- 1:09SPEAKER_00: Oh, this is everyone's a critic.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: I'm Yanis Poe.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: I'm a formerly pretentious who now sees the error and waits.
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: How many of you here have ever listened to this podcast before, I'm assuming?
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: It's like not.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I know you I know you.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: So this so basically the idea of the uh the show is that I bring uh heat guests on and we defend a badly reviewed film that they actually think is good.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: And we discuss it and we find out what they like about it.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: And then at the end we talk about uh we do the reverse of that, where we talk about a film that is well loved that they actually don't like.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: Um so my guest today, you may know her, she's been all over everything, all over comedy uh in the last few years.
- 1:56SPEAKER_00: Uh so she's she's the winner of the Dave uh Joker of the Year, Joker the Fringe 2023.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: Uh she's won chort all multiple awards.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: Uh how many awards you've won, you won everything.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: I won four awards.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: Four.
- 2:13SPEAKER_00: That's four more than me.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: So please welcome to the stage, Lorna Rose Train.
- 2:18unknown: Woo!
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: Hello, I'm all as well.
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: Well, that's much better than what.
- 2:28SPEAKER_00: How are you doing?
- 2:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah, really good, thank you.
- 2:30SPEAKER_01: How are you?
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: Thanks.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: Oh, I was very stressed getting here because of the trains.
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: Those trains were insane today, but mine was fine.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: Yours was fine?
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: Well, we went the wrong way, though.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: I went the wrong way.
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: No, I was trying to get avoid the Tottenham match.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: Uh I don't know what that means.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: The football match.
- 2:48SPEAKER_01: Oh, the match.
- 2:49SPEAKER_01: The football is.
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: Um, so yeah, you've come on to like basically like you're you're a comedian, so like I assume you've you're a big fan of like comedic movies, basically.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: I don't know, like, or are you just do you have like a huge love for them, or do you just like uh do you like the specific style of movies?
- 3:11SPEAKER_01: Um I actually you know I do like watching comedy, and I'm gonna say that I don't hate it, but I don't if I choose to watch something, it's normally sad or boring, like a documentary.
- 3:24SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 3:24SPEAKER_01: I wouldn't wait to call documentary boring.
- 3:28SPEAKER_01: But uh yeah.
- 3:32SPEAKER_01: In an interesting way.
- 3:33SPEAKER_01: Like not funny.
- 3:34SPEAKER_01: Right, right, right, yeah, yeah.
- 3:37SPEAKER_01: I think it's rather not funny, no wait, boring or funny.
- 3:41SPEAKER_01: Boring or funny, yeah.
- 3:42SPEAKER_01: In my head.
- 3:43SPEAKER_01: I I sometimes I find it stressful.
- 3:44SPEAKER_01: I think it's because my job as comedy to to lock myself into something where I'm gonna have to laugh.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I get that.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: I do understand that.
- 3:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I used to like, I used to watch so much more comedy than I do like as comedy comedic films than I do now that I'm in comedy.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: It's just it's I don't want to watch them anymore unless I like unless I have a unless it's very someone very specific that I know I like.
- 4:09SPEAKER_00: I don't I wouldn't be out of my way to watch this film specifically.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 4:14SPEAKER_01: I don't think anyone watched it.
- 4:16SPEAKER_00: I think you did.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: I did.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: So for anyone who doesn't know, we're talking about the we're gonna be talking about the movie Epic Movie.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: Has anyone heard of it?
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: Everyone left the Great Road.
- 4:31SPEAKER_00: So, does anyone know what this movie is?
- 4:34SPEAKER_00: No?
- 4:35SPEAKER_00: So it's it's a movie from 2007, and it's a satire, it's a spoof of a whole bunch of different things.
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: It's like it's it's there's no real like consensus for what it is.
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: It's like it's everything that came out around that time that they decided to spoof.
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: And it is I we'll we'll get into it.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: It's brilliant.
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: It's fucking amazing.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: Um so yeah, it came out in 2007.
- 5:04SPEAKER_00: Uh, what is your what's your history with it?
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: So I have an actual emotional connection to this film because it uh was the first film I ever snorked someone.
- 5:13SPEAKER_01: Oh, my first ever snorkeled.
- 5:16SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 5:17SPEAKER_01: During this movie.
- 5:18SPEAKER_01: During this movie.
- 5:19SPEAKER_01: What's tragic is that it was they it wasn't in cinemas at the time, it was like a few years after they were like repeating it.
- 5:27SPEAKER_01: You know how they were.
- 5:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:30SPEAKER_01: And um it was Redditch cinema, then there were a lot going on.
- 5:34SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay.
- 5:34SPEAKER_01: And uh I was in year nine, and a lovely guy called Adam.
- 5:39SPEAKER_01: And uh I ate this I ate a whole ton of nachos before.
- 5:45SPEAKER_01: After my first ever kiss, which I fantasised was going to be very romantic to it, maybe, um, he went, you taste like nachos.
- 5:54SPEAKER_00: Was it also his first ever kiss?
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: No.
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: No?
- 5:57SPEAKER_00: Oh he's seasoned.
- 6:00SPEAKER_00: So he knew what he knew what's not what he said.
- 6:12SPEAKER_00: After Epic movie.
- 6:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah, during Epic movie.
- 6:15SPEAKER_00: During Epic Movie.
- 6:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 6:16SPEAKER_00: Do you do you remember the point it happened?
- 6:18SPEAKER_00: I put it.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: So if anyone doesn't know, like it it they do a huge segment on Harry spoofing Harry Potter, which uh it's it's so insane.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: It's uh this movie is it's so weird.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: It probably is 29 different movies.
- 6:34SPEAKER_01: 29?
- 6:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 6:35SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: But also it came out like it came out at the time where they were spoofing every single thing.
- 6:41SPEAKER_00: So these two guys, uh Jason, Jason Freeberg and Aaron Seltzer, they are known as like the two like two of the worst people in Hollywood for like for making movies.
- 6:52SPEAKER_00: They have a consistently low-rated, like every move, every one of their movies is like in the low tens on Rotten Tomatoes.
- 7:02SPEAKER_00: So in the low tens.
- 7:03SPEAKER_00: And this is this so this one is actually rated 2% from every critic across the board.
- 7:11SPEAKER_00: 2%.
- 7:11SPEAKER_00: It's one of the lowest rated movies of all time.
- 7:15SPEAKER_01: I I watched Titanic 2.
- 7:17SPEAKER_01: You don't know.
- 7:18SPEAKER_00: I've watched Titanic 2.
- 7:19SPEAKER_00: I didn't even know that that was a thing until you said yesterday.
- 7:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's really good and it's all bad, but good.
- 7:24SPEAKER_01: Um it's by Dick Van Dyke's grandson, and it's about four hours long.
- 7:29SPEAKER_00: And um So you managed to extend the original Titanic.
- 7:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 7:33SPEAKER_01: And nothing happened.
- 7:34SPEAKER_01: Well, the same thing happens with Titanic, exactly the same thing.
- 7:38SPEAKER_01: So it's in about the same boat.
- 7:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but it no, it's a hundred years in the future, so it's 2012, and uh and it's it was managed in like 2000, maybe so like it's all rock, everything's flying, it's very confusing.
- 7:50SPEAKER_01: Uh and it uh it's yeah, the exact thing happens, and they're like, it's like an anniversary ship at the Titanic, and they're like, it can't happen again.
- 8:00SPEAKER_01: Um and at the end of it, the the ship is the ship is sinking for the whole thing, and uh the ship is going down, all these people are dying.
- 8:09SPEAKER_01: But Tickphone Dyke's grandson gets picked up on a helicopter, flown into the air, and um he like he has like a heart strike or something, and then like he like survives and everyone's really happy, and then he just dies.
- 8:23SPEAKER_01: And then it just fades out, and like on the helicopter on TikTok and Dyke, well the ship is just air on it.
- 8:30SPEAKER_01: The lead the lead guy is dying.
- 8:32SPEAKER_01: That's what we go about.
- 8:33SPEAKER_01: But anyway, but the reason why I brought it up is because like nothing happens in that film.
- 8:37SPEAKER_00: Um I think about it, it's no just about this one guy that's like Dick Van Dyke's grandson is like um but but I think what's memorable about the movie is about how much they cram into it.
- 8:53SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah, they put everything into this.
- 8:55SPEAKER_00: It's every single big movie from 2006 to 2007 things and every nine years.
- 9:03SPEAKER_00: And every pop culture reference you could possibly think of as well.
- 9:06SPEAKER_00: That like immediately dates the film now you watch it.
- 9:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's really dated.
- 9:10SPEAKER_01: There's like a Lonely Island reference.
- 9:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, there is, and it's yeah, there's a lot of Iraq war reference in a specific.
- 9:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah, there's an Iraq data.
- 9:18SPEAKER_00: Um and yeah, it's just it's very American, isn't it?
- 9:21SPEAKER_00: Oh, it's so American, yeah, yeah.
- 9:23SPEAKER_00: So if you don't like American colleges, you will not like this.
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: Um yeah, it came so it came out in 2007.
- 9:29SPEAKER_00: Um, it's starring Cal Penn, Adam Campbell, Jamer Mays, Jennifer Coolidge, Crispin Glover, and Lily Wonka.
- 9:45SPEAKER_00: It's horrible.
- 9:46SPEAKER_00: Oh, it's so bad.
- 9:47SPEAKER_00: I was gonna show it today, but I was like, oh, this is gonna be too much effort to try and rig up for one clip.
