- 0:28Hey everybody, good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:31We're talking today about looking at both sides of the
- 0:35equation, duality in whatever it is that you're coming up with.
- 0:40I had a conversation with my daughter this week about this
- 0:44very subject, which is why I decided to talk to you guys
- 0:46about it because she came with an idea that she was having.
- 0:51And I said it's a great idea. So let's consider all of it just
- 0:56like I would if I was talking to a client because this is an idea
- 1:00that is a financially based idea.
- 1:02She's got something she wanted to work on.
- 1:05And as she brought it up, of course you have to look at both
- 1:08sides of it. And I started to explain it to
- 1:11her and I could tell that she thought I was being the pin to
- 1:14her balloon. And I said wait, stop.
- 1:15I would do this with any client. I want you to realize every
- 1:18situation has a duality to it, and it's important that you
- 1:22recognize the duality in order to be able to manage it.
- 1:26And she said, what exactly are you talking about?
- 1:28And I said, it doesn't matter what idea you come up with it,
- 1:30it doesn't it, it doesn't matter what it is.
- 1:34It could be I'm going to cook a fancy French dinner for my
- 1:37family. OK, that sounds amazing.
- 1:41What is the duality to it? Well, there's going to be a big
- 1:44mess to clean up. There's always, always, always
- 1:49something that has a dark piece of it.
- 1:53If you think of it in terms of light and dark, there's that's
- 1:56we for every day we have a dawn, but we also have a sunset for
- 2:01every day that, you know, it rains, there's a sunny day.
- 2:05There's always a duality in nature and as human beings, we
- 2:09can't get by that even in our situations.
- 2:12And and you know, it's a really, really good thing.
- 2:14I've joked around about this subject lightly before, talking
- 2:17about how Elmo had this whole thing about wanting Christmas
- 2:20every single day. And then he realized when he had
- 2:22it every single day, it sucked and he didn't want it every day
- 2:24because it made it not special. And this is in that vein, but
- 2:29this is, this goes a little bit deeper in the sense that we are
- 2:33talking about really being able to have a pragmatic mind and
- 2:37look at something from the position of saying, hey, hold on
- 2:41here. I have to just stop for a
- 2:42second. I have to really think this
- 2:44through because I know there will be things that will come up
- 2:47that will not be easy to conquer.
- 2:49There will be things that will need to be addressed.
- 2:51There will be things that I have to navigate.
- 2:55And if you know them ahead of time and you can prepare for
- 2:58them, then you're better off. Simple example, the chickens,
- 3:03OK, if you, I could have just put them out here and I could
- 3:06have said, OK, here's their house and we're going to free
- 3:09range them all. But at the time the property
- 3:12wasn't fenced in and they didn't have, they need to have a run.
- 3:15So at least we got the run portion of it done.
- 3:18Then when we got neighbors and they had dogs, we were like, OK,
- 3:21we can't trust their dogs. We don't know their dogs.
- 3:24So that made us have an urgency around getting the fence up.
- 3:29There's always going to be something that you have to do
- 3:34with your projects that you might not want to do that has
- 3:38more work than you want to do, that you have to look at.
- 3:41And brainstorming that ahead of time is absolutely one of the
- 3:45gifts that the universe has given us.
- 3:47Being able to be creative for seeing what could be awesome and
- 3:51what also needs to be addressed. There's no question in my mind
- 3:55that that is a gift for us and that we have no choice.
- 3:58We absolutely have to take it and use it as the tool it's
- 4:01meant to be. So your creativity, which we
- 4:05talk about a lot, is meant to give you the ability with using,
- 4:09with your imagination to be able to say, OK, well, what are some
- 4:12of the possibilities here that could not work?
- 4:14What are some of the possibilities that will cause me
- 4:16stress, grief otherwise? And once you start identifying
- 4:20that boy, you are handedly in a better spot.
- 4:23So whatever your project is, whatever you're working on, it
- 4:27is OK. And, and self development has
- 4:30really screwed people up in a lot of this because it will say,
- 4:32oh, well, you just have to be, you know, think on the bright
- 4:34side. That's what everybody believes.
- 4:36But the truth is your power is in being able to come back to
- 4:41that side after you go and say, OK, well, what's the stuff that
- 4:45could go wrong? What's the stuff that I need to
- 4:46address? What's the things I need to pay
- 4:48attention to? Because if you can't do that,
- 4:50then you're setting yourselves up for absolute disaster
- 4:54potentially, but at least irritation.
- 4:57And then, oh man, I didn't even think about that.
- 4:59I mean, how many times in your life have you heard yourself
- 5:01say, I didn't even think about that?
- 5:04And that's why sometimes it's really, really beneficial to
- 5:08have someone to talk it through with as long as there's somebody
- 5:11that's going to be on the positive side.
- 5:13Like, I ended up doing this with my daughter.
- 5:15The conversation turned completely around.
- 5:18And we ended up coming up with an even better idea because she
- 5:21was able to look at the conditions and reverse engineer
- 5:24it. So, you know, sometimes that's
- 5:27an even better way to do it. You look at the end result.
- 5:29You say, what do I want? Here's what I want and then all
- 5:32right, if I, if I'm living this life, what can I put into this?
- 5:37What do I want to do with this? And it stops you from making
- 5:40mistakes that you wouldn't necessarily even want to
- 5:43entertain. So think about this.
- 5:47Really, really think about the duality of it.
- 5:49Think about how you have to see the other side of it.
- 5:53There is nothing wrong with having those thoughts.
- 5:55It's not being pessimistic. It's being in that frame of mind
- 5:58of saying I'm looking at the whole thing and then I can make
- 6:02decisions. I can work myself through it.
- 6:04All right, my friends, I hope you have a blessed day and I
- 6:07will see you all tomorrow. Bye.
