- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, third hour. Clay and Buck, that's going right now.
- 0:03Speaker 1: Thank you so much for being here, everybody. We've been
- 0:05Speaker 1: doing a lot of talk today about the latest on
- 0:09Speaker 1: the midterm elections and the key races, keeping very close
- 0:15Speaker 1: tabs on this today. Obviously, Paxton, Tallarico, Houston, Sherrod Brown, Collins,
- 0:23Speaker 1: Jackson in Maine, Rogers, El Sayed in Michigan, Iowa. We
- 0:27Speaker 1: got Hinson v.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Turek.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Hinson's going to win that, by the way. Kansas, I
- 0:32Speaker 1: hope I didn't just jinx it. The Kansas Senate Marshall
- 0:35Speaker 1: versus Hamilton. I think Kansas is also going to be fine. Ohio,
- 0:40Speaker 1: we talked about that a bit. Ramaswamy versus Acton for
- 0:44Speaker 1: the governor's race. And then Georgia, governor's race. We've got
- 0:47Speaker 1: a lot of big races, big things going on. Clay,
- 0:49Speaker 1: that brings us to Alaska, where you and I, are
- 0:56Speaker 1: going to have to go running with the grizzly bears
- 0:57Speaker 1: at some point, which I hear is even more exciting
- 0:59Speaker 1: than running with the bulls and, uh, riskier.
- 1:03Speaker 3: Way, way more dangerous.
- 1:04Speaker 4: I was going to say, yeah, probably, probably tougher.
- 1:07Speaker 1: I would, I would definitely, if you had, if you
- 1:09Speaker 1: had to give me a headstart 30 yards, which by
- 1:12Speaker 1: the way, I get smoked. I don't think I have
- 1:15Speaker 1: any illusions here. I'm going to get caught by the bull.
- 1:17Speaker 1: I'm going to get caught by the bear, but you're
- 1:19Speaker 1: much better off with a 30 yard headstart on an
- 1:21Speaker 1: angry bull than you are a, uh, a grizzly bear. Um,
- 1:26Speaker 1: I think they actually could probably go faster than the
- 1:28Speaker 1: bull over that distance, 30 or 40 yards. They are
- 1:31Speaker 1: extremely fast over a very reasonable distance. Elite animal athletes. Yeah,
- 1:36Speaker 1: elite animal athletes. It's like 800 pounds of muscle, teeth,
- 1:40Speaker 1: and claws. So anyway, up in Alaska, there are also people,
- 1:45Speaker 1: not just grizzly bears, and there's a state there, and
- 1:47Speaker 1: there's voting happening, and you got the Sullivan v. Peltola
- 1:52Speaker 1: situation playing out.
- 1:53Speaker 5: Now.
- 1:56Speaker 4: It's Clay.
- 1:57Speaker 1: The pollsters are saying this one's 50 50, which means
- 1:59Speaker 1: this is it probably is leaning a little bit real
- 2:03Speaker 1: Dan Sullivan, not fake Dan Sullivan, probably leaning a little
- 2:07Speaker 1: bit real Dan Sullivan. But it is going to be
- 2:08Speaker 1: a nail biter. And it's one that we have to
- 2:11Speaker 1: when we have to pay close attention to.
- 2:13Speaker 4: Yes, sir.
- 2:14Speaker 2: We know we talked about the fact that polling 15
- 2:17Speaker 2: out of the last 16 election cycles has favored Democrats
- 2:21Speaker 2: and Republicans have outperformed Democrats. Maybe the most difficult state
- 2:26Speaker 2: to predict at all is Alaska, according to people who
- 2:30Speaker 2: are Democrats and Republicans. So many of the voters are
- 2:35Speaker 2: in remote locales that it is difficult to reach. You
- 2:39Speaker 2: don't know who's going to show up, candidly. And I
- 2:44Speaker 2: think even by difficult prediction standards, Alaska is at the
- 2:49Speaker 2: absolute apex of difficulty.
- 2:52Speaker 1: But it's going to be tight is the bottom line.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Get out and vote, of course, Alaska. I think we're
- 2:57Speaker 1: on K, E, and I. I think up there we're
- 2:59Speaker 1: on some great stations. So get out and vote in Alaska.
- 3:03Speaker 1: And then you can go fishing. OK, then you can
- 3:06Speaker 1: catch the end of the salmon run, which probably is
- 3:09Speaker 1: already over.
- 3:09Speaker 4: I don't even know.
- 3:10Speaker 1: But it was happening pretty recently. This is also fodder
- 3:14Speaker 1: for our discussion here from CNN over the weekend. Todd Blanche,
- 3:17Speaker 1: the attorney general, who I haven't seen him in this
- 3:21Speaker 1: kind of a debate situation before, really, you know, with
- 3:24Speaker 1: Congress and stuff and Democrat lunatics, but. He was on
- 3:27Speaker 1: CNN with Dana Bash and they were talking Alaska ballot situation,
- 3:33Speaker 1: specifically the decoy Dan confused people operation. The Democrats are running.
- 3:39Speaker 1: And just to be clear, it is utterly shameless that
- 3:42Speaker 1: there is no person you will not get. Even the
- 3:45Speaker 1: most propagandistic Democrat mouthpiece is not going to pretend that
- 3:50Speaker 1: anyone thinks decoy Dan, fake Dan Sullivan, so to speak,
- 3:55Speaker 1: is going to win this thing. He is in explicitly
- 3:58Speaker 1: and clearly as a spoiler candidate and a candidate of confusion.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Not just a spoiler in, oh, I'm another guy on
- 4:05Speaker 1: the ballot, but I'm a guy on the ballot who's
- 4:07Speaker 1: meant to get votes, meant for the other guy on
- 4:09Speaker 1: the ballot that you were trying to vote for. Todd
- 4:12Speaker 1: Blanche and Dana Bash got into it over a whole
- 4:16Speaker 1: range of things here, but this is one of them.
