- 9:34He is the founder and owner of the father of the Wolves Outdoor
- 9:40Adventures company. Going to hear a bit more about
- 9:44that and get to know that about Josh actually know Josh, from a
- 9:48previous project that he was involved in and we've maintained
- 9:55communication over the years, rather Loosely sorts so to
- 9:59speak. And he is Is he is, he even?
- 10:02He is Pagan, and he'd, and he has this really awesome business
- 10:07that he runs reconnecting or helping people to reconnect with
- 10:12the outdoors and sort of outdoor adventure, lifestyle, sort of
- 10:16thing. So, I don't want to speak too
- 10:17much without him being here to speak on it because I'm really
- 10:22excited to know more about what, father of the Wolves Outdoor
- 10:26Adventures is. It's all going to be all his
- 10:29business information is going to be linked to To this episode.
- 10:32So check the show notes. Check the description, etc, etc.
- 10:36So on and so forth. But let's go ahead and welcome
- 10:40Josh. Garage room to the podcast.
- 10:44Here we go. Yeah, folks.
- 10:49All right, so like I said, here we are.
- 10:51I've got Josh room with me. Joined all the way out there and
- 10:56somewhere in the mountains, North Carolina.
- 10:59I'm going to say. I'm gonna venture to say is that
- 11:01is that accurate? It's Foothills.
- 11:05But Foothills. Yeah, I'm the Foothills but I'm
- 11:09glad you lived up that way for a little while.
- 11:12I'm glad you say Foothills because I'm from, I'm from up.
- 11:15Well, I'm not even from upstate New York.
- 11:18Work. But I'm from Long Island and I
- 11:21moved to like the lower foothills of the Catskill
- 11:23Mountain Range. Okay, so when everybody's like,
- 11:26oh, you live in the mountains, I'm like nah, man.
- 11:28They're the Foothills you want to go to the mountains.
- 11:30You got to go out to like the Rockies are, you gotta go like,
- 11:33those are mountains, man. Appalachian mountain range, like
- 11:39those are mountains. Now, like over here, like this
- 11:41is, this is like, you know, this is like the calluses on Rip Van,
- 11:45Winkle's toes the same nothing, you know?
- 11:47So, I actually live in a town here in North Carolina called
- 11:51Kings Mountain. All right, so there's there is
- 11:57that mountain, another one called Crowder's now.
- 12:00And it's to me because I grew up in this area.
- 12:04So it's more like Bluffs, man, you know, it's just like, just
- 12:07like a little mountain, like a little heel that sits up high
- 12:10enough that they could call it a mountain and yeah, you know, and
- 12:13their state parks and there's hiking and there's some camping
- 12:16and, you know, so many people Because I'm just outside the
- 12:19Charlotte here. Okay.
- 12:22But I can get to, you know, that relation and about an hour and a
- 12:27half which is what I love because I was living up there
- 12:29for a while. So I didn't want to get too far
- 12:33away from it. Yeah.
- 12:34But so many people like run to the Crowder's Mountain or the
- 12:38Kings back? Like oh I like this mounted a
- 12:40don't like that. Do something about this and you
- 12:45can you are doing something. About it which is which is which
- 12:49is like the large larger scale reason why why are you even here
- 12:55today? So, you know, just for
- 12:57everybody's edification for everybody's understanding.
- 13:00I've known Josh Here. And Now for we were just talking
- 13:06about this before you came on the biggest part of three, maybe
- 13:11four between three and four years and this the the way that
- 13:15we met, you know how Kind of became friends as it were was it
- 13:21was a bit of an interesting tale, but it had to do with a
- 13:27musical project. The band I know you still are
- 13:29pretty active with like musical stuff like you've got projects
- 13:33and stuff. But so for everyone's
- 13:35edification, if you wouldn't mind just share a little bit
- 13:37about who you are. We're going to get into kind of
- 13:41why are you here in just a minute?
- 13:43But yeah, just tell everybody a little bit, you know, I know
- 13:45you're here because this is a random heathen.
- 13:48His podcast, you tend to gravitate our identify as a
- 13:53heathen yourself. But yeah, introduce yourself to
- 13:55the Fine people out here. So Josh groom I have been raised
- 14:01outdoor pretty much my whole life spend, 90% of my time
- 14:07Outdoors. Even my professional career to
- 14:09that pays the bills involves being outdoors and then, as, as
- 14:15you were saying, you know, we met through music.
- 14:18I'm in multiple musical projects, we met through my
- 14:24black metal project which is changed name since since we last
- 14:28met, you know, right through a whole re Brandon since then,
- 14:33that is known as Teresa Runa now, then I'm also in a death
- 14:38metal project called Mafia which actually one of the members is
- 14:44from Venezuela and he moved here to America.
- 14:48Talk about four years ago and the project was active there.
- 14:52So when him and his family uprooted and came here, he
- 14:56instantly was like I can't let this project go so he wanted to
- 14:59get it, keep it going and he met all the founding members and the
- 15:04bass player which is also interrupts Runa with me.
- 15:08They had a little issue with a singer that they had at the time
- 15:11and called me up and said, hey, can you help us with a show?
- 15:15And I was only going to help them with their CD release show.
- 15:18And then they say, you know, they're like, hey will you join
- 15:20us full time? So I have those two active music
- 15:25projects as well as I am. Working on a solo project.
- 15:30Let's go gamar, which will be Nordic folk in diving into a lot
- 15:37of folk instruments and learning and causing myself headaches.
- 15:42But for the best part because I love it, I've known to take
- 15:46instruments hiking on Sit on top of a mountain, you know, beat
- 15:56myself up playing these things, alerting them so that I can get
- 15:59that project out there. Yeah, that's funny.
- 16:06That you mentioned instruments. Taking hike and I just acquired
- 16:12a bison skin drum. From a very, very talented
- 16:20Craftsmen and I went on a recent hike in my area, you know,
- 16:28nothing, nothing fancy, it's pretty pretty, beginner level
- 16:33just, you know, flat Trails, maybe some, you know, dips and
- 16:37spikes or whatever in the terrain.
- 16:39But all in all it was about a 5-mile hike.
- 16:41But I was like, I got I had the drum with me, I'm just like, you
- 16:44know, I'm not gonna I'm not gonna like record anything per
- 16:46se, but I ended up Stop and along on the return.
- 16:51You know, trip with by the water because it was you know it's a
- 16:56flowing river right whatever. And just you know beating on the
- 17:00drum over the water and stuff like that and it's it's therapy
- 17:03man. Like it's it's it's very
- 17:06therapeutic. Come to find out you know me not
- 17:09being a musician but and you know that's that's what I
- 17:14founded it and it's a big inspiration.
- 17:17Behind that my solo project because I do the same thing,
- 17:22it's just you get out there man, you're sitting there.
- 17:24You're I call it in my environment.
- 17:27If I'm in the forest, you know where I'm in the mountains are
- 17:29just backyard. You know?
- 17:32That's that's where I'm most happy man.
- 17:35So and then yes it is a big part of my life.
