- 0:00Speaker 1: Bule Cap Podcast special guests got my guy Yo Concrete
- 0:02Speaker 1: in the building was v welcome man. So for people
- 0:06Speaker 1: who don't know, the last couple of years, you've been
- 0:08Speaker 1: like building a following on ig doing comedy shit. Yeah,
- 0:12Speaker 1: but give me some of your background before you decided
- 0:16Speaker 1: to do the Instagram comedy shit, because you've been around
- 0:18Speaker 1: for a minute, like just kind of in the scene
- 0:20Speaker 1: of LA and the music shit. So kind of break
- 0:22Speaker 1: down some of your like how you got kind of
- 0:24Speaker 1: introduced into just the entertainment world, ma'am. I mean, I'm
- 0:28Speaker 1: seventeen years in doug you know it sound was like fifteen, right,
- 0:32Speaker 1: DJ and producing this shit type of shit, you know,
- 0:35Speaker 1: And like in two thousand, I want to say six
- 0:39Speaker 1: or seven, Uh, I started really getting like a little
- 0:42Speaker 1: momentum with the music. And I had a record I
- 0:44Speaker 1: called Industry Beefs. You're rapping Okay? Yeah? I was producing
- 0:47Speaker 1: rapping my own shit at the time. You know, this
- 0:50Speaker 1: is one like having the studio at your crib was
- 0:52Speaker 1: like a big deal, a big deal, you know. And
- 0:56Speaker 1: I had a record called I had a record called
- 0:59Speaker 1: Industry Beefs and that caught the ear of Steve la
- 1:01Speaker 1: Belle and shout maniac. Yeah, so maniac, I mean Bell
- 1:07Speaker 1: and and Sewn and Lewis. And this is around the
- 1:10Speaker 1: same time. Like I remember when Steve had me come
- 1:12Speaker 1: over this house, right, it was me, Sean and Steve's
- 1:15Speaker 1: Bell and we were at his house and he was
- 1:18Speaker 1: Jamie Adler was hanging around somewhere. Yeah, he was somewhere.
- 1:20Speaker 1: I mean, crazy story. Jamie Allen saw me getting arrested.
- 1:24Speaker 1: I got arrested at his fuck at his office right
- 1:26Speaker 1: there in the Hollywood. So we were at his house,
- 1:30Speaker 1: you know, and he's like, yo, man, I really you know,
- 1:32Speaker 1: like like I like your record and you know, thinking
- 1:34Speaker 1: about you know, hopefully you know, getting to manage you.
- 1:36Speaker 1: And he's like, yo, I have this other kid that
- 1:40Speaker 1: I want to show you and just let me know
- 1:42Speaker 1: what you think, you know, And we're go into his
- 1:44Speaker 1: garage and he pops, you know, pops his record and
- 1:46Speaker 1: this is his record called the Bulletin. A bulletin got
- 1:50Speaker 1: no names at the time. You know. It's like Nip
- 1:53Speaker 1: was barely like coming up, you know. And I remember
- 1:56Speaker 1: me and him got signed the same week to like
- 1:57Speaker 1: you know, you know, to get managed by the team,
- 2:00Speaker 1: and that like that was the beginning of more or
- 2:03Speaker 1: less like me kind of getting my feet with like
- 2:05Speaker 1: in the industry, you were managed? How long were you
- 2:08Speaker 1: managed by Lobell? I was looking for like four years.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Oh wow, that's crazy. Yes, like, man, that's crazy. Yeah yeah,
- 2:15Speaker 1: you know. So I got to you know, get records
- 2:16Speaker 1: with a few of his other artists like Bone Thugs
- 2:19Speaker 1: and Sean Yeah. Yeah, yeah, man, you know what I'm saying.
- 2:26Speaker 1: And then, uh, you know, my first record hit the radio.
- 2:28Speaker 1: It is called Certified Cush. You know, shout out to
- 2:30Speaker 1: DJ Felly fell on the whole team, Yeah, like they
- 2:34Speaker 1: that power was that? Who was that? Was that? Just you? Yeah?
- 2:37Speaker 1: Yeah yeah. That was a solo record called Certified Cush.
- 2:39Speaker 1: And then I had a second record come out, and
- 2:41Speaker 1: you know, that one did like pretty well, like I
- 2:43Speaker 1: think we did like sixty five stations across the country
- 2:45Speaker 1: type of joint, you know, and that was that was
- 2:47Speaker 1: called we Can Make It Rain. And it was more
- 2:50Speaker 1: like a you know, poppy industry record, you know. I was,
- 2:53Speaker 1: I was, I was really trying to get in there
- 2:55Speaker 1: on some like bad you were going by Concrete at
- 2:57Speaker 1: the time, Noah, No, I used to go as Bretta
- 2:59Speaker 1: What was it Bret to oh shit, I think I
- 3:01Speaker 1: re yeah, And this is how I know, like most
- 3:03Speaker 1: of these dudes, you know, like Bash, A lot of
- 3:05Speaker 1: people see me doing skits now with Bash or Frankie.
- 3:07Speaker 1: I've known these guys, these artists, and it's like dog,
- 3:09Speaker 1: I used to open up for these dudes when I
- 3:11Speaker 1: was like, you know and like really in the rap game.
- 3:13Speaker 1: And then I went from you know, my you know, unfortunately,
- 3:16Speaker 1: my my brother passed away in two thousand and eight.
- 3:18Speaker 1: He was like my hype man, my day to day
- 3:20Speaker 1: manager and everything kind of deal, you know. And I
- 3:22Speaker 1: passed away in two thousand and eight, and I decided
- 3:24Speaker 1: to just stop rapping during the time of like the
- 3:27Speaker 1: record high starting to pop. Yeah. So you so you
- 3:30Speaker 1: just getting on the radio, I was getting on the radar,
- 3:32Speaker 1: was trying to do shows, I was trying to travel
- 3:34Speaker 1: and you know, do my thing. And your brother passed
- 3:36Speaker 1: and passed away to just walk away from doing music, Yeah,
- 3:40Speaker 1: I was like I'm done with it, you know, because
- 3:41Speaker 1: I just I just started, you know, you started seeing
- 3:44Speaker 1: like you know, people start acting different, you know, and
- 3:47Speaker 1: it was you know, I actually credited like I'm gad
- 3:50Speaker 1: if I if I would have blown up. Then you know,
- 3:53Speaker 1: I probably would have just I probably would have killed
- 3:56Speaker 1: myself or something because I wasn't in the right statement.
- 3:58Speaker 1: I was just I was just being you know, I mean,
- 4:00Speaker 1: imagine being twenty one and then you know, like you
- 4:02Speaker 1: have a record on the radio at a time when
- 4:04Speaker 1: having a record on the radio deal was a big deal,
- 4:06Speaker 1: huge deal. Yeah, back then it was a big deal.
