- 0:11Speaker 1: wife Julius Jones. A single setback Matt pump facks looking
- 0:14Speaker 1: at the goal line, he throws it into the end zone.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Touchdown Saint Hawks. It's Michael Bumpas with a diving catching
- 0:21Speaker 1: the end zone our ten yard touchdown reception for Puppas
- 0:25Speaker 1: and the kid out of Washington State has found himself
- 0:28Speaker 1: a place on this team. Powered by Seahawks dot Com.
- 0:34Speaker 1: What Up? This is Hawk Talk preview edition Wildcard Playoffs. Baby,
- 0:39Speaker 1: let's get in. The Seahawks take on the rounds for
- 0:41Speaker 1: the third time this season, but this time it is
- 0:45Speaker 1: when or go home. Before we get into the specifics,
- 0:48Speaker 1: here is Nasa Choby with the injury of days Banks Bumble.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Definitely some things we'll be watching very closely this week.
- 0:54Speaker 1: The big one starts with safety Jamal Adams. Last Sunday,
- 0:57Speaker 1: he left with a shoulder injury and looked pretty disa
- 1:00Speaker 1: pointed on the sideline. Here's what head coach Pete Carroll
- 1:02Speaker 1: had to say regarding his status for Saturday. Well, he's
- 1:04Speaker 1: gonna he's gonna work through the way. We can see
- 1:06Speaker 1: what he can get done and see if he's okay.
- 1:08Speaker 1: We'll have to wait all the way up to the
- 1:09Speaker 1: game day, um to figure that out. Jared Reid was
- 1:12Speaker 1: also banged up, dealing with a court injury that he
- 1:14Speaker 1: suffered on Sunday. He has an oblique strain, is what
- 1:17Speaker 1: he has. And I think it came out it was
- 1:19Speaker 1: written something else. But um, you know, we're gonna be real,
- 1:23Speaker 1: you know, real careful with him during the week and
- 1:25Speaker 1: see how he goes on day to day. He's much
- 1:26Speaker 1: better than he was on the weekend. So uh, there's
- 1:29Speaker 1: cause for you know, optimism there. And on the positive side,
- 1:31Speaker 1: the Seahawks activated Brandon Shell from the COVID list and
- 1:34Speaker 1: Mike you potty should be back in the lineup on Saturday.
- 1:37Speaker 1: And finally, for the first time all year, Darryl Taylor
- 1:40Speaker 1: made it back to practice with his teammates. Joe, you
- 1:42Speaker 1: didn't ask your question, man, Come on, come on, ask
- 1:46Speaker 1: what Darrell Taylor. Yes, yes, he's practicing to day. Okay,
- 1:50Speaker 1: see you later, all right, all right, before we get
- 1:52Speaker 1: going here, and make sure to stay current with all
- 1:54Speaker 1: the happenings in the Pacific Northwest at my Northwest dot com,
- 1:57Speaker 1: your source for local news, in depth analysis, weather and traffic,
- 2:00Speaker 1: and say connected to all your favorite sports teams at
- 2:02Speaker 1: seven ten sports dot com with in depth Seahawks coverage
- 2:05Speaker 1: all season long. Bump, you mentioned, it's playoff time, win
- 2:08Speaker 1: or go home Wild Card playoffs. The Rams are up next?
- 2:12Speaker 1: Who's next? Who's next? The Los Angeles Rams are next.
- 2:22Speaker 1: They are ten and six, or were ten and six
- 2:24Speaker 1: in the regular season, finished second in the NFC West.
- 2:27Speaker 1: I feel like we just did this nast What was
- 2:29Speaker 1: a couple of weeks ago we talked about these guys.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Now they are back round three. They've beating some good teams.
- 2:34Speaker 1: They lost to some sorry teams. They lost to the Jets,
- 2:37Speaker 1: but then they beat teams like who they beat as
- 2:40Speaker 1: a good Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They just they're a team
- 2:43Speaker 1: that is inconsistent. But you see the potential in them, like, yeah,
- 2:46Speaker 1: they could be good offensively. We know who they are defensively.
- 2:49Speaker 1: And last week they beat the Cardinals eighteen to seven
- 2:53Speaker 1: and clinched the sixth seed in the NFC playoffs. The
- 2:55Speaker 1: themat tricked me out with that game. That defense scored
- 2:58Speaker 1: nine points. The defense score nine points. They had a
- 3:01Speaker 1: safety and a pick six that went for eighty four yards.
- 3:05Speaker 1: They're played with a backup quarterback in Walford God from
- 3:07Speaker 1: wake Forest, who hadn't seen the field first time playing
- 3:10Speaker 1: in the NFL. Got off to a rocky start through
- 3:12Speaker 1: an interception, but he seemed to settle down as the
- 3:15Speaker 1: game went along. I like that this guy is he's
- 3:17Speaker 1: a competitor. You seed it in him. He wants to play,
- 3:19Speaker 1: he wants to be out there, but end of the day,
- 3:21Speaker 1: you're a backup for a reason. Man, all Right. He
- 3:24Speaker 1: was twenty two of thirty eight, two hundred and thirty
- 3:26Speaker 1: one yards, zero touchdowns, one interception. But he can run
- 3:29Speaker 1: the rock. Yeah, six hairs for fifty six yards. He's
- 3:32Speaker 1: not bad, nass, but he's not good enough to beat
- 3:36Speaker 1: the Seattle Seahawks if he does play. Yeah, no question
- 3:38Speaker 1: about it. I think I watched him and the thing
- 3:40Speaker 1: that jumped out of me at film as he mentioned
- 3:41Speaker 1: his rushing yards is he he has scrambling ability. He
- 3:44Speaker 1: has big playability. There's three different times and third downs
- 3:46Speaker 1: where he used his legs to pick up first downs
- 3:49Speaker 1: and you mentioned it. He wasn't shook, he wasn't rattled.
- 3:51Speaker 1: He looked like he should belong even though he looks
- 3:54Speaker 1: like a really young kid. He looked like he could
- 3:56Speaker 1: be Sean mcvay's younger brother out there. But no, he
- 4:00Speaker 1: he looked he looked solid in his first NFL start.
- 4:02Speaker 1: I mean, I think it's pretty crazy the journey he's
- 4:04Speaker 1: been on to get where he got. So, yeah, I
- 4:07Speaker 1: think he's a solid quarterback. He's not going to go
- 4:10Speaker 1: out there and throw seventeen picks. Is he good enough
- 4:13Speaker 1: to beat the Seahawks defense way they're playing, I don't
- 4:15Speaker 1: think so. I mean, I think the way Sean mcvay's
- 4:17Speaker 1: gonna call games is, you know, he's gonna be out
- 4:21Speaker 1: there not to win the game. They got that good
- 4:23Speaker 1: defense man, so he kind of a game manager role
- 4:25Speaker 1: and he's backed by elite defense. And you mentioned it,
- 4:27Speaker 1: those ram defense man nine points. They were all over Arizona.