- 17:37So what I bring the two together, you know, in like I
- 17:41said, some of the instruments like I have a talk that I am
- 17:45currently manage kicking my butt.
- 17:47I'm not even gonna lie about it, but, you know, I just I've
- 17:50always been obsessed with the sounds of it but, you know, I
- 17:53got a little bag and I take them and I just sit there and then
- 17:58sometimes, my job keeps me on the road and which leaving me,
- 18:02I'm like, I don't even want a hotel.
- 18:04I'm just going to go camp and I take instruments.
- 18:07And recently I was sent to Jacksonville Florida and I
- 18:12picked I found a campground man that had like alligator-infested
- 18:17waters on. On one side and then it had the
- 18:19ocean on the other side that was July.
- 18:21So yeah, man, it was like, this is cool.
- 18:24Yeah, not even the swamp, exactly.
- 18:47Please don't feed them anything toxic and like they don't cry
- 18:50like you're just at that point you're just like, connecting
- 18:53with nature. Exactly.
- 18:55You know, there was this one moment and because I don't have
- 19:00a drum say like yeah, I'm actually jealous of your drum
- 19:03and I've seen you post that things like that.
- 19:05Yeah, beautiful. Gotta get one.
- 19:07You gotta get one. You gotta, you know.
- 19:10Yeah. What's gonna happen?
- 19:28And I was just sitting there. Yeah man that that time doesn't
- 19:55time doesn't translate the same when you are out there in nature
- 20:01you know at least not for me like I went on that five-mile
- 20:04hike and I'm like man I've been walking forever and I had a nap
- 20:08or whatever that was that was tracking my you know miles or
- 20:11whatever. They might of course you know my
- 20:14time whatever I'm at the end of it on like I made it back home
- 20:17and I was like wow two and a half hours and five miles later.
- 20:19I was like, I feel like I just, you know, walk half the Earth or
- 20:23whatever it's like you almost you know, I think it's some I
- 20:26don't know how you feel because like this is kind of like it's
- 20:29more of a, it's more than just a hobby for you, right?
- 20:32Like being outdoors like it's it's, it's it's a lifestyle and
- 20:36it's actually something that you're looking to at least in my
- 20:39understanding it's like it a livelihood as it were.
- 20:41You've got a business. We're going to talk about father
- 20:43of the Wolves Outdoors Adventure Outdoor Adventures here in just
- 20:47a second but you your sense of time gets Right, you could even
- 20:53go by so quick or you can be like, I've been out here forever
- 20:57but you've only been out there for, you know, a minute, 30
- 21:00minutes, an hour, whatever, right?
- 21:01You just it's so strange. How time just yes.
- 21:08And that was just kind of the idea for me for the business
- 21:13was, you know, a lot of people get consumed in their fast-paced
- 21:17life. Man, of go to work.
- 21:19Take care of your kids, take care of the house, do what you
- 21:22do? All these normal things.
- 21:24And a lot of times people, you know, they may make time for
- 21:27themselves. Just sit down to watch like a
- 21:29football game or something that's not me for me.
- 21:32It's I got to go Outdoors if if I'm stranded indoors for a long
- 21:37period of time and I start going crazy like and that was the
- 21:41thing is I was like, more people should take experience the
- 21:45outdoors and in my time but business officially You know, I
- 21:53made it more of an official thing started in 2020, but it's
- 21:57actually been wound to seems for years for years.
- 22:01I've took people on adventures and taught them things and show
- 22:06them things or people see me. Hey, I see you went did this.
- 22:10I've never done that. Can I go try that some time with
- 22:12you? And that's kind of how the
- 22:15business kind of came about. It was, you know, like, hey,
- 22:18what if I do this more than just over Once in a while because
- 22:25like we're saying, man, there's something about being out there
- 22:29where that time is just zooming by, you know, I spent nine hours
- 22:36on the lake kayaking up in the mountains and it didn't feel
- 22:41like nine hours to me, you know, towards the end.
- 22:44I mean, nine hours, you know, roll it, you start feeling the,
- 22:48you know, the police have been here for a little bit.
- 22:49Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Learn.
- 22:53But, you know, it was one of those things.
- 22:55Like, I felt like I could go another nine hours, like, you
- 22:59know, even while body was starting to feel tired.
- 23:01But mentally, I was so happy charges are man, and there was
- 23:07even a storm coming in. And like, I even got, like,
- 23:09smashes the rods, man. I felt like I was on a dragon
- 23:12folk fighting for my life. There mermaidman crazy.
- 23:18It was fun, man. You know, so Yeah, that was its
- 23:23nature. Is just beautiful man and
- 23:25there's a lot of people in this world that I feel is missing out
- 23:29on that and I do get a lot of clients that are City driven
- 23:34people who are, they have no clue.
- 23:37They have no clue what to do. They don't know what to wear.
- 23:40What the parade? Where did you go?
- 23:42What happened to trust? Or what directions from Google
- 23:45is the trust and, you know, can I take them?
- 23:48And I show them things that they've never seen their life,
- 23:52you know, I Client two weeks ago, the guy has never been out
- 23:56of the city. Took him on a camping Adventure
- 24:01Show team the Blue Ridge Parkway for the first time in his life
- 24:04show team, huge waterfall that he's like, man, I've only seen
- 24:08this in like commercials pictures.
- 24:10Yeah. And I watched him just light up
- 24:17as he watched this waterfall, man, and it's a magical moment.
- 24:22When I see the clients like that, that are, they're just,
- 24:26they're overwhelmed with excitement because this is
- 24:29something they've never seen before.
- 24:31And I never knew it was as amazing or to be as appreciated
- 24:36as it is, or it needs to be. Yeah, flux, that's tremendous.
- 24:41I think you do it. I think you're doing a great
- 24:43thing so it's father of the Wolves Outdoor Adventures.
- 24:47You've got a Facebook page, you've got a according to your
- 24:51Facebook page. Out of Big Cartel website, and
- 24:56you've got a, an email, or I guess for booking sessions or
- 25:01booking adventures and stuff. So, is there anything else out
- 25:05here for people to find you or is that it's oh no, no.
- 25:08They're actually, I will be shutting down the Big Cartel.
- 25:12I've actually got actual website being built and it will be
- 25:15fathered world.com. It is because it's not
- 25:19accessible. And yet not yet.
- 25:22Built right now I just got a sample of it about a week ago to
- 25:26kind of show me their layouts and it's definitely going to be
- 25:31one for all they conclude Earth will see all the different
- 25:35packages I have action and that way they can book through there
- 25:39because what up one thing that I'm not changing.
- 25:42So how I booked and how they did it to pass Big Cartel and
- 25:45through the email is after, you know, the depositor to payment
- 25:49is received we set up a Zhu Min and I so I go and I go through
- 25:56with them. I also have forms that they fill
- 25:58out which the website, I'm going to have the forms automatically
- 26:01on there so they can fill them out and then ship them in as
- 26:04they're doing their payment and it's basically just simple
- 26:07questions. Like, have you ever been
- 26:09camping? Are you physically fit?
