Phyllis overflowing, help us, Father, to see you on every page

and every syllable as we enter into your text, as we enter into

your spoken words, the the word that is alive and active, God,

the word that became flesh. Lord, I pray that you will help

us to understand these words. God, give us sound doctrine and

sound theology. Hide me and hide my words.

Hide my thoughts, God, hide my motives.

Father, I pray that you'll search us.

Lord, we have consecrated this temple.

So, Lord, we are asking for a filling, overflowing.

God, I pray against all the schemes of the enemy.

Lord, I pray against any of the accusations.

Lord, I pray you will silence them.

Lord, come and get your glory. We love you, Father, and it's in

Jesus Christ, holy and precious name that I pray.

Amen. Let's start in verse one.

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are

in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the

Spirit. Did you hear that?

Did you catch it? There is now no condemnation.

The judge sits and he finds you not guilty because of the work

of Jesus Christ on the cross. The condemnation comes from the

evil one. It is not from the Holy Spirit.

If you are walking in the Spirit, friends, you will not

satisfy the lust of the flesh. When you're walking in the

Spirit, friends, you will be convicted but not condemned.

It's a big difference there. If you are hearing the

condemnation that you will never measure up and that God is done
3:26
with you and that you'll never make it to heaven and you're not
3:29
truly a believer, that is not from God.

The Holy Spirit whispers to us, the Holy Spirit corrects us and

disciplines us, friends, and that is conviction.

And there is a huge chasm between those two points.

And you need to understand whose voice it is that you are warring
3:49
with inside of your own mind, friends.

And we need to know that the enemy is not omniscient, but he
3:58
hangs on our every word and he listens to us, friends.

And it's through all of culture and the technology and it's

through all of the things that get stored up in our minds that
4:09
war against the Spirit, friends. And that is what you need to
4:13
know when it comes to battling the flesh and battling those
4:18
voices that try to tell you that God is done with you.

There is no condemnation for you if you are in Christ Jesus.

And you need to understand that when Noah was building the boat,
4:33
there was a certain destruction that was coming upon the whole
4:37
world, and he had to get in the boat to be saved.

And you and I on this side, we need to get in Christ Jesus to

be saved. Christ in US and us in Him abide

in Him. Friends, walk in the Spirit

verse 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus

has made me free from the law of sin and death.

That is the 2 powers that are at play across this entire globe,

friends, and you have to choose whom you will serve.

Will you serve sin and death, or will you come in to Jesus Christ

and allow the Holy Spirit to lead you and guide you in

eternal paths of righteousness? 3 For what the law could not do,

and that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son

in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, condemned sin in
5:57
the flesh. So that is what you need to

understand, that this flesh that we are warring against is made
6:07
subject by the Spirit of God. The Spirit of God overcomes it

and overtakes it. We put the heel on the neck of

the enemy. We crushed the head of the
6:20
serpent, that vile foe. You need to understand that when
6:24
you were dead in your trespasses, when you were lost
6:28
in sin, there was no help for you.

You could not help yourself. You could not save yourself.

You were only being LED off to destruction, but God came in.

But God sent his only Son. And through faith in the Lord

Jesus Christ, we can put on the full armor of God.

We can be indwelled with the Holy Spirit.

We can have eternal life everlasting.

We can have eternal security. Friends, we can know that we

know that we know that we know that we are His and He is ours,

and that He is in us and we are in Him, and we do not have to

satisfy the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the

pride of life. Those are not from God.

Friends, let's walk in the Spirit.

Let's be full of the Spirit today.

But we must consecrate this temple.

We must get rid of all of the idol worship that we've been

whoring after. Friends, we cannot pollute this

temple and expect for a filling today.

Four, that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in US

who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

That is what you're going to find.

Jesus Christ came as a little baby and He was all man and He

was all God, and He was the only one in the history of mankind.

From Adam to you and to me, and to however many generations are

left. He was the only one who could

come and live a perfect life. Friends and he is the only one

who could snatch the keys to hell and to death and to give us
8:24
eternal hope and to be able to give us this down payment.