- 4:08Speaker 1: So much now yeah, So it's like everywhere I went,
- 4:11Speaker 1: it was like, you know, it was like people already
- 4:13Speaker 1: knew who I was, and it was you know, people
- 4:14Speaker 1: started acting different. So and you know, things are being
- 4:17Speaker 1: presented to you that your record to radio. Who was
- 4:19Speaker 1: your like Steve, Steve you guys. I mean I had
- 4:23Speaker 1: a few people. I mean, I had a few people
- 4:25Speaker 1: working the record. One dude, I'm not gonna mention his name,
- 4:27Speaker 1: but uh, you know, we had Leilani. I mean I
- 4:30Speaker 1: was like, yeah, yeah, I mean, but we had like,
- 4:33Speaker 1: I mean, like a ton of people were really fucking
- 4:35Speaker 1: with the records. So they were like, yo, man, I'm
- 4:36Speaker 1: just down to help out the situation. Like sixty five stations,
- 4:39Speaker 1: that's that's nic. Yeah, that was cool man. So I
- 4:41Speaker 1: would see the little bds, you know, reports, and I
- 4:44Speaker 1: was like, Okay, cool, this is really happening. And then
- 4:46Speaker 1: you know, you're tired. And then I was like, that's it.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Like from one day to another. I remember I put
- 4:50Speaker 1: out like one last music video with me and my wife,
- 4:53Speaker 1: Nikki Diaz, and you know, we just did like one
- 4:56Speaker 1: record and then I ended up just you know, doing
- 4:59Speaker 1: a video right here, no more in my neighborhood, and
- 5:01Speaker 1: that was it. I was like, come out, what happened
- 5:02Speaker 1: when you told Steve You're going to retire? Oh? They
- 5:05Speaker 1: weren't happy? What are you doing? Yeah? Yeah, nah man,
- 5:10Speaker 1: I mean they weren't happy. I mean, you know because
- 5:13Speaker 1: like when I left them, you know, I ended up
- 5:15Speaker 1: doing like a collaboration with with Gorilla Black and his
- 5:20Speaker 1: brother Hot Dollar, so I was, I was, I was
- 5:24Speaker 1: doing some stuff with them called Dollar Figure. I didn't
- 5:27Speaker 1: know either. I didn't know either up until I started
- 5:29Speaker 1: meeting them really hanging around them, and then yeah, man,
- 5:32Speaker 1: I meant, you know, I got the call from Steve,
- 5:34Speaker 1: I got the call from like big you, and it's
- 5:36Speaker 1: like you know what I'm saying, and it was it
- 5:37Speaker 1: was tough, man. It was tough because I really wanted
- 5:39Speaker 1: to do music, but It's just I just it wasn't
- 5:42Speaker 1: in my heart to try to talk you out of retiring. Nah,
- 5:45Speaker 1: I mean I guess, I mean it was they just
- 5:48Speaker 1: wanted to see who my head was at, you know,
- 5:50Speaker 1: like Sean and Lewis kept in. I mean I talked
- 5:53Speaker 1: to them still to this day, you know, and recently
- 5:55Speaker 1: they told me like, yo, like I want you to
- 5:57Speaker 1: do some music, and I'm like, I don't know, man,
- 5:58Speaker 1: I'm just yeah, I was an ask you, like, so
- 6:01Speaker 1: you retire from music? That's a wait. This is like
- 6:05Speaker 1: two thousand and nine. Two thousand and eight kind of
- 6:07Speaker 1: bleeds into like twenty and ten. But by by twenty
- 6:10Speaker 1: and ten, I'm trying to hold like a bunch of
- 6:11Speaker 1: odd jobs. Yeah. I was gonna say, what do you do?
- 6:15Speaker 1: Like what, like, what's the next decade of your life
- 6:17Speaker 1: look like? Because I feel like you just started to
- 6:19Speaker 1: get into the comedy thing recently, right, Yeah. The next
- 6:22Speaker 1: decade after that, I was literally just I remember I
- 6:24Speaker 1: got fired from my last job. I calmed my way
- 6:27Speaker 1: into an accounting job at this in factory to you
- 6:31Speaker 1: at the corporate office. My mom loves us store. It's
- 6:35Speaker 1: like somehow Conning Metal, Arizona that I used to go
- 6:38Speaker 1: to every fucking week with my mom. She picked me
- 6:40Speaker 1: up from high school and we go to the fires
- 6:41Speaker 1: Padatas place and get shipped. My mom loves a deal,
- 6:48Speaker 1: I trust me. I love that place. So, you know,
- 6:51Speaker 1: I've always working on the corporate side. There was on
- 6:53Speaker 1: the corporate side. Somehow, some way, I go boo then
- 6:56Speaker 1: a little bit a little fictitious thies on the on
- 7:00Speaker 1: the resume, on the resume about about about accounting, you know.
- 7:06Speaker 1: And then I mean I was doing really good, man,
- 7:08Speaker 1: just collecting pennies and just you know, typing shit in
- 7:10Speaker 1: and I was I was doing good. But the dude
- 7:12Speaker 1: was like, man, you're not happy. He literally called me
- 7:14Speaker 1: to his obways like bro. I'm like, man, I'm not happy.
- 7:17Speaker 1: He sees it in my eyes and he's like, bro,
- 7:18Speaker 1: I'm just gonna give your last check and just man,
- 7:21Speaker 1: we'll see you later. Brother. Wow. I was like what
- 7:23Speaker 1: He's like, yeah, man, just go do your music because
- 7:25Speaker 1: he had known that I was, you know, I was
- 7:28Speaker 1: like all right. So I went home and I told
- 7:29Speaker 1: my wife. I was like, well, she's my girlfriend at
- 7:32Speaker 1: the time, my wife now, but I was like, look,
- 7:35Speaker 1: with this money, I'm gonna buy a camera. I'm gonna
- 7:37Speaker 1: buy a camera. There's this YouTube ship right now and
- 7:41Speaker 1: people are just doing a bunch of music videos. At
- 7:43Speaker 1: this time, I already had relationships in the industry more
- 7:46Speaker 1: or less, and I was like, look, I'm gonna call them,
- 7:48Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell I'm gonna do the music videos for free,
- 7:51Speaker 1: and let's go. And that's exactly what I did. Like
- 7:54Speaker 1: the first dude to I Think I did a music
- 7:56Speaker 1: video for was Essay Dazz, and then My Boy and
- 7:58Speaker 1: It Means, and then My Boy. As a dad, I
- 8:01Speaker 1: was like for the third video, I was like, look, man,
- 8:03Speaker 1: don't pay me, just buy me this lens. He's like,
- 8:06Speaker 1: for real, Yeah, look here's here's an Amazon Lenk dog
- 8:08Speaker 1: By that lens. I need that the lens. He's like,
- 8:10Speaker 1: you make a video look better, and that LANs Man.
- 8:12Speaker 1: I did like two hundred music videos on that lands. Dude,
- 8:16Speaker 1: So you were shooting, so you became a video director.
- 8:18Speaker 1: I became a videographer, like in twenty ten. And you're directing,
- 8:21Speaker 1: you're editing as well. Everything everything there was. Yeah, I
- 8:24Speaker 1: remember I I went and bought like a little mac,
- 8:26Speaker 1: little iMac computer, and you know, and then again, this
- 8:29Speaker 1: is a time where like people having a video on
- 8:31Speaker 1: YouTube was was was crazy for sure. For sure, different era,
- 8:35Speaker 1: different area, is such a different like there was none
- 8:37Speaker 1: other comedy shit really going on. It was it was
- 8:39Speaker 1: there was no vloggers. It was just straight either you
- 8:42Speaker 1: had a music video or some corporate shit up there,
- 8:45Speaker 1: you know, or you were a big artist. And you know,
- 8:47Speaker 1: I mean even big artists. This is when at the
- 8:48Speaker 1: time when they were leaving like terrestrial television like BT.
- 8:53Speaker 1: You know, it's like like nobody was really carrying on.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Like Black Diamonds was popping. There was like yeah that
- 8:57Speaker 1: was yeah, you know, oh yeah, yeah, for sure, Black Diamonds,
- 9:00Speaker 1: you know, Power of Tang. I mean, I mean there
- 9:01Speaker 1: was a bunch of dudes that were you became just
- 9:04Speaker 1: a videographer for artists over two hundred videos. Oh yeah,
- 9:08Speaker 1: like in the first two years. Oh wow, so you
- 9:12Speaker 1: were really well I was just cracking them out. What
- 9:14Speaker 1: was the biggest video you did? What? I mean, what's
- 9:16Speaker 1: the biggest what I've done? Yeah, like that you've done that?
