- 0:57Speaker 1: heads up. I am going to attempt to run a
- 0:59Speaker 1: slide show while I do this, so everybody give me
- 1:03Speaker 1: a lot of grace. But I am terry true crime
- 1:06Speaker 1: and welcome to Midday Missing, where we highlight current missing
- 1:10Speaker 1: person cases that need more attention. Guys. We do shows
- 1:15Speaker 1: every Monday and Wednesday at noon Central time, unless Couch
- 1:21Speaker 1: Court with Lama is live streaming a trial, then we
- 1:25Speaker 1: will sometimes move it. And speaking of Couch Court with Lama,
- 1:30Speaker 1: welcome to everybody that poured it over from Couch Court
- 1:34Speaker 1: with Lama. Guys, Chad Davell is insane, okay, and I
- 1:42Speaker 1: hope that I'm glad misbehaving that you didn't get motion sickness.
- 1:47Speaker 1: I hope everybody remembered to tuck their arms in and
- 1:50Speaker 1: hold on to their butts. Okay. Now, before we get
- 1:54Speaker 1: into today's cases, please be sure to hit that like
- 1:58Speaker 1: button and subscribe, because guys, it is really important for
- 2:04Speaker 1: Midday Missing. I mean, yes, it helps our channel to
- 2:07Speaker 1: get the word out there about all of our shows,
- 2:10Speaker 1: but for Midday Missing, it's really important so that that algorithm,
- 2:15Speaker 1: god math, whatever they call it helps these individuals get
- 2:22Speaker 1: the recognition that they deserve. Okay, so now we are
- 2:28Speaker 1: going to get struck on our case and let's see
- 2:32Speaker 1: how Terry can do here. Okay, guys, I did it.
- 2:39Speaker 1: So today we're going to talk about Brittany. She was
- 2:42Speaker 1: born on July sixth, nineteen ninety seven. She was five
- 2:47Speaker 1: feet tall and about one hundred and fifty pounds with
- 2:50Speaker 1: black hair and brown eyes. Guys, I bet you she
- 2:53Speaker 1: said she was like five foot one, just because five
- 2:56Speaker 1: foot you know. But she had black hair, brown eyes.
- 2:59Speaker 1: She was only fourteen years old, and guys, on the
- 3:02Speaker 1: day that she disappeared, she was wearing a plink floral
- 3:06Speaker 1: shirt and blue denim shorts. Okay, it's all pink like it. Guys.
- 3:12Speaker 1: What you need to remember is that Brittany isn't just
- 3:15Speaker 1: a missing person. She's not just a poster. Okay. She's
- 3:19Speaker 1: a daughter, a friend, and a child with her whole
- 3:23Speaker 1: future in front of her. Also, think about she was
- 3:27Speaker 1: this classmate, she was a student. Think of the trauma
- 3:32Speaker 1: all of those kids have to deal with now. Her mother,
- 3:37Speaker 1: Tiana Hoague, remembers that the last thing Brittany said to
- 3:40Speaker 1: her was simple and full of love. Love you mom,
- 3:45Speaker 1: see you later, Goose. Those are the last words she
- 3:50Speaker 1: ever heard from her daughter. Guys, this is another reason
- 3:55Speaker 1: always remember to say goodbye, I love you whatever it
- 4:02Speaker 1: is before you leave or go, you know, in the car,
- 4:05Speaker 1: even if you're mad at somebody, because you just never know.
