Transcript
- 0:04Speaker 1: It's a podcast called twenty five whist stuck a board
- 0:08Speaker 1: and they.
- 0:09Speaker 2: All wear a whist.
- 0:09Speaker 3: So yet it's too bad, But what did you expect?
- 0:13Speaker 4: It's a podcast called twenty five whist Souls twenty wine,
- 0:18Speaker 4: Oh hit, Laddie, thank you. I won a lot of
- 0:23Speaker 4: money on Scheffler Winnie.
- 0:24Speaker 3: Let's good job. That's hard because he was a big favorite.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Well not really, not early on.
- 0:30Speaker 4: So and I didn't bet at early early, so I
- 0:32Speaker 4: mean I half cheated, if there's a sex thing as cheating.
- 0:36Speaker 4: So after day one he was a few behind because
- 0:39Speaker 4: he didn't lead after the first day correct, And so
- 0:40Speaker 4: I was like, oh, he's very much not only in striking, right,
- 0:44Speaker 4: he could run away with this thing with a good day.
- 0:46Speaker 4: And so I put a few hundred bucks on him
- 0:48Speaker 4: and he was still at like plus three ten or something.
- 0:52Speaker 4: So I made around one thousand bucks.
- 0:55Speaker 5: I think at that time, the whole Ireland Rory thing
- 0:59Speaker 5: was like and there's just no way that Rory's not
- 1:01Speaker 5: going to win this. It's in Ireland, and I think
- 1:03Speaker 5: that kind of made all those odds keep Scheffler down
- 1:05Speaker 5: a little bit.
- 1:06Speaker 1: So do that's that's a good hit.
- 1:07Speaker 4: Well, it's also The odds aren't based on who Vegas
- 1:11Speaker 4: thinks will win, They're based on people betting.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Yeah, and that's what I mean, Like, I mean, I
- 1:15Speaker 1: bet on Roy.
- 1:16Speaker 3: Everyone like the storyline more?
- 1:17Speaker 4: Yeah, Yeah. I do have the video here of Jordan
- 1:21Speaker 4: Speith talking about Scotty, and some people were upset about it,
- 1:25Speaker 4: but Jordan and Scotty were college teammates and really good
- 1:28Speaker 4: friends at Texas. So I'm going to play this clip
- 1:30Speaker 4: here and here you go.
- 1:32Speaker 6: He doesn't care to be a superstar. He's not transcending
- 1:37Speaker 6: the game like Tiger did. He's not bringing it to
- 1:39Speaker 6: non golf audience necessarily. He doesn't want to go do
- 1:43Speaker 6: you know the stuff that you know a lot of
- 1:46Speaker 6: us go do corporately, anything like that. He's he just
- 1:50Speaker 6: wants to get away from the game and separate the
- 1:52Speaker 6: two because I know that he, you know, at one
- 1:54Speaker 6: time felt that it was too much to just taking
- 1:57Speaker 6: it with him, and you know, whenever he made this switch,
- 1:59Speaker 6: I don't know what it when it was, but you know,
- 2:01Speaker 6: to have his hobbies, you know, he's he's he's always
- 2:04Speaker 6: with his family, you know, they're always doing stuff. So
- 2:08Speaker 6: I think it's more so the difference and personality from
- 2:12Speaker 6: any other superstar that you've seen in the modern era,
- 2:14Speaker 6: and maybe any sport.
- 2:16Speaker 4: I think he could talk freely because he was his friend. Yeah,
- 2:18Speaker 4: and I think everything he said was true, But he
- 2:20Speaker 4: wasn't saying it as a dig. He was like, he
- 2:21Speaker 4: doesn't transcend because he doesn't want to correct. But if
- 2:24Speaker 4: you didn't know and you just heard that clip, you
- 2:25Speaker 4: would definitely think he was taking shots at him, Like
- 2:27Speaker 4: if you didn't have the context of their relationship, if
- 2:30Speaker 4: you didn't have the context of who Scheffler is, even
- 2:33Speaker 4: Scheffler doing the press conference last week, being like, you know,
- 2:36Speaker 4: this stuff doesn't matter, Like you want a major, you
- 2:38Speaker 4: feel good for a couple of minutes, and you move on,
- 2:39Speaker 4: and then he goes out and dominates another major. It's
- 2:42Speaker 4: pretty awesome. It's kid being out there at the end.
- 2:45Speaker 4: That's pretty cool. The picture was cool. So I have
- 2:47Speaker 4: that video and then I have one other one I
- 2:48Speaker 4: wanted to play for you guys, And this one is
- 2:53Speaker 4: after the w NBA All Star Game, and at the
- 2:57Speaker 4: table was Kelsey Plum. They're such haters of Kaitlyn Clark
- 3:04Speaker 4: for no reason. They're so jealous of Kaitlyn Clark for
- 3:08Speaker 4: no reason. And again, the only reason that the gen
- 3:12Speaker 4: pop and I would consider me gin pop cares about
- 3:15Speaker 4: the w NBA at all is because of Kaitlyn Clark.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Who's Kelsey Plumb.
- 3:20Speaker 4: She was married to Waller, Darren Waller, who's unretired. By
- 3:24Speaker 4: the way, Yeah, she's also it's funny. That's where my
- 3:27Speaker 4: mind goes, like what would I know her from most?
- 3:28Speaker 4: But she's also like a good WBA players a long time.
- 3:33Speaker 7: Yeah, she's been she's she's kind of she is weird,
- 3:36Speaker 7: like little.
- 3:36Speaker 3: She's off, like she just likes a picture.
- 3:38Speaker 4: She was the one too, told the guy asking for
- 3:40Speaker 4: the autographs, I had like an issue with him, and
- 3:43Speaker 4: I get it, but signed the crap and move on.
- 3:45Speaker 4: You're the they can't handle their sport is getting popular.
- 3:48Speaker 4: It's like all them getting upset when Shane Gillis was
- 3:50Speaker 4: making the jokes when your sport gets popular, it gets
- 3:52Speaker 4: so popular that it's into the pop culture universe. People
- 3:56Speaker 4: start to be fun or not be fun and take
- 3:58Speaker 4: shots like that's your platform. I'm raising up. More people
- 4:01Speaker 4: are seeing you, so people are gonna get happy with you,
- 4:02Speaker 4: mad at you, upset at you. That's what's happening. They
- 4:05Speaker 4: can't handle it. And so Kelsey Plum has been a
- 4:08Speaker 4: hater of Kaitlin Clark before. Again, people that weren't into
- 4:11Speaker 4: the WNBA wouldn't care about the WNBA if it wasn't
- 4:13Speaker 4: for Kaitlin Clark because they only care about Angel Reese
- 4:16Speaker 4: because the Kitln Clark and Angel Reeses beefs.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Yep.
- 4:19Speaker 4: So that being said, this is after the WNBA All
- 4:23Speaker 4: Star Game and there were two teams and this is
- 4:26Speaker 4: Kelsey Plum talking about the shirts they were wearing. This
- 4:29Speaker 4: said pay us what we're worth or whatever the shirt said,
- 4:31Speaker 4: or we're not getting paid. I forget what the shirt said.
- 4:33Speaker 4: But what's funny was the league's lost like forty million
- 4:35Speaker 4: bucks a year, and so hilarious. People on the internet
- 4:39Speaker 4: were fine, well, I guess every players is about three
- 4:41Speaker 4: hundred thousand dollars if they lost forty million, it's what
- 4:43Speaker 4: you owe us. Yeah, pay us what you owe us
- 4:45Speaker 4: for the shirts they were wearing. They're in the middle
- 4:46Speaker 4: of a like a contract negotiation. TV rights are.
- 4:52Speaker 3: New CBA stough.
- 4:53Speaker 4: Yeah, here we go. This is them at the table
- 4:57Speaker 4: after the All Star Game.
- 4:58Speaker 8: It was a very powerful moment. We didn't, at least
- 5:02Speaker 8: as players we didn't know that that was gonna happen,
- 5:05Speaker 8: so I think it was kind of like a genuine surprise.
- 5:08Speaker 8: But the t shirt just united front was determined this
- 5:13Speaker 8: morning that we had a meeting for and uh, you know,
- 5:17Speaker 8: not to not to tattle sale, but zero members of
- 5:20Speaker 8: Team Clark were very present for that.
- 5:24Speaker 3: But no, we were just uh we had a very
- 5:26Speaker 3: Uh I.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Really needed to be mentioned.
- 5:30Speaker 8: I'm trying to make a situation light, Okay, but but yeah, no,
- 5:33Speaker 8: I think it was just all of us getting on
- 5:34Speaker 8: the same page for the game. We wanted to do
- 5:36Speaker 8: something that was just united and collective.
- 5:39Speaker 4: And so one of the teams was Team Clark Team
- 5:41Speaker 4: Caitlin Clark because she like the heighspoll Geter, like the
- 5:44Speaker 4: two Heigs vulle Geters, I think had a team named
- 5:46Speaker 4: after them.
- 5:46Speaker 3: Okay, but shut up. Yeah, you don't need.
- 5:49Speaker 4: To say who wasn't there whenever you were talking about
- 5:53Speaker 4: what shirt was worn?
- 5:54Speaker 2: Pay us away.
- 5:55Speaker 3: She's such a hater. Even Sabrina and Escu she stepped in.
- 5:58Speaker 3: She felt weird. That was unnecessary.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Yep, it feels like.
- 6:01Speaker 4: High school and Sabrina should be the one most upset
- 6:03Speaker 4: about Kayl Clark because she was the three point bomber
- 6:05Speaker 4: until Kaylyn Clark.
- 6:06Speaker 3: Yes, yes, yeah, dude, it ain't good.
- 6:09Speaker 4: That's it's weirdols are mean, man, there's all this jealousy
- 6:14Speaker 4: for what is making them more famous.
- 6:17Speaker 3: Yeah, that I was laughing about yesterday.
- 6:20Speaker 7: I was like, the shirt should say something about Kaylyn Clark,
- 6:23Speaker 7: like thank you Kate Clark.
- 6:24Speaker 4: Yeah big thanks CC.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Yeah, that'd be nice.
- 6:27Speaker 4: And the league has gotten better, it's still hard to
- 6:34Speaker 4: watch sometimes, like when they missed, they bad.
- 6:36Speaker 3: It's bad.
- 6:38Speaker 4: And I have the w NBA Sunday ticket. That's what
- 6:41Speaker 4: it is.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Yeah, I watch it. I watched the w n B A.
- 6:44Speaker 4: I got that freaking league past WNBA A league pass
- 6:46Speaker 4: because of Kayler Clark. I don't want to watch the
- 6:47Speaker 4: fever fair. Oh what lose they're losers. A rising tide
- 6:54Speaker 4: lifts all ships and collect your paychecks because that's the
- 6:57Speaker 4: that collect a bargain agreement they're doing right now, and
- 6:59Speaker 4: with the TV rights are gonna get paid more. They
- 7:01Speaker 4: are going to get paid more. Yeah, you know why
- 7:02Speaker 4: they're in such a power position right now, Caitlyn Clark.
- 7:06Speaker 4: That's it because the general interest has risen one hundred two.
- 7:13Speaker 4: And I say that based on the percentage of ticket prices,
- 7:16Speaker 4: they're having to move to a bigger arenas when Kaitlyn
- 7:17Speaker 4: Clark comes. So other players are catching They're they're they're
- 7:20Speaker 4: getting the fame by association and then we can see
- 7:22Speaker 4: how good they are.
- 7:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:23Speaker 3: The worst thing for them right now is hurt being hurt. Yeah.
- 7:25Speaker 3: Oh yeah.
- 7:26Speaker 4: The All Star Game tickets fell like sixty percent. Yeah,
- 7:28Speaker 4: because she didn't play in it, all right, Yeah, yeah,
- 7:32Speaker 4: that's the whole thing. Don't be haters, man, and I
- 7:35Speaker 4: love being a hater. And even even then, I'm like,
- 7:37Speaker 4: don't be a hater on that, Like you're biting the
- 7:40Speaker 4: hand that feeds you.
- 7:41Speaker 3: Yeah, it's just weird to me.
- 7:43Speaker 4: Eddie and I played our first round of golf in
- 7:44Speaker 4: the tournament.
- 7:45Speaker 2: Well, oh, you didn't know.
- 7:47Speaker 4: You didn't know it yet, right, Oh.
- 7:48Speaker 3: No, he actually told me. Oh yeah, she told me. Yeah, yeah,
- 7:50Speaker 3: I told him.
- 7:51Speaker 4: I was waiting for Eddie and I. Well, it was
- 7:53Speaker 4: close at the end. I only won by a stroke
- 7:56Speaker 4: because I'm only up one stroke going into day two
- 7:57Speaker 4: at the tournament, I was like fifteen feet down id
- 8:01Speaker 4: freaking choked in the water. But we both choked a
- 8:03Speaker 4: different holes. I think I shot at eighty.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Four, eighty four, I shot eighty five.
