- 0:27Hey everybody, good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30So today let's ask ourselves a mindset question and this is a
- 0:34good one. So when you start feeling like
- 0:37you are looping in bad juju or bad thoughts and it just keeps
- 0:42going, you have to stop, pause and ask yourself, am I giving
- 0:47myself equal time to think about the good things that I want to
- 0:54bring into my life as I am the negative things that could go
- 0:58wrong? So that little question, just
- 1:00that distinction that says, hey, am I paying attention to what I
- 1:04want to attract as much as I'm paying attention to what I don't
- 1:07want to attract? It is, is such a, a mind blowing
- 1:11distinction when you stop and pause about it because we spend
- 1:14so much time trying to avoid pain that we don't realize how
- 1:18much we are attracting the pain by doing that to ourselves.
- 1:21It just keeps going and going. And it's basic, you know, law of
- 1:25attraction, basic energy, basic science where we come back and
- 1:29say, hey, if I'm putting energy and focus on something, I'm
- 1:32going to see more of that in my life.
- 1:34And when we do that, it works positive and negative.
- 1:38So we just don't think about the fact that we're doing so much of
- 1:42the negative that we're just amplifying it and bringing it
- 1:44forward, bringing it forward, bringing it forward.
- 1:47So how do you break the patterns?
- 1:49The only way to break a pattern is to ask a different question
- 1:52and pull yourself out of it, which most people don't think
- 1:54about. So they don't do it because
- 1:56they're so used to doing the looping things and the looping
- 1:59questions. They just stay right there.
- 2:02One of the biggest things that I can tell you that helps me so
- 2:05quickly is asking myself, am I asking the right question?
- 2:08In general? It's a great thing to do.
- 2:10Just ask yourself, am I asking the right question?
- 2:12But this particular 1:00, AM I giving equal time to the things
- 2:16I want to bring in as I am? The things I don't want because
- 2:20I'm worried about them will make you think.
- 2:22It stops you in your tracks. It puts you right back in that
- 2:26great space of saying, OK, I really need to look at this.
- 2:30This is not where my head should be.
- 2:33You know, the hardest part about this is we are hardwired to see
- 2:38what's wrong. As human beings, we are
- 2:40hardwired to see what's wrong. You've probably heard me say
- 2:43that on here before. We can't help it because it's
- 2:45just part of the nature of human beings to see what's wrong so we
- 2:48can avoid pain. The only problem is as soon as
- 2:51we start seeing what's wrong, we keep looking for what's wrong
- 2:53and we keep attracting what's wrong.
- 2:55So it's a vicious cycle. It's like a dog chasing their
- 2:58tail. They're never going to get
- 2:59anywhere. And while it may seem funny,
- 3:01when the dog starts doing it, he's having a psychological
- 3:03breakdown and you have to stop them.
- 3:06And the same thing with us is true.
- 3:08You have to stop it in order to grow out of it, to grow past it,
- 3:11to be OK. So the challenge is interrupting
- 3:16your own pattern because nobody else is in your head.
- 3:18You have to do it yourself. And the best way to interrupt
- 3:21the pattern is by feeling that energy coming in, feeling that,
- 3:25that angst, that moment, pulling yourself out and saying, wait,
- 3:30stop. And then asking that question
- 3:32because you're going to be able to tell yourself, you know,
- 3:35what's a positive I can focus on.
- 3:37And even if you can't come up with a positive in the moment
- 3:40of, OK, I see a positive right now happening, you can say, what
- 3:44positive do I want to project that will happen?
- 3:46And you can start thinking of it like, what do I want to make
- 3:49happen? What do I want to intend to
- 3:51happen? Manifest whatever language you
- 3:53you want in it. You have to force that to come
- 3:56forward. And you're going to have to do
- 3:58this more than once. There's just no question about
- 4:01it. You might be able to set it 5
- 4:03minutes later, you're going to set it again, and then 5 minutes
- 4:05later you're going to set it again because that's human
- 4:07nature. And that's what we do.
- 4:09We keep slipping, we keep slipping, we keep slipping.
- 4:12But you know what's crazy about it is if you would interrupt the
- 4:14pattern enough times, all of a sudden you have a change and it
- 4:19starts to stick and then it becomes like your norm not to
- 4:23think that way. So it's just being willing to
- 4:26stay consistent with interrupting yourself.
- 4:29I mean, I can tell you, I have had to do this to myself for
- 4:33years and still continue to do it to myself.
- 4:36I'm just doing better at doing it quicker most of the times.
- 4:38It's not that it doesn't happen to me anymore.
- 4:40It definitely happens. It's just now I do it quicker
- 4:44and I don't let it sit around. I don't let it faster.
- 4:47So go ask yourself the right question, put your intention and
- 4:50your focus there and see if you can stop it.
- 4:52And sometimes it actually helps too to sit with a pad and write
- 4:56down how many times did I correct myself?
- 4:58I mean, Or use your notes app on your phone or whatever you like,
- 5:02but see how many times you've corrected yourself in the day so
- 5:06you can say geez, I'm really sick of hearing myself correct
- 5:08myself. I have a client who will text
- 5:12herself every time she catches herself a poop emoji.
- 5:15We made a joke about a poop emoji.
- 5:17Lots of my clients use that to let me know they're in negative
- 5:20thoughts. And she just texts herself every
- 5:23time she has to correct herself the poop emoji so she knows she
- 5:27was having that happen. And she'll say, Oh my gosh, I
- 5:30just had 15 poop emojis in the last two hours.
- 5:34How is that possible? And I laugh and I'm like, well,
- 5:37it's better you catch it and we and we understand it.
- 5:39Then you keep doing it and, you know, putting poop emojis all
- 5:42over yourself. Just catch yourself, break the
- 5:45patterns. All right, my friends, I hope
- 5:48you have a blessed day and I will see you tomorrow.
- 5:51Bye.