- 26:11You have any health issues? Yeah.
- 26:13Are you terrified of snakes? Are you allergic to bees?
- 26:18Yeah. Can you go to the bathroom in
- 26:19the woods without an actual bathroom around?
- 26:22Well, you know, it's a bunch of temperature checks kind of deal,
- 26:26right? Cuz, you know, I, you know, as a
- 26:29business as a business, you're always going to protect
- 26:31yourself, but you also got to protect your clients.
- 26:34And of course, one thing I want to know is I want to know these
- 26:36important things about my clients.
- 26:39Before we go on this adventure because I have Adventures pick
- 26:44all over that. Some are extreme for the people
- 26:48who, what? So I have, like a couple Or like
- 26:52working their way up, you know, and they're working the way to
- 26:55the bigger harder, you know, task for the people who already
- 26:59experienced introduced a like, hey, they want to go out there
- 27:01and they wanted like, you know, like we're a snake for a belt
- 27:04and wrestle raccoons and stuff. You know, once we do the zoom
- 27:19meeting, it's, you know, it's a face-to-face.
- 27:21Hey, this This is who I am. I tell them a little bit about
- 27:24me, you know, and find out a little bit about them.
- 27:26So that way, we're not complete strangers now.
- 27:29Yeah, and there's a level of trust, you got to build, I
- 27:32assume, right? With with you, when you do stuff
- 27:34like this, because, I mean, you're a guide as of where you
- 27:37are a physical guide into the outdoors, for potentially
- 27:42people, that, like, you mentioned previously that have
- 27:45never experienced anything, remotely close to this, they're
- 27:48putting their entire Trust. In you right?
- 27:52Right. Exactly.
- 27:54So you know and I tell him you know, he's like hey that's the
- 27:58whole point of these forms and stuff because if it is not
- 28:02uncommon for us to run across a rattlesnake and it really run
- 28:06across around snake and a little background of me, I used to
- 28:10breed reptiles as a hobby. So and venomous goes one of my
- 28:16favorite things to have so it's not really meant for you to pick
- 28:19up a rattlesnake. So Look at you man.
- 28:23You're like the freaking snake Whisperer over here or
- 28:25something. I don't know.
- 28:26Like love animals made in general, dude.
- 28:30So and and I've always tend to go for the animals that people
- 28:35are terrified of or yeah. You know, they just buddy of
- 28:40mine, a buddy of mine. He's got two scorpions you ever
- 28:44doubt. You ever dealt with them.
- 28:46I've had a few scorpion. Yes, he's got a Japanese forest
- 28:49scorpion which is I think Think they look menacing but they're
- 28:53not right to you know like they look like they're going to kill
- 28:58you but they're just like big soft.
- 29:00He's more or less as far as the arachnid thing goes but now he's
- 29:04got another one that's like three times smaller than the
- 29:08forest scorpion. He's like that's some picture
- 29:10that she'll kill you all right. Wow.
- 29:22But yeah. So you know that's one of the
- 29:25things I let him know is like hey I can identify the snakes
- 29:29and you know, if I'm on a trail especially trail that traveled a
- 29:33good bit, you know, if I see a copperhead around snakes man, I
- 29:38moved them, take them away from the trail, that way no one gets
- 29:41hurt, you know, that way, no one's taking the chance to get
- 29:44hurt the snakes. Got not going to get hurt the
- 29:46humans, not going to get hurt. You know, so I try to find out
- 29:49these things because, you know, I don't want to Take someone out
- 29:52and then they see a snake and then all of a sudden they run.
- 29:55Yeah, we're hey this is right. Like, you know, this is, you
- 30:00know, this is where they live. We're just going to walk in
- 30:02through their home more or less, you know.
- 30:04And they you might you might run across them.
- 30:06And how do you deal with it? Exactly.
- 30:09And, you know, so I try to find out those things and, you know,
- 30:12a lot of these things to just skip was, can you go to the
- 30:15bathroom in the force? That is a big problem.
- 30:18For a lot of people that I run into is like What do you mean?
- 30:23I'm like yeah there's you know if you want to actually go print
- 30:26it happen we're not going to have a bathroom exit know it's
- 30:30how to treat man right there or whatever.
- 30:39You know there's a lot of things I had to go through all of the
- 30:48years in my head and all the people that I have already took
- 30:52on these adventures and think about all these things that that
- 30:56has came up and happened and how I can get ahead of that with new
- 31:00clients, you know, and also, you know, safety is a thing for last
- 31:09year. We I have.
- 31:11So make start back a little bit. I have one of my best friends,
- 31:14man. I met him seven years ago.
- 31:18He is a city guy never been Outdoors.
- 31:22I invited him on the trip and then I tell you like, if
- 31:25anything could ever went wrong on his first trip, it didn't
- 31:29happen, like Murphy's Law. Right?
- 31:32Right. Oh well my thing is so with my
- 31:34business and it was a listen to this.
- 31:36So from a business I'm not I don't take any client somewhere
- 31:39that I have not been and that I know very well.
- 31:44I you know, if it's myself or like one of my friends then
- 31:48we're going to go Venture, new places that I am all the time.
- 31:50Checking out new places. Aces to add two Cliffs.
- 31:52Yeah, and this is one ones where another friend was there, and
- 31:56we're like, oh, it'll be fine. We're gonna go to a place that
- 31:59we took it to this whole place but never been the trail was
- 32:02misleading. It never got us to the
- 32:04destination to the water. We stepped past a timber
- 32:10rattlesnake. Wow, right?
- 32:15Like really want over like this. It was just like laying there,
- 32:19chilling. He's like, It was actually a no
- 32:22by the way, I'm a rattlesnake chicken so you know it was like
- 32:33she didn't even start rattling it.
- 32:35So I got her sit down this you woke up like what are you doing
- 32:38right to know? We're having a bad track.
- 32:46We went through all kinds of stuff man.
- 32:48I finally just got to place made Camp then it Arted pouring down
- 32:52rain. So who's like anything that
- 32:54could have made this guy ever want to go in the woods again?
- 32:58Shut up. And he has turned out to be one
- 33:03of my friends that I can say, yo, I'm about to take a big
- 33:06group. Do you want to tag along?
- 33:07And he's like, hey man, I'm there, it takes off work, he's a
- 33:11full-time tattoo artist. He'll take a day off and we go
- 33:15out really. But yeah.
- 33:18So so yes, it gets it. Batman.
- 33:21It was like you know take him he helps me.
- 33:25We were on a trip. We had two guys.
- 33:28Had never been doing this stuff before primitive camping.
- 33:32Hike to a waterfall. A lady had felt off the top of
- 33:35the mountain and Court. Yeah, her mother standing there,
- 33:40like my daughter, my daughter, my daughter, straight down the
- 33:44mountain and I just immediately like, even though they want my
- 33:48clients, man, I'm Friends of the force is what I call.
