- 0:42Speaker 2: Freddie Gibbs. Yes, thanks to Gibbs. Here you are in
- 0:46Speaker 2: this new movie. Congrats you night Patrol. Would I gotta say,
- 0:52Speaker 2: first of all, and not just because you're one of
- 0:54Speaker 2: my closest friends, but you fucking just steal the whole film.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Damn. Yeah, that's crazy.
- 1:00Speaker 2: I feel like you and the lady say.
- 1:03Speaker 1: To me, I think that Nikki is the best actress
- 1:05Speaker 1: in the movie Killed.
- 1:07Speaker 2: But in terms of like just like I mean, you
- 1:10Speaker 2: were like comedic relief, just NonStop.
- 1:12Speaker 1: I wasn't you know what, man, I wasn't even really
- 1:14Speaker 1: trying to do that. I think that Ryan's just like,
- 1:17Speaker 1: let me go off script a little bit and like
- 1:18Speaker 1: play with it a little bit.
- 1:19Speaker 2: So there's like a part where like you're like, yo,
- 1:22Speaker 2: some of this shit's bigger than the gang. And then
- 1:24Speaker 2: YG's in the back and he's like, really like what.
- 1:29Speaker 1: I was like, Man, let me just called down the situation.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Yeah, shout out to YG, who just did a good
- 1:33Speaker 2: job of playing himself.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Now. YG was definitely instrumental to the film for sure.
- 1:38Speaker 1: We had to you know he matter of fact, he's
- 1:41Speaker 1: an executive producer on the film. You know what I
- 1:42Speaker 1: mean to him? You know, he brought that energy to
- 1:46Speaker 1: it that we needed, you know what I mean. And
- 1:47Speaker 1: I definitely fed off him to make my character stronger.
- 1:51Speaker 2: So obviously you've been on this acting journey for five
- 1:56Speaker 2: or six years now. Seriously, obviously you've popped up in
- 1:58Speaker 2: stuff like I remember you did your squad and I
- 2:01Speaker 2: forget the name of the show on Peacock, it was down, bust,
- 2:05Speaker 2: down when you work at the casino. Yeah, obviously the
- 2:10Speaker 2: power stuff down with the King, and then we get
- 2:14Speaker 2: to this where I feel like this is your first
- 2:17Speaker 2: theatrical release.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, yeah, and that that was crazy too, just
- 2:20Speaker 1: to you know, for people to be able to just
- 2:23Speaker 1: go see me in the theater. It was crazy, you
- 2:25Speaker 1: know what I mean. So it was you know, it was,
- 2:26Speaker 1: it was. It's a good thing. I shout out to
- 2:28Speaker 1: the PR team for Night Patrol, Ryan Prow's, everybody, you
- 2:32Speaker 1: know what I mean. Brittany, she be with me every day,
- 2:35Speaker 1: one of these interviews and all that. Man, I appreciate her.
- 2:38Speaker 1: You know, we've just been you know, popping up in
- 2:40Speaker 1: the theaters and the fans been showing a lot. So
- 2:43Speaker 1: that's that's a real big things.
- 2:45Speaker 2: I mean, look, it's it's it's obviously like this like interesting,
- 2:49Speaker 2: it's an indie horror flick with but it's an oututrageous concept.
- 2:54Speaker 2: It's like the lapd or vampires.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, I mean, I mean when I when I
- 3:00Speaker 1: read the script, I was like, yeah, I gotta be
- 3:02Speaker 1: in this some kind of way. I wanted to play
- 3:04Speaker 1: one of the cops.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Really, seeing Punk was such a good racist.
- 3:08Speaker 1: The cops was white, so yeah.
- 3:09Speaker 2: They were the cops are racist, and seeing Punk made
- 3:11Speaker 2: me believe. I was like, yo, oh Ship, seeing Punk
- 3:13Speaker 2: might be racist. He's no, I know, no, he's like
- 3:17Speaker 2: super liberal like here, but he made me believe it.
- 3:20Speaker 1: I'm like, yeah, he did his thing in there. He's scary,
- 3:22Speaker 1: like I said, he's terrifying in real life.
- 3:24Speaker 2: You guys shot a lot of this in Pacoima. Yeah,
- 3:27Speaker 2: I think that's where that is that where the projects
- 3:30Speaker 2: were at.
- 3:30Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I think so. Yeah, it was every day
- 3:33Speaker 1: going over there. It was definitely a mission.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Yeah, it's an interesting area. Shot Tom was there. What
- 3:38Speaker 2: did you guys have any issue shooting at all, like
- 3:39Speaker 2: with any like gangs or anything you have getting cleared?
- 3:42Speaker 1: Definitely gangs. Yeah, it was definitely gangs there. You know, man, hey,
- 3:47Speaker 1: we left all at the y G. I'm gonna keep
- 3:49Speaker 1: it real with Yeah. You know what I'm saying. You know,
- 3:52Speaker 1: he made it, he'd be the guy. He made it
- 3:54Speaker 1: easy for us to just show up the work.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Hence executive producer.
- 3:57Speaker 1: Definitely.
- 3:59Speaker 2: So what is it? I mean, I want you to
- 4:00Speaker 2: tell the story. You tourned it a bit at the
- 4:02Speaker 2: movie premiere. So you're acting with seeing Punk and there's
- 4:05Speaker 2: a point in time where you think he actually really
- 4:06Speaker 2: wants to fight you. Yeah, what happened.
- 4:09Speaker 1: He was doing a scene where I had to like
- 4:12Speaker 1: I was trying to shoot him and then he like
- 4:14Speaker 1: grabs the gun or whatever. Yeah. I brought the gun
- 4:16Speaker 1: up a little too quick and it hit him in
- 4:18Speaker 1: the hand and it drew blood, and then like we
- 4:21Speaker 1: had to cut and he was pissed the fuck off,
- 4:23Speaker 1: and I was like, Damn, I think I'm gonna really
- 4:26Speaker 1: have to fight this dude. But no, I didn't not.
- 4:29Speaker 1: I didn't really think it was gonna escalate anything. But
- 4:32Speaker 1: you know, that's just one of the memorable moments.
- 4:34Speaker 2: That's my favorite wrestler of all times.
- 4:35Speaker 1: I love man. My favorite wrestle of all time is
- 4:38Speaker 1: probably stone Cold.
- 4:39Speaker 2: Shout the stone Cold Love stone Cold. Yeah, Stone Colder
- 4:42Speaker 2: is up there. Yeah definitely it's punk, like a cool dude. Yeah,
- 4:45Speaker 2: definitely definitely. Is he like a fan of what you do?
- 4:48Speaker 1: Like?
- 4:48Speaker 2: Does he know who you are?
- 4:49Speaker 1: I don't think so, but I knew who he was,
- 4:51Speaker 1: so that was cool.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Yeah, it's definitely for you. Is there like a big
- 4:55Speaker 2: because you've been on big production sets before obviously when
- 4:58Speaker 2: it comes to like the star stuff, and yeah, what's
- 5:01Speaker 2: the difference between that and like being on this set
- 5:03Speaker 2: and being like because you have so much screen time
- 5:05Speaker 2: on this movie.
- 5:08Speaker 1: I mean really it was you know, it wasn't really
- 5:10Speaker 1: anything different. You know. I was on there with a
- 5:13Speaker 1: couple of seasoned actors, Justin Long and Dermo Malroney, So
- 5:18Speaker 1: it was you know, it was interesting to you know,
- 5:21Speaker 1: kind of feed off those guys and you know, and
- 5:24Speaker 1: learn from them. So it was just like any other set,
- 5:26Speaker 1: you know. I was just you know, like I'm really
- 5:28Speaker 1: trying to make my bones and this ship. So I'm
- 5:29Speaker 1: really trying to like show the you know, the directors
- 5:33Speaker 1: and you know, the crew and the production and I'm
- 5:35Speaker 1: you know, really they're putting the work in.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it's not just some.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Rapper getting rolls. You know.
- 5:40Speaker 2: I came out of it and I was like, Yeah,
- 5:42Speaker 2: whoever sees this movie, if they're like directors or Netflix,
- 5:46Speaker 2: it's like they got to give you a show, they
- 5:47Speaker 2: got even a sitcom.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm down with it, you know what I'm saying.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Other rappers getting shows?
- 5:53Speaker 2: Yeah, Vince Staples. I mean, his ship was good. I
- 5:58Speaker 2: do think if it were up to you, would it
- 6:01Speaker 2: be like a sketch comedy show? Would it be a
- 6:03Speaker 2: sitcom if you if you had your way to just
- 6:05Speaker 2: like do a show.
- 6:07Speaker 1: I think that, you know, I think, you know, as
- 6:10Speaker 1: an actor, I think I'm versatile enough to do whatever.
- 6:13Speaker 1: You know, where there's some comedy stuff, some action stuff.
- 6:16Speaker 1: It don't really matter, you know. I just want to
- 6:18Speaker 1: just you know, get in front of the camera and
- 6:21Speaker 1: show what I could do, you know, regardless of what
- 6:23Speaker 1: it is. You know, I really want to get into
- 6:26Speaker 1: you know, the action thriller kind of serious genre of things,
- 6:31Speaker 1: kind of like a Westy Snipes, you know, some Passage
- 6:35Speaker 1: of fifty seven type ship. So yeah, yeah, so you know,
- 6:39Speaker 1: I really want to get into that. That's a lane
- 6:41Speaker 1: that I definitely want to penetrate next. But uh, you know,
- 6:45Speaker 1: I'm taking it as it goes, man, you know what
- 6:47Speaker 1: I mean. It's uh, you know, you're blessed to be
- 6:50Speaker 1: a working actor in Hollywood period right now, you know,
- 6:52Speaker 1: with everything that's going on a ship. Yeah, so I'm
- 6:55Speaker 1: you know, just glad that people want to, you know,
- 6:57Speaker 1: use me for things, and you know, see that I.
- 6:59Speaker 2: Got twenty five, great year for you obviously.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:04Speaker 2: On the music side, Alfredo two comes out does not disappoint.
- 7:09Speaker 1: Y'all. Thought I was disappointed with the parts. I mean,
- 7:11Speaker 1: you know, some people come with a part two and yeah,
- 7:14Speaker 1: I understand it can get well.
