Transcript
- 0:04Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome to Reality TV Cringe. I'm one of
- 0:09Speaker 1: your hosts, Delia, and I'm here with my real tight
- 0:13Speaker 1: home girl and my daughter in law, the Effervescent, the
- 0:17Speaker 1: juicy Lucy.
- 0:20Speaker 2: That's me.
- 0:22Speaker 1: Was that too gross? No to call you a juicy Lucise,
- 0:25Speaker 1: It's probably inappropriate.
- 0:26Speaker 2: No, you talk about my razor plate like.
- 0:28Speaker 1: All the two. Okay, So I don't mean anything bad.
- 0:30Speaker 1: I'm just saying just you're just so young and pretty
- 0:33Speaker 1: just walking around that big old boody. I just it
- 0:36Speaker 1: hearkens me back to the days when I was walking
- 0:39Speaker 1: around like that. But anyway, we are here to talk
- 0:43Speaker 1: sister wives, honey, and I'm gonna try and not be negative.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Me too.
- 0:48Speaker 1: I'm gonna be so positive about this whack ass Christmas
- 0:52Speaker 1: special that we got this Sunday, and I'm gonna really
- 0:55Speaker 1: do my very best to recap with some optimism. You're welcome.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Before we get into it, though, we do have to
- 1:03Speaker 1: issue you a disclaimer. Please, how'd your wife and hide
- 1:08Speaker 1: your kids? This is a politically incorrect podcast, which simply
- 1:13Speaker 1: means that we're stupid, We're dumb, we say things without
- 1:18Speaker 1: doing any research, and we don't care. We're inflammatory we're
- 1:22Speaker 1: in Sandiary and we're pretty, and so if you're sensitive
- 1:28Speaker 1: way already, you might want to find yourself another dumpster.
- 1:36Speaker 1: But if you're ready to party and have fun for
- 1:39Speaker 1: Christmas in October, then welcome to those dumpster.
- 1:45Speaker 2: And if you like what we do over here, please
- 1:47Speaker 2: be sure to follow us on Instagram at reality tv
- 1:50Speaker 2: Crunch and join us on Patreon, Patrea dot com, sash
- 1:53Speaker 2: reality tv Crunch. We are still covering Christine Brown Woolli's
- 1:58Speaker 2: riveting book entitled Sister Wife over on Patreon, and we
- 2:01Speaker 2: have many more plans for the holidays coming up, so
- 2:04Speaker 2: you'll definitely want to join us in the up beat
- 2:06Speaker 2: ump stuff.
- 2:06Speaker 1: If you are watching on YouTube, please do not forget
- 2:09Speaker 1: to like and comment and share and subscribe and hype
- 2:13Speaker 1: us up by. I was noticing that people were throwing
- 2:17Speaker 1: us some of those high points. I don't know if
- 2:19Speaker 1: it means anything.
- 2:20Speaker 2: I think it helps a little bit.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Just feel like it's very affirming to me personally, and
- 2:24Speaker 1: so thank you in vain, thank you. Before we get
- 2:29Speaker 1: into this recap, Beatrice, I do have to ask you,
- 2:33Speaker 1: did you have any takeaways?
- 2:34Speaker 2: This is my only negative point. Sure, try for sure
- 2:39Speaker 2: the remainder of this recap. Why do we have a
- 2:41Speaker 2: Christmas special in the middle of October. I don't understand
- 2:44Speaker 2: the timing of this season, like it was already released
- 2:48Speaker 2: way too soon after season nineteen. I don't understand, And
- 2:51Speaker 2: I feel like if you waited just like a month,
- 2:54Speaker 2: we could have had the Christmas special around Christmas of
- 2:58Speaker 2: this year. But no, we get a Christmas special now
- 3:01Speaker 2: the week of Halloween, and it's Christmas of twenty twenty
- 3:05Speaker 2: four that we're watching.
- 3:06Speaker 1: And it's not just a Christmas special that's out of
- 3:10Speaker 1: the timeline and therefore very mysterious. At the end of
- 3:14Speaker 1: this episode, everyone's wishing us a Merry Christinas from their
- 3:19Speaker 1: interstitial couch as if it's Christmas, And like, would it
- 3:23Speaker 1: have been so difficult production to just like release season
- 3:28Speaker 1: twenty at the end of October so that we could
- 3:30Speaker 1: line this up a little bit, maybe be a little
- 3:33Speaker 1: bit in the Christmas spirit. I don't understand the motivation.
- 3:37Speaker 2: That's what I'm to see. That's what I'm saying.
- 3:39Speaker 1: I don't get it at all.
- 3:41Speaker 2: It drives me nuts. So I'm going to.
- 3:43Speaker 1: Be the inappropriate raccoon in the dumpster who's getting old
- 3:49Speaker 1: and doesn't give a shit. What are you to do
- 3:51Speaker 1: to me? Nothing? And I'm just gonna say that Auroras section.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Cringe.
- 3:58Speaker 1: I could have done without. And Aurora herself is giving
- 4:06Speaker 1: arrested development. Aurora is giving fifteen years old and not
- 4:12Speaker 1: twenty two year old, established adult person who can vote
- 4:16Speaker 1: and consume alcoholic beverages. Aurora is very childlike and it's
- 4:23Speaker 1: concerning to me. And she's very sweet. I'm not saying
- 4:26Speaker 1: she's not sweet. She looks like she's got a great
- 4:28Speaker 1: heart and she loves Jesus and that's great. But it's
- 4:30Speaker 1: just very creepy. It is very weird. I agree with
- 4:35Speaker 1: and I'm just going to say it, and I'm sorry
- 4:37Speaker 1: if you don't like it, but she's not a baby. No,
- 4:39Speaker 1: she's not a tender.
- 4:40Speaker 2: She's twenty two years old.
- 4:42Speaker 1: So I'm going to put it out there. That was weird.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Af it was so weird. It was so six seven.
- 4:47Speaker 2: Yeah, six seven. I tried to figure out what that means.
- 4:54Speaker 1: I was looking on Google.
- 4:55Speaker 2: I still but whatever that means.