- 4:18Speaker 4: Play 19.
- 4:19Speaker 6: I just fundamentally disagree with you. The conversation that you
- 4:23Speaker 6: and I have been having for the past 10 minutes
- 4:25Speaker 6: has nothing to do with the fact that Alaskans, as
- 4:27Speaker 6: not found by President Trump, Alaskans are going to go
- 4:30Speaker 6: to the ballots potentially confused. OK, which is not something
- 4:34Speaker 6: that's allowed to happen in this country. So instead of
- 4:36Speaker 6: focusing on how we can address that and how we
- 4:38Speaker 6: can remedy that. You're talking about January 6th, okay? And
- 4:42Speaker 6: that's so embarrassing to this network that that's what you're
- 4:45Speaker 6: talking about.
- 4:45Speaker 7: Oh, come on.
- 4:46Speaker 6: Oh, come on, me.
- 4:47Speaker 5: Why in Alaska?
- 4:48Speaker 4: Why in Alaska?
- 4:48Speaker 3: There's literally confusion.
- 4:50Speaker 6: You haven't once uttered the fact that there's no dispute
- 4:53Speaker 6: that this candidate's on the ballot to confuse voters.
- 4:58Speaker 1: That is true, by the way. I mean, we can
- 5:00Speaker 1: all see the plain reality in front of our face. But, Clay,
- 5:03Speaker 1: I still don't see... I haven't yet seen and I
- 5:07Speaker 1: could be wrong. I'm certainly not an election law expert.
- 5:09Speaker 1: I'm not even a lawyer.
- 5:11Speaker 4: But I I haven't seen how they can stop this guy.
- 5:16Speaker 4: How do they.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Stop what they tried? Yeah, but this is what I mean.
- 5:20Speaker 1: On what legal grounds could they prevent it at this point?
- 5:24Speaker 1: I don't think they can.
- 5:26Speaker 2: This is why it's such a diabolical plan, because it
- 5:31Speaker 2: went through the Alaskan court system and was permitted to occur.
- 5:36Speaker 2: And everything they've done in Alaska is designed to confuse people.
- 5:41Speaker 2: So the decoy Dan Sullivan, and again, for everybody out there,
- 5:46Speaker 2: the Dan Sullivan that is the incumbent is the one
- 5:49Speaker 2: that you want to vote for. The entire ranked choice
- 5:53Speaker 2: voting system is confusing. They have used Alaska as an
- 5:58Speaker 2: election laboratory that is designed consistently to benefit Democrats. And
- 6:05Speaker 2: in the name of good governance, some people were snookered
- 6:09Speaker 2: into supporting this process, which is very confusing, the ranked
- 6:13Speaker 2: choice voting. And this is, again, I think the best
- 6:17Speaker 2: word for it is diabolical, because it may well be
- 6:21Speaker 2: legal under existing election law, both state and federal, to
- 6:28Speaker 2: pull this off. And if it comes down, as it
- 6:30Speaker 2: may well, to a few thousand votes... Control of the
- 6:35Speaker 2: Senate could hinge on whether enough people accidentally vote for
- 6:40Speaker 2: the wrong Dan Sullivan. And they tried, Buck, even more diabolically,
- 6:45Speaker 2: they tried to change his initial so that he had
- 6:48Speaker 2: the exact same name. And they weren't able to do
- 6:52Speaker 2: it because he didn't have the exact perfect name. I mean,
- 6:55Speaker 2: it sounds I know we've had this with the Eddie
- 6:57Speaker 2: Murphy distinguished gentleman movie. This is entirely that being played
- 7:03Speaker 2: out to potentially impact who has control of the United
- 7:06Speaker 2: States Senate come January.
- 7:09Speaker 1: I just the truth is here, as gross as it is,
- 7:14Speaker 1: the real basis for removing him and this to Clay's point,
- 7:17Speaker 1: it already failed the effort to try to remove him.
- 7:20Speaker 1: The basis for removing him would have been on a,
- 7:24Speaker 1: this is a bad faith candidacy, and you can't empower
- 7:29Speaker 1: people if you meet the legal requirements. This is why
- 7:32Speaker 1: this is so, to borrow your word, diabolical. If you
- 7:35Speaker 1: meet the legal requirements that you're being a jerk and
- 7:39Speaker 1: you don't actually have any interest in running, winning, or serving,
- 7:43Speaker 1: can't be a basis to remove you. So I don't
- 7:46Speaker 1: think the courts got as much as no one wants
- 7:48Speaker 1: to hear. I don't think the courts got this wrong.
- 7:50Speaker 1: I just think Democrats are scumbags.
- 7:51Speaker 4: I think that's where we are.
- 7:53Speaker 2: And by the way, this is not just in Alaska.
- 7:57Speaker 2: The Democrat brand is so toxic in much of red
- 8:00Speaker 2: state America that Democrats are contending by running. independence that
- 8:07Speaker 2: they are going to have caucus with the Democrat Party.
- 8:11Speaker 2: But so many normal voters out there across red states
- 8:16Speaker 2: see the Democrat Party is so toxic that they will
- 8:18Speaker 2: not vote for a Democrat. So they're trying to hide
- 8:21Speaker 2: it by saying, I'm not a Democrat. I'm an independent.
- 8:24Speaker 2: And then they'll immediately caucus with the Democrats, which makes
- 8:27Speaker 2: the functional difference non-existent.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Yeah, they're openly independent. They're running a game of three
- 8:33Speaker 1: card money. I mean, they're they're they're trying to fool
- 8:36Speaker 1: voters here. They're trying to obscure and then fool. And
- 8:40Speaker 1: of course, you know, three card money is a scam, right?
- 8:42Speaker 4: They're cheating you. That's the whole that's the whole nature
- 8:44Speaker 4: of that. I feel like they don't do they do
- 8:45Speaker 4: that anymore.
