- 0:03Welcome to the Voices of Life podcast, where
- 0:10his light will lead the way. Welcome to the Voices
- 0:33of Life podcast, a ministry of the Church for
- 0:39Life. Welcome to the Voices of Life podcast,
- 0:48a ministry of the Church for Life. Today is Sunday,
- 0:51May 10th, 2026, a day of honor, reflection, and
- 0:56gratitude. And now, here's your host, Pastor
- 1:00David. Good morning, family. This is Pastor David,
- 1:05and I wanted to welcome you to this very special
- 1:08Mother's Day edition of Voices of Life, a ministry
- 1:12of the Church for Life. Today, our hearts are
- 1:15turned toward gratitude, honor, and a beautiful
- 1:19gift of motherhood in all its forms. But before
- 1:24we begin... I want to take a brief moment to
- 1:26acknowledge that today is also Confederate Memorial
- 1:29Day in both North and South Carolina. This date
- 1:33appears on the civic calendar for those two states,
- 1:35and as a ministry, we're committed to truth,
- 1:38compassion, and historical clarity. We do not
- 1:41ignore the weight of these days like this. Last
- 1:45month, in Season 2, Episode 4, A Day of Remembrance,
- 1:49A Christian Reflection on the Civil War and Reconciliation,
- 1:53We dedicated an entire episode to exploring the
- 1:58history, context, and meaning of that observance.
- 2:02We approached it with honesty, humility, and
- 2:05a Christ -centered commitment to reconciliation.
- 2:08Because of that, we will not revisit the full
- 2:11history today. Instead, we will simply acknowledge
- 2:14the date for those two states, we remember the
- 2:17human cost of our nation's past, and we reaffirm
- 2:20our calling to walk in truth, unity, and grace.
- 2:25And now, with our hearts centered and our focus
- 2:30clear, we turn fully toward Mother's Day, a day
- 2:34of honor, remembrance, and blessing. A day to
- 2:39celebrate the women who have shaped our lives,
- 2:43nurtured our faith, and reflected the heart of
- 2:48God through their love. Mothers shape our world
- 3:09in ways that cannot be measured. Some teach us
- 3:13how to walk. Some teach us how to pray. Some
- 3:18teach us how to rise after falling. And some
- 3:22teach us simply by the way they love. Today we
- 3:29honor mothers raising children right now. Mothers
- 3:33who have passed on. Grandmothers and great -grandmothers.
- 3:37Aunties who stepped in as second moms. Women
- 3:41who long to be mothers. Women who mentor, guide,
- 3:46and nurture others. Single mothers carrying both
- 3:49roles. Stepmothers building blended families
- 3:53with grace. Spiritual mothers who shape lives
- 3:57through faith and compassion. Motherhood is not
- 4:02defined by biology. It is defined by love in
- 4:05action. Our scripture for this hour comes from
- 4:11Proverbs 31, verse 26. And it says, She opens
- 4:18her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness
- 4:23is on her tongue. This verse is not about perfection.
- 4:28It is about presence. It's about the quiet, steady
- 4:32influence of a woman who pours love into others.
- 4:37Mothers often carry the emotional weight of the
- 4:40family. They pray silently, work tirelessly,
- 4:44love fiercely. And God sees every moment. My
- 4:48mom taught me how to be strong without being
- 4:49hard. She taught me how to be gentle without
- 4:52being weak. I miss her every day, but her love
- 4:55still guides me. The ones that stay with us long
- 4:59after childhood. Maybe your mother taught you
- 5:03how to cook. Maybe she taught you how to forgive.
- 5:07Maybe she taught you how to stand up for yourself.
- 5:10Or maybe she taught you how to trust God when
- 5:14life gets heavy. I want you to think about the
- 5:17one lesson your mother taught you that shaped
- 5:23your life. Hold that thought. Let it sit with
- 5:29you. I'll share mine. My mother taught me that
- 5:36love is not loud, it's consistent. It's in the
- 5:42small things, the everyday things, the things
- 5:45nobody sees. And that lesson has shaped my ministry,
- 5:50my leadership, and my heart. We will now take
- 6:22a look at some letters that we have received.
