- 0:11Speaker 1: I have butterflies. I don't have butterflies when I'm just

- 0:16Speaker 3: Yeah, we got a list celebrities.
- 0:17Speaker 4: This is a taylist.
- 0:19Speaker 2: This is the type of shit that freaking you know
- 0:21Speaker 2: shows when they're getting launched and everything like that. They
- 0:24Speaker 2: hoped to get a guest like Brendan Fraser. When Fallon launched,
- 0:28Speaker 2: he wished he got a guest like Brendan Fraser on
- 0:30Speaker 2: that episode. Same thing with Kimmel when they launched. It
- 0:33Speaker 2: were like, if we could get somebody like Brendan Fraser.
- 0:36Speaker 1: By the way, we've been saying it wrong. I'm sorry
- 0:37Speaker 1: to interrupt you, but I got yelled at on the internet.
- 0:40Speaker 1: It's Fraser. We've both been saying Fraser.
- 0:43Speaker 3: It's Fraser.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Fraser like Fraser, like Racer like Laser, Fraser Fraser. Okay,
- 0:52Speaker 1: I'm just saying I got someone was like love the
- 0:54Speaker 1: podcast act. You're all You're both saying Brendan's name wrong.
- 1:01Speaker 3: Sorry? Sorry? Do you know how many times I get
- 1:04Speaker 3: Donald Phison? Pison Pison?
- 1:08Speaker 1: What's the other? Oh, there's another phaseon, but he spells
- 1:11Speaker 1: it differently.
- 1:12Speaker 2: There's Faison love, Faison love, and then there's Frankie Faison
- 1:16Speaker 2: who spells it the same way. Right, there's a phase.
- 1:18Speaker 3: On North Carolina.
- 1:20Speaker 1: I've never been there.
- 1:21Speaker 3: White and black Faisons.
- 1:24Speaker 1: How are you guys? How's your week going? By the way,
- 1:26Speaker 1: Don Donald, did you know that Dan's nickname is Daniel?
- 1:29Speaker 1: I thought that that was just kind of a Joel joke,
- 1:31Speaker 1: but it really is his his nickname in life, Daniel.
- 1:34Speaker 3: It's a nickname? Or is that your name is Daniel?
- 1:38Speaker 1: His name is Daniel. But he's been a very long story.
- 1:40Speaker 1: He doesn't want to go into but.
- 1:42Speaker 5: Daniel, happy to do it another time, Happy to do
- 1:44Speaker 5: it another time.
- 1:45Speaker 1: No, but I'm starting to wonder if we should call
- 1:47Speaker 1: on the podcast, should be calling him Daniel because I
- 1:49Speaker 1: like to use nicknames. It makes me feel like I'm
- 1:51Speaker 1: close to someone.
- 1:52Speaker 5: Well, I would be honored if you would call me Daniel.
- 1:54Speaker 1: I might just do that.
- 1:55Speaker 3: There it is Daniel.
- 1:56Speaker 1: I'm gonna see I'm gonna see I'm gonna say it
- 2:00Speaker 1: flows because you can't force a nickname like like, you know,
- 2:04Speaker 1: I hate it when when you say someone's nickname and
- 2:05Speaker 1: you feel like I just it is not flowing out
- 2:08Speaker 1: of me, right ye.
- 2:08Speaker 3: When I was a kid.
- 2:09Speaker 2: When I was a kid, my mom was like the
- 2:12Speaker 2: the uh, not the leader of a camp, but like
- 2:14Speaker 2: the creative director at a camp. It was a camp
- 2:18Speaker 2: that had a boy season and a girl season. The
- 2:20Speaker 2: name of it was Camp at Water. It was in Massachusetts, right,
- 2:24Speaker 2: And I remember she went around a table with all
- 2:26Speaker 2: the counselors because she had to be there early to
- 2:28Speaker 2: meet all the counselors and stuff. She went around a
- 2:30Speaker 2: picnic table we were outside. I was there because I'm
- 2:33Speaker 2: there with my mom, and she's like, all right, everybody,
- 2:36Speaker 2: just give me your first your name and then you
- 2:41Speaker 2: know a nickname that people give you. So people was
- 2:43Speaker 2: going around I'm terrific Tasha, or I'm you know, stunning Steven.
- 2:48Speaker 2: And they got to this dude named Daryl and he
- 2:50Speaker 2: was like, they call me delicious Darryl.
- 2:54Speaker 3: And I remember I remember being like wow.
- 2:57Speaker 2: And and then later on Cedric the entertainer there has
- 3:00Speaker 2: a joke where you know what grown man wants to
- 3:03Speaker 2: call another grown man?
- 3:05Speaker 3: Delicious? Which better than my nickname? What was your nickname?
- 3:15Speaker 3: My father called me the great Destroyer. It's a great destroyer.
- 3:18Speaker 6: I'd be like, oh, here comes the great destroyer I was.
- 3:21Speaker 6: I had my head was constantly in the clouds, and
- 3:23Speaker 6: I had a tendency to just break things, running into
- 3:26Speaker 6: them arms like gesticulating wildly, knocking over cubs and stuff.
- 3:30Speaker 3: So, wow, that stuck destroyer.
- 3:34Speaker 1: My nickname was BIZ because it's my initials backwards.
- 3:41Speaker 3: Braf Israel Zach zactly.
- 3:44Speaker 2: So when I was a kid, so I grew up
- 3:47Speaker 2: with Terrence Howard, right, he and I. I've known him
- 3:49Speaker 2: since he was like twelve years old. As a matter
- 3:51Speaker 2: of fact, my first I took him on his first audition.
- 3:54Speaker 2: He crashed and crashed an auditioned with me, and it
- 3:58Speaker 2: wound up being like the Jackson and special and he
- 4:01Speaker 2: became you know, he's Terrence Howard.
- 4:03Speaker 3: Now, Anyway, when we would hang out when we.
- 4:07Speaker 2: Were kids, there was this dude in the neighborhood who
- 4:09Speaker 2: didn't necessarily like the fact that two acting you know,
- 4:13Speaker 2: teenagers or you know, young men were walking around hanging
- 4:15Speaker 2: out together. So he was called show Biz and I
- 4:19Speaker 2: was Hollywood. So when we come outside and be like,
- 4:24Speaker 2: here comes show biz in Hollywood.
- 4:27Speaker 1: I'm gonna start calling you Hollywood.
- 4:29Speaker 2: No no, no, no, no no no no no no
- 4:31Speaker 2: no no no.
- 4:31Speaker 4: No, no no no.
- 4:33Speaker 1: How are you? How's your life? Donald Faison?
- 4:35Speaker 3: It's good. You know.
- 4:36Speaker 2: I board in the house and I'm in the house
- 4:41Speaker 2: board you know what I mean.
- 4:44Speaker 3: Yeah, man, it's the same old stuff.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Yeah, well, you got a birthday coming up.
- 4:50Speaker 3: I do. I'm gonna be forty six.
- 4:52Speaker 2: That's fucking It'll literally be twenty years since we started Scrubs.
- 4:56Speaker 2: When we started Scrubs, I had just turned twenty six,
- 4:58Speaker 2: So it'll be twenty years this year Scrubs will have
- 5:02Speaker 2: been We will have been making Scrubs like it was
- 5:06Speaker 2: the first The first episode came out when I was
- 5:08Speaker 2: twenty six years old.
- 5:09Speaker 3: I bought you a present, No, my wife bought me
- 5:11Speaker 3: a present.
- 5:12Speaker 1: I bought you a present for both Father's Day and
- 5:15Speaker 1: your birthday?
- 5:16Speaker 3: So did my wife?
- 5:17Speaker 4: What did you get me?
- 5:18Speaker 1: I'm not going to tell you. I'm not going to
- 5:19Speaker 1: tell these all these fine folks.
- 5:21Speaker 3: Listening, but is it a donut machine?
- 5:24Speaker 1: No? Are you going to keep the donut machine. Though,
- 5:26Speaker 1: by the way, we haven't heard the update on the
- 5:27Speaker 1: donut machine.
- 5:29Speaker 3: I think I might keep the doughnut.
- 5:30Speaker 1: Yeah, of course you're going to keep the donut machine.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Will you post pictures on your on your Instagram so
- 5:35Speaker 1: so our listeners can see it?
- 5:37Speaker 2: Absolutely. I made ice cream yesterday. I made a raspberry
- 5:40Speaker 2: ice cream yesterday.
- 5:41Speaker 3: It was delicious.
- 5:42Speaker 1: Do you have an ice cream maker?
- 5:44Speaker 2: Well, there are a lot of things that you can
- 5:46Speaker 2: use to make ice cream. But I have a little
- 5:49Speaker 2: attachment that goes on my little Bellville and it's a
- 5:53Speaker 2: mixer and it's spit.
- 5:54Speaker 4: You know.
- 5:54Speaker 2: It took me two days to make ice cream. But
- 5:57Speaker 2: I made ice cream and then I made some fudge.
- 5:59Speaker 2: So it was raspberry ice cream with a little chocolate
- 6:02Speaker 2: fudge underneath. Let me tell you, they went crazy in
- 6:05Speaker 2: this household for my food. I lost some mind.
- 6:08Speaker 1: So this is a new phase for your quarantine. You
- 6:10Speaker 1: become a dessert chef.
- 6:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:12Speaker 2: You know a lot of people thought I would phase
- 6:14Speaker 2: off when it came to cooking.
- 6:16Speaker 3: I decided to phase on.
- 6:17Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, I think that the best
- 6:21Speaker 1: solution for your diet is to start becoming a dessert chef.
- 6:25Speaker 3: I think it'll be great for my cholesterol. Yeah, and
- 6:28Speaker 3: it'd be great for my It'd be great for my diet.
- 6:30Speaker 4: You know what I mean.
- 6:31Speaker 3: I am a dessert man.
- 6:33Speaker 1: I love sweets, I love sugar, I love ice cream.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Well, dude, I made fudge. Yes, to make fudge, Brownie,
- 6:39Speaker 2: you got to make fudge first. I made fudge first.
- 6:43Speaker 2: Oh my, let me take something right now, and nothing
- 6:46Speaker 2: like some homemade fudge. Oh my gosh, that is good. Listen,
- 6:50Speaker 2: that shit is good.
- 6:52Speaker 1: The people loved Scott Foley, great reaction to God.
- 6:56Speaker 3: Foley was a great guest man.
- 6:58Speaker 1: He was a great guest. Everybody loved him on there. Yeah,
- 7:02Speaker 1: and my whole timeline was nobody cares Sean. Like I'm
- 7:05Speaker 1: talking about ninety nine percent of the comments where nobody
- 7:08Speaker 1: cares Sean. Some people said nobody cares Zach.
- 7:11Speaker 3: Yeah, well I said that a couple of times.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Oh that was you, that was you commenting?
- 7:15Speaker 3: Yeah, that was me.
- 7:18Speaker 1: I thought you mad on my Instagram. I'm good, you know.
- 7:22Speaker 1: I don't know how do you answer that these days?
- 7:24Speaker 1: He just everyone just goes yeah, I don't know, staring
- 7:26Speaker 1: at the wall. I think it's crazy, you know, the
- 7:28Speaker 1: cases are all rising, you know, somebody wrote. Somebody wrote
- 7:32Speaker 1: on Twitter. I thought it was really appropriate. They said like,
- 7:35Speaker 1: so we're all just kind of got bored and just
- 7:38Speaker 1: said fuck it, because people are just going out there.
- 7:41Speaker 1: It's rising. Fauci said something like, what do you you
- 7:44Speaker 1: know people are saying like, oh, it's the second wave.
- 7:46Speaker 1: She's like, what are you talking about? This is still
- 7:48Speaker 1: the first wave. Yeah, you know, and it's spiking everywhere.
- 7:51Speaker 1: It's spiking in LA, It's spiking in so many places.
- 7:54Speaker 3: And spiking in the South. Hardcore.
- 7:57Speaker 1: Yeah, I know. So I don't know. Oh man, it's crazy.
- 8:00Speaker 1: It just feels like people went fuck it, I'm over it,
- 8:04Speaker 1: and they're just gonna they're going out. I don't know.
- 8:06Speaker 1: If you've seen all these videos of people out out
- 8:08Speaker 1: and about with no masks on. I think it's I
- 8:10Speaker 1: think it's crazy.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, everybody's gonna live their life, you know how,
- 8:17Speaker 2: They're gonna live there, you know.
- 8:18Speaker 3: And I can't.
- 8:18Speaker 2: I can't stop anyone from I can I can beg
- 8:22Speaker 2: and I can plead, and I can you know, you know,
- 8:25Speaker 2: say to that's all we can do. Please don't go out,
- 8:28Speaker 2: Please think of your fellow man, there are the people
- 8:30Speaker 2: that can't. You know, that won't be as lucky as
- 8:34Speaker 2: you are. If you are one of the lucky ones
- 8:37Speaker 2: that you know, this virus does nothing to But.
- 8:42Speaker 3: I can't. I can't. What are you gonna do.
- 8:44Speaker 2: You're gonna arrest people, what are you gonna do? Jump
- 8:46Speaker 2: on people and stop them.
- 8:47Speaker 1: I haven't, We haven't, we haven't. We haven't spoken too
- 8:49Speaker 1: much on on on about our friend Nick this podcast.
- 8:52Speaker 1: You know, Donald and I have a very good friend,
- 8:53Speaker 1: Nick Cordero. You may have heard about him in the news.
- 8:56Speaker 1: He's about as sick as someone can be, and he
- 8:58Speaker 1: was had no pre existing conditions, and he is forty
- 9:05Speaker 1: years old, and he was he was staying in my
- 9:08Speaker 1: guest house. And he's one of my best friends in
- 9:10Speaker 1: the world. He's an amazing actor. Broadcast we did a
- 9:14Speaker 1: play together. He's a wonderful actor, a wonderful singer. He's
- 9:19Speaker 1: just ind like you know, people always say this about people,
- 9:22Speaker 1: but like, honestly, he's the nicest person I've ever met, Like, like,
- 9:27Speaker 1: there is not a malicious, weird, competitive, angry cell in
- 9:33Speaker 1: his body. He's an angel of a human being. And
- 9:37Speaker 1: he was he was here, he was living in my guest,
- 9:39Speaker 1: I'll say he and his wife bought a new house
- 9:41Speaker 1: in LA. They were making the move from New York
- 9:44Speaker 1: to LA. They have a they have a one year
- 9:45Speaker 1: old baby. They were just living the American dream. They
- 9:49Speaker 1: literally bought their first house. And he went back to
- 9:50Speaker 1: New York to pack up his apartment and got COVID
- 9:53Speaker 1: so bad that he's been staying alive with the help
- 9:57Speaker 1: of machines. I don't and no one knows he's gonna
- 10:00Speaker 1: make it. He's lost his leg due to complications of
- 10:03Speaker 1: clotting and such.
