- 0:00Speaker 1: Jacob Chapter one. For behold, it came to pass that
- 0:05Speaker 1: fifty and five years had passed away from the time
- 0:07Speaker 1: that Lehi left Jerusalem. Wherefore Nephi gave me Jacob a
- 0:12Speaker 1: commandment concerning the small plates upon which these things are engraven.
- 0:16Speaker 1: And he gave me Jacob a commandment that I should
- 0:18Speaker 1: write upon these plates a few of the things which
- 0:21Speaker 1: I consider to be most precious, that I should not touch,
- 0:25Speaker 1: save it were lightly concerning the history of this people,
- 0:28Speaker 1: which are called the people of Nephi. For he said
- 0:31Speaker 1: that the history of his people should be engraven upon
- 0:34Speaker 1: his other plates, and that I should preserve these plates
- 0:37Speaker 1: and hand them down unto my seed from generation to generation.
- 0:42Speaker 1: And if there were preaching which was sacred, or revelation
- 0:46Speaker 1: which was great, or prophesying, that I should engraven the
- 0:49Speaker 1: heads of them upon these plates and touch upon them
- 0:52Speaker 1: as much as it were possible, for Christ's sake and
- 0:55Speaker 1: for the sake of our people. For because of faith
- 0:58Speaker 1: and great anxiety, it truly had been made manifest unto
- 1:02Speaker 1: us concerning our people, what things should happen unto them.
- 1:06Speaker 1: And we also had many revelations, and the spirit of
- 1:09Speaker 1: much prophecy. Wherefore we knew of Christ and his kingdom
- 1:13Speaker 1: which should come. Wherefore we labored diligently among our people,
- 1:17Speaker 1: that we might persuade them to come unto Christ and
- 1:21Speaker 1: partake of the goodness of God, that they might enter
- 1:24Speaker 1: into His rest lest by any means, He should swear
- 1:27Speaker 1: in his wrath, they should not enter in as in
- 1:30Speaker 1: the provocation in the days of Temptation, while the children
- 1:33Speaker 1: of Israel were in the wilderness. Wherefore we would to
- 1:36Speaker 1: God that we could persuade all men not to rebel
- 1:40Speaker 1: against God, to provoke him to anger, but that all
- 1:43Speaker 1: men would believe in Christ and view his death, and
- 1:46Speaker 1: suffer his cross and bear the shame of the world. Wherefore, I, Jacob,
- 1:52Speaker 1: take it upon me to fulfill the commandment of my
- 1:54Speaker 1: brother Nephi. Now Nephi began to be old, and he
- 1:59Speaker 1: saw that he might soon die. Wherefore he appointed a
- 2:02Speaker 1: man to be a king and a ruler over his people. Now,
- 2:05Speaker 1: according to the reigns of the kings, the people having
- 2:09Speaker 1: loved Nephi exceedingly, he having been a great protector for them,
- 2:13Speaker 1: having wielded the sword of labor in their defense, and
- 2:16Speaker 1: having labored in all his days for their welfare. Wherefore
- 2:20Speaker 1: the people were desirous to retain in remembrance his name.
- 2:24Speaker 1: And whoso should reign in his stead were called by
- 2:27Speaker 1: the people second Nephi, Third Nephi, and so forth, according
- 2:32Speaker 1: to the reigns of the kings. And thus they were
- 2:34Speaker 1: called by the people. Let them be of whatever name
- 2:37Speaker 1: they would. And it came to pass that Nephi died.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Now the people which were not Lamanites were Nephites. Nevertheless,
- 2:46Speaker 1: they were called Nephites, Jacobites, Josephites, Zoramites, Lamanites, Lemuelites, and Ishmaelites.
- 2:53Speaker 1: But I, Jacob shall not hereafter distinguish them by these names.