- 4:10Speaker 1: You just never know. Now, it was the morning of
- 4:14Speaker 1: June fourteenth, twenty twelve, when Britney's aunt dropped her off
- 4:18Speaker 1: at her father's home on Recovery Road in Mobile, Alabama
- 4:24Speaker 1: around nine am. Now, Brittany was working to establish a
- 4:28Speaker 1: relationship with her father, and she had planned a two
- 4:32Speaker 1: day visit. Now, her father, dimitric Le Baron Hooper, was
- 4:39Speaker 1: the last person known to have seen her alive. Now,
- 4:44Speaker 1: when Brittany didn't come home, her family reported her missing.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Weeks passed with no sign of her. Okay, guys, I
- 4:54Speaker 1: have so many questions. Why did her dad not? I mean,
- 5:00Speaker 1: I just have a lot of questions, Okay, Now, Like
- 5:03Speaker 1: I said, weeks past with no sign of her. Then,
- 5:06Speaker 1: on July ninth, police found Hooper at a psychiatric hospital
- 5:11Speaker 1: in Fort Smith, Arkansas, where he had checked himself in
- 5:16Speaker 1: for treatment of schizophrenia. Now, Hooper has been hospitalized before
- 5:23Speaker 1: for schizophrenia and for drug issues, so this was, you know,
- 5:29Speaker 1: not his first foray into that. Now, what investigators discovered
- 5:35Speaker 1: was triply I mean deeply, deeply, triply troubling. In guys,
- 5:41Speaker 1: I have so many questions, and I'm going to get
- 5:43Speaker 1: emotional and I'm going to try not to cry. Hooper
- 5:46Speaker 1: had Britney's pink iPod with him, along with two knives
- 5:50Speaker 1: and a rope. The guys, Britney was still nowhere to
- 5:56Speaker 1: be found. Now. Her dad Hooper had a prior history
- 6:00Speaker 1: of arrest for DV and for assaulting a police officer. Guys, Guys, Now,
- 6:13Speaker 1: In August twenty fourteen, Hooper played guilty to custodial interference
- 6:18Speaker 1: in Brittany's case. He was sentenced to ten years in prison,
- 6:22Speaker 1: but served just over four and was released in December
- 6:26Speaker 1: twenty sixteen. Guys, Okay, hold on, are you ready? What
- 6:33Speaker 1: the actual fuck? Custodio interference? She's missing, She's a child.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Custodio Interference is where you don't take the child home
- 6:46Speaker 1: after a weekend visitation and you keep them for four
- 6:49Speaker 1: or five extra days. Okay, it's not They're missing and
- 6:55Speaker 1: haven't been seen, and then you only serve just four
- 7:00Speaker 1: years out of your ten years. Okay. Now, her family,
- 7:05Speaker 1: the rest of her family was left with nothing but
- 7:09Speaker 1: wondering where she is. What is she asleep? Is she
- 7:15Speaker 1: getting food? Is she being tortured? The silence is just
- 7:21Speaker 1: awful to make matters even more concerning. Brittany had severe asthma.
- 7:27Speaker 1: She didn't take her medications with her when she left
- 7:30Speaker 1: for that visit. Without her inhaler and prescriptions, Guys, it's
- 7:34Speaker 1: unlikely she could have survived long on her own. Okay,
- 7:38Speaker 1: First question is I have asthma. I don't go away
- 7:42Speaker 1: for two days and not take my medication with me.
- 7:45Speaker 1: This was a child. Somebody needs to make sure their
- 7:49Speaker 1: kids take their stuff. Okay. Now, for years this case installed. Okay. Then,
- 7:56Speaker 1: in February twenty twenty four, a Mobile County green injury
- 8:01Speaker 1: indicted Hooper for murder, even though Britney's body had never
- 8:05Speaker 1: been found. Okay. Finally, now authority stated publicly that they
- 8:11Speaker 1: believe Britney was deceased. Now, the case finally went to
- 8:16Speaker 1: trial in June twenty twenty five. Now, prosecutors argued that
- 8:22Speaker 1: Hooper killed Brittany. After picking her up that morning, pointing
- 8:26Speaker 1: to her missing medication, her abandoned belongings, and his troubling history.
- 8:32Speaker 1: But the defense stressed that there was nobody, no crime scene,
- 8:37Speaker 1: and no direct evidence linking Hooper to her death. Guys,
- 8:45Speaker 1: a June ninth of this year, the jury returned a
- 8:49Speaker 1: verdict of not guilty. Okay, guys, I guess, but there's nobody,
- 9:01Speaker 1: there's no crime scene, but he had her pink eyepod.
