- 1:15a total of six. The original airdate of this program is September seventh,
- 1:22nineteen forty seven, and the title is the Case of the Bearded Queen.
- 1:30Nick. Isn't there any way out of here? I've gone over every
- 1:34inch of it. Patsy, There's not a chance I'd like being buried alive.
- 1:38I almost wish he had shot us. It would be better than than
- 1:42dying like this. I'm going to make him wish he'd shot us too.
- 1:48In fact, I'm going to make him come back to do it right now
- 1:57and all the case of a bearded Queen. Today's Adventure with Nick Carter brought
- 2:01to you by a new post war old Dutch wentor Today's Scubby Wilson reporter on
- 2:08the Globe Gazette finally got delivery on his new car, and he's preparing to
- 2:13give Nick's secretary, Patchy Vaughn has one and only girlfriend the first ride.
- 2:17Why don't we turn this corner and you get a look at it? Tasty,
- 2:21the thickest glost little convertible that ever came out of Detroit. No more
- 2:23right in the elevated ay, Scubby, no man. When Scubby Wilson drives
- 2:29by, strong men will turn green with envy, and fair ladies will swoop.
- 2:32If you like, you're gonna let me drive, well, I might
- 2:37let my wife drive if I ever get one. So if you care qua
- 2:39but the young teens time, Scubby knows that, Oh, I mean it's
- 2:44passy. Where's a car like that? Think of what a honeymoon we could
- 2:46have Canada? Maybe here the rock, Thanks Scubby, But I think I'll
- 2:51stay single, and the pedestrian. That's only because you haven't seen the car
- 2:54yet. Oh and now before we turn the corner, maybe you'd better shade
- 2:58your eyes. It may prove of its dead the lecture in the corner.
- 3:00And see, oh came a good woman. But don't say I didn't warn
- 3:04you. Now behold the pride of the motor car industry, the glory of
- 3:08well holly cats. My new car's gone. Somebody stolen us, all right,
- 3:23sergeant. And if the car should turn out this afternoon when you call
- 3:27me here at my office, thanks a lot, goodbye. What do you
- 3:30say, Nick, Nothing yet, Scubby. They put it on the police
- 3:34radio, but it wasn't very encouraging. There's been an epidemic of car thefts
- 3:38lately, and none of the stolen cars has been recovered. Oh geez,
- 3:42Scubby, that's tough. Oh fine, fine. Fifteen hundred dollars and I
- 3:46only drove a twenty blocks brother, that's the most expensive taxi, right I
- 3:50ever had had the police any ideas, Nick, Yes, yes they do,
- 3:53Patsy. I think it's the work of a gang of boys about sixteen
- 3:57or seventeen. My kids that age wouldn't be able to sell the cars that
- 4:00they did steal them, would they? Oh well not unless they were booked
- 4:03up with some crooked used car dealer who had a place where the cars could
- 4:06be repainted and the serial numbers changed. Exactly. If kids are stealing cars
- 4:13on a large scale, they're working for some adult. And there's nothing more
- 4:16rotten than a crook who makes criminals out of youngsters. Some kids seem to
- 4:20be born that way. Oh no, they're not scuttling, They're not scubby.
- 4:24It's a matter of environment and training. Remember, these boys grew up
- 4:27with no place to play except the streets under the elevated Give them a third
- 4:30chance and they're all right. That's true. Scufby Nick proved it with the
- 4:33Downtown Boys Club right by. Some of those fellows down there had pretty bad
- 4:38records and we got them. But now i'd trust them anyway. Oh I
- 4:41know. But at the same time, I'll let me get it. Hello,
- 4:48yeah, speaking huh oh, hey, that's great. They found it,
- 4:56not even scratched, eh you sure? Oh swell? Oh who took
- 5:02it? You know? Oh? Yes, yes, I know him.
- 5:10I'll thanks, sergeantal Be write down, just tell him by somebody who knows
- 5:15Gubby somebody we all know, pet Danny Walker. Danny Walker, I hate
- 5:20belonged to the Downtown Boys Club. Are you sure? Sergeant Brady says they've
- 5:26arrested him and he admitted taking it. I can't believe it. Come on,
- 5:30we're going to look into this thing right now. I'll lay off.