- 7:16Speaker 2: I mean, and I might be in the minority of
- 7:17Speaker 2: this opinion, but I actually thought Alfredo two is better
- 7:19Speaker 2: than ALFREDA one.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Agree.
- 7:21Speaker 2: I think people have like nostalgic connection because that was
- 7:25Speaker 2: like when I think of Covid, I think of Alfredo,
- 7:28Speaker 2: but I feel like it's a better, more well rounded listen.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Yeahs back. I mean honestly, you know, when I made it,
- 7:37Speaker 1: I didn't like set out to like top Alfredo one
- 7:41Speaker 1: or anything like that, but I knew that staying within
- 7:43Speaker 1: that series, you know, I had to elevate and not
- 7:47Speaker 1: you know what I mean, like you know, drop. So
- 7:49Speaker 1: it was just like, you know, I gotta put a
- 7:51Speaker 1: little bit more extra sauce on this one. I gotta
- 7:54Speaker 1: kind of like you know, you know, in all lessons,
- 7:56Speaker 1: kind of make it better. So you know, I just
- 7:59Speaker 1: stuck to my God, and I always, you know, does
- 8:02Speaker 1: what he does. So you know, I think I think
- 8:04Speaker 1: on this one, I probably got a little bit more creative. Yeah,
- 8:07Speaker 1: I think the first one, I you know, I didn't
- 8:09Speaker 1: expect it to be what it was. It was just
- 8:11Speaker 1: me and now just knocking out records like we was
- 8:14Speaker 1: doing a mixtape or something like that.
- 8:15Speaker 2: So I feel like you guys were a lot more
- 8:17Speaker 2: intentional with the second one too. It took I feel
- 8:19Speaker 2: like it. I mean, at least I know you guys
- 8:21Speaker 2: are working on a friend gave me.
- 8:22Speaker 1: It gave me a chance to like really like when
- 8:24Speaker 1: I did the first one and we got nominated and
- 8:26Speaker 1: all that, you know what I mean. It gave me
- 8:28Speaker 1: a chance to really like get into this second one
- 8:31Speaker 1: and really like plan it out, you know what I mean,
- 8:33Speaker 1: because like I said, I wanted to stay within the
- 8:36Speaker 1: with within the series of it. That's why I you know,
- 8:40Speaker 1: you know, the artwork was, you know, in line with
- 8:42Speaker 1: the first one. You know, we just like added a
- 8:44Speaker 1: couple of tweaks and just you know, did I think
- 8:47Speaker 1: I added the like Japanese feel to this one, you know,
- 8:50Speaker 1: because you know, I was watching a lot of like
- 8:52Speaker 1: your cools of films during the time making it, and
- 8:55Speaker 1: you know, I was like, damn, that'd be a great
- 8:57Speaker 1: twist on it, and then I like actually went to
- 8:59Speaker 1: Japan and really like studied it, and you know, I
- 9:02Speaker 1: was going.
- 9:02Speaker 2: To say, like, the you guys are so good at
- 9:05Speaker 2: like each one of these albums has created like its
- 9:08Speaker 2: own like universe, whether it's the clothes, the merch, the
- 9:13Speaker 2: limited vinyl releases. Was it your idea? Was it like
- 9:18Speaker 2: the japan pivot because it was so perfect?
- 9:21Speaker 1: Everything's always my ideal?
- 9:22Speaker 2: Okay, fuck Lambo?
- 9:25Speaker 1: Yeah, definitely, you know, you know, me and Lambo together
- 9:29Speaker 1: we can't lose, you know what I mean. So you know,
- 9:31Speaker 1: we definitely came with the concept to do this in
- 9:35Speaker 1: the you know, with the Japanese Yeah, you know what
- 9:38Speaker 1: I mean. It was you know, and it panned out
- 9:40Speaker 1: correctly and came out exactly how we wanted it. Only
- 9:43Speaker 1: thing that I wish that we would have done is
- 9:46Speaker 1: made the film a little bit longer because it was
- 9:48Speaker 1: Dope for beings, like was fifteen twenty minutes. You know,
- 9:52Speaker 1: that's the only part of the iron like that I
- 9:54Speaker 1: was frustrated about that we didn't get more time to spend,
- 9:57Speaker 1: you know, more time on the film.
- 9:59Speaker 2: Was that just be because it was being shot overseas and.
- 10:03Speaker 1: It was a lot of things involved with that time
- 10:04Speaker 1: constraints being shot overseas, you know what I'm saying, like budgets,
- 10:07Speaker 1: all kind of stuff. So it's just like you know,
- 10:09Speaker 1: we wanted to next time around, I definitely want to
- 10:12Speaker 1: do something like more like feature Land. And you know,
- 10:15Speaker 1: with that said me like getting into like the film thing.
- 10:21Speaker 1: I think, you know, going forward, every project that I do.
- 10:24Speaker 1: When I do, like, if I get back into doing
- 10:26Speaker 1: like musical projects, it'll be more like a soundtrack so
- 10:30Speaker 1: to speak, because I feel like I'm in that stage
- 10:33Speaker 1: of my career where I just want to like create
- 10:35Speaker 1: films and then make music to go along with it.
- 10:37Speaker 1: I feel like that's how I build out the world
- 10:42Speaker 1: and the build out the themes for these albums, because
- 10:45Speaker 1: I mean, honestly, I can see it first, you know
- 10:48Speaker 1: what I mean, I can I see the music, if
- 10:50Speaker 1: that makes me sense.
- 10:51Speaker 2: I mean, every one of your albums has an aesthetic
- 10:53Speaker 2: like yeah, yeah, you know, Triples is like very like
- 10:57Speaker 2: just vegas Bender. Yeah, I feel like You Only Die
- 11:00Speaker 2: Once is a horror movie for sure. It came out
- 11:02Speaker 2: on Halloween, so definitely, definitely, definitely a lot of the
- 11:06Speaker 2: of that album was recorded around the same time that
- 11:07Speaker 2: you were doing Alfredo too, correct.
- 11:09Speaker 1: I think honestly, those two I recorded both of those
- 11:12Speaker 1: albums together. I think that's probably one of my best
- 11:14Speaker 1: albums ever.
- 11:14Speaker 2: I agree it's the most slept on album.
- 11:17Speaker 1: Yeah, definitely. I think that's one of my best albums
- 11:19Speaker 1: that I ever made, maybe one of my favorites, so
- 11:21Speaker 1: maybe my favorite. On certain days, it is my.
- 11:23Speaker 2: Face And it was like an extension of Triple s
- 11:25Speaker 2: because of What's What's brother Us the guy who.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Plays Jesus Sleep shout out to Sleep Johnson.
- 11:35Speaker 2: He's got the he's got his part on there.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, he is stapling, like you know, just I just.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Think that that run between like Alfredo de Alfredo two
- 11:43Speaker 2: and everything in between is like, yeah.
- 11:45Speaker 1: Man, you know, I've been working real hard and you know,
- 11:48Speaker 1: it's just been showing, bro, and I got more like
- 11:50Speaker 1: I think I'm gonna do. I'm gonna have like a
- 11:52Speaker 1: deluxe for you only die once and like a deluxe
- 11:56Speaker 1: f Alfredo this year. But you know, other than that,
- 11:58Speaker 1: I'm just cruising like film and stuff and performing doing festivals.
- 12:03Speaker 1: I don't think I'm gonna do like a new album
- 12:04Speaker 1: this year or nothing like that.
- 12:05Speaker 2: But the tour had to feel good, man, because you know,
- 12:07Speaker 2: there's a lot of artists whose like ability to sell
- 12:11Speaker 2: hard tickets just isn't there anymore.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree, And.
- 12:13Speaker 2: Like you're able to go to do this sold out tour,
- 12:16Speaker 2: do these giant venues all over the country overseas. I mean,
- 12:21Speaker 2: I feel like that's got to be like that positive
- 12:24Speaker 2: reinforcement because you've had an interesting, like five years, like
- 12:27Speaker 2: ups and downs, public shit going on. Like when you
- 12:30Speaker 2: go in and get in front of those fans and
- 12:32Speaker 2: they sing every fucking lyric and the tickets are sold out,
- 12:34Speaker 2: it's got to feel good.
- 12:35Speaker 1: I mean, you know what, man, it is what it is.
- 12:37Speaker 1: I mean, like you know, you know, life is like
- 12:40Speaker 1: a song man. You can't have a rhythm without the blues.
- 12:42Speaker 1: So you know, you you build off all of that
- 12:45Speaker 1: and you just you know, keep going. I think, you know,
- 12:48Speaker 1: without all of the adversity, you know, I would have
- 12:51Speaker 1: thought the shit was easy. So I ain't never think
- 12:53Speaker 1: the shit was easy. So that made me go harder.
- 12:55Speaker 1: And you know I think that you know, I'm gona
- 12:57Speaker 1: continue to elevate because of that.
- 12:58Speaker 2: So do you think all that adverse he like added
- 13:01Speaker 2: to like just the music. Yeah, this ship's gotta be.
- 13:05Speaker 1: Definitely it's inspiration, you know what I mean. Sometimes you
- 13:07Speaker 1: got to go play in the mud and get dirty,
- 13:09Speaker 1: you know what I mean. You know, and the adn't
- 13:11Speaker 1: gonna get clean, you know what I mean. So I don't.
- 13:15Speaker 1: I don't regret nothing. I don't feel no way about
- 13:18Speaker 1: nothing or nobody. I just don't feel no way about
- 13:21Speaker 1: nobody or nothing. I just like I'm numb to this ship.
- 13:26Speaker 1: And I'm just like, you know, I'm you know, I'm
- 13:29Speaker 1: like war Machine or Iron Man or something. You know.