- 9:18Speaker 1: Like as far as views or songwise, like what's what's
- 9:21Speaker 1: what's I mean? I wouldn't even I wouldn't even I
- 9:25Speaker 1: can't even tell you because I mean, I don't know.
- 9:27Speaker 1: I mean as far as like the biggest one that
- 9:31Speaker 1: I might have, I don't know. It could be something
- 9:33Speaker 1: with Scan, but I don't know. I mean I got videos.
- 9:38Speaker 1: I got millions of views with like Trisha Leo, like
- 9:40Speaker 1: you know, I started doing just like I got out
- 9:43Speaker 1: of the hip hop situation, like I started doing different genres,
- 9:46Speaker 1: you know. So I got like millions of views on
- 9:48Speaker 1: like a done ship, millions of views on straight like
- 9:51Speaker 1: you know what people will consider Mexican rap. I guess,
- 9:54Speaker 1: you know, but like I guess all in all my views,
- 9:56Speaker 1: I'm probably I'm probably good at a billion. At a billion?
- 10:00Speaker 1: Would you? Uh? Are you still doing any of that now? Yeah?
- 10:04Speaker 1: So you're still doing that? Yeah. I just got back
- 10:06Speaker 1: from Miami last week with Magic. It shot a music
- 10:08Speaker 1: video with him in Miami. Oh man. Yeah, so a
- 10:11Speaker 1: lot of people don't see it because I'm showing. So listen,
- 10:14Speaker 1: you do, all the music video shit keeps you kind
- 10:16Speaker 1: of in the in the in the industry, in the industry, right,
- 10:21Speaker 1: and then at what point in time do you realize
- 10:24Speaker 1: that there's something with the ig comedy shit, Because I
- 10:27Speaker 1: that's more recent so like, yeah, how'd you make that?
- 10:31Speaker 1: You know? I mean, I've always been funny around my boys.
- 10:33Speaker 1: I've always fucked around, and I've always done characters. And
- 10:36Speaker 1: I was acting during during the ten years that I'm
- 10:38Speaker 1: doing music videos, you know, I went to auditions and
- 10:41Speaker 1: booked a few gigs. You're still you were doing? Yeah,
- 10:43Speaker 1: for sure, Like I was on Wheelfred with Elijah wood I.
- 10:45Speaker 1: You know, I did a few movies. Uh. You know.
- 10:49Speaker 1: So I was always acting, but it wasn't consistent enough
- 10:52Speaker 1: for me to be like, Yo, I'm gonna just stay
- 10:53Speaker 1: here and hopefully I make money. He's like, nah, man,
- 10:56Speaker 1: I got a wife, I got you know, I got
- 10:58Speaker 1: I got a kid, Like I just can't, you know,
- 11:00Speaker 1: so we gotta pay bills. Yeah, dude, So I kept
- 11:02Speaker 1: the shooting. I was like, you know, I'm gonna I'm
- 11:03Speaker 1: gonna chill on the acting and doing all these fucking
- 11:05Speaker 1: auditions because it was like, even though you're booking, right,
- 11:08Speaker 1: but you're booking one out of thirty, so you gotta
- 11:10Speaker 1: go on a lot of times. So you gotta go
- 11:12Speaker 1: on sixty auditions take a lot of your bandwidth. It does, bro,
- 11:15Speaker 1: It's just a lot of time and like, you know,
- 11:16Speaker 1: like you're spending yourself out thin with that shit. So
- 11:20Speaker 1: then so that I'm doing all that, and you know,
- 11:23Speaker 1: it wasn't until two thousand and I want to say eighteen.
- 11:26Speaker 1: I was shooting the music video for my boy said
- 11:27Speaker 1: go on and come to Menace, and we were at
- 11:30Speaker 1: the Unfair Fact right thereby, like we're big got killed
- 11:33Speaker 1: at those those lights, yeah, the Miracle Mind lights, And
- 11:37Speaker 1: it's the last shot of the music video. You know,
- 11:39Speaker 1: we got all the gear in the truck. We're like,
- 11:42Speaker 1: we're gonna park the truck right here. We're just gonna
- 11:44Speaker 1: hit this corner and go to the lights and shoot
- 11:45Speaker 1: the scene and get back in the car and dip.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Maybe take about ten minutes, ten to twelve minutes. By
- 11:49Speaker 1: the time we got back, forty thousand dollars worth of
- 11:52Speaker 1: gear was gone. Oh shit, and this is all your gear.
- 11:56Speaker 1: Get gone. Fuck. My boy said, God had to off
- 12:00Speaker 1: his Rolex put in the car and he was like,
- 12:02Speaker 1: I'm gonna leave it in my bag. I don't need
- 12:04Speaker 1: it for this shot. With like his iPad, and he
- 12:07Speaker 1: had like a bunch of records written, you know, just
- 12:09Speaker 1: old thing, you know. So we come back and everything
- 12:12Speaker 1: it's gone, dog caw everything I worked for a kid
- 12:16Speaker 1: for the last ten years in that. I mean that's
- 12:20Speaker 1: a lot of equipment. Yeah, bro, lights, lenses, laptop, everything, everything.
- 12:25Speaker 1: Though I took the whole fucking kitchen that day, all
- 12:29Speaker 1: kinds of stands and ship right, someone sold the actual vehicle. No,
- 12:32Speaker 1: they just they they went and did a dumping, like
- 12:35Speaker 1: a grabbing dump, you know, just put into the car
- 12:36Speaker 1: and boom it was. It was a ring that was
- 12:39Speaker 1: happening at that area. So come to find out happened
- 12:41Speaker 1: to me last year, you know, to follow me out
- 12:43Speaker 1: of the bank, cracked my window. Yeah, I had fifteen
- 12:46Speaker 1: grand cash on me. I ran into a ups store
- 12:49Speaker 1: to get something notarized, and within two minutes of being
- 12:51Speaker 1: in the store, they cracked my back window. I had
- 12:53Speaker 1: the I had the money, I left it in the
- 12:55Speaker 1: car under my seat, of course, and they took my
- 12:57Speaker 1: bra I never wanted to commit murder in my life.
- 13:00Speaker 1: I can only imagine how you felt, Oh, Doug, Yeah,
- 13:02Speaker 1: I wanted to commit murder. But I was calling all
- 13:04Speaker 1: the whole I called everybody I knew. I was like, yo, like,
- 13:09Speaker 1: I don't even want the money back. I want my
- 13:10Speaker 1: fucking laptop back, put the word out. That's exactly what
- 13:13Speaker 1: I did. I called everybody I knew in every hood.
- 13:15Speaker 1: I was like, yo, put the word out, and especially
- 13:17Speaker 1: in that hood, I was like, yo, dog, I know,
- 13:19Speaker 1: you guys know something. Man, you know, I remember I
- 13:21Speaker 1: did it. I did the most vulnerable post on social
- 13:25Speaker 1: media had ever done. I hate mofuckers cry on social media, right,
- 13:29Speaker 1: and I'm there with like, and I even put that
- 13:31Speaker 1: shit in black and white so they can feel it more.
