prices continue to go up. And also, the
- 14:27Speaker 1: futures market means very little to me. Because as I've
- 14:30Speaker 1: learned from these oil experts, I don't want to say
- 14:33Speaker 1: that it's almost a BS number. Because they say, well,
- 14:36Speaker 1: you wait and see if you can buy oil at
- 14:38Speaker 1: that price. Because I'll go with what they're telling me,
- 14:42Speaker 1: that the oil situation is still a mess today and
- 14:46Speaker 1: continues to be a mess as far as shortages are concerned.
- 14:50Speaker 1: Because we tap the reserves. Real shortages. And that's why
- 14:54Speaker 1: you're seeing $ 4. 20 a gallon as we get into August.
- 14:57Speaker 1: And they're saying this could get worse as time goes on,
- 15:01Speaker 1: depending what happens in Iran. And even if that situation
- 15:04Speaker 1: gets settled, more than likely it won't be like it
- 15:07Speaker 1: used to be. So it's going to create issues. So
- 15:12Speaker 1: I'm not optimistic about anything economically speaking. I don't think
- 15:17Speaker 1: there's any good economic signs right now. And the market,
- 15:21Speaker 1: the swings are too extreme. They're way up and they're
- 15:26Speaker 1: way down. And they're driven by where tariffs are on,
- 15:29Speaker 1: tariffs are off. War is on, war is off. Well,
- 15:32Speaker 1: war could be back on. And I think there's a
- 15:35Speaker 1: lot of people making a lot of money off of that.
- 15:37Speaker 1: So I'm not optimistic. I don't think there's anything optimistic
- 15:41Speaker 1: out there, economically speaking. Now, it's your turn after the break. Yeah,
- 15:46Speaker 1: you decipher that. But, I mean, you just got to
- 15:48Speaker 1: think of that. And I think that that applies to
- 15:51Speaker 1: a huge number of people. It's not just the lower
- 15:55Speaker 1: class or the low middle class. I think it applies
- 15:57Speaker 1: to a lot of people. Back with his response and
- 15:59Speaker 1: more of your calls straight ahead. Well, I've told you
- 16:05Speaker 1: many times, not all... 70 WKBN. Back to it, NewsRadio
- 16:10Speaker 1: 570 WKBN. All right, your thoughts, Ted, to conservatives.
- 16:14Speaker 4: My response, well, first-time caller, I have listened for a
- 16:18Speaker 4: long time, so without debating you, I would just simply
- 16:22Speaker 4: say that you have given, you've laid out the perfect
- 16:27Speaker 4: explanation as to why you don't vote for Democrats. And
- 16:32Speaker 4: I'm not saying but... But I'm not saying that. I'm
- 16:35Speaker 4: saying spatially, look at numbers. Go back for the last
- 16:39Speaker 4: eight years, if you want. There's one president that's responsible
- 16:44Speaker 4: for where we're at today. And those effects, when inflation
- 16:49Speaker 4: got to 9%, I felt like I was one of
- 16:52Speaker 4: the only people screaming from the rooftops. All of my
- 16:56Speaker 4: liberal friends told me, oh, it's transitory. It's no big deal.
- 16:58Speaker 4: It won't have an effect on anything. I said, you
- 17:01Speaker 4: guys are nuts. I said it's common sense. This is
- 17:04Speaker 4: going to wreck the economy for the next 20 years,
- 17:07Speaker 4: and that's what we're seeing happen. It's not because of
- 17:10Speaker 4: Donald Trump's policies. Now, CPI is up because we're at war.
- 17:14Speaker 4: You could debate the war. You don't have to like
- 17:16Speaker 4: the war, but we are at war. You know the
- 17:17Speaker 4: old saying, you are where your feet are? We are
- 17:19Speaker 4: at war, okay? So you look at core inflation. Core
- 17:23Speaker 4: inflation is not bad. G2 tried explaining last week, and
- 17:27Speaker 4: you didn't want to hear it, so I'm not going
- 17:28Speaker 4: to try to explain it because I don't want you
- 17:30Speaker 4: yelling at me. You got pretty aggressive with G2, and
- 17:33Speaker 4: I don't want to ruin your day first day back
- 17:35Speaker 4: from Florida. I want you to be happy.
- 17:37Speaker 1: Well, no, don't believe me. I'm happy. But here's the problem.
- 17:42Speaker 4: You..
- 17:44Speaker 1: You can't sit there. We can't undo what happened. I
- 17:48Speaker 1: understand it, but we're adding on top of it. The
- 17:51Speaker 1: problem is you're falling in the same category. No, I'm not.
- 17:55Speaker 4: I'm not saying everything's perfect.