- 4:57Speaker 1: That's what it was. He yeaha, Okay, without further ado,
- 5:02Speaker 1: let's get into this episode of Sister Wives Season twenty, episode.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Five, entitled kissing another man's wife, which I'm just like, Okay.
- 5:12Speaker 1: That's what we need. We need to be lectured by
- 5:15Speaker 1: Cody Brown. I WoT how to honor women.
- 5:19Speaker 2: I can't, girl, I can't. But we start the episode
- 5:22Speaker 2: off with Mary and her wanna be lesbian lover gin
- 5:26Speaker 2: going to Christmas Brunch.
- 5:27Speaker 1: And I ship them. I ship them.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Hard, I ship them too. I would love that for them.
- 5:32Speaker 2: But they go to Christmas Brunch at the Cracker Barrel
- 5:36Speaker 2: and this is where we have like some staged conversations
- 5:39Speaker 2: about like Logan asking Mary for her candy cane recipe.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Oh that's great, lovely, don't care, and then we have.
- 5:46Speaker 1: But I do love what that Mary is in communication
- 5:50Speaker 1: with Logan. I did see alshow that Logan left some
- 5:55Speaker 1: sort of a comment on I think Cody's Instagram or
- 5:59Speaker 1: this forces Instagram, congratulating Cody for killing it this season.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Oh God.
- 6:05Speaker 1: So it feels like Logan is putting himself out there
- 6:08Speaker 1: in these various relationships. And I don't love it for
- 6:11Speaker 1: Cody because he deserves.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Nothing, nothing at all.
- 6:14Speaker 1: But I love that a little bit for Mary because
- 6:15Speaker 1: she needs some of the family members in her corner.
- 6:19Speaker 2: No, I guess, but I'm like, if we're supposed to
- 6:22Speaker 2: believe some of the stuff that Christine Brown is saying
- 6:24Speaker 2: in her book, which again we're covering on Patreon, I mean,
- 6:27Speaker 2: she's coming for Mary a little bit, and how mean
- 6:31Speaker 2: and terrible Mary is. I'm just like, I don't know.
- 6:35Speaker 2: If I was Logan in this position, I would really
- 6:38Speaker 2: just be contacting Mary just so I can get the recipes,
- 6:40Speaker 2: not for any other reason. Okay, not because I like
- 6:42Speaker 2: her or anything.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Hey, Mary, long time, no talk. I really need that
- 6:47Speaker 1: Keady gave rousby for these things.
- 6:49Speaker 2: But it was I guess it was sweet because she's like, oh,
- 6:52Speaker 2: people care about me, and.
- 6:54Speaker 1: I do love that this one person. Yeah, and Jen
- 6:57Speaker 1: cares about me.
- 6:57Speaker 2: That's it. And then they talk little bit about Coyote Pass,
- 7:01Speaker 2: and again another like staged conversation where Mary's just like, yeah,
- 7:05Speaker 2: I don't know why Cody can't communicate. I don't know
- 7:08Speaker 2: what's going on. And that's all we get really about
- 7:11Speaker 2: Coyote Pass, because I guess at this point twenty twenty four,
- 7:15Speaker 2: it's still not paid off or not paid off. It's
- 7:18Speaker 2: still not divided equally, right.
- 7:21Speaker 1: The titles have not been sorted out, but I do
- 7:24Speaker 1: think we have a buyer that's interested in our next episode,
- 7:29Speaker 1: but things are not moving and shaking. Now. Is this
- 7:32Speaker 1: conversation the same one where Jen calls Mary out and says,
- 7:37Speaker 1: you can just can you just say that he's an asshole?
- 7:40Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 7:41Speaker 1: And we like, just tell the truth and instead of
- 7:43Speaker 1: like just existing in your brain, Mary, can we say
- 7:46Speaker 1: the words out loud?
- 7:47Speaker 2: Yes?
- 7:47Speaker 1: So Cody is an absolute diabolical piece of trash.
- 7:51Speaker 2: And Mary's like, no, I don't want to be a.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Bitch, but you are a bitch. I mean, this is
- 7:55Speaker 1: one's counter to who you actually are and you Christine
- 7:58Speaker 1: says you are and who we know you to be.
- 8:00Speaker 1: We know you have it and you Mary, yep, call
- 8:02Speaker 1: it out.
- 8:03Speaker 2: And Jen's like, well, let me give you bitch lessons
- 8:05Speaker 2: and then this I feel like this was supposed to
- 8:07Speaker 2: be like a segue into their little like podcast, The
- 8:10Speaker 2: Salty Birches or something, but we didn't really get into it.
- 8:13Speaker 2: But it was just Jen being like, be a bitch, yeah,
- 8:16Speaker 2: and your nice girl era and I'm like, when was
- 8:19Speaker 2: her nice girl e? She didn't really have a nice one.
- 8:23Speaker 2: It's more of like a I'm gonna roll over and
- 8:26Speaker 2: just take everything that Cody gives me era.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Yeah, that's end that which means you're a doormat. Yeah,
- 8:31Speaker 1: that's your era. I did like the conversation about how
- 8:36Speaker 1: Jen has been there with Mary from the very beginning. Yes,
- 8:40Speaker 1: and that it was our girl Jen who initially encouraged
- 8:44Speaker 1: Mary to get out of the house. You shut in
- 8:47Speaker 1: and go do something for yourself, go to like have
- 8:49Speaker 1: a su or something and stay for a night. Yeah,
- 8:52Speaker 1: and just become acclimated with the idea that you have
- 8:55Speaker 1: your own agency or in your own person.
- 8:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:57Speaker 1: And that was Jen, and that Jen has been her
- 8:59Speaker 1: big guests support this entire time. Yeah, And so props
- 9:03Speaker 1: to Jen for that.
- 9:04Speaker 2: And Mary even says like, I don't care what anybody says.
