- 0:00Speaker 1: For all your men bastards loving the Big Show podcasts
- 0:05Speaker 1: get up even closer on.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok for dogging four to seven every
- 0:12Speaker 2: weekday on Radioca.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Yeah, beautiful day. Hey guys, really nice? Yeah yeah yeah.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Any McDonald's today, keysy oh no, no game or two
- 0:25Speaker 2: have so oh of course it's over. Yeah yeah, but
- 0:28Speaker 2: that's a part about the job. As you get free
- 0:30Speaker 2: McDonald's in the green room and I always go, sorry, guys,
- 0:33Speaker 2: gonna get to the big show. So I walked through
- 0:35Speaker 2: the little bag and just put the stuff I wanted it. Yeah,
- 0:37Speaker 2: walk out, And so it was you know, combo little
- 0:40Speaker 2: sweet and sour, you know, Donalds Man. Yeah, docuse, I
- 0:46Speaker 2: don't eat it, but I like it. Yeah, it's incredible.
- 0:51Speaker 2: For some reason, all like my parents right hate it, right,
- 0:55Speaker 2: I think it's garbage and that generation, but like I
- 0:58Speaker 2: think it's terrible to taste as well up right, So
- 1:00Speaker 2: that generation, for some reason, they all think that it's
- 1:03Speaker 2: really bad.
- 1:03Speaker 1: And I'm like, what age do I have to get
- 1:05Speaker 1: to where I won't at McDonald's. I don't know if
- 1:07Speaker 1: that's true that everybody that age.
- 1:09Speaker 2: But yeah, maybe not. But like all of my parents
- 1:13Speaker 2: and their friends and stuff. They would never have it, right, Yeah,
- 1:15Speaker 2: because it seems like a rare case. They would rather
- 1:18Speaker 2: go get fishing chips or something. Ah yeah, yeah, maybe
- 1:21Speaker 2: it's just yeah, maybe it's just my family. I'm like,
- 1:22Speaker 2: when is that gonna happen to because I wouldn't mind
- 1:24Speaker 2: it happening a.
- 1:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:25Speaker 1: It's a convenience more than anything, isn't it on You've
- 1:27Speaker 1: got to hang over you. That's that's the only time
- 1:30Speaker 1: I I'm never going neither.
- 1:34Speaker 3: Or if I'm on tour, Like if we're on tut
- 1:37Speaker 3: if we're going on a trip or something, and I'm like, oh,
- 1:39Speaker 3: a little hash brown, a little treat for.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Cake if you want, what's it on Thursday? If you
- 1:51Speaker 1: Thursday McDonald's at the airport. See I'm fizzy. Yeah, well
- 1:53Speaker 1: we'll be in the cood. Yeah. Actually, has J still
- 1:57Speaker 1: got me?
- 1:58Speaker 3: Sure?
- 1:59Speaker 1: Does Jay? Never you had it? I have membership. You
- 2:03Speaker 1: have allowed time for that in the plan. Yeah, I
- 2:09Speaker 1: got it.
- 2:11Speaker 3: Well.
- 2:11Speaker 2: The good thing about is if you set everything up
- 2:13Speaker 2: to funnel through your ear Points card, I just paid.
- 2:16Speaker 2: I was just pays for itself every year, right, I
- 2:18Speaker 2: Mean we could use it for flights, but that's generally
- 2:20Speaker 2: what I run mine on?
- 2:22Speaker 1: What my flight flight? Yeah exactly. Yeah. What have you
- 2:28Speaker 1: been doing, Mike? I have my sports stay today? Okay
- 2:32Speaker 1: that was last week. Yeah, that one last week was
- 2:34Speaker 1: a lie, but today was the actual one. Yeah.
- 2:39Speaker 3: Good.