- 8:07Speaker 4: And we played no move in the ball, no man,
- 8:09Speaker 4: very fair, and very few gimmeys. Eddie was so hell
- 8:12Speaker 4: bent on not playing gimmeis. But unless it was super close,
- 8:15Speaker 4: how close.
- 8:15Speaker 3: Like we're talking two three.
- 8:17Speaker 1: Foot like like really you're like gonna miss it?
- 8:20Speaker 4: Yeah, like you're not gonna miss it? Okay, based on
- 8:23Speaker 4: and not everything was a gimmy. No, even even normal gimmes.
- 8:26Speaker 4: We wouldn't do gimmes. He was so against gimmis.
- 8:27Speaker 5: And then but then Kevin, he would walk up to
- 8:29Speaker 5: the ball and be like, you're not gonna give it
- 8:30Speaker 5: to me, like what do we do here? And I'd
- 8:33Speaker 5: and I would purposely be like I'm still thinking, and
- 8:35Speaker 5: I'd put first, you know, and then you're good, you
- 8:37Speaker 5: can figure it out.
- 8:38Speaker 3: So you have to play mine games too.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Well, Yeah, that's Bobby talk about a crap weapon.
- 8:43Speaker 3: It's true.
- 8:43Speaker 4: No, I didn't talk any crap at all. Eddie was
- 8:45Speaker 4: the one talking all the crap.
- 8:47Speaker 8: No.
- 8:48Speaker 4: Even Tom, who was playing with us, was like, Eddie,
- 8:51Speaker 4: I don't even know you as a competitor.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Right now, when the ball go out of bound, it
- 8:55Speaker 1: I'd be like I wasn't.
- 8:56Speaker 4: I was focused and I had a crazy headache at
- 8:59Speaker 4: the start of the round, like.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Dude, didn't matter. Hey Tiger, Tiger uses putter as a cane.
- 9:06Speaker 1: He's not making an excuse me.
- 9:07Speaker 4: I did not play the first five holes. I was
- 9:08Speaker 4: like double double and I went like ten holes, went
- 9:11Speaker 4: over and like really put it on it. But Eddie
- 9:13Speaker 4: was leading the first six seven holes.
- 9:15Speaker 5: But I still was making bogies when he was making doubles,
- 9:19Speaker 5: like man, that was my time to really gain some
- 9:22Speaker 5: like space, and I never could take advantage of that.
- 9:25Speaker 4: So at the end I only won by sorry day
- 9:28Speaker 4: one down by one stroke. It was actually very close,
- 9:32Speaker 4: way closer than he should be upset about.
- 9:34Speaker 3: Was it the final hole? What was going in to that?
- 9:37Speaker 4: By three strokes and I hit it fifteen feet out
- 9:41Speaker 4: into the water, like I don't, Yeah, stupid.
- 9:44Speaker 1: And then I made the par putt, which is like.
- 9:46Speaker 4: Huge, the green is on the water, and I freaking
- 9:49Speaker 4: shanked a chip right in the free right in the water.
- 9:51Speaker 5: It was so stupid. That's yeah, I mean, this is dramatic.
- 9:55Speaker 5: Though it's a good It's gonna be a good tournament.
- 9:57Speaker 4: Everyone's watching, nobody's no, but if you didn't hear, if
- 10:04Speaker 4: Eddie beats me in the four day tournament, I give
- 10:05Speaker 4: him five hundred dollars. If I beat Eddie, he has
- 10:08Speaker 4: to wear a Superman costume and go to the house
- 10:10Speaker 4: or on the street for two hours holding a sign,
- 10:12Speaker 4: and then he has to grill my wife and I
- 10:14Speaker 4: dinner in his Superman costume.
- 10:15Speaker 1: My costume is weird.
- 10:17Speaker 4: It is. Yeah, we like that. We talked about it.
- 10:19Speaker 4: We're both into it. Diego Pavia is gonna we'renna take
- 10:23Speaker 4: a break. Mike is there back with Diego. Okay, cool,
- 10:26Speaker 4: Diego Pavia, who really became a hero and a darling
- 10:31Speaker 4: after Vanderbilt beat Alabama last year.
- 10:33Speaker 1: That was awesome.
- 10:33Speaker 4: Yeah, we'll do forty five minutes in studio with Diego Pavia.
- 10:36Speaker 4: Nets Let's get over to our sit down with bandy
- 10:40Speaker 4: quarterback and Heisman hopeful Diego Pavia. Since Vanderbilt right down
- 10:43Speaker 4: the street, it was awesome to have him come up
- 10:45Speaker 4: in the studio. He has featured on the upcoming Netflix
- 10:47Speaker 4: docu series Any Given Saturday. We talked about that, we
- 10:51Speaker 4: talked about winning. Thanks to Diego for coming in his
- 10:54Speaker 4: Instagram is at Diego ten Pavia. Here he is quarterback
- 10:58Speaker 4: Diego Pavia. Good to see it. Thanks for spending some
- 11:01Speaker 4: time with us.
- 11:01Speaker 2: Appreciate you, Bobby, Thank for having me.
- 11:03Speaker 4: What are media days like when you're the guy?
- 11:06Speaker 2: Oh, I don't know if I'm the guy?
- 11:08Speaker 4: You know, well, you're the guy, Okay, fair enough.
- 11:10Speaker 2: I would say you were trying to be the guy.
- 11:13Speaker 4: Definitely one of the faces of the league. I would
- 11:15Speaker 4: say that because you had a wonderful season last year,
- 11:19Speaker 4: one of the guys. What's it like to be one
- 11:20Speaker 4: of the faces, to be one of the guys when
- 11:23Speaker 4: you go to that thing.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I would It was a cool experience for sure.
- 11:27Speaker 2: But every time I, like someone brought something up like that,
- 11:30Speaker 2: I was just thinking to myself, like I want way more.
- 11:33Speaker 2: You know, for me, my teammates, a lot of us
- 11:36Speaker 2: are not on like draft boards. I mean, hype is
- 11:39Speaker 2: just hype at the end of the day. But when
- 11:42Speaker 2: you look at the numbers, I feel like I'm the
- 11:43Speaker 2: best in the country and that's just off numbers. There's
- 11:48Speaker 2: two things that don't line numbers in film. So you know,
- 11:52Speaker 2: I just got to bring it every single Saturday this
- 11:54Speaker 2: out coming year, and I'll be on everyone's draft board,
- 11:56Speaker 2: and I'll be ready to go to the league.
- 11:57Speaker 4: Did you go to the SEC medi days last year
- 12:01Speaker 4: and represent Vanderbilt. No, so this was the first year
- 12:04Speaker 4: you did that.
- 12:04Speaker 2: Yeah? Yeah, last year. I rarely came in to Vanderbilt,
- 12:06Speaker 2: like a year and a month and a half ago, So.
- 12:09Speaker 4: You were late in.
- 12:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I was late and I had to do twenty
- 12:13Speaker 2: one credits at New Mexico State to graduate to come
- 12:16Speaker 2: into Vanderbilt.
- 12:17Speaker 4: Was that because it was Vanderbilt or because you were
- 12:20Speaker 4: transferring just generally?
- 12:21Speaker 2: Yeah, it was because it was Vanderbilt. They don't accept
- 12:24Speaker 2: like credits from I guess, like junior college. Well, I
- 12:28Speaker 2: went junior college to New Mexico State, and then I
- 12:30Speaker 2: had to graduate because I was just older, I guess.
- 12:33Speaker 2: And then they don't really take junior or senior transfers
- 12:35Speaker 2: at Vanderbilt because of the academics.
- 12:37Speaker 4: So you had to graduate.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I had to graduate.
- 12:40Speaker 3: We were talking to coach.
- 12:41Speaker 4: Lee last year and he was talking about, you know,
- 12:43Speaker 4: it's hard to get into Vanderbilt. Oh yeah, and to
- 12:46Speaker 4: recruit players, it's got to be a special type of player.
- 12:49Speaker 4: I didn't realize that. You it sounds like juniors and
- 12:52Speaker 4: seniors can't transfer in. You have to have graduated to
- 12:54Speaker 4: come in, so that puts a lot of stress on you.
- 12:56Speaker 4: Then at school, right like to get all that done
- 12:58Speaker 4: for sure.
- 12:59Speaker 2: I mean I was taking twenty one credits. I was
- 13:01Speaker 2: still working out, you know, two three times a day,
- 13:04Speaker 2: still going to practice, watching them practice, and then but
- 13:08Speaker 2: it was all online, so that was cool.
- 13:10Speaker 4: Whenever I tried to do like online when I got
- 13:12Speaker 4: a ticket, I spent way less time invested in being
- 13:16Speaker 4: on because it was it was like easily available. So
- 13:18Speaker 4: I did terrible at taking like Driver's Head online. Yeah yeah,
- 13:21Speaker 4: so I feel like if I took online classes, I
- 13:23Speaker 4: would not pay attention.
- 13:24Speaker 2: We should have just typed it into chat GBT, what
- 13:25Speaker 2: I gotta done, That's true, Yeah, different times, not saying
- 13:29Speaker 2: I do that, not saying I do that. A few students.
- 13:31Speaker 4: What's Vandy like to go to class? I'm assuming you're
- 13:34Speaker 4: going to class.
- 13:34Speaker 2: Oh yeah, you meet a lot of interesting kids at class.
- 13:37Speaker 2: They want to like basically own the world, you know,
- 13:40Speaker 2: where someone like like their parents are just really interesting,
- 13:43Speaker 2: or they just tell you their background. And that's what
- 13:45Speaker 2: I like doing. I like learning about people and then
- 13:48Speaker 2: building relationships like that. And so I met a few
- 13:50Speaker 2: people just like in the hallways and stuff who were
- 13:54Speaker 2: just interesting. You know, their parents or something are high up,
- 13:57Speaker 2: or they're from Nashville, they owned some like real estate.
- 14:01Speaker 2: And but I really like the students at Vanderbilt.
- 14:04Speaker 4: Do you walk around and constantly get asked for selfies.
- 14:10Speaker 2: More towards the end of the year than beginning, for sure.
- 14:13Speaker 4: Because football season is on everyone's mind?
- 14:16Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that's cool.
- 14:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:19Speaker 4: Can you go online classes? Now?
- 14:21Speaker 2: So I have an all online major right now?
- 14:24Speaker 8: Oh yeah?
- 14:25Speaker 2: Yeah, awesome, So I'm really bought into football?
- 14:28Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 14:28Speaker 4: Did they make sure do most guys do that?
- 14:31Speaker 2: No? Actually, not from Vanderbilt. We got a lot of
- 14:34Speaker 2: smart kids on our roster. That's what makes that's what
- 14:37Speaker 2: makes us elite.
- 14:38Speaker 4: Yeah. You know, why did you choose Vanderbilt?
- 14:42Speaker 3: Well?
- 14:42Speaker 2: I chose it because at New Mexico State are my
- 14:47Speaker 2: head coach, offensive coordinator, safety's coach, quarterback coach. I think
- 14:52Speaker 2: who else running back coach? They took vander picked up
- 14:56Speaker 2: about six or seven of our coaches, and then they
- 15:00Speaker 2: took like four of our players, and then so I
- 15:03Speaker 2: was like, shoot, I might as well join them, you know.
- 15:05Speaker 2: And then once coach kill really went to Vanderbilt. That's
- 15:08Speaker 2: when I was like, Okay, I'm bought in.
- 15:11Speaker 4: Whenever you come over or you're thinking about coming over,
- 15:13Speaker 4: are they like, hey, diego, there's a good shot you
- 15:15Speaker 4: can play or is it just you're just believing yourself
- 15:18Speaker 4: and go not really knowing I guess, not knowing how
- 15:20Speaker 4: to say it, but not really having an understanding of
- 15:23Speaker 4: where you're going to fit the depth chart.
- 15:24Speaker 2: Well, there was a quarterback battle going in. I kind
- 15:27Speaker 2: of scouted that going into it, but the starter had
- 15:30Speaker 2: just left, so I knew the spot was open and
- 15:32Speaker 2: there wasn't going to be no favoritism or anything like that.
- 15:35Speaker 2: And all I asked for going in is because I
- 15:38Speaker 2: know there's a lot of politics in the SEC and
- 15:40Speaker 2: like these big conferences. So I told them I'll come
- 15:44Speaker 2: if you promise me that it's a fifty to fifty
- 15:47Speaker 2: shot and the better person will play.
- 15:48Speaker 4: So you didn't even ask for the guarantee to start.
- 15:50Speaker 4: You just wanted a fair shot to win the job.
- 15:52Speaker 2: I just wanted a fair shot to win the job.
- 15:54Speaker 4: What was the scheme difference? Offensively from New Mexico to here?
- 15:58Speaker 4: Same thing because the coaches came or a lot of
- 16:00Speaker 4: it were running the same same terminology and everything same terminal.
- 16:03Speaker 2: There was a little bit of a twist because of
- 16:05Speaker 2: our offensive line coach. He coached like Lamar Jackson at Louisville,
- 16:10Speaker 2: and so we took a slight little twist with that,
- 16:14Speaker 2: and so I had to learn a little bit, But
- 16:15Speaker 2: it wasn't too much learning that I had to do.
