- 0:02Speaker 1: Good morning, Abby.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Good morning.
- 0:07Speaker 1: We're playing Noise Machine. Nick's the host. Nick, let's play.
- 0:10Speaker 3: Yeah, let's play, you guys. We started a big Disney
- 0:13Speaker 3: promotion this week. I just got back from Disneyland. I'm
- 0:15Speaker 3: in a Disney mood, so we're playing Disney characters. If
- 0:17Speaker 3: you can guess who the Disney character is, you are
- 0:21Speaker 3: going to get a point.
- 0:22Speaker 2: All right? Easy enough?
- 0:23Speaker 1: Yeah, let's go.
- 0:24Speaker 2: All right, let's start with John Jay.
- 0:25Speaker 1: You could not live with your own failure. Where did
- 0:30Speaker 1: that bring you? Back to me. I think that's Thanos.
- 0:34Speaker 2: We were looking for, of course. Thanos is correct. Good job,
- 0:38Speaker 2: John Jay. One point already on the board.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Richard. That is Donald Duck.
- 0:49Speaker 3: Donald Duck, as he appeared on Hot Ones. Good job.
- 0:52Speaker 3: One point for John Jay. One point for Rich.
- 0:54Speaker 4: Peyton.
- 0:55Speaker 1: No wonder the Avengers didn't take you. Or the X-Men.
- 0:58Speaker 1: They'll take f * * * ing anyone.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Hmm, that's Deadpool. Deadpool? It is from Deadpool and? Wolverine,
- 1:03Speaker 2: that's Wolverine. Wolverine, we were looking for Wolverine. Okay, nice try, Peyton.
- 1:07Speaker 3: Good job at least getting the same universe. Kyle!
- 1:12Speaker 1: I hope that you appreciate what I go through for you.
- 1:16Speaker 4: Young lady. Oh, that's Sebastian.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Yeah, we were looking for Sebastian. Way to go. All right,
- 1:23Speaker 2: so after, let's hear Abby's turn. Let's go. To infinity
- 1:29Speaker 2: and beyond!
- 1:33Speaker 3: That's Buzz Lightyear. That's exactly what we were looking for. Okay,
- 1:37Speaker 3: so thus far, everybody on the board but Peyton. However,
- 1:40Speaker 3: she can redeem herself in round two. We'll kick things
- 1:43Speaker 3: off with John Jay.
- 1:53Speaker 1: That could be one of two things.
- 1:55Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:55Speaker 1: It could be me asleep with my CPAP or Darth Vader.
- 2:00Speaker 3: We were looking for it. Weirdly, it was John Jay
- 2:02Speaker 3: wearing CPAP. That is Darth Vader.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Sorry. Good job. John Jay walking away with his game.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Two points already.
- 2:10Speaker 4: Rich.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Hey, buddy. You can steal cars. It's bad. Ah, that
- 2:15Speaker 2: is Tom Holland is Spider-Man. Spider-Man is exactly what we're
- 2:19Speaker 2: looking for. Way to go, Rich. Peyton.
- 2:23Speaker 1: We are all connected in the creative circle of life.
- 2:27Speaker 2: That's Mufasa.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 2:29Speaker 2: James Earl Jones. Yeah, good job. Two James Earl Jones
- 2:33Speaker 2: in this round. Kyle, what do you think about that one?
- 2:35Speaker 2: I don't know what to think about that. What do
- 2:36Speaker 2: you think about it, huh? Okay, well, it's your turn.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Ka-chow!
- 2:41Speaker 2: Lightning McQueen.
- 2:44Speaker 3: Lightning McQueen is exactly what we're looking for. Good job.
- 2:47Speaker 3: And we'll round out round two with Abby. If she
- 2:50Speaker 3: can get this, she's going to win this. Some Chance
- 2:52Speaker 3: the Rapper tickets. Let's go.
- 2:54Speaker 1: That is Mickey Mouse. Mickey Mouse.
- 3:02Speaker 4: All right.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Good job.
- 3:03Speaker 2: She did it. Way to go. Chance the Rapper is coming.
- 3:08Speaker 1: You're going to go see Chance the Rapper. Congratulations, Abby.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Thanks for listening. Thank you guys so much.
- 3:13Speaker 4: Have a good rest of your day.
- 3:14Speaker 1: You too. Okay. So football starts tomorrow, right? So there's
- 3:20Speaker 1: all this fantasy stuff. And I was very surprised, you guys.
- 3:23Speaker 1: I think you will too when I tell you. How
- 3:27Speaker 1: popular do you think fantasy football is? Pretty popular.
- 3:30Speaker 4: Right?
- 3:30Speaker 1: You think so? You would think so?
- 3:32Speaker 2: I think so.
- 3:33Speaker 1: I feel like so many people in my world are
- 3:35Speaker 1: in fantasy football leagues. And then iHeartMedia sends out an
- 3:39Speaker 1: email yesterday. And I click on the email. It says,
- 3:42Speaker 1: here are these emerging trends. 9%. of American adults play
- 3:48Speaker 1: fantasy football. That's it?
- 3:49Speaker 3: Nine.
- 3:50Speaker 1: That's it? I thought if you told me 60%, I'd
- 3:52Speaker 1: be like, oh, that makes sense. Nine percent.
