- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, what's going on, everybody? I'm the one, the
- 0:01Speaker 1: only w o Okay, I e kind of giving you
- 0:03Speaker 1: a little prelude to this. This was recorded quite a
- 0:06Speaker 1: while ago. We're just getting it up to you guys now, unfortunately,
- 0:11Speaker 1: but this one was from Vault Tour Paris. I believe
- 0:15Speaker 1: this is gonna be Ewok talking to zim Zudi, Lord
- 0:18Speaker 1: Judo and Harmed some AC team members that went to
- 0:23Speaker 1: that Vault tour. Kind of giving you a little recap
- 0:25Speaker 1: so you might hear stuff that I may be dated
- 0:27Speaker 1: at this point, but just sip back, relax, grab some
- 0:30Speaker 1: pop parn and enjoy.
- 0:47Speaker 2: I am the one, the only, the e w Ok
- 0:50Speaker 2: Underscore Junior, and I am here today with some fellow
- 0:53Speaker 2: AC members, not our cast of usual misfits, but some
- 0:58Speaker 2: very very important and we are here to talk about
- 1:03Speaker 2: the Vault Tour Paris. And so with me coming in,
- 1:07Speaker 2: you may have gone ahead and known. You may have
- 1:11Speaker 2: seen him actually in our recent Shattered Realities preview, Italian
- 1:15Speaker 2: Stalion himself. Zizudi, Hello guy, how are you.
- 1:18Speaker 3: It's a pleasure to be here, and thanks to York.
- 1:22Speaker 2: And two other amazing members who I had the privilege
- 1:27Speaker 2: of being able to spend some time with. At our
- 1:29Speaker 2: last KFC, we have the Dutch deuce duo, Lord Judo unharmed.
- 1:37Speaker 2: That is right AKA. You might have seen him as
- 1:40Speaker 2: Flip Stalliard and dre Conis, so welcome Lord Judo.
- 1:46Speaker 4: Thank you, thank you for introducing me the Dutch Deuce.
- 1:49Speaker 2: That's yeah, I mean it is a really really important
- 1:53Speaker 2: title as I hold the deuce. So it is all
- 1:56Speaker 2: that we are all together and draconis himself harmed.
- 2:02Speaker 5: Welcome man, okay for community, very glad to be here.
- 2:06Speaker 5: Thanks Deuce. We have two deuces now, amazing.
- 2:10Speaker 2: All the deuces. We'll go ahead and get into that
- 2:14Speaker 2: real quick. We'll talk more on our usual cast is.
- 2:16Speaker 2: I'm the only usual member who is here today. We're
- 2:21Speaker 2: recording during a time when well the usual colleagues are outworking.
- 2:25Speaker 2: But I'm going to use my teacherability to help us out.
- 2:28Speaker 2: And so right now, our game found campaign is going on.
- 2:33Speaker 2: If you have not already gone ahead and back to keyboard, shadded,
- 2:35Speaker 2: reality is happening. And right now we have three hundred
- 2:38Speaker 2: and eighty backers at one hundred and twenty five thousand dollars.
- 2:41Speaker 2: So great job, guys, Are you excited about the new
- 2:44Speaker 2: shatter reality that is coming.
- 2:48Speaker 5: Oh yes, absolutely the newest spoilers by the time that
- 2:51Speaker 5: this releases. Brobnara Mars look incredible. There's so much cool
- 2:56Speaker 5: stuff in there, and I don't want to put too
- 2:57Speaker 5: many spoilers out there if people want to keep are free.
- 3:00Speaker 5: But they look really nice.
- 3:02Speaker 3: Mm hmm, yeah, I totally agree. I was kind of
- 3:06Speaker 3: sure on what houses I wanted to pick from the
- 3:10Speaker 3: from the campaign, but with the new spoilers, I re
- 3:12Speaker 3: evaluated some of them.
- 3:14Speaker 4: So yeah, yeah, I'm also quite excited. And I think
- 3:19Speaker 4: our friends the Motility uh Dragons and the Motility five,
- 3:23Speaker 4: they're into the lore and the aesthetics of it. And
- 3:26Speaker 4: I saw a picture of a doorstep to Heaven that
- 3:29Speaker 4: wasn't really doorseep to Heaven anymore. So there's the first
- 3:32Speaker 4: time I'm like, hey, something, something's happening in the cruiseible,
- 3:36Speaker 4: which it feels pretty cool. So I'm excited.
- 3:40Speaker 5: Yeah, there is actually Lord to this game.
- 3:43Speaker 2: Yeah, there is there is Lord to the game. We
- 3:47Speaker 2: have seen some darkness approaching and I'm really curious to
- 3:49Speaker 2: see what happened to that doorstep, but some great artwork.
- 3:53Speaker 2: I know, not everyone follows along for that, Zui, you
- 3:57Speaker 2: actually had a beautiful side of two cards that you
- 4:00Speaker 2: want ahead and introduce. So if you've not checked that out,
- 4:02Speaker 2: where should our listeners go ahead and take a peak?
- 4:05Speaker 2: Because you recorded both in Italian and English, so it's
- 4:08Speaker 2: going to hit a large chunk of individuals who could listen.
- 4:10Speaker 2: But where should they find that radio?
- 4:12Speaker 3: Yeah, it's on the TIMG channel, which is basically an
- 4:17Speaker 3: Italian channel. Over All, we usually spotlight things like events
- 4:23Speaker 3: or personality or lists of what we think are the
- 4:26Speaker 3: best order worst cards of each set. But they've done
- 4:31Speaker 3: quite a big, big job to keep people interested. I
- 4:35Speaker 3: was saying Ales on the discord lately, the Italian community
- 4:40Speaker 3: is growing a lot. We have quite a bit of
- 4:43Speaker 3: people joining every week, so we wanted to share our
- 4:47Speaker 3: spoilers both you know, we're native language, to increase the
- 4:50Speaker 3: number of people's here, but you also felt like everyone
- 4:54Speaker 3: should have them in I would say the native language,
- 4:58Speaker 3: but something closer to.
- 4:59Speaker 2: The very nice. It is great news to actually hear
- 5:04Speaker 2: that internationally, especially in Italy, that the community is growing,
- 5:08Speaker 2: because that's something that we often hear in America don't
- 5:11Speaker 2: necessarily hear about. And the game has been around for
- 5:13Speaker 2: a number of years, so that is amazing news to hear.
- 5:16Speaker 2: It's thriving, it's doing well, and you're growing it. So
- 5:19Speaker 2: great job over there. Without further ado, boys, I'm going
- 5:22Speaker 2: to jump right in so I know it's a little
- 5:24Speaker 2: bit later, but on the third, fourth and fifth of July,
- 5:28Speaker 2: you guys got a chance to go ahead and go
- 5:29Speaker 2: to a Vault tour. So let's chat a little bit
- 5:32Speaker 2: about it. What was your approach? Did you come in early?
- 5:38Speaker 2: Where'd you stay? Talk to me a little bit about it.
- 5:41Speaker 4: We came in early and late. I guess we came
- 5:44Speaker 4: in a day early, but very late. So I drove
- 5:47Speaker 4: with armed and we picked up Stephen Mann, another Dutch
- 5:51Speaker 4: player along the way. So I think we left around
- 5:55Speaker 4: four four in the afternoon and we arrived just before twelve.
- 5:59Speaker 4: I think, nice detail through Paris, some sightseeing in some
- 6:05Speaker 4: great neighborhoods because the highway was closed, so that was
- 6:08Speaker 4: that was good fun. But yeah, so a they early,
- 6:12Speaker 4: just get some sleep in so we didn't have to
- 6:14Speaker 4: rush to make it to the twelve o'clock noon kickoff
- 6:18Speaker 4: for Alliance, So I think, yeah, that was a There
- 6:23Speaker 4: was an entry to the Vault Fold Tour we picked
- 6:27Speaker 4: the hotel that was recommended they had to deal with.
- 6:31Speaker 4: It was decent that air conditioning in the bed.
- 6:35Speaker 2: So yeah, is it traditional that there wouldn't be air
- 6:40Speaker 2: conditioning when I'm traveling abroad?
- 6:45Speaker 4: It's not that common, I guess for normal households in
- 6:50Speaker 4: an Elands. Is becoming a bit more common. So last
- 6:53Speaker 4: year we had an accommodation without air conditioning, this this
- 6:57Speaker 4: year we had one with So I don't know, harm't
- 7:01Speaker 4: you you go to more hotels? Is it not common
- 7:04Speaker 4: to f AC?
- 7:05Speaker 5: I don't know why not trouble for business, it's definitely
- 7:07Speaker 5: common to AC. But when I trafle personally, no, probably.
- 7:11Speaker 2: Not interesting, okay. And I was actually fascinated with the
- 7:16Speaker 2: drive time before the cast. I was talking with my
- 7:19Speaker 2: eleven year old as you were coming back from soccer camp,
- 7:22Speaker 2: and she was trying to be able to position how
- 7:24Speaker 2: far it was from your drive time, and I was
- 7:27Speaker 2: trying to explain because we just got back from a
- 7:29Speaker 2: trip where we drove to Florida and that was twenty
- 7:33Speaker 2: one hours and.
- 7:34Speaker 4: So yeah, so she.
- 7:37Speaker 2: I mean, she just sees it as different countries and
- 7:39Speaker 2: she's like.
- 7:39Speaker 4: Well, it must be way more than that.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Yeah. So right now. Please know that all of my
- 7:45Speaker 2: kids want to come over and we're just going to
- 7:47Speaker 2: tour Europe. I said, I wish I could do this,
- 7:50Speaker 2: but that is not in the plans right now.
- 7:52Speaker 4: So it was a five and a half hour drive.
- 7:55Speaker 4: And I think in the Netherlands, if we're like we
- 7:58Speaker 4: have to drive somewhere for an hour, where like, oh man,
- 8:01Speaker 4: it's a one hour drive. We tell this to people
- 8:06Speaker 4: from America like what is around the corner? What are
- 8:09Speaker 4: you complaining about? So, yeah, it was a five and
- 8:11Speaker 4: a half hour drive, which is not that far, but
- 8:15Speaker 4: it's a solid drive, but not twenty one hours now.
- 8:18Speaker 2: And it was just the three of you guys that
- 8:21Speaker 2: went down from your team.
- 8:25Speaker 5: Total, but we decided to go with two different cars.
- 8:28Speaker 5: The rest of the team already left in the morning
- 8:30Speaker 5: because they were able to take the whole day off,
- 8:32Speaker 5: and we just kind of sneaked out of work early.
- 8:35Speaker 2: So you represent what I have to do. I have
- 8:38Speaker 2: to work through the full day and everyone else is
- 8:40Speaker 2: just hitting their watch as they're waiting for me, like
- 8:43Speaker 2: why are you not done? I could leave in the morning,
- 8:46Speaker 2: so I know that pain. I know that pain. Well,
- 8:50Speaker 2: SUZUITI how long of a trip, is it from you?
- 8:52Speaker 2: And how did you get into the Vault Tour.
- 8:55Speaker 3: I actually had to start my trip two days prior
- 8:59Speaker 3: because I'm in the far north east of Italy, so
- 9:06Speaker 3: I had to move to west and then from there
- 9:09Speaker 3: get to Paris. So I had done eight hours drive
- 9:14Speaker 3: to Touring where Philo was, which I then remained in
- 9:19Speaker 3: easy House for like a day, and then we had
- 9:23Speaker 3: to take the train to Paris, which was another I
- 9:29Speaker 3: think eight hours something like that, because last year I
- 9:32Speaker 3: tried to go with the airplane, but we have quite
- 9:37Speaker 3: a bit of strikes and they didn't want to risk
- 9:41Speaker 3: it again, so we took the train. So we arrived
- 9:46Speaker 3: at like one am in Paris and then we had
- 9:50Speaker 3: to take an uber, so it was another an hour
- 9:54Speaker 3: and something, but because the road was closed, as Juda mentioned,
- 10:00Speaker 3: we had to move like one hour and a half.
- 10:04Speaker 3: So I'd say the twenty one hours that you mentioned
- 10:08Speaker 3: before was my total trip to get there.
- 10:10Speaker 2: But yeah, that sounds like a brutal trip. I mean,
- 10:15Speaker 2: maybe the benefit is you could practice on the actual
- 10:19Speaker 2: train for the second part, but that does not sound
- 10:22Speaker 2: as enjoyable as I was imagining.
- 10:24Speaker 3: No, it's not the best, but I'm not really that
- 10:27Speaker 3: lucky in my region because the nearest thing I have
- 10:31Speaker 3: is like Slovenia, and even to get to Florence, where
- 10:36Speaker 3: the Italian Vall tour is, I'd have to take a
- 10:40Speaker 3: trip of like four hours, five hours something like that
- 10:43Speaker 3: with the car. So I'm not really that well adjusted
- 10:48Speaker 3: to the rest of the work.
- 10:50Speaker 2: So you say four to five hours, that's our trip
- 10:53Speaker 2: from Wisconsin over to the game center in Minneapolis. So
- 10:57Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, that's an easy one. I'll do that.
- 10:59Speaker 2: But yeah, if you're not used to the drive, I
- 11:01Speaker 2: get it. I get it. Okay, So you guys show
- 11:06Speaker 2: up and you have a little bit different experience getting there.
- 11:11Speaker 2: But Vaults Hotel was manageable, easy enough. How is the
- 11:14Speaker 2: venue itself?
- 11:15Speaker 5: Was it?
- 11:16Speaker 2: Talk to me a little bit about it.
- 11:20Speaker 3: It was amazing.
- 11:22Speaker 4: No, no, you go ahead.
- 11:24Speaker 3: I really liked the whole thing, honestly, even speaking to
- 11:29Speaker 3: people during the morning. Even though the the breakfast was
- 11:35Speaker 3: all right, the experience with other players there was amazing.
- 11:40Speaker 3: Plus I'd say that the pizza was nice.
- 11:44Speaker 4: From an Italian, that's something.
- 11:46Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm given that, Like I'm not a eater, to
- 11:51Speaker 3: be honest, But.
- 11:53Speaker 4: The venue of The Vault itself was a youth center
- 11:56Speaker 4: image am I however they say it in in French.
- 12:00Speaker 4: But we've been there last year as well, and this
- 12:03Speaker 4: year it's a return and the staff is super nice
- 12:07Speaker 4: and I think even like since it's a youth center,
- 12:10Speaker 4: they did some promotion. I think also some members of
- 12:14Speaker 4: the center joined the keyboards as well, so so some
- 12:19Speaker 4: of them was the first time the owner even competed
- 12:23Speaker 4: in the in the In the Vault tour as well.
- 12:26Speaker 4: So the venue was amazing. It had some outdoors. It
- 12:30Speaker 4: had mini football or football. I don't know, you say football,
- 12:36Speaker 4: you walk.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Yeah, football, Yeah, it's a little ball that you're playing
- 12:40Speaker 2: kind of with some paddles, living yeah, yeah.
- 12:42Speaker 4: Yeah, some basketball, some nice couches, sunny. It was great. Yeah,
- 12:47Speaker 4: a bit hot, but yeah yeah.
- 12:49Speaker 5: And even a completely separate stream room. And it's always
- 12:52Speaker 5: already a blessing to play on stream, but this one
- 12:55Speaker 5: was air conditioned, so it was better to play on stream.
- 12:59Speaker 5: You would just want to stay in the room because
- 13:03Speaker 5: I think it was like thirty two degrees outside right.
- 13:06Speaker 4: Which is like ninety something fairnheed, I don't even know.
- 13:09Speaker 4: It was hot.
- 13:10Speaker 2: It was very hot, so I think one of the
- 13:15Speaker 2: main differences between the International vaults and the US vaults
- 13:21Speaker 2: is that you guys get a chance to be able
- 13:22Speaker 2: to play all three events versus our kind of Alliance.
- 13:25Speaker 2: For us, we have to make a choice, which is
- 13:28Speaker 2: why oftentimes you're not seeing the numbers on Alliance.
- 13:31Speaker 4: True.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Is that true? So if I look back, I believe
- 13:35Speaker 2: that you guys had Alliance first, or was it Sealed first?
- 13:39Speaker 4: It was Alliance first. I think we had thirty six
- 13:42Speaker 4: people there because it was on a Friday, so you'd
- 13:45Speaker 4: have to take a day off of work or maybe two.
- 13:49Speaker 4: So thirty six Alliance, which definitely beats by a factor
- 13:53Speaker 4: of four even sometimes in numbers in the US vaults,
- 13:56Speaker 4: because you get to do both of the events, right,
- 13:59Speaker 4: So that's that's that's really great. The side effect is
- 14:02Speaker 4: that the field is very stacked, to be honest, because
- 14:06Speaker 4: people are going to play Alliance and are cons They're
- 14:09Speaker 4: investing into Alliance just as much as you would argue,
- 14:13Speaker 4: and because both give you an opportunity to qualify for Worlds.
- 14:20Speaker 2: So talk to me, how did you guys end up
- 14:22Speaker 2: doing so harmed? How did you end up doing for Alliance?
- 14:26Speaker 5: So for me, it was a special event because I
- 14:29Speaker 5: was the defending champion of Alliance and going into the event,
- 14:32Speaker 5: I wasn't actually sure what build I wanted to bring.
- 14:36Speaker 5: Always a good thing, always a good thing. I knew
- 14:39Speaker 5: PV was dominating, and last year PV was just released,
- 14:42Speaker 5: so people were still really playing around with it, figuring
- 14:45Speaker 5: out what works. And then if you had like a stable,
- 14:48Speaker 5: older set build that usually would do really well, even
- 14:51Speaker 5: though people back then bought displays. On the day itself
- 14:54Speaker 5: of PV built an Alliance and did really well, and
- 14:57Speaker 5: I felt like, being a defending champion, I'm just going
- 15:00Speaker 5: to bring my own own old builds that I've put
- 15:03Speaker 5: a lot of time in. I brought it to Worlds.