- 13:31Speaker 1: I don't think I could be.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I was. Me and are gay friend Spencer because
- 13:35Speaker 2: we have a really good LGBTQ friend. We represent the
- 13:38Speaker 2: whole crew, you know, so gay racist Spencer bringing uh no,
- 13:43Speaker 2: so me and they've always talked. We're like, you know,
- 13:45Speaker 2: like all the crazy ship that you've gone through, Like
- 13:49Speaker 2: I don't like nobody else is like coming out on
- 13:51Speaker 2: the other side of this the way it's like just
- 13:55Speaker 2: the just the amount of just like you know, fortitude
- 13:59Speaker 2: that you have to just like still be yourself, not
- 14:03Speaker 2: let it knock you off your pivot, and like just.
- 14:05Speaker 1: You can't take yourself too seriously either, That's the key.
- 14:08Speaker 2: Everybody takes themselves too serious.
- 14:10Speaker 1: But you I think a lot of these dudes take
- 14:11Speaker 1: themselves too seriously and we see right through it. That's fake.
- 14:15Speaker 1: So you know, and it shines through the music, its
- 14:18Speaker 1: it shines through everything they do. So you know, and
- 14:20Speaker 1: you know my and you know my people. I don't
- 14:23Speaker 1: call them my fans. I call them my people, my people.
- 14:24Speaker 1: They know they know, you know what I'm cut with
- 14:29Speaker 1: what I'm cut like, they know what they're gonna get
- 14:32Speaker 1: out of me. They're not ain't gonna half fast my project.
- 14:34Speaker 1: They're not gonna half fast the show. They know, and
- 14:36Speaker 1: they spend their money or whatever to get out they
- 14:40Speaker 1: see them come see me because I know you you know,
- 14:42Speaker 1: you could be doing anything.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Yeah, you gotta get a babysitter sometimes exactly.
- 14:47Speaker 1: So I don't take that for granted, you know what
- 14:49Speaker 1: I mean. It don't matter if I'm performing for you know,
- 14:51Speaker 1: five people with five thousand, you know, I'm always you know,
- 14:55Speaker 1: sell out and do the same show. You know what
- 14:57Speaker 1: I'm saying, Like it is what it is. Like I said,
- 14:59Speaker 1: I got some festivals coming and I'm gonna do some
- 15:01Speaker 1: real special things at the festival. You know what I'm saying.
- 15:03Speaker 1: So I think me and Alchemists got Bonnarou coming up
- 15:06Speaker 1: fire that's gonna be crazy. We got a Governor's ball
- 15:09Speaker 1: that's gonna be cool fire, you know what I mean.
- 15:11Speaker 1: So it's more stuff about to be announced too.
- 15:14Speaker 2: Okay, do you uh to me? Like I've been saying
- 15:19Speaker 2: this forever, I think you're one of the greatest of
- 15:20Speaker 2: all time. I've had you appreciate it, very high on
- 15:23Speaker 2: my list for a long long time, and.
- 15:27Speaker 1: I think that I don't think I get the credit.
- 15:28Speaker 1: I mean, I know, I don't even got to think
- 15:30Speaker 1: about it, you know what I'm saying.
- 15:31Speaker 2: But I want to finish as I say, real quick.
- 15:33Speaker 2: Like I feel like at this point, I don't know,
- 15:36Speaker 2: like there's maybe like five people, six people whose discography
- 15:40Speaker 2: can like really hang with yours, right, and so like
- 15:44Speaker 2: that's like, do you feel like finally people are putting
- 15:49Speaker 2: you in the conversations that you need to be in
- 15:50Speaker 2: and that is like you are one of the goats?
- 15:55Speaker 1: You know what. When I was younger, I used to
- 15:59Speaker 1: really really care about that. But you know, I think
- 16:03Speaker 1: that I've you know, my record speaks for itself. You know,
- 16:07Speaker 1: I think I've elevated myself to a level enough that
- 16:12Speaker 1: I'm not in the so called rap race anymore. You
- 16:18Speaker 1: know what I mean, I'm not competing with nobody, you
- 16:19Speaker 1: know what I mean. I kind of carved my own
- 16:21Speaker 1: lane in this thing. You know what I mean. You
- 16:24Speaker 1: can say what you want and do what you want.
- 16:27Speaker 1: Like I said, the results speak for themselves, you know
- 16:30Speaker 1: what I mean. You can try to keep me out
- 16:33Speaker 1: of the conversation. I feel like a lot of my career,
- 16:35Speaker 1: you know, they always tried to keep me out of
- 16:40Speaker 1: the conversation because I'm not you know, maybe it could
- 16:43Speaker 1: be you know, geographically, because I'm not from a you know,
- 16:46Speaker 1: a certain place in New York, a Los Angeles or
- 16:49Speaker 1: Atlanta or whatever. You know what I mean. I'm from Gary, Indiana.
- 16:52Speaker 1: I'm a one of one. It ain't really nothing like me.
- 16:55Speaker 1: So I mean, you know, it's like where do we
- 16:58Speaker 1: kind of put them in it? You know? That was
- 16:59Speaker 1: the thing earlier in my career when I was, when
- 17:02Speaker 1: I was, when I had my first record deal, they
- 17:04Speaker 1: didn't really know how to market me being from Gary.
- 17:08Speaker 1: So you know, in the industry, still don't and I
- 17:10Speaker 1: showed them how to do it. So it's just like
- 17:14Speaker 1: you know, like I said, man, I'm a one on
- 17:16Speaker 1: one and you know I'm they I've seen this conversation
- 17:22Speaker 1: and you know, I hate to always compare to sports,
- 17:26Speaker 1: but like I heard somebody say, like they was comparing
- 17:31Speaker 1: like Jordan to Lebron, and you know, which is crazy
- 17:34Speaker 1: conversation because there's only one Lebron, There's only one Jordan.
- 17:37Speaker 1: But you know, either way to go. It was basically
- 17:39Speaker 1: saying who the goat or whatnot? And the difference when
- 17:44Speaker 1: Jordan stepped on the court. Somebody said it was like
- 17:46Speaker 1: a fear, you know what I mean. I think that
- 17:50Speaker 1: you know, people you know, tend to shy away from
- 17:54Speaker 1: what they fear. It's probably why you don't see me,
- 17:57Speaker 1: you know on a lot of people records, you know,
- 17:59Speaker 1: doing a lot of like features are really interacting with
- 18:03Speaker 1: you know, the rap game like that. Like I said,
- 18:06Speaker 1: I ain't really in a rap race. And you know
- 18:11Speaker 1: when you when you get on the song with me,
- 18:13Speaker 1: it's a fear. It's a thing you know, you're not
- 18:17Speaker 1: just you know, you know when I come, what comes
- 18:22Speaker 1: with that? You know what I'm saying. So you know
- 18:24Speaker 1: you got to bring whatever kind of a game if
- 18:27Speaker 1: you're one of those competitive rappers. Now, if you want
- 18:29Speaker 1: to just get on the song with me and we
- 18:31Speaker 1: just have fun, we have fun. But you got motherfuckers
- 18:33Speaker 1: in this game and think they Jedi nights when they
- 18:35Speaker 1: really not. So you know, but you know, and that's
- 18:38Speaker 1: why you probably never heard me on the record with
- 18:40Speaker 1: them or things of that nature. So it's like, you know,
- 18:43Speaker 1: like I said, man, when I step in the booth,
- 18:45Speaker 1: it's fear to come along with my name.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Have you ever done a record in like someone took
- 18:49Speaker 2: you off of it or you heard it like later
- 18:50Speaker 2: you're like, wait, I cut something for that.
- 18:52Speaker 1: Yeah, definitely, plenty of times. I've been on albums that
- 18:54Speaker 1: I ain't gonna say which ones, but you know stuff,
- 18:58Speaker 1: then yeah, definitely got taking off and you know what,
- 19:01Speaker 1: And I'm not you know, gonna say that. You know
- 19:04Speaker 1: that they probably you know that the fear was the
- 19:08Speaker 1: fact that they probably just didn't like how I came
- 19:10Speaker 1: on the song. It could be things of that nature.
- 19:12Speaker 2: It could be just like fit.
- 19:13Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it probably didn't fit, you know what I mean.
- 19:15Speaker 1: So I can't say that, you know, in the case
- 19:16Speaker 1: with everybody, you know what I mean. But you know,
- 19:19Speaker 1: like I said, man, when I and they know it's
- 19:22Speaker 1: a it's time to put your hard hat on. When
- 19:25Speaker 1: I get in the booth.
- 19:25Speaker 2: When you talk about the Jedi ship and the NBA analogy,
- 19:30Speaker 2: if you're putting together you're starting five, it's you. I
- 19:33Speaker 2: don't know what position you're playing. How are you feeling
- 19:37Speaker 2: out the Jedi MC starting five, Freddy Gibbs five.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Damn, that's a credit, you know what, Man? I don't know. Man,
- 19:43Speaker 1: I'm not no culture and no plundit. I just know
- 19:45Speaker 1: I'm in it. That's all I can say.
- 19:47Speaker 2: I think Kendrick's on there with you. Yeah, yeah, like
- 19:51Speaker 2: those are the I mean, that's that's true.
- 19:53Speaker 1: That's cool.
- 19:53Speaker 2: Jaco, maybe that's cool.
- 19:55Speaker 1: Yeah, that's cool.
- 19:57Speaker 2: Who's who's the six man?
- 20:00Speaker 1: Not me?
- 20:03Speaker 2: Hey, we got to stop the interview to tell you
- 20:04Speaker 2: about our good folks. Odd Socks.
- 20:06Speaker 1: Man.
- 20:06Speaker 2: Now, these are the odd Socks basics, ladies and gentlemen. Now,
- 20:09Speaker 2: when I tell you this is a product that every

- 20:21Speaker 2: odd Socks is doing is they're kind of reinventing the
- 20:23Speaker 2: sock game. If we're being honest and the underwear game.
- 20:25Speaker 2: You know a lot of times you'll hit Walmart, you'll
- 20:27Speaker 2: hit Target, you'll get some socks, you get some draws.
- 20:30Speaker 2: They're affordable, stand up with holes in them. They don't
- 20:33Speaker 2: really feel great. Not odd Socks, Ladies and gentlemen. These
- 20:36Speaker 2: odd Socks basics are the most comfortable socks I've ever

- 20:57Speaker 1: There we go.
- 20:58Speaker 2: Ah that. Sorry you had to see those white legs.