- 9:53SPEAKER_00: A bit too disturbing or something.
- 9:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's very disturbing.
- 9:55SPEAKER_00: It's also like very it's the one relevant bit now that we've got the unknown and and that the Glasgow uh Wonka thing.
- 10:02SPEAKER_01: Has everyone seen that online like that's kind of a Willy Wonka experience.
- 10:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah, Willie Wonker experiences.
- 10:10SPEAKER_00: So it feels very much like that.
- 10:12SPEAKER_00: But then in reality it's just like a warehouse, isn't it?
- 10:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it was a warehouse, and then they had a character for the unknown.
- 10:19SPEAKER_00: Just like a guy going as the antagonist.
- 10:26SPEAKER_00: And the Willie Wonker guy was some guy who just got given us an AI written script that made no sense.
- 10:32SPEAKER_01: But he's a stand-up comedian, as well.
- 10:34SPEAKER_01: He is, yeah.
- 10:34SPEAKER_00: Do you know him?
- 10:35SPEAKER_01: No, but I watched a little girl's TikTok about how he was her teacher at school.
- 10:39SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 10:39SPEAKER_01: And he was like like drama school.
- 10:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah, of course he's drama school.
- 10:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and he was like really flirty with her.
- 10:44SPEAKER_01: I don't really know.
- 10:46SPEAKER_01: Okay, yeah.
- 10:47SPEAKER_00: He's doing what he deserves.
- 10:52SPEAKER_00: Um okay, so let's let's go into this movie, let's talk about it.
- 10:55SPEAKER_00: Um, other than like you having a snob, what do you remember about it from when you were when you watched it that that day?
- 11:03SPEAKER_01: I remember everyone telling me that I was supposed to enjoy it, like all of the advertising things telling me that I was supposed to enjoy it.
- 11:07SPEAKER_00: That's how advertising works.
- 11:08SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 11:10SPEAKER_01: I was 13.
- 11:11SPEAKER_01: So I I I remember as well that you know there were big like cutouts of everything.
- 11:16SPEAKER_01: And in my head, you know when your charts like this must be good.
- 11:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 11:20SPEAKER_01: And then so I think I thought, oh that this I must be wrong.
- 11:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 11:24SPEAKER_01: This must be good.
- 11:25SPEAKER_01: Um, but I it was loud and there were lots of nice colours.
- 11:30SPEAKER_01: Um ironically, I think actually it probably suits our like us more now because it moves so fast from things too.
- 11:37SPEAKER_00: It's a very TikTok-style movie, isn't it?
- 11:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I even thought TikTok was better.
- 11:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think it would probably do better now as well.
- 11:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah, maybe, yeah.
- 11:46SPEAKER_00: Actually, well, no, some of the stuff in it.
- 11:50SPEAKER_00: There's some very awful references in it that we're not land anymore.
- 11:53SPEAKER_01: There's like, it's also really like some of some of it's funny.
- 11:57SPEAKER_01: Um the one that plays the one that plays Lucy, uh Jemia's I know.
- 12:01SPEAKER_01: Uh Jaima Martin.
- 12:03SPEAKER_01: Jima Mays.
- 12:04SPEAKER_01: She is, I think she's incredible.
- 12:06SPEAKER_01: She's very funny, yeah.
- 12:07SPEAKER_01: She's so her character trait is that she's stupid.
- 12:11SPEAKER_01: So stupid.
- 12:12SPEAKER_01: And I don't think we see that anymore because probably it's offensive to women.
- 12:16SPEAKER_00: It is a little bit offensive to women.
- 12:18SPEAKER_01: But I think it's so funny.
- 12:19SPEAKER_01: And as somebody that loves to be laughed at, she's she's incredible.
- 12:23SPEAKER_01: Like that is her whole character trait.
- 12:24SPEAKER_01: There's like a bit where she's in Narnia and she like licks a she sees a phone ramp, so she decides to lick it, and then her tongue gets caught in it, and then she's like pulling it, and she just keeps pulling it.
- 12:33SPEAKER_01: And she's got this beautiful stupidity in her eyes.
- 12:36SPEAKER_01: There's nothing going on.
- 12:37SPEAKER_01: She plays that really well.
- 12:38SPEAKER_01: Really well.
- 12:38SPEAKER_01: It's I think it's actually an incredible performance.
- 12:41SPEAKER_01: Like akin to like uh uh what's his name?
- 12:45unknown: Hugharian Black Adder.
- 12:47SPEAKER_01: Oh it's so she's so funny.
- 12:50SPEAKER_01: If you took her out of like all of the context, then it would be.
- 12:54SPEAKER_00: She's probably the best best character in it, I would say.
- 12:57SPEAKER_00: But that's not that's not reachy for much.
- 13:00SPEAKER_00: I know like I don't think the book was, yeah.
- 13:02SPEAKER_00: I think the rest of them are so bad.
- 13:05SPEAKER_01: Um what about the Johnny Depp impression?
- 13:08SPEAKER_00: The Johnny Depp, yeah, the the Captain Jack Swallows, as they call him.
- 13:13SPEAKER_00: So that that's the level of humour.
- 13:15SPEAKER_00: Um is yeah, it's played by Darrell Hammond from formerly of SNL from Saturday Night Live, now forced to do Jack Sparrow impersonations to I I I I don't know what he's doing in this movie.
- 13:30SPEAKER_01: The impersonations are really bad.
- 13:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 13:32SPEAKER_00: But funny bad.
- 13:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we'll not get to it.
- 13:39SPEAKER_00: I definitely get to that.
- 13:40SPEAKER_00: We'll go through the movie.
- 13:41SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 13:42SPEAKER_00: So it kind of it's yeah, so okay, so it opens with it opens on like a Da Vinci Co.
- 13:47SPEAKER_00: uh spoof.
- 13:51SPEAKER_01: Well no, I like this because I've never seen the Da Vinci Co.
- 13:53SPEAKER_01: That's the other joyful thing about watching an actual video last week.
- 13:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 13:56SPEAKER_01: There's loads of these films I haven't seen before.
- 13:58SPEAKER_01: So I'm just getting them done.
- 14:01SPEAKER_01: You're just getting through them, then this is how you this is how you experience it.
- 14:03SPEAKER_00: Have you ever seen actually speak before you go into it?
- 14:06SPEAKER_00: Have you actually seen any of the other, like Date Movie, Meet the Spartans, all of these ones that are made by these guys?
- 14:13SPEAKER_01: Do they do Scary Movie?
- 14:15SPEAKER_00: They okay, so here's a here's a point that so they are claimed to be the two of the six writers of Scary Movie.
- 14:22SPEAKER_00: Apparently, uh the studio just bought their script and they had to attach their name to it because they bought their script.
- 14:28SPEAKER_00: It's nothing to do with them.
- 14:30SPEAKER_00: Like they use none of it, none of their jokes in the movie.
- 14:34SPEAKER_00: But they use that, they use that as promotion for the rest of these movies.
- 14:37SPEAKER_00: Two of the six writers of Scary Movie.
- 14:39SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 14:40SPEAKER_00: And that's how this that's how Date Movie got like really popular, and then like they started getting more of them through that.
- 14:45SPEAKER_01: And it's date movie, they say is it?
- 14:47SPEAKER_00: Date movie was the first one after Scary Movie.
- 14:49SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 14:50SPEAKER_00: This is this was right after Date Movie.
- 14:51SPEAKER_01: And it's date movie parodies of romance.
- 14:54SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 14:55SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 14:55SPEAKER_00: It's the one with Alice and Hannyman.
- 14:57SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 14:58SPEAKER_01: No, no, no.
- 14:59unknown: I've seen all the scary movies and they were good.
- 15:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah, the scary movies are great.
- 15:02SPEAKER_00: But they weren't these guys.
- 15:03SPEAKER_00: No.
- 15:04SPEAKER_00: The scary movies are the first one that Wayne's runners, and the other ones are the Zaka, David Zucker, I think.
- 15:09SPEAKER_00: The guy that did airplane.
- 15:10SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 15:11SPEAKER_00: So like that makes sense that those are like actually funny.
- 15:13SPEAKER_01: They're really good, yeah.
- 15:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 15:14SPEAKER_01: Disaster movies.
- 15:16SPEAKER_00: Disaster movies are these guys.
- 15:17SPEAKER_00: Is it?
- 15:17SPEAKER_00: That's bad as well.
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it is.
- 15:19SPEAKER_01: But it's also action films, which I hate.
- 15:22unknown: Right.
- 15:22SPEAKER_01: Whereas at least they're.
- 15:23SPEAKER_01: So why did you watch disaster movies?
- 15:25SPEAKER_01: Uh this is for the advertising.
- 15:28SPEAKER_01: And I lived in Reddit, so there was nothing to do.
- 15:31SPEAKER_01: They already showed these guys movies.
- 15:33SPEAKER_01: Are these guys from Reddit?
- 15:35SPEAKER_01: No one's from Reddit.
- 15:37SPEAKER_01: Um it was the cinema was new to Redditch.
- 15:41SPEAKER_01: What?
- 15:41SPEAKER_01: I think we just yeah, it happened in.
- 15:44SPEAKER_01: 2005, I think.
- 15:45SPEAKER_01: So we all went a lot.
- 15:48SPEAKER_00: And you showed you got one movie four years after it came out.
- 15:53SPEAKER_01: You were a Londoner.
- 15:54SPEAKER_00: Uh yeah, pretty much.
- 15:55SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 15:56SPEAKER_00: We we had like a multi, we had a city world that showed everything.