- 17:57Speaker 1: No, but you're falling into denial.
- 17:59Speaker 4: I'm simply saying.
- 18:00Speaker 1: Just hear me for one second. You're falling into denial
- 18:03Speaker 1: like the Democrats when they didn't understand why everybody didn't
- 18:07Speaker 1: think everything was great when it was horrible with Joe Biden.
- 18:11Speaker 1: They didn't get it. They just were in this bubble.
- 18:13Speaker 1: And I don't want to see you falling into that
- 18:15Speaker 1: same bubble because the reality is things are continuing to
- 18:20Speaker 1: go up on top of that. I mean, I would
- 18:23Speaker 1: just say to you, think, think.
- 18:24Speaker 4: Of, think of how much I would never fall into
- 18:26Speaker 4: that bubble. All right.
- 18:28Speaker 1: But that is solely as a result of Trump in
- 18:32Speaker 1: this war with Iran. And I go back to say,
- 18:36Speaker 1: look at how things were before it.
- 18:38Speaker 4: All right. Okay. I'm not saying any of those things
- 18:43Speaker 4: you said. I agree. We're in hard times. People are struggling.
- 18:47Speaker 4: It's expensive to live. Don't disagree with any of that.
- 18:50Speaker 4: But what I'm saying is, look at history. If you
- 18:55Speaker 4: don't know the history of anything, you're in big trouble.
- 18:59Speaker 4: You don't know how you got to where you are today.
- 19:02Speaker 4: You're going to make the same mistakes you made 10, 12,
- 19:03Speaker 4: 20 years ago. Right.
- 19:06Speaker 1: I get that.
- 19:07Speaker 4: People are attacking the Jews. They've been under persecution since
- 19:12Speaker 4: the Romans came in and pushed them out of Jerusalem,
- 19:15Speaker 4: you know, 2,000 years ago. So if you don't know
- 19:18Speaker 4: the history of the Jews, you can't understand what's happening
- 19:21Speaker 4: in Israel today. You can't comprehend Palestine because you're just
- 19:25Speaker 4: too dumb, to be honest with you. And it translates
- 19:28Speaker 4: to the economy. If you don't know how you got
- 19:30Speaker 4: where you are today, you're just a dumb person. I'm
- 19:33Speaker 4: not saying a great economy is great. But if you
- 19:35Speaker 4: don't know how you got to where you are, you
- 19:38Speaker 4: are in big trouble because you will repeat the same
- 19:40Speaker 4: mistakes that got you where you are. And we're hearing that,
- 19:43Speaker 4: and I'm seeing that with so many uneducated, dumb people,
- 19:48Speaker 4: to be very point blank and honest with you. you
- 19:50Speaker 4: know they want to go back to electing the people
- 19:52Speaker 4: who created the policies that got us here it wasn't
- 19:56Speaker 4: donald trump that got us here was a democrat donald
- 19:59Speaker 4: trump's inflation was really well up until he went to
- 20:02Speaker 4: war And we've seen a price in fuel increase that's
- 20:07Speaker 4: affected CPI. But core inflation, there's good numbers out there.
- 20:10Speaker 4: You just don't want to admit it. And that's okay
- 20:13Speaker 4: because you're looking at the glass half empty. I got it.
- 20:16Speaker 4: I'm looking at it half full. We're looking at it
- 20:18Speaker 4: through two different lens. All I'm trying to say is
- 20:21Speaker 4: if you don't know how you got to where you are,
- 20:23Speaker 4: you're in big trouble because you're going to make the
- 20:24Speaker 4: same mistakes. And I'll give you a shovel. Dig the
- 20:28Speaker 4: hole deeper. That's basically what you're doing. You know, you
- 20:32Speaker 4: talk a lot about this war. What do you think
- 20:35Speaker 4: of Senator John Kennedy from Louisiana? Let me ask you
- 20:38Speaker 4: that question first.
- 20:40Speaker 1: I think he's comical.
- 20:42Speaker 4: Comical. Do you think he's educated? Do you think he's honest?
- 20:45Speaker 4: Do you think he's a smart guy? I think he's
- 20:47Speaker 4: a law professor.
- 20:49Speaker 1: I think he's all of those things.
- 20:52Speaker 4: Okay, so let me inform you and your listeners a
- 20:54Speaker 4: little about something, because you guys keep thinking... Trump's in
- 20:57Speaker 4: this war because of Netanyahu. And that's ridiculous, number one.
- 21:01Speaker 4: And number two, the people that like to talk about
- 21:04Speaker 4: the Zionists don't know the struggles of the Jewish people.