- 4:31Speaker 1: I mean, Arizona got shut out for the last fifty
- 4:33Speaker 1: five minutes of the game. They only held the two
- 4:35Speaker 1: hundred and fourteen yards. But as well as that defense played,
- 4:39Speaker 1: I think it's really important to mention Kyler Murray barely
- 4:42Speaker 1: played in that game. Yes, Kyler barely played. He had
- 4:46Speaker 1: like a leg or ankle injury. Came in late in
- 4:48Speaker 1: the game to try to save the game. But we
- 4:50Speaker 1: all and all that goes. You gotta stay in a rhythm.
- 4:52Speaker 1: He was not in a rhythm. Now, this rams defense
- 4:55Speaker 1: all right, Hell teams to eighteen point five points per game,
- 4:59Speaker 1: in two hundred and eighty one yards per game. We
- 5:02Speaker 1: said it before. They got some guys on that side
- 5:04Speaker 1: of the football who can get it done. That is
- 5:06Speaker 1: the strength of their team. This is the best defense
- 5:08Speaker 1: in the league. Now. They held the rookie for Arizona
- 5:12Speaker 1: who started Chris Streveler to eleven of sixteen, one hundred
- 5:16Speaker 1: and five yards, one touchdown, the one pick. And then
- 5:19Speaker 1: after the game, Aerondondald was talking he wants he wants
- 5:21Speaker 1: the rematch and he's a competitor, so I appreciate that
- 5:24Speaker 1: about him. He better hope that Jared Goffer is playing.
- 5:27Speaker 1: I know, I know that. Like I said, the Hawks
- 5:29Speaker 1: gonna talk that that that noise, So I'm gonna talking
- 5:31Speaker 1: form a bit. They better hope that Jared Goff is
- 5:34Speaker 1: playing because I feel like this team is gonna get spot.
- 5:36Speaker 1: I just look at their heads ahead. Offensively, the Rams
- 5:40Speaker 1: are eleventh overall, tenth in rush offense, thirteenth when it
- 5:44Speaker 1: comes to throwing the rock, and twenty third when it
- 5:47Speaker 1: comes to putting up points. The Seahawks, on the other hand,
- 5:50Speaker 1: seventeenth overall, and that crazy the way this season started.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Now they're down to seventeenth overall offense, twelfth when it
- 5:55Speaker 1: comes around the rock, sixteen when we're throwing it in
- 5:58Speaker 1: eight points per game, averaging twenty eight point seven. This
- 6:02Speaker 1: doesn't feel like a seventeenth rank offense. This is because
- 6:06Speaker 1: of what they've done in the past. The last few weeks.
- 6:08Speaker 1: You can say, oh, they haven't put up a lot
- 6:09Speaker 1: of points. I get it, but I feel like they're
- 6:12Speaker 1: ready to go. They got that what do you call that,
- 6:14Speaker 1: kinetic energy, potential energy. It's right there right, They are
- 6:17Speaker 1: ready to go, and I think this is the week
- 6:19Speaker 1: where they get back on track. No, they got the juice,
- 6:21Speaker 1: and you're right. When I was putting this together, I
- 6:22Speaker 1: was like, that's not right. We're not seventeenth. And though
- 6:25Speaker 1: I mean for the first six, seven, eight weeks of
- 6:27Speaker 1: the year we were looking at we're number one, maybe
- 6:29Speaker 1: we were two, maybe we were three. Kind of fluctuation.
- 6:31Speaker 1: But you know, we haven't scored a lot of points
- 6:33Speaker 1: and gained a lot of yards to last, you know,
- 6:35Speaker 1: over the month of the season, when the exception of
- 6:37Speaker 1: that Jets game. Yeah, so seventeenth is shocking to look at,
- 6:39Speaker 1: but we're this offense is so much better than seventeen.
- 6:41Speaker 1: I mean, it's with the weapons to Seahawks haf between
- 6:44Speaker 1: Russ and DK and Tyler and Carson and hopefully healthy
- 6:48Speaker 1: offensive line. I think I think this defense, or excusing
- 6:51Speaker 1: this offense is built for the playoffs. I think what
- 6:54Speaker 1: the good thing that they've shown this year is they
- 6:56Speaker 1: can win any type of way. They can win in
- 6:57Speaker 1: the shootout. They can win when their defense can't get
- 7:00Speaker 1: to stop and they got to score forty points. They
- 7:02Speaker 1: can win when it's a close scoring game and they
- 7:03Speaker 1: got to win late. They can win shootouts in between.
- 7:06Speaker 1: So I'm encouraged by that, despite how they looked at
- 7:10Speaker 1: times against the Niners last week when it was winning time,
- 7:14Speaker 1: just like they did against the Rams or good in
- 7:15Speaker 1: the fourth quarter. So I feel much better about this
- 7:18Speaker 1: offense than the statistics show. Same thing about the defense.