- 15:05Speaker 5: I'm just going to play that, which is a Bryo
- 15:08Speaker 5: cup cup built with triple retrotechnician Lee a lot of
- 15:11Speaker 5: efficiency into the Star Alliance as well, and then a well,
- 15:16Speaker 5: the most disgusting guy story that you've ever seen, with
- 15:19Speaker 5: both Well of Memory and Island of Misfit Toys Double
- 15:23Speaker 5: Boo in Here Somewhere br guys wins of that pretty
- 15:26Speaker 5: much everything that you want to see, and then even
- 15:29Speaker 5: purging on top of that with like Mender and singing
- 15:32Speaker 5: Sithe to get rid of any kind of combo dex
- 15:35Speaker 5: and I felt kind of good going into it. I
- 15:38Speaker 5: hadn't really played my Alliance built for a couple of
- 15:41Speaker 5: months or so, and to be honest, I don't remember
- 15:45Speaker 5: much from my wins, but I do remember both of
- 15:48Speaker 5: my losses, and I ended up going four into throughout
- 15:51Speaker 5: the day. My first loss was against JOCKI, one of
- 15:54Speaker 5: the German players, and that was like one of those
- 15:58Speaker 5: typical Keyford games where just every thing went wrong, like
- 16:01Speaker 5: the draws didn't line up, you do a mulligan. I
- 16:04Speaker 5: drew back into my best turn one play, which was
- 16:07Speaker 5: playing a Wins of Death with a discard pip and
- 16:09Speaker 5: discarding singing Sife. That was the best I could do
- 16:11Speaker 5: with my turn one. I don't think I did anything
- 16:14Speaker 5: for the first three or four turns of that game,
- 16:16Speaker 5: not because I was disrupted, just because I didn't really
- 16:19Speaker 5: draw into anything. And then at some point I had
- 16:22Speaker 5: a decision to play boo on myself and Boo on
- 16:24Speaker 5: my opponents. I picked myself first, and I played the
- 16:27Speaker 5: second one of my opponents, and I literally discarded the
- 16:30Speaker 5: ten worst cards in his entire deck. So that was
- 16:33Speaker 5: kind of the kind of game. It went still a
- 16:36Speaker 5: close game. Yoki went up to me afterwards and told
- 16:39Speaker 5: me that he actually practiced the matchup online and it
- 16:41Speaker 5: was like losing to him ninety percent of the time.
- 16:44Speaker 5: So you know, it's one of those games.
- 16:47Speaker 2: That always makes you feel much better when people come
- 16:49Speaker 2: after like, yeah, ninety percent of the time. I have
- 16:53Speaker 2: a local who's like, I had not run our deck
- 16:56Speaker 2: against his at all, and he's like, yeah, I read
- 16:58Speaker 2: it against all of your decks, and this this one
- 17:00Speaker 2: wins at this percentage, so I anticipate that I'll win this.
- 17:03Speaker 2: I'm like, okay, that's my story championship. Thanks, I got it.
- 17:06Speaker 5: And then you proceed to beat his as anyway.
- 17:09Speaker 2: Ah, No, it was close, but no, I still lost
- 17:13Speaker 2: in that matchup. And I will say shout out to
- 17:15Speaker 2: Noke because Snoki did qualify for Alliance as the pass
- 17:18Speaker 2: down of her top four spots, so awesome, awesome job.
- 17:21Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean he did really well, and out of
- 17:25Speaker 5: all the PV builds that I played, I think one
- 17:28Speaker 5: hit his one was one of the best. And I
- 17:30Speaker 5: did play against six other PV decks that day, which
- 17:34Speaker 5: is incredible. Like if you look at the Alliance field,
- 17:36Speaker 5: it was pretty much only PV, and I was quite
- 17:39Speaker 5: proud that we, as the six Dutchies, actually didn't bring
- 17:41Speaker 5: any PV. We had like a mix of amber Sky's
- 17:45Speaker 5: g R Crucible Clash even and I'll talk more about
- 17:49Speaker 5: that built later because that one is quite interesting. Yeah,
- 17:53Speaker 5: and then one of my final games I played against
- 17:55Speaker 5: Lorenzo on stream and he just completely wrecked me and
- 17:58Speaker 5: furnaced all my key pieces away. So four and two
- 18:01Speaker 5: lost two times against two top eight players. So I
- 18:04Speaker 5: had still had a little bit of hope with thirty
- 18:06Speaker 5: six players that I might get in with the four
- 18:07Speaker 5: to two, but I got I think ninth place based
- 18:11Speaker 5: on strength schedule, so I couldn't defend my title unfortunately.
- 18:15Speaker 2: Well, Judo, how did you end up doing an alliance?
- 18:19Speaker 4: Well? Good, but not that good, I guess. So I
- 18:24Speaker 4: have a nemesis at the French fol Tour, and it's
- 18:28Speaker 4: a teammate of ours. It's Matility five. I don't know.
- 18:32Speaker 4: For some reason, the French vaulter is his vaulture and
- 18:36Speaker 4: I get paired up at the most unfortunate moments against him,
- 18:39Speaker 4: and then yeah, I already know what time it is.
- 18:42Speaker 4: So I started pretty well. I brought Drakes by the way,
- 18:46Speaker 4: because I opened Abrupnar pod with two ember Drakes inside
- 18:50Speaker 4: the pot itself, which is pretty crazy, so I felt
- 18:55Speaker 4: I had to lean into that, so went well. I think.
- 18:58Speaker 4: I started against a World's colde build, which I also
- 19:02Speaker 4: considered because I thought maybe it would do well, but
- 19:06Speaker 4: got the better of that one then two more PV
- 19:09Speaker 4: so I'm three to zero. I'm like, okay, all right,
- 19:11Speaker 4: here we go. And then I faced my nemesis Multility
- 19:16Speaker 4: five with his Crucible Clash build, which harmed will probably
- 19:20Speaker 4: talk about a bit more, but is super fast, disgusting.
- 19:26Speaker 4: But I had my winning combo in my hand for
- 19:28Speaker 4: two turns, but only to be controlled the week twice
- 19:31Speaker 4: in a row and then not being able to stop it.
- 19:34Speaker 4: It feels pretty bad. So my nemesis struck again. And
- 19:37Speaker 4: then I also faced Lorenzo I think, and he he
- 19:41Speaker 4: would by ass And that's four two also down on
- 19:45Speaker 4: strength of schedule, so four two not too bad, I guess.
- 19:50Speaker 2: But yeah, I'll pay your donation to the swear ter
- 19:55Speaker 2: I got.
- 19:55Speaker 4: You, did I swear?
- 19:57Speaker 5: I didn't even didn't even realize with this cat tonight
- 20:03Speaker 5: big donation.
- 20:04Speaker 4: Yeah, but Untilly five made it to the top eight
- 20:08Speaker 4: and even further than that with his crucial Clash, So
- 20:12Speaker 4: I was really bummed the last that game, but he
- 20:14Speaker 4: did he did really well again at the French Walter.
- 20:17Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, Sizouri. How did the Alliance show up
- 20:23Speaker 2: for real?
- 20:24Speaker 3: Honestly better than I expected because I was going into
- 20:28Speaker 3: it without any expectation. So I went with Tokens of
- 20:35Speaker 3: Change deck an Alpha Gamma, which was not really reliable
- 20:39Speaker 3: on the talk in itself. It was more of a
- 20:42Speaker 3: value play kind of deck. So I had the three
- 20:46Speaker 3: pole war More double red line three pole against woll
- 20:50Speaker 3: Legs and the quadra routine job, so it was basically
- 20:56Speaker 3: just spamming and and stealing as much as it would.
- 21:00Speaker 3: I went with twenty to Amber Tootal I think, and
- 21:06Speaker 3: I went for to losing to PV basically, which was
- 21:13Speaker 3: one from J Philippeg which crushed me with the cover fires.
- 21:20Speaker 3: He was able to replay them like three times and
- 21:24Speaker 3: I couldn't really do much because I was trying to
- 21:28Speaker 3: get ahead of him and did it basically with the prophecies.
- 21:32Speaker 3: He tried to get away from Steel and did amazingly
- 21:36Speaker 3: so and then I lost to Lorenzo as well, which
- 21:43Speaker 3: basically purged all my value, so at some point I
- 21:47Speaker 3: had no more routine job to steal more against All
- 21:51Speaker 3: flags were gone. Pretty much all my amber was eaten
- 21:55Speaker 3: by the infurnaces. So it was rough.
- 21:59Speaker 2: Yeah, and I'll say, shout out to our counter Canada,
- 22:03Speaker 2: because I can kind of follow along with our top eight.
- 22:05Speaker 2: This this is interesting. Lorenzo got the better of this
- 22:08Speaker 2: group here, and since I'm going through it, shout out
- 22:13Speaker 2: to our winners and qualifiers. So Fat going ahead and
- 22:16Speaker 2: taking PV with a win. Runner up was Ellie mack
- 22:21Speaker 2: on g R with some brow brow brio. And then
- 22:23Speaker 2: we said earlier Nocchi the p V. I love the
- 22:28Speaker 2: name here, Schnitzel almost f Yeah, it's basically fries with
- 22:34Speaker 2: fries with ketchup, So I love it. And then go ahead.
- 22:39Speaker 4: That was it own a ketchup or mit ketchup's let's
- 22:44Speaker 4: oh field ketchup.
- 22:45Speaker 2: A lot of ketchup, but a lot of ketchup.
- 22:48Speaker 4: Their funny thing is that the finalists, there's more more
- 22:52Speaker 4: than one funny thing, so it was like a feud
- 22:58Speaker 4: within the house. Let's say, so there is Fed and
- 23:01Speaker 4: Elly mec are like a pair, but there were also
- 23:05Speaker 4: the two that made it in on strength of schedule
- 23:07Speaker 4: with four twos in seventh and eighth place and then
- 23:12Speaker 4: somehow making it to the finals. So that is very interesting.
- 23:18Speaker 2: See that's interesting in that we've seen it happen essentially
- 23:21Speaker 2: the four to two. It's it happened at Saint Louis,
- 23:25Speaker 2: happened here in Paris, and then I believe it happened
- 23:29Speaker 2: also in Baltimore. So you're seeing a couple of these
- 23:36Speaker 2: set like essentially the two L O system, they would
- 23:39Speaker 2: have been ruled out because but here they're coming in
- 23:43Speaker 2: the seventh and a slot and they end up actually
- 23:45Speaker 2: playing in the finals. That is fascinating.
- 23:48Speaker 4: I feel like that could happen more in the lines
- 23:49Speaker 4: than an ARCon though, or or in sealed, because it's
- 23:54Speaker 4: much more matchup dependent in the Alliance. It's just a theory.
- 23:59Speaker 2: Now I know I'm gonna go out on a limb here,
- 24:03Speaker 2: I'm actually gonna say that. I think even in ARCon
- 24:06Speaker 2: it is very heavily dependent on the matchups. If you
- 24:10Speaker 2: have a clean run, it can really just who did
- 24:12Speaker 2: you face. Because x Ray from Boltmore who qualified in second,
- 24:18Speaker 2: he was one of our seventh or a slots. So
- 24:23Speaker 2: I've just seen that, whether it was at KFC for Worlds.
- 24:27Speaker 2: You know, I ended up facing a small pool at four,
- 24:31Speaker 2: so I went four and oh and then I faced
- 24:33Speaker 2: someone again in essentially one of the top eight planes,
- 24:36Speaker 2: or there have been opportunities where I don't know just
- 24:41Speaker 2: who I face in the deck construction. There are other
- 24:44Speaker 2: decks I look across and go man, I would have
- 24:46Speaker 2: been absolutely destroyed if I had faced this build. So
- 24:49Speaker 2: that's interesting both for Alliance and Arkon. I mean for
- 24:51Speaker 2: me at least, but you're saying more for Alliance that
- 24:54Speaker 2: you're seeing it as potentially dependent on the build.
- 25:00Speaker 3: Talked about it in the little Italian group that we
- 25:03Speaker 3: had there, and honestly, I think it's mostly based on
- 25:08Speaker 3: field approach. Like the Vuci that you told before Judo,
- 25:14Speaker 3: it was played by one of the other Italians and
- 25:18Speaker 3: it had a terrible field day because it went one
- 25:22Speaker 3: three drop if I remember right, And our approach to
- 25:27Speaker 3: the whole thing was like, okay, you choose that deck.
- 25:32Speaker 3: It didn't work, so you were really far from what
- 25:38Speaker 3: the field is playing. So instead of like the general
- 25:43Speaker 3: mashups or whatever you can find that you will have
- 25:48Speaker 3: positive we were also graduating like Okay, I did the
- 25:52Speaker 3: four twoe or I did three free, or I made top,
- 25:55Speaker 3: et cetera. And aside from that, I think there's also
- 26:00Speaker 3: quite a bit of luck included. So from my perspective
- 26:05Speaker 3: in particular, if you're doing the top quite a bit
- 26:10Speaker 3: of quite consistently, I think you're still playing a deck
- 26:14Speaker 3: that could be the winner of that tournament. And we
- 26:18Speaker 3: had quite a bit of a discussion about it.
- 26:21Speaker 4: So yeah, yeah, I think you're right there. And I
- 26:26Speaker 4: wasn't disappointed because I played to the best of my ability.
- 26:31Speaker 4: I didn't make any major mistakes that cost me the game.
- 26:35Speaker 4: So then that's just what it is on that day.
- 26:37Speaker 4: You know, if you had a little bit better matchups
- 26:40Speaker 4: or different routes to the top, ay, you would have
- 26:43Speaker 4: made it. When I do make mistakes, though, then then
- 26:47Speaker 4: I will be a bit upset. But yeah, I think sometimes,
- 26:53Speaker 4: especially in the lines, it feels like picking the right
- 26:56Speaker 4: deck for the meta on that day and a little
- 26:58Speaker 4: bit of a coin flip some times in the matchups.
- 27:04Speaker 2: And I feel right now, with PV being so dominant,
- 27:07Speaker 2: that there is some random what was discarded from yours
- 27:11Speaker 2: at what time? I mean, harmed, you were talking about
- 27:15Speaker 2: actually going ahead in cycling and kind of just getting
- 27:17Speaker 2: rid of essentially a dead hand for your opponent. That's
- 27:20Speaker 2: a really big win where you're like, okay, I gotta
- 27:22Speaker 2: actually take a dead turn to play it, and now
- 27:24Speaker 2: here you basically can punk or wins of death and
- 27:28Speaker 2: just move them out of that hand. So I don't know,
- 27:32Speaker 2: I feel that there's a bit more randomness with PV,
- 27:36Speaker 2: and it can just have this well, did my cards
- 27:40Speaker 2: hit your good card or did it miss and hit
- 27:43Speaker 2: something that was meaningless? So that's interesting.
- 27:46Speaker 5: I think that's true for BV, and that effect is
- 27:49Speaker 5: even extrapolated an alliance, where things just need to come
- 27:52Speaker 5: together in the first two or three turns of the game,
- 27:55Speaker 5: especially if you're very lockout oriented or combo oriented. You
- 27:59Speaker 5: just need to have the stability of the deck and
- 28:02Speaker 5: the efficiency to make things happen, and if it doesn't,
- 28:05Speaker 5: then you're heard for a rough game. Let's just call
- 28:08Speaker 5: it like that.
- 28:10Speaker 2: Well, I have to say, as I'm heading over to
- 28:12Speaker 2: Vietnam in a couple of weeks, I'm excited to be
- 28:14Speaker 2: able to play in all three events. So it did
- 28:16Speaker 2: have me actually thinking about alliance and I have built
- 28:19Speaker 2: a deck and actually gotten a couple of plays in it.
- 28:22Speaker 5: So PV.
- 28:24Speaker 2: I am playing a deck in Alliance that that's a
- 28:27Speaker 2: big thing.
- 28:29Speaker 4: I mean, the problem or the problem is that I think,
- 28:33Speaker 4: so there's these decks that are beautifully crafted. You search
- 28:36Speaker 4: for the right parts, and I think Donkey Forge, one
- 28:38Speaker 4: of our other teammates from Allan's, is a master in
- 28:41Speaker 4: creating unique Alliance decks that do something as you would
- 28:44Speaker 4: have seen in the past with like June and Cap
- 28:46Speaker 4: Marrow and or other like I think Camera did, those
- 28:51Speaker 4: renowned American Alliance players that really find something cool and unique,
- 28:56Speaker 4: you know. But then now you have PV, you smack
- 28:59Speaker 4: together a couple rage resets, a hoodwink at tranks, maybe
- 29:04Speaker 4: some discs with dramatic echoes, and then yeah that works
- 29:08Speaker 4: as well, you know. So a bit sad. They need
- 29:13Speaker 4: to be more restricted, I think on BV.
- 29:18Speaker 2: I do think that the list will be updated after
- 29:21Speaker 2: the season and you'll see a couple more cards added
- 29:24Speaker 2: to restrict I will say it was frustrating to have
- 29:30Speaker 2: to play around cards that come in at a common
- 29:32Speaker 2: slot that I don't really care about in my deck,
- 29:35Speaker 2: but by having one of them, it made the deck
- 29:38Speaker 2: or that pot and I'll avoid. So that was something
- 29:41Speaker 2: to be able to be interesting. But I think if
- 29:44Speaker 2: we add too many cards it can be a little
- 29:47Speaker 2: bit problematic for the Lions players too. So we'll have
- 29:50Speaker 2: to see. But yeah, yes, i'll share offline because it
- 29:53Speaker 2: is not out yet. But I am enjoying the builds.
- 29:56Speaker 2: I want to actually be able to play it, so
- 29:58Speaker 2: we'll see and have some fun.
- 30:00Speaker 4: All right, we'll have some practice games, but Ben PV
- 30:03Speaker 4: from Alliance that would do some good.
- 30:05Speaker 2: There you go. Speaking of the top eight, so we
- 30:08Speaker 2: had one, two, three, four, five, five. Five of the
- 30:15Speaker 2: top eight were PV and then we had gr CC
- 30:19Speaker 2: and MM, so I'll kind of go on the backside.