- 2:57Speaker 1: But I shall call them Lamanites that seek to destroy
- 3:00Speaker 1: the people of Nephi, and those who are friendly to Nephi,
- 3:04Speaker 1: I shall call Nephites or the people of Nephi, according
- 3:08Speaker 1: to the reigns of the kings. And now it came
- 3:11Speaker 1: to pass that the people of Nephi, under the reign
- 3:13Speaker 1: of the second king began to grow hard in their
- 3:16Speaker 1: hearts and indulge themselves somewhat in wicked practices, such as
- 3:20Speaker 1: liken to David of old, desiring many wives and concubines,
- 3:24Speaker 1: and also Solomon his son Yea. And they also began
- 3:27Speaker 1: to search much gold and silver, and began to be
- 3:30Speaker 1: lifted up somewhat in pride. Wherefore, I Jacob gave unto
- 3:34Speaker 1: them these words as I taught them in the temple,
- 3:37Speaker 1: having first obtained mine errand from the Lord. For I
- 3:41Speaker 1: Jacob and my brother Joseph had been consecrated priests and
- 3:45Speaker 1: teachers of this people by the hand of Nephi. And
- 3:48Speaker 1: we did magnify our office unto the Lord, taking upon
- 3:52Speaker 1: us the responsibility answering the sins of the people upon
- 3:55Speaker 1: our own heads, if we did not teach them the
- 3:57Speaker 1: word of God with all diligence, Wherefore, by laboring with
- 4:01Speaker 1: our might, their blood might not come upon our garments.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Otherwise their blood would come upon our garments, and we
- 4:09Speaker 1: would not be found spotless at the last day. Jacob
- 4:15Speaker 1: Chapter two, the words which Jacob, the brother of Nephi,
- 4:20Speaker 1: spake unto the people of Nephi after the death of Nephi. Now,
- 4:24Speaker 1: my beloved brethren, I Jacob, according to the responsibility which
- 4:28Speaker 1: I am under to God, to magnify mine office with soberness,
- 4:32Speaker 1: and that I might rid my garments of your sins.
- 4:35Speaker 1: I come up into the temple this day, that I
- 4:37Speaker 1: might declare unto you the word of God. And ye
- 4:40Speaker 1: yourselves know that I have hitherto been diligent in the
- 4:43Speaker 1: office of my calling. But I this day am weighed
- 4:47Speaker 1: down with much more desire and anxiety for the welfare
- 4:50Speaker 1: of your souls than I have hitherto been. For Behold,
- 4:53Speaker 1: as yet ye have been obedient unto the word of
- 4:55Speaker 1: the Lord, which I have given unto you. But behold,
- 4:59Speaker 1: hearken ye unto me, and know that by the help
- 5:01Speaker 1: of the All Powerful Creator of Heaven and Earth, I
- 5:04Speaker 1: can tell you concerning your thoughts, how that yere beginning
- 5:08Speaker 1: to labor in sin, which sin appereth very abominable unto me, yea,
- 5:14Speaker 1: and abominable unto God yea. It grieveth my soul and
- 5:18Speaker 1: causeth me to shrink with shame before the presence of
- 5:20Speaker 1: my Maker, that I must testify unto you concerning the
- 5:23Speaker 1: wickedness of your hearts. And also it grieveth me that
- 5:27Speaker 1: I must use so much boldness of speech concerning you
- 5:30Speaker 1: before your wives and your children, many of whose feelings
- 5:34Speaker 1: are exceedingly tender and chaste and delicate before God, which
- 5:38Speaker 1: thing is pleasing unto God. And it supposeth me that
- 5:42Speaker 1: they have come up hither to hear the pleasing word
- 5:45Speaker 1: of God. Yea, the word which healeth the wounded soul.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Wherefore it burdeneth my soul that I should be constrained
- 5:53Speaker 1: because of the strict commandment which I have received from God,
- 5:57Speaker 1: to admonish you according to your crimes, to enlarge the
- 6:01Speaker 1: wounds of those who are already wounded, instead of consoling
- 6:04Speaker 1: and healing their wounds, And those who have not been wounded,
- 6:07Speaker 1: instead of feasting upon the pleasing word of God, have
- 6:11Speaker 1: daggers placed to pierce their souls and wound their delicate minds.
- 6:16Speaker 1: But notwithstanding the greatness of the task, I must do
- 6:20Speaker 1: according to the strict commands of God, and tell you
- 6:23Speaker 1: concerning your wickedness and abominations in the presence of the
- 6:26Speaker 1: pure in heart and the broken heart, and under the
- 6:30Speaker 1: glance of the piercing eye of the Almighty God. Wherefore
- 6:34Speaker 1: I must tell you the truth according to the plainness
- 6:37Speaker 1: of the Word of God. For behold, as I inquired
- 6:40Speaker 1: the Lord, thus came the word unto me, saying Jacob
- 6:44Speaker 1: get thou up into the temple on the morrow, and
- 6:47Speaker 1: declare the word which I shall give thee unto this people.