- 10:06Speaker 3: His lungs.
- 10:07Speaker 1: His lungs are just Swiss cheese, they said. The COVID
- 10:11Speaker 1: just just fucking destroys the lungs. So I not to
- 10:16Speaker 1: be a Debbie downer on this show, but I haven't
- 10:19Speaker 1: been talking about it because we're here to hopefully entertain
- 10:21Speaker 1: you and take your mind off things. But if you're
- 10:23Speaker 1: headed out and you don't have a mask on, I
- 10:27Speaker 1: want you to to think about my friend Nick. Maybe
- 10:30Speaker 1: just think about it, because I think people take comfort
- 10:32Speaker 1: and going well. Worst case scenario, I'm forty, what's gonna happen?
- 10:37Speaker 1: This guy had had he was healthy, his wife's a trainer.
- 10:41Speaker 1: I mean, he's a healthy guy and uh, and he
- 10:43Speaker 1: could he could die. So I don't mean to to
- 10:48Speaker 1: to preach, and I wasn't even gonna bring this up,
- 10:50Speaker 1: but I just felt weird all of a sudden not
- 10:51Speaker 1: mentioning it.
- 10:52Speaker 6: And uh.
- 10:54Speaker 2: And you know, so while you think, while you think it's, uh, well,
- 10:59Speaker 2: everybody is out there, just you know about uh, for
- 11:06Speaker 2: all the people that are sick of this virus, just
- 11:08Speaker 2: know that this virus isn't sick of us exactly.
- 11:11Speaker 1: And and just know that, uh, you know, don't have
- 11:14Speaker 1: in your head. I think it's a shame for people
- 11:16Speaker 1: to have in their head. Oh worst case scenario. I
- 11:18Speaker 1: get it. They say it's like a really bad flu.
- 11:21Speaker 1: That's that's bullshit. That's some people. But there's also some
- 11:24Speaker 1: people like Nick who are totally healthy and have a
- 11:26Speaker 1: one year old baby and are just started walking, who
- 11:30Speaker 1: just started walking today actually, and uh and his and
- 11:33Speaker 1: he could die. I mean, we don't know. It's it's
- 11:36Speaker 1: it could go either way. So I'm sorry to open
- 11:39Speaker 1: the show with that. Donald helped me change the tone
- 11:41Speaker 1: of things by being jovial and leading us in some.
- 11:49Speaker 3: Show we made.
- 11:51Speaker 1: About a bunch of.
- 11:56Speaker 3: The story.
- 12:01Speaker 1: So Let's bring in Brendan. Everybody, Let's bring in Brendan Fraser. Donald,
- 12:14Speaker 1: don't say it like the.
- 12:16Speaker 3: Oh I should see you.
- 12:28Speaker 1: Oh man, look at this. Donald and I both admitted
- 12:32Speaker 1: to each other that we have butterflies because we don't
- 12:34Speaker 1: have fancy uh movie stars on our on our pocket.
- 12:37Speaker 1: No offense to our other guests. They're great offense.
- 12:39Speaker 3: They all did they they've all been.
- 12:41Speaker 1: Great, but they're not like Brendan level.
- 12:44Speaker 2: We just kicked it up a notch, like like like
- 12:47Speaker 2: like Emerald used to say, bay them, kick it up
- 12:50Speaker 2: a notch.
- 12:51Speaker 4: Flattery will get you everywhere.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Brandon. We we we're giddy that you're here. Not only
- 12:59Speaker 1: are we not only have we always both been fans
- 13:01Speaker 1: of your work, but when you came on the show,
- 13:04Speaker 1: it was really cool because you were by far the
- 13:08Speaker 1: fanciest guest star we had on the show. And then
- 13:11Speaker 1: you became like people's favorite storyline. And I don't even
- 13:16Speaker 1: know if you know this, but the episode where you
- 13:19Speaker 1: died is a lot of people's favorite episode of the
- 13:22Speaker 1: whole series. And so we're just we're thrilled you're here
- 13:25Speaker 1: and we want to talk about all of it.
- 13:28Speaker 2: You helped launch our you know, I don't think. I
- 13:31Speaker 2: don't know if it definitely wasn't on purpose. But our
- 13:34Speaker 2: buddy Josh Rayden, who gets spoken of every freaking episode,
- 13:38Speaker 2: his song was played at your character's funeral and because
- 13:44Speaker 2: of that his career. I mean, he travels all over
- 13:46Speaker 2: the world now and performs to packed houses. But this
- 13:50Speaker 2: was the first song that he ever wrote, and somehow
- 13:54Speaker 2: Bill used it in this episode.
- 13:57Speaker 1: This somehow is me. I said, you need a sad song,
- 14:01Speaker 1: try my buddy's first song. He had never written a song,
- 14:04Speaker 1: and we played it during your funeral episode and it
- 14:07Speaker 1: launched his career. But anyway, we let Brennan talk.
- 14:10Speaker 4: That's really nice. I mean, look, the music's important so
- 14:13Speaker 4: much in the across the arc of the whole whole show.
- 14:18Speaker 4: I mean, the choices were always spot on. They made
- 14:22Speaker 4: you feel the internal conflict even though there was you know,
- 14:26Speaker 4: this comedy that that was juxtaposed against. It's a very
- 14:32Speaker 4: serious environment. I mean, how do you make a hospital funny? Yeah,
- 14:38Speaker 4: you guys did it for many, many episodes, and I
- 14:45Speaker 4: I'm so pleased. When I've been going to comic conventions
- 14:49Speaker 4: in the last two years or so, that's a similar
- 14:53Speaker 4: thing that everyone says they're very they're moved by that episode. Now, look,
- 14:58Speaker 4: thanks for nice things you're saying to me, but you're
- 15:00Speaker 4: only as good as the company you keep and how
- 15:02Speaker 4: well it's written, and some camera things too. But I
- 15:07Speaker 4: just I should say belated thank you, like what seventeen
- 15:11Speaker 4: years later now for including me in that cast and
- 15:14Speaker 4: pulling me into the fold.
- 15:17Speaker 1: Sorry, sorry, that's okay.
- 15:19Speaker 4: I was thinking about that today too. I let's take
- 15:22Speaker 4: a walk back here. I had just finished a run
- 15:25Speaker 4: of my West End debut in London and katonahats and roof,
- 15:29Speaker 4: and I came back to La and my former wife
- 15:37Speaker 4: Afton and Krista Miller are longtime friends, and I had
- 15:41Speaker 4: not met Billbi before, but I did get on the
- 15:44Speaker 4: phone with him, and I recall saying something like he's asking,
- 15:48Speaker 4: how you doing. We want you to come and do this.
- 15:50Speaker 4: I let me see the script. I mentioned something about
- 15:55Speaker 4: feeling a little tired or jet lagged or I needed
- 15:57Speaker 4: to get back to the gym, and he said, all right,
- 16:00Speaker 4: well I'll send it over. So we sent the script
- 16:01Speaker 4: over and he sent a bunch of gym shorts, I mean,
- 16:07Speaker 4: like nice ones too, So I thought, all right, I'm in.
- 16:13Speaker 4: When one man sends another man his shorts, there is
- 16:18Speaker 4: no other love.
- 16:19Speaker 1: You know, when you're trying to get an actor to
- 16:21Speaker 1: do something, there's always the go to thing, which is
- 16:23Speaker 1: write a nice letter. But I'm gonna take I'm gonna
- 16:25Speaker 1: take Bill's Q on this and get more creative. He
- 16:28Speaker 1: sent you clothing.
- 16:29Speaker 2: Well, it just showed he was listening. Listen, man, I'm tired.
- 16:32Speaker 2: I gotta get back to the gym. Let me help
- 16:35Speaker 2: you out. There's some shorts.
- 16:36Speaker 3: I'm the script that's true.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Are you are you in town right now or are
- 16:42Speaker 2: you out of town? I know you're doing that. The show,
- 16:45Speaker 2: the superhero show, Doom Patrol, Doom Patrol?
- 16:48Speaker 1: Do you not know that? Donald I Doom Patrol and
- 16:50Speaker 1: yours superhero guy.
- 16:52Speaker 2: I was just watching the trailer for season two where
- 16:54Speaker 2: you guys are miniaturized and everything like that. I'm very
- 16:58Speaker 2: excited for it. I was really when the show started.
- 17:01Speaker 2: I was actually I watched Titans and then when they
- 17:04Speaker 2: introduced Doom Patrol through Titans and Beast Boy, I was
- 17:08Speaker 2: really excited to watch the show. And the cast is phenomenal.
- 17:12Speaker 2: You got such a really dope cast. You Matt Bonner
- 17:15Speaker 2: what's his name?
- 17:16Speaker 3: Timothy Dalton, Like it's a sick cast dude.
- 17:20Speaker 4: Tane Gerrero, Appa Bowlby season two, Let's Get out of
- 17:23Speaker 4: the Way. June twenty fifth on HBO Max The New One.
- 17:28Speaker 4: Check it out, very Excitedcdonald, Did you actually watch the
- 17:32Speaker 4: I read the comics before. I mean, this is the
- 17:35Speaker 4: first time my live action things been No.
- 17:37Speaker 2: I had not read the comic before, but I knew
- 17:40Speaker 2: it existed, but had I had never?
- 17:43Speaker 4: I had never because it's really an obscure property. It
- 17:46Speaker 4: was really kind of it was orphaned. It was done
- 17:47Speaker 4: like seven different incarnations on real prints. Yeah, and they
- 17:52Speaker 4: didn't they killed everybody off at one point they brought
- 17:54Speaker 4: them all back and then Grant Morrison did the run
- 17:59Speaker 4: that this that inspired the show. So the word surreal
- 18:03Speaker 4: gets bandied about very much in the way we speak,
- 18:05Speaker 4: but it actually borrowed from Dadaism, and you know that
- 18:09Speaker 4: what Dolly was up about surrealism in the way that
- 18:12Speaker 4: this show's inspired. A lot of the set pieces are
- 18:16Speaker 4: direct key art from the graphic novels Wow and it
- 18:21Speaker 4: and it did keep the sense of I don't know
- 18:25Speaker 4: if I want to call it it's people like to
- 18:28Speaker 4: say dark or it's serious. I think it just didn't.
- 18:32Speaker 4: It doesn't. It doesn't shy away from going to the
- 18:37Speaker 4: places that motivate brooding superhero characters and explaining really why,
- 18:42Speaker 4: and often in white knuckle detail.
- 18:47Speaker 2: So you guys, guys, you guys are very It's a
- 18:50Speaker 2: very I would say it is a dark show, like
- 18:53Speaker 2: each and every one of your origins comes from a
- 18:55Speaker 2: dark place, you know what I mean, just from your
- 18:58Speaker 2: character alone. Your character was a race car driver who
- 19:01Speaker 2: was who was like, you know, cheated on his wife
- 19:04Speaker 2: and really didn't give a shit about anybody but his daughter,
- 19:07Speaker 2: you know what I mean.
- 19:08Speaker 4: And he was I don't think he won all those
- 19:10Speaker 4: races fair and square either to.
- 19:14Speaker 2: Right, just a bad, bad dude that he dies and
- 19:16Speaker 2: gets put into a robot, and he's led to believe
- 19:20Speaker 2: that his daughter is I don't want to spoil the show.
- 19:23Speaker 4: Here, I said it, he's and and so he's struggling
- 19:29Speaker 4: to reconcile how to be a better man, except now
- 19:36Speaker 4: he's trapped in this steampunk robot body, and strangely, he's
- 19:41Speaker 4: a better human being as a robot than he was.
- 19:45Speaker 2: As a man, right right, right, and and and he's
- 19:49Speaker 2: there for his teammates. He's like in every episode, he's
- 19:52Speaker 2: the one character who's there for his teammates. He's there
- 19:56Speaker 2: for the girl with all the personalities. He's there for it's.
- 20:00Speaker 4: Crazy Jane, crazy as she's known with their sixty four
- 20:03Speaker 4: different personalities that you.
- 20:04Speaker 3: Call with superpowers too, that's a superpower. That's dope. You
- 20:09Speaker 3: could sixty four different powers. That's pretty dope. Anyway, I'm
- 20:14Speaker 3: show Brendan, did.
- 20:14Speaker 1: You read comic books when you were a kid?
- 20:18Speaker 4: I had a anthology of Superman. I tried to get
- 20:24Speaker 4: into Batman because all the cool kids did then. And
- 20:27Speaker 4: I got to be honest with you, they they kind
- 20:29Speaker 4: of think they were formidable, and they sort of scared
- 20:32Speaker 4: me a little bit. It was like listening to heavy
- 20:36Speaker 4: metal music and you're not ready for it to me.
- 20:40Speaker 4: And and so, I mean, I I like them, for sure,
- 20:43Speaker 4: but my speed was more like Dennis the Menace and
- 20:47Speaker 4: Richie rich Yeah. I read. I would read Archie, Little Archie, Yeah,
- 20:51Speaker 4: little Archie. Look Yeah, So I guess in short, no,
- 20:55Speaker 4: not really, But then I mean when this came along,
- 20:59Speaker 4: it's kind of a yeah, I would want to be
- 21:02Speaker 4: at part of this because I'm not sure if if
- 21:05Speaker 4: risks like this get taken that frequently. And I'm no aficionado,
- 21:08Speaker 4: you know, in a world of comics and that kind
- 21:10Speaker 4: of thing, but I know that it's a piece of
- 21:14Speaker 4: Donald just touched on this. That's like everyone comes from
- 21:17Speaker 4: some horrible accident that occurred to them prior to them
- 21:21Speaker 4: being introduced to its audience, our audience, and that's the
- 21:24Speaker 4: reason why that they have to build better lives through it.
- 21:27Speaker 4: Although they bicker with one another and they hate one another,
- 21:29Speaker 4: but they can't be a part and they don't function
- 21:32Speaker 4: without one another, kind of like scrubs, I should say.