The comforter who has come. And what you need to know is

when we are walking after the Spirit, we will not satisfy all
8:37
of the lusts of the flesh. They will not be fulfilled in
8:40
us. We will not have to go into
8:42
depravity. Friends, we will not have to go
8:45
into the slaughter which the enemy is only trying to steal
8:51
and kill and destroy us. And it might look pretty on the
8:55
outset. It might look like vanity on the
8:59
outset. It might look like riches on the
9:01
outset. It might look like security on
9:04
the outset. It might look like fun on the
9:07
outset. But it is only death, and it
9:10
stinketh. 54 They that are after the flesh do mind the things of
9:18
the flesh, but they that are after the Spirit, the things of
9:23
the Spirit. So you can see here that Paul

was warring back there in Chapter 7.

Whenever he says I do the things that I don't want to do and I

don't do the things that I do want to do.

And you can see this conflict and what he's trying to show you

here in this chapter 8 is that there is victory in Christ.

There is victory when we're indwelled with the Holy Spirit.

We do not have to go down into those despicable places.

We can rise to the occasion. We can be able to close that gap

between all of those instances whenever we are warring with the

flesh and we're trying to be indwelled with the Spirit and

the key friends, and what you need to know, friends, is that

we have to ask God to help us to identify the things in our lives

that do not belong. The things that are so strong,

the pulls and addictions that are so strong that we in our own
10:30
self and effort and strength, we could never be strong enough to
10:34
get rid of. But with God's help, he can come
10:37
in and flip over the tables and drive out the money changers and
10:43
his house can be made a House of prayer and not a den of thieves.

That's what you need to understand is God will share his
10:52
glory with no one and that we if we want to be indwelled with the
10:57
Holy Spirit in the fullness that is available to us.

Friends, all those that have placed their faith in the Lord
11:05
Jesus Christ, He desires to fill you today and to allow you to
11:10
come up and to see His glory and to experience the fullness.

He desires that for you today. But if we are so debased in all
11:22
of our cardinality that we will not even acknowledge our
11:28
sinfulness and acknowledge the things that we're allowing in,
11:33
then we will live a life that is dismayed.

We will live a life of defeat, friends.
11:39
And that is not God's plan for his sons and daughters.

We are children of the Most High God, Elian, and that is our
11:47
inheritance. And we do not need to kick the
11:50
can down the road, friends. We need to live in victory and
11:55
it is available to us as we put on the full armor of God, as we
11:59
go to do war with the enemy, and as we have the strength for the

battle and strength to get rid of all of the disgusting,
12:08
despicable, sinful behaviors that this culture is trying to

push upon us. We do not give up, we do not
12:18
retreat, we only push forward in this war against all the
12:23
principalities of darkness, Friends, they have no hold on
12:27
us. We are His, we belong to Him.

He is ours, and we are in Him and him in us.

And we have the fullness of the Holy Spirit guiding us, friends.

But the question remains, whom will you choose today, the flesh
12:46
or the spirit? 64 To be carnally minded is
12:52
death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Do you have life and the abundant life and do you have

peace? Do you have peace with God

through his Son Jesus Christ? Can you say that today or are

you at turmoil within your own heart and mind?

Is everything wrong and upside down?

Friends, are you carnally minded or are you walking after the
13:26
Spirit? Friends?

Walking in the Spirit 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity
13:34
against God, for it is not subject to the law of God,
13:40
neither indeed can be. That is what you have to
13:43
understand is the carnal mind is enmity.

It's not at enmity, it is enmity with God.

You cannot serve 2 masters. You will love 1 and you will
13:58
hate the other. There is no neutrality, friends.

You are either for Him or you are against Him.

And here you can see that we have no condemnation.

But we must really check ourselves before we wreck

ourselves. We must truly come to Him and

ask Him to search us and get rid of all of the things in our

lives that we keep holding on to.

We keep going back to like a dog to its vomit we keep holding on

to because we find our identity in them.

And the pull to those addictions are so strong, friends, and we
14:40
are enmity against God whenever we do not do the things that he
14:47
requires and he wants of us, friends, and that is a great
14:51
indicator of the apostasy. It is a great indicator that you
14:56
have just the John the Baptist of repentance baptism.