- 6:51Speaker 1: And now behold, my brethren, this is the word which
- 6:54Speaker 1: I declare unto you, that many of you have begun
- 6:58Speaker 1: to search for gold and for silver, and for all
- 7:00Speaker 1: manner of precious oars in the which this land, which
- 7:03Speaker 1: is a land of promise, unto you and to your seed,
- 7:06Speaker 1: doth abound most plentifully. And the hand of Providence hath
- 7:11Speaker 1: smiled upon you most pleasingly. That you have obtained many riches.
- 7:15Speaker 1: And because some of you have obtained more abundantly than
- 7:19Speaker 1: that of your brethren, ye are lifted up in the
- 7:21Speaker 1: pride of your hearts, and wear stiff necks and high
- 7:24Speaker 1: heads because of the costliness of your apparel, and persecute
- 7:28Speaker 1: your brethren, because ye suppose that ye are better than they.
- 7:32Speaker 1: And now, my brethren, do ye suppose that God justifieth
- 7:36Speaker 1: you in this thing? Behold, I say unto you, nay,
- 7:40Speaker 1: but He condemneth you. And if ye persist in these things,
- 7:43Speaker 1: his judgments must speedily come unto you. Oh, that He
- 7:48Speaker 1: would show you that he can pierce you, and with
- 7:51Speaker 1: one glance of his eye, he can smite you to
- 7:53Speaker 1: the dust. Oh that He would rid you from this
- 7:56Speaker 1: iniquity and abomination, And Oh that ye would listen unto
- 8:00Speaker 1: the word of His commands. And let not this pride
- 8:03Speaker 1: of your hearts destroy your souls. Think of your brethren
- 8:09Speaker 1: like unto yourselves, and be familiar with all and free
- 8:12Speaker 1: with your substance, that they may be rich liken to you.
- 8:17Speaker 1: But before ye seek for riches, seek ye for the
- 8:21Speaker 1: Kingdom of God. And after ye have obtained a hope
- 8:24Speaker 1: in Christ, ye shall obtain riches if ye seek them.
- 8:28Speaker 1: And ye will seek them for the intent to do good,
- 8:32Speaker 1: to clothe the naked, and to feed the hungry, and
- 8:35Speaker 1: to liberate the captive, and administer relief to the sick
- 8:38Speaker 1: and the afflicted. And now, my brethren, I have spoken
- 8:42Speaker 1: unto you concerning pride and those of you which have
- 8:45Speaker 1: afflicted your neighbor and persecuted him, because ye were proud
- 8:48Speaker 1: in your hearts of the things which God hath given you.
- 8:51Speaker 1: What say ye of it? Do ye not suppose that
- 8:54Speaker 1: such things are abominable unto Him who created all flesh.
- 8:59Speaker 1: And the one being ing is as precious in his
- 9:01Speaker 1: sight as the other, And all flesh is of the dust.
- 9:05Speaker 1: And for the self same end hath He created them,
- 9:09Speaker 1: that they should keep His commandments and glorify Him forever.
- 9:14Speaker 1: And now I make an end of speaking unto you
- 9:16Speaker 1: concerning this pride. And were it not that I must
- 9:19Speaker 1: speak unto you concerning a grosser crime, my heart would
- 9:23Speaker 1: rejoice exceedingly because of you. But the word of God
- 9:27Speaker 1: burdens me because of your grosser crimes. For behold, thus
- 9:31Speaker 1: saith the Lord, this people begin to wax an iniquity.
- 9:36Speaker 1: They understand not the scriptures, for they seek to excuse
- 9:39Speaker 1: themselves in committing horedoms because of the things which were
- 9:42Speaker 1: written concerning David and Solomon his son. Behold, David and
- 9:47Speaker 1: Solomon truly had many wives and concubines, which thing was
- 9:51Speaker 1: abominable before me, saith the Lord. Wherefore, thus saith the Lord,
- 9:56Speaker 1: I have led this people forth out of the land
- 9:59Speaker 1: of Jerusalem by the power of mine arm, that I
- 10:02Speaker 1: might raise up unto me a righteous branch from the
- 10:05Speaker 1: fruit of the loins of Joseph. Wherefore I, the Lord God,
- 10:09Speaker 1: will not suffer that this people shall do like unto
- 10:11Speaker 1: them of old. Wherefore, my brethren hear me and hearken
- 10:15Speaker 1: to the word of the Lord. For there shall not
- 10:18Speaker 1: any man among you have, save it be one wife
- 10:21Speaker 1: and concubines. He shall have none, For I, the Lord
- 10:25Speaker 1: God delight in the chastity of women, and hortems are
- 10:29Speaker 1: an abomination before me. Thus saith the Lord of Hosts.