- 30:22Speaker 2: Seven and eight. Well, the top eights were Lobot on MM,
- 30:27Speaker 2: Elvid and PV, Bielio on PV, and Lorenzo and nine
- 30:31Speaker 2: and PV and kind of you talked a little bit
- 30:32Speaker 2: about two of those members from the Italian squads Zuiti,
- 30:38Speaker 2: and I know you guys want to talk about CC.
- 30:40Speaker 2: We actually saw CC show up and make a top eight. Boys,
- 30:46Speaker 2: it happened.
- 30:47Speaker 5: It happened top four even, which is incredibly impressive. Yep,
- 30:51Speaker 5: it is really impressive. I played it with my build
- 30:54Speaker 5: against his CC as well, and it was a super
- 30:57Speaker 5: close game, but that wasn't a leading up to the event.
- 31:02Speaker 5: And yeah, shout out to Mutility five because he built
- 31:04Speaker 5: something incredible. The deck completely revolves around infernal terrain and
- 31:11Speaker 5: his disc is absolutely perfect for that. So he has
- 31:14Speaker 5: double infernal terrain in the deck and then arise just
- 31:17Speaker 5: to get them back and triple control the week, so
- 31:19Speaker 5: he can lock you into any house. And the whole
- 31:21Speaker 5: idea is you lock them, you discard the terrain, and
- 31:24Speaker 5: you use all the pips in the rest of the
- 31:26Speaker 5: houses to steal as much as possible and they cannot
- 31:28Speaker 5: do anything about that. And to kind of supplement that builds,
- 31:33Speaker 5: he has a yeah, a skyborne that goes like the wind.
- 31:37Speaker 5: It goes really quick with double silver lining, which just
- 31:39Speaker 5: generates tons of amber triple against all flags, just to
- 31:43Speaker 5: put some more additional steel in there, and a ton
- 31:46Speaker 5: of pips, discard pips, draw pips, extra amber pips. This
- 31:49Speaker 5: is a it's a really good pot and even an
- 31:51Speaker 5: untained pip because the third house is untamed and this
- 31:55Speaker 5: is where most of the sea is in there, so
- 31:58Speaker 5: double nature call double unatural selection does come also with
- 32:02Speaker 5: the extra pips. It's extra sy. You can also just
- 32:04Speaker 5: scrapt them with the terran and steal more and a
- 32:06Speaker 5: cauldron for really wacky stuff which of the world for
- 32:10Speaker 5: extra efficiency, and it just works incredibly well together because
- 32:14Speaker 5: even if you're locked out, you just scrap the terror,
- 32:17Speaker 5: you steal five and you're still locked out, but you're
- 32:19Speaker 5: going to forge that third key anyway, so who cares.
- 32:23Speaker 5: It's a it's a beauty.
- 32:24Speaker 2: It is a beautiful build. I like it.
- 32:27Speaker 4: Yeah, it's it's it's it's lovely when you get Controlled
- 32:30Speaker 4: the Week two times in a row with the winning
- 32:31Speaker 4: combo on your hand. Love that.
- 32:33Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I will say back in the day, I
- 32:36Speaker 2: think this was the Dallas Vaults a couple of years ago,
- 32:40Speaker 2: at least two I was playing essentially a triple Control
- 32:43Speaker 2: of the Week with the artifact to cycle it. Screaming
- 32:49Speaker 2: came and so yes, when you can just keep cycling it,
- 32:53Speaker 2: it becomes pretty vicious. So it's a good card.
- 33:00Speaker 3: We had it even rougher in Italy because we had
- 33:03Speaker 3: both Christian and Player bringing the Screaming Cave with the
- 33:12Speaker 3: quadra copy of a Control of the Week, and he
- 33:16Speaker 3: had multiple backs like that, so you could also do
- 33:20Speaker 3: try it with that combo, and I think he won
- 33:24Speaker 3: the first national in twenty nineteen using basically just the
- 33:30Speaker 3: screaming caves, which was really nasty.
- 33:36Speaker 2: So after day one, I believe you guys played just
- 33:40Speaker 2: straight through on that first day, so you had thirty
- 33:42Speaker 2: six players, but you played six rounds and then you
- 33:45Speaker 2: did top eight, top four right away on that Friday.
- 33:49Speaker 4: Yeah, I believe. So this was for every event the
- 33:51Speaker 4: case now.
- 33:52Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, yeah, So yeah, you get to claim your
- 33:55Speaker 2: winner right away and it's nice pass down. So congrats
- 33:58Speaker 2: to everyone who qualified and Movedan, did you guys do
- 34:01Speaker 2: anything fun after going ahead and surviving that first day
- 34:04Speaker 2: of Alliance?
- 34:05Speaker 5: Maybe? One small note because at the end of the
- 34:08Speaker 5: event there was also a Fantasy League, which was a
- 34:11Speaker 5: lot of fun. You could pre select who you thought
- 34:14Speaker 5: would do well in that event. I think you could
- 34:17Speaker 5: put like four players in there and a captain and
- 34:19Speaker 5: a captain would give you double points. The points you
- 34:21Speaker 5: get per player was based on both the wins but
- 34:24Speaker 5: also the amount of times they got picked, and at
- 34:26Speaker 5: the end of every event, they would announce a Fantasy
- 34:29Speaker 5: League winner, and I think they gave them a Geo
- 34:34Speaker 5: Tech deck if I'm not mistaken.
- 34:36Speaker 4: I think so, yeah, I m twenty six geoteched. Maybe
- 34:40Speaker 4: that the treasure deck indeed, yeah, and paired with the
- 34:45Speaker 4: fancy league, so you would have the number one pick player, two, three,
- 34:48Speaker 4: and four they would all get a bounty. So let's
- 34:51Speaker 4: say there was a ticketing system, so every time you
- 34:55Speaker 4: won a game, you got one ticket, and then there's
- 34:57Speaker 4: the prize wall where you can substitute it tickets pretty
- 35:00Speaker 4: much for half a dollar let's say, or let's say
- 35:03Speaker 4: a dollar because he was the dollar. So then if
- 35:08Speaker 4: you were the number fourth most picked player, you would
- 35:12Speaker 4: get the bounty for two tickets, and the number three
- 35:15Speaker 4: as well, and there'd be the mega bounty for the
- 35:17Speaker 4: most pig player that would be worth for tickets. And
- 35:21Speaker 4: because it was six round Swiss, it was only valid
- 35:23Speaker 4: til round five. Because they undefeated until the full six rounds,
- 35:28Speaker 4: that's quite tough. So there was another incentive to beat
- 35:32Speaker 4: the players with the bounty on their heads. So that
- 35:37Speaker 4: was that was pretty cool. And even if you were out,
- 35:40Speaker 4: you could still root for the people in your fancy league.
- 35:43Speaker 4: So there were people saying, hey, what's your score. I'll
- 35:47Speaker 4: be like three zero, great, great way keep going on
- 35:50Speaker 4: they other way around like I lost, Like what are
- 35:52Speaker 4: you doing? I'm sorry, you're my captain. H So that
- 35:57Speaker 4: that added a nice little flavor to it. And they
- 36:01Speaker 4: put in so much work, especially Ushitaka. Big shout out
- 36:05Speaker 4: to Aushi. He set up a lot of things revolving
- 36:08Speaker 4: the Fancy League and organizing and judging. It was amazing,
- 36:13Speaker 4: you know.
- 36:15Speaker 2: And I'll say second shout out to Ashtaka. I know
- 36:17Speaker 2: that he even opened up the league to a number
- 36:20Speaker 2: of Americans are like, hey, I want to participate too,
- 36:22Speaker 2: even though we're not in the vault, So he went
- 36:24Speaker 2: out of his way to include others. Again, he's just
- 36:26Speaker 2: such a friendly, easy going guy. I love him. So
- 36:29Speaker 2: shout out well run vault. There on the actual tickets,
- 36:34Speaker 2: so the bounty if I want to ahad him pick
- 36:36Speaker 2: to you judo and then you want does that mean
- 36:39Speaker 2: that you're going to get the tickets or I'm going
- 36:41Speaker 2: to get the tickets?
- 36:42Speaker 4: So if if I win, like my match, there's just
- 36:46Speaker 4: there's twenty tables or whatever, and there's a ticket in
- 36:49Speaker 4: each table and the winner just takes a ticket. So
- 36:53Speaker 4: if you picked me in the Fancy League and I
- 36:56Speaker 4: kept them winning and the other three people you picked
- 36:58Speaker 4: as well, that well, you could win that geoteched.
- 37:01Speaker 2: So it was just for the geotech y yeah yeah, yeah.
- 37:03Speaker 4: But if I had the bounty and you were playing
- 37:05Speaker 4: me and you beat me, you get the ticket for
- 37:08Speaker 4: winning that game and also the bounty tickets. Yeah exactly.
- 37:13Speaker 2: Okay, that's where the bounties. I like it. It's another
- 37:15Speaker 2: little side game. It's a way to engage even if
- 37:18Speaker 2: you potentially are not necessarily in the running for that
- 37:21Speaker 2: top eight. So yeah, for sure, something I could see,
- 37:26Speaker 2: like those little nuances to the game really provide something
- 37:31Speaker 2: special at a vault, So I'd love to see that
- 37:33Speaker 2: make its way over here. That'd be pretty amazing.
- 37:35Speaker 4: And they gave the little pins. I think there was
- 37:37Speaker 4: this little yodap in or some Star Wars figure pins
- 37:40Speaker 4: that people could wear and put on the table, kind
- 37:43Speaker 4: of like intimidating, look I've cut this bounty.
- 37:47Speaker 2: Yeah, very nice. Odd After words, did you guys go
- 37:50Speaker 2: get some food for dinner? And did you just go
- 37:52Speaker 2: home and crash because a long day.
- 37:56Speaker 5: I think we went back to the hotel because it
- 37:58Speaker 5: was a long day. Your lines day ended at like
- 38:01Speaker 5: nine or ten in the evening and we didn't read
- 38:03Speaker 5: have dinner yet, so we went to the hotel, ordered
- 38:05Speaker 5: some pizzas. Ye chilled with everyone else because almost everyone
- 38:09Speaker 5: was actually staying that at that same hotel. We played
- 38:11Speaker 5: some more games and then I think we went to
- 38:13Speaker 5: that pretty quickly afterwards.
- 38:16Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, correct, Yeah, we we ordered the pizza at
- 38:20Speaker 4: the hotel, even the Italians. You guys did and you
- 38:23Speaker 4: said it was okay, so y pizza.
- 38:28Speaker 2: What time did you guys start in the morning, were
- 38:30Speaker 2: you able to start.
- 38:32Speaker 4: Earlier or nine thirty?
- 38:35Speaker 5: Okay?
- 38:36Speaker 2: And we usually the first day it'll be later at
- 38:39Speaker 2: eleven and.
- 38:40Speaker 4: Then so Thursday was twelve thirty and then the two
- 38:44Speaker 4: days after it was nine thirty.
- 38:45Speaker 2: Yeah, ok so, I mean if you're coming in, it
- 38:49Speaker 2: still gives a chance for some people to travel and
- 38:51Speaker 2: make it there by kind of that noon time. But yeah,
- 38:54Speaker 2: that's going to be a long day. I know, when
- 38:55Speaker 2: we run our six rounds and then we'll play the
- 38:57Speaker 2: first top eight match for which is what we do
- 39:00Speaker 2: on our first day. If you make that top eight,
- 39:04Speaker 2: it is it's a long day where you're finally sitting
- 39:06Speaker 2: down to eat at eight thirty nine o'clock at night,
- 39:09Speaker 2: which is or.
- 39:10Speaker 4: If you have to wait for your teammate to go
- 39:11Speaker 4: all the way to the finals then, and you're already
- 39:14Speaker 4: out after three games. That's a long day, I can
- 39:16Speaker 4: tell you.
- 39:17Speaker 5: I don't know. We talked about ark on later lords.
- 39:20Speaker 2: Oh man, there's some love there. So we get up
- 39:24Speaker 2: for day number two, and day number two we end
- 39:27Speaker 2: up going ahead and going into Sealed if I'm correct,
- 39:30Speaker 2: And it looks like from Marconnocanna that there were fifty
- 39:32Speaker 2: five players. Yep, So you guys are playing DM. Let's
- 39:37Speaker 2: start with harmed. What will kind of go in there?
- 39:41Speaker 2: How did your pool of decks? How did they look?
- 39:47Speaker 5: They looked as DM looks, but they were above average
- 39:50Speaker 5: DM dex, I would say so in general, I had
- 39:54Speaker 5: like two Equodon, which you always loved to see. One
- 39:58Speaker 5: shadows and I was hoping for a bit more. But
- 40:00Speaker 5: I'll get back to the shadow spot later. A guy
- 40:03Speaker 5: story double unfathomable some mars. I think the only thing
- 40:06Speaker 5: that I didn't see was Skyborne, And it's a shame
- 40:10Speaker 5: because I do think Skyborne does really well in Sealed.
- 40:13Speaker 5: I think it's like undervalued for what it actually can
- 40:16Speaker 5: do and the board president that can bring. But other
- 40:19Speaker 5: than that, when I opened the decks, I definitely couldn't complain.
- 40:23Speaker 5: I think I was doubting between six different pots, which
- 40:27Speaker 5: they were all above average, but there was only one
- 40:30Speaker 5: really standing out to me, and that was the shadow spot.
- 40:33Speaker 5: So that came with double pinching, malloy too much to protect,
- 40:38Speaker 5: double cutch napping some useless creatures, and a few other
- 40:42Speaker 5: really good actions actually, and I was trying to see
- 40:45Speaker 5: how can I start building around this. I think I
- 40:48Speaker 5: overvalued unfathomable a little bit, especially checking on sas the
- 40:52Speaker 5: day after when I actually scanned in those decks. But
- 40:55Speaker 5: I ended up building a deck with shadows, Fathomable and equedon,
- 41:02Speaker 5: because I mean, you have to go for equedon that
- 41:03Speaker 5: I think that was the difficult choice, which one of
- 41:05Speaker 5: my Acadon pots do I actually want to go for?
- 41:08Speaker 5: And in the end, the goal of the deck was
- 41:10Speaker 5: to rush. It generated tons of amber. It didn't do
- 41:13Speaker 5: that much on board because in all my parts I
- 41:15Speaker 5: had very little C, which I think you see quite
- 41:19Speaker 5: often in the end.
- 41:20Speaker 2: That's a that's a DM issue that we're seeing.
- 41:22Speaker 5: That is a issue. Yeah, So I tried to pick
- 41:25Speaker 5: all the C that I could get except for the
- 41:27Speaker 5: kaboom that that was in the marspot. Other than that,
- 41:30Speaker 5: I tried to get as much C as possible and
- 41:33Speaker 5: the first few games went actually really well. First game
- 41:35Speaker 5: against j Philippack, I think he could have built his
- 41:38Speaker 5: bild a little bit better and the game was over
- 41:40Speaker 5: in like fifteen to twenty minutes and really just started
- 41:43Speaker 5: talking about his deck and how he could optimize it.
- 41:45Speaker 5: So that's always good feeling to get that first quick winning.
- 41:50Speaker 5: The next two games were also wins, so I was
- 41:53Speaker 5: three to zero, pretty confident, and game four was against
- 41:58Speaker 5: your VERI own C twot and I mean, I think
- 42:03Speaker 5: you're going to talk about the game later as well
- 42:04Speaker 5: as UTI, but I feel like I was very much
- 42:07Speaker 5: in control in that game up until the end, and
- 42:12Speaker 5: I'll leave it as this. I feel like I should
- 42:14Speaker 5: have won, and then in the end he pulled out
- 42:16Speaker 5: something incredible combo and he took it. Yeah, and a
- 42:22Speaker 5: little bit shaken from that performance, I went into game five.
- 42:24Speaker 5: But before I went into game five, I actually switched
- 42:27Speaker 5: out the Unfathomable pots with the Mars pots after talking
- 42:31Speaker 5: to Motility Dragon and Motility five because I wasn't sure
- 42:34Speaker 5: what to do. But I did see that I needed
- 42:37Speaker 5: the Kaboom, I needed the extra ce I needed a
- 42:39Speaker 5: little bit more board presence, and the unfamvmable just wasn't
- 42:42Speaker 5: really doing it for me. And I'm glad I made
- 42:45Speaker 5: a change because the next game was on stream and
- 42:48Speaker 5: I barely scraped by, but I did manage to wind
- 42:51Speaker 5: up one in the end. And then Game six was
- 42:53Speaker 5: actually also on screen on stream against six or Klab,
- 42:58Speaker 5: and that one was rough again. Kaboom being my biggest CEE,
- 43:03Speaker 5: he abyssle sided it out of my hand. He made
- 43:06Speaker 5: sure that I discarded it, and all his deck did
- 43:09Speaker 5: was pretty much built an insane board with psychic case
- 43:13Speaker 5: and then the Mars creature that if you leave it exhausted,
- 43:17Speaker 5: your keys cost plus three, and I think he had
- 43:18Speaker 5: like two or three of those, so with the psychic
- 43:21Speaker 5: case you cannot even attack into those, and then if
- 43:23Speaker 5: you don't have enough c out of hands, well you
- 43:25Speaker 5: can see where that's going. I tried to keep in,
- 43:28Speaker 5: but I had to exactly. I had to forge keys
- 43:34Speaker 5: for like twelve to fifteen member every time, and I
- 43:36Speaker 5: think I managed to forge two and that's it, or
- 43:38Speaker 5: maybe even one. I don't know anymore. So that was rough.
- 43:41Speaker 5: Again four and two. I was hoping to get a
- 43:44Speaker 5: little bit further, especially since my parts looked actually quite
- 43:46Speaker 5: decent for DM standards. And again because of strength of schedule,
- 43:51Speaker 5: I came in not ninth, but tenth this time, I believe. So, yeah,
- 43:55Speaker 5: that was my silk run.