- 6:26And we received some several beautiful messages
- 6:29from listeners who wanted to honor their mothers
- 6:32today. Here are a few. That's beautiful. Strength
- 6:52and gentleness, what a powerful combination.
- 6:57Let's listen to another excerpt from a letter
- 7:02from our listeners. Chosen love is one of the
- 7:20greatest gifts a mother can give. You know, family,
- 7:38these messages remind us that motherhood takes
- 7:42many forms. And all of them matter. Every single
- 7:46one of them. Let's take a moment to pray. who
- 8:20pours into others, feel honored, valued, and
- 8:24deeply loved. Amen. Let's be honest. Motherhood
- 8:32is not easy. It's beautiful, yes. But it's also
- 8:36exhausting, sometimes overwhelming, and it's
- 8:39a lonely job. Especially if there's no better
- 8:43half or other half, whichever way you want to
- 8:46look at it, in the family. Some mothers are raising
- 8:49children alone, some caring for aging parents,
- 8:52some are grieving children that they lost. Some
- 8:57are praying for children who have drifted away.
- 9:00I know someone like that, and it tears her up,
- 9:03probably each and every day. If any of those
- 9:08are you today, you are not forgotten, you are
- 9:11not invisible, and you are not alone. I want
- 9:18to speak directly to the mothers who feel tired.
- 9:21You are doing better than you think. Your work
- 9:25matters more than you know. Your love is shaping
- 9:29the future in ways you never get to see. I want
- 9:36to share a story, a simple one, about a mother
- 9:39who stayed. There was a young boy who struggled
- 9:43in school. He couldn't read well. He couldn't
- 9:47sit well. I mean, he couldn't sit still at all.
- 9:50I mean, he was just always getting up. Teacher
- 9:53says he went about too much. But his mother,
- 9:56she stayed. She sat with him every night. She
- 10:01prayed over him every morning. She believed in
- 10:06him when nobody else did. That boy grew up to
- 10:11be a pastor. And he never forgot the mother who
- 10:15stayed. So the lesson there is don't ever give
- 10:21up. There's always something good that can come
- 10:25out of it. But you have to put in the time and
- 10:28the effort. Some of you listening today are missing
- 10:38your mothers. I know I am. She's been gone 25
- 10:42years last month. Maybe this is your first Mother's
- 10:46Day without her. Maybe it's been years, but the
- 10:50ache is still there. It is. You feel it. If you
- 10:54think about it, it stays with you. Never goes
- 10:56away. I want you to know, grief is love that
- 11:02has nowhere to go. And it's okay to feel it today.
- 11:07May her memory be a blessing. May her legacy
- 11:11be a comfort. May her love still guide your steps.
- 11:21We had a few questions come in, and I want to
- 11:25go ahead and address them. So let's answer a
- 11:29question we received. Pastor David, what makes
- 11:34someone a mother? My answer is simple. A mother
- 11:39is someone who loves, nurtures, protects you,
- 11:43teaches you, and makes sacrifices that you may
- 11:47or may not see. A mother is someone who shows
- 11:51up, their presence. They show up to your school
- 11:55plays, to things that are important to you. A
- 12:00mother is someone who gives of herself so others
- 12:04can grow. Biology creates life, but love creates
- 12:09family. And a mother's love is a very special
- 12:12love. Right now, wherever you are, take a moment.
- 12:20to whisper a thank you. If your mother is still
- 12:23with you, thank God for her. If she has passed
- 12:28on, thank God for her memory. If someone else
- 12:33raised you, thank God for their love. If you
- 12:38are a mother, thank God for the strength he gives
- 12:42you daily. Gratitude changes the atmosphere.
- 12:46It does. It also uplifts us. As we close this
- 12:57part of the podcast today, this segment, I want
- 13:01to remind you, you are loved. You are valued.
- 13:06You are seen. And today we honor the women who
- 13:11helped shape who we are. We'll move on to our
- 13:18next segment in a moment. So in our first segment,
- 13:25it was powerful. We talked about stories, reflections,
- 13:31conversations we have with women that shaped
- 13:34our lives. In this segment, we're going to dedicate
- 13:39the segment to the strength of the women or the
- 13:46people in their stead that act as our mother.