- 21:07Speaker 4: Go back 2,000 years. But anyway, John, I listened to
- 21:11Speaker 4: Kennedy talk while I was driving home from New Jersey
- 21:13Speaker 4: last week. Prior to the war, there was a meeting
- 21:17Speaker 4: in the skiff. You know what the skiff is, right?
- 21:19Speaker 4: Underneath the Senate. Stand by.
- 21:21Speaker 1: Stand by. I'll wrap it up with Ted after the
- 21:23Speaker 1: break and take more of your calls. News Radio 570 WKVN.
- 21:27Speaker 2: A man from the Cincinnati suburb of Delhi Township is
- 21:33Speaker 2: facing charges in Butler County for sex crimes against children.
- 21:36Speaker 2: Kendrick Daniels is being charged on eight counts of rape.
- 21:40Speaker 2: No other details have been made available so far. Police
- 21:43Speaker 2: in Stark County are still looking for a teenager that's
- 21:45Speaker 2: been missing since Friday and is without his medication. Hillsendale's
- 21:49Speaker 2: Village Police say 17-year-old Cameron Kaiser's car was found abandoned
- 21:54Speaker 2: in Akron. Kaiser is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall,
- 21:57Speaker 2: weighing 178 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair. Anyone
- 22:01Speaker 2: with information as to his whereabouts is asked to contact police.
- 22:06Speaker 2: The Cleveland Guardians and the Cincinnati Reds were trading partners
- 22:09Speaker 2: yesterday ahead of the MLB trade deadline. Cincinnati picked up
- 22:12Speaker 2: pitcher Alejandro Rivera and infielder Juan Brito from Cleveland, and
- 22:16Speaker 2: the Guardians acquired first baseman Nathaniel Lowe.
- 22:20Speaker 1: I'm Andy Betts. Listen on the free iHeartRadio app for
- 22:23Speaker 1: all your music, news, talk, and sports radio. Podcast 2.

- 22:31Speaker 1: Z dependable service.
- 22:32Speaker 3: On verb.
- 22:34Speaker 1: On NewsRadio 570. WKBN. All right.
- 22:39Speaker 4: Okay, real quick, and before you hang up on me,
- 22:42Speaker 4: let me get this out real quick. I want J.J.
- 22:44Speaker 4: to show up at 6.30 at the Republican headquarters to
- 22:48Speaker 4: meet him, and I want him to meet Christine Oliver.
- 22:50Speaker 4: So at 6.30, I'll be looking for J.J. Now, Senator Kennedy,
- 22:54Speaker 4: I'll make this real quick because I'm sure you've got
- 22:55Speaker 4: a lot of callers. He was asked basically, do you
- 22:59Speaker 4: support this war and why? Okay. He said yes. He says,
- 23:03Speaker 4: I can share some information with you, some of it's classified.
- 23:06Speaker 4: Had a meeting in the SCIFS. before all this started.
- 23:10Speaker 4: So Senate was informed, even though the Democrats will tell
- 23:13Speaker 4: you they weren't. They were given and shown intelligence by
- 23:17Speaker 4: the top military brass, top officers of the CIA, and
- 23:23Speaker 4: many other people. And basically what was about to happen
- 23:26Speaker 4: was Iran was getting ready to make a statement to
- 23:30Speaker 4: the world that they were beginning, they were going to
- 23:33Speaker 4: begin back with their nuclear programs, to weaponize these missiles
- 23:38Speaker 4: and that even though they said they didn't, we're going
- 23:42Speaker 4: to admit we lied to you. We have missiles that
- 23:45Speaker 4: could hit France, Poland, Germany, and the U.K. And if
- 23:50Speaker 4: anyone tries to get in our way, we will shoot
- 23:52Speaker 4: these ballistic missiles at you. So it's based on that
- 23:55Speaker 4: intelligence that they were that close to make this announcement
- 23:59Speaker 4: that we stepped in and did what we did and
- 24:01Speaker 4: start taking out all these missile batteries. And Kennedy said,
- 24:05Speaker 4: if we did not do this, that's where things would
- 24:08Speaker 4: have been. And that was a decision that had to
- 24:10Speaker 4: be made. And that's why they did it. Now, remember,
- 24:13Speaker 4: this is the same Iranian people that told you there
- 24:15Speaker 4: was no nuclear program. They didn't have missiles that could
- 24:17Speaker 4: reach anywhere. But what happened as soon as we started
- 24:19Speaker 4: bombing them? They did send missiles to Europe. One of
- 24:22Speaker 4: them reached somewhere, didn't it? So sometimes we may not
- 24:26Speaker 4: like things, but oftentimes we don't know half the stuff
- 24:31Speaker 4: they know. And We sit back as Monday morning quarterbacks
- 24:34Speaker 4: eating popcorn, and we have this vision of how the
- 24:37Speaker 4: world should look, but that's just not reality, you know?