- 16:17Speaker 4: Did you feel that when you came in you were
- 16:20Speaker 4: equal to the guy immediately? And I don't know who
- 16:23Speaker 4: you run the quarterback battle with? Uh, did you guys
- 16:26Speaker 4: start at the same place or did you come in
- 16:27Speaker 4: a little behind and you had to catch up.
- 16:30Speaker 2: I would say I was probably ahead, just because I
- 16:34Speaker 2: was at New Mexico State for a year and a
- 16:36Speaker 2: half with the offensive coordinator.
- 16:38Speaker 4: And stuff, so you knew what he was saying, yeah,
- 16:40Speaker 4: what you were expected.
- 16:41Speaker 2: And I was in the background. So I like practice.
- 16:43Speaker 2: I would go watch practice every single day in the
- 16:45Speaker 2: spring because I couldn't practice, And like on seven on
- 16:48Speaker 2: seven and team reps, I would take my drop back
- 16:51Speaker 2: when he said hike, I would take my drop back.
- 16:53Speaker 2: I'd go through my reads and I'd throw the I'd
- 16:55Speaker 2: fake throw the ball before like the quarterback would do it.
- 16:58Speaker 4: So it's like being on the on deck circle and
- 16:59Speaker 4: time pitches. Yep, you're there taking cuts, just you know,
- 17:04Speaker 4: timing it.
- 17:04Speaker 2: Just mental reps.
- 17:05Speaker 4: And when did you feel like you guys? And I
- 17:07Speaker 4: hope this comes off as super respectful, but Vanderbilt has
- 17:10Speaker 4: a history and a culture of being a very smart
- 17:13Speaker 4: school that occasionally has blips of success with the football program.
- 17:16Speaker 4: I think Coach League has really brought in a culture
- 17:18Speaker 4: of success, and coach Franklin did the same thing. But
- 17:21Speaker 4: other than those two, it's been difficult for Vanderbilt to
- 17:24Speaker 4: have any sustained success. When did you start to feel like, hey,
- 17:26Speaker 4: we're actually going to be pretty good?
- 17:30Speaker 2: Well, first things first, like it was hard to mesh
- 17:32Speaker 2: with the team because I was only there like a
- 17:34Speaker 2: month and a half before we played our first game.
- 17:38Speaker 2: So I feel like Virginia Tech was when like, Okay,
- 17:41Speaker 2: we have a chance to be good. And then when
- 17:43Speaker 2: we lost to Missouri there were like the number six
- 17:46Speaker 2: or fifth ranked team in the country.
- 17:47Speaker 4: That was like an overtime field goal game, double.
- 17:49Speaker 2: Overtime, lost by field goal, and we could have won it.
- 17:51Speaker 2: I still blame that one on me. We could have
- 17:55Speaker 2: won it. And then after that everyone was like, man,
- 17:58Speaker 2: we could do this, and then next week we had
- 18:00Speaker 2: to buy. Then the following week we played BAM.
- 18:02Speaker 3: When we beat him, that game was wild.
- 18:06Speaker 4: I think most people started watching a different game, and
- 18:10Speaker 4: about third quarter, the entire country was on that on
- 18:13Speaker 4: you guys game.
- 18:15Speaker 2: Well, I bet it was pretty hype. You know, it
- 18:16Speaker 2: was a back and forth battle.
- 18:18Speaker 4: Again the ticker. We's probably how most of us. It's
- 18:22Speaker 4: unfair for me because I know coach a little bit,
- 18:24Speaker 4: but you know, I think most of America was watching
- 18:26Speaker 4: the ticker and the longer you guys stayed with BAM,
- 18:29Speaker 4: it was like, oh, we'll check back on that game.
- 18:31Speaker 3: We'll check back.
- 18:32Speaker 4: About the third quarter, all my friends were texting me, Oh,
- 18:34Speaker 4: we're dialed in, we're watching this. What that game? Did
- 18:37Speaker 4: you feel like at the beginning your guys knew you
- 18:40Speaker 4: guys could match up with them, or was it after
- 18:43Speaker 4: a few series you felt like, Oh, we can't compete
- 18:45Speaker 4: with these guys. How did you guys start that game.
- 18:47Speaker 2: I feel like everyone came in. Uh, maybe some guys
- 18:50Speaker 2: didn't come in, you know, not as confident because of
- 18:53Speaker 2: the past and they've been on the team. But I
- 18:55Speaker 2: feel like for the most part, the starters and the
- 18:58Speaker 2: two's were pretty hyped about going in and playing Bama. Obviously,
- 19:01Speaker 2: we just came off a close loss to Missouri, so
- 19:03Speaker 2: they wanted to see how we were going to bounce back,
- 19:05Speaker 2: and that was the biggest thing. And then once we
- 19:07Speaker 2: punched first and then we got another pick six, it
- 19:10Speaker 2: was like, okay, just keep the ball rolling.
- 19:12Speaker 4: And what does coach late or your offensive court enders
- 19:14Speaker 4: say at halftime, because I don't know what you guys
- 19:17Speaker 4: need halftime in order to continue to believe in yourself.
- 19:20Speaker 2: I think we're up like twenty three ten, and the
- 19:22Speaker 2: message was keep the foot on the gas. And then
- 19:26Speaker 2: I remember our old lineman, big Low, he was walking
- 19:29Speaker 2: out and he's like, I'm not walking out this without
- 19:33Speaker 2: a w And so that was just the mentality, just
- 19:36Speaker 2: any way possible, just find a win.
- 19:38Speaker 4: So I think a lot of teams will get caught
- 19:40Speaker 4: up in trying to hold on to the lead more
- 19:43Speaker 4: so then continuing to try to win. And you guys
- 19:45Speaker 4: went out with that mindset of Hey, we're gonna keep
- 19:47Speaker 4: going and we're going to be aggressive even if it
- 19:50Speaker 4: comes back. We'd rather be aggressive than not.
- 19:52Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure, Well we knew they were going to
- 19:53Speaker 2: still put up points. You know, they're talented on offense
- 19:57Speaker 2: and they will be this upcoming year. So it takes
- 19:59Speaker 2: a lot of points to be a team like Alabama.
- 20:01Speaker 4: Is that a game where you can watch tape leading
- 20:03Speaker 4: up to it and have confidence that you can compete?
- 20:06Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure. I kind of knew they weren't gonna
- 20:10Speaker 2: change it up a lot. They're gonna play a lot
- 20:12Speaker 2: of man coverage, and so I knew it was what
- 20:14Speaker 2: I was gonna kind of get.
- 20:15Speaker 4: Did that feel disrespectful they were gonna play a lot
- 20:17Speaker 4: of man coverage? I think I'd be disrespected, Like you
- 20:19Speaker 4: think you.
- 20:19Speaker 2: Can just cover us one on one, one hundred percent.
- 20:21Speaker 2: I actually have a funny store for you that I'll
- 20:23Speaker 2: tell you after off Mike.
- 20:24Speaker 3: I love those.
- 20:26Speaker 4: I love those. Yeah, I think if if they're playing
- 20:28Speaker 4: man the whole game, I think I'm feeling a bit
- 20:30Speaker 4: disrespected for sure.
- 20:31Speaker 2: That's if you you actually think you're better than me,
- 20:34Speaker 2: you know what I mean, And so that's that's a
- 20:38Speaker 2: sign of disrespect for sure. But you have to play
- 20:40Speaker 2: man in the SEC and because you have to bring Blitz,
- 20:44Speaker 2: his quarterbacks are too good to just if you just
- 20:46Speaker 2: set them sit back there. They're gonna find someone.
- 20:48Speaker 3: You have to play man some right, not all the time.
- 20:52Speaker 4: Yeah, if you're a man in up all game, that
- 20:53Speaker 4: means you think one on one you're better than Like
- 20:56Speaker 4: you can line up and shut down my wide receiver
- 20:58Speaker 4: every play. I think I would be a loy irritated.
- 21:00Speaker 4: Right though nine interceptions you didn't, I think I was
- 21:02Speaker 4: nine inceptions doing that. But I think I think I
- 21:04Speaker 4: would take that personally if they're running man defense on
- 21:06Speaker 4: me the whole time. Did they change their scheme on
- 21:08Speaker 4: you mid game? And did you feel it?
- 21:10Speaker 2: No? I think they they started to play more man. Actually,
- 21:14Speaker 2: even in third and long situation it was man and
- 21:16Speaker 2: we're gonna yeah, but we have Eli Stower so it
- 21:20Speaker 2: was different.
- 21:21Speaker 4: And so what are you like in the huddle?
- 21:24Speaker 2: Oh, I'm I'm real serious in the huddle, Like once
- 21:28Speaker 2: it's business, once that clock starts, it's all business from
- 21:30Speaker 2: there on out. And then I try to just get
- 21:33Speaker 2: everyone prep, give everyone confidence to go into the next
- 21:37Speaker 2: play and just succeed. If someone misses a block or something,
- 21:39Speaker 2: you know, I'm smacking him on his ass and just
- 21:41Speaker 2: tell him, hey, you got it.
- 21:43Speaker 4: Why do your guys believe in you.
- 21:46Speaker 2: I think they just see that. You know, I'm not
- 21:49Speaker 2: going to go out without a fight, Like I want
- 21:52Speaker 2: to win more than anything else in life. Like this
- 21:55Speaker 2: is all I know. All I know is football. Without football,
- 21:58Speaker 2: I don't know what I would.
- 21:59Speaker 4: Do this part of the year because the football season
- 22:01Speaker 4: is still fifty fifty days away or.
- 22:04Speaker 2: Solf right, I think it's less than fifty days about
- 22:06Speaker 2: forty some.
- 22:07Speaker 3: Where Are you physically?
- 22:07Speaker 2: Are you?
- 22:08Speaker 4: Do you like work and then taper down before the
- 22:10Speaker 4: season or is it just an assent and then you're
- 22:14Speaker 4: you know, you're gas fully hit.
- 22:16Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll probably uh well, fall camp starts in about
- 22:19Speaker 2: two weeks. We'll probably go hard this week. Next week,
- 22:23Speaker 2: we'll probably taper down a little bit going into fall
- 22:25Speaker 2: camp and then blast off and then probably a week
- 22:28Speaker 2: before our first game, we'll probably taper off a little bit.
- 22:30Speaker 4: What will you do leading into the season that was
- 22:31Speaker 4: different than last seasons that you have one under your belt?
- 22:33Speaker 2: Now, I'll do more recovery in the training room, you know.
- 22:38Speaker 2: And then it's one thing I need to do is
- 22:40Speaker 2: hurry up my feet and that's something that I'm working on.
- 22:43Speaker 2: And then once I do those two things and I
- 22:45Speaker 2: stay healthy the whole year, it'll be the funnest year
- 22:48Speaker 2: for Vanderbilt.
- 22:49Speaker 4: When you say hurry up your feet, what are you
- 22:51Speaker 4: doing specific like you're talking about drills?
- 22:52Speaker 3: Are you talking right?
- 22:53Speaker 2: Like some footwork drills more quarterback? Quarterback is drills for
- 22:59Speaker 2: my feet.
- 23:00Speaker 4: Like old school ladder type stuff, like because Rocky they
- 23:02Speaker 4: had the Russian who do the technology stuff, and then
- 23:04Speaker 4: Rocky be out fighting the chicken right right? What version
- 23:06Speaker 4: are you doing?
- 23:07Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I remember you just trying to catch that chicken. No,
- 23:12Speaker 2: I'm doing more like bag work, going over the bags,
- 23:14Speaker 2: going through the bags. Having one thing that we did
- 23:18Speaker 2: last year is Corde and this our other dtackles. Zaylan
- 23:23Speaker 2: would I would just they would take one second and
- 23:26Speaker 2: they would just free rush me and I would just
- 23:29Speaker 2: try to escape Ei spasically, scramble, drill and then find
- 23:31Speaker 2: a receiver.
- 23:32Speaker 4: Do you like before game to be extremely hype or
- 23:36Speaker 4: because we've had other guys come in like m A fighters,
- 23:39Speaker 4: they don't want to be highed. They want to have
- 23:41Speaker 4: good adrenaline, but they don't want to be hyped because
- 23:42Speaker 4: then they don't react and think the same. They want
- 23:44Speaker 4: to be as calm as possible. Where are you before
- 23:47Speaker 4: the game starts?
- 23:48Speaker 2: Oh, I'm hyped. I'm jumping up and down. I'm ready
- 23:52Speaker 2: to go, you know. And then sometimes what's kind of
- 23:55Speaker 2: like embarrassing, though, is sometimes when your energy is too
- 23:59Speaker 2: high and then you're like strying to come down and focus,
- 24:01Speaker 2: you catch like these yawns that are like really kind
- 24:03Speaker 2: of embarrassing and you don't want no one to see us.
- 24:05Speaker 2: So you're like hitting like one of these or something
- 24:07Speaker 2: like that.