- 9:06Speaker 2: Jen was and still is my only support system. And
- 9:10Speaker 2: I believe that because Christine did away with Mary a
- 9:13Speaker 2: long long time ago. Janelle and Mary had always had
- 9:16Speaker 2: problems because of their conflicting personalities, and Cody didn't give
- 9:20Speaker 2: a shit about Mary at all. So yeah, I mean,
- 9:24Speaker 2: I appreciate their friendship. I don't mind like seeing it
- 9:27Speaker 2: on the show and everything. I just want Mary to
- 9:30Speaker 2: really be the bitch that we know that she is
- 9:32Speaker 2: and just say it outright, Like she says little things
- 9:36Speaker 2: here and there, like when they're talking about Coyote Pass,
- 9:38Speaker 2: like how she doesn't understand why it wasn't divided up
- 9:43Speaker 2: equally between the four people, Like why do Cody and
- 9:46Speaker 2: Robin get more after the acquisition of Christine's plot? And
- 9:50Speaker 2: like how is that fair to everybody? But then we
- 9:52Speaker 2: don't really go anywhere with that, and that's what's kind
- 9:55Speaker 2: of annoying, Like I would love for her to advocate
- 9:57Speaker 2: more and hashtag worthy up say like, hey, it's not fair,
- 10:01Speaker 2: we should all divide this up equally, but we're not
- 10:04Speaker 2: going to get that.
- 10:05Speaker 1: And can I just go out on a limb and
- 10:08Speaker 1: say that I feel like it's misogyny to equate niceness
- 10:15Speaker 1: with being a good person as a woman, and I
- 10:18Speaker 1: think as women we need to get out of that
- 10:20Speaker 1: blueprint because there's something that's very divine about being CALLI
- 10:25Speaker 1: maw and in your rage and in your power and
- 10:29Speaker 1: demanding what you're owed. And so for Mary to constantly
- 10:32Speaker 1: be like, well, I'm not going to speak out of
- 10:34Speaker 1: turn or you know, it's beneath me to tell the truth,
- 10:37Speaker 1: Like there's something that's very misogynists and dark about her
- 10:43Speaker 1: internalized misogyny, and I wish she would get out of that.
- 10:45Speaker 1: And I feel like she needs to feel empowered to
- 10:47Speaker 1: do that, to tell the truth, like tell the whole truth.
- 10:50Speaker 1: If you can do that, first of all, I will
- 10:52Speaker 1: respect you so much more, and second of all, the
- 10:55Speaker 1: truth will set you free sects.
- 10:59Speaker 2: And really, like, the only quote unquote bitchy thing we
- 11:02Speaker 2: get from Mary in this segment is her saying, comb
- 11:06Speaker 2: your fucking hair, Cody, which I mean I did appreciate
- 11:09Speaker 2: a little bit, but it was kind of forced out
- 11:12Speaker 2: of her because by John. Yes, and it's like say
- 11:16Speaker 2: more like, Cody, you have a small dick, Cody, you're bald, Cody,
- 11:22Speaker 2: You're the worst. Like I would love to hear that
- 11:24Speaker 2: from Mary. I feel like it would be so healing
- 11:27Speaker 2: if she could allow herself to be honest and to
- 11:30Speaker 2: express her true emotions. But she really does have that
- 11:34Speaker 2: warped perspective of like it's beneath me and I'm just
- 11:37Speaker 2: gonna be nice and be the better person.
- 11:39Speaker 1: It's like, no, just be real, well, and you're still
- 11:43Speaker 1: protecting the cult exactly. You're still protecting the people in
- 11:46Speaker 1: the cult, and yeah, the religion itself, And speaking of hair.
- 11:50Speaker 1: Was it me or was her hair in this episode
- 11:54Speaker 1: like egregiously straight? Yes, like needles straight, like sticks, like
- 12:01Speaker 1: pickup sticks.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:02Speaker 1: Straight. I just don't know who's counseling Mary on this hairdo.
- 12:07Speaker 1: And I'm not gonna say it every week, I don't think,
- 12:09Speaker 1: but like this week, I was just like Mary, I know,
- 12:12Speaker 1: you gotta look in a mirror, Honi. It does not
- 12:14Speaker 1: look good. I see you with some way, yeah, I
- 12:17Speaker 1: see you with some length, some flow. What's happened me?
- 12:22Speaker 1: I know, with the raggedy adds.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Really and it's like very very straight, like at the bottom,
- 12:28Speaker 2: and I'm like, girl, I can't. There was a throwback
- 12:31Speaker 2: picture at some point in this episode where it was her,
- 12:34Speaker 2: Cody and Leon, like way back in the day when
- 12:37Speaker 2: Leon was like a little kid and Mary had this
- 12:40Speaker 2: really long, luxurious blonde hair, and I'm like, Mary, bring
- 12:44Speaker 2: that bag a little bit, Oh my god, it would
- 12:46Speaker 2: look so much better.
- 12:48Speaker 1: Just yikes, just yikes, big yikes.
- 12:51Speaker 2: And then we bop on over to North Carolina, where
- 12:53Speaker 2: we have the majority of the family out there, even
- 12:56Speaker 2: like Christine David truly, most of I think, if not all,
- 13:01Speaker 2: of Christine's kids are out there.
- 13:03Speaker 1: And Aspen is not and Isabelle is not. I thought they.
- 13:06Speaker 2: Were, but maybe majority of them were out there. And
- 13:10Speaker 2: then Janelle's kids most of them were out there, and
- 13:12Speaker 2: they're all celebrating Christmas, which I did enjoy a bit.
- 13:16Speaker 2: We do have like a little argument between well it's
- 13:20Speaker 2: not even really an argument, but it's like a family
- 13:22Speaker 2: dispute between like Christine and Caleb about this like fake cannonball.
- 13:26Speaker 2: And I'm like, we don't need to talk about this,
- 13:28Speaker 2: Let's just get to the family traditions. I'm just like,
- 13:33Speaker 2: I no one cares about the gad about But we
- 13:36Speaker 2: start decorating for Christmas and we start talking about like
- 13:40Speaker 2: family traditions and we have this like segment with Christine
- 13:44Speaker 2: where she's like, I didn't realize that Christmas traditions were
- 13:47Speaker 2: so important to my children, like especially after I left Cody,
- 13:52Speaker 2: I didn't realize that I should continue on in the
- 13:54Speaker 2: family traditions. I'm like, what are you talking about.