- 8:46Speaker 7: This used to be a.
- 8:47Speaker 4: Thing in New York.
- 8:47Speaker 1: They have the cards out on the on the cardboard
- 8:49Speaker 1: and you pick the card. You always got the wrong card.
- 8:51Speaker 1: I don't think they do anymore. I think they got
- 8:53Speaker 1: rid of that. It's like something you'd see from an
- 8:56Speaker 1: 80s-era movie showing a rough part of New York City
- 8:59Speaker 1: or Times Square area.
- 9:01Speaker 2: The squeegee guys, too. You would know this better than me.
- 9:03Speaker 2: They're gone now, right?
- 9:05Speaker 7: Oh, yeah.
- 9:05Speaker 1: I remember that as a kid. I remember the squeegee
- 9:07Speaker 1: stuff happening all the time to my parents' car. So, yeah,
- 9:10Speaker 1: that was a real thing. But back to this one, Clay.
- 9:12Speaker 1: So the Trump administration, just to bring it up to
- 9:14Speaker 1: the most legal and current situation, for the Alaska Senate election,
- 9:19Speaker 1: the Trump administration is bringing a.
- 9:24Speaker 1: Suit against Alaska to block certification of results if Senator
- 9:30Speaker 1: Sullivan loses, meaning the current Senator Sullivan, loses by a
- 9:34Speaker 1: margin smaller than the other Dan Sullivan's votes pending an
- 9:39Speaker 1: investigation into possible voter confusion. I don't think they're going
- 9:45Speaker 1: to win this lawsuit either if it does come to that.
- 9:49Speaker 4: I hate this.
- 9:49Speaker 1: Look, I think it's as dirty as everybody else. But
- 9:55Speaker 1: it's like they're allowed to do it. You know, it's
- 9:58Speaker 1: a little bit like... I don't know what's like the
- 10:01Speaker 1: dirtiest legal thing you can do in sports right now.
- 10:03Speaker 1: I was going to say icing the kicker, but everybody
- 10:05Speaker 1: ices the kicker with a timeout. That's not really, you know,
- 10:07Speaker 1: that's kind of standard now.
- 10:09Speaker 7: Right?
- 10:09Speaker 1: Do you think, I think that's a little lame to
- 10:11Speaker 1: be honest with you, but people do it. Um, what
- 10:14Speaker 1: is the dirty gamesmanship?
- 10:15Speaker 2: That's well within the rule. I mean, what a lot
- 10:17Speaker 2: of people would say is, uh, you used to be like,
- 10:21Speaker 2: you paid all the players in college under the table.
- 10:24Speaker 2: Now it's all above the table, right? So that form
- 10:27Speaker 2: of quote unquote cheating has, uh, has vanished in college athletics.
- 10:32Speaker 2: I think a lot of people would probably say that, um,
- 10:35Speaker 2: It's giving money outside of the salary cap in pro
- 10:39Speaker 2: sports where you're wink, wink, nudge, nudge. I think a
- 10:43Speaker 2: lot of the salary cap stuff is being cheated. That's
- 10:44Speaker 2: an example. But how do you stop that? And you're
- 10:48Speaker 2: sliding advantages to high-level players outside of the salary cap.
- 10:53Speaker 4: I'll take a little bow here.
- 10:54Speaker 1: As the non-professional sports slash SEC sports analyst, I'll draw
- 10:59Speaker 1: upon my tennis experience. You know what a gross but
- 11:04Speaker 1: legal thing is in tennis? Faking injury timeout. And players
- 11:09Speaker 1: have complained about it. Because on the one hand, there's
- 11:12Speaker 1: like this video of, I think it was Michael Chang
- 11:14Speaker 1: a long time ago. He was a great American, you know, Taiwanese-American,
- 11:18Speaker 1: American tennis player. like rolling around on the floor in
- 11:22Speaker 1: agony because he was cramping up everywhere.
- 11:24Speaker 4: That was a.
- 11:25Speaker 3: Big thing in football, too.
- 11:26Speaker 2: Your team's having things go against you.
- 11:29Speaker 3: You drop and fake a cramp or you fake an injury.
- 11:32Speaker 4: But he was really, I mean, he really was.
- 11:34Speaker 1: And it looks so bad because no one went out
- 11:36Speaker 1: to help him because it was just the middle of
- 11:37Speaker 1: the match. And so he just was rolling around. So
- 11:39Speaker 1: they changed it. So now, Clay, they can just sort
- 11:42Speaker 1: of say an injury. And tennis is very momentum-based and
- 11:46Speaker 1: very psychological. And sometimes a player is like, oh.
- 11:49Speaker 4: Like my shoulder hurts so much now. And then all
- 11:52Speaker 4: of a sudden they're gone.
- 11:53Speaker 2: You also may get illegal coaching via hand signals during
- 11:57Speaker 2: the breaks too, right? And you're not supposed to coach
- 11:59Speaker 2: from the stands, right?
- 12:00Speaker 4: I think you can. I think they changed that because
- 12:03Speaker 4: it was happening so much.
- 12:04Speaker 2: Yeah, because guys were given secret signals, you know, like,
- 12:08Speaker 2: serve down the line.
- 12:09Speaker 4: Yeah, of course.
- 12:10Speaker 1: But so it's in that realm of like, it's gross,
- 12:13Speaker 1: but I don't see how you can legally delegitimize this.
- 12:19Speaker 1: within the rules because i mean that's and i know
- 12:21Speaker 1: people don't want to hear that but i think it's
- 12:23Speaker 1: just true so the only way you can delegitimize it
- 12:25Speaker 1: is clay.
- 12:26Speaker 2: Get out and vote right now this matters even more
- 12:30Speaker 2: in alaska which is a state where targeting voters is
- 12:34Speaker 2: challenging let me say this too why i think early
- 12:38Speaker 2: voting for republicans matters so much democrats have the advantage
- 12:42Speaker 2: of So many of their voters are condensed in a
- 12:46Speaker 2: close location. I don't think people talk enough about this.