- 5:43Well you, Nick, I told you if i'd known the car belong to
- 5:46a friend of yours, I wouldn't it took. It's you. I'm interested
- 5:48in, Danny, not the car. I don't like to see you here
- 5:50in jail. The first member of the club was going to travel in more
- 5:54than a year. I'm gonna find out why and help you if I can.
- 5:57I don't belong to your club no more. A month ago when my
- 6:00folks moved over to the West Side. Oh that's so, I knew you
- 6:04hadn't been around, right they. But I didn't know you'd quit. Oh
- 6:06I damn. Clubs is kids stuff. I'm eighteen years old, Danny.
- 6:11Listen, we've been pretty good friends. Oh look, Nick, you're a
- 6:14good joe. Say, even if you are a private eye. But let
- 6:17me alone, will you? No, Danny, I won't. And you
- 6:20came out of reform school you gave me your word to go straight, and
- 6:24until now you have what's changed you, Danny? What's happened to you?
- 6:27Well, I I lost that job you got me, and I had to
- 6:31get some money quick, see it. It's kind of a death of honor.
- 6:39Like so I sweped the car to get the dough and I got caught.
- 6:43And that's that. You stole that car for somebody else, didn't you?
- 6:46No, I didn't. I stole it from me, Danny. Look,
- 6:48I came here to go your bail because we're friends and because I thought
- 6:51you honestly wanted to go straight and you can help me protect other boys.
- 6:56I'm getting into trouble the same way you did. If you'll only tell me,
- 6:59now turned stoop and huh, Well, I won't do it, no,
- 7:02sir, I tried going straight and it didn't work. I'll take this
- 7:05wrap. I'll make up for it when I get out. I'll make up
- 7:10for it plenty. So elevated train take so much noise as the wonder or
- 7:25anyone get any sleep around here? Good news for anything, Cassy. Oh,
- 7:29there's Scubby in front of that delicate passion and there's a space where we
- 7:32can park. I hope he's unable to find out something. Oh beautiful,
- 7:36Hello Scubby Byron Nick. Do you have any luck, Scubby? No,
- 7:41not much. There's a gang in this neighborhood, all right, but the
- 7:44kids wouldn't talk to me. They have any regular place to meet. There's
- 7:46no settlement house, no boys club, but some of them hang out at
- 7:49the West Pine Street garride A garage. I don't get excited. I know
- 7:54it sounds like a perfect lead, but I met the boss, and if
- 7:58he's a crook, I'm Jesse James Well, I'd like to talk to him
- 8:00anywhere. What's he like? Nice? Ol fellow? I am a favorite.
- 8:03Everybody calls him. I did a lot you Nick, what I said?
- 8:11I think you and Pop's favorites will have a lot of comment. I'll
- 8:18never mind. You'll see for yourself. Come on, I just don't know
- 8:30why the thing was to calla Why Danny used to mind the gasoline pumps from
- 8:33when I'd go out to eat. Maybe there'd be thirty or forty dollars in
- 8:35the cash reshes and he never touched his sentiment. I swear to that.
- 8:39I see, Oh, Pops, No, not a thing, Joe,
- 8:43Hey, I want you to meet my friend, miss Boone. Mister Wilson.