- 21:35Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, the very theme song is I can't do
- 21:37Speaker 1: this all on my own. You can't do this song,
- 21:41Speaker 1: and yeah, it's about the camaraderie. You know, you had
- 21:45Speaker 1: the most epic career. I was just scrolling your IMDb
- 21:48Speaker 1: page just before you came on because I wanted to
- 21:51Speaker 1: just kind of glance at everything. I mean, you have
- 21:53Speaker 1: the kind of career that actors dream of having. You
- 21:56Speaker 1: from really cool artistic indies to the biggest tent pole
- 22:01Speaker 1: movies ever. I mean, do you when you look back
- 22:06Speaker 1: on things, is there is there a favorite or is
- 22:09Speaker 1: it all kind of like I mean, for us. I mean,
- 22:11Speaker 1: Donald and I look back at Scrubs. We haven't had
- 22:13Speaker 1: the fraction of the career you've had, but I mean
- 22:15Speaker 1: we look back and go, Okay, We've had lots of
- 22:17Speaker 1: fun experiences, but Scrubs was like one of the best
- 22:19Speaker 1: experience of our lives. Is there a project that you
- 22:20Speaker 1: look back on that and go, you know, I've done
- 22:22Speaker 1: a lot of cool things, but this one in particular
- 22:24Speaker 1: was like, holy shit, that changed my life or this
- 22:27Speaker 1: or or if.
- 22:28Speaker 4: I had to like name something that really changed my
- 22:31Speaker 4: life for better or worse, I'd have to say it
- 22:34Speaker 4: was around two thousand and sorry, like nineteen ninety nine.
- 22:37Speaker 4: It was the Mummy pictures. Everybody saw those, I mean,
- 22:40Speaker 4: and still they have a resonance. I guess it's just
- 22:43Speaker 4: you know, my done luck that the the the lore
- 22:48Speaker 4: of an Egyptian mummy wrapped up for several thousand years
- 22:51Speaker 4: looking for his girlfriend. This is an enduring theme that
- 22:54Speaker 4: we just love to do and over and over and
- 22:56Speaker 4: over again. So you know, we had that had that
- 22:59Speaker 4: that had that going for it. But if I think
- 23:02Speaker 4: of a film there that that made me feel like
- 23:07Speaker 4: it changed I worked with I worked with Michael Kane,
- 23:11Speaker 4: in Vietnam on a picture called The Quiet American and
- 23:15Speaker 4: it was a pretty good adaptation. Christopher Hampton wrote it
- 23:23Speaker 4: of the of the novel, and we shot in Vietnam,
- 23:27Speaker 4: and at that time, no Western film had been made
- 23:32Speaker 4: in Vietnam. I mean, if you saw a movie that
- 23:34Speaker 4: was a war picture or something, it was in Malaysia
- 23:36Speaker 4: or Thailand or doubled somewhere else in South Pacific for
- 23:38Speaker 4: the Jungles. But we had the good fortune and to
- 23:46Speaker 4: actually be there, and it was exciting for the reasons
- 23:49Speaker 4: that it really pushed back at as the novel did
- 23:55Speaker 4: that American foreign policy was, you know, blessed in the world.
- 24:00Speaker 4: And the reality is, no, it's not. The picture itself,
- 24:10Speaker 4: I can say confidently was put on the chopping block
- 24:13Speaker 4: by Miramax when it came out September eleventh, had transpired
- 24:17Speaker 4: it and and the I don't even want to say
- 24:22Speaker 4: his name, but the boss of that company he said,
- 24:24Speaker 4: I don't want to do anything wrong for the American people.
- 24:27Speaker 4: And we never really knew what that meant. And Michael
- 24:31Speaker 4: took the picture to Chorto International Film Festival and gave
- 24:36Speaker 4: it in an audience there, and that's when it really
- 24:41Speaker 4: started to take off, and The Washington Post wrote a
- 24:44Speaker 4: piece called let the Quiet American speak and you know,
- 24:48Speaker 4: in other words, you don't need to sugarcoat this. You
- 24:54Speaker 4: don't have to treat us like children. We should know.
- 24:57Speaker 4: I mean, these are things that we do have to
- 25:00Speaker 4: discuss that has not changed then and it had it
- 25:04Speaker 4: can't change now. I mean, so to be a part
- 25:09Speaker 4: of that, I guess I felt I was in in
- 25:16Speaker 4: good company and I felt like I had a chance
- 25:21Speaker 4: to be a part of a picture that would, you know,
- 25:23Speaker 4: in its own way change the world. Now, movies do
- 25:26Speaker 4: or they don't, and that's the hope and the aspiration.
- 25:29Speaker 4: But it did fulfill something for me that was meaningful.
- 25:35Speaker 4: And if it didn't find its audience at that time,
- 25:40Speaker 4: there's always the notion and feeling that it will do
- 25:42Speaker 4: in the future. And well, I think it still hold up.
- 25:45Speaker 1: You can have a lot of people watching it now
- 25:47Speaker 1: because it's one of yours. I haven't seen, and I'm
- 25:49Speaker 1: definitely curious, and we have a handful of people listening
- 25:52Speaker 1: to this. I'm sure we'll check it out. I loved
- 25:54Speaker 1: one of your early film school ties.
- 25:56Speaker 3: Was Yeah, I was about to say that.
- 25:58Speaker 1: Man, that movie hit me at the right man, and especially.
- 26:01Speaker 3: Being a young Jewish man that's.
- 26:03Speaker 1: Of course, and we didn't and I didn't feel like
- 26:05Speaker 1: I looked like Brendan, you know. I was like, there,
- 26:06Speaker 1: I am, look handsome. I'm being represented. But but I
- 26:11Speaker 1: mean your performance in that movie as a young actor.
- 26:14Speaker 1: I mean, I think everyone in the world was like,
- 26:16Speaker 1: you know, everyone who loves movies was like, oh shit,
- 26:18Speaker 1: look at this new guy. I thought you really really
- 26:20Speaker 1: were great in that movie.
- 26:22Speaker 3: Well.
- 26:22Speaker 4: Thanks. It was sort of the diner casting. Yeah, it's
- 26:28Speaker 4: day in a.
- 26:28Speaker 2: Way, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon. The list is ridiculous, so
- 26:34Speaker 2: many people right right right, Anthony Rat's ridiculous.
- 26:43Speaker 4: We at that time had no idea what we were doing.
- 26:47Speaker 4: We had an abundance of enthusiasm. Probably the most important
- 26:50Speaker 4: thing to us is getting the producer to provide us
- 26:53Speaker 4: breakfast in the morning before we had to play football
- 26:55Speaker 4: all day, although they did not, you know, I mean,
- 26:58Speaker 4: and and still at that time I look at it
- 27:00Speaker 4: and I think, I don't I really don't know that
- 27:02Speaker 4: much about that guy anymore. I I you know, I
- 27:06Speaker 4: just see I see I see a cast are very hopeful,
- 27:12Speaker 4: but at the same time, we all have this sort
- 27:14Speaker 4: of tenuous. Is this it kind of feeling as you
- 27:17Speaker 4: do when you're first starting out in this industry. So
- 27:22Speaker 4: but for that, rather than you know, turning inward, we
- 27:27Speaker 4: just swung for the fences and hope for the best,
- 27:29Speaker 4: for for whatever the film would would result in.
- 27:33Speaker 3: Well it was.
- 27:33Speaker 1: It was really great. Thanks, Donald and I both remember
- 27:37Speaker 1: that film. Finally, we've talked about it before. And Donald,
- 27:39Speaker 1: you also began your career in a football film.
- 27:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I did. It's called Remember the Titans. Have you
- 27:46Speaker 3: watched it yet?
- 27:48Speaker 1: No, it's on my to do Listen, I'm going to watch.
- 27:51Speaker 1: I have to tell you these are.
- 27:52Speaker 3: That's fine and and that's fine, but these are the
- 27:55Speaker 3: issues that I'm having. Now.
- 27:56Speaker 1: Let me tell you what happens on a company.
- 28:00Speaker 3: Let me finish, Let me finish. Is this because? Is
- 28:05Speaker 3: this because I didn't read Garden.
- 28:07Speaker 1: State when you Yes, Yes, that's one of the reasons.
- 28:09Speaker 2: I was in the shower and I was thinking, you know,
- 28:12Speaker 2: I've done some projects and Zach's never seen any of them.
- 28:16Speaker 1: No, I've seen a lot of them.
- 28:17Speaker 3: You've seen, dude, You've what was the.
- 28:19Speaker 1: Movie you in where where the famous rapper was a postman?
- 28:26Speaker 3: It's called Next Day. First of all, it was Next
- 28:28Speaker 3: Day Air.
- 28:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I saw second all.
- 28:30Speaker 2: The only reason why you saw Next Day Air is
- 28:32Speaker 2: because I invited you over for screening at my house
- 28:34Speaker 2: with all the producers, and that was about.
- 28:38Speaker 1: Boy who is the rapper I forgot.
- 28:39Speaker 3: He was really good.
- 28:40Speaker 2: Most deaf man Most is a good actor.
- 28:43Speaker 1: He did a good job in that movie.
- 28:44Speaker 4: I worked with Most Steph. I worked with Most Deph
- 28:48Speaker 4: once in a really obscure movie that shot and saw
- 28:52Speaker 4: Paula Brazil. It was called Journey to the End of
- 28:54Speaker 4: the Night, and he played a Nigerian dishwasher who gets
- 29:00Speaker 4: roped into running a huge suitcase of cocaine in this
- 29:05Speaker 4: sort of impossible scenario that he just can't win from.
- 29:09Speaker 4: He was so good, I mean he was what was
- 29:11Speaker 4: the name of the movie, Journey to the End of
- 29:13Speaker 4: the Night, Journey.
- 29:14Speaker 1: To I'm gonna watch that. I'm gonna watch.
- 29:17Speaker 3: Scene Bay in Journey to the End of the Night.
- 29:20Speaker 1: I'm gonna watch that too. So sorry, but Titans got
- 29:23Speaker 1: moved down another rung because I've had two more films.
- 29:26Speaker 1: Let me tell you what happens in my house. You
- 29:28Speaker 1: have dinner, you get what are we gonna watch? Tonight.
- 29:30Speaker 3: Right, I don't know if this happens days and remember
- 29:32Speaker 3: the Titans.
- 29:33Speaker 1: Now, let me tell you. I just want to know
- 29:34Speaker 1: if this happens in either any of your houses. You
- 29:36Speaker 1: have a list of like one thousand classics you want
- 29:39Speaker 1: to watch. You have a list of like your friends
- 29:42Speaker 1: movies you want to watch. You got a list of
- 29:44Speaker 1: movies you read online that everyone's talking about. And then
- 29:46Speaker 1: you get out there and you're tired, and you had
- 29:49Speaker 1: a glass of wine and you're like.
- 29:51Speaker 4: And it's HGTV time.
- 29:53Speaker 1: Yeah right, Top Chef, Top Chef, Top Chef. Listen. I
- 30:01Speaker 1: could be a cook now because I watched so much
- 30:02Speaker 1: Top Chef.
- 30:03Speaker 3: Hold on.
- 30:04Speaker 2: You said it's friend movies that your friends are in,
- 30:06Speaker 2: and you look at the classics and everything like that. Dude,
- 30:09Speaker 2: you can knock two out with one stone. It's a
- 30:11Speaker 2: motherfucking classic one two.
- 30:13Speaker 3: Your friend is in it. So dude, let's just get
- 30:16Speaker 3: to the waiting.
- 30:17Speaker 1: We're gonna do it. I'm right after quiet American. I'm
- 30:19Speaker 1: gonna do it, all right. I promise you this is
- 30:22Speaker 1: a commitment.
- 30:23Speaker 2: You're lying, but okay, you've been saying this for years.
- 30:26Speaker 2: I just want you to know that for years, listen.
- 30:28Speaker 2: We don't have to go ahead.
- 30:30Speaker 1: We don't have Brendan forever because he has to feed
- 30:33Speaker 1: his children. So I want to move quickly. We're gonna
- 30:37Speaker 1: take a quick break and we're gonna come back, and
- 30:38Speaker 1: then we're gonna go through the episode because I want
- 30:39Speaker 1: to talk. This episode has so much in it, and Brendan,
- 30:43Speaker 1: you probably don't even know this, but there's so many
- 30:44Speaker 1: things in this particular episode that that became through lines
- 30:48Speaker 1: for the whole series, including when you pick me up
- 30:51Speaker 1: and I yelled eagle, Uh, the the a cappella group, Uh,
- 30:57Speaker 1: Bob Zeltzer, you're a cancer doctor. All right, we'll be right.
- 31:01Speaker 4: Back, and we're back, and we're back.
- 31:11Speaker 1: So this episode is called My Hero and it's the
- 31:15Speaker 1: second of Brennan's three episodes. He did, Brendan, did you know?
- 31:20Speaker 1: By the way, I know you assumed you knew you
- 31:22Speaker 1: were doing too? But then, what what's the story of
- 31:24Speaker 1: of you came back? Not till season three? Did did Bill?
- 31:29Speaker 1: He couldn't have possibly see tod, Hey, we're gonna build
- 31:31Speaker 1: your character and come back in two seasons. So how
- 31:34Speaker 1: did that come about?
- 31:35Speaker 4: Yeah? I gotta, I gotta, Bill knows the answer to
- 31:38Speaker 4: that one. I mean, I had such a great time
- 31:41Speaker 4: with the to be continued to you know, to hand
- 31:45Speaker 4: or that came in the first season that I was in,
- 31:50Speaker 4: and then when he called up to do it again,
- 31:51Speaker 4: I was like, absolutely, you know you it was because
- 31:55Speaker 4: I had such a great time working you guys.
- 31:57Speaker 2: You and you and you brought something to the table
- 32:00Speaker 2: that a lot of that went on for a really
- 32:02Speaker 2: long time. Also your camera when you brought your camera
- 32:07Speaker 2: to look at this. Look, Zach has a camera just
- 32:10Speaker 2: like that.
- 32:10Speaker 1: Now I'm holding up I'm holding up my my polaroid
- 32:13Speaker 1: UH one ten a that I would not have purchased
- 32:17Speaker 1: without Brendan. So I want you know, Brendan and I
- 32:20Speaker 1: are both. Brendan Christa Miller and I are all camera geeks.
- 32:24Speaker 1: We all h collect them. But I was never into
- 32:26Speaker 1: old polaroid cameras until I met Brendan and all. And
- 32:29Speaker 1: if you guys are watching the episode and you see
- 32:31Speaker 1: him shooting all these polaroids, they that was inspired by Brendan.
- 32:35Speaker 1: Those are all his pictures you're you're looking at. And
- 32:38Speaker 1: I got so into uh polaroid photography because of you,
- 32:43Speaker 1: Brendan and I I've not like free for the twenty
- 32:47Speaker 1: years since I've seen you. I can't tell you how
- 32:49Speaker 1: many different polaroid cameras I've bought and collected. And Donald
- 32:52Speaker 1: was saying on another podcast, he goes, why do I
- 32:55Speaker 1: have so many like professional quality polaroids of myself? And
- 32:58Speaker 1: I'm like, that's because of Brendan, because Christa and I
- 33:01Speaker 1: both got so into it. We've taken so many pictures
- 33:03Speaker 1: of them.