- 21:03Speaker 2: But it's so dope that, you know, I get to
- 21:06Speaker 2: push a product that I use and that I love,
- 21:08Speaker 2: so odd Socks they got the six pack socks for
- 21:11Speaker 2: fourteen ninety nine a odd socks dot Com the basics.
- 21:14Speaker 2: This is the future of socks, the future of underwear
- 21:18Speaker 2: comfort and affordability. I'm talking about affordability without jeopardizing the
- 21:23Speaker 2: quality because they are the most comfortable socks you ever
- 21:25Speaker 2: put on your feet. Ladies and gents, uh and the ETCeteras.
- 21:29Speaker 2: Got to show love to the ETCeteras. We like all
- 21:31Speaker 2: the stripes on the flag. There are odd socks dot
- 21:34Speaker 2: com man, much love to my brothers over there. Make
- 21:36Speaker 2: sure you get some right now, odd socks dot Com.
- 21:38Speaker 2: Let's get back to the interview. Do you think ever
- 21:41Speaker 2: back to like, you know, the your freshman cover. If
- 21:45Speaker 2: you look at that freshman cover you got, it's Nipsy Coal.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Pill, correct, j.
- 21:52Speaker 2: Rock, Big Sean, Big Sean, Yeah, I don't remember a
- 21:57Speaker 2: Whiz Yeah, definitely Whiz Donnis yep.
- 22:02Speaker 1: I don't remember who else for Sean yep Uh. I
- 22:06Speaker 1: think you named everybody right there. It was only us.
- 22:09Speaker 1: What was before they was putting twenty motherfuckers on there?
- 22:12Speaker 2: Yeah, like an R and B singer, like a ten
- 22:15Speaker 2: spot yeah, and like.
- 22:16Speaker 1: A clothing designer or some ship like that.
- 22:18Speaker 2: Do you remember like that shooting, like just you know,
- 22:21Speaker 2: that was kind of that moment where like you and
- 22:23Speaker 2: Pill were going crazy, you guys are hopping on each
- 22:24Speaker 2: other stuff, you had you had the blog shit going
- 22:28Speaker 2: going nuts. What was that shoot?
- 22:30Speaker 1: Like, I mean it was a different era, man, you
- 22:33Speaker 1: know what I mean? Like you said, that was like
- 22:35Speaker 1: the blog era Freshman cover. I just remember meet Nipsey
- 22:41Speaker 1: at that shoot I already knew Jay Rock.
- 22:46Speaker 2: Yeah, Jay Rock was on Straight Kill.
- 22:48Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. I remember some people was late coming and
- 22:51Speaker 1: we had to like hold up the whole thing.
- 22:52Speaker 2: Surprised you weren't late.
- 22:54Speaker 1: I was on time, man, I wasn't age you guys.
- 22:57Speaker 1: Guys were I from don't get opportunities like that often,
- 22:59Speaker 1: so I had to really make it work. I mean,
- 23:02Speaker 1: to me, I think that's one of the most iconic
- 23:05Speaker 1: you know, freshman covers, that one and the one, the
- 23:07Speaker 1: one the year before and the year after that, So
- 23:10Speaker 1: I think, yeah, yeah, I think those three in a
- 23:12Speaker 1: row were like the most you know, iconic ones in
- 23:16Speaker 1: my opinion. Not to say that nobody that was on
- 23:17Speaker 1: another one is an iconic or anything of that nature,
- 23:20Speaker 1: but I think those collectively probably the best one.
- 23:23Speaker 2: Yeah. When you think back to the blog era, man,
- 23:25Speaker 2: like it was such a special time and like you
- 23:28Speaker 2: had just gotten you got released from Minutes Scope, right, correct,
- 23:32Speaker 2: and then you guys decided to just go crazy with
- 23:34Speaker 2: putting out all this music.
- 23:36Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, I mean it was you know, it wasn't
- 23:38Speaker 1: as simple, but no.
- 23:40Speaker 2: There was a lot that I'm saying, like you get
- 23:42Speaker 2: released and then you know.
- 23:43Speaker 1: You get dropped, that you just go hard. I mean, yeah,
- 23:46Speaker 1: you gotta go hard.
- 23:47Speaker 2: There was so much. I just remember, like you had
- 23:49Speaker 2: so much music coming out. You had the what was
- 23:51Speaker 2: the tape you had where you redid the Masterpiece cover
- 23:54Speaker 2: with Ski?
- 23:55Speaker 1: Oh wow, DJ Ski, It's crazy shout out to j
- 23:58Speaker 1: Ski was something like that.
- 24:04Speaker 2: What was the g I ship?
- 24:05Speaker 1: Uh liver or died? I don't know. I forgot man.
- 24:09Speaker 2: Did you have one that looked like a Lauren Hill cover?
- 24:11Speaker 1: Miseducation? Yeah? I was just dropping you. I was trying
- 24:14Speaker 1: to just like I said, I was just trying to
- 24:15Speaker 1: sharpen up. I don't even think I was. I wasn't ready.
- 24:20Speaker 2: Yet, you know, like like when you were on Interscope.
- 24:25Speaker 1: No, I wasn't ready yet, you know. And I think
- 24:26Speaker 1: that you know, everything you know happens for a reason.
- 24:30Speaker 1: You know, God give you things when when you're supposed
- 24:33Speaker 1: to have them. I wasn't ready yet to step out
- 24:35Speaker 1: there yet as a you know, I had you know,
- 24:38Speaker 1: I had to train, you know. And I think all
- 24:41Speaker 1: of that, those years leading up to that leading up
- 24:44Speaker 1: to like I say, Bandana, I mean not bandana like Pinata,
- 24:51Speaker 1: all the years leading up to everything before that, I
- 24:53Speaker 1: think it was just me just training, you know what
- 24:56Speaker 1: I mean, me learning the industry, me learning how to
- 24:58Speaker 1: be uh what I need to be to sustain you know,
- 25:02Speaker 1: longer than a two or three year career.
- 25:05Speaker 2: Yeah, it's funny because it's like you had kind of
- 25:08Speaker 2: gone through like your own version of like a version
- 25:10Speaker 2: of rap school with the Interscope ship and then being
- 25:13Speaker 2: on your own and then the whole other you know,
- 25:16Speaker 2: experience working with g Z for that little amount of
- 25:18Speaker 2: time or roll with him.
- 25:20Speaker 1: And yeah, and then that was that was instrumental in
- 25:23Speaker 1: my career though, because I learned how to be a pro.
- 25:26Speaker 1: Truth is, you know what I mean being around him.
- 25:28Speaker 1: I hadn't been around anybody of that magnitude yet, you
- 25:32Speaker 1: know what I mean, like uh you know, I mean,
- 25:34Speaker 1: I mean, it's probably a motherfucking thing on the corner
- 25:37Speaker 1: that rap everybody wrap, motherfucker that work at the grocery
- 25:39Speaker 1: store rap. And I was just a rapper at that point,
- 25:43Speaker 1: you know, until I got around g Z and UH
- 25:46Speaker 1: and and Carbon fifteen, and you know, they taught me
- 25:49Speaker 1: how to be a professional at this thing, you know,
- 25:52Speaker 1: so and then I think that's a that's the biggest
- 25:54Speaker 1: thing I took from that, you know, all other bullshit aside,
- 25:57Speaker 1: but that's the that was instrumental.
- 25:59Speaker 2: There was this record that you were on with Eminem
- 26:03Speaker 2: that leaked. Do you remember this? I remember it, but
- 26:07Speaker 2: so there's like blog era, there's like a random leak
- 26:10Speaker 2: that comes out and it's you, Eminem and Geezy. Right, yeah,
- 26:15Speaker 2: it's on the internet.
- 26:17Speaker 1: I heard that. I remember it, but you know, it
- 26:21Speaker 1: was vague, you know, it was I kind of remember it,
- 26:24Speaker 1: but I know what it was. I think it was
- 26:26Speaker 1: something that that Jeezy put together for his album. It
- 26:30Speaker 1: wasn't like for mine or anything. It was just something
- 26:32Speaker 1: that I got on. I'd be in the studio doing
- 26:34Speaker 1: you know, twenty thirty records a day when I was
- 26:36Speaker 1: around them, so that was just another one. I didn't
- 26:39Speaker 1: really think that it was anything for people to right.
- 26:44Speaker 2: I just remember there was a big stink about it.
- 26:45Speaker 2: I don't remember all the details though, but I don't know.
- 26:48Speaker 2: But you obviously have been on the you know, on
- 26:52Speaker 2: the record with so many artists that are that you
- 26:54Speaker 2: obviously I had a like scarface.
- 26:56Speaker 1: We go on and on and on.
- 26:57Speaker 2: Correct who has been like your kind of bucket list
- 27:00Speaker 2: feature that for whatever reason, it just hasn't happened yet
- 27:02Speaker 2: that you would love to, you know, somebody love to
- 27:04Speaker 2: work with mmmm?
- 27:07Speaker 1: Right Eric abadu that I ain't no record with Erica
- 27:10Speaker 1: Bad yet. I really want to do that.
- 27:11Speaker 2: I mean, look, man, Her and Al got their ship.
- 27:14Speaker 1: I know, we just haven't gotten around to it. It
- 27:16Speaker 1: ain't it ain't been like a certain reason, you know,
- 27:21Speaker 1: anything like that, you know, but uh, we just haven't
- 27:24Speaker 1: gotten around to it. I want to do something with
- 27:27Speaker 1: Jill Scott that would be amazing. You know. I'm on
- 27:29Speaker 1: my soul R and B wave, you know what I mean.
- 27:32Speaker 1: Like rappers, you know, it's cool, you know what I mean.
- 27:34Speaker 1: If a rapper want to rap with me, that's great.
- 27:35Speaker 1: But you know, I don't really care about that anymore
- 27:39Speaker 1: at this point in my career. I'm really just trying
- 27:41Speaker 1: to just build myself up as a musician, as you know,
- 27:44Speaker 1: and keep getting getting better and better.
- 27:46Speaker 2: I don't know why. Randomly, I was listening to Meek
- 27:48Speaker 2: Mill at the gym today and I was like, Yo,
- 27:50Speaker 2: Freddie and Meek Mill low key would be crazy, but
- 27:53Speaker 2: I don't know, it's interesting French fries together, fuck you yo.