- 33:51It, you know, I might hate this lady needs help and he looks at
- 33:56me because I'm already like breaking the gear off and he's
- 33:59like, I'm with you. So I give these other two guys
- 34:01like, hey, you staying here. And I know one of them very well
- 34:04to good friend of mine as well, gave a walkie-talkie and we
- 34:08start running down the trail because it's so steep.
- 34:10We had to go back down the trail, then we had to hike
- 34:13through a creek, to get to the woman.
- 34:16We were scaling log like 10, 15 feet above the ground against
- 34:20just It's nasty, thick Force for decides to strike his hammer
- 34:25thunder and lightning striking everywhere, man.
- 34:29Then, you know, then you know, it's like, alright.
- 34:32Yeah, it's alright now. Yeah, it was like meant to be
- 34:34man, we make it to the lady. She had broken, ankle and a
- 34:40stick had ripped the whole back of her cows.
- 34:44Now, was in bad shape, Pastor up as best.
- 34:49I could give her water because she kept trying, I pass out.
- 34:52We with her like four hours until EMT.
- 34:54They got there. So we have to hold up, hold on.
- 34:59Just a second. Are you saying that if you
- 35:03hadn't been, In the right place at the right time that this
- 35:09person could have. Died.
- 35:12Yes. Yeah.
- 35:13The ENT actually told me that had we had not got there because
- 35:18we were so far without said there was, there was another,
- 35:22who was a father and a husband, he was panic in wanting to help
- 35:26and, you know, he had his family with him and I looked at the guy
- 35:29and I was like, hey man if you can help me by going back to
- 35:33your car driving to you get signal and call 911, we will be
- 35:37with her. Yeah.
- 35:38Because I don't want to put this And I was like, oh right, he
- 35:42woke. He was in a frantic mode like he
- 35:45was ready to jump off the panic mode.
- 35:47Yeah. Adrenaline everything, right?
- 35:51Yeah, and I was like, Whoa, man. This is how you can help.
- 35:55And so, yeah, we were with her for four hours before EMT
- 35:59actually made it to us, and they had to repel lines down and a
- 36:03gurney, and then they come down and we help them.
- 36:06We also carry her out of the trail halfway.
- 36:10The head of tea, Come meet us, halfway through that but they
- 36:13did tell us that. Hey, if we wouldn't have been
- 36:15for us that it could have went really more, you know, serious
- 36:19and worse. How so yeah.
- 36:23What are those? You just get there in a moment.
- 36:25Luckily, I know some basic first aid things, I was just jumped
- 36:29right into it man and to help her out roll-on.
- 36:32So, So hopefully on the ventures, you know, you don't
- 36:36always run into that but sometimes man, you know, you're
- 36:39in the wilderness, you trip something as easy as tripping
- 36:41over a rock. Oh yeah he goes.
- 36:44The serious injury mud mud is slippery man rocks when they're
- 36:48wet it's like ice it's like glass man.
- 36:52Right? So you know everybody that's
- 36:55listening and or watch and father of the Wolves Outdoor
- 37:00Adventures. The Facebook page is going to be
- 37:04Added to the show notes and to the description, but father of
- 37:10the Wolves Outdoors at gmail.com is how anybody in the area that
- 37:16would want to contact you directly can do that?
- 37:20Is that, is that correct? Yeah, and this, this, this, this
- 37:25little, I never like, I didn't know about this, like that's
- 37:28some serious. Like this is, this is the kind
- 37:30of stuff that you would like watch on TV.
- 37:34On like, you know CNBC or something to be like yeah, man.
- 37:38Like this guy just like found this woman off the side of a
- 37:41mountain and you what inverter them?
- 37:43She'd be dead. Like you saved a woman's life.
- 37:46He saved a person's life and your, your knowledge and your
- 37:53awareness of how to survive in the wilderness.
- 37:59Literally saved the life and that right there, ladies and
- 38:02gentlemen, you know, listening and watching like, that's a,
- 38:04that's a testament to the Josh's abilities.
- 38:08I think if they, you know, if he had any questions about this guy
- 38:12legit, I think he's too legit, why?
- 38:17I'm hanging up that, you know, learn about it and see it for
- 38:24what it needs to be singing is so I think it's really wild dude
- 38:27that you were Mention in a while earlier that everything kind of
- 38:31went official or you in 2020, which as we all know was an
- 38:36absolute shit storm of events. That's a nice way to put it.
- 38:41Yeah, it right. And and so Like how do you like,
- 38:48where do you go from there? Like 20, 20?
- 38:51Let me, let me start. Let me launch a business.
- 38:54Let me launch something that like, do you think that that was
- 38:59fortuitous and timing because the way the world was at the
- 39:03time like, hey Nick now is a perfect time for people to get
- 39:05into this. Or was it just like well it's
- 39:07now or never or what was going through your mind.
- 39:10The time, like I'm just said, that's that's wild.
- 39:12Well, one of the thing is, you know, obviously being as active
- 39:15position as I am. 20/20 basically like brand just
- 39:20everything music in the world straight to the gutters man.
- 39:24Mmm, so my main band to reach Runa.
- 39:28We instantly, you know, we went through a Rebrand and we started
- 39:32like we're just going to restart over.
- 39:34We're going to rewrite and do a whole new album.
- 39:37So at that point you know, we can't play shows.
- 39:40We played like three shows for the whole year so he's like
- 39:43well, I was like, man. Like you know, like we were
- 39:47talking before I came on, man. I am a creature of staying busy.
- 39:52I can't not stay busy. Yay.
- 39:55You know for years it's been on my mind to launch this as a
- 40:00full-time business. You know, my friend, I was just
- 40:03talking about that was there to help me with the lady?
- 40:05That, you know, who I've turned into this, like outdoor monster
- 40:08himself, man. You know, this guy's always be
- 40:11to go out and we were on a venture and one day he was just
- 40:15like man. It's on, bro.
- 40:17Like, you need to get this out there, you need to take off with
- 40:20it and I like the fires and kick the tires, right man.
- 40:23So it was like, you know what? And I'm outside, right?
- 40:28So, I'm out of time, hiking or camping, and for the first time
- 40:32in my entire life, man, I go to two state parks in 2020, and I
- 40:39can't even get in because there's a line of people because
- 40:43of the at capacity bullshit. Ruled has been going on.
- 40:47Oh, and I'm talking about like, you know, it didn't matter what
- 40:49day of the week, I went to the state park, I could get indoors.
- 40:53And now, for the first time, I'm either accepting to sit here for
- 40:56three hours and waiting for this to clear out, or I'm going to
- 41:01not get in. And so, it was like, Now's the
- 41:04Time and people, they can't go to bars.
- 41:08They can't go to music venue. So people are trying to explore
- 41:12the outdoors now, and you know, Thing weighed on me.
- 41:16How many times did people ask me?
- 41:18Well, where can I go do this? Or what do I buy, what do I
- 41:22wear? And I was like, now is the time
- 41:26this is the perfect time because yeah, I have a professional
- 41:29career that pays the bills but one day, maybe this could take
- 41:33this place if I don't start it. Now, like you said it's now or
- 41:36never, you know, I'll be, I'm either going to sink or I'm
- 41:39going to swim and never in my life.