- 10:34Speaker 1: Wherefore this people shall keep my commandments. Saith the Lord
- 10:37Speaker 1: of Hosts, or cursed be the land for their sakes.
- 10:42Speaker 1: For if I will, saith the Lord of Hosts, raise
- 10:44Speaker 1: up seed unto me, I will command my people. Otherwise
- 10:48Speaker 1: they shall hearken unto these things. For behold, I the Lord,
- 10:52Speaker 1: have seen the sorrow and heard the mourning of the
- 10:55Speaker 1: daughters of my people in the land of Jerusalem yea,
- 10:58Speaker 1: and in all the lands of my people, because of
- 11:00Speaker 1: the wickedness and abominations of their husbands. And I will
- 11:04Speaker 1: not suffer, saith the Lord of Hosts, that the cries
- 11:08Speaker 1: of the fair daughters of this people, which I have
- 11:10Speaker 1: led out of the land of Jerusalem, shall come up
- 11:12Speaker 1: unto me against the men of my people, Saith the
- 11:15Speaker 1: Lord of Hosts. For they shall not lead away captive
- 11:18Speaker 1: the daughters of my people because of their tenderness. Save
- 11:22Speaker 1: I shall visit them with a sore curse, even unto destruction,
- 11:26Speaker 1: for they shall not commit hortems liken to them of
- 11:28Speaker 1: old saith the Lord of hosts. And now behold, my brethren,
- 11:33Speaker 1: ye know that these commandments were given to our father Lehi.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Wherefore ye have known them before, and ye have COmON
- 11:41Speaker 1: to great condemnation, for ye have done these things which
- 11:44Speaker 1: ye ought not to have done. Behold, ye have done
- 11:48Speaker 1: greater iniquities than the Lamanites. Our brethren, Ye have broken
- 11:53Speaker 1: the hearts of your tender wives and lost the confidence
- 11:57Speaker 1: of your children because of your bad examples before them,
- 12:00Speaker 1: and the sobbings of their hearts ascend up to God
- 12:03Speaker 1: against you. And because of the strictness of the word
- 12:07Speaker 1: of God which cometh down against you, many hearts died
- 12:11Speaker 1: pierced with deep wounds. Jacob chapter three. But behold, I
- 12:20Speaker 1: Jacob would speak unto you that are pure in heart,
- 12:24Speaker 1: look unto God with firmness of mind, and pray unto
- 12:26Speaker 1: Him with exceeding faith, and he will console you in
- 12:29Speaker 1: your afflictions, and he will plead your cause and send
- 12:32Speaker 1: down justice upon those who seek your destruction. Oh, while
- 12:36Speaker 1: ye that are pure in heart lift up your heads
- 12:38Speaker 1: and receive the pleasing word of God, and feast upon
- 12:41Speaker 1: his love. For ye may if your minds are firm forever.
- 12:45Speaker 1: But woe, woe, woe unto you that are not pure
- 12:49Speaker 1: in heart, that are filthy this day before God. For
- 12:52Speaker 1: except you repent, the land is cursed for your sakes.