- 12:49Speaker 2: It's a way easier to get out the vote in
- 12:52Speaker 2: a city because you can go into a building where
- 12:55Speaker 2: a thousand people live and rally them all at that
- 12:59Speaker 2: physical location. So many Republicans are rural that a ride
- 13:03Speaker 2: to the polls in a Republican location is far more
- 13:06Speaker 2: difficult to organize effectively for cost than it is for Democrats.
- 13:12Speaker 2: So if you can get your ballot locked and loaded
- 13:16Speaker 2: in advance, like Buck and I did, it makes a
- 13:19Speaker 2: tremendous difference. And Buck, you were saying that so far
- 13:22Speaker 2: it seems about three to one, the shaming is positively
- 13:26Speaker 2: received as opposed to negatively. I am shaming everyone to
- 13:29Speaker 2: go vote early. Get your ballots banked in states where
- 13:33Speaker 2: you can. Some votes, like New Hampshire, everybody votes on
- 13:36Speaker 2: Election Day and they basically don't allow any early ballots.
- 13:40Speaker 2: So if your state doesn't allow it, I'll give you
- 13:42Speaker 2: a pass. Otherwise, Buck and I are better Americans than you.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Well, I just say it's sad for me when I
- 13:47Speaker 1: think Clay is about to be lambasted by all of you.
- 13:50Speaker 4: And instead, he is saluted. And that's what's going on
- 13:53Speaker 4: right now.
- 13:53Speaker 2: Including producer Ali, by the way, Buck, who just said
- 13:56Speaker 2: off air, I'm going to go vote early now because
- 13:59Speaker 2: you've been giving everybody such a difficult time about getting
- 14:02Speaker 2: out and voting early.
- 14:03Speaker 3: So there you go. We've working on the show, working
- 14:06Speaker 3: on all of you.
- 14:08Speaker 2: And I want to tell you about our friends at
- 14:10Speaker 2: Incogni and how much of a difference they can make
- 14:12Speaker 2: when it comes to protecting your information, which otherwise may
- 14:15Speaker 2: be all out there on the Internet for everyone to
- 14:18Speaker 2: see your home address.
- 14:19Speaker 3: It's kind of scary, isn't it? Your home address. People
- 14:22Speaker 3: can find it.
- 14:24Speaker 2: They can find basically any information that they need about you.
- 14:27Speaker 2: And online data brokers will sell it. I have lived
- 14:30Speaker 2: through this. and seen what the impact can be. I
- 14:34Speaker 2: type my own name into people's search sites. The amount
- 14:37Speaker 2: of information that's out there is crazy. Same thing for Buck,
- 14:42Speaker 2: and this is what Incogni is designed to do. They
- 14:44Speaker 2: send requests to remove your personal information, including your home address,
- 14:49Speaker 2: to more than 420 data brokers and people's search sites.
- 14:53Speaker 2: Then they keep sending them because these sites will pull
- 14:56Speaker 2: your info and put it right back up even after
- 15:00Speaker 2: you have asked them to take it down. You don't
- 15:02Speaker 2: fill out a single form. You don't make a single call.
- 15:05Speaker 2: Incogni handles the removal process for you. 30-day money-back guarantee.
- 15:10Speaker 2: They can't harm you if they can't find you. Go
- 15:13Speaker 2: to incogni.com slash clay for 60% off.
- 15:18Speaker 3: Let me repeat that.
- 15:19Speaker 2: I-N-C-O-G-N-I. That's incogni.com slash clay. One more time, incogni.com slash Clay.
- 15:32Speaker 4: Smart, fun, sane commentary. The Clay and Buck Show. Stick around.
- 15:38Speaker 2: More is coming up just the way you'd expect it.
- 15:42Speaker 4: How about that?
- 15:43Speaker 3: Welcome back in, Clay and Buck.
- 15:45Speaker 2: John in Virginia says you can't vote early because your
- 15:48Speaker 2: vote won't be counted.
- 15:49Speaker 3: John, make your argument.
- 15:52Speaker 5: Well, your vote might not be counted, and if you
- 15:55Speaker 5: do vote early, they know how many people have voted,
- 15:57Speaker 5: and they just have Trump loads of votes sitting up
- 15:59Speaker 5: in northern Virginia to counteract it. Why vote early? At
- 16:04Speaker 5: least on the day of the vote, we can make
- 16:06Speaker 5: a massive turnout, and they have to reckon with just
- 16:09Speaker 5: the visual of people voting.
- 16:13Speaker 3: I appreciate the argument.
- 16:14Speaker 2: What I will tell you is my wife works at
- 16:18Speaker 2: the local polling place near our home. um they are
- 16:24Speaker 2: seeing record high turnout in the tennessee race races and
- 16:29Speaker 2: tennessee is not exactly a battleground state um i am
- 16:33Speaker 2: telling you that the way that we vote here my
- 16:35Speaker 2: ballot i make it they print it off so i
- 16:39Speaker 2: can directly look at it confirm that everything that i
- 16:42Speaker 2: selected is correct and then i go and i insert
- 16:46Speaker 2: it myself and the ballot says you you see the
- 16:50Speaker 2: number tick up uh Your point, if they are going
- 16:54Speaker 2: to cheat, if they are going to manufacture votes, then
- 17:00Speaker 2: what we saw on 2020, if you believe that late night,
- 17:04Speaker 2: suddenly Milwaukee and Detroit and other battleground states were manufacturing ballots,
- 17:10Speaker 2: they're going to get to whatever number they think they
- 17:12Speaker 2: need to get to, regardless of when you vote. I
- 17:16Speaker 2: actually have faith. in the election process, relatively speaking. And
- 17:22Speaker 2: I think 2024, after what happened in 2020, Buck, I
- 17:27Speaker 2: think we cleaned up a lot across much of the country.