- 24:41Speaker 4: We've been at war since this world was created, and
- 24:43Speaker 4: we're going to probably be at war until you and
- 24:45Speaker 4: I die. Different factions, different people, different countries. So, you know,
- 24:50Speaker 4: without paraphrasing him, that's the long and short of what
- 24:53Speaker 4: Kennedy said, and some of it was classified. He couldn't disclose.
- 24:56Speaker 4: So there's a reason we went there. It wasn't because
- 24:58Speaker 4: of Netanyahu, right? I'm saddened because if anyone knows the
- 25:02Speaker 4: history of the Jewish people, I'm sad that now the
- 25:05Speaker 4: Americans are becoming the next country to turn on them.
- 25:09Speaker 4: And I'm not saying that clearly from a military standpoint,
- 25:13Speaker 4: but there's so much Jewish hate. It's ridiculous. It started
- 25:17Speaker 4: with the Romans, the Russians, the Germans. It was the
- 25:20Speaker 4: Arab nations. Now it's the Americans. I mean, these people
- 25:22Speaker 4: have been persecuted their whole lives. And if people don't
- 25:25Speaker 4: know the history of the Jewish people, I suggest that
- 25:27Speaker 4: they do some reading. because it goes back to the
- 25:30Speaker 4: Romans 2,000 years ago. They've been on the run ever since,
- 25:33Speaker 4: you know. But that's it. Welcome back. How's that?
- 25:37Speaker 1: All right. Thank you, Ted, the conservative. You got it.
- 25:40Speaker 4: All right. Maybe I'll see you at 630, huh?
- 25:42Speaker 1: Don't hold your breath. All right. Thanks. You're on the air.
- 25:46Speaker 3: They did do some reading, Ted. It's just a sad
- 25:49Speaker 3: thing that they were reading Mind Calm. So, yeah, and
- 25:55Speaker 3: this has been going on for a little while here, Ron.
- 25:58Speaker 3: And I think Ted, I think myself, are just trying to,
- 26:04Speaker 3: I don't know, pump the brakes to the wildfire. Like,
- 26:07Speaker 3: calm down a little bit, Ron. Because it's hard to
- 26:10Speaker 3: say on Tuesday, oh, listen, Ron, the stock market went
- 26:15Speaker 3: down 500. Well, then on Wednesday, it goes up 500.
- 26:16Speaker 3: It's the same thing. And I understand what you're saying.
- 26:26Speaker 3: It doesn't look good for long-term forecasts. But guess what?
- 26:30Speaker 3: You said nobody's making money right now?
- 26:32Speaker 1: I didn't say that.
- 26:34Speaker 3: What did you say about it?
- 26:37Speaker 4: I'll let you use your words.
- 26:39Speaker 1: Listen, everybody's entitled to their own opinion. I'm saying that
- 26:42Speaker 1: from my standard, once again, not to be a broken record,
- 26:45Speaker 1: the economy is not in a good spot. Okay? And
- 26:49Speaker 1: I'll go through it again. I understand Joe Biden created
- 26:52Speaker 1: a lot of this inflation with his policies. Let me
- 26:54Speaker 1: back up on that. COVID also caused this. COVID created
- 27:00Speaker 1: a lot of this problem with the supply shortages that
- 27:03Speaker 1: took place during COVID. If you want to get realistic
- 27:05Speaker 1: on this stuff... And everybody wants to get into it.
- 27:08Speaker 1: I'd be more than happy to get into it. We
- 27:10Speaker 1: had COVID. COVID created shortages because things were shut down
- 27:14Speaker 1: and things weren't being produced. Government policy created a part
- 27:17Speaker 1: of the problem because they stimulated the economy with all
- 27:20Speaker 1: this money that was going out there. So employers didn't
- 27:23Speaker 1: have to pay their employees. They were given money for that.
- 27:26Speaker 1: You had the people getting these checks. So what did
- 27:29Speaker 1: the government do? They created demand for... when things weren't
- 27:33Speaker 1: being produced. So if you have big demand and a shortage,
- 27:36Speaker 1: prices go up because of supply and demand. It's as
- 27:40Speaker 1: simple as that. So COVID created some of this inflation.
- 27:43Speaker 1: Then you go on to it with the additional government
- 27:46Speaker 1: policies that added to it under Biden. That's why you
- 27:49Speaker 1: saw double digit inflation. I mean, to get into the
- 27:54Speaker 1: specifics of this with people, that's why you saw double
- 27:57Speaker 1: digit inflation at that time growing. Under COVID started under
- 28:01Speaker 1: Trump and some of these policies were under Trump the
- 28:03Speaker 1: first term. Biden continued them under his term and made
- 28:07Speaker 1: it worse by the decisions that he made. And then
- 28:12Speaker 1: when Trump took office, inflation was coming down. Gas prices
- 28:16Speaker 1: were down. The economy was going in a good direction.