- 24:08Speaker 4: And you brought in the plaque here with part of
- 24:11Speaker 4: the goalpost. That's pretty cool.
- 24:13Speaker 2: Oh you like it?
- 24:14Speaker 3: I love it. That's awesome.
- 24:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:16Speaker 4: So how many of these did you guys grab and
- 24:19Speaker 4: say from the goalposts?
- 24:20Speaker 2: Oh? I don't know. That's a uh, that's a Vanderbilt question.
- 24:24Speaker 4: That I mean, that's the first thing I would have
- 24:26Speaker 4: done is saved it, shaved it all down, and then
- 24:28Speaker 4: sold it.
- 24:28Speaker 3: All for parts like I strip.
- 24:30Speaker 4: Yeah, that's that's exactly what what I would have done. Uh,
- 24:34Speaker 4: what about like the Vanderbilt fans, Like again, if you
- 24:37Speaker 4: the culture of Vanderbilt has been a lot of smart kids,
- 24:39Speaker 4: but coach Franklin and coach Lee are the two that
- 24:41Speaker 4: have really brought in that winning culture. I don't think
- 24:45Speaker 4: that they know to love football consistently. I feel like
- 24:48Speaker 4: you've brought that energy to the team. Are more the
- 24:50Speaker 4: Vanderbilt fans, uh, you know, showing support in your dms,
- 24:54Speaker 4: like rooting for you then before last year?
- 24:56Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure, obviously they I don't think they like
- 24:59Speaker 2: knew of me. I was capable of last year, and
- 25:02Speaker 2: I feel like, you know, they're ready to see a show.
- 25:05Speaker 2: Obviously that comes with winning. The more we win, the
- 25:07Speaker 2: more of the show up. But one thing that I
- 25:10Speaker 2: do want to change of Vanderbilt is last year students
- 25:14Speaker 2: were trying to come in. We ran out of student
- 25:15Speaker 2: tickets and I just think that should never happen.
- 25:18Speaker 4: When they also rushed the field there, they rushed it
- 25:20Speaker 4: very nice. They calmly and walked down the stairs. That
- 25:23Speaker 4: was one of them. Really the kinder, gentler stadium rushers.
- 25:26Speaker 3: I've ever seen.
- 25:26Speaker 4: Yeah, I was like, all right, we're in.
- 25:28Speaker 2: The cop was probably like go ahead.
- 25:30Speaker 4: You know what are the facilities like at Vanderbilt? And
- 25:34Speaker 4: I would like for you to walk back to both
- 25:36Speaker 4: schools because I would assume each time was a big
- 25:40Speaker 4: come up and it felt different.
- 25:42Speaker 2: Yeah. When I got to so from coming from Juco.
- 25:45Speaker 2: We worked out in a tent. Literally, Uh, it was
- 25:48Speaker 2: squat racks, like if you walked out on the on
- 25:51Speaker 2: concrete and you were working out in the parking lot.
- 25:54Speaker 2: We just put squat racks on them. And it was
- 25:56Speaker 2: a dome kind of kind of like Arizona State's indoor,
- 26:02Speaker 2: but it was just concrete and we just we squatted
- 26:05Speaker 2: in there. We benched in there, and then it.
- 26:07Speaker 4: Sounds like prison I'll be honest with you, that's what
- 26:09Speaker 4: it kind of what it sounds like, the prison yard
- 26:11Speaker 4: with like a little ten over the top of right right.
- 26:12Speaker 2: It was a military school and the only way that
- 26:14Speaker 2: you were able to get like an extra workout in
- 26:16Speaker 2: is they had like the pull up bars, the dip bars,
- 26:21Speaker 2: and so at Mimi, you really couldn't be up at
- 26:24Speaker 2: a certain time and I would like sneak out of
- 26:26Speaker 2: my room four thirty in the morning and I'm like
- 26:29Speaker 2: trying to like creep on the wall so no one
- 26:31Speaker 2: would see me, and I would go and like work
- 26:33Speaker 2: out from like probably like probably get there a four
- 26:35Speaker 2: forty five work out till about six and then at
- 26:38Speaker 2: or like five point thirty and then come back, take
- 26:41Speaker 2: quick shower and be in formation by like five forty
- 26:43Speaker 2: five because it was military institute. Yeah. And then when
- 26:47Speaker 2: when I went to New Mexico State, it was like,
- 26:49Speaker 2: oh my god, this is heaven, you know. And obviously
- 26:54Speaker 2: you know, they had a really actually a really good
- 26:56Speaker 2: weight room there, but there was like no indoor, no
- 27:02Speaker 2: grass filled. And then I come to Vanderbilt and I'm like,
- 27:06Speaker 2: They're serving steak every single day, chicken every single day.
- 27:10Speaker 2: I'm like, what, Like, what's going on? You know?
- 27:12Speaker 4: The nutrition is a big difference.
- 27:14Speaker 2: Oh, the biggest difference for sure.
- 27:16Speaker 4: And so you can get whatever food you want whenever.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Yeah, shrimp, there's sometimes lobsters.
- 27:22Speaker 3: That's what I was crazy.
- 27:24Speaker 2: Yeah, no, And then the desserts are great too.
- 27:27Speaker 4: So they just have like chefs, cooks always cooking food.
- 27:31Speaker 2: What about snacks, Oh dude, they have like a thing
- 27:36Speaker 2: from this wall to this wolf filled with what's your
- 27:38Speaker 2: favorite snack?
- 27:40Speaker 4: I mean, I love a lot of fruits. I love
- 27:42Speaker 4: a lot of cookies, So I'm a big fruit and
- 27:43Speaker 4: cookies probably.
- 27:44Speaker 2: Yeah, they got that. Yeah, cookies, they got gushers. H
- 27:51Speaker 2: what's those climb bars or something.
- 27:53Speaker 4: And those are any time one in the morning, eight
- 27:55Speaker 4: in the morning.
- 27:56Speaker 2: Eight yeah, all day.
- 27:58Speaker 1: They wouldn't have anything left. We were there.
- 28:00Speaker 4: I know, we can't even have a break room.
- 28:01Speaker 2: Oh you should have saw my So my sister came down. Well,
- 28:05Speaker 2: we took it into Mexico State. Obviously there was like
- 28:07Speaker 2: just bagels and stuff. We go over here. She asked
- 28:10Speaker 2: for a bag and she's like walking around, make sure
- 28:12Speaker 2: no one looks, just like putting snacks in the bag.
- 28:15Speaker 4: We went to Auburn and worked out with the basketball team.
- 28:17Speaker 4: That's what we did in that room.
- 28:18Speaker 2: We walked out.
- 28:19Speaker 4: Dude, we got they had like a trail mix with
- 28:21Speaker 4: Eminem's that's the whole fire. Yeah, so we took it
- 28:24Speaker 4: and we were like putting them in our bag. So like,
- 28:26Speaker 4: I understand what your sister was doing.
- 28:27Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, the stuff's expensive too.
- 28:29Speaker 4: I limited anything is awesome.
- 28:31Speaker 2: Oh yeah. I remember I asked for like a protein
- 28:34Speaker 2: shake and they took me to the back and uh
- 28:36Speaker 2: there was like stack to the top with it was costco,
- 28:39Speaker 2: you know. And I remember I took like a protein
- 28:43Speaker 2: box just home, and I was like, I'm the man.
- 28:47Speaker 4: I would feel the same way. Yeah, I'm saying previous
- 28:50Speaker 4: for the show on Netflix, and I'm a big sec guy.
- 28:52Speaker 4: I grew up in SEC, grew up in Arkansas, so
- 28:54Speaker 4: big Arkansas guy. I would imagine because you guys had
- 28:58Speaker 4: such a good season last year that you're prominently in it.
- 29:01Speaker 4: Have you seen it?
- 29:03Speaker 2: I've seen the trailer, But from the people that I
- 29:07Speaker 2: talked to at Netflix, they said that they really liked
- 29:12Speaker 2: our part in the uh in the show. It was like,
- 29:15Speaker 2: probably the most interesting is what they said.
- 29:17Speaker 4: Do you know when they're there? Did you know when
- 29:19Speaker 4: they were there?
- 29:20Speaker 2: I just think that they were, Well, they started there
- 29:23Speaker 2: the week before Bama leading up to Bama, and then
- 29:26Speaker 2: they caught like four or five games. They went to
- 29:27Speaker 2: the Kentucky game, Tennessee game, Auburn, so maybe four or
- 29:34Speaker 2: five games that they were there, and then they went
- 29:35Speaker 2: to my house as well in Albuquerque.
- 29:38Speaker 4: Did they do mic you up, you know, talk to
- 29:40Speaker 4: you you do like stand up interviews or is it
- 29:42Speaker 4: just like they're just watching like fly on the wall.
- 29:45Speaker 2: No, they would do like one on one interviews, pull
- 29:47Speaker 2: you into the room and do stuff like that.
- 29:49Speaker 4: Was anyone like, hey, they can't put in what you
- 29:51Speaker 4: don't say, so make sure what you say everything you said.
- 29:53Speaker 4: Because I did a reality show once and when I
- 29:57Speaker 4: wasn't working because I did Dancing with the Star. When
- 30:00Speaker 4: I wasn't dancing, I kept my mouth shut because I
- 30:03Speaker 4: knew they could take anything and make it whatever they
- 30:06Speaker 4: wanted to do. They could switch the narrative to do
- 30:07Speaker 4: whatever they wanted. Right, did anybody give you kind of
- 30:09Speaker 4: a like tip, like everything you say can be used
- 30:12Speaker 4: in this Yeah?
- 30:14Speaker 2: They did say that. I feel like there's some maybe
- 30:18Speaker 2: some nut job stuff that I said in there that
- 30:20Speaker 2: maybe they can use in two ways in a game.
- 30:23Speaker 4: It doesn't matter. That's cool because you're being you right, right,
- 30:26Speaker 4: it's the interview stuff they could get you in trouble.
- 30:28Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, And I hope they didn't use it in
- 30:31Speaker 2: a bad way. But I don't think they did. I
- 30:32Speaker 2: think you know, the people that we worked with were
- 30:34Speaker 2: pretty good.
- 30:35Speaker 4: That's pretty cool. They were there for the Bama game though.
- 30:37Speaker 2: Yeah, that was fun. They got to see my family too,
- 30:41Speaker 2: and anyone who knows my family their nut jobs.
- 30:46Speaker 4: Okay, I'm gonna follo up on that. Your family, why
- 30:49Speaker 4: are they so awesome?
- 30:50Speaker 2: Oh? Well, I have two older brothers, a younger sister,
- 30:54Speaker 2: and my mom. And then for the Bama game, like
- 30:57Speaker 2: all my mom has thirteen brothers and sisters, and we
- 31:00Speaker 2: got a lot of friends and stuff and so literally
- 31:03Speaker 2: like seventy three people came or something like that, and
- 31:07Speaker 2: I mean it was a blast, and they had the
- 31:08Speaker 2: camera on them before. So I'm pretty excited to see
- 31:11Speaker 2: like my brothers before the game. But it'll be interesting
- 31:15Speaker 2: that Netflix show.
- 31:17Speaker 1: His brother's got a lot of airtime. I remember overalls.
- 31:20Speaker 2: Yeah, my oldest brother wears the overall, the cowboy hat, Shane.
- 31:25Speaker 4: I would think he's ripped too, I remember that. Yeah,
- 31:28Speaker 4: older yeah, yeah, did he play ball?
- 31:31Speaker 2: Uh an Ai.
- 31:34Speaker 4: So after a game like that or any big win,
- 31:37Speaker 4: I think it would be difficult to get focused quickly
- 31:40Speaker 4: because you went on Saturday, Sunday's big day of celebrating,
- 31:45Speaker 4: even though you're supposed to turn the page. But then Monday,
- 31:46Speaker 4: you're back around other people and all they want to
- 31:48Speaker 4: do is tell you that's amazing. You're doing interviews based
- 31:51Speaker 4: on that. How hard is it to get back on
- 31:53Speaker 4: track after a massive win?
- 31:55Speaker 2: Yeah? I remember we were playing Kentucky. They just came
- 31:57Speaker 2: off a big win of Ole Miss and so I
- 31:59Speaker 2: knew to get on track quick. So what I did
- 32:02Speaker 2: that week I knew was gonna be very busy. I
- 32:04Speaker 2: studied a lot that Sunday night, and then Monday we
- 32:09Speaker 2: were off. So Monday morning, I was studying a lot
- 32:11Speaker 2: just at home and stuff. So I kind of knocked
- 32:14Speaker 2: that all out and I found that useful, you know,
- 32:17Speaker 2: and I'm probably gonna do it this here a lot.
- 32:19Speaker 2: But Sunday my brothers literally opened the bar and closed
- 32:26Speaker 2: the bar that day until they had to fly back
- 32:28Speaker 2: Monday morning.
- 32:30Speaker 4: Oh in your place, Yeah.