- 33:05Speaker 4: Not of them sit in the sit in a closet
- 33:07Speaker 4: or on the shelf right now. Because the film is
- 33:08Speaker 4: so hard to find, and.
- 33:09Speaker 1: I know you can get it online if you buy.
- 33:13Speaker 1: I actually, knowing that you were coming on, I haven't.
- 33:15Speaker 1: I haven't used it in a while, but knowing you
- 33:17Speaker 1: were come on, I was like looking online to where
- 33:18Speaker 1: I can find it. Fuji still makes the film for a.
- 33:23Speaker 4: Good pack film, impossible projects another one, you know.
- 33:26Speaker 1: Yes, but for those of you who want to get
- 33:27Speaker 1: into this hobby, Fuji F P one hundred is is
- 33:31Speaker 1: the go to, right Brennan, that's the last one.
- 33:34Speaker 4: Let me just geek out. I'll put my glasses on.
- 33:44Speaker 1: Fuji F one hundred. I just gave him a shot out.
- 33:46Speaker 1: There should be a sponsor, so Brendan when you picked
- 33:50Speaker 1: me up at one thirty three in this kid's room. Now,
- 33:53Speaker 1: I can't imagine you even could could know this story,
- 33:56Speaker 1: but the fans I've watched eight seasons, no, when you
- 33:59Speaker 1: picked me up and spun me, the first thing I
- 34:02Speaker 1: say that made me laugh was I go faster. Because
- 34:06Speaker 1: the whole the whole gag is that JD is such
- 34:08Speaker 1: a nerd that at first he's like no, no, no, no no,
- 34:10Speaker 1: and then then he's like as a kid and I
- 34:13Speaker 1: and then you're spinning and you're spinning me. And on
- 34:15Speaker 1: one last take, I thought, oh, be extra doorkey if
- 34:18Speaker 1: JD pretended he was soaring like an eagle. And then
- 34:22Speaker 1: I just went eagle, which became bizarrely a huge runner.
- 34:28Speaker 1: Throughout the whole season of the series of the show.
- 34:30Speaker 1: Donald would pick me up and i'dl eagle, and it
- 34:33Speaker 1: became a running thing.
- 34:34Speaker 3: It became his what you're talking about, willis?
- 34:36Speaker 1: It became my what you're talking about? Willis? It became
- 34:38Speaker 1: my catchphrase. Run you you lifted me into my It's
- 34:42Speaker 1: like in dirty dancing doing the lift. You lifted me
- 34:45Speaker 1: into my catchphrase.
- 34:48Speaker 4: Thank you, thanks very very much. Everywhere. I particularly liked
- 34:54Speaker 4: your shower shorts, if I remember, yes correctly, the man for.
- 34:58Speaker 1: The man who has nothing to hide but still wants to.
- 35:01Speaker 4: Still want and it did have a wallet and then
- 35:04Speaker 4: you hold it out, you let it go, and there's
- 35:06Speaker 4: this sort of like sound off camera and you just
- 35:08Speaker 4: WinCE a bit.
- 35:09Speaker 1: Yeah exactly. But I mean everywhere I go in my life,
- 35:14Speaker 1: and I've been traveled all around the world, I will
- 35:16Speaker 1: have people yell eagle at me as I walk down
- 35:18Speaker 1: the street.
- 35:19Speaker 3: It's forever, It's forever.
- 35:21Speaker 1: Yeah, all because of this moment at one minute thirty eight.
- 35:25Speaker 3: And then Krista goes for a spin. I wonder if
- 35:27Speaker 3: Krista liked that. I have a feeling Krista wasn't too
- 35:30Speaker 3: fond of the spin.
- 35:31Speaker 1: I bet she liked it because it was Brendan. If
- 35:33Speaker 1: it was anybody else, she would have been like.
- 35:36Speaker 3: There's no way, there's no way.
- 35:38Speaker 1: I can't imagine a Bill writing an episode. If Bill
- 35:41Speaker 1: put any other character picks up Krista and spins her,
- 35:44Speaker 1: she would have been like, no.
- 35:45Speaker 2: No, no, no, no no no no no no no no
- 35:47Speaker 2: no no no no.
- 35:51Speaker 3: Uh tangle in my giblets.
- 35:53Speaker 1: Yeah. I laughed out loud at that. I don't like
- 35:56Speaker 1: too much freedom down there. It makes me tingle in
- 35:58Speaker 1: my giblets. I think I may have made that one up,
- 36:03Speaker 1: because I don't think Bill would have written gibletz. Brennan.
- 36:07Speaker 1: You found a way with this character to bring out something.
- 36:12Speaker 1: You know, Johnny C had yet to really warm up
- 36:15Speaker 1: to anybody. He's his character, Doctor Cox is playing. He's
- 36:18Speaker 1: such a tough alpha guy. And then with your character,
- 36:22Speaker 1: we see the friendship that that that JD in Turk
- 36:26Speaker 1: have mirrored a bit. We see, Oh there is a
- 36:29Speaker 1: guy out there who's silly and who's goofy and is
- 36:32Speaker 1: and is out there who's kind of like his JD.
- 36:37Speaker 1: If you, if you will, do you know what I mean?
- 36:39Speaker 1: Like you? You you brought out the silly side of
- 36:42Speaker 1: a guy the audience is only known as someone who's
- 36:45Speaker 1: so serious and agro.
- 36:47Speaker 4: Right he was and just just like Johnny C.
- 36:53Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, although Johnny's a smidgen nicer.
- 36:57Speaker 4: Right, absolutely heart of gold. Yeah.
- 37:03Speaker 3: Did you know Johnny before this? Had you guys worked together?
- 37:06Speaker 4: We No, we had not met before. I'd seen him
- 37:09Speaker 4: films that he'd made, and but I think I met
- 37:13Speaker 4: him on the day tell you the truth to day
- 37:16Speaker 4: there was a nail in my hand. Yeah, a board, right.
- 37:20Speaker 1: I remember that was the first episode before this.
- 37:22Speaker 4: One, correctly. I think we met like maybe three minutes
- 37:24Speaker 4: earlier than that. But it's because he doesn't take much
- 37:28Speaker 4: time to make up chair I learned. He just kind
- 37:30Speaker 4: of walks in, scrubs his head and then makes like
- 37:35Speaker 4: these sort of animal grunt noises and puts product in
- 37:39Speaker 4: it and does it again and like does like elaborate
- 37:41Speaker 4: clicking and snapping with his fingers and then he takes off.
- 37:48Speaker 4: He's good to go. I had to show up, like,
- 37:50Speaker 4: you know, an hour early with Christa, so we could
- 37:53Speaker 4: you know, get our strand by strand done just perfect.
- 37:58Speaker 1: Yeah, Donald went through Donald through Donald. Colin Farrell was
- 38:01Speaker 1: on the show, and I think it was him, right, Donald,
- 38:04Speaker 1: you didn't want any makeup, and uh, you know, because
- 38:07Speaker 1: he looks like Colin Farrell. And then Donald was like,
- 38:08Speaker 1: you know what, I'm gonna start doing that. I don't
- 38:10Speaker 1: need makeup either.
- 38:11Speaker 3: If it's good enough for Colin Farrell is good enough
- 38:13Speaker 3: for me.
- 38:14Speaker 1: And Donald Donald was like showing off, like I don't
- 38:15Speaker 1: even make up either, and then like we did one
- 38:17Speaker 1: episode in the next week, Donald was like I'm gonna
- 38:19Speaker 1: go back to the makeup.
- 38:20Speaker 4: I'm gonna go back to.
- 38:23Speaker 2: Uh, speaking of makeup, is that you in in the
- 38:27Speaker 2: in the costume all the time or do they have
- 38:30Speaker 2: a stand in for you?
- 38:31Speaker 3: Or do you have to do makeup every day like that?
- 38:34Speaker 4: Which costume? Which I've had a lot of weird ones,
- 38:37Speaker 4: and I've had some that were at all Oh for Patrol, Oh, No,
- 38:41Speaker 4: that's voiced by Riley shan I mean I'm voicing the character.
- 38:44Speaker 4: Riley Shanahan wear's the suit. He is a wonderful comedic
- 38:50Speaker 4: performer with fantastic timing, and he's full on playing the
- 38:55Speaker 4: character through a mask. Yeah, and uh he he does
- 39:02Speaker 4: the heavy lifting there. I mean, I show up in
- 39:04Speaker 4: an episode or two wearing pieces of that because, like
- 39:06Speaker 4: I said, it, it borrowed. It breaks a lot of
- 39:09Speaker 4: rules and makes its own the way the show unfolds.
- 39:12Speaker 4: But otherwise, no, I'm it's like I gotta, I gotta,
- 39:15Speaker 4: I gotta be clear with you. It's like it's like
- 39:16Speaker 4: a dream job. Somebody else wears the thing shows up
- 39:18Speaker 4: for you. In recent months, I don't even go inside
- 39:22Speaker 4: the studio, like we all know, you're sitting in your
- 39:24Speaker 4: closet right now. I've been doing a d R on
- 39:26Speaker 4: a cell phone. It's it's it's weird days. It's weird
- 39:30Speaker 4: days for a business. But on the other hand, like,
- 39:32Speaker 4: don't tell anybody this is actually prim.
- 39:35Speaker 1: I think that's the case wearing pants. I think that's
- 39:39Speaker 1: the case with I think it's the case with Mandalorian too,
- 39:44Speaker 1: you know, because that's all stuntman.
- 39:46Speaker 4: Right, yes, yeah, yeah, So I mean.
- 39:51Speaker 1: Not to talk about it though, do they did? The
- 39:53Speaker 1: producers want you to be like, no, Brennan's in the suit.
- 39:56Speaker 4: No, no way, I would never do that. That's not
- 39:58Speaker 4: fair to Riley. I I mean, and I'm fifty one. Now.
- 40:02Speaker 4: This guy is like built like a tree. And that
- 40:06Speaker 4: thing is that those robot suits and all that, all that,
- 40:09Speaker 4: like you know DC Comic and Marvel Comic, those outfitial supersuits.
- 40:12Speaker 4: They're heavy, they are superformers are really unsung heroes. I've
- 40:18Speaker 4: worked with many of I worked with them on on
- 40:21Speaker 4: I'll say the titles George of the Jungle, the guys
- 40:23Speaker 4: in the gorilla suits are amazing. They're they're I mean,
- 40:26Speaker 4: they really take Sidney and behavior seriously, and I mean
- 40:31Speaker 4: it's it's a thing back comedy, but at the same time, no,
- 40:34Speaker 4: there they were quite specific about what they needed and
- 40:36Speaker 4: how they would move as a troop.
- 40:37Speaker 1: And yeah, I mean, can you tell Donald and I
- 40:40Speaker 1: how to get in that kind of shape if we
- 40:42Speaker 1: ever wanted to try, because you're pretty ripped.
- 40:45Speaker 4: In that movie. Yeah, go back in time and eat
- 40:48Speaker 4: nothing but like broccoli and styrofoam, lift weights until you puke,
- 40:55Speaker 4: and then go wash your mouth out and keep doing it.
- 40:59Speaker 1: I was once in the gym and a gym and uh,
- 41:01Speaker 1: and Armd Schwarzeninger walked into the gym to sort of
- 41:04Speaker 1: inspect it. I guess his friend owned it or something.
- 41:07Speaker 1: And he was still the governor and he walked over
- 41:10Speaker 1: to me on the I was on one of the benches,
- 41:13Speaker 1: and uh, I don't know if he recognized me as
- 41:16Speaker 1: an actor or if he was just sort of like
- 41:18Speaker 1: talking to me as a citizen, like, hello, what's what's
- 41:21Speaker 1: your goals with your workout? And I was I was
- 41:24Speaker 1: so starstruck, and I was like, uh, oh, well, I
- 41:28Speaker 1: guess I just kind of want to look like Brad
- 41:30Speaker 1: Pitton Fight Club. And he goes and he goes, you
- 41:33Speaker 1: need to eat a lot of carrots, that's all carrots.
- 41:39Speaker 1: So for like the next two months, I was just
- 41:40Speaker 1: like fucking pounding carrots and it never happened ripped, No,
- 41:45Speaker 1: I mean it never happened. It never. I never had
- 41:47Speaker 1: a rapitt fight club orange skin.
- 41:51Speaker 3: You definitely got orange, that's for sure.
- 41:54Speaker 1: He's a lot of carrots, and then he just moved
- 41:56Speaker 1: on to somebody else.
- 41:58Speaker 4: You hit a lot of broccol league you. You eat
- 42:02Speaker 4: a lot of kumquats.
- 42:04Speaker 3: And you eat a squash.
- 42:06Speaker 7: You just he's walking around to each version in the
- 42:09Speaker 7: gym for you, broccoli for you?
- 42:23Speaker 1: How long would you train? How long would when? How
- 42:24Speaker 1: long would you train for something like that? I mean
- 42:26Speaker 1: the Mummy too. I mean, I know you're in six shape,
- 42:28Speaker 1: Like did you did you? Would you go through big
- 42:29Speaker 1: training periods?
- 42:31Speaker 4: Yeah? I think I recall it was. I mean, all in,
- 42:34Speaker 4: it's like a year if you're gonna you know, and
- 42:36Speaker 4: then you do maintenance and blah blah. But you know,
- 42:43Speaker 4: I I haven't asked about this frequently over the years,
- 42:46Speaker 4: and I really don't know the answer because everyone's body
- 42:48Speaker 4: is so different, and I almost feel reticent to say, well,
- 42:51Speaker 4: this is what I did, because then people want to
- 42:53Speaker 4: emulate or do that, and it might not be right
- 42:54Speaker 4: for them. But I guess, if i'd be honest, it's
- 42:59Speaker 4: just just just just get it over with and lift weights,
- 43:05Speaker 4: I guess. But the thing is that there's wear and
- 43:07Speaker 4: tear on your joints, your spine. I became really proficient
- 43:12Speaker 4: with ice bags, like really talk about nerdy camera geek.
- 43:16Speaker 4: I was like nerdy ice cube geek. And and uh,
- 43:22Speaker 4: you know, it's a lot to keep it's a lot
- 43:24Speaker 4: to keep up. It's a lot to ask of your body.
- 43:26Speaker 4: And I have to say with confidence that I felt
- 43:31Speaker 4: a sense of relief when it wasn't something that was
- 43:35Speaker 4: expected of me, that wasn't exactly what you know I'm
- 43:37Speaker 4: known for. Or I was happy to say that's someone
- 43:42Speaker 4: else's job right now, you know, Like and uh, and
- 43:47Speaker 4: just you know, pound back the milkshakes.
- 43:50Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, and focus on Paul.
- 43:52Speaker 3: Paul Rudd said something very similar to me.