- 43:57Speaker 2: So you had the kind of death and alliance and
- 43:59Speaker 2: now you missed it by two at that four to
- 44:01Speaker 2: two good runs. But yeah, I do feel that one
- 44:07Speaker 2: of the things that I'd like to see is still
- 44:09Speaker 2: that play in match. But I understand why it adds
- 44:12Speaker 2: an extra hour that we cannot go ahead and add
- 44:15Speaker 2: that time. But yeah, finishing on nine or even ten,
- 44:18Speaker 2: it it feels rough, but I guess the short answers
- 44:22Speaker 2: of it was too l oh, you would have been
- 44:24Speaker 2: out on that second loss. So I live with what
- 44:27Speaker 2: we have. I think it is a better system, and
- 44:29Speaker 2: I'm very very happy with that. I'm excited to be
- 44:32Speaker 2: able to hear about ZUZUITI with that that talk for
- 44:36Speaker 2: round five. But all right, and so harmed, that was
- 44:41Speaker 2: a phenomenal run. Let's go ahead and take a peek,
- 44:45Speaker 2: Lord Judo, how did you see your decks as you
- 44:47Speaker 2: opened it up?
- 44:48Speaker 4: I was I was quite happy I had one shadows
- 44:53Speaker 4: that I insta pick, did that two times TMTP too
- 44:56Speaker 4: much to protect two pincher Malloy's, so all right, I
- 45:00Speaker 4: got that one. Then there was a pretty decent aquedon
- 45:05Speaker 4: with now and later two Nada Texas, some hoist operations,
- 45:10Speaker 4: authorized requisitions, and Zavo the Archaeologist, which might not be
- 45:16Speaker 4: super cool by itself, But then I was presented with
- 45:20Speaker 4: a tough choice. So I had a Uboros with a
- 45:24Speaker 4: syn dynasty. So with Syn dynasty the keys colus plus
- 45:29Speaker 4: two for each of us. So with the TMTP, it's like, hmm,
- 45:34Speaker 4: that sounds like a plan. And then when they do
- 45:36Speaker 4: manage to forge through it, then I can just use
- 45:40Speaker 4: Zavoo to play it again and have a lot of
- 45:42Speaker 4: fun that way. It makes me draw cards, gives me amber.
- 45:47Speaker 4: So that that was my like, it's just this is
- 45:51Speaker 4: a trap, because and Syn dynasty is a trap. Should
- 45:54Speaker 4: I do it? And I did it, But there were
- 45:58Speaker 4: three other unfathomable parts that I could have taken. So
- 46:02Speaker 4: game one pretty tough actually against the owner of the center,
- 46:08Speaker 4: but I got that one. Then two slightly easier games,
- 46:12Speaker 4: I think, and then again my nemesis of the French
- 46:18Speaker 4: Vulture Matility five, completely different build from everyone else. He
- 46:26Speaker 4: just spammed the board with tribute collectors, mets, holographic, Benshie,
- 46:33Speaker 4: crap rais, and of course again I had little to
- 46:38Speaker 4: know see in my deck, and I was like, okay,
- 46:41Speaker 4: well there we go again three to one classic. Now
- 46:47Speaker 4: we've got to win two times. And then I reconfigured
- 46:50Speaker 4: my deck back to actually an ARCon deck with an
- 46:55Speaker 4: unfavomable that had a little bit more c It had
- 46:59Speaker 4: like triple call of the Void, a figurific rod abyso
- 47:03Speaker 4: side fathom share, which would be quite useful to capture
- 47:07Speaker 4: amber on the creature, have them capture it back.
- 47:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I cast half of your opponent's amber, Yeah, exactly,
- 47:15Speaker 2: distribute amongst any number of friendly creatures.
- 47:18Speaker 4: Yeah. And then if they get it back, then I
- 47:21Speaker 4: just team top them for a lot. That was the idea,
- 47:26Speaker 4: and that actually went quite well. I won two more games,
- 47:30Speaker 4: I think somehow I faced two times Wasp Scream and
- 47:34Speaker 4: I had no creatures on the board except for the
- 47:36Speaker 4: one that I fathom shared all their amber on, and
- 47:39Speaker 4: then just like, hey, here you go take it back.
- 47:44Speaker 2: That is you do like wasp Spreen especially a turn
- 47:47Speaker 2: one yeah, really be a pain. So the phase two
- 47:50Speaker 2: is pretty impressive. But yes, if they capture Amber, it
- 47:54Speaker 2: is a card you cannot play.
- 47:56Speaker 4: Yes. Yeah, So I managed to do that actually twice
- 47:59Speaker 4: a thinking game five in game six, so I was
- 48:02Speaker 4: happy I had that fathom share and then top eight,
- 48:05Speaker 4: so yay, top eight game. I think it started quite
- 48:12Speaker 4: okay against Lobot, but he had double jump start on
- 48:18Speaker 4: I think Turned two or something on his Skyburne creature
- 48:22Speaker 4: who went to a lot of Amber, and then also
- 48:26Speaker 4: with I think the navigated guitar or something, I don't know,
- 48:29Speaker 4: he got a pretty big lead, but I was still
- 48:32Speaker 4: confident I could pull it back. He played a Wasp
- 48:35Speaker 4: scream as well. It's like here we go, but I
- 48:40Speaker 4: had to kill it. And for some reason, I mistook
- 48:43Speaker 4: the plus one power counters on the Wasp screen for
- 48:46Speaker 4: a damage counter because it was kind of red and black,
- 48:52Speaker 4: and I was like, it looks like a damage counter
- 48:55Speaker 4: to me, but it was a plus one power counter.
- 48:57Speaker 4: So I did a play where I was like, I
- 48:59Speaker 4: killed the off scream and he's like, oh that's a
- 49:03Speaker 4: power counter. Oh oh oh boy, I'm in trouble now.
- 49:09Speaker 4: And then it went a little bit downhill managed to
- 49:12Speaker 4: claw back. It was a pretty tight game in the end,
- 49:14Speaker 4: but yeah, I think that that error on my side
- 49:18Speaker 4: probably cost me the game. I'm not sure how it
- 49:22Speaker 4: would have ended otherwise. So pay attention to what tokens
- 49:28Speaker 4: the other person is using and internalize them very well.
- 49:32Speaker 4: Because if you used to just your own token, someone
- 49:34Speaker 4: uses slightly different ones and you assume that it is
- 49:38Speaker 4: of type A, but it turns out to be type B. Yeah,
- 49:41Speaker 4: that's that's tough. I also didn't want to ask to
- 49:43Speaker 4: take it back because it was it was too far
- 49:47Speaker 4: along and in the game was a top eight match
- 49:51Speaker 4: as well, So you make a mistake, you you's got
- 49:53Speaker 4: to take it and learn from it, even even though
- 49:57Speaker 4: it was very painful.
- 49:58Speaker 2: So top eight game, Yeah, congrats on top eight. That's
- 50:01Speaker 2: still nothing to sneeze at. So you get some nice
- 50:03Speaker 2: geo tag decks. But yeah, that is frustrating to be
- 50:06Speaker 2: able to have happened. I'll say. In my locals yesterday,
- 50:09Speaker 2: there was a red token that was put on one
- 50:11Speaker 2: of the creatures I was facing, and I understood that
- 50:15Speaker 2: that was a damage as well. It was not. Yeah,
- 50:18Speaker 2: it was a plus one token. I'm like, can I
- 50:20Speaker 2: give you some plus one tokens? This individual did not
- 50:23Speaker 2: have plus one tokens.
- 50:24Speaker 4: So that I think earlier in the game he clarified
- 50:29Speaker 4: their their tokens. So if I paid more attention, I
- 50:35Speaker 4: probably should have caught it. But yeah, in we're calculating
- 50:39Speaker 4: all the decisions, you know, and you look, you glance
- 50:42Speaker 4: at the board, stay, you're like, okay, do that, do that?
- 50:44Speaker 4: Do that that? You don't want to take too much time,
- 50:46Speaker 4: and then yeah, you commit to it. So it was
- 50:49Speaker 4: a shame I loss because I've looked at the rest
- 50:52Speaker 4: of the field. I think, my again, what is it
- 50:54Speaker 4: you mentioned earlier? If you make top eight slightly goes
- 50:58Speaker 4: slightly different, you could in the whole thing now, So
- 51:01Speaker 4: there was this chance to get that qualification, I think,
- 51:07Speaker 4: but it wasn't meant to be. But good Rund. Nonetheless,
- 51:10Speaker 4: topic should be happy.
- 51:12Speaker 2: So I want to go back to you, said Zebel. Archaeologists.
- 51:16Speaker 2: So that's a four power equadon human scientist. Each time
- 51:19Speaker 2: you play an artifact from your discard pile, gain one
- 51:21Speaker 2: pretty cool, and then play after reap you may play
- 51:24Speaker 2: an artifact from your discard pile, and then you were
- 51:26Speaker 2: actually partnering that up with Sin Dynasty, where is an
- 51:30Speaker 2: artifact power keys cost bus too after opponent fource is
- 51:33Speaker 2: a key game two Amber, draw four cards and destroy
- 51:36Speaker 2: Sin Dynasty, but it is dual sided. It is Yeah,
- 51:42Speaker 2: what it looks like you played it for the first
- 51:45Speaker 2: was that.
- 51:46Speaker 4: Just for the first four I played it?
- 51:48Speaker 2: Okay?
- 51:49Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 51:49Speaker 2: And why why did you back away from that? Was
- 51:51Speaker 2: it more?
- 51:52Speaker 5: Well?
- 51:52Speaker 4: I faced Moutility five with a big board and I
- 51:57Speaker 4: needed a bit more board control. And then with Fathom
- 52:01Speaker 4: Share it was one of the parts I was considering
- 52:03Speaker 4: as well. And then the the Oboros wasn't doing much
- 52:08Speaker 4: in that game, so I started doubting as like okay,
- 52:10Speaker 4: and Utility five kind of convinced me to switch. But
- 52:13Speaker 4: it does sound magnificent, right, Sin Dynasty with TMTP and
- 52:17Speaker 4: with Zavo and even two tmtps.
- 52:20Speaker 2: Like it sounds amazing, but it also sounds a little
- 52:23Speaker 2: bit more Christmas tree Land, Like yes, I were like, okay,
- 52:26Speaker 2: I can play this, but depending on what's in for
- 52:29Speaker 2: your oboros, Like it's very possible that the rest of
- 52:32Speaker 2: the house is just kind of eh. And it was.
- 52:34Speaker 4: It was, It wasn't it, but it was I think
- 52:39Speaker 4: there was even a pip to pill for in it
- 52:41Speaker 4: was some more steel and capture, and I think also
- 52:44Speaker 4: like the clock Cloaks swiper, something like if exhausted creatures
- 52:48Speaker 4: capture won, They're a lot more capturing there as well.
- 52:50Speaker 4: So it synergized quite well with the Shadows. But I
- 52:54Speaker 4: had myself convinced that I had to pick that unfathomable
- 52:58Speaker 4: and it worked well for the two other games. If
- 53:01Speaker 4: I swapt the Oldborros in for the top eight game again,
- 53:04Speaker 4: probably that would have been better. But in hindsight, there's
- 53:07Speaker 4: always twenty twenty so well.
- 53:10Speaker 2: And typically what we're seeing is Obos doesn't show up
- 53:13Speaker 2: in the top eight. Neither does Mars, which was interesting
- 53:15Speaker 2: when Harmon was talking about that earlier. Now Mars can
- 53:17Speaker 2: be old code of Mars where it's just real bad
- 53:19Speaker 2: or real real good. So if you have a solid pod,
- 53:22Speaker 2: I can see that happening.
- 53:23Speaker 5: Oh we have. We actually had four Mars pots show
- 53:26Speaker 5: up at the top eight, so I actually did show
- 53:28Speaker 5: up quite a long.
- 53:29Speaker 4: Did someone have a solid Mars pod?
- 53:32Speaker 5: Who knows?
- 53:35Speaker 4: Well?
- 53:35Speaker 2: Shall we go and talk, uh missus ZOUI, how did
- 53:39Speaker 2: when you saw your decks, how did they look to you?
- 53:42Speaker 3: Honestly, when I first opened them, I was really happy,
- 53:47Speaker 3: but really really happy because I had two Skyborns, two Shadows,
- 53:52Speaker 3: two Equidoms, one Mars and one Unfuckable. I think, lots
- 53:57Speaker 3: of choice, so yeah, but I was like, Okay, Skybourne
- 54:01Speaker 3: is great in sealed, so I will probably pick them.
- 54:05Speaker 3: Also Shadows that is pretty much a master, so I'm
- 54:08Speaker 3: happy I can choose between two pots. And the aquedon
- 54:11Speaker 3: are nice as well. Usually they are what they wanted
- 54:15Speaker 3: for the speed similar. The one thing I was sure about,
- 54:20Speaker 3: and I told it to the other Italians and I
- 54:23Speaker 3: think to lerd J, you do as well, is that
- 54:26Speaker 3: I wasn't going to play Mars because I really don't
- 54:30Speaker 3: like them in the end, I don't think they usually
- 54:34Speaker 3: have what it takes to Yeah, and then in the
- 54:42Speaker 3: end I had that I had to pick that Mars pot.
- 54:46Speaker 3: It was basically a Martian propagation with the nine creatures
- 54:52Speaker 3: in Mars, so you could basically play them and get
- 54:56Speaker 3: to draw a lot. The other two actions where a
- 54:59Speaker 3: destroyed which is nice for artifact control, and the transmutation
- 55:05Speaker 3: the EQ we don't wear nice. The mid year saved
- 55:08Speaker 3: me a lot because I had no caboom in Mars itself,
- 55:13Speaker 3: so that was my way of controlling the board and
- 55:18Speaker 3: forged currency, which actually saved me against Heart because otherwise
- 55:23Speaker 3: I would have taken the too much to protect in
- 55:26Speaker 3: the face. And the last house was a Shadows, which
- 55:32Speaker 3: honestly was not that great because I missed pretty much
- 55:39Speaker 3: all the good cards aside from a double pincher malloy
- 55:43Speaker 3: and putting apping, which did synergize with the take a Break,
- 55:48Speaker 3: But aside from that not muchell Si had the easy marks,
- 55:52Speaker 3: the Grammy tops and the actual MVP of the tournament,
- 55:57Speaker 3: which was oxs Aarbain.
- 56:01Speaker 4: And MVP pay.
- 56:04Speaker 2: Yeah Serving So yeah two power Elf politician creature. Each
- 56:09Speaker 2: enemy creature gains after fight after exhaust each friendly creature
- 56:13Speaker 2: that shares a house with this creature, so it is
- 56:16Speaker 2: it's which status you got to deal with it for sure.
- 56:19Speaker 3: Honestly, it was amazing. He totally saved me in later games.
- 56:25Speaker 3: He also saved me during the qualifying rounds and well
- 56:30Speaker 3: doing the quite fine rounds. I went five to one,
- 56:35Speaker 3: so top eight and all the matches there were really tense,
- 56:41Speaker 3: mostly because, as I said, I don't have that much
- 56:44Speaker 3: value in Shadows, so not having what you usually want,
- 56:51Speaker 3: like the TMTP or the counterfeit really put me in
- 56:56Speaker 3: some awkward spots.
- 56:59Speaker 4: But.
- 57:00Speaker 3: Drawing a lot is what helped me to get to
- 57:04Speaker 3: the top. I think game three I was able to
- 57:09Speaker 3: draw fourteen cards against Armed I think eighteen if I
- 57:14Speaker 3: remember correctly.
- 57:16Speaker 5: Yeah, I think so at least.
- 57:19Speaker 3: Yeah, So my qualifying rounds were basically all around that
- 57:24Speaker 3: Martian propagation and being able to pop off the forge
- 57:29Speaker 3: currency later with the epiden. So the whole strategy relied
- 57:34Speaker 3: around the Martian propulation itself.
- 57:36Speaker 5: I mean in the end, you just had like half
- 57:38Speaker 5: you're decking your hand, right, so that helps?
- 57:42Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah.
- 57:44Speaker 2: Did you make a choice to hold on to some
- 57:47Speaker 2: of the creatures so that you would play them and
- 57:49Speaker 2: then just immediately blow up your board or were you
- 57:53Speaker 2: content playing those nine mars and basically when Martian propagation hit,
- 57:58Speaker 2: you know you're gonna blow it up and keep psych.
- 58:02Speaker 3: Usually I just blow them up. I think just in
- 58:05Speaker 3: game five I did remain with my board because it
- 58:10Speaker 3: was more valuable that way. But aside from that, I
- 58:15Speaker 3: don't really have that much value in the board itself.
- 58:18Speaker 3: And even if you destroy all the creatures, that are
- 58:22Speaker 3: down and you get to redraw into your deck. You're
- 58:25Speaker 3: still going to take those creatures back, so you're drawing
- 58:28Speaker 3: your entire deck plus.
- 58:30Speaker 2: All right, sorry about some of the technical difficulty there, Zui,
- 58:34Speaker 2: you're just talking about that sweet Mars board and talk
- 58:39Speaker 2: to us. What did you have with all these creatures?
- 58:42Speaker 3: Yeah, I usually just destroy them to draw into them.
- 58:46Speaker 3: I think the only valuable creatures that you get out
- 58:49Speaker 3: of here are the Triple Operator Oluke, which actually paited
- 58:54Speaker 3: quite a bit of money opponents because adding shadows in
- 58:59Speaker 3: the deck, I could get the key cost high here
- 59:05Speaker 3: and they wouldn't get that much high due to the
- 59:08Speaker 3: MP risk.
- 59:09Speaker 4: Would have been my question as well, Like they did
- 59:11Speaker 4: a lot of opponents like we're scheduled, we'd go to
- 59:15Speaker 4: like seven or eight and then like.