- 13:55There is a strength in mothers that is unlike
- 13:57anything else in the world. It's not the strength
- 14:02of muscle. It's the strength of endurance. It's
- 14:07the strength of sacrifice. It's the love that
- 14:11just refuses to quit. Some mothers work two jobs.
- 14:16Some mothers raise children alone. And some mothers
- 14:20fight battles no one sees. Emotional battles.
- 14:23financial battles, spiritual battles. And yet,
- 14:29they keep going. I want to speak to the mothers
- 14:34who feel like they're running on empty. You are
- 14:38stronger than you know. You are doing more than
- 14:42you realize. And God sees every tear, every prayer,
- 14:46every late night and early morning. Your strength
- 14:52is sacred. In Isaiah 66, verse 13, As a mother
- 15:04comforts her child, so will I comfort you, says
- 15:09the Lord. This is one of the few places in Scripture
- 15:15where God compares His love to that of a mother.
- 15:20My mother worked nights so she could be home
- 15:23when I got off the school bus. She slept only
- 15:25a few hours a day, but she never complained.
- 15:28She always said, love is worth the sacrifice.
- 15:32It's steady and it's healing. God says, that's
- 15:38how I love you. And because God's love is unconditional,
- 15:43that's why it's compared to your mother's. She
- 15:48taught me that strength isn't the absence of
- 15:50pain. It's the presence of love. Every one of
- 15:54us knows a mother who refused to give up, even
- 15:58when life gave her every reason to. Maybe she
- 16:03raised children while battling illness. My grandmother
- 16:05raised eight children on her own. She didn't
- 16:08have much money, but she had faith. And that
- 16:11faith carried our whole family. Maybe she prayed
- 16:14for the children for years before seeing change.
- 16:18Mothers are warriors, but they're quiet warriors.
- 16:25I want you to think of a woman in your life who
- 16:29never gave up on you. Hold her name in your heart
- 16:34just for a moment. Let gratitude rise. Think
- 16:41of all the things that she did for you and how
- 16:45many things shaped her. who you are today. We
- 16:56received a few more stories, and I do want to
- 16:58go ahead and get to as many as we can from our
- 17:01listeners. And it's all about the strength of
- 17:05mothers, these particular letters. So here's
- 17:08a few. That's the heart of a mother. Love that
- 17:28sacrifices. Here's another. See, strength in
- 17:45the midst of suffering. That's holy ground. Let's
- 17:50do one more. Faithful mothers build foundations
- 18:07that last for generations. They're the ones that
- 18:13gave us the anchor in our family and kept us
- 18:19going from generation to generation with solid
- 18:23moral and ethical values. Let's pray for the
- 18:31strength of mothers everywhere. God, Give strength
- 18:36to the mothers who are tired. Give peace to the
- 18:40mothers who are overwhelmed. Give hope to the
- 18:44mothers who feel alone. Give joy to the mothers
- 18:48who pour out so much of themselves and remind
- 18:53them that you are with them always. Amen. Mothers
- 19:05do and things that go on in life. Let's talk
- 19:09about something important. And that's mental
- 19:12health. Many mothers carry emotional burdens
- 19:16silently. They feel pressure to be strong, to
- 19:21be perfect, to hold everything together. Of course,
- 19:26oftentimes they hold everything in. But mothers
- 19:29are human. They get tired. They get overwhelmed.
- 19:33They need support too. If you're a mother listening
- 19:38right now and you're struggling, it's okay to
- 19:42ask for help. It's okay to rest. It's okay to
- 19:48not be okay. Because you matter. Your mental
- 19:54health matters. And your peace matters. God would
- 19:59not have it any other way. So, let's talk about
- 20:08what mothers wish we knew. You know, over the
- 20:12years, I've spoken with many mothers. Young mothers,
- 20:16older mothers, single mothers, grandmothers,
- 20:18spiritual mothers. I did that in my capacity
- 20:23as a pastor. I did that in my capacity as a law
- 20:26enforcement officer, counselor. Call it what
- 20:30you will. effect even if they were in different
- 20:36roles. And here's what many of them wish their
- 20:40families understood. They wish the families would
- 20:44understand that they're doing their best. They
- 20:50need appreciation, not perfection. They worry
- 20:55more than you know. They love you even when they're
- 21:01exhausted. They do need time to breathe and they
- 21:06absolutely need time to pray. Mothers carry so
- 21:11much and often silently. So today, let's give
- 21:18mothers the gift of understanding, the gift of
- 21:22patience, the gift of grace. I want to take a
- 21:30moment. to speak directly to single mothers.