- 15:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we had to have to drive an hour and ten minutes into Birmingham to go to Hollywood Ball.
- 16:06SPEAKER_01: Which had Cinema attached.
- 16:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I just a Hollywood Ball next to one of the cinemas that we had played here, but yeah, that was that was the bad cinema, so we avoided it.
- 16:16SPEAKER_00: You had a choice.
- 16:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 16:18SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 16:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 16:20SPEAKER_00: I just tried to actually watch the movies as well.
- 16:23SPEAKER_00: I didn't just have to watch this.
- 16:24SPEAKER_00: And they were in date.
- 16:27SPEAKER_00: I didn't see this when it came out.
- 16:29SPEAKER_00: I don't remember watching this one.
- 16:30SPEAKER_00: Uh so I when I when I watched it the other day for this move for this podcast, I was like, I I didn't remember anything other than the Wonka stuff.
- 16:40SPEAKER_00: I remember a clip of it coming out, like I remember a clip of it at the time and thinking this is really bad, I don't want to see this.
- 16:47SPEAKER_00: But that was in my like, that was also in my higher pretentious movie line.
- 16:52SPEAKER_00: That was like when I was what this is 2007, I was at 18.
- 16:55SPEAKER_00: I was going to, I was just going about to go to film school, and I was like, I'm not watching this, and I'm avoiding all of these kind of movies.
- 17:03SPEAKER_00: This is this is trash, this is garbage, I'm not watching this.
- 17:06SPEAKER_01: So this so this did really well in obviously all the advertising.
- 17:09SPEAKER_01: It did very well, yeah.
- 17:10SPEAKER_01: What did you what did you think that you were right and they were wrong?
- 17:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah, 100%.
- 17:15SPEAKER_01: At 17.
- 17:16SPEAKER_00: 100%, yeah.
- 17:17SPEAKER_01: I didn't have that confidence.
- 17:19SPEAKER_00: I only wrong.
- 17:20SPEAKER_00: I didn't I still don't have the confidence now.
- 17:21SPEAKER_00: I have that confidence in this only.
- 17:23SPEAKER_00: No.
- 17:23SPEAKER_00: Uh yeah, I just have that I just have confidence in movies.
- 17:26SPEAKER_01: And now that's gone as well.
- 17:28SPEAKER_00: It's gone now, yeah.
- 17:29SPEAKER_00: Now, no, it's not gone, it's now I just don't care.
- 17:31SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 17:32SPEAKER_00: Now I'm just like, if someone enjoys something, then who's to say that it's bad?
- 17:35SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 17:36SPEAKER_00: It's me with FP.
- 17:39SPEAKER_00: So I saw, yeah, so it's it grows 86.9 million worldwide on a 20 million budget.
- 17:46SPEAKER_00: It's all in reddit.
- 17:48SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 17:48SPEAKER_00: Just all on their re-releases.
- 17:50SPEAKER_00: It's still going.
- 17:52SPEAKER_00: It's like Rocky Horror in the rates.
- 17:54SPEAKER_00: Okay, we'll dress up.
- 17:57SPEAKER_00: We're gonna dress up as Willie Monka, and one of you is Willie Monka, and one of you is Jack Sparrow.
- 18:01SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, it's so it's so good.
- 18:05SPEAKER_00: What did your what did the guy that you went with think of it?
- 18:08SPEAKER_00: Um you can even discuss it.
- 18:11SPEAKER_00: You were too like too hopped up on the kiss.
- 18:13SPEAKER_01: I think he thought it was fine.
- 18:15SPEAKER_01: I don't, yeah, it's fine, yeah.
- 18:17SPEAKER_01: I don't know if we talked.
- 18:20SPEAKER_00: Too busy making it out.
- 18:22SPEAKER_01: And he can that shows.
- 18:26SPEAKER_01: I think we did get immediately after the film, we just went home.
- 18:29SPEAKER_01: Obviously, we've been 13 and 14.
- 18:31SPEAKER_01: But like, I don't think we hung out after and never saw each other again.
- 18:35SPEAKER_01: No, and then he came to one of my shows.
- 18:37SPEAKER_01: Did he?
- 18:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it was really nice.
- 18:39SPEAKER_01: I didn't realise until I sat on him in a bit of audience and participation when we pretend that he's my daughter and I'm a cow girl.
- 18:46SPEAKER_01: And um I looked him in the eyes and I was like, oh, you also sat on me during the show.
- 18:53SPEAKER_00: I did, yeah.
- 18:53SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 18:54SPEAKER_00: You made me do like gunfingers.
- 18:55SPEAKER_01: And I'll take you, don't you?
- 18:57SPEAKER_00: Maybe we can make out if you're eating nudgos.
- 19:02SPEAKER_00: Um so yeah, okay, so let's talk.
- 19:05SPEAKER_00: We'll go through it now.
- 19:06SPEAKER_00: Alright.
- 19:06SPEAKER_00: So it opens, yeah, it opens with a s a spoof of uh the Da Vinci Code, which had do people know the Da Vinci Code?
- 19:14SPEAKER_00: I'm assuming a lot of them have seen Da Vinci Code.
- 19:17SPEAKER_00: It opens with the so Lucy, uh, as you were describing, Lucy's the the really stupid stupid.
- 19:26SPEAKER_00: She's running through there, and uh there's a naked man like in the Da Vinci coding, lying on the floor, and then Kevin Hart runs in and he's whipping himself.
- 19:41SPEAKER_00: And that's the joke.
- 19:44SPEAKER_00: That's inside.
- 19:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 19:48SPEAKER_00: And then she's uh and then she's trying to uncode, she's trying to decode stuff, and it's it's decoding it, and she's uh she decodes the word and it's the word is lame, and she goes, lame is a seven-letter word, and then she figures it out, that's what she uses to figure it out, and in that and when she opens it up, she discovers a golden ticket to the Willie Wonka factory.
- 20:12SPEAKER_01: I don't know, I didn't I'm just I've not seen the Vinci code, so I didn't get any of these references.
- 20:16SPEAKER_01: So I have no idea what it is.
- 20:18SPEAKER_00: It's really cramming things together, it's like really like putting every kind of movie into one.
- 20:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's not like But also like I just couldn't follow it, it was just a narrative, I just I had no idea what was going on because it was just reference, reference, reference.
- 20:30SPEAKER_00: It's just like this happens, this happens, this happens.
- 20:32SPEAKER_00: It's not it's not like it's not trying to be smart about it or anything.
- 20:36SPEAKER_01: No, and it makes it's quite interesting if you have no idea what's going on.
- 20:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah, was it what you what were you like thinking as you were watching it?
- 20:43SPEAKER_00: So stupid.
- 20:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 20:44SPEAKER_00: I think that's what they just earned people to think.
- 20:46SPEAKER_00: It's just like this is just she's stupid, girls are stupid.
- 20:49SPEAKER_01: She's so funny.
- 20:51SPEAKER_00: We're not allowed to be stupid anymore, I think, because everyone's scared of uh being offensive.
- 20:55unknown: Yeah.
- 20:56SPEAKER_01: I think she she's she's one for the records.
- 20:59SPEAKER_01: Fling back her, Miranda, the other woman in comedy.
- 21:04SPEAKER_00: Her and Miranda.
- 21:06SPEAKER_00: Her and Miranda, and famously Schneofy, yeah.
- 21:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 21:13SPEAKER_00: Um I had really enjoyed her.
- 21:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah, Bleedback's break.
- 21:16SPEAKER_00: Um then it goes to Cal Penn's character who's in a Mexican monastery.
- 21:23SPEAKER_01: And yeah, I haven't seen this film either that that's Nacho Libre.
- 21:27SPEAKER_00: Nacho Libre, so you must have enjoyed this.
- 21:29SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, because a Nacho's.
- 21:35SPEAKER_01: Is that when you were allowed to get them?
- 21:37SPEAKER_01: No, I came in with them.
- 21:38SPEAKER_01: I came in with them and knowing that I was gonna kiss it.
- 21:42SPEAKER_01: But I I remember deciding as well whether I should get a hot dog or nachos.
- 21:46SPEAKER_01: And then I went, I was like, Nacho's on the least expensive.
- 21:49SPEAKER_01: Really?
- 21:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 21:51SPEAKER_00: Oh, I guess you were 13, you're like.
- 21:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's easy.
- 21:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm loving it, maybe.
- 21:58SPEAKER_00: Stupid girls.
- 22:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so he's eating, and then he goes, uh he's not eating, um, no, uh it's the Nacho Libre character who's like a Mexican wrestler, and it's the it's Jack Black, and he's going, um, it's not Jack Black himself, but it's a guy who looks very much like Jack Black.
- 22:17SPEAKER_00: He really does like Jack Black.
- 22:18SPEAKER_00: This is the one character that actually looks like the other one.
- 22:21SPEAKER_00: And he just you know he yells out, Nacho, which is what he does in the in the film, but then he just goes, Nacho! Jeez, Doritos are delicious, and then holds it back at Doritos.
- 22:36SPEAKER_00: And it's such clear product placement and no joke.
- 22:41SPEAKER_00: That's funny.
- 22:43SPEAKER_01: That's a funny thing to do.
- 22:45SPEAKER_01: It's so obvious.
- 22:46SPEAKER_01: Obviously, it's so obvious.
- 22:47SPEAKER_01: It's so bad, they could do anything else.
- 22:50SPEAKER_01: But surely they're aware, right?
- 22:52SPEAKER_00: I just think they don't care.