- 59:17Speaker 3: Eh, yeah exactly. They kind of slowed down because they
- 59:21Speaker 3: didn't want to get too much of MTP in their game.
- 59:26Speaker 2: So and there wasn't anyone who just pushed and said
- 59:30Speaker 2: if it happens, it happens.
- 59:31Speaker 3: Interesting. I think he did in game five as well,
- 59:39Speaker 3: But then I just played the Triple Operators, so I
- 59:41Speaker 3: was like, hey, you were.
- 59:43Speaker 4: That you're going to forge, So this is an interesting strategy, right,
- 59:48Speaker 4: like would this work better against a good player or
- 59:52Speaker 4: would it be worse against an average player. He'd be like, eh, silled,
- 59:57Speaker 4: I need to forge for nine, So we'd just go
- 59:59Speaker 4: to nine and you know, and a good player might
- 1:00:01Speaker 4: go like, hmmm, he's got shutouts. Yeah, I see what
- 1:00:06Speaker 4: you're trying to do here, and then play around it
- 1:00:08Speaker 4: and then actually not having to play around it because
- 1:00:10Speaker 4: it's not even there. It's next level of mind games.
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: I think that's what Sarcastic did in a way, because
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: my only loss was in the sixth round and they
- 1:00:22Speaker 3: just played his board and went to check without caring
- 1:00:25Speaker 3: about what I did. So his war game plan was
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: that was just it was just like going over me
- 1:00:34Speaker 3: in value in general, and that was my goals. Plus
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: he decided to discard the Martian propagation each time, but
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: with the abistol side or the latteral shift to play
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: him on himself. So yes, saying what the Martian propagation does?
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: Yeah, lateral shift such a good card. Yeah, all right,
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: so you made top eight. How did your top eight
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: game go?
- 1:01:03Speaker 3: My first game was against the calib and honestly, it
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: wasn't that rough because it's worn, it's whole deck dependent
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: of the word, and my board was just bigger. So
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: even if he tried to compensate with the Kaboom, it
- 1:01:23Speaker 3: was just giving me more value for the Martian propagation
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: because my creatures will get archived and I would play
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: them and get the whole deck in end by them.
- 1:01:34Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: That's the real problem with with kaboom is that if
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: you face against Mars, it essentially doesn't become see anymore.
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, I was kind of set to not have
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: it in my pood, but in the end, I'm fine
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: with what it is actually, and Top four was actually
- 1:01:55Speaker 3: where boxes are being resplended, because I was thinking that
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: I was going to lose that game because Gnocchi found
- 1:02:05Speaker 3: an amazing deck. I saw it in the susper view.
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: It was something like a one hundred and six of
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: an Alliance. The gistoids there were insane and they did
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: a turn where it basically played his whole pod and
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: they couldn't do anything about it. They didn't have the
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: cards that they needed do the trash hip discarding my
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: Martian hand, so I couldn't make him pay more, and
- 1:02:40Speaker 3: the ox serveain as I was saying was what saved
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: me because one time he decided to reap and his
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: whole board got exhausted. So on the next turn it
- 1:02:55Speaker 3: decided to trade him up, but with another really trashy
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: card of this, which is Grammy taps, I gave exclusive,
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: so that costed him another turn and that was when
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: I was able to actually make a comeback. So this
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: are being there was what changed the game for me.
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: Otherwise I would have totally lost.
- 1:03:17Speaker 5: Interesting.
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: Yeah, and so with that win, you qualified for World
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: So congratulations and you go into the final game. Let's
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: talk a little bit about you're now playing for all
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: the marbles to walk away as a vault warrior or
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: to be a deuce. I've been there before. A couple
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: of us have. How did this? Did you play one, two,
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: three games? Well? Did you play two or three games?
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: And what happened? Talk us through the finals?
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: Yeah, we didn't play two games in total, and it
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: was me against the Sarcastic. So the only match I
- 1:03:55Speaker 3: was doing the Swiss rounds. And the one thing that
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: actually helped me a lot is that I knew what
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: he was going to play, so I knew that he
- 1:04:06Speaker 3: had against all flegs. Actually I believed that you only
- 1:04:11Speaker 3: had two of them. He had the three in the end,
- 1:04:14Speaker 3: plus the Narth forge to block my forge, and he
- 1:04:19Speaker 3: was relying on board. So what I needed to do
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: and what I needed to know was that I wasn't
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: going to let him get ahead of me on the board,
- 1:04:29Speaker 3: and I tried to fight with the mars as much
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: as I could. And I didn't really play the propagation
- 1:04:37Speaker 3: in the finals, mostly because one time he decided to
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: discard it with the abystal side and then purge it
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: with the hunting back, and in the second game he
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: played it himself with the letter shift, so there was
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: no way for me to actually play it.
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: But I was looking at the stack. So the unfailable
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: that playing against at lateral shift, double vissil sites, it
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: had triple against all flags, the triple prop dusting, it
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: had crepticular rays, the demater like man just this is
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: a solid bill to go against. So using your knowledge
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: and again everyone here is a phenomenal player, but that
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: really goes ahead and helps you to know when I
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: should be keeping my board, when I should be saving it.
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: And I think the knowledge of being able to play
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: in that fifth round that was huge.
- 1:05:33Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah. I think the knowledge there was what changed
- 1:05:38Speaker 3: my whole approach to the game itself. And as I said,
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: I tried to be as bushy as possible on the bullerd.
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: In other cases I would have just reap and gain Youmber.
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: In that case it was no, I'm going to fight you,
- 1:05:54Speaker 3: so you'll have to steal my amber and find some responses.
- 1:06:00Speaker 3: One other thing that I needed to change was my
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: approach with now and later, because during the Swiss rounds
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: I usually used it to get back in my hand
- 1:06:12Speaker 3: pincher malloy and archive it for a leader turn in
- 1:06:16Speaker 3: that game. Then now and later was more crucial to
- 1:06:20Speaker 3: eliminate cards like putting up being or the pinture itself
- 1:06:25Speaker 3: from his latter shift. So it was more of a
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: protective play rather than something that you want to keep
- 1:06:33Speaker 3: for your future turns.
- 1:06:37Speaker 4: Nice, but this is knowledge you gained fairly, right, So
- 1:06:43Speaker 4: what sometimes happens you stuff starts going around, right, So
- 1:06:50Speaker 4: I heard people they knew that I doubled him TP
- 1:06:54Speaker 4: for instance. You know, and now we play sealed finals
- 1:06:57Speaker 4: on the same day, so that eliminates a little bit
- 1:07:00Speaker 4: of it. Where from the top A, you have your
- 1:07:03Speaker 4: some teammates that played against it, and they tell you
- 1:07:06Speaker 4: you have first hand experience. So if not in Swiss,
- 1:07:09Speaker 4: you probably would have because you're a great player, would
- 1:07:11Speaker 4: have noticed game one in the finals, and maybe it
- 1:07:15Speaker 4: would be game two and three where you change it.
- 1:07:17Speaker 4: But there is something to be said for I heard
- 1:07:23Speaker 4: it somewhere that they said top eight sealed, you get
- 1:07:28Speaker 4: three new decks and then no one knows who has
- 1:07:32Speaker 4: what you know otherwise at some point almost I don't
- 1:07:36Speaker 4: know how it is in the States, but in Europe
- 1:07:39Speaker 4: people kind of know what people have, especially if it's
- 1:07:42Speaker 4: a day after where you do the final. So this
- 1:07:45Speaker 4: is a very intriguing thought to me, where for the
- 1:07:49Speaker 4: top eight you get three new decks and you do
- 1:07:52Speaker 4: your sealed all over again.
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: Yeah, that would make absolute sense because as I will,
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: as I was saying before, I kind of knew what
- 1:08:02Speaker 3: he was going to play into and what his game
- 1:08:06Speaker 3: plan was, so I tried to stop his game plan
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: based on what he did doing our game in the Swiss.
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: I mean I can say from stateside, yes, we are
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: aware of what if we played against someone, there's definitely information.
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: There is information that travels from any any player, anyone
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: who knows that's why. I was a little surprised when
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: you're saying the city that you didn't have the TMTP
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: and like it didn't really get around because typically that
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: information it's going to go ahead and people are going
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: to be aware of it. But I love that you
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: played straight up. You're able to kind of know and
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: kind of lean into it. So well done. You got
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: the vault warrior status of congrats think you. That's a
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: huge accomplishment, something I have not accomplished myself. So hey, hey, honestly,
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: just making top eight is a real It requires a
- 1:09:03Speaker 2: lot of work and practice and some luck. There's no
- 1:09:07Speaker 2: question about it. To be able to do it more
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: than once, it requires so anyone who can make it
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: all the way and finish it's a big accomplishment. So
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: well done, Thank you. All right, So that was your
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: Saturday boys. Did you get out at a reasonable times Zudi?
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: I assume it was late because you're playing in the finals.
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: Did you just go ahead and go back and crash
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: again or did we do anything fun?
- 1:09:31Speaker 3: We need to get a under pizza in Yotel, but
- 1:09:34Speaker 3: mostly because everything else was closed so we had no
- 1:09:37Speaker 3: other It.
- 1:09:38Speaker 4: Wasn't France playing whatever, Germany or something. No, no, no,
- 1:09:44Speaker 4: I don't know. The world Yeah, World Cup match, what's
- 1:09:47Speaker 4: going on? So the French were all watching that instead
- 1:09:51Speaker 4: of opening their shops or something. I don't know. We
- 1:09:54Speaker 4: managed to get some food. Don we were earlier, Yeah,
- 1:09:58Speaker 4: we were.
- 1:09:58Speaker 5: In twenties except when I hadn't opened it and also
- 1:10:01Speaker 5: played in the lobby, and I know six got absolutely
- 1:10:04Speaker 5: mental by the deck that he opened, saying every time
- 1:10:08Speaker 5: he's flip the card, he was saying, oh is this
- 1:10:10Speaker 5: in set? Oh my god, is this also in set?
- 1:10:13Speaker 5: This deck is insane? And I think he went ahead
- 1:10:16Speaker 5: and brought it to Ark on the next day and yeah, right, yeah, yeah,
- 1:10:22Speaker 5: And I think it went as expected where you feel
- 1:10:24Speaker 5: like completely overwhelmed by how good the deck is and
- 1:10:26Speaker 5: then you use it in practice. And I think it
- 1:10:28Speaker 5: didn't match up to his expectations, but it did really.
- 1:10:33Speaker 3: Actually yeah, it went for two. I think, Wow, so
- 1:10:40Speaker 3: better than expected.
- 1:10:41Speaker 4: Yeah, four to two is pretty crazy with deck you
- 1:10:45Speaker 4: opened the night before at ten o'clock and then just
- 1:10:48Speaker 4: sleeping on it and playing it the next day. That's
- 1:10:51Speaker 4: that's crazy.
- 1:10:53Speaker 3: I think, even better than his prophetic vision that he
- 1:10:57Speaker 3: was going to play, because he's prophetic vision went three
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: three if I remember, and.
- 1:11:03Speaker 2: Then you're not playing PD too, so there's some benefit
- 1:11:06Speaker 2: to that.
- 1:11:07Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, all right.
- 1:11:11Speaker 2: So first sealed with the fifty five players, Zooti taking
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: it down, qualifying for Worlds runner up being Sarcastic who
- 1:11:17Speaker 2: also qualifies the world. So congrats to both of you.
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: Top four casnochie again name we're seeing a little bot
- 1:11:24Speaker 2: four top four, and then our top eight is that
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: it's x ki x Is that kicks kicks, So it's
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: gonna go with Okay, I'll go with that Mobility five
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: Flash Skindy.
- 1:11:38Speaker 4: Or Motility five, and don't say mobility multil.
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: I thought I said motility but I apologize if I
- 1:11:45Speaker 2: did not Motility five. I mean we've heard your your
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: arch nemesis.
- 1:11:49Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, yeah, I want to name him. Right, it's
- 1:11:51Speaker 4: Motility five.
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: Well, I apologize if I said anything different Motility five.
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: And then Lord Judo and congrats to all of our
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: top eight. So you guys then wake up and Sunday
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: did you go out did you grab a beverage to celebrate?
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: We just went back. We watched the World Cup game
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: and it was it pretty much.
- 1:12:15Speaker 3: Yeah, I didn't really celebrate it that much that evening,
- 1:12:19Speaker 3: mostly because we had the ARK on the next day.
- 1:12:21Speaker 3: So yeah, apretty eight.
- 1:12:24Speaker 4: I mean there's there's no draftscore experience in Europe. We
- 1:12:28Speaker 4: have the snore Forge experience where we just go to
- 1:12:32Speaker 4: bed and sleep.
- 1:12:34Speaker 2: So if US Americans come over, would there be a
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: draftscore experience?
- 1:12:39Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: Okay, okay, so that that I mean, it is possible
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: to start one. It's a good time.
- 1:12:45Speaker 4: Barnaby come over, right, Yeah.
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: Barnaby is so good. As long as we put it
- 1:12:49Speaker 2: on reservest Jones tab, we're good. Nice all right. So
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: then you guys went into Sunday and arcan with fifty
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: two players. Now what decks did you select? And where
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: are we going? So let's let's start here with Judo.
- 1:13:07Speaker 2: What did you choose? Since we just talked with.
- 1:13:09Speaker 4: So, I said, if I do really well in sealed
- 1:13:15Speaker 4: ore lines, I will not pick PV. I will pick
- 1:13:18Speaker 4: my DM deck. Top eight was okay, but it wasn't
- 1:13:23Speaker 4: like top four or qualified. So if I was qualified
- 1:13:27Speaker 4: for something, not pick PV. Unfortunately I didn't, So I, yeah,
- 1:13:33Speaker 4: I had to pick a PV deck that I've been
- 1:13:36Speaker 4: holding on not selecting for worlds, where in hindsight, I thought, oh, man.
- 1:13:40Speaker 4: If I only selected this deck, it would have been
- 1:13:42Speaker 4: it would have been great. So I chose a PV deck,
- 1:13:45Speaker 4: which was kind of.
- 1:13:46Speaker 2: Horn I'm gonna I'm gonna plut a time out here, harmed.
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: You let your duo do this? Was this an acceptable
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: answer that you know he top eighted, but it wasn't
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: good enough. I mean I did hear it correct.
- 1:13:58Speaker 5: Very high standards in our team on top eight. Well,
- 1:14:01Speaker 5: it's not a qualification.
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: I guess you're often you get to go ahead and
- 1:14:09Speaker 2: not play DM. But sure, go ahead to playing your PV.
- 1:14:12Speaker 2: You give into the devil.
- 1:14:14Speaker 5: It happened.
- 1:14:14Speaker 4: But but, but, but but this PV is not your
- 1:14:17Speaker 4: classical PV. It had Sanctum with four obeyed, the Grims
- 1:14:22Speaker 4: or three and the Corpulent Collector. So those are my
- 1:14:26Speaker 4: star stars of the show because it also has double
- 1:14:30Speaker 4: spend drift.
- 1:14:31Speaker 2: That is not a statement that I typically hear from.
- 1:14:34Speaker 2: Sanctum is corpulated Collector, yes, Graham, Okay, okay, fair.
- 1:14:39Speaker 4: So it's a pretty cool deck where it's like it's
- 1:14:42Speaker 4: got tribune pompatus, so it makes your creatures with amber stronger.
- 1:14:45Speaker 4: So Corpulent Collector could capture one hundred member and wouldn't die.
- 1:14:49Speaker 4: A lot of warding in it with pedogene Imperium, double
- 1:14:53Speaker 4: spend Thrift, that this has crypto collapse, it's got traumatic echo,
- 1:14:59Speaker 4: it's got too long, I've worked.
- 1:15:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm not playing this card Trank's Creed, but the
- 1:15:05Speaker 2: other card, Cryptic Collapse, it's also there.
- 1:15:08Speaker 4: Okay, okay, I he I mean it's it's not as
- 1:15:10Speaker 4: good as Trank's Creed because it's just click the button
- 1:15:14Speaker 4: and you know I'm in t c O. Yeah.
- 1:15:22Speaker 2: Great, thanks boys.
- 1:15:23Speaker 4: So my first game, I was like, okay, first game,
- 1:15:27Speaker 4: round one, let's let's start easy. No no, no, no,
- 1:15:30Speaker 4: no no no, that's that's not in it. I face
- 1:15:34Speaker 4: Jim James battle. He's playing a Trank's Creed deck with
- 1:15:41Speaker 4: all kinds of I think, triple traumatic echo, all the
- 1:15:46Speaker 4: nasty stuff, the constant even which is like the constant,
- 1:15:51Speaker 4: what do you mean? So I I tried to play
- 1:15:57Speaker 4: mind games putting playing a Spendrift and then holding the
- 1:16:01Speaker 4: other one and not putting it under the fate, and
- 1:16:04Speaker 4: but he was kind of onto me. A very stressful game,
- 1:16:08Speaker 4: to be honest, with all these fates triggering not triggering.
- 1:16:11Speaker 4: That's a that's a theme in PV where you're constantly
- 1:16:13Speaker 4: on edge and you're hoping for the stupid ask again
- 1:16:17Speaker 4: to not trigger or do trigger or yeah. So so
- 1:16:23Speaker 4: it was dancing around. I think at one point my
- 1:16:26Speaker 4: Marcello singlers.
- 1:16:27Speaker 2: Yeah, you said the constant. So this is an artifact. Yeah,
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: it has a pep the constant. Each player skips their
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: draw card step at the start of your turn, remove
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: a time counter from the constant, then destroy it. If
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: there are no time counters on it, play put two
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: time counters on the constant. So you're playing around that.
