Speaker 1: All right, fresh off the Cooper's Town trip, taking it
• 0:06
Speaker 1: down to Presco Park in the Big East Tournament where
• 0:10
Speaker 1: Saint John's in the bottom of seventh is looking to
• 0:14
Speaker 1: take a lead against Creighton, and I realize there's no
• 0:17
Speaker 1: broadcast in New York covering this game. Saint John's baseball
• 0:22
Speaker 1: deserved the same respect as Saint John's basketball. Let's be honest.
• 0:27
Speaker 1: Mike Hampton metam earlier in the year and their coaching staff,
• 0:34
Speaker 1: coaching staff for the Big East, they're making waves. They've
• 0:37
Speaker 1: already won this thing a couple of years ago, and
• 0:40
Speaker 1: they're a local product, and in Saint John's baseball is
• 0:43
Speaker 1: a local product. They have even alumni. And guess who's
• 0:47
Speaker 1: up right now? Those are versus second Will Cohen. Now,
• 0:52
Speaker 1: when I was at the ballpark a couple of weeks
• 0:55
Speaker 1: ago at Jack Kaiser Stadium, Will Cohen has had monster day.
• 1:00
Speaker 1: Let's see what you can do year with runner the
• 1:01
Speaker 1: first and second two out, it's well going to miss
• 1:05
Speaker 1: in the Count's OH one. Cohen also featured on the
• 1:11
Speaker 1: Big East Flyer for today's promo of the championship game
• 1:15
Speaker 1: between Craig and Saint John's. Interesting enough, the game I
• 1:19
Speaker 1: met coachat today was the Saint John's Creton game just
• 1:23
Speaker 1: two weeks ago. So here they are in the Biggiesst
• 1:28
Speaker 1: Championship at Presco Park. Here's the pitch. It Swollna missed
• 1:32
Speaker 1: and the count is on two. Craton is one of
• 1:35
Speaker 1: those teams that's always in it. They do tend to
• 1:38
Speaker 1: win this thing a lot. That's why I went Saint
• 1:40
Speaker 1: John's up into the system a couple of years ago
• 1:43
Speaker 1: and won it. It drew my attention in for sure.
• 1:48
Speaker 1: And that was, of course, as Cohen steps in, here's
• 1:52
Speaker 1: the pitch, it's well gone and fouled off his foot,
• 1:56
Speaker 1: oh and two soon. And the interesting thing to me,
• 1:58
Speaker 1: of course, was that a year earlier in Queen's College
• 2:03
Speaker 1: baseball won their Big East tournament. I've won their East
• 2:07
Speaker 1: Coast Conference tournament. And as I said on this podcast,
• 2:11
Speaker 1: baseball in Queen's is alive and well. And I still
• 2:14
Speaker 1: believe that, especially now as Saint john is already co
• 2:20
Speaker 1: Champion of the Year and as ESPN pleasant reporting, whoever
• 2:25
Speaker 1: wins today does make it to the tournament, the NCAA Tournament.
• 2:29
Speaker 1: So of course all I should be honest. If you're
• 2:33
Speaker 1: a New York City baseball fan, it's Queen's baseball right here.
• 2:37
  Speaker 1: St John's. Here's the one who to Cohen. There's a
• 2:40
Speaker 1: round ball, a short and throw, a second overthrow into
• 2:44
Speaker 1: as first base, and a run scores, and Saint John's
• 2:49
Speaker 1: is up by one. Greeted to Will Cohen with a
• 2:53
Speaker 1: smoke shot through the whole shortstop could not handle it.
• 2:56
Speaker 1: Probably try to get the four s out and second
• 2:58
Speaker 1: and stakes a lead in this very pivotal Game one
• 3:05
Speaker 1: of the Big East Championship. If they do win, there
• 3:08
Speaker 1: will not be a game two. But Cohen with that
• 3:12
Speaker 1: typical swing deep into the hole at short and but
• 3:24
Speaker 1: Rundi scores. Cohen's fired up as always everywhere you see him,
• 3:28
Speaker 1: whatever base He's always fired up. I love that energy
• 3:30
Speaker 1: for that kid. Here's the pitch that one's looped into
• 3:33
Speaker 1: center field and through for a base head another run scores.