- 7:21Speaker 1: And honestly, for the Seahawks defense, we finished the year
- 7:24Speaker 1: at twenty second in total defense, which honestly is amazing
- 7:29Speaker 1: considering when they started they were. They weren't only thirty
- 7:31Speaker 1: second in like week six or seven, they were thirty
- 7:34Speaker 1: second by a large margin, a large so the fact
- 7:38Speaker 1: that they climbed up to twenty two. Rust defense has
- 7:42Speaker 1: been good all year in number five, past defense never
- 7:45Speaker 1: quite recovered from that. They're still thirty first points allowed
- 7:48Speaker 1: per game, which was great. They jumped to them halfway
- 7:50Speaker 1: through the league, essentially fifteen at twenty three points per game,
- 7:53Speaker 1: and the turnover differential it's lower than Pete Carroll would like,
- 7:58Speaker 1: considering this program is all about the foot ball. That
- 8:00Speaker 1: kind of a stretching there where they weren't turning the
- 8:02Speaker 1: ball over as much and the offense had a lot
- 8:03Speaker 1: of turnovers. But they're still plus four the Rams, on
- 8:06Speaker 1: the other hand, in nineties three. So statistically it looks
- 8:09Speaker 1: like the Rams got the edge. But we know how
- 8:11Speaker 1: these two teams played last time, you know, if the
- 8:13Speaker 1: season's really played out, like so, I like where the
- 8:15Speaker 1: Seahawks are at. I like where they're at. I'm gonna
- 8:19Speaker 1: talk that talk, but it's gonna be a battle. We
- 8:21Speaker 1: know how the games go with the Rams. I don't
- 8:22Speaker 1: care who they have that quarterback. They could have Cooper
- 8:25Speaker 1: Cup going back to his high school days when he
- 8:27Speaker 1: had the Cooper Cub package back in Yakima, when he's
- 8:30Speaker 1: playing varsity football. They always find a way to make
- 8:33Speaker 1: it interesting. So I think it will be interesting. But
- 8:35Speaker 1: it's not how you start, it's how you finish. In
- 8:37Speaker 1: this defense as finished on a high note. Let's get
- 8:40Speaker 1: this offense going. Now, let's learn about these teams history. No,
- 8:45Speaker 1: your history. Well, you guys should be pretty familiar with
- 8:48Speaker 1: the history. Considering we've gone out of this the third time,
- 8:50Speaker 1: we've kind of revisited, so I'll go through it pretty quick.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Seahawks lead the all time series twenty five to twenty.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Sean mcvay's five and three against Pete Carroll and it's
- 8:58Speaker 1: one of five last seven games, but the last one,
- 9:00Speaker 1: most importantly was the Seahawks winning to clinch the NFC
- 9:04Speaker 1: West just two weeks ago, beating the Rams at Looming
- 9:06Speaker 1: Field twenty to nine. Quick refresher on that game, the
- 9:10Speaker 1: Rams scored nine points. Jared Goff did what he thought
- 9:12Speaker 1: he would. He turned the ball over an inexplicable pass
- 9:15Speaker 1: to really only to Condre Digs. The only person could
- 9:17Speaker 1: have caught that one. He threw for two hundred and
- 9:19Speaker 1: thirty four yards, didn't throw a touchdown, injured, his thumb
- 9:23Speaker 1: dislocated it. Props to him. He popped that thing back in,
- 9:26Speaker 1: finished the game. Obviously had to have surgery to kind
- 9:29Speaker 1: of stabilize that thumb. But in my opinion month, that
- 9:33Speaker 1: was the Seahawks best winning twenty twenty. It was the
- 9:34Speaker 1: most important game they had to win in all three phases,
- 9:37Speaker 1: and then that's exactly what they did. That's what they did,
- 9:41Speaker 1: and Hollister got to cap it off with a touchdown
- 9:44Speaker 1: to seal the deal. We remember last year he came
- 9:46Speaker 1: up just a little bit short of winning the NFC
- 9:49Speaker 1: West or the Seattle Seahawks. It's just time to go. Man,
- 9:53Speaker 1: love the matchup. I think it's gonna be good. Aaron
- 9:55Speaker 1: Donald's going to be healthy, Leonard Floor is ready, Jalen
- 9:57Speaker 1: Ramsey is ready. But we got some guys too. Offensive
- 10:01Speaker 1: line is gonna get healthy. It sounds like Shell might
- 10:03Speaker 1: be ready to go, so we'll have the band will
- 10:05Speaker 1: be back together. It is time to go. What's the
- 10:08Speaker 1: word in the West and the Seahawks are the NFC
- 10:15Speaker 1: West champs again, what's the word in the West on
- 10:20Speaker 1: Hawk talk, I'll tell you what the word of the
- 10:23Speaker 1: West is. Champs are here. M to see West, champs
- 10:27Speaker 1: are here, Wall card round, It's time to go. Hawks
- 10:29Speaker 1: finished the season at twelve and four, runs behind him
- 10:32Speaker 1: at ten and six and Carlinos or eight and eight,
- 10:34Speaker 1: and the San Francisco forty nine ers get out of
- 10:36Speaker 1: this thing in six and ten, which is at six
- 10:39Speaker 1: and ten is kind of impressive. Now. I know they
- 10:41Speaker 1: didn't end the way they wanted to. I know the
- 10:44Speaker 1: Hawks is the spies of the forty nineers, but they
- 10:46Speaker 1: went through a lot of stuff. And if they were
- 10:48Speaker 1: in the NFAC East, they might have a chance to
- 10:51Speaker 1: make the playoffs at six and ten him, but this
- 10:53Speaker 1: is the West, this is not the East. That ain't
- 10:56Speaker 1: gonna be enough to get it done. The Hawks win
- 10:58Speaker 1: the West for the first time since sixteen. It feels
- 11:02Speaker 1: it feels like it's been a whimp. It's what it's
- 11:04Speaker 1: seen A lot was that three seasons ago. But the
- 11:06Speaker 1: way things are done out here in Seattle, you used
- 11:08Speaker 1: to get them what every other year, maybe you win
- 11:10Speaker 1: a division? Yeah, No, I mean for me personally, twenty
- 11:13Speaker 1: sixteen feels like forever ago because the following season after
- 11:16Speaker 1: that we missed the playoffs for the only time in
- 11:18Speaker 1: Russell Wilson's tenure. Twenty eighteen, we lose to Dallas actually
- 11:21Speaker 1: that was two years ago. Today bump and the wildcard playoffs,
- 11:25Speaker 1: and then the following the last year, you beat Philadelphia
- 11:28Speaker 1: and you lose a heartbreaker to Green Bay in the
- 11:29Speaker 1: divisional round. So it's it's good for one to win
- 11:33Speaker 1: any cust title again because that's what these guys talk
- 11:35Speaker 1: about from the beginning of the year is owned the
- 11:37Speaker 1: West and it starts there. So it's great to check
- 11:39Speaker 1: that off and play and get a home playoff game. Yeah,
- 11:41Speaker 1: there's no fans there, but no travel. Get to sleep
- 11:44Speaker 1: in your own bed or sleep in the hotel that
- 11:46Speaker 1: you you always go to the night before games and
- 11:48Speaker 1: stuff like that. So from a comfortability standpoint, and that's
- 11:50Speaker 1: great and it keeps you. It gives you a sliver
- 11:53Speaker 1: of hope that if you keep winning and maybe in
- 11:56Speaker 1: Green Bay or New Orleans gets upset that maybe you
- 11:58Speaker 1: host a game further down the road. But right now,
- 12:00Speaker 1: we'll talk about this wild card stuff and just kind
- 12:02Speaker 1: of recap what happened in the division this year. Right, So,
- 12:05Speaker 1: like the Rams, they're back in the playoffs after missing
- 12:07Speaker 1: the playoffs last year. Sean mcvays led them in the
- 12:10Speaker 1: playoffs three his four seasons in LA. Cardinals missed the
- 12:14Speaker 1: playoffs for the fifth consecutive season. So, and obviously you
- 12:19Speaker 1: mentioned the Niners. They had a truly awful year when
- 12:22Speaker 1: it comes to injuries, I mean absolutely decimated after going
- 12:25Speaker 1: to the Super Bowl last season. The bump, here's the lesson.
- 12:29Speaker 1: Here is the lesson if you have not been paying
- 12:31Speaker 1: attention to us all season. Here's a lesson. It's hard
- 12:34Speaker 1: to win in the National Football League. So do not
- 12:36Speaker 1: take the seahawks success for granted. The Seahawks has been
- 12:39Speaker 1: in the postseason nine of eleven years under Pete Carroll.