- 1:16:46Speaker 4: Yeah, so the pretty much my deck is now r
- 1:16:49Speaker 4: by the way, but it's pretty much if they play
- 1:16:52Speaker 4: it on their turn, then they don't get to draw up,
- 1:16:56Speaker 4: but neither do you for two turns and then they
- 1:16:58Speaker 4: get to go against it. That's really scary. It didn't
- 1:17:01Speaker 4: happen that game, luckily, but my Marcella got shranked for
- 1:17:07Speaker 4: ten twelve Mber or so, and then I just managed
- 1:17:10Speaker 4: to keep warding it and just keep reaping. I think
- 1:17:13Speaker 4: I had a hand of like twenty cards or so
- 1:17:16Speaker 4: at the end, and then I could lock it out
- 1:17:19Speaker 4: with well time traumatic echo. He wasn't playing any more
- 1:17:24Speaker 4: creatures because of the crypto collapse in the twenty pard.
- 1:17:26Speaker 5: Hand underneathge oh yeah, get you all on the back.
- 1:17:29Speaker 4: Right, Yeah.
- 1:17:31Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:17:32Speaker 4: I spent drift underneath there as well, so we've gotten
- 1:17:34Speaker 4: me like a bazillion number. Very close game and I
- 1:17:40Speaker 4: was like, okay, okay, got that one out of the way.
- 1:17:43Speaker 4: Onto the second one against Jim from Wales, I think
- 1:17:47Speaker 4: as well, another crazy PV deck. All of it was
- 1:17:52Speaker 4: crazy PVD cks. We played on stream. I stacked four
- 1:17:56Speaker 4: emberor Marcella and turned two and then put a potential
- 1:18:01Speaker 4: spend drift on the look before they come, and he
- 1:18:03Speaker 4: was thinking there for five minutes of a play creature
- 1:18:05Speaker 4: or not, and he did it wasn't spend drift, so
- 1:18:09Speaker 4: he took. He took the gamble. Very close game. Can
- 1:18:13Speaker 4: watch it back on stream. I lost that one, kind
- 1:18:16Speaker 4: of bummed. Didn't make any mistakes, so I was like, okay, fine,
- 1:18:21Speaker 4: Game three were still in it. My deck is good
- 1:18:24Speaker 4: enough to face the one once. And then they got
- 1:18:29Speaker 4: paired up against Jalapenos, which now puts me in a
- 1:18:35Speaker 4: very difficult position because you go one two you're pretty
- 1:18:39Speaker 4: much out of it. There's no way on strength of schedule.
- 1:18:42Speaker 4: It has to be a miracle yeah.
- 1:18:44Speaker 2: The loss early is yeah huge.
- 1:18:46Speaker 4: And then paired up. I was like, okay, the game
- 1:18:50Speaker 4: was going great, and Neil bider game, but he his
- 1:18:55Speaker 4: deck is very nasty. Honestly, those two also made the
- 1:18:59Speaker 4: top eight the way. I just managed to face them
- 1:19:02Speaker 4: in round two and three paired up. I lost that game.
- 1:19:05Speaker 4: So now I'm one two and I'm just hating life.
- 1:19:08Speaker 4: I'm like, okay, so I played my PV I didn't
- 1:19:11Speaker 4: have that much fun. I didn't play my DM, and
- 1:19:14Speaker 4: now I'm one two and harm this three zero. He's
- 1:19:17Speaker 4: probably gonna go all the way. I'm sitting here waiting
- 1:19:21Speaker 4: for the day to end, which is still like nine
- 1:19:24Speaker 4: hours away. I was not loving it at that time.
- 1:19:31Speaker 4: That yeah, yeah, yeah, and then and then the game
- 1:19:40Speaker 4: after I didn't really care too much. So yeah, I
- 1:19:45Speaker 4: still managed to go three three in the end because
- 1:19:48Speaker 4: I was there anyway. Yeah yeah, that was that was that?
- 1:19:53Speaker 4: So what's the lesson here?
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: I don't know say that that was the lesson? You
- 1:20:00Speaker 2: should have just played your DM.
- 1:20:03Speaker 4: Yeah, indeed, I should have played my DM. I probably
- 1:20:05Speaker 4: would have gotten the same or better result, But it
- 1:20:08Speaker 4: was an unfortunate route to the top eight, if there
- 1:20:11Speaker 4: even was one to face. I think the top four
- 1:20:15Speaker 4: they played each other in the top eight match or
- 1:20:18Speaker 4: top four the ones I lost to. Yeah, that that
- 1:20:23Speaker 4: happens paired up, Yeah is what it is. And then
- 1:20:29Speaker 4: I just cheered on my teammates cheered on.
- 1:20:32Speaker 2: Right, yeah, very well. Let's go over to Zazouri. What
- 1:20:36Speaker 2: did you choose as your ark on deck?
- 1:20:39Speaker 3: Sudenly prophetic vision as well, mostly because I think they
- 1:20:44Speaker 3: feel this prophetic visions.
- 1:20:46Speaker 2: Now, okay, is it that you think they field this
- 1:20:49Speaker 2: prophetic vision and that's why you played it, or that
- 1:20:51Speaker 2: gave you the best chance to.
- 1:20:52Speaker 3: Win, or honestly, I think.
- 1:20:58Speaker 2: It's the same reason why I played it at say
- 1:21:00Speaker 2: those boys and I was also with you, or or
- 1:21:02Speaker 2: I'm like, why am I playing this? I actually just
- 1:21:04Speaker 2: played DM and it was my name Doak and I
- 1:21:06Speaker 2: would have roughly finished the same. So yes, sadness, but
- 1:21:10Speaker 2: go ahead.
- 1:21:12Speaker 3: Yeah, I felt like I needed to play it, But
- 1:21:16Speaker 3: I do not enjoy the side itself. The deck is
- 1:21:20Speaker 3: pretty nasty because you have the traumatic aco, the atrocity
- 1:21:24Speaker 3: tranks create the cover fire wood wing double chummy, and
- 1:21:30Speaker 3: the prophecies are not bad because you have the lookalt
- 1:21:33Speaker 3: far when you play a creature and trust your feelings
- 1:21:37Speaker 3: in different cards so I could prop them pretty easily.
- 1:21:43Speaker 3: The matches were nice up until the third game, where
- 1:21:49Speaker 3: I lost to a prophetic vision as well, and it
- 1:21:53Speaker 3: was an untamed loop, so basically the whole thing relied
- 1:21:58Speaker 3: on punctuary to detly and drawing into more maintained the
- 1:22:03Speaker 3: end forge with the Prince Buffo. I could have gone
- 1:22:07Speaker 3: out of that situation with either the color Fire or
- 1:22:10Speaker 3: the trunk Stuit, but I didn't have them in end,
- 1:22:13Speaker 3: so I lost the three two to Tonio, and I
- 1:22:19Speaker 3: think I also lost the fifth game to Lorenzo, which
- 1:22:25Speaker 3: was playing Deck with the Rage Rizet recursion cryptic collapse
- 1:22:31Speaker 3: with the Sarian people, so really nasty as well, and
- 1:22:37Speaker 3: he had to trust your feelings, and in both the
- 1:22:40Speaker 3: games in which I had to select this, it discarded
- 1:22:46Speaker 3: all the dist that I had in the end with
- 1:22:48Speaker 3: the Rage Riseet, so it was basically, okay, I'll just
- 1:22:52Speaker 3: put this under the prophecy end pass.
- 1:22:55Speaker 2: Did Antonio before I kind of bounce off that game,
- 1:22:58Speaker 2: did he have I mean that was pipped and untamed.
- 1:23:02Speaker 3: No, that's that's another hotel.
- 1:23:06Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, and that's why I'm like that Deck has
- 1:23:09Speaker 2: left a few scars, so that's why I was just recalling.
- 1:23:12Speaker 2: But okay, Untamed Loop, I hear it's there.
- 1:23:16Speaker 3: Actually I play a lot with him, and it's one
- 1:23:19Speaker 3: of our usual matches, and it's a nightmare for me.
- 1:23:24Speaker 3: The only way I can try and stop him is
- 1:23:27Speaker 3: with the broken intent on the niasma itself. Otherwise it's game.
- 1:23:31Speaker 4: Yep.
- 1:23:33Speaker 2: Yeah, Oh, so what did you end up finishing that?
- 1:23:38Speaker 2: For archive?
- 1:23:40Speaker 3: I was four two and I was like twelve, I
- 1:23:44Speaker 3: think something around it, So it wasn't really.
- 1:23:48Speaker 2: Yeah, boys, all these scores are great. Well it's three three, four, two,
- 1:23:51Speaker 2: four to two, lots of four twos. We're just the
- 1:23:54Speaker 2: cost there, Dutch use over there. Just settle down, settle down.
- 1:24:03Speaker 2: You're fine, all right, they're all right. Is there any
- 1:24:12Speaker 2: games that stood out to use the city before we
- 1:24:15Speaker 2: go on?
- 1:24:16Speaker 3: I think the one against Lorenzo because it was pretty
- 1:24:21Speaker 3: balanced up until the Ridge visits and I basically got
- 1:24:26Speaker 3: the full profiting vision experience, which is in gream reminders. Yeah.
- 1:24:32Speaker 3: In gream reminders you had to sit down and watch
- 1:24:35Speaker 3: your opponent play, and in profitting Vision you have to
- 1:24:38Speaker 3: sit down and watch yourself and not be able to.
- 1:24:43Speaker 2: I actually agree with that statement that yes, for the
- 1:24:46Speaker 2: most part, it is okay. Did they hit at the
- 1:24:50Speaker 2: right time and discard the key cards I need?
- 1:24:53Speaker 5: Great? You know.
- 1:24:54Speaker 4: You know what the worst part is that Lorenzo is
- 1:24:56Speaker 4: a runner up in Worlds, right, so it is worse
- 1:24:59Speaker 4: or best worst PV deck wasn't even allowed to be played.
- 1:25:04Speaker 5: So I think he went ahead and bought the Chinese
- 1:25:07Speaker 5: deck that he was playing.
- 1:25:10Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah exactly.
- 1:25:13Speaker 2: I mean we're we're degenerate, so yes, we make sure.
- 1:25:17Speaker 4: And on top of that, it's not just a deck.
- 1:25:19Speaker 4: Lorenzo is just a really good player.
- 1:25:20Speaker 2: So yeah, he as a phenomenal player. There's no question
- 1:25:23Speaker 2: about that. All right. Uh, mister Harms, I believe it
- 1:25:30Speaker 2: is time for you. How did Arkon? How did it
- 1:25:33Speaker 2: look for you? Did you know your deck ahead of time?
- 1:25:36Speaker 2: Do you feel comfortable with it?
- 1:25:38Speaker 5: Uh?
- 1:25:38Speaker 2: It was it an o two day and he just
- 1:25:40Speaker 2: went home crying.
- 1:25:41Speaker 5: N was the reason that I definitely wanted to go
- 1:25:44Speaker 5: to Paris. I mean I was going to go regardless,
- 1:25:46Speaker 5: but ARCon was my day. And that's because I've been
- 1:25:52Speaker 5: on a quest to look for, well, the best deck
- 1:25:55Speaker 5: in the world or the perfect deck. I know, such
- 1:25:57Speaker 5: a thing doesn't exist, but it does not exist, No,
- 1:26:01Speaker 5: does not exist. But I think I got pretty close
- 1:26:05Speaker 5: because there was this deck and it's also opened by
- 1:26:08Speaker 5: an Italian, so I sense a theme here, and when
- 1:26:13Speaker 5: it was opened, I immediately laid my eyes on it,
- 1:26:16Speaker 5: but I didn't really reach out to holdish to it.
- 1:26:18Speaker 5: Who opened the deck Originally, I believe I just left
- 1:26:22Speaker 5: it as this, and at some point I got like
- 1:26:24Speaker 5: this notification saying it is for sale. I was thinking, Okay,
- 1:26:27Speaker 5: I need to jump on this. I feel in my
- 1:26:30Speaker 5: own collection I don't have anything that would be able
- 1:26:33Speaker 5: to take a fall tour, and this deck definitely can.
- 1:26:37Speaker 5: So this is set Tom the Pickkeeper of Embrology. It
- 1:26:40Speaker 5: comes in at a whopping one hundred and twenty seven
- 1:26:43Speaker 5: sass as usual PV does right. It has all the
- 1:26:46Speaker 5: great prophecies in ask again later outlook as a good
- 1:26:49Speaker 5: signs point z yes. So everything that you want five
- 1:26:51Speaker 5: house pips and every single house is disgusting. It builds
- 1:26:55Speaker 5: a board out of nowhere because all those house pips
- 1:26:58Speaker 5: are placed on creature, so it goes. It just builds
- 1:27:01Speaker 5: a board really quickly, and it has all the broken
- 1:27:03Speaker 5: rare cars that you're looking for such as Strength's creed
- 1:27:06Speaker 5: to there. It is on top of that harmonic ritual
- 1:27:10Speaker 5: that is actually a foil mercurial wormhole, Exotic Bivot. Triple
- 1:27:14Speaker 5: Scorpion is actually also MVP because it does so much
- 1:27:17Speaker 5: work in this deck enough to see disruption. This was
- 1:27:21Speaker 5: like the deck that I feel could take any other
- 1:27:24Speaker 5: PV deck, and I was actually more scared of gr
- 1:27:26Speaker 5: NPV in this field. That was what I was thinking
- 1:27:29Speaker 5: when I came in. Interesting, it turns out everyone brought
- 1:27:33Speaker 5: anti PVPV decks. Everyone was rocking Sorry and and sanctum,
- 1:27:37Speaker 5: and there was actually very little shadows this logos that
- 1:27:40Speaker 5: you would usually see, so that was quite an interesting
- 1:27:43Speaker 5: matter change. Yeah, and start of the day I immediately
- 1:27:49Speaker 5: hit friendly fire. So game one was against Stephan Mann,
- 1:27:52Speaker 5: one of our teammates, and that game was rough for him.
- 1:27:59Speaker 5: I don't think he got to forty KI and it
- 1:28:00Speaker 5: was over in ten or so minutes, which was sucked
- 1:28:04Speaker 5: for him. But for me, it was a very comfortable
- 1:28:06Speaker 5: first round. I didn't have to put too much effort
- 1:28:09Speaker 5: into it, and I feel like I could go easily
- 1:28:11Speaker 5: into game two. And before game two, I was actually.
- 1:28:16Speaker 2: I'm just gonna stop and say I'm sorry sepf a man,
- 1:28:19Speaker 2: that this is your teammate, and he just, yeah, it
- 1:28:22Speaker 2: was I'm sorry for you that I'm gonna say tapping
- 1:28:25Speaker 2: I love you.
- 1:28:26Speaker 5: We actually did play in the prep, but yeah, he
- 1:28:29Speaker 5: knew his faith unfortunately for him. Yeah, that was a
- 1:28:32Speaker 5: rough first round matchup and it was so much friendly
- 1:28:34Speaker 5: fire happening. And I remember walking up to my team
- 1:28:38Speaker 5: afterwards and I said, there's one matchup that I want
- 1:28:42Speaker 5: to avoid, and every time I do this, that's the
- 1:28:43Speaker 5: man the matchup I end up getting. And I said,
- 1:28:46Speaker 5: I don't want to play Alie Mac. Like it's not
- 1:28:48Speaker 5: because I love Allie Max. She's amazing, she's a great player,
- 1:28:51Speaker 5: but I knew she was using Dictatur, which is like
- 1:28:54Speaker 5: a wats cat gr deck as disgusting Mars Combos and
- 1:28:59Speaker 5: actually comes close pastor as Nimrod, and I feel like
- 1:29:03Speaker 5: that's the kind of deck that I would lose to.
- 1:29:05Speaker 5: I open play style. And there we go round two
- 1:29:08Speaker 5: against Alie Mac. I definitely call it just the worlds
- 1:29:12Speaker 5: where I said I don't want to play Emperor Ricu
- 1:29:15Speaker 5: and round one was Emperor Ricu. I did it again,
- 1:29:19Speaker 5: and that game went very different than expected. Because things
- 1:29:23Speaker 5: did not line up well for her, and things lined
- 1:29:26Speaker 5: up incredibly well for me, where I feel like I
- 1:29:28Speaker 5: already got an overwhelming board on turn two because of
- 1:29:31Speaker 5: all the house pips and a well placed mercurial wormhole
- 1:29:34Speaker 5: that I can time well with you ask again later,
- 1:29:36Speaker 5: because I know what's on top of my deck, so
- 1:29:38Speaker 5: I know what my house is going to change into.
- 1:29:40Speaker 5: And I think that game also lasted five turns or
- 1:29:43Speaker 5: so because I could just burst so much emberor with
- 1:29:48Speaker 5: using the boards, reaping out with the mercurial wormhole in
- 1:29:51Speaker 5: two houses, and then also using harmonic ritual. I think
- 1:29:53Speaker 5: I went up to like forteen number or so on
- 1:29:56Speaker 5: turn three and that was pretty much the game. Yet
- 1:30:00Speaker 5: one really really quick Game three was on stream, and
- 1:30:06Speaker 5: all I remember about that game is that my opponent
- 1:30:08Speaker 5: had three miasmas in his deck, So throughout the whole
- 1:30:11Speaker 5: game he played Miasma six times, which was pretty incredible.
- 1:30:17Speaker 5: But at the same time, I have enough, I have
- 1:30:20Speaker 5: enough Amba control, so he would generate like two or
- 1:30:24Speaker 5: three Mber every turn that he played the miasma and
- 1:30:26Speaker 5: just stall it out, but not much he could do
- 1:30:29Speaker 5: in the end. Of course, with Strength's screed, you can
- 1:30:31Speaker 5: also just capture on yourself, wipe it all with the
- 1:30:34Speaker 5: Benevolent Charity. So that game lasted a long time, but
- 1:30:38Speaker 5: I don't think it was really close. My close games
- 1:30:41Speaker 5: actually started from game four onwards, and yeah, I felt
- 1:30:45Speaker 5: pretty comfortable going through to zero. Game four was rough
- 1:30:49Speaker 5: because that one was against two of Spears and they
- 1:30:52Speaker 5: brought the highest sas DM deck in the world that
- 1:30:57Speaker 5: comes in at one hundred and twelve SaaS and this
- 1:31:01Speaker 5: is a monster. This deck is incredible. Just to get
- 1:31:06Speaker 5: a taste, it comes with three now and Laters, four
- 1:31:10Speaker 5: catt You Nappings, double all Switcheroo, and the Mother and
- 1:31:16Speaker 5: the Gigantor and a whole bunch of other good cards.