If you you've not actually been baptized in the Holy Ghost,

friends. And so we need to know that

today is the day of salvation and it is not for us to doubt
15:13
our assurance. Friends, there is for sure many
15:18
born again blood bought believers who are weak and who
15:23
are squandering their inheritance, and they're truly
15:26
His and that is the reality. But God does not leave you in
15:31
that state. God desires to bring you up.
15:34
God desires to sanctify you, and He's not going to allow you to
15:39
continue off in that sinful life.

You cannot have both this world and God, Friends, it does not
15:47
work that way. When God gets a hold of you, the
15:50
Holy Spirit indwells you and He will sanctify you, friends.

And you could do it the easy way or the hard way, and that is the
15:58
reality. But there are many who have the

church attendance who've been dunked in the water.

There are many who own a library of Bibles.

But they are not yet born again and regenerated friends.

And the mark is, are you dwelled with the Holy Spirit or are you
16:17
just practicing religion? Do not be at enmity.

Do not be enmity against God with the carnal mind. 8 So then
16:30
they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

It is impossible to please God without faith.

And if you are relying on your own self, you're relying on your
16:41
bank account, you're relying on your own trickery, your own
16:46
schemes, you're relying on your own abilities, friends.

If you're relying on your intellect, you're relying on
16:54
your college education, you're relying upon the government,
16:58
upon the cultures, you're relying upon the flesh, you

cannot please God. We must increase our faith if we
17:09
want to please God. Friends, that is the reality.

You cannot, if you're walking in the flesh, please God. 9 But you
17:19
are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit
17:26
of God dwells in you. Now if any man have not the
17:30
Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

So there it is friends, the true mark of a believer is the
17:39
indwelling of the Holy Spirit, and God will share His glory
17:44
with no one. And if you are truly indwelled
17:46
with the Holy Spirit, He is going to start convicting you.

He's going to start disciplining you.

He's going to start putting his finger on the things that are
17:59
the most obvious. And as time goes on, He

sanctifies you by showing you all of the things that you were
18:06
not even aware of. And what He's doing is preparing
18:09
you for all of eternity. But if we resist that, friends,
18:14
we will grieve the Holy Spirit. If we resist that, friends, we
18:20
will sear our conscience, Friends.

But I want you to know that if you have not received the Holy
18:28
Spirit, then you will not have conviction.

That is the true mark of a believer.

If you are doing wrong and don't see it as wrong, there is no
18:40
Spirit of God that indwells you. Friends, when the Spirit of God
18:45
comes, He will convict you. 10 And if Christ be in you, the
18:56
body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of

righteousness. So when Christ comes in you, all
19:09
of your flesh dies because the Holy Spirit is in you.

And back in Romans 7, whenever he's talking about how the
19:18
Spirit and the flesh are at war with each other, what you need

to know as we enter into chapter 8, Paul has had victory over the
19:27
flesh and he sees that the flesh is dead and has no power over
19:32
him. Friends, when we are in the
19:34
Spirit, when we're walking in the Spirit, the flesh is made
19:39
subject to the Spirit of God. It will overpower the flesh.

That is what you need to understand.

We willfully disobey God. As a Christian, you know what
19:54
you ought to do, but you don't do it.

And that is when you let the flesh override the Spirit of

God, which is what grieves Him when He tells you the things

that you ought to do. We must do those things to

please God. 11 But if the spirit of him that raised up Jesus from
20:17
the dead dwells in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead
20:22
shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwells
20:28
in you. The same power that raised Jesus
20:32
Christ from the dead lives in US.

And Paul gives you a little caveat.

He says if the Spirit, we must go back to the drawing board, we

must ask ourselves the hard question.

Have we truly received the Spirit of God or are we just
20:54
practicing religion? Is it just tradition to you in
20:58
church attendance? Is it just a bunch of

proceedings? Is it just tradition and
21:09
ceremony or have we truly received the Holy Ghost?

And the mark is conviction? Do you have conviction in your
21:21
life? Because if the Holy Spirit is in
21:23
you, you will know that the things are wrong that you're
21:27
doing, and you will have a desire to change.