- 8:46Hello, I'm miss ter cottam Dacotta. How do you do? This
- 8:50is Joe Fernie. He keeps his taxi here and I take his calls for
- 8:54him. Nick kinda the private eye. Huh, heard about you? And
- 8:58I'll up front. Pops in the office, right, Joe, Come on,
- 9:03miss Kata, you folks too. I want to show you something I
- 9:07didn't tell Nick about this. Mister Bainbridge, I thought you'd like to do
- 9:09it yourself. All right in here, we'll ride down the elevator. Will
- 9:16you push the button at the car, the one mark B. We'll go
- 9:18in the basement. Oh, certainly, what this on the barn? You'll
- 9:22see in a minute, Nick. Oh cigarette, mister Bambridge. The names
- 9:26Pops. No thanks, I don't smoke, Gotty. Don't you see the
- 9:30no smoking sign on the wall? Oh? Sorry, got These garage elevators
- 9:35are big things on the well. We parked cars on the upper floor and
- 9:37use this elevator to take them up. Oh there now, Oh, I
- 9:46find the lights. It's we are hi. It's a clubroom. Oh look,
- 9:50Nick, a handball court and there's a dark game on the radio checker
- 9:56game that chaids here. You've done all right here, Bob, well much.
- 10:00But I've seen a lot of boys get into trouble hanging around the street.
- 10:03So hey, here's a deck of cars. Like to try a hand
- 10:05at Jim rummy? Nick? Oh no thanks. Look, Nick, somebody's
- 10:11been doing a little art work on these cards. You see the bed on
- 10:13this Queen of park. Whoever drew that has talent even changed the expression on
- 10:18her face. Hey, that's pretty good. I hope I was helping the
- 10:20boys by fixing up this place. But now I don't know. Why do
- 10:24you say that? Props? Oh look what happened to Danny, one of
- 10:26the finest youngsters I ever knew. Now, maybe hanging around the garage he
- 10:31had got him on in the car of his own. I'm afraid it's not
- 10:33that simple, Pops. Well, thanks for your time. You've been very
- 10:35helpful. I'm just sorry I couldn't do more. You've helped me a great
- 10:39deal, a great deal more than you know. What's the gag, Nick,
- 10:54You didn't come to the jail just to play cards with me? Oh
- 10:58yes, I did, Denny? Do your hands? Okay, you know
- 11:01how to play Pogernondo. Sure, but I ain't got no money. I'm
- 11:05playing for higher stakes than money. Wait, huh, never mind picking up
- 11:11your cards. I have you beaten? How do you know? We ain't
- 11:16looked at the hands yet. I have three aces and you're holding a pair
- 11:18of sixes. You're a mind reader or something. Run them over and see?
- 11:24Well? Hey, what is this? You're stacking the cards on me?
- 11:30No? I was reading the becks of the cards. Then mark deck?
- 11:35So what see this card? Yeah? Five of clubs, isn't it?
- 11:39Yeah? Hey, show me those marks, will you? In a
- 11:41minute. This is a ton of diamonds right right, and the seven of
- 11:46spades, the Queen of hearts. Wait a minute. That Queen of Hearts
- 11:52got a beard? Has it? Pete Kobek put that beard on there.
- 11:56I've seen him do it. Oh so you played with deck before? You
- 12:01bet? I played with them before. Where'd you get them cards? Don't
- 12:03you know who gave me? You? Come on? Quit holding out on
- 12:05me. You're holding out on me, aren't you? Danny? Yeah?
- 12:11I guess I have been. I guess I've been a sucker. Ain't I
- 12:16taking the wrap for somebody? Who? What? Denny? Listen? Nick?
- 12:20Did you mean that about going my bail if I helped you crack this
- 12:24case? Danny, the minute you tell me who's behind these car Festu're on
- 12:26your way out of here. Oh no, get me out first, then
- 12:28i'll talk all right. May take me a couple of hours to make the
- 12:31arrangements, and I have to see a client at eight. But if I
- 12:33can't be here, I'll send Scubby to bring it to my office. That's
- 12:37okay, And don't worry about your case, mister Carter. I'll crack it
- 12:39for you, good boy, brother, I'll crack it wide open. That's
- 12:54Nick's house over there, Danny, okay, he bet a talk on this
- 12:56Side's gotta be nicked cars in front of the house. Sure, be here
- 13:00a few minutes. Anyway, got to meet a guy for an interview pretty
- 13:03soon. Oh come on, Nix's waiting for it. Gee, I feel
- 13:05like some mayor or something with two of you bringing me here. Well,
- 13:09Nick didn't want to take any chance on me running out. No and anything
- 13:13happening to you. Where are your bodyguards? But good guiding make for him?