- 3:56Speaker 4: That's not, that doesn't seem a lot.
- 3:58Speaker 1: It seems very, very low because I feel like it's everywhere.
- 4:01Speaker 2: Well, what about in this room? In this room, who's
- 4:03Speaker 2: playing fantasy football this year?
- 4:05Speaker 1: Me.
- 4:05Speaker 3: Me.
- 4:06Speaker 2: I am in four leagues. Are you the commissioner for
- 4:10Speaker 2: any of the leagues? No, no, ma'am.
- 4:12Speaker 4: Somehow I didn't ask to do it, but somehow I'm
- 4:15Speaker 4: the commissioner of two leagues.
- 4:19Speaker 1: So yeah.
- 4:20Speaker 4: And we had our drafts over the weekend and I
- 4:21Speaker 4: was literally like, why? I didn't volunteer for this. Like what,
- 4:25Speaker 4: how did I get into this? And now I'm doing
- 4:27Speaker 4: two of them and it's like so stressful, but I'm like,
- 4:30Speaker 4: and then of course my algorithm starts showing me all
- 4:32Speaker 4: of the really fun and cool, like Pinterest-y things you
- 4:35Speaker 4: can do for draft parties.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Which I'll have to do next year.
- 4:37Speaker 4: But at first when I signed up to do it,
- 4:40Speaker 4: I was like, yeah, it's fine.
- 4:41Speaker 2: It's whatever.
- 4:42Speaker 4: And then we start doing the draft and it's like,
- 4:45Speaker 4: I'm realizing how competitive I am. And I'm realizing like,
- 4:48Speaker 4: oh my gosh, I'm kind of really into this annoyingly.
- 4:53Speaker 4: So one of the leagues is for my son and
- 4:56Speaker 4: his friends. He wanted to do a separate kids one.
- 4:58Speaker 4: And I was like, cool, I'll help you get it
- 5:00Speaker 4: set up. And then the other one is like with
- 5:02Speaker 4: our friends and their families. And we actually happened to
- 5:06Speaker 4: be with one of the families that are in the
- 5:07Speaker 4: league during the draft. And their kid kept coming over
- 5:11Speaker 4: and looking at our laptop and seeing like the players
- 5:13Speaker 4: we had queued up to possibly draft next. And he
- 5:16Speaker 4: would like go back and tell his dad, they've got
- 5:18Speaker 4: the Broncos.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Defense in queue.
- 5:19Speaker 2: And then they picked it.
- 5:22Speaker 4: And then he would walk over again and I was
- 5:24Speaker 4: like listen I love.
- 5:25Speaker 2: You but get out of here.
- 5:27Speaker 3: Honestly though I would do that same exact thing that
- 5:30Speaker 3: kid that's how you that's how you try to win
- 5:32Speaker 3: I was like not this time but yeah yeah I.
- 5:36Speaker 4: Didn't want to be competitive about it but it just.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Took over what do you win if you win nothing
- 5:43Speaker 1: none of our.
- 5:43Speaker 4: Leagues have anything but it's just like you just want.
- 5:46Speaker 1: To win do you have a loser bet payoff no Oh,
- 5:49Speaker 1: my son Jake, he lost last year. And you know
- 5:52Speaker 1: what the bet payoff was? He had all his friends
- 5:55Speaker 1: that are in the group, let's say there's 10. He
- 5:58Speaker 1: had to take his shirt off and they shot him
- 6:00Speaker 1: with paintball pellets. Like how far away did they have
- 6:02Speaker 1: to stand? Very close.
- 6:04Speaker 2: That's dangerous.
- 6:05Speaker 1: He was covered in welts. And then so he joined
- 6:09Speaker 1: the league again this year. And I said to my
- 6:11Speaker 1: son Kemp, who now lives at home because he graduated college,
- 6:14Speaker 1: I was like, I need you to oversee his fantasy
- 6:17Speaker 1: so that he doesn't get pelted with whatever the bed
- 6:20Speaker 1: payoff is.
- 6:22Speaker 4: Okay, so he was just in last place?
- 6:24Speaker 1: Yeah, he lost. Because everyone loses except for who wins, right?
- 6:27Speaker 1: I don't know how it works.
- 6:28Speaker 2: I'm not one of the 9%. It's like, wait a minute,
- 6:30Speaker 2: did he just have the least amount of points?
- 6:31Speaker 1: I know for years we've taken calls from people who
- 6:33Speaker 1: had horrible bed payoffs. So whenever you lose, so his
- 6:36Speaker 1: team lost. It was like terrible. Or he lost. His
- 6:39Speaker 1: team was terrible. So anyway, so fantasy football players. are
- 6:44Speaker 1: nearly twice as likely to be 18 to 24-year-olds. They're
- 6:47Speaker 1: also more affluent, with fantasy football players being 15% more
- 6:51Speaker 1: likely than the general population to earn over $ 200, 000 annually. Dang.
- 6:56Speaker 1: That's nice. Also, of those that are in a fantasy
- 7:01Speaker 1: football league, those who do play are in three or
- 7:05Speaker 1: more leagues. So you're in two. Well, Nick just said
- 7:08Speaker 1: he's in four. That's wild.
- 7:10Speaker 2: That's crazy.
- 7:11Speaker 1: It's a lot to keep track of. It is.