- 13:34Speaker 1: And I'm like, man, if anybody knows anything, So any
- 13:38Speaker 1: idea who did it? Or? Oh? No? Yeah? I mean
- 13:39Speaker 1: they ended up catching the guys and ship. Did you
- 13:41Speaker 1: get your ship back? Nah? Nah, there's like restitution, but dude,
- 13:45Speaker 1: I'm not even gonna see that back, so I don't
- 13:47Speaker 1: expect it. You know, they caught the guys, but you
- 13:49Speaker 1: never got your ship. Nah? No, man, they had sold
- 13:52Speaker 1: that ship by the time that, you know, like they
- 13:54Speaker 1: weren't gonna wait on my ship. They were like, this
- 13:56Speaker 1: is the first ship we're gonna get rid of. You know.
- 13:58Speaker 1: They found a backpack. Right. They called me like at night,
- 14:01Speaker 1: like I'm fucking crying at home. They called me like
- 14:04Speaker 1: at four o'clock in the morning and shit, and they're like,
- 14:06Speaker 1: we found the backpack. When we found the case, I
- 14:09Speaker 1: was like, all right, cool. So I get over there
- 14:11Speaker 1: and the dude was like, yeah, it's a black backpack
- 14:13Speaker 1: and I was like, perfect, it's mine. It has my
- 14:14Speaker 1: laptop and my hard drives. I had just shot some
- 14:17Speaker 1: music videos in Whatatemala or no on Doudas and I
- 14:21Speaker 1: had just shot some music videos and on Doudas and
- 14:24Speaker 1: that footage was in there. So I was like, you know,
- 14:27Speaker 1: that was like twenty thousand dollars, so you had that
- 14:29Speaker 1: that was in there. So I get to the police
- 14:31Speaker 1: shop and it's not my fucking backpack. Dog, It's not
- 14:35Speaker 1: my backpack, right, So I opened a backpack and it
- 14:38Speaker 1: has a bunch of IDs and credit cards. I asked
- 14:41Speaker 1: ports all kinds of shit. I was like, well, you
- 14:43Speaker 1: guys might need this back He's like, oh shit, we
- 14:45Speaker 1: didn't even go through it. I was like, thanks man,
- 14:48Speaker 1: and then they found the case. One thing they did
- 14:50Speaker 1: find was a twenty thousand dollars Panasonic monitor for like,
- 14:53Speaker 1: you know, for playback on set, and I guess like
- 14:56Speaker 1: it must have been too heavy for them, so they
- 14:58Speaker 1: just dropped it. Fuck and other cops like, yo, we
- 15:00Speaker 1: found this, and I was like, ooh, twenty g's here
- 15:03Speaker 1: we go. Took that home? That was it? And yeah,
- 15:06Speaker 1: so yeah, anyway, anyway, so I do this post on
- 15:08Speaker 1: social media, crying, asking, fucking begging for people to just
- 15:12Speaker 1: give me anything, right, And you know, that was the
- 15:16Speaker 1: most broken I had ever or you know, the most
- 15:18Speaker 1: vulnerable and transparent I have been on social media up
- 15:21Speaker 1: until this point. All people know is that I travel.
- 15:23Speaker 1: I shoot, I'm here, I'm there, I'm traveling everywhere type
- 15:26Speaker 1: of shit, you know, but nobody cares about that shit, right,
- 15:29Speaker 1: That post got a out of love. Did you get
- 15:31Speaker 1: your little gofund me popping? Nah? No, no, no, but
- 15:34Speaker 1: my boy, uh you know my boys from twenty seven Junkies,
- 15:37Speaker 1: my cousin uh, Burst Rock and the whole team, and they,
- 15:40Speaker 1: you know, Jacas actually threw like a little fund raiser
- 15:43Speaker 1: for me and I was able to get like a
- 15:44Speaker 1: few grand and you know, get a laptop and shit
- 15:46Speaker 1: like that. You know, so you know, shout out to
- 15:47Speaker 1: that man. So that was the team, right that that
- 15:48Speaker 1: came through for me. Hey what up? Man? We got
- 15:50Speaker 1: to interrupt the interview real quick to tell you about

- 16:58Speaker 1: Nothing like that people, man, and that's the man that's
- 17:01Speaker 1: happened to me twice. It's terrible, Dog, it's crazy because
- 17:04Speaker 1: you brought a baby Bash. We were in Lake Havasu
- 17:08Speaker 1: in two thousand and eleven and Baby Bash was doing
- 17:12Speaker 1: a radio event for spring Break and our room was
- 17:17Speaker 1: next to his room, and uh, somebody fucking the maid
- 17:22Speaker 1: somebody They ran like like cleared out everyone's rooms, took
- 17:26Speaker 1: my fucking laptop of my heart drive. At the time,
- 17:28Speaker 1: I'm like making thirty grand a year doing radio in
- 17:30Speaker 1: Las Vegas, so like my MacBook is like it's everything. Yeah.
- 17:35Speaker 1: So I was sick to my stomach, like there's nothing
- 17:37Speaker 1: like getting getting having someone jackie for some shit that's
- 17:40Speaker 1: like it ain't even about like I had pictures of
- 17:43Speaker 1: my kid on there. You know. It was just so
- 17:45Speaker 1: much motherfucker fucking made me want to kill a motherfucker.
- 17:48Speaker 1: Oh yeah, dog, Yeah, that's how I felt, dude. And
- 17:51Speaker 1: you know, like I'm already doing comedy at this time, dude,
- 17:54Speaker 1: Like you know, I'm I'm behind the scenes writing comedy
- 17:56Speaker 1: for other dudes and writing skits for other dudes and whatnot.
- 18:00Speaker 1: And my boy was like, you know what, dude, like,
- 18:03Speaker 1: you look like shit, man, you gotta do something. He's like,
- 18:05Speaker 1: nobody's gonna do your comedy how you would do it,
- 18:08Speaker 1: con so why don't you just give it a shot
- 18:10Speaker 1: and see if it works sound? And then I did
- 18:12Speaker 1: one video man, and I had like, I don't know,
- 18:15Speaker 1: two thousand followers, and like, overnight I went up to
- 18:17Speaker 1: like twenty five hundred or something. I was like, Okay,
- 18:20Speaker 1: I got five hundred followers overnight with this shit. That's
- 18:22Speaker 1: a big deal, you know. I was like, I just
- 18:25Speaker 1: got a fourth of the followers that I have overnight,
- 18:28Speaker 1: all right. And then I remember, like, you know, cause
- 18:29Speaker 1: before it's like the only people that commented, like you know,
- 18:31Speaker 1: and that I'm doing cool shit, like I'm in I'm
- 18:35Speaker 1: in you know, Jamaica with the Marley's I'm in you know,
- 18:37Speaker 1: fucking Europe, like I'm doing cool shit. But like, you know,
- 18:40Speaker 1: the only people that comment is just like your mom
- 18:42Speaker 1: and your cousin, like, hey, good shit, man, keep pushing, right,
- 18:45Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, Like that's it. You know.
- 18:47Speaker 1: And for this shit, it was like people I didn't
- 18:48Speaker 1: even know. I was like, oh shit, okay, it wasn't
- 18:51Speaker 1: just followers, and there were comedis like yo, man, funny shit.
- 18:54Speaker 1: I was like, all right, cool. And then the next
- 18:55Speaker 1: day I did another skit and then that one went
- 18:58Speaker 1: kind of That one went kind of big me at
- 19:00Speaker 1: a Lakers store where I'm seeing this this this person
- 19:02Speaker 1: get It's kind of a reaction video this person get
- 19:05Speaker 1: kicked out of the store and I'm reacting to it.