- 13:57Speaker 1: Well, we're currently reading the book that she Least this year,
- 14:01Speaker 1: in which she went on and on and on about
- 14:04Speaker 1: how much she valued these traditions and that Mary liked
- 14:07Speaker 1: to make the turkey. Yeah, that Robin brought her cookies
- 14:10Speaker 1: and all of the different things that the various wives did.
- 14:13Speaker 1: So what do you mean that you just assumed that
- 14:16Speaker 1: nobody would think about the traditions?
- 14:18Speaker 2: Like, come on, She's talking about how her kids were
- 14:21Speaker 2: asking her like, oh, are you going to make the
- 14:23Speaker 2: bread that Robin made? Are you going to make the
- 14:24Speaker 2: candy canes that Mary made? And Christine's like, no, why
- 14:28Speaker 2: would I do any of that?
- 14:29Speaker 1: And it's like, well, because you still have children and
- 14:31Speaker 1: you chose to bring them up in the structure of
- 14:34Speaker 1: this family in the way that you did. Yeah, just
- 14:36Speaker 1: because you're out, everybody's got to automatically be out too.
- 14:40Speaker 1: That's not how it works.
- 14:41Speaker 2: And this is what's really frustrating to me about Christine
- 14:43Speaker 2: is that she is kind of selfish. Sometimes she just
- 14:45Speaker 2: doesn't think about like what other people would be thinking about,
- 14:50Speaker 2: like especially during the holidays and stuff. And it's like, yeah,
- 14:52Speaker 2: it's great that you've moved on, but like, your kids
- 14:54Speaker 2: still have that foundation of this plural family that you
- 14:58Speaker 2: chose to raise them in. Of course they're gonna still
- 15:01Speaker 2: want some of those familial traditions. And even Janelle talks
- 15:05Speaker 2: about it how important it is to ground yourself in
- 15:09Speaker 2: those family traditions because life changes so much and things evolve,
- 15:13Speaker 2: and the future obviously looks so different now than it
- 15:17Speaker 2: did in the past when they had everybody together. So
- 15:20Speaker 2: I don't know, I just Christine.
- 15:22Speaker 1: She doesn't think about those things. And in the book,
- 15:25Speaker 1: like there's this section where she's talking about how Isabelle
- 15:29Speaker 1: found out that she was divorcing Cody, Like she overheard
- 15:33Speaker 1: Christine drunk telling everybody I think at Caleb and Maddie's
- 15:37Speaker 1: home that that was a situation, and Isabelle didn't know.
- 15:40Speaker 1: And then she promptly goes home to Utah or no,
- 15:43Speaker 1: to Flagstaff and she's talking to Michelte on the phone
- 15:47Speaker 1: about how she's planning to move to Utah, and truly
- 15:50Speaker 1: overhears her on the phone, so it's like, not intentional,
- 15:53Speaker 1: it's about her and what she's doing in the moment,
- 15:56Speaker 1: and she's not really thinking about anybody else.
- 15:58Speaker 2: Yes, it's unfortunate and it's really annoying, but I do
- 16:03Speaker 2: appreciate that most of them are out in North Carolina,
- 16:05Speaker 2: that they are celebrating all together, most of them together
- 16:09Speaker 2: for the holidays. I think that's really sweet. I think
- 16:11Speaker 2: Maddie is still pregnant like super deeper pregnant at this
- 16:14Speaker 2: point in time. So it's really great that most of
- 16:16Speaker 2: everybody is together and enjoying that family time. It just
- 16:20Speaker 2: goes to show that even though the family split up
- 16:24Speaker 2: in such a terrible way, like, they still have some
- 16:29Speaker 2: sense of unity together, which is really nice. Yes, And
- 16:33Speaker 2: then we bop on over to Cody and Robin. They
- 16:37Speaker 2: have just moved into their new McMansion and they are decorating,
- 16:41Speaker 2: said mcmanson. And this is where we have Aurora coming
- 16:46Speaker 2: into frame and talking about her new boyfriend, Brody that
- 16:51Speaker 2: she's so sprung about.
- 16:53Speaker 1: Yes, And I think that's sweet, and she's very excited
- 16:59Speaker 1: about it. It is obvious to me that they've already
- 17:02Speaker 1: had this conversation and now we're doing it on purpose
- 17:06Speaker 1: for the cameras to create content, and so I'm not
- 17:09Speaker 1: as interested, but I do think that it's precious that
- 17:13Speaker 1: Aurora has found somebody. Sure, she's very excited about it.
- 17:18Speaker 2: I just think it's weird.
- 17:19Speaker 1: That, like very Childlife twenty two.
- 17:21Speaker 2: Why do you have to make an announcement to your
- 17:23Speaker 2: parents that some guy asked you to be his girlfriend?
- 17:26Speaker 1: And she does it in such like a nervous way. Oh,
- 17:29Speaker 1: a trepidacious way.
- 17:30Speaker 2: She wants approval.
- 17:31Speaker 1: Tell your parents that you mite a man that you
- 17:35Speaker 1: think he's hot and six and he's a cowboy more,
- 17:38Speaker 1: he's got magic hands, mama, and just stand behind that.
- 17:42Speaker 1: But she's still so beholden to them, and I think
- 17:45Speaker 1: specifically to Robin, and I think it's probably because she
- 17:50Speaker 1: maybe just got out of school, she's still living with them.
- 17:53Speaker 1: They are financing her entire life, her vehicle or insurance, everything,
- 17:58Speaker 1: and so this is how she feels like she needs
- 18:00Speaker 1: to proceed to please them. Yes, And that's the story.
- 18:05Speaker 2: To me, that's problematic AF because I'm like, you are
- 18:08Speaker 2: a whole adult. You can do your own thing. I
- 18:10Speaker 2: understand that you're nervous, yeah, but like you don't need
- 18:13Speaker 2: anybody's approval. But like maybe she needs Robin's approval more
- 18:17Speaker 2: than anything, because when you notice, like she told Cody
- 18:20Speaker 2: and Robin in this very staged conversation and they're very
- 18:24Speaker 2: cluttered garage with all of Cody's bullshit, Robin's jaw got
- 18:28Speaker 2: really hard. Whereas Cody was kind of like excited for her,
- 18:32Speaker 2: or like feigning excitement, but Robin was just like, hmm, Okay,
- 18:35Speaker 2: that's cool, well, let's meet him. It's a roll a
- 18:38Speaker 2: big doll that we meet him, and so let's invite
- 18:40Speaker 2: him over to decorate our little Christmas tree in our
- 18:43Speaker 2: game room that we have.