- 43:54Speaker 2: He was like, you know, I felt great when I
- 43:56Speaker 2: was doing it. But I'm gonna tell you something right now,
- 43:59Speaker 2: I'd love to drink a milkshake right now.
- 44:02Speaker 3: I'd love something, you know what I mean. Like, You're
- 44:04Speaker 3: absolutely right.
- 44:04Speaker 2: It's like when you're doing it, you feel great, and
- 44:07Speaker 2: there's a purpose. Somebody's paying you a lot of money
- 44:09Speaker 2: to do this stuff. But really, you know, living is
- 44:13Speaker 2: a lot of fun too.
- 44:15Speaker 4: I feel it. And you know, I got to say
- 44:17Speaker 4: something psychologically, if I'm honest, I can look at those
- 44:21Speaker 4: images now and think, I see a guy who is
- 44:26Speaker 4: still insecure, who still felt like, I don't know, a
- 44:30Speaker 4: certain part of your body didn't look the proportion that
- 44:32Speaker 4: you were hoping for. Or I learned from that that
- 44:37Speaker 4: our self image is just really tied up with a
- 44:42Speaker 4: single thing, and that's confidence. If you have that, it
- 44:46Speaker 4: doesn't matter how often you go to a gym or
- 44:49Speaker 4: don't go to a gym. I really learned that it's
- 44:52Speaker 4: about the person who you are and the rest is
- 44:54Speaker 4: just decoration.
- 44:56Speaker 3: Yeah, oh I agree.
- 44:58Speaker 2: I wish I you know, I wish I had that
- 45:00Speaker 2: confidence when I go places like the beach and stuff
- 45:04Speaker 2: like that, Like I feel great in my skin at home,
- 45:06Speaker 2: I could prance around naked in front of my wife
- 45:08Speaker 2: and stuff like that, and I'm confident that I, you know,
- 45:12Speaker 2: I still feel I still feel and look sexy to her.
- 45:16Speaker 2: When you go to the beach, though, and there's a
- 45:19Speaker 2: and there's a you know, stigmatism of how everybody's supposed
- 45:23Speaker 2: to look and you don't necessarily fit that type. It's like,
- 45:26Speaker 2: wait a second. You know, I don't necessarily want to
- 45:29Speaker 2: take my shirt off and jump into the water.
- 45:30Speaker 3: Now, you know what I mean? I have I have.
- 45:33Speaker 3: I have real issues when it comes to that.
- 45:36Speaker 2: I remember working so hard to get in shape and
- 45:39Speaker 2: look a certain way, you know, when like, just like
- 45:43Speaker 2: you said, when it was time for the big reveal,
- 45:45Speaker 2: I felt like I didn't reach my goal, you know
- 45:48Speaker 2: what I mean. Then I look back at it now
- 45:50Speaker 2: and I'm like, holy shit, I looked bad, Like holy
- 45:55Speaker 2: look at that, but it never back.
- 45:57Speaker 3: I remember we talked about this on the podcast.
- 46:00Speaker 2: I just wish I could have been present when I
- 46:04Speaker 2: you know what I mean, Like there were so many
- 46:05Speaker 2: things on my mind when all the projects that I've
- 46:08Speaker 2: made before. I wish I could have just been it,
- 46:10Speaker 2: just experienced every moment, and I didn't. I was too
- 46:14Speaker 2: worried about this or too interested in something else, uh,
- 46:19Speaker 2: to really focus on you know.
- 46:22Speaker 4: And now the age that we live in, everybody has
- 46:24Speaker 4: a camera right in their pocket, and we're all privy
- 46:28Speaker 4: to one another's physiques, and it's you know, it's a
- 46:31Speaker 4: it's a it's a it's a macawbre pastime that is
- 46:37Speaker 4: available to everyone. And and you know, depending on where
- 46:41Speaker 4: you are in the world or what country part of
- 46:42Speaker 4: the country, Somewhere in the back of my mind, I
- 46:46Speaker 4: always wonder, is there's somebody with a long lens? You know,
- 46:48Speaker 4: is there a sniper.
- 46:49Speaker 3: Right where are you?
- 46:52Speaker 4: Yeah? Did that happened a lot in LA for sure?
- 46:55Speaker 1: But out of LA, is that one of the like
- 46:57Speaker 1: tell us a little bit about.
- 46:59Speaker 4: I felt relief? I mean for that reason alone that
- 47:02Speaker 4: you know, because it's it's uh, it's a place that's
- 47:05Speaker 4: that's that's uh, that's myopic in that sense. Yeah. And
- 47:09Speaker 4: you know, with distance you can get some perspective. Yeah,
- 47:13Speaker 4: which was which was helpful to me.
- 47:15Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure.
- 47:16Speaker 2: You know, my wife always says, She'll say something to
- 47:19Speaker 2: me like, you know, I'm just bigger than everybody.
- 47:22Speaker 3: And I'm like, in l A.
- 47:25Speaker 2: I mean, you're bigger than everybody in l A. And
- 47:31Speaker 2: you go anyplace else and people would be like, damn girl,
- 47:33Speaker 2: either sandwich or something, you know.
- 47:37Speaker 4: What I mean.
- 47:37Speaker 1: But I think it's good when actors get out of
- 47:41Speaker 1: New York and in l A. I mean, you have
- 47:42Speaker 1: to have reached a certain level of of stature in
- 47:45Speaker 1: the business as you have where you can kind of
- 47:47Speaker 1: be anywhere you want. But I I fantasize about that sometimes.
- 47:52Speaker 1: I don't know about you, Donald, about being able to
- 47:54Speaker 1: be somewhere that's not in the heart of the industry.
- 47:58Speaker 2: I think, well, yeah, you'd get more for your buck.
- 48:01Speaker 2: First of all, you get more, you know what I mean.
- 48:03Speaker 2: The two million dollars that you spend in Los Angeles
- 48:06Speaker 2: gets you a room with the window. You do that
- 48:09Speaker 2: ship in Montana and you got a ranch, you know
- 48:11Speaker 2: what I mean. Like, it's a huge difference. I would
- 48:15Speaker 2: I would you know.
- 48:15Speaker 1: I can't picture you on a ranch. Would you like
- 48:17Speaker 1: a ranch.
- 48:18Speaker 3: I could pick?
- 48:18Speaker 2: I could picture but listen, I could picture myself in Yeah.
- 48:22Speaker 4: I know.
- 48:23Speaker 8: But wait, Donald, I never asked you this doesn't have
- 48:25Speaker 8: to have animals on it. It just needs to know
- 48:27Speaker 8: I never, I never asked you this. If you could
- 48:30Speaker 8: live anywhere in the country that's not a New York
- 48:32Speaker 8: or LA and you could have you know, you could.
- 48:35Speaker 1: You know, money is no object. I don't mean like
- 48:37Speaker 1: some stupid epic mansion. I mean, like, you know, you
- 48:39Speaker 1: have all the money that you want to spend What
- 48:42Speaker 1: would you choose? Would you choose the Montana Ranch or
- 48:44Speaker 1: would you choose I don't know what. I can't picture.
- 48:48Speaker 1: I never asked you what your what that would be
- 48:50Speaker 1: for you.
- 48:51Speaker 2: I'm a city boy, so I'd have to live in
- 48:53Speaker 2: I'd have to find some I'd have to live in
- 48:54Speaker 2: the city. But if I, if I could live any place,
- 48:58Speaker 2: there's two places that I would love to live. One Toronto.
- 49:01Speaker 3: I love. I love the city. It's one of my
- 49:03Speaker 3: favorite cities of all time.
- 49:04Speaker 2: If I could live anywhere and have and if money
- 49:08Speaker 2: was no object, which it always is, but if it
- 49:10Speaker 2: wasn't an object, dude, I would live somewhere in Toronto
- 49:13Speaker 2: that was freaking, you know, wonderful and great either there
- 49:19Speaker 2: or I You know, I am a huge fan of London.
- 49:22Speaker 4: You know this.
- 49:23Speaker 3: It's one of my favorite cities. I do like that area.
- 49:26Speaker 1: And you're very popular there. You're like you're like, you know,
- 49:29Speaker 1: Denzel Washington of the United Kingdom.
- 49:31Speaker 2: No, I disagree. There's people like John Boyega. There are
- 49:35Speaker 2: a bunch of people from the United the United Kingdom.
- 49:39Speaker 1: You they do love you, and the people that are
- 49:43Speaker 1: listening in the United Kingdom can attest to loving Donald Faizon.
- 49:47Speaker 3: All right, how about this.
- 49:48Speaker 2: If y'all loved me in the United Kingdom like you
- 49:50Speaker 2: love Denzel or more than you love Denzel, hit me
- 49:53Speaker 2: up on Twitter and Instagram and.
- 49:55Speaker 3: Say that shit.
- 49:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna send it.
- 49:56Speaker 3: To Denzel and be like, in you face, Denzel.

- 52:07Speaker 1: He's got the et hard light. He said it better
- 52:10Speaker 1: than I do. He's got an et glowing heart light.
- 52:13Speaker 3: You feel it, you feel it.
- 52:14Speaker 1: I'm glad that. I'm almost glad that he couldn't stay
- 52:18Speaker 1: the whole time because I was looking at all my
- 52:20Speaker 1: notes about turning talking through the episode, and I'm like,
- 52:22Speaker 1: I don't want to bother Brendan by talking about doctor Zeltzer.
- 52:25Speaker 1: Right like Brendan, Brendan sitting there being like, I don't
- 52:30Speaker 1: I don't know anything about it. I don't want to.
- 52:32Speaker 1: I don't want to. I don't care that that that's that.
- 52:35Speaker 1: Rob had a big bit of medical jargon. What the
- 52:37Speaker 1: fuck do I go? The fuck? I gotta go feed
- 52:39Speaker 1: my kids?
- 52:40Speaker 2: Well, you did the whole we'd skipped over, the whole
- 52:42Speaker 2: Tony shaloup situation.
- 52:43Speaker 1: We're talking about to go back, go back. Now that
- 52:45Speaker 1: Brennan's gone, we can relax, I can breathe. I was
- 52:47Speaker 1: so nervous. I wanted to do a good job now
- 52:49Speaker 1: now it's just me. Now it's just us four. I
- 52:51Speaker 1: can I can talk about Zeltzer. I can talk about anything.
- 52:54Speaker 2: This whole tony salute thing. This was before he started
- 52:57Speaker 2: winning all the Emmys.
- 52:58Speaker 1: Huh yeah, before he started beating me every single time.
- 53:01Speaker 3: Beating you. He beat everyone, dude, he beat everyone.
- 53:04Speaker 1: I know everyone. Okay, okay, do you.
- 53:08Speaker 3: Know what that's from? Do you know what that's from? No,
- 53:10Speaker 3: you never saw the professional.
- 53:14Speaker 4: Gary.
- 53:15Speaker 1: Oh yeah, of course with now.
- 53:16Speaker 3: That Gary, Yeah, Gary Olman in we've got him upstairs.
- 53:21Speaker 3: What do you want? Bring me? Everyone?
- 53:23Speaker 2: Everyone, every.
- 53:28Speaker 1: I'm sorry. If you're listening to this podcast on earbuds,
- 53:31Speaker 1: I apologize. I will try and counterbalance it with this
- 53:34Speaker 1: soft podcast voice I have.
- 53:37Speaker 3: You don't remember that?
- 53:38Speaker 1: Do you remember that SNL sketch where they were doing
- 53:40Speaker 1: like a it was like the Sweaty Balls one.
- 53:42Speaker 3: Where they were doing like, oh my god, I can't wait.
- 53:45Speaker 1: But that was when Alec Baulm was the guest star.
- 53:46Speaker 1: But the normal show was like, yes, they talked like this,
- 53:49Speaker 1: that's fun. That's really fun. Oh, it's great.
- 53:51Speaker 6: It's been in Jerry's ice cream flavor.
- 53:53Speaker 1: Now balls mm hmm, and one of the balls of
- 53:57Speaker 1: peanut butter twelve man, I was hoping, what's your favorite
- 54:01Speaker 1: Ben and Jerry's, that we should try and get them
- 54:02Speaker 1: as a sponsor so we can get buckets and free
- 54:04Speaker 1: ice cream.
- 54:05Speaker 2: Dude, Ben and Jerry's rocks, Yo, Ben, listen, I will
- 54:08Speaker 2: pay money for Ben and Jerry's from here on out,
- 54:12Speaker 2: especially after this whole the whole black Lives Matter situation
- 54:16Speaker 2: that's been going on, when they straight up said, yo,
- 54:20Speaker 2: black lives matter. Anyone say anything else, pretty much, go
- 54:24Speaker 2: fuck yourself.
- 54:26Speaker 1: Good for them. I love it. By the way, I'm
- 54:29Speaker 1: not just saying that. I really I can't have Ben
- 54:31Speaker 1: and Jerry's in my house because I'll just snort it
- 54:34Speaker 1: like it's fucking cocaine.
- 54:36Speaker 4: WHOA.
- 54:37Speaker 3: We need to have a conversation about.
- 54:39Speaker 1: Your No, I'm just saying, imagine that when people that
- 54:43Speaker 1: have a coke problem.
- 54:43Speaker 3: I have a problem if you're snorting ice cream like.
- 54:46Speaker 1: You don't like you don't snort your ice cream. Donald,
- 54:49Speaker 1: It's only problem when you get a particularly chunky flavor
- 54:51Speaker 1: and like a a peanut buttered pretzel get stuck in
- 54:54Speaker 1: your nose.
- 54:55Speaker 3: Oh my gosh.
- 54:57Speaker 1: You I like chubby Hubby a lot.
- 55:02Speaker 3: Well.
- 55:02Speaker 1: Daniel is freaking out over there. He likes that too,
- 55:05Speaker 1: Like No Play, I can never find it, but it's
- 55:07Speaker 1: my favorite flavor. I love Chubby. I like anything basically
- 55:11Speaker 1: anything with peanut butter because I like peanut butter and
- 55:14Speaker 1: chocolate in my ice cream. I see that the milk
- 55:17Speaker 1: is the best flavory. I like them.
- 55:19Speaker 2: I'm gonna be honest with you. I'm gonna be honest
- 55:20Speaker 2: with you. I don't eat a lot of Ben and
- 55:22Speaker 2: Jerry's ice cream. That is the honest to goodness.
- 55:25Speaker 1: Is there another brand that you would have the audacity
- 55:27Speaker 1: to choose, because we're trying to get them to be
- 55:28Speaker 1: our sponsors, so don't fund this up there.
- 55:30Speaker 2: There isn't another brand that I would have the audacity
- 55:32Speaker 2: to choose. I'm just saying it hasn't been something that
- 55:36Speaker 2: I have been getting a lot of.
