  hear today's play from John 12. It says,

  "Yet at the same time, many even among

  the leaders believed in him. But because

  of the Pharisees, they wouldn't openly

  acknowledge their faith for fear that

  they would be put out of the synagogue,

  for they loved human praise more than

  praise from God." Then Jesus cried out,

  "Whoever believes in me does not believe
• 0:31
  in me only, but in the one who sent me.

  The one who looks at me is seeing the
• 0:37
  one who sent me." Let me ask you

  something straight up. Do you believe in
• 0:41
  Jesus but quietly?

  John tells us something unsettling.
• 0:47
  Many, even among the leaders, believed
• 0:49
  in him. But because of the Pharisees,

  they would not openly acknowledge their

  faith. For they loved human praise more
• 0:56
  than praise from God. They believe the
• 1:00
  truth, but they hid it. And Jesus
• 1:02
  doesn't let that kind of belief remain
• 1:04
  misunderstood.

  Whoever believes in me does not believe
• 1:07
  in me only, but in the one who sent me.

  The one who looks at me is seeing the
• 1:13
  one who sent me. Jesus is God. That
• 1:16
  truth must sink deeper than doctrine. It
• 1:19
  must shape our identity. When we
• 1:21
  identify with Jesus, we identify with
• 1:24
  God himself. And that identification was
• 1:27
  never meant to be private. The fear of
• 1:30
  man silences more Christians than
• 1:33
  persecution ever has. When we crave
• 1:36
  approval from bosses, excuse me,
• 1:38
  teammates, co-workers, or even family,
• 1:41
  more than we crave God's approval, our
• 1:43
  witness shrinks, our influence fades,
• 1:46
  and people around us remain separated
• 1:48
  from eternal life. Not because God is
• 1:51
  unwilling, but because we stayed quiet.
• 1:54
  We cheer when athletes proclaim Jesus on
• 1:57
  national television, but scripture
• 1:58
  pushes the responsibility closer to
• 2:00
  home. We are called to proclaim him
• 2:03
  where we live, where we work, and where
• 2:05
  God has placed us. Now, those
• 2:07
  relationships we have aren't random.
• 2:10
  They're assignments. Jesus was rejected
• 2:12
  by many religious leaders and believed
• 2:14
  upon by others. The lesson is simple.
• 2:16
  But we don't know who will believe until
• 2:18
  we speak. Faithfulness always comes
• 2:22
  before fruitfulness. And fruit reveals
• 2:25
  faith. So here's today's play. Where?

  Ask yourself, where have I chosen
• 2:30
  comfort over courage? Who knows I'm a
• 2:32
  Christian but has never heard me speak
• 2:34
  about Jesus? Confess where fear has kept
• 2:37
  you silent? Ask God for courage that
• 2:40
  values his praise above all others. Then
• 2:43
  speak the name of Jesus clearly and
• 2:46
  without apology where God has already
• 2:48
  placed you. Because secret belief is not
• 2:50
  a biblical faith. Jesus is God and the
• 2:54
  world is waiting for men who will live
• 2:56