- 21:34You are my heroes. You carry double the load
- 21:39with half the help. You make sacrifices nobody
- 21:43sees. You fight battles nobody knows about. And
- 21:48yet, you keep going. God sees you. God honors
- 21:54you. God strengthens you. You are not alone.
- 22:35Let's look at a mother's legacy, because every
- 22:39mother leaves a legacy. Some leave recipes, some
- 22:45very delicious recipes. Some leave wisdom. Some
- 22:50leave stories. Some leave faith. And some leave
- 22:57courage. But all mothers leave fingerprints.
- 23:03on the hearts of their children your legacy matters
- 23:08more than you know what you do the sacrifices
- 23:11you made not having help not having a significant
- 23:17other it takes a lot because it's it's you and
- 23:24there's no backup coming so that's totally understandable
- 23:27but mothers I know so many mothers that are making
- 23:33a difference. I want to talk about and highlight
- 23:39mothers in our community who are volunteering
- 23:43at shelters, mentoring young girls, leading prayer
- 23:47groups, supporting other mothers, mentoring others.
- 23:53That's powerful. Mothers serving in ministry.
- 23:57It's not all about us guys. It's about women
- 24:00too. Mothers working behind the scenes to keep
- 24:04families strong. You are the backbone of our
- 24:09communities. Think a gratitude moment. Think
- 24:17about that. How many times have you said, thank
- 24:20you, mom? Well, I don't know how many times you
- 24:25have, but right now, wherever you are, whisper
- 24:28these words. Thank you, mom. Say it for the mother
- 24:34who raised you. Say it for the mother who loved
- 24:37you. Say it for the mother who has prayed for
- 24:42you and believed in you. Gratitude is a gift.
- 24:48And today we give it freely. Gratitude should
- 24:53be given often freely when it's deserved. So
- 24:58as we close this second segment for today, I
- 25:01want to remind you, that mothers are a blessing,
- 25:04mothers are a gift, mothers are a reflection
- 25:10of God's love. In the next segment, we're going
- 25:15to go deeper into the heart of motherhood. Stay
- 25:18with us. We spent the first two segments today
- 26:37honoring mothers through stories, scripture,
- 26:40prayer, and reflection. In this third segment,
- 26:45we are dedicating something deeply meaningful.
- 26:50The wisdom of mothers. The kind of wisdom that
- 26:54shapes generations. Let's settle in, breathe
- 26:59deeply, and open our hearts. There is something
- 27:06special about the wisdom of a mother. It's not
- 27:12always spoken loudly. Sometimes it's whispered.
- 27:18Sometimes it's lived out quietly. Sometimes it's
- 27:24taught through example rather than words. Of
- 27:28course, you know, we always said sometimes do
- 27:30as you say, not as we do. Do as we do, not as
- 27:33we say. Or do as I say, now as we do, I've heard
- 27:36it both ways. But honestly, whichever way it's
- 27:42presented to us, it stays with us. Mother's wisdom
- 27:47becomes the compass we carry into adulthood.
- 27:53That doesn't mean people don't drift from it.
- 27:55And they have to get back on track. Because sometimes
- 27:59that does happen too. But they give us that foundation,
- 28:02that initial direction of where we need to go.
- 28:07Think about the phrases your mother used to say,
- 28:12the ones that still echo in your mind. Maybe
- 28:17it was, be kind. Pray about it. Stand up straight.