- 55:38Speaker 1: Oh, because you're trying to stay thin, but then you
- 55:40Speaker 1: go home and make this shit yourself.
- 55:42Speaker 3: I prefer to make my ice cream.
- 55:44Speaker 2: So if Ben and Jerry's wants to become a sponsor
- 55:46Speaker 2: and teach him up bucker how to make somebody's flavors.
- 55:49Speaker 1: Yeah, so that's what Bennger's gonna do. They're gonna come
- 55:51Speaker 1: on and teach you how to make their top secret
- 55:52Speaker 1: ice cream.
- 55:53Speaker 3: I wouldn't.
- 55:54Speaker 4: I wouldn't.
- 55:54Speaker 3: I wouldn't give it away. I would keep it for myself.
- 55:56Speaker 2: There are a bunch of There are a bunch of
- 55:58Speaker 2: things that I wish the owners of the company would
- 56:00Speaker 2: be like, all right, look, we're just gonna give you
- 56:02Speaker 2: the recipe. Keep that ship to yourself, but you can
- 56:04Speaker 2: make it at home. Krispy Kreme, Hello, teach me how
- 56:08Speaker 2: to make a donut.
- 56:09Speaker 1: What about those salts Cure pancakes.
- 56:12Speaker 3: The Salt's Cure pancakes.
- 56:13Speaker 1: Yeah, my restaurant in Los Angeles, Donald Tru.
- 56:15Speaker 3: You've never had your oh my bad? Oh yeah.
- 56:18Speaker 2: And then there's the Salt's Cure pancakes are very very tasty.
- 56:23Speaker 2: But you know where I really like the pancakes is Dupars.
- 56:26Speaker 1: Dear DuPonts.
- 56:28Speaker 3: No, no, you fuck you fu myself, motherfucker. Hold on,
- 56:34Speaker 3: goddamn it. Hold on.
- 56:35Speaker 1: I am now going back to my podcast voice to
- 56:38Speaker 1: counterbalance Donald's loud voice.
- 56:41Speaker 2: And then and then Masstros, if you could teach me
- 56:43Speaker 2: how to make that buttercake, Yo, that buttercake, that buttercake.
- 56:48Speaker 2: Mastros you remember you remember Mastros where we used to
- 56:51Speaker 2: go for steak night. Yeah, yeah, do you remember steak Night?
- 56:54Speaker 2: I know you don't eat meat anymore, but do you
- 56:56Speaker 2: remember steak night?
- 56:56Speaker 1: Of course we used to legit, go to steak Night.
- 56:59Speaker 1: It is the world's best meat. It is such a treat.
- 57:02Speaker 1: Are you going a steak Night?
- 57:04Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 57:05Speaker 1: Donald, I made that song up. I want the world
- 57:07Speaker 1: to know. That was another in addition to our theme
- 57:09Speaker 1: song with the help of Charlie Poof. A Steak Night
- 57:12Speaker 1: with no help from Charlie Poof is is an original
- 57:14Speaker 1: song by Donald Fazon and I were you going egg night?
- 57:18Speaker 3: You got it right?
- 57:20Speaker 1: Steak misteak is such it is best meat.
- 57:26Speaker 3: Steak Night.
- 57:30Speaker 1: And then we did the fucking this dance Brady Bunch dance.
- 57:33Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 57:34Speaker 1: Do you remember when the Brady Bunch did, They like
- 57:36Speaker 1: would perform. It's like a band. Like in the later episodes,
- 57:38Speaker 1: they became like a band, and that was their move,
- 57:41Speaker 1: like when it's time to change, you've got to rearrangeaanaana
- 57:53Speaker 1: that when Peter went to puberty, remember and he went
- 57:54Speaker 1: he was like and if you remember that episode, if
- 57:57Speaker 1: you're old enough to remember, he was going through puberty
- 58:00Speaker 1: and and he when he was singing his song. He
- 58:02Speaker 1: was like, when it's time to change, you've got to
- 58:04Speaker 1: real range. And they were like, oh no, what are
- 58:07Speaker 1: we gonna do? Peter's going through puberty?
- 58:09Speaker 3: What the fuck happened?
- 58:10Speaker 2: All of a sudden, the Brady Bunch were in a
- 58:12Speaker 2: band like out of nowhere. It was like Season one
- 58:15Speaker 2: The Brady Bunch, they're having a hard time coming together
- 58:18Speaker 2: as a family. Season two, The Brady Bunch, they're going
- 58:21Speaker 2: to school now things are great. Season three they're in
- 58:24Speaker 2: a band like what.
- 58:25Speaker 1: I don't know if it was season three, I don't
- 58:27Speaker 1: know either.
- 58:27Speaker 3: I'm just guessing, but out of nowhere all but it
- 58:29Speaker 3: had to be there.
- 58:30Speaker 1: Can you find out? When how many seasons in The
- 58:32Speaker 1: Pretty Bunch? Pcician, it's the same shit, Donald, it's jumping
- 58:34Speaker 1: the shark. It's like red haired Sam coming in a
- 58:36Speaker 1: different strokes. You gotta shape shit up.
- 58:39Speaker 3: They went to fucking Hawaii and jumped the shark.
- 58:41Speaker 2: Remember the Hawaii but well, of course you remember, we
- 58:46Speaker 2: get I mean, we'd use it in scrubs.
- 58:47Speaker 1: We gotta sell those teaki necklaces on our merch shop
- 58:50Speaker 1: one day, one day when iheartshits are our merch shop
- 58:55Speaker 1: going Okay, someone said that, wait, can I fucking finish
- 58:58Speaker 1: a sentence for.
- 58:59Speaker 4: The you got it?
- 59:00Speaker 3: Listen for for listen for the love of yahweh sentence
- 59:05Speaker 3: for only for yat.
- 59:06Speaker 1: Someone told me they had a good merch idea oh
- 59:09Speaker 1: that they thought when I mistakenly said sports players instead
- 59:12Speaker 1: of athletes. Someone said, please make a T shirt that
- 59:17Speaker 1: says sports players on it.
- 59:18Speaker 3: I like that.
- 59:21Speaker 1: I'd rather the fuck out of.
- 59:22Speaker 3: That sports players.
- 59:24Speaker 1: What's your last thing? Let's talk about Let's talk about
- 59:26Speaker 1: Ted's band.
- 59:27Speaker 2: Thank you, say, man, this is why I should I
- 59:30Speaker 2: should just say what I want to say, because now
- 59:32Speaker 2: it looks like I'm jumping on your coat tails.
- 59:34Speaker 3: That's what I wanted to talk about. Let's talk about
- 59:35Speaker 3: Ted's band.
- 59:36Speaker 1: Okay. Ted's band is first is introduced. In this episode.
- 59:41Speaker 1: You get to see for the second time what a
- 59:44Speaker 1: ridiculously beautiful voice our Sammy Lloyd had. And it's so
- 59:49Speaker 1: tragic to use the word had, but uh, it is
- 59:52Speaker 1: accurate to say had he This was real. This was
- 59:56Speaker 1: his friends, all his all those men, those three men
- 59:59Speaker 1: are his buddy, and they all sang a cappella with him,
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: and so we gave them, Bill gave them jobs in
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: the hospital and and formed an appella group. And as
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: I read on scrubs Wiki, it was originally supposed to
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: be the Superman theme, but they couldn't get the rights. Yes,
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: so that's how Underdog came about. I remember that would
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: have made more sense because there's a whole Superman motif.
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: But they can.
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: Remember Sam and we can sing it on here because
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: we're not gonna I don't think we'll get in trouble
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: for it, and we will cut it out.
- 1:00:33Speaker 10: But it was like three bullets of speed left behind,
- 1:00:40Speaker 10: two powerful trains turned around, one able to leap buildings, tall,
- 1:00:52Speaker 10: inner run, all in one single.
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: Bound Superman Superman. Where is Superman? Superman? Superman calling Superman
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: that human? Steve Wait these lyrics on the bye Sam
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: and his band the band.
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: Oh so the song, I mean he made me think
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: that this was the theme song had lyrics.
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: John Williams wrote this, John right, right right, so it
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: was just done right, And so they sang the whole
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: song with words I have it on my iPhone like
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: it's something that's stuck.
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: Those guys wrote those Those guys wrote it and the lyrics.
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: As I recall on Paul, one of the members of
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: the band wrote all a bunch of the the songs
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: from the musical? Did he not write the guy Love?
- 1:01:42Speaker 4: Oh?
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: I don't that. I don't know. This is a great
- 1:01:46Speaker 3: Bill Lawrence question.
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: Okay, hey, Bill, talk to us about Ted's band. Ted's
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: band and Paul from the band whose name I can't
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: quite remember right now, but we will say it in
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: this episode. Didn't he write some of the musical, including
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: the song guy Love? Because I feel like that's a
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: bit of trivia. That's that's true.
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: Also, where did you come up with the idea? I mean,
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: it's obvious, but oh.
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: I got it. Paul Perry. Sorry, sorry, guys, it's in.
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: It's Philip mcnivin or George George forgive me if I
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: don't say your name right, miserless and Paul Perry. I
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: believe it was Paul Perry. And and Bill will tell
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: us who wrote a bunch of the musical songs? Bill
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: tell us, Now.
- 1:02:31Speaker 4: Hey, guys, it's cool talking to you.
- 1:02:35Speaker 11: Look Paul Perry, who was part of Ted's band, who
- 1:02:40Speaker 11: are known as the Blanks in real life. This is
- 1:02:42Speaker 11: how Sam Woyd came into my life. He was on
- 1:02:44Speaker 11: Spin City back in the day. Is Chris Woyd's nephew.
- 1:02:46Speaker 11: He played basketball with us, Donald You played ball with him,
- 1:02:50Speaker 11: And he had this super talented a cappella band that
- 1:02:53Speaker 11: like wrote the lyrics to Superman made him up and
- 1:02:56Speaker 11: used to do it at parties and stuff, and they
- 1:02:58Speaker 11: were just so darn talented, and Paul used to do
- 1:03:02Speaker 11: all the arrangements for them, so we just started using
- 1:03:04Speaker 11: them on the show as kind of a Greek chorus
- 1:03:06Speaker 11: with commercials theme songs and TV theme songs. So fun
- 1:03:09Speaker 11: and you Paul ended up writing a bunch of the
- 1:03:11Speaker 11: songs for Guy Love and a musical on his own
- 1:03:13Speaker 11: as well, and more importantly too, the Blanks ended up
- 1:03:16Speaker 11: touring as you know, the Worthless Peons. Ted's band after
- 1:03:19Speaker 11: the show rapped doing songs from the show and the
- 1:03:22Speaker 11: theme song and their version of the theme song in
- 1:03:24Speaker 11: the finale is one of my favorites. Super talented group
- 1:03:28Speaker 11: top to bottom and man, just even talking about him
- 1:03:32Speaker 11: makes me miss Sam.
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: Thank you Bill.
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: Finally, where we're in the hospital where the three of
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: us get the hospital overnight and Ted's band's performing and
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: they do Charles in Charge.
- 1:03:44Speaker 3: Yeah, that was a great moment to a.
- 1:03:45Speaker 12: New boy in the neighborhood lives downstairs, and it's understood
- 1:03:51Speaker 12: he's there just to take good care of me, like
- 1:03:56Speaker 12: one of the family.
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: Charles was in charge. And I love that show. Didn't
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: you love that show?
- 1:04:06Speaker 3: I did? I did love that show.
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: Nicole Eggert, Nicole Eggert, Nicole Eggert A moment of silence
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: for puberty. All right, let's talk about Zeltzer. Bob Clendennon.
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: This is his first appearance. He's pretty normal in this episode.
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: Zeltzer doesn't really get that wacky yet. He doesn't really
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: fly his his his flag.
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I know, I noticed that. How about Rob
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: Mascio with the medical I know, man, most impressive.
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: He really killed that. And and then, by the way,
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: another thing that came up, there's a lot of in
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: addition to Eagle and Ted's band of premiering in this episode.
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: This was a thing that we always choked about, was
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: uh that that Rob is the best surgeon that according
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: to doctor went right that he Yeah, because he does
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: he's what does he say? He goes?
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: Well, everybody else's everybody else is thinking about uh what
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: they this dude's just thinking has nothing in his brain
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: or something.
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't forget it. Yeah, he's like, he's like done. Oh,
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: I know it is, It's done. The tiny.
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: Yeah, Rob, I say this every every episode that he's in. Man,
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: he really does not get to knock it out the
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: park man.
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: I'm it was funny. By the way, this is a
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: we go into your head at fourteen twenty one. That
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: was like out of character for the show. We go
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: into your head and uh, we hear what your thoughts are,
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: and that's how we camera spins around to see. Uh.
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: By the way, and you had jargon, but I imagine
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: you just read that ship.
- 1:05:43Speaker 3: I read that ship off the piece of paper. I'm
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: pretty sure.
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: But I heard you say that medical Giant. Does a
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: Donald read that ship?
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: He didn't remember he read that shit, right? And if
- 1:05:52Speaker 3: you know, I read that shit.
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: Tinyind So, when he's.
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: Smacking the ass of the nurse, did you notice that
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: the nurse got her ass a little perched up high
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: enough so that the gag works.
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: Yeah, of course, that's that's how you make the joke fun.
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: I don't know what she's doing. She doesn't appear to
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: be doing anything.
- 1:06:08Speaker 3: No, she's just sitting there doing nothing. That's lynn though,
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: by the way, Yeah.
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: That's our friend. That's our friend Lynn Is she? But
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: she she she doesn't. I'm just gonna scroll because I
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: have the episode open. I'm just wondering if she at
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: least is pretending to do something, because, as I recall,
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: she just looked like she was bent over. Season three,
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: episode sixteen of The Brady Bunch The Kids, The Kids,
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: they covered Casey and the Sunshine Ban.
- 1:06:32Speaker 6: It looks like it was employed for Paramount Records. They
- 1:06:34Speaker 6: were like, did it for three or four seasons?
- 1:06:37Speaker 3: I told you it was season three? See, I have
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: my shit right and everything?
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: Man, did you guess season three? Hold? You know your
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: Brady Bunch lore?
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: Though, of course I guess that ship.
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: Do you do the Brady Bunch Wiki?
- 1:06:48Speaker 3: I should do the Brady Bunch Wiki?
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: I should. You're so funny, You're like, you're you don't
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: remember the fucking most obvious shit in our relationship, and
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: then you'll be like the Brady Bunch Kids started singing
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: in nineteen seventy two. It was episode sixteen of season three.
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: All right, I want to talk about.
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: The choreographed move. Should we talk about that?
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: Yeah? That was cool? Do you remember doing that?