- 18:45Speaker 1: I was like, are you in an attic? Where are
- 18:48Speaker 1: you staging this scene with the Christmas trees? And you
- 18:51Speaker 1: could tell she was so chagrin because it was the
- 18:54Speaker 1: wrong Christmas tree. It's like that scene from what is
- 18:58Speaker 1: it called, Oh my God, spinal app with the Stonehenge?
- 19:02Speaker 1: Have you ever seen? If you've seen it, you already know.
- 19:06Speaker 1: They're singing this really dark metal rock song about stone Edge.
- 19:12Speaker 1: So at some point there's supposed to be this replica
- 19:15Speaker 1: of Stonehenge that descends from the scene, and all of
- 19:18Speaker 1: these people are supposed to dance around it, and unfortunately
- 19:22Speaker 1: it's this really small, like ten inch stone edge.
- 19:26Speaker 2: Of all of these dwarves.
- 19:28Speaker 1: Just anyway, it was just like it didn't turn out
- 19:30Speaker 1: the way that they expected it to. And I just
- 19:32Speaker 1: had the same vibe vibees from Robin when she pulled
- 19:36Speaker 1: out those Christmas trees and she's like, what's going on?
- 19:39Speaker 1: I look stupid?
- 19:41Speaker 2: Did you do that was intentional? Or like? Do you
- 19:43Speaker 2: think that it was an actual accident.
- 19:45Speaker 1: I think it was an accident. I think she was
- 19:47Speaker 1: expecting to pull out like an eight foot Christmas tree
- 19:51Speaker 1: that they were going to decorate together as a fam
- 19:55Speaker 1: and it ended up being like a two foot Christmas tree.
- 19:59Speaker 1: I thought it was.
- 19:59Speaker 2: Great, barrass Yes, I did enjoy that, though I enjoy
- 20:04Speaker 2: seeing Robin uncomfortable. Maybe that makes me a horrible person. Uncomfortable.
- 20:10Speaker 2: Oh my god, started.
- 20:13Speaker 1: What's happening in this relationship? She seems repulsed by him.
- 20:17Speaker 1: I mean, wouldn't you be though, yes, indeed, but I
- 20:20Speaker 1: wouldn't have married him in the first place.
- 20:21Speaker 2: I mean true, But like every time Brody shows even
- 20:27Speaker 2: an ounce of affection to Aurora, Cody in this like
- 20:30Speaker 2: weird competitive way, is like trying to do the same
- 20:35Speaker 2: thing with Robin. Like he pulls out like a box
- 20:38Speaker 2: that it's supposed to be mistletoe or something, and he
- 20:40Speaker 2: makes this really cringe comment because Robin's just like focusing
- 20:44Speaker 2: on other stuff, like trying to get ornaments for the
- 20:46Speaker 2: tree that they're going to decorate, the four foot tree,
- 20:48Speaker 2: and Cody's like, yeah, so this is mistletoe, Robin, and
- 20:52Speaker 2: she like doesn't hear him, And then he says it
- 20:53Speaker 2: again and she doesn't hear him again, or like is
- 20:56Speaker 2: intentionally ignoring him.
- 20:58Speaker 1: But there's lots of these weird moments of them. I
- 21:00Speaker 1: think he says something about the way that he looks
- 21:04Speaker 1: at Robin, and he's asking an Aurora whether Brody looks
- 21:07Speaker 1: at her in the same way. But yeah, he's making
- 21:11Speaker 1: overtures to her of a romantic slash sexual nature, and
- 21:15Speaker 1: she's just constantly swerving and rebuffing him.
- 21:19Speaker 2: It's so weird.
- 21:20Speaker 1: And he even says something like, I know I probably
- 21:22Speaker 1: embarrass her, or I know that she probably doesn't want
- 21:25Speaker 1: me to be doing this, but I just can't help
- 21:26Speaker 1: it because I just love her so much and I
- 21:28Speaker 1: want everybody to see how much I love my wife.
- 21:31Speaker 1: She's not into it, Cody.
- 21:33Speaker 2: No, not at all. And then they try to spin
- 21:35Speaker 2: it like she's got to retrain herself to accept PDA
- 21:39Speaker 2: because and according to Cody he says this in his
- 21:42Speaker 2: talking head, like she was very careful for many years
- 21:46Speaker 2: to hide what they had and not let the world
- 21:50Speaker 2: know this special thing that they had together. And so
- 21:53Speaker 2: they're spinning it like, oh, she's just uncomfortable because for
- 21:57Speaker 2: so many years she couldn't accept his PDA accept his
- 22:00Speaker 2: affection and blah blah blah. Girl. Yeah, I ain't buying
- 22:03Speaker 2: it for a second. I feel like she's so grossed
- 22:06Speaker 2: out by him, and now he's this loser who lost
- 22:09Speaker 2: three women and he's broke, but they're pretending like they're
- 22:13Speaker 2: not because they have this mansion. I don't know.
- 22:16Speaker 1: Yeah, it was very uncomfortable, very and I was really
- 22:20Speaker 1: side eyeing her, like I feel he's legitimately in love
- 22:24Speaker 1: with her totally, Like he definitely is attracted to her.
- 22:28Speaker 1: He wants to show her off, but like she is
- 22:30Speaker 1: so closed down and closed off. I'm very concerned, Like
- 22:34Speaker 1: the minute he loses access to this wealth, to this fame,
- 22:39Speaker 1: she is gown d I.