- 12:41Speaker 1: Of those nine postseason years, the Seahawks have won at
- 12:43Speaker 1: least one game in seven of those seasons. Okay, every
- 12:48Speaker 1: other team in the NFC West has had at least
- 12:51Speaker 1: four or ten lost seasons in that stant. In that span, okay,
- 12:55Speaker 1: the Seahawks have just been consistent. Every other team in
- 12:58Speaker 1: the NFUSC has been really bad, good, and really bad
- 13:01Speaker 1: again in that seems span. The Seahawks been incredibly consistent.
- 13:05Speaker 1: So guys, don't get tired of winning, don't get tired
- 13:08Speaker 1: of winning. Don't take it for granting. Okay, y'all spoil,
- 13:12Speaker 1: that's all they're saying. Y'all spoil, all right, you don't.
- 13:14Speaker 1: A lot of teams don't have the success at the
- 13:16Speaker 1: hawksab so enjoy it. Okay. Final impressions of the division
- 13:21Speaker 1: in twenty twenty. Are the Cardinals and Kyler Murray going
- 13:25Speaker 1: to be more legitimate of a contender in twenty twenty one?
- 13:27Speaker 1: I think they are, I really do. I think if
- 13:29Speaker 1: Murray stays healthy. I think if a couple things happened
- 13:33Speaker 1: for him on defense, you see the potential in this
- 13:35Speaker 1: Cardinals seem unfortunately they started off five and two. Kyler
- 13:38Speaker 1: Murray was an MVP talks number one offense in all
- 13:41Speaker 1: the land at some point, but then injuries happened. You
- 13:45Speaker 1: start to get scouted, You gotta adjust when it comes
- 13:47Speaker 1: to coaching. Things happen. But I think the Cardinals are
- 13:50Speaker 1: gonna be a good football team. Will there be another
- 13:52Speaker 1: quarterback in San Fran? Will San Fran bounce back? Shanahan
- 13:56Speaker 1: is same, He's got his guy and Jimmy Garoppolo he's
- 13:58Speaker 1: gonna be good to go. I saw scenario on Instagram.
- 14:03Speaker 1: Be careful where you get you information from memes and
- 14:05Speaker 1: all that stuff. But I saw a scenario where the
- 14:08Speaker 1: Niners trade up for that number three, number four picked,
- 14:11Speaker 1: and they pick Justin Fields. If they if they pull
- 14:14Speaker 1: something like that off, I think Justin Fields would be
- 14:16Speaker 1: a good fifth there. You get rid of Jimmy, you
- 14:18Speaker 1: save some money. That's how you win. You build around
- 14:20Speaker 1: a young quarterback. I think that would be a good
- 14:22Speaker 1: move for them, if that even happens. Everyone's throwing out
- 14:24Speaker 1: scenarios right now. I just saw that scenario. It looked
- 14:27Speaker 1: pretty fun, so I took some time and reddit. Saturday's
- 14:31Speaker 1: game will definitely show who really owns the Western Game three.
- 14:34Speaker 1: It will they split their one on one. This is
- 14:37Speaker 1: a tiebreaker right here, man, It means a whole lot more.
- 14:41Speaker 1: It's winner going home. We know that the Rams are
- 14:43Speaker 1: gonna come ready to play. We've seen each other for
- 14:45Speaker 1: the third time. It's not like teams are gonna change
- 14:48Speaker 1: their scheme and throw out this a crazy concept that
- 14:51Speaker 1: we haven't seen all year. You are who you are
- 14:53Speaker 1: at this point. You gotta be the team that got
- 14:55Speaker 1: you into the playoffs. Will you add wrinkles here and there, Yes,
- 14:59Speaker 1: you will, But we all know Cup is gonna get
- 15:01Speaker 1: those yards after the catch. We know Woods is gonna
- 15:03Speaker 1: be getting on the jet suites. Cam Anchors is healthy
- 15:05Speaker 1: this time around. He's gonna get the rock. And we
- 15:07Speaker 1: know Aaron Donald and know it is who it is.
- 15:09Speaker 1: It's all about who wants it more and who execute
- 15:12Speaker 1: out a high level at this point. Yeah. And the
- 15:14Speaker 1: thing about it too is like the NFC West titles
- 15:16Speaker 1: where it starts right and I'm not gonna downgrade that
- 15:20Speaker 1: at all. That's a huge accomplishment has been done in
- 15:22Speaker 1: it in four years here in Seattle. But if you
- 15:25Speaker 1: lose to the Rams on Sunday that division title, the
- 15:28Speaker 1: shine comes completely off it, man, because you lose to
- 15:31Speaker 1: a division rival and then you're going home in the
- 15:32Speaker 1: Wild Car playoffs and should do worse than we did
- 15:35Speaker 1: last year would be incredibly disappointing. So I don't think
- 15:38Speaker 1: that's gonna happen. Um, it's just really time to flex
- 15:40Speaker 1: up and show that you own the West, you own
- 15:43Speaker 1: home field, you own the Luman field, and you're gonna
- 15:44Speaker 1: go out there and handle business. Bump, Let's get in
- 15:47Speaker 1: these matchups. Man up, who is this man? This man
- 15:57Speaker 1: up on Hawk Talk? All right, man up, We're gonna
- 16:01Speaker 1: start with the person who's gonna be under center for
- 16:03Speaker 1: the Los Angeles Rams. Now, is that gonna be Jared Goffer?
- 16:06Speaker 1: Is that gonna be John Wolford. Sean McVay has been
- 16:09Speaker 1: very noncommittal about the status of Jared Goff broke. Like
- 16:11Speaker 1: I said earlier, he broke his thumb after hitting Ben
- 16:13Speaker 1: to Mayo his helmet in week sixteen. He's popped that
- 16:16Speaker 1: thing back into place, got surgery to stabilize it. Wolford
- 16:20Speaker 1: got his first centifol start last week against the Cardinals.
- 16:24Speaker 1: Mcvayh initially said, Hey, this is an injury that's not
- 16:26Speaker 1: gonna take golf out for an extended amount of time,
- 16:28Speaker 1: but we'll see that'd be really quick comeback if he's
- 16:30Speaker 1: able to come back this quick. A couple of season
- 16:33Speaker 1: numbers on Golf he threw for almost four thousand yards,
- 16:36Speaker 1: twenty touchdowns, twelve picks on the season, fifty one carries
- 16:39Speaker 1: for ninety nine yards, so he's not gonna kill you
- 16:41Speaker 1: with his legs, but did have four touchdowns on a
- 16:43Speaker 1: couple of QB sneaks two different games. Against Seattle, he
- 16:48Speaker 1: threw for over three hundred yards the first time, didn't
- 16:50Speaker 1: throw a touchdown, but it was a lot more effective.
- 16:52Speaker 1: Second game twenty four for forty three, no touchdowns, one pick.
