A former El Paso teacher, Rachael Anne Lucas, faces 16 serious charges after allegedly abusing non-verbal special education students in May 2025 at Charles Q. Murphree PK-8 School. Prosecutors say she used everyday objects like a broom, chair, and dustpan to strike children, pushed and threw them, and even sprayed one with liquid.