- 9:05Speaker 1: He didn't report her missing. The rest of the family
- 9:09Speaker 1: had to report her missing. That is just wrong. Now
- 9:15Speaker 1: for her family, guys, just imagine this was another devastating blow. Okay.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Thirteen years of waiting and still no answers and still
- 9:25Speaker 1: nothing nothing Okay now, guys, Today Brittany would be twenty
- 9:31Speaker 1: seven years old, and instead of celebrating her milestones, her
- 9:36Speaker 1: family is left clinging to memories and to the hope
- 9:40Speaker 1: that one day someone will come forward with the truth. Sadly,
- 9:44Speaker 1: those guys, her father can never be tried again. He's
- 9:48Speaker 1: found not guilty. Now. They could try to get him
- 9:52Speaker 1: for kidnapping or something if they get evidence, but the
- 9:56Speaker 1: murder because of double jeopardy, nothing can be done. Okay now,
- 10:03Speaker 1: if you have any information about what happened to Brittany
- 10:07Speaker 1: Chantey Robinson, please call the Mobile Police Department at two
- 10:12Speaker 1: five one to zero eight seventeen hundred. Guys, maybe he
- 10:17Speaker 1: took her across straight lines, state lines. Maybe that's why
- 10:21Speaker 1: he went to Arkansas. Because if so, then that becomes
- 10:24Speaker 1: a federal case. So I don't know if they could
- 10:28Speaker 1: file additional charges besides murder, like taking her across state
- 10:35Speaker 1: lines for nefarious reasons. I don't know. So even the
- 10:38Speaker 1: smallest tip could help bring this family answers, because guys,
- 10:44Speaker 1: they deserve it after this. Okay, you can also help
- 10:49Speaker 1: by sharing Britney's story, keeping her name alive, and reminding
- 10:54Speaker 1: others that she has not been forgotten. Use hashtags like
- 10:59Speaker 1: hashtag justice for Britney Robinson. We need to flood social
- 11:04Speaker 1: media so that man can see it, okay, and others
- 11:09Speaker 1: can come forward now. Britney's story is tragic and the
- 11:14Speaker 1: justice system has not provided closure, but that doesn't mean
- 11:18Speaker 1: this case is over. Someone out there knows what happened
- 11:22Speaker 1: and if she has deceased, where her remains are. Until
- 11:26Speaker 1: the truth comes out, we all need to keep telling
- 11:30Speaker 1: her story, Okay, because she deserves the justice. Now, Guys,
- 11:38Speaker 1: if you know of or have a loved one missing
- 11:42Speaker 1: and are interested in having their story featured on an
- 11:44Speaker 1: upcoming episode of Midday Missing, or if your family member
- 11:50Speaker 1: and you want to join us for a live interview,
- 11:53Speaker 1: you can contact us by emailing Amy at tcwtmedia dot
- 11:57Speaker 1: com or me at tar at tcwtmedia dot com, or
- 12:03Speaker 1: you can send us a DM on our Facebook page
- 12:06Speaker 1: or any of our socials. I agreed, I'm glad they
- 12:11Speaker 1: at least tried to get a conviction. I am, but man, really,
- 12:20Speaker 1: that's just heartbreaking, just heartbreaking. Now, guys, On the afternoon
- 12:28Speaker 1: of August twenty seventh, twenty twenty four, just last year,
- 12:33Speaker 1: thirty six year old Brandy Nicole McClellan crouch, she got
- 12:38Speaker 1: a long name, Brandy Nicole McLellan Crouch. She was last
- 12:42Speaker 1: seen walking along US Highway three thirty one near County
- 12:47Speaker 1: Road eighteen in Florola, Alabama. Now. Witnesses reported she was barefoot,
- 12:54Speaker 1: wearing a red sleeveless shirt and black shorts, and carrying
- 12:59Speaker 1: a small okay. Two dogs accompanied her on that walk,
- 13:04Speaker 1: a white bulldog and a little small brown dog. Okay.
- 13:07Speaker 1: It is reported that she got into an argument with
- 13:10Speaker 1: her dad and stormed off. So, guys, I'm going to
- 13:15Speaker 1: just tell you today, dad cases. Okay, there's no dad
- 13:20Speaker 1: jokes today. Now Brandy is five foot seven, She weighs
- 13:26Speaker 1: between one hundred and twenty five one hundred and thirty pounds.