- 16:55Speaker 1: So I'm feeling confident either way. I think obviously you know,
- 17:00Speaker 1: I mean, say what you wanted by Jared Goff, he
- 17:01Speaker 1: absolutely gives him the best chance to win bum But
- 17:04Speaker 1: don't sleep on John Woolford because he's going to He's
- 17:07Speaker 1: at least going to show up to the table. He's
- 17:09Speaker 1: gonna be more elusive. He'll still give them a chance
- 17:12Speaker 1: to win. But either way, whoever's lining up a quarterback,
- 17:15Speaker 1: you need to make them uncomfortable. You need to turn
- 17:17Speaker 1: the ball over and you need to make them one dimensional.
- 17:21Speaker 1: We need both of those guys under pressure. Send him,
- 17:25Speaker 1: Send him. We'll see what Jamal Adams looks like. We
- 17:27Speaker 1: know he's banged up. He's key into applying pressure. But
- 17:29Speaker 1: what I did see last when Jamal was out last game,
- 17:32Speaker 1: the very next playing, Ryan Neil is in and they
- 17:34Speaker 1: send him on a blitz. And Ryan Neil, if we
- 17:36Speaker 1: remember he had two games, we had two interceptions, I
- 17:39Speaker 1: believe one against Dallas, one against Miami. He's been there.
- 17:42Speaker 1: They can plug him in. They probably won't be as aggressive,
- 17:45Speaker 1: but they can still get after him. But something tells
- 17:47Speaker 1: me Jamal is gonna do whatever he has do to
- 17:49Speaker 1: get on that field. Next matchup, Cooper Cup Robert was Verse,
- 17:53Speaker 1: Seattle's secondary Cup has ninety two yards excuse me, ninety
- 17:58Speaker 1: two receptions, nine hundred and seventy two yards and just
- 18:00Speaker 1: three touchdowns, but five hundred and twenty nine yards after
- 18:04Speaker 1: they catch when the ball is in his hands, I
- 18:07Speaker 1: do special. Man. He's got some wiggle, he's got some burst.
- 18:11Speaker 1: The first match up be at five receptions for fifty yards,
- 18:14Speaker 1: the second match up be at eight receptions for sixty
- 18:16Speaker 1: six yards, and they haven't really utilized him to his
- 18:20Speaker 1: full potential. And we're saying that in the man has
- 18:22Speaker 1: ninety two catches in nine hundred and seventy two yards,
- 18:25Speaker 1: but a guy like him needs to get into the
- 18:28Speaker 1: end zone more often. And it seems like as of leet,
- 18:31Speaker 1: they haven't really been feed him. So I expect him
- 18:33Speaker 1: to highlight him this week. Now. Robert Woods has ninety receptions,
- 18:36Speaker 1: nine hundred and thirty six yards, six touchdowns, twenty four
- 18:39Speaker 1: carries f one hundred and fifty five yards and two touchdowns.
- 18:41Speaker 1: When you get into that red zone, Robert was as
- 18:44Speaker 1: their main target. Theyre gonna look at him in jet sweets.
- 18:46Speaker 1: They're trying to try to give him the rock in
- 18:48Speaker 1: the corners. He's deceptibly fast. He ran a four or
- 18:51Speaker 1: five at the NFL Combine, but you watch him on film,
- 18:54Speaker 1: he looks like a four or three, four or four guy.
- 18:57Speaker 1: The first matchup he had five receptions for thirty three yard.
- 19:00Speaker 1: The second matchup he had four sections for forty eight yards.
- 19:04Speaker 1: Both guys were kind of held back last game. We
- 19:07Speaker 1: didn't we didn't. We didn't get the full dosage of
- 19:10Speaker 1: Woods and Cup. And I think going into this game
- 19:13Speaker 1: with Walford, what approach they're gonna take. You got a
- 19:17Speaker 1: young quarterback. You think they're gonna hand the ball off
- 19:19Speaker 1: to cam Akers and Malcolm Brown and Henderson and have
- 19:21Speaker 1: them do their thing. But we know how good the
- 19:24Speaker 1: Seahawks are against the run. At some point they're gonna
- 19:26Speaker 1: have to let this young fellow, if he's in, drop
- 19:28Speaker 1: back and throw the rock. And he threw a nice
- 19:31Speaker 1: pass Robert Woods last week, a pass he shouldn't have
- 19:34Speaker 1: thrown him. But because he's young, and he has these
- 19:36Speaker 1: two guys on outside who can get a damn. He's
- 19:38Speaker 1: gonna take some chances. If he does take those chances,
- 19:40Speaker 1: haws gotta jump all over him. Yeah. No, for I
- 19:44Speaker 1: totally agree with that. I think I think as a
- 19:45Speaker 1: young quarterback he needs to lean on those two because
- 19:47Speaker 1: that kind of propels us into the next matchup Cam
- 19:50Speaker 1: Akers and Malcolm Brown. So Henderson got hurt against us
- 19:52Speaker 1: A last in Week sixteen and cam Akers last week
- 19:56Speaker 1: man he got completely shut down bump twenty one carries
- 19:59Speaker 1: for thirty to four yards, and as we know, it's
- 20:02Speaker 1: definitely not gonna be good enough against the Seahawks. Like
- 20:04Speaker 1: I mentioned, deary Henderson got put on I r if
- 20:06Speaker 1: getting hurt against US I'm kind of looking at the
- 20:08Speaker 1: season numbers. Acres one hundred forty five carries, six twenty
- 20:11Speaker 1: five two toads, Brown one hundred one carries four hundred
- 20:15Speaker 1: nineteen yards and five touchdowns, and with the qbas only
- 20:18Speaker 1: played one game in the NFL, this is like I
- 20:21Speaker 1: want to say this, if not number one, number two,
- 20:23Speaker 1: most important matchup, but the afternoon because if you can
- 20:26Speaker 1: make these guys one dimensional and make Walford or Goff
- 20:29Speaker 1: have to throw at forty times, thirty five times, whatever
- 20:32Speaker 1: it is, it's gonna be a long day. And I
- 20:33Speaker 1: think it's gonna get ugly. I mean, the Seahawks will
- 20:35Speaker 1: stop the run all season long, and yeah, I think
- 20:39Speaker 1: they're gonna come out with you know, they run a
- 20:41Speaker 1: ton of twelve personnel, a ton of those and when
- 20:44Speaker 1: they do pass the ball out of two man routes
- 20:46Speaker 1: and stuff like that. But I think they're gonna try
- 20:48Speaker 1: to come out and run the ball, and I think
- 20:50Speaker 1: if the Seahawks can stop it from then on, it
- 20:51Speaker 1: could be a long day for those guys. Stop that run, baby,
- 20:55Speaker 1: all right. The next matchup, the most important matchup, Russell
- 20:58Speaker 1: Wilson Versu the rams D defense. For the season, Russell
- 21:01Speaker 1: is three eighty four for five fifty eight four thousand,
- 21:04Speaker 1: two hundred and twelve yards, forty touchdowns, thirteen interceptions, eighty
- 21:09Speaker 1: three carries, five hundred and thirteen yards two touchdowns. Now
- 21:12Speaker 1: the first time they linked up down in Callie round
- 21:15Speaker 1: the Corn around from and Inglewood twenty two for thirty seven,
- 21:18Speaker 1: he was two hundred and forty eight yards, no touchdowns,
- 21:22Speaker 1: but two interceptions. Two Cruiser interceptions, one fumble. The next
- 21:26Speaker 1: MATCHIP twenty for thirty two two hundred twenty five yards,
- 21:29Speaker 1: one touchdown, one rushing testdown, zero turnovers. When the Hawks
- 21:34Speaker 1: win the turnover battle this year, they are twelve n O.