And you need to know that He kills Jesus Christ in the
21:38
indwelling of the Holy Spirit, kills the flesh.

It kills all of those lusts, It kills all of the things that are
21:46
warring after the Spirit. 12 Therefore, brothers, we are
21:53
debtors not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

We cannot satisfy the lusts of the flesh.

Friends, we cannot whar after the pride of life.

It cannot be this comparison game.

Friends, we cannot let envy reign in our hearts.

That's what put Jesus Christ on the cross.

There were many religious people in Jesus's day who out of envy

they murdered him. And that is what you're going to
22:23
find when we allow the pride of life, the lust of the eyes.

If you even look at a woman with lust, you've already committed

adultery with her friends. In this lust of the flesh, we
22:39
cannot satisfy all of our own desires.

We must come under the yoke of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We must walk in the Spirit so that we can have eternal life

with Him. 13-4 If you live after the flesh, you shall die, but if

you, through the Spirit, do mortify the deeds of the body,

you shall live. How incredibly important it is

to be truthful to yourself, and truthful to others and truthful
23:23
to God. Do you just have religion or do
23:28
you have a relationship with God through his Son, Jesus Christ?

This is for every single person who will ever hear this.

We cannot let another human being stand between US and God.

We cannot let a pastor or a denomination.

We cannot let any single person, no matter who it is, your own

spouse, your children, your boss, doesn't matter who it is

the leader of your country, you cannot let anybody stand between

you and God Almighty. We can know God through Jesus

Christ and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, and

that is how we can please Him. Friends is whenever we increase

our faith, whenever we are truly pushing and pursuing God

Almighty and all the purposes and plans that He has for our

lives, we cannot let the flesh win the day.

If you want eternal life, you must be marked by Jesus Christ

and be covered in the blood today. 14 For as many as are as
24:46
led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Praise the Lord, you can see who truly belongs to Him by those
24:56
that are indwelled with the Holy Spirit, and they're not
24:59
satisfying all the lusts of the flesh.

And there are degrees by which God sanctifies us, and He will

work on the most obvious things when we come to Him.

In the beginning, He's going to show us all of the outward sins

that are displeasing to Him. And then as we go on with Him,

you're going to see that you are so incredibly lost without hope.

Without Him, there's nothing good in us.

And all of our righteousness is nothing but filthy rags.

And let every man be a liar. But it is God, and it is only

God that is good. And it is the Holy Spirit that

helps us to equalize it. It is the Holy Spirit that helps

us to know the heart of God, to know the mind of Christ, and

then to obey. It is not about the

interpretation of the Scriptures, but it is obedience

to the Scriptures. Friends, we must obey when the

Holy Spirit prompts us. That is how you know if you are

a Son of God. 15-4 You have not received the spirit of bondage

again to fear, but you have received the spirit of adoption,

whereby we cry. ABBA.

Father, listen. The greatest tactic that the

enemy uses is fear. He is defamed and declawed and

he has no power in the name of Jesus Christ.

He is dismayed and undone and unraveled and all we must do is
26:46
bring that name upon our lips and watch the enemy flee.

Friends, resist him. Some things only go out by
26:54
prayer and fasting. And that is what you must
26:57
understand, that this fear is not from God.

Fear and faith do not cohabitate.

One will push the other out. When we have faith in God and we

know who we serve and we know that God can literally do

anything. He is not limited, He is all

powerful, all knowing and ever present everywhere.

And when you realize that about God Almighty, then you can push

down that fear. The fear has no place.

What can man, what can mortal man do to us?

Do not fear the one that can kill the body, friends.

And that is what you must understand, is that fear must

go. Fear of man must go.

We have not been given to the spirit of bondage to fear,

friends. Get rid of it.

Walk in the spirit. Cry out, Daddy, cry out ABBA.

He is our Father who is in heaven. 16 The spirit itself

bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God.

Imagine being in an orphanage and imagine hearing that you

just got adopted and the paperwork is final, but you are

waiting on your adoptive parents to come and get you.