- 13:29Speaker 1: She has a slender build. Now family and friends said
- 13:32Speaker 1: she had no vehicle at the time with her and
- 13:36Speaker 1: did not appear to have a phone at the time.
- 13:39Speaker 1: The siding along the highway would be the last confirmed
- 13:43Speaker 1: trace of her. Now. When Brandy did not return home
- 13:47Speaker 1: or make contact, her family grew concerned. I mean, the
- 13:56Speaker 1: Covington County Sheriff's office quickly became involved an investigation in
- 14:01Speaker 1: issuing public appeals for information. But guys, despite searches of
- 14:07Speaker 1: the area and repeated calls to the community, no confirmed
- 14:11Speaker 1: belongings were located, and the dogs that she was walking
- 14:16Speaker 1: returned to Brandy's father's house a couple of days later,
- 14:21Speaker 1: according to Project Cold Case. Now, her family, especially her
- 14:26Speaker 1: stepmother Julie, has spoken out describing Brandy as someone who
- 14:31Speaker 1: deserves compassion, empathy, and not to be forgotten, and she's
- 14:37Speaker 1: urged the public to treat Brandy's case with humanity and
- 14:41Speaker 1: to remember that she has loved and deeply missed. Now.
- 14:45Speaker 1: News articles that I read did not say what Brandy's
- 14:48Speaker 1: past was specifically, but guys, I agree, if you're new here,
- 14:53Speaker 1: guess what. No matter what mistakes you've made, that should
- 14:59Speaker 1: not make it any less p important to find the
- 15:01Speaker 1: person who's missing and find what happened to them. If
- 15:05Speaker 1: they're not a serial killer or a pedo, they deserve
- 15:09Speaker 1: to be found, okay. And if they're a serial killer pedo,
- 15:12Speaker 1: they need to be found because they need to be
- 15:14Speaker 1: in prison. Okay. Now, Brandy was said to have a
- 15:18Speaker 1: lot of love for animals and had rescued everything from
- 15:22Speaker 1: dogs to squirrels. Okay. She was even known to stop
- 15:27Speaker 1: and help turtles cross the road safely. Guys. That is
- 15:31Speaker 1: so me and I love that about Brandy. That tells
- 15:35Speaker 1: you that she has a good heart. Okay. Now, community
- 15:40Speaker 1: members have organized awareness efforts online and off, sharing missing
- 15:47Speaker 1: missing person posters, circulating her story, and urging anyone who
- 15:52Speaker 1: may have seen something that day to come forward. Guys.
- 15:56Speaker 1: A reward has also been offered for credible information. Guys.
- 16:01Speaker 1: This shows how desperately her loved ones want answers as
- 16:07Speaker 1: of now, Brandy remains missing. Okay. Investigator stressed that any detail,
- 16:14Speaker 1: no matter how small, could help. Guys, even if it's
- 16:18Speaker 1: a rumor, hearsay, you overheard it, you think you saw
- 16:22Speaker 1: someone that looked like that, it doesn't matter. It could
- 16:27Speaker 1: lead to answers. Okay. So we're not the police. We
- 16:32Speaker 1: do not know what could help. Okay. So if you
- 16:37Speaker 1: have information, you're asked to contact the Covington County Sheriff's
- 16:41Speaker 1: Office at three three four four two eight twenty six
- 16:46Speaker 1: forty one or Central Alabama Crime Stoppers at three three
- 16:51Speaker 1: four two one five seven eight six seven. Guys, this
- 16:56Speaker 1: is not just a case file, okay. It's the story
- 17:00Speaker 1: of a daughter, a loved one, and a family and
- 17:04Speaker 1: a community are still searching for answers. Someone knows what
- 17:09Speaker 1: happened that day along Highway three three D one, three
- 17:12Speaker 1: thirty one, and her family is still waiting for answers. Okay, guys,
- 17:19Speaker 1: that is very important that they get answers. Now, guys,
- 17:27Speaker 1: I want to remind you all please go and share
- 17:32Speaker 1: the missing poster flyers for Brittany and Brandy that are
- 17:36Speaker 1: posted on our Midday Missing Facebook page. Let's do our
- 17:40Speaker 1: part get the word out there. Okay, we need to Okay,
- 17:47Speaker 1: we need to do that now. Today I'm going to
- 17:52Speaker 1: give you some interesting tips. They're not my normal tips. Okay.