- 28:26Don't give up. God's got you. Everything will
- 28:32be all right. I think that last one, everything
- 28:35will be all right, I've heard that a lot. No
- 28:38matter what was going on, those were comforting
- 28:41words. It was the way it was said. It was with
- 28:45the emotion that was brought with it. That really
- 28:50sunk in. So these simple words become anchors
- 28:54in the storms of life. If you've lost your mother
- 29:01over the years, you may have had a dream one
- 29:06day that your mother was still there. You wake
- 29:08up and you want to tell her something and she's
- 29:11not there. Well, she's not physically there,
- 29:14but you can still tell her. And it's okay to
- 29:18thank her and it's okay to tell her what you
- 29:20thought you wanted to tell her, even if it was
- 29:23from a dream. So in Proverbs 1, verses 8 through
- 29:309. Do not forsake your mother's teaching, for
- 29:38they are a garland to grace your head and chain
- 29:43to adorn your neck. In other words, your mother's
- 29:49wisdom is a crown, a blessing, a gift, even if
- 29:54your mother wasn't perfect. And none are. The
- 29:58wisdom she gave you still carries value. There
- 30:06are lessons we carry into adulthood. Let's talk
- 30:13about the lessons mothers teach us that follow
- 30:16us into adulthood. Some lessons are practical.
- 30:20How to cook, how to clean, how to manage money.
- 30:24Some lessons... are more emotional. How to forgive.
- 30:30How to love. How to be patient. And some lessons
- 30:37are spiritual. How to pray. How to trust God.
- 30:44How to walk in faith. And some lessons... We
- 30:50don't understand until we're older. Because all
- 30:53of a sudden we're going through something in
- 30:55life and it dawns on us something our mother
- 30:58said but we didn't get it at the time or we didn't
- 31:02understand it at the time or not the full depth
- 31:04of it and all of a sudden it's like it puts it
- 31:06all together and now it's clear. My grandmother
- 31:12taught me to always leave a place better than
- 31:14I found it including people. your mother taught
- 31:19you that didn't appreciate or you didn't appreciate
- 31:23until later in life. And hold that thought. Let
- 31:28it settle in your heart. And be grateful. And
- 31:35thank your mother for giving you something to
- 31:38prepare yourself for when it came. It wasn't
- 31:44so much that she was a visionary, it was more
- 31:45that She had life experience, and she shared
- 31:49it with you because she knew sometime in your
- 31:52life you may experience it yourself. All right,
- 31:57and we've got a few more letters that we took
- 32:00out, and it was more about what my mother taught
- 32:04me. Some people wrote in about what was taught,
- 32:07and I thought that is something interesting too.
- 32:11So while we receive more beautiful messages from
- 32:14listeners about the wisdom of their mothers,
- 32:16let's go ahead and share a few. Well, bitterness
- 32:31is heavy. Mothers teach us how to let go. Here's
- 32:38another letter. is a mother's first language
- 32:53and that is powerful let's do one more you know
- 33:10that's powerful too you know speaking about a
- 33:13grandmother imagine if we all lived that way
- 33:20Let us have a prayer for wisdom. So let us pray
- 33:24for the wisdom that mothers give us. God, thank
- 33:32you for the wisdom of mothers. Wisdom that guides
- 33:35us, shapes us, and strengthens us. Help us honor
- 33:40their teachings. Live out their lessons and pass
- 33:46their wisdom to the next generation. Amen. It's
- 33:51all about paying it forward. Now motherhood is
- 34:00complicated. It's not a straight, you know, easy
- 34:04thing to do. And there's no manual for mothers
- 34:08to read. So not everyone has a simple relationship
- 34:13with their mother. Some relationships are strained.
- 34:16Some are distant. Some are painful. And some
- 34:22always remain unresolved. Mother's Day can bring
- 34:26up complicated emotions. If that's you, I can
- 34:32say with certainty, you're not alone. I want
- 34:37to speak to those who feel conflicted today.
- 34:41You can honor the role of motherhood even if
- 34:45the relationship wasn't perfect. You can celebrate
- 34:49the idea of motherhood even if your experience
- 34:51was difficult. You can find healing even if the
- 34:57past still hurts. God meets you where you are.
- 35:07I want to talk about the mother who prayed. prayed
- 35:18all the time. There was a woman whose son had
- 35:22drifted far from God. He was often angry, lost.
- 35:29He pushed everyone away from him. But his mother,
- 35:34she continued to pray. Every morning, every night,
- 35:39every time she thought of him. Years passed.