- 17:31Speaker 3: Should the SAVE Act be passed? Yes. Should it be
- 17:33Speaker 3: standard everywhere?
- 17:34Speaker 4: Yes.
- 17:35Speaker 2: But given where I vote, where you vote, I am
- 17:39Speaker 2: confident that elections are becoming far more secure post-2020 than
- 17:44Speaker 2: I was during 2020, if that makes sense.
- 17:49Speaker 4: It does indeed make sense.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Here's the downside to that argument that the caller just made.
- 17:53Speaker 2: The end result is basically a lot of people are
- 17:56Speaker 2: not going to go vote because they think that the
- 17:57Speaker 2: rig job is in effect, which actually depresses the turnout,
- 18:01Speaker 2: is my concern.

- 19:01Speaker 1: Mary Margaret, great.
- 19:02Speaker 4: To see you.
- 19:05Speaker 7: Hey, guys. It's great to be here.
- 19:08Speaker 4: Well, thank you. We think so, too.
- 19:10Speaker 1: You were with the vice president in Alaska recently. We
- 19:14Speaker 1: were just talking about that Alaska race. I was wondering
- 19:17Speaker 1: if you could give us a little more insight onto,
- 19:19Speaker 1: first of all, the political atmospherics you saw when you
- 19:22Speaker 1: were there with the vice president and also any insight
- 19:26Speaker 1: into just what you think is going on behind the
- 19:29Speaker 1: scenes here, how you think this is going to shake
- 19:32Speaker 1: out Dan Sullivan versus fake Dan Sullivan versus the other person.
- 19:36Speaker 7: It's just a different animal from, you know, a lot
- 19:39Speaker 7: of the state's When we went up there, I was
- 19:42Speaker 7: talking to a lot of people trying to get a
- 19:44Speaker 7: sense for what was going on because Vance went up
- 19:46Speaker 7: there before Donald Trump did. So while he's up there,
- 19:49Speaker 7: he's courting this vote. He's trying to get people to
- 19:52Speaker 7: come out and support Republicans. And just looking around the crowd, guys,
- 19:57Speaker 7: it was so interesting to see the people who are there.
- 19:59Speaker 7: They are fishermen, they're builders, they're miners. They're just people
- 20:03Speaker 7: who are working what a lot of us would say
- 20:05Speaker 7: are like the real jobs out there that are so
- 20:08Speaker 7: important for Alaskan infrastructure. So just getting out and talking
- 20:13Speaker 7: to them, you realize their priorities are absolutely the economy, affordability,
- 20:18Speaker 7: but also they're really fixated on the military and they really,
- 20:21Speaker 7: really don't want men and women's sports or women's spaces.
- 20:24Speaker 7: And for Alaskans, that often comes down to like women's shelters,
- 20:28Speaker 7: for example, because they have a lot of people fleeing
- 20:31Speaker 7: domestic abuse who are seeking refuge in these women's shelters.
- 20:34Speaker 7: If there's a trans dude that's seeking refuge in a
- 20:38Speaker 7: that is fleeing a domestic abuser is going to end
- 20:40Speaker 7: up in a situation potentially worse than she might have
- 20:44Speaker 7: found at home. So a lot of these issues resonated
- 20:47Speaker 7: really strongly with these people. And what I heard from
- 20:50Speaker 7: them talking to them when Vance came was that they
- 20:51Speaker 7: were just so invigorated by his visit and then so
- 20:55Speaker 7: invigorated by the president's visit the following week. And they're
- 20:59Speaker 7: just so on fire when they have these candidates that
- 21:02Speaker 7: come up to them and speak to them And it
- 21:04Speaker 7: was interesting to hear Dan Sullivan speak because he seems
- 21:07Speaker 7: like a genuinely good person. He seems like a genuinely
- 21:10Speaker 7: good human being. And I think when you have someone
- 21:13Speaker 7: that is a really decent person, they're not always the
- 21:17Speaker 7: most aggressive or scary rhetorically politician. And so when Vance
- 21:25Speaker 7: got up there and started slamming Mary Peltola, who's Dan
- 21:28Speaker 7: Sullivan's opponent, A lot of people were turning to each
- 21:31Speaker 7: other and be like, yes, this is really good. And
- 21:33Speaker 7: I was with some local reporters who looked at me
- 21:35Speaker 7: and were like, yes, this is what we needed because
- 21:38Speaker 7: they didn't feel like Dan Sullivan really had that oomph
- 21:41Speaker 7: when it came to attacking her. And Vance did. And
- 21:43Speaker 7: same with Donald Trump. So I think it gave some
- 21:46Speaker 7: really needed energy up there and really drove home the
- 21:49Speaker 7: point that, you know, the president and both Vance made,
- 21:52Speaker 7: which was Dan Sullivan has been consistently here for you.
- 21:55Speaker 7: Dan Sullivan is going to continue fighting for you. And
- 21:57Speaker 7: as Vance said, don't look at what Mary Peltola says
- 22:00Speaker 7: here at the end of her campaign. Look at what
- 22:03Speaker 7: she's done. And for example, she's misrepresented her record on
- 22:07Speaker 7: a number of occasions, including when it comes to men
- 22:09Speaker 7: and women's sports. I broke a story a couple of
- 22:11Speaker 7: years ago at the 2024 election that she flip-flopped on
- 22:15Speaker 7: men and women's sports. She had literally voted as a
- 22:17Speaker 7: congresswoman to protect men and women's sports, to support men
- 22:21Speaker 7: and women's spaces. And then she came out right before
- 22:23Speaker 7: the election and said, I actually don't support that anymore.
- 22:25Speaker 7: And she's continuing that to this day. But as Vance said,
- 22:28Speaker 7: don't look at what she's saying. Look at how she voted.
