Transcript
- 0:02Welcome to Bible Chat, where we have devotional conversations
- 0:06rooted in Scripture and relevant for today, February 28th.
- 0:11Kindness that echoes Have you ever walked away from a moment
- 0:15of kindness and wondered if it even mattered?
- 0:17You showed up, you helped, you spoke gently, and yet there was
- 0:21no applause, no thank you, no obvious result.
- 0:25It's easy to feel like kindness is wasted in a world that
- 0:28rewards being loud, aggressive, or self focused.
- 0:32But God sees kindness very differently.
- 0:35Proverbs Chapter 11, verses 16 to 17 tell us something
- 0:39surprising. It says a gracious woman gets
- 0:42honor and violent men get riches.
- 0:45A man who is kind benefits himself, but a cruel man hurts
- 0:48himself. Kindness isn't weakness, it's
- 0:51not losing ground. God says kindness actually comes
- 0:54back to you. It shapes your character,
- 0:58protects your heart, and leaves you better than before.
- 1:01Cruelty, on the other hand, always turns inward and causes
- 1:04damage, even if it looks successful on the outside.
- 1:08Psalm 24 lifts our perspective even higher.
- 1:12Psalm chapter 24 verse one says the earth is the Lord's and the
- 1:16fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein.
- 1:20Every person you meet belongs to God.
- 1:23Every life carries value because it's His.
- 1:26When you choose kindness, you're not just being nice.
- 1:29You're reflecting God's heart toward people he deeply loves.
- 1:33Kindness becomes an act of worship, a way of acknowledging
- 1:36that this world and everyone in it belongs to Him.
- 1:39Then we see kindness in action in Acts chapter 28.
- 1:44Paul has survived A shipwreck, danger, and exhaustion.
- 1:47He arrives on an island with nothing to offer but his
- 1:50presence. Yet the people there show
- 1:52extraordinary kindness, and Acts chapter 28, verse 10 says that
- 1:58they honored them greatly and provided everything they needed
- 2:01for the next part of the journey.
- 2:03Their kindness didn't just meet a momentary need.
- 2:06It changed the story. It helped carry the mission
- 2:09forward. That's the part we often don't
- 2:11see. Kindness echoes.
- 2:13It ripples out farther than the moment it's given.
- 2:17A gentle response can soften a hard heart.
- 2:19A small act can restore hope. A patient word can keep someone
- 2:23from giving up. Even when it goes unnoticed by
- 2:25people, it is never unnoticed by God.
- 2:29You may never fully know how your kindness effects others,
- 2:32but God does, and He uses it to reveal His goodness in ways you
- 2:37may only understand. On the other side of eternity,
- 2:40kindness plants seeds of grace. It creates space for healing.
- 2:44It reflects a Kingdom that works very differently from the world.
- 2:48So don't underestimate the power of a kind choice.
- 2:52Don't dismiss small acts done in love in God's hands.
- 2:55Kindness always carries more weight than you think, and it
- 2:58leaves a mark that lasts far longer than the moment.
- 3:01Let's pray, Let's pray. Heavenly Father, thank you for
- 3:05the kindness you show me every single day.
- 3:08Thank you for your patience, Your mercy, and Your grace
- 3:10toward my life. Help me to see people the way
- 3:14you see them and to treat them with compassion and care.
- 3:17Teach me to choose kindness, even when it's unnoticed or
- 3:20inconvenient. Use my words and actions to
- 3:24reflect your heart so that others can experience Your
- 3:26goodness through me. In Jesus name, Amen.

- 4:49three-year Bible reading plan. Proverbs Chapter 11 verses 16 to
- 4:5417 World English Bible A gracious woman obtains honor,
- 4:59but violent men obtain riches. The merciful man does good to
- 5:03his own soul, but he who is cruel troubles his own flesh.
- 5:07Psalm Chapter 24 World English Bible A Psalm by David The earth
- 5:12is Yahweh's with its fullness the world and those who dwell in
- 5:15it. For he has founded it on the
- 5:17seas and established it on the floods.
- 5:19Who may ascend to Yahweh's hill? Who may stand in His holy place,
- 5:23He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted
- 5:27up his soul to falsehood and has not sworn deceitfully, He shall
- 5:31receive a blessing from Yahweh, righteousness from the God of
- 5:34His salvation. This is the generation of those
- 5:36who seek Him, who seek your face, even Jacob.
- 5:39Selah. Lift up your heads, you gates.
- 5:42Be lifted up, you everlasting doors, and the King of glory
- 5:45will come in. Who is the King of glory?