That is our story here. We have the security of knowing

that we are adopted, but we're waiting on daddy to come and get

us. We are like the person who's

been dropped off at a party and everybody is inside having a

grand old time and we're sitting out on the steps waiting for
28:50
Daddy to come pick us up. Friends, everybody is in there
28:56
and we are just here waiting. That is our story.

We wait for him When? Let us wait well friends, and

let us witness to all those who the Lord leads to us today.

We are the children of God. 17 and if children then heirs,

heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ.

If so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also

glorified together. So 17 is a amazing verse.

We are the children, so we have a inheritance.

What is our inheritance? It is the same inheritance of

Christ. What Christ did for us on the

cross. And He was He received the keys

to death and to hell, and He did not have to be subject to His

body seeing decay. Our inheritance is the same,

friends. To be absent from the body is to

be present with the Lord, and today you will be with Him in

paradise. And that is our inheritance.

And we need to know that if we are in Christ, then the same

things that were available to Him are available to us.

We are joint heirs with Him, and even though we might suffer

here, we suffer with Him. And that is what we desire, to

know Christ and to know Christ crucified, to know Him in his

sufferings, friends, and we, we'll also be glorified

together. Praise God for these eternal

truths. 18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time

are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be

revealed in US. Do you understand that

principle? There is nothing that could ever

happen to you in this life that would ever over shadow the glory

of what is to come. We count it all as joy when

we're persecuted because the life to come will be well worth

any of our sufferings here in this time.

We are called into ministry of reconciliation.

We are called into this pastoring of His people to feed

his lambs, to feed His sheep friends, and we are called to

spread the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to every continent,

every people group. And you will see one day, by and

by you will see that it was all worth it in the end. 19 For the

earnest expectation of the creature waits for the

manifestation of the sons of God.

So go back and search the book of Genesis after Adam sinned

willfully whenever he listened to Eve and ate the forbidden

fruit, and they tried to hide themselves in shame.

And here comes God. He's looking for him.

When God pronounced judgment, His beautiful grace upon mankind

was that He put the judgment upon creation.

Go and read that, and here you can see that now creation is

groaning, and not in death pangs, but in birth pangs.

Friends, it's groaning for the day when he is going to make

everything new. 24 The creature was made subject to vanity, not

willingly, but by reason of him who has subjected the same in

hope. So God took his judgment and put

it upon the earth, and that is why we have all of the things

that happen all the seasons. That's why we have all the death

within creation 21 because the creature itself also shall be

delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious,

glorious liberty of the children of God.

They are waiting for the perfect timing, whenever God is going to

make all things new, 22 For we know that the whole creation

groans and travails in pain together until now. 23 and not

only they, but ourselves also, which have the first fruits of

the Spirit. Even we ourselves groan within

ourselves waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption

of our body. So that is when you learn about

this adoption and you're going to be adopted, but you're
34:33
waiting on your adoptive parents.

And that is what you have to understand.

We only have in part the fullness that is to come.

We only have the down payment of the full payment that is to

come. And yes, Jesus Christ paid it

all, but we are still subject to these mortal bodies.

But He will be with us when we cross that river.

We need not fear death, friends. We need not fear the chosen

chariot that God sends to carry us home, and whether we are

called up and out of this place in an instant at the sound of

the trumpet, the voice of an Archangel, whether we are called

up and out to meet him in the clouds, or whether we go down
35:28
this dust to dust and ashes to ashes.

Friends, you need to know that either way we have the

resurrection power, and that we will be given eternal immortal

bodies, friends, that are not subject to decay. 24 For we are

saved by hope, but hope that is seen is not hope for what a man

sees. Why does he yet hope for?

That is what you need to understand.

Place your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and he will give

you this hope. And that is what we yearn for,

friends. We yearn for a land that we've
36:19
not yet been to, and we know that it's real and we know that

we can hope for it because we are not the same as we used to

be. We don't have eyes like we used

to have and ears like we used to have.

He has radically changed us and we are a new creation even

though we are still subject to these mortal bodies.

We can hope because He has given us reason to hope by completely

changing us and changing our entire trajectory.

Friends, we were destined for hell and we deserved hell, but

God sent His only Son so that we would not have to go there.

And there was nothing that we ever did.

It was all of what He did on the cross and by faith we take hold