- 32:32Speaker 2: I remember. They came to practice. I was like, hey,
- 32:34Speaker 2: well I need to you know, they have my car
- 32:35Speaker 2: and stuff. I'm like, hey, I need a ride. Can
- 32:37Speaker 2: you guys come pick me up. They're freaking hammered coming
- 32:42Speaker 2: into practice, smell like beer. I'm like in the back,
- 32:45Speaker 2: you know, I'm trying to pay attention. They're like dapping
- 32:47Speaker 2: me up, dapping coach kill, coach, back up. And then
- 32:52Speaker 2: one of the guys like, hey, like, we need you
- 32:54Speaker 2: guys to calm down.
- 32:55Speaker 4: Just hope it for.
- 32:57Speaker 2: So they like sat on this side, and every time
- 33:00Speaker 2: we go to the sideline, they were just they're just hype,
- 33:02Speaker 2: you know, they're excited and they're proud of the team.
- 33:08Speaker 4: What was your greatest high school game?
- 33:11Speaker 2: Oh? Shoot, so junior junior year, I had to actually
- 33:17Speaker 2: play JV because of the transfer rule, and I would
- 33:21Speaker 2: say I probably had maybe six touchdowns in the half
- 33:26Speaker 2: and then like I just sat off like the rest
- 33:28Speaker 2: of the day.
- 33:28Speaker 4: So they made you had to play JV and then
- 33:30Speaker 4: you just dominated.
- 33:30Speaker 1: Yeah that's awesome.
- 33:32Speaker 2: Yeah I played. Uh. Freshman, I played varsity. Uh. Sophomore year,
- 33:38Speaker 2: I played varsity, and then my junior year, I transferred
- 33:42Speaker 2: and uh they made me sit down and play JV.
- 33:44Speaker 4: The whole year.
- 33:45Speaker 2: Yeah, the whole year was that boring? Oh it was bad,
- 33:49Speaker 2: you know, like it was. There was like a crazy play.
- 33:52Speaker 2: I was playing running back receiver. I was just I
- 33:55Speaker 2: just like told me, hey, just throw me the ball
- 33:56Speaker 2: real quick. And like we had this other kid who
- 33:59Speaker 2: played quarterback two and if they drew up the route
- 34:03Speaker 2: for him, I'll be like, hey, switch, you play quarterback
- 34:04Speaker 2: real quick and I would run the route, you know,
- 34:09Speaker 2: And so I would I would run the route. But
- 34:10Speaker 2: there was one time like I took I took a
- 34:12Speaker 2: hand off and then running up the left side, I
- 34:14Speaker 2: curve it back to midway and then like some kid
- 34:18Speaker 2: facemasks me, I'd come back and score a touchdown. And
- 34:21Speaker 2: that was the day, I had like six touchdowns in
- 34:23Speaker 2: a half, and so I just like sat on the
- 34:25Speaker 2: sideline and it got it got really boring. I wish
- 34:27Speaker 2: I was able to play varsity. Maybe that affected why
- 34:29Speaker 2: I didn't get any offers. But I'm also from New Mexico.
- 34:33Speaker 3: You know, how was your senior year? Then?
- 34:36Speaker 2: Oh? I ended up getting hurt the first game and
- 34:38Speaker 2: I'd sit out for like six games. But we were
- 34:42Speaker 2: eleven and one and we lost in the playoffs like
- 34:45Speaker 2: forty nine to fifty six.
- 34:47Speaker 4: So you miss your whole junior year. We missed it.
- 34:48Speaker 4: You had to play junior varsity, and then you missed
- 34:50Speaker 4: a big part of your senior year because of injury. Yeah,
- 34:52Speaker 4: so is that why you didn't get the offers, at
- 34:55Speaker 4: least any Division one offers?
- 34:57Speaker 2: No? I felt like because towards the end, I was
- 35:00Speaker 2: still playing football and I was still playing really good.
- 35:02Speaker 4: But were you playing quarterback?
- 35:03Speaker 2: Yeah? And no, I don't think just no one wanted
- 35:06Speaker 2: a five ten, five eleven quarterback. They didn't believe in me.
- 35:11Speaker 4: So why did you choose to go to what did
- 35:14Speaker 4: you how did you what do you call that New
- 35:15Speaker 4: Mexico Military?
- 35:16Speaker 8: Now?
- 35:16Speaker 4: Yeah, why did you choose Nimi.
- 35:18Speaker 2: Oh, my brother chose it for me. Really, I was
- 35:21Speaker 2: thinking about maybe walking on to like a powerhouse, maybe
- 35:25Speaker 2: like Oklahoma. Obviously Baker Mayfield was a walk Onwi Yeah
- 35:29Speaker 2: Tech and Oklahoma exactly, and so I was thinking of
- 35:31Speaker 2: doing like maybe one of those. And it was like
- 35:36Speaker 2: literally a week before and then the Nimmy offensive coordinator,
- 35:40Speaker 2: coach Kaiser, came into my school and was like, Hey,
- 35:43Speaker 2: you need to come to NIMI like this is it'll
- 35:47Speaker 2: work out well for you. We've had five Division one
- 35:50Speaker 2: quarterbacks in three years. It'll be great, Like you'll have
- 35:53Speaker 2: a great opportunity. So we kind of and that was
- 35:56Speaker 2: when that Netflix show, Uh, Last Chance You came out,
- 36:00Speaker 2: and so Juco was big at the time and everyone
- 36:02Speaker 2: was taking looks at it. So I was thinking, just
- 36:05Speaker 2: all right, I'm gonna go Juco for a year and
- 36:07Speaker 2: then I'll transfer D one. And then so when Juco
- 36:11Speaker 2: went UH six and four and then we went to
- 36:16Speaker 2: UH the next year, we went to the National Championshi
- 36:18Speaker 2: won the National Championship, and then that's how I ended
- 36:20Speaker 2: up in Mexico State.
- 36:21Speaker 4: Did you start to get other offers other than New
- 36:23Speaker 4: Mexico State, like Jeff.
- 36:25Speaker 2: Oh I had, I'll tell you when the offers came in.
- 36:28Speaker 2: So I switched. My Twitter has all the offers, like
- 36:31Speaker 2: that's how you get offered nowadays. And on my Twitter
- 36:34Speaker 2: I said I'm from Albuaque, New Mexico. I changed it
- 36:36Speaker 2: to Tampa, Florida. And then once I changed it, literally
- 36:40Speaker 2: a week after, I started getting offers and started talking
- 36:42Speaker 2: to schools, it was crazy.
- 36:45Speaker 4: Because you said, you're a Florida player, and they just
- 36:47Speaker 4: respected the Florida players more.
- 36:49Speaker 2: I guess that's how it works, you know.
- 36:50Speaker 4: Are you sure they just didn't get put onto you right?
- 36:52Speaker 3: No, I'm the same time.
- 36:53Speaker 2: I don't switch it. Hey, I don't know. But once
- 36:55Speaker 2: I switched it, it was like, oh, now these coaches
- 36:58Speaker 2: want to talk to me.
- 36:58Speaker 4: You know, what's the expectation in the season. Is it
- 37:00Speaker 4: a win loss expectation? Is it a show up in
- 37:02Speaker 4: competitive expectation?
- 37:04Speaker 2: It's a win, win, win, the national championship. That's the
- 37:06Speaker 2: expectation for Vanderbilt football.
- 37:08Speaker 4: Do you feel like you're so much further ahead now
- 37:11Speaker 4: than you were last year as a team, Like what
- 37:13Speaker 4: you know and what you're able to do offensively?
- 37:15Speaker 2: For sure? Offensively as a team, yes, too, just like
- 37:20Speaker 2: last year, Like I only came in a month and
- 37:22Speaker 2: a half before, and I was focused on one myself
- 37:25Speaker 2: to win the job, and then two I was just
- 37:28Speaker 2: trying to be around the guys, trying to you know,
- 37:30Speaker 2: know everyone's name. And it was hard because they didn't
- 37:33Speaker 2: know my signals, They didn't know the signals of the offense,
- 37:36Speaker 2: they didn't know some plays in the offense. So we
- 37:38Speaker 2: had to kind of keep it really really basic and
- 37:41Speaker 2: go win with those basic plays because the offensive coordinator
- 37:45Speaker 2: was only there for a semester, you know, and so
- 37:49Speaker 2: that was really hard at first. But now that everyone
- 37:52Speaker 2: knows everything, I mean, we'll shoot up to the moon.
- 37:55Speaker 4: Were people hitting you up after last season to transfer
- 37:57Speaker 4: to other schools?
- 37:59Speaker 2: Well, after I got my year, there were some talks,
- 38:03Speaker 2: for sure, but I knew I was going to stay
- 38:05Speaker 2: at Vanderbilt. I knew where I wanted to be. I
- 38:08Speaker 2: want to, you know, finish something that I started.
- 38:10Speaker 4: How do you feel about the transfer portal just in general?
- 38:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it's a good thing, and I feel
- 38:15Speaker 2: like sometimes it can be used in a in a
- 38:19Speaker 2: not bad way, but just not in the way it
- 38:22Speaker 2: should be used. But I enjoyed the players that come
- 38:26Speaker 2: out of the portal. You know some of the like
- 38:28Speaker 2: Eli at myself, I wouldn't be able to be here
- 38:32Speaker 2: if it wasn't for the portal.
- 38:33Speaker 4: I feel like one, maybe two, and I think that's
- 38:39Speaker 4: where it will eventually be, where it's not a transfer
- 38:41Speaker 4: every I listen, A coach can leave all it once,
- 38:43Speaker 4: so I think it's only fair that a player gets
- 38:45Speaker 4: to leave too, especially at the coach leave especially. So
- 38:48Speaker 4: I'm very pro players making money. I'm very pro players
- 38:51Speaker 4: get into transfer because that's real life. I could leave
- 38:53Speaker 4: this job and go to a different I'm in a contract,
- 38:54Speaker 4: but I could quit, and so I'm very much I'm
- 38:57Speaker 4: very portal friendly. But I wonder if or how you
- 39:01Speaker 4: felt about it, you could leave and go for in
- 39:03Speaker 4: five years, five different schools. Do you feel like that's
- 39:05Speaker 4: a bit excessive?
- 39:06Speaker 2: For sure? I think once you're doing that, I think
- 39:09Speaker 2: coaches should really realize that, you know, maybe you're not
- 39:12Speaker 2: who you say you are. The reason why I left
- 39:14Speaker 2: is because I'm a loyal person and I followed coach
- 39:17Speaker 2: Kill and my office coordinator wherever they've been.
- 39:20Speaker 4: Also, whenever you went to JUCO, that was the idea
- 39:22Speaker 4: of going right right as you want school. Are most
- 39:24Speaker 4: kids there? They're doing that like they're at JUCO so
- 39:26Speaker 4: they can move out.
- 39:27Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the whole plan. Juco's only a two year thing, max.
- 39:31Speaker 4: And is that communicated by the coaches too, Like we
- 39:33Speaker 4: know why you're here, We're gonna try to get you there, right.
- 39:36Speaker 2: So JUCO coaches are trying to get out too. So
- 39:38Speaker 2: that's that's what makes it great, is like, Okay, because
- 39:41Speaker 2: I came in with a four star and the four
- 39:43Speaker 2: star was projected to start over me. And so when
- 39:47Speaker 2: the when they realized the four star was be gives me,
- 39:50Speaker 2: the office coordinator had to play me because he's trying
- 39:53Speaker 2: to get out too, you know. So that's why I
- 39:56Speaker 2: really liked JUCO.
- 39:57Speaker 4: You're a three star.
- 39:58Speaker 2: No, I was a no star.
- 39:59Speaker 4: You were an no star.
- 40:00Speaker 2: I was a negative star.
- 40:01Speaker 3: What sports did you play?
- 40:03Speaker 2: I wrestled and played football.
- 40:05Speaker 3: Or a negative star?
- 40:06Speaker 2: Okay, so they have your ranked as you wrestled, wrestled, Uh,
- 40:13Speaker 2: played football and then I played baseball for two years?
- 40:16Speaker 4: Which sport were you the best at?
- 40:18Speaker 2: People thought I was the best at wrestling, but I
- 40:21Speaker 2: believe that I just loved football so much.
- 40:23Speaker 4: You loved football more.
- 40:24Speaker 2: Yeah, way more.
- 40:25Speaker 4: Could you have wrestled in college?
- 40:27Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 40:27Speaker 4: Could you play baseball in college?
- 40:31Speaker 2: If I would have worked at it? Uh? Yeah?
- 40:34Speaker 4: What coaches had the most impact on your career?
- 40:38Speaker 2: Jerry kol Why?
- 40:40Speaker 4: What's special at him?
- 40:41Speaker 2: Oh? He's hard hat lunch. He's just different, Like you
- 40:44Speaker 2: just talked to him, and he just realizes that you
- 40:47Speaker 2: realized that he would never like he's never lied to me.
- 40:50Speaker 2: Even at New Mexico State, I was going through a
- 40:52Speaker 2: bad time because I wasn't in the starting lineup. We
- 40:53Speaker 2: were one and five, and it just sucked being one
- 40:56Speaker 2: of five, Like losing just is just terrible. And I
- 40:58Speaker 2: was like, hey, like I want to help the team.