- 19:08Speaker 1: And that one, when you know that one again game
- 19:10Speaker 1: like a thousand followers overnight, like oh this ship there's
- 19:13Speaker 1: something to this. All right cool, you know, and then yeah, man,
- 19:17Speaker 1: from there just kind of snowballed into like this fucking
- 19:20Speaker 1: thing that It's like in two years, man, I've been
- 19:22Speaker 1: blessed to get casted for movies now and you know,
- 19:26Speaker 1: doing TV shows. My TV show drops on November on
- 19:29Speaker 1: two B and wow, I got on my TV Yeah man,
- 19:32Speaker 1: we just we just we know. Won in the ward
- 19:34Speaker 1: yesterday for the the Panemicic Easter LA Film Festival for
- 19:38Speaker 1: like I think, like funniest comedy and you know, funniest
- 19:42Speaker 1: comedy TV series. So it's cool what's your involvement with
- 19:45Speaker 1: the with the TV series. I'm the star of it. Yeah,
- 19:49Speaker 1: that's weird to say, man, that's with any of the
- 19:52Speaker 1: writing or any of the idea. Yeah, yeah, no, of course.
- 19:54Speaker 1: But I think for season two, we just you know,
- 19:56Speaker 1: see season one is wrapped. And for season one, yeah,
- 20:00Speaker 1: I mean obviously, I mean I had a lot of
- 20:01Speaker 1: I had a lot of involvement as far as like
- 20:03Speaker 1: improvising and rewriting some of the stuff and kind of
- 20:07Speaker 1: you know and unless you know, secondhand directing a little bit,
- 20:10Speaker 1: you know, But definitely for the second season, I will
- 20:13Speaker 1: have a bigger part in it. It's the second season
- 20:15Speaker 1: already green lit. Oh yeah, oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 20:19Speaker 1: we a man, I feel like there's needs to be
- 20:20Speaker 1: more Latino actors too. I'm tired of seeing Carlos in
- 20:23Speaker 1: every fucking movie. What's his name? You know, the guy
- 20:26Speaker 1: who's in front by guy Noel Noel, But he's like
- 20:28Speaker 1: the guy, he's like the go to guy every movie.
- 20:32Speaker 1: It's like it's like, is there nobody else? Like yeah,
- 20:35Speaker 1: I mean, I just you know, like I guess for me,
- 20:37Speaker 1: like it's always been difficult to book those roles, you know,
- 20:39Speaker 1: I don't really have like a menacing face and ship.
- 20:42Speaker 1: He fits the part. Yeah. So it's like I you know,
- 20:45Speaker 1: like for me to like like even when I booked
- 20:46Speaker 1: the Elijah you know, like on on on Wilfred, you know,
- 20:50Speaker 1: it was like this gangster dude, I love that show,
- 20:52Speaker 1: you know, and and I'm robbing Elijah Wood and that ship,
- 20:55Speaker 1: and and and my cousin, Like, my cousin's watching this show.
- 20:57Speaker 1: He's a gangster. He was like I would have slapped you.
- 21:00Speaker 1: Well you didn't even look scary. And I was like, yeah,
- 21:01Speaker 1: all right, good, you know, yeah, fucking fucking you know,
- 21:04Speaker 1: I catch the check. What's the name of the TV show? Well, Fred, No, No,
- 21:08Speaker 1: the TV show that? Oh, Ghetto Busters. Ghetto Busters. Yeah,
- 21:11Speaker 1: when's the first season debut? I believe November fourth? Oh yeah,
- 21:15Speaker 1: that's big Man Toob's dope. It's like an app Like
- 21:17Speaker 1: it's like free TV. Yeah, yeah, there's free TV. You
- 21:20Speaker 1: just go there and watch it, have a subscription, nothing, nothing,
- 21:22Speaker 1: Just go up there and watch it. Yeah, it's vibe man.
- 21:25Speaker 1: So what is kind of like since you've been doing
- 21:28Speaker 1: the IG comedy thing, Like obviously there's a lot of
- 21:31Speaker 1: quote unquote IG comedians there's a bunch. Yeah, what has
- 21:36Speaker 1: been kind of like your secret into like kind of
- 21:40Speaker 1: standing out. And I don't follow trends. I don't follow
- 21:45Speaker 1: the trendy TikTok of the day. I'm not doing squid
- 21:48Speaker 1: games this week. Mmm. You know, I technically go against
- 21:52Speaker 1: the grain on everything that happens, you know. I mean,
- 21:54Speaker 1: if it's something that's like I remember, like, I mean
- 21:57Speaker 1: one of the biggest kits that did was an R
- 21:59Speaker 1: Kelly skit, right, you know, and that was around the time. Yeah,
- 22:02Speaker 1: that was it was trendy, but it just you know
- 22:05Speaker 1: a lot of people would making like, for example, that's it.
- 22:08Speaker 1: I remember a lot of people were playing Gael King's
- 22:11Speaker 1: part the interviewer, and I was like, fuck that man,
- 22:14Speaker 1: how funny would it be to see the camera man's
- 22:16Speaker 1: point of view? True? Right? So I ended up doing
- 22:19Speaker 1: that and then that shit got me like twenty thousand
- 22:22Speaker 1: followers overnight. Cameras, you know, that's a great So I
- 22:25Speaker 1: played the cameraman point of view because everybody else was
- 22:27Speaker 1: playing the Gael King like the interviewer, like they wanted
- 22:29Speaker 1: to put themselves in the moment, right, I was like, Nah,
- 22:32Speaker 1: that's just that's already a scene as it is, let
- 22:34Speaker 1: that happen, let me add the cameraman point of view,
- 22:38Speaker 1: and then that's just it was. It was out of here,
- 22:40Speaker 1: you know. But yeah, it's just you know, like I
- 22:44Speaker 1: don't you know, social media comedy is really like again,
- 22:48Speaker 1: and I feel like it's comedy is just like music, subjective, right,
- 22:51Speaker 1: people like what they like. Yeah, but I just tend
- 22:54Speaker 1: to go against the green. Like I don't like to
- 22:56Speaker 1: follow the trends, you know, and I like to be
- 22:58Speaker 1: as original as possible, as original as possible, you know
- 23:01Speaker 1: what I'm saying. You know, Like even when I do
- 23:04Speaker 1: my characters, like you know, like when I did it
- 23:07Speaker 1: was so funny. Like recently, somebody was asking me, like, man,
- 23:09Speaker 1: how do you bridge the gap between black and brown
- 23:11Speaker 1: and trying to you know, the comedy, And I was like,
- 23:13Speaker 1: I'm not trying to bridge no gap. I'm just doing me,
- 23:16Speaker 1: you know. Like when I did Andre three thousand, I
- 23:19Speaker 1: wasn't thinking like I'm gonna do Andre three thousand because
- 23:21Speaker 1: it's gonna get me closer to the black community. I
- 23:23Speaker 1: was like, no, I would just be a funny ass
- 23:25Speaker 1: fucking Andre d thousand, the Mexican version, like that shit
- 23:28Speaker 1: would be funny and dude, and I had a bunch
- 23:30Speaker 1: of comments on my TikTok and on Instagram like loving it,
- 23:34Speaker 1: you know, and from the black community, they're like, man,
- 23:36Speaker 1: see here's a comedian. I didn't have to do black face,
- 23:38Speaker 1: none of that to just be for sure. And I
- 23:40Speaker 1: think you know that to me means a lot, you
- 23:41Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, Like, I'm not doing comedy for
- 23:43Speaker 1: anybody specific. I'm just doing what I think is funny
- 23:45Speaker 1: to me. And if you happen to be white, Black,
- 23:47Speaker 1: or Asian or Mexican and you like it cool, Like,
- 23:50Speaker 1: do you find that TikTok's a little bit easier to
- 23:52Speaker 1: get traction on than ig because I feel like TikTok,
- 23:55Speaker 1: I've seen people go from like zero to like like
- 23:58Speaker 1: quick on TikTok. They're doing the right ship. Oh yeah,
- 24:01Speaker 1: Like I's a slower climb. Yeah, I mean, I mean definitely,
- 24:04Speaker 1: I's a slower climb now because of the fact that,
- 24:06Speaker 1: you know, just the algorithms are different and you know whatever,
- 24:10Speaker 1: I don't really pay attention to that. I came into Look,
- 24:13Speaker 1: I started my my Instagram or really like really started
- 24:16Speaker 1: pelling on the Instagram two years ago and at the
- 24:19Speaker 1: time dudes that were already big in the social media
- 24:21Speaker 1: where we're like, you're getting followers in a time where
- 24:23Speaker 1: it's hard to get followers. Not for sure, I just tricky.