- 22:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think they can.
- 22:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, funny, yeah.
- 22:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 22:57SPEAKER_00: But um, yeah, so Cal Penn's character.
- 23:00SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah, Manny from uh uh Modern Family's in this as well, as the young character uh the young kid version.
- 23:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 23:06SPEAKER_00: Um it's a modern family.
- 23:09SPEAKER_01: But he's an epic movie.
- 23:14SPEAKER_01: All my references to films are in relation to epic movie.
- 23:18SPEAKER_01: Why do they have a part?
- 23:20SPEAKER_00: There's not.
- 23:21SPEAKER_01: Why are men's characters so well around it?
- 23:25SPEAKER_00: Um yeah, so he's like, um, but yeah, basically he's uh he's really echoing.
- 23:31SPEAKER_00: Is it mine?
- 23:32SPEAKER_00: I think it's mine.
- 23:33SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's he's really um yeah, he he he Cal's Penn's character is just getting like beat up by this this uh this why is that colour so loud?
- 23:42SPEAKER_00: Don't you use mine?
- 23:45SPEAKER_00: It's fine.
- 23:47SPEAKER_00: Maybe I'm too close here.
- 23:55SPEAKER_00: I might be wearing Nacho colours today as well.
- 23:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 23:59SPEAKER_01: Um Nacho Jeez.
- 24:03SPEAKER_00: That could be your catchphrase then.
- 24:08SPEAKER_00: Nacho, that catchphrase comedy.
- 24:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 24:14SPEAKER_00: But anyway, he gets beat up by this nacho character, and then he gets thrown through a table, and that's when he discovers his golden ticket to the factory.
- 24:22SPEAKER_01: And then Oh yeah, they're also all playing children, aren't they?
- 24:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah, well, are they?
- 24:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he's an he's like an orphan child.
- 24:30SPEAKER_01: Are they playing children though?
- 24:32SPEAKER_01: Are they not?
- 24:33SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 24:34SPEAKER_01: But for any of that to make sense, they have to be children.
- 24:37SPEAKER_00: So you're trying to make sense of this movie.
- 24:39SPEAKER_00: I've I assume they were children.
- 24:41SPEAKER_00: Okay, yeah, they probably are.
- 24:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 24:43SPEAKER_00: They probably just yeah.
- 24:44SPEAKER_01: In a funny, like, who's that?
- 24:46SPEAKER_01: Who's that like uh older woman who plays a child with her husband?
- 24:51SPEAKER_01: Anyone know?
- 24:52SPEAKER_01: She's uh she the crankies, yeah.
- 24:54SPEAKER_01: Oh the cranky.
- 24:56SPEAKER_00: I thought it was like the crankies thing.
- 24:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 24:59SPEAKER_00: Uh Did you not think they were children?
- 25:01SPEAKER_00: No.
- 25:02SPEAKER_00: Didn't think about it, to be honest.
- 25:04SPEAKER_00: Especially for later on.
- 25:05SPEAKER_00: There's stuff later on that's like.
- 25:07SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah, that's Rory.
- 25:09SPEAKER_00: Uh but any, yeah, so like she finds that.
- 25:12SPEAKER_00: Then it comes to a plane.
- 25:14SPEAKER_00: And does anyone want to guess where this goes?
- 25:16SPEAKER_00: So 2006, there's a a woman on a plane.
- 25:19SPEAKER_00: Does anyone want to guess what the reference is?
- 25:23SPEAKER_00: Snakes on a plane.
- 25:24SPEAKER_00: Who's that now?
- 25:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you got it.
- 25:27SPEAKER_00: Snakes on a plane.
- 25:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 25:29SPEAKER_01: Well, I watched Snakes on a plane, that's Snakes on a train.
- 25:32SPEAKER_01: It's not the second one.
- 25:34SPEAKER_00: No.
- 25:35SPEAKER_00: Oh god.
- 25:38SPEAKER_01: Is it good?
- 25:39SPEAKER_01: I haven't.
- 25:40SPEAKER_01: I will never get back from my life again.
- 25:44SPEAKER_01: You should watch everything.
- 25:47SPEAKER_00: But it's the worst Samuel L.
- 25:50SPEAKER_00: Jackson first name I've ever seen in my life.
- 25:53SPEAKER_01: But then he just does the catch phrase.
- 25:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but he does it twice.
- 25:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah, again and again and again.
- 25:58SPEAKER_01: That's funny.
- 25:59SPEAKER_01: That's funny.
- 26:00SPEAKER_01: To like really go, that's clam, isn't it?
- 26:03SPEAKER_01: It's clam, yeah, it's very much clambing.
- 26:04SPEAKER_01: Just like hammering having something that's not working.
- 26:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 26:10unknown: Um, yeah, no.
- 26:11unknown: But the snakes are nice to see.
- 26:12SPEAKER_00: The snakes are good, yeah.
- 26:14SPEAKER_00: But then he just picks up the woman and throws her out of the way for no reason.
- 26:20unknown: That's funny.
- 26:21SPEAKER_00: And she lands on Harry Silton.
- 26:24SPEAKER_00: A really bad Harry Silton impersonates.
- 26:26SPEAKER_00: A really bad Harry Silton impersonates her, then she says, that's hot.
- 26:31SPEAKER_00: That's funny.
- 26:34SPEAKER_00: And then the final of the main four characters is Peter, who's in the Mutant Academy from X-Men.
- 26:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah, this went again over my head.
- 26:43SPEAKER_01: I haven't seen any of the four main films that they start with.
- 26:47SPEAKER_01: The uh, yeah, and he's like, he fancies a blue ladies.
- 26:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, Mystique.
- 26:52SPEAKER_01: I thought was an avatar.
- 26:54SPEAKER_00: This is pre-avatar.
- 26:57SPEAKER_00: Although when you saw it, post-avatar.
- 26:59SPEAKER_00: Post-avatar.
- 27:00SPEAKER_00: Well, you've got avatar.
- 27:03SPEAKER_00: Oh no, I'm sorry.
- 27:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 27:05SPEAKER_01: But she's not avatar, she is Mystique.
- 27:07SPEAKER_01: Mystique.
- 27:08SPEAKER_00: She shapeshifts, that's the other thing.
- 27:10SPEAKER_00: But they also call her Mystique in this, they don't even like trying to change her.
- 27:13SPEAKER_01: No.
- 27:14SPEAKER_00: There's nothing different about her in this movie.
- 27:16SPEAKER_01: That makes a lot of sense because she shapeshifts later.
- 27:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 27:18SPEAKER_01: In a beautiful bit of storytelling.
- 27:21SPEAKER_00: She's played by Carmen Electra in this movie.
- 27:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 27:25SPEAKER_00: And Carmen Electra is a recurring character in a recurring actress in all of these people's movies.
- 27:31SPEAKER_00: So that's the level of acting.
- 27:34SPEAKER_01: None of them really worked the day after this.
- 27:37SPEAKER_00: No.
- 27:37SPEAKER_01: That's what I've said about.
- 27:43SPEAKER_01: She's Mr.
- 27:43SPEAKER_01: Schuster's.
- 27:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah, she's she's the wife, yeah.
- 27:45SPEAKER_01: She's funny in that and her MAQ.
- 27:47SPEAKER_01: She's the joker said she's stupid.
- 27:49SPEAKER_00: Cal Penn went on to went to work on wait, went to work in the Obama administration.
- 27:53SPEAKER_00: What?
- 27:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that was what he did right after this.
- 27:58SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 27:59SPEAKER_00: Weird interview.
- 28:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 28:04SPEAKER_00: Harold and Kumar went to White Castle.
- 28:07SPEAKER_00: That bit's a cringe.
- 28:08SPEAKER_00: Dan Wilder.
- 28:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 28:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, of course you see it.
- 28:13SPEAKER_01: That's a really oh it's so upsetting.
- 28:15SPEAKER_01: There's a bit because the Harold and Kumar go to White Castle is I love Harold and Kumar.
- 28:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 28:22SPEAKER_00: That's a great movie.
- 28:23SPEAKER_00: Really funny movie.
- 28:24SPEAKER_00: It's a really funny movie.
- 28:24SPEAKER_01: And then there's a bit in epic movie where she will get to it, but she's like, the White Castle.
- 28:30SPEAKER_01: And then he's like, I've been there before.
- 28:33SPEAKER_01: It's like, oh my god.
- 28:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's like you don't need to be resistant.
- 28:36SPEAKER_00: So sad.
- 28:37SPEAKER_00: And I think that was like three years after the movie as well.
- 28:41SPEAKER_00: It's like it's not even recent.
- 28:43SPEAKER_01: Make it a sense of contract.
- 28:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he's like, I have to reference something.
- 28:49SPEAKER_00: I'm playing a little boy with a striped t-shirt on.
- 28:53SPEAKER_00: Um he yeah, so uh this guy Peter, he here's something here's something interesting.
- 28:59SPEAKER_00: Peter and Lucy met on this movie, got married.
- 29:05SPEAKER_00: So one good thing came out of it.
- 29:07SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's really nice.
- 29:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I don't know what his personality trait is.
- 29:11SPEAKER_01: He's good looking, maybe that's it.
- 29:12SPEAKER_01: Is he though the 13-year-old Lawrence?
- 29:18unknown: Yeah.
- 29:19SPEAKER_00: He has a giant forehead, not to like someone with a giant forehead, he has a giant forehead.
- 29:27SPEAKER_01: I would what is his personality trait if it isn't good looking?
