- 0:01But just talking a little spree trading baseball. I mean, I have to
- 0:04hope the Red Sox. We just asked about the Phillies. Gal's a big
- 0:08Phillies fan, obviously, But your team's had some decent runs the last couple
- 0:11of years. When they went to the World Series two years ago, right,
- 0:14they should have went this year? Yeah, everybody everybody thought it was
- 0:20we outscored the Diamondbacks like eighty to nothing in the first two games. Then
- 0:26we went down to their place and they realized, you know, why are
- 0:29we throwing these guys fastballs? They can't hit any breaking balls. So for
- 0:33the rest of the series, all they threw was breaking balls, and we
- 0:35just said, all right, let's go on vacation. Is that like the
- 0:39sixty World Series where the Yankees won a bunch of blowouts, three blowouts and
- 0:44lost a while one of the Pirates. Don't get me started. We have
- 0:49a leadoff it or either hits own runner strikes out. Well, what leadoffs
- 0:52are just supposed to get on first base? Well that's baseball today. It
- 0:55doesn't matter if it's only analytics. Yeah, I don't I know, I
- 0:58don't like it either. The Paul's had a tough year. There are four
- 1:03games under five hundred. They will I mean, unless they do something in
- 1:06the Big East Tournament, they won't be any postseason play for Doug's team.
- 1:08What have you seen from the Dugs team? Struggling right now? They've lost
- 1:11three straight, lost seven of nine coming in. Yeah, they lost to
- 1:15it. They lost their two best players. They left for more money,
- 1:19well not for more money, they left for money because they weren't getting any
- 1:23money at the Paul. So one kid went to LSU, their best player.
- 1:30The other kid went to Mississippi State kid Rogers, Oh yeah, yeah,
- 1:34I forgot about her, Yeah yeah, and whoever graduated, And so
- 1:38they bring in, you know, a whole bunch of new guys that you
- 1:42know, are not as good as the guys that they replaced. So it's
- 1:48been a really difficult year. It's been a really difficult year for them.
- 1:53But their style of play is just crazy, chaotic and anything could happen on
- 1:59any nine, So who knows. But yeah, I kind of feel for
- 2:07him because at those small schools like that, not that the Paul's a small
- 2:10school, I mean they got twenty five thousand kids, but at those mid
- 2:15major kind of sort of programs and you don't have the money or the tradition
- 2:21to keep people there, you're going to keep losing your best players. You
- 2:25know. It's that's just what's been happening. You know, those schools are
- 2:30going to lose players and there's nothing they can do about it. There's nothing
- 2:38they can do about it. All right, we'll take one more quick break
- 2:39on the radio show here and then we'll wrap things up with Gino here on
- 2:44Learfield. Stay with us Lide from Kaffey Or in Manchester