- 17:57Speaker 1: September is disaster Preparedness month, and as an active community responder,
- 18:04Speaker 1: I wanted to share my top preparedness tips. Okay, build
- 18:09Speaker 1: your emergency kit, guys, you trust me, you will thank yourself. Okay.
- 18:15Speaker 1: You need to have a gallon per person for three days. Okay.
- 18:22Speaker 1: When I'm talking disasters, hurricane season, fires, flooding, freezes, tornadoes,
- 18:29Speaker 1: I mean you should have this at all times. We
- 18:33Speaker 1: have a place in our home where we have this. Okay.
- 18:36Speaker 1: You also want three days of non perishable food. So
- 18:40Speaker 1: growing up, because lived in Houston, we had to deal
- 18:44Speaker 1: with hurricanes, we had hurricane food that we were only
- 18:47Speaker 1: allowed to eat deering hurricanes, so Vienna sausage and Beanie
- 18:51Speaker 1: Weenies in the can. Okay, y'all are gonna laugh, But
- 18:55Speaker 1: anytime I see those items, I'm like, oh, that's hurricane food. Okay.
- 19:00Speaker 1: Also have flashlights and extra batteries. You also want to
- 19:04Speaker 1: have first aid supplies okay, because, believe it or not,
- 19:10Speaker 1: in flooding, you can still cut your finger on something
- 19:14Speaker 1: do something you still need it, Okay. Also make sure
- 19:18Speaker 1: you have extra medication and essential documents. So for me,
- 19:24Speaker 1: I have a week's worth of my critical medications in
- 19:28Speaker 1: a bag in my go bag. I have copies of
- 19:32Speaker 1: my birth certificates, solid security card, driver's license, things that
- 19:36Speaker 1: you will need to be able to get new ones. Okay.
- 19:41Speaker 1: You also want to have a charged portable phone charger. Okay.
- 19:46Speaker 1: A lot of people do not have home phones anymore. Okay.
- 19:51Speaker 1: Another critical thing, you need to have a communication plan.
- 19:55Speaker 1: What I mean by that where will you meet your family?
- 19:59Speaker 1: So what if you were out at the mall okay
- 20:02Speaker 1: and there's an evacuation notice and you need to meet
- 20:06Speaker 1: your family somewhere because they're going to be evacuating. You
- 20:09Speaker 1: need to have a place to meet. Okay. You also
- 20:13Speaker 1: need to designate an emergency contact and who will not
- 20:17Speaker 1: be with you and doesn't live in the home. Think
- 20:19Speaker 1: of someone outside of the area. So like me, my
- 20:23Speaker 1: son JEFFA is one of my emergency contacts because he
- 20:26Speaker 1: lives in California. He's not going to be here and
- 20:29Speaker 1: it's someone that people can get in touch with. Also, guys,
- 20:34Speaker 1: we're getting older, okay, we are all used to having
- 20:38Speaker 1: our phones in speed dial. I do not know everyone's
- 20:42Speaker 1: phone numbers anymore. I used to be able to rattle
- 20:44Speaker 1: them off. Okay, but you need to have important phone
- 20:50Speaker 1: numbers printed in case you lose your cell phone. Oh,
- 20:55Speaker 1: lady in Gray learned after Hurricane Heleen to pass, I
- 21:00Speaker 1: could copy of your voter ID, whether it's your driver's
- 21:02Speaker 1: license or a different state card from your state. That
- 21:06Speaker 1: is good to know. Did not know that one. Also, Guys,
- 21:12Speaker 1: keep a go bag in your car. Okay, keep a
- 21:16Speaker 1: go bag in your car. Okay. You need to have water, blankets, snacks, flashlight,
- 21:24Speaker 1: and extra medication. Guys, I will never forget when my
- 21:30Speaker 1: kids were young. I was a single mom. We lived
- 21:32Speaker 1: in sugar Land. We were driving down the road and
- 21:37Speaker 1: there was a tornado coming down the freeway towards US.