- 29:29SPEAKER_00: I think that is supposed to be his personality trait.
- 29:31SPEAKER_00: He's supposed to be the the Prince King sort of like like he's the one that he's the one they're trying to recruit, essentially.
- 29:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 29:39SPEAKER_00: Um but he's like he's bullied by Wolverine, he's bullied by uh he's bullied by Storm, like all of those characters.
- 29:48SPEAKER_00: And Mystique is Wolverine's boyfriend in this.
- 29:52SPEAKER_00: Uh girlfriend, sorry.
- 29:53SPEAKER_00: Um these people.
- 29:57SPEAKER_00: Um and instead of so basically he's he's supposed to be the character angel who grows wings, but instead of it he grows chicken wings.
- 30:11SPEAKER_00: Dan is screaming.
- 30:14SPEAKER_00: Dan is calling the show.
- 30:16SPEAKER_00: Um so yeah, they all they all get their they all end up getting their their golden tickets and going to Wonker's factory.
- 30:25SPEAKER_00: Crispin Glover is Wonka.
- 30:28SPEAKER_00: And if we know if you know anything about Kristen Glover, he's he's a strange man.
- 30:34SPEAKER_00: He he somehow makes Wonka even weirder than than than than the Johnny Depp version.
- 30:40SPEAKER_01: It's really odd that how he does that.
- 30:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 30:42SPEAKER_01: It's quite a feat.
- 30:43unknown: Yeah.
- 30:44SPEAKER_01: Because he could Johnny Depp's Wonker is creepy.
- 30:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 30:47SPEAKER_01: I thought it was funny, I thought it was funny at the start, because he like he just mimicked Johnny Depp.
- 30:54SPEAKER_01: He does like the rolling on the floor.
- 30:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's good.
- 30:56SPEAKER_00: I was like, okay, fine.
- 30:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 30:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 30:58SPEAKER_00: And then when he gets inside.
- 31:00SPEAKER_01: Oh, he just becomes a bean of bar.
- 31:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he'd be honest.
- 31:02SPEAKER_00: Oh, be the bar.
- 31:04SPEAKER_01: Which would make sense if they were kids.
- 31:06SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 31:07SPEAKER_01: Yes, you're right.
- 31:07SPEAKER_01: Otherwise, there's no threat.
- 31:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 31:09SPEAKER_01: Okay, good point.
- 31:11SPEAKER_01: Good point.
- 31:11SPEAKER_01: They could just leave otherwise.
- 31:14SPEAKER_01: I also like, I'm not a big fan of the toilet humour in this, but it's horrible.
- 31:17SPEAKER_01: Like, oh, it's disgusting.
- 31:19SPEAKER_01: All the chocolate is, as you can imagine.
- 31:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 31:21SPEAKER_01: Poop.
- 31:21SPEAKER_00: And they like, yeah, it's awful.
- 31:23SPEAKER_00: He's eating it, he goes, Oh, this is delicious, and then they realise it's poo.
- 31:28SPEAKER_00: It's like, that makes no sense.
- 31:32SPEAKER_00: So lazy, isn't it?
- 31:33SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 31:34unknown: It's the sewer line instead of the actual chocolate river.
- 31:38unknown: And then we're gonna request it or somewhere down.
- 31:40SPEAKER_00: They do to with with Wonka to Fergalicious.
- 31:48SPEAKER_00: I went, this is the clip I was gonna show, because it's it's it's mad.
- 31:51SPEAKER_00: It's like it yeah, they they look they do a dance to Fergalicious.
- 31:55SPEAKER_00: He does like break dancing at one point, because why not?
- 31:58SPEAKER_00: Um they that each one of them he takes each one of their a body part from each one of them.
- 32:04SPEAKER_00: Obviously, one of them he takes their nuts, puts them in the chocolate.
- 32:08SPEAKER_00: Uh yeah.
- 32:09SPEAKER_00: Uh he took he makes a chocolate heart, like you know, all that stuff.
- 32:13SPEAKER_00: I think it's quite creative, I thought.
- 32:15SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 32:16SPEAKER_01: And it's nice to imagine what like Carly Chocolate battery, like if it if it went wrong, you know what I mean?
- 32:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 32:22SPEAKER_01: I appreciate what that means.
- 32:23SPEAKER_01: Did it go right?
- 32:25SPEAKER_01: No, it doesn't go right.
- 32:26SPEAKER_01: But like you can see the like like the childish creativity there of like that's what we're gonna do.
- 32:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 32:32SPEAKER_00: I mean it's it's one of the best it is one of the best.
- 32:36SPEAKER_00: It's one of the best bits.
- 32:37SPEAKER_00: It I went to the YouTube comments and someone goes, oh, this is the most amazing part of the film.
- 32:45SPEAKER_00: It's like 14 years ago the comedy, like nobody's already said anything since then.
- 32:51SPEAKER_00: I'll go back and was it your name?
- 32:55SPEAKER_00: There's like it was so hard to find YouTube clips of this.
- 32:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's really hidden, isn't it?
- 33:01SPEAKER_00: I wonder why, because even bad things are out there.
- 33:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 33:04SPEAKER_00: There's like that, there was this, and then there was uh the Pirates of the Caribbean stuff, and that was it.
- 33:10SPEAKER_00: That's all I could find.
- 33:11SPEAKER_00: Not even the Harry Potter stuff.
- 33:13SPEAKER_00: Weird.
- 33:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's interesting.
- 33:15SPEAKER_00: But yeah, you like um, yeah, so they got they do the photographic dance, they then they run and hide from uh they the four of them run and hide from Willie because he starts chasing them.
- 33:25SPEAKER_00: Um yeah, they call him Willie the whole time, actually.
- 33:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 33:30SPEAKER_00: And he uh they go, they run into Lucy runs into a wardrobe and she gets taken to Narnia.
- 33:40SPEAKER_00: And this is where the film just becomes a lion which in the wardrobe.
- 33:43SPEAKER_00: It's fully lion which in the wardrobe this way, yeah.
- 33:45SPEAKER_01: Which I really liked and had sin.
- 33:47SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay.
- 33:47SPEAKER_01: So you said it at the time, yeah.
- 33:49SPEAKER_00: So this is finally a reference you got.
- 33:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 33:51SPEAKER_01: And when I watched it this week, I just said to be fair, I'd said the woodwork, but I I the rest of the film is basically just a parody of lion watching the wardrobe.
- 33:59SPEAKER_00: So if you like that, then yeah, the rest of it is line in which in the wardrobe combined with like little references of other things.
- 34:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 34:05SPEAKER_00: Um yeah, she finds a go, she finds the fawn go character.
- 34:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 34:12SPEAKER_00: And he's he is he's got like a he's got like a Mexican accent for some reason, and he's just going, I don't know what that choice happened.
- 34:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 34:23SPEAKER_00: And he he's going, my bad, and uh he talks about his goatee, and all of that, anything related to go humour.
- 34:34SPEAKER_00: It's like it's written by a child.
- 34:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 34:36SPEAKER_01: And then he go takes them back to his house and they do um uh Hey MTV, this is my crib.
- 34:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 34:43SPEAKER_00: And they he like that was the actually that was the other clip I found.
- 34:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, which probably the worst thing in the whole film.
- 34:51SPEAKER_00: It's it's so rare.
- 34:52SPEAKER_01: But I think I think it's funny because also I don't I never really watch MTV when I was a little bit.
- 34:56SPEAKER_00: I was saying this, like at this point, Cribs is dated.
- 35:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's a dated reference.
- 35:02SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 35:03SPEAKER_00: So it's cringe there.
- 35:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's cringe there.
- 35:06SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 35:06SPEAKER_00: It's like they talk they don't talk about MTV cribs and they talk about like the uh he said he shows around a crib and he shows like every every TV everywhere.
- 35:15SPEAKER_00: He's like, you've got to have a TV in every room in your house, you've got to have a TV in the bath, you've got to have a TV on a woman's head while she's polishing your hooves.
- 35:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's right.
- 35:24SPEAKER_01: Pull back reveal, you think she's giving him a blow job?
- 35:27SPEAKER_01: She's a shining shoes.
- 35:29SPEAKER_01: Hooves?
- 35:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he doesn't have shoes, don't he?
- 35:32SPEAKER_00: So he's a go.
- 35:34SPEAKER_00: And he's also in love with um he's a gay partner.
- 35:38SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah, yeah, he's in love with uh uh Cat Williams.
- 35:42SPEAKER_00: Who is the beaver?
- 35:47SPEAKER_01: Uh for me that's retrospective, like now watching it, that's it's really random that they've just made like an inclusive couple, because there's no jokes about them.
- 35:55SPEAKER_01: No, there's no jokes at all, it's quite a nice five.
- 35:58SPEAKER_01: He's in love with a beaver, so that's the thing.
- 36:00SPEAKER_00: It's not that he's in love with a man with a beaver.
- 36:03SPEAKER_00: It's interesting.
- 36:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's it's dated well.
- 36:06SPEAKER_00: For that time, it's quite strange that they have that and and it's well received.
- 36:11SPEAKER_01: Uh but it's also strange.
- 36:25SPEAKER_01: Um what is coming out of your neck?
- 36:43SPEAKER_00: Uh this is where we get to the point where we find the evil white witch, or as she's known in this movie.
- 36:52SPEAKER_01: The white bitch, that's funny.
- 36:55SPEAKER_01: See, no, I think I think we've come to a point of feminism that we've gone, well no, we've gone completely wrong, but we've gone past it now.