- 13:18What nobody even knows Nick? From me? Maybe not, but I
- 13:20still think that Green Todan was following us that green today must have been your
- 13:26imagination, Patsy. Either that or we lost him in the last block or
- 13:28two, I hope. So we're here, Nick. Oh, hello,
- 13:33everything all right? Yeah? Hi Nick, everything's fine. You bring the
- 13:35reports on the other car thefts passion. Oh, Nick, I'm sorry I
- 13:39left him in the car. Oh, I'll get him for you. Miss
- 13:41Bowen won't take it, an, let's come to it. He ran into
- 13:50him on purpose. Come on, it was that green Todan I saw following
- 13:52us before coming head off any traffic? Sure? Nick, good Nnynny,
- 14:00put my coat onto your head. Denny, can you hear me? It's
- 14:03Nick? Nick, it was him, Nick, I know, don't try
- 14:11to talk. Got to got to tell you about both cars, all right,
- 14:20Son? What about him? Hi? What I what do you mean?
- 14:24Danny? Look for the hi in the ow ow h Denny? Oh,
- 14:37the poor kiddies fainted. No, skebby, he's dead. Oo the
- 14:50eye in the l Can Danny's dying words be the clue that will lead Nick
- 14:56to the head of the car thieves and Danny's killer. We'll see what happens
- 15:00in just a moment. All back to the case of the bearded Queen.
- 15:07Today's Inventor with Nick Carter, brought to you by a new post war old
- 15:11Dutch Glinter. Back at the office, Nick, Patsy and Scubby are puzzling
- 15:16over the connection between the automobile thefts and Danny Walker's dying words look for the
- 15:22eye in the L, Nick. The only way I can figure it must
- 15:26be some detective on duty around the elevated train. Naturally, Scubby, look
- 15:30Brady. I'll ask him confidentially if any l detective has shown sudden prosperities since
- 15:35these cars have started. Sureney Toney, we could have got the license number
- 15:37back green Sedan. Yes, at least we have the fragments of blasphem that
- 15:41shattered headlight that may help us to identify, and the police are checking every
- 15:45garage in town for a green Sadan with a broken headlight, linb, I
- 15:48felt sure that car was following us, but I didn't see it when we
- 15:52got here. Probably parked the car up the street with his lights off and
- 15:54his mortar running, just in case, And when Danny started to cross the
- 15:56street alone, the murderer saw his chance and took it right. Well.
- 16:00The next thing is to find out if any older men said in those card
- 16:03games to Danny, do you think the leader of this gang played cards with
- 16:07the boy? Not only played cards with him, he cheated. Oh,
- 16:10Danny realized it when he saw the bearded queen of hearts and that marked Dick,
- 16:12so called debt of honor. He stole Scubby's card to repay with a
- 16:17gambling deck. Well, then maybe the same trick was played on some of
- 16:18the other boys that might have card for the rest of the stolen cards.
- 16:22The way I figure it, after a boy had stolen one card, wouldn't
- 16:26be hard to fighten him. It is stealing more by threatening to expose him.
- 16:29Well, that's the lowest trick I ever heard of, And I agree
- 16:30with you, Scubby. Yes, Well, when we find out who won
- 16:34with that mark Dick, I think we'll have the leader of the gang and
- 16:38Danny's murderer. That's Fainbridge, you order know, right, Ptsy, And
- 16:41that's where we're going, Scubby. As soon as you've talked to sageant Brady
- 16:45about the detectives, stown me at the West Pine Street garage. Well,
- 16:56there are a couple older fellows. Is sometimes used to play down them,
- 17:00Miss Kata, but I Oh go, what's your man? No gas tonight?
- 17:06Oh? I didn't hear you drive up in here two or three minutes.
- 17:10So busy talking to your friends, you didn't see me. We we're
- 17:12talking about Danny Walker. Yeah, nice kid? Who bad? He hadn't
- 17:18next you then, wasn't it? How about putting some gas in my can?