- 28:01Speaker 2: So when it comes to this acting shit, when because
- 28:05Speaker 2: I feel like for a lot of people, like if
- 28:08Speaker 2: it feels like when you're an artist and you have
- 28:10Speaker 2: some notoriety, you can just fall into some acting without
- 28:13Speaker 2: it necessarily being a passion. Right, Well, what point in
- 28:16Speaker 2: time did you kind of like feel like, oh, I
- 28:20Speaker 2: like this and this is something that like I want
- 28:22Speaker 2: to try to apply myself to.
- 28:25Speaker 1: You know what, maybe as I look back, I probably
- 28:28Speaker 1: wanted to be an actor, probably longer than I wanted
- 28:30Speaker 1: to be a rapper. I always been interested in film
- 28:34Speaker 1: or you know, cinematography, you know, and I just never
- 28:38Speaker 1: you know, knew really knew how to get into that.
- 28:41Speaker 1: You know, not to say that rap was easy to
- 28:43Speaker 1: get into, but uh, you know, it's a you know,
- 28:46Speaker 1: it was the talent I leaned on, and talent that
- 28:49Speaker 1: I you know, pursued, and you know, I knew eventually
- 28:51Speaker 1: that I would eventually get to that. With the way
- 28:56Speaker 1: things are now, I feel like that, I mean, the
- 29:00Speaker 1: position to do things in film kind of sort of
- 29:04Speaker 1: the same way I did things in rap, Like independently,
- 29:07Speaker 1: I could, you know, create my own things. I could
- 29:08Speaker 1: write my own scripts, produce my own things. You know.
- 29:12Speaker 1: You know, I'm you know, well versed in a lot
- 29:14Speaker 1: of things with this stuff, from like shooting my videos.
- 29:16Speaker 1: You know, my videos was kind of like mini films.
- 29:19Speaker 1: When I did the Crime Pays video, That's how I
- 29:22Speaker 1: got my first acting job. So it's like, you know,
- 29:26Speaker 1: I'm not a stranger to construction constructing these things. So
- 29:30Speaker 1: I think that I can just attack the film world
- 29:33Speaker 1: the same way I attack the rap world. You know.
- 29:35Speaker 1: I know I got good people around me that you
- 29:39Speaker 1: know that I would you know, lean on to do
- 29:40Speaker 1: the things that I need them to do. So I
- 29:42Speaker 1: think that I can't have a similar impact.
- 29:44Speaker 2: Do you think you could, like or you would be
- 29:46Speaker 2: interested in like producing your own ship, like finding funding
- 29:49Speaker 2: and just like saying, hey, let's just do it our
- 29:51Speaker 2: own and then shop something.
- 29:52Speaker 1: That's the way to do it.
- 29:53Speaker 2: Man.
- 29:53Speaker 1: I mean, I look at a you know, one of
- 29:55Speaker 1: my main inspirations in this thing is definitely always gonna
- 29:58Speaker 1: be fifty cent from the from the way he maneuvered
- 30:02Speaker 1: through music and a lot of things he's doing with
- 30:04Speaker 1: film is definitely inspiration. I saw the thing that he's
- 30:07Speaker 1: doing in the Shreveport and I was like, that facility
- 30:10Speaker 1: looks that could be something that I could definitely do
- 30:13Speaker 1: in Gary one day. So it's always inspiration, you know,
- 30:15Speaker 1: especially see a black man doing that, you know what
- 30:17Speaker 1: I mean. So I'm definitely inspired and working toward getting
- 30:21Speaker 1: to that level.
- 30:22Speaker 2: Do you have this uh crackhead story that goes viral
- 30:26Speaker 2: on Joe Rogan?
- 30:28Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 30:29Speaker 2: Yeah, and then you have another crazy story that goes
- 30:32Speaker 2: viral because they illustrated about Michael Jackson.
- 30:35Speaker 1: That's true, that's true. Both of those stories are true. Man,
- 30:38Speaker 1: not proud of the crackhead one.
- 30:40Speaker 2: But when you when you go because the crackhead shit
- 30:42Speaker 2: is hilarious because I think you said, like you like
- 30:44Speaker 2: there was like a there might have been a Tech
- 30:46Speaker 2: nine involved or.
- 30:47Speaker 1: Yeah, Joe heard me eating gummies and shit and I
- 30:49Speaker 1: was just saying shit that I should.
- 30:50Speaker 2: That was the longest interview of all time because I
- 30:52Speaker 2: was sitting outside of it. It was four and a
- 30:54Speaker 2: half hours long, and I was like, YEO, what are
- 30:55Speaker 2: we fucking doing here?
- 30:57Speaker 1: Yeah? Luckily nobody got hurt or criminated any further?
- 31:00Speaker 2: Did that did when you go on like that dude
- 31:03Speaker 2: ship does like do you see the like like the
- 31:07Speaker 2: uptick in like followers or because I was you know,
- 31:09Speaker 2: it's such a form, like does it like move the needle.
- 31:13Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I love Joe, Joe. Joe, Joe's Joe's my guy.
- 31:17Speaker 1: Joe still owe me like fifty thousand dollars one hundred thousand,
- 31:21Speaker 1: or I haven't he much he got to do? You
- 31:23Speaker 1: know what I'm talking about. He owed me a donation,
- 31:26Speaker 1: oh donation. Yeah, he owed me a donation to the
- 31:28Speaker 1: black community. But we'll talking about you know what I'm
- 31:30Speaker 1: talking about.
- 31:30Speaker 2: Hey, Draco's me fifty grand oh.
- 31:33Speaker 1: Yeah, from that Phoenix Suns. I remember that you were there.
- 31:35Speaker 1: I was there. I remember that. Drake can't get out
- 31:38Speaker 1: of that. I was there. I witnessed that bit.
- 31:42Speaker 2: He told me Steph Curry and the Warriors were gonna
- 31:44Speaker 2: go further than the Suns, and that year the Sons
- 31:46Speaker 2: went to the finals.
- 31:47Speaker 1: Yep, that's true, and uh it is.
- 31:50Speaker 2: I mean, listen, I don't think Drake's doing me any favors.
- 31:53Speaker 1: Yeah, but I was there. I just want to know
- 31:54Speaker 1: you I was there for that bit.
- 31:56Speaker 2: Yeah. And for all the fucking crazy, stupid people on Twitter,
- 32:00Speaker 2: you're crazy for bringing up the coincidence of this fucking
- 32:03Speaker 2: cartoon rabbit. You guys fucking kicked it for we all
- 32:07Speaker 2: hung out for like two hours hey Man and shot
- 32:10Speaker 2: the ship. Drake was a big fan of yours. He
- 32:13Speaker 2: was talking about specific joints of yours. He was talking
- 32:15Speaker 2: about trying to get on triple les. You don't have
- 32:19Speaker 2: to say it, because I could.
- 32:20Speaker 1: Fucking I'm a big fan man. I'm a fan of everybody. Man.
- 32:23Speaker 2: Would you ever if you got You've had your fair
- 32:25Speaker 2: share of beefs. Would you ever sue someone if you
- 32:27Speaker 2: got into a beef with them?
- 32:30Speaker 1: Damn? That's a good question.
- 32:32Speaker 2: Mm hmm, let's say it, Miss stays on record.
- 32:37Speaker 1: It's just Vinyl me and my twenties. I wouldn't do it.
- 32:40Speaker 2: But no, no, maybe in your fifties.
- 32:42Speaker 1: Man, that the text paying American that I am nowadays.
- 32:46Speaker 1: Maybe you never know, depends on what it is. You know.
- 32:49Speaker 2: It didn't work for Aubrey, that's all.
- 32:52Speaker 1: Oh, I wouldn't have sue for that. I wouldn't did that. Yeah,
- 32:56Speaker 1: I want to you know, if we got a suit
- 32:58Speaker 1: and we got a suit for something serious but not
- 33:00Speaker 1: you know, not that. Yeah?
- 33:02Speaker 2: What what was your thoughts? Just like, you're obviously hip
- 33:04Speaker 2: hop and you're a fan of Kendrick and Drake. Drake's
- 33:06Speaker 2: incredible Kendrick and did you enjoy the twenty twenty four
- 33:12Speaker 2: b Renaissance.
- 33:13Speaker 1: Yeah, it was fun. It was fun. There's a lot
- 33:15Speaker 1: of you know, back and forth and stuff. I went
- 33:18Speaker 1: to some of the concerts and stuff.
- 33:20Speaker 2: Could you go to Pop Out?
- 33:21Speaker 1: Oh? I didn't go to that. I was crazy.
- 33:24Speaker 2: Did you go to any any of the Kendrick Stadium stuff?
- 33:29Speaker 1: My daughter definitely wanted me to take her. Yeah, she
- 33:31Speaker 1: bugged me. I took her to one of the shows. Yeah,
- 33:36Speaker 1: it won't gona let me breathe by it. Take there
- 33:38Speaker 1: to go see see one of those shows. Yeah.
- 33:40Speaker 2: I was like, finally beef that Freddy's not involved in it.
- 33:46Speaker 1: Yeah, let me watch them the sideline. Man, I love
- 33:49Speaker 1: everybody Man twenty twenty six.
- 33:50Speaker 2: Man, it's like, so, what what did you learn because
- 33:57Speaker 2: you're very much around vultures and yeah, uh, you know,
- 34:03Speaker 2: you talked about kind of how Geez had taught you
- 34:05Speaker 2: how to be a professional. What did you learn about
- 34:09Speaker 2: being around Yay so much?