- 21:37Speaker 1: Pete Carroll will let you know he is all about
- 21:40Speaker 1: the football, taking care of the football, game after the football.
- 21:42Speaker 1: It all starts at Russell Wilson. Man, I'm gonnaknock on
- 21:45Speaker 1: wood before I say this, but I don't remember any
- 21:47Speaker 1: of our running backs fumbling this year, so it's not
- 21:49Speaker 1: like we got issues hold onto the rock when we
- 21:52Speaker 1: are running it. There have been a couple of tip
- 21:54Speaker 1: passes come out the receiver's hands that cast him interceptions.
- 21:56Speaker 1: But end of the day, it comes down to Russell
- 21:58Speaker 1: Wilson taking care of the football. And if that means
- 22:00Speaker 1: that he has a game like he had last week
- 22:02Speaker 1: where he's super cautious, you know, I watched the film.
- 22:05Speaker 1: There are a couple of times where he could have
- 22:07Speaker 1: taken some shots there DK's open, and the NFL opened
- 22:10Speaker 1: means you got one step or half a step on
- 22:11Speaker 1: the defender because guys are there, and he's kind of like, no,
- 22:14Speaker 1: I'm not gonna take that chance right now, I'm just
- 22:15Speaker 1: gonna check down. I'm gonna run the football. If he
- 22:18Speaker 1: has that type of game, I'm all good with. The
- 22:20Speaker 1: calculated risk taking is what I see out of Russell
- 22:23Speaker 1: Wilson right now. And I'm okay with them. Just get
- 22:27Speaker 1: to w I don't care what it looks like. Yeah. No,
- 22:29Speaker 1: And I'm okay with the two because when you look
- 22:30Speaker 1: at the Rams there, we already mentioned that they're the
- 22:32Speaker 1: number one defense the NFL, and they have a lot
- 22:35Speaker 1: of top ten defensive rankings points per game number one,
- 22:37Speaker 1: defensive total yards per game number one, net passing yards
- 22:40Speaker 1: per game number one, sacks number two, third down percentage
- 22:43Speaker 1: number three, rush yards number three, red zone number four,
- 22:46Speaker 1: passing percentage number five, tied for ten, and total takeaways
- 22:49Speaker 1: for twenty two. And these Rams defense only a lot
- 22:52Speaker 1: of eight second half touchdowns all season all season. But
- 22:56Speaker 1: you know what, bump two of them came again to
- 22:59Speaker 1: Seahawk in Week sixteen. So Russell's gonna have his work
- 23:03Speaker 1: cut out for him. As we know, the Rams play
- 23:05Speaker 1: the Seahawks so well. Young defensive coordinator Brandon Stanley is
- 23:08Speaker 1: having those guys playing some unbelievable football to the point
- 23:11Speaker 1: where he's even on a short list of head coaching jobs,
- 23:14Speaker 1: which is unbelievable. Crazy rise throughout the coaching rank considering
- 23:17Speaker 1: he's coaching Division three football like six seven years ago,
- 23:21Speaker 1: which is unbelievable. There, but no, Russell's gonna have to
- 23:24Speaker 1: come with it. Take care of the football and we
- 23:28Speaker 1: win this game. But bump beyond just the ram defense,
- 23:31Speaker 1: if we just focus on that front line, they gotta
- 23:35Speaker 1: worry about Aaron Donald and Leonard Floyd. Yeah, talk to him. Yeah,
- 23:41Speaker 1: those guys are some special, some special man. Aaron Donald
- 23:45Speaker 1: thirteen and a half sacks, forty five tackles, nineteen tackles
- 23:48Speaker 1: for a loss. His second teammate and well teammate closer
- 23:51Speaker 1: than him, has twelve and a half, and he has
- 23:54Speaker 1: four force fumbles. You just look at this dude. Man,
- 23:56Speaker 1: I'm watching filming this guy and he'll slant to the
- 23:59Speaker 1: ride gibbs, spin moved different ribb. Get to the quarterback,
- 24:02Speaker 1: he'll bull rush you go straight up, just go right threugh.
- 24:04Speaker 1: You get to the quarterback, he'll line up at the
- 24:06Speaker 1: five technique. That means outside of the tackle boom, get
- 24:09Speaker 1: to the quarterback. He's versatile. I don't think I've seen
- 24:11Speaker 1: him move around as much. Prior to this season. He's
- 24:17Speaker 1: typically just been that inside technique that won that three technique.
- 24:20Speaker 1: But they're moving him around, and there are times where
- 24:22Speaker 1: they will put him and Leonard Floyd on the same
- 24:24Speaker 1: side and just try to overwhelm you. If Shell isn't
- 24:27Speaker 1: in this ball game, I anticipate seeing that look now
- 24:31Speaker 1: against the Seattle Seahawks. In fourteen games, Aaron Donald thirteen sacks,
- 24:35Speaker 1: thirty one tackles, twenty tackles for loss, thirty six QB hits,
- 24:39Speaker 1: two passes defended in two forced fumbles. But it's a
- 24:43Speaker 1: good part. In twenty twenty, only has one sack, one tackle,
- 24:47Speaker 1: and one tackle for loss, and that was all in
- 24:49Speaker 1: the same play. I don't expect him to duplicate that performance.
- 24:52Speaker 1: He's Aaron Donald. He's a bad man. But this offensive
- 24:56Speaker 1: line can walk into this game at least confidence saying, look,
- 24:59Speaker 1: he tore the league up him and doing none of us.
- 25:01Speaker 1: I don't know what what he did, y'all, but this Seahawks
- 25:03Speaker 1: offensive line has handed him pretty well well. The thing
- 25:06Speaker 1: about it, too, is, yes, we could we've kept him
- 25:09Speaker 1: from wrecking games because in his tenure he has absolutely
- 25:12Speaker 1: just destroyed offensive game plans and ruined games. He's still effective.
- 25:16Speaker 1: He still us to cause so much attention in real
- 25:18Speaker 1: quick I know Ray Roberts has talked about this a lot.
