• 0:02
Speaker 1: band squad to face France and next month's three Test series,
• 0:06
Speaker 1: including five new faces. Nick Beuley is News Talk's a
• 0:09
Speaker 1: big sports journalist and is with me now. Nick, Good morning,
• 0:11
Speaker 1: morning to your Ryan. Big surprises for you, probably.
• 0:15
Speaker 2: Just the one, and that would be Chief hooker Brody McAllister,
• 0:19
Speaker 2: who was down my way in Crusaders Country up until
• 0:22
Speaker 2: last year. I was behind the likes of Cody Taylor,
• 0:25
Speaker 2: who's in this All Black squad, and was told, you know,
• 0:27
Speaker 2: you might want to go try and get some game
• 0:29
Speaker 2: time elsewhere. Established yourself went to the Chiefs and by
• 0:33
Speaker 2: all accounts, you know from the All Blacks, Fords coach
• 0:35
Speaker 2: Jason Ryan and the All Blacks coach Scott Robertson really
• 0:38
Speaker 2: made every post a winner. And he wasn't on many
• 0:41
Speaker 2: predicted squads before midday yesterday, so he's the genuine bolter.
• 0:45
Speaker 2: The other new names, the likes of Duplassy Kadifi from
• 0:48
Speaker 2: the Hurricanes, to Mofy Tavitavana Way and Fabian Holland from
• 0:52
Speaker 2: the Highlanders and Olie Norris from the Chiefs are probably
• 0:55
Speaker 2: pretty forecast. But yeah, Brody McAllister the big surprise.
• 0:58
Speaker 1: Yeah, and on do please see could he the nearly
• 1:01
Speaker 1: a decade in Super Rugby and NPC? This is quite
• 1:03
Speaker 1: long overdue for him, isn't it.
• 1:05
Speaker 2: Yeah, he's really toiled away and had an opportunity to
• 1:09
Speaker 2: go overseas and make a fair bit of money in Japan,
• 1:12
Speaker 2: but I felt that there was unfinished business for him.
• 1:15
Speaker 2: And yeah, he's a real success story of if you
• 1:19
Speaker 2: persist and apply the what's been passed on. I suppose
• 1:23
Speaker 2: in terms of the feedback that the All Blacks coaches
• 1:25
Speaker 2: are after, you can make it. So I was really
• 1:27
Speaker 2: pleased to see deepless kreefy. These offers a point of difference.
• 1:30
Speaker 2: He's right up there in Super Rugby this season right
• 1:33
Speaker 2: in terms of the top players in terms of turnovers,
• 1:36
Speaker 2: has worked in and around the ball over the breakdown
• 1:38
Speaker 2: is second to none. So yeah, I'd like to see
• 1:41
Speaker 2: him really get a real good opportunity against France and
• 1:44
Speaker 2: the formidable loose forward trial likes of Ardi sav and
• 1:47
Speaker 2: Wallace Atini as well.
• 1:48
Speaker 1: I was reading Gregor Paul's take on this this morning
• 1:50
Speaker 1: in The Herald. What has the reaction been like from fans,
• 1:54
Speaker 1: you know, from the pundits, what are they trying?
• 1:57
Speaker 2: Well, look, Ryan, down here in Crusader's country, there's a
• 1:59
Speaker 2: few people that feel a little bit aggrieved because Ethan
• 2:02
Speaker 2: Blackadder was probably one of our best in the Super
• 2:05
Speaker 2: Rugby Final against the Chiefs on Saturday and had a
• 2:08
Speaker 2: really good back end of the season. He wasn't there.
• 2:10
Speaker 2: He's been an All Black in the past. I think
• 2:13
Speaker 2: he can consider himself one of the unlucky ones. David
• 2:16
Speaker 2: harvillly as well, the Crusader's captain not getting a nod
• 2:19
Speaker 2: there in the midfield. But look, at the same time,
• 2:23
Speaker 2: it's a very good squad and it should be tough
• 2:25
Speaker 2: to pick an All Blacks team, you know, to whistle
• 2:27
Speaker 2: it down to thirty three now the challenge for Scott
• 2:30
Speaker 2: Robinson is to get it to twenty three for a
• 2:32
Speaker 2: match day. So look, I think on the whole it's
• 2:36
Speaker 2: a very good team and one that should really push
• 2:39
Speaker 2: and really it should beat friends France, so.
• 2:42
Speaker 1: Well, that would be the goal, wouldn't it.
• 2:44
Speaker 2: Nick appreciate of course it's.
• 2:46
Speaker 1: Really news talks. He'd be sports reporter with us for
• 2:49
Speaker 1: more from early edition with Ryan Bridge. Listen live to
• 2:52