- 37:02SPEAKER_01: Like we were it was a wave, isn't it?
- 37:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 37:04SPEAKER_01: So being a really stupid woman and being a bitch is funny, right?
- 37:10SPEAKER_01: But um but then I'm you know in my mind.
- 37:12SPEAKER_01: Well my new character's gonna be Jennifer Coolidge is reclaiming the bitch, she's the white bitch, she's like the antagonist of such a great, she's funny, isn't it?
- 37:20SPEAKER_01: She's such a great character, like, and she's apparently the snow queen, which is already a great character.
- 37:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 37:26SPEAKER_01: But I'm looking at it with a 2024 lens.
- 37:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 37:29SPEAKER_01: Where like we use bitch date daily.
- 37:32SPEAKER_01: We use bitch daily bitch.
- 37:34SPEAKER_01: Um don't please uh bring me with this daily.
- 37:39SPEAKER_01: You use bitch daily.
- 37:41SPEAKER_01: Um and you say women are stupid.
- 37:43SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, I think again, this has aged well as well.
- 37:49SPEAKER_01: And she doesn't get her boots out, does she?
- 37:52SPEAKER_00: She does.
- 37:53SPEAKER_00: Does she?
- 37:54SPEAKER_00: She does.
- 37:54SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 37:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 37:55SPEAKER_00: Although I've been watching the unrated version, so I don't know if like what does that mean?
- 38:00SPEAKER_00: Oh, so this is the thing back in those back in those days when they would release DVDs, and they would release them for like PG 13, 12As, but then on in the cinema, but then it released them as unrated, uncut versions on on DVD, so like teenagers would go out and buy them.
- 38:16SPEAKER_01: Uh this is actually I was watching it.
- 38:18SPEAKER_01: This is so geared for teenage boys.
- 38:21SPEAKER_01: 100%.
- 38:22SPEAKER_01: Every every like minute someone gets their boots out.
- 38:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 38:25SPEAKER_01: It's incredible.
- 38:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 38:26SPEAKER_01: And then at some point there's just uh, oh yeah, but when when Lucy first opens the wardrobe, the fully naked woman just shuts.
- 38:33SPEAKER_01: I found that really funny, but then yeah.
- 38:35SPEAKER_01: I mean it was kind of funny.
- 38:37SPEAKER_00: It was like funny.
- 38:39SPEAKER_00: That's awful.
- 38:40SPEAKER_01: Like what she's just a prop at that point.
- 38:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah, fully.
- 38:43SPEAKER_01: Um, yeah.
- 38:50SPEAKER_01: That's my sort of stuff.
- 38:52SPEAKER_01: In my show, I have a woman running out of my fully clothed.
- 38:58SPEAKER_00: We didn't even give her the choice.
- 38:59SPEAKER_00: She's not 20 years old either.
- 39:01SPEAKER_00: She's not 20.
- 39:02SPEAKER_00: Um, but she's um, yeah, so this is when she's Jennifer Coolidge sucks on Cal Penn's finger.
- 39:09SPEAKER_00: I mean that's really it make no sense.
- 39:12SPEAKER_00: That's a bit of the human life.
- 39:13SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's really gross.
- 39:14SPEAKER_00: It makes his like finger swell up.
- 39:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's gross.
- 39:16SPEAKER_01: There's um also in the post credits scene, there's um a uh like a scene of like an outtake of Jennifer Coolidge doing that scene and her going, is this where it is where it's or she just sucks the finger?
- 39:28SPEAKER_01: Oh no.
- 39:29SPEAKER_01: And it's like, oh all of those, all of the athletes are just the actors being depressed.
- 39:33unknown: Yeah.
- 39:34unknown: It's really bad.
- 39:35SPEAKER_01: Oh this probably isn't the worst thing she's done, is it?
- 39:41SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 39:42SPEAKER_00: She's done a lot of bad stuff.
- 39:43SPEAKER_00: She has done bad stuff, but then she's also done a lot of good stuff.
- 39:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 39:49SPEAKER_00: She's award an award-winning actress now, who cares?
- 39:51SPEAKER_00: Just having a renaissance, yeah.
- 39:52SPEAKER_00: People are finding using her properly.
- 39:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 39:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, they know how to how to use her in a film and on TV channel.
- 39:58SPEAKER_00: She knows they know what a style is.
- 39:59SPEAKER_00: If they're and there's more women involved in the industry, I think that's a big thing.
- 40:04SPEAKER_01: If there was a woman on this, it would have been great.
- 40:06SPEAKER_01: If there was a woman on this, yeah.
- 40:08SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 40:09SPEAKER_01: But writer.
- 40:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 40:12SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna rewrite this.
- 40:14SPEAKER_00: I would love that.
- 40:14SPEAKER_00: You know what that's your new shower is that's 2007.
- 40:22SPEAKER_00: Um they they I don't know what to say, man.
- 40:27SPEAKER_00: Like, this is nothing much happens after this other than like you know they uh they get Peter Peter realizes that uh he's oh yeah, sorry.
- 40:37SPEAKER_00: Well the white bitch takes this atomics as one of the key body parts of audience, I guess.
- 40:41SPEAKER_00: Um and then they decide to like all team up together to save the and like for Peter to become king, I think, like take over the white fish.
- 40:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they can take to the white bitch.
- 40:52SPEAKER_00: They don't have a training montage, there's Harry Potter.
- 40:55SPEAKER_01: So that I'm gonna but sorry.
- 40:58SPEAKER_01: Uh the training montage, they go to Harry Potter, they go to Hogwarts.
- 41:02SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 41:02SPEAKER_01: This is a joke I didn't understand, I didn't realise it was a joke.
- 41:05SPEAKER_01: All of the cast are like uh the joke is that they're adults and they're old.
- 41:10SPEAKER_00: I think it was not something that people thought of Harry Potter at the time.
- 41:13SPEAKER_00: I think it's just because like between around this sort of time they were like they age rapidly, and but even still they weren't, it wasn't like I don't think that was a joke.
- 41:22SPEAKER_00: No, it wasn't really it wasn't like a big joke about I just think they had nothing to do, they couldn't think of anything to do for Harry Potter, but they were like, well, you gotta get something in here.
- 41:29SPEAKER_01: It was quite funny, but they're like practicing training.
- 41:32SPEAKER_01: They would have all been about 18 at this point.
- 41:34SPEAKER_01: So maybe that's what it is.
- 41:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's what it is.
- 41:37SPEAKER_01: They're they're practicing training and they're like teaching the Narnia kids to fight, yeah, and then like Hagrid walks in and then they like zap them away, and then one gunable walks in.
- 41:46SPEAKER_01: That's very funny.
- 41:47SPEAKER_01: It's nice to see the home podcast.
- 41:50SPEAKER_00: I mean it's it's three middle-aged people playing and like Hermione's gross.
- 41:55SPEAKER_00: Hermione's pregnant.
- 41:56SPEAKER_00: Um that's not why she's gross.
- 42:00SPEAKER_00: Don't make pregnant people.
- 42:01SPEAKER_00: Rona hates women and especially pregnant women.
- 42:04SPEAKER_00: Stupid and pregnant.
- 42:07SPEAKER_00: Uh yeah, then they then they have a um, yeah, Harry's.
- 42:11SPEAKER_00: Ron or Harry's got a drinking problem.
- 42:13SPEAKER_01: Uh can't remember which one?
- 42:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's one of the jokes.
- 42:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 42:16SPEAKER_00: It's they're they're all just like the joke is that they're all messed up.
- 42:22SPEAKER_00: One of them just pregnant, that's it.
- 42:24SPEAKER_00: Um, yeah, they have training monsiers, then it cuts to a MySpace page.
- 42:29SPEAKER_00: Oh, I forgot about this bit.
- 42:31SPEAKER_00: She's hard to put in the white bitch, like, goes to her MySpace.
- 42:34SPEAKER_01: Uh yeah.
- 42:35SPEAKER_01: Wait, is this the right one?
- 42:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 42:38SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 42:38SPEAKER_00: Had and Jack swallows.
- 42:40SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 42:40SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 42:41SPEAKER_00: When he starts rolling on the the uh uh the wheel thing that he has.
- 42:46SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 42:47SPEAKER_00: Did that make any sense to you?
- 42:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I had to embarrass the carry in.
- 42:50SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 42:51SPEAKER_01: And then they have a big fight.
- 42:52SPEAKER_00: They're big fight, they do a spoof of Lonely Island.
- 42:57SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah, on the boat.
- 42:58SPEAKER_00: On the boat, yeah.
- 42:59SPEAKER_00: They do uh the so here's the weird thing, they do a spoof on a boat, but it's not of I'm on a boat, it's of uh Lazy Sunday, which is the first sketch they ever did.
- 43:10SPEAKER_00: Which makes it so they like they decided to do like two different sketches together, they made that and they put the a bad guy for both of them.
- 43:16SPEAKER_00: I just think like at the end of the day, we're all gonna die, aren't we?
- 43:19unknown: And the fact that they've they've got money to do this.
- 43:22unknown: 20 million and they spent it all.
- 43:24SPEAKER_01: Like Jennifer Kudich's makeup in this is awful.
- 43:27SPEAKER_01: So they don't have any money for a late partist.
- 43:30SPEAKER_00: I think they couldn't be bothered.
- 43:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I love I just love that.
- 43:33SPEAKER_00: I know the turnaround title of all these movies are really quick, so I think they just like mashed everything out.
- 43:38SPEAKER_01: Also, your locations, there's just so many locations and so many different characters and actors.