- 22:30Speaker 7: Look at what she does. And so that was really
- 22:32Speaker 7: the emphatic message that I was hearing from Vance up there.
- 22:35Speaker 7: And you also heard that from the president as well.
- 22:38Speaker 7: And I think you're going to continue hearing it until
- 22:39Speaker 7: Election Day because there's a lot of undecided voters up there.
- 22:44Speaker 7: I think there's a lot of voters up there who
- 22:46Speaker 7: often are afraid to vote because let's say you're a
- 22:49Speaker 7: fisherman and you start in one part of Alaska and
- 22:51Speaker 7: you end the year in another part. You don't really
- 22:53Speaker 7: trust voters. The absentee voting system, you are rightfully distrustful
- 22:58Speaker 7: about how a lot of that thing works. So a
- 23:00Speaker 7: lot of these guys have really what they need to
- 23:03Speaker 7: do is to reach these voters and convince them to
- 23:06Speaker 7: vote for them. And that's what Donald Trump and Vance
- 23:08Speaker 7: and Sullivan were doing. So I guess we'll see very
- 23:11Speaker 7: soon whether that paid out.
- 23:14Speaker 3: What do you think?
- 23:15Speaker 2: I know President Trump is traveling all over the place.
- 23:17Speaker 2: You just mentioned, Mary, that you were with J.D.
- 23:20Speaker 4: Vance.
- 23:21Speaker 2: Deep down, President Trump won the greatest comeback in the
- 23:25Speaker 2: history of maybe American, certainly American politics, maybe global politics
- 23:31Speaker 2: ever in 2024. Where do you think they're going to
- 23:34Speaker 2: spend the midterm election night, Trump and J.D.
- 23:37Speaker 7: Vance?
- 23:38Speaker 2: I'm curious if you guys have been given any heads up.
- 23:40Speaker 2: And deep down, how much do you think the president
- 23:44Speaker 2: really cares when he's not on the ballot himself?
- 23:48Speaker 7: Well, look, Trump has made himself on the ballot. And,
- 23:51Speaker 7: you know, he's gotten a lot of criticisms from legacy
- 23:54Speaker 7: media over the past couple months. I spend all my
- 23:56Speaker 7: time with them at the White House. They love nothing
- 23:58Speaker 7: better than to say, you know, the president is scared
- 24:00Speaker 7: of the midterms, yada, yada, yada. He's distancing. Well, actually,
- 24:04Speaker 7: Trump has spent the last several weeks telling people all
- 24:07Speaker 7: over the country that pretend I'm on the ballot, pretend
- 24:10Speaker 7: I'm on the ballot over and over and over again,
- 24:12Speaker 7: telling them, promise me that you'll vote. This is personal
- 24:15Speaker 7: to me. So he's making these midterms more about himself
- 24:18Speaker 7: than he needs to. And I'd argue, you know, if
- 24:20Speaker 7: he wanted to, and he really felt like they weren't
- 24:22Speaker 7: going to go well, he could sit back and say, yeah,
- 24:25Speaker 7: when a president is in the White House, it's less
- 24:27Speaker 7: likely that his party will do well. But that's not
- 24:30Speaker 7: what he's saying. He's out there campaigning. So I think
- 24:32Speaker 7: that's a really important point to make that He is
- 24:34Speaker 7: not waving the white flag whatsoever. He's literally out there
- 24:37Speaker 7: in all of these states really working hard for Republicans.
- 24:41Speaker 7: And then as to where he'll spend election night, I've
- 24:43Speaker 7: been asking a lot because I'd ideally like to be
- 24:46Speaker 7: wherever the president is on election night so we can
- 24:48Speaker 7: cover him. The White House has not really released where
- 24:51Speaker 7: he'll be yet. There's rumors that he could be in D.C.
- 24:53Speaker 7: There's rumors that he'll be in Palm Beach. We have
- 24:55Speaker 7: nothing confirmed yet. So we're still waiting on that. And
- 24:58Speaker 7: if I if I get That confirmed soon. I'll have
- 25:01Speaker 7: to let you guys know. But that's an interesting part
- 25:04Speaker 7: of this as well. When he was there, obviously, in
- 25:07Speaker 7: Palm Beach during the 2024 election, I believe during the
- 25:11Speaker 7: last midterm campaign cycle, he was in Mar-a-Lago as well.
- 25:15Speaker 7: It is his refuge, his winter White House. So we'll
- 25:20Speaker 7: have to wait and see. But I think any way
- 25:23Speaker 7: you shake it, the president is very involved in these midterms.
- 25:26Speaker 7: I was with him last week in Iowa. He was
- 25:30Speaker 7: He was up until 1.30 in the morning, I think
- 25:32Speaker 7: every single night last week. And as someone who traveled
- 25:35Speaker 7: with him only one day last week, I was recovering
- 25:38Speaker 7: the next day and pretty grumpy. So I don't blame
- 25:41Speaker 7: him for snapping at some reporters last week because I'm
- 25:44Speaker 7: not sure how much sleep he was getting.
- 25:46Speaker 2: I was going to ask you this because I think
- 25:49Speaker 2: it was last week you had a clip that went
- 25:51Speaker 2: viral of you asking him a question, I think, as
- 25:54Speaker 2: he was preparing to get on Marine One to get
- 25:56Speaker 2: on the helicopter.
- 25:57Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 25:58Speaker 2: And you asked him a question and then he asked
- 26:00Speaker 2: what outlet you were with. You said the Daily Wire
- 26:04Speaker 2: and then he said, oh, I love them. But I'm
- 26:06Speaker 2: curious when he asked what outlet you were with, were
- 26:09Speaker 2: you like, oh, he's really going to rip me now?
- 26:11Speaker 3: Did you think he liked the question?
- 26:12Speaker 2: I'm just kind of curious from a reporter perspective what
- 26:16Speaker 2: your thoughts were as that interaction was playing out.
- 26:20Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean, my life flashed before my eyes.