- 41:42I've ever sunk. I've always swim.
- 41:44So yeah. Try to swim and and I do the
- 41:47same for this business and constantly evolving and adding
- 41:51more to it. But yeah, man.
- 41:52It was, it was one of those take a chance in 2020 because a lot
- 41:56of hell, not 2020, that's crazy. Yeah, and I think that's really
- 42:04that really speaks a lot. So it speaks a lot to your to
- 42:08your character to your, you know, you as an individual and
- 42:12your approach to life. But you know, you and I've been,
- 42:18you know, we established a friendship or relationship years
- 42:22ago and at the time what it was was purely on like the music
- 42:27level and then over the years as we've remained connected through
- 42:31social media. Dia is again?
- 42:32I'm in Tennessee, or North Carolina.
- 42:33It's not like we talk to each other face-to-face, you know.
- 42:37I just, I notice a lot of your social media posts and I see a
- 42:41lot of heathen related things. And I'm like, man, you know, the
- 42:45guys weren't Hammer, he's big into the outdoors.
- 42:48He's, you know, weighing freaking Nordic.
- 42:53Folk instruments that he may or may not like that that's causing
- 42:57him to pull his hair out. Preferably or you know what I
- 43:00mean? And and and so it like it
- 43:03elicits a question, you know, like how much of that how much
- 43:08of You know, you're the how much of Norse or dramatic, Heathen
- 43:15replays, a factor into your approach to this business and if
- 43:21any if you're willing to talk about it, you know, and and was
- 43:24it always there. Did it like it was a was a, an
- 43:29ember kind of sparked into a fire.
- 43:31I was just um, I guess I'm curious as much as everybody
- 43:35listening and watching is like, what's the deal with that?
- 43:39Talk about it, you know. Oh absolutely.
- 43:42Yeah. So for me either he started
- 43:46actually really early really early in my life, you know, back
- 43:51when you can probably 12 13 man, I have always been as obsessed
- 43:57with Scandinavia and as culture and learning about it.
- 44:02And, you know, I was always studying mythologies and you
- 44:07know, the calming comment thing called in school is obviously.
- 44:11Mythology but of course, I found my love interest in Norse
- 44:15mythology and when you when you start looking at their stories
- 44:19you know obviously both have similarities and they have their
- 44:22differences but to me the Norse spoke more as far as being like
- 44:29as we were talking about the outdoors and having to me, I
- 44:32felt like has way more appreciation for wildlife, the
- 44:38Wilderness and the outdoors. And that that and consents in
- 44:42the hole is who I am. I always respect nature to its
- 44:46fullest. So start at a very young age
- 44:51throughout the years, always loved it, you know, the even one
- 44:55of my past fans, I wrote a whole album.
- 45:00It was all like and being it was really is actually a Deathcore.
- 45:05Yeah. It was a death for album, man.
- 45:06We've had shirt the guy who's on his ass.
- 45:09Wow. So You know, very like that,
- 45:12it's been a pain for me. This was it, something that you
- 45:15know, a year or two ago I just like, oh, this is who I am on a
- 45:19bandwagon. Bingo, you know, like I don't
- 45:24like things as popular. Let me just cash in on this sort
- 45:27of thing right now, because we can obviously now get shirts.
- 45:34And during a lot easier, you know.
- 45:36So it's happening right man? That's printing.
- 45:40So you can. And obviously get your hands on
- 45:42things a little bit easier, but then it's just like now I see a
- 45:45guy wearing you know the hammer and I'm like you watch the show
- 45:49Vikings, don't you do? Yeah, you get that you know like
- 45:54well why are you wearing it? You know, are you do you like
- 45:57the show to you know they like the TV show or are you about it
- 46:01right? And then they start telling you
- 46:04what are you about? You know, there's always that
- 46:06there's like, it's like it's like layers of an onion.
- 46:08You gotta peel away. At the layers to understand and
- 46:13I feel like with you man, like so much of what this religion as
- 46:20we could identify. It kind of captures is a very
- 46:25Macho hyper-masculine, sort of thing, which do it to a large
- 46:32degree. To me is is toxic, you know,
- 46:37because there's no gender here like This is not, it's just for
- 46:42the guys and it's just for the dudes.
- 46:44And man, I got a beard, you know?
- 46:48I'm a beard. But like like that's how like I
- 46:50feel like some people just like walk around like, yeah, I can
- 46:53grow a great beard and I know I've, I bought this awesome
- 46:57Hammer from a Swedish company and and, you know, hail Odin.
- 47:02But right, there's there's obviously way more layers that
- 47:07and that's superficial. It's on the surface, the the He
- 47:11needs the action the what you do, right?
- 47:14Connecting to Nature getting back to the way our ancestors,
- 47:19literally lived day-to-day like this wasn't like a thing that
- 47:23they just like decided to do one day.
- 47:24It's what they had to do to survive.
- 47:28Exactly and how we connect with that, how we reconnect with
- 47:33that, you know, and I feel like you were like I feel like what
- 47:37you're offering in our in our region of the country is is
- 47:40Providing people, whether they're Heathen or not because
- 47:44let's face it. It's not a heathen facing
- 47:46business even though a lot of your branding and aesthetic
- 47:49tends to capture that. It's not exclusive to people
- 47:55focusing on that. I'm sure.
- 47:57I mean, maybe you want to speak to that, you welcome clients
- 48:00from any walks of life, that just want to get back to Nature,
- 48:03right? Exactly.
- 48:04Yeah, yeah. Just, you know, and that was the
- 48:06thing when I Came up with the name, obviously.
- 48:13Henry basically, father wolves, but also because I didn't, you
- 48:18know, that I have a one pie bird that's been in my life for ten
- 48:22years. So, it was, what I was coming up
- 48:26with what am I going to name this good?
- 48:30You know it. I could not get around it at all
- 48:34to not go in this direction. I tried.
- 48:38I tried to make it something all.
- 48:40Catch you. If you do some pine tree here
- 48:42and I man and just was like, huh, and you start looking and I
- 48:47know, that's what I did was I was looking at other businesses
- 48:49because really in this region, there's not many tour guides,
- 48:52there's some that take, you know, that Appalachian Trail and
- 48:56that's all they do. And I commend them, I think
- 48:59that's awesome as well because they do very similar work but
- 49:03there's just not really many. But me, so I just look in other
- 49:05areas and, you know, the same as the catchy.
- 49:08Like here's some Trees and let's go Wilderness outtakes or
- 49:13something, you know, this was like yeah, I couldn't get around
- 49:16it man. And so, my friend, that I've
- 49:19been talking about that I've helped evolve into this outdoor
- 49:23must meet, you know, he's a tattoo artist and he he helped
- 49:26design or he did design that and he took it image.
- 49:30So the imagery is of me with my wolf, dog.