- 41:00Speaker 2: I want to come back. I want to go to
- 41:01Speaker 2: a bowl game, Like, how can I step on the
- 41:03Speaker 2: field again? And he told me, just, you know, stop
- 41:06Speaker 2: turning the ball over. Get better in my reads. And literally,
- 41:10Speaker 2: once I stopped turning the ball over and got better
- 41:12Speaker 2: my reads, he pulled me back in the starting lineup.
- 41:13Speaker 2: And it's like he told the people out there, Hey,
- 41:17Speaker 2: play this kid, you know, just let him be, just
- 41:19Speaker 2: let him play. And so once that happened and he
- 41:22Speaker 2: gave me another chance, it was best Off to the
- 41:24Speaker 2: moon but I respect coach Kill because he's never lied
- 41:26Speaker 2: to me.
- 41:27Speaker 4: There have been times where if I were playing a
- 41:29Speaker 4: like a celebrity golf tournament, we're playing a big course
- 41:31Speaker 4: that I can play as a video game, I'll get
- 41:32Speaker 4: on and play the video game. Or I have a
- 41:34Speaker 4: simulator in my house, or I get on and look
- 41:36Speaker 4: at the course. Yeah, yeah, do you get on? Can
- 41:38Speaker 4: you get on college football? Or do you have that
- 41:40Speaker 4: that like that? Jayden Daniels was famous for even doing
- 41:42Speaker 4: stuff in the simulator. Do you have any do you
- 41:44Speaker 4: have the ability to do that at all?
- 41:45Speaker 2: Like look ahead, Oh well we watch film like uh so,
- 41:49Speaker 2: say we play Kentucky, We watch film already in the
- 41:51Speaker 2: Kentucky stadium, but you don't realize what it is until
- 41:55Speaker 2: you actually play in that environment.
- 41:57Speaker 4: What do you mean in the stadium?
- 42:00Speaker 2: Like once, once you're in it, once you're there. Like
- 42:03Speaker 2: sometimes like Auburn's debt perception is kind of different than
- 42:06Speaker 2: Kentucky's because it just like goes up higher and stuff
- 42:10Speaker 2: on the on the walls.
- 42:12Speaker 4: But so, oh, I don't know what you're saying on
- 42:14Speaker 4: the walls.
- 42:15Speaker 2: Like like like like they don't.
- 42:17Speaker 4: Did they digitally put a room around you?
- 42:18Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, Like this is like when you step
- 42:21Speaker 2: into the arena, okay in real life and real this
- 42:23Speaker 2: is real life? Okay, yeah, got it. Auburn holds like
- 42:25Speaker 2: one hundred and four thousand, Kentucky doesn't hold as much.
- 42:28Speaker 2: Sure how much they hold, but it's like a whole
- 42:31Speaker 2: extra layer you know, that goes up. So like the
- 42:33Speaker 2: debt perception is a little bit off.
- 42:34Speaker 4: Could you play college football twenty six though, and diagnose, like,
- 42:38Speaker 4: look at coverage as they're putting in and go, okay,
- 42:40Speaker 4: what would I do here?
- 42:41Speaker 3: What would I do there?
- 42:41Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 42:42Speaker 3: Have you played with yourself?
- 42:43Speaker 2: I've only got to play once and that was at
- 42:45Speaker 2: the media days.
- 42:47Speaker 4: Can you call every defense though, even even if you're
- 42:49Speaker 4: not good with your fingers on the sticks, could you go, Okay,
- 42:53Speaker 4: they're gonna blotch safety. They're you know, yuther two obviously,
- 42:56Speaker 4: so we'll look at the hook here.
- 42:58Speaker 2: Yeah. I always do that, But sometimes it's the video
- 43:01Speaker 2: game is different than real life, and so that's why
- 43:03Speaker 2: sometimes it's kind of cracked. But I also like to
- 43:06Speaker 2: mess around on the video game. Just throw one on
- 43:08Speaker 2: one jump balls to Eli.
- 43:10Speaker 4: That's what you guys are doing in JV chunkin balls.
- 43:14Speaker 2: I try to get him to wide h me out
- 43:16Speaker 2: how Cam Newton did at Auburn. But Eli's like man
- 43:21Speaker 2: I throwing a jump ball to No. Five time Mexican.
- 43:24Speaker 4: What quarterback do you watch or did you watch as
- 43:27Speaker 4: a kid that inspired you?
- 43:29Speaker 2: Johnny Manziel, he was cold. He's a That guy is
- 43:33Speaker 2: just a different athlete.
- 43:36Speaker 4: Has he reached out to you at all?
- 43:38Speaker 2: We talked a few times. He's a real cool dude.
- 43:44Speaker 2: He's just when I watch his tape two, he's just
- 43:47Speaker 2: he's wired different. That's what I really like about him.
- 43:50Speaker 5: Eddie, you enjoy Nashville, Like I always feel like, you know,
- 43:54Speaker 5: you all these players go to different schools or whatever,
- 43:57Speaker 5: but they don't really don't you working? Are you working
- 43:59Speaker 5: out all the time? You're getting trying to get better
- 44:01Speaker 5: all the time. Do you get to enjoy the town
- 44:03Speaker 5: that you live in? Which is pretty cool?
- 44:06Speaker 2: Yeah? I would, you know. Obviously we're known for like
- 44:08Speaker 2: that country music vibe Broadway, So sometimes maybe I enjoyed
- 44:14Speaker 2: it too much last year where I need to take
- 44:16Speaker 2: a kick back. But I've had my fair share down
- 44:21Speaker 2: Broadway and and uh at Losers and stuff like that.
- 44:26Speaker 2: So this year I'm I'm gonna chill back. I'm gonna
- 44:28Speaker 2: just you know, it's grind mode. This is the last dance,
- 44:31Speaker 2: But I gotta meet some cool people too, like maybe
- 44:33Speaker 2: like THEO Vaughn. Yeah, I think that guy's really he's
- 44:36Speaker 2: a jokester and he does not lose characters, don't you
- 44:38Speaker 2: mean him? He was at the Bama game and then
- 44:41Speaker 2: after he invited me to one of his shows and
- 44:44Speaker 2: I couldn't go because my sister had a game, and
- 44:46Speaker 2: then we just connected from there and just, uh, we've
- 44:50Speaker 2: had a good time.
- 44:51Speaker 4: He's interesting.
- 44:52Speaker 2: Oh yeah, he's a jokeser. In half.
- 44:54Speaker 4: We were sitting at dinner once and he was by
- 44:56Speaker 4: himself and I went up. I was like, hey THEO.
- 44:58Speaker 4: He's like, hey, he was by himself, by himself, and
- 45:00Speaker 4: he had ordered food yet, but he came over and
- 45:02Speaker 4: sat with us and for like twenty minutes until his
- 45:04Speaker 4: food arrived, and like as soon as he sat down,
- 45:07Speaker 4: I'm not even gonna say a character. He was just
- 45:08Speaker 4: who I thought he was. He was just like, oh
- 45:11Speaker 4: he was freaking theovon at the table and just was
- 45:15Speaker 4: was really funny, but in that way of like is
- 45:17Speaker 4: this even real? Exactly it's like, is he playing? And
- 45:22Speaker 4: since then they didn't know each other, Yeah, I didn't
- 45:24Speaker 4: know him. He was like, hey, I watch your YouTube
- 45:26Speaker 4: and I was like, dude, I watch your stuff too.
- 45:28Speaker 4: So he's like, do you care if I come and
- 45:29Speaker 4: sit with you? That's what he said, and I was like, no,
- 45:31Speaker 4: come on over there, and so he sat with us
- 45:33Speaker 4: for probably twenty minutes. But then I've seen him since
- 45:36Speaker 4: we were at airte here in town, you know, doing
- 45:39Speaker 4: IV and stuff. And he comes in and sits right
- 45:41Speaker 4: down by me and he goes, I wanted to buy
- 45:42Speaker 4: your old house. Didn't say hello, didn't say we haven't
- 45:45Speaker 4: seen each other a month, and for like twenty minutes,
- 45:48Speaker 4: he did the Theovonne thing. But I think that's just
- 45:50Speaker 4: him now, because I wondered at first, like is he
- 45:52Speaker 4: just act? I'm like yeah, but it's been so consistent
- 45:56Speaker 4: that I feel like that's just him.
- 45:58Speaker 2: Yeah, he's uh bro. He makes me laugh every time
- 46:01Speaker 2: I see that guy. I remember my we walked in
- 46:04Speaker 2: he was getting an ivy. Uh what's that place called
- 46:08Speaker 2: right there by the mall? Ye?
- 46:09Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, and as athletes worry about us.
- 46:14Speaker 2: And he and I walk in and he's like in
- 46:16Speaker 2: the back room on his computer doing like a little thing.
- 46:20Speaker 2: And I told my brother, hey, act super weird, like
- 46:22Speaker 2: you're deaf or something, or like just act like you're
- 46:25Speaker 2: deaf blind and act like you don't know English, you know.
- 46:30Speaker 2: And he like walks in and he like acts like
- 46:33Speaker 2: he's like a germophobe. And he was just like you
- 46:37Speaker 2: wanted to do this thing? Was like, what's up?
- 46:39Speaker 1: Man?
- 46:39Speaker 2: And he's like trying to like dap him up, and
- 46:41Speaker 2: he's like, is your guy good? You know? But he's
- 46:46Speaker 2: he's never lose his character.
- 46:49Speaker 4: Yeah, I think it's his real self.
- 46:50Speaker 2: Yeah, he's a really good person. Though he treats me
- 46:54Speaker 2: really will.
- 46:54Speaker 4: I've seen him treat people wonderfully, like he's always super kind.
- 46:58Speaker 4: We were I remember he sat down from Louisiana from
- 47:00Speaker 4: Arkansas and we sat down and he's like, uh, you know,
- 47:04Speaker 4: I've been to Arkansas before. And I was like, cool,
- 47:07Speaker 4: that's awesome. I could tell he was going he's gonna
- 47:09Speaker 4: tell a story. He said, we used to go up
- 47:10Speaker 4: there in Turkey hunt. He said you have a turkey
- 47:13Speaker 4: and I said.
- 47:13Speaker 2: Yeah, a little bit.
- 47:14Speaker 4: He said that's stuff ain't fair And I said, why
- 47:16Speaker 4: what's up? Because we'd be in camp. We'd hunt for
- 47:18Speaker 4: like six seven hours through the morning, and then we'd
- 47:22Speaker 4: go back and you know, we didn't kill any turkey,
- 47:24Speaker 4: so we put our guns away. We got dressed in
- 47:27Speaker 4: our normal clothes, got on the truck and drove out
- 47:29Speaker 4: because well, my buddy saw a turkey and said no,
- 47:31Speaker 4: we got to get out. So we got out and
- 47:32Speaker 4: shot and he killed the turkey from the truck. He's like, no,
- 47:33Speaker 4: the game's over. You don't get to go up to
- 47:35Speaker 4: the fourth the quarter and go back and throw it
- 47:36Speaker 4: another path. He was like, I felt like that was cheating,
- 47:39Speaker 4: Like we said game over.
- 47:40Speaker 3: They can't.
- 47:41Speaker 4: And so it was like this whole eight minute monologue
- 47:43Speaker 4: that wasn't playing, but it was so funny and it
- 47:46Speaker 4: was exactly what like he does on his podcast on
- 47:48Speaker 4: stages right, yeah.
- 47:49Speaker 2: Yeah, and then tone he does it too. He like
- 47:53Speaker 2: he's so good at telling stories. He's yeah, he's elite
- 47:56Speaker 2: at what he does.
- 47:57Speaker 4: Physically, you feel good right now?
- 47:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel really good. This is probably the best
- 48:01Speaker 2: I felt since the end of season. I was kind
- 48:05Speaker 2: of beat up after the Kentucky game. I got hurt,
- 48:07Speaker 2: But now I feel really good.
- 48:09Speaker 3: Do you have to.
- 48:11Speaker 4: Not throw too much right now?
- 48:14Speaker 2: Oh, you're as far as as far as arm carriers
- 48:16Speaker 2: part of it.
- 48:16Speaker 4: Yeah, Like are you how is your arm is in
- 48:19Speaker 4: shape right now? Or do you wait to get it
- 48:20Speaker 4: into perfect shape like before the season starts.
- 48:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm putting like some oil on it, you know,
- 48:25Speaker 2: get it greased up. But I don't throw too many
- 48:29Speaker 2: practice past that practice. Once we go into fall camp,
- 48:32Speaker 2: probably like the second week is when it'll pick up,
- 48:34Speaker 2: and then it'll die down, and then one season hits,
- 48:37Speaker 2: we'll be ready to go.
- 48:38Speaker 4: Will you ice your arm after a game like a pitcher?
- 48:41Speaker 4: Oh no, if you've thrown forty balls.
- 48:43Speaker 2: I've only thrown forty balls about four times in my.