- 34:12Speaker 1: That's a good question. He definitely, Uh is one of
- 34:19Speaker 1: the most creative people that I've ever been around. So
- 34:26Speaker 1: that side of thinking outside the box, being a little
- 34:29Speaker 1: bit more creative, pushing limits, that's really the the positive
- 34:35Speaker 1: things that I got from being around Kanye at long,
- 34:39Speaker 1: just seeing seeing him work in his space and be creative,
- 34:42Speaker 1: and and TOI dollar Sign as well about Aliens. You know,
- 34:47Speaker 1: one of the I tell people every time all the time,
- 34:49Speaker 1: he's one of the best musicians I ever worked with,
- 34:51Speaker 1: you know what I mean, because he can do everything great,
- 34:54Speaker 1: you know what I mean. So shout out to Todd
- 34:57Speaker 1: dollar Sign I case. You know, just working with those
- 35:00Speaker 1: guys gave me, like I said, just gave me some inspiration,
- 35:04Speaker 1: you know what I mean. I might not have I wish,
- 35:07Speaker 1: you know, the project would have went further and more
- 35:12Speaker 1: the stuff that we worked on, would the guy released.
- 35:15Speaker 1: But you know that's.
- 35:17Speaker 2: I talked to Yae like the night, like, so there's
- 35:21Speaker 2: this like vultures thing in Vegas and you and I
- 35:23Speaker 2: both invited me.
- 35:24Speaker 3: So I come out and yeah, I remember that you
- 35:27Speaker 3: were fucked up by the way, But I ended up
- 35:31Speaker 3: talking to Kanye that night and I'm just talking.
- 35:34Speaker 2: I'm like, yo, Freddy killed that ship and he was
- 35:36Speaker 2: like yeah, So Kanye talks about like we're gonna do
- 35:39Speaker 2: a whole thing, you know. So you guys had like
- 35:42Speaker 2: talked about or doing an entire Yay Freddy album project.
- 35:47Speaker 2: I know you had shared stuff with me. Was there
- 35:51Speaker 2: like how much of that was worked on? If anything
- 35:54Speaker 2: was there, like and was that something that like you
- 35:57Speaker 2: felt like, oh that this might actually happen.
- 36:00Speaker 1: Records there, Yeah, it's some records. There's some songs that
- 36:02Speaker 1: we got.
- 36:03Speaker 2: Is there you and I got someone really shited stuff.
- 36:06Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, yeah, I got some records. And you know,
- 36:11Speaker 1: I mean most importantly, you know, you know Funk all
- 36:15Speaker 1: of the records and all of that ship. You know,
- 36:17Speaker 1: I think that you know, it's you know, you just
- 36:20Speaker 1: got to just like you know, pray for Yay and
- 36:23Speaker 1: just hope that he get back to where he's supposed
- 36:26Speaker 1: to be, you know, and because uh, you know that's
- 36:29Speaker 1: really all that matter, you know what I mean, Because
- 36:32Speaker 1: if that don't happen, and you know, ain't nothing, it
- 36:33Speaker 1: ain't no music or nothing coming out. So I just
- 36:36Speaker 1: want him to just get to the space he needs
- 36:37Speaker 1: to be in, you know what I mean, like whatever
- 36:39Speaker 1: whatever that is.
- 36:40Speaker 2: Yeah. I feel like sometimes like we all forget like
- 36:42Speaker 2: he's bipolar, and like I got bipolar people in my life,
- 36:46Speaker 2: you know what I mean.
- 36:46Speaker 1: Like, yeah, I mean sometimes I'm a little bipolar so
- 36:48Speaker 1: I told him most of the time, I'm a Gemini man,
- 36:52Speaker 1: you know too, so Isy, Yeah, birthdays like six days apart.
- 36:58Speaker 2: Do you think because because I feel like you're verse
- 37:00Speaker 2: on Back to Me was like one of the best
- 37:01Speaker 2: verses of the year when it came out, and like
- 37:04Speaker 2: it kind of felt like, you know, Lebron blocking Staph
- 37:08Speaker 2: in the finals, like just just peak performance. What what
- 37:15Speaker 2: what is that session like? And what's kind of the
- 37:16Speaker 2: reaction everybody when they hear you get that ship off?
- 37:19Speaker 1: I mean, like I said, man, like when I strike fear,
- 37:25Speaker 1: when I go into booth, you know what I mean?
- 37:27Speaker 1: Like it was I wasn't the only person on that song.
- 37:30Speaker 1: Who else was on it? Even say that, okay, but
- 37:34Speaker 1: I wasn't the only other rapper on that song. It
- 37:36Speaker 1: wasn't the only other I wasn't the only person that
- 37:38Speaker 1: he you know, peaked, you know. I mean, I just
- 37:42Speaker 1: you know, that was my first time really working with him,
- 37:45Speaker 1: and when I stepped in there, I'm in business. And
- 37:49Speaker 1: that's the same attitude I carried, you know, throughout the
- 37:53Speaker 1: whole time he was working on Vultures and everything else.
- 37:56Speaker 1: So you know, my goal is just to go in
- 37:59Speaker 1: there and make a amen. I did that, you know
- 38:01Speaker 1: what I mean? And what however many bars that was?
- 38:03Speaker 1: He ain't take me that long. I probably wrote that
- 38:05Speaker 1: verse in like five ten minutes.
- 38:06Speaker 2: I mean, obviously it's probably Ay's decision to be like,
- 38:08Speaker 2: we got to take this other guy off.
- 38:10Speaker 1: This is crazy.
- 38:11Speaker 2: Guys, guys, oh did you help? Because he is known
- 38:15Speaker 2: to have like get help with bars and ship? Were
- 38:18Speaker 2: you helping him with any lines while you guys are recording?
- 38:22Speaker 2: You know, he never hides it, he's I think that he.
- 38:24Speaker 1: Was always working together, man, you know what I mean.
- 38:26Speaker 1: I think that that.
- 38:27Speaker 2: I think that's what because his verse was hard on
- 38:29Speaker 2: that too, of course, yeah.
- 38:30Speaker 1: I think that. Uh. What made that, what made that
- 38:33Speaker 1: whole process for me great was seeing how he works,
- 38:36Speaker 1: you know how it's such a collective effort, you know
- 38:38Speaker 1: what I mean. I won't take the credit for nothing
- 38:40Speaker 1: that a legend like him, does, you know what I mean?
- 38:43Speaker 1: All I could say is, you know, I definitely brought
- 38:44Speaker 1: my oro to the room, into the music.
- 38:47Speaker 2: You have these relationships with producers. Shout out to mad Lib.
- 38:53Speaker 2: You guys killed it at right? Was it that the Greek?
- 38:56Speaker 1: Yeah, the Greek? The Greek.
- 38:59Speaker 2: I don't remember.
- 39:00Speaker 1: It's one of my favorite shows I ever did. Degree.
- 39:03Speaker 2: Obviously, you guys have two classics together. Ye, you and
- 39:05Speaker 2: now have two classics together. Damn near three because I
- 39:08Speaker 2: consider you and Spintish shit is up there too.
- 39:10Speaker 1: But yeah, that is up there. It is classic. That's definitely.
- 39:15Speaker 2: What like each one of those guys is so different?
- 39:19Speaker 2: What is kind of like the thing about each one
- 39:22Speaker 2: of them that you gotta know, like, Okay, if I'm
- 39:24Speaker 2: gonna get in with al, I gotta approach it this way.
- 39:25Speaker 2: If I gotta get in with mad Lib, I gotta
- 39:27Speaker 2: approach it this way. Is there is there any like
- 39:31Speaker 2: starch difference between the creative process with those two.
- 39:33Speaker 1: Guys, not necessarily to me at all? In it twines
- 39:38Speaker 1: because to me, without a pinata and bandana, I wouldn't
- 39:42Speaker 1: have a outfront from one and two, you know what
- 39:45Speaker 1: I mean. So it's I think that mad Lib it
- 39:49Speaker 1: was kind of like the sense say that like sharpened
- 39:51Speaker 1: my skills, you know what I mean for me to
- 39:53Speaker 1: even like get in that arena to like do those
- 39:55Speaker 1: albums with Alchemists. So you know, coming off of those two,
- 40:00Speaker 1: like you said classics something like you said that because
- 40:02Speaker 1: you know. I mean, there ain't too many rappers that
- 40:04Speaker 1: got multiple classics. That's neither here nor there. That's neither
- 40:08Speaker 1: here nor there. But you know, coming off of those two,
- 40:11Speaker 1: like you said, classic albums, you know, it gave me
- 40:15Speaker 1: the confidence to walk into our studio and like, yo,
- 40:18Speaker 1: I'm about to do the same thing. I'm not about
- 40:20Speaker 1: to waste your time like we were about the world
- 40:23Speaker 1: tour this shit. We're about to make a like I said,
- 40:27Speaker 1: another classic. So we did it back to back. So
- 40:29Speaker 1: I mean, and you know, I think that speaks volumes?
- 40:32Speaker 2: Is it each time? Because I'm assuming you're never getting
- 40:36Speaker 2: just beat sent to you by those guys. You have
- 40:38Speaker 2: to be in with them when you record them or
- 40:40Speaker 2: is it?
- 40:40Speaker 1: It depends on man. You know, we be on the road,
- 40:42Speaker 1: We all on the road, we all fathers, you know
- 40:44Speaker 1: what I mean. So it's like, you know, sometime whatever's convenient,
- 40:47Speaker 1: you know, I definitely get in with them for you know,
- 40:51Speaker 1: most of these projects, you know what I mean. So
- 40:53Speaker 1: it's you know, it's a blessing to just be able
- 40:56Speaker 1: to just walk in the studio with those guys.
- 40:58Speaker 2: You know, it feels like it would only make sense
- 41:01Speaker 2: that like sometime in the next five years you do
- 41:03Speaker 2: offer eight on three. I mean, you know, just trying
- 41:07Speaker 2: to think what kind of noodles we could get in
- 41:09Speaker 2: there this time.
- 41:09Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I was thinking about that too. But you know,
- 41:12Speaker 1: I mean right now, I'm so like video maybe. Oh no, man,
- 41:16Speaker 1: Like I haven't really been tuned into really like doing
- 41:19Speaker 1: no music lately. I've been so like wrapped up in
- 41:21Speaker 1: the film side, like you know, reading and auditioning and
- 41:24Speaker 1: creating on that side. Like I said, man, I thank
- 41:27Speaker 1: God for rap. You know, It's given me, you know,
- 41:30Speaker 1: things that I, you know, never would imagine, you know,
- 41:33Speaker 1: a life that I never would imagine having. And you know,
- 41:36Speaker 1: I'm glad that you know, we had such you know,
- 41:40Speaker 1: even having you know, such success the past a few years.