- 2:40Speaker 1: I mean it's participation fun, isn't it for you? I mean, oh,
- 2:44Speaker 1: I mean it's funny. Yeah right. I was there with
- 2:47Speaker 1: another radio d J who works for who works for
- 2:54Speaker 1: another station, A strong competitor, some would say that even
- 2:59Speaker 1: dominate us. Actually that it was Males. Yeah, he's got
- 3:04Speaker 1: a kid. He's got a kid in the same class
- 3:06Speaker 1: as my kid. Ah. So Cooper okay, yeah, So we
- 3:11Speaker 1: were there and he was yeah he was, so is
- 3:14Speaker 1: this the last event? How many events? Well, it's there.
- 3:18Speaker 1: I mean, you're not watching the greatest athletes in the world.
- 3:23Speaker 1: That's sure. There was an Egan Spoon race. That's so great.
- 3:28Speaker 1: It's all, it's all fun, it's all, it's all great.
- 3:30Speaker 1: But they also the other thing that they do is
- 3:34Speaker 1: they so there's like ten stations, let's stay say, ten
- 3:37Speaker 1: different sports going on. Eyone's at there and that's just
- 3:39Speaker 1: for flitz that's five minutes I don't know, And so
- 3:42Speaker 1: they just go round and around. They just do it.
- 3:44Speaker 1: But that's the whole school and that's and so there's
- 3:48Speaker 1: no finals, there's no winners, right and therefore not a
- 3:54Speaker 1: lot of point. Right, Well, it's not at that school,
- 3:57Speaker 1: and that's so that's up to ten. I'm assuming, yeah,
- 4:01Speaker 1: because I remember they're definitely being rankings and stuff. They
- 4:03Speaker 1: must be a new year. There were there were rankings,
- 4:05Speaker 1: but they never got down to a final one a minute.
- 4:07Speaker 1: So you had six hates and you know, one of
- 4:10Speaker 1: the kids would win, but then on the other staff,
- 4:12Speaker 1: like hurdles, you would just do it and then keep
- 4:14Speaker 1: on going into the bell ring and you move on
- 4:16Speaker 1: to the next thing. So I'm loving the fact that
- 4:17Speaker 1: my kid will be exhausted tonight and won't stay up
- 4:19Speaker 1: until nine o'clock like she did last night. So that's good.
- 4:22Speaker 1: What it's all just, it's all just doing it for franky.
- 4:25Speaker 1: But the older kids, you would think that they would
- 4:27Speaker 1: want to be having a winner and a loser because
- 4:30Speaker 1: they go hard. And it seems because it's a natural instinct.
- 4:33Speaker 1: Doesn't you want to go hard or you don't, And
- 4:35Speaker 1: that's fine as well, it's not your thing. And exactly
- 4:38Speaker 1: I want pass the classroom and that's where all those
- 4:40Speaker 1: kids were. They're having a ball, not being involved in
- 4:43Speaker 1: I forgot about you guys. Please, ma'am can you write
- 4:46Speaker 1: me in the what a sport today? Well that in
- 4:49Speaker 1: swimming sports is the same. Yeah, totally well aind of
- 4:51Speaker 1: physical like cross country, cross country being the third and
- 4:54Speaker 1: I fucking hated that. I loved everything else, but fuck that.
- 4:58Speaker 1: But yeah, I would think you want to reward and
- 5:00Speaker 1: natural instinct or sort of be wrapping something around it
- 5:03Speaker 1: that that encourages it. The whole Cky Big Show Days
- 5:07Speaker 1: from four on Radio Hierarchy Big Show Podcast.
- 5:15Speaker 2: What which of the sports that you witnessed? Did Mogi Jr?
- 5:19Speaker 2: Show the most promising?
- 5:21Speaker 1: The sprints? Wow? So during the sprints not fast, but
- 5:24Speaker 1: running back to a spot really fast. When it's a
- 5:28Speaker 1: competition and there's other kids around you, you're the concentrations
- 5:31Speaker 1: all over the show. So they're looking over there, they're
- 5:33Speaker 1: looking in the crowd for mum and dad. It was
- 5:36Speaker 1: it was fucking out. But then some kids are just
- 5:38Speaker 1: bullets and they also had I was walking in and
- 5:41Speaker 1: another parent said to me, I don't know about your
- 5:44Speaker 1: how your footwear is going to go today? I said,
- 5:46Speaker 1: was what he said, the parent race somewhere in tight
- 5:50Speaker 1: black jeans and jendles perfect. I said, yeah, I won't
- 5:54Speaker 1: be no, no, no, I won't do it. Well, this
- 5:58Speaker 1: is what I'm going to do because I didn't even
- 5:59Speaker 1: know what was happening. How do I have known? Pugs.