- 1:07:12Speaker 4: Whenever' all?
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: No, I don't all of us are doing the exact
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: same movements and it's a split screen and we're all thinking,
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: and it's all the exact same choreography. And then I
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: read on scrubs Wiki that for some reasons, Judy's was
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: backwards in terms of right left, and so they flipped her.
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: And that's why if you look Judy's name tag is
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: on the wrong side because in post her choreography wasn't right,
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: so they flipped her.
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: I I did not know that, I'm gonna be honest
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: with you. I thought this episode was gonna have way
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: more Brendan Fraser in it. To be honest with you,
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: I thought it was like a whole episode about, you know,
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: what happened to the character. I didn't know that other
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: shit went on in the hospital, so when watching it,
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: I was like, I don't remember any of this, Like
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: I know.
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: That's why I felt weird, Like I wanted to talk
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: to Brenian, but I was like, I feel bad, Like
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: I want to talk about the episode, but I don't
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: want to put a fancy Brendan through, like talking about
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: the fact that Johnny Cees wearing his actual Oakley's when
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: we do the real world.
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: Spoof, right, that's such a hilarious, so funny.
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: Right, did you see your hair?
- 1:08:15Speaker 11: Dude?
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: Your hair is amazing. I took a picture of it
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: to show my girlfriend. It's so funny. And and Johnny's
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: wearing those comedic Oakley's, but those are really his Oakley's.
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: Johnny sees the kind of guy that really would rock
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: those oak He probably still wears them. Those like wrap
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: around like wrap around Oakley's.
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: They're perfect for athletes who have to who are on
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: the go, Like if you're jogging and you have the
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: wrap around Oakley's, no sunlight gets in and they don't
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: fall off your face.
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: I don't care. I love Johnny, but I'm not wearing
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: those Oakleys. DOINALD And neither are you no matter what
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: sport you're playing.
- 1:08:44Speaker 3: Dude, you are you you let's be let's tell everybody
- 1:08:48Speaker 3: what you are.
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: You're more amazing amazing.
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: Well, dude, you know I love you, and you know
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: I think you're amazing, But you're also U. When it
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: comes to sunglasses, you're very much Uh. The was the
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: one that the aviator?
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: Yeah, or ray bands or yeah that sort of vibe.
- 1:09:05Speaker 3: Yeah, ray aviators.
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: But I wouldn't rock a colored glass wrap around Oakley.
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: That's not my vibe.
- 1:09:12Speaker 3: If you if you're playing tennis, why not.
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: I just think they look I don't.
- 1:09:17Speaker 10: I know.
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: Johnny listens, Johnny, I love you, It's just not my style.
- 1:09:22Speaker 3: Let me just start off by saying, Johnny listens.
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: Johnny listens. Johnny listens while he's weightlifting, and I know
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: he's like, oh, like pump and iron right now. I
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: don't want to be.
- 1:09:29Speaker 3: Like, fuck your brath.
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: I love my old glass probably got him on right
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: now in the gym. No, I want to talk about
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: how not only does the janitor pick a lock would
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: that isn't locked?
- 1:09:44Speaker 3: Did you notice that No, I didn't.
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: Like, no one took the time to find lockers that
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: would have even like a fake lock. It's like so
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: clearly not locked. And he takes a screwdriver and like
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: pretends to to pick a non locked locker.
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: And did you think that it was weird that you're
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: writing all of this stuff in a diary like out
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: of nowhere, like just out of nowhere.
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: I forgot all of a sudden the show's doogie howser.
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: And does that imply that all of JD's voiceovers are
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: going into a journal I never even I mean, I
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: certainly didn't play it that way for eight and a
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: half years.
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: Right, So when I saw that, I was like, wait
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: a second. So there's there's data. There's information of everyone who,
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: like somebody could go back and in a time capsule
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: or wherever you know, you pass up, passed away. There's
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: freaking stacks and stacks of diaries of everything that's ever
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: happened to JD.
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: I never really understood. And it seems that this is
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: the implication because it's a voiceover that goes right in
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: the diary that all the voiceover you're hearing is JD's journal. Now,
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: I do remember that I had a journal. I had
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: a unicorn with a sword on its head, and he's
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: there to protect my hopes and dreams. And I want
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: to show that this. I want to the record to
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: reflect this journal did not have a unicorn with a
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: sword on its head. So no one is actually my
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: hopes and dreams right now on this journal. That's why
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: the janitor is able to get in there. But I
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: thought it was funny when he said theater camp, because
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: you know that was me he really yeah.
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: But that's a that's a that I mean, I know
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: we went to Bill already, But that's another great question
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: for Bill. Are these JD's memoirs? Are we living in
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: present time when we watch the show?
- 1:11:24Speaker 3: You know what I mean? Is this something that took
- 1:11:25Speaker 3: place in the past.
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: We'll ask him, go ahead and ask him Beforeally Donald.
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: We can do a two biller.
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: Bill is scrubs JD's memoirs? Is Is it like a
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: bunch of stories that JD has compiled in a bunch
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: of books, or is this are we living in the
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: moment from moment to moment?
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: When? Yeah, because we're seeing in this episode Bill that
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: JD's writing a journal and voiceover goes right in the journal?
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: Was this a doogie howser moment?
- 1:11:51Speaker 4: Bill?
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: When do do do?
- 1:11:53Speaker 4: Do? Do?
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: Do? Do? Ahead?
- 1:12:02Speaker 11: The voiceover originally was conceived as you know, JD keeping
- 1:12:10Speaker 11: stuff in his journals, but we ditched that and just
- 1:12:13Speaker 11: kind of made it.
- 1:12:14Speaker 3: People just go with it.
- 1:12:15Speaker 11: We made it an omniscient voiceover, you know, because we
- 1:12:18Speaker 11: were always caught in his head and his thoughts, and
- 1:12:21Speaker 11: people just go with it. The same way on Modern Family,
- 1:12:23Speaker 11: and no one ever seemed to ask who was interviewing
- 1:12:26Speaker 11: that family and who was doing that documentary?
- 1:12:30Speaker 4: You know that's it.
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: Okay, we're gonna go to commercial. Everybody, and thank you
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: so much for listening. Thank you for being our listeners.
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: Our friends are our compatriots. And we're gonna be right
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: back with a question from.
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: And we are bad, and We're bad.
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: We had Brendan Fraser on the episode.
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: Pronunciation of Fraser. You didn't mess it up for the
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: first time.
- 1:13:02Speaker 3: We have Alex and what's your dad's name?
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: Corey?
- 1:13:07Speaker 2: Alex and Corey. You are now on the show from
- 1:13:12Speaker 2: two different locations.
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: Okay, welcome to fake doctors, real friends. We're so happy
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: that you're here. Thank you.
- 1:13:20Speaker 4: We're thrilled to be on with you. Guys.
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: Oh, thank you. We tell us about yourselves. We just
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: heard a little bit our producer Joelle said that you're
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: you've been watching the show in Quarantine and you're not
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: in You're in different locations, So tell us what's going on.
- 1:13:34Speaker 3: And I see Corey has a piano right next to him.
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: Corey, Corey, are you a piano player? Are you a piano?
- 1:13:38Speaker 3: Are you going to play us a little something?
- 1:13:41Speaker 5: I don't think so, but I'm a piano teacher mostly okay,
- 1:13:44Speaker 5: but I've been I'm a composer and a piano teacher.
- 1:13:47Speaker 5: So that's since I can't give lessons in my living
- 1:13:50Speaker 5: room on my grand piano, I have to give him
- 1:13:52Speaker 5: in my office on.
- 1:13:53Speaker 4: My piano over zoom it.
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: I truly wish you knew the theme song to our
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: rewatch show.
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: I love the.
- 1:14:02Speaker 5: Themes on to your Rewatch show. I think you guys
- 1:14:04Speaker 5: did a fantastic job singing it. Thank you, thank you,
- 1:14:09Speaker 5: really fantastic. I'm not so crazy about the count in,
- 1:14:12Speaker 5: but you.
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: Know you don't like we're off tempo, Corey.
- 1:14:17Speaker 5: No, I'm saying that you're covering up the first couple
- 1:14:19Speaker 5: of words because there's a there's a there's a pickup.
- 1:14:22Speaker 5: You know, there's a story. So you say five six seven,
- 1:14:26Speaker 5: seven eight, there's a story. It's kind of covering, but
- 1:14:29Speaker 5: you know it's a it's a stick now, and so
- 1:14:32Speaker 5: there's there's no way you can.
- 1:14:33Speaker 4: Change it from here.
- 1:14:34Speaker 2: You know what, I'm gonna change it when we finished this,
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: when we finished this, I'm gonna.
- 1:14:37Speaker 3: Change it just for you, just for this, just for
- 1:14:39Speaker 3: this podcast.
- 1:14:40Speaker 8: I never imagine I'm gonna go one two one, no, no, no, you.
- 1:14:45Speaker 5: Want to go five six seven. There's a story.
- 1:14:49Speaker 3: Right, I can go A five, A six, A five six.
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: You can do that, I said, I no offense, Corey,
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: but I think the fans will revolt because they really
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: loved five six, seven eight.
- 1:15:01Speaker 5: They do. They love everybody's Yeah. So, like I said,
- 1:15:03Speaker 5: it's it's probably ingrained and there's not someing do about it.
- 1:15:06Speaker 5: But it's it's just every time that habits, it just
- 1:15:08Speaker 5: kind of bothers.
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: It irks you. All right, Well, I'm sorry, Donald, I'm
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: doing it for you.
- 1:15:12Speaker 3: I'm doing it for.
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: You, Jory, Corey, tell us how you and Alex started
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: watching the show and was this your first time through? Alex,
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: why don't you tell us since Corey's getting all the
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: screen time?
- 1:15:21Speaker 9: Yeah, oh no, it's it's okay. I I mean the
- 1:15:24Speaker 9: reason why I wanted us to come on is because
- 1:15:26Speaker 9: Father's Day come is coming up, and I said, for
- 1:15:28Speaker 9: dad for a gift, come on the show.
- 1:15:30Speaker 3: But so you don't have to pay for anything. I
- 1:15:33Speaker 3: see how you do it. I see how she's a.
- 1:15:35Speaker 9: Car I'm the favorite daughter.
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: Now here we go.
- 1:15:43Speaker 9: No, So I think I can't remember who started watching
- 1:15:46Speaker 9: the show first, if it was my dad or myself.
- 1:15:48Speaker 9: This is not our first time in Quarantine. I would
- 1:15:50Speaker 9: say I've seen every episode of the show multiple multiple times,
- 1:15:54Speaker 9: and I think the same as for my dad. But
- 1:15:56Speaker 9: we really bonded over our love of the show. I
- 1:15:58Speaker 9: think we watched it separately and then came together and
- 1:16:00Speaker 9: realized we were both watching it. And we like quiz
- 1:16:04Speaker 9: each other on Little Scrubs, Gervia Facts a lot, and
- 1:16:07Speaker 9: it's just something that we've really bonded over. Is our
- 1:16:09Speaker 9: love for the show.
- 1:16:10Speaker 7: It for you guys.
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: We love that, we love families that watch together, and
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: you know, also people finding it. What's been crazy about
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: this new era of streaming. You know, the show used
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: to be on Netflix, now it's on Hulu. Is that
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: more generations keep finding it? And I think that's really
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: that's really cool. It kind of keeps on going.
- 1:16:26Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, I don't know if I watched it when
- 1:16:30Speaker 5: it first came on. What year was the first season?
- 1:16:32Speaker 5: Do you know what?
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: E thousand and one, one, two and one?
- 1:16:36Speaker 3: I was gonna say nineteen ninety nine.
- 1:16:38Speaker 5: No, I don't know, but but I do own the
- 1:16:41Speaker 5: complete collection of DVDs, So I'm hoping that you guys
- 1:16:44Speaker 5: got a little bit of money for me purchasing that
- 1:16:46Speaker 5: way it's.
- 1:16:46Speaker 3: A sore subject. It's a sore subject.
- 1:16:48Speaker 4: We don't talk about it.
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: Well, well, we don't talk about that, but I can
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: tell you that you're if you listen to DVDs, you'll
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: have all the exact real music. You won't have any
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: weird You're the only people with DVDs are the ones
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: with no musical replace.
- 1:17:01Speaker 5: It was a it was a real good purchase for me.
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: Great, Thank you so much. All Right, do you guys
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: have a question for for Donald or for I or for.
- 1:17:09Speaker 5: Going to go first?
- 1:17:09Speaker 9: I'm gonna go first. Well, let me just start by saying,
- 1:17:13Speaker 9: I'm I'm so thrilled to be here you guys, I am,
- 1:17:16Speaker 9: I am shaking, I'm like very excited. I know huge
- 1:17:20Speaker 9: fans of you, guys.
- 1:17:22Speaker 3: Donald.
- 1:17:22Speaker 9: I just have to mention that last night, my fiance
- 1:17:25Speaker 9: and I rewatched my favorite of your movies, I think,
- 1:17:28Speaker 9: which is Remember the Titans.
- 1:17:31Speaker 3: Yes, okay, yes, thank you, thank you.
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: You know what you know who has never seen Remember
- 1:17:36Speaker 2: the Titans.
- 1:17:39Speaker 3: It's Zach Brath.
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: Well I'm gonna watch.
- 1:17:41Speaker 3: We had a conversation at them. Thank you for bringing
- 1:17:44Speaker 3: this up out a conversation.
- 1:17:46Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 1:17:47Speaker 2: We had a conversation at the beginning of this episode,
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: and Zach's like, it's on my to do list.
- 1:17:52Speaker 3: It's on my to do list.
- 1:17:53Speaker 2: Listen, man, I've seen every one of his projects, even
- 1:17:56Speaker 2: the ones that didn't come out in theaters, even the
- 1:17:59Speaker 2: ones that and straight to video.
- 1:18:01Speaker 3: I've seen everything that Zach Braff has been in. I
- 1:18:03Speaker 3: can count them all on this hand, right here.
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: All of them. I thought it was about sports players,
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: and I didn't think that I would like it. But
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: I love Donald, I love Denzel, and I love Rudy.
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: So if it's anything like Rudy.
- 1:18:16Speaker 3: Do you like Ryan Gosling?
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: Yes, I think he's wonderful.
- 1:18:19Speaker 3: He's in it. Yeah, do you like what Harris.
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: I think of it. I think of it as Rudy's
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: in it. I feel like it's Rudy with Donald Fazon.
- 1:18:26Speaker 12: Is that?
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: Is it like that?
- 1:18:27Speaker 2: No, it's not the Are you the Rudy?
- 1:18:31Speaker 3: Freaking are you the Rudy?
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: Because if so, I'm fucking watching that ship tonight.