- 41:43Speaker 1: Now I can like kind of take some time and
- 41:46Speaker 1: really like, you know, focus on other passions. You know.
- 41:48Speaker 1: I thank God for that.
- 41:49Speaker 2: Yeah, do you Because you've you and I have talked
- 41:53Speaker 2: a lot, and you're always like flirting with the idea
- 41:55Speaker 2: of like quitting or retiring or stepping away.
- 41:58Speaker 1: I think about it a lot. I mean, I mean,
- 42:00Speaker 1: you just named you just named off four classic albums.
- 42:03Speaker 1: What do I have left to prove?
- 42:04Speaker 2: Ship do some more, like when you come off a
- 42:09Speaker 2: sold out tour the way you just did, it's like,
- 42:11Speaker 2: oh ship, Like I mean, this is still working.
- 42:14Speaker 1: Four classics out, four classic albums. I mean I'm always
- 42:18Speaker 1: be able to tour, you know what I mean, Like
- 42:20Speaker 1: the Grateful Dead can still tour. So you know, I'm
- 42:24Speaker 1: always get my fans what they want, you know, and
- 42:26Speaker 1: you know, I feel like I gave them, you know,
- 42:28Speaker 1: pieces of art that's gonna you know, live forever, you
- 42:31Speaker 1: know what I mean. So when if and when I
- 42:35Speaker 1: do decide to go back and do another project, you know,
- 42:42Speaker 1: it's got to be something special, man, you know what
- 42:44Speaker 1: I mean. Like I said, I don't I don't feel
- 42:47Speaker 1: like I got anything left to prove on the wrap side.
- 42:49Speaker 1: I ain't even really in the rap.
- 42:50Speaker 2: Race, right, and you just kind of I mean, you
- 42:52Speaker 2: built your own universe. Like if the rap world wants
- 42:55Speaker 2: to come inside, they can come inside.
- 42:57Speaker 1: If not, you know, I don't. I don't want to
- 42:59Speaker 1: be compared to like nobody no more. I want to
- 43:02Speaker 1: be my own thing. So it's uh, you know, when
- 43:04Speaker 1: I when I do decide to like if I decide
- 43:10Speaker 1: to do that, then you know it's definitely got to
- 43:13Speaker 1: be some special, something worthwhile and something.
- 43:15Speaker 2: That maybe like an album with Kate Trinada. Oh, I
- 43:19Speaker 2: mean I saw you talked about that. Is that a thing?
- 43:21Speaker 1: I love Kate Trinada. Man, that's definitely my homie. I
- 43:25Speaker 1: definitely he working on some music right now, and I
- 43:27Speaker 1: definitely are with him. Helped him assist in some music
- 43:31Speaker 1: that he was working on. But as far as like me,
- 43:33Speaker 1: like nah, like as far as like the album with me,
- 43:37Speaker 1: I mean, like I said, we flirt with those ideas
- 43:40Speaker 1: and stuff like that, but I ain't working on nothing
- 43:43Speaker 1: right now. Like for me, I'm just you know, I
- 43:46Speaker 1: just got a new dog.
- 43:47Speaker 2: So this is Teddy. I was hoping to.
- 43:52Speaker 1: Chilling. Man, he chilling, man, I just got a dog.
- 43:54Speaker 3: Man.
- 43:54Speaker 1: I just been chilling on my kids. Man. And you know,
- 43:57Speaker 1: like I said, trying to create other things and just show, uh,
- 44:01Speaker 1: you know, more of what I can do. You know.
- 44:04Speaker 2: On the entertainment side, I would love if you and
- 44:06Speaker 2: like obviously you and Tyler have worked together. Don't have
- 44:08Speaker 2: so much stuff throughout your career, but I feel like
- 44:10Speaker 2: you and Tyler working on some sort of wow a movie.
- 44:14Speaker 1: We gotta we got we got. I think we got
- 44:16Speaker 1: some records that he didn't use. We definitely got some stuff,
- 44:19Speaker 1: some unheard stuff that he.
- 44:20Speaker 2: Got on just even away from the music, just like
- 44:22Speaker 2: you guys doing some funny ship.
- 44:24Speaker 1: Hey, I love that. I mean, you know, it's hard
- 44:27Speaker 1: to get a rich nigga like that on the phone,
- 44:28Speaker 1: so you know.
- 44:32Speaker 2: It is kind of crazy. Like I was at camp
- 44:34Speaker 2: flogging and I was like, this is fucking crazy. Like
- 44:37Speaker 2: I remember like editing this dude's song is in like
- 44:39Speaker 2: twenty eleven.
- 44:40Speaker 1: Yeah, once I seen that nigga and that Marty Supreme ship,
- 44:42Speaker 1: I was like, he done.
- 44:43Speaker 2: I'm like, all right, man, but I feel like that's
- 44:45Speaker 2: you're like, you're gonna have a Marty Supreme moment, very
- 44:48Speaker 2: very shy.
- 44:48Speaker 1: I just got to get up there. I just gotta
- 44:49Speaker 1: keep it out of the tiler man. That's that's that's
- 44:52Speaker 1: that's that's amazing.
- 44:54Speaker 2: So you guys have a lot of unreleased stuff.
- 44:56Speaker 1: We got some stuff. Yeah, he got you gotta let
- 44:58Speaker 1: you hear.
- 44:59Speaker 2: Is you think. I feel like Tyler's one of the
- 45:01Speaker 2: most improved mcs of the last like fifteen years or so.
- 45:05Speaker 2: If you just look at his like growth to growth,
- 45:07Speaker 2: project to project, he's one of them ones yeah yeah,
- 45:10Speaker 2: fire yeah. So hey, we gotta wrap up this interview,
- 45:14Speaker 2: another one presented by Hardan. Baby you already know what
- 45:17Speaker 2: it is. Shout out to Hardeen for presenting another episode
- 45:20Speaker 2: of the bootle Like podcast. Don't forget when you're in Vegas,
- 45:23Speaker 2: you're getting that tax, you getting that uber say take
- 45:24Speaker 2: me to Hardean, the number one cannabis dispensary in the world.
- 45:29Speaker 2: Premium selection of the craziest gas you could ever ask for,
- 45:32Speaker 2: and then they break down all what all the turps mean.
- 45:34Speaker 2: It's incredible. Go to Hardan underscore Las Vegas, shoot him
- 45:38Speaker 2: a follow and when you're in Las Vegas and make
- 45:39Speaker 2: sure you shoot them a visit. Do you feel like
- 45:44Speaker 2: if you let's fast forward, if you could play somebody,
- 45:49Speaker 2: Let's say there's like a you know, we saw Denzel
- 45:51Speaker 2: play Malcolm X. Who would you What's a historical figure
- 45:56Speaker 2: you would like to play in a movie.
- 45:58Speaker 1: Oh. I was just telling my friend it's just crazy
- 46:00Speaker 1: because I was watching Dave Chappelle special. So fuck my
- 46:05Speaker 1: dream my dream role. Really, you know this wild probably
- 46:08Speaker 1: be very difficult, well off, but Jack Johnson the boxer, Yeah,
- 46:14Speaker 1: I would love to do that. I would love to
- 46:17Speaker 1: you know, be involved in creating a film centered around him.
- 46:21Speaker 2: It's kind of crazy that, like that was a story that,
- 46:24Speaker 2: like it's not very big because and.
- 46:29Speaker 1: You know why, I think it was knocking white people
- 46:33Speaker 1: out and fucking their bitches. So, I mean, it is
- 46:35Speaker 1: what it is. It's like Dave Chapelle said, But I
- 46:38Speaker 1: definitely think it's you know, especially like I said, coming
- 46:40Speaker 1: off Chappelle Special and looking at that, it's definitely a
- 46:43Speaker 1: story that needs to be told. Oh my bad.
- 46:47Speaker 2: No, I feel like there needs to be a movie.
- 46:48Speaker 1: It definitely needs to be a movie, you know what
- 46:50Speaker 1: I'm saying.
- 46:50Speaker 2: So you have flirted with comedy a lot.
- 46:54Speaker 1: Oh yeah, definitely.
- 46:55Speaker 2: You've done some stand up, hosted some stand up show, My.
- 46:59Speaker 1: Own Comedy Special, Cocaine Comedy.
- 47:01Speaker 2: Are you? Is that something that obviously I feel like
- 47:05Speaker 2: a lot of the ship you do is pretty like
- 47:06Speaker 2: improv off the cuff.
- 47:08Speaker 1: Yeah, pretty much.
- 47:09Speaker 2: But that's like its own world too.
- 47:11Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, like I'm I wouldn't dare step on
- 47:15Speaker 1: the toes of a comedian and be like, oh, I'm
- 47:17Speaker 1: a comedian, you know what I'm saying. Rappert like, but
- 47:20Speaker 1: I love the genre. I love the art form of it.
- 47:23Speaker 1: Or I love being involved in it. I love introducing
- 47:27Speaker 1: people to like new comedians. So it's like, you know,
- 47:29Speaker 1: when I do my little comedy thing, I kind of
- 47:31Speaker 1: do it in the sense of like a take a
- 47:33Speaker 1: page that like Martin Lawrence's book, and uh, you know,
- 47:37Speaker 1: kind of entertain the crowd a little bit and then
- 47:38Speaker 1: bring out the guys that are really you know, those.
- 47:42Speaker 2: Dogs, like what Steve Harvey did on The Kings of Comedy.
- 47:45Speaker 2: Steve Harvey just he hosted it. He kind of did.
- 47:47Speaker 1: Let you know, I mean, nah, come on, motherfucker, don't
- 47:50Speaker 1: take credit. Steve Harvey is a real comedian. Of course
- 47:54Speaker 1: he put the work in. That's what I'm saying. That's like,
- 47:57Speaker 1: you know, those guys I see the life of com
- 48:00Speaker 1: those guys are some of those motherfuckers on stage three
- 48:03Speaker 1: times a night. You know what I'm saying.
- 48:06Speaker 2: It is rough.
- 48:07Speaker 1: It's a rough life.