- 6:02Speaker 1: I'm still I hadn't even see what we should do
- 6:05Speaker 1: it next year, but I'm thinking I'm going to train
- 6:07Speaker 1: all year. I'm going to train for the next twelve months.
- 6:10Speaker 1: I'm just going to do sprints, going to sprint training
- 6:12Speaker 1: and next year old wear spikes.
- 6:14Speaker 2: That's cool on their track. See that's cool. That's well
- 6:17Speaker 2: the final beerfoot is the way to go.
- 6:21Speaker 1: In school.
- 6:21Speaker 2: For some reason, bearfoot was always faster than wearing shoes. Really,
- 6:27Speaker 2: like if when I used to do the sprints because
- 6:28Speaker 2: I was a sprinter, well you know that was my favorite. Yeah,
- 6:31Speaker 2: it was the shortest, just fellas James Kirklan, I was
- 6:34Speaker 2: the fastest guy in my school.
- 6:35Speaker 3: Thinking it was such a title back in the day,
- 6:38Speaker 3: whoever was the fastest and you're still stoked about it
- 6:40Speaker 3: in primary school?
- 6:41Speaker 1: What are you talking about? I know this is in
- 6:43Speaker 1: high school. Still this guy that I was a seventeen
- 6:47Speaker 1: year old you're the fastest kid at school? Did you
- 6:49Speaker 1: go around telling people that that you were the first? Everybody?
- 6:53Speaker 2: Everybody knew whatever. I didn't know because that all sit
- 6:55Speaker 2: on the grandstand for the final sprint. My name was
- 7:00Speaker 2: cres back then a bird ship Chris. But I always
- 7:06Speaker 2: remember that like shot. I remember in primary school this
- 7:09Speaker 2: guy James Kirklin. He was real fast. I was like, fun,
- 7:11Speaker 2: I'm racing James, but to take my shoes off. The
- 7:13Speaker 2: guy I remember is Tama Perini watching at me.
- 7:16Speaker 1: Was so fast. He sounds fast.
- 7:17Speaker 3: He was.
- 7:18Speaker 1: It was fast as at your school. I don't remember. Bullshit,
- 7:21Speaker 1: No I don't. Yeah, bullshit, I was too you're in
- 7:23Speaker 1: the classroom, Yeah, you're walking for play. Though in the
- 7:28Speaker 1: class I was.
- 7:29Speaker 3: Getting yelled at for walking the four hundred meters sprint
- 7:32Speaker 3: or I was that? The only sport I ever got
- 7:35Speaker 3: notes taken on, you know how, like the teacher will
- 7:36Speaker 3: take notes on who maybe could be competitive. The only
- 7:39Speaker 3: sport I ever got that done for was shop. Yeah, boy,
- 7:41Speaker 3: it was never going to be fucking fronts. Did you
- 7:43Speaker 3: birth the ship out?
- 7:45Speaker 1: I berffed it? Man ship? Did you put that shot?
- 7:48Speaker 1: Put the ship out of the shot? Shot? The put
- 7:51Speaker 1: out of that ship.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Yeah, so that was good anyway, fun day. I can't
- 7:55Speaker 2: wait for ship like that. Like that sort of stuff
- 7:57Speaker 2: makes me want to become a parent because I just
- 7:58Speaker 2: reckon be so adorable. Yeah, and my kid been a
- 8:01Speaker 2: fucking win because I was the fastest at my school.