- 43:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 43:44SPEAKER_01: You've got the finest impersonators of Borat.
- 43:46SPEAKER_00: That's to say Borat, yeah.
- 43:48SPEAKER_00: Of course Borat's here.
- 43:49SPEAKER_00: Borat's here.
- 43:50SPEAKER_00: Borat's here in his jeepstring.
- 43:54SPEAKER_00: And he just says his catch ring.
- 43:56SPEAKER_00: He just says very nice and then spanks himself.
- 43:58SPEAKER_00: That's so cool.
- 43:59SPEAKER_00: That's so.
- 44:10SPEAKER_01: Is that who that was?
- 44:12SPEAKER_01: I think he named himself.
- 44:13SPEAKER_01: I have no idea what that was going on.
- 44:15SPEAKER_01: He's just a guy in a shirt.
- 44:18SPEAKER_00: I thought it was very clearly Mel Gibson, though.
- 44:20SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 44:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I guess when you're 13, it's like, who's that?
- 44:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 44:24SPEAKER_00: 25 year old I am.
- 44:27unknown: I don't know.
- 44:29unknown: Um, what's this the other day?
- 44:30unknown: I had no idea who that was.
- 44:31unknown: Yeah, okay.
- 44:32unknown: Um it's doesn't matter.
- 44:33SPEAKER_00: What's his thing?
- 44:34SPEAKER_00: Was he It's just a thing at the time that he was he got drunk and made like some awful stuff.
- 44:39SPEAKER_01: Is he the the the song about Jesus?
- 44:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 44:42SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 44:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 44:44SPEAKER_01: Was it a good film?
- 44:46SPEAKER_01: Gruesome.
- 44:47SPEAKER_01: Gruesome.
- 44:49SPEAKER_01: Was it?
- 44:49SPEAKER_00: Um There's more reasons.
- 44:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, there's more reasons to like if you're looking through it.
- 44:57SPEAKER_00: That's what I'll do tonight.
- 44:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 44:59SPEAKER_00: Write him out of your version.
- 45:02SPEAKER_00: Um yeah, Aslo is in this, so Aslo is um Aslan.
- 45:08SPEAKER_00: Aslan?
- 45:09SPEAKER_00: No, it's Aslow.
- 45:09SPEAKER_00: Oh, sorry, yeah, yeah.
- 45:11SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 45:12SPEAKER_00: That's right, yeah.
- 45:13SPEAKER_00: Sorry.
- 45:14SPEAKER_00: A lot of people are in the Witch in the Ward like this is not.
- 45:17SPEAKER_01: I think I am.
- 45:18SPEAKER_01: Um that's a good story.
- 45:21SPEAKER_00: The uh he he I've seen him before as well, won't he?
- 45:24SPEAKER_00: Fred Willard, he's in a lot of comedies.
- 45:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 45:26SPEAKER_00: He's in so many things.
- 45:27SPEAKER_01: He's got a big face.
- 45:29unknown: Yeah.
- 45:31SPEAKER_00: Recently passed.
- 45:37SPEAKER_01: Really recently.
- 45:38SPEAKER_01: No, that'll be really good.
- 45:39SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay, that's right then.
- 45:40SPEAKER_00: Uh but he's he's funny, isn't it?
- 45:43SPEAKER_00: He's funny.
- 45:43SPEAKER_00: He plays like yeah, like Aslan uh Aslow the Lion.
- 45:47SPEAKER_01: But then he has sex with all the children.
- 45:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah, again, yeah, that's that's the funny part.
- 45:51SPEAKER_01: But they're adults.
- 45:52SPEAKER_01: They're adults in the film.
- 45:57SPEAKER_01: And he's a lion.
- 45:59SPEAKER_00: They have a party and is he half-lion?
- 46:03unknown: Yeah.
- 46:04SPEAKER_01: Half lion, half-man.
- 46:05SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 46:06SPEAKER_01: And they've got a funny joke about how his parents joke as the goat.
- 46:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah, his parents, yeah, he's the same joke as the goat.
- 46:13SPEAKER_01: His parents work with Sigarita Sigarita.
- 46:17SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 46:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 46:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 46:20SPEAKER_01: So it's not a line.
- 46:21SPEAKER_01: That's what I think.
- 46:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah, cigarette, I think they say.
- 46:24SPEAKER_00: Um yeah, they have a party before they save all before they go on uh the site to save everyone.
- 46:32SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 46:32SPEAKER_00: And the Girl Be Rump and Hornets for I want to say a minute and a half.
- 46:37SPEAKER_00: That's horrible.
- 46:38SPEAKER_00: That's very family guy.
- 46:40SPEAKER_01: But that's what was good at the time, right?
- 46:43SPEAKER_01: No.
- 46:44SPEAKER_01: What good movies were out in 2007?
- 46:47SPEAKER_01: Superbed?
- 46:49SPEAKER_01: Superbare?
- 46:50SPEAKER_00: They pop it in Superbird.
- 46:51SPEAKER_00: They do, but it's like.
- 46:53SPEAKER_00: And it's not a minute and a half.
- 46:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 46:56SPEAKER_01: But it's um it's again, it's interesting to look at.
- 46:59SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 47:00SPEAKER_00: This is when um uh what's his name?
- 47:04SPEAKER_00: Sleeps with sleep.
- 47:06SPEAKER_01: And she's honey, yeah.
- 47:08SPEAKER_01: He so she's having sex with him, and she and he keeps asking her to like change.
- 47:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but like, what does she do?
- 47:15SPEAKER_01: She grows a leg.
- 47:17SPEAKER_00: She grows a leg, a monobrow, um, and he says he wants a badonka donk, he wants to have a badonka donk, which is a big big bun.
- 47:24SPEAKER_00: Uh bingo wings.
- 47:26SPEAKER_00: Yes, don't it?
- 47:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 47:28SPEAKER_01: Like I think that's like I think that when you're obviously they're making it for children.
- 47:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 47:35SPEAKER_01: And it wasn't a good time in the yeah.
- 47:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's crucified.
- 47:41SPEAKER_01: It's they're pretty done like women in this.
- 47:44SPEAKER_01: No, they are bad to women in this.
- 47:46SPEAKER_01: Uh but I think the I think the no, the intention was probably bad, wasn't it?
- 47:51SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah.
- 47:54SPEAKER_00: Uh yeah, that they're finishing it off, they they they uh they they have an octopus.
- 47:59SPEAKER_00: There's an octopus in it's thrown on them.
- 48:03SPEAKER_00: Uh it's the octopus from uh pirate parabola.
- 48:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 48:09SPEAKER_00: Somehow good CGI?
- 48:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it looks really good, doesn't it?
- 48:12SPEAKER_00: I reckon they're supposed to spend most of their budget on that.
- 48:15SPEAKER_01: And then she plays the Orkman like he does therapy, yeah.
- 48:19unknown: Uh but it's to Miss New Booty.
- 48:22SPEAKER_01: Which is pretty cool, because it's Jennifer Coolidge doing uh doing Miss New Booty but doing it as that octopus guy.
- 48:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 48:31SPEAKER_00: And then she goes, take that group off.
- 48:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 48:35SPEAKER_01: And what and then what happens?
- 48:38SPEAKER_00: They pause they use the click remote, the remote from the pause it.
- 48:43SPEAKER_01: And then solve all the problems.
- 48:44SPEAKER_00: And solve all the problems.
- 48:45SPEAKER_01: I know I actually did like this bit.
- 48:47SPEAKER_01: Because I think click is what I I like click.
- 48:50SPEAKER_01: It's good.
- 48:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 48:51SPEAKER_01: And it's a fair sound movie click.
- 48:53SPEAKER_01: It's where he can like his remote control and remind and stuff.
- 48:57SPEAKER_01: That's a fun, that's a fun way of finishing, like solving all the controls.
- 49:00SPEAKER_00: It's a very easy moment, yeah.
- 49:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 49:04SPEAKER_00: It's very fitting with this.
- 49:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 49:07SPEAKER_00: What's the lowest, what's the easiest way we can do anything?
- 49:10SPEAKER_01: The remote control just falls from nowhere, doesn't it?
- 49:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it does.
- 49:13SPEAKER_01: Nothing seems.
- 49:15SPEAKER_00: It's incredible.
- 49:17SPEAKER_00: Um but they they win, they become the kings and queens for hundreds of years, I think.
- 49:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 49:24SPEAKER_00: They become old.
- 49:25SPEAKER_01: And this bit's really funny, I actually I think is actually really good.
- 49:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 49:29SPEAKER_01: They are they they're like old and they are weeing in the snow, they're like spelling their names out in the snow.
- 49:36SPEAKER_01: That's really funny, and they all do it.
- 49:38SPEAKER_01: That's quite feminist.
- 49:40SPEAKER_01: They're all doing it, they're like everyone's doing it, yeah.
- 49:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 49:43SPEAKER_01: And then they and then they they realise that they're weighing on one of the big great coats from the wardrobe.
- 49:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 49:51SPEAKER_01: That's funny.
- 49:52SPEAKER_01: If and it like as a fan of Lion of the Richard Wardrobe, that's a funny way of finding.
- 49:56SPEAKER_01: As a fan?
- 49:57SPEAKER_01: As a fan.
- 49:59SPEAKER_00: It's a great collection of books.
- 50:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 50:01SPEAKER_02: You even read them all.
- 50:03SPEAKER_00: No, I've seen I've seen the first movie.
- 50:05SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 50:06SPEAKER_00: That's it.