- 22:42Speaker 2: Hope, so from your lips to God's ears, I want
- 22:44Speaker 2: that so bad. I know I shouldn't wish bad things
- 22:48Speaker 2: on people, but like these are bad people, so yes,
- 22:52Speaker 2: I really don't care. But yeah, this whole segment was
- 22:54Speaker 2: like really awkward. I could tell that they wanted it
- 22:56Speaker 2: to be like wholesome, but it's hard for you to
- 22:59Speaker 2: like film a wholesome moment with demons. Yeah, and then
- 23:05Speaker 2: Aurora and Brody, who I think are genuinely just two
- 23:08Speaker 2: young kids in love or whatever, And I think that's sweet,
- 23:11Speaker 2: even though they are kind of awkward.
- 23:13Speaker 1: What's with the knives? What's with the knives?
- 23:16Speaker 2: Well, I feel like it was kind of like a
- 23:18Speaker 2: nice yeah, but you're way Cody.
- 23:21Speaker 1: He ended up describing it was like, well, if you
- 23:25Speaker 1: need to use it against me, you have a knife.
- 23:27Speaker 1: I'm like what. Well, and then Cody like took the
- 23:30Speaker 1: baton and ran and he's like okay, so like, under
- 23:32Speaker 1: what circumstances do you think that maybe she would need
- 23:36Speaker 1: to be protected from you? And Brody is just like, well,
- 23:39Speaker 1: I don't know how I got into this quagmire and
- 23:42Speaker 1: I have no idea how to get out of it,
- 23:44Speaker 1: which as a parent, I would see that and I
- 23:47Speaker 1: would be like, let me just take care of this
- 23:48Speaker 1: for you. It's no problem, Brody. But no, Cody asks again,
- 23:52Speaker 1: and I think he asks again after that, and Brody
- 23:54Speaker 1: just does not know what to say. And this is
- 23:57Speaker 1: where we have Cody on the cow talking to us
- 24:01Speaker 1: about his idea of how a man should treat a woman,
- 24:06Speaker 1: and he's concerned about their entabusuit because you know, if
- 24:11Speaker 1: you're not gonna marry the girl, then you're kissing somebody
- 24:14Speaker 1: else's wife, and I'm just like, that's rich from a
- 24:17Speaker 1: man who had four wives. I know there afore three mistresses,
- 24:22Speaker 1: just banging all these women all the time, And you
- 24:24Speaker 1: want to presume to set yourself up a sub kind
- 24:27Speaker 1: a pedestal and tell this young man who's showing up
- 24:29Speaker 1: in a cowboy hat, he's adorable.
- 24:31Speaker 2: He is, like, you want to.
- 24:32Speaker 1: Lecture this boy about how to be in a good relationship.
- 24:34Speaker 1: Like this is what I'm saying. Narcissists cannot see themselves
- 24:40Speaker 1: as the world sees them. I think even Robin in
- 24:44Speaker 1: these moments is like, oh, cringe, Cody, like stfudy. She's
- 24:48Speaker 1: trying to walk out of the frame, but Jody doesn't stop.
- 24:51Speaker 2: No, he doesn't go, and he makes it so much
- 24:53Speaker 2: worse because this moment that was kind of a sweet
- 24:56Speaker 2: thing that Aurora was talking about about Brody, like he's
- 25:00Speaker 2: really sweet, like he's not gonna hurt me or anything,
- 25:02Speaker 2: and this is the metaphor that he did, like he
- 25:04Speaker 2: gave me a fucking knife because he's so safe or whatever.
- 25:08Speaker 2: And then Cody ruins it by over explaining and being
- 25:11Speaker 2: a total nark. It's just like, I don't understand why
- 25:14Speaker 2: we need to have this, and then this whole conversation
- 25:18Speaker 2: with Cody and Brody and then his little interstitial is
- 25:21Speaker 2: all about Aurora's chastity, but then it goes into him
- 25:25Speaker 2: and how he was actually a really honest and protective
- 25:29Speaker 2: man with Robin and he didn't touch Robin at all
- 25:32Speaker 2: until they got married.
- 25:33Speaker 1: The way I was shouting at my talent, I'm like,
- 25:38Speaker 1: you were such.
- 25:39Speaker 2: A lot of a dirty fucking live.
- 25:41Speaker 1: We saw you kissing her while Christine was giving birth
- 25:45Speaker 1: to Truble. What are you talking about? And all these
- 25:48Speaker 1: jaunts down to Saint George, Utah, where you spent an
- 25:51Speaker 1: entire weekend. What were you just hold up in the
- 25:53Speaker 1: Motail six while she's out doing something else. No, you're
- 25:56Speaker 1: in the Motel six with Robin. They all are banging
- 25:59Speaker 1: it out.
- 26:00Speaker 2: Or they were soaking, like the Mormon soaking. That's probably
- 26:03Speaker 2: what they were doing.
- 26:04Speaker 1: And it's such a liar, I know.
- 26:06Speaker 2: It just pissed me off. I'm like, shut up. And
- 26:09Speaker 2: I felt like he did that deliberately because everybody online
- 26:13Speaker 2: has been talking about how him and Robin totally were
- 26:15Speaker 2: banging during their courtship, and even Christine kind of alludes
- 26:20Speaker 2: to that in her book and diitled Sister Wife. She
- 26:24Speaker 2: alludes to it in the book, and so he's trying
- 26:26Speaker 2: to save face, and it's like, oh my god, you're
- 26:29Speaker 2: just a dirty, bald liar. I just I can't. I'm
- 26:33Speaker 2: so over it.
- 26:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, and here again, I'd like to be positive. Yeah,
- 26:38Speaker 1: and I'm like, oh, it's Christmas though. Oh look at
- 26:40Speaker 1: those little little trees. One has the cowboy hat on it,
- 26:44Speaker 1: the other has the bow. It looks so precious and awesome.
- 26:46Speaker 1: That's fantastic in your huge fucking home that you purchased
- 26:52Speaker 1: for two put one million dollars, of which you put
- 26:56Speaker 1: four hundred thousand dollars down because you siboned it a
- 27:00Speaker 1: way allegedly in my opinion, I think from the family LC.
- 27:04Speaker 1: So like, I'm just gonna reserve that. I'm gonna put
- 27:06Speaker 1: that to the side. Yeah, I'm just gonna be happy
- 27:08Speaker 1: for little Solomon and Aurora and everybody, like, Merry Christmas, bitches,
- 27:14Speaker 1: Merry Christmas. Looks looks like you're having a great life.