- 17:22Sure? Go? Sure right away? Answer that, William, Miss
- 17:25Kata, Oh, yes, yes, it may be for me anyway,
- 17:26I'm expecting to call. Oh, maybe it's for me too, Nick,
- 17:30I better come with you if I didn't want to be left alone with Joe.
- 17:33Did you see the look on his face and how scared Pops was?
- 17:37Yes? Imously, you better stay right. I'm trying to go. Yeah,
- 17:41yeah, hello West Pines Prey Garage. Oh yes, covey. Why
- 17:48did you find out? Honestly, as far as Sergeant Brady knows, there's
- 17:52nothing against any of them to take us around the elevator. Of course,
- 17:56there's spend no time for any investigations. But Sergeant Brady thinks we're on the
- 17:59wrong tra He may be right. The eye in the air is the only
- 18:02thing we have to go on, and I'm going to follow it through.
- 18:04Okay, always say, well, he ass Pops if you found my cigarette
- 18:07lighter? I had him. We were going down to the basement there.
- 18:11Remember when Patsy pointed out that no smoking sign? And I am happy.
- 18:15That may be it, That may be what? Never mind you went headquarters?
- 18:21Yes what, I'll call you back in fifteen minutes. Give you the
- 18:22whole story for your paper. Did he find out anything? Nick? Wasn't
- 18:29anything to find out where Pops and Joe they went out to the gas pump?
- 18:33Good? I want to take enough to look at that elevator, were
- 18:34going down to the clubroom. Not this time. Must have been fine not
- 18:37to have seen it before. What an elevator made of steel plates riveted together,
- 18:42push button controls and a no smoking sign painted on the wall. What's
- 18:47unusual about that? Here's the elevator step in. I'll show you see,
- 18:52Patsy. One of those rivets is right in the middle of the eye,
- 18:56and no smoking I in the l the letter I and the no smoking sign
- 19:03in the elevator. Of course, Danny died before he finished the word.
- 19:07But how does this The elevator is run by push button controls, Patsy,
- 19:11a button for each floor. Oh no, but there were another floor,
- 19:15a secret floor, the control button for it would have to be concealed too,
- 19:19and that rivet in the letter, I may be if pushing me.
- 19:22Let's find out if I think we're going down to the boys clubroom, think
- 19:27you'll find we're going past the clubroom, PERSI, but we can't go past
- 19:30the basement. No ever hear of a sub basement. Huh, of course,
- 19:36Yes, we're passing the clubroom. There is a secret floor. Maybe
- 19:40we're going to discover a lot of secrets. Well, this seems to be
- 19:47it. Whatever it is, Gosh, it's stock here. There should be
- 19:52a light switch near the elevator. Yes, here it is. I think
- 19:56it's another garage plate pen shop and mechanical equipment for working over stolen cars at
- 20:04the other end of the room. Agreeing to Dan with a broken head light
- 20:07on the fender. All dead. That's the car, all right, the
- 20:11one that killed down up used two sciensio. I thought you were came down
- 20:15when he was telephoned. I've been standing right the hand. It's still a
- 20:18waiting for your baby. You and the boy. I look, Joe,
- 20:22Kanna take your run out of your pocket and dump on the floor. Canna
- 20:26don't turn around whatever you say, but you're not playing. That's very smart.
- 20:30You foot take that pocket just in case you might be packing some heat
- 20:37Risot, Have you done something to him? Me? I don't do nothing,
- 20:41And nobody it's an accident, because they do have an awful lot of
- 20:45accidents, have and run accidents Joe sometimes. But I'll be able to do
- 20:49better than that for you two. Something real, neat and natistic. No,
- 20:53wait, you don't realize the police. No, we came here,
- 20:56so you come here. Then you're left. See, nobody will find this
- 21:00seller, and nobody will ever find you. Tell long, Stuckers, I'll
- 21:06see you again tomorrow the next day, and when I do, you're gonna
- 21:10have one of the neatest little accidents that ever happens. Along Stuckers, I'll
- 21:15see you again tomorrow the next day, and when I do, you're gonna
- 21:18have one of the neatest little accidents that ever happens. Nay, isn't there
- 21:27any way out of here? No? Just this one big, bare room,
- 21:32nothing but the pillars that support the building, these workbenchres and garage equipment,
- 21:37and the elevator shaft at the other end. It's like being carried alive.