- 25:20Speaker 1: Something the Seahawks offensive line has struggled with is when
- 25:22Speaker 1: guys just running games with us, when they run those
- 25:24Speaker 1: te stunts and we're having trouble stopping that. And Ray
- 25:28Speaker 1: pointed it out on Sunday. A lot of times the guard,
- 25:33Speaker 1: too much penetration happens from the guard, and then it's
- 25:36Speaker 1: too late to pass it off. So our tackles are
- 25:38Speaker 1: just too late, too much pressure inside, so you lean
- 25:41Speaker 1: inside and when they loop around, it just can't get
- 25:44Speaker 1: there in time. So that's something that we haven't been
- 25:46Speaker 1: able to stop, and they're definitely gonna need to work
- 25:47Speaker 1: with because man Leonard Floyd, he has five sacks, fifteen
- 25:51Speaker 1: tackles in seven QB hits against us this year. A
- 25:55Speaker 1: lot of that's because Aaron Donald they're doing upfront. So
- 25:57Speaker 1: if you can somehow find a way to slow these
- 25:59Speaker 1: guys down, the Seahawks have a good chance on offense.
- 26:04Speaker 1: Objective number one, slow down Aaron Donald and mister Floyd. Okay,
- 26:09Speaker 1: the next matchup we got Chris Carson, Carlos Hide, and
- 26:11Speaker 1: Rashot Penny verse the Rams front seven. Now, none of
- 26:16Speaker 1: these guys played in that first matchup. Nobody played. I
- 26:18Speaker 1: think Alex Collins was the leading rusher for the team
- 26:21Speaker 1: at that running back position. So they're gonna get a
- 26:24Speaker 1: dose of what it could what life is really like
- 26:26Speaker 1: when you have all your horses in the backfield. We
- 26:29Speaker 1: saw Rashot Penny last week get some touches. Chris Carson
- 26:32Speaker 1: looks like he is back now. Carlos Hide, Rashad Penny
- 26:37Speaker 1: and Carson. They haven't wowed you with a performance this year, right,
- 26:39Speaker 1: It's not like we've seen them belind Man, that was
- 26:42Speaker 1: a great game over one hundred yards. No, but they've
- 26:44Speaker 1: wiled you in moments. Penny not not so much yet.
- 26:47Speaker 1: He only has like ten cares for the season. But
- 26:49Speaker 1: they've shown that they can keep the chains moving and
- 26:51Speaker 1: they can have big plays. I believe Carlos Hide has
- 26:53Speaker 1: the biggest rushing player from the line of scrimmage this
- 26:55Speaker 1: year for US, and that was a couple of weeks ago.
- 26:58Speaker 1: Chris Carson is just steady. He's gonna get you sixty
- 27:00Speaker 1: seventy yards twenty thirty yards in the past game. He's
- 27:03Speaker 1: gonna have one or two big plays, and I'm okay
- 27:06Speaker 1: with that. As long as all three are contributing, I
- 27:09Speaker 1: think they will be fine. And they have to contribute
- 27:10Speaker 1: this week, Yeah, no question about it. I mean, I
- 27:12Speaker 1: think in the second game, Carson at sixteen carry sixty
- 27:15Speaker 1: nine yards, three receptions or ten yards. So while he wasn't,
- 27:18Speaker 1: like he said, overwhelmingly, he's been kind of getting around
- 27:21Speaker 1: that seventy to eighty yards per game where we need
- 27:24Speaker 1: him get some of those tough yards. And let's not
- 27:26Speaker 1: be afraid to go to him, man, because a lot
- 27:28Speaker 1: of times those runs are there, those cutbacks were there
- 27:30Speaker 1: for Chris. So I would love to see him get
- 27:32Speaker 1: closer that twenty carry mark, just to see him kind
- 27:35Speaker 1: of trying to wear down this really good Rams defense.
- 27:38Speaker 1: But bomb man. That final matchup, mister Dk metcalf as
- 27:42Speaker 1: Ray Roberts would say, versus Jalen Rams. He So the
- 27:45Speaker 1: first matchup went to Jalen Metcalfalian at two receptions twenty
- 27:48Speaker 1: eight yards for targets all came in second half. Last time,
- 27:52Speaker 1: DK was way more effective. Six catches fifty nine yards
- 27:54Speaker 1: and a huge third down conversion where he ran through
- 27:57Speaker 1: somebody's face, setting them called hollisters, game sealing touch down. Now, bump,
- 28:01Speaker 1: it's kind of unfair to say DK versus Jalen, right,
- 28:04Speaker 1: just because of how much zone the Rams played. Yeah,
- 28:07Speaker 1: they play zone all day. I probably saw man the
- 28:11Speaker 1: last time. The Hawks play, maybe two or three times,
- 28:14Speaker 1: and the Hawks to a good job of getting matchups them.
- 28:16Speaker 1: They'll line up K wherever DK starts off in the formation,
- 28:20Speaker 1: Jalen will be standing over him. But what the Hawks
- 28:22Speaker 1: have done, they'll motion them to the right side, they'll
- 28:24Speaker 1: move them to the slop, and Jalen's just gonna stay
- 28:26Speaker 1: where he is. All Right, I'm not gonna not gonna
- 28:28Speaker 1: follow you. I'm not gonna chase you. This is a
- 28:29Speaker 1: zone concept, and I'm not mad at that because they're
- 28:33Speaker 1: trying to get DK mashed up on safeties and outside
- 28:35Speaker 1: backers and maybe a small nickel they're trying to I
- 28:38Speaker 1: don't I don't think they're running away from Jalen Ramsey.
- 28:40Speaker 1: But it's like, look, man, if we don't have to
- 28:42Speaker 1: have that matchup every single down, why do it? Now?
- 28:45Speaker 1: There are times where you just line them up then
- 28:47Speaker 1: you gotta go. And I think when those moments presents itself,
- 28:51Speaker 1: I think DK will be ready. They both know this
- 28:53Speaker 1: is the third time they're meeting. They both know everyone's
- 28:55Speaker 1: talking about this. Jalen is a lockdown corner man. The
- 29:00Speaker 1: he did to Hopkins last week, I mean it was
- 29:02Speaker 1: it was impressive. I've seen him doing to other receivers.
- 29:05Speaker 1: But when you can stay on hopkins hip when you're
- 29:08Speaker 1: going downfield, when he's running quick games, this lets you
- 29:10Speaker 1: know how versal this guys. He's not gonna pick the
- 29:12Speaker 1: ball off. That's not what he does. He's gonna be
- 29:14Speaker 1: in your hip. He's gonna get a pass breakup, He's
- 29:16Speaker 1: gonna make the big hip. That's his game. So this
- 29:18Speaker 1: is gonna be a fun matchup to watch when they
- 29:20Speaker 1: do lineup over each other. Now, I think the Hawks
- 29:23Speaker 1: are gonna have the same game plan. They're gonna move
- 29:25Speaker 1: DK round and get him the ball in space. No
- 29:28Speaker 1: no need to be my cheesemo and say we got
- 29:32Speaker 1: the best receiver. We're gonna get that. DK's nough Pro
- 29:35Speaker 1: Bowl franchise leader when it comes to yards in the season,
- 29:38Speaker 1: I get it. But get this man the ball over
- 29:40Speaker 1: the field, yeah, no question about it. I think between him,
- 29:43Speaker 1: and we saw what we saw from Tyler Lockett last week.