- 12:55Speaker 1: And the Lamanites, which are not filty like unto you. Nevertheless,
- 12:59Speaker 1: they are cursed with a sore cursing, shall scourge you
- 13:02Speaker 1: even unto destruction. And the time speedily cometh that except
- 13:06Speaker 1: ye repent, they shall possess the land of your inheritance,
- 13:09Speaker 1: and the Lord God will lead away the righteous out
- 13:12Speaker 1: from among you. Behold the Lamanites, your brethren, whom ye
- 13:16Speaker 1: hate because of their filthiness and the cursing which hath
- 13:19Speaker 1: come upon their skins, are more righteous than you, for
- 13:23Speaker 1: they have not forgotten the commandment of the Lord which
- 13:26Speaker 1: was given unto our Father, that they should have save
- 13:29Speaker 1: it were one wife and concubines, they should have none,
- 13:33Speaker 1: and there should not be hortems committed among them. And
- 13:36Speaker 1: now this commandment they observed to keep. Wherefore, because of
- 13:40Speaker 1: this observance, in keeping this commandment, the Lord God will
- 13:44Speaker 1: not destroy them, but will be merciful unto them, and
- 13:47Speaker 1: one day they shall become a blessed people. Behold, their
- 13:51Speaker 1: husbands love their wives, and their wives love their husbands,
- 13:54Speaker 1: and their husbands and their wives love their children. And
- 13:57Speaker 1: their unbelief and their hatred towards you is because of
- 14:00Speaker 1: the iniquity of their fathers. Wherefore, how much better are
- 14:03Speaker 1: you than they in the sight of your Great Creator, Oh,
- 14:07Speaker 1: my brethren, I fear that unless ye shall repent of
- 14:10Speaker 1: your sins, that their skins will be whiter than yours
- 14:12Speaker 1: when ye shall be brought with them before the throne
- 14:15Speaker 1: of God. Wherefore a commandment I give unto you, which
- 14:18Speaker 1: is the word of God, that ye revile no more
- 14:21Speaker 1: against them because of the darkness of their skins. Neither
- 14:25Speaker 1: shall ye revile against them because of their filthiness. But
- 14:29Speaker 1: ye shall remember your own filthiness, and remember that their
- 14:31Speaker 1: filthiness came because of their fathers. Wherefore ye shall remember
- 14:36Speaker 1: your children, how that ye have grieved their hearts because
- 14:39Speaker 1: of the example that ye have set before them. And
- 14:42Speaker 1: also remember that ye may, because of your filthiness, bring
- 14:45Speaker 1: your children unto destruction, and their sins be heaped upon
- 14:49Speaker 1: your heads at the last day, O my brethren, hearken
- 14:53Speaker 1: unto my words, arouse the faculties of your souls, Shake
- 14:57Speaker 1: yourselves that ye may awake from the slumber of death.
- 15:00Speaker 1: In loose yourselves from the pains of hell, that ye
- 15:03Speaker 1: may not become angels to the devil, to be cast
- 15:05Speaker 1: into the lake of fire and brimstone, which is the
- 15:08Speaker 1: second death. And now I, Jacob spake many more things
- 15:12Speaker 1: unto the people of Nephi, warning them against fornication, in
- 15:16Speaker 1: lashiviousness and every kind of sin, telling them the awful
- 15:20Speaker 1: consequences of them. And a hundredth part of the proceedings
- 15:23Speaker 1: of this people, which now begin to be numerous, cannot
- 15:26Speaker 1: be written upon these plates. But many of their proceedings
- 15:30Speaker 1: are written upon the larger plates, and their wars, and
- 15:33Speaker 1: their contentions, and the reigns of their kings. These plates
- 15:37Speaker 1: are called the plates of Jacob, and they were made
- 15:40Speaker 1: by the hand of Nephi. And I make an end
- 15:42Speaker 1: of speaking these words Jacob chapter four. Now behold it
- 15:49Speaker 1: came to pass that I, Jacob, having ministered much unto
- 15:52Speaker 1: my people in word, and I cannot write but a
- 15:55Speaker 1: little of my words because of the difficulty of engraving
- 15:57Speaker 1: our words upon plates. And we know that the things
- 16:01Speaker 1: which we write upon plates must remain. But whatsoever thing
- 16:05Speaker 1: we write upon any things, save it be upon plates,
- 16:07Speaker 1: must perish and vanish away. But we can write a
- 16:11Speaker 1: few words upon plates which will give our children and
- 16:14Speaker 1: also our beloved brethren, a small degree of knowledge concerning
- 16:17Speaker 1: us or concerning their fathers. Now in this thing we
- 16:21Speaker 1: do rejoice, and we labor diligently to engraven these words
- 16:25Speaker 1: upon plates, hoping that our beloved brethren and our children
- 16:28Speaker 1: will receive them with thankful hearts, and look upon them,
- 16:32Speaker 1: that they may learn with joy and not with sorrow,
- 16:35Speaker 1: neither with contempt concerning their first parents. For for this
- 16:39Speaker 1: intent have we written these things, that they may know
- 16:42Speaker 1: that we knew of Christ, and we had a hope
- 16:45Speaker 1: of his glory many hundred years before his coming. And
- 16:49Speaker 1: not only we ourselves had a hope of his glory,
- 16:51Speaker 1: but also all the holy prophets which were before us. Behold,
- 16:55Speaker 1: they believed in Christ and worshiped the Father in his name,
- 17:00Speaker 1: And also we worship the Father in his name. And
- 17:03Speaker 1: for this intent we keep the Law of Moses. Yet
- 17:06Speaker 1: pointing our souls to Him, and for this cause it
- 17:09Speaker 1: is sanctified unto us for righteousness, even as it was
- 17:12Speaker 1: accounted unto Abraham and the wilderness to be obedient unto
- 17:15Speaker 1: the commands of God. In offering up his son Isaac,
- 17:18Speaker 1: which is a similitude of God and his only begotten son.