- 21:42I almost wish he had shot us. Let's see, I'm going to
- 21:45make Joe wish he had shot us. What I'm going to make him?
- 21:49Come right to do it right now? Why are you taking off the shoes?
- 21:55I may want to walk quietly before I'm through. Hand me that monkey
- 21:57went there. That won't be any good against the gun. Needs better than
- 22:00nothing. Let me have it. Okay, you get inside that green Todain.
- 22:04Lie down on the floor. You'll be as safe from bullets there as
- 22:07any place, all right. The switchbox on the wall contains the main electrical
- 22:11switches to the entire building, one for the lights and one for power.
- 22:15We've got to keep the garage going upstairs as a blind, but it can't
- 22:18operate without lights, so we cut the lights. I will. I'll be
- 22:26behind this pillar next to the switchbox. Joe will have to get those lights
- 22:30on again and quick, and you'll have to pass me in the dark to
- 22:33do it. I left the power switch on so the elevator still runs.
- 22:37He's coming on, I'm afraid. Don't worry. It'll be over in a
- 22:45minute, one way or the other. Nick and Patsy wait densely in the
- 22:57darkness, unarmed as the elevator descends bearing a killer with a gun in his
- 23:02hand and murder in his heart. We'll see what happens in just a moment.
- 23:11Now for the conclusion of the case of the Bearded Queen. Today's Nick
- 23:17Carter Adventure brought to you by a new bolt war old Dutch gleanser. Trapped
- 23:22in the thought in the dark sub basement of the West Pine Speak garage,
- 23:26Nick, armed only with a monkey wrench, waits behind a concrete pillar near
- 23:30the light switches for a killer across the room. The elevator comes to a
- 23:34stomp. The beam of a flashlight cuts the pitch blackness. In a voice
- 23:37says every Clara to turn off those lights. Mister Carter, clever but fatal.
- 23:45You'll leave us no choice but to dispose of you and miss Bowen.
- 23:48Now come along with a flash night Crops will turn the switch on again.
- 23:53That's the fast Joe God. It probably intends to ambush it, even if
- 23:56he doesn't have a gun. I'll say the elevator and keep the flashlight on
- 24:00you just in cake, good idea. When the lights is on, we
- 24:03can finish them off nice and easy. I'll get this switch in. Remember
- 24:07I have a gun, Mistericarda said, don't think what happened to the flashlights?
- 24:14Had to come to drop it the right way yard, Joe. Okay,
- 24:17card is a very accurate of throwing a wrench. The flashlight's broken.
- 24:21You know where I am, Joe, So you hear a sound in any
- 24:22other part of the room, shoot, don't worry, I will Where did
- 24:30you get him? Joe couldn't have missed that range, buffs. I don't
- 24:33know whether it was him or her. It wasn't either. You go here,
- 24:37help me, Joe, Joe. You all right? Joe? Hello,
- 24:45Jasamine that those gun on your back field? He doesn't have any more
- 24:49your sports. You better drop the one you're holding. Yeah yeah, Oh,
- 24:53will all right, Patsy find that light switch. We're taking these two
- 24:59crooks to a head quarters. Straight ahead on the street, Scubby, you
- 25:14can't miss the sign out front the west Side Boys Club Grand opening tonight.
- 25:18Okay, I'll say, Nick, when he jumped on Joe Ferner in the
- 25:22dark, how'd you know exactly where he was by the flash of his gun
- 25:25when he fired at something across the room. Oh, I still don't know
- 25:29what he was shooting at I do huh. When I heard Bambers tell Joe
- 25:33to fire at any sound, I threw my shoe out of the window of
- 25:37the car I was hiding it, and sure enough he shot at it.