- 49:34We were up in the mountains upon this cool looking tree, he took
- 49:38that and laid it then. Give me the mount these symbols
- 49:43and everything around it, and it was just when he said it.
- 49:47I was like, that's it, like I love it.
- 49:50There we go. Everybody for all the, for all
- 49:54the midgard, musings members. This is this is what Josh is
- 50:00talking about, right? So for everybody listening, you
- 50:02don't know what I'm talking about.
- 50:03You got to head over to his Facebook page.
- 50:05If you're not a Facebook guy or gal, this what we're talking
- 50:08about. But you know, this is the, you
- 50:11know, you got the What is it? The Legacy Homer?
- 50:17No vote, big this year. It's the big, the big decedent,
- 50:20the Nordic compass with the mountains and that that's,
- 50:22that's a artistic representation of you and your wolf hybrid,
- 50:26right, right? Having, you know, the compass
- 50:30was a big part, you know, because if you go back and like
- 50:33and you look at outdoor companies, so just have your
- 50:36basic north south east west conference right.
- 50:39Mmm. So it made sense to slap that
- 50:41they're give me a little bit of mountains in the die.
- 50:44Then the font and, you know, it was beautiful.
- 50:47I was like yeah, that's it. Like that.
- 50:49That's the direction we're going.
- 50:50That's it. I'm happy.
- 50:52And we're going with it. The wolf's actually in here.
- 50:54Now, she's just passed out sleeping behind the camera, but
- 50:59she's fine. She's been a, she's been a big
- 51:01part of my life man. She'll be 10 this year and I've
- 51:06had her since she was 10 months old, and I researched having a
- 51:12wolf hybrid for three. Three years before I made the
- 51:16commitment because they, they are a different breed high
- 51:20maintenance. Maybe?
- 51:21Yeah, they're not your average dog, man.
- 51:25However, it she is the friendliest, most goofiest
- 51:29animal you could ever meet, you know.
- 51:33But you know, she, she's very picky about things like she
- 51:37meant. She loves the outdoors and she
- 51:39sees the hiking bag to choose spinning.
- 51:42She's read it all about. She's howling at me, man.
- 51:45She's ready to go. You know, some trips I don't get
- 51:49to take her and she just like, gives me big pouty faces but but
- 51:53she she's a great asset to have. There's even been times where
- 51:58she sniffed out other animals and one time she stepped out the
- 52:02bear and she alert. And one of my friends one time
- 52:06didn't believe it. Like what do you mean?
- 52:08She'll learn she blah blah blah cause she's like really quiet
- 52:11and she's excited. She does.
- 52:14Has her woo, house and stuff. And we were sitting around a
- 52:18campfire. And what she does is, she starts
- 52:21sniffing the air and issue, when she pins it where it's at, she
- 52:25looks back at and it, she'll go back and there's a look back at
- 52:29me and she does it until I pay attention.
- 52:31Mmm. Sure enough man, we shined a
- 52:34spotlight in the direction. There was a black bear like
- 52:38Hagen. She's a part of it so it
- 52:58definitely fits. It fits like like a glove, you
- 53:03know, it just, it's perfect. So you know for anybody that is
- 53:12Like, what is your reach? Just out of curiosity.
- 53:14Like, do you Do you have like a limit like, you know, within 500
- 53:20miles of the Charlotte North Carolina area?
- 53:22Or is it just like, hey if you're in the air and you want
- 53:24to go a skirt, you know, on an Excursion run adventure, it's
- 53:29like it doesn't matter. Just hit me up kind of thing or
- 53:33well. Yeah and it's predominantly
- 53:37Donnelly, North Carolina, South Carolina, you know, a lot of
- 53:40people don't think of South Carolina having some mountains
- 53:44but they do and they reach their fight.
- 53:47Sure. Man they have one of the most
- 53:48gorgeous leaks down. There were waterfalls are
- 53:51falling into the lake so and I tried to come up to Tennessee as
- 54:00much as I can actually my family's from Elizabeth and
- 54:05that's probably what a couple hours from you.
- 54:07Yeah. That's a Gotham City.
- 54:10Yeah that's that's like Northeast Northeast of us so,
- 54:16you know, like Johnson City. Yeah.
- 54:18Like you're about to three hours so Roxanna.
- 54:23Yeah, I do a little bit of their Virginia just over the state
- 54:29line. There's a few areas up that way
- 54:30if they're closer to that side and they want to go that way and
- 54:34then Georgia, as well. I've done some exploring last
- 54:38year, scoping out a few cool places, man.
- 54:41And, and Georgia was one of those places.
- 54:44That, you know, I was always going to Atlanta, I can't stand
- 54:48Elana. So like Lana, yeah, right,
- 55:10what's that? What's that?
- 55:11What's that place? It's a big I mean it's a big
- 55:16attraction. It's got It's like a tell the
- 55:19Dragon. Talking about that, it may not
- 55:23be necessarily that, but it's got the whole, it's like a civil
- 55:26war carving on the side of the mountain.
- 55:28You know, I'm talking about? Was it Stone?
- 55:32What's this? What is the name of Stone
- 55:34Mountain? Okay, so like, yeah.
- 55:38And he was like, like, no disrespect.
- 55:40But Josh was like, yeah, okay. Stone Mountain.
- 55:42Woohoo. You know, to me, but whatever,
- 55:46dude, I'm just saying like, But the sphincter of the Griffin.
- 56:00No, that's what I'm talking about.
- 56:21Work with this doing it fun stuff.
- 56:24Man was able to link up with this Campground, they do a whole
- 56:27package deal and then I'm like, hey, I'm the guy to back, let's
- 56:31go but it's right off the Tail of the Dragon is.
- 56:34So like all day long. Like you're seeing you know
- 56:37million dollar sports cars, run up and down packs of motorcycles
- 56:41man. That's a very popular going up
- 56:43to Fontana Dam and all that. I mean it's beautiful, it's
- 56:45gorgeous yeah it's one of them like you know be careful when
- 56:50you're doing that if If you're even if you're just in your
- 56:52normal vehicle, I could just a family car.
- 56:55You got to watch man that people they're up there, no haul ass
- 56:59around, them curves man. And oh yeah dangerous I did a
- 57:01lot of people die every year out there though.
- 57:04That's kind of like the place of the New York where I'm where I
- 57:08grew up, not necessarily where I'm from, but like the Delaware
- 57:11River, a lot of the the Sullivan County New York.
- 57:19He ever go up North and you decide to explore some of those
- 57:23areas up in there, you know, around like Just like Sullivan
- 57:30County New York. You know, the batch of kill that
- 57:35that whole area. Same way, like they filmed know
- 57:41how like they film car commercials where it's like
- 57:42super windy treacherous road. Cars are like you know, just one
- 57:47and through like they film car commercials up in those areas,
- 57:52you know what I mean? Yeah, exactly.
- 57:57It is the same. Kind of stuff, man.