- 35:46Nothing changed. But she kept praying. One day
- 35:51that young man walked into a church and he didn't
- 35:57know why. He just felt drawn. That young man
- 36:02gave his life to Christ. And when he told his
- 36:06mother, she said, I knew God would bring you
- 36:11home. A praying mother. powerful force. Never
- 36:17underestimate the power of prayer. I want to
- 37:06speak to mothers of adult children. Your role
- 37:11is different now, but it's still important. And
- 37:15they're always your children, by the way. Your
- 37:17children still need your wisdom. They need your
- 37:20prayers and presence and encouragement, even
- 37:24if they tell you they don't. Even grown children
- 37:28need their mother. And mothers, you're allowed
- 37:32to grow too. You're allowed to rediscover yourself.
- 37:36You're allowed to dream again. Motherhood doesn't
- 37:40end. It evolves. And when we think of our mothers
- 37:46and we say, how do I honor my mother? And I've
- 37:50gotten this question once before. They said,
- 37:54Pastor David, how do I honor my mother if we
- 37:57don't always agree? Well, it's not as you can
- 38:02agree to disagree. But there are times, yeah,
- 38:04there's going to be conflict. There's going to
- 38:06be disagreement. And it's okay. Because honoring
- 38:12your mother doesn't mean that you're agreeing
- 38:13with everything she says. It simply means you
- 38:18are respecting her humanity, acknowledging her
- 38:22sacrifices, showing gratitude, offering grace,
- 38:28loving her where she is. Honor is all about the
- 38:34heart. It's not about perfection. And I know
- 38:39there may be some out there that don't feel they
- 38:44can do this. Some that don't even talk to their
- 38:46mother. But it's a mistake. Communication with
- 38:52your mother should never be said. Because, again,
- 38:57even if your mother is not with you, you still
- 38:59have communication. In your arms, I find my way.
- 39:09Oh, how you loved me every day. Mother, your
- 39:17strength is my guiding star. You taught me to
- 39:23dream and to reach so far. Through every fall,
- 39:30you'd pull me through. given to us. But there
- 39:35are things that we wish we said to others. Things
- 39:38like, thank you. Or I'm sorry. I appreciate you.
- 39:43I understand that. I love you. Never had a problem.
- 40:04with you, say it today. If she is past, say it
- 40:09with her, within your heart. If someone else
- 40:13raised you, say it today, with gratitude. As
- 40:22we finish this segment, I want to remind you,
- 40:26a mother's wisdom is a treasure, a mother's love
- 40:30is a gift, a mother's presence is a What? Our
- 43:38last segment is pretty powerful. I think in our
- 43:42final hour, we're dedicating to something sacred.
- 43:49The legacy of mothers. What they leave behind.
- 43:54What they build. What they plant in us that continues
- 43:58long after they're gone. Let's finish this journey
- 44:02together. A mother's legacy is not measured in
- 44:09money or possessions. It is measured in the values
- 44:16she taught, the prayers she prayed, the love
- 44:21she gave, all the lives that she touched, and
- 44:27the faith she lived. Some mothers leave behind,
- 44:30as we said earlier, recipes, some traditions.
- 44:33Some leave behind wisdom. Some leave behind courage.
- 44:38But every mother leaves behind something. Think
- 44:43about what your mother left you or is still giving
- 44:47you. Maybe it's strength. Maybe it's compassion.
- 44:53Maybe it's resilience. Maybe it's faith. Whatever
- 45:01it is, it's part of you now. My mother taught
- 45:04me to love people who are hard to love. That
- 45:06lesson changed my life. Let's look at scripture
- 45:10from Timothy 1, verse 5, where Paul writes, My
- 45:18mom didn't have much, but she gave us everything
- 45:19she had. Her generosity is the legacy I carry.
- 45:23Which first lived in your grandmother, Lois,
- 45:26and in your mother, Eunice. See, faith can be
- 45:32inherited, not by blood, but by example. My grandmother
- 45:36prayed for every one of her grandchildren by
- 45:38name. Well, it didn't begin with him. I believe
- 45:40those prayers are still protecting us today.
- 45:42His faith began with the women who raised him.
- 45:45Many of us who we are today because of that,
- 45:50because the faith of a mother or grandmother
- 45:53and how it influenced us. Let's talk about the
- 45:58seeds mother's plant. Now, Mother may not see
- 46:03the harvest, but she plants the seed anyway.