- 1:31:19Speaker 5: This deck is absolutely disgusting. I thought it would be
- 1:31:23Speaker 5: a very rough matchup, and well in the beginning it was.
- 1:31:26Speaker 5: I pulled out barely and I got the win, and
- 1:31:29Speaker 5: I would end up having to face it again later,
- 1:31:33Speaker 5: but I'll talk more about that later. So barely scraped
- 1:31:38Speaker 5: by four zero, felt pretty comfortable after that, and then
- 1:31:41Speaker 5: I had to face Alberto Campos, which was basically just
- 1:31:44Speaker 5: a showdown of and GFL Diamond. I know he's an
- 1:31:48Speaker 5: incredible player, He's really good and I looked at his
- 1:31:51Speaker 5: deck and I said, I'm not sure what this deck does,
- 1:31:55Speaker 5: but I found out it was a PV deck. Of course,
- 1:31:59Speaker 5: it just generated massive amounts of amber. He uses the
- 1:32:03Speaker 5: reiteration to to generate efficiency, put crap cards on the bottom,
- 1:32:09Speaker 5: and then he would use reverse time so he would
- 1:32:11Speaker 5: never have to see those cards again. So he would
- 1:32:13Speaker 5: just keep going through his deck generating amber, never actually
- 1:32:17Speaker 5: playing any creatures against my trengths obviously, and that game
- 1:32:21Speaker 5: five was incredibly close. In the end, I pulled up
- 1:32:27Speaker 5: barely because at some point I just got the over
- 1:32:29Speaker 5: end on board I could purchase delta P and he
- 1:32:32Speaker 5: was just lacking board control. So I scraped by and
- 1:32:34Speaker 5: won a game. And then game six against Jilapenos. So
- 1:32:40Speaker 5: there he is again on stream, and I kind of
- 1:32:45Speaker 5: forgot what happened in the game. All I remember is
- 1:32:47Speaker 5: that after turn two or three, Klapenos was already saying
- 1:32:51Speaker 5: this game is over because things just didn't work for him,
- 1:32:54Speaker 5: and they worked really well for me. I think I
- 1:32:56Speaker 5: got like triple scorpion on the field, and I can
- 1:32:58Speaker 5: just keep reaping out with them and destroy anything that
- 1:33:02Speaker 5: he put on the board. He tried to call back
- 1:33:05Speaker 5: quite a bit, but in the end it was no use.
- 1:33:07Speaker 5: And yeah, I went six and zero being the only
- 1:33:10Speaker 5: undefeated player of today.
- 1:33:14Speaker 2: Congrats, that's a huge accomplishment. And that that was a
- 1:33:17Speaker 2: triple scorpion against triple scorpion match. Oh wait, they were
- 1:33:21Speaker 2: actually hard. But yeah, well, honestly, when you can go
- 1:33:27Speaker 2: ahead and have the sea which is typically missing from PV,
- 1:33:31Speaker 2: it was funny when you were talking about your amber control. Yeah,
- 1:33:34Speaker 2: just a little bit of amber control here, d ok
- 1:33:36Speaker 2: showing twenty one with tranks, you know, just at the top,
- 1:33:40Speaker 2: then benevolent charity, zada, pivot in furnace or rachnoid. Yeah. Interesting.
- 1:33:45Speaker 4: It's quite horrible to practice again, so I can tell
- 1:33:48Speaker 4: you there's always first and.
- 1:33:50Speaker 5: Experience there too, though twenty one is even underestimated from
- 1:33:54Speaker 5: my experience.
- 1:33:56Speaker 4: Yeah, twenty one is. There's more. There's more twins that.
- 1:33:59Speaker 5: You can our custom with the COYX researcher, and you
- 1:34:02Speaker 5: can almost guarantee to hit with usk again later. But
- 1:34:05Speaker 5: it doesn't count for that. Okay, it doesn't see it,
- 1:34:07Speaker 5: but I think it will be closer to like twenty
- 1:34:09Speaker 5: eight or something.
- 1:34:13Speaker 2: Yeah, do okay, miss is a couple different things, so
- 1:34:15Speaker 2: you got a good eye'd be able to look for
- 1:34:17Speaker 2: the deck and then wait for it. So well done.
- 1:34:20Speaker 2: So after going six and zero, well, first.
- 1:34:23Speaker 5: Of all, we had a little bit of a team
- 1:34:24Speaker 5: dilemma because we came with two cars. We had four
- 1:34:28Speaker 5: teammates that were out of the running, and the only
- 1:34:32Speaker 5: two players that went to top eight were both the
- 1:34:34Speaker 5: owners of the two cars, and it was already getting
- 1:34:38Speaker 5: a little bit late, so a few of the teammates
- 1:34:40Speaker 5: wanted to go back, and we were kind of discussing
- 1:34:42Speaker 5: about it, and Lord Judo was gracious enough to offer
- 1:34:46Speaker 5: himself that he would stay with the one that got
- 1:34:49Speaker 5: the farthest, so at least he had someone to drive
- 1:34:51Speaker 5: back with, because you need two drivers for six hours,
- 1:34:54Speaker 5: or at least we do at the middle of the night,
- 1:34:57Speaker 5: and Motility Dragon top eight match, I believe, and then
- 1:35:02Speaker 5: the Duchies went home.
- 1:35:07Speaker 4: Yeah, but Multiley Dragons not my nemesis, Mantilly five Mutility
- 1:35:12Speaker 4: Dragon as was his first top eight appearance, if I'm correct.
- 1:35:16Speaker 4: So he crawled back from a zero one or something
- 1:35:22Speaker 4: position and then one all all of his matches.
- 1:35:25Speaker 2: Afterwards, so that's impassive.
- 1:35:28Speaker 4: Yeah, So that was a very impressive run. Making the
- 1:35:31Speaker 4: top eight, I think he could be happier. So he
- 1:35:34Speaker 4: joined the top eight.
- 1:35:36Speaker 5: To see that it is the first On the beginning
- 1:35:38Speaker 5: of the game or the day, he was slightly disappointed
- 1:35:41Speaker 5: with his first game loss, and as the day progressed,
- 1:35:44Speaker 5: he got more and more cheerful.
- 1:35:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I've seen those players frequently.
- 1:35:53Speaker 5: And then for me, the top eight was mostly rematches.
- 1:35:57Speaker 5: So the top eight game I had to phase two
- 1:36:00Speaker 5: of Spears again. So again this highest DM deck in
- 1:36:03Speaker 5: the world. And actually after the first game, we were
- 1:36:06Speaker 5: chatting a little bit talking about odds and matchup. Where
- 1:36:10Speaker 5: as they said they thought it was a fifty to fifty,
- 1:36:12Speaker 5: I said, well, I think my deck wins the matchup
- 1:36:16Speaker 5: and would have the upper hand, and then we played
- 1:36:19Speaker 5: on stream, and yeah, that turns out to be true.
- 1:36:22Speaker 5: This one wasn't as close as the first game. I
- 1:36:24Speaker 5: feel like I got a better sense for the matchhop
- 1:36:26Speaker 5: I had a better strategy going in and I think
- 1:36:30Speaker 5: in the end they managed to forge aky but didn't
- 1:36:33Speaker 5: get much further than that. So the top eight in
- 1:36:36Speaker 5: the pocket and onto Top four, and then Top four
- 1:36:40Speaker 5: was also again a rematch. So in game five I
- 1:36:44Speaker 5: played Alberto compos and my Top four game was Alberto
- 1:36:48Speaker 5: compos So I was kind of sensing a theme there,
- 1:36:53Speaker 5: and it actually went very similarly where I went into
- 1:36:56Speaker 5: the match. I feel like I got a better sense
- 1:36:59Speaker 5: of the matchup. I knew what I was going to
- 1:37:01Speaker 5: look for. I knew he was never going to play
- 1:37:04Speaker 5: any creatures, and what is main c was, of course
- 1:37:06Speaker 5: I knew in the first game, but I could play
- 1:37:08Speaker 5: around it even a little bit better this time. I
- 1:37:12Speaker 5: used Strength's Creed with Benevolent Charity to just again wipe
- 1:37:14Speaker 5: like nine or ten of his member and that was
- 1:37:17Speaker 5: pretty much the nail in the coffin. I don't think
- 1:37:20Speaker 5: I actually played Shrank's Creed the entire day for creatures
- 1:37:24Speaker 5: or an ember on the opponent's creatures. I basically only
- 1:37:28Speaker 5: used it to capture creatures ember on my own creatures
- 1:37:30Speaker 5: because no one was playing any So that was quite interesting.
- 1:37:36Speaker 2: That is very interesting, and with a double reverse time
- 1:37:39Speaker 2: for Abert like, that's an interesting Dack build. But yes,
- 1:37:43Speaker 2: with crypto collapse and trengths being so prevalent right now,
- 1:37:49Speaker 2: there are a number of people who just like it
- 1:37:52Speaker 2: is not even worthwhile to go ahead and put a
- 1:37:55Speaker 2: creature down. I believe Judo. There was a Marcelo that
- 1:37:59Speaker 2: took ten. Is that correct?
- 1:38:01Speaker 4: Yeah? So I'm fine with trenks, to be honest, because
- 1:38:05Speaker 4: I have all those wards and creatures and also treat
- 1:38:10Speaker 4: each action as your last, so usually they cannot get
- 1:38:15Speaker 4: trenks wipe the ward and kill the creature.
- 1:38:18Speaker 2: It's very hard in that house. But I think most
- 1:38:21Speaker 2: decks cannot do that, and so as a result, people
- 1:38:24Speaker 2: are just unwilling to play creatures right now.
- 1:38:26Speaker 4: Yeah, exactly, so, So I think my deck's and exception
- 1:38:31Speaker 4: to the rule. Yes, but I think this volter was
- 1:38:34Speaker 4: before the buff to greedy reprise or right harm because
- 1:38:38Speaker 4: your deck has got.
- 1:38:39Speaker 5: Much better because with greedy reprisal you can kill creatures
- 1:38:43Speaker 5: that are awarded now. But that's only a very small puff.
- 1:38:47Speaker 5: I don't think it would have been relevant on the
- 1:38:49Speaker 5: vault itself. So yeah, moving on to the finals, and
- 1:38:57Speaker 5: I thought I sensed the theme. I thought, okay, I
- 1:39:00Speaker 5: already played against my game four end Game five opponents,
- 1:39:03Speaker 5: so the finals has got to be against Kalapenos. I
- 1:39:07Speaker 5: fully went into the final expecting that, and he came
- 1:39:11Speaker 5: out of the stream room and had a disappointed look
- 1:39:13Speaker 5: on his face and turns out someone beat him, and
- 1:39:16Speaker 5: this person was Dark Chorus, a new player from France
- 1:39:22Speaker 5: who actually I believe bought his deck fairly recently, just
- 1:39:27Speaker 5: started playing with it and immediately made it into a
- 1:39:29Speaker 5: Vault final. So really well done from him.
- 1:39:34Speaker 4: I guess who we practiced against the most.
- 1:39:37Speaker 3: With act about the neck? You guess what.
- 1:39:45Speaker 4: Is Italian?
- 1:39:48Speaker 3: Another Italian? You were physically all at our national last year,
- 1:39:52Speaker 3: all these things.
- 1:39:55Speaker 4: So I heard that Dark Horus practiced with Kialapenos a
- 1:39:59Speaker 4: lot before the Vault were and they played their top
- 1:40:02Speaker 4: four match against each other. So yeah, that must be
- 1:40:07Speaker 4: a bittersweet one for Calapans to see his his rookie
- 1:40:12Speaker 4: or apprentice make it to the final, but at the
- 1:40:14Speaker 4: cost of him not getting the qualification.
- 1:40:17Speaker 2: Yeah, it's it's it's a bittersweet because you're excited for them,
- 1:40:20Speaker 2: but you're like, I just lost and it's your body too,
- 1:40:24Speaker 2: So I get it.
- 1:40:24Speaker 5: But I did not know about that though. That's interesting.
- 1:40:30Speaker 5: I feel like I missed quite a few things on
- 1:40:32Speaker 5: the day. I was just completely locked in in.
- 1:40:35Speaker 4: Then hey, if you're if you're out of it, you
- 1:40:38Speaker 4: have a lot of time to socialize. And the only
- 1:40:46Speaker 4: thing I was winning all the time was the foosball?
- 1:40:50Speaker 5: Yeah? I think.
- 1:40:53Speaker 2: Now is it table tennis or foodsball? Battle?
- 1:40:57Speaker 5: It's okay.
- 1:41:03Speaker 2: So so you came into the finals. You're actually facing
- 1:41:07Speaker 2: someone who's new now, and how entering into this game
- 1:41:12Speaker 2: did you feel comfortable? I mean, well, first of all,
- 1:41:14Speaker 2: congratulations because by making it in the top two you
- 1:41:17Speaker 2: qualify for Worlds. So one, that's a huge task right
- 1:41:21Speaker 2: there to be able to go ahead and all right, weightlifted,
- 1:41:24Speaker 2: I'm not qualified for Worlds. But how did you like
- 1:41:26Speaker 2: this matchup or did you not like it?
- 1:41:28Speaker 5: So funny story in my search for one of the
- 1:41:32Speaker 5: best decks in the world, where I ended up getting
- 1:41:34Speaker 5: set up. This deck also popped up and I have
- 1:41:37Speaker 5: played with it online and all I remember from this
- 1:41:40Speaker 5: deck is that it just didn't work for me. It
- 1:41:43Speaker 5: didn't click. Well, if you don't get aboards, then you
- 1:41:46Speaker 5: don't get very far. So I already knew going into
- 1:41:48Speaker 5: the matchup the double greedy reprisal was going to be key.
- 1:41:52Speaker 5: And seeing as I have in my minds at least
- 1:41:55Speaker 5: more creature control than he does, and we both really
- 1:41:58Speaker 5: care a lot about the board, feel like I got
- 1:42:00Speaker 5: the one in the pocket and maybe I got a
- 1:42:02Speaker 5: bit overconfident and then going into game one. It's on
- 1:42:09Speaker 5: stream if you want to watch it back. But that
- 1:42:11Speaker 5: was a complete blowout I think again, I played an
- 1:42:16Speaker 5: incredible logos hand turn one into like a huge diskboard
- 1:42:20Speaker 5: turn two. Again, the scorpions were MVP. They were reaping
- 1:42:25Speaker 5: and destroying his board while also generating tons of amber,
- 1:42:28Speaker 5: and with the PV efficiency you still get through your deck.
- 1:42:32Speaker 5: I think I got very far ahead, and the nail
- 1:42:35Speaker 5: in the coffin was basically him putting what was it
- 1:42:39Speaker 5: if evasive maneuvers underneath a prophecy so if it triggered,
- 1:42:43Speaker 5: which I think it was us Again, if it triggered,
- 1:42:46Speaker 5: it would have damaged my entire board.
- 1:42:50Speaker 2: Yep, deal to to each friendly creature is the thing.
- 1:42:52Speaker 5: Fact he actually put it on the early birds who
- 1:42:55Speaker 5: are triggered at the end of his turn. But to
- 1:42:59Speaker 5: damage was not enough to kill my board like a
- 1:43:01Speaker 5: few smaller creatures like the Digitalia, but it would damage
- 1:43:05Speaker 5: most of the rest of my board. And I actually
- 1:43:07Speaker 5: had a Tielner under ask again later which triggered, which
- 1:43:12Speaker 5: basically means that it healed my entire board. It fully
- 1:43:15Speaker 5: healed each creature and your opponent gains one amber for
- 1:43:18Speaker 5: each creature healed this way. I think that one generated
- 1:43:21Speaker 5: me eight Mber rooms.
- 1:43:25Speaker 2: Which you never hear that. Tielnar is like that a
- 1:43:29Speaker 2: card that saved you.
- 1:43:30Speaker 5: Yeah, I've never seen this before and this was absolutely incredible.
- 1:43:34Speaker 5: I don't think it was necessary because I was quite
- 1:43:37Speaker 5: ahead already in the game, but this just closed it
- 1:43:39Speaker 5: down immediately generated way too much ember, so that was
- 1:43:44Speaker 5: kind of like a barrel or just completely run through
- 1:43:48Speaker 5: them in the first game. The game two was actually
- 1:43:50Speaker 5: the closest one.
- 1:43:53Speaker 4: But before you go to game two though, like it
- 1:43:56Speaker 4: was like fifteen minutes that game one, right.
- 1:44:00Speaker 5: It was very sure.
- 1:44:01Speaker 4: It was like super fast if I record.
- 1:44:03Speaker 5: It was between and I remember you saying that you
- 1:44:06Speaker 5: wanted me to end it fast because then we can
- 1:44:08Speaker 5: get it.
- 1:44:11Speaker 2: Then you can get out.
- 1:44:11Speaker 4: I was like, this place, we're going to be home
- 1:44:13Speaker 4: before midnight.
- 1:44:14Speaker 2: And so what I'm finding is that with both of
- 1:44:20Speaker 2: you boys, don't say who you think you're going to
- 1:44:23Speaker 2: play or what the worst matchup is because that's going
- 1:44:25Speaker 2: to come true. And don't say that quickly because then
- 1:44:29Speaker 2: it won't.
- 1:44:30Speaker 5: So we have ourselves the entire weekend. Yes, because I
- 1:44:36Speaker 5: believe game two even went to time or we finished
- 1:44:40Speaker 5: it like half a minute before time was cold or
- 1:44:42Speaker 5: something like that.
- 1:44:44Speaker 4: Yeah, just before it. But those games.