- 58:00It's the same kind of stuff, so if you ever like if you ever
- 58:03Venture far up, north that way, exciting stuff, but yeah for
- 58:08everybody, let's and let you know, Miss A North Carolina,
- 58:11maybe South Carolina Virginia Northeast, Tennessee parts of
- 58:15Georgia, definitely check out, father of the Wolves Outdoor
- 58:21Adventures on Facebook. All that's going to be linked in
- 58:25the show notes and in the description, if you want to
- 58:27reach out to Josh, Rectly. It's going to be father of the
- 58:31Wolves Outdoors at gmail.com, again, Linked In the show notes.
- 58:37And in the description, He's your guy.
- 58:41I mean he's your guy and he's your guide to my understanding
- 58:46because the man literally saved a woman's life.
- 58:49I don't know how much more like if you need that on a piece of
- 58:53paper you heard it here and you saw it here that that that
- 58:58that's all the credibility that I would need.
- 59:01Like yep, that's fine. You know the world could be
- 59:05crashing down around me and if I'm out stuck in the middle of
- 59:08bumfuck, nowhere, sorry for the language.
- 59:10But and Josh is here. He's got me.
- 59:16You know how we'll find you food?
- 59:17I will build your shelter and build you.
- 59:19A fire will be good. Yeah, we'll be good.
- 59:23So Josh, I really appreciate the level of candidness.
- 59:29You know, how much you were able to and willing to share about,
- 59:33not only what you, what you do as far as a business goes but
- 59:36kind of touched on a little bit into your Heathen re As we wrap
- 59:41the podcast, there's there's this segment where we talk about
- 59:47our, we pick like a random stanza of the, have them all.
- 59:50So you know, as you as you've expressed and as you know, all
- 59:55them all being a pretty popular section of the poetic Edda
- 1:00:02amongst Norris and dramatic heathens and the the stanza that
- 1:00:07we picked for today, I like to, you know, read from a number of
- 1:00:11different translations and always if I have a guest as we
- 1:00:13do today, Talk about the meaning of the stanza amongst, not just
- 1:00:19you know here's what it means to me, but how it is, it hit you or
- 1:00:23how does it hit the the, you know, the person who I'm talking
- 1:00:27with? And we, you know, open it up for
- 1:00:28discussion. So the the stanza for discussion
- 1:00:32today is stanza, 47 from the Hover Ball.
- 1:00:38So anybody listening watching, you know, whatever translation
- 1:00:42of the Hall of mul that you read from, I read from a number of
- 1:00:44different. Ation.
- 1:00:46So we've got Auden and Taylor Bellows Ray Hollander, which is
- 1:00:53always a fun one. Terry who work and Jackson
- 1:00:57Crawford. Specifically, The Wanderers hog
- 1:01:01maw. So I'll start with the audit and
- 1:01:05Taylor translation, which is Let's see here.
- 1:01:10It's a young and alone on a long road.
- 1:01:14Once I lost my way, rich, I felt when I found another man
- 1:01:22rejoices in, man, Bellows translation, reads young.
- 1:01:29Once young was, I once and wandered alone and not of the
- 1:01:36road, I knew Rich that. I feel when a comrade I found or
- 1:01:43man is man's Delight. The brave translation reads
- 1:01:48young was, I once I walked alone and bewildered seemed in the
- 1:01:53way. Then I found me another and Rich
- 1:01:56I fought me from and is the joy of man.
- 1:02:01Hollander is Young once I once young one young was, I once And
- 1:02:08went along and wandering lost my way when a friend I found I felt
- 1:02:14me rich man is cheered by man. The Terry translation reads
- 1:02:21always as a young man, I traveled alone and I would lose
- 1:02:26my way. I felt I was rich if I made a
- 1:02:30friend, no, man by himself is happy.
- 1:02:36The Thorpe translation reads. I was once young, I was
- 1:02:41journeying alone and lost my way.
- 1:02:44Rich, I thought myself. When I met another man is the
- 1:02:49joy of man. And then in the Jackson,
- 1:02:53Crawford. Wanderers Hall of mul finally,
- 1:02:58we'll go, I was young once I walked alone and I became lost
- 1:03:05on my way. I felt like I was rich when I
- 1:03:07met another traveler people's Joy is in other people.
- 1:03:19Now I feel like that is a like, just it's random.
- 1:03:28Because again before talking to you, I didn't have like I'm
- 1:03:31talking to Josh about wandering in the wilderness and finding,
- 1:03:37you know, having people who have never been in the wilderness
- 1:03:40before finding comfort and finding you know, value in
- 1:03:46another person and it Another man or another, you know what I
- 1:03:49mean like in yet, this is where we find ourselves and I think
- 1:03:53that it really hits a nerve or it strikes a chord.
- 1:03:57As it were about the fact that we as human beings are social
- 1:04:03creatures Joshua talking about earlier with the fact that when
- 1:04:06you launch this whole thing publicly, father Wills Outdoors
- 1:04:10during a time when social interaction was almost stripped
- 1:04:16from Humanity. There was this Renting there was
- 1:04:18this isolation there was this focus on isolation and you
- 1:04:23decided that that was a good time.
- 1:04:27To publicly launched a business that focused on human
- 1:04:32interaction and the fact that we are social creatures, we cannot
- 1:04:38survive on isolation, you know, right?
- 1:04:43How does it, how does it? How does, how does all this like
- 1:04:46hearing it here in the different translations and stuff?
- 1:04:48Like, what is it? What what do you think?
- 1:04:50Like stands out to you from from, from your perspective, I
- 1:04:54mean it's it is ironic That would would play into what I'm
- 1:04:59doing. I guess I agree with you on that
- 1:05:02because the way you know, I took that translation even through
- 1:05:06them all is someone and even in myself in my life before you
- 1:05:11know I've always been deemed a lone wolf to you know, by myself
- 1:05:16and there's times in life where I've strayed away from things
- 1:05:20that normally when do or around people and then have found
- 1:05:24myself come back full circle. In film or hole, so to speak
- 1:05:29around those people in my life. So, yeah, I mean, I feel like
- 1:05:36it's the same, you know, I just want to help people continue
- 1:05:40being happy and if you know that that's a pretty touching
- 1:05:45translations, you did there, man.
- 1:05:46I like that one a lot because it's basically I feel like it's
- 1:05:50someone being a straight away and finding them wholesomeness
- 1:05:54amongst company. Yeah.
- 1:05:56And come. Open E, you know that, that's so
- 1:06:01much. I feel that in modern even re or
- 1:06:06in modern paganism, you know, there's a lot of solo people, a
- 1:06:10lot of solo, practitioners as lot of folks that here that
- 1:06:14haven't found the social construct.
- 1:06:19In their area that I think he even re ultimately thrives in.
- 1:06:25I feel like this particular path in paganism.
- 1:06:28This particular approach to Heathen because about different
- 1:06:35polytheistic beliefs. You know, this this one is
- 1:06:42specifically Socially and community-based.
- 1:06:47There's it's almost like you can't appreciate and absorb the
- 1:06:51full benefit of what Haven re has to offer.