- 21:42Speaker 1: I didn't have all this crap in my car. If
- 21:45Speaker 1: something would have happened, me and my kids would have
- 21:47Speaker 1: been sol Luckily, the tornado turned and followed the river
- 21:54Speaker 1: and didn't keep going down the freeway and we were fine. Okay, guys,
- 22:00Speaker 1: prepare for your pets. The amount of people who do
- 22:05Speaker 1: not prepare for what to do. I have seen people
- 22:09Speaker 1: who have to evacuate for fires and flooding, and they
- 22:13Speaker 1: leave their pets behind. I try really hard not to judge,
- 22:20Speaker 1: but prepare for your pets. Don't leave them there to
- 22:23Speaker 1: die or to just don't do it. Okay, keep a
- 22:30Speaker 1: bag ready with extra food, lesious, and medication so we
- 22:33Speaker 1: have a go back for the dogs. Okay. Now, sadly,
- 22:37Speaker 1: I do not have a go bag for the goats,
- 22:40Speaker 1: but I can guarantee you this. They would be stuck
- 22:43Speaker 1: in the car with us because they can eat grass anywhere.
- 22:48Speaker 1: Lady and Gray, you need to know numbers in case
- 22:50Speaker 1: you ever get arrested. Okay, Lady and Gray. My mom
- 22:56Speaker 1: always told me Mom and Daddy that, yeah, don't ever
- 23:00Speaker 1: call me from jail. So if you're gonna know those numbers,
- 23:05Speaker 1: make sure it's somebody who will actually come and get you,
- 23:08Speaker 1: because my parents would have been my note, Kathy, I'm
- 23:13Speaker 1: with you. I will never leave my pets. Like I said,
- 23:18Speaker 1: my goats would even get in the back of a
- 23:20Speaker 1: car with me. Okay. Now, this next tip is gonna
- 23:24Speaker 1: make probably most of you roll your eyes. Okay, those
- 23:29Speaker 1: that are in the chat, that are on the replay crew,
- 23:32Speaker 1: go ahead and roll your eyes at me. Just go ahead,
- 23:37Speaker 1: but trust me, this is important practice drills with your family.
- 23:42Speaker 1: Practice practice practice, guys. For our emergency response team, we
- 23:49Speaker 1: practice monthly, quarterly. All of this stuff you need to
- 23:53Speaker 1: know because adrenaline kicks in. I was just listening to
- 23:59Speaker 1: a podcast weekend about the flooding that happened in Montacito,
- 24:04Speaker 1: and I have to tell you people were not prepared
- 24:09Speaker 1: motion to scream. I tell my kiddo, I'm her first
- 24:13Speaker 1: call if she gets arrested. Okay, that I think is
- 24:20Speaker 1: awesome because I was raised not to. Now my kids know,
- 24:26Speaker 1: I probably would come and get them. It would depend
- 24:29Speaker 1: on what they did. It would depend on what they did.
- 24:33Speaker 1: If they're Chad Dabel, No, I'd be like, who, I
- 24:37Speaker 1: don't know you and I would hang out. But guys,
- 24:41Speaker 1: I do want to thank you all for joining me today.
- 24:46Speaker 1: I know today was a little bit different. Okay, Kelly
- 24:52Speaker 1: p exactly, make sure she don't talk to the cops exactly.
- 24:56Speaker 1: Ask for an attorney. Okay, ask for an attorney, you know,
- 25:01Speaker 1: just ask for an attorney. Now, guys, I want you
- 25:07Speaker 1: thank you all for joining me. I look forward to
- 25:09Speaker 1: seeing you again on Wednesday for our next episode of
- 25:13Speaker 1: Midday Missing. Now, don't forget. You can follow us on
- 25:18Speaker 1: all of the socials. Okay, we are out there. You
- 25:22Speaker 1: can find us under True Crime and Wine Time, Tarry,
- 25:24Speaker 1: True Crime, Midday Missing. We are out there. For some reason,
- 25:29Speaker 1: my computer just decided it doesn't like me. But also
- 25:34Speaker 1: I do want to ask you to join our Midday