- 27:17Speaker 2: My god. It's so audacious though, to like film them
- 27:21Speaker 2: in this new mc mansion that it's so big that
- 27:23Speaker 2: they have multiple Christmas trees in multiple rooms, around the mansion. Yes,
- 27:28Speaker 2: I'm just like, Wow, you guys got some balls. But
- 27:31Speaker 2: keep showing me the mc mansion so I can keep
- 27:34Speaker 2: ridiculing it, because like we were in that booty kitchen
- 27:37Speaker 2: and I'm just like I was watching it with your daughter,
- 27:39Speaker 2: my wife, and I was like, they paid two point
- 27:42Speaker 2: one million dollars.
- 27:43Speaker 1: It's not a good kitchen for that price point. But
- 27:45Speaker 1: it's flag Staff and everything is overinflated. But did you
- 27:48Speaker 1: all see like the shelves that were already like stacked, yeah,
- 27:52Speaker 1: with papers and already sloppy and just overflowing with all
- 27:57Speaker 1: the various things. Can you imagine And how Robin is
- 28:01Speaker 1: going to be filling up that mcmansin with all of her.
- 28:04Speaker 3: Diquensie and village pieces and the Etsy dolls and the
- 28:09Speaker 3: Etsy Doll clothing and the crystal towers and the phoenix thriving.
- 28:16Speaker 2: Notice how she didn't talk about any of her shit though.
- 28:19Speaker 2: She blamed it all on Cody having quadruple the stuff
- 28:23Speaker 2: because he had duplicates of everything in every single house
- 28:27Speaker 2: and when all these bitches left him, they gave him
- 28:30Speaker 2: all his stuff back, and so we're supposed to believe
- 28:34Speaker 2: that's why that this house is full of just Cody's
- 28:37Speaker 2: extra clothing that he had at the other wives's house.
- 28:41Speaker 2: Puh lease, yes, I just I can't. I can't. And
- 28:46Speaker 2: then we have Jen and Mary again to lesbian lovers
- 28:50Speaker 2: going on a little trip to New York City for Christmas,
- 28:55Speaker 2: and they don't say why they're going, but like I
- 28:57Speaker 2: went and looked on their Instagram. They went to go
- 28:58Speaker 2: see Wicked. Yeah, it was literally last year.
- 29:02Speaker 1: And that's for them.
- 29:03Speaker 2: Yeah, that's great. But they're like having a little fun
- 29:06Speaker 2: girl get away where they're totally sissory.
- 29:10Speaker 1: You're lesbian fantasy, which does persist?
- 29:14Speaker 2: Well, I would just love that, yeah for Mary, Yes,
- 29:17Speaker 2: I would just love it for her. And Mary says,
- 29:20Speaker 2: maybe there's some single men that I can run into
- 29:23Speaker 2: on the street in Central Park or whatever, like, maybe
- 29:26Speaker 2: I'll find somebody.
- 29:27Speaker 1: She checks the apps and whatever location. Yeah, she goes
- 29:30Speaker 1: to and she was thinking that in New York it
- 29:33Speaker 1: would be a bit of an upgrade, but she says, unfortunately,
- 29:36Speaker 1: not compared to those men in Utah.
- 29:39Speaker 2: Kind of made me laugh a little bit. Yeah, but
- 29:41Speaker 2: I'm also like, Mary, is it just because your standards
- 29:43Speaker 2: are kind of high? Yes, I feel like it's that, yeah,
- 29:47Speaker 2: but you know whatever. And then this is where we
- 29:49Speaker 2: talked about like Mary not taking trips for herself and
- 29:54Speaker 2: now she's more well traveled, and she attributes that to
- 29:57Speaker 2: Jen because Jen helped her like get out of her
- 30:00Speaker 2: shell a little bit, and I did appreciate that. I
- 30:03Speaker 2: think that's good. It does give us insight into Mary
- 30:06Speaker 2: and how sad of a life she had before, like
- 30:09Speaker 2: leaving Cody, not feeling like she was worthy enough of
- 30:12Speaker 2: taking trips on her own or going out and being
- 30:15Speaker 2: her own individual person. She never travel alone until she
- 30:18Speaker 2: was like in her forties, which is crazy to me.
- 30:21Speaker 2: And then we have like a little interstitial with Cody
- 30:23Speaker 2: who said he never remembered the Lake Havisu trip, and
- 30:26Speaker 2: then he says that there were many times where Mary
- 30:29Speaker 2: actually just abandoned the whole family and nobody knew where
- 30:32Speaker 2: she was, implying that she was like out, I don't know,
- 30:37Speaker 2: on a bender or something and was like, Cody, what
- 30:40Speaker 2: do you even.
- 30:41Speaker 1: Say getting catfished? Probably? Yeah, Probably The only reason he
- 30:45Speaker 1: noticed is because Robin noticed. And the only reason Robin
- 30:48Speaker 1: noticed is because she was asking herself the question, well,
- 30:51Speaker 1: how can she afford to travel so much? What money
- 30:54Speaker 1: is she using for all of that? Because remember Mary
- 30:57Speaker 1: tells us and I don't remember when she told us.
- 30:59Speaker 1: I don't think it was a sea and I think
- 31:00Speaker 1: it was last season. Like Cody and Robin actually asked
- 31:04Speaker 1: her about her Lula ro money and where it was
- 31:07Speaker 1: all going, as if to suggest that she's supposed to
- 31:11Speaker 1: be paying more of that money into the family fund, which,
- 31:13Speaker 1: of course, in my opinion, they have been stealing from.
- 31:17Speaker 1: So they're probably wondering, well, where you traveling to? Will
- 31:19Speaker 1: you miss money bags?
- 31:21Speaker 2: God? Yeah, Like it's your fucking business. How about let's
- 31:24Speaker 2: see all of those American girl doll clothes that you bought, Robin,
- 31:28Speaker 2: I just can't. I'm being positive, we are being positive.
- 31:32Speaker 1: It's great. Doll dolls are great. Dolls are great, self soothing,
- 31:35Speaker 1: it's good. Why do you think she needs so many dolls?