• 3:38
Speaker 1: It's an RBI for Saint John's is eight and five
• 3:45
Speaker 1: and just like that, five to three, Saint John's with
• 3:50
Speaker 1: the lead. All right, it's the top of the ninth
• 3:54
Speaker 1: and Saint John's up five to three and outs away
• 4:00
Speaker 1: from clinching their second Big East Tournament in three years.
• 4:07
Speaker 1: We'll see what happens. ESPN Plus is our soundtrack today.
• 4:12
Speaker 2: And I'll tell you if he were to do this
• 4:19
Speaker 2: two times out of three years, that would be special.
• 4:22
Speaker 1: Here's the first picture that top of the night strike
• 4:26
Speaker 1: Nope fall in the accounts one to know to Cooper
• 4:32
Speaker 1: who she know? The dh or Creighton Presco Park is
• 4:39
Speaker 1: the site of to this year's Big East tournament. That's
• 4:41
Speaker 1: a strike on the inside, coining the counts one and one.
• 4:48
Speaker 1: I've seen guys pitching this year like Evan Chaffie a
• 4:50
Speaker 1: couple of times. And boyl boy, you talk about the
• 4:53
Speaker 1: rotation when you talk about the depth of this bullpen
• 4:59
Speaker 1: as well. It's a solid combination for John's team that
• 5:05
Speaker 1: is looking for their second biggest tournament in as many years.
• 5:15
Speaker 1: And here's the picture right in account is two and two.
• 5:29
Speaker 1: Evan Hacerley is the picture today, a picture right now
• 5:34
Speaker 1: in for the Johnnies Green two m Fuccino, Johnny's coming
• 5:48
Speaker 1: in the one seed creating four. Here's the three to
• 5:53
Speaker 1: two rounded to third play. I won't throw it the
• 5:58
Speaker 1: first in time. I want to scoop it first. I
• 6:04
Speaker 1: want to scoop by the first baseman on that throw.
• 6:10
Speaker 1: Jean McMillan, and there's one away as Puccina was hustling down,
• 6:18
Speaker 1: but Gray played at the hot corner. And then I
• 6:24
Speaker 1: throw it first in time, and there's one away. Look,
• 6:31
Speaker 1: if you're Saint John's, you do not want to go
• 6:33
Speaker 1: to a game two. You just don't. Here's the first
• 6:35
Speaker 1: pitch of the next at bat, oh to one, and
• 6:42
Speaker 1: it's Nick van Tiger. Now again, I'm only doing this
• 6:46
Speaker 1: because I don't think anybody locally is calling these games
• 6:50
Speaker 1: for Saint John, So as much as I can, I'd
• 6:52
Speaker 1: love to do it. Here's the one that one's lifted
• 6:55
Speaker 1: into left field, playable out there and left, and the
• 7:00
Speaker 1: Johnnies are one out of way as leftfielder makes the catch.
• 7:08
Speaker 1: Look at these kids on the edge of the dugout banister,
• 7:13
Speaker 1: ready to jump, ready to hoot and holler for the
• 7:18
Speaker 1: second time in three years. You believe that Acoles first
• 7:27
Speaker 1: pitch of the next I bet in their first striking
• 7:30
Speaker 1: accounts only one. Chris Balaragan. Balargan is their last hope
• 7:39
Speaker 1: in Creighton. Here's the pitch that one's grounded a third
• 7:44
Speaker 1: field that fires to first, and that is it.
• 7:48
Speaker 3: The Johnnies are Big East champions for the second time
• 7:51
Speaker 3: in three years and for twenty twenty six. Congratulations as
• 7:57
Speaker 3: they're mobbing each other, Mike Hampton, second time in three years,
• 8:06
Speaker 3: second time in three years, eleventh title all time, and
• 8:13
Speaker 3: now they wait to see.
• 8:14
Speaker 1: Where they go next. But congrats to the Saint John's
• 8:18
Speaker 1: Red Storm. The Johnny's are going to the NC Double
• 8:25
  Speaker 1: A Tournament.
• 8:26
Speaker 2: Eleventh Big East title.
• 8:30
Speaker 1: It is and that is the final words from ESPN Plus.
• 8:35