- 50:07SPEAKER_01: You should watch uh no, you should read the books.
- 50:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah, probably.
- 50:09SPEAKER_01: They're classics.
- 50:10SPEAKER_00: I know, I know.
- 50:11SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 50:13SPEAKER_01: You would prefer this film if you'd definitely.
- 50:16SPEAKER_00: Then I will not be reading them.
- 50:19SPEAKER_00: But they yeah, it ends.
- 50:20SPEAKER_00: Basically, it ends with them going back through the wartrobe and they become young again.
- 50:24SPEAKER_00: And then they get run over by the wheel.
- 50:28SPEAKER_01: That's it.
- 50:29SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, because they're back in William Walker's factory, aren't they?
- 50:31SPEAKER_00: They get run over by the wheel from Pirates Caribbean.
- 50:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 50:34SPEAKER_01: That's it.
- 50:34SPEAKER_01: It all ties together.
- 50:36SPEAKER_01: I guess.
- 50:37SPEAKER_00: That's an epic movie.
- 50:39SPEAKER_00: It's epic, it does all that says on the two.
- 50:41SPEAKER_00: It does, yeah.
- 50:42SPEAKER_00: So the critical.
- 50:44SPEAKER_00: Basically, like you you've been talking about what you love about it.
- 50:48SPEAKER_00: But like, is there anything specific that you want to talk about before?
- 50:51SPEAKER_00: Um, we've got like five minutes there, so I'm gonna rush through it.
- 50:58SPEAKER_00: No, no, no, yeah, but while you're doing that, it's yeah, it's got 2% on 66 reviews and an average of 2.3 out of 10 altogether.
- 51:08SPEAKER_00: It's on Metacritic, 17 out of 100 based on 17 reviews.
- 51:13SPEAKER_00: Um average always that's C minus.
- 51:16SPEAKER_01: Uh I think the only thing for me is that it I admire its consistency.
- 51:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 51:26SPEAKER_01: And I think it's because it's consistently bad.
- 51:30SPEAKER_01: It has a no, interesting.
- 51:32SPEAKER_01: It has a tone to it.
- 51:35SPEAKER_01: I think it is innovative and has a consistently new tone, like nothing else is like this.
- 51:42SPEAKER_01: I really I did really enjoy rewatching it this week because I was like, I've never I've never done anything like this before, but when I saw it.
- 51:50SPEAKER_00: Like sort of let's all of the other spoof movies that these guys have made.
- 51:55SPEAKER_01: Yes, but this was the first.
- 51:57SPEAKER_01: This was the first that you saw.
- 51:58SPEAKER_01: And also that I saw, and the yeah, and the only.
- 52:01SPEAKER_01: And I think I think the yeah, like it has it is a genre.
- 52:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's a blue genre.
- 52:08SPEAKER_01: That's amazing.
- 52:11SPEAKER_00: Is it a genre that you're gonna continue?
- 52:14SPEAKER_01: So you make myself.
- 52:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah, will you ever will you ever make a spook movie?
- 52:18SPEAKER_01: Um, you know what, I do use a lot of I do use genre, like I try and do genre.
- 52:24SPEAKER_01: You do a lot of character work as well, so I really do want to compare my work to the but I do like I don't like I understand where they're coming from.
- 52:33SPEAKER_01: I'm not a teenage boy, that's the thing.
- 52:36SPEAKER_01: And they're coming from it from a 2007 barely grown-up teenage boys perspective.
- 52:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 52:42SPEAKER_01: But some of the audacity and the choices that they make I think is admirable.
- 52:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 52:47SPEAKER_01: And if you love boobies, fair enough.
- 52:54SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna put all boobies in my show.
- 53:00SPEAKER_00: Do you want me to play Kumar?
- 53:02SPEAKER_00: Yes, please.
- 53:04SPEAKER_00: Um, so the the final thing too before we before we end the podcast is do you have a movie that's the reverse of this?
- 53:11SPEAKER_00: That is we uh I sprung this on you right before we went on, I'm sorry, but would you have a movie that's the reverse of this, which is well a movie that's well loved and well reviewed that you actually think is a bad movie?
- 53:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I hate all action films.
- 53:23SPEAKER_01: So all superhero films, I cannot stand.
- 53:27SPEAKER_01: I really enjoyed Wonder Vision for like the four episodes.
- 53:31SPEAKER_01: I was like, finally.
- 53:32SPEAKER_00: Oh, so they started fighting and I was like turning it off.
- 53:35SPEAKER_00: You liked it when it was like I love most of the parodies.
- 53:38SPEAKER_01: Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 53:41SPEAKER_01: I like I like it when people have emotions that aren't just anger, I think.
- 53:44SPEAKER_01: I just sort of think it's more and maybe maybe it's like yeah, I don't know.
- 53:48SPEAKER_01: I the yeah, so like any Spider-Man, Superman.
- 53:53SPEAKER_01: I like the Joker because it was about his his like lead up.
- 53:56SPEAKER_01: I hate the Joker.
- 53:57SPEAKER_01: Really?
- 53:57SPEAKER_01: Why do you hate the Joker like that?
- 53:59SPEAKER_01: But he doesn't fight, it's all that trauma.
- 54:01SPEAKER_01: I don't I don't mind it's that trauma, I think it's badly written.
- 54:04SPEAKER_01: Oh is it?
- 54:04SPEAKER_01: I haven't said in many years.
- 54:08SPEAKER_01: I saw it when it came out.
- 54:09SPEAKER_01: Um I I enjoyed that because there was plot and there was like you know relationships.
- 54:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 54:17unknown: But then yeah.
- 54:19unknown: I get that.
- 54:20unknown: I don't like yeah, Spider-Man.
- 54:21unknown: Do you like the Dark Knight?
- 54:22unknown: Or no, not at all.
- 54:25unknown: I guess that's a lot of action, but yeah.
- 54:27SPEAKER_01: And like he's just broody.
- 54:30SPEAKER_01: It's like yeah, but then it's like turns to anger, yeah.
- 54:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, boring.
- 54:37SPEAKER_01: Um any of the the I hate cars.
- 54:41SPEAKER_01: I hate cars.
- 54:43SPEAKER_01: The movie or I found my driver test four times.
- 54:48SPEAKER_01: Um past.
- 54:50SPEAKER_01: Oh my fast the fair time.
- 54:51SPEAKER_01: Okay, so try it.
- 54:53SPEAKER_01: Um cars Disney films.
- 54:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I don't like cars.
- 54:55SPEAKER_01: I went to Disney event with my parents um probably in 2007 actually.
- 54:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 55:00SPEAKER_01: And uh they were like, you've got a Disney filmed.
- 55:05SPEAKER_01: Um and they were like, we're picking up at the Disney in a Disney hotel, and I was like, this is so cool, like really exciting.
- 55:10SPEAKER_01: And then it was cars themed.
- 55:14SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 55:15SPEAKER_00: The cars on all of our two veins and like I went on the car driver at Disney Paris um in like a couple of years ago.
- 55:22SPEAKER_00: It was so shit.
- 55:23SPEAKER_00: What was it like?
- 55:24SPEAKER_00: It's just like you just sit in the car and it just wheels you round and you can't do anything, it just takes you in like a bit.
- 55:29SPEAKER_00: But it's like everyone in a it's like a train of cars.
- 55:33SPEAKER_00: Makes no sense.
- 55:34SPEAKER_01: It looks like a really slow roller coaster.
- 55:36SPEAKER_00: It's not a roller coaster.
- 55:38SPEAKER_01: But you're moving.
- 55:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you're moving.
- 55:39SPEAKER_01: You're coasting.
- 55:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 55:41SPEAKER_01: Coasting very slowly.
- 55:43SPEAKER_01: Um it's a terrible foot.
- 55:44SPEAKER_01: No, it's not terrible for one just hate it.
- 55:46SPEAKER_01: It's not a few.
- 55:47SPEAKER_01: Well, they're not cute, and I think when I want to watch animation, I want to see something that's visually nice, not a car.
- 55:52SPEAKER_01: It doesn't, it's not visually appearing.
- 55:54SPEAKER_01: And they try and make them like like people.
- 55:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 55:56SPEAKER_01: And they're like, and it's like you're a car.
- 55:59SPEAKER_01: I don't understand.
- 56:00SPEAKER_01: It's plastic and metal.
- 56:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 56:02SPEAKER_00: Well, you love Toy Story.
- 56:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that just jokes.
- 56:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah, plastic and metal.
- 56:08SPEAKER_00: Um, okay, so yeah, this has been everyone's crazy.
- 56:12SPEAKER_00: Do you have thank you so much for coming on?
- 56:13SPEAKER_00: Thank you for having me.

- 56:16SPEAKER_01: Uh I've got another, wait, what?
- 56:19SPEAKER_01: Which one were you gonna say?
- 56:20SPEAKER_01: Say what are you gonna say first?
- 56:21SPEAKER_01: I've got another Soho run.
- 56:23SPEAKER_01: Is that what you're saying?
- 56:24SPEAKER_01: Um in June from the Jimmy Day Snow.
- 56:30SPEAKER_00: I think it's the beginning of June.
- 56:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I want to say it's it's sick, it's four nights.

- 57:01SPEAKER_01: No, it's it's uh it's a parody of uh like women's views and current affairs.
- 57:06SPEAKER_01: Nice.
- 57:07SPEAKER_00: Oh amazing.
- 57:08SPEAKER_00: Are you writing that with with John?
- 57:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