- 31:38Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 31:39Speaker 1: She's a forty five year old woman.
- 31:41Speaker 2: I think it's really weird to me that she's buying
- 31:43Speaker 2: like American girl dolls. She's dressing them up.
- 31:45Speaker 1: Yeah, and I'm sure she's inviting Aurora into the room
- 31:48Speaker 1: to dress them. Maybe not maybe not Aurora, but like Ariella, Yeah,
- 31:52Speaker 1: to come into the room. But I doubt anybody can.
- 31:55Speaker 1: I think it's just her.
- 31:56Speaker 2: I don't know, it's really weird.
- 31:58Speaker 1: Haligen lighting just looking at all of the specific clothing
- 32:02Speaker 1: and dressing them just so they're her little friends.
- 32:05Speaker 2: They are her. Maybe that's what it is. Maybe they
- 32:08Speaker 2: are her little friends because she has none.
- 32:10Speaker 1: Well how could she, I mean, except for the ones
- 32:12Speaker 1: that she pays to be her friends, like the nanny.
- 32:14Speaker 1: And that's what Nannie does. She sits with Robin in
- 32:18Speaker 1: the basement with all the dolls and the Dickensian village,
- 32:20Speaker 1: and they play with their dolls.
- 32:23Speaker 2: I mean, if you think about it, like, we don't
- 32:25Speaker 2: see Robin with anybody else other than Cony. So what
- 32:29Speaker 2: kind of life does she really have besides being a
- 32:31Speaker 2: shut in high on ambien playing with her American girl dolls?
- 32:34Speaker 1: Yes, and you know they all drink. Oh and I
- 32:36Speaker 1: bet Robin probably in bibes of some glasses of wine
- 32:40Speaker 1: or some mixed cocktails or.
- 32:42Speaker 2: The ambient just in my opinion, definitely yes, maybe some
- 32:45Speaker 2: painkillers in there too.
- 32:46Speaker 1: Yeah that sounds great. I mean, why wouldn't you.
- 32:50Speaker 2: When you have to if you're married to Cochy.
- 32:52Speaker 1: Yeah, please medicate me, knock me out.
- 32:56Speaker 2: But then we end the episode with like a little
- 32:58Speaker 2: Christmas Carol because back in North Carolina, Christine's trying to
- 33:03Speaker 2: get the family to practice caroling. And then we have
- 33:07Speaker 2: the little interstitials between all of the adults and their
- 33:10Speaker 2: little separate interview rooms where they sing we wish you
- 33:14Speaker 2: a Merry Christmas, and we're trying to pretend like this
- 33:17Speaker 2: means things are good and they're happy, and we're also
- 33:21Speaker 2: getting a Christmas episode on the weekend Halloween. I don't understand.
- 33:26Speaker 1: I was disassociating. I was tripping the light fantastic. I
- 33:30Speaker 1: was in the sixth dimension with Jesus and Buddha. I
- 33:33Speaker 1: was just having a great time. I was not present
- 33:35Speaker 1: with this stupid episode.
- 33:37Speaker 2: It's just like super weird to me, Like how we
- 33:40Speaker 2: had this family break up in a really traumatic, awful
- 33:43Speaker 2: violent way, honestly, with how like nasty Cody was the
- 33:48Speaker 2: entire time, and then now we have this like we
- 33:52Speaker 2: wish she Christmas?
- 33:53Speaker 1: Would she would be christ Like what is that with
- 33:56Speaker 1: Cody and Robin literally singing this song on the couch,
- 34:00Speaker 1: these big cheesy grins, thinking they're rehabbing their image, thinking
- 34:04Speaker 1: we're gonna buy into this, honey. The dumpster doesn't buy
- 34:07Speaker 1: it at.
- 34:08Speaker 2: All, and then we're gonna have the apology tour that's
- 34:11Speaker 2: still to happen in this season.
- 34:13Speaker 1: Wind it down, let's just close up shopping whatever you
- 34:19Speaker 1: need to be here for seventeen more episodes have that
- 34:22Speaker 1: a sue.

- 34:37Speaker 1: place and saying, I'm not going on farmers only dot com.
- 34:41Speaker 1: I am my own woman. I did that agency. I
- 34:44Speaker 1: am a self determining individual who's gonna do her own thing.

- 35:52Speaker 2: like two episodes ago, where we were like already were
- 35:55Speaker 2: dividing up the property like equally and stuff.

- 35:59Speaker 1: we were just implying that maybe someday we would all right,
- 36:02Speaker 1: but now maybe we got to get a lawyer involved.

- 36:07Speaker 2: for Cody Roberts.
- 36:09Speaker 1: I'm very confused.

- 36:14Speaker 2: Janelle and he's like, Hi, guys, how you do it?
- 36:17Speaker 2: And both of them are mean mugging him. They're like,
- 36:19Speaker 2: just get to the fucking point, and he's like, I
- 36:21Speaker 2: thought it would be cordial, but it's not even that.
- 36:26Speaker 1: What do you think? Stay positive?
- 36:28Speaker 2: And then David and Cody going go kart racing For
- 36:33Speaker 2: some reason, I didn't see that.

- 36:42Speaker 1: that's what it's about.
- 36:43Speaker 2: Oh, no, that you're not going to be friends with him,

- 36:59Speaker 2: the scene that we've seen million times, but Cody telling
- 37:01Speaker 2: Robin that he got a fake email from some fake
- 37:04Speaker 2: woman who wants to pretend that or wants to be
- 37:07Speaker 2: involved in their family and be his wife. He wants
- 37:10Speaker 2: everybody to know that he's still desirable.
- 37:12Speaker 1: And then Teresa from Seeking Sister and then Robin gets her,
- 37:18Speaker 1: gets her jaw. She's super hardh she seems mad, and
- 37:21Speaker 1: she sets her jaw in that way that she does,
- 37:23Speaker 1: and she's like, I want to hear this from you, Cody.
- 37:25Speaker 2: But I thought polygamy was your dream Robin, as long
- 37:28Speaker 2: as it can be guaranteed and I can sign a contract. Yeah,