- 24:27Speaker 1: I feel like TikTok, Like, as long as you just
- 24:29Speaker 1: stay consistent on TikTok. Yeah, yeah, you know what I'm saying,
- 24:32Speaker 1: You'll be all right. But I mean, but you gotta
- 24:33Speaker 1: stay consistent in all your I mean, I say, consistent
- 24:35Speaker 1: on my Facebook. TikTok. How's how's your Facebook? Because face,
- 24:38Speaker 1: people don't realize Facebook, do I got millions of views
- 24:41Speaker 1: on Facebook. People don't even realize. Yeah, Facebook is popping,
- 24:45Speaker 1: just like be forgetting that Facebook is still the thing.
- 24:47Speaker 1: But I'm like, yo, Facebook, especially for like Facebook, like
- 24:50Speaker 1: like comedy ship, Like, yeah, Facebook is cracking. Dog. I
- 24:53Speaker 1: probably have the most million views videos on there. Yeah
- 24:56Speaker 1: Facebook is a movie. You know. That's you know, I mean,
- 25:00Speaker 1: that's the most I've done. But yeah, man, you and
- 25:02Speaker 1: Jay Valentino did a like a little tour together. Shout
- 25:07Speaker 1: out to him too. He's yeah, shouts too. He's been
- 25:09Speaker 1: killing it for a while. I remember when I first
- 25:11Speaker 1: met him, I was like, bro, we gotta put you
- 25:13Speaker 1: on the radio, and then I don't know what ended
- 25:15Speaker 1: up happening. I know he did like a weekend with us,
- 25:17Speaker 1: like real, but the station's tripping. He needs to be
- 25:22Speaker 1: on the radio. Yeah, that being said, how'd that go? Oh?
- 25:26Speaker 1: That was dope, guys. I'm just kind of pulling up
- 25:28Speaker 1: to like I'm not gonna lie to look random as fuck. Dog,
- 25:31Speaker 1: it looks it was super random, dog, I mean, you know,
- 25:34Speaker 1: like I was. You know, it's like you you think
- 25:37Speaker 1: you popping right, And so I decided to put this too.
- 25:40Speaker 1: I was like, a, J, let's go on this little
- 25:42Speaker 1: like pull up tour. We'll just do a bunch of
- 25:43Speaker 1: meet and greets. It should be fine, right, So we
- 25:46Speaker 1: do the flyer and we get a really good response
- 25:48Speaker 1: and shit right, and like a week before, two weeks
- 25:51Speaker 1: before we're leaving, I told you, I was like, hey, J,
- 25:54Speaker 1: check this out. Dog. I have a feeling that what
- 25:57Speaker 1: if it doesn't go as planned and nobody shows up.
- 26:02Speaker 1: I was like, it'd be great if we just shot
- 26:03Speaker 1: this ship right. It'd be absolutely epic if we just
- 26:07Speaker 1: shoot the tour and show what it is to be
- 26:11Speaker 1: a comedian or to be somebody trying to make it
- 26:13Speaker 1: right and that's exactly what happened. We had good good turnouts,
- 26:18Speaker 1: we had really bad turnouts. What was the worst place?
- 26:22Speaker 1: The worst place fuck Albuquerque. I think Albuquerque thought we
- 26:28Speaker 1: were hurting. Phoenix Two Songs was lit. Uh, you know,
- 26:32Speaker 1: Opasso was good, Dallas was cool, Houston was like Houston
- 26:38Speaker 1: ended us booking, like I ended up booking someplace. Actually know.
- 26:43Speaker 1: I hate to say it, but it was an Odessa. Odessa.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Odessa was bad. It sounds like interesting, I'll give you
- 26:49Speaker 1: a tipic because I didn't even. I didn't even. So
- 26:52Speaker 1: this dude calls me. He's like, yo, man, we want
- 26:53Speaker 1: to bring you guys out to Odessa. And then I
- 26:54Speaker 1: was like all right, cool. They're like, well, where's that.
- 26:56Speaker 1: They're like, oh, it's a cell phone spot. You guys
- 26:58Speaker 1: would be good. I was like, a cell phone spot,
- 27:01Speaker 1: we can we set up somewhere. They're like yeah, dog.
- 27:04Speaker 1: So we get there and we just I mean, you know,
- 27:06Speaker 1: it's a tighty little town. Yeah, tighty little town. So
- 27:09Speaker 1: you're kind of driving by and all we see is
- 27:12Speaker 1: the fucking cemetery. We're like, what the fuck? I was like, dog,
- 27:15Speaker 1: and I called the dude was like, hey, this is
- 27:16Speaker 1: a cemetery. He's like, yeah, we're right at the corner.
- 27:20Speaker 1: So it was this little bit. It was like, this
- 27:22Speaker 1: is the whole cemetery and his story was right at
- 27:24Speaker 1: the corner by a cemetery. On the cemetery. Bro Like,
- 27:28Speaker 1: there's flowers and graves all around his shop. I asked
- 27:31Speaker 1: him what the fuck was going on? He was like, Yo,
- 27:34Speaker 1: they went and bought all the houses in the land
- 27:36Speaker 1: here the city to put a cemetery. I'm the only
- 27:38Speaker 1: one that didn't sell. What the fuck we're sitting there.
- 27:43Speaker 1: So we're sitting there, bro, Like you want us to
- 27:46Speaker 1: do it? Me and Green at a cemetery. Bro, Like,
- 27:50Speaker 1: you guys documented this. Everything is documented, man, It's being
- 27:54Speaker 1: it's being added though. We guys it's dude. The ship
- 27:56Speaker 1: is really good. San Antonio was was, oh, man, are
- 28:01Speaker 1: there any other creators that that you fuck with that
- 28:04Speaker 1: are kind of like in the Latin comedy lane, like
- 28:07Speaker 1: because there's a lot of there's a lot of people
- 28:08Speaker 1: doing their thing, you know. I think like Mikey Luciano
- 28:11Speaker 1: knows best from Phoenix is Yeah, I know who he is. Uh,
- 28:15Speaker 1: we just we just tapped in with I think they're
- 28:18Speaker 1: called the Mexican waves. M. Yeah, I worked with them before. Yeah,
- 28:22Speaker 1: there's like I just feel like there's like a it's
- 28:24Speaker 1: really popping right now, you know what I'm saying, Like
- 28:26Speaker 1: outside of J Like, who are some of the other
- 28:29Speaker 1: people who you want to collaborate with or you or
- 28:31Speaker 1: who you have worked with? I mean, I think everybody
- 28:34Speaker 1: that I've wanted to collaborate I think I did, you know,
- 28:37Speaker 1: and if I don't know them, it's because we just
- 28:39Speaker 1: haven't came across I haven't came across your page or
- 28:42Speaker 1: whatever the case. But I mean, you know, like man
- 28:46Speaker 1: like for the last two years and even until now,
- 28:48Speaker 1: for me, it's it's it's really been about like showing
- 28:51Speaker 1: proof for myself. Yeah, you know, I kind of felt
- 28:55Speaker 1: that I needed I need to do my comedy right now.