- 26:22Speaker 3: No, I'm kidding.
- 26:23Speaker 7: I knew I wasn't fake news, but I had asked
- 26:26Speaker 7: him about Emmanuel Macron, who during all the rioting in
- 26:29Speaker 7: Paris last week had suggested that Trump was to blame
- 26:33Speaker 7: for the rioting by blaming the Iran war and the
- 26:36Speaker 7: rising gas prices. And so I asked the president about this.
- 26:39Speaker 7: And I think his perspective was if that question was
- 26:42Speaker 7: coming from CNN, he was already going to be annoyed
- 26:44Speaker 7: because he doesn't like CNN and they are consistently unfair
- 26:47Speaker 7: to him. But from my POV, I thought it was
- 26:49Speaker 7: an interesting question. It wasn't a gotcha question. I genuinely
- 26:52Speaker 7: want to know, how does he feel about Macron framing
- 26:55Speaker 7: the writing in this way? And so he said, that's
- 26:58Speaker 7: fake news.
- 26:59Speaker 5: Who are you with?
- 27:00Speaker 7: And I said, no, sir. I'm with Mary Margaret with
- 27:01Speaker 7: The Daily Wire. And then he said, okay, The Daily
- 27:04Speaker 7: Wire is good, which my team loved. The Daily Wire
- 27:06Speaker 7: loved that.
- 27:07Speaker 4: It's a good endorsement.
- 27:08Speaker 8: Yes.
- 27:09Speaker 4: That was really funny.
- 27:10Speaker 7: Yeah, we got the good endorsement. But then he did
- 27:12Speaker 7: give me a good response on France and Macron. So,
- 27:15Speaker 7: worked out.
- 27:16Speaker 1: So, You are a White House correspondent, so you are
- 27:19Speaker 1: in the environs and speaking to and hearing the whispers.
- 27:22Speaker 1: I don't know if you're a Game of Thrones fan,
- 27:25Speaker 1: but the little birds, as the spymaster would say, little
- 27:28Speaker 1: birds out there talking to him. I've heard some little
- 27:33Speaker 1: birds chirping perhaps here and there. about a, let's just say,
- 27:38Speaker 1: shortlist of possible White House press secretaries to step up
- 27:43Speaker 1: for that role. Are you hearing the same? If so,
- 27:46Speaker 1: who's on the shortlist? What can you tell us?
- 27:51Speaker 7: Well, it's an interesting conversation because last time around, everyone
- 27:55Speaker 7: had these speculations and guesses about who it would be.
- 27:59Speaker 7: And most of that was truly just speculation. There were
- 28:03Speaker 7: some top contenders that were under consideration. I know Scott Jennings'
- 28:07Speaker 7: name was thrown around quite a bit last time. And
- 28:10Speaker 7: then the president settled on Katie Zachariah, ultimately. There was
- 28:15Speaker 7: a lot of talk about him potentially considering people like
- 28:20Speaker 7: Benny Ray Harmony, who now works on the White House staff,
- 28:23Speaker 7: on the White House comms team. So this time around,
- 28:27Speaker 7: it's a little too early to tell. There's still some
- 28:30Speaker 7: people who absolutely want to throw their hats into the ring.
- 28:33Speaker 7: One person that I thought would be under consideration that
- 28:35Speaker 7: I had heard some talk of, she's actually very, very
- 28:38Speaker 7: pregnant right now. So I don't think that she will
- 28:41Speaker 7: ultimately be the one that the president chooses. But Tricia McLaughlin,
- 28:44Speaker 7: who was formerly at DHS, very strong on many levels
- 28:49Speaker 7: as a candidate, but she's about to have a baby.
- 28:50Speaker 7: So I'm not sure that that would work at this
- 28:52Speaker 7: point in time. Scott Jennings is still under possible consideration
- 28:58Speaker 7: as far as I'm aware. And then you have people
- 29:00Speaker 7: like Anna Kelly, who's one of the top Uh, top
- 29:04Speaker 7: comm staff at the white house. Um, she has really
- 29:08Speaker 7: become one of the more senior staffers on the white
- 29:11Speaker 7: house comms team. And then there's a lot of rumors
- 29:13Speaker 7: about Stephen Chung. Now, I should caution everyone with the
- 29:17Speaker 7: guessing and the betting, because what I have noticed is
- 29:21Speaker 7: a lot of the names that everyone starts talking about,
- 29:23Speaker 7: they're really not coming from the White House. They're kind
- 29:25Speaker 7: of coming from speculation on Kalshi. And so I don't
- 29:29Speaker 7: know that anyone is actually suggesting them at the White House,
- 29:31Speaker 7: but people are being confused a little bit by who
- 29:34Speaker 7: they're seeing rise or fall in the ranks on Kalshi.
- 29:36Speaker 7: So I would caution everyone that before you hear it,
- 29:40Speaker 7: before you, you know, make any bets in that manner,
- 29:43Speaker 7: wait to hear more from the White House, because I've
- 29:45Speaker 7: seen some names rise and fall that I'm pretty sure
- 29:47Speaker 7: have nothing to do with the actual White House press
- 29:50Speaker 7: secretary selection and more to do with guessing. Hmm.
- 29:53Speaker 4: OK, we'll see.
- 29:55Speaker 3: Last question for you.
- 29:56Speaker 2: We haven't covered this very much, but I know it's
- 29:58Speaker 2: turned into a bit of a story, particularly on the
- 30:01Speaker 2: East Coast.
- 30:02Speaker 3: The Iwo Jima Memorial.
- 30:04Speaker 2: Had a I believe it was an illegal immigrant who
- 30:07Speaker 2: decapitated one of the statues there. And I just saw
- 30:11Speaker 2: that that person who was arrested has been released on
- 30:15Speaker 2: a relatively nonexistent bail.
- 30:17Speaker 3: I think it was twenty five hundred bucks. What I
- 30:19Speaker 3: saw come across.