- 5:48Yahweh, strong and mighty. Yahweh, mighty in battle, lift
- 5:51up your heads, you gates, yes, lift them up, you everlasting
- 5:54doors, and the king of glory will come in.
- 5:56Who is this King of glory? Yahweh of armies is the king of
- 5:59glory. Selah.
- 6:01Acts chapter 28 World English Bible When we had escaped then
- 6:05they learned that the island was called Malta.
- 6:08The natives showed us uncommon kindness, for they kindled a
- 6:11fire and received us all because of the present rain and because
- 6:15of the cold. But when Paul had gathered a
- 6:17bundle of sticks and laid them on the fire, a Viper came out
- 6:20because of the heat and fastened on his hand.
- 6:22When the natives saw the creature hanging from his hand,
- 6:25they said to one another, No doubt this man is a murderer
- 6:28whom though he has escaped from the sea, yet justice has not
- 6:31allowed to live. However, he shook off the
- 6:34creature into the fire and wasn't harmed.
- 6:36But they expected that he would have swollen or fallen down dead
- 6:40suddenly. But when they watched for a long
- 6:42time and saw nothing bad happened to him, they changed
- 6:45their minds and said that he was a God.
- 6:47Now in the neighborhood of that place where lands belonging to
- 6:50the chief man of the island named Publius, who received us
- 6:54and courteously entertained us for three days the father of
- 6:58Publius lay sick of fever and dysentery.
- 7:01Paul entered into him, prayed, and laying his hands on him,
- 7:04healed him. Then when this was done, the
- 7:06rest also, who had diseases in the island, came and were cured.
- 7:10They also honored us with many honors, and when we sailed they
- 7:14put on board the things that we needed.
- 7:16After three months we set sail in a ship of Alexandria, which
- 7:19had wintered in the island, whose figurehead was the twin
- 7:22brothers touching at Syracuse. We stayed there three days.
- 7:26From there we circled around and arrived at Regem after one day
- 7:30AS wind sprang up, and on the second day we came to Putiali,
- 7:34where we found brothers, and we're entreated to stay with
- 7:36them for seven days. So we came to Rome.
- 7:40From there the brothers, when they heard of us, came to meet
- 7:42us as far as the market of a Pius in the three Taverns.
- 7:46When Paul saw them, he thanked God and took courage.
- 7:49When we entered into Rome, the centurion delivered the
- 7:52prisoners to the captain of the guard, but Paul was allowed to
- 7:55stay by himself with the soldier who guarded him.
- 7:58After three days Paul called together those who were the
- 8:01leaders of the Jews. When they had come together, he
- 8:04said to them, I Brothers, though I had done nothing against the
- 8:07people or the customs of our fathers, still was delivered
- 8:11prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans, who, when
- 8:14they had examined me, desired to set me free, because there was
- 8:18no cause of death in me. But when the Jews spoke against
- 8:21it, I was constrained to appeal to Caesar, not that I had
- 8:24anything about which to accuse my nation.
- 8:27For this 'cause therefore I asked to see you and to speak
- 8:30with you. For because of the hope of
- 8:31Israel I am bound with this chain.
- 8:34They said to him, We neither received letters from Judea
- 8:37concerning you, nor did any of the brothers come here and
- 8:40report or speak any evil of you. But we desire to hear from you
- 8:44what you think. For as concerning this sect it
- 8:47is known to us that everywhere it is spoken against.
- 8:50When they had appointed him a day, many people came to him at
- 8:53his lodging. He explained to them testifying
- 8:56about God's Kingdom, and persuading them concerning
- 8:59Jesus, both from the law of Moses and from the prophets.
- 9:02From morning until evening some believed the things which were
- 9:05spoken, and some disbelieved when they didn't agree among
- 9:09themselves. They departed after Paul had
- 9:11spoken one message. The Holy Spirit spoke rightly
- 9:14through Isaiah the prophet to our fathers, saying, Go to this
- 9:18people and say, In hearing you will hear, but will in no way
- 9:21understand. In seeing you will see, but will
- 9:24in no way perceive. For this people's heart has
- 9:26grown callous. Their ears are dull of hearing
- 9:29their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their
- 9:32eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their heart, and
- 9:35would turn again. Then I would heal them.
- 9:38Be it known, therefore, to you that the salvation of God is
- 9:40sent to the nations, and they will listen.
- 9:43When he had said these words, the Jews departed, having a
- 9:46great dispute among themselves. Paul stayed two whole years in
- 9:50his own rented house and received all who were coming to
- 9:53him, preaching God's Kingdom and teaching the things concerning
- 9:56the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness, without hindrance.