- 28:58Speaker 1: I need to do what I think is best for
- 29:00Speaker 1: me and not necessarily collaborate with someone because they got
- 29:04Speaker 1: cloud because they're popping. It's like I want to earn
- 29:08Speaker 1: my seat at the table, you know. And that's why
- 29:10Speaker 1: I started doing stand up, because there's a certain stigma
- 29:13Speaker 1: about oh, if you ig comedians stand up, you can't
- 29:17Speaker 1: do stand up, or you like you don't deserve a seat.
- 29:19Speaker 1: You know what I'm like at this table. Stand up
- 29:21Speaker 1: comedians look down on people who do ig comedy. Yeah,
- 29:23Speaker 1: I mean I've had stand up comedians tell me like
- 29:26Speaker 1: you ain't it? Yeah, you know that in a bad way. Yeah.
- 29:29Speaker 1: And then so I said, fuck it, all right, cool,
- 29:31Speaker 1: I need to earn my seat. I'm gonna earn my seat.
- 29:33Speaker 1: And this is even when I already had George Lopez
- 29:36Speaker 1: hit me up and be like, yo, I see you
- 29:38Speaker 1: keep doing your thing, like your next type of ship.
- 29:40Speaker 1: And then I've had other comedians hit me up like
- 29:42Speaker 1: you know, uh, you know, Felippus Spars has been really supportive.
- 29:45Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. Uh, you know, Fit Creeper
- 29:47Speaker 1: has been really support them. You know, these are all
- 29:50Speaker 1: guys that do stand up you know. Jerry Garcia you know,
- 29:53Speaker 1: which you know, gave me an opportunity to do the
- 29:55Speaker 1: you know, to HOSTSOS tour with them, so it was
- 30:00Speaker 1: his MAGA routine. Yeah, sou as a comedian. All these
- 30:04Speaker 1: guys have been like that, have been in the industry
- 30:07Speaker 1: for you know that between all of them, they got
- 30:08Speaker 1: one hundred plus years of experience as stand up to
- 30:11Speaker 1: tell me like yo, pursue this shit. This is this
- 30:13Speaker 1: is this is where you need to be. Then it
- 30:15Speaker 1: was kind of like all right, because I was fighting standards.
- 30:17Speaker 1: Say how's the stand up thing, because that's a hard
- 30:19Speaker 1: thing to get into. Man, it's not the same obviously,
- 30:21Speaker 1: I mean it's yeah, I mean it's not the same, right,
- 30:26Speaker 1: you know. Luckily for me, I come from a rapper's lane,
- 30:29Speaker 1: so you're not scared to be on stage. So I'm
- 30:30Speaker 1: scared to be on stage and command attention and do
- 30:32Speaker 1: crowd work and do all that shit, right, So I've
- 30:34Speaker 1: been there before. Now was just implementing tours and shit. Yes,
- 30:38Speaker 1: kind of like for sure, yeah, yeah, yeah, you know.
- 30:41Speaker 1: I mean it's you know, from doing I mean, you know,
- 30:43Speaker 1: like people tell me like, like you should be able
- 30:45Speaker 1: to handle this, you know, three hundred play you know,
- 30:47Speaker 1: three hundred person crowd at the laugh Factory, And I
- 30:50Speaker 1: try to tell them, like, it's different having seventeen thousand
- 30:52Speaker 1: people that half of them are not even paying attention
- 30:54Speaker 1: to you, yeah, because it's just so much shit going
- 30:56Speaker 1: on a drunk people to three hundred people right in
- 30:58Speaker 1: front of you, and the life harder. And they're all like,
- 31:01Speaker 1: you know, but yeah, and then I come on entertain us,
- 31:04Speaker 1: make me laugh, you know, like it's time. Let's go
- 31:06Speaker 1: out paid twenty five and let's get it. But nah
- 31:09Speaker 1: do it. It's been really good, you know according to
- 31:12Speaker 1: my peters and the people that have been are like, yo,
- 31:14Speaker 1: like you're killing this. So so it's been cool. Man.
- 31:16Speaker 1: How do you feel like, you know, cause from your perspective,
- 31:20Speaker 1: you have a unique perspective coming as a rapper shooting videos.
- 31:24Speaker 1: I mean you've seen a lot of erarors of like
- 31:27Speaker 1: Latin hip hop and where it's came from, where it's going.
- 31:30Speaker 1: I do feel like, uh, you know, when I was
- 31:34Speaker 1: coming up in radio, there was like the low Rider
- 31:37Speaker 1: car scene, and there was obviously you know, MC magic,
- 31:41Speaker 1: there was Caponi, there was Little Rob all these guys.
- 31:44Speaker 1: But I feel like a lot of that music was
- 31:46Speaker 1: kind of if you weren't in that world, it was
- 31:51Speaker 1: it was very it was like you had to know.
- 31:57Speaker 1: I guess it was hard to cross over, right because
- 32:00Speaker 1: it was. There was the Chicano rap era, which was crazy.
- 32:03Speaker 1: That shit was lit, high power records, all that shit
- 32:05Speaker 1: was going crazy. But I feel like now there's like
- 32:08Speaker 1: a lot of Mexican artists who are coming up where
- 32:11Speaker 1: it's just like like that's the thing. Their music is dope,
- 32:14Speaker 1: and they happened to be Mexican, if that makes sense. Yeah, yeah,
- 32:18Speaker 1: I mean as opposed to like back in the day,
- 32:19Speaker 1: I feel like you, yeah, like you were complimentalizing to
- 32:22Speaker 1: a certain genre of music, right, Like that was a
- 32:25Speaker 1: ship that I was fighting for ten years ago, you
- 32:29Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. Fifteen years ago though, you know,
- 32:32Speaker 1: like you know shit that me and Bash were fighting for,
- 32:34Speaker 1: like where it was like yeah, because I feel like
- 32:35Speaker 1: Bash did a good job, you know, being like, dude,
- 32:37Speaker 1: I'm just making bangers. Yeah, and he and he was
- 32:39Speaker 1: you know, I mean, I mean he was making radio shit.
- 32:41Speaker 1: He was making kiss FM type music what they call it.
- 32:43Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. Whatever, Like shit, that's like
- 32:45Speaker 1: just super pop and no matter if who it is,
- 32:48Speaker 1: it's all yeah, no matter the race it is, yeah,
- 32:50Speaker 1: it's on. But that was a ship that you know,
- 32:53Speaker 1: I was fighting for twelve years ago where it was
- 32:55Speaker 1: like when people used to like, are you ual kind
- 32:57Speaker 1: of rapper? I'm like, no, I'm not just rappers. And
- 33:01Speaker 1: I was doing that type of music. I wasn't necessarily
- 33:03Speaker 1: banging on my music. It was just I was just
- 33:05Speaker 1: doing good street music or you know shit that was
- 33:08Speaker 1: potentially going to be on the radio, you know what
- 33:10Speaker 1: I'm saying. So I wasn't never aiming for anything like that.
- 33:13Speaker 1: And then you know that goes the same with my comedy.
- 33:15Speaker 1: You know, I'm not doing comedy for just Chicano's either.