- 30:21Speaker 2: What can you tell us about that story and how
- 30:23Speaker 2: much attention is it getting in the Washington political class?
- 30:28Speaker 7: Well, the story is getting a lot of attention because
- 30:29Speaker 7: this is exactly the kind of thing that we were
- 30:32Speaker 7: experiencing under the Biden administration. And just for context, this
- 30:36Speaker 7: is the Iwo Jima Memorial in Quantico. So that's in
- 30:40Speaker 7: Stafford County or I think, you know, Spotsylvania area. A
- 30:45Speaker 7: beautiful memorial honoring the Marines who have laid down their
- 30:49Speaker 7: lives in the service of their country. And that illegal
- 30:54Speaker 7: immigrant vandalized this statue by cutting off one of the
- 30:57Speaker 7: heads of one of these soldiers with a sledgehammer. So
- 31:01Speaker 7: really disgusting and violent crime. But he was released. And,
- 31:06Speaker 7: you know, I was on a ride along with ICE
- 31:09Speaker 7: this morning. We have a video coming soon from Daily
- 31:11Speaker 7: Wire detailing what we saw there. But something that I've
- 31:14Speaker 7: been hearing from ICE over and over again is, is
- 31:17Speaker 7: that this immigration problem where we have these violent offenders
- 31:20Speaker 7: amongst us is only exacerbated by the ability of local
- 31:25Speaker 7: authorities to just circumvent the process. So in Fairfax, for example,
- 31:30Speaker 7: you have all these local authorities that are just letting
- 31:33Speaker 7: all these immigrants out back into the streets and ignoring
- 31:36Speaker 7: the requests of ICE because they are listening to the
- 31:39Speaker 7: liberal local authorities like Stacey Kincaid over at the sheriff
- 31:44Speaker 7: in Fairfax County, or you've got Steve Descano, the rogue
- 31:47Speaker 7: prosecutor over there. So there is a very serious problem,
- 31:50Speaker 7: specifically in the Virginia area, with immigrants being released back
- 31:54Speaker 7: onto the streets, with local authorities not honoring the president's
- 31:59Speaker 7: mandate to protect the public from these violent, illegal criminals.
- 32:03Speaker 7: So this is just another example of that. And I
- 32:06Speaker 7: have a feeling that the On this topic, because this
- 32:13Speaker 7: is just too close to his heart. This is something
- 32:15Speaker 7: that he cares about very deeply. And given that Fairfax
- 32:18Speaker 7: and Stafford are within an hour of Washington, D.C., it's
- 32:22Speaker 7: particularly noticeable. And also this this statue that you would
- 32:26Speaker 7: do my memorial. I mean, come on. Could you come
- 32:29Speaker 7: for something more American than that? More revered and honored
- 32:33Speaker 7: by Americans than the heroes that have laid down their
- 32:36Speaker 7: lives so that the rest of us can enjoy life?
- 32:38Speaker 7: the land of the free and the home of the brave?
- 32:40Speaker 7: I don't think so. So I think this guy picked
- 32:42Speaker 7: the wrong fight and it's about to become much more serious.
- 32:45Speaker 7: But at The Daily Wire, we're very interested in the
- 32:47Speaker 7: story and we'll be following it very closely. So hopefully
- 32:50Speaker 7: we can bring you guys some more answers on that soon.
- 32:52Speaker 2: Mary Margaret Olihan, she's doing great work. White House correspondent
- 32:56Speaker 2: for The Daily Wire. Also a fantastic site. Everybody can
- 32:59Speaker 2: check it out. Mary Margaret, we appreciate the time.
- 33:02Speaker 7: Thanks for having me.
- 33:04Speaker 3: Good stuff as always there, Buck, tonight.
- 33:08Speaker 2: The NFC East, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Philadelphia Eagles, both,
- 33:13Speaker 2: I'm going to be kind to even describe them this way,
- 33:17Speaker 2: both franchises so far this year, dumpster fires, Buck.
- 33:21Speaker 3: It's been ugly for both.
- 33:23Speaker 2: I am taking the Eagles plus four and a half tonight.
- 33:26Speaker 2: You can find me in the Hard Rock Bet app,
- 33:29Speaker 2: Monday Night Football, putting a bow. on a great weekend
- 33:32Speaker 2: of college and NFL action.
- 33:34Speaker 3: I need a win.
- 33:35Speaker 2: I did not have a good weekend in the NFL.
- 33:38Speaker 2: You can play along in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan,
- 33:42Speaker 2: New Jersey, Ohio, Tennessee, and Virginia. Or, if you don't
- 33:46Speaker 2: live in those states, if you're going to be in
- 33:48Speaker 2: any of them during Thanksgiving, not very far away, during Christmas,

- 35:22Speaker 4: I don't know if you've noticed, but he seems very

- 35:52Speaker 5: Just gold everywhere.
- 35:55Speaker 4: So he's clearly not focused on gold.
- 35:56Speaker 2: The Cheesecake Factory line, it's actually kind of a high-end
- 36:01Speaker 2: place to go eat for a lot of people.
- 36:03Speaker 3: It's not cheap.
- 36:05Speaker 2: But denigrating Cheesecake Factory, Scott Bessett just ate lunch at.
- 36:10Speaker 3: The Cheesecake Factory.

- 36:26Speaker 8: White House decorations or construction to the Cheesecake Factory, saying
- 36:30Speaker 8: it looks like Saddam Hussein opened the Cheesecake Factory.
- 36:32Speaker 3: Any reaction to that?
- 36:33Speaker 4: Well, two things.
- 36:34Speaker 3: This is the man who built the museum. It looks
- 36:37Speaker 3: like Darth Vader's tomb.
- 36:40Speaker 5: And I would just tell the, I had a great meal,
- 36:42Speaker 5: always have a great meal, and I would tell the