- 46:08She plants kindness, patience, faith, strength,
- 46:14hope, and courage. And those seeds grow in us
- 46:21over time. Some of you are living today in the
- 46:27harvest of seeds your mothers planted decades
- 46:30ago. Her prayers are still working. Her lessons
- 46:34are still guiding. Her love is still shaping.
- 46:38That's legacy. Here are a few messages where
- 46:43we found our listeners spoke about legacy. And
- 46:48we want to share them with you. Here's the first
- 46:51letter. See, loving the unlovable. That's Christ
- 47:01-like. That's amazing. Let's look at another.
- 47:16Generosity is a legacy that multiplies and can
- 47:19continue. And I think we have time for one more.
- 47:33A praying grandmother is a spiritual shield.
- 47:37I mean, that is legacy that has long been planted
- 47:45and continues on from each generation to the
- 47:49next. Let's have a prayer for legacy. Legacy
- 47:55is important. Let us pray. God, thank you for
- 48:01the legacy of mothers. For the wisdom they gave,
- 48:05for the love they shared, the faith they lived.
- 48:09Help us honor their legacy by living lives that
- 48:14reflect your goodness. Amen. Now there are some
- 48:20mothers that hurt on Mother's Day. And they need
- 48:26healing. Mother's Day is joyful for many, but
- 48:31painful for others. Some are grieving. Some are
- 48:34longing. Some are hurting. Some are remembering.
- 48:40Some are healing. If today is hard for you, I
- 48:45want you to know that God is close to the brokenhearted.
- 48:49You are not forgotten. You are not overlooked.
- 48:54You are not alone. Healing takes time. Grace
- 49:01takes time. And forgiveness takes time. And God
- 49:06walks with you through every step. There's no
- 49:11easy way to get past it except in time and prayer
- 49:18and knowing that there is love, knowing that
- 49:22there is grace. Let's talk about a mother who
- 49:29loved quietly. I want to share this last story.
- 49:34A story about a mother who loved quietly. She
- 49:37wasn't loud. She wasn't flashy. She didn't make
- 49:40big speeches. But she loved quietly. She packed
- 49:46lunches. She folded clothes. Prayed silently.
- 49:50Listened patiently. She forgave quickly. And
- 49:56she encouraged gently. Her children didn't...
- 50:00realize the depth of our love until they were
- 50:03grown. And then, then they understood. Quiet
- 50:09love is still powerful love. Because it doesn't
- 50:13change the level of love. It means that they
- 50:18wanted you to help guide you, but they knew you
- 50:23also had to find your own way. But they were
- 50:26there along the way with that love and support.
- 50:31And that's what counts. So my final encouragement
- 50:39to you, you are loved. To every mother listening,
- 50:43you are loved. You are valued. You are appreciated.
- 50:48You are seen. You are important. And you matter.
- 50:54And to everyone missing their mothers today,
- 50:57may her memory be a blessing. May her legacy
- 51:02be a comfort. May her love still guide your steps.
- 51:12As we close this Mother's Day broadcast, I want
- 51:16to leave you with this thought. A mother's love
- 51:21is one of the clearest reflections of God's love
- 51:27we will ever experience. It is patient and kind.
- 51:34It is sacrificial. It is enduring. Unconditional.
- 51:42And even when mothers fall short, always remember,
- 51:47God's love never does. Honor your mother today.
- 51:53Celebrate her. Remember her. Forgive her. Thank
- 51:57her. And love her. And may God bless every mother
- 52:03everywhere. Let us pray. God, thank you for mothers,
- 52:14for their love, their strength, their wisdom,
- 52:17their sacrifice. Bless every mother listening
- 52:20today. Comfort those who are grieving. Strengthen
- 52:25those who are struggling. Encourage those who
- 52:29are weary. and let your love surround every family.
- 52:35In Jesus' name, amen. Thank you for spending
- 52:41this Mother's Day with us. May the peace of God
- 52:45go with you. May the love of Christ surround
- 52:48you. And may the legacy of mothers inspire you.
- 52:53This has been Voices of Life, a ministry of the
- 52:57Church for Life. I wish everyone... A happy Mother's
- 53:01Day, and we'll see you next Sunday. God bless.