- 28:20Speaker 1: Supply chain issues were being dealt with. So things were
- 28:24Speaker 1: going in the right direction. Then along comes this war.
- 28:27Speaker 1: And creates a huge issue with oil and energy supply issues.
- 28:34Speaker 1: And they are a mess right now. I don't care
- 28:37Speaker 1: how much you love Trump or whatever. It is an
- 28:40Speaker 1: absolute mess. And it's going to and it's going to
- 28:44Speaker 1: continue to be a mess. This is solely on him.
- 28:47Speaker 1: This was his decision. And and the economy has did
- 28:52Speaker 1: a 180 inflation ward back on top of what we had.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Additional inflation came back and we're facing serious issues with
- 29:00Speaker 1: a shortage of oil. We've depleted our reserves. China's depleting
- 29:04Speaker 1: their reserves. People don't understand this. So there's a shortage
- 29:08Speaker 1: of oil. And even if you open a straight up tomorrow,
- 29:12Speaker 1: the problem is going to persist for quite some time
- 29:14Speaker 1: to get everything back in line. And do you think
- 29:17Speaker 1: a shipping company is going to take these oil tankers,
- 29:20Speaker 1: which are extremely expensive, and say, let's go through the
- 29:22Speaker 1: straight again. Everything must be fine. More than likely, they're
- 29:26Speaker 1: not going to do that right away because they're too
- 29:28Speaker 1: nervous to do something like that at that time. The
- 29:31Speaker 1: whole system is an absolute mess, and it's because of
- 29:36Speaker 1: the decision Trump made with the situation with Netanyahu. and Israel.
- 29:40Speaker 1: I totally disagree with Ted. He did it because of Netanyahu.
- 29:44Speaker 1: He did it because of Israel. This is a major mess.
- 29:47Speaker 1: It continues to be a mess, and even if he
- 29:50Speaker 1: can get it dealt with, it will be a mess
- 29:53Speaker 1: for quite some time. I don't know if it will
- 29:55Speaker 1: ever go back to normal. It will be an absolute mess.
- 29:58Speaker 1: Supply and demand. You cannot take... 20 to 30 million
- 30:03Speaker 1: barrels of oil off the market a day and not
- 30:06Speaker 1: think prices are going to go up. So I can
- 30:09Speaker 1: go back to COVID. I can go back to Biden.
- 30:11Speaker 1: I can go back to COVID and Trump, COVID and Biden.
- 30:14Speaker 1: I can go to Trump and Iran. And this is
- 30:19Speaker 1: where you are today. And so when Ted says it's negative, well,
- 30:23Speaker 1: I don't know. Does people's income keep up with double-digit inflation?
- 30:27Speaker 1: Not just in that stuff, but you're seeing it, like
- 30:29Speaker 1: I say, with inflation with housing, property taxes going up.
- 30:35Speaker 1: Do you think I just sit here and crap this
- 30:36Speaker 1: stuff out? Do you think I'm making it up when
- 30:38Speaker 1: I'm talking about foreclosures on homes? Do you think I'm
- 30:42Speaker 1: making it up when I'm talking about people that are
- 30:44Speaker 1: defaulting on their credit cards, their mortgages? Do you think
- 30:48Speaker 1: that this is all just BS as you see those
- 30:50Speaker 1: trends go up? It is not. Once again, I don't
- 30:56Speaker 1: give a damn who you are. You got so much
- 30:57Speaker 1: money and it takes more of your money to pay
- 31:00Speaker 1: your property taxes. Your electric rates have doubled around here.
- 31:03Speaker 1: Your property taxes have gone up. They're going to go
- 31:05Speaker 1: up again. Your electric rates have doubled in this community.
- 31:09Speaker 1: Your groceries are up. Your car costs are up. Tell
- 31:12Speaker 1: me anything that's in good shape right now. So people
- 31:16Speaker 1: only got so much money. So the stock market's up today.
- 31:19Speaker 1: But it was down last week big time. You want
- 31:22Speaker 1: to talk about the stock market? One of the worst
- 31:24Speaker 1: things on a stock market, not if you're a day trader,
- 31:27Speaker 1: which most people are not. I get what Fort Lauderdale
- 31:31Speaker 1: Frank is doing or some of these guys. They're in
- 31:33Speaker 1: a whole other league. They're in a league most people
- 31:36Speaker 1: aren't in. Most people are not day traders. You can
- 31:38Speaker 1: make a lot of money and you can lose a lot.