- 17:23Speaker 1: Wherefore we search the prophets, and we have many revelations
- 17:26Speaker 1: and the spirit of prophecy. And having all these witnesses,
- 17:30Speaker 1: we obtain a hope, and our faith becometh unshaken, insomuch
- 17:34Speaker 1: that we truly can command in the name of Jesus,
- 17:37Speaker 1: and the very trees obey us, or the mountains or
- 17:39Speaker 1: the waves of the sea. Nevertheless, the Lord God sheweth
- 17:43Speaker 1: unto us our weakness, that we may know that it
- 17:45Speaker 1: is by His grace and his great condescensions unto the
- 17:48Speaker 1: children of men, that we have power to do these things. Behold,
- 17:53Speaker 1: great and marvelous are the works of the Lord. How
- 17:56Speaker 1: unsearchable are the depths of the mysteries of Him. And
- 18:00Speaker 1: it is impossible that man should find out all his ways.
- 18:03Speaker 1: And no man knoweth of his ways, save it be
- 18:05Speaker 1: revealed unto him. Wherefore, brethren, despise not the revelations of God.
- 18:12Speaker 1: For behold, by the power of his word, Man came
- 18:15Speaker 1: upon the face of the earth, which earth was created
- 18:18Speaker 1: by the power of his word. Wherefore, if God being
- 18:21Speaker 1: able to speak, and the world was and to speak
- 18:24Speaker 1: in man was created, Oh, then why not able to
- 18:27Speaker 1: command the earth or the workmanship of his hands upon
- 18:30Speaker 1: the face of it, according to His will and pleasure. Wherefore, brethren,
- 18:35Speaker 1: seek not to counsel the Lord, but to take counsel
- 18:38Speaker 1: from his hand. For behold, ye yourselves know that He
- 18:41Speaker 1: counseleth in wisdom and in justice, and in great mercy
- 18:45Speaker 1: over all his works. Wherefore, beloved brethren, be reconciled unto
- 18:51Speaker 1: Him through the atonement of Christ, his only begotten son,
- 18:56Speaker 1: and ye may obtain a resurrection according to the power
- 18:59Speaker 1: of the resurrection which is in Christ, and be presented
- 19:02Speaker 1: as the first fruits of Christ unto God, having faith
- 19:07Speaker 1: and obtained a good hope of glory in Him before
- 19:10Speaker 1: He manifesteth himself in the flesh. And now, beloved, marvel
- 19:15Speaker 1: not that I tell you these things? For why not
- 19:18Speaker 1: speak of the atonement of Christ and attain to a
- 19:21Speaker 1: perfect knowledge of Him, as to attain to the knowledge
- 19:24Speaker 1: of a resurrection in the world to come. Behold, my brethren,
- 19:29Speaker 1: he that prophesieth, let him prophesy to the understanding of men.
- 19:33Speaker 1: For the Spirit speaketh the truth and lieth not. Wherefore
- 19:38Speaker 1: it speaketh of things as they really are, and of
- 19:41Speaker 1: things as they really will be. Wherefore these things are
- 19:44Speaker 1: manifested unto us plainly for the salvation of our souls.
- 19:49Speaker 1: But behold, we are not witnesses alone in these things,
- 19:52Speaker 1: for God also spake them unto prophets of old. But behold,
- 19:56Speaker 1: the Jews were a stiff necked people, and they despised
- 20:00Speaker 1: the words of plainness, and killed the prophets, and sought
- 20:03Speaker 1: for things that they could not understand. Wherefore, because of
- 20:07Speaker 1: their blindness, which blindness came by looking beyond the mark,

- 20:50Speaker 1: my beloved, how is it possible that these, after having
- 20:53Speaker 1: rejected the sure foundation, can ever build upon it, that
- 20:57Speaker 1: it may become the head of their corner. Behold, my

- 21:04Speaker 1: I do not, by any means get shaken from my
- 21:07Speaker 1: firmness in the spirit and stumble because of my over
- 21:10Speaker 1: anxiety for you and of Jacob Chapters one through four