- 1:18:35Speaker 3: I have a Rudy moment. I have a Rudy moment.
- 1:18:37Speaker 3: Watch the damn movie.
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: Okay, don't run for it, all right, let's just put
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: it up.
- 1:18:41Speaker 3: Let's just put it like this, let's put it like this.
- 1:18:43Speaker 2: Let's put it like this, Ryan Gosling is fing up
- 1:18:50Speaker 2: the whole time.
- 1:18:51Speaker 3: And I save his ass. Let's just put it that way.
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: Okay, I'm gonna think about it, all right, go ahead.
- 1:18:56Speaker 3: All right, right, So my question is thank you for
- 1:18:59Speaker 3: watching Alex of course.
- 1:19:00Speaker 4: Of course.
- 1:19:01Speaker 9: So one of the things that's just so incredible about
- 1:19:04Speaker 9: the show in general is the way that you can
- 1:19:07Speaker 9: mix the comedy and the silliness of the show with
- 1:19:09Speaker 9: some of these like more dramatic or serious moments that
- 1:19:12Speaker 9: sort of center around the theme of loss. Right, And
- 1:19:14Speaker 9: I know you just had Brendan Fraser on and that's
- 1:19:16Speaker 9: a really big sort of plot point in the show
- 1:19:20Speaker 9: for Doctor Cox, but of course with the loss of
- 1:19:22Speaker 9: John Ritter too. So I'm wondering if you guys could
- 1:19:24Speaker 9: talk a little bit about what it was like to
- 1:19:25Speaker 9: go through the experience of acting on a really highly
- 1:19:28Speaker 9: comedic show and then have to sort of transition to
- 1:19:31Speaker 9: these pretty serious storylines where the characters are experiencing death
- 1:19:35Speaker 9: and loss of some pretty important people in their lives,
- 1:19:38Speaker 9: including patients as well.
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: Well, I'll tell you there were times where I didn't
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: think it was going to work.
- 1:19:41Speaker 4: There were.
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: There were plenty of times where I thought, this is
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: like a hairpin turn in a car. How are you
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: going to go from me doing something so silly? And
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: then I walk into this patient's room and I'm just
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: dropping in for this dramatic moment, and I really have
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: to say, it's a testament to the writing and to
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: build He found a way to make it work. I mean,
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: there were only twenty two minutes without commercials, so sometimes
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: you'd read them and go, how can you be in
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: this weird fantasy and then drop in for this moment
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: where we have tears in our eyes. And I think
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: we just always tried to play it real. Obviously, this
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: fantasies were heightened and some of the physical comedy was heightened,
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: but we always tried to deal with the patient moments
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: like they were completely played straight. And I think of
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: the show Mash a lot, because when I grew up,
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: we were watching Mash and it had a laugh track
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: on it. But when they went into the surgical when
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: they were operating on the soldiers, there was no laugh track,
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: even though there'd still be some humor. It was just
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: sort of a choice they made, And I often think
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: of that in scrubs. It was almost like there were
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: moments when the silliness stopped and we just dropped in
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: to play totally straight how a doctor would be with
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: it with a sick patient. So I don't know, I think,
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: what do you think, Donald? I think it was just
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: a matter of really good writing, to be frank.
- 1:21:00Speaker 2: Absolutely that, And thank goodness that there were you know,
- 1:21:02Speaker 2: that we were able to cut in between scenes and
- 1:21:04Speaker 2: stuff like that.
- 1:21:05Speaker 3: And it wasn't you know, if this.
- 1:21:07Speaker 2: Were a play or something where there aren't any cuts
- 1:21:11Speaker 2: in it, it would be very You're absolutely right, it'd
- 1:21:13Speaker 2: be very hard to be funny, funny, funny, funny funny
- 1:21:16Speaker 2: and then switch on a you know, turn on a
- 1:21:18Speaker 2: dime and now we're gonna be serious. Thank goodness that
- 1:21:21Speaker 2: we had cuts, you know, and different scenes edited together
- 1:21:25Speaker 2: for that. Uh, this would have been a way more
- 1:21:28Speaker 2: challenging show this if everything was done on one in
- 1:21:32Speaker 2: one take and you having to ride that emotional rollercoaster.
- 1:21:36Speaker 2: I think, you know, as any actor will tell you,
- 1:21:39Speaker 2: those are the most difficult scenes where you're starting off
- 1:21:42Speaker 2: like cause usually you work yourself up on days when
- 1:21:44Speaker 2: I have like a dramatic scene, I'll work myself up
- 1:21:47Speaker 2: and I'll get to the point where you know, I'm
- 1:21:49Speaker 2: on the verge of crying. And so now I don't
- 1:21:51Speaker 2: have to act that much to get to the tears.
- 1:21:55Speaker 2: If I had to be funny and laugh and joke
- 1:21:58Speaker 2: around and everything like that and then move into the
- 1:22:02Speaker 2: dramatic and uh, the sadder side of the scene without
- 1:22:06Speaker 2: a cut, I don't know how I would be able
- 1:22:09Speaker 2: to do it. It would be such a challenge for me.
- 1:22:11Speaker 2: So thank goodness for uh the takes and editing.
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: Also, it all comes down to good writing. I mean
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: you can make you can.
- 1:22:19Speaker 4: You know.
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: There's a movie Once I really love. I don't know
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: if you have ever seen.
- 1:22:24Speaker 3: Yeah, great movie.
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: But one of the thing about Once is like Once
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: is the ultimate example of like, if you have a
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: great script, you don't need that movie. That movie looks
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: like it's shot on an iPhone. No disrespect to the cinematographer.
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: I mean it's brilliant. But I mean if if you
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: have a great script and great actors, you can you
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: can make anything, anything work, and uh, and uh, you know,
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: it's all, it's all. It all comes down to great writing.
- 1:22:48Speaker 4: Is that?
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: Thank you?
- 1:22:49Speaker 3: Falling slowly.
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: Love that movie?
- 1:22:56Speaker 3: Check out once I suffered.
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: We have a lot of a lot of movie recommendations,
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: Quiet American once and remember the Titans. All right, Corey,
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: do you have a question for the legendary Donald Faison?
- 1:23:09Speaker 3: Where's Zach Braf?
- 1:23:11Speaker 5: I do so for me. I love the fantasy sequences
- 1:23:14Speaker 5: in the show. I mean, right from the beginning there
- 1:23:17Speaker 5: were such funny you know, and I think my two
- 1:23:20Speaker 5: favorite ones are when the character Alex you know, says,
- 1:23:24Speaker 5: how would you feel if you know I told you
- 1:23:26Speaker 5: I was ready now to have sex? And the marching
- 1:23:28Speaker 5: band comes from crashing in your other monkey and the
- 1:23:32Speaker 5: monkey with the cymbols, Oh my god. And I also
- 1:23:35Speaker 5: love memorable gets in later seasons when somebody is trying
- 1:23:40Speaker 5: to teach Elliott and tasty Como wife a dance. I
- 1:23:44Speaker 5: get Alex told me it was the rewind dance. Then,
- 1:23:49Speaker 5: oh man, and Elliott is so badad dead dance. She
- 1:23:53Speaker 5: does such a fantastic job of being horrible at that,
- 1:23:56Speaker 5: flapping her hands and kicking her leg at the wrong time. Oh,
- 1:24:00Speaker 5: very funny. Anyway, So I was just thinking about I
- 1:24:03Speaker 5: wonder if there were any fantasy scenes that were like
- 1:24:06Speaker 5: pitched or written or even filmed that just didn't make
- 1:24:10Speaker 5: it into the show that you remember. It's probably pretty tough.
- 1:24:14Speaker 5: It's been a long time.
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: That's a very good question. I don't know, Donald, you know,
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: that might have to be our third ask Bill.
- 1:24:20Speaker 3: I think we're gonna have to ask Bill a third
- 1:24:22Speaker 3: time on this.
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: This is like you know that show Millionaire when you
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: get we should you should only be allowed a certain
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: amount of like ask a friend, call a friend at
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: all the audience like, oh, I.
- 1:24:32Speaker 5: Think you're okay, I would give you a password calling Bill?
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: All right, So we're gonna ask Bill a third time.
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: I hope you can squeeze in a third one. Were
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: there any fantasy's Bill that that that didn't make the cut?
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: Do you have any memory of of anything we shot
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: in a wacky fantasy that was never in the show?
- 1:24:50Speaker 11: You guys are watching these shows again. I can't remember
- 1:24:52Speaker 11: any I'm so old. I can't remember any fantasy scenes
- 1:24:56Speaker 11: that were cut, except one that Gaby Allen always wanted
- 1:24:59Speaker 11: to do. If fantasy about newsies. You know, extra Exter
- 1:25:02Speaker 11: read all about it, and I think we shot that
- 1:25:04Speaker 11: and cut it because no one understood it. It wasn't
- 1:25:06Speaker 11: a huge fan of musical theater.
- 1:25:09Speaker 3: Miss you guys, love you both.
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: Thank you, Bill, I don't one thing you often the
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: fantasies took a lot of time and money. Yeah, so
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: I feel like they were rarely cut because it was
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: kind of where budget was getting thrown. You know. Sometimes
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: they would be really elaborate and take a lot of
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: time and money. So usually they probably wouldn't be unless
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: something went wrong with them and they weren't funny.
- 1:25:30Speaker 5: And I can see that some of them took a
- 1:25:33Speaker 5: long time to make and it was like eight seconds.
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that's all.
- 1:25:36Speaker 5: It was just eight seconds, but you had to spend
- 1:25:38Speaker 5: all day at bakeup.
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: Oh yeah, oh yeah. Some of them were so elaborate
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: and they would take forever to do and then it'll
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: be fully quick.
- 1:25:45Speaker 5: But they're just the laugh out loud parts of the show.
- 1:25:48Speaker 5: And I love a TV show that just makes me
- 1:25:49Speaker 5: laugh out loud but also has that serious All my
- 1:25:52Speaker 5: favorite shows have that the laugh out loud.
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: What are some of your other shows that you love?
- 1:25:56Speaker 5: Well, Freaks and Geeks is probably one of my favorite shows.
- 1:25:58Speaker 3: Yeah, great show.
- 1:26:00Speaker 5: Yeah, and also Gilmore Girls is that way too. They
- 1:26:04Speaker 5: don't very serious subjects, but there's some really good laugh
- 1:26:07Speaker 5: out loud stuff on that for that show.
- 1:26:09Speaker 3: They talk really fast on Gilmore Girls.
- 1:26:11Speaker 4: They love.
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: They're both they're incredibly witty. All right, well, thank you guys.
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: You're our very first father daughter Colin and and and
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: we're very we're very happy that you guys are bonding
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: through our show.
- 1:26:27Speaker 2: Because ladies and gentlemen give a big round up applause
- 1:26:31Speaker 2: for Alex and Carl.
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: Oh my god, Oprah does not sound like that. You
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: sound like Oprah on fucking crack right now.
- 1:26:38Speaker 3: No, I don't sound like Oprah on crack.
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: I sound like if Oprah took a fucking hit, a
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: crack rock. All right, you guys, thank you, thank you,
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: thank you God making us argue in front of all
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: the guests. We argued in front of Corey and Alex,
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: we argued in front of Brandon. The hell's wrong with you?
- 1:26:59Speaker 2: I'm trying to see what it sounds like. I'm trying
- 1:27:01Speaker 2: to in my head if Oprah did crack?
- 1:27:04Speaker 3: How like.
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: Sounds like that?
- 1:27:08Speaker 2: Although, listen, there's one commercial and Oprah got it right. Well,
- 1:27:13Speaker 2: she gets a lot of things right, but it's one
- 1:27:15Speaker 2: of them Weight Watchers commercial.
- 1:27:16Speaker 3: It's my favorite commercial ever.
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: It's your favorite commercial. Ever it's an Oprah week.
- 1:27:21Speaker 3: Yeah, because she starts off like this, This is the
- 1:27:24Speaker 3: joy for me.
- 1:27:27Speaker 2: I love bread, my favorite commercial.
- 1:27:35Speaker 4: Dude.
- 1:27:36Speaker 2: Yeah, but who doesn't listen. I spent a lot of
- 1:27:39Speaker 2: time in quarantine.
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: Yeah, you love bread.
- 1:27:41Speaker 3: Do you know what I love more than anything? Right now,
- 1:27:43Speaker 3: I'm noticing bread. I love bread.
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: I love bread.
- 1:27:51Speaker 2: She doesn't do it like that. She goes down with it.
- 1:27:53Speaker 2: It's not bread, it's bread.
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: All right, Thank you everybody for tuning in. We've done it.
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: We went through the show. We had wonderful guests.
- 1:28:04Speaker 2: What I have one thing Underdog, great song at the
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: end of the show. One Ted's band that's on their record,
- 1:28:10Speaker 2: also Underdog. And then I feel like we tied the
- 1:28:14Speaker 2: story up really quick in this episode, you know what
- 1:28:17Speaker 2: I mean.
- 1:28:18Speaker 3: I think we ran out of time.
- 1:28:19Speaker 2: To be honest with you, it feels like we ran
- 1:28:21Speaker 2: out of time on this episode. At the end of
- 1:28:24Speaker 2: the episode, things tie up really quick. We don't even
- 1:28:26Speaker 2: go through the whole chemo process with Brenda's character. We
- 1:28:31Speaker 2: go right into oh, you know what, chemo worked and
- 1:28:34Speaker 2: it went right and the cancer went into remission. Yeah,
- 1:28:37Speaker 2: it feels like we had to tidy up a little
- 1:28:39Speaker 2: bit so we could move on with the story.
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: It's a lot, It's a lot. It's a lot too.
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: First of all, he was only signed on for two
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: episodes in and you know it's twenty two minutes with credits.

- 1:29:13Speaker 1: They can do both. They could, they can do follow.
- 1:29:15Speaker 2: Us one point four million followers Donald Faizon myself, who
- 1:29:19Speaker 2: I am?
- 1:29:19Speaker 3: I do not have one million.
- 1:29:21Speaker 1: But you don't have to bring this up every episode.
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: People are gonna think you have a hang up about it.
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: They're gonna be like, I don't want to follow that dude.
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: He's got a hangou about this ship. You know what.
- 1:29:27Speaker 1: To spite him, I'm gonna unfollow him.
- 1:29:29Speaker 2: Well, would you know if those are people out there
- 1:29:33Speaker 2: that are like that, then you know that's understandable and
- 1:29:35Speaker 2: I'm not gonna you know, hold you at fault for that,
- 1:29:38Speaker 2: but you know my goal is to one day reach
- 1:29:41Speaker 2: the legendary status of Zach Braff on Instagram and have
- 1:29:45Speaker 2: one point four million followers.