- 1:06:53Dramatic. Keeping me has to offer without
- 1:06:55tribe without Community without Social interactions.
- 1:07:01You know? And your tribe doesn't have to
- 1:07:02be so in like it doesn't have to be a certain number of people.
- 1:07:06Like your tribe can be like for us here.
- 1:07:08You know in my in my are right now at the time of this podcast
- 1:07:12you know our tribe is like three title carrying members and
- 1:07:16family or whatever. Like it's all in in whatever.
- 1:07:20But it's there's still that sense of family there still that
- 1:07:23sense of belonging to something and I think that a lot of people
- 1:07:31nowadays are looking for that, right?
- 1:07:34I don't know what if you get a sense of that in your area, but
- 1:07:36at least in our area, you know, a lot of people are looking to
- 1:07:39be a part of something and they don't know or they don't have
- 1:07:43any specific thing that they know that they can be a part of.
- 1:07:47And I feel like what you're offering, Josh specifically in
- 1:07:50your area is a way for people to connect and to learn about
- 1:07:54things that they can. Share with their people.
- 1:07:58And whether it becomes tribal at the, you know, more people
- 1:08:03become a part of it, you're planting a seed in a way, you
- 1:08:09know, exactly. And then, no matter what you
- 1:08:13look at it. Like, like I said, I deem myself
- 1:08:16as a lone wolf individual, you know, I've been by myself most
- 1:08:21of my life and and stuff but I have my tribe.
- 1:08:26And that tribe is very important to me, you know, I have have
- 1:08:30abundance of friends and I like and then the care about.
- 1:08:32But I have my tribe man. And yeah, tribe is not one of
- 1:08:36the best. Well, if that is the one that I
- 1:08:39helped take care of and I helped build the relationship with and
- 1:08:43you know what I look forward to being around you know, them them
- 1:08:47individuals fan. So tribe has having your tribe
- 1:08:51man has it's very important. Yeah.
- 1:08:54And I think that, you know, one of the things that the internet
- 1:08:56our overall has cultivated fortunately and unfortunately is
- 1:09:05how easy we can connect with people and sometimes that
- 1:09:10connection can You know like portray a miss miss portrays or
- 1:09:21misinterpret like just because you're good friends with
- 1:09:24somebody online, don't mean that their tribe, you know what I
- 1:09:26mean, like doesn't mean that they're an extension of your
- 1:09:29family. Like there's a level of
- 1:09:30connection that you have to have with somebody and I feel like
- 1:09:33the things like you're doing on an interpersonal level, you
- 1:09:38know, you're literally taking people after you've talked to
- 1:09:42them and understand like you've set that expectation.
- 1:09:45But now like we're out, we're out going and we're doing the
- 1:09:47thing that builds a level of trust that cannot be built on
- 1:09:55line over long distance. Like I'm sorry like I've known
- 1:09:58you for several years. Like I'm not going to trust you
- 1:10:01as much as I ever could. If I were to let you know go
- 1:10:03hiking for six seven eight miles but in places that I've never
- 1:10:07been before, you know? Like yeah we're cool like we
- 1:10:10know each other and that's you know, we've met in person like
- 1:10:13that's happened. But I'm just saying like right
- 1:10:15You're not going to experience that level of trust.
- 1:10:18You're going to experience, you're not going to be able to
- 1:10:20experience. Not that you it's not it's not
- 1:10:23an initial thing. You're not going to be given the
- 1:10:25opportunity to build that level of trust that frith, you know,
- 1:10:30that that Mutual trust that Mutual obligation between a
- 1:10:33human being without being with them in person.
- 1:10:37I feel like you're doing that and in your way with, you know,
- 1:10:41father of the Wolves. So I applaud you for that and I
- 1:10:45think you're Doing the tremendous level of service to
- 1:10:48the community and I look forward to seeing what you're able to
- 1:10:51offer, you know, going forward with with everybody and anybody
- 1:10:55that wants to be a part of that. And I think anybody listening
- 1:10:58and watching that's respectively in our area that wants to you
- 1:11:04know take Josh up, you need to you need to hit them up so you
- 1:11:07know check out the the show notes in the description and
- 1:11:10stuff and then in and book a session, man I die, you know.
- 1:11:15Formally or informally, you know, my wife's family is in
- 1:11:19North Carolina. I have some family North
- 1:11:20Carolina to spread abroad, but you know, when, when it went in
- 1:11:25as the time allows and I'm like, hey you know what?
- 1:11:27Let's go get lost somewhere or try to dude, you hit me.
- 1:11:32I appreciate that man. And you hit me up, man.
- 1:11:35I'll give you a good Adventure, man.
- 1:11:37Get us. What are the things that?
- 1:11:39You know what you're saying is building that trust, man.
- 1:11:43I want to have that one. My clients and I want them to
- 1:11:46feel safe and you know, and I do see that and a lot of times, you
- 1:11:51know, they're nervous meeting me and it's like, okay, with talk
- 1:11:54about it, then we get out there and you can see that they're
- 1:12:00kind of at that point where it's like, you know what, I don't
- 1:12:02know him, but I'm gonna have to trust him.
- 1:12:03I wanted this and then they start seeing the things and to
- 1:12:07see me put it together for him and making sure that they're
- 1:12:09comfortable and they got everything.
- 1:12:11And then at the end, you know, they, you know, So and it's a
- 1:12:16business, you know? And there's those points at
- 1:12:18times, man were like taking the money for is like, it's not
- 1:12:24really, I don't do it for the money, you know.
- 1:12:26It sure it's if it could, you know, one day, be my income
- 1:12:29full-time. That'd be great.
- 1:12:31But you know it's more or less the reward.
- 1:12:33I get from this is seeing these people happy and seeing them
- 1:12:39just overwhelmed with joy for the first time ever.
- 1:12:41Seeing, you know, when 60 to 80 foot tall wall Fall up close,
- 1:12:46you know, or standing on top of the Blue Ridge, and actually
- 1:12:49overlooking, just beautiful mountains.
- 1:12:53And sometimes I like, you know, I feel bad.
- 1:12:55If I got to take the money because this is part of the
- 1:12:57business, but it's, you know, just seeing the connection that
- 1:13:02that happens with it and and, and do receiving the trust in
- 1:13:06the end, this is very important. You know, and just again man I

- 1:13:41show their tribe. Hey I've done this for a few

- 1:13:53in your front yard, you can look up at the sky at night, see the
- 1:13:56stars, but I can promise you unless you're miles and miles
- 1:14:02and miles away from civilization, you will never see
- 1:14:04the stars as beautiful. They are until you're in that
- 1:14:06for Smith and, you know, just the small things like that, that
- 1:14:12people would never think of or take.
- 1:14:14For granted man. And then they could get out
- 1:14:16there just sitting in a hammock stare at these Bright Stars
- 1:14:19amongst the ponds and stuff, you know.
- 1:14:22Yeah, follow up things like that man.
- 1:14:24Is is now doors. Has it dude?
- 1:14:27And I just hope you connect more people with it.