- 25:41Good for you, Patsy, very clever. He distracted Joe's attention just long
- 25:45enough for me to jump in. Great stuff, Patsy, will you marry
- 25:48me? Oh Scuby please? Oh okay, beautiful. And then after I
- 25:52had Joe's gun, it was easy to find Bainbridge in the dark. He
- 25:56kept calling to Joe, so all I had to do was to follow the
- 25:57sound of his voice. Uh huh, this is it, Nick, the
- 26:02new West Side Boys Club. Just look at the crowd. You have your
- 26:06seat in my pocket. Good. You know I'm prouder of being asked to
- 26:10speak at the opening here tonight that I would be if I were asked to
- 26:12address hunger. I guess the other boys who were mixed up with Bainbridge infernal
- 26:17d here Well, thanks well, cursecubby. Nick got the more suspended sentences
- 26:21because of the trickery used to make them seal those cars, And thanks to
- 26:23clubs like this, those boys will now have a chance to grow up right
- 26:29Hey, Patsy, you know what what, Scubby? I just realized,
- 26:33now that you've written in my new Car, maybe you'll change your mind about
- 26:37marrying me. Well, Scubby, I'll I must admit on and love with
- 26:42me. No, darling your car. Nick Carter Master Detective is presented each
- 27:04week at this time and over these same stations by the Cuddy Heat Packing Company,
- 27:08makers of new post war old Dutch Glenser Detective, produced and directed by
- 27:22Jock McGregor, is copyrighted by Streeven Smith's Publications Incorporated. Mon Clark is starred
- 27:30as Nick, with Charlotte Manson featured as Patsy. Scubby is played by John
- 27:34Kane. Today's script was written by Jim Parsons. Original music is played by
- 27:40George Wright. This program is fictional and any resemblance to actual persons living or
- 27:45dead is purely coincidental. This is Bob Marsha saying when Bennett's count use new
- 27:52post war old Dutch Clemson, welcome back. First of all, what a
- 28:00great concluding scene, great suspense, great tension, and I love the twist
- 28:07with Patsy. This was a case where we heard Nick's plan before the break,
- 28:11but when we got back things did not exactly go according to Hoyle,
- 28:15but it still worked out in the end. I will say that the effect
- 28:19of having so many lost episodes is the relatively rare event of a member of
- 28:25Nick's Boyce club getting into trouble seems like less of a rare event than it
- 28:30actually is, because, yeah, I remember another case a few weeks ago,
- 28:34but that was probably close to a year back in recording time for the
- 28:40show. And again you do see that focus on juvenile delinquency, which continued
- 28:45to be a big thing in the post war era, because the great fear
- 28:48of that era domestically is that you'd see a rise of delinquency in crimes such
- 28:56as occurred during the Roaring twenties. All right, Well, now turned to
- 29:00listener comments and feedback, and we have a review of the app on iTunes
- 29:08pook four to eleven under the title heading where's the six star rights? I'll
- 29:15use this daily. Adam does an amazing job catching up with great radio programs.
- 29:21Just adds to my day. Highly recommended. Well, the podcast is
- 29:23available. This supports the host work and is far easier in my opinion.
- 29:29Well, thanks so much, and I would add the app does actually have
- 29:33extra episodes where we take a look at bonus episodes. Plus you've got a
- 29:40greater access to archive on the app, so that's another benefit of it.
- 29:44Well, that will do it for today. We will be back tomorrow with
- 29:48yours truly Johnny Doller, and next week join us for another adventure with Nick
- 29:52Carter. Oh wait, before we go, the episodes that are missing,
- 29:57I should mention the case of the Dead Camera, the case of the Lost
- 30:03Symphony, the case of the Silver Spots, the case of the Frightened Camper,
- 30:07the case of the Murdered Mummy, and the case of the Precious Pebbles.
- 30:11So wow, quite a few missing all right. Well, as I
- 30:14said, we'll see tomorrow for Johnny Dollar next Thursday for Nick Carter from Boise,
- 30:18Idaho. This is your host, Adam Grahamson and off