- 48:46Speaker 4: Career, most of the JV games that one game.
- 48:53Speaker 2: But yeah, like I'll hop in a little ice or
- 48:56Speaker 2: something that always does a trick.
- 48:58Speaker 4: What do you do right after a game your body?
- 49:01Speaker 2: Oh? Shoot, I usually just relax. Let me think that's
- 49:08Speaker 2: a good question.
- 49:09Speaker 4: You ever get in that like that the chamber of
- 49:11Speaker 4: the cold thing that the.
- 49:11Speaker 3: Cryo h the Carole therapy.
- 49:14Speaker 2: No, we don't have one of those at Vanderbilt. I
- 49:19Speaker 2: probably I just go in the next day. They have
- 49:21Speaker 2: treatment like at eight in the morning, So I always
- 49:23Speaker 2: go into there and just I'm big on my legs,
- 49:26Speaker 2: just making sure those are healthy because my arm's always
- 49:28Speaker 2: gonna come with.
- 49:29Speaker 4: It after the season. NFL aspressions for sure.
- 49:34Speaker 2: I mean they can't tell the highs and winner that
- 49:35Speaker 2: he can't get drafted, you know they can't.
- 49:38Speaker 4: And it's also you know, there have been other five, ten,
- 49:41Speaker 4: five eleven.
- 49:42Speaker 2: Quarterbacks right that have gotten drafted and have played well exactly, Yeah,
- 49:47Speaker 2: I haven't. I had. I actually know more quarterbacks over
- 49:51Speaker 2: six foot one who have played I guess less not
- 49:57Speaker 2: as good than a people under six foot.
- 50:01Speaker 4: Are they investing in your Heisman campaign Vanderbilt? Have they
- 50:04Speaker 4: told you any they're gonna do?
- 50:05Speaker 2: Yeah? For sure. That's a part of it, right right right,
- 50:08Speaker 2: And I think it just comes with good play as well,
- 50:12Speaker 2: and that just that a result, you know, when we
- 50:15Speaker 2: started winning football games.
- 50:16Speaker 4: Well, I really appreciate you coming in. It's super cool
- 50:19Speaker 4: to watch you develop and watch you start to be
- 50:22Speaker 4: a more of a household name in college football last year,
- 50:24Speaker 4: because it definitely happened about midway through and then people
- 50:26Speaker 4: just followed you all year and I'm sure you felt
- 50:28Speaker 4: that as well. And you know, hopefully you gotta take
- 50:30Speaker 4: that momentum roll over this year.
- 50:32Speaker 2: No, for sure. I appreciate your Bobby, thank you for
- 50:34Speaker 2: having me too.
- 50:34Speaker 3: What about the schedule if you looked at.
- 50:36Speaker 2: It, yeah, there'd be some intense games. I love all
- 50:40Speaker 2: our road games too. Those all be fun environments.
- 50:44Speaker 4: What's the hardest place that you've ever had to play?
- 50:47Speaker 2: Oh, that's a good question, conference, you would say. I
- 50:50Speaker 2: would say liberty. Liberty was up there, just the fans
- 50:54Speaker 2: where it was like the sideline was here and then
- 50:57Speaker 2: a foot away like right there is where the stands were,
- 50:59Speaker 2: so could like you could hear him. Minnesota was a
- 51:04Speaker 2: good one. It was the first game in literally the
- 51:06Speaker 2: field was shaking, you know.
- 51:09Speaker 4: And what about last year? What was the hardest place
- 51:11Speaker 4: you had to play?
- 51:13Speaker 2: Let me think, I don't think, Alice, you really lived
- 51:18Speaker 2: up to the hype.
- 51:19Speaker 4: What time?
- 51:20Speaker 2: Maybe it was a field though?
- 51:21Speaker 4: Were you playing day or night?
- 51:22Speaker 2: Night?
- 51:23Speaker 4: You really?
- 51:24Speaker 2: Yeah? And it really wasn't. I honestly think that the
- 51:29Speaker 2: whole statum didn't show up that day. But you know,
- 51:32Speaker 2: they got the best of us still, so we had
- 51:34Speaker 2: to come in with so fire. When they come to town, we'll.
- 51:36Speaker 4: Do congratulations rooting for you was rooting for you last year,
- 51:39Speaker 4: didn't you know? It took a couple of games for
- 51:41Speaker 4: it was like, all right, like I like this dude.
- 51:43Speaker 4: I like what he does, I like his energy.
- 51:44Speaker 2: Yeah, come check us out. We'll have a good time,
- 51:46Speaker 2: for sure.
- 51:47Speaker 4: They last year they were like, come up into the
- 51:48Speaker 4: booth and uh, you know, do you know hop on
- 51:52Speaker 4: with some of the guys and talk during the game.
- 51:54Speaker 4: And I was like, if I go up and they lose,
- 51:56Speaker 4: they're gonna blame me because anything out of the ordinary,
- 51:59Speaker 4: if it had happens and there's a loss, fans love
- 52:02Speaker 4: to connect it to something else for sure. So last
- 52:04Speaker 4: year I didn't do that because I don't want to
- 52:05Speaker 4: be connected to any loss. This year, I'm gonna look
- 52:07Speaker 4: at the schedule and find the game you're really gonna win.
- 52:09Speaker 4: I'm gonna come up. I'm gonna come up because that
- 52:11Speaker 4: way it won't be assigned to me. I won't be
- 52:12Speaker 4: the reason. Do you guys win or lose. I'll just
- 52:14Speaker 4: be up there doing my thing.
- 52:16Speaker 2: Well, just come out and if anything happens, you blame
- 52:18Speaker 2: it on me.
- 52:19Speaker 3: Well they'll do that anyway, or they'll what credit are
- 52:22Speaker 3: you for it?
- 52:22Speaker 2: Too? Yeah?
- 52:22Speaker 4: Do you feel like quarterback gets all the credit, too
- 52:24Speaker 4: much credit and too much blame. For sure.
- 52:26Speaker 2: There's three people that we always talk about. It's the
- 52:28Speaker 2: head coach, the offensive coordinator, and the quarterback. And when
- 52:33Speaker 2: we win, we get too much praise, and when we lose,
- 52:36Speaker 2: they all throw us under.
- 52:37Speaker 4: With coach Lee being such a defensive guy, do you
- 52:39Speaker 4: spend much time with him?
- 52:40Speaker 2: Oh? Yeah, I asked him a lot of questions about
- 52:42Speaker 2: the defense. He's like thinking about different types of ways.
- 52:46Speaker 2: Like we see NFL coverages all day, and like they'll
- 52:51Speaker 2: get to a Cover two doing some weird stuff and
- 52:54Speaker 2: it's like, bro, how are you doing that? That's not
- 52:56Speaker 2: even a true cover that looks like Cover three? You know,
- 52:58Speaker 2: but that stuff is just way different, just a lot
- 53:02Speaker 2: of third third and long stuff that they get to.
- 53:04Speaker 4: Eddie, you have final question. O.
- 53:06Speaker 5: Man, it's just awesome having you here. I mean, my
- 53:08Speaker 5: favorite was watching you in New Mexico because that was
- 53:10Speaker 5: like late for us, you know, so like after I'd
- 53:13Speaker 5: lost all my bets of the day, I'm like New Mexico.
- 53:17Speaker 1: So dude, it's really cool having here.
- 53:19Speaker 4: That's funny because those are the games we watch after
- 53:22Speaker 4: Central time Zone, after all of our games Eastern and
- 53:24Speaker 4: Central Go. We're watching like Oregon State, New Mexico. Yeah,
- 53:27Speaker 4: like you got playing later, so we can watch those
- 53:29Speaker 4: games later.
- 53:30Speaker 2: I remember at New Mexico State we were like ninety
- 53:33Speaker 2: three against the spread or something like that.
- 53:36Speaker 4: That's Eddie, you should know that watching Diego. Good to
- 53:40Speaker 4: see you, man, really appreciate that.
- 53:41Speaker 2: I appreciate you guys having me right.
- 53:44Speaker 4: Super cool to have Diego here, Eddie. I'm actually gonna
- 53:47Speaker 4: give you you can have the helmets. No, the goalpost.
- 53:50Speaker 3: Oh yeah, that's one of my so straight out the river.
- 53:53Speaker 4: Maybe the answer should be thank you.
- 53:55Speaker 1: Well, I wasn't gonna get there.
- 53:56Speaker 2: I see.
- 53:57Speaker 3: He's like, yeah, give it to me.
- 54:00Speaker 1: I don't even have in my hands yet.
- 54:01Speaker 4: Dude, Diego gave me a plaqueaus Vanderbilt forty number one
- 54:04Speaker 4: Alabama thirty five, October fifth, twenty twenty four, and it's
- 54:07Speaker 4: part of the goal post and he signed it's you
- 54:09Speaker 4: should have.
- 54:09Speaker 1: That's hey, hey, Bobby, thank you dude. That's awesome.
- 54:12Speaker 4: We've just met with such aggression, Like, yeah, of course
- 54:15Speaker 4: he's so mad about the weekend.
- 54:17Speaker 1: No, no, not one stroke.
- 54:18Speaker 4: Is good, dude, actually is Yeah, I know it's a
- 54:20Speaker 4: good spot. It's actually very very competitive.
- 54:23Speaker 7: This is cool that last day. I really hope he wins.
- 54:26Speaker 7: Not I hope it goes to I guess it's out
- 54:30Speaker 7: total score, right, that's what it is.
- 54:31Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like a turn in there.
- 54:32Speaker 4: Mindy. If one of us is up six going into
- 54:34Speaker 4: the last round, it doesn't matter because one of us
- 54:36Speaker 4: can have a bad day and shoot ninety three.
- 54:37Speaker 3: Yeah, it's true.
- 54:38Speaker 5: Yeah, And then we'll decide what we do if we're
- 54:41Speaker 5: tired at the end, right, like the sudden death playoff off?
- 54:44Speaker 1: Do we play another round? Do we just go back
- 54:46Speaker 1: to eighteen?
- 54:47Speaker 4: Like you know, I think we should make that before
- 54:51Speaker 4: we do the last round. Yes, yes, So we don't
- 54:54Speaker 4: need to be in the round and think of it,
- 54:55Speaker 4: but we don't have to do it right now. Okay,
- 54:57Speaker 4: So that's the goalpost.
- 54:59Speaker 1: That is awesome thing, Thank you man.
- 55:00Speaker 4: And not only that, so I really cool. Had a
- 55:03Speaker 4: couple of friends come in town. One of them is
- 55:06Speaker 4: the Cincinnati head coach, Coach Saddlefield.
- 55:09Speaker 1: That's amazing that you calling them, like, that's that's your
- 55:12Speaker 1: friend now.
- 55:13Speaker 4: I think it is because now.
- 55:14Speaker 1: We text awesome dude.
- 55:15Speaker 4: So they were like, hey, we're coming to the operator. No, No,
- 55:18Speaker 4: So okay, remember we went to Cincinnati. His chief of staff,
- 55:22Speaker 4: He's like, just call me Chief Chief.
- 55:24Speaker 3: Yes.
- 55:25Speaker 4: So he hit me up and he was like, hey,
- 55:28Speaker 4: what can we do in Nashville. I'm bringing coach. But
- 55:31Speaker 4: the thing about it's because he's coach Spear now. Chief
- 55:35Speaker 4: is now back to being coach Spear, and Coach Spear
- 55:37Speaker 4: was like a head coach has been a head coach
- 55:38Speaker 4: before as well. Chief and cheap Yes, Chief was the
- 55:41Speaker 4: chief of staff at Cincinnati and a coach Saderfield. Chief
- 55:44Speaker 4: goes back to Appalachian State and is like running high
- 55:48Speaker 4: school recruiting for Frapplation State, which is where he was
- 55:51Speaker 4: with Coach Saderfield got it. So Coach Spear Chief hit
- 55:55Speaker 4: me up. I was like, hey, we're coming to town.
- 55:56Speaker 4: What can we do? And I was like I have
- 55:59Speaker 4: a few things you can do. Like who's coming? He
- 56:01Speaker 4: was like it was me and my wife. It's coach
- 56:02Speaker 4: sata Field and his wife. And this is like two
- 56:04Speaker 4: months ago. And I was like, you guys do this,
- 56:06Speaker 4: do that like go to the Bluebird, go to the
- 56:08Speaker 4: Hall of Fame, but you should go to the opry
- 56:10Speaker 4: and I'll make sure I play that night, so I
- 56:13Speaker 4: can like, you guys, come back in the back.
- 56:15Speaker 3: I'll give you the tour.
- 56:16Speaker 4: And they were like, great, it's like three months ago
- 56:17Speaker 4: they set this up, and so they come. That's what
- 56:20Speaker 4: they did. So they went and watched the first part
- 56:22Speaker 4: and like Mark Willis performed and Abby Cone performed, and
- 56:26Speaker 4: then I put him back in the crowd. But we
- 56:28Speaker 4: hung out the whole time backstage, and then I performed
- 56:30Speaker 4: for like ten eleven minutes. I did some of the
- 56:31Speaker 4: joke you talked about they did, yeah, which, by the way,
- 56:34Speaker 4: I'll tell you what worked and what only kind of worked.