- 31:41Speaker 1: But the worst thing of a stock market is volatility. High, high,
- 31:45Speaker 1: the huge volatility like this. Because it's just unpredictable. So
- 31:51Speaker 1: the market's up today. It could be down tomorrow. There
- 31:55Speaker 1: is no.
- 31:56Speaker 3: We're just saying the same thing to you because because
- 32:01Speaker 3: of the because of the constant back and forth. But
- 32:04Speaker 3: it's like it's it's it's happy, happy, joy, joy, because
- 32:09Speaker 3: it's down and Trump's stupid. And then when it's up.
- 32:14Speaker 1: See, that to me is a stupid comment. It's not happy, happy, joy, joy.
- 32:18Speaker 1: I'm just trying to give you the reality. I'm not
- 32:21Speaker 1: sitting here telling you happy, happy, joy. You don't think
- 32:24Speaker 1: I lose a lot on a day that it's down
- 32:26Speaker 1: like that, whether it's in my retirement and that kind
- 32:28Speaker 1: of stuff? It's not happy, happy, joy, joy. It's the reality.
- 32:32Speaker 1: I'm sitting here, maybe unlike a lot of people, and
- 32:35Speaker 1: you know what? I'm genuinely concerned about people that are
- 32:38Speaker 1: close to retirement or in retirement. Now, you know, there's
- 32:41Speaker 1: many things when you say happy, happy, joy, joy. You
- 32:44Speaker 1: get a down market and somebody's got to take a
- 32:46Speaker 1: required minimum distribution because of their age. You know, you
- 32:49Speaker 1: have to start doing that at 73, 74. Well, guess what?
- 32:53Speaker 1: You want to take it in a down market when
- 32:54Speaker 1: it's severely down? You think that doesn't affect that person?
- 32:59Speaker 1: You got people saying they plan for their retirement and
- 33:03Speaker 1: now things are so inflated. the cost of everything that
- 33:07Speaker 1: they thought they had in good shape, and they're not
- 33:11Speaker 1: in good shape. Now, I'm not making any of this
- 33:14Speaker 1: crap up. I mean, medical costs are off the charts. No,
- 33:20Speaker 1: this is not my opinion. This is what's going on.
- 33:22Speaker 1: So you want me to sit here and say, oh,
- 33:26Speaker 1: I voted for Trump. Everything's always great and wonderful. I
- 33:30Speaker 1: am not a cheerleader. It is not. This situation is
- 33:34Speaker 1: a damn mess. Period. It's a mess. Period. And there's
- 33:39Speaker 1: no end in sight.
- 33:42Speaker 3: We're not saying it isn't a mess. I'm just grouping
- 33:47Speaker 3: people together. But the saying that Trump did this against
- 33:53Speaker 3: Iran because of Israel is your opinion. That part, I'm
- 33:57Speaker 3: not talking about the property taxes or anything. You're right
- 34:00Speaker 3: about that. But that's just an opinion because you don't
- 34:03Speaker 3: know that. Only Trump knows that, right, why he did it.
- 34:08Speaker 3: And I'm just saying... Back to the old best shouldn't
- 34:13Speaker 3: be the enemy of better. Yes. Is that a mess?
- 34:16Speaker 3: And should that get better? Absolutely. But look, you mentioned
- 34:20Speaker 3: all those things that happened. COVID, Biden, blah, blah, blah. Yeah.
- 34:25Speaker 3: How about COVID and four years of Biden? And anybody
- 34:30Speaker 3: can come in. We don't know anything about them. We
- 34:33Speaker 3: don't know any vaccination. We're not asking them to do it.
- 34:36Speaker 3: And the COVID was a baby under Trump. So I
- 34:40Speaker 3: would think you got to give him a little break.
- 34:43Speaker 3: Did he make all the right decisions?
- 34:44Speaker 5: No.
- 34:45Speaker 3: But that was the very beginning. And then he was out. Right?
- 34:50Speaker 3: That's November. That's January. He's done. It's a year. It's
- 34:54Speaker 3: less than a year than when we knew about it.
- 34:59Speaker 3: You do the COVID and the Biden thing, yes, that
- 35:03Speaker 3: affects a lot of stuff. But who made the bad decisions?
- 35:06Speaker 3: And we wouldn't know about these bad decisions or the
- 35:10Speaker 3: lying if it wasn't for Trump being in there now.
- 35:15Speaker 3: We wouldn't know, Nemet Oz today, how many people indicted
- 35:19Speaker 3: in Pennsylvania for more fraud. It's the Trump administration that's
- 35:26Speaker 3: making things better, that made the border better, that continues
- 35:29Speaker 3: to make the border better.