- 1:44:47Speaker 5: Two was the most game out of close game out
- 1:44:51Speaker 5: of three by far. It was just a complete back
- 1:44:54Speaker 5: and forth. None of us could completely get on the
- 1:44:58Speaker 5: board as both of our x wanted to. We had
- 1:45:02Speaker 5: huge ember swings. I believe he stole a lot with
- 1:45:06Speaker 5: his embellished by killing my board and stealing a lot
- 1:45:08Speaker 5: of amber. I could get a lot of it back
- 1:45:10Speaker 5: again with either inter dimensional graft or trenks one of
- 1:45:14Speaker 5: the two. And it was just a constant back and
- 1:45:17Speaker 5: forth until the end where his prophecy triggered and he
- 1:45:21Speaker 5: ended up stealing two amber with predatory landing, and that
- 1:45:25Speaker 5: allowed him to forge his third key. And by that
- 1:45:28Speaker 5: time I wasn't sharp enough anymore. I didn't see that coming,
- 1:45:31Speaker 5: So I feel like I kind of gave it away
- 1:45:34Speaker 5: and I should have been able to play around it.
- 1:45:36Speaker 5: But he pulled game two barely out, really really close, And.
- 1:45:44Speaker 2: So now you're forcing into a game three. You felt
- 1:45:48Speaker 2: pretty comfortable and confident after game one, I've been okay.
- 1:45:52Speaker 2: Game two then is like that was heartaching. So you
- 1:45:56Speaker 2: come into game three. Did you did you take a
- 1:46:01Speaker 2: little bit of time, because they do actually I know
- 1:46:03Speaker 2: a state side whir allowed a little bit of time
- 1:46:05Speaker 2: to kind of walk away, kind of recompose yourself.
- 1:46:07Speaker 5: Did you take a moment, grab some water. I had
- 1:46:10Speaker 5: some nuts and some snacks because I didn't eat and
- 1:46:13Speaker 5: it was already like eight in an evening. I took
- 1:46:16Speaker 5: like five or ten minutes and then got back to
- 1:46:18Speaker 5: the table. We start playing again. Yeah, I feel like
- 1:46:23Speaker 5: I feel like after such an intense game and then
- 1:46:27Speaker 5: barely losing, you need a little bit of distance and
- 1:46:30Speaker 5: kind of control and stabilize yourself again.
- 1:46:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I would agree. I would actually even state if
- 1:46:38Speaker 2: you win, to also do the same so you're not
- 1:46:40Speaker 2: riding a complete high, and then that you can basically
- 1:46:45Speaker 2: believe in yourself a little bit too much and you
- 1:46:48Speaker 2: kind of overcompensate. So I recommend that to anyone. And
- 1:46:52Speaker 2: it's a long day when you've been playing, and then
- 1:46:54Speaker 2: it's top eight game, top four game, and you're excited
- 1:46:57Speaker 2: you made worlds, but you also want that final, like
- 1:47:01Speaker 2: I want to take down this vault. So memory starts
- 1:47:06Speaker 2: to go ahead and fade just slightly decision making.
- 1:47:10Speaker 5: So I was starting to make mistakes in game two,
- 1:47:15Speaker 5: just very small things like when I played the Exotic Pivot,
- 1:47:19Speaker 5: which I knew was going to hit, he only had
- 1:47:20Speaker 5: two amber and I could have destroyed one of my
- 1:47:22Speaker 5: creatures to steal three instead of two, Like those kind
- 1:47:26Speaker 5: of things, and I feel like that's why I lost
- 1:47:28Speaker 5: game two, even though I completely agree with you say,
- 1:47:32Speaker 5: like after game one, I also took a breather. I
- 1:47:34Speaker 5: took like five to ten minutes again, walked around chitch
- 1:47:36Speaker 5: had a little bit, still being very confident when I
- 1:47:39Speaker 5: came back to the table, and yeah, you just need
- 1:47:41Speaker 5: that time. You need to step away from the game
- 1:47:43Speaker 5: for a bit because else it's too much and games.
- 1:47:49Speaker 2: So you've now entered game three. In game three, it's
- 1:47:52Speaker 2: basically games one and two are gone. This is the
- 1:47:55Speaker 2: best of one here.
- 1:47:57Speaker 5: Did you get to pick the starting player? And I
- 1:47:59Speaker 5: feel like with PV you always want to be the
- 1:48:01Speaker 5: starting player. So with that, I feel like I got
- 1:48:04Speaker 5: super minuscule but still a small advantage where you're allowed
- 1:48:09Speaker 5: for the mulligan, you get to put a prophecy immediately underneath,
- 1:48:12Speaker 5: you get to play cards, so I feel like usually
- 1:48:14Speaker 5: you want that first player. I drew my seven cards,
- 1:48:18Speaker 5: and let's just say they weren't good, which is fine
- 1:48:23Speaker 5: instant mulligan. I put them away. I redrew my cards,
- 1:48:27Speaker 5: and I don't remember my exact hand, but all I
- 1:48:30Speaker 5: remembered was after turn two or three, I was stuck
- 1:48:33Speaker 5: in my hand with greedy reprisal trends and harmonic ritual
- 1:48:37Speaker 5: where you don't want to throw away those cards for
- 1:48:40Speaker 5: zero value, even though sometimes you try. But that allows
- 1:48:42Speaker 5: your opponent to just completely get on board and they
- 1:48:45Speaker 5: don't have to hold back at all, which he didn't do.
- 1:48:47Speaker 5: That was quite surprising, Like in none of the games
- 1:48:50Speaker 5: he held back. He just fully went through it, went
- 1:48:53Speaker 5: for it. And then at the time where I actually
- 1:48:57Speaker 5: needed the greedy reprisal, he played try hard and he
- 1:49:00Speaker 5: discarded out of my hand. So the rest of the
- 1:49:04Speaker 5: goal for the game, I was thinking, I'm so much
- 1:49:07Speaker 5: behind on board because he immediately put down a lot
- 1:49:09Speaker 5: of creatures. I need to get to that second greedy reprisal,
- 1:49:12Speaker 5: So I optimized for efficiency. I went through my deck
- 1:49:15Speaker 5: completely and at some point he was already very far ahead,
- 1:49:19Speaker 5: but I got the trenths in greed reprisal again, I tried,
- 1:49:22Speaker 5: I did both. I almost completely wiped his board. I
- 1:49:25Speaker 5: trengsed him, turned back to him, and he immediately smashed
- 1:49:28Speaker 5: down five or six sorrying creatures all at once, and
- 1:49:33Speaker 5: I knew I didn't have any of my greedy reprisals anymore.
- 1:49:36Speaker 5: I didn't see my eddy of disses, which would have
- 1:49:38Speaker 5: allowed me to shuffle my discard well back into my deck.
- 1:49:42Speaker 5: So I feel like, Okay, I'm cooked. I need to
- 1:49:45Speaker 5: get through my deck as soon as possible and either
- 1:49:48Speaker 5: find the trenks again or the greedy reprisal again. I
- 1:49:51Speaker 5: held on for longer than I thought I would. It
- 1:49:53Speaker 5: was still quite an intense and long game, but it
- 1:49:57Speaker 5: was really hard to get back in that and it
- 1:49:58Speaker 5: felt like a complete reversal for Game one where he
- 1:50:00Speaker 5: completely steam rolled me. So it happens. That's also key forge.
- 1:50:04Speaker 5: I'm still very proud of getting a second place and
- 1:50:06Speaker 5: huge congrats to Dark Chorus for taking it all down.
- 1:50:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean congrats, and I'll quickly run through so
- 1:50:16Speaker 2: Dark horas going ahead and being your ARCon Paris Vault
- 1:50:20Speaker 2: Tour winner Harmed coming in as second, so the Dutch deuce,
- 1:50:24Speaker 2: but honestly, it's huge accomplishment. Top four went til Bert's
- 1:50:27Speaker 2: Accomposts and Albinus and then top eight going to Motility Dragon.
- 1:50:32Speaker 2: See how I did that. Judo two of Spears, bott
- 1:50:35Speaker 2: Orknot and Jim twenty three thirty so talked about many
- 1:50:39Speaker 2: of these decks, you guys face. So congrats to everyone
- 1:50:41Speaker 2: who made top eights and who ah, sure, I think
- 1:50:49Speaker 2: it's actually easier if I just count the decks that
- 1:50:52Speaker 2: are not PV. And there was one and it was
- 1:50:55Speaker 2: a DM happens to be the top rated DM deck.
- 1:50:59Speaker 2: We'd have to put it in a draft score in
- 1:51:00Speaker 2: order to really verify that that's true or not.
- 1:51:03Speaker 4: It's more accurate, Yeah.
- 1:51:04Speaker 2: It is more accurate. But yes, PV was prevalent, to
- 1:51:09Speaker 2: say the least for Paris.
- 1:51:10Speaker 4: And I read somewhere that we didn't get the memo
- 1:51:13Speaker 4: in Europe or something that there was this unspoken rule
- 1:51:18Speaker 4: to not bring PV, but.
- 1:51:21Speaker 5: That did happen.
- 1:51:27Speaker 4: I mean, it would be better if everyone did, but
- 1:51:29Speaker 4: you know it's not going to happen.
- 1:51:32Speaker 2: So, yeah, some people want to win, and we'll continue
- 1:51:36Speaker 2: to keep playing for it.
- 1:51:37Speaker 4: We want to win. They're just there to have fun,
- 1:51:40Speaker 4: you know.
- 1:51:41Speaker 2: We are there to have fun, but winning is also
- 1:51:43Speaker 2: an important part. So you finished. Uh did you let's see,
- 1:51:49Speaker 2: let's start, Suzuti. Did you end up going ahead and
- 1:51:51Speaker 2: leaving earlier make it home in a reasonable time?
- 1:51:55Speaker 3: No?
- 1:51:55Speaker 2: No, because it was it was essentially two days for
- 1:52:00Speaker 2: you to get there with Did you have to take
- 1:52:02Speaker 2: another two days to get back?
- 1:52:04Speaker 3: Yeah? Absolutely, yep. I had to wait for the next
- 1:52:08Speaker 3: day to actually get back to touring. Then I had
- 1:52:13Speaker 3: to take well the train to get there, and then
- 1:52:18Speaker 3: I had to get back home with the car, which
- 1:52:20Speaker 3: is another eight hours.
- 1:52:22Speaker 4: Eight hours by yourself. Yeah, oh my god.
- 1:52:25Speaker 2: Did you at least get a chance to celebrate your
- 1:52:28Speaker 2: sealed win while waiting?
- 1:52:30Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 1:52:31Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah yeah. The final day of Farcon, after the
- 1:52:35Speaker 3: whole thing was finished, we decided to go and eat
- 1:52:39Speaker 3: a steak. So it was fun.
- 1:52:42Speaker 5: Yeah, delicious.
- 1:52:44Speaker 2: And Judo, did you make it home in a reasonable time?
- 1:52:47Speaker 2: I mean, you were such a good friend that you
- 1:52:49Speaker 2: waited for Harmed ye who made it? Who made it
- 1:52:52Speaker 2: all the way to the finals? So the longest he
- 1:52:54Speaker 2: cot a get he went to almost time, is what
- 1:52:56Speaker 2: I heard, just a few seconds off and then he
- 1:52:58Speaker 2: douced it, so he didn't even come away with that
- 1:53:01Speaker 2: Vault Warrior winning. I know, I'm teasing him, but I
- 1:53:05Speaker 2: don't know.
- 1:53:05Speaker 4: As I know Harmed was had his eyes set on
- 1:53:10Speaker 4: ark On. So I was actually almost more routing for
- 1:53:14Speaker 4: him to get to the finals than myself because I
- 1:53:16Speaker 4: know how much he practiced and put the work in,
- 1:53:19Speaker 4: so I was I was happy for that. The consequences
- 1:53:22Speaker 4: was that we arrived at two thirty or so, even
- 1:53:25Speaker 4: dropped me at home, so that was nice twenty minute
- 1:53:28Speaker 4: due to her if he.
- 1:53:29Speaker 5: Put it in maybe half an hour in the end, sure,
- 1:53:32Speaker 5: it was like I was.
- 1:53:36Speaker 2: Yeah, so say earlier that memory and thought processes was.
- 1:53:41Speaker 5: Like yeah, sure, So.
- 1:53:46Speaker 4: From my house to arms house on a on a
- 1:53:48Speaker 4: good night, it's like eighteen minutes. Maybe something I don't
- 1:53:52Speaker 4: know turned out a bit longer, but yeah, two thirty.
- 1:53:56Speaker 4: I think we got home at night and the next
- 1:54:00Speaker 4: day is a normal work day with the kids and work,
- 1:54:03Speaker 4: so yeah, I think.
- 1:54:07Speaker 2: Well, speaking of I have held you guys on this
- 1:54:11Speaker 2: middle of the week where you got to get to
- 1:54:12Speaker 2: work and it is it's getting late. You're almost at
- 1:54:14Speaker 2: ten thirty over by you, guys, any final statements comments
- 1:54:19Speaker 2: you want to say before we go ahead and wrap
- 1:54:21Speaker 2: this up.
- 1:54:22Speaker 4: I guess a huge shout out to the organizer of
- 1:54:25Speaker 4: the French Folter. It's always nice seeing those those those
- 1:54:31Speaker 4: guys showing up Tonio Jalapenos, is fit Ashitaka and everyone
- 1:54:38Speaker 4: at EMI's am I Culture Center there. They did such
- 1:54:43Speaker 4: an amazing job. It's a great atmosphere. I think it's
- 1:54:47Speaker 4: probably similar to what you guys have in the stage. Right,
- 1:54:49Speaker 4: the first folter you go to, you I don't really
- 1:54:52Speaker 4: know that many people, but afterwards the second one you
- 1:54:55Speaker 4: go to, you are visiting your your friends more or less.
- 1:54:59Speaker 4: So if that like, we were playing with friends in
- 1:55:02Speaker 4: a very well organized water, so huge, huge shout out
- 1:55:04Speaker 4: to all of those people.
- 1:55:10Speaker 5: What else is there left to say? I think Lord
- 1:55:12Speaker 5: Juda said it all like, huge thanks to everyone who
- 1:55:15Speaker 5: organized the entire French team, Portuguese team, all the different
- 1:55:19Speaker 5: countries that were there. It was an absolute blast. And yeah,
- 1:55:22Speaker 5: I hope it happens again next year because it's always
- 1:55:24Speaker 5: fun to me together, all right.
- 1:55:29Speaker 2: The zooly final comments, same thing for me.
- 1:55:33Speaker 3: It was really well organized and honestly, if I might
- 1:55:38Speaker 3: add something, but it's more personal, I'd want to think
- 1:55:41Speaker 3: it's also Harmed and Judo because they were the one
- 1:55:46Speaker 3: to help us get to the volletmore.
- 1:55:51Speaker 4: In the car. Yeah, so it was fun. It was
- 1:55:55Speaker 4: good fun. We somehow we hung out with you guys,
- 1:56:00Speaker 4: which I didn't expect to not because of some swings,
- 1:56:04Speaker 4: but I didn't expect to hang out with the three
- 1:56:07Speaker 4: Italians that much at the Voter, which was a nice change.
- 1:56:12Speaker 4: It's good.
- 1:56:13Speaker 3: Yeah, it was a pleasure for us as well. So
- 1:56:15Speaker 3: thanks again for everything.
- 1:56:17Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:56:18Speaker 2: Well, I will say that every time I get to
- 1:56:20Speaker 2: see you guys at KFC, I've enjoyed my time, whether
- 1:56:23Speaker 2: that's swimming or playing keyboards or just hanging out. So
- 1:56:27Speaker 2: one day, hopefully in the future, I'll actually be able
- 1:56:30Speaker 2: to make it over to a vault in Europe.
- 1:56:32Speaker 4: Because Nationals' just shameless plug. The Dutch Nationals is coming
- 1:56:37Speaker 4: up in September and it's said to be a big
- 1:56:40Speaker 4: one because we've got people from Germany, We've got people
- 1:56:43Speaker 4: from France, Great Britain, Italy.
- 1:56:46Speaker 3: Maybe I was thinking about it, Oh yeah, I have
- 1:56:52Speaker 3: issue with the news yea. Honestly, it's such a bad
- 1:56:57Speaker 3: timing this year.
- 1:57:00Speaker 4: Yeah, So the Nationals are coming up. If anyone from
- 1:57:03Speaker 4: the States still wants to come, we're gonna probably stream it.
- 1:57:06Speaker 4: It's a stacked field so if you're hoping to get
- 1:57:09Speaker 4: a qualification there, it's going to be as tough as
- 1:57:12Speaker 4: a vaultur, I think, but it's gonna be good times
- 1:57:16Speaker 4: because our friends from the French Vulture are coming over
- 1:57:20Speaker 4: and the Germans. So yeah, shameless plug, I was.
- 1:57:24Speaker 3: I was sore that with theles.
- 1:57:29Speaker 4: Have you ever heard of a stroke waffle any walk?
- 1:57:32Speaker 2: I have not heard of this cave.
- 1:57:34Speaker 4: See if we're coming and there's a chance we should
- 1:57:36Speaker 4: bring some stroke waffles. We'll get the whole AC team
- 1:57:40Speaker 4: hooked on stroke waffles.
- 1:57:42Speaker 2: I mean I like food and drinks, so this is
- 1:57:44Speaker 2: great for me. Yes, more stroke waffles signing up. But
- 1:57:52Speaker 2: I will also say just a shout out to the
- 1:57:54Speaker 2: three of you guys, thanks for taking time in your evening,
- 1:57:57Speaker 2: for being able to go ahead and walk through the
- 1:57:59Speaker 2: Vault Tour. We don't oftentimes get a chance to be
- 1:58:03Speaker 2: able to count what's happening internationally, so I appreciate you
- 1:58:07Speaker 2: taking time and being able to talk about it in Congrats.
- 1:58:09Speaker 2: Whether you want ahead and did bass, whether you qualified
- 1:58:13Speaker 2: or you became a volt Warrior, or uh anything in between,