- 48:07Speaker 2: So most people don't make it.
- 48:10Speaker 1: They don't and you gotta respect it. That's why the
- 48:12Speaker 1: motherfuckers that come up in that game. I got a
- 48:14Speaker 1: high respect for those guys. That's why I don't I
- 48:18Speaker 1: would never shit on them or take nothing that they
- 48:20Speaker 1: do for granted. Because it's It's definitely a difficult job.
- 48:23Speaker 2: It's very similar to the rap game. Man, there's like
- 48:26Speaker 2: zero glory, there's zero money until like.
- 48:29Speaker 1: You win a lot of you gotta pay your fucking dues,
- 48:32Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. And if anybody know about
- 48:34Speaker 1: paying their dues and anything, and it's me good lord,
- 48:36Speaker 1: but you know what I'm saying. It is what it is.
- 48:40Speaker 1: Crack no more. By the way, I don't know what
- 48:41Speaker 1: it's keep going on.
- 48:45Speaker 2: Selling crack. By the way, do people still smoke crack?
- 48:49Speaker 2: I feel like fetnaus.
- 48:50Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, there's still some pockets of cracked.
- 48:54Speaker 2: I don't think in La there's any pockets of crack.
- 48:57Speaker 2: Maybe there is that I feel like there's We were
- 49:00Speaker 2: downtown last week, me and Spencer for the Burner shit
- 49:04Speaker 2: and at motherfuckers were fentonel what do they call it
- 49:09Speaker 2: when they're when they have like the their bodies look
- 49:12Speaker 2: like ends, like lowercase ends. The fent lean. Oh that
- 49:16Speaker 2: shit's crazy.
- 49:17Speaker 1: Yeah, the fling You seen the daughters type of me
- 49:20Speaker 1: right now? She got volleyball practice, uh soccer practice.
- 49:25Speaker 2: Did you ever think like, uh fentanel would take off
- 49:28Speaker 2: as a former drug dealer.
- 49:29Speaker 1: That I think Fittanyel would take it's kind of crazy.
- 49:32Speaker 2: Yeah, motherfuckers is really out here, just just gambling every
- 49:36Speaker 2: fucking this thing. I feel like crack at least you
- 49:38Speaker 2: have like a good five to ten year run before
- 49:40Speaker 2: you know.
- 49:41Speaker 1: Yeah, cracker, I mean you think crack is dangerous. You know,
- 49:45Speaker 1: they made crack to take the black community out, you
- 49:47Speaker 1: know what I mean. Really to be honest, and that
- 49:49Speaker 1: fittan al is taking everybody out, you know what I mean.
- 49:52Speaker 1: It ain't just a black problem or a Latino problem.
- 49:56Speaker 1: Is like, this is an everybody problem. I see more
- 49:58Speaker 1: white people on fittanol and anything leaning on the corner,
- 50:03Speaker 1: you know, stuff like that. I mean, it's just a
- 50:06Speaker 1: you know, I don't know. I don't support drugs, man, but.
- 50:08Speaker 2: They do this ship in Philly called Trank. Have you
- 50:10Speaker 2: heard of this bro So in Philly there's an area

- 51:54Speaker 1: We always got to worry about Green Bay. I ain't
- 51:56Speaker 1: really worried about Minnesota. They ain't got no quarterback.
- 52:01Speaker 2: They see a lot of men in Chicago getting there

- 56:14Speaker 1: and stuff that I, you know, project out there a
- 56:17Speaker 1: little more serious than I do. You know, they probably

- 56:40Speaker 1: invented the way people use their Instagram story. Yeah, people
- 56:44Speaker 1: ain't gonna get me credit for that, but I invented that,

- 56:48Speaker 1: to like putting bullshit, it's it's thousands of like pages
- 56:53Speaker 1: dedicated to shit like that now, but back in when
- 56:55Speaker 1: it was that like twenty nineteen eighteen. Yeah, I'm the

- 59:23Speaker 1: Vegas or something like that. Yeah, birthday, you know what
- 59:26Speaker 1: I mean.
- 59:26Speaker 2: I tell the story that the worst night of my
- 59:28Speaker 2: life was shroming with you in Texas. Yeah, Yeah, that
- 59:31Speaker 2: I was fucked. That was amazing, And we ended up
- 59:34Speaker 2: with a Yellow Rose, that wash, the Yellow Rose, Red Rose,
- 59:37Speaker 2: Yellow Rolls, take a pic, Take the Red. The Red's
- 59:39Speaker 2: the best one. The Red's got more of my speed
- 59:42Speaker 2: of ethnicity. Yeah, Yellow Rose. If you like white women
- 59:45Speaker 2: in Yellow Rose. Yeah, well, shit, man, the movie's out.
- 59:52Speaker 2: I'm assuming like, since it's an independent movie, have you
- 59:56Speaker 2: guys already figured out the streaming side of.
- 59:57Speaker 1: It, like where it's gonna I don't know exactly. That's
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: you know, that's more of a Ryan Prowse question, but uh,
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: it's gonna be streaming for sure if it's in theaters,
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: and you know, you'll be able to get it somewhere.
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: You know, at least on Prime.
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: Yeah, definitely, definitely.
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: You know, like do you get updates on like because
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: you guys aren't in that many theaters, So do you
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: get like any sort of update on like how the
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: movie's doing?
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: Is that? Like? Nah, I just kind of just gauge
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: it off. You know. It's kind of like I do
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: with music, because you know, the people talking about it,
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: people talking to me about it. You know, I just
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: gauge it off that, you know what I mean? And
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: you know, if my fans you know, supported me, and
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: and if some of them, if half of them support
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: the movie. I mean I can't ask for you know
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: more than that.
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: Man, You've been nominated for a Grammy?
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: Correct?
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: Is your next goal to be nominated for an Oscar?
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: Maybe for a Golden Globe?
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: Hopefully. I just saw Tianna Taylor win a Golden Globe
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: and that was very watch that movie.
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: That ship was crazy. Watched it, Oh, Shan, it's fucking
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: wild and that.
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: He was he was Yeah, he was crazy. He was
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: crazy in that ship. So yeah, that was real inspiring.
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: You know, whatever ward they want to give me, you
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: know what I mean, Like, you know, Grammy whatever, I
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: don't even matter.
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: Do you still like obviously being nominated matters. I feel
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: like you got snub dish this last one pretty pretty wildly,
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: to be honest. Does that is that that kind of
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: shit bother you? Or is that ship you still care about?
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: Like it would be nice to have that on the mantle.
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: I'll say this, Uh, for me to sit up and say, oh,
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: you don't do it for you know, accolades and awards,
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: you know what I mean, that would kind of be
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: you know, a fake answer. I mean, of course, anybody
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: wants to be recognized by their peers and you know,
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: and by the people of the industry for the work
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: you've done. But when I'm not, I don't, uh you know,
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: I ain't gonna cry about it or or or trip.
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: I just you know, add that as you know, some
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: more fuel to the fire, and you know, to keep
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: doing what I'm doing. You know what I mean. I
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: don't gotta I don't gotta spell it out, man, you know,
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: I don't gotta fake it. I don't need you know,
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: I don't need nobody to pin the tale on the
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: motherfucking donkey r like I you know, I everybody knows
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: I had the best you know, or one of the
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: best rap albums of last year. I mean, like the
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: proof is in the fucking pudding. Like you said, I'm
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: selling hard tickets, you know what I mean. The shows
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: is packed every night, the merchandise is are doing extremely well.
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: So it's all about the you know what I mean,
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: Like who's making an impact? Because you know, it's a
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: lot of albums that got nominated ahead of mine, But uh,
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: whose album we're gonna remember five years from now? Fact
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: you feel me and I'm not, you know, And that's
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: not a slight to anybody in this year's category, because
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: you know, I.
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: Fel incredible deserving albums.
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: Everybody, everybody there deserves it, you know what I mean.
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: But uh, you know, if I'm not nominated, then U
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: I'm definitely at least going to be remembered. And I
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: end this by saying this when I did get nominated,
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: and then when it didn't matter, because I mean, my
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: album is more memorable than an album that one it,
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: so what does it matter? And there you go, Fellas, Yeah,
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: I agree, I agree. I mean they called minoclassic. I
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: don't think they called that one a classic.
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: Yeah. I think this year there was like three four
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: albums where I was like, yeah, I can see it.
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: There was one where it was just like it's a
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: major like it's a major label.
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: Shit.
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: I'm like, you know, and I feel like that. That's
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: the other thing that like.
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: So you know, so I don't, I don't, I don't trip. Yeah,
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: I knew the fix was in in twenty.
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: Even like even the Insulada like best like rap performance
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: would have been I mean, Jesus, like I.
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: Said, and that alone right there, like twenty twenty let
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: me know. Like I said, I knew the fix was
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: in in twenty twenty, so it is what it is.
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: Do you think a record like Ensulada is like in
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: your I feel like that's like a top five Freddy song.
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: Ever, Yeah, definitely, definitely. Shout out to Anderson Park. I'm
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: sad that we haven't got around and shooting the video
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: yet because you know, we obviously both been working. But
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: you know, maybe we'll get to that sooner or later.
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: But he came out at the show in la dress
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: as Chucky.
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: Yes he did, Yes, he did. It was like Halloween weekend,
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: so yeah, he was definitely there's Chucky. Appreciate him for that.
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: But uh, that would be a dope joint album if
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: you want, you and Anderson.
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: Oh, tell somebody to cut the check and we can
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: get to it.
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: That would be crazy. Well listen, Freddy, I appreciate you
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: pulling up the movies out control. Go to your theater
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: and see it. Spencer, your gay Spencer. Our shout out
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: to our boy Spencer, who couldn't be here because he
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: was busy hosting a blowjob competition at his house. There's
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: only one contestant and it was him. So he won.
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: Congrats to Spencer Green for being the best cocksucker in Corona, California.
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: Uh night, patrols out. Now, hopefully we get some new
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: music in twenty Are we getting new music in twenty

- 1:05:31Speaker 2: I'll say that, But are we gonna get some music?
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: Maybe?
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: But no album this year? Album not even like December.
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: We're gonna get Autum in twenty seven, get a movie?