- 35:30Speaker 1: I understand that. Listen, I'm not here talking about everything here.
- 35:35Speaker 1: I'm talking about one thing, which is the economy. All right,
- 35:38Speaker 1: I'm going to say it again. I'm not a cheerleader
- 35:40Speaker 1: for the guy. All right. I mean, I'm here to
- 35:43Speaker 1: tell you, in my opinion, it sucks right now. And
- 35:46Speaker 1: I wish I could tell you it's going to get better.
- 35:49Speaker 1: I don't know. Well, I mean, if that's what you want,
- 35:52Speaker 1: you know, you can tune into Hannity or Clay and
- 35:56Speaker 1: Buck where where Trump can do nothing wrong. This this
- 35:59Speaker 1: is a mess. All right. I don't know where you
- 36:03Speaker 1: get any positivity in it. And I go through it.
- 36:07Speaker 1: You know, I get the Democrats pissed at me when
- 36:09Speaker 1: I say, here's why your electric prices increase. Because Obama
- 36:15Speaker 1: and Hillary Clinton had the war on coal and they
- 36:18Speaker 1: mandated that these coal plants be torn down with nothing
- 36:22Speaker 1: to replace them. So they created a shortage in electricity.
- 36:26Speaker 1: That's one of the main reasons why... Your electric rates
- 36:30Speaker 1: went up. Now, the Democrats call, like you, the Democratic
- 36:33Speaker 1: cheerleaders call, and they say, well, Ron, that isn't why
- 36:35Speaker 1: the prices went up. It's AI. Well, it is AI
- 36:38Speaker 1: as well. But they went up because they created the
- 36:41Speaker 1: problem by ripping the coal plants down. But it's also AI.
- 36:44Speaker 1: So I agree with them, but they don't want to
- 36:46Speaker 1: acknowledge the other part of it. So I'm here to
- 36:49Speaker 1: tell you, I understand what Biden did. I understand what
- 36:52Speaker 1: Trump did. I understand what Trump did during COVID. He
- 36:56Speaker 1: was given some money out, too, on policies, as I remember.
- 37:00Speaker 1: He was sending out some checks and this kind of stuff.
- 37:02Speaker 1: But many people were arguing at the time, what are
- 37:04Speaker 1: you giving people money for when we don't have any
- 37:07Speaker 1: products to produce, when we shut everything down? I mean,
- 37:11Speaker 1: it's basic economics. I mean, to me, this is basic.
- 37:16Speaker 1: I don't know if you've got an endless stream of money.
- 37:19Speaker 1: I mean, whose income is keeping up with this? I mean,
- 37:23Speaker 1: I just got done with that over my time back.
- 37:27Speaker 1: I just started looking at delinquencies on property taxes. They're
- 37:33Speaker 1: at a huge high in the state of Ohio, about $ 575, 000.
- 37:38Speaker 1: That's huge. Delinquencies. I mean, is that a good economic sign?
- 37:44Speaker 1: Or is that showing you people are having a tough
- 37:46Speaker 1: time keeping up with these constant increases that are beyond
- 37:49Speaker 1: the rate of inflation? And I sit here and I
- 37:54Speaker 1: give Dave Thomas time and I try to get things
- 37:58Speaker 1: changed for some of these people. But these damn stupid
- 38:01Speaker 1: local politicians think the answer always is, well, we need
- 38:05Speaker 1: more of your money. They are the problem. And some
- 38:09Speaker 1: of them are Republicans. And they are the problem. And
- 38:12Speaker 1: many of these people locally who are running as Republicans
- 38:15Speaker 1: really aren't Republicans. They are tax and spend Democrats. who
- 38:21Speaker 1: are running as Republicans because they think they can get
- 38:23Speaker 1: elected that way. That's my observation with them. Because if
- 38:27Speaker 1: you're a Republican, you believe in less government, lower taxes.
- 38:32Speaker 1: Not more government and more taxes.
- 38:35Speaker 3: Get rid of the bums. Exactly. But in both parties,
- 38:37Speaker 3: of course. And I'm just pointing out the other things
- 38:40Speaker 3: that are good. The going after the fraud is actually happening.
- 38:44Speaker 1: I understand all of that. That's all good. But I
- 38:48Speaker 1: can't talk about 87 things at one time. He asked
- 38:52Speaker 1: me about the economy. What do you want me to say? Well,
- 38:55Speaker 1: before I get to the economy, I want to make
- 38:56Speaker 1: sure I'm how happy I am about the border being closed. Frankly,
- 39:01Speaker 1: I think he should be getting more of these people
- 39:02Speaker 1: out of the country that are here illegally anyway.
