Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: I wanted to take a moment to discuss a story
- 0:03Speaker 1: that broke while I was gone for a couple of days.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Tony Katz ninety three WIBC, Good morning, And I don't
- 0:14Speaker 1: have an audio piece for it, but this is the
- 0:18Speaker 1: popcorn moment.
- 0:19Speaker 2: Let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go.
- 0:22Speaker 2: We got back the.
- 0:24Speaker 1: Story you need to hear to believe, and grab your
- 0:25Speaker 1: popcorn because there is more. And it was a tweet,
- 0:31Speaker 1: a post from State Representative Andrew Ireland, who actually got
- 0:36Speaker 1: to meet for the first time in.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Wayne a couple of weeks ago.
- 0:41Speaker 1: He's calling on Ryan Mears, the Marion County Prosecutor, to
- 0:44Speaker 1: launch an inquiry into the Hoghead administration.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Now, this is the story from Haley Colombo over.
- 0:50Speaker 1: At The Indie Star and Emily Hopkins and Peter Blanchard
- 0:53Speaker 1: over at Mirror Indy. And this is about the Hogshead
- 0:58Speaker 1: administration and advancing interest behind closed doors, which is to
- 1:07Speaker 1: say that it seems that the hog Set administration is
- 1:13Speaker 1: involved in Hey.
- 1:15Speaker 2: If you've given a donation, will help you out. That's
- 1:18Speaker 2: that's how I take it.
- 1:20Speaker 1: The quid pro quo conversation taking place going into how
- 1:25Speaker 1: in twenty fifteen. When he first ran for office, hog
- 1:30Speaker 1: Set was a guy focused on people who think that
- 1:34Speaker 1: they can just you know, buy influence and they cheat
- 1:37Speaker 1: the system and steal your tax dollars. Democrats have been
- 1:40Speaker 1: running on this for ten years, and then, of course
- 1:43Speaker 1: look at what it is that they do it all.
- 1:45Speaker 1: It's always a fraudulent statement, but it discusses the idea
- 1:50Speaker 1: of a machine, a political machine that hog Set has
- 1:56Speaker 1: donors get appointments to this and appointments to that, and
- 1:59Speaker 1: you save me, Tonia.
- 2:00Speaker 2: This happens in politics all the time.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Let's agree that we agree these things do happen in
- 2:07Speaker 1: politics all the time, and they're terrible and they're awful.
- 2:10Speaker 1: The question before us is why don't we do something
- 2:14Speaker 1: about it?
- 2:15Speaker 2: Why don't we.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Do something about the inability to come back crime in Indianapolis.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Why don't we do something about the homeless issue. Why
- 2:22Speaker 1: don't we do something about the lack of prosecution. There
- 2:25Speaker 1: are so many subjects that we discuss where it's why
- 2:27Speaker 1: don't we do something? And then of course you're asked,
- 2:30Speaker 1: why is it that we don't do something? I cannot
- 2:36Speaker 1: get the Indianapolis voter to change. I want to I
- 2:41Speaker 1: need to, but right now they seem insistent on being fools.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Oh I'm not.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Worried about whether or not people like what I have
- 2:51Speaker 1: to say or don't pound sand and go screw it
- 2:54Speaker 1: means nothing to me.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Honesty will come forth.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Go on trolls say something else on social media, like
- 3:02Speaker 1: I give a damn. But the subject where I have
- 3:07Speaker 1: been Voice number one is with the so called civic
- 3:12Speaker 1: leaders who say nothing zero, empty.
- 3:21Speaker 2: They own the sports.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Teams, they have their names high on the buildings, they've
- 3:26Speaker 1: got the endowments and the foundations, and the city continues
- 3:31Speaker 1: to crumble from the inside out and they say nothing.
- 3:36Speaker 1: And the only reason growth takes place in Indianapolis is that.
- 3:39Speaker 2: We do have excellent people.
- 3:41Speaker 1: We've got the surrounding communities that could still make an
- 3:44Speaker 1: impact on this place.
- 3:45Speaker 2: And the state of Indiana, for the most part, is
- 3:48Speaker 2: pretty well run, though not perfectly run.
- 3:51Speaker 1: None of it has to do with Indianapolis leadership at all.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Everybody's kidding themselves and full of crap if they think otherwise.
- 4:01Speaker 2: We're going to dig into these stories.
- 4:03Speaker 1: We're going to ask for the interviews with Peter and
- 4:06Speaker 1: Emily and Haley and what is it that was found,
- 4:10Speaker 1: But in every conversation comes the backdrop of the so
- 4:13Speaker 1: called civic leaders. Where the hell are you and why
- 4:17Speaker 1: don't you give a damn about this city.
- 4:22Speaker 2: You're the problem.
- 4:24Speaker 1: We've got the wrong people, with the wrong buildings and
- 4:28Speaker 1: the wrong teams.
- 4:29Speaker 2: It seems if they won't pay attention to the basics