- 33:19Speaker 1: I do cater to it, you know what I'm saying,
- 33:21Speaker 1: But I don't just specifically do it for them, you know,
- 33:23Speaker 1: I do it for whatever I think is funny. And
- 33:25Speaker 1: that was the same thing with music. I wasn't doing
- 33:27Speaker 1: this type of music or that type of music. I
- 33:29Speaker 1: think what's happening now with you know, with all the
- 33:32Speaker 1: artists that are starting to pop that are essentially Latino descent,
- 33:35Speaker 1: which like the Little Pumps, and you know what I'm saying,
- 33:37Speaker 1: Like all these dudes like that's dope, man, Like that's
- 33:40Speaker 1: the ship that we wanted to do twelve years ago.
- 33:43Speaker 1: And you and because of the culture changing and because
- 33:46Speaker 1: of social media, it's more acceptable to just be another
- 33:50Speaker 1: race and be able to get on like that. You
- 33:52Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. It's I don't think Little Pumps
- 33:55Speaker 1: the first one or you know, I mean the Takashis
- 33:58Speaker 1: of the world or I mean, I mean there's splaining
- 34:00Speaker 1: the latink the bad bunnies are taking over, you know
- 34:02Speaker 1: what I'm saying, Like I mean, it's it's it's that
- 34:04Speaker 1: kind of vibe. I think the industry in the world
- 34:07Speaker 1: is starting to see that the Latino market is the
- 34:10Speaker 1: consumer and they buy records, facts and they follow it.
- 34:14Speaker 1: The fast is growing, you know what I'm saying, because
- 34:16Speaker 1: we're you know, like we're the ones that essentially buy
- 34:18Speaker 1: the ticket when you're up, and we are the and
- 34:21Speaker 1: we are the people that buy tickets when you're down.
- 34:22Speaker 1: When you're down, we go see you at the car show,
- 34:25Speaker 1: we go see you at these places. We are the
- 34:26Speaker 1: ones that support a lot of these rappers that were
- 34:29Speaker 1: hot twenty years ago. You know what I'm saying. I
- 34:33Speaker 1: host a lot of the shows. You know what I'm saying,
- 34:35Speaker 1: We the Latino consumer is the one that buys. And
- 34:38Speaker 1: I think, you know, once they really grabs the situation,
- 34:42Speaker 1: you know, you know, we're gonna see an influx of
- 34:44Speaker 1: a lot of rappers even here from it. Later it's
- 34:46Speaker 1: gonna start to pop, and not just one. I mean,
- 34:48Speaker 1: you know what, obviously we got the King Little G's,
- 34:50Speaker 1: we got the Drummer Boys, you know. Yeah, I mean
- 34:53Speaker 1: there's a lot of dope artists. You know what I'm saying,
- 34:55Speaker 1: rucchie Uchie's Mexican. Yeah, yeah, you know, I mean, I mean,
- 34:59Speaker 1: so there's a lot of dope artists that are waiting
- 35:01Speaker 1: just to bubble, you know what I'm saying, to get
- 35:03Speaker 1: that one record that's gonna take him to the next level.
- 35:05Speaker 1: I think all of them are just one record away,
- 35:07Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, one record away, you know
- 35:08Speaker 1: what I mean. Obviously such an air like like like
- 35:11Speaker 1: pay so swat, Like there's so many dope young Mexican
- 35:15Speaker 1: rappers that are like bubbling baby young and there's just
- 35:18Speaker 1: tons of them. Yeah. Yeah, there's so many of them.
- 35:20Speaker 1: I'm such a crazy movement going on right now, and
- 35:23Speaker 1: they're starting to see that. You know, we we really
- 35:26Speaker 1: support the ship. We buy this ship, and you know,
- 35:30Speaker 1: I mean, hopefully it gets bigger than what it is now.
- 35:32Speaker 1: Besides the TV show, What's like next for you? Man?
- 35:34Speaker 1: I got a movie coming out. It's called The Chat
- 35:37Speaker 1: That and Oat Milk starring uh Jerry Garcia, Duno, Yeah, hilarious, Yeah,
- 35:42Speaker 1: Duno and me and uh and man, we got some Yeah,
- 35:47Speaker 1: that's the dopeest movie. I can't wait for that to
- 35:48Speaker 1: come out. Man, that's gonna be dope. And it's called
- 35:50Speaker 1: The Chat That and Oat Milk. And then I'm working
- 35:53Speaker 1: on the TV show and now called uh The King
- 35:55Speaker 1: of Downey Uh and then that's again with me Jerry
- 35:59Speaker 1: Garcia and I forgot the other gentle Man, but that's
- 36:03Speaker 1: what Chicago, uh, Chicano Hollywood and then they call it
- 36:06Speaker 1: right yeah, Chico Hollywood Love And what else am I
- 36:12Speaker 1: working on? And then I'm working on a movie. It's
- 36:14Speaker 1: my first uh, my first like serious role is and
- 36:18Speaker 1: this is a movie called Sam's Cry. I play Dad
- 36:20Speaker 1: that just he's kind of like a rolling stone but
- 36:23Speaker 1: drug addict and kind of wife beat the type of dude.
- 36:27Speaker 1: So yeah, that was crazy to play. And then I
- 36:29Speaker 1: finished shooting that in November. Are you're going to make
- 36:32Speaker 1: a return of the rap game? I had a really
- 36:35Speaker 1: good conversation with MC magic not too long ago, and
- 36:38Speaker 1: what the Magic say? He says, I got momentum? He says,
- 36:42Speaker 1: why not for real? You know? Yeah? But it's like,
- 36:46Speaker 1: can do a comedy album? Yeah, but it's like, what
- 36:48Speaker 1: do you rap about that? You know what I'm saying,
- 36:51Speaker 1: do a comedy album. Yeah, I mean I get it, man,
- 36:55Speaker 1: I just you know, like if anything, I'm gonna just
- 36:57Speaker 1: wrap to the ladies, I said, you know, I don't know.
- 36:58Speaker 1: I don't know if people want to hear me, like
- 37:00Speaker 1: do comedy wrap you know, because man, you know, Food's
- 37:02Speaker 1: going Wild is doing really good at that. Like I
- 37:04Speaker 1: ain't trying to you know, I ain't trying to step
- 37:05Speaker 1: on these toes. Man, Yeah, shout out. What's the guys
- 37:08Speaker 1: in that? Foo's gonna wile the guy with the mister
- 37:12Speaker 1: e man. You know, like man, he's he's killing it, bro.
- 37:15Speaker 1: You know, like ship like that, like that kind of content,
- 37:17Speaker 1: like that's amazing context. You know, they kill it. There's
- 37:19Speaker 1: I mean, there's so many fucking dope pages out there, dude.
- 37:22Speaker 1: It's just you know community, Food's gone Wild. There's a
- 37:25Speaker 1: lot of the food yo. Man. Yeah, I'm just trying
- 37:27Speaker 1: to keep up with them, dog because really selling out
- 37:30Speaker 1: the Novo that's crazy, right, Like a comedy page comedy ship, Yeah,
- 37:36Speaker 1: that's dope. And then you know, but he wanted implemented
- 37:38Speaker 1: the music and that was I mean that ship is smart, bro,
- 37:40Speaker 1: That ship, you know, I can't you know, you can't
- 37:43Speaker 1: knock that, bro, You can't knock that. Like the dude
- 37:45Speaker 1: made something out of nothing and and and and and
- 37:47Speaker 1: and that's dope, you know, like something out of a
- 37:50Speaker 1: page that's essentially free. Bro, for sure, what's your I G?
- 37:53Speaker 1: Everybody know where they can follow at Concrete Live. You
- 37:55Speaker 1: can follow me at Concrete that's on all platforms at
- 37:58Speaker 1: Concrete Live. Yeah, I'll up man go follow him. Yeah,
- 38:01Speaker 1: appreciate you pulling up. Thank yes, sir. Appreciated brother, hell
- 38:04Speaker 1: sir