- 39:06Speaker 3: And that's what I was going to say about supply
- 39:07Speaker 3: and demand. Once we're doing it, some are self-deporting. It's happening, right?
- 39:13Speaker 3: The judge said, okay, yeah, your temporary protected.
- 39:16Speaker 4: Status is over.
- 39:17Speaker 3: You're going.
- 39:18Speaker 5: Okay.
- 39:19Speaker 3: I'm just saying there's good things going on while there's
- 39:22Speaker 3: bad things going on. Except if we had anybody else
- 39:26Speaker 3: in there, we wouldn't have the good part with the
- 39:29Speaker 3: bad part.
- 39:31Speaker 1: If you think I would vote for Harris, you did.
- 39:34Speaker 1: I won't vote for a Democrat, that's for sure. I'll
- 39:37Speaker 1: tell you who I'd like to see president. I just
- 39:39Speaker 1: make no bones. I think Ron DeSantis would be an
- 39:41Speaker 1: excellent president, in my opinion.
- 39:43Speaker 3: Yes, he would.
- 39:43Speaker 1: Because I think, frankly, I think he's smart. I just think,
- 39:49Speaker 1: and he could be, I just think DeSantis is probably
- 39:52Speaker 1: one of the smartest guys out there. Because I just
- 39:55Speaker 1: think he's well-read. He's a lawyer. And I set that aside.
- 39:59Speaker 1: That can be good or bad. But he's well-read. I
- 40:02Speaker 1: leave you with that. We'll be back after this.
- 40:23Speaker 5: The Pentagon war-gamed multiple scenarios and told Trump that the
- 40:31Speaker 5: Iran war is unwinnable. And please tell Ted the Conservative
- 40:36Speaker 5: that if Iran has enough uranium to make maybe eight
- 40:42Speaker 5: atomic bombs and they were foolish enough to nuke Europe,
- 40:47Speaker 5: the United States would nuke Iran into the Stone Age.
- 40:52Speaker 5: They're not going to do something that stupid. Now, when
- 40:56Speaker 5: Nixon took the dollar off the gold standard, we had
- 41:00Speaker 5: double-digit inflation because now there was no check on unlimited
- 41:05Speaker 5: money creation. Ted is wrong. Trump could tell the Fed
- 41:09Speaker 5: to stop creating money, and prices would stabilize immediately. And
- 41:15Speaker 5: when Ronald Reagan appointed Paul Volcker Fed Chairman... He took
- 41:20Speaker 5: money out of circulation, and gas prices, interest rates, and
- 41:25Speaker 5: other prices actually came down. And the same thing happened
- 41:29Speaker 5: during the Great Depression. The Fed contracted the money supply,
- 41:34Speaker 5: and goods and services became cheaper. So, Ted, Trump is
- 41:39Speaker 5: responsible for stagflation and monetary inflation. He could stop it immediately.
- 41:46Speaker 5: You're making Biden a scapegoat. Trump is the president. He's
- 41:51Speaker 5: responsible for inflation. And Trump promised that tariff taxes could
- 41:56Speaker 5: eliminate income taxes entirely. But last year, income taxes brought
- 42:01Speaker 5: in $ 2. 7 trillion in tax revenue. Now, when I subtract
- 42:07Speaker 5: $ 2. 7 trillion from $ 200 billion that we received in tariff taxes,
- 42:15Speaker 5: I get a $ 2. 5 trillion shortfall. That's more than the
- 42:19Speaker 5: entire U.S. war budget. There's no way tariff taxes like
- 42:25Speaker 5: G2 promised is going to eliminate income tax. And when
- 42:31Speaker 5: Reagan cut taxes in the highest income bracket in the
- 42:34Speaker 5: Soviet Union collapse of 1991 with the House arrest by
- 42:39Speaker 5: the Politburo of Gorbachev, the socialist countries of China and
- 42:44Speaker 5: India saw the writing on the wall. They opened their
- 42:48Speaker 5: countries to foreign investment. This made vast amounts of low-cost
- 42:53Speaker 5: labor available to U.S.
- 42:55Speaker 3: Capital.
- 42:56Speaker 5: And, Ron, I've always said investment capital always seeks out
- 43:00Speaker 5: the lowest cost of production. But, you know, Ron, American
- 43:04Speaker 5: executives who did not quickly capitalize on low labor costs
- 43:09Speaker 5: in Asia by moving their production for U.S. markets offshore
- 43:14Speaker 5: They were warned by Wall Street that they better get
- 43:17Speaker 5: their asses over there quickly.
- 43:19Speaker 1: Stand by. Just stand by for a minute. Back in