- 8:03Speaker 1: And if they are to you, that's right. And it's
- 8:06Speaker 1: hard for them to me up to a girl. Kids,
- 8:09Speaker 1: that's right. He's going to tell the other kids my
- 8:11Speaker 1: dad was the fastest that has school.
- 8:12Speaker 2: Was yours a special school? Keezy, can you not make
- 8:16Speaker 2: a nose? Fat noises? And the microphones because I heard
- 8:19Speaker 2: the lanes were extra lanes. Extra they had, they had,
- 8:24Speaker 2: they had, and they had like the sides on them
- 8:28Speaker 2: like at bowling alleys, so that I wouldn't Yeah, I
- 8:35Speaker 2: was faster, one hundred and twenty three secrets fast.
- 8:40Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 8:41Speaker 2: Fast as like you said, Bolt is nine something. Oh
- 8:44Speaker 2: my god, so I I remember. So year thirteen won
- 8:49Speaker 2: the sprint right at my school. And then you go
- 8:51Speaker 2: to Bay you go to Eastern Bay or Western Bay
- 8:53Speaker 2: or Bay Wide. Because I wasn't bad, plany got there
- 8:55Speaker 2: and I was like, fuck you. I got a day
- 8:56Speaker 2: off school and I just get to run one hundred
- 8:58Speaker 2: meters a bit.
- 8:58Speaker 1: I smoked. These guys came last year out of like
- 9:01Speaker 1: sixteen I had that. I went to, I went to
- 9:04Speaker 1: I won. I won the long jump at Saint Pet's
- 9:07Speaker 1: Silver Stream, right and then really yeah, and then went
- 9:11Speaker 1: to Wellington the Regional mcckefferny Shield, my son grad shield,
- 9:16Speaker 1: Kevity Shield, which is all the colleges at wherever the
- 9:20Speaker 1: fuck it was somewhere in new Town, and bro just
- 9:23Speaker 1: got fucking.
- 9:24Speaker 2: Smashed, Yeah, by some kids that are actually trying to
- 9:27Speaker 2: maybe pursue it.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Well, just yeah, because in year thirteen naturally, I mean
- 9:32Speaker 1: I was not year thirteen. I was thirteen. Oh you
- 9:34Speaker 1: were thirteen, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. So it was that
- 9:37Speaker 1: guy's six foot two. My wife I thought he was
- 9:40Speaker 1: a teacher. He's on the Broyds.
- 9:44Speaker 2: My wife when she was like twelve, through a javelin
- 9:48Speaker 2: at athletics day and won the woman the girls javelin
- 9:52Speaker 2: at his school, which meant that her and her mom
- 9:54Speaker 2: had to go to a two day long comp over
- 9:56Speaker 2: the weekend, which was an hour's drive away, and her
- 9:59Speaker 2: mum was fuck it, and she's still talks about She's like,
- 10:02Speaker 2: I can't believe you did that. And then we got
- 10:03Speaker 2: there and Lucy could not only could you not recreate
- 10:06Speaker 2: the throw like she was throwing a good twenty meters
- 10:08Speaker 2: shorter than everyone else, but they had just stayed there
- 10:10Speaker 2: for the whole week.
- 10:12Speaker 1: That fucking sucks. But she's like, hey man' thirteenth best
- 10:14Speaker 1: at javelin for nine year olds or something. It's good
- 10:19Speaker 1: supporting from mom. Yeah, I know, God bless her. Yeah.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Good day. And summer's here, isn't it. I want to
- 10:25Speaker 1: cure rain for the next three days. But god, it's
- 10:28Speaker 1: nice out there, anybody know. I'm not sure. I never
- 10:34Speaker 1: have coffee in the sun.
- 10:35Speaker 3: Oh it's really nice. It's one of Kezy's rules, coffee
- 10:38Speaker 3: in the sun. I would I just had it out
- 10:42Speaker 3: in the sun. That's where I had mine.
- 10:43Speaker 2: Mate, your coffee, Keesy gets so I already had lovely,
- 10:46Speaker 2: already had Hey. Thanks listening to the Radiohocky Big Show