- 29:45Speaker 1: I think those two guys are gonna be really crucial
- 29:48Speaker 1: and make the Rams pick their poison. What are you
- 29:50Speaker 1: gonna take away? If you're gonna put more you know
- 29:52Speaker 1: onus in the zone that decays running through, then find
- 29:55Speaker 1: Tyler Lockett, get him the rock, I think. But I
- 29:58Speaker 1: will say this time, I feel like one of those
- 30:00Speaker 1: guys is gonna have a huge game. One of those
- 30:02Speaker 1: guys is gonna this week, is gonna have closer to
- 30:05Speaker 1: the ten receptions, around one hundred yards and hopefully at
- 30:08Speaker 1: least one or two touchdowns. But Bump, we gotta figure
- 30:11Speaker 1: out how do we get this done. In the third
- 30:13Speaker 1: matchup path to Victory After forty five waits for the staff,
- 30:19Speaker 1: Michael Vickson puts it down. That kick is away. If
- 30:22Speaker 1: that kick is gone, it's gone. It's a path to victory.
- 30:28Speaker 1: On Hawk Talk. First things first, Meg Walford, if he
- 30:33Speaker 1: plays looked like a guy who's only played one game
- 30:36Speaker 1: in NFL, he cannot come out there and have the
- 30:38Speaker 1: greatest game of his life. He can't go out there
- 30:41Speaker 1: and post game talk about I dreamed of this as
- 30:43Speaker 1: a kid. We don't want that speech. No, nah, we
- 30:45Speaker 1: want him to bow out respectfully, ghostit on the sideline,
- 30:49Speaker 1: packing bags. Try to make the ball club next year.
- 30:51Speaker 1: He needs to look like a young guy. Now Jared
- 30:55Speaker 1: golf plays, We know what you gotta do. Send him,
- 30:57Speaker 1: Blitz him. He's going to turn the ball over. I
- 30:59Speaker 1: feel like he's been stuck app twenty touchdowns, twelve interceptions
- 31:02Speaker 1: for like four weeks. Now. I look up his stats
- 31:04Speaker 1: and the stat line looks the same when he comes
- 31:05Speaker 1: to that department. So make him who he is. And
- 31:08Speaker 1: if he does play and he is banged up, I'm
- 31:11Speaker 1: not saying be dirty, but I wouldn't mind some extracurriculum activity. Man,
- 31:14Speaker 1: make sure you get those QB hits to let him
- 31:16Speaker 1: know that it's going to be a rough day at
- 31:18Speaker 1: Looming Field. Yeah, no question about it. And just kind
- 31:20Speaker 1: of build off that if Wolford starts, Man Wolford, it's
- 31:23Speaker 1: a great story. Man. He's a four year starter at
- 31:25Speaker 1: Wake fours. How a bunch of stats goes undrafted? The
- 31:29Speaker 1: Jets call him. He literally was about to take a
- 31:32Speaker 1: job with some private equity firm, and then three days
- 31:35Speaker 1: later the Jets call him. He decides to go back
- 31:36Speaker 1: to the Jets. He's there for ten days, goes to
- 31:38Speaker 1: the AF place for Aaronston one on hot shots, then
- 31:42Speaker 1: comes back to the Rams practice squad. Then all of
- 31:44Speaker 1: a sudden makes some club this year is Goss back up,
- 31:47Speaker 1: wins a week seventeen game to get you in the postseason.
- 31:50Speaker 1: It's all great, anything's possible, except for Sunday. I don't
- 31:56Speaker 1: want to hear about how good of a story it
- 31:57Speaker 1: is on Sunday. It's a great story. We could write
- 31:59Speaker 1: an article, But on Sunday I want to be hearing
- 32:01Speaker 1: about the Seahawks defense dominated again, and it starts to
- 32:04Speaker 1: making us too uncomfortable. And then, man, stop the run.
- 32:07Speaker 1: Stop the run. If you stop the run and you
- 32:09Speaker 1: put the onus on those two, it's gonna be a
- 32:10Speaker 1: long day, because I mean, especially up here, the Seahawks
- 32:15Speaker 1: have won ten straight playoff games at Louman Field. I
- 32:17Speaker 1: know the fans won't be there, but there's a comfortability,
- 32:19Speaker 1: there's a swagger, there's a confidence. So stop the run
- 32:22Speaker 1: and protect Ross, Protect Russell, Wilson, bump. You gotta protect
- 32:26Speaker 1: the franchise quarterback, the guy who gets this thing going,
- 32:30Speaker 1: the protector, the leader, Russell Wilson. Keep that jersey clean.
- 32:34Speaker 1: I know they play on field turf these days. You know,
- 32:37Speaker 1: back in the day, my day, we played on grass. Baby,
- 32:39Speaker 1: that's that jersey got dirty. Keep Russell's jersey clean, and
- 32:43Speaker 1: win the turnover battle. Take care of the full ball
- 32:46Speaker 1: Russell throw for your touchdowns. I don't care if you
- 32:48Speaker 1: throw it for one, rush for two, I don't care.
- 32:50Speaker 1: Just keep the rock in the offense's hands. And then
- 32:53Speaker 1: I want to get a big ups to Jason Meyers.
- 32:56Speaker 1: Meyers taking all those field goals. Baby, we can't miss
- 32:58Speaker 1: any extra points this week, baby, all right, every time
- 33:01Speaker 1: we got a chance, I don't care if it's a
- 33:02Speaker 1: half point, all right, we need that half point. Yes,
- 33:07Speaker 1: got you. Jason Myers had miss the field goal all year.
- 33:09Speaker 1: Let's get all the points that we can. Reminder guys
- 33:11Speaker 1: who can hear us everywhere on Seahawks dot Com, Apple Podcast, Spotify,
- 33:15Speaker 1: Stitcher and Moore and Kyro Radio and seventeen ESPN Seattle's
- 33:18Speaker 1: Your Home for the Seattle Seahawks to mister Pete Carroll
- 33:21Speaker 1: Show on seventeen ESPN Seattle and nine thirty when he
- 33:23Speaker 1: joins Danny Gallant and Michael Bumpus the morning after every
- 33:27Speaker 1: Seahawks game bump postseason, it's a new season winner, go home,
- 33:31Speaker 1: Come on, Seahawks, we need this. I want to be
- 33:33Speaker 1: having a podcast talking about the divisional playoffs next week.
- 33:38Speaker 1: Let's go as playoff time. The Hawks play the Roums
- 33:41Speaker 1: for the third time this season. That's how they get
- 33:44Speaker 1: this thing done at Loumanfield. This is Hawk Talk Preview edition.
- 33:47Speaker 1: I'm Michael Bumps along with Nasa Choby. We will holler
- 33:50Speaker 1: at y'all soon