- 56:37Speaker 4: The calling Eddie to say if he wants to feel
- 56:40Speaker 4: things that turned the fantasy football joke. Yeah, yeah, that
- 56:44Speaker 4: did well.
- 56:45Speaker 3: Nice. Yeah, but we thought that did good in this room.
- 56:48Speaker 4: Yeah, And I thought maybe the lyctose intolerant being allergic
- 56:51Speaker 4: to cheese and from the south's like being a cowboy
- 56:52Speaker 4: allergic just horse. That one kind of thing I thought
- 56:54Speaker 4: for old people. They had liked that one.
- 56:55Speaker 1: It was, it did mid it did man at the opry,
- 56:58Speaker 1: I thought that'd be a good time.
- 56:59Speaker 4: I got me too, because they don't do pop culture
- 57:00Speaker 4: references to the operate because sometimes the crowd so old.
- 57:03Speaker 4: It did mid but that one worked really well. I
- 57:05Speaker 4: did like three new jokes. It's fine. I hadn't done
- 57:07Speaker 4: stand up in a long time. So I felt a
- 57:08Speaker 4: little disjointed all together. But it was fun to see them.
- 57:11Speaker 4: And so they brought and Eddie, I have you some
- 57:14Speaker 4: stuff from from uh.
- 57:17Speaker 1: Dang, that's awesome. So hey, thank you Bobby.
- 57:21Speaker 4: There you go. Look at that.
- 57:22Speaker 3: Thanks chief. Oh that's what he didn't say. Give it
- 57:25Speaker 3: to Eddie a bunch of Eddie.
- 57:28Speaker 4: Okay, anything Kevin, they didn't well, they didn't say they
- 57:31Speaker 4: about Eddie.
- 57:32Speaker 1: Why would they say anything like Kevin.
- 57:33Speaker 3: I'm just making sure.
- 57:34Speaker 4: I asked for large. So that's yours. Awesome, you want it?
- 57:37Speaker 3: Thank you?
- 57:38Speaker 1: Yes, of course, Thank you Bobby.
- 57:39Speaker 4: Then you're welcome. And then here's the app state chart.
- 57:41Speaker 3: I kept some of the stuff too.
- 57:44Speaker 4: That's really cool. Boom dude.
- 57:45Speaker 3: The Vandy people gave us stuff to have you tried
- 57:48Speaker 3: it on, Eddie.
- 57:48Speaker 4: I didn't see. I never saw any of.
- 57:50Speaker 3: It, Eddie.
- 57:50Speaker 2: Eddie took gears.
- 57:52Speaker 1: That's not true.
- 57:53Speaker 4: I saw nothing.
- 57:54Speaker 3: I mean, I don't wear large. Do you wear large
- 57:56Speaker 3: to work out in?
- 57:57Speaker 1: Oh? You do? Yeah?
- 57:59Speaker 5: I only took one thing. Maybe two, there's no there
- 58:03Speaker 5: there's some left. Oh there is, I think.
- 58:05Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 58:05Speaker 3: Well, what I got is super comfy.
- 58:08Speaker 4: I saw nothing.
- 58:09Speaker 1: M you did get a helmet?
- 58:12Speaker 4: No, but they left stuff and they were like, hey,
- 58:14Speaker 4: we left you stuff, and I was like, cool, I'll
- 58:15Speaker 4: go check it out. And then all of a sudden
- 58:16Speaker 4: it was all gone.
- 58:17Speaker 3: Yeah there's some stuff here, I think, So I don't
- 58:19Speaker 3: want anything.
- 58:20Speaker 4: Do you watch you UFC fights?
- 58:21Speaker 3: It did?
- 58:21Speaker 1: Oh yeah, it is awesome.
- 58:22Speaker 4: Did uh Dustin poier Wine you win?
- 58:25Speaker 3: Now?
- 58:26Speaker 1: His last fight in the UFC and he lost it again.
- 58:29Speaker 4: I don't follow UFC enough to know how influential and
- 58:33Speaker 4: how transcend or whatever the term you want to use.
- 58:35Speaker 2: Uh.
- 58:36Speaker 4: I just saw theobon like he's been my guy the
- 58:37Speaker 4: whole time. So we went was there and then I
- 58:40Speaker 4: saw him and is a guy named Halloway. Halloway afterward,
- 58:43Speaker 4: complaining that they didn't win fight of the night.
- 58:46Speaker 1: There were some really good fights that were before that.
- 58:49Speaker 4: They were both like all jacked up and they were
- 58:50Speaker 4: like talking after the fight. They beat the crap out
- 58:52Speaker 4: of each other and they're back in the back talking
- 58:53Speaker 4: with each other after the fight and Hall Max Halloway
- 58:57Speaker 4: Max Halloway Max aloways, like, we don't even get f
- 58:58Speaker 4: and fight of the night somebody. Yeah, because there's like
- 59:01Speaker 4: a bonus somebody.
- 59:02Speaker 5: Yeah, there was one like maybe two or three fights
- 59:04Speaker 5: before then that was really really good, really really good.
- 59:07Speaker 4: So is done.
- 59:10Speaker 1: Yeah, and it was he's from.
- 59:12Speaker 5: Louisiana, So they fought in New Orleans and it was
- 59:14Speaker 5: just a good like.
- 59:14Speaker 1: Good bye came out with them. When was there? Little
- 59:17Speaker 1: brought him in the octagon after the fight. That's cool
- 59:20Speaker 1: a little bit. I'm just like, what you what are
- 59:22Speaker 1: you doing?
- 59:22Speaker 4: Well? I did see that Poorer said if he won,
- 59:24Speaker 4: he won a little way to put the belt on him.
- 59:25Speaker 3: It's Halloway a champ.
- 59:27Speaker 5: They this is the third time that they fought, so
- 59:30Speaker 5: they both have won once and then now yeah, Halloway's like,
- 59:33Speaker 5: and it w wasn't for the champion. It wasn't for
- 59:34Speaker 5: like weight class championship. It was for the BMF. Bad mother,
- 59:38Speaker 5: I know what BMF means. Yeah, but that's a real belt.
- 59:40Speaker 1: Yeah, Like that's the belt that they were fighting for.
- 59:43Speaker 4: So is that just one you just say it exists?
- 59:45Speaker 3: Dana White created it like four years ago. They didn't
- 59:48Speaker 3: make it up, No, yeah, okay. Dana White was like, hey,
- 59:50Speaker 3: we need this for to promote more fights.
- 59:53Speaker 1: I guess a bad mother and.
- 59:54Speaker 4: It's a it's it's a fighting for the GMF golf mother.
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: Awesome.
- 1:00:01Speaker 4: Do you want any money?
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: Yeah, dude, I want like a hundred bucks on UFC.
- 1:00:05Speaker 5: I never win a hundred bucks, but it was one
- 1:00:07Speaker 5: of those nights where like I only do five dollars bets, right,
- 1:00:09Speaker 5: so like every time i'd win one, I'd be like,
- 1:00:12Speaker 5: you know what, let me just take my winnings and
- 1:00:14Speaker 5: keep doing it.
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: It was like a night in.
- 1:00:16Speaker 5: Vegas where you're just like, let it ride it and
- 1:00:18Speaker 5: I just kept hitting boom boom, but.
- 1:00:19Speaker 4: There was nobody with you, channing let it ride. Yeah,
- 1:00:22Speaker 4: just med Yeah, so you're chanting to yourself.
- 1:00:24Speaker 5: It was just me and after like nine thirty or
- 1:00:26Speaker 5: ten o'clock the whole family goes to bed, so literally,
- 1:00:28Speaker 5: it was just me to like one in the morning.
- 1:00:30Speaker 4: Let it ride. So late, I think that's so lamets
- 1:00:37Speaker 4: are so late, that's so late, so late, I don't
- 1:00:39Speaker 4: even watch them, but even then, it's so late. Like
- 1:00:41Speaker 4: I remember staying up on Netflix watching the Tyson and
- 1:00:44Speaker 4: Jake Paul. It didn't go off till like eleven thirty.
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: Yes, no, dude.
- 1:00:46Speaker 5: The worst was when we were coming back from like
- 1:00:49Speaker 5: a show we were playing maybe I think in DC
- 1:00:51Speaker 5: and McGregor was fighting Cowboy and Cowboys sarone and I
- 1:00:56Speaker 5: was like, you know what, if I time it right,
- 1:00:58Speaker 5: like I could probably make it home by the time
- 1:01:00Speaker 5: McGregor fights. So I bought it for like eighty dollars
- 1:01:05Speaker 5: and it goes on and it was the one that.
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: Lasted for five seconds.
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: Oh damn.
- 1:01:10Speaker 5: I bought the UFC fight to watch five seconds of
- 1:01:13Speaker 5: a fight and I hated it.
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: I was so mad.
- 1:01:15Speaker 4: That's funny. All Right, we're done, Thank you guys, Thanks
- 1:01:18Speaker 4: to Diego Pavia for coming in. Eddie, we'll give it
- 1:01:22Speaker 4: a run round two. We're gonna play this week.
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: I think we can. There's time to play this week
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: if you're able to.
- 1:01:28Speaker 4: We'll have to figure out a time. Because Eddie was like,
- 1:01:29Speaker 4: I have nothing to do this weekend, and so I
- 1:01:31Speaker 4: hit him up because like kind of last minute, we
- 1:01:33Speaker 4: went and played yesterday kind of early. George Burge got
- 1:01:36Speaker 4: back in town, and I don't get to see Georgia
- 1:01:38Speaker 4: like because he's kind of killing it with his country career,
- 1:01:41Speaker 4: and he was like, I'm getting in town because he
- 1:01:42Speaker 4: had to show in Alabama. He's like, I'll be in
- 1:01:44Speaker 4: town early if you want to play golf, and so
- 1:01:46Speaker 4: Eddie was like, I have nothing to do.
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: So I text him.
- 1:01:47Speaker 4: I was like, you want to go. We're going with
- 1:01:48Speaker 4: George and he was like, no, can't play like you literally,
- 1:01:52Speaker 4: but you literally said you had nothing to do.
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: It is why I asked, Sundays are tough, man.
- 1:01:54Speaker 4: We got church, and then you said you had nothing
- 1:01:57Speaker 4: to do Saturday. You said the whole weekend.
- 1:01:59Speaker 5: Well, that's my weekend, Saturday, because Sunday, duo, we gotta
- 1:02:03Speaker 5: get back on the grind.
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: That's when we.
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: Start working in the yard and like a restart day.
- 1:02:06Speaker 4: Yeah, you had a shot one hundred and ten yesterday
- 1:02:09Speaker 4: it was so hot. I shot eighty nine. Sweat my
- 1:02:11Speaker 4: glove hands.
- 1:02:12Speaker 5: Dude, eighty nine. That would have been my day to
- 1:02:14Speaker 5: catch up on you. You gotta shot one hundred ten.
- 1:02:16Speaker 4: You me'ss what I said.
- 1:02:16Speaker 5: Nah, I wouldn't have shot a hundred and ten. I
- 1:02:19Speaker 5: do right now that we're competing. I don't have one
- 1:02:21Speaker 5: hundred and ten in me. That score doesn't exist in
- 1:02:23Speaker 5: my golf repertoire.
- 1:02:26Speaker 4: One down, three to go, you're dead okay, maybe maybe
- 1:02:31Speaker 4: you're dead right, maybe, dude.
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: It's so much fun though. I love it. I love it.
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: I'm glad we're doing this so we can finally just.
- 1:02:38Speaker 4: This is all your baby. I didn't challenge you.
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: What do you mean? Do you challenge me every time?
- 1:02:42Speaker 4: I know when we play, I like to win, but
- 1:02:45Speaker 4: you're the one I want to show you I'm the
- 1:02:46Speaker 4: best first and forever. I'm like, all right, and then
- 1:02:49Speaker 4: you're like four rounds, no, get like, dude, okay, but
- 1:02:52Speaker 4: we don't play like that normally, So why would you,
- 1:02:55Speaker 4: in like a definitive moment of who's the best, play
- 1:02:57Speaker 4: different than you always play. That was my point.
- 1:03:00Speaker 5: After this is said and done, Like anytime you're like, hey,
- 1:03:03Speaker 5: what's your score, I'm like, don't matter, dude, I'm better
- 1:03:04Speaker 5: than you.
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: It's gonna be so awesome.
- 1:03:07Speaker 3: And then what if it's the opposite.
- 1:03:08Speaker 5: Then man, I'm gonna be like, all right, dude, like
- 1:03:10Speaker 5: I'll try to beat him every single round again for
- 1:03:12Speaker 5: the rest of our life.
- 1:03:13Speaker 4: I'm up one stroke going into this week. All right,
- 1:03:15Speaker 4: that's it. Thank you, guys. We will see you, guys.
- 1:03:17Speaker 4: Later on this week hit It Eddie Bye Everybody theme
